- 0:33Time to leave your worries outside and join us here in the tree House.
- 0:37I'm Daniel Mallley, along with tre Trenholm and Roj Sharma. Welcome to Friday
- 0:45number one, Friday number one of the Treehouse Podcast. We have many important
- 0:54news stories to get to today. But in true show fashion, and as
- 1:00we have established over nearly three decades of radio prominence, only to be cut
- 1:04short in our prime due to death and prison and money and whatever else,
- 1:14we're just making room for old farts. Before we get to the important news
- 1:19of the day, we must first do what trade birthdays. That's right,
- 1:25birthdays are the things that should lead all newscasts. I don't care what Peter
- 1:32Jennings, I don't care what Dan Rather, I don't care what Brian I
- 1:41was there Williams did in his prime. Had they all started with birthdays,
- 1:47they would all probably still be on the air today. Death, I mean
- 1:51my minus the line about the rap war thing, minus that part people I'm
- 2:00gonna go Honestly, had he had he started every newscast with birthdays, Brian
- 2:02Williams might still be on the air because they might have forgiven him his fabrication
- 2:07snaphos. Everyone who had been so entramped. You know, they're like,
- 2:13all right, what's he gonna do? And today birthdays? I forget about
- 2:19that whole pleasures lying thing. Who cares? Who cares if he's making stuff
- 2:23of it's birthdays. He wasn't in the rap War, but Pink thirty,
- 2:29that's why we do with him here. So for those keeping track, today
- 2:36is Friday, September first, two thousand, twenty three. Birthdays today,
- 2:44so exciting. Help me with this, gentleman. Is it Zendaya or Zendaia.
- 2:49I've heard Zendia, I've heard it both ways. I'm not sure I'm
- 2:55gonna go with Zindiet as well. Trade you know who zin Diet is?
- 3:00Spider Man? Oh you do? Congratulations? Yes, yes she is.
- 3:06She is a good job old man. Zendeia slash Zendia. She is twenty
- 3:13seven today, probably now best known as Spider Man's girlfriend Michelle Jones in sy
- 3:20in the newer Spider Man films, but she also has a very prominent role
- 3:24in the new Dune movies. The first one has already come out, the
- 3:28next one just actually got delayed because of the sag and writer's strike happening in
- 3:35Hollywood. But she also was really well known for her role on HBO's Euphoria,
- 3:39which makes Sorry Trade, which makes old people feel really uncomfortable because it's
- 3:44teenage. It's a show about teenagers talking about drugs and sex and things.
- 3:47She's also dating Tom Holland. I just saw where Tom Holland. I guess
- 3:51he had a problem with alcohol or drugs because they said he was like sixteen
- 3:54months ober. Oh wow, Okay, you know what trade. Just because
- 3:58someone announces that they're sober doesn't mean they had a problem beforehand. Maybe they
- 4:01just walk up one day. I was like, damn good. Yeah,
- 4:05you know, if you if you just wake up one day and go,
- 4:08yeah, I'm good, you didn't really have a problem. And I say
- 4:15that with authority. But it's like Daniel Radcliffe, Like Daniel Radcliffe went sober
- 4:23at like sixteen, Like he was talking about how he was drinking on the
- 4:27set of Harry Potter. Uh. Yeah, I don't think I ever knew
- 4:30that. I mean, I've heard of young Hollywood stars having to go into
- 4:34rehab before they were even of legal drinking or even smoking or voting age.
- 4:41Yeah. I remember like hearing stories about Drew Barrymore being offered drugs when she
- 4:46was like ten or something. Yeah, I mean she was drinking. She
- 4:49was drinking like top shelf Tom Collins at eight like she was. She was
- 4:55she was living up to that Barrymore status. Like she can't quite see above
- 4:58the bar, but she can pound your fist on it and say a bottle
- 5:00of the good stuff. Yeah, she was doing blow it like nine.
- 5:05I mean yeah. But I yet her and the two I guess her and
- 5:12one of the Corries. I remember your stories. I think both of them
- 5:16were both one of them. I remember, well, how one him's dead,
- 5:20aren't they? Yeah, Cory him died, Yeah, I mean they
- 5:24were in rehab young Yeah, yeah, but he You know that. That's
- 5:29the really sad part is everybody chocked up Corey Haim's death two drugs and it
- 5:33was not He had a really severe bout of the flu and I think they
- 5:39got I think it was just medication for the flu. He didn't get it
- 5:43in time, and he just kind of succumbed to that. But wasn't It
- 5:46wasn't a drug overdose. Yeah. But but but in true Hollywood fashion,
- 5:50nothing's going to get in the way of a good story. Yeah, exactly.
