  Speaker 1: Tell me how you explain this to the bosses, how

  Speaker 1: you didn't move the lines in the right way? What happened?

  Speaker 1: program on this, is that I just said that the

  Speaker 1: public just had it right on every game, and so

  Speaker 1: you can't even say that it was all favorites. It

  Speaker 1: was the big favorites, it was the big point spread favorites,

  Speaker 1: it was the short underdogs, it was virtually every game.

  Speaker 1: I would say that there was two games that weren't

  Speaker 1: big decisions, and we happened to be on the right
• 1:46
  Speaker 1: side of them. Uh. Last week it was the Falcons
• 1:49
  Speaker 1: Redskins was one of the few wins that the book
• 1:52
  Speaker 1: had and uh and probably the Seattle game. Uh that
• 1:58
  Speaker 1: the Seattle Chargers game where we probably would have lost
• 2:02
  Speaker 1: more on Seattle. But outside of that, they just they
• 2:05
  Speaker 1: nailed every game, you know, they had the Steelers turned
• 2:08
  Speaker 1: into a monster game. We're on the wrong side of
• 2:10
  Speaker 1: that one. And then obviously the Chiefs and the Bears
• 2:13
  Speaker 1: and the Panthers, all the big point spreads. After the
• 2:16
  Speaker 1: morning games, we were done going into the late games.

  Speaker 1: There was no out for us. We couldn't win for
• 2:22
  Speaker 1: the day. It was just how bad was the loss
• 2:24
  Speaker 1: going to be? And then of course the Patriots, uh,
• 2:27
  Speaker 1: you know, just kind of stuck the dagger in at night.

  Speaker 1: But you know that and we talked a little bit
• 2:33
  Speaker 1: about it last week. Is when you have a short
• 2:35
  Speaker 1: schedule of six teams on a bye week, there's just
• 2:38
  Speaker 1: there's not a whole lot of kind of room for error.

  Speaker 1: There's three games and if you don't win two out

  Speaker 1: of three, you're not gonna have a winning day. And

  Speaker 1: if you lose all three, you're gonna get crushed, which
• 2:48
  Speaker 1: is kind of what we did. Has it ever been

  Speaker 1: that bad for you. Yeah, this wasn't the worst week
• 2:54
  Speaker 1: I ever had. Um, there's been far, far worse, but

  Speaker 1: this was probably the worst one. In a few years.

  Speaker 1: What was the worst week you ever had? I'll go

  Speaker 1: back to the Stardust years. Just had to be like

  Speaker 1: two thousand three, two thousand four, Um, it was. I

  Speaker 1: just remember. I mean like it was yesterday. We lost

  Speaker 1: every single game. And going into Sunday night, Uh, I

  Speaker 1: want to say, the Bills were playing the Raiders and

  Speaker 1: we needed that, we needed the Bills, and that just
• 3:28
  Speaker 1: doubled our loss. But then the Monday night game, the
• 3:32
  Speaker 1: Monday night game was against was the Falcons against the Jets,
• 3:36
  Speaker 1: and Vinny test of Verity was playing for the Jets
• 3:40
  Speaker 1: and we needed we needed the Jets to to save
• 3:43
  Speaker 1: a few million, and and Vinnie Testaverity through four interceptions
• 3:49
  Speaker 1: in the first half. It was seventeen nothing in the
• 3:51
  Speaker 1: first quarter and we were toasts and the and the
• 3:56
  Speaker 1: worst part about this, and I'm not I couldn't make
• 3:58
  Speaker 1: this up, is we had a corporate talent show and

  Speaker 1: it was on a Monday night and I was literally

  Speaker 1: dressed up in a baseball uniform on the stage at
• 4:10
  Speaker 1: the Stardust Hotel, and we were singing take Me out

  Speaker 1: to the ball game as I just saw the last
• 4:19
  Speaker 1: interception that we were just going to get annihilated. And

  Speaker 1: then I had to go on stage with a bunch
• 4:24
  Speaker 1: of the other directors and sing, oh my god, Uh
• 4:30
  Speaker 1: what did the uniform say? It said BOYD Gaming? And
• 4:36
  Speaker 1: and actually what we did is we did a take
• 4:38
  Speaker 1: on it was take Me out to the BOYD Game.

