Transcript
- 0:00Sean McAllister: It's episode 70, and this is the first big holiday weekend in Las Vegas, and we are expecting massive crowds.
- 0:08Dayna Roselli: Oh, we really are.
- 0:10Dayna Roselli: And we also have an update on the US and UK travel restrictions.
- 0:14Dayna Roselli: It's not looking good for things to kick up anytime soon.
- 0:18Sean McAllister: Plus, we have more show announcements rolling in and some shows moving out.
- 0:23Dayna Roselli: The list goes on.
- 0:24Dayna Roselli: Why don't we just spin the wheel and get started?
- 0:26Sean McAllister: Let's do it.
- 0:31Sean McAllister: Let's go to Vegas, baby.
- 0:33Sean McAllister: Let's go and get it.
- 0:35Sean McAllister: Let's go to Vegas.
- 0:37Sean McAllister: Let's stay to finite.
- 0:39Dayna Roselli: Welcome to Vegas Revealed episode 70.
- 0:42Dayna Roselli: We have finally, I don't know, we're in retirement, Sean?
- 0:46Dayna Roselli: 70?
- 0:47Sean McAllister: 70, yeah.
- 0:49Sean McAllister: Well into retirement.
- 0:50Dayna Roselli: Well into retirement.
- 0:51Dayna Roselli: I'm Dana Roselli, along with Sean McAllister.
- 0:54Dayna Roselli: And boy, we're feeling a little loopy because we were just going over the number of things we need to talk about that are going on in Las Vegas, and it's insane.
- 1:01Sean McAllister: I mean, so here's the deal.
- 1:03Sean McAllister: For the past 14 months, almost 15 months at this point, we have been waiting for a ton of stuff to talk about in Las Vegas because obviously over the past year everything was shut down.
- 1:17Sean McAllister: Well, now there is just too much to talk about.
- 1:21Dayna Roselli: Too much to talk about.
- 1:22Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 1:23Dayna Roselli: But we've got, you know, a lot of information.
- 1:25Dayna Roselli: So if you're you're tuning in and you're curious about what's going on in Las Vegas at the moment, get ready, buckle up, and here we go.
- 1:35Sean McAllister: I think this is going to be kind of a rapid fire episode.
- 1:37Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 1:38Dayna Roselli: Because we're like, yeah, we need to hit that, we need to hit that, we need to hit this.
- 1:41Dayna Roselli: But something that we did mention is obviously it is Memorial Day weekend here in the United States, and obviously that for some reason is always kind of the kickoff to summer, and people take the long weekend and they go away.
- 1:55Dayna Roselli: A lot of people um especially do like driving trips.
- 1:59Dayna Roselli: Yep.
- 1:59Dayna Roselli: And Las Vegas right now is very much a driving destination for a lot of people on the West Coast, and already traffic has started on our kind of section there in between Los Angeles and Las Vegas earlier in the week.
- 2:13Dayna Roselli: We're recording this on a Friday.
- 2:14Dayna Roselli: You are listening to it Saturday and after, but this current weekend, even the traffic buildup the week before has been massive.
- 2:22Sean McAllister: Yeah, it's been absolutely nuts.
- 2:23Sean McAllister: I've seen uh throughout the week the traffic just starting to pick up coming in from Southern California and even from Arizona, too.
- 2:33Sean McAllister: So we know that there are going to be big crowds here in Las Vegas for Memorial Day weekend, which is really the first big holiday that we've had since uh things have started to open up a little bit.
- 2:47Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 2:47Dayna Roselli: So, you know, our numbers have already been up, which is great.
- 2:51Dayna Roselli: And then a lot of people that are locals are going, uh man, I'm you know, I'm gonna like stay away from the strip a little bit this weekend because they expect us to have so many visitors, and everyone feels like everyone just wants to let loose, so it could be a little, you know, a little crazier than normal, maybe.
- 3:09Sean McAllister: Well, Las Vegas is uh one of the top driving destinations for Memorial Day weekend, so they are expecting things to be absolutely nuts.
- 3:18Sean McAllister: Uh Triple A uh came out with its holiday weekend report saying that they've seen a 60% increase in travel over Memorial Day weekend.
