- 0:00Speaker 1: Move on all right welcome back to our complete matchup
- 0:07Speaker 1: guide Georgia and Vandy this weekend some good storylines with
- 0:10Speaker 1: Jared Curtis what we thought was going to be um
- 0:14Speaker 1: you know a one-time Georgia commit now at Vandy things
- 0:17Speaker 1: have kind of changed and switched up a little bit
- 0:19Speaker 1: there but this is presented by PrizePix I'll give some
- 0:21Speaker 1: love to them later but uh Graham georgia vandy maybe
- 0:26Speaker 1: not the sec matchup that everybody is raving about this
- 0:30Speaker 1: week i know there's some other stuff happening in the
- 0:31Speaker 1: conference but still a pretty intriguing matchup as we try
- 0:33Speaker 1: and learn more about where uga is so far in
- 0:36Speaker 1: this season.
- 0:38Speaker 2: Yeah for sure and i mean you know vanderbilt has
- 0:41Speaker 2: had a really odd circuitous path to get to three
- 0:44Speaker 2: and one but They are still 3-1. Thank you, NC State. Yeah,
- 0:49Speaker 2: thank you, NC State. They kind of should have maybe
- 0:52Speaker 2: beat Auburn, honestly. They lost that game on a blocked
- 0:56Speaker 2: punt return or a blocked punt for a touchdown. They
- 1:00Speaker 2: really outscored Auburn's offense, though. Kind of an interesting team
- 1:05Speaker 2: because their defense was bad, and then they played pretty
- 1:09Speaker 2: good last week. They're kind of changing fast, which is
- 1:11Speaker 2: what you expect from a well-coached team. Clark Lee's a
- 1:14Speaker 2: good coach. They've got Jerry Curtis, obviously, who's a young talent,
- 1:17Speaker 2: but they also have a lot of new faces and
- 1:19Speaker 2: new places. So I kind of think they're evolving and
- 1:23Speaker 2: there's a long way to go for them.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Yeah. On Georgia specifically, I think it's so hard to
- 1:29Speaker 1: evaluate certain teams because of who they've played. And I
- 1:35Speaker 1: was incredibly impressed with them against Oklahoma, but also keeping
- 1:40Speaker 1: in mind Oklahoma is kind of a train wreck right
- 1:44Speaker 1: now and playing worse. I don't know if they're a
- 1:47Speaker 1: worse team or not, like it's maybe TBD, but playing
- 1:50Speaker 1: worse right now than we could have expected. I think
- 1:52Speaker 1: the one thing we all kind of thought, though, is, well,
- 1:54Speaker 1: Georgia's offense is going to have to work against this defense.
- 1:58Speaker 1: And Georgia's offense looked great on Saturday. And so, listen,
- 2:02Speaker 1: I'll buy all the, look, when you don't play anybody
- 2:04Speaker 1: at a conference or your first SEC game is Arkansas
- 2:07Speaker 1: and Utah beat the crap out of them. Like, how
- 2:09Speaker 1: much did we really glean from Georgia in the first
- 2:12Speaker 1: three weeks, I don't know, but that offense looked really,
- 2:16Speaker 1: really good. How much credit do you give Georgia's defense
- 2:18Speaker 1: for holding Oklahoma down? I don't know. UTEP did that.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Questions that we all have. Thoughts on Georgia's offense against
- 2:27Speaker 1: what is a really good defense for OU?
- 2:31Speaker 2: That is a really good defense. Kirby Smart, I know
- 2:35Speaker 2: for a fact. told some people in the building, told
- 2:38Speaker 2: his players last week coming into that game, like this
- 2:40Speaker 2: is probably going to be the best pure run defense
- 2:43Speaker 2: that you've seen in three or four years. And they
- 2:46Speaker 2: felt that way. And so this was not a game
- 2:49Speaker 2: where Georgia was able to do what they're kind of
- 2:51Speaker 2: known for doing and more comfortable doing in terms of
- 2:54Speaker 2: just being a very efficient football team that goes on
- 2:57Speaker 2: long drives. They did that at times. Their first scoring
- 3:00Speaker 2: drive was– almost seven minutes. I think it was the
- 3:02Speaker 2: fourth longest touchdown drive that Oklahoma has given up in
- 3:05Speaker 2: the last 30 games. And they were the first team
- 3:08Speaker 2: to put over 40 on Oklahoma's as they've joined the sec.
- 3:11Speaker 2: So like it was, it was a good day for UGA,
- 3:13Speaker 2: but what I was most impressed with was Georgia had
- 3:16Speaker 2: talked all off season. Kirby had talked all off season.
- 3:19Speaker 2: We want to be more explosive. We need to be
- 3:21Speaker 2: more explosive. And you get into a game against Oklahoma,
- 3:25Speaker 2: who is a very aggressive defense that wanted to blitz
- 3:29Speaker 2: Georgia a lot. And Georgia, to their credit, said, you know,
- 3:33Speaker 2: we're going to throw downfield. We're going to get the
- 3:35Speaker 2: ball outside. We're going to take advantage of these man-to-man
- 3:38Speaker 2: matchups that the heavy pressure packages Oklahoma runs creates. And
- 3:43Speaker 2: that's just not something I'm sure they would have done
- 3:46Speaker 2: like last year. I'm not sure that's how they would
- 3:48Speaker 2: have handled that. And in the run game, it was
- 3:51Speaker 2: a slog at times. Like they had some stuff runs
- 3:54Speaker 2: much more than you usually see from a Georgia offense,
- 3:57Speaker 2: especially I think this particular Georgia offense. but they break
- 4:01Speaker 2: a 55-yard run for a touchdown with the White Phillips.
- 4:05Speaker 2: They're up to, I think, six 50-yard plays from scrimmage
- 4:08Speaker 2: so far this year after only having two all of
- 4:09Speaker 2: last year. So there's a lot of good trend lines
- 4:12Speaker 2: and signs for them offensively, but really seeing them commit
- 4:16Speaker 2: to throwing the ball vertically with Gunnar Stockton and some
- 4:19Speaker 2: of these young wide receivers who were well-heralded coming out
- 4:22Speaker 2: of high school but that we haven't really seen do
- 4:25Speaker 2: that in a game yet was impressive.
- 4:28Speaker 1: When you think about this Vandy matchup, obviously Jared Curtis
- 4:32Speaker 1: being questionable is a storyline going into it, and I
- 4:36Speaker 1: just kind of wonder, I feel like there's a million
- 4:37Speaker 1: angles you can go, so I'll just let my ADD
- 4:40Speaker 1: brain go wild for a minute and spout them all
- 4:43Speaker 1: off to you, and then you can kind of go
- 4:45Speaker 1: in the direction that you want. One, him not playing
- 4:48Speaker 1: matters because he's a starting quarterback, but also I also
- 4:52Speaker 1: think you're talking about a kid that would be playing
- 4:53Speaker 1: his fifth college game anyway. This isn't the same as
- 4:56Speaker 1: Sam Levitt being questionable right before Ole Miss, right? I
- 5:00Speaker 1: think the, not that your starting quarterback isn't important everywhere,
- 5:03Speaker 1: but it's a guy with five starts or four starts, right?
- 5:07Speaker 1: In a college career, as opposed to Levitt, where they've
- 5:09Speaker 1: really built a lot of things around him. So, you know,
- 5:12Speaker 1: you want him there if you're Vandy, but it's probably
- 5:15Speaker 1: not like the massive drop off. Otherwise, like it might
- 5:19Speaker 1: be if this guy, if Jared was in his third year, right?
- 5:22Speaker 1: So that's one thought that I have. Two is if
- 5:25Speaker 1: he's battling back from what Clark Lee has called a
- 5:27Speaker 1: major injury. Not that you're cheering for him.
- 5:30Speaker 2: Has he called it that?
- 5:32Speaker 1: That's what I read. He's mentally and physically tough, battling
- 5:36Speaker 1: back from a minor injury. Yeah, let's correct that.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Correct it.
- 5:41Speaker 1: But if he's battling back from a minor injury and
- 5:45Speaker 1: he's questionable on a status... I don't know that the
- 5:48Speaker 1: Georgia defense, not that you would ever cheer for an
- 5:50Speaker 1: injury or hope a guy gets hurt, but like the
- 5:52Speaker 1: risk of being re-injured against a Georgia defense to me
- 5:55Speaker 1: is pretty real and something that needs to be considered of,
- 5:59Speaker 1: you know, is Vandy trying to win the battle or
- 6:00Speaker 1: the war, right? Like for the season. Again, not that
- 6:04Speaker 1: I'm encouraging any kind, I know people will read into
- 6:07Speaker 1: that the wrong way, but I do think you're thinking
- 6:08Speaker 1: about that if you're Vandy is like, man, I'd really
- 6:10Speaker 1: rather this be an Arkansas defense that we were going
- 6:12Speaker 1: up against this week or somebody that doesn't play with
- 6:15Speaker 1: maybe the ferocity of a UGA. How does the Curtis
- 6:19Speaker 1: storyline just impact the entire day for this game?
- 6:24Speaker 2: I mean, I think that is the whole game, in
- 6:27Speaker 2: my opinion. If you look at Vandy's offense, really without him,
- 6:32Speaker 2: there's not much of an offense. They do not run
- 6:35Speaker 2: the ball well from a design run standpoint. They are
- 6:39Speaker 2: on their first contact yards per rush attempt. They're 66
- 6:43Speaker 2: out of 68 power floor teams. Against Auburn, they had
- 6:46Speaker 2: negative yards before contact in the rushing game. They ran
- 6:49Speaker 2: for 137 and had 150 yards after contact. A lot
- 6:53Speaker 2: of that was Jared Curtis scrambling around. I think he
- 6:56Speaker 2: had 101 yards rushing after contact in that Auburn game.
