- 0:00Speaker 1: Where are you?
- 0:01Speaker 2: I'm in my son's room. He's out of town with
- 0:05Speaker 2: his sister for a month or two. Maybe a month,
- 0:11Speaker 2: I think. And somebody's here to handle pest control because
- 0:19Speaker 2: of the air conditioning system and all of that stuff
- 0:22Speaker 2: is being fixed and everything.
- 0:24Speaker 1: And.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Let's just say I'm in my son's room right now.
- 0:30Speaker 1: I have never seen you outside of your closet since
- 0:33Speaker 1: COVID began, and I'm flustered.
- 0:36Speaker 2: It's a little overwhelming for me right now. It doesn't
- 0:39Speaker 2: feel as cozy as the closet does.
- 0:41Speaker 4: You know what I mean?
- 0:42Speaker 2: When I look at myself in the Zoom chat and
- 0:47Speaker 2: see all of this anime stuff in the background, I feel.
- 0:51Speaker 2: A little youthful, I guess.
- 0:54Speaker 1: More importantly, it's picture day, and I don't feel like
- 0:57Speaker 1: you put on a cute outfit. I mean, Joelle and
- 0:59Speaker 1: I clearly did. I put on this shirt.
- 1:03Speaker 4: I put on my best local restaurant t-shirt.
- 1:06Speaker 1: I fixed my hair. I fixed my hair. Donald, you're
- 1:08Speaker 1: wearing a logo we're probably going to have to Photoshop.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Really? Really?
- 1:13Speaker 4: If we're going to have to Photoshop logos out, I
- 1:14Speaker 4: can change my shirt real fast.
- 1:15Speaker 2: I can change my shirt real fast. We're not doing
- 1:17Speaker 2: pictures until the end, right?
- 1:19Speaker 1: No, this is fucking picture day. And I was excited
- 1:21Speaker 1: for it. And I'm slamming my desk about it because
- 1:24Speaker 1: I sent you all an email. I sent you all
- 1:27Speaker 1: an email that said, look cute. It's picture day.
- 1:31Speaker 6: Oh.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Because the good folks at.
- 1:36Speaker 1: Merch, wanna put the four of us on a, what
- 1:39Speaker 1: do you call the thing you put on the back
- 1:41Speaker 1: of a phone and hold it like that?
- 1:42Speaker 6: Pop socket.
- 1:43Speaker 1: On a pop socket. Donald, this is gonna be on
- 1:45Speaker 1: a pop socket.
- 1:47Speaker 2: I don't, I don't, I don't, I'm sorry.
- 1:53Speaker 1: You're like, you're like, motherfucker, I got a lot more
- 1:55Speaker 1: on my plate than a fucking pop socket.
- 1:57Speaker 2: Okay. I apologize. For everyone who buys the pop socket,
- 2:02Speaker 2: if you do not approve of What I'm wearing, I'm
- 2:05Speaker 2: going to change my shirt. But if you don't approve
- 2:07Speaker 2: of the background and or what I'm wearing.
- 2:10Speaker 1: It's all right. But don't you love how Joelle is
- 2:12Speaker 1: just touching up her makeup right now?
- 2:13Speaker 2: She looks good too.
- 2:14Speaker 6: We're not enough time in the day. You guys, COVID,
- 2:17Speaker 6: I used to like have a whole plan, you know,
- 2:20Speaker 6: and we had to do makeup and get out of
- 2:22Speaker 6: the house. But I don't have a routine anymore and
- 2:24Speaker 6: it takes so much longer than a half an hour.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Wow.
- 2:26Speaker 6: It's the worst.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Daniel changed and he looks fly as fuck.
- 2:29Speaker 6: So handsome. Love the shirt.
- 2:31Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 2:32Speaker 4: It's my best Uniqlo button-up.
- 2:32Speaker 2: You're going to have to change the hat, too, because
- 2:34Speaker 2: it has a logo on it, Daniel.