- 3:30Sean McAllister: So there is going to be heavy traffic coming in and out.
- 3:35Sean McAllister: And um, I think if you are one of those drivers and you are stuck on the 15 right now and you're listening to Vegas Revealed, well, thanks.
- 3:46Dayna Roselli: Thanks.
- 3:47Dayna Roselli: Well, let's list off the things that we have going on, right?
- 3:50Sean McAllister: Let's do it.
- 3:50Dayna Roselli: Um, well, first of all, we have a lot of things coming up, and so when we say say announcements sometimes, it's things that are announced but actually aren't happening yet because they're, you know, they do this well, well in advance now.
- 4:01Dayna Roselli: We're talking about, you know, a bunch of shows that are coming back here in Las Vegas.
- 4:05Dayna Roselli: So we've got Gwen Stefani returning to Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood, which is a big deal.
- 4:09Dayna Roselli: She's gonna do her um just a girl residency from October 22nd to November 6th.
- 4:16Dayna Roselli: So I wasn't sure if she was gonna be coming back, but she is.
- 4:19Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 4:20Dayna Roselli: Her show's great.
- 4:21Sean McAllister: And also over at the Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood, Shania Twain has announced her return to the stage over there.
- 4:29Sean McAllister: And it was actually last March when Shania was doing her run of shows that uh the emails started going out that the next day Las Vegas was effectively going to be shut down.
- 4:43Sean McAllister: That shows were going to stop, restaurants were closing, everything was pretty much stopping.
- 4:49Sean McAllister: So Shania was one of the last entertainers on stage uh before Las Vegas went dark, and now we're getting the news that she will be back.
- 4:58Sean McAllister: Of course, she's a a global icon, country superstar, and it's a great show.
- 5:04Dayna Roselli: And I never saw her at Zappo, so I saw her at the Coliseum at Caesars Palace.
- 5:07Dayna Roselli: You saw her at Zappo's Theater, right?
- 5:09Dayna Roselli: I remember us chatting about this.
- 5:10Dayna Roselli: Yes and you enjoyed that show.
- 5:12Sean McAllister: Yeah, I thought it was great.
- 5:13Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 5:13Sean McAllister: It was a fun show.
- 5:14Dayna Roselli: And then we've talked about the resorts world shows that have been announced in the theater that isn't opening when the resort opens on June 24th.
- 5:21Dayna Roselli: It'll be later, what did we say, August-ish in the fall, maybe November.
- 5:25Dayna Roselli: November.
- 5:26Dayna Roselli: Okay, right.
- 5:26Dayna Roselli: The nightclubs in August or the fall and then the theater, November.
- 5:30Dayna Roselli: But we talked about Celine Dion and Carrie Underwood adding shows already because tickets went on sale and the sales were so fantastic.
- 5:38Dayna Roselli: Well, Luke Bryan has now announced he's adding shows too.
- 5:42Dayna Roselli: So, you know, obviously everyone's selling really well over there at Resorts World, which hasn't even opened yet.
- 5:46Sean McAllister: And I think Katy Perry has added additional shows as well.
- 5:50Sean McAllister: Her performances start uh in December.
- 5:53Dayna Roselli: Right, Chris around Christmas, right?
- 5:55Dayna Roselli: Right into New Year's.
- 5:56Dayna Roselli: Um Dre's Beach Club opening and nightclub.
- 5:59Dayna Roselli: They announced uh the grand reopening, and this will be June 4th, okay?
- 6:04Dayna Roselli: So not just yet, but coming up next week.
- 6:07Dayna Roselli: And they have a whole weekend plan, you know.
- 6:09Dayna Roselli: We everyone's having these grand reopenings because it's exciting that, you know, they've been closed for so long and they're able to kind of get back to what they did before.
- 6:18Sean McAllister: And Dre's is just one of the beach clubs and pool venues that are going to be absolutely I mean, pecked to the gills this Memorial Day weekend.
- 6:30Sean McAllister: Uh people are gonna be out there because it's gonna be hot.
- 6:33Dayna Roselli: Right, it is gonna be hot.