- 7:00Speaker 2: So if you put Blaise Berlowitz out there for Vanderbilt,
- 7:05Speaker 2: you're not going to get that same dynamic from an
- 7:07Speaker 2: athleticism standpoint. This has not been an offense that has
- 7:11Speaker 2: shown it can do much other than, like, take what
- 7:14Speaker 2: you give them in terms of throwing in front of
- 7:17Speaker 2: some linebackers maybe that are sitting in a zone or
- 7:20Speaker 2: chuck it deep with Jared Curtis making like five-star hero
- 7:24Speaker 2: throws and then letting him create kind of off-script, off-passing plays.
- 7:30Speaker 2: Their best running plays have been Jared Curtis running off-passing plays.
- 7:33Speaker 2: So without him, this game could get very, very sideways.
- 7:37Speaker 2: It could still get sideways with him. But to your point,
- 7:41Speaker 2: certainly– an interesting decision for Clark Lee, certainly an interesting
- 7:46Speaker 2: decision for Jared Curtis, quite frankly. Do you want to
- 7:49Speaker 2: walk out there and play this Georgia defense without a
- 7:54Speaker 2: great offensive line, without much of a run game to
- 7:57Speaker 2: support you and, and on a team that, I mean,
- 8:00Speaker 2: they can't protect play action passes. Like there's, there's not
- 8:03Speaker 2: much structure and things to lean on easy button wise
- 8:08Speaker 2: for their offense. They don't have a screen game. Like
- 8:10Speaker 2: this could be, a game where he does take a
- 8:13Speaker 2: lot of hits if he's going to play a competitive
- 8:17Speaker 2: brand of football. And I don't think that they're going
- 8:20Speaker 2: to trot him out there or that he wants to
- 8:22Speaker 2: trot out there to not be competitive or to throw
- 8:26Speaker 2: the ball in the dirt right before a hit comes on.
- 8:28Speaker 2: This is college football. This is not– this is college
- 8:32Speaker 2: football against Georgia's defensive line and Georgia's linebackers that have
- 8:36Speaker 2: guys like Chris Cole running around out there. So you
- 8:39Speaker 2: better– come correct and you better have the right mentality
- 8:42Speaker 2: going out there. If you play not to get hurt,
- 8:44Speaker 2: or if you play to protect yourself, sometimes that can
- 8:46Speaker 2: be even more dangerous.
- 8:47Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I agree. Is there anything, we saw Georgia's
- 8:51Speaker 1: offense at times look really good. Georgia's offense has looked good,
- 8:54Speaker 1: you know, throughout the season, but even against a really
- 8:56Speaker 1: good Oklahoma defense, is there anything that Vandy does scheme wise,
- 9:01Speaker 1: obviously talent for talent. We, we know what this matchup is,
- 9:04Speaker 1: but is there anything that Vandy does scheme wise that
- 9:06Speaker 1: could cause Georgia any kind of trouble? Because if it's
- 9:09Speaker 1: athlete on athlete, certainly, I don't know how intriguing the
- 9:13Speaker 1: analysis would be there. But with their scheme, with the
- 9:16Speaker 1: things that they'll try and do to pull the rabbit
- 9:18Speaker 1: out of the hat here and be competitive in the
- 9:21Speaker 1: fourth quarter, what do you think there?
- 9:23Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, they've got some interesting stuff going on defensively.
- 9:27Speaker 2: Their free safety, C.J. Hurd, number eight. I just thought
- 9:30Speaker 2: he was fun to watch in the Auburn tape. Like,
- 9:32Speaker 2: he took 10 snaps at edge, 37 snaps in the
- 9:33Speaker 2: box defensively. 20 snaps as a free safety, lined up
- 9:38Speaker 2: at corner, lined up over the slot. Like, he's all
- 9:41Speaker 2: over the place. And they kind of do that with
- 9:43Speaker 2: a couple of their pieces to try and muddy the
- 9:45Speaker 2: waters and confuse, hey, is this guy dropping in coverage
- 9:48Speaker 2: or is this guy coming on a blitz? Is he
- 9:51Speaker 2: here in run support? Similar to what Georgia saw against Arkansas. Like,
- 9:55Speaker 2: they'll use some creepers in the run game or they're
- 9:58Speaker 2: part of sort of their their sim pressure packages. So
- 10:03Speaker 2: Gunnar Stockton to this point in his career is certainly
- 10:05Speaker 2: been a guy who if you blitz him. And given
- 10:09Speaker 2: those man coverage looks, he usually looks way more comfortable.
- 10:12Speaker 2: So far this year, he's 26-35 for 500 yards and
- 10:16Speaker 2: seven touchdowns against the Blitz, so like 14.5 yards as
- 10:19Speaker 2: an attempt. He's really doing well. Teams have had success
- 10:24Speaker 2: against him. Like Georgia Tech had a lot of success
- 10:26Speaker 2: against him last year by just dropping eight out and
- 10:30Speaker 2: kind of really trying to muddy the short and intermediate line.
- 10:34Speaker 2: passing lanes and see how he reacts to that and
- 10:36Speaker 2: kind of make him live on small chunks. Vandy has
- 10:39Speaker 2: not done that to this point in the season, but
- 10:42Speaker 2: they will kind of switch in and out of some
- 10:46Speaker 2: pressure heavy stuff and then, and then dropping some exotic looks.
- 10:49Speaker 2: So they, they can certainly kind of pull some different
- 10:53Speaker 2: rabbits out of the hat to borrow your phrase. I
- 10:56Speaker 2: just don't know over the long haul in this game,
- 11:00Speaker 2: how much that, that will kind of add up, but they, they,
- 11:04Speaker 2: They do have a good pair of safeties that I
- 11:07Speaker 2: think can kind of help keep a lid on things
- 11:09Speaker 2: and maybe force Georgia to drive the field and not
- 11:12Speaker 2: just hit a lot of explosive plays.
- 11:15Speaker 1: Do you worry at all about Georgia coming off of
- 11:18Speaker 1: a big-time win, just less analytical, more big picture, coming
- 11:21Speaker 1: off of a big-time win against Oklahoma and having any
- 11:27Speaker 1: kind of a letdown? Because if you look at Vandy...
- 11:32Speaker 1: Their schedule is brutal. They do get the Arkansas game,
- 11:34Speaker 1: but every other game, Georgia this week, Ole Miss after that,
- 11:38Speaker 1: Arkansas is there, at Kentucky, at Kamario Taylor, against Alabama,
- 11:46Speaker 1: at Jaden Ball and Buster Faulkner, who we'll talk about
- 11:48Speaker 1: a little bit, and then Tennessee to finish things off.
- 11:52Speaker 1: You get the Arkansas game, but outside of that, it
- 11:54Speaker 1: is just complete. Every one of these teams could fight
- 11:57Speaker 1: for the playoff. Maybe Kentucky and Tennessee are a bit
- 11:59Speaker 1: of a stretch. But yeah, like if he's going to
- 12:03Speaker 1: have to knock somebody off to even get close to
- 12:05Speaker 1: bowl eligibility. So on the reverse side, if you're Georgia, like,
- 12:08Speaker 1: do you kind of worry about any, like, all right,
- 12:11Speaker 1: we sleepwalk through a game against Vanderbilt who seems to
- 12:13Speaker 1: have returned a little bit more to form of, of
- 12:15Speaker 1: what we've known Vandy as.
- 12:18Speaker 2: Uh, I would, if this, if this Oklahoma game that
- 12:22Speaker 2: they had just played had been a little more like
- 12:23Speaker 2: dramatic and intense, right. I, I think they came off
- 12:27Speaker 2: that game and the speech they got in the locker
- 12:29Speaker 2: room from Kirby was literally in line of, hey, congrats
- 12:34Speaker 2: on the win, but you guys didn't really knock them
- 12:36Speaker 2: out blow-to-blow physically the way that we want to knock
- 12:39Speaker 2: teams out. So I don't know that there was a
- 12:43Speaker 2: ton of praise. I think the reaction to that win
- 12:47Speaker 2: was a lot of people just saying, well, John Mateer sucks,
- 12:49Speaker 2: Oklahoma sucks. Of course Georgia beat them, right? And I'm
- 12:53Speaker 2: not saying that's fair or even necessarily– all the way accurate.
- 12:58Speaker 2: But that's how the national media and some of the
- 13:01Speaker 2: local media even have interpreted that game. I think the
- 13:05Speaker 2: spot to look for Georgia possibly in a letdown would
- 13:08Speaker 2: be if they go to Tuscaloosa and beat Alabama and
- 13:12Speaker 2: then come home the next week and have to play
- 13:13Speaker 2: an Auburn team that looks kind of shaky so far
- 13:16Speaker 2: this year, that would be the time to look for them.
- 13:20Speaker 2: Because if they win at Alabama, that would be something
- 13:22Speaker 2: they haven't done since 2007.
- 13:24Speaker 1: 24.5 point spread. Saban's first year, you just mentioned that.
- 13:28Speaker 1: Alabama game. Also lost to UNLM before terrorizing college football
- 13:33Speaker 1: for a decade and a half. But 24.5 point spread.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Is this a spread that Georgia covers if they want to? Obviously,
- 13:40Speaker 1: Curtis's injury makes an impact, but is it kind of
- 13:43Speaker 1: like if Kirby wants to cover the spread, they'll cover
- 13:45Speaker 1: the spread? Not that he cares about the specific number,
- 13:47Speaker 1: but if he wants to leave guys in, they'll probably
- 13:50Speaker 1: get there? Or were your thoughts around... taking the line.
- 13:53Speaker 1: Cause I'll tell you, I'm diving full in on, on
- 13:55Speaker 1: the line. I, if that's a trap by Vegas, then
- 13:58Speaker 1: I'll fall into it, man. Bring it on. The BYU
- 14:05Speaker 1: spread went from seven and a half and now it's
- 14:07Speaker 1: down to like five and a half now. And you're like, Ooh,
- 14:09Speaker 1: it's on the road. It's a TCU. I'll still take it. Whatever, man.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Like bring it on, man.
