- 0:00Speaker 1: It's more of Mark the Mark Simon Show on WR Hey, well,
- 0:09Speaker 1: we got a lot to get to this hour. So
- 0:11Speaker 1: they are drawing down in Minnesota, Tom Holman announcing earlier
- 0:16Speaker 1: he will remove seven hundred ICE agents. They got three
- 0:19Speaker 1: thousand there, so they'll take about one third of them
- 0:22Speaker 1: home or somewhere else. Now, the problem is you don't
- 0:26Speaker 1: want to encourage these kind of protesters to move to
- 0:29Speaker 1: other cities. Now. ICE is operating all over America and
- 0:33Speaker 1: in many, many cities on a much bigger scale, and
- 0:37Speaker 1: there's no problem. The locals cooperate. Everything's done in a nice,
- 0:41Speaker 1: orderly fashion. It's only in Minnesota that they decided to
- 0:45Speaker 1: terrorize the ICE agents with protesters confronting them again. Confrontations everywhere.
- 0:52Speaker 1: But one of the reasons they're pulling out is they've
- 0:54Speaker 1: gotten about four thousand dangerous criminals off the street. Could
- 0:57Speaker 1: you imagine the federal governments in a force to remove
- 1:01Speaker 1: the most dangerous criminals off your street, and you get
- 1:04Speaker 1: mad at them and try to block them and try
- 1:06Speaker 1: to give them a hard time. So things calming down
- 1:09Speaker 1: a little in Minnesota. Hey, the Grammy Awards, which was
- 1:14Speaker 1: like the big anti ICE show this year, the Grammy
- 1:18Speaker 1: Awards with all the anti ice stuff, got a very
- 1:21Speaker 1: very low ratings, low ratings even worse than last year.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Last year wasn't so hot. Grammy's hit fourteen million. That's
- 1:30Speaker 1: good for today's television. But you know, the good old days,
- 1:33Speaker 1: the Grammys would get sixty five million, eighty million. Now
- 1:36Speaker 1: it's fourteen million, down six percent from last year, which
- 1:39Speaker 1: wasn't so hot.
- 1:40Speaker 2: Hey.
- 1:40Speaker 1: By the way, it's the last year for CBS and
- 1:44Speaker 1: the Grammys. You know, the Grammy Awards have been on
- 1:48Speaker 1: CBS for fifty years, beginning in nineteen seventy three. The
- 1:55Speaker 1: Grammy Awards were around in the fifties, and it was
- 1:59Speaker 1: the great producer Pierre Cosette, our old buddy who I
- 2:03Speaker 1: think it was nineteen fifty nine or sixty. He got
- 2:06Speaker 1: the idea to make it into a TV show, which
- 2:09Speaker 1: the networks thought was crazy, but he convinced them and
- 2:15Speaker 1: he got it on television for the first time. And
- 2:18Speaker 1: Pierre's close friend Andy Williams was the first host of
- 2:21Speaker 1: the Grammy Awards and it did very well. But then
- 2:24Speaker 1: about I think it was the early seventies, they decided
- 2:27Speaker 1: to cancel the Grammys. They didn't they weren't interested in
- 2:29Speaker 1: putting it on TV anymore. So Pierre went to CBS.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Bob Wood was the Presidency of Use and he was
- 2:37Speaker 1: close to him, convegged and pleaded, convinced him to try
- 2:41Speaker 1: it on CBS. And that's where it's been for fifty years.
- 2:45Speaker 1: But this is the last year. Now it's moving next
- 2:47Speaker 1: year to Disney. Disney made a ten year deal for
- 2:51Speaker 1: the Grammy Awards, so next year it will be a
- 2:54Speaker 1: Disney show. It'll be on ABC, Disney Plus, and Hulu.
