- 0:02Greatmomma: Myth Lab Entertainment presents Home for the Holidays.
- 0:07Greatmomma: The Privilege.
- 0:23Police Officer: Stand up.
- 0:24Police Officer: Hands behind your back.
- 0:27Tiffany: Uh but why, officer, what did I do?
- 0:30Tiffany: What did you do?
- 0:32Police Officer: You just spat in this man's face, ma'am.
- 0:34Police Officer: Assault.
- 0:35Police Officer: You hit those two women over there with this sign.
- 0:39Police Officer: Also assault.
- 0:41Tiffany: What sign?
- 0:42Tiffany: Make America hate again.
- 0:46Tiffany: Sir, I don't know what this is about.
- 0:50Tiffany: I am here with my girlfriends.
- 0:52Tiffany: We just came from brunch.
- 0:54Tiffany: They're over there.
- 0:56Tiffany: Hey! Asia! Terri! Hey! Hey! I need help.
- 1:02Police Officer: Maybe you ought to investigate what they put in your mimosas.
- 1:05Police Officer: The women you're talking about are the ones pressing charges.
- 1:08Police Officer: Let's go, Miss Hollis.
- 1:10Tiffany: Officer, no.
- 1:11Tiffany: Please, please, let me just talk to them.
- 1:15Police Officer: This speaks for itself.
- 1:16Police Officer: Doesn't it?
- 1:40Tiffany: Make America hate again! Make America hate again! That’s right, go back to Africa, you ghetto hoochie mamas. There are kids playing in this park.
- 1:47Police Officer: Seen enough.
- 1:48Police Officer: Let's go.
- 1:49Tiffany: Oh my God.
- 1:50Tiffany: I don't know what's going on.
- 1:52Tiffany: That couldn't be me.
- 1:54Tiffany: That couldn't be me.
- 1:58Greatmomma: Well, I guess you've met Tiffany, my oldest great niece.
- 2:02Greatmomma: If you knew her, you'd be in deep disbelief.
- 2:05Greatmomma: A straight A student and an athlete to boot.
- 2:09Greatmomma: A chronic overachiever who has always made loot.
- 2:13Greatmomma: She was undergrad at Duke, earned her MBA from Northwestern.
- 2:17Greatmomma: Her being a success was never in question.
- 2:20Greatmomma: She climbed the corporate ladder as an operations whiz.
- 2:24Boss: Congratulations on your promotion.
- 2:28Greatmomma: But as she climbed a bit higher, the steps started to give.
- 2:32Greatmomma: She was passed over for a promotion.
- 2:34Greatmomma: Not a huge deal.
- 2:36Greatmomma: She had patience, endurance, and nerves of steel.
- 2:39Greatmomma: Passed up two more times.
- 2:41Greatmomma: She did some reflection.
- 2:43Greatmomma: Seemed like only Black women were getting rejections.
- 2:46Greatmomma: And this phenomenon was in play everywhere.
- 2:48Greatmomma: Layoffs crashing in waves, and none of them fair.
- 2:58Boss: The members leaving us today are valuable parts of our organization. Let's thank them for their contributions.
- 3:00Boss: Quickly, before we cut off their team's access.
- 3:04Tiffany: Oh my god!
- 3:07Greatmomma: She made it through three rounds and started feeling secure.
- 3:11Greatmomma: She even booked an overseas vacation, a safari tour.
- 3:16Greatmomma: But just a few hours into her flight abroad, she opened an urgent email.
- 3:22Boss: Your entire department was dissolved.
- 3:25Tiffany: Oh my God!
- 3:26Tiffany: Somebody help me!
- 3:28Tiffany: I need to use this oxygen mask!
- 3:31Flight Attendant: Ma'am, that is only an event of a change in cabin pressure.
- 3:35Flight Attendant: Take your seat, or we'll remove you from the flight.
- 3:38Tiffany: Would I be able to get a refund?
- 3:46Tiffany: You're OK. You got this.
- 3:47Tiffany: You still got your savings.
- 3:50Greatmomma: This started the spiral that brings us to this point, with Tiffany cuffed and crying, enroute to the joint.
- 3:56Greatmomma: She had been unemployed a year and a half.
- 4:00Greatmomma: Her savings were near empty, and her credit was trash.
- 4:04Greatmomma: She had a spreadsheet to track her hundreds of applications.
- 4:08Greatmomma: She'd only gotten three interviews and two sketchy situations.
- 4:12Greatmomma: She attended empowerment brunches, sent pain letters to CEOs.
- 4:17Greatmomma: She hired five different career coaches.
- 4:20Greatmomma: Nothing got her a roll.
- 4:21Greatmomma: So let's run it back, as the youngsters might say.
- 4:24Greatmomma: This tale is called The Privilege, and it begins this way.
- 4:35Antonio: This is Tiffany.
- 4:36Antonio: Hi, Tiffany, it's Antonio.
- 4:38Antonio: How are you doing?
- 4:39Tiffany: Fine, thanks.
- 4:40Tiffany: I'm uh heading into a meeting.
- 4:45Antonio: Oh, sure, I understand.
- 4:46Antonio: I got your latest request, and I have to warn you: if you take this amount, you won't get what you're looking for.
- 4:51Antonio: Uncle Sam is gonna tax you at 30%, and then there is a fee for early withdrawal.
- 4:57Tiffany: Uh-huh.
- 4:58Antonio: I know we went over this the last time, but there will be $1,000 left if you want me to make this transaction.
- 5:04Antonio: You there, Tiffany?
- 5:07Tiffany: I don't expect you to understand.
- 5:10Tiffany: But I have bills to pay, so I would really appreciate it if you could just process it as fast as possible.
- 5:16Tiffany: I'm not a child.
- 5:17Tiffany: I don't need a lecture.
- 5:19Tiffany: And I understand if you have to drop me as a client.
- 5:22Antonio: Hey, hey, I'm sorry.