- 5:54So well and and the and the truth of the matter is when you're
- 5:58you've been using, whether it's drugs or alcohol for a long time, your
- 6:01systems beat down and so you are susceptible to something like the flu killing you.
- 6:06Yeah. Yeah, which is another reason why Trey had to quit drinking,
- 6:09because otherwise the next sneeze was going to kill it. Oh, I
- 6:15don't say that. I don't say this for dramatic effect or anything. I
- 6:18would not be living today if I had not quit. Really, yeah,
- 6:24I was. I was throwing up blood. Okay, that's yeah, Trey
- 6:30was throwing up blood. And that wasn't just because we were doing morning radio,
- 6:34although that didn't help. No other birthdays today now former host and judge
- 6:44of Top Chef Patton Lakshmi, she is fifty three today. Was announced pretty
- 6:48recently that she is leaving the show after like twenty years and is being replaced
- 6:54by another another person actually was a former winner of the show on Top Chefs.
- 6:59So now she's going Padma is now going off and into the sunset and
- 7:02pursuing her own opportunities. She's got a new she's already got a new show.
- 7:05She's got a new show where she travels, uh, And I think
- 7:09she's traveling through the throughout the US and is trying different different cuisines or whatever
- 7:15like. So I think there's one where she's in like New Mexico and is
- 7:16trying whatever quisite is there, like the authentic like local stuff. I think
- 7:23that's what she's kind of But was he Like that's the new formula for some
- 7:28of the Hollywood types or the food shows is to take a really attractive food
- 7:31expert and have them do a mash up of a cooking show and Micro's Dirty
- 7:39Jobs. So basically it's going to be Padma eating dirty food and just getting
- 7:43her reactions. That would be awesome. I think they've all like, ever
- 7:47since Anthony Bourdain died, they've all been to everyone's been trying to fill that
- 7:50kind of gap that he He had that special kind of niche of you know,
- 7:55he traveled around and the local flavor and everything else. And I mean,
- 8:00Gordon Ramsey does it, She's gonna do it. Uh God, there's
- 8:05even one of the Yobby does something but even you've said actress, but one
- 8:11of the the Stanley desperate Stanley Tushy but desperate Housewives, Evelongoria is doing one
- 8:20on CNN. Yeah, where she travels through Mexico. It's see and this
- 8:22is and this is where this is. This goes back to where I say,
- 8:26if you're a celebrity, you can do pretty much anything, signed,
- 8:28sealed and deliver, and they'll throw buckets of money at you. Because everything
- 8:31that you guys have just described is something I see a guy that lives under
- 8:35a bridge about a mile from my house does every single day, which is
- 8:39just rummage around, finds some weird stuff to eat and try to hitchhike his
- 8:43way to his next meal. But because he's not having been locked me or
- 8:46he's not Gordon Ramsey or rest in Peace, Anthony Bourdain, he's just it.
- 8:50He's just kind of a troll, just living a troll life. I'm
- 8:54gonna I'm gonna start. I'm just gonna go. I'm just gonna go to
- 8:56India and just just eat. That's that's that's the I don't know what the
- 9:01show is gonna be called Lunch with Raj. I think that's going to be
- 9:07the name of the show. Birthdays today. Uh. Singer Gloria A.
- 9:11Stephan turns sixty six today. Her big hits include cuts both Ways, here
- 9:15we Are and coming out of the Dark. Those are her solo hits back
- 9:18when she was with Miami Sound Machine. Those hits were Conga, Bad Boy
- 9:22and Rhythm is Gonna get You, as it has too many of us many
- 9:24times. The inventor of Tibou Billy Blanks is sixty eight today. Before that,
- 9:30he actually had somewhat of a technically an acting career. I don't know
- 9:35if i'd even say it was B movies. It was more like barely passing
- 9:39movie grade. Yes, but I'll admit I watched way too many martial arts
- 9:43films as a kid, and I've seen one or two with him in it.