- 2:59Speaker 1: It'll be a sign cast on all three. So we'll
- 3:03Speaker 1: see if it does any better streaming. Hey, you know
- 3:07Speaker 1: that silly guy, Jerry Nadler, That waddling, ridiculous looking figure,
- 3:12Speaker 1: Jerry Nadler, left wing, angry guy. He's getting a lot
- 3:17Speaker 1: of flat. Yesterday he made crazy, reckless comments. He said
- 3:23Speaker 1: he was going after Ice and he said the major
- 3:25Speaker 1: problem in this country is fascism in our streets. He said,
- 3:30Speaker 1: the attacks and American citizens by masked hoodlums. He's calling
- 3:36Speaker 1: law enforcement hoodlums. If you were attacked by a masked person,
- 3:41Speaker 1: you might think you were being kidnapped. You'd be justified
- 3:44Speaker 1: in shooting the person to protect yourself. So imagine this
- 3:47Speaker 1: is how crazy they get. They're like little children and
- 3:51Speaker 1: they're so angry. And you know, when little children are angry,
- 3:54Speaker 1: they just spew anything out of their mouth. But Nadler's
- 3:57Speaker 1: a you know, public official, he should know better, but
- 4:00Speaker 1: he's spewing all this nonsense about you would be justified
- 4:04Speaker 1: in shooting ice because they're masked and you think you're
- 4:07Speaker 1: being kidnapped. And JD. Vance was the first to speak out,
- 4:11Speaker 1: calling Nadler demented, despicable behavior from an elected official. Donald
- 4:18Speaker 1: Trump Junior the guy's demented Democrats once again openly calling
- 4:23Speaker 1: for violence. But again, you got to remember, they're so angry.
- 4:29Speaker 1: The anger is again it's childish anger, like juvenile, childish,
- 4:34Speaker 1: out of control anger that they can't even And a
- 4:36Speaker 1: lot of these people are normally articulate people, but they
- 4:39Speaker 1: come to this and they can't even express themselves. They
- 4:42Speaker 1: just spew all this crazy, hysterical hyperbole. And Nadler getting
- 4:48Speaker 1: a lot of flack for it. Hey, you know the
- 4:51Speaker 1: story of Jill Biden's ex husband. Jill Biden was married
- 4:57Speaker 1: to a guy named Bill Stevenson million years a gooing Delaware.
- 5:00Speaker 1: They were married I think she was. Was she the
- 5:05Speaker 1: babysitter for the Stevenson Oh no, the I don't know something.
- 5:09Speaker 1: She was a babysitter winning But anyway, married to this guy,
- 5:12Speaker 1: Bill Stevenson, seems to be a happy marriage. But Joe Biden,
- 5:16Speaker 1: a young Joe Biden is the Senator and he somehow
- 5:20Speaker 1: meets Jill Biden and he starts having an affair with
- 5:24Speaker 1: her while she's married to Bill Stevenson. So Jill Biden
- 5:28Speaker 1: starts having a married woman has an affair with the
- 5:32Speaker 1: Senator Biden, and they're carrying on for a while, and
- 5:37Speaker 1: one day Jill's husband, Bill Stevenson, finds out his car
- 5:41Speaker 1: was in an accident. The car accident got banged up,
- 5:44Speaker 1: smashed a little, and then when the police report and
- 5:48Speaker 1: everything comes out, it turns out Joe Biden, the Senator,
- 5:52Speaker 1: was driving the wife's car and that's where he started
- 5:54Speaker 1: to realize they were having an affair. So it all
- 5:57Speaker 1: comes out that she's sleeping with and I think Joe
- 6:00Speaker 1: I was married at the time too, so she's having
- 6:03Speaker 1: an affair with him. Anyway, they end up getting divorced
- 6:05Speaker 1: Bill Stevenson and his wife Jill. They end up getting
- 6:09Speaker 1: a divorce. It gets messy. It goes into court and
- 6:14Speaker 1: Joe Biden is dating the wife, so he gets involved,
- 6:17Speaker 1: the Senator, Joe Biden, and he tries to really screw
- 6:19Speaker 1: over Bill Stevenson in court so that Jill gets everything,
- 6:24Speaker 1: takes everything the guy has. But the judge in the
