- 0:03Speaker 1: Atlantic City. You can check out all the games this weekend,
- 0:06Speaker 1: including the Eagles and the Giants. It's Sunday at noon.
- 0:09Speaker 1: You can excuse Sunday at one. Pregame covered starts at
- 0:13Speaker 1: noon right here on ninety seven three ESPN, Jeff Boscher
- 0:16Speaker 1: for the Inside of the Birds podcast, and Phillyvoice dot
- 0:18Speaker 1: Com is back for today's Football at four, which has
- 0:21Speaker 1: a lot of stuff going on, including no AJ Brown
- 0:25Speaker 1: at practice today. Doesn't seem to be hurt. I don't
- 0:28Speaker 1: know if he's just standing next to Big Dom Jeff
- 0:30Speaker 1: just to see what the color of the paint inside
- 0:34Speaker 1: his house is or anything. But no Aj prod at practice.
- 0:38Speaker 1: You read anything into that other than maybe just a
- 0:40Speaker 1: day off.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Maybe just a day off. You know, he's had dough
- 0:45Speaker 2: of injuries all throughout camp, but usually I don't know.
- 0:48Speaker 2: I mean, I mean, we're in the thick of the
- 0:50Speaker 2: season here, Eagles has just gotten themselves out of a
- 0:53Speaker 2: two game losing streak, and the fact that he's standing
- 0:57Speaker 2: there is a good, good, good thing. But I don't know.
- 1:01Speaker 2: I would say maintenance day if other guys were not practicing,
- 1:05Speaker 2: But This doesn't feel like a maintenance state type of thing.
- 1:08Speaker 2: But we'll love to see when the report comes out.
- 1:10Speaker 2: But it's it's sort of a shame if it's anything
- 1:13Speaker 2: that's more than minor because he's coming off, you know,
- 1:16Speaker 2: obviously a very good game with two touchdowns.
- 1:18Speaker 1: Yeah, and obviously he's you know, putting out his cryptic
- 1:21Speaker 1: messages and doing things, so you always wonder what's going
- 1:24Speaker 1: on with him. However, he's standing on the sideline, as
- 1:28Speaker 1: are a couple of injured players like Cam Jurgens.
- 1:31Speaker 3: Let's get your thoughts on that.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Nick Sirianni was asked about Jurgons and whether or not
- 1:35Speaker 1: they would use landon Dickerson. He was not committal to that.
- 1:38Speaker 1: But are you of the opinion that if they know
- 1:41Speaker 1: Jurgons is out, that maybe someone else starts the game,
- 1:45Speaker 1: that Toth is there in the middle of a game.
- 1:48Speaker 1: But if they know ahead of time, they might change
- 1:50Speaker 1: their thinking.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Well, I don't know that if if Cam Jurgons can't play,
- 1:57Speaker 2: I'm not sure it resolves the Brett Toast has to
- 2:01Speaker 2: play issue. But I do think if you're trying to
- 2:04Speaker 2: put as coaches always say, and I think Nick Sirianni
- 2:07Speaker 2: said today, you do the best that you can for
- 2:09Speaker 2: your team. If you want to put your team in
- 2:11Speaker 2: the best position to succeed, then you would play Landon
- 2:15Speaker 2: Dickerson at center and Brett Toast at left guard. That's
- 2:20Speaker 2: what I think. Now you can rationalize that and say, well,
- 2:25Speaker 2: at least that's center. Toast only has a double team.
- 2:28Speaker 2: You know, he helps out, whereas at left guard you're
- 2:30Speaker 2: on an island more so than often. And that's not
- 2:33Speaker 2: good for Brett Toast, and I could see the I
- 2:36Speaker 2: can understand that, but also Brett Toast's shotgun snapping is
- 2:40Speaker 2: not very good. And even though the Eagles went under
- 2:42Speaker 2: center sixteen times against the Vikings, that was game plan
- 2:45Speaker 2: specific Anyway, I'm not sure they're going to want to
- 2:48Speaker 2: do that as much against the Giants. And then, even so,
- 2:51Speaker 2: you still have to snap from the shotgun. You can't
- 2:53Speaker 2: just limit yourself to an under center offense. So I
- 2:57Speaker 2: think the potential for I guess calamity or things going
- 3:01Speaker 2: wrong is higher with Toast at center than left guard.