- 9:48Jean Claude Van Dan movies. I think he was a soldier or I
- 9:54think at some point everybody was in a Jean Claude movie. I'm pretty sure
- 9:58you were. You were drinking. You probably do realize that what's the other
- 10:03reason? That's the other reason? Trace, But so I lived in when
- 10:09I lived in Sherman Oaks for years and years, there was a Joe's Pizza,
- 10:13which is from New York. They opened Joe's Pizza and I'm like,
- 10:16oh my god, this is gonna be exciting. Went to Joe's Pizza and
- 10:20they're like, it's gonna be about a fifteen minute wait. I was like,
- 10:22all right, so I'll just walk around. And I must have passed
- 10:24this place like three times, just pacing back and forth on my phone or
- 10:26whatever, and I realized it was Billy Blank's type Typo Studio is in Sherman
- 10:31Oaks, and I must have walked back, like there's nobody there. I
- 10:35don't know. I don't I've never seen it open. I just know it's
- 10:37there. Uh and it's full as long as that least. My god,
- 10:41I don't know, but it's I mean, you can look and you can
- 10:43see through the window. It's like fully done up, like there's everything is
- 10:46still in there. So I'm sure there's still classes. I just I was
- 10:50like, it's just him in there, kicking against a mirror. Yeah,
- 10:54that's what I would saying, Like how the mighty have fallen? Like your
- 10:56next Like you were that guy who was on informercials and TV and like everybody
- 11:01you were on like at some point maybe like the revamp of the Love Boat
- 11:03or whatever, it was like you were on those shows and now you're next
- 11:07to it Joe's Pizza that's if that's not Hollywood for you, I don't know
- 11:11what it is. He didn't. Also, it's also radio doctor Phil turns
- 11:18seventy three today. Also Barry GiB the last BG he is seventies seven today.
- 11:28Trey. I know that in recent episodes you have pronounced your affection for
- 11:31Abba. I wonder do you hold a similar affection for the Bigs or is
- 11:37that mainly just for the Swedish rockers? No, I am a big fan
- 11:41of the brothers Gibbs. Let's let's not call abbas Swedish rock Let's just be
- 11:48Swedish Royalty. Okay, okay, let's not call them that either. I
- 11:58think rock Set takes that or or Europe takes that before they do. Abba
- 12:03was far bigger? Were they here? Where is this Abba? Tired?
- 12:11Abba helped to inspire the entire film that Will Ferrell did recently Eurovision. Right
- 12:18If not for Abba, that film doesn't have their inciting type incident? Yeah,
- 12:24okay, okay, I have to have to because the movie. I
- 12:28don't know. Okay, I don't know. I just want to know what.
- 12:30Can we just get to the I know we have to get to birthdays,
- 12:33but just look, can we get to the crux of this, what
- 12:35what affect did Abba have on you? Trade? Was it like? Was
- 12:39that? Was that? Was that what you would listen to after a to
- 12:43comfort you after a strong meeting with belt Abba? It was just there,
- 12:50pop hits is what? And you go back. They just have a ton
- 12:54of hits and they're all catchy, and I mean they inspired a musical,
- 12:58a movie I did. They're holograms sold more tickets than most people. And
- 13:05you know what, to be fair, the fact that I also makes Trey
- 13:09feel pretty. I was wondering what it was. I'm like, were you
- 13:16just sitting in Leonard during the summer, just staring out the window. You
- 13:20had your roller skates on, but you know you couldn't book it the room.
- 13:24Yeah, roller skates and a try belting out dancing queen. Yeah,
- 13:28you're not going to wear that to the main street in Leonard, Texas,
- 13:33at least not without your dad bringing belt along. The weather out your visit

- 14:11So we've got several clients right now doing cash outs to buy land in
- 14:15other states. One clients doing a three hundred thousand our cash out. They
- 14:18own their home free and clear. The cash out rate is a lot cheaper
- 14:22than a land loan rate. We have another client that's doing a cash out
- 14:26to fund their business. Another's four hundred thousand dollars. The bank turned them
- 14:31down for a business loan and they said, no, we can't do it
- 14:35because many of the banks are tightening up. So they're doing a cash out
- 14:37refinance for a small business loan. Lots of different reasons. Many people are
- 14:41buying second home, vacation homes, investment properties, so many different reasons why
- 14:46people are doing turning to us for cash out refus Best of all, when
- 14:50we're doing a cash out refinance, we're closing our cash house right now in
- 14:52fifteen days. I can't close for twelve days by state at Texas law,
- 14:56but fifteen days Dan, and we're doing it every single day, and that's
- 15:00why our clients keep coming back to us. Yeah, for over forty years

- 16:19and birth days on a Friday. I hope that feels as good as I
- 16:29hope that feels as good to you as it does to me. Actually,
- 16:30you know what really felt good is the fact that just like old times and
- 16:33when we started off birthdays and we couldn't even get through birthdays. Yeah,
- 16:38we didn't even get to the fact that Lily Tomlin today is her birthday.