- 14:13Speaker 2: If I got to be a sucker, I'll be one
- 14:16Speaker 2: that I can, I can bet against Georgia at home, potentially, uh,
- 14:21Speaker 2: against a used blaze Berlowitz. It's only 24 and a
- 14:25Speaker 2: half points. Come on, man. Where's my mortgage payment for
- 14:28Speaker 2: this month? Yeah.
- 14:29Speaker 1: Put it all in black.
- 14:31Speaker 2: Yeah. No, I like Georgia has been covering the spread
- 14:36Speaker 2: this year. It's, it's a thing that's happened. Uh, the,
- 14:40Speaker 2: the Oklahoma game last week and, and really every game
- 14:43Speaker 2: they've played, like Kirby was so angry after, uh, their
- 14:50Speaker 2: second game of the year because they're, they put their
- 14:52Speaker 2: backups in on defense and their backups like gave up
- 14:55Speaker 2: some points to Western Kentucky. And then he was pissed
- 14:58Speaker 2: about it after the Arkansas game, but Val did not
- 15:00Speaker 2: let it ruin his day. And then like, you could
- 15:03Speaker 2: tell he was angry about it again after the Oklahoma game.
- 15:07Speaker 2: Cause Mateer and the Oklahoma starters went in when Georgia
- 15:10Speaker 2: put their backups. So I just, that will be the
- 15:14Speaker 2: interesting angle really. Like I could see Georgia getting a lead.
- 15:18Speaker 2: to cover this spread. And then Vandy, if they decide
- 15:23Speaker 2: to try and like, if Curtis does play and they
- 15:26Speaker 2: leave Curtis in this game, certainly see him coming in
- 15:30Speaker 2: and like dotting up a bunch of freshmen for a
- 15:33Speaker 2: couple of touchdown passes late. So the, the angle to
- 15:37Speaker 2: play this game might be first half, honestly. It is
- 15:40Speaker 2: supposed to rain on Saturday in Athens, or they're calling
- 15:44Speaker 2: for a good chance of rain in the forecast.
- 15:45Speaker 1: Rainy everywhere in the southeast, yeah.
- 15:47Speaker 2: Yeah, so that could certainly contribute to the point total
- 15:52Speaker 2: in this game and make it a little sloppy. If
- 15:53Speaker 2: that happens, I actually think it favors Georgia because I
- 15:55Speaker 2: think Vandy's whole offense at this point is pretty much
- 15:58Speaker 2: like hope. Curtis makes a god-tier throw downfield. I will
- 16:06Speaker 2: be picking Georgia to cover this spread, especially I like
- 16:12Speaker 2: them to cover it anyways, but if there's a world
- 16:15Speaker 2: out there where it's possible that Curtis might not play
- 16:17Speaker 2: or that Curtis could take a hit that gets him
- 16:22Speaker 2: leaving this game early or anything like that, then you
- 16:24Speaker 2: could see a lot of three and outs from Vanderbilt.
- 16:28Speaker 1: I am quickly looking up just to see what it
- 16:32Speaker 1: looks like. The halftime spread on this and I don't
- 16:37Speaker 1: know why I'm struggling to find it I don't want
- 16:39Speaker 1: to spend a ton of time scrolling through my phone
- 16:42Speaker 1: but I would be interested in what that halftime spread
- 16:48Speaker 1: is and if you like it maybe a good play
- 16:50Speaker 1: for people that yeah here we go halves Georgia minus
- 16:54Speaker 1: 14 and a half so the hook is there but
- 17:00Speaker 1: I feel like that's a pretty good number so pretty good.
- 17:02Speaker 2: Number man I think they've been a hot starting team
- 17:06Speaker 2: so far this year. Yeah.
- 17:07Speaker 1: And I think you do worry about the backdoor cover
- 17:09Speaker 1: in any kind of game. What's a big spread backups
- 17:12Speaker 1: get in? How much does Georgia care to not care,
- 17:16Speaker 1: but like they're not going to put their starters back
- 17:18Speaker 1: in to cover a spread. Right.
- 17:20Speaker 2: So could be a Ryan Puglisi legacy game though. I mean,
- 17:23Speaker 2: Kirby has been like cutting the backup quarterbacks loose a
- 17:26Speaker 2: little bit more this year. Imagine Ryan Puglisi going out
- 17:30Speaker 2: and out-dueling five-star Jared Curtis, who was going to come
- 17:34Speaker 2: and take his job, who everyone was ready to sell
- 17:37Speaker 2: him down the river for. Could be a pretty awesome
- 17:41Speaker 2: coded moment for those that understand the significance.
- 17:45Speaker 1: Yeah, the recruiting psychopaths like some of us tend to be.
- 17:50Speaker 1: So let me take a real quick break. Let's give
- 17:52Speaker 1: price picks. If you play a $ 5 lineup for $ 100,
- 17:57Speaker 1: on the price picks app using code HMA. If you
- 17:59Speaker 1: win that your first lineup, you get $ 150 instantly. If
- 18:03Speaker 1: you want a lineup, that's a winner this week. I've
- 18:06Speaker 1: got it for you. Bo Pribula 0.5 passing touchdowns, Jaden
- 18:11Speaker 1: ball 0.5 anytime touchdowns. Jaden ball is going to score
- 18:15Speaker 1: on the road up at Missouri. They're going to hand
- 18:17Speaker 1: him the ball 25 times as good as Duke Clark
- 18:19Speaker 1: has been. That will be a really good one for
- 18:22Speaker 1: you to go out and get Florida state's passing defense.
- 18:25Speaker 1: Absolutely terrible. Say that as an FSU guy, Bo Pribula
- 18:29Speaker 1: will throw for a passing touchdown. Now, normally this would
- 18:32Speaker 1: only pay out $ 6 on a $ 20 lineup, but because
- 18:35Speaker 1: of the bonus, you get $ 150 in bonus bets if
- 18:38Speaker 1: you use code HMA and it's your first time. So
- 18:40Speaker 1: you want to up your ante, put $ 5 in, use
- 18:43Speaker 1: our code, go set that lineup, go win it. Low
- 18:46Speaker 1: payout normally, but $ 150 this week if you use the
- 18:48Speaker 1: code HMA. We will go to the ACC for a
- 18:55Speaker 1: few minutes, and Miami and Clemson face off in Clemson,
- 19:01Speaker 1: South Carolina. We talked about the weather in the game
- 19:05Speaker 1: for Georgia. Not too far away is Clemson, South Carolina. Again,
- 19:08Speaker 1: we may get rain across the entire southeast. It could
- 19:11Speaker 1: be an impact on every single game that happens from
- 19:13Speaker 1: Mississippi State, Bama to Florida, Missouri, all the way down
- 19:17Speaker 1: here to Tallahassee and Virginia. later. So Clemson and Miami, Miami,
- 19:22Speaker 1: a big favorite in this one. I think it's 16
- 19:24Speaker 1: and a half or so Clemson undefeated since losing against
- 19:28Speaker 1: LSU early again, presented by prize picks, but Graham, big
- 19:30Speaker 1: picture thoughts on this one.
- 19:33Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, I think this is a fun, interesting game.
- 19:37Speaker 2: I think everybody assumes that Miami is going to like
- 19:39Speaker 2: roll in there and stomp out Clemson. There's kind of
- 19:42Speaker 2: this idea of Miami as this dominant force, which I
- 19:46Speaker 2: totally understand they're coming off a national title game appearance.
- 19:49Speaker 1: During.
- 19:50Speaker 2: Mensah is playing at a very high level. You've got
- 19:54Speaker 2: Malachi Tony. You've got Mark Fletcher. You've got the star
- 19:58Speaker 2: Damon Wilson coming off the edge. They've got the pieces.
- 20:01Speaker 2: They have the big names. But I am interested to see,
- 20:05Speaker 2: can Clemson offer some resistance in this game Defensively, Clemson
- 20:09Speaker 2: has been playing really well, honestly, since that LSU game.
- 20:13Speaker 2: I thought they played really well with Cal. They handled
- 20:17Speaker 2: JKS in a pretty impressive way. I thought they've started
- 20:22Speaker 2: to find some pressure. Some of these kind of young,
- 20:25Speaker 2: like last wave of heralded blue chip Dabo recruits like
- 20:30Speaker 2: Sammy Brown are growing up a little bit. And then offensively,
- 20:34Speaker 2: it does work. seem like they're maybe kind of like
- 20:37Speaker 2: finding some footing. I thought Chad Morris sneakily called a
- 20:40Speaker 2: very good game against Cal, like big downs. There were
- 20:44Speaker 2: some nice things they did in the run game and
- 20:46Speaker 2: hit some things that I think caught Cal by surprise.
- 20:50Speaker 2: So this could be our first chance. I know that
- 20:55Speaker 2: Miami ended up sort of in a little bit of
- 20:57Speaker 2: a sweaty situation with Wake Forest late in that game
- 21:01Speaker 2: in Winston-Salem on a Friday night, but this could be
- 21:03Speaker 2: our first chance to Just kind of see somebody with
- 21:06Speaker 2: a few more bodies that resemble what Miami has on
- 21:11Speaker 2: its roster.
- 21:12Speaker 1: Yeah, no, I agree with that. And again, you factor
- 21:14Speaker 1: in the weather. You also think about where Miami has struggled.
- 21:19Speaker 1: They've not been good the last two weeks. I believe
- 21:22Speaker 1: it's either 18 or 20 combined penalties the last two
- 21:24Speaker 1: games that Miami has played. You certainly don't want to
- 21:27Speaker 1: go on the road to Death Valley and let that
- 21:29Speaker 1: be a factor. Number two, they've not been good on
- 21:33Speaker 1: the interior of the offensive line. And that has impacted
- 21:37Speaker 1: the running game. And Mario Cristobal has called it out. Obviously,
- 21:41Speaker 1: that's a passion of his, being an offensive line guy.