- 3:05Speaker 2: It's not a great situation either way, but I'm not
- 3:07Speaker 2: quite sure you know what the solution is. It's not
- 3:09Speaker 2: like Sue Opetta is the answer. They brought him back
- 3:12Speaker 2: and put him on the practice squad and Matt Pryor
- 3:15Speaker 2: they clearly don't like playing on the left side. This
- 3:17Speaker 2: is Mike, this is you know, And maybe we'll be
- 3:20Speaker 2: discussing this after the season or during the bye week.
- 3:22Speaker 2: But it wasn't a great off season for Howie Roseman.
- 3:25Speaker 2: I know that's kind of like a dirty thing to
- 3:27Speaker 2: say about Howie because of all the success that he's had,
- 3:30Speaker 2: but he really did not do a great job addressing
- 3:32Speaker 2: depth and some key areas this off season. And that's
- 3:35Speaker 2: one of them.
- 3:36Speaker 1: Well, and I guess Drew Kendall's not ready, I mean
- 3:39Speaker 1: other or would you think that, Well, maybe they know
- 3:41Speaker 1: he's starting the game, they activate him, but they don't
- 3:44Speaker 1: you know, he doesn't play guard, So is it one
- 3:46Speaker 1: of those situations?
- 3:47Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean that would just be is Jeff Stoutland
- 3:50Speaker 2: comfortable with a rookie fifth round pick Drew Kendall playing
- 3:54Speaker 2: center because you wouldn't play him left guard, you'd only
- 3:56Speaker 2: play him at center. Are you comfortable with him stepping
- 3:59Speaker 2: in and against Dexter Lawrence and that pretty strong Giants
- 4:05Speaker 2: defensive front. The Giants haven't been a very good defense altogether.
- 4:08Speaker 2: But as we saw on that game Thursday night, their
- 4:10Speaker 2: defensive front, it's got some dogs on it, and I
- 4:13Speaker 2: just don't know that they they think that Kendall is
- 4:15Speaker 2: ready for that.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Jeff Bosher Football at four for the Inside the Birds podcast,
- 4:20Speaker 1: and obviously he was asked today Nick Sirianni was about
- 4:23Speaker 1: Saquon Barkley. Barkley kind of it, said, you know, he
- 4:27Speaker 1: kind of said, it's my fault at the running game
- 4:29Speaker 1: is not what it is, and he say it's a
- 4:31Speaker 1: team thing. But what do you think Barkley kind of blame?
- 4:34Speaker 1: Is Barkley kind of taking there.
- 4:37Speaker 2: I think he's just being a leader and accountable, which
- 4:41Speaker 2: is good, you know. I mean, it's not like he's
- 4:43Speaker 2: gonna come out and say what he's doing wrong. Maybe
- 4:46Speaker 2: there are some things that he's watched on tape that
- 4:49Speaker 2: he feels like he could have done that. I guarantee
- 4:51Speaker 2: you that. I mean, I think that no matter who
- 4:53Speaker 2: you are, but especially at the running back position, where
- 4:56Speaker 2: you're so dependent on lanes, people in front of you,
- 5:00Speaker 2: certain shifts and movements. I'm sure he's watched the tape
- 5:05Speaker 2: and thought, oh man, you know, like there I had
- 5:07Speaker 2: an avenue or there. I've seen it myself a couple
- 5:09Speaker 2: of times. He slipped and fallen and sometimes he hasn't
- 5:12Speaker 2: exactly followed the block, but he's he's sort of never
- 5:15Speaker 2: been that kind of running back anyway. But I guess
- 5:19Speaker 2: it comes to light a little bit more when your
- 5:21Speaker 2: upfront is already struggling.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Yeah, and they're struggling up front, will see if Jurgons
- 5:25Speaker 1: can Would you imagine that Jurgons?
- 5:27Speaker 3: What is you know, what is going on with him?
- 5:28Speaker 3: They're being kind of cryptic about this.