- 2:36Speaker 7: It's okay.
- 2:36Speaker 4: They can only see the brim. They can only see
- 2:38Speaker 4: the brim.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Yeah, only the brim, Donald. You're second-guessing. Do you want
- 2:41Speaker 1: to run and change your shirt for picture day?
- 2:43Speaker 2: Well, I got to run and change the whole background
- 2:45Speaker 2: for picture day, dude.
- 2:46Speaker 1: No, they can- No, they'll cut us out of our
- 2:49Speaker 1: own back house. And you can put your face close
- 2:51Speaker 1: like I'm doing here, like this.
- 2:53Speaker 2: I have no- I have a light. Actually, I have
- 2:55Speaker 2: a light for this occasion. Hold on.
- 2:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I've got my ring light on, dude. I took
- 2:58Speaker 1: picture day seriously. Y'all are fucking phoning it in.
- 3:00Speaker 2: I'll be right back. I'm sorry. I apologize to you, Zach.
- 3:03Speaker 2: I should be purged. I should be punished. I have
- 3:06Speaker 2: offended my dear brother, Zachary. Zachary.
- 3:10Speaker 1: I'm in such a good mood right now. Zachary. I
- 3:12Speaker 1: love it.
- 3:13Speaker 2: Zachary. Listen. Zachary.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Zachary.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Forgive me.
- 3:16Speaker 1: I'm in such a good mood right now. There's a
- 3:19Speaker 1: line at the end of a really wonderful film called
- 3:22Speaker 1: Going in Style that I may have directed. And Alan
- 3:25Speaker 1: Arkin turns to Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman, and he says,
- 3:29Speaker 1: I have this very odd feeling I haven't felt in
- 3:33Speaker 1: a very long time, and I think it might be happiness.
- 3:40Speaker 1: That's funny.
- 3:41Speaker 2: Alan Arkin said it, or Woody Allen said it?
- 3:43Speaker 1: Well, Alan Arkin does a very similar neurotic, dewy voice.
- 3:48Speaker 1: But I don't know. I was dialing in, and I
- 3:52Speaker 1: was feeling something like, Amidst all of the mayhem, amidst
- 3:56Speaker 1: all the COVID and tragedy and fires, I was calling
- 4:01Speaker 1: you my friends and I was feeling a tingle of happiness.
- 4:04Speaker 8: Yay.
- 4:06Speaker 1: And all of you. And all of you who are listening.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Because holy S-word, there are a lot of people listening
- 4:12Speaker 1: to this podcast. Yes, there are. I mean, a lot.
- 4:16Speaker 1: I'm just going to say, I'm not going to talk
- 4:18Speaker 1: specific numbers, but we had a little bit of a
- 4:20Speaker 1: holy shit moment. There are a lot of you listening,
- 4:23Speaker 1: and it's bizarre when you think about talking to that
- 4:25Speaker 1: many people. I think if I thought of it like that,
- 4:29Speaker 1: I would be nervous. I just think of it like
- 4:30Speaker 1: I'm talking to you three.
- 4:32Speaker 4: Amen.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Right. That's how I look at it, too. I find
- 4:35Speaker 2: it very interesting how now things that we say are actually,
- 4:40Speaker 2: you know, people are listening. So if you say, you know.
- 4:45Speaker 2: You know, it does feel like it. It does feel
- 4:47Speaker 2: like it's just us, the four of us talking. And
- 4:49Speaker 2: so now sometimes when I look at my Instagram and
- 4:52Speaker 2: I see what, you know, the comments some people have
- 4:54Speaker 2: to say about some of the things we're talking about,
- 4:57Speaker 2: it's like, wow, okay. So let me just be a
- 4:59Speaker 2: little bit more careful and not so cavalier with some
- 5:02Speaker 2: of the issues I talk about. No, that's bullshit.