- 16:42And also we occasionally like to mention the posthumous birthdays. Conway Twitty today would
- 16:51have been his birthday, but he passed away many many years ago, and
- 16:55I didn't realize this until earlier when I was looking up celebrity earth days for
- 17:00today, I didn't realize he and Loretta Lynn had a duet together with a
- 17:07song titled You're the Reason Our Kids Are Ugly. And it's songs like that
- 17:18that I now fully understand when country fans say country music, when country fans
- 17:25say modern countries crap, because I don't hear songs today of you're the reason
- 17:30our kids are ugly, Carrie Underwood's not singing about that. Yes, uh,
- 17:37and you gotta give credit to uh Family Guy for the relevance of uh
- 17:45Conway Twitty in this dayment. It's just just those just those cutaways are my
- 17:49favorite of my ladies and gentlemen, Conway Twitty, Hello Darlin, And for
- 17:56me, it bridged the gap between the things that I enjoyed watching Family Guy
- 18:02and my grandma because my grandma, who passed away when I was seven,
- 18:06was a massive Conway Twitty fan, and to this day, my favorite version
- 18:14of the song the Rose is the Conway Twitty version because it was my grandma's
- 18:19favorite. Oh okay, interesting yeah, and he is the author and singer
- 18:26of one one of two songs that will make me cry every time I hear
- 18:30it, which are for him. It's called That's My Job. Oh yeah,
- 18:36yeah, that's actually the song Trey. I'm not sure if Trey,
- 18:38if Trey and Ross, since you guys were both at my wedding when Tara
- 18:41and I got married, do you remember that's the song that Tara and her
- 18:47dad did their dance too. Yes, yes, Tray, Does that mean
- 18:51you were crying at my wedding. I think I was drunk, so so
- 18:56you had been crying for different reasons. Yeah, you know you also have
- 19:02to, you know, give credit to twenty first songs like I'd love to
- 19:06lay you down. That's I mean, when you want to talk about heartfelt,
- 19:11that's just title. I'd love to have you hang on before before you
- 19:21completely just just just pooh poo all over this rock. You tried using that
- 19:26as some sort of a line with a lady like, Hey, you know,
- 19:32I just sounds I'm about to murder you. Also sounds a lot more
- 19:37poetic than the modern day version of being dicked down if you were to say
- 19:49both, if you were if you were to go up to a woman in
- 19:52a bar and say both of those lines, which one do you think is
- 19:56going to get you further? I think in this day and age, dick
- 20:00down will work really Okay, they have to go try it now. I
- 20:04will definitely try because I don't think you can walk up to anybody anywhere,
- 20:10like there's if I'd have walked up to a girl at a barn just what
- 20:12I'd like to lay you down, there's gonna be a taser or pepper spray
- 20:18involved, and you know, okay, But if you did the same thing
- 20:22but change the verbiage and say I really want to dick you down, that's
- 20:25very possible. The same outcome could happen, but worse it also, But
- 20:30it also depends like with the with that with the ladder, it depends on
- 20:33the on the bar end or a club the former. I want to lay
- 20:38it down, it's kind of universal, like you're getting you're they're gonna test
- 20:41out their martial arts on you, Like every self defense class that they've gone
- 20:47to, they're gonna test it out on you. For just that line.