- 5:31Speaker 2: I mean, look the guy. I think him and Dickerson
- 5:34Speaker 2: both fall into the same category of guys who underwent
- 5:38Speaker 2: off season surgery and it wasn't like a minor this
- 5:41Speaker 2: or a minor I know, back surgery is pretty big
- 5:44Speaker 2: for an offensive lineman, and your range of motion has
- 5:49Speaker 2: to come back the way it was, and that the
- 5:51Speaker 2: beauty of Cam Jurgens and Jason Kelsey and being that
- 5:54Speaker 2: kind of athletic center is you have more fluid change
- 5:58Speaker 2: of direction and angle movements, and maybe other centers who
- 6:01Speaker 2: just playing more of a rough and tumble t having,
- 6:04Speaker 2: you know, push blow the guy off the ball type
- 6:06Speaker 2: of game. And the offense has always been centered around
- 6:09Speaker 2: Gill's athletic movements that Kelsey and Jurgons can do. And
- 6:13Speaker 2: if you have back surgery and you can't do those things,
- 6:16Speaker 2: but you're still trying to do those things, then other
- 6:19Speaker 2: parts of your body can break down in the process.
- 6:22Speaker 2: It's favoring, right, And listen, I'm not a doctor. I'm
- 6:25Speaker 2: not saying that's exactly the issue. I don't know, and
- 6:28Speaker 2: you know, it seems not gonna come out and tell you,
- 6:30Speaker 2: but I do know that he even did come out
- 6:32Speaker 2: and say that he's not felt like one hundred percent
- 6:35Speaker 2: since the back surgery.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean if he's uh, And there's a lot
- 6:39Speaker 1: of things that the Eagles have done with their centers
- 6:42Speaker 1: that a lot of teams can't do because they had
- 6:43Speaker 1: Kelsey and Jurgons and they pull them and they get
- 6:46Speaker 1: to the next and they do a lot of athletic
- 6:48Speaker 1: things with the center. So I would imagine having this
- 6:51Speaker 1: center situation certainly changes the dynamics of what they can
- 6:55Speaker 1: do offensively, oh one hundred percent.
- 6:59Speaker 2: And then you know it's compounded when you ask Brett
- 7:01Speaker 2: Toath to play center, you know he was asked to
- 7:04Speaker 2: put a couple of blocks in that game from under center.
- 7:07Speaker 1: That.
- 7:07Speaker 2: I just that's not what breath Toath can do. I mean, look,
- 7:10Speaker 2: you can look at it and say, man, Brett Toath thinks,
- 7:12Speaker 2: but that's not fair to Brett Toaf because no one
- 7:15Speaker 2: has ever said in any scouting report that Brett Toaf
- 7:17Speaker 2: is capable of doing those things. In fact, he wasn't
- 7:20Speaker 2: even a center until he came to the Eagles. So
- 7:23Speaker 2: I mean, you can throw brettos under the bus all
- 7:26Speaker 2: you want, but it's not being fair to him. He
- 7:28Speaker 2: shouldn't be asked to make kind of blocks that he
- 7:31Speaker 2: has not been asked to make in the past because
- 7:33Speaker 2: he can't.
- 7:34Speaker 1: All right, Jeff, let's take a look at the defense. Obviously,
- 7:38Speaker 1: Brandon Graham and he's there now. That is official. He
- 7:42Speaker 1: announced that yesterday that he will be coming back. We
- 7:44Speaker 1: did touch on this a little bit on Monday, but
- 7:46Speaker 1: Nick Sirianni was asked about it a lot today.
- 7:48Speaker 3: Obviously he was at practice today.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Do you, number one, anticipate Graham will play in this game?
- 7:55Speaker 1: Where do you anticipate? Probably after the bye week, you know.
- 7:59Speaker 2: Definitely after the bye week. But I do think that
- 8:02Speaker 2: there's something to look for this week, and because when
- 8:07Speaker 2: Zadarius Smith came to the Eagles, he was not in
- 8:10Speaker 2: training camp, he was not in you know, the with
- 8:13Speaker 2: the team was the first week. I mean, he was
- 8:15Speaker 2: not an ota, so he kind of came off cold,
- 8:18Speaker 2: but he was in good conditioning and Vic certainly saw
- 8:22Speaker 2: it and practiced and played him a lot more in
- 8:24Speaker 2: that first game than we all thought. So Brandon is
- 8:27Speaker 2: different because he's coming off of a retear of the triceps.