- 6:27Speaker 1: court saw right through this some shenanigans Joe Biden was
- 6:30Speaker 1: trying to pull, and he ruled in Bill Stevenson's favor
- 6:35Speaker 1: where Jill didn't get everything he had. In fact that
- 6:37Speaker 1: it ended up Jill Biden owed him money. So the
- 6:40Speaker 1: guy who was lucky, he got a very fair judge
- 6:42Speaker 1: who saw what was going on. Well, it's Joe Biden,
- 6:47Speaker 1: evil Joe Biden. So then about a month later, Joe
- 6:51Speaker 1: Biden has Bill Stevenson arrested. You know, Joe Biden was
- 6:56Speaker 1: the senator in Delaware. It's a little small states, like
- 6:58Speaker 1: it's almost like a county, and Joe Biden had a
- 7:01Speaker 1: lot of cloud He ranged for this husband of Jill's
- 7:06Speaker 1: to get arrested taken to jail over absolutely nothing. He
- 7:10Speaker 1: had a couple of businesses he owned restaurants and bars,
- 7:13Speaker 1: and one of the businesses they quarterly taxed was like
- 7:18Speaker 1: a thousand dollars and they got paid two days late,
- 7:21Speaker 1: which is nothing normal. But the police show up, they
- 7:25Speaker 1: arrest Bill Stevenson, they take him to jail. This is
- 7:29Speaker 1: all Joe Biden doing lawfair. He's got a long history
- 7:33Speaker 1: of using and weaponizing lawfare against his enemies. So that's
- 7:37Speaker 1: what happened there. Stevenson. Eventually he got convicted, but he
- 7:44Speaker 1: eventually went back to work and became again as a
- 7:46Speaker 1: very successful businessman. Now, in the last year or so,
- 7:50Speaker 1: there's been talk of getting a pardon for this guy
- 7:53Speaker 1: because it was the first terrible example of lawfare from
- 7:57Speaker 1: Joe Biden falsely convicting this guy, arresting this guy. So
- 8:01Speaker 1: a lot of people had gone to President Trump and
- 8:03Speaker 1: told him the story and tried to get a pardon
- 8:06Speaker 1: for this guy, Bill Stevens, and there's been talk of
- 8:08Speaker 1: this pardon coming. Well, all of a sudden, now it
- 8:13Speaker 1: comes out that Bill Stevenson murdered his wife, his new wife,
- 8:17Speaker 1: his current wife. She was found dead. Police have arrested
- 8:21Speaker 1: Bill Stevenson. They think he murdered her in a domestic
- 8:24Speaker 1: violence kind of situation. But it's made a lot of
- 8:28Speaker 1: people suspicious. They'd still somehow see the hand of Joe
- 8:31Speaker 1: Biden in this somewhere. I have no idea. I don't know,
- 8:36Speaker 1: maybe murdered her, maybe didn't, and people that know him
- 8:38Speaker 1: can't believe it. So everybody looking carefully at this case
- 8:42Speaker 1: to see if there was any any funny business trying
- 8:45Speaker 1: to frame Bill Stevenson all of this. But we'll see
- 8:49Speaker 1: he's been arrested and we'll see what happens in this case. Hey,
- 8:52Speaker 1: speaking of domestic violence, So you know, mom, Donnie has
- 8:56Speaker 1: brought back this tired, old, ridiculous thing about you don't
- 9:00Speaker 1: need police to respond to everything. Why can't we have
- 9:04Speaker 1: psychologists respond? Why can't we have social workers respond? So
- 9:08Speaker 1: if there's a domestic violence situation, the husband and wife,
- 9:12Speaker 1: domestic viods, let's have a social worker respond. And of
- 9:15Speaker 1: course everybody argues that that is the most police will tap.
- 9:20Speaker 1: It's the most dangerous call you could respond to. Domestic
- 9:23Speaker 1: violence is usually an out of control husband with a
- 9:26Speaker 1: big butcher knife, or he's in a rage, he's like controlled,
- 9:31Speaker 1: it's a It's the one thing cops hate to respond to.
- 9:34Speaker 1: You can really get hurt in a domestic violence situation.
- 9:39Speaker 1: So Mamdani wants to send in the social workers. It's
- 9:42Speaker 1: a ridiculous idea.