- 5:23Antonio: I get it.
- 5:24Antonio: Times are tough.
- 5:25Antonio: It's just that it's my responsibility to let you know the ramifications.
- 5:29Antonio: I'll email you when the transaction is processing.
- 5:32Tiffany: Okay, so how soon will funds be available?
- 5:34Antonio: In about 15 days.
- 5:36Tiffany: Thanks.
- 5:36Tiffany: I gotta go.
- 5:37Tiffany: The meeting is starting.
- 5:39Coach Kayla: Grand rising, Tiffany. How does the day find you, sis?
- 5:51Tiffany: Hello, Coach Kayla.
- 5:52Tiffany: It finds me...OK.
- 5:53Coach Kayla: That’s not good enough!
- 5:53Tiffany: I'm feeling powerful and prepared.
- 6:05Coach Kayla: That's much better.
- 6:05Tiffany: So I was going on LinkedIn like you advised to post about my progress.
- 6:12Coach Kayla: Before we get into that...Did you get my coaching in voice?
- 6:14Tiffany: I did.
- 6:15Tiffany: And I still have 15 days.
- 6:17Tiffany: You'll have your money.
- 6:18Coach Kayla: Well, that's good to hear because just like you, I know my worth, sis.
- 6:20Coach Kayla: I can’t share my knowledge for free.
- 6:29Tiffany: Um then, yes, like I said, you'll have your money.
- 6:33Tiffany: I had to move some funds around, but I haven't gotten any interviews since we started working together.
- 6:39Tiffany: Our contract says five guaranteed interviews.
- 6:43Coach Kayla: Indeed, it does.
- 6:45Coach Kayla: And I'm sure you saw the clause there.
- 6:48Coach Kayla: It says, if the client does the work.
- 6:52Coach Kayla: I'm not a magician after all.
- 6:56Tiffany: I am doing the work.
- 6:58Tiffany: I posted on LinkedIn.
- 6:59Tiffany: I reached out to the list of CEOs you gave me.
- 7:03Tiffany: I spent money I don't have on that Chicken, Waffles and Work-Life balance brunch in Atlanta.
- 7:08Tiffany: I'm still paying off that stay at the Ladies Who Lead in Life conference.
- 7:13Coach Kayla: Well, I hate to tell you this because I know you are trying in your way.
- 7:21Coach Kayla: But despite those experiences, you are still giving a low vibration aura.
- 7:28Coach Kayla: It's giving desperate.
- 7:31Coach Kayla: It's giving pick me.
- 7:33Coach Kayla: It's giving.
- 7:34Coach Kayla: "I haven't worked in years."
- 7:37Tiffany: I haven't worked in years.
- 7:39Tiffany: That's why I'm talking to you right now.
- 7:41Tiffany: The idea was you would change that.
- 7:45Coach Kayla: Aha! No accountability either.
- 7:48Coach Kayla: Did you attend that workshop I sent you about owning your shit?
- 7:54Tiffany: I did, but I saw you were leading it, so it didn't make sense to spend more money when we talk every week.
- 8:00Tiffany: Why don't we go over what you shared right now?
- 8:03Coach Kayla: That's a different track, Tiffany that is not covered under this contract.
- 8:08Coach Kayla: But I can offer you a 50% discount on a replay of the video. It was very popular.
- 8:15Tiffany: How many of the women who are attending are working?
- 8:23Coach Kayla: Come again?
- 8:23Tiffany: I said how many of the women who attended have a job?
- 8:27Tiffany: Let's expand that.
- 8:29Tiffany: How many women that you coach have gotten a job?
- 8:33Coach Kayla: Oh dear, did you say something?
- 8:36Coach Kayla: You are breaking up.
- 8:43Coach Kayla: It may be on my end.
- 8:46Coach Kayla: Why don't we do this?
- 8:48Coach Kayla: Let's set up time to chat later this week.
- 8:53Coach Kayla: In the meantime, my offer for Own Your Shit still stands.
- 9:00Coach Kayla: Just let a sista know.
- 9:06Greatmomma: Tiffany paced through her kitchen, her mind and heart racing.
- 9:10Greatmomma: Did this snake oil saleswoman understand the fate she was facing?
- 9:14Greatmomma: She was one notice from eviction.
- 9:17Greatmomma: Her parents couldn't afford a loan.
- 9:19Greatmomma: Her pride, like her money and credit, was gone.
- 9:22Greatmomma: Normally she kept this information bottled up inside.
- 9:26Greatmomma: You'd never want to show you a suffering.
- 9:28Greatmomma: It makes most hiring folks hide.
- 9:31Greatmomma: She'd barely told her two best girlfriends, but in a moment of desperation, she opened LinkedIn.
- 9:38Greatmomma: She was filled with inspiration.
- 9:41Greatmomma: And in a post that she would remember for the rest of her days, she spilled on how she'd been suffering, how her funds slipped away.
- 9:49Greatmomma: She talked about racism, microaggressions, the glass ceiling.
- 9:54Greatmomma: She gave voice to losing her 401k and shared all of her feelings.
- 9:59Greatmomma: When she was finished, and though she had done the absolute most, she didn't hesitate a second.
- 10:05Greatmomma: She went ahead and hit post.
- 10:07Greatmomma: Then she went to her bedroom, slipped on her satin cap, and with a face streaked with tears, took a long, dreamless nap.
- 10:20Tiffany: What the hell?
- 10:30Tiffany: Oh my God!
- 10:34Greatmomma: In all her years on LinkedIn, Tiffany got a handful of likes, but after this post, she got the biggest reaction of life.
- 10:42Greatmomma: Thousands of insights, celebrates, and supports.
- 10:46Greatmomma: She was hearing from executives who'd never connected before.
- 10:50Greatmomma: There were so many comments offering empathy and assistance.
- 10:54Greatmomma: One even suggested she start a corporate resistance.