- 6:34Sean McAllister: We're like hovering right around the hundred degree mark already.
- 6:38Dayna Roselli: Already, yeah.
- 6:39Sean McAllister: You know, heading into June.
- 6:40Sean McAllister: So it is going to literally and figuratively be one hell of a hot summer here in Las Vegas.
- 6:47Dayna Roselli: I mean, next weekend we're looking at Thursday, hitting around 107 in certain parts of the valley.
- 6:52Dayna Roselli: Woo, I know.
- 6:53Dayna Roselli: And just so people know, Dre's Beach Club sits on top of the Cromwell.
- 6:57Sean McAllister: Right, right at the corner there of uh Flamingo and Las Vegas Boulevard.
- 7:01Sean McAllister: So it's a fun spot and a beautiful view at night.
- 7:04Dayna Roselli: It really, really is.
- 7:06Dayna Roselli: Hey, and then comedian Daniel Tosh is doing some stand-up at the CA Theater at the MGM Grand, and that's gonna take place on August 14th.
- 7:15Dayna Roselli: That show's scheduled for 7:30.
- 7:17Dayna Roselli: I know a lot of people like Daniel Tosh.
- 7:18Sean McAllister: Yeah, so the the shows are coming back, and one of the shows that has been back for a little bit now is uh magician Matt Franco.
- 7:28Sean McAllister: His show, Reinvented Nightly, has uh once again started to reinvent itself nightly over at the link.
- 7:35Sean McAllister: And we popped over there and saw the show the other night, Dana.
- 7:39Dayna Roselli: Yeah, some incredible magic.
- 7:40Dayna Roselli: I mean, really, sometimes you just which is the point, you know, of going to a magic show when you're wowed and you're like, how did you do that?
- 7:47Dayna Roselli: But that was what we kept saying through the whole show.
- 7:49Dayna Roselli: But uh the one thing I really wanted to point out was the showroom setup.
- 7:53Dayna Roselli: I loved it.
- 7:54Dayna Roselli: It was like the seats.
- 7:55Dayna Roselli: If you were just it was two people, they had you in two seats next to each other, comfortable seating, and then tons of space until the next two, and then the next two, and then other people that were in threes or fours, they were grouped together.
- 8:09Dayna Roselli: So I loved the spread out of that showroom.
- 8:11Dayna Roselli: They did a great job.
- 8:12Sean McAllister: Yeah, they did.
- 8:13Sean McAllister: And even the people down in the the first tier of the the theater closest to the stage, they had like lounge, like club lounge chairs that they were in.
- 8:25Sean McAllister: That looked super comfy.
- 8:26Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 8:27Sean McAllister: The chairs that we were in, you know, that was nice seating too, and it was all staggered.
- 8:32Sean McAllister: Um, they did, they did a really great job.
- 8:34Sean McAllister: And I I think the trick that you, Matt's trick that you liked the most was when he kept making wine bottles appear.
- 8:42Sean McAllister: That's true though.
- 8:43Dayna Roselli: I did.
- 8:44Dayna Roselli: Well, because they're heavy bottles.
- 8:45Dayna Roselli: Like, how did those appear?
- 8:47Dayna Roselli: But I mean, that was incredible.
- 8:49Dayna Roselli: And you know, there's so many other things I could talk about, but I also know as a magician having a show, you want people to have the element of surprise.
- 8:57Dayna Roselli: So we could go down a rundown of different things he did, but we want to leave that, you know, for people to go and and be wild themselves.
- 9:03Dayna Roselli: But yeah, that wine bottle one was that was killer.
- 9:06Dayna Roselli: It is.
- 9:07Sean McAllister: That was that was great.
- 9:08Sean McAllister: Um, so Matt Franco is back.
- 9:11Sean McAllister: Uh something that's not entertainment related, but can help you get around the city a little bit more, especially the the strip corridor, the Las Vegas monorail has resumed its normal daily functions.
- 9:25Dayna Roselli: It's so exciting.
- 9:26Dayna Roselli: I live right near one of the monorail stations, and I always used to see the monorail go back and forth, and it's colorful.
- 9:32Dayna Roselli: There's different ones, they have different kinds of wraps.