- 5:05Speaker 1: We want you to be you. The listeners want you
- 5:06Speaker 1: to be you.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Obviously be me obviously but there's certain way to say
- 5:11Speaker 2: things so people can receive it better you know what
- 5:13Speaker 2: i mean or.
- 5:14Speaker 1: Of course whether you're talking to one person or you're
- 5:17Speaker 1: talking to a million there's ways to say.
- 5:19Speaker 2: It exactly and so you know uh although i.
- 5:23Speaker 1: Did shut shoot down one of your trolls i don't
- 5:25Speaker 1: know if you saw that.
- 5:26Speaker 4: No i did see that oh that was so funny
- 5:27Speaker 4: that was great.
- 5:30Speaker 2: I appreciate my little brother coming and freaking standing up
- 5:33Speaker 2: to the bully.
- 5:34Speaker 1: I have a little bit of pet peeve about people
- 5:36Speaker 1: that come on to social media and be like, I
- 5:38Speaker 1: might have to unfollow or I might have to stop listening.
- 5:41Speaker 4: Like, bro, sounds good.
- 5:42Speaker 2: Go away.
- 5:43Speaker 1: No one cares. I just, it's like if I was
- 5:47Speaker 1: having a barbecue and I was serving those little pigs
- 5:49Speaker 1: in a blanket and you came over and you said,
- 5:52Speaker 1: you know, I'm vegetarian. I might have to leave. I'd
- 5:55Speaker 1: be like, Get the fuck out. I don't care. This
- 6:02Speaker 1: is my barbecue. This is my barbecue. Those are my
- 6:05Speaker 1: fucking pigs in a blanket. Get the fuck out.
- 6:09Speaker 2: And you know what?
- 6:10Speaker 1: Give me my frozen margarita back, bitch.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Right, right, right, right. You take the margarita? You take
- 6:15Speaker 2: the margarita? Everything that they, you would take the margarita? Yeah.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Guess what? Guess what? Guess what?
- 6:20Speaker 1: This shit's free. This shit is free. You have to
- 6:25Speaker 1: listen to some ads, but this shit's free. You're not
- 6:29Speaker 1: paying for anything. Twitter, Instagram, it's all free. Don't come
- 6:32Speaker 1: on and say, I didn't like it when Donald said this.
- 6:34Speaker 1: I might have to stop listening. Come on, buddy. GTFO.
- 6:38Speaker 2: That's fine.
- 6:39Speaker 1: GTFO. See you later. You're supposed to say preach. You're
- 6:45Speaker 1: supposed to say preach.
- 6:47Speaker 2: Well, yeah. I mean, Joelle is in the middle of
- 6:51Speaker 2: getting her face.
- 6:52Speaker 1: By the way, I wish the audience could see this
- 6:54Speaker 1: because it's basically a fucking YouTube video of Joelle's getting
- 6:58Speaker 1: ready routine. As we're talking, she's doing her final touch.
- 7:02Speaker 1: By the way, when the world sees this picture of you, Joelle,
- 7:05Speaker 1: because you look very pretty. I have a feeling that
- 7:07Speaker 1: the dating section of our show for Joelle is going
- 7:10Speaker 1: to blow up.
- 7:11Speaker 2: Ladies and gentlemen, it is time for a very special
- 7:16Speaker 2: moment of the show when we make Joelle's mama happy
- 7:20Speaker 2: and find her a lover.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Dan, we're going to need a little theme moment for
- 7:27Speaker 1: find Joelle a lover.
- 7:29Speaker 4: No problem. I'm going to give everybody out there a
- 7:31Speaker 4: hint real fast if you want to find Joelle a lover.
- 7:33Speaker 4: Here's a big tip. Get her a PS5 pre-order. That's
- 7:37Speaker 4: all you got to do.
- 7:38Speaker 6: I gave my friend Daniel one, too.
- 7:40Speaker 1: If you can get both me and Daniel.