- 8:31Speaker 2: But you know, it's been six or seven months. So
- 8:35Speaker 2: if that's one hundred percent healthy and not an issue,
- 8:37Speaker 2: and he's out there at the practice field looking pretty good,
- 8:41Speaker 2: it would not I'm just saying it wouldn't shock me
- 8:44Speaker 2: if he's if he's medically checked out, everything's fine with
- 8:46Speaker 2: the triceps, and his conditioning is even decent, it wouldn't
- 8:49Speaker 2: shock me. I threwhim out there because Vic doesn't care
- 8:52Speaker 2: about your your history. You can play's play. Yet.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Yeah, he went in that whole expository the other day
- 8:57Speaker 1: about it. He was told the guy can only play
- 8:59Speaker 1: X amount of snack and then you know, hey whatever.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Uh So, if he's the best option, I agree with you.
- 9:05Speaker 1: If he's the best option or one of the top
- 9:07Speaker 1: five options, I would imagine that he would be out there.
- 9:11Speaker 2: And yeah, and then you got you know, no Ojelari, right,
- 9:14Speaker 2: So I mean you're already you got so Darnis Smith
- 9:17Speaker 2: Bonona quits no o'jelari. And I know people got excited
- 9:20Speaker 2: about Johid Campbell playing the edge position against the Vikings,
- 9:24Speaker 2: but he only did it in base, you know, because
- 9:27Speaker 2: and because of that those depth issues. Wasn't rushing the
- 9:30Speaker 2: pastor who was basically doing that for run in a
- 9:33Speaker 2: five to two front. So I'm not sure, you know,
- 9:35Speaker 2: maybe maybe that role gets changed Mike a little bit
- 9:38Speaker 2: this week with the depth issues because you're you don't
- 9:40Speaker 2: want to overextend Brandon Graham. Maybe you do see jo
- 9:43Speaker 2: Hot Campbell out there in more of a four man
- 9:45Speaker 2: front when they need to run.
- 9:47Speaker 1: Let's talk. Let's talk more about that. Because Nakobe Dean
- 9:50Speaker 1: was back. He played thirty one snaps. I think he
- 9:52Speaker 1: played pretty well. So when you look at Nakobe Dean
- 9:56Speaker 1: and what they did with him, uh, what does it
- 9:59Speaker 1: mean kind of moving forward with his role, and then
- 10:02Speaker 1: what you do with Jahad Campbell. I'm interested in this
- 10:04Speaker 1: whole uh dynamic here.
- 10:07Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:07Speaker 2: I wrote about this on Philip Voice dot Com today
- 10:10Speaker 2: and so I think for now he's probably still going
- 10:15Speaker 2: to play like you did against the Vikings in base
- 10:17Speaker 2: down because for the most part, when they're a nickel,
- 10:20Speaker 2: they're still going to be Bond and they're still going
- 10:22Speaker 2: to be Jahad Campbell. That's the way it was against
- 10:24Speaker 2: the Vikings, minus I think two snaps, two or three
- 10:27Speaker 2: snaps where Nikobe did play in the nickel and and
- 10:31Speaker 2: Joha Campbell didn't move there. He just came off the field.
- 10:35Speaker 2: So but again, given where they're at with the edge
- 10:38Speaker 2: here in Ocelari not being able to play, maybe you
- 10:40Speaker 2: do see Bond I'm sorry, maybe you do see Campbell
- 10:44Speaker 2: play in that four man front as an edge rusher,
- 10:47Speaker 2: and then you do see more Na Kobe linebacker. We'll
- 10:51Speaker 2: see I don't know. Vic Fansher talked about it and
- 10:54Speaker 2: him he just he made it clear he was just
- 10:56Speaker 2: trying to get Nickbobe Dean back to you know, some conditioning.
- 11:00Speaker 2: See how he looked on defense. I watched all the staff.
- 11:02Speaker 2: I thought it looked pretty good. A couple of really
- 11:04Speaker 2: good run stops that he made in the game. They
- 11:07Speaker 2: didn't really target him in passing, even though the Vikings
- 11:10Speaker 2: actually threw the ball quite a bit while the Eagles
- 11:13Speaker 2: were in base, but mostly Carson wentz through outside the numbers.