- 9:34Dayna Roselli: And I just saw it parked there for a year, collecting dust, and it was sad.
- 9:39Dayna Roselli: It was like, wow, things aren't even moving, you know.
- 9:42Dayna Roselli: But now the monorail is back.
- 9:44Dayna Roselli: So, yes, it's really exciting for those folks that are gonna be going to conventions that are, you know, coming back in small doses, but the world of concrete kicks off on June 8th to the 10th.
- 9:54Dayna Roselli: So this will help because the monorail starts at the Sahara, yep, and then you know, goes south through a bunch of different stops along the way, but it also gets people back and forth to the convention center.
- 10:07Sean McAllister: Yeah, and it really is convenient, even for uh major events that happen uh on the strip.
- 10:14Sean McAllister: A lot of times I'll park over at the convention center, get on the monorail, and then uh take it to one of the stops in the middle of the strip, usually like balleys or something, and uh get off the monorail and make it super easy so that driving in and out, traffic can be obviously, you know, if you've been here, you know that traffic on the Las Vegas strip uh it's a bit of a nightmare sometimes.
- 10:40Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 10:40Sean McAllister: So, you know, for those of us who live here and want to get on and off the strip pretty easily, the monorail really does afford some great options.
- 10:50Dayna Roselli: And it's really cheap.
- 10:52Dayna Roselli: So cheap.
- 10:52Dayna Roselli: I think like a dollar fifty it's for some stops.
- 10:55Dayna Roselli: So yeah, it's a really, really great option.
- 10:58Dayna Roselli: And especially when people come visit, they they enjoy that too.
- 11:01Dayna Roselli: So yeah, the monorail's back and we love it.
- 11:04Dayna Roselli: And speaking of conventions, something I wanted to mention the nightclub and bar show is going to be returning to Las Vegas June 28th to the 30th.
- 11:14Dayna Roselli: So we welcome them back.
- 11:15Dayna Roselli: And Sean and I are actually gonna be on one of the panels.
- 11:18Dayna Roselli: So we're excited to be a part of that.
- 11:20Dayna Roselli: We're still waiting on what day and time slot we're gonna, but uh, we were invited to speak and we hope to answer everyone's burning questions.
- 11:29Sean McAllister: And we're we're gonna be talking uh specifically with some smaller uh bar and nightclub owners from across the country and around the world, and offering some insights on how they can effectively market their their business without having to go through the big expense of hiring PR companies and big marketing companies.
- 11:53Sean McAllister: And you know, we have that's what Dana and I do on a day-to-day basis is help small businesses out and help them create content to get the word out about what they do.
- 12:04Sean McAllister: So we're going to uh be imparting some of our knowledge.
- 12:10Dayna Roselli: That's right.
- 12:11Dayna Roselli: We'll see how we do, right?
- 12:12Dayna Roselli: But I I think we're gonna get a lot of good questions.
- 12:14Dayna Roselli: And I think sometimes when you and I talk about these types of things, even having our journalism background and the ones who receive press releases to newsrooms and go, is this worth coverage?
- 12:24Dayna Roselli: Even that background, it's all gonna be helpful.
- 12:26Dayna Roselli: But you and I talk about things like this all the time, and it seems so normal, but to other people, it they find it really interesting of how they can get, you know, free and essentially we all want ways to have free coverage, right?
- 12:39Dayna Roselli: Absolutely.
- 12:40Dayna Roselli: So so yeah, we look forward to to definitely uh doing that one.
- 12:43Dayna Roselli: Something else we wanted to chat about was the US and UK travel restrictions.
- 12:50Sean McAllister: Oh man.
- 12:51Dayna Roselli: A bunch of articles this week came out, one of them in Forbes.
- 12:55Dayna Roselli: It says the US has no plans to change the travel policy at the moment, because there was a lot of talk about the UK and US lifting some of these restrictions kind of like mid-May.
- 13:09Dayna Roselli: That never happened, and now we aren't really sure if it's gonna happen in June, but there's more talk of it being pushed toward mid-July, so it's a ways off yet.
