- 0:09Speaker 1: You're listening to the voice, Come on dig me now,
- 0:13Speaker 1: one and only Steve Harvey got a radio show. Well,
- 0:17Speaker 1: nothing changes about that. Nothing changes about that.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Man. I was just getting ready to come on the
- 0:25Speaker 2: air this morning.
- 0:28Speaker 1: I was just thinking, Man, I was just having a
- 0:31Speaker 1: reflective moment of just how really good God has been
- 0:35Speaker 1: to me. I just it's it's it's man, Let me
- 0:41Speaker 1: just say that again, how really good God has been
- 0:45Speaker 1: to me.
- 0:47Speaker 2: And here's a cold part.
- 0:48Speaker 1: In spite of myself, you understand, in spite of all
- 0:52Speaker 1: my shortcomings, in spite of all of my flaws, and
- 0:58Speaker 1: and and and and in spite of all of what
- 1:01Speaker 1: anybody has said about me, God, through his grace and mercy,
- 1:06Speaker 1: just keeps me anyway. So many of us are exceptional people,
- 1:14Speaker 1: but we refuse to just go ahead and be exceptional.
- 1:20Speaker 1: We settle for the ordinary. We follow the pack. We
- 1:27Speaker 1: try to fit in. Man, oh man, oh man. You
- 1:31Speaker 1: know I've heard my wife say this to my children
- 1:34Speaker 1: all the time when she's scolding him or talking to him.
- 1:36Speaker 2: She'd be talking to him about leadership.
- 1:39Speaker 1: You know, why are you following everybody when God clearly
- 1:41Speaker 1: made you to lead. So many of us are born,
- 1:45Speaker 1: and so many of you are born to be exceptional people,
- 1:48Speaker 1: But we always trying to follow the pack. Why would
- 1:53Speaker 1: you try to fit in? Why would you try to
- 1:56Speaker 1: be like everybody else be ordinary? Why would you follow
- 2:03Speaker 1: the pack? When God has created you to be exceptional?
- 2:07Speaker 1: The key word in exceptional is except you. Ever you
- 2:12Speaker 1: ever dine this right here? You know everybody did that,
- 2:14Speaker 1: accept me. Everybody felt that way except me. Everybody said
- 2:22Speaker 1: that except me. Everybody won't wanted that. Accept me. Everybody
- 2:28Speaker 1: went over there except me. Everybody jumped in except me.
- 2:34Speaker 2: Accept me. See why have you said that in your life?
- 2:39Speaker 2: If you were not to be exceptional?
- 2:42Speaker 1: See you got to say everybody except me at one
- 2:45Speaker 1: point in YO to I don't know who ain't done it?
- 2:48Speaker 1: You know everybody wanted everybody voted no except me. See,
- 2:53Speaker 1: so you're not You're not created to follow the pack.
- 2:57Speaker 1: You ain't created to fit in. You ain't create it
- 3:00Speaker 1: to you know, to be ordinary. You will created to
- 3:04Speaker 1: be exceptional, as exceptional as your fingerprint on your finger is.
- 3:09Speaker 1: You wire created to be exceptional. Why not make this
- 3:13Speaker 1: the year that you go head on and be exceptional?
- 3:17Speaker 1: Why won't this be the year that you decide in
- 3:21Speaker 1: your mind? But just has to be a decision that
- 3:23Speaker 1: we make. Now, were not following the pack no more.
- 3:26Speaker 1: We not trying to fit in no more. We ain't
- 3:29Speaker 1: settling for ordinary no more. We're gonna be exceptional. But
- 3:34Speaker 1: you know you got to go ahead and follow that.
- 3:36Speaker 1: You got to get on the exceptional path, because that's
- 3:39Speaker 1: what you were created for. Why be ordinary?
- 3:42Speaker 2: You know?
- 3:42Speaker 1: But all of this this comes it has to start
- 3:45Speaker 1: with a thought. You got to first think something. Thoughts
- 3:51Speaker 1: become things. A man is as he thinketh That's all
- 3:55Speaker 1: you will ever be. So what are your thoughts today?
- 3:59Speaker 1: Why not have it exceptional thoughts instead of ordinary thoughts?
- 4:03Speaker 1: Why not have exceptional thoughts instead of fitting me in thoughts?
- 4:06Speaker 1: So why you want to be like everybody else? Why
- 4:09Speaker 1: you want to be ordinary? When you could possibly be
- 4:12Speaker 1: extraordinary with a change of your mind, a change of
- 4:16Speaker 1: your venue, And you don't.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Have to be any other kind of way?
- 4:20Speaker 1: Just because my mama was this, well, my daddy was
- 4:23Speaker 1: this way, or this the school I went to?
- 4:25Speaker 2: This, what race I belong to? This is my sexual preference,
- 4:29Speaker 2: this is my this, this is my dad? How many?