  Speaker 1: We substituted we sang the song take Me Out to
• 4:44
  Speaker 1: the board Game. Oh my dad, I'm just picturing how

  Speaker 1: dreadful that must have been. You're on stage having just
• 4:55
  Speaker 1: had your ass handed to you and you're up there
• 4:58
  Speaker 1: in a baseball unifor form where you wearing makeup? Did

  Speaker 1: you have like rouge during? It was during I mean

  Speaker 1: we were in the green room, you know, like how

  Speaker 1: before we went on stage. There's a you know, the

  Speaker 1: green room where there's a TV in there, and some

  Speaker 1: of my bosses were actually on on stage with me,

  Speaker 1: so we were in there. We're all in the green
• 5:18
  Speaker 1: room and we're saying, who do we need, like we
• 5:20
  Speaker 1: need the Jets and they're down seventeen nothing and all
• 5:23
  Speaker 1: of us just we're like oh my god, we're gonna
• 5:25
  Speaker 1: get crushed. And then we all went on stage and
• 5:28
  Speaker 1: then by the time we got back to the green room,
• 5:30
  Speaker 1: it was the score was even worse. So what happens
• 5:34
  Speaker 1: this weekend when when you know you're getting crushed early
• 5:39
  Speaker 1: games are over, there's nothing you can do? Do you

  Speaker 1: go home? Do you call jan You're like, I'm coming home.

  Speaker 1: You can stare at me from the courtyard while I'm
• 5:47
  Speaker 1: sitting in the office, you know, longingly, like she likes

  Speaker 1: to do when you're recording the podcast from home, or

  Speaker 1: what do you do? It's bad, It's just she's you know,

  Speaker 1: it's like when somebody just kicks you when you're down,

  Speaker 1: and somebody referred to the look on my face. They

  Speaker 1: said that you look like your your dog just died.

  Speaker 1: Because it's just there's nothing, there's nothing you can do.

  Speaker 1: You just sit and watch the games, and it just

  Speaker 1: keeps getting worse and worse and worse, and just you're

  Speaker 1: you just want to be put out of your misery, Like,

  Speaker 1: just get it over with. We know we're gonna get crushed,
• 6:21
  Speaker 1: just like I wanted to be over and done with,
• 6:24
  Speaker 1: so we can just report the final tally and move
• 6:27
  Speaker 1: on to the next week. I know nobody has any sympathy.

  Speaker 1: I was reading like a lot of the articles and
• 6:37
  Speaker 1: how you know, it's a people say, how come people
• 6:41
  Speaker 1: sympathize with the bookmakers and these casinos? Is one one
• 6:45
  Speaker 1: week and uh and they're crying and they'll get it
• 6:48
  Speaker 1: all back. And so I'm not I'm not trying to
• 6:51
  Speaker 1: make it sound like, uh, you know, we're we're done
• 6:54
  Speaker 1: for the year, or even for the month for that matter.

  Speaker 1: But it's just bookmakers are compared aditive people, and they
• 7:01
  Speaker 1: want to win, just like everybody else wants to win.

  Speaker 1: So it's it's like taking a tough loss. You know.

  Speaker 1: You see these these guys after a big loss and
• 7:09
  Speaker 1: playing in the game. It's kind of like the same
• 7:12
  Speaker 1: way with the bookmakers. You take a big loss and
• 7:14
  Speaker 1: it's kind of you walk around that week with kind
• 7:18
  Speaker 1: of your tail between your legs and your head downs
• 7:21
  Speaker 1: and just you know, ready to come back the next week.