- 9:43Speaker 2: That is why I proposed creating a Department of Community
- 9:46Speaker 2: Safety to build a mental health system rooted in prevention,
- 9:49Speaker 2: in sustained care, and real crisis response, so officers no
- 9:53Speaker 2: longer have to handle these situations along. As I've said,
- 9:56Speaker 2: when there is a violent situation, such as with the weapon,
- 9:59Speaker 2: NYPD will be I'm to.
- 10:00Speaker 1: See yeah, okay, Now, if you think it makes sense
- 10:02Speaker 1: they have the social gris response. The answer is pretty simple.
- 10:05Speaker 1: If you talk to our great police commissioners, Ray Kelly
- 10:10Speaker 1: and the other great commissioners, they will explain to you
- 10:14Speaker 1: they have tried it. It's been tried in the past
- 10:17Speaker 1: two three times. New York City tried it. They did it,
- 10:21Speaker 1: they actually put it into effect. Now it turned out
- 10:24Speaker 1: the social workers got killed, stabbed, beaten up. It was horrible.
- 10:29Speaker 1: It doesn't work. Not to mention that after a while,
- 10:33Speaker 1: no social worker will respond. They don't want to respond
- 10:36Speaker 1: to any of these things. It's too dangerous. But New
- 10:38Speaker 1: York City has tried it. It has failed miserably and
- 10:41Speaker 1: violently every time. So it's a ridiculous idea. Police officers
- 10:48Speaker 1: will explain it to you. If you're going to send
- 10:50Speaker 1: only medical professionals there. Understand that it's a changing dynamic
- 10:54Speaker 1: quickly they can pick up a weapon and charge at them.
- 10:56Speaker 1: What are they going to do then? How are they
- 10:58Speaker 1: going to defend themselves. That's why the police have to
- 11:00Speaker 1: go to these things. Now, if you want to pair
- 11:02Speaker 1: them all for the medical professional, that's fine. Yeah, now
- 11:04Speaker 1: they're trying that. So I guess that's the Mom Donnie program,
- 11:09Speaker 1: you know. But again, police have been through this a
- 11:12Speaker 1: million times. It doesn't make any sense to send the
- 11:15Speaker 1: social work here. Police get there, calm it down, and
- 11:18Speaker 1: maybe they have to take the husband in or something,
- 11:20Speaker 1: and then you send the social worker later at another time.
- 11:23Speaker 1: So this is the problem with Mom Donnie. You know,
- 11:27Speaker 1: he's never worked, he's never had a job, he's never
- 11:31Speaker 1: run anything, and he's like a college kid who just
- 11:34Speaker 1: got out of college. You know. They go to these
- 11:37Speaker 1: crazy ivy league kind of colleges where they teach them
- 11:40Speaker 1: all this flowery nonsense that never works in real life,
- 11:44Speaker 1: and they believe all this stuff, and you cannot explain
- 11:47Speaker 1: to them whether it's socialism or social workers responding to
- 11:51Speaker 1: domestic finds. You can't explain to them this has been
- 11:54Speaker 1: tried seven thousand times. It fails every single time. You
- 11:59Speaker 1: got to be so ridiculously naive to keep trying it
- 12:03Speaker 1: even though it's failed every single time. Hey, speaking of ice,
- 12:08Speaker 1: Jimmy Kimmel admits he not only goes to the anti
- 12:11Speaker 1: ice rallies, he brings his whole family with him out
- 12:15Speaker 1: there fighting law enforcement, standing up to them, trying to
- 12:19Speaker 1: stop them. You know, these guys like Jimmy Kimmeler or Colbert,
- 12:25Speaker 1: they're so ridiculously partisan. They don't realize there's half the
- 12:31Speaker 1: country cannot even watch them. It's impossible. You've already gotten
- 12:34Speaker 1: rid of fifty percent of your audience before you even started.
- 12:38Speaker 1: They can't figure out they've got no ratings at all.
- 12:40Speaker 1: You know, Kimmel's got like one million viewers, Colbert maybe
- 12:43Speaker 1: he's got one point one million. They got absolutely nobody watching, nobody.
- 12:48Speaker 1: You know, Johnny Carson used to have fifteen million people.