- 20:49I also kind of feel like that would be a good line to test out
- 20:52in the middle of an MMA match, and so before you hit the match,
- 20:56you just lean into each other. When you actually clasp on and you
- 21:02just whisper into the dudes, here, I'm gonna let you down. That
- 21:07sounds like something Connor McGregor would say. It'd just be a lot more difficult
- 21:12to understand lasers. For those that have not been following the news, Hurricane
- 21:22I've Dalia terrorizing the southeastern United States for the last couple of days, and
- 21:33I fall in Florida and then carrying over the base of the Florida Pine into
- 21:40into the Caroline Is a little bit, and it just sounds Idealia. Just
- 21:45sounds like you know, your southern grandma that you know you're gonna go down
- 21:49to idealia Is and get some lemonade. So like a nasty hurricane. I'm
- 21:55actually with you there. When I first heard the name hurricane, I think
- 21:57it was tropical storm I Dallia, I immediately thought it sounds like somebody's grandma,
- 22:03and I thought, wow, then hurricane naming people are really going deep
- 22:07into the name book on that one, because that's an old name. I
- 22:11Dallia. No, that just sounds like a girl in a that's that sounds
- 22:15like the girl in like a club in Miami that you meet who ends up
- 22:19who ends up like actually liking the line I won't lay down that. I
- 22:27think you're right. A woman named I Dallia is going to respond very well
- 22:33to being told I want to lay you down because she was probably at the
- 22:36very first Conway Twitty concert when he's saying it, and now she legitimately needs
- 22:41help laying down. It's not even a sexual connotation. It's just like I'm
- 22:47gonna I don't want you to pop that hip out. Hello, Darlin,
- 22:51I'm your physical therapist. If we don't, if we don't get funding for
- 22:57a movie called Conway Twitty Physical Therapist, Hey, we already got our first
- 23:04series, uh, Swollen m D. So I think I think Conway Twitty
- 23:11Physical Therapist would be a good follow up. It's the spin off. It's
- 23:14a spin off from Swollen D. He's one of the guys that he's one
- 23:18of the ancillary characters that would just come in and do the physical therapy.
- 23:21And they're like, oh, we've gotta make a show about him. But
- 23:22I would. I would pay. I would pay a subscription fee to watch
- 23:27Conway Twitty Physical Therapist. I would also I would also pay for a show
- 23:36Idealia and Katrina in the Club and then then ten seasons Idalian Katrina all washed
- 23:45up? How hurricane of them. Another news another and this is this is
- 24:00some sad news. We all we all heard that. We all heard the
- 24:03news about Bob Barker leaving this world a few days ago, right, yep,
- 24:07yes we did. It was very very sad and rage. I even
- 24:11saw that you posted on Instagram, you know, a nice, nice touching
- 24:14tribute. Yeah, Bob Bob Barker. I would like to I like to
- 24:17give you credit for not being among the multitude of people making the same joke
- 24:22over and over about Bob Barker dying at ninety nine and not going over a
- 24:26hundred. Yeah, but he I mean he did. He did make sure
- 24:33he was going into the Showcase showdown. So that's a that's a solid number.
- 24:36But no, he was a handsome Like that picture that I posted,
- 24:40he was a really handsome belt Like I A. I've always known him to
- 24:42be old, Like I remember there was that one season where he went from
- 24:47the black hair to the silver hair, like they didn't even transition it in,
- 24:51Like he just went Like there was one year where he's like black hair,
- 24:52Bob Barker on the on the prices right, and then like the next
- 24:56time, like the next season he came back here like who's that dude.
- 25:00It's like, oh, that's by Barclay just stopped dyeing his hair, like
- 25:02he was like, Hey, that's what happens when you go into the club
- 25:04and you run into idolat in Katrina. He was just never the same.