- 4:31Speaker 2: How many How many excuses you need? I mean, how
- 4:34Speaker 2: many excuse? What? What? What? What?
- 4:36Speaker 1: What's it gonna be this year that we let another
- 4:39Speaker 1: three hundred and sixty five days slip by without improving
- 4:43Speaker 1: our condition, our place, our spot, our life, the quality
- 4:49Speaker 1: of life we have. We cannot afford to keep letting
- 4:53Speaker 1: all these years go by without changing.
- 4:58Speaker 2: You're an exceptional per How many times have you set
- 5:02Speaker 2: up and said, everybody did that? Accept me? You know?
- 5:06Speaker 1: I was only everybody jumped in except me. I told him,
- 5:11Speaker 1: I knew it. Everybody voted for that.
- 5:13Speaker 2: Accept me?
- 5:14Speaker 1: And now look at it, man, it seemed like everybody
- 5:18Speaker 1: went that way except me. Okay, do you get it?
- 5:24Speaker 1: Do you understand what's being said to you that all
- 5:28Speaker 1: accept me is? Because couldn't it be? Because you're an
- 5:31Speaker 1: exceptional person? And it's time for you to take control
- 5:35Speaker 1: of that. It's time for you to start thinking different.
- 5:38Speaker 1: It's time for you to start acting on what you think.
- 5:40Speaker 1: It's time for you to start doing something about it.
- 5:43Speaker 1: It's time for you to stop taking each and every
- 5:45Speaker 1: day that God gives us for granted and letting them
- 5:48Speaker 1: go by the wayside like you got plenty more. Well,
- 5:52Speaker 1: you may have plenty more. But guess what what you
- 5:54Speaker 1: wasting the ones you got for? I got you young,
- 5:58Speaker 1: and you feel like you gonna live forever? Eh okay, cool,
- 6:02Speaker 1: But let me ask you something. See here go the
- 6:05Speaker 1: part about it. I suppose you do live. See see
- 6:08Speaker 1: everybody worrying about dying. But I got news for you.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Suppose you keep on living. You want to keep living
- 6:14Speaker 1: in the condition you in now. You want to keep
- 6:16Speaker 1: living with the money you got now. You want to
- 6:18Speaker 1: keep living with the relationship you got now. You want
- 6:21Speaker 1: to keep living by yourself like you are now. You
- 6:24Speaker 1: want to keep wanting the right relationship, the right man
- 6:27Speaker 1: to the right woman, but you keep getting the wrong one.
- 6:29Speaker 1: You wanna keep doing that for the rest of your life.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Problem ain't dying. There's problem is if.
- 6:33Speaker 2: You keep on living.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Who wants to keep on living just the way they
- 6:37Speaker 1: are right now? And if you could say, I'm cool,
- 6:40Speaker 1: what I am? Just the way I am right now?
- 6:42Speaker 1: In cool, this conversation ain't for you. Ain't got no
- 6:45Speaker 1: problem with that. You know you know what I say.
- 6:48Speaker 1: Greatness ain't for everybody being exceptional. Ain't for everybody becoming extraordinary.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Ain't for everybody. Heck, becoming successful ain't for everybody. I
- 6:59Speaker 1: got it. And you can come up with a way
- 7:01Speaker 1: to justify your non existence and your ordinary life all
- 7:05Speaker 1: you want, and that's fine and dandy. I ain't got
- 7:07Speaker 1: no problem with it. Because some people just gonna be regular.
- 7:11Speaker 1: Some people just gonna follow the pack, follow the crowd.
- 7:14Speaker 1: Some people just wants to fit in. But if you're
- 7:18Speaker 1: not that person, if you want to be extraordinary, if
- 7:21Speaker 1: you want to be exceptional, if you want to be
- 7:24Speaker 1: if you want to dare to be great at something,
- 7:26Speaker 1: and you got to change your mindset. You got to
- 7:29Speaker 1: get what your creator and find out what he created
- 7:31Speaker 1: you for. You got to quit thinking of things just
- 7:34Speaker 1: in your own thought process. You know, lean not to
- 7:37Speaker 1: your own understanding. I don't know where that is, but
- 7:39Speaker 1: it's in there somewhere. Seeing once you lean, if you
- 7:43Speaker 1: lean to your own understanding, you know what it's gonna do.
- 7:45Speaker 1: It's gonna limit you, man, It's gonna limit you. Why
- 7:49Speaker 1: not see what God got for you. I would rather
- 7:51Speaker 1: know what God got for me than to think of
- 7:54Speaker 1: all the things I could because I can't out think
- 7:56Speaker 1: him out and tried it before.
- 7:58Speaker 2: All right, it's just the beginning. We don't have a
- 8:00Speaker 2: good one man, let's go. You're listening to the Steve
- 8:03Speaker 2: Harvey Morning Show.