  Speaker 1: You feel like you're less valued. You feel like, um,
• 7:29
  Speaker 1: you're not as good as if people in the casino
• 7:34
  Speaker 1: they are laughing at you because you can't manage your business. Um,

  Speaker 1: I know it's temporary, they know it's not you know
• 7:44
  Speaker 1: it's one week, but you gotta you have to endure

  Speaker 1: that whole week of Hey what happened? Oh my god,

  Speaker 1: what would you guys do? Boy, you made some bad lines.

  Speaker 1: I love that one. You know your lines were bad

  Speaker 1: As sports betting becomes more popular, there's gonna be more

  Speaker 1: and more people who see bookmakers as evil. Well, there's

  Speaker 1: always going to be that adversarial relationship. You know, the

  Speaker 1: guys that are out there betting, they want to beat

  Speaker 1: the bookmaker. It's always been that way, So there's no

  Speaker 1: that's why there's no sympathy for the bookmaker. And you know,

  Speaker 1: when the bookmakers have a good week, that means all
• 8:39
  Speaker 1: the better is lost. So everyone that's out there is like,
• 8:42
  Speaker 1: you know, screw the bookmaker. Uh So, so yeah, there's

  Speaker 1: there's always going to be that relationship. I wouldn't say
• 8:49
  Speaker 1: that they think we're evil, but there's uh, you know,
• 8:52
  Speaker 1: you're going head to head and it's a it's a
• 8:54
  Speaker 1: competition and somebody's gotta win. I'm surprised Mick Jagger and

  Speaker 1: Sympathy for the Devil. I'm guess my scooch is the

  Speaker 1: you think four was high, so so. The Steelers had

  Speaker 1: been kind of getting adjusted as they staggered out of
• 12:47
  Speaker 1: the gate this season. That kind of took them a

  Speaker 1: while to get their sea legs. But they are clicking
• 12:53
  Speaker 1: on all cylinders right now. And they they moved the
• 12:58
  Speaker 1: ball at will against the best defense in the NFL
• 13:01
  Speaker 1: last week. The Panthers are nowhere close to the best
• 13:05
  Speaker 1: defense in the NFL. So, uh, the Steelers are gonna
• 13:09
  Speaker 1: have an easy time moving the ball against the Panthers.

  Speaker 1: So we we hung it five and a half. We
• 13:15
  Speaker 1: uh took some bets right out of gate, went to
• 13:17
  Speaker 1: four and a half, took some more plus four and

  Speaker 1: a half. Where at four right now, where it looks

  Speaker 1: like the money is kind of stabilizing. I think, UH

  Speaker 1: to win the Super Bowl, and the Steelers were UH.

  Speaker 1: In a draft, and the Steelers were one of the

  Speaker 1: teams I chose. I UH at one point had the

  Speaker 1: chance to pick the Chiefs, and I was debating between

  Speaker 1: the Chiefs, the Giants, and somebody else, and I decided

  Speaker 1: I was gonna Someone behind me was willing to trade
• 14:39
  Speaker 1: me two picks for one, and so I moved down
• 14:42
  Speaker 1: one got the two picks. The team I passed on
• 14:45
  Speaker 1: was the Chiefs, but thank god I picked up the Giants,
• 14:48
  Speaker 1: and I think the Broncos. Wow, so that that didn't

  Speaker 1: really work out for me. But I do have the

  Speaker 1: Steelers also. Also, as I've said a thousand times, I

  Speaker 1: still have the Saints at eighteen to one that I

  Speaker 1: bought at the beginning of the year. You have the

  Speaker 1: Saints and who else I have the I have the Saints,

  Speaker 1: I have the Texans both at eighteen and twenty respectively,

  Speaker 1: and then I have the Steelers in this pool. And I,

  Speaker 1: like everyone else, I have his dogs. They petered out, Yeah,

  Speaker 1: so we know that they'll see a little bit of

  Speaker 1: value on that. But again, you're just hoping that you're

  Speaker 1: some of them probably weren't his fault. But even even