- 13:20Sean McAllister: It is, and I think the uh visitor numbers that we're getting from McCarran Airport, that's our international airport here in Las Vegas, uh, they are very indicative of the state of affairs with uh foreign travel just in the month of April, it is down ninety percent compared to April of 2019.
- 13:43Sean McAllister: So April 2019, we were still that was pre-pandemic, and uh we had uh 90% fewer travelers coming in just this past April, just a month ago.
- 13:57Sean McAllister: So, you know, that shows how how slow uh international travel has been to uh pick back up, and of course, across Europe and into Asia, uh there's uh been such a slow rollout of uh the vaccine.
- 14:15Sean McAllister: And so people are just having such trouble getting vaccinated, and there's new waves of sickness that are happening.
- 14:22Sean McAllister: So really hoping that that gets uh under control for all of our friends overseas uh to obviously, first of all, stay healthy, but you know, as a result of that to be able to travel again.
- 14:34Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 14:35Dayna Roselli: And and it listen, I think, you know, putting a lot of thought into whether to lift this makes sense.
- 14:41Dayna Roselli: I mean, you know, if if a lot of people from other countries are coming here, they're not vaccinated, we don't want to go loosey goosey again, basically, you know.
- 14:52Dayna Roselli: So, and then vice versa for the you know, us, the people from the United States going to England.
- 14:57Dayna Roselli: Maybe they want to visit London or things like that.
- 14:59Dayna Roselli: So, I mean, we need to be careful, and I know they're looking over, I guess the you know, the pressure's on for timelines, is what the article says, is they're asking, you know, uh the United States, the EU, the UK, everyone to kind of give a timeline so that people can plan.
- 15:12Dayna Roselli: Because we all like a plan.
- 15:14Sean McAllister: Well, and I mean it but that's the tough thing.
- 15:17Sean McAllister: Yeah, is that when there's a a situation like we're in now, you can't really put a timeline on a pandemic.
- 15:24Sean McAllister: Right.
- 15:25Sean McAllister: That kind of runs its course.
- 15:27Sean McAllister: And obviously there's you know, medical intervention to try and you know, squash it and make the pandemic be over with as quickly as possible.
- 15:36Sean McAllister: But you know, when there are hiccups in the vaccine rollout and when doses aren't available, and you know, that that muddies up the waters and makes it really hard to put a definitive timeline on when things like travel can open up again.
- 15:53Sean McAllister: We can just cross our fingers and hope that it's sooner than later.
- 15:57Dayna Roselli: I know, and it's so true.
- 15:58Dayna Roselli: And you know, most people recently who have gone to the airport say, Man, it's packed.
- 16:02Dayna Roselli: And so if those numbers confuse you, our terminal three is where a lot of our international tra oh, all of our international travel pretty much happens.
- 16:10Dayna Roselli: So that's a separate terminal.
- 16:12Dayna Roselli: So when people are going to terminal one, it's a lot of the domestic travel.
- 16:15Dayna Roselli: So yeah, terminal one is busy, but I have a feeling terminal three, you could hear pin drop.
- 16:21Sean McAllister: Oh, absolutely, and that's a big terminal too.
- 16:24Sean McAllister: But speaking of domestic travel, you know, in that same time period, April of uh this this year, April 2021, Las Vegas uh the airport saw 2.9 million visitors coming through.
- 16:41Sean McAllister: And that's a good rebound number.
- 16:44Sean McAllister: The number in uh April of 2019 was 4.2 million visitors, so we are still down about you know 30 percent from where we were pre-pandemic, but having nearly three million visitors coming back just in April, that's a good sign.
- 17:04Sean McAllister: And I know that Memorial Day weekend is gonna pump the numbers up for May and the beginning of June, also, right?
- 17:10Dayna Roselli: So and and this is without international travel, so pretty good.
- 17:14Sean McAllister: Yeah, it's essentially taking international travel out of the mix.
- 17:18Sean McAllister: But uh Southwest Airlines seems to be the uh carrier that's bringing in the most people.
- 17:24Sean McAllister: In April, they had over a million visitors that were just traveling on Southwest, and the other carriers were around the 300,000 mark.
- 17:34Dayna Roselli: Well, and and you know, Southwest is one of our, I think it is our biggest carrier within the United States at McCarron.