- 12:52Speaker 1: What They just can't figure this out. They end up
- 12:55Speaker 1: getting fired. Colbert is fired. He's wrapping it up in
- 12:59Speaker 1: a couple of weeks. Kimmel is basically fired. They wouldn't
- 13:03Speaker 1: renew his contract. They just gave him a one year extension,
- 13:06Speaker 1: which is unheard of. You always give a three to
- 13:08Speaker 1: five year renewal. He just got a little extension, so
- 13:12Speaker 1: he's basically fired. And take the Washington Post. You know,
- 13:15Speaker 1: here's another example. The Washington Post was always a little
- 13:19Speaker 1: slanted to the left, but then it went crazy Trump
- 13:22Speaker 1: arrangement syndrome, partisan and you get rid of half your audience.
- 13:27Speaker 1: You can't read, so readership is way way down. It's
- 13:32Speaker 1: now owned by Jeff Bezos. And if you got very
- 13:35Speaker 1: few readers, you got to start cutting costs. So they
- 13:37Speaker 1: just announced they're laying off three hundred people. They're getting
- 13:42Speaker 1: rid of the sports section, of this section, of that section.
- 13:46Speaker 1: The employees are up in arms. There's a mutiny. They're outraged.
- 13:49Speaker 1: They can't believe it. But but if you go that partisan,
- 13:54Speaker 1: you're going to lose a lot of people. You caused
- 13:56Speaker 1: your own downfall, Bezos, What is he supposed to do
- 14:00Speaker 1: if you got if you lose eighty percent of your
- 14:04Speaker 1: audience at some point, you got to cut eighty percent
- 14:06Speaker 1: of your staff. But they're so idealistic they can't figure
- 14:09Speaker 1: it out. Hey, the Kennedy Center, the rebuilding will begin.
- 14:15Speaker 1: Now you're going to hear fake news like The Washington Post,
- 14:18Speaker 1: New York Times. They're going to try to convince you
- 14:20Speaker 1: this is some crazy idea Trump wanting to shut down
- 14:24Speaker 1: the Kennedy Center and rebuild it. What a crazy Trump idea.
- 14:27Speaker 1: It's not a Trump idea. The government has been planning
- 14:29Speaker 1: this for a long time, long before Trump got there.
- 14:32Speaker 1: In fact, the projects expected to cost about two hundred million.
- 14:37Speaker 1: In fact, it was ast year ago Congress decided to
- 14:41Speaker 1: this had to be done, and they voted the money.
- 14:43Speaker 1: They voted in two hundred and fifty seven million to
- 14:46Speaker 1: repair Kennedy Center. So it has nothing to do with Trump.
- 14:50Speaker 1: It was already planned, already underway. Congress had already voted
- 14:53Speaker 1: in the money. The difference now is, I guess they're
- 14:56Speaker 1: going to try to do a lot of patchwork in there,
- 14:59Speaker 1: which isn't the Trump is the one of the finest, best,
- 15:02Speaker 1: most knowledgeable builders in America. He personally inspected everything in
- 15:06Speaker 1: there and realized you can't do a patchwork job. You
- 15:09Speaker 1: got to rebuild the whole thing. He personally inspected it
- 15:13Speaker 1: showed pipes were crumbling, everything, the whole infrastructure is crumbling.
- 15:18Speaker 1: The elevators are ridiculously outdated. If they're decades outdated. They
- 15:23Speaker 1: need to be replaced there at the end of their life.
- 15:25Speaker 1: These elevators the underground parking garage showed tremendous structural failure
- 15:32Speaker 1: from the concrete spiling of falling apart. So they're gonna
- 15:37Speaker 1: have to like literally gut the whole thing. They can
- 15:39Speaker 1: keep some of the steel. But remember you got an
- 15:42Speaker 1: absolute expert in the White House at this kind of stuff.
- 15:45Speaker 1: But it was the whole plan was begun long before
- 15:49Speaker 1: Trump got there. Hey, we'll take some calls. Next. Eight
- 15:52Speaker 1: hundred three to two one zero seven ten is the number.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Eight hundred three two one zero seven to ten