- 11:17Speaker 2: But there is an opportunity to get him on the
- 11:19Speaker 2: field if you want to play Bawn a little bit
- 11:21Speaker 2: more as an edge rusher.
- 11:22Speaker 1: Well, do you think it's either Campbell or Dean or
- 11:26Speaker 1: can they coexist?
- 11:29Speaker 2: I think right now they can because you can play.
- 11:33Speaker 2: You can play Campbell on the edge in the nickel
- 11:35Speaker 2: and the four man front and then have Dean play linebacker.
- 11:38Speaker 2: But when you're talking about coming out of the by
- 11:41Speaker 2: and Nolan Smith ready to return and Brandon Graham having
- 11:44Speaker 2: a few more weeks to practice on them, remember Nolan Smith,
- 11:48Speaker 2: Brandon Graham, and Jex Hunt are all very good win defenders,
- 11:52Speaker 2: not just good pass rushers. So you'd want those guys
- 11:56Speaker 2: in your five to two front playing the edge more
- 11:58Speaker 2: so than Campbell. Those guys are gonna play the edge,
- 12:01Speaker 2: you know that front. You're gonna put Campbell back at
- 12:04Speaker 2: off ball linebacker and then n Kobe sort of gets
- 12:07Speaker 2: lost sauce again and we'll just see from there. I mean,
- 12:10Speaker 2: there could be more injuries, we don't know, but I
- 12:12Speaker 2: think a short term answer is clearer than a long
- 12:14Speaker 2: term answer well.
- 12:15Speaker 3: You know, it'll be interesting. Think.
- 12:17Speaker 1: I didn't think Campbell made much of a factor at
- 12:19Speaker 1: all in the in that role in pass rush.
- 12:22Speaker 3: And would you disagree with me?
- 12:26Speaker 2: Do you mean against the Vikings or yeah.
- 12:28Speaker 1: Exactly, Like if you watch him and said, this guy's
- 12:30Speaker 1: gonna help us out, like you would say no that,
- 12:32Speaker 1: But you almost I want to get like you almost
- 12:36Speaker 1: feel like where they are with the pass rush, like
- 12:39Speaker 1: you almost say, hey, do we just keep playing him
- 12:41Speaker 1: here and hope that we can unlock something?
- 12:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't. I don't know, because his future is
- 12:48Speaker 2: still off ball linebacker. I mean that's the reality of
- 12:51Speaker 2: the situation. We have no idea what's gonna happen with
- 12:53Speaker 2: to Kobe Dean after this year his contracts up. It's
- 12:58Speaker 2: hard right now to see him getting an extension knowing
- 13:00Speaker 2: that they have Campbell and Bond's playing well. But that's
- 13:05Speaker 2: for you know, after the season. So I don't think
- 13:08Speaker 2: that they're just gonna play Campbell at edge just to
- 13:11Speaker 2: kind of experiment and see what they can get if
- 13:13Speaker 2: you can get better once they have Nolan Smith back
- 13:15Speaker 2: and Brandon Graham and you still have you still have Hunt.
- 13:19Speaker 2: I just don't see a whole lot of edge reps
- 13:23Speaker 2: for Jaha Campbell and because of the bye week, this
- 13:26Speaker 2: scenario that I'm talking about is really just the next
- 13:28Speaker 2: game after the Giants game, which is it could be
- 13:30Speaker 2: the Packers game, and if it's not the Packers, then
- 13:32Speaker 2: it truly would be the next week. Yeah.
- 13:34Speaker 3: I know.
- 13:36Speaker 1: Well, Nolan Smith, he's not back at practice this week,
- 13:38Speaker 1: so he's windows not even open to try to play
- 13:40Speaker 1: at all.
- 13:41Speaker 3: You know, there was some hope that he.
- 13:42Speaker 2: Could put it was always it was always supposed to
- 13:45Speaker 2: be after the bye week though, Yeah.
- 13:46Speaker 3: No, but the fact that he could practice this week, right, I.
- 13:49Speaker 2: Mean, I as I understood it, the window, the practice
- 13:53Speaker 2: window for him was more realistic.