- 17:41Dayna Roselli: When are we changing the name of McCarran, by the way?
- 17:43Dayna Roselli: Are we still calling it McCarron?
- 17:44Dayna Roselli: Because it's changed into the isn't it changing to the Harry Reid airport or something?
- 17:47Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 17:48Dayna Roselli: We'll get into that another time.
- 17:49Dayna Roselli: All right, I wasn't sure.
- 17:50Dayna Roselli: I went there the other day and I saw the signage still McCarran and I thought, when was the switch?
- 17:54Dayna Roselli: Because I thought there was a vote on that.
- 17:56Dayna Roselli: I'm I'm happy to just call it what I know it as.
- 18:00Sean McAllister: The Las Vegas International Airport.
- 18:02Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that.
- 18:03Sean McAllister: Well, the these new figures that we just uh had arrive in our uh inbox still say McCarran.
- 18:09Sean McAllister: So we're still going with McCarran.
- 18:13Dayna Roselli: Um, something we like to talk about, as you can tell in this podcast, um, especially this one, is the firsts, because we have a lot of firsts, first big holiday weekend, and something that happened just recently was the first big event in downtown Las Vegas.
- 18:28Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 18:29Dayna Roselli: This was incredible.
- 18:30Dayna Roselli: 10,000 people packed the Las Vegas Events Center for the Dead Mouse concert.
- 18:38Sean McAllister: Yeah, this was a huge event, and it it seems like it almost kind of popped up out of nowhere.
- 18:44Sean McAllister: I feel like there was a really quick turnaround from the time that this concert was announced to the time that it happened just this past week.
- 18:52Sean McAllister: But it was wild seeing the downtown Las Vegas event center absolutely packed shoulder to shoulder with 10,000 fans of EDM music.
- 19:04Sean McAllister: And it it seemed to have gone off without a hitch.
- 19:07Sean McAllister: I know that there were long lines getting in because they were uh checking for vaccination cards and all that type of thing.
- 19:15Sean McAllister: So it I saw people posting on social media that it was a slow process to get people in, but once they were in there, it seemed like everything went smooth and people had a great time.
- 19:26Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 19:26Dayna Roselli: I mean, and I'm looking at some of the videos and I'm going, wow, I mean, they were close.
- 19:31Dayna Roselli: I didn't know if we'd ever see something like this again.
- 19:34Sean McAllister: I know, and it's a promising sign to see that an event of that scale could be pulled off in such a successful way.
- 19:42Sean McAllister: And kudos to Derek Stevens, who runs the D, the Golden Gate, Circa Las Vegas, and the downtown Las Vegas Event Center for putting this together.
- 19:51Dayna Roselli: Yeah, he always finds ways to he likes to be first.
- 19:54Sean McAllister: He does.
- 19:55Dayna Roselli: First is like his middle name.
- 19:57Dayna Roselli: Derek First Stevens.
- 19:59Dayna Roselli: He likes to be the first uh when it comes to trying things out, and always finds a way to pull it off.
- 20:06Dayna Roselli: And it seemed like everyone had a good time, didn't hear about any really negative things happening.
- 20:10Dayna Roselli: So we love that.
- 20:12Dayna Roselli: We love it, you know.
- 20:12Dayna Roselli: Let's have more of that.
- 20:14Sean McAllister: And and sticking uh in downtown Las Vegas, uh, the Fremont Street Experience has announced that it is, you know, bringing back the live concerts, live entertainment down on Fremont Street, which is super exciting, especially for all of our local entertainers.
- 20:31Sean McAllister: And I know that we talk a lot about the local entertainers, but they really are the backbone of the entertainment uh scene here in our city.
- 20:41Sean McAllister: We have these big headliners that are, you know, national and international superstars, but uh the entertainers who live here in Las Vegas who that's their day-to-day job is to entertain.
- 20:54Sean McAllister: You know, Fremont Street is opening up venues and making it possible for them to get back on the stage and do what they do.
- 21:02Dayna Roselli: And we mentioned at the top of the show that some shows are moving out.