- 25:10I bet he you know, I want to I want to believe he was
- 25:14a ladies man, Like he was a handsome fella. So oh he was
- 25:17so much of a ladies man that their prices, right, producers had to
- 25:18pay out. Oh that's right. I completely forgot about that because the uh
- 25:23the spokesmodels or whatever like he was he was like sexually harassing them, right,
- 25:30Is that what it was? I know? I know he would also
- 25:32like he was also like if they didn't like and I don't know if it's
- 25:37like if they didn't uh respond to his advances or whatever, like if they
- 25:41if they didn't do the hand right, uh, like he would flip out
- 25:45on them, like if he if he didn't like the way they were presenting
- 25:48something or whatever, like he would like go crazy. Apparently, Well that's
- 25:52that's one thing, you know, telling them how to position their hands when
- 25:56showcasing, you know, a seed versus you know, versus him whispering what's
- 26:03up? Versus telling them how to position their hand in a different manner,
- 26:08or versus him whispering into their ear during a commercial break. It's okay,
- 26:12I'm neutered, but I'd love to lay you down. I think that's actually
- 26:26when he whispered, I'd like to kick you down. That's probably what got
- 26:32the producers of Price is right soon. That's what he wanted to do before
- 26:36they changed, to come on down. That's what he used to say,
- 26:37is like, Hey, I'm gonna, I'm gonna. You're listening to the
- 26:56treeline that treehouse on air dot com. If you have a roof, you
- 27:15need a roof inspection and you can get it for free when you call our
- 27:19guy, Daniel Cook at Cook DFW Roofing and Restoration. That phone number eight
- 27:23three three Cook DFW, the website cook dfw dot com. Now, Daniel,
- 27:27I know that I've been the neighbor of someone having a roof replaced in
- 27:32the past and I ended up with shingles in my yard and in my pool,
- 27:36and I was none too happy about that. But when I mentioned that
- 27:38to you before, you said, that's not how you guys operate. No,
- 27:41Dan, not at all. So when we get to our projects,
- 27:45we alert the neighbors on both sides of our projects and sometimes even behind them,
- 27:48because as you know, some of these homes have extremely steep roofs and
- 27:52debris is gonna get out. It's impossible to hold all that debris into that
- 27:56one yard, and so we just alert our neighbors and making sure they know
- 28:00we're gonna be there to build, We're gonna come right. We like to
- 28:03have access to their backyards. If they have you know, very valuable or
- 28:07volatile you know backyards with pools or a lot of landscaping and stuff like that,
- 28:11we protect it just like it's our customers. And so that's the only
- 28:15way we can do things. And again it's taken the time to do the
- 28:18details to make sure you're taking care of not only that client that you're working
- 28:22on that time, but the whole neighborhood. And that's our mission statement.
- 28:25We're going to leave your neighborhood better than what we found it. And so
- 28:29protecting pools, landscaping, all those things just part of the process, just
- 28:33part of the process for them. But other companies don't follow that same process.
- 28:37That's why we recommend Cook DFW roofing and restoration right here in the treehouse.
- 28:41Give him a call eight three three cook DFW. That's eight three three

- 29:08Jacqueline, I have a very random question for you. What is the
- 29:12weirdest thing you've ever found in a drain? Oh, inappropriate adult toy store
- 29:18style items is definitely a thing. We've found everything from I mean tennis balls
- 29:26stuck in toilets, to Barbie doll heads to wipes you should not be flushing
- 29:30wipes. I don't care what your sewer systems made out of. Did I
- 29:34say rings like wedding rings, adult toys? Would they call them sewer rats?
- 29:40That would be the feminine products which nobody. You're not supposed to flush
- 29:44those either, And I don't know why they don't teach girls that don't flush
- 29:47those either kind all the kinds don't flush them. Being a plumber is sort
- 29:51of like a box of chocolates. You go on a call and you never
- 29:53know what you're gonna get. Don't worry about whatever you have accidentally flushed or

- 30:48why Bob Barker used the super thin microphone, is that he just one of
- 30:52the limit expectations. That's rods, because now I can't unsee that when he's
- 31:06just holding like mine's bigger. It's sort of the opposite. In baseball and
- 31:12the on deck circle, you add all the weight to a bat so it's
- 31:17really light when you get to the batter's box. Maybe Bob was doing the
- 31:22opposite. Maybe that was the whole reason for the big wheel, is just
- 31:27to see what your grit strength was like. This has turned that show into
- 31:34such a horrible thing in my mind. Now, no, it's a great
- 31:40thing. Oh I can see is like Bob Barker backstage and zipping his pants
- 31:45going plinko, and then when he finishes, he just yodels. Yet somehow
- 32:00Rod Roddy's still off to the side, just sweating and read and druly rubbing
- 32:08his hands together. That's why it was always bedroom furniture away and a new
- 32:16car for Bob to put you in, to drive you off. Get out
- 32:22of my house. Here's a new Ford. Yeah. I don't think it
- 32:24was any coincidence that every single sofa that was one on their prices right was
- 32:30a pullout. Little didn't we know? The meaning behind the prices right was
- 32:37just hush money, poor bestards that yelled all one dollar, poor best that
- 32:50yelled at one dollar and one What is kind of quality chick as he getting
- 32:55for a dollar? It's that's what happens. That's what. But when you
- 33:00go over and Bob, I'll give you the leftovers. It was always that
- 33:06one game where you had togress I guess the items that will always like Now
- 33:08it makes sense because it was like Scotch Garden Bleach. I was the price
- 33:14was to advance or that was just how you had to And while Bob was
- 33:22screwing everybody on stage, is you just you took the box of bore acts
- 33:25that you got wrong on the price and just ate it all. We're gonna
- 33:32watch that show again. I was gonna watch it more like, how was
- 33:39Drew Carey not watching that show and getting ideas? Oh my goodness, have
- 33:45y'all ever heard Dan Patrick tell the story about him being offered that job?