- 13:54Speaker 3: For the bye week, he's going to come out.
- 13:58Speaker 1: Yeah see, he'll be uh so hopefully you get him
- 14:00Speaker 1: back after the bye week. What is your thoughts on
- 14:06Speaker 1: Bennett was back today? To Cory and Bennett that does
- 14:10Speaker 1: he become the quarterback opposite Mitchell Man?
- 14:16Speaker 2: I mean, really, he's one injury away. I mean I
- 14:20Speaker 2: would think that Kille Ringo will get the opportunity, especially
- 14:23Speaker 2: because this is not a Giants team that has a
- 14:26Speaker 2: tremendous amount of great offensive weapons. I mean, we say that.
- 14:28Speaker 2: I know, I know I was there. You know, I
- 14:31Speaker 2: watched on Thursday night when guys like little Jordan Humphrey
- 14:34Speaker 2: and Wandale Robinson caught a lot of you know, big
- 14:38Speaker 2: passes that you wouldn't expect. But the reality is, I mean,
- 14:41Speaker 2: this is not a great Giants receiving corps.
- 14:43Speaker 3: No neighbors out there.
- 14:47Speaker 2: Yeah all right, and I don't even know if Clayton's
- 14:49Speaker 2: going to be there. So I mean, I know Vick
- 14:53Speaker 2: is gonna watch Ta Corey and Bennet in practice today.
- 14:55Speaker 2: But you gotta remember, man like Bennett just got here.
- 14:58Speaker 2: He's trying to learn a very for defense than he's
- 15:00Speaker 2: ever played in. He had a couple of weeks probably
- 15:03Speaker 2: was gonna get a shot. Then he got hurt for
- 15:05Speaker 2: a week, I mean five weeks. I think it's been
- 15:07Speaker 2: right that Rams game where he blocked where he picked
- 15:10Speaker 2: up the field. But the Rams game, yes, he hit
- 15:15Speaker 2: the holder on the field goal block that Jordan Davis did, right,
- 15:18Speaker 2: That's how he hurt himself. He went shoulder first into
- 15:21Speaker 2: the holder there. Yeah. Yeah, So anyway, that that was
- 15:24Speaker 2: several weeks now, So not only does he have to
- 15:27Speaker 2: have conditioning and Vic has to see how he is,
- 15:29Speaker 2: but he's got to like know the defense and nowhere
- 15:32Speaker 2: to play. And but listen, even if he doesn't, what
- 15:35Speaker 2: happens with Killy Ringo gets out there and you know,
- 15:37Speaker 2: turns an ankle. What are they gonna do?
- 15:39Speaker 3: Yeah, well I have to play him.
- 15:40Speaker 1: I think, you know, the Ringo thing is has been
- 15:43Speaker 1: a roller coaster. Dori Jackson had the rough first week
- 15:46Speaker 1: and I think everybody's kind of holding him to that
- 15:48Speaker 1: first week.
- 15:49Speaker 3: But he's been banged up now, so it'll.
- 15:51Speaker 1: Be interesting and I'm I'm interested to know, like right now,
- 15:55Speaker 1: if they were to pick one spot to upgrade, would
- 15:57Speaker 1: it be Edge still or corner.
- 16:01Speaker 3: Man?
- 16:02Speaker 2: You know that's a tough quick's you would have to
- 16:05Speaker 2: tell us like who's available, right because it could be
- 16:09Speaker 2: I'll just get the best one that I can because
- 16:11Speaker 2: it's clear that both both of them are equally hurting
- 16:16Speaker 2: the Eagles at times. I think everything starts to front
- 16:20Speaker 2: with the Eagles. I know, so Edge would be hard
- 16:23Speaker 2: to turn down. But and it's there's just I don't
- 16:27Speaker 2: know who's going to be dealing like a good number
- 16:29Speaker 2: two corner. But we'll say, I know, you know, everybody
- 16:31Speaker 2: expects the Vikings to have their fire sale, and then
- 16:35Speaker 2: a couple of other teams will fall out of it too.
- 16:37Speaker 2: We'll see, But I don't know that there is an
- 16:39Speaker 2: experience to what you're saying as an either or. They're
- 16:42Speaker 2: both positions of need, and they're both positions hurting the
- 16:44Speaker 2: team equally.