- 21:06Dayna Roselli: We mentioned it last week that some of the smaller shows that have been part of the Caesars Entertainment family for a long time, are not going to be, you know, doing shows anymore because they're closing those smaller showrooms for now.
- 21:21Dayna Roselli: So we mentioned Anthony Cools was moving out.
- 21:24Dayna Roselli: We saw some Instagram posts there.
- 21:25Dayna Roselli: His show, the uncensored hypnotist show at Paris ended.
- 21:31Dayna Roselli: He's looking for hopefully a new home so that he can continue.
- 21:34Dayna Roselli: We don't know if that will happen or or what his plans are.
- 21:37Dayna Roselli: But just this week I saw the Bronx Wanderers moving out of Harris, too, and they were showing like their elevator that, you know, they said, I don't know when we'll see our name, you know, our faces on an elevator again anytime soon.
- 21:47Dayna Roselli: But, you know, they were moving all the equipment out, and so it's sad to see a lot of these shows move out.
- 21:54Sean McAllister: It is.
- 21:54Dayna Roselli: And there's been a lot of conversation on Twitter, people going back and forth, you know, especially the people that that live here and work here saying, you know, these guys kind of feel like they're getting just like, you know, pushed out the back door.
- 22:07Dayna Roselli: And you know, I know there's a business plan and there's a model, but I think we're what's gonna happen is we are going to miss these smaller shows, and they will be back.
- 22:17Sean McAllister: Well, and I think it's part of the wave that we've seen in Las Vegas, you know, over the decades.
- 22:23Sean McAllister: We've seen waves where there is an emphasis on these type of shows, and then back to the celebrity shows.
- 22:30Sean McAllister: Uh it I think it'll all even out eventually, but right now the emphasis seems to be on the bigger headliner names.
- 22:39Dayna Roselli: All right, well, that brings us right to our tips because uh two podcasts ago we interviewed Debbie Gibson, and that podcast is flying off the charts.
- 22:47Dayna Roselli: So I wanted to mention that I got an email from Venetian about some of their suite deals and their hotel room deals, and I noticed on the announcement for Debbie Gibson and Joey McIntyre's show at the Venetian that it said more dates coming soon.
- 23:02Dayna Roselli: So heads up, everyone, that more dates, it seems like will be announced for that show that is selling really well.
- 23:08Sean McAllister: I can't wait to see them together on stage.
- 23:11Dayna Roselli: And side note, Debbie Gibson is in the latest episode of Lucifer on Netflix.
- 23:15Dayna Roselli: It's now live, so check her out in that show as well.
- 23:19Dayna Roselli: She does kind of like a musical episode there.
- 23:22Dayna Roselli: Uh, something else I wanted to mention is keep an eye out for my deluxe version article on the nightlife and daylife at Resorts World.
- 23:31Dayna Roselli: I interviewed the vice president of Lifestyle Marketing for Resorts World.
- 23:35Dayna Roselli: He gives me the whole rundown of incredible DJs that they have lined up for the summer and the fall.
- 23:42Sean McAllister: All right.
- 23:43Sean McAllister: And uh my tip of the week is about the Hard Rock Cafe on the strip.
- 23:48Sean McAllister: It sits right there across the street from New York, New York.
- 23:51Sean McAllister: They're about to celebrate their 50th anniversary of Hard Rock Cafes all around the world.
- 23:57Sean McAllister: Dana and I are going to be part of the celebration here in Las Vegas that is coming up in the middle of June, and we'll have more details on the date, time, all that for you coming up next week here on the podcast.
- 24:09Dayna Roselli: Can't wait to host that.
- 24:10Dayna Roselli: It should be great.
- 24:11Dayna Roselli: All right, everyone, we are out.
- 24:13Dayna Roselli: I've got to go catch up on the Friends Reunion.
- 24:15Dayna Roselli: Everyone's watched it besides me.
- 24:17Sean McAllister: It's so good.
- 24:19Sean McAllister: Get the tissues ready.
- 24:20Dayna Roselli: The tissues are ready.
- 24:21Dayna Roselli: Have a great week, everyone.
- 24:23Sean McAllister: Bye.
- 24:24Dayna Roselli: Let's go.