- 10:58Greatmomma: But the comment that most clearly caught my great niece's eye was one offering her a job if she would only reply.
- 11:05Greatmomma: Now Tiffany knew better than these MLM schemes, but when she clicked on who commented, it was just like a dream.
- 11:13Greatmomma: It was one of the CEOs that she sent a request, so she checked this Mark Tucker profile for any AI mess.
- 11:20Greatmomma: But it was proven legit, so with fingers shaking and scared, she sent him a response, she was powerful and prepared.
- 11:29Greatmomma: After some back and forth, it was decided they'd meet at a renowned Chicago steakhouse, of course, Mark Tucker's treat.
- 11:38Greatmomma: He probably owned the whole block.
- 11:40Greatmomma: No.
- 11:41Greatmomma: Make that the street.
- 11:51Mark Tucker: Apologies, I was late.
- 11:53Mark Tucker: Shareholder meeting.
- 11:56Tiffany: I certainly understand.
- 11:57Tiffany: Thank you so much for the invitation.
- 11:59Tiffany: It's wonderful to meet you in person.
- 12:01Mark Tucker: Is it?
- 12:02Mark Tucker: Folks tell me I'm a bit of a disappointment in real life.
- 12:05Mark Tucker: Not as interesting as it all looks on social.
- 12:10Tiffany: No, no.
- 12:11Tiffany: I'm not disappointed in the least.
- 12:13Tiffany: I followed your career since you found a culture clash, and the trajectory is incredible.
- 12:19Mark Tucker: Have you worked in the marketing industry before?
- 12:22Tiffany: I have not, but I've worked with the agencies my past organizations have hired.
- 12:27Tiffany: Operations is always in the mix, so I got a sense of the industry and the way they approach their work.
- 12:33Tiffany: I am confident that I can.
- 12:36Mark Tucker: Tiffany, Tiffany.
- 12:37Mark Tucker: This isn't a job interview.
- 12:39Mark Tucker: You don't have to sell yourself to me.
- 12:42Mark Tucker: I'm just making conversation.
- 12:45Mark Tucker: Hey there! Where are the steaks we ordered?
- 12:49Mark Tucker: I've been waiting five minutes.
- 12:51Mark Tucker: How long does it take?
- 12:52Mark Tucker: I'm on a tight schedule.
- 12:54Mark Tucker: I don't care whose table you're serving.
- 12:56Mark Tucker: Go find our food.
- 12:58Mark Tucker: Sorry about that, Tiffany.
- 13:02Mark Tucker: My Achilles heel is I'm into efficiency.
- 13:06Mark Tucker: Now, where were we?
- 13:09Tiffany: You were saying this isn't a job interview.
- 13:11Mark Tucker: That's right.
- 13:12Mark Tucker: I'm prepared to make you an offer.
- 13:15Mark Tucker: I looked at your experience.
- 13:17Mark Tucker: Remind me, did you attend an HBCU?
- 13:21Tiffany: No, I didn't, but I did start an organization to help HBCU students get into the operations pipeline.
- 13:27Tiffany: It's called Black Ops.
- 13:32Mark Tucker: Oh my! Oh that is so clever.
- 13:36Mark Tucker: And you grew up on the South Side of Chicago.
- 13:39Tiffany: I did.
- 13:40Tiffany: It's a community called Beverly, but it might be misleading.
- 13:43Tiffany: I know the South Side has somewhat of a reputation.
- 13:46Tiffany: Beverly was very Irish Catholic.
- 13:48Tiffany: It's like a suburb in the city.
- 13:50Mark Tucker: Hmm. That must have been challenging. Was it boring to grow up there?
- 13:52Tiffany: Boring?
- 13:58Mark Tucker: Me, myself, I've always wondered what it would be like to grow up on the real South or West side of the city.
- 14:05Mark Tucker: You know, the action is.
- 14:08Mark Tucker: I am a Lincoln Park boy myself.
- 14:11Mark Tucker: My father owned a furniture chain that was a big hit on the north side.
- 14:15Mark Tucker: You may have heard of it.
- 14:17Mark Tucker: Wood and iron.
- 14:19Tiffany: Oh, yes.
- 14:20Mark Tucker: Very good.
- 14:21Mark Tucker: Very good.
- 14:22Mark Tucker: Yes, this is the seed money that built Culture Clash.
- 14:27Mark Tucker: I'm grateful to him for that.
- 14:30Mark Tucker: I recognize that I have an immense amount of privilege, and that's why when I see a story like yours, it moves me to action.
- 14:40Mark Tucker: I want to make sure more talented individuals with potential get to experience something I was essentially handed from a young age.
- 14:51Mark Tucker: But that's enough about me.
- 14:53Mark Tucker: So, the one thing that is very important at our company is that our employees be a part of the zeitgeist.
- 15:03Mark Tucker: You get my meaning?
- 15:04Mark Tucker: They need to be all over TikTok, threads, Instagram.
- 15:09Mark Tucker: Whatever's, as they say, popping.
- 15:13Mark Tucker: Our company can't survive if we aren't ahead of the culture curve.
- 15:17Mark Tucker: It's odd, but the advantages I have as a white man can sometimes make it hard for me to tap into that.
- 15:27Mark Tucker: Do you understand what I mean?
- 15:30Tiffany: Uh, I think so.
- 15:32Mark Tucker: It's okay.
- 15:33Mark Tucker: I can admit it.
- 15:34Mark Tucker: Privilege is like being in a private club.
- 15:38Mark Tucker: It has its advantages and disadvantages.
- 15:43Mark Tucker: It's about time.
- 15:46Mark Tucker: And where the hell is the cream spinach she ordered?
- 15:49Mark Tucker: Go get it now.
- 15:54Tiffany: Oh, it's fine.
- 15:55Tiffany: I can get started on this.
- 15:56Tiffany: No.
- 15:57Tiffany: No, you can't.
- 15:59Mark Tucker: This meal needs to be complete.