- 21:43Speaker 1: And their fan base is not super happy with where
- 21:46Speaker 1: the interior of that offensive line is. Is Vic back?
- 21:50Speaker 1: I know he was suspended for an undetermined amount of time.
- 21:54Speaker 1: But is Vic back for Clemson? Because I think that
- 21:57Speaker 1: could have a big impact. I should know that, since
- 21:59Speaker 1: we're here two days from the game. but can probably
- 22:03Speaker 1: the best defensive front that Miami seen so far. I mean,
- 22:05Speaker 1: you're thinking Stanford fam, you central Michigan and wake forest
- 22:09Speaker 1: with or without him. I think this is probably going
- 22:12Speaker 1: to be one of the better fronts that you've seen defensively.
- 22:15Speaker 1: I wouldn't call them elite by any means, but one
- 22:17Speaker 1: of the better fronts in the ACC for sure. What does,
- 22:20Speaker 1: what does Miami's offensive line look like up front? Um,
- 22:24Speaker 1: and in that middle, um, to go up against the best.
- 22:29Speaker 1: If you're getting pushed back against Stanford, Wake, FAMU, and
- 22:33Speaker 1: Central Michigan at times, obviously they dominated FAMU, and they
- 22:37Speaker 1: looked better against Central Michigan too. But if you're getting
- 22:39Speaker 1: pushed back in some of your power for competition, and
- 22:41Speaker 1: then you've got to go on the road at Clemson,
- 22:43Speaker 1: and that interior of the offensive line hasn't, whether it's
- 22:46Speaker 1: gelled together or figured some things out or adjusted some technique,
- 22:50Speaker 1: whatever the fix is there for Coach Mirabelle, that is
- 22:53Speaker 1: a big question to me. And we... If you need
- 22:57Speaker 1: any example of what defensive line pressure can do for
- 23:00Speaker 1: a team, go look at Knoxville last week, where both
- 23:03Speaker 1: defensive lines combined for, you know, as good as Colin
- 23:05Speaker 1: Simmons was, both defensive lines combined for 16 sacks. I mean,
- 23:10Speaker 1: they wrecked both offensive game plans for large parts of
- 23:14Speaker 1: that game. I do think that if you look talent
- 23:17Speaker 1: on talent, yeah, Miami should win this game. There's a
- 23:19Speaker 1: reason they're a 17 point, 16 and a half point
- 23:21Speaker 1: favorite on the road. But if you're starting to think
- 23:23Speaker 1: about like, okay, well, what do we need to do
- 23:26Speaker 1: to compete not just on the road at Clemson, but
- 23:29Speaker 1: then beyond it all starts up front and a Miami
- 23:32Speaker 1: fans know that Miami staff knows that because they watched
- 23:34Speaker 1: what their team was able to do last year. They
- 23:36Speaker 1: were able to bully most teams they played up front
- 23:38Speaker 1: and it's not been the same level from the interior
- 23:41Speaker 1: offensive line perspective. And that's the biggest thing that I
- 23:44Speaker 1: want answered. I know that Darian Mintz is probably going
- 23:47Speaker 1: to have more touchdowns than incompletions on Saturday. I know
- 23:49Speaker 1: that Malachi Tony, if he gets the ball in space
- 23:51Speaker 1: is probably going to do something special. I know that
- 23:53Speaker 1: David Wilson will probably make a big player too. Um, Conversely,
- 23:57Speaker 1: I know that Clemson's wide receivers can probably make a
- 24:00Speaker 1: play or two against this secondary that's a little bit
- 24:01Speaker 1: banged up for Miami. But if you're Miami, to me,
- 24:05Speaker 1: it's not just about winning this game, which Mario would
- 24:07Speaker 1: disagree and say it's just about going 1-0 here. But
- 24:10Speaker 1: I think it's a little bigger picture in, OK, is
- 24:12Speaker 1: this really a team that's going to go compete for
- 24:14Speaker 1: it all? Or do they have two bigger questions on
- 24:16Speaker 1: the offensive line in the secondary with penalties and composure there?
- 24:22Speaker 1: to really put them in that elite category. And I
- 24:24Speaker 1: think some of those questions start to get answered against
- 24:26Speaker 1: the best front they've played all year.
- 24:28Speaker 2: Yeah, 100%. And I think that you look at Miami,
- 24:32Speaker 2: their offense, like if you look at their kind of
- 24:36Speaker 2: radar chart, right? Like game on paper, if you look
- 24:40Speaker 2: at their radar chart over here, past success rate, yards
- 24:44Speaker 2: of drop back, past EPA, like all of these advanced
- 24:47Speaker 2: stats in the past game, very good. Their success rates,
- 24:51Speaker 2: on late downs, very good, low average third down distance,
- 24:56Speaker 2: like lots of stuff that you like, but they don't
- 25:00Speaker 2: run the ball explosively. And really they, they have not,
- 25:04Speaker 2: despite Malachi Tony's just, just being Malachi Tony and being
- 25:09Speaker 2: maybe the coolest player in college football, they've not actually
- 25:13Speaker 2: been that overly explosive in the past game either. And
- 25:17Speaker 2: so that, that part is interesting. I think that Clemson,
- 25:21Speaker 2: It would surprise me a little bit just with how
- 25:24Speaker 2: Miami has been over the last few weeks for them
- 25:28Speaker 2: to come in and just run the ball down Clemson's throat.
- 25:31Speaker 2: I agree with what you said about the interior Miami's
- 25:34Speaker 2: offensive line, but I would point out that even Okunlola
- 25:39Speaker 2: at tackle has not been very good in the run
- 25:43Speaker 2: game to this point in the year. We know that
- 25:46Speaker 2: he's got all the tools to be a dominant zone
- 25:49Speaker 2: run blocker, but there are some things that just haven't
- 25:52Speaker 2: quite come together and maybe that's kind of a product of,
- 25:56Speaker 2: of beating the crap out of people. Right. And, and,
- 25:58Speaker 2: and not being pushed a little bit, but I do
- 26:03Speaker 2: think that Clemson can probably put them into more third
- 26:08Speaker 2: and longs and put them into some more situations and
- 26:12Speaker 2: maybe have some athletes to, to at least like not
- 26:16Speaker 2: take Tony away. You're not going to take him away, but, uh,
- 26:19Speaker 2: force Mensah to get off Tony and into some other
- 26:22Speaker 2: reads at times. And we, we saw Wake Forest kind
- 26:25Speaker 2: of adjust in the second half of that game and
- 26:29Speaker 2: force him off some of his first reads. And he
- 26:32Speaker 2: did not look as comfortable as he had looked to
- 26:34Speaker 2: that point in the season. Right. So I, I'm not,
- 26:38Speaker 2: I would be shocked if Clemson, you know, won this
- 26:41Speaker 2: game somehow or anything like that. But I, I wouldn't
- 26:44Speaker 2: be shocked if this game is, you know, 10 points
- 26:47Speaker 2: at halftime and, 14 going into the fourth quarter or
- 26:51Speaker 2: something like that, and there's at least a little bit
- 26:54Speaker 2: of resistance.
- 26:58Speaker 1: I was trying to steal your word, but you got
- 27:00Speaker 1: it out before I could. Vic is back. He was
- 27:04Speaker 1: back for the UNC game. Sorry that I've missed that,
- 27:07Speaker 1: but has played in the last two games, so he'll
- 27:08Speaker 1: be there. So again, Miami's interior offensive line, the task
- 27:11Speaker 1: gets a little tougher with one of Clemson's better players back.
- 27:15Speaker 1: The big question I would have is Clemson's offense, and
- 27:17Speaker 1: I think you think about the way this game may
- 27:20Speaker 1: play out. And I think it is absolutely plausible that
- 27:24Speaker 1: this game, I mean, we already saw it once that
- 27:26Speaker 1: this game does get away from Clemson. And if Miami
- 27:29Speaker 1: starts to get things rolling at all, you wonder about
- 27:32Speaker 1: Clemson's ability to fight back and respond against a defense
- 27:36Speaker 1: that does present a lot of pressure up front. I
- 27:39Speaker 1: think they can be gotten with how good Clemson's weapons
- 27:42Speaker 1: are on, you know, their wide outs. But if, If
- 27:45Speaker 1: a young quarterback going up against one of the better
- 27:48Speaker 1: defensive lines as far as pressure rates go in the conference,
- 27:52Speaker 1: if he doesn't have time, then I don't care if
- 27:54Speaker 1: you've got two Jeremiah Smiths out there. You've got to
- 27:56Speaker 1: have time to get him the ball. So I guess
- 27:59Speaker 1: my biggest question would be how much success, because I
- 28:03Speaker 1: do think he's been building. I think you're exactly right
- 28:04Speaker 1: on where Tate Reynolds is now versus where he was
- 28:06Speaker 1: three weeks ago. I think he's been improving. It's just
- 28:09Speaker 1: a really stiff test this weekend against Miami. How effective
- 28:13Speaker 1: do you think their offense can be And I would
- 28:17Speaker 1: guess the follow-up to that is, if it's not very effective,
- 28:19Speaker 1: then that's where I think this thing could turn into
- 28:23Speaker 1: non-competitive in the second half. Which is a very realistic route.
- 28:28Speaker 2: Their offense has been really bad in a lot of respects.