- 16:45Speaker 1: Well, because they told you that we need a corner
- 16:48Speaker 1: by trading for a corner, and then they told you
- 16:50Speaker 1: we need an edge by signing an edge. So I
- 16:52Speaker 1: don't think that either of those areas have been shored
- 16:55Speaker 1: up quite enough yet, so they might have to dip
- 16:57Speaker 1: right back in the same although Bennett has got a
- 17:00Speaker 1: chance to play, so we'll see how that all kind
- 17:02Speaker 1: of shakes out there. Most Before we get out of here,
- 17:04Speaker 1: let's look at that such up a little bit. The
- 17:06Speaker 1: Giants kicked your butt last time, they physically beat you up.
- 17:11Speaker 2: Does that wouldn't do anything to me?
- 17:12Speaker 3: I'm I feel great.
- 17:16Speaker 1: Would you be surprised if they were able to come
- 17:19Speaker 1: out and do the same thing and just physically win
- 17:21Speaker 1: at the line of scrimmage? We're talking about problems up
- 17:23Speaker 1: front on offensive line, defensive pass rush. Would you be
- 17:26Speaker 1: surprised if the Giants, like why shouldn't I think the
- 17:30Speaker 1: Giants could beat you up again.
- 17:33Speaker 2: That's fair. I get where you're coming. I mean, I'd
- 17:36Speaker 2: be surprised if the Eagles lost thirty four to seventeen, sure,
- 17:39Speaker 2: for sure, But I wouldn't you know, am I saying
- 17:42Speaker 2: that this is an absolute no doubt about it? Wait,
- 17:45Speaker 2: Or that the Giants won't come up and be really
- 17:47Speaker 2: competitive despite their record.
- 17:49Speaker 1: No.
- 17:49Speaker 2: I think that if anything the Giants have shown you
- 17:52Speaker 2: over the last few weeks is that they believe in themselves.
- 17:56Speaker 2: And the one thing that's very interesting about how they're
- 17:59Speaker 2: coaching Jackson Dart If you watch their games, they don't
- 18:02Speaker 2: coach him like he's a rookie quarterback. You don't see
- 18:05Speaker 2: Brian Dable limiting his throws or making easy I mean.
- 18:10Speaker 3: Have they have not?
- 18:11Speaker 2: They're throwing the ball around, right, I mean they're they're
- 18:14Speaker 2: they're not treating him with training wheels. Okay, sort of
- 18:17Speaker 2: like the way Washington treated Jayden Daniels this year. Hey,
- 18:20Speaker 2: let's come out and throw them, let's come out and
- 18:22Speaker 2: row with them. Let's run this offense that Cliff cranks
- 18:24Speaker 2: very design. So that's impressive, and I think that it
- 18:28Speaker 2: has had a widespread impact on the team. Now, they
- 18:33Speaker 2: really blew a big game, and that's gonna be tough
- 18:35Speaker 2: to come back from. I heard you talking about before.
- 18:38Speaker 2: It is like the first time in one thousand and sixty.
- 18:40Speaker 2: That's almost unbelievable. That's stat But if anything, this team
- 18:44Speaker 2: looks pretty resilient and they're confident, and they are strong upfront.
- 18:48Speaker 2: Now I think their defensive coordinator is doing a lousy job,
- 18:51Speaker 2: but they did a good job against the Eagles, and
- 18:53Speaker 2: I expect that this will not be some kind of
- 18:55Speaker 2: like you know, forty two to thirteen type of win
- 18:57Speaker 2: for the Eagles like it used to be when they played.
- 19:00Speaker 1: I think one of the crazy things of this season
- 19:02Speaker 1: is how the Giant defense, like you know, their pass
- 19:05Speaker 1: rush and the personnel they had, they have really struggled.
- 19:08Speaker 3: Like I thought their.
- 19:08Speaker 1: Defense would be a pain in the butt to play,
- 19:10Speaker 1: and that has not been the case. Their defense obviously
- 19:12Speaker 1: last week that was unbelievable. Do you have thirty points
- 19:15Speaker 1: in a quarter?
- 19:17Speaker 2: Yeah? And the crazy thing is I think Burns has
- 19:19Speaker 2: a lot of sacks. If I'm not mistaken, this.