- 16:01Mark Tucker: He knows that.
- 16:03Mark Tucker: Move! What are you waiting on?
- 16:06Mark Tucker: An engraved invitation to use your legs?
- 16:12Tiffany: It's actually fine.
- 16:13Tiffany: And please go easy on him.
- 16:15Tiffany: I'm enjoying your conversation.
- 16:16Tiffany: Maybe I tipped them to be slow so we can keep talking about culture clash.
- 16:23Mark Tucker: Oh man! Oh! Oh, that's hilarious! I love it! Oh, a kind individual and also a smart one.
- 16:35Mark Tucker: I'll tell you a little secret.
- 16:37Mark Tucker: This is actually part of my test that I give new employees.
- 16:42Mark Tucker: How do they behave with wait staff?
- 16:45Mark Tucker: That young man is no waiter.
- 16:48Mark Tucker: He's Carter Reynolds, our head of communications.
- 16:52Tiffany: Oh my!
- 16:53Mark Tucker: This steakhouse is actually underneath Culture Clash's secondary headquarters.
- 16:59Mark Tucker: Everyone you see here is an employee.
- 17:02Mark Tucker: Here to test how well you mesh with our culture.
- 17:07Tiffany: How'd I do?
- 17:08Mark Tucker: Splendidly! I watched how courteous you were, even to the coat room girl Bianca.
- 17:14Mark Tucker: She's a Spelman grad, in fact.
- 17:17Mark Tucker: You were most kind to her, I noticed.
- 17:20Tiffany: I don't know about that, but she's a very sweet girl.
- 17:23Tiffany: So who is she?
- 17:24Tiffany: The head of marketing?
- 17:26Mark Tucker: No, she's actually the coat room girl.
- 17:28Mark Tucker: Uh, but who knows?
- 17:30Mark Tucker: One day she might be up for a promotion.
- 17:33Mark Tucker: But let's focus on you for now.
- 17:36Mark Tucker: I can offer you a $200,000 salary, full benefits, three-week vacation, your own office, and subsidized rent here in our penthouse apartments.
- 17:49Mark Tucker: You will also be part of a mentorship program that I personally supervise.
- 17:55Mark Tucker: It's uh a little ironically titled.
- 17:58Mark Tucker: It's called the Privilege.
- 18:01Tiffany: Oh, Mr.
- 18:01Tiffany: Tucker, you don't know what this means to me.
- 18:04Mark Tucker: Call me Mark.
- 18:06Mark Tucker: There's still one more step.
- 18:08Mark Tucker: I can't have unstable individuals working at this company.
- 18:12Mark Tucker: We've had some incidents in the past.
- 18:17Mark Tucker: What I need you to do is take a battery of tests administered by our head of HR, April Mays.
- 18:25Mark Tucker: Once we see those results, the offer formally goes out for review.
- 18:31Mark Tucker: And of course, you can and should negotiate.
- 18:36Tiffany: Absolutely.
- 18:37Tiffany: When can I take the test?
- 18:39Mark Tucker: As soon as you finish your lunch.
- 18:41Mark Tucker: That is, if you have the bandwidth today.
- 18:45Tiffany: I do, I do.
- 18:46Tiffany: Thank you so much, Mark.
- 18:48Tiffany: This is what I've been praying for.
- 18:51Tiffany: It's such an honor to have gotten to talk with you.
- 18:54Mark Tucker: Oh, no, no.
- 18:56Mark Tucker: The privilege is all mine.
- 19:07The Tester: Your name is Tiffany Hollis.
- 19:10Tiffany: Correct.
- 19:13Coach Kayla: You grew up in Beverly on 103rd and Longwood.
- 19:17Coach Kayla: Correct.
- 19:18Coach Kayla: Who is ASAP Rocky married to?
- 19:25The Tester: Trick question.
- 19:25The Tester: ASAP Rocky is with Rihanna, but we have no current proof.
- 19:29The Tester: They're legally married.
- 19:32Coach Kayla: Correct.
- 19:33Coach Kayla: Name a song you would hear at a family cookout.
- 19:38Tiffany: Joy and pain.
- 19:42The Tester: Who is the artist?
- 19:44Tiffany: Frankie Beverly and Maze.
- 19:50The Tester: Do you cook?
- 19:51Tiffany: I do.
- 19:52The Tester: Which of these ingredients does not belong in a potato salad?
- 19:57The Tester: Mayonnaise?
- 19:58The Tester: Sweet relish?
- 20:00The Tester: Raisins.
- 20:02Tiffany: Raisins.
- 20:07The Tester: Another multiple choice question.
- 20:09The Tester: In what album does the artist Beyonce explore her husband's infidelities?
- 20:14The Tester: Lemonade?
- 20:16The Tester: Kool-Aid?
- 20:17The Tester: Or Sunny D.
- 20:18Tiffany: Lemonade.
- 20:19Tiffany: But you could argue she also does some introspection in Cowboy Carter.
- 20:28The Tester: Bonus points.
- 20:29The Tester: Record score.
- 20:30The Tester: Speed round.
- 20:31The Tester: Finish the sentence.
- 20:33Tiffany: Okay.
- 20:34The Tester: Ready?
- 20:35The Tester: You lit.
- 20:36Tiffany: You the birthday candle.
- 20:37The Tester: If a person can't sing, but they are very loud, what are they in fact doing?
- 20:42Tiffany: Hootin' and hollering.
- 20:43The Tester: Which rapper is a paper chaser who has the block on fire?
- 20:47Tiffany: Juvenile a.k.a.
- 20:48Tiffany: Juvie the Great.
- 20:50The Tester: Congratulations.
- 20:51The Tester: You have passed the Culture Clash Relevancy Test.
- 20:55The Tester: Perfect score.
- 20:57The Tester: Please proceed to HR to receive your offer to be our director of operations.
- 21:03The Tester: And learn more about your first in-person meeting for the Privileged Program.