- 33:51No, no, So this is after Dan Patrick left ESPN, you know,
- 33:55and he was one of the most popular anchors and he had started his
- 34:00you know, radio show, and then they called him up when Barker was
- 34:02leaving and asked him, Yeah, I wanted him to become doing an audition.
- 34:06He did, and they called him back and they said, we'd like
- 34:07you to take the job, fly to LA and and he's like, well,
- 34:14how much are you gonna pay me? They're like, don't worry about
- 34:15it. You'll be taking well taken care of. But you know, do
- 34:20you want the job? He said, well, I'm not gonna commit to
- 34:22it without you telling me how much I'm gonna make. Like, don't worry
- 34:25about it, he said, you know, it's an easy schedule. Blah
- 34:30blah blah. He turned it down, and then you know later he figured
- 34:34out that, you know, they were offering him. I think at the
- 34:36time seven million a year. Wow say that. I think they they wanted
- 34:44someone who really wanted the job, not just the money. Yeah. I
- 34:47was actually on a show with with Drew at the laugh Actory one night.
- 34:52He was he was great, he's a wonderful human being, but he also
- 34:54talks about the prices right, and he's like, he was doing jokes about
- 34:58it on stage. I was like, you don't understand that show will bankrupt
- 35:00you, and he's like, I don't like people started laughing. It's like
- 35:05physically or morally, like like to the to the to the the prize winners,
- 35:09he's like, here's the thing. He goes, Oh yeah, He's
- 35:14like when you win a hot tub, He's like, what do you think
- 35:16the price is right? Does? It's like, we're not sending somebody over
- 35:20there to install a hot tub, We're leaving it on your front lawn and
- 35:24then you have to figure out what to do with it. Oh. I
- 35:28thought they were saying that they just leave it on stage and you have to
- 35:30arrange movement of it from the prices right stage to your home. If you
- 35:35want it, they'll ship it and then that's it. So if you if
- 35:40you win a hot tub and you live in an apartment, and he's like,
- 35:44we just leave it at your we just leave it on the lawn like
- 35:46you have to if you want to dispose of it, you have to do
- 35:50that on your own. It makes one really difficult to keep it from your
- 35:53neighbors that you won the showcase show down if it's sitting on the curb.
- 35:59Yeah, you have to pay taxes on that stuff. And so yes,
- 36:02you know, if you win a ten thousand dollars hot tub, you're probably
- 36:05gonna have to shell out three grand in taxes. Yeah, that's what he's
- 36:07saying. And he goes and then to like, if you want to install
- 36:09it, you have to have somebody to come over. He goes, that's
- 36:12why he'll tell them like like he'll whisper. He's like, take the cash,
- 36:16don't take the prize. Take the cash because I'll give you the cash
- 36:19value of it. And he's like literally whispered to the contestants were like,
- 36:22you just want all of this crap, and he's like take the cash.
- 36:27So what I'm hearing is the best way to make money on their prices,
- 36:30right, was to have Bob Barker make a pass at you with the I
- 36:38R S. He'd at least make a game out of it. Evidently didn't
- 36:42carry. He's just offering him cash, no romance at all. Halfway through
- 36:54the episode, you're off. You're finding out you're not even on TV.
- 37:00You're just in the back of the prices, right man. Be sure to
- 37:08I can't even talk anymore? Who all right? The very first Trader Day
- 37:14episode I think has been a resounding success. I don't care what any anyone
- 37:17else thinks, but I'm gonna I'm gonna give it two thumbs up. Be

- 37:57It's amazing. It's a fantastic line up, all a bunch of low

- 38:06Bangers at the Dallas Comedy Glad. I think this is it's gonna be called
- 38:09Barker's Bangers. It's a lot better than another artwork that compare with Rag.