- 28:32Speaker 2: I mean, it's hard to point to anything that they've
- 28:36Speaker 2: done well with consistency. Their defense... you know, lately has
- 28:45Speaker 2: kind of, I think the defense has risen its level
- 28:48Speaker 2: and Reynolds did start to do some things in the second,
- 28:51Speaker 2: third and fourth quarters on the road at Cal where
- 28:53Speaker 2: you're like, okay, like I see it, you know, like you're,
- 28:56Speaker 2: you're managing things and you're, you're making some throws over
- 28:59Speaker 2: the middle and just putting together some decent offense that,
- 29:05Speaker 2: that built into drives and eventually built into some explosive
- 29:08Speaker 2: plays for them in the run game. Right. Which is
- 29:10Speaker 2: not something that we saw at all. in Baton Rouge
- 29:14Speaker 2: in week one. I know that Cal's defensive personnel is
- 29:17Speaker 2: not LSU's defensive personnel, but still I, I, I did
- 29:22Speaker 2: think like you had a moment with Tate Reynolds there
- 29:25Speaker 2: a little bit on the road, 3000 miles from home.
- 29:29Speaker 2: That might be significant for, for him and his career
- 29:32Speaker 2: and just for this Clemson season and for Davos kind
- 29:35Speaker 2: of career arc at this point as well, in the
- 29:37Speaker 2: sense of like in this ACC, maybe Clemson can scratch
- 29:42Speaker 2: out like a 9-3 season or an 8-4 season. And
- 29:45Speaker 2: if they do that, then I don't know that some
- 29:48Speaker 2: of the conversations we were having after week one are
- 29:51Speaker 2: going to be relevant anymore. So I think that this
- 29:55Speaker 2: Clemson offense, can they pass block? affect like Miami, you know, honestly, the,
- 30:03Speaker 2: with the ACC not doing the injury report deal that,
- 30:09Speaker 2: that we've seen from the SEC, it's hard to know
- 30:11Speaker 2: what Miami's defensive secondary personnel is going to look like.
- 30:15Speaker 2: Cause I think you saw them feel the lack of
- 30:19Speaker 2: presence of some of those injured corners against wake forest
- 30:23Speaker 2: in the second half of that game. And, uh, I
- 30:26Speaker 2: could see Clemson being able to take advantage of something
- 30:28Speaker 2: like that. And honestly, the thing that would help Clemson
- 30:32Speaker 2: pass protect for Reynolds some would be if, if Miami's
- 30:36Speaker 2: not maybe all the way where they want to be
- 30:38Speaker 2: from a personnel standpoint in the secondary, because truthfully, like,
- 30:41Speaker 2: I don't know, you want to leave some of those
- 30:43Speaker 2: backup corners on an Island. It probably forces Miami into
- 30:46Speaker 2: playing some more zones, which probably kind of limits some
- 30:49Speaker 2: of the pressure package options that they have on the
- 30:51Speaker 2: table in front of them. So, That, to me, is
- 30:54Speaker 2: probably a huge storyline, like how that looks in the
- 30:58Speaker 2: hour or two before this game. If that information is
- 31:01Speaker 2: out there, that could certainly influence whether I want to
- 31:05Speaker 2: bet on this game or who I want to bet
- 31:07Speaker 2: on in this game. But I think that Clemson can
- 31:11Speaker 2: put together some drives in this game where maybe they
- 31:16Speaker 2: can just kind of stack some small gains. And they're
- 31:19Speaker 2: going to challenge them. They will challenge Miami. in the
- 31:23Speaker 2: sense of, let's be honest, like in the fourth quarter
- 31:26Speaker 2: in Winston-Salem the other night, Damon Wilson looked 15 pounds
- 31:30Speaker 2: overweight and a little bit gassed and was coming off
- 31:32Speaker 2: the field. Like there were sort of some of those
- 31:35Speaker 2: types of things that were happening for Miami and not
- 31:39Speaker 2: across the board by any means at all. But I'm
- 31:43Speaker 2: curious to see if Clemson can just sustain a little
- 31:48Speaker 2: bit of not even necessarily drives that get points, at times,
- 31:53Speaker 2: but can your bad drives be six, seven, eight plays
- 31:57Speaker 2: instead of three and out? Because if so, that might
- 32:02Speaker 2: add up on Miami a little bit as this game
- 32:04Speaker 2: goes along.
- 32:08Speaker 1: I am very interested from the Clemson perspective. You talked
- 32:11Speaker 1: about a team that can maybe eke out eight, nine,
- 32:16Speaker 1: maybe even ten wins. When you look at their schedule
- 32:19Speaker 1: the rest of the way, and Football weekends don't happen
- 32:23Speaker 1: in a vacuum. Injuries pile up. Certainly, it's easy to
- 32:27Speaker 1: do this right now on October 1st. Miami this weekend,
- 32:30Speaker 1: Charleston Southern next week, they should win. Virginia Tech's a
- 32:33Speaker 1: fun story. They're a dog right now, I think, to pit.
- 32:36Speaker 1: They could have a loss coming into that October 24th
- 32:39Speaker 1: game in two weeks. They might have two losses coming
- 32:41Speaker 1: into that game. We'll see how the season plays out.
- 32:44Speaker 1: They weren't overly inspiring last weekend, but Clemson could win
- 32:47Speaker 1: that game at home. They go to Florida State, where
- 32:49Speaker 1: I think, again, good game, but I think they're a
- 32:52Speaker 1: little bit better than the Seminoles. They should beat Syracuse.
- 32:55Speaker 1: I think Georgia Tech's a mess right now. Duke is undefeated, too,
- 32:59Speaker 1: right now, but we'll see where they are in late November.
- 33:02Speaker 1: And then South Carolina, who's also a mess. There's a
- 33:04Speaker 1: lot of winnable games on the back half of this schedule.
- 33:06Speaker 1: I don't know that I would take the over on 9.5.
- 33:10Speaker 1: But I would probably take the over on eight and
- 33:12Speaker 1: a half. And you're talking if Clemson can kind of
- 33:14Speaker 1: just hold serve for a lot of this season, they
- 33:18Speaker 1: could finish 10-2, 9-3 probably at worst, and two of
- 33:24Speaker 1: their losses beat a top 10 teams in LSU and Miami.
- 33:27Speaker 1: And that's not the Clemson standard. I know that's not
- 33:30Speaker 1: what Dabo built in 2016 and 2018. But if you
- 33:34Speaker 1: are basically the best of that next tier and your
- 33:37Speaker 1: only two losses are to Miami and LSU, I'd also say, man,
- 33:41Speaker 1: you can't let what happened to LSU, you can't let
- 33:43Speaker 1: a snowball like that happen. Because at 10-2 with a
- 33:47Speaker 1: close loss to Miami, maybe you make it into Charlotte
- 33:50Speaker 1: with a one-loss ACC record.
- 33:52Speaker 2: You're kind of.
- 33:53Speaker 1: Getting talked about in some conversations that would happen. Not
- 33:56Speaker 1: that I think Clemson is really deserving of a playoff
- 33:58Speaker 1: spot right now. That's not the argument I'm trying to make.
- 34:00Speaker 1: But 10-2 with losses to Miami and LSU is not
- 34:04Speaker 1: the worst thing. when we think about what those teams
- 34:07Speaker 1: are and might be this year. But if you lose
- 34:09Speaker 1: both of them by 50, like you did week one,
- 34:12Speaker 1: then I think you're kind of seen as a paper
- 34:14Speaker 1: champion at that point, or a paper 10-win season. So
- 34:19Speaker 1: I would like to, for Clemson's sake, I would like
- 34:21Speaker 1: to see them be competitive in this game because then
- 34:23Speaker 1: that does give me hope over these last seven weeks of, yeah,
- 34:26Speaker 1: they're probably going to beat everybody else on their schedule.
- 34:28Speaker 1: Not that you can't slip up in Doak or can't
- 34:30Speaker 1: slip up to James Franklin or Lenore Sellers couldn't have
- 34:32Speaker 1: a go-off game in a rivalry. He's done it before.
- 34:35Speaker 1: But yeah, I think that the way that Clemson looks,
- 34:38Speaker 1: even in a potential loss, if they cover the spread,
- 34:41Speaker 1: I'll tell you that. If they cover the spread, I'd
- 34:43Speaker 1: feel a lot more confident about the direction that Clemson's
- 34:44Speaker 1: season is heading. Though, you know, I don't think this
- 34:48Speaker 1: is a playoff team that goes and wins multiple games
- 34:50Speaker 1: or anything like that. But I'd feel better about where
- 34:52Speaker 1: they were overall.
- 34:54Speaker 2: Well, I mean, the other side of it, too, is
- 34:57Speaker 2: just what were the reactions when Davo hired Chad Morris, right? Like,
- 35:03Speaker 2: There's some of that there where it looked like he
- 35:06Speaker 2: was kind of getting into a little bit of old
- 35:10Speaker 2: man bunker mentality. Maybe the old man's lost it and
- 35:18Speaker 2: he's a little bit potentially not. But he could also
- 35:22Speaker 2: go out in this game and get his ass beat, TJ.
- 35:25Speaker 2: That's very much on the table. So I don't want
- 35:27Speaker 2: to get too excited or positive on him quite yet here.
- 35:31Speaker 1: But I.
- 35:33Speaker 2: Do have a hunch a little bit that maybe it's
- 35:39Speaker 2: a backdoor cover or something like that. But this game
- 35:42Speaker 2: right now, you know, it's sitting at 16 and a
- 35:46Speaker 2: half in a lot of places, which I would love
- 35:51Speaker 2: to bet it at 17 and a half. There are
- 35:52Speaker 2: a couple that have it at 17. But, you know,
- 35:56Speaker 2: I think Clemson kind of hangs around. Maybe it's a
- 35:59Speaker 2: backdoor cover type of scenario. I could certainly see that.