- 21:13Greatmomma: Fast forward three months later, we were all happy for my great niece.
- 21:17Greatmomma: She moved to the Culture Clash's penthouse in a two-year lease.
- 21:21Greatmomma: She got a company car, for some reason, a Tesla truck.
- 21:25Greatmomma: We warned her it was risky to rep for Elon Musk.
- 21:29Greatmomma: She had a brand new wardrobe, a black card, a fat 401k.
- 21:34Greatmomma: She traveled all over the globe.
- 21:36Greatmomma: She was both happy and paid.
- 21:39Greatmomma: There was only a slight problem, but nothing she cared to explore.
- 21:44Greatmomma: She was having a few memory challenges.
- 21:46Greatmomma: It was happening more and more.
- 21:48Greatmomma: For example, one day she left to go pick up an order at Harold's, then came to at her table alone at Cracker Barrel.
- 21:57Greatmomma: Another time she was making mac and cheese for a cookout at Aunt Deja’s, But when she tasted the family fave it was lacking in flavor. When she went back to her cabinet to make sure it was kicking, all she had was salt and pepper.
- 22:11Greatmomma: The other spices were missing.
- 22:13Tiffany: Lord, no, not the Lawry's.
- 22:16Greatmomma: And she found herself hanging with her friends less and less.
- 22:19Greatmomma: When they asked what was ailing her, she just told them...
- 22:23Tiffany: Stress.
- 22:25Greatmomma: But that didn't explain another strange phenomenon that was happening in her life.
- 22:29Greatmomma: Mark Tucker seemed to be transforming as if overnight.
- 22:33Greatmomma: She saw him each week as they met for the privilege.
- 22:36Greatmomma: About 50 black executives who formed a tight-knit village.
- 22:40Greatmomma: Mark led the meetings, sharing long-hidden advice that had helped his fellow white leaders excel in all walks of life.
- 22:48Greatmomma: But far from the robotic CEO she talked to over stake, he was getting cooler and cooler with each meeting they take.
- 22:56Greatmomma: Even his walk was smooth, a prime Denzel Washington strut.
- 23:01Greatmomma: He knew all the most popular slang.
- 23:03Greatmomma: It was all a bit much.
- 23:05Greatmomma: Meanwhile, Tiffany found herself in Auntie territory.
- 23:09Greatmomma: I can't do it justice.
- 23:11Greatmomma: Let's hear the rest of the story.
- 23:29Tiffany: Good, good.
- 23:29Tiffany: Love to hear it.
- 23:30Tiffany: Hey, can someone come up and take a look and see at my computer?
- 23:34Tiffany: Whatever you want to say.
- 23:48Tiffany: Yeah, I'll see you soon.
- 23:50Tiffany: At least not if I see you first.
- 23:52Tiffany: Oh God, what is this song?
- 24:23Tiffany: Help! Gerald, come in.
- 24:32Gerald: Hey Tiff, I hurried right over.
- 24:35Gerald: Now normally I don't touch personal socials.
- 24:38Gerald: But I understand you're using it to promote sanctioned company activities, correct?
- 24:42Tiffany: Abso friggin' lutley.
- 24:45Gerald: Okay.
- 24:45Gerald: Can I get in here and check some things out?
- 24:47Tiffany: Be my guest.
- 24:52Gerald: That's a nice groove you got going.
- 24:54Gerald: Who is this?
- 24:55Tiffany: Um, I don't I don't know.
- 24:59Gerald: You don't?
- 25:00Gerald: This is your liked list?
- 25:03Tiffany: It is?
- 25:03Tiffany: I have to say, Gerald.
- 25:05Tiffany: Maybe it's picking songs for me.
- 25:07Tiffany: This doesn't ring a bell.
- 25:09Tiffany: Matter of fact, if you don't mind, can I slide on some Billy Ray Cyrus?
- 25:13Tiffany: I'm just going to work over here, and frankly, that song is making me feel jittery.
- 25:18Tiffany: Sure thing.
- 25:25Gerald: Huh.
- 25:26Gerald: Do you think maybe your personal devices got breached?
- 25:30Tiffany: What do you mean?
- 25:30Tiffany: No, I was just on these same sites before I got into the office.
- 25:35Tiffany: That's why it's so strange.
- 25:37Gerald: What were you doing?
- 25:38Tiffany: Nothing.
- 25:39Tiffany: Just scheduling posts, trying to get ahead.
- 25:41Tiffany: I got here, tried to get on to make a few edits, and nothing doing.
- 25:47Gerald: Well, this is odd.
- 25:48Gerald: It seems like your accounts are restricted.
- 25:52Tiffany: On everything?
- 25:53Gerald: Everything I can see.
- 25:55Gerald: I mean, I don't want to get into your business or anything.
- 25:58Gerald: But when I've seen this, it's when posts violate guidelines.
- 26:02Gerald: Any chance you got a little carried away with the promo?
- 26:05Gerald: Or maybe someone hacked you?
- 26:08Tiffany: Not a chance on either front, fella.
- 26:10Tiffany: I appreciate you trying to help.
- 26:11Tiffany: I'll figure it out.
- 26:13Tiffany: I have a lot to do before this meeting.
- 26:15Gerald: Okie dokie.
- 26:16Tiffany: Have a good weekend.
- 26:17Tiffany: TGIF, am I right?
- 26:23Tiffany: Asia and Terry! (reading text) Girl, we need to see you in person to talk.
- 26:30Tiffany: Meet us at the Blood Orange noon on Saturday.
- 26:33Tiffany: (typing response) Okay.
- 26:36Tiffany: Would love that.
- 26:38Tiffany: Haven't seen y'all in weeks.
- 26:40Tiffany: My treat?
- 26:42Tiffany: But can we go to OHOP instead?
- 26:45Tiffany: The food at Blood Orange is a little too spicy for me these days.
- 26:51Tiffany: Thanks, XOXO.