- 19:21Speaker 3: Guy like six he's been very good.
- 19:23Speaker 2: Yeah, And then early in the year this is this
- 19:26Speaker 2: is why I have to question a little bit with
- 19:27Speaker 2: Bowen's doing as a defense coordinator. When they went to
- 19:30Speaker 2: a four man rush, they were taking Dexter Lawrence off
- 19:32Speaker 2: the field. He was not part of it. And I'm
- 19:34Speaker 2: like Dexter Lawrence was an all pro. I mean, he's
- 19:37Speaker 2: one of the rare three hundred and forty five pound
- 19:39Speaker 2: guys who can get you like six to eight sacks
- 19:41Speaker 2: from the inside, and you're taking them off the field
- 19:44Speaker 2: on pass rushing downs. I didn't understand that. I still don't.
- 19:48Speaker 2: I thought the Giants had a chance to have the
- 19:50Speaker 2: best four man rush in football between Burns, Thibodeau, Lawrence
- 19:54Speaker 2: and a Duel Carter. But I feel like they're not
- 19:56Speaker 2: getting the opportunity to.
- 19:57Speaker 1: Do that that And you know, with Philly played them
- 20:01Speaker 1: last time, I mean, they couldn't move the ball against
- 20:04Speaker 1: the Giants. That was another problem. They struggled in every
- 20:06Speaker 1: capacity against against New York. And you would think that
- 20:08Speaker 1: you would be able to take some shots down the
- 20:10Speaker 1: field against them this time because they're not that strong
- 20:13Speaker 1: in the secondary.
- 20:15Speaker 2: Agree, although I do like some of their secondary players,
- 20:18Speaker 2: but I mean, for whatever reason, they just haven't put
- 20:21Speaker 2: it together on defense. But I again when you're playing
- 20:24Speaker 2: confidently and you believe in yourself and you're playing Arrival
- 20:28Speaker 2: that you just beat, I think that that says something.
- 20:30Speaker 2: So I think this will be an interesting game.
- 20:32Speaker 3: Oh I agree. It shouldn't be an interesting game.
- 20:34Speaker 1: To lose twice in the same season at home against
- 20:36Speaker 1: the Giants, man would be absolutely disgraceful. I mean, especially
- 20:42Speaker 1: going into the bye week. You know, you get this one,
- 20:45Speaker 1: you get the taste out of your mouth for that
- 20:47Speaker 1: Thursday because I'll tell you what, that Thursday game still
- 20:49Speaker 1: kind of resonates and sits that you got beat up
- 20:51Speaker 1: the way you did physically.
- 20:52Speaker 2: That's all right. Jillen Carter should play in the game,
- 20:56Speaker 2: so that's good. But again, like it's Wednesday here, we
- 20:59Speaker 2: gotta see this report. AJ Brown's banged up, Kim Jurgens
- 21:02Speaker 2: doesn't play.
- 21:04Speaker 1: You know, the press conference with Nick was before practice
- 21:07Speaker 1: for everybody out there, so they make a chance to
- 21:10Speaker 1: ask about him.
- 21:11Speaker 2: So if you tell me that A. J. Brown's not playing,
- 21:13Speaker 2: Cam Jurgen's not playing, Jeorgy Jackson's not playing, and all
- 21:17Speaker 2: of a sudden, that's the great equalizer big time.
- 21:20Speaker 1: All right, Well that's what happened last time. No Landon
- 21:22Speaker 1: Dicker said, no, Jalen Carter get a bunch of guys
- 21:25Speaker 1: out and the result was you got smoked and they
- 21:28Speaker 1: physically beat you up. That's what stands out about that game.
- 21:31Speaker 1: It wasn't a fluke thing the kicker missed an extra
- 21:33Speaker 1: point this, No, they physically beat you to a pulp.
- 21:38Speaker 3: All right, maybe I'm going a little over, No, not
- 21:40Speaker 3: really everything, No, I'm mean.
- 21:42Speaker 2: And they lost by seventeen points in the Giants who
- 21:45Speaker 2: had one win.
- 21:46Speaker 1: So you're right, yes, all right, Jeff Bocher, everybody from