- 36:04Speaker 2: But I think that they'll offer some resistance to Miami's
- 36:08Speaker 2: offense and maybe just kind of force– whether it's Miami
- 36:12Speaker 2: comes out on the opening script and goes for a
- 36:15Speaker 2: touchdown and then Clemson adjusts to that and it stays
- 36:20Speaker 2: kind of within 7-10 for a little while, or it
- 36:22Speaker 2: is the opposite scenario where Clemson shuts them down early
- 36:27Speaker 2: and then Miami kind of gets it in gear. I
- 36:30Speaker 2: expect Miami to pull away in this game, but I
- 36:32Speaker 2: am going to take Clemson and the, and the points.
- 36:36Speaker 1: I will go the other way. I hope I'm wrong
- 36:38Speaker 1: on that just for Clemson sake, like to, to have
- 36:40Speaker 1: them be a little more competitive this year. Cause I
- 36:43Speaker 1: think it, I'm not one of these big, like, Oh,
- 36:45Speaker 1: college football is better when college football is always great.
- 36:47Speaker 1: So I'm not, but I do like to see, you know, I, I,
- 36:51Speaker 1: I would like to see Clemson be a little more competitive.
- 36:53Speaker 1: I'll tell you for Miami sake, I think the exact
- 36:55Speaker 1: opposite exists. Like I, I think they need to not
- 36:57Speaker 1: have another scrape by an, an ACC team that we
- 37:00Speaker 1: don't think is great. Um, And, you know, dilly-dally around
- 37:06Speaker 1: through the whole season and then get to the playoff
- 37:09Speaker 1: and you're like, oh wow, this is actual competition. I
- 37:12Speaker 1: know they have to go to South Bend. So I
- 37:14Speaker 1: think both teams kind of, I don't know how important
- 37:16Speaker 1: it is for teams to cover the spread. I know
- 37:18Speaker 1: that weather and backdoor covers and things like play into
- 37:21Speaker 1: all that, but I think it's a game where Miami
- 37:24Speaker 1: really needs to look impressive and it's a game where,
- 37:27Speaker 1: because people will be watching, and it's a game where
- 37:31Speaker 1: Miami needs to, or Clemson needs to go out and, and,
- 37:34Speaker 1: and look competent as well. So, uh, interesting, but I
- 37:38Speaker 1: will take the other line. I'll, I'll take Miami to, uh,
- 37:40Speaker 1: to find a way to get it done. Last up today,
- 37:44Speaker 1: Miami's rivals, Florida goes up to Missouri. I think Florida
- 37:48Speaker 1: has handled every test so far. They took care of
- 37:50Speaker 1: bad teams the way you're supposed to. They went on
- 37:52Speaker 1: the road and won, I think convincingly, even though it
- 37:54Speaker 1: was just five points at Jordan hair and then put a, uh,
- 37:58Speaker 1: probably the singular most impressive result, um, that anybody's had
- 38:02Speaker 1: so far this year in the way that they dismantled No.
- 38:05Speaker 1: 4 Ole Miss. Their offense is legit. I want to
- 38:08Speaker 1: get your thoughts on whether or not Florida can handle
- 38:11Speaker 1: now a new challenge of being the hunted, not the hunter.
- 38:15Speaker 1: This is presented by PrizePix. Talk more about them later.
- 38:18Speaker 1: Thoughts around Florida and Missouri.
- 38:22Speaker 2: This is an interesting game. This line stinks to high heaven, man.
- 38:27Speaker 2: It is very strange. It really gives me some Some pause.
- 38:31Speaker 2: It feels kind of similar. Not totally similar because Florida
- 38:36Speaker 2: was favored last week by like over a field goal,
- 38:39Speaker 2: but they opened as a two and a half point
- 38:42Speaker 2: favorite in this game. They're sitting at four and a
- 38:45Speaker 2: half to five and a half right now. The Florida Gators,
- 38:49Speaker 2: the ones that are the I mean, we're having a
- 38:52Speaker 2: spurrier fun and gun era renaissance with Buster Faulkner and
- 38:56Speaker 2: the boys and Jaden Baugh and doing the damn thing.
- 38:59Speaker 2: It's just odd. It is odd. They've already been on
- 39:02Speaker 2: the road in the SEC, which is usually where we
- 39:05Speaker 2: see teams slip up is that first road game. There
- 39:09Speaker 2: is some recent history, not with this regime of Florida,
- 39:15Speaker 2: but Missouri has been a bit of a thumbtack on
- 39:20Speaker 2: the floor in Florida's heel for a little while. It
- 39:27Speaker 2: feels like This could be an opportunity for Florida to
- 39:30Speaker 2: kind of show like, yeah, this, like if they go
- 39:32Speaker 2: and dominate Missouri, I'm not sure that it changes my
- 39:36Speaker 2: view of them as a potential national title contender, but
- 39:39Speaker 2: it does change my view of them as like, okay, yeah,
- 39:42Speaker 2: this is, this is really serious. This wasn't, they got
- 39:46Speaker 2: Ole Miss off the lane train hangover and, and caught
- 39:49Speaker 2: him in a good spot. Now, the thing that is
- 39:51Speaker 2: a little giving me pause is I just worked on
- 39:55Speaker 2: our preview content for the Georgia-Vanderbilt game, which meant I
- 40:01Speaker 2: watched the All-22 tape from the Vanderbilt-Auburn game, and that's
- 40:07Speaker 2: a bad Auburn offense, man. It's a really, really bad
- 40:10Speaker 2: Auburn offense. Vanderbilt, who gave up 35, I think it was,
- 40:14Speaker 2: to NC State, they shut that Auburn offense down and
- 40:19Speaker 2: held them to 14, and somehow that group put up
- 40:23Speaker 2: 39 on Florida. So I am having a little bit
- 40:26Speaker 2: of second thoughts on this Florida defense, and I'm guessing
- 40:29Speaker 2: that's why this line is where it is.
- 40:31Speaker 1: Yeah, I also wonder, too, and I'm almost to the
- 40:37Speaker 1: point now, and I believe the ESPN analytics say that
- 40:40Speaker 1: if Florida wins this game, they have a 62% chance
- 40:42Speaker 1: to make the college football playoff. You look at the
- 40:44Speaker 1: rest of their schedule, and Kentucky's on there, and Oklahoma's
- 40:48Speaker 1: on there, Florida State, Vandy, they should win. I think
- 40:52Speaker 1: they should win all of those games. The game at
- 40:54Speaker 1: Kentucky probably gives you a little bit of like, we'll see,
- 40:56Speaker 1: South Carolina's on there. They're two tough games against Texas
- 40:59Speaker 1: and Georgia. One of those happening in the state of Georgia,
- 41:02Speaker 1: one happening in the state of Texas. Neutral for one,
- 41:05Speaker 1: but we'll see when we get to Atlanta. They still
- 41:09Speaker 1: have to travel further than they've ever had to travel
- 41:12Speaker 1: to get to this game distance-wise. So I do think
- 41:16Speaker 1: that if Florida can win this one and prove that
- 41:18Speaker 1: they can go on the road, that is a big deal.
- 41:20Speaker 1: I think they've been a top two or three impressive
- 41:25Speaker 1: team in college football. Like, if you want to say
- 41:27Speaker 1: Texas has been better, being in Knoxville last week, that offense,
- 41:33Speaker 1: as good as their defense was, their offense was equally
- 41:35Speaker 1: as not impressive to me. So, like, Texas is just
- 41:38Speaker 1: kind of like this weird, like, conundrum of a team
- 41:40Speaker 1: to me where it's just like, oh, their defense is
- 41:42Speaker 1: going to keep them in every single game. Their offense
- 41:44Speaker 1: is probably going to keep the other team in every
- 41:46Speaker 1: single game. And so that's my holdup with them. I
- 41:51Speaker 1: do think that Florida, it's not as stark, but their
- 41:54Speaker 1: offense is so good and their defense still does have
- 41:56Speaker 1: the question marks that John Sumrall's put around them that
- 42:00Speaker 1: you saw Auburn put up a lot of points. And
- 42:04Speaker 1: so my worry for them is there will be a
- 42:08Speaker 1: game where their offense doesn't look like 2019 LSU. That's
- 42:13Speaker 1: eventually going to happen. You're eventually going to have that game.
- 42:16Speaker 1: That can't coincide with the defense having a bad day, too. Now, cliche,
- 42:21Speaker 1: but defense travels. We'll see. Austin Simmons will have plenty
- 42:24Speaker 1: of motivation for this game, not just because he's a
- 42:25Speaker 1: good quarterback, but because of some recruiting stuff that happened
- 42:28Speaker 1: back in the day. And if you're looking for that perfect... Oh, man, yeah,
- 42:31Speaker 1: he was committed there, and then they wanted to take
- 42:34Speaker 1: a second quarterback. He ended up with Ole Miss. And,
- 42:38Speaker 1: you know, hasn't, you know, Napier was doing a lot
- 42:42Speaker 1: of things that you're like, what the hell was this
- 42:44Speaker 1: guy doing? Uh, what you had Jaden ball on your
- 42:47Speaker 1: team and what, you know, what, what were you doing? Um,
- 42:50Speaker 1: they also, I mean, they had, there were shot of
- 42:51Speaker 1: stuff there, you know, through.
- 42:53Speaker 2: Oh, I'm familiar with that.
- 42:55Speaker 1: So Florida and quarterbacks, like until they.
- 42:59Speaker 2: Came through Georgia for five minutes.
- 43:01Speaker 1: There, uh, he played for about everybody. one of those
- 43:04Speaker 1: on three graphics, which has got 17 teams on the bottom.
- 43:08Speaker 1: At least he didn't have an NFL team on it.
- 43:10Speaker 2: So shout out to California Penal League. I'm not saying
- 43:15Speaker 2: he's illegal. He's been around, man. He's seen it all.
- 43:20Speaker 1: But Simmons is a good quarterback. And I do wonder,
- 43:22Speaker 1: like with this Florida secondary, I love Jaden Woods. I
- 43:25Speaker 1: think he's great. And I think Obedejo is really good
- 43:28Speaker 1: and has emerged there in that second edge rusher spot.