- 26:54Tiffany: = Okay, time to find out why I'm excommunicated from social.
- 27:06Greatmomma: I don't know too much about the internet.
- 27:08Greatmomma: That's before my time.
- 27:10Greatmomma: But based on what the family's been saying, Tiffany has crossed every line.
- 27:15Greatmomma: She couldn't access her posts, but from what we could find, she had gone on every social platform and Plum lost her mind.
- 27:23Greatmomma: She supported All Lives Matter, started a fight with Jasmine Crockett, and cussed out the entirety of black threads before anyone could stop it.
- 27:33Greatmomma: She congratulated Target on eradicating DEI.
- 27:37Greatmomma: She supported the weakening of voters' rights, and to our horror and surprise, she went on the Oscars page with the list of winners and said "One Battle After Another" was way better than "Sinners".
- 27:50Greatmomma: But the cherry on top of that, according to our kin, is she joined the Facebook group Make America Hate Again.
- 27:58Greatmomma: It was a network brimming with bigots who were shocked by her support.
- 28:03Greatmomma: A couple of her posts could have landed her in court.
- 28:07Greatmomma: But she had no idea, and thanks to a blackout one-two-punch, she wasn't herself again until it was time to meet her friends at brunch.
- 28:16Greatmomma: She was all dolled up and excited to meet.
- 28:19Greatmomma: But they wanted to confront her about what she was doing in these social streets.
- 28:24Greatmomma: Asia and Terri were thinking her brand new job wasn't a blessing but a curse.
- 28:30Greatmomma: And though they were on the right track, it was something far worse.
- 28:35Greatmomma: They'd convinced her to go to Blood Orange, their favorite spot.
- 28:39Greatmomma: But when she arrived, she was acting like an air-headed snot.
- 28:47Terri: Thanks for meeting us.
- 28:48Tiffany: Of course.
- 28:49Tiffany: Why are y'all being so weird?
- 28:51Tiffany: Give me a hug.
- 28:52Terri: The last time we saw you, we tried to hug you and you gave us a stiff-ass handshake.
- 28:57Asia: Yeah, then you gave us dap and missed.
- 28:59Tiffany: What are you talking about?
- 29:01Tiffany: I haven't seen you since August.
- 29:03Asia: We just saw you, girl.
- 29:04Asia: We came in your cousin's baby shower.
- 29:07Asia: You brought the mac and cheese, remember?
- 29:09Tiffany: Oh yeah.
- 29:10Terri: It was off.
- 29:12Terri: So were you.
- 29:13Terri: Girl, I'm sorry they put you on paper plate duty.
- 29:16Terri: You deserve at least another chance.
- 29:18Terri: Your Mac is usually fire.
- 29:20Tiffany: Fire?
- 29:21Tiffany: It wasn't burned.
- 29:23Asia: Okay.
- 29:23Asia: So we already ordered and we can just focus on a conversation.
- 29:28Asia: Girl, we're worried about you.
- 29:31Tiffany: Oh, what did you get?
- 29:33Asia: Your favorite.
- 29:34Asia: The Cajun bowl with the crawfish, collard greens, and extra hot sauce.
- 29:38Tiffany: Oh my lord, hot sauce?
- 29:40Tiffany: I can't eat that.
- 29:42Tiffany: And collard greens, bleh.
- 29:43Tiffany: Don't they have any cottage cheese?
- 29:46Tiffany: A fruit plate?
- 29:47Terri: What the hell? Tiffany, are you feeling alright?
- 29:48Tiffany: I feel just dandy.
- 29:53Terri: Dandy?
- 29:58Tiffany: Hey, quick.
- 29:59Tiffany: Slide your purses over here.
- 30:01Tiffany: I'll put them in the empty chair next to me.
- 30:03Asia: Wait, what?
- 30:04Tiffany: There's a big tall black man walking around between the tables.
- 30:08Tiffany: I'm on to him.
- 30:09Tiffany: Don't you worry.
- 30:11Asia: That's the owner.
- 30:12Asia: I'm sure he doesn't want what's in our wallets.
- 30:14Asia: That man is rich.
- 30:17Terri: Sure, that's what he wants you to believe.
- 30:19Terri: Okay, so it looks like we just need to get right to the point.
- 30:22Terri: You've been acting weird since you got this job.
- 30:25Terri: And not just to us.
- 30:26Terri: We thought you were just stressed and tired, but you've been saying some weird shit.
- 30:31Tiffany: Such as...
- 30:32Terri: Yhe stuff you posted all over social, for example.
- 30:34Terri: You've been tripping, but supporting racist Facebook groups?
- 30:38Terri: Trolling Black Lives Matter?
- 30:40Terri: Girl, I blocked you after you said Barack Obama was a communist spy.
- 30:44Asia: Girl, you better than me.
- 30:46Asia: I blocked you after she made her profile picture of Taylor Swift.
- 30:50Tiffany: Wait, y'all are out of your minds?
- 30:52Tiffany: I didn't do any of that.
- 30:53Tiffany: I must have been hacked.
- 30:55Asia: Well, that hacker is pretty good because whoever it is sent us both a text telling us you weren't coming to our houses anymore because we lived in the ghetto.
- 31:04Terri: Shut the front door?
- 31:06Terri: I didn't say that.
- 31:08Terri: Shut the front door?
- 31:09Terri: You sound like you have split personalities.
- 31:14Tiffany: Oh my god. Are you threatening me?
- 31:16Asia, Terri: Whaaaat?
- 31:17Tiffany: I get it.
- 31:18Tiffany: You called me here to jump me.
- 31:20Tiffany: That's what you people do.
- 31:22Tiffany: Wow.
- 31:23Asia: You people?
- 31:24Tiffany: Yeah.
- 31:24Tiffany: Well, you can sit here and eat your collard greens and fat back and grits by yourselves.
- 31:30Tiffany: I will not be bullied by the likes of you.