- 43:31Speaker 1: A lot of people thought that would be LJ McCrae.
- 43:33Speaker 1: I do think that they can get some pressure on
- 43:36Speaker 1: Ole Miss or I'm sorry, on, on Missouri. But I
- 43:38Speaker 1: wonder about that secondary. If, if Austin Simmons who has
- 43:41Speaker 1: shown that he's capable of kind of going off at times,
- 43:43Speaker 1: if he has a good day, your secondary plays down,
- 43:45Speaker 1: you know, I think there's a pad and that's why
- 43:47Speaker 1: the line is what it is. Missouri has been a
- 43:49Speaker 1: little bit better against the run than I think Ole
- 43:51Speaker 1: Miss or Auburn are now being better against the run
- 43:53Speaker 1: and welcoming Jaden body or a tier hometown is, is
- 43:56Speaker 1: a little bit, you know, of a, of an interesting dichotomy,
- 43:59Speaker 1: but yeah, there's a story. There's a, There's a perfect
- 44:02Speaker 1: storm here where Missouri is able to continue those old
- 44:06Speaker 1: demons of Florida struggling up there and keep it going.
- 44:09Speaker 1: I don't think it happens because I trust the talent
- 44:12Speaker 1: a little more, but it certainly could. I mean, it's
- 44:14Speaker 1: the closest of the three games we're talking about for sure.
- 44:17Speaker 2: Yeah, absolutely. And I think, you know, the... Caden Lee,
- 44:23Speaker 2: he's got to go off for Missouri in this game.
- 44:25Speaker 2: He needs to have like 120 yards on eight catches
- 44:29Speaker 2: and be able to make some explosive plays and also
- 44:31Speaker 2: some draft-sustaining six-yard type of receptions, which he's fully capable of,
- 44:36Speaker 2: and we've seen him do before. Him versus Kanye Clark
- 44:40Speaker 2: in that kind of slot, nickel-corner role for Florida, that's
- 44:44Speaker 2: probably a matchup I would think Missouri likes. Clark has
- 44:48Speaker 2: been kind of iffy at times, so-so this year. I mean, metrically...
- 44:55Speaker 2: If you just kind of dig into this Florida team
- 44:58Speaker 2: and look at it from an advanced stat standpoint, their
- 45:03Speaker 2: offense is beautiful, man. It's gorgeous. Look, I have a
- 45:12Speaker 2: lot of familiarity with Buster Faulkner and great respect for him.
- 45:16Speaker 2: I think he's awesome. Even when he was coaching at
- 45:20Speaker 2: Georgia Tech, his family and his son continue to live
- 45:24Speaker 2: kind of around here in the Athens area. There's a
- 45:27Speaker 2: great football program at North Oconee high school. And his,
- 45:31Speaker 2: his kid was there and like, it's just, he's somebody
- 45:37Speaker 2: that I root for, I guess is the point I'm
- 45:39Speaker 2: trying to make even wherever he is, you know, at
- 45:42Speaker 2: Florida now. So I think that this Florida offense is
- 45:48Speaker 2: very well balanced. It's for the offense. Like, what they
- 45:51Speaker 2: do with Philo in terms of getting him on the
- 45:54Speaker 2: move and misdirecting things and their play action and the
- 45:58Speaker 2: fact that they're kind of constantly running things out of
- 46:02Speaker 2: different formations but continuing to hit their bread-and-butter concepts, it's
- 46:06Speaker 2: very reminiscent of the Todd Monken era of Georgia football, right?
- 46:11Speaker 2: Like when that brain trust of Monken and Faulkner was
- 46:14Speaker 2: kind of the offensive staff here. And that was– I mean,
- 46:18Speaker 2: they didn't lose– many games in that time. They won
- 46:21Speaker 2: back-to-back national titles together. That said, this Florida defense is
- 46:26Speaker 2: not 2021 Georgia or 2022 Georgia. They've really struggled from
- 46:33Speaker 2: a success rate standpoint. They're 77th in the country. They're
- 46:37Speaker 2: not good when opponents get scoring opportunities, which is any
- 46:42Speaker 2: trip inside the opponent's 40 is considered a scoring opportunity
- 46:46Speaker 2: in advanced stat world for those that are not familiar
- 46:48Speaker 2: with Florida has given up 4.05 points per trip inside
- 46:53Speaker 2: the 40, which translates to 115th in college football so far. Yes,
- 46:58Speaker 2: they did just play Trinidad Chambliss and Ole Miss. That's
- 47:00Speaker 2: a good offense. Also, they were without Lacey and still
- 47:06Speaker 2: almost put up 500 yards. So it will be interesting
- 47:09Speaker 2: to see. It certainly seems like teams– want to hit
- 47:14Speaker 2: Florida in the pass game. We're not seeing Florida have
- 47:17Speaker 2: a huge negative play rate defensively against the run. There's
- 47:23Speaker 2: some things to be concerned about from a line yard standpoint.
- 47:26Speaker 2: They're giving up over three line yards per carry, which
- 47:31Speaker 2: is basically think of that as first contact yards. There's
- 47:35Speaker 2: some stuff here from the Florida defense that will probably
- 47:40Speaker 2: come back to bite them at some point this year. right?
- 47:43Speaker 2: Like that, that's probably going to end up being the
- 47:46Speaker 2: question is, is their offense perfect enough on that level
- 47:50Speaker 2: of like a 2019 LSU or 2020 Bama or somebody
- 47:55Speaker 2: like that, where it just doesn't really matter.
- 47:58Speaker 1: It doesn't matter.
- 47:58Speaker 2: It's the defense. And that's possible, man. I mean, like
- 48:01Speaker 2: it really could be that way for them for a large,
- 48:04Speaker 2: like they could certainly possibly ride that to a playoff bird.
- 48:06Speaker 2: It's not outside the question at all, but I would
- 48:10Speaker 2: still say that their defense is, needs to be better
- 48:13Speaker 2: than like in the hundreds in success rate and some
- 48:16Speaker 2: of these categories that really do matter from like a
- 48:19Speaker 2: five-factor standpoint. They've been pretty good at not giving up
- 48:22Speaker 2: the big killer explosive play to their credit. So we'll see.
- 48:27Speaker 2: But I think that will be fascinating about this game
- 48:31Speaker 2: because we just saw Missouri kind of struggle with the
- 48:35Speaker 2: Zach Arnett defense and Mississippi State. I think has probably
- 48:40Speaker 2: a better defense than a lot of people are giving
- 48:42Speaker 2: him credit for, but they're not overly talented or filled
- 48:45Speaker 2: with NFL players, I think is a fair thing to
- 48:48Speaker 2: say without sounding like a hater. I'm pulling for him.
- 48:52Speaker 2: I like Mississippi State. Go Kamario Taylor. But if Missouri
- 48:56Speaker 2: is able to come out and have a better output
- 49:00Speaker 2: against Florida than they did Mississippi State, that's going to
- 49:05Speaker 2: feel rather informative to me. And it's going to be
- 49:07Speaker 2: a bad sign for Florida's kind of long-term chances. Yeah.
- 49:11Speaker 1: I wonder a little bit about Florida started really well
- 49:17Speaker 1: in the only team that's led them so far. is
- 49:20Speaker 1: the Campbell Camels. They got a 3-0 lead.
- 49:22Speaker 2: East Carolina stand up.
- 49:24Speaker 1: It started well against Auburn. It started very well against
- 49:28Speaker 1: Ole Miss. What does Florida's offense look like if they've
- 49:32Speaker 1: got to come back? You're down 7 at halftime, which
- 49:36Speaker 1: that's not a huge thing. Maybe if you get the
- 49:38Speaker 1: ball back or whatever, but you're down 10 in the
- 49:40Speaker 1: second half or you're down 14 on the road. Yeah.
- 49:43Speaker 1: That's a little different spot than Philo has been asked
- 49:46Speaker 1: to be. And now if that, if that deficit comes
- 49:49Speaker 1: early in the game, I think you still just healthy
- 49:51Speaker 1: dose of Jaden bond, let him do it. The other
- 49:53Speaker 1: thing with Florida is I think they've been so incredibly they've,
- 49:58Speaker 1: they've been great on special teams. Like they really have
- 50:00Speaker 1: brought that emphasis back and it's the part of the
- 50:02Speaker 1: game that we probably don't give enough attention to because
- 50:04Speaker 1: we go so heavy on offense and defense and, and
- 50:07Speaker 1: special teams is not as much of a matchup thing
- 50:09Speaker 1: that people dive into, but they've been so incredibly opportunistic.
- 50:16Speaker 1: It's kind of the right word, but it's also just good.
- 50:18Speaker 1: I'm not trying to minimize how good they've been by
- 50:20Speaker 1: saying opportunistic, but think about last week. Trinidad cuts it
- 50:25Speaker 1: to three points, and they immediately have a 70-yard kick return.
- 50:29Speaker 1: I know he's questionable. I don't expect him to play,
- 50:32Speaker 1: but Vernell Brown takes two punts back for touchdowns. First
- 50:36Speaker 1: time in Florida's history that that has happened. Uh, Miami's
- 50:39Speaker 1: done that once in history, Florida state's never done that.
- 50:41Speaker 1: They've had kick and punt return the same game, but
- 50:43Speaker 1: that's a very rare thing. And I don't care who
- 50:45Speaker 1: they're playing in that game. It was Campbell. Um, I
- 50:48Speaker 1: don't care who you're playing. Like everybody plays bad teams
- 50:51Speaker 1: all the time. It's happened twice in Florida, Florida state,
- 50:53Speaker 1: Miami's history. It's just not common. They are really good
- 50:58Speaker 1: on special teams. They've got good specialists, both kicker and punter.
- 51:01Speaker 1: And then they do a good job in the return game. Um,
- 51:04Speaker 1: Those are the small things that I think have so far,
- 51:07Speaker 1: you know, Florida's offense has been elite, like we talked about.
- 51:11Speaker 1: But they're the things that turn into a 24-point win
- 51:15Speaker 1: against Ole Miss is just a backbreaker of like, okay,
- 51:18Speaker 1: you cut the game to three, you need to stop,
- 51:21Speaker 1: you get the ball back in Trinidad's hands, you're good
- 51:22Speaker 1: to go. And then they go out and bust out
- 51:24Speaker 1: a 70-yard kick return score three plays later. Those are
- 51:27Speaker 1: the things that I think are compensating for where the
- 51:30Speaker 1: defense is from a– down-to-down efficiency basis. It's also why
- 51:37Speaker 1: I think Florida probably wins this game by the spread.
- 51:41Speaker 1: It is stinky. I don't like it. I probably won't
- 51:43Speaker 1: take it myself. I might just take a flyer on
- 51:45Speaker 1: the Florida Moneyline and add it to something. But if
- 51:49Speaker 1: I had to pick one side or the other, I'm
- 51:51Speaker 1: just going with the more talented team and hoping the
- 51:54Speaker 1: outside factors of being on the road, reading your own
- 51:57Speaker 1: press clippings, all those other things. If you look at this,
- 52:00Speaker 1: I like Florida to win this by seven or more.
- 52:03Speaker 1: I'd probably take them by 10 if I'm just predicting
- 52:05Speaker 1: a score. So maybe it's a little lower scoring than
- 52:08Speaker 1: they've been. Maybe it's like 31-21. Maybe it's 31-24 in
- 52:12Speaker 1: a little closer, more fun game for a neutral. But
- 52:15Speaker 1: I do think Florida covers. I'll lean their way.
- 52:18Speaker 2: Is there any world where Mizzou is able to create
- 52:23Speaker 2: some pressure with Darius Smith and Dayton Hopkins? I mean,
- 52:27Speaker 2: Hopkins has been– Hopkins has eight sacks already this year.
- 52:31Speaker 2: And 20 quarterback pressures. That's an insane amount of production
- 52:34Speaker 2: for four weeks into a season to have eight sacks.
- 52:36Speaker 2: That's wild. I know they weren't against great competition at all,
- 52:42Speaker 2: but he had four sacks at Mississippi State.
- 52:47Speaker 1: I think it's possible. I don't want to say no,
- 52:49Speaker 1: because then it'll just happen. So maybe as an FSU
- 52:52Speaker 1: guy and a Georgia guy, we should say that. But no,
- 52:54Speaker 1: in all seriousness, I think that Florida's offensive line, I
- 52:57Speaker 1: think it's been better run-blocking But they've been a lot
- 53:00Speaker 1: better than I expected coming into this year. Phil Troutwine
- 53:05Speaker 1: has been really, really good. I asked Allie the other day,
- 53:08Speaker 1: do you think Coach Summerall was sandbagging a little bit
- 53:10Speaker 1: when he was complaining about.
- 53:12Speaker 2: The offensive line so much?
- 53:14Speaker 1: And she said no. Her husband played with Phil, the
- 53:18Speaker 1: offensive line coach. And they said no. And we had
- 53:21Speaker 1: private conversations with him. He was saying, we ain't there yet.
- 53:24Speaker 1: We got a long way to go. And so he's
- 53:25Speaker 1: done a great job, obviously a storied offensive line coach
- 53:28Speaker 1: who did great things at Penn State, and I'm not
- 53:31Speaker 1: super surprised that he's gotten them. Maybe I'm surprised at
- 53:34Speaker 1: how quickly it's happened, but I think their offensive line's
- 53:36Speaker 1: been really good. Better in run than pass, but not
- 53:39Speaker 1: bad in pass. And so I want to say yes
- 53:41Speaker 1: to answer your question, long-winded way of saying I don't know,
- 53:44Speaker 1: but I want to say yes to answer your question,
- 53:45Speaker 1: but I've been impressed with their offensive line, and could
- 53:50Speaker 1: it happen? Yes, but I kind of expect Florida's offensive
- 53:52Speaker 1: line to hold up in this game and not And again,
- 53:57Speaker 1: then you're also adding in the Buster Faulkner factor. If
- 53:59Speaker 1: that starts to be a problem, I expect him to
- 54:01Speaker 1: be able to scheme up to get out of it
- 54:04Speaker 1: from a play-calling standpoint. And the way that they use
- 54:07Speaker 1: pulling guards almost like as disguises, not even when they're
- 54:11Speaker 1: running counter, they're so good up front. They cause that
- 54:14Speaker 1: half second of hesitation for a defense. And so, yeah,
- 54:18Speaker 1: I think I'd lean more Florida's offensive line. Now, go
- 54:21Speaker 1: do it on the road again, all those things. But
- 54:23Speaker 1: if I've got to just take a guess, I think
- 54:25Speaker 1: Florida's trenches probably win that battle on Saturday. I'm buying them, man.
- 54:30Speaker 1: I hate myself for it, but I'm buying UF.
- 54:32Speaker 2: You're getting that Kool-Aid, man.
- 54:34Speaker 1: I hear you.
- 54:35Speaker 2: That orange Kool-Aid.
- 54:36Speaker 1: Oh, it's gross.
- 54:40Speaker 2: Look, here's my position on it. Missouri, defensively, I think
- 54:48Speaker 2: we all just watch Kamario Taylor beat them and maybe think, eh,
- 54:55Speaker 2: they're not great. And that, I don't think they're great, great. Like,
- 55:00Speaker 2: but I think that they're probably better. I think there's
- 55:03Speaker 2: still probably an inclination where you watch Mississippi State do
- 55:06Speaker 2: something good and say, maybe that team's not great. And
- 55:11Speaker 2: perhaps we're just not appreciating, or not you and I,
- 55:14Speaker 2: but the public at large is not appreciating some of
- 55:17Speaker 2: the throws that Kamario Taylor made in that game that
- 55:19Speaker 2: were just legitimately unguardable, right? Uh, so I'm curious, like if,
- 55:24Speaker 2: if Aaron Fowler is laying them deep balls out there
- 55:26Speaker 2: like that, then that's, that's going to be quite something.
- 55:30Speaker 2: But I do think that Missouri is going to offer
- 55:34Speaker 2: more resistance from like a balanced team. I think Missouri's
- 55:38Speaker 2: defense is pretty well balanced in terms of its ability
- 55:41Speaker 2: to stop the pass and the run with enough consistency
- 55:45Speaker 2: to like force Florida to drive the field and not
- 55:48Speaker 2: live off all these big explosive plays. Uh, I also
- 55:52Speaker 2: think that Missouri's passing game and sort of some of
- 55:55Speaker 2: their explosiveness will give Florida some problems. I just don't
- 56:00Speaker 2: think at the end of the day Missouri can really
- 56:02Speaker 2: run the ball enough to stay balanced in this game.
- 56:06Speaker 2: I think Florida wins, but actually this game gets weird.
- 56:09Speaker 2: Something wonky happens. Columbia's a weird place to play. You
- 56:12Speaker 2: can ask down south SEC veterans like myself. Mizzou will
- 56:18Speaker 2: have some explosive passing plays in this game, and I
- 56:22Speaker 2: do think they might get up at some point, create
- 56:24Speaker 2: a little pucker factor for Florida. I got the Gators
- 56:29Speaker 2: by a field goal, but I got Missouri covering.
- 56:34Speaker 1: Just a quick recap. I'm going to go through and
- 56:37Speaker 1: total up all of these on next week's complete matchup
- 56:41Speaker 1: guide that we do. Last week, we both had Tennessee covering.
- 56:45Speaker 1: You had Texas winning. I had Tennessee winning. I went outright.
- 56:49Speaker 1: But you also took the over, so you canceled yourself.
- 56:52Speaker 2: I was wrong on that.
- 56:54Speaker 1: That did not happen. I took it in real life,
- 56:56Speaker 1: and I was like, this doesn't look good.
- 56:59Speaker 2: Five minutes in, you were like, this ain't going to be.
- 57:01Speaker 1: The way that we want it. We both took Ole
- 57:03Speaker 1: Miss and the money line, so don't listen to us
- 57:05Speaker 1: ever again when it comes to doubting Florida. I took UGA.
- 57:08Speaker 1: You took Oklahoma against the spread. And then I didn't
- 57:11Speaker 1: write down what we took for USC-Oregon. I think I
- 57:14Speaker 1: took Oregon. I didn't believe in USC, but I don't
- 57:17Speaker 1: remember what you took. I just know I picked Oregon
- 57:19Speaker 1: in my picks.
- 57:21Speaker 2: I took Oregon. I had a whole diatribe about don't
- 57:25Speaker 2: trust USC.
- 57:27Speaker 1: So I thought we did pretty well last week. We
- 57:30Speaker 1: got split a little bit with Tennessee, Texas, but overall
- 57:34Speaker 1: a good week. I'm sure we'll– well, we disagreed on
- 57:37Speaker 1: the last two. So somebody will be right.
- 57:39Speaker 2: We've had a pretty good year so far. I think
- 57:42Speaker 2: we've been at or above 500 every week, both individually
- 57:47Speaker 2: and as a team.
- 57:48Speaker 1: Not losing money.
- 57:49Speaker 2: We're making money.
- 57:50Speaker 1: That's the key. Graham Coffey, get Tim on Dog Central.
- 57:55Speaker 1: You guys do a great job over there. TJ Pittenger here,
- 57:59Speaker 1: College Football Addiction, and anywhere else that you're seeing this video.
- 58:03Speaker 1: We will be back next week to preview a bunch
- 58:04Speaker 1: of games, talk about how we did. Graham, thanks for
- 58:07Speaker 1: hanging out, bud.
- 58:08Speaker 2: Absolutely. Enjoyed it, man.