- 31:32Asia: Where are you going?
- 31:33Asia: We are not done talking to you.
- 31:35Tiffany: Yes, you are.
- 31:36Tiffany: Now get away from my vehicle.
- 31:38Terri: Tiffany, get back here.
- 31:39Tiffany: Let go of my door.
- 31:41Tiffany: I am pulling off.
- 31:43Terri: You better not.
- 31:44Terri: Wait a damn minute.
- 31:45Terri: Is that a Make America Hate poster in your backseat?
- 31:48Tiffany: As a matter of fact, there is.
- 31:50Tiffany: Thanks for the reminder.
- 31:51Tiffany: I'm late to meet up with my real friends.
- 31:55Asia: Who is that?
- 31:56Tiffany: Here they come now.
- 31:59Protestors: Make America Hate Again! Make America Hate Again!
- 31:59Terri: Oh my god, she has totally lost it.
- 32:02Asia: Oh hell nah! Plan B.
- 32:04Asia: We gotta call her mama.
- 32:06Asia: Mrs.
- 32:07Asia: Hollis would be mad that we waited this long.
- 32:09Tiffany: Wait for me, guys! Make America hate again! Make America hate again! Make America hate again! Everyone, I was just tricked into going to a liberal hotbed of a brunch restaurant.
- 32:24Tiffany: It is owned by what is clearly an Antifa scam artist serving up a side of diabetes with every plate. Make America Hate Again! Make America Hate Again!
- 32:36Protestor #1: Whoa, is she with us?
- 32:39Protestor #2: Hell, the more the merrier.
- 32:42Protestor #1: But she's...
- 32:43Protestor #2: It's a numbers game at this point.
- 32:45Protestor #2: Let's go! Make America hate again! Make America hate again!
- 32:51Terri: Do not go over there, girl! Those folks are crazy! They look like January 6 psychos!
- 32:55Protestors: Make America hate again! Make America hate again!
- 32:57Tiffany: Nice try! Those are patriots and FYI, they’ve been exonerated!
- 33:12Asia: Put that sign down!
- 33:12Tiffany: Let me go, let me go!
- 33:12Terri: We've got to ca the police.
- 33:12Terri: We got no choice.
- 33:13Terri: Tiffany, don't you dare, don't you dare!
- 33:27Tiffany: I keep telling you I was at brunch with my friends.
- 33:30Tiffany: We were having a good time.
- 33:32Tiffany: I don't remember anything else.
- 33:35Police Officer: That's a convenient story.
- 33:36Police Officer: Like I said, we have you on video.
- 33:39Tiffany: I'm not saying another word without a lawyer.
- 33:42Police Officer: Well, that makes you look decidedly more suspicious.
- 33:45Police Officer: But you're in luck.
- 33:46Police Officer: An attorney is here and says he represents you.
- 33:51Tiffany: Mark! Oh my God, Mark! This is so embarrassing.
- 33:54Tiffany: I'm so sorry they dragged you into this.
- 33:57Mark Tucker 2.0, Mark Tucker: NBD, little mama.
- 33:58Mark Tucker 2.0, Mark Tucker: I got you.
- 34:00Mark Tucker 2.0, Mark Tucker: Had to pull some strings to get back here, but you smart.
- 34:04Mark Tucker 2.0, Mark Tucker: Don't give nothing to 12.
- 34:05Mark Tucker 2.0, Mark Tucker: You gotta hold it down.
- 34:07Tiffany: Why are you talking like that?
- 34:10Mark Tucker 2.0, Mark Tucker: Like what?
- 34:11Mark Tucker 2.0, Mark Tucker: I'm saying though, we gotta send the best lawyers money can buy.
- 34:15Mark Tucker 2.0, Mark Tucker: They gonna get you out of here.
- 34:16Mark Tucker 2.0, Mark Tucker: Eat the charges.
- 34:18Mark Tucker 2.0, Mark Tucker: Woo woo woo! Free Tiffany 'til it's backwards.
- 34:19Tiffany: And this won't affect my job?
- 34:24Tiffany: I heard I heard that I am banned from almost every social media platform.
- 34:30Tiffany: Can you take care of that too?
- 34:32Mark Tucker 2.0: Oh hell nah.
- 34:33Mark Tucker 2.0, Mark Tucker: I ain't got it like that.
- 34:34Mark Tucker 2.0, Mark Tucker: You're gonna have to fall back.
- 34:36Mark Tucker 2.0, Mark Tucker: Oh god.
- 34:37Mark Tucker 2.0, Mark Tucker: But don't even sweat it.
- 34:38Mark Tucker 2.0, Mark Tucker: You're still gonna cop a check.
- 34:40Mark Tucker 2.0, Mark Tucker: Same amount of M's.
- 34:42Tiffany: My apartment?
- 34:44Mark Tucker 2.0, Mark Tucker: You can't go back there, my dude.
- 34:45Mark Tucker 2.0, Mark Tucker: Report a state now as we speak.
- 34:48Mark Tucker 2.0, Mark Tucker: Nah, you gotta go on the ground like Kanye, Nicki Minaj and them. You gotta go on the ground like Kanye.
- 34:54Mark Tucker 2.0, Mark Tucker: Jellyroll and post Malone.
- 34:55Mark Tucker 2.0, Mark Tucker: I got you a spot.
- 34:57Mark Tucker 2.0, Mark Tucker: A chill little island compound in Belize.
- 35:00Mark Tucker 2.0, Mark Tucker: You gonna post up there.
- 35:01Mark Tucker 2.0, Mark Tucker: We'll find you a job you can do where nobody knows you.
- 35:05Mark Tucker 2.0, Mark Tucker: You feel me?
- 35:06Tiffany: No, I don't feel you.
- 35:08Tiffany: I don't know what's going on.
- 35:10Tiffany: You come in here sounding like Lil' Boosie telling me I have a job and a check, but can't work?
- 35:15Tiffany: You're shipping me away for things I don't remember doing.
- 35:18Tiffany: Can you please help me understand what is going on?
- 35:23Mark Tucker 2.0, Mark Tucker: Aight, bet.
- 35:24Mark Tucker 2.0, Mark Tucker: What is going on, Tiffany?
- 35:27Mark Tucker 2.0, Mark Tucker: Is that your journey with the privilege has come to an end.
- 35:31Mark Tucker 2.0, Mark Tucker: It doesn't last forever.
- 35:33Mark Tucker 2.0, Mark Tucker: Well, not for people like you.
- 35:36Mark Tucker 2.0, Mark Tucker: I got what I wanted, you got what you wanted, and now it's time to part ways.
- 35:42Mark Tucker 2.0, Mark Tucker: I think I'm being very generous.
- 35:45Mark Tucker 2.0, Mark Tucker: You are still going to be highly compensated.
- 35:49Mark Tucker 2.0, Mark Tucker: Where you're headed, you can live like Mark Zuckerberg, my other favorite Mark.
- 35:54Tiffany: But I didn't do any of the things they said.
- 35:57Tiffany: What is this?
- 35:58Tiffany: AI?
- 35:59Tiffany: Are you framing me?
- 36:01Mark Tucker: No, AI is hardly that sophisticated.
- 36:04Mark Tucker: I should know I own hella stock in OpenAI.
- 36:08Mark Tucker: You were not framed.
- 36:09Mark Tucker: You were drained.
- 36:11Mark Tucker: The testing.
- 36:12Mark Tucker: The privilege.
- 36:13Mark Tucker: Exactly! I found a way to siphon some of the cool off of you and your brothas and sistas, as you all call each other.
- 36:22Mark Tucker: It's an even exchange.
- 36:24Mark Tucker: A little bit of culture for a little bit of privilege.
- 36:28Tiffany: So the whole thing about wanting to share what you got without even deserving it?
- 36:33Tiffany: That was a lie?
- 36:36Mark Tucker: No, not so much a lie.
- 36:38Mark Tucker: But an interpolation of the truth.
- 36:41Mark Tucker: You see, Tiffany, I have everything in life I could want.
- 36:46Mark Tucker: Money, houses, cars, a bunker in San Francisco next door to Sam Altman.
- 36:53Mark Tucker: But what I really wanted, I couldn't buy.
- 36:57Mark Tucker: An invitation to the cookout.
- 36:59Mark Tucker: Now, not only am I in all the 1% circles, I get invited to the BET Awards.
- 37:10Mark Tucker: People give me original credit for TikTok dances.
- 37:13Mark Tucker: I even golf with Samuel L.
- 37:16Mark Tucker: Jackson.
- 37:16Mark Tucker: In fact, right now I'm headed to a little soiree at Kendrick Lamar's house.
- 37:23Mark Tucker: I'd invite you, but you not like us.
- 37:27Tiffany: You bastard! You won't get away with this! I will tell everyone what you've done! I am not going to get shipped away to some other country because you pumped me full of anti-black shrooms.
- 37:40Tiffany: I've been who I am for 30 years.
- 37:43Tiffany: One incident won't change that.
- 37:46Mark Tucker: For real, sis, ask Snoop Dogg.
- 37:48Mark Tucker: Homeboy still ain't recovered from that crypto ball bullshit.
- 37:53Tiffany: You won't get away with this, baby.
- 37:55Tiffany: You won't get away with this!
- 37:57Mark Tucker: I've been got away with this.
- 37:59Mark Tucker: One!
- 38:02Tiffany: He's not a lawyer.
- 38:03Tiffany: I need a real lawyer.
- 38:06Tiffany: Somebody help me! Somebody help me! It wasn't me! It wasn't me! It was the privilege! It was the privilege!
- 38:19Greatmomma: I wish I could say that the guards heard her yells and that she got a lawyer to spring her up out of that cell.
- 38:25Greatmomma: But instead, Culture Clash sent her some of their own to work out a deal or more like a loan.
- 38:32Greatmomma: In exchange for keeping all her assets and earnings, they got to keep half of her cool and Mark Tucker's learnings.
- 38:39Greatmomma: She'd cop to the actions that got her caught up, but the case would be sealed and never brought up.
- 38:45Greatmomma: She did not have to move all the way to Belize, but she did leave Chicago for a set of house keys to a spot in Calabasas owned by Mark Tucker.
- 38:55Greatmomma: Let's just say he was a wily, deranged motherf**cker.
- 38:58Greatmomma: In exchange for her silence, she could work there remote.
- 39:03Greatmomma: He gave her a new car and even a boat.
- 39:06Greatmomma: She could not talk to her parents or reach out to her friends, and he wiped all her socials so there were no posts to defend.
- 39:13Greatmomma: As for the cool he extracted, he returned some of that.
- 39:17Greatmomma: So she had only occasional blackouts and misremembering of facts.
- 39:22Greatmomma: She regained her taste buds and ability to season.
- 39:25Greatmomma: She remembered her music taste, but for some unknown reason, when she sees a red hat and despite the color of her skin, she can't resist shouting, make America hate again.
- 39:37Greatmomma: So remember this lesson.
- 39:39Greatmomma: You can be down and out.
- 39:40Greatmomma: You can be on your last dollar and riddled with doubt.
- 39:44Greatmomma: If you get a DM from a strange CEO offering you a job, even if you have no place to go, think about my great niece and the loss of her village.
- 39:53Greatmomma: Never be down bad enough to trade for the privilege.
- 39:57Greatmomma: Tune in for the next episode of Home for the Holidays: Clearing the Air.
- 40:12Greatmomma: When an introverted woman inherits her beloved grandmother's estate, the biggest challenges she faces are jealous relatives.
- 40:20Greatmomma: But after dishes start flying and she begins to hear voices, she finds out the fight is with spirits claiming squatters' rights.