- 7:41Speaker 6: A PS5, I will.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Guarantee you a virtual date. Why are you guys so
- 7:45Speaker 2: up on this PS5? Is it because of the freaking...
- 7:48Speaker 2: Does it come with the headset? Does it come with
- 7:50Speaker 2: the freaking VR?
- 7:54Speaker 6: Because Cyberpunk 77 comes out two days after the release
- 7:57Speaker 6: of the console. I don't want to buy the console
- 8:00Speaker 6: twice or the game twice.
- 8:02Speaker 2: Right.
- 8:02Speaker 6: So if I can get the console before the game
- 8:04Speaker 6: comes out, no matter what, I have to play day one. Like,
- 8:07Speaker 6: it's Cyberpunk. I've been waiting forever for this game. So
- 8:10Speaker 6: my brother agrees with you guys. He's like, you'll get one. Like,
- 8:13Speaker 6: there's going to be a second round of pre-orders.
- 8:14Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 8:14Speaker 4: I want it now.
- 8:15Speaker 6: I want to be secure and safe in.
- 8:17Speaker 4: My decision making. Same.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Same.
- 8:19Speaker 4: I don't want to be refreshing the same Best Buy
- 8:21Speaker 4: page forever. When does it come out?
- 8:23Speaker 1: When does it really come out?
- 8:24Speaker 4: November 12th.
- 8:26Speaker 1: That's a long way away, guys.
- 8:28Speaker 4: It is, but these pre-orders are going to pile up.
- 8:30Speaker 4: They'll start bundling as it gets closer to Christmas and
- 8:32Speaker 4: holiday time. And those will be nice, but it'd be
- 8:34Speaker 4: also nice to get a retail price digital version of
- 8:37Speaker 4: the Sony PS5. By the way, I saw the funniest
- 8:38Speaker 4: meme that I only sent to Donald and Daniel because, well, A,
- 8:42Speaker 4: I don't have your cell phone number, bizarrely. Oh, we've
- 8:45Speaker 4: done that. B, you already told me that it's going
- 8:48Speaker 4: to go green.
- 8:48Speaker 1: So I was like, fuck it anyway. I'm not going
- 8:53Speaker 1: to fuck this up. But we really, the second you
- 8:55Speaker 1: get your iPhone, we need to be on a group.
- 8:56Speaker 1: I don't know why we don't have a phone group
- 8:58Speaker 1: chat going.
- 8:58Speaker 4: I would love that.
- 8:59Speaker 1: Although it might be detrimental because then we'll be chatting
- 9:02Speaker 1: and not saving it all for this. But anyway, I
- 9:06Speaker 1: sent Donald and Daniel a funny meme I saw of
- 9:10Speaker 1: how they don't have a disc tray in the new
- 9:12Speaker 1: PS thing. And Xbox doesn't either, right? Correct. And it
- 9:18Speaker 1: was the Simpsons guy. What's his name? Ralphie?
- 9:20Speaker 4: Yeah, Ralph Wiggum. And it was like.
- 9:23Speaker 1: GameStop right now. And it was Ralph Wiggum going, I'm
- 9:26Speaker 1: in danger.
- 9:28Speaker 2: Sorry, GameStop.
- 9:30Speaker 6: It's just, why do I need all these discs? They
- 9:32Speaker 6: don't resell well unless you keep them for like 40 years.
- 9:35Speaker 4: And that's on GameStop too.
- 9:36Speaker 2: That is the one thing that pisses me off about GameStop.
- 9:41Speaker 2: If you take the disc home, And opened the seal.
- 9:46Speaker 2: Now when you take it and you don't like, let's
- 9:48Speaker 2: say the game is broken or whatever, you don't like
- 9:51Speaker 2: the game, you go to return it, they say that's
- 9:54Speaker 2: six dollars then they go around then they turn around
- 9:58Speaker 2: and sell that shit for damn near the exact price
- 10:01Speaker 2: that it cost to buy it originally it's trash.
- 10:06Speaker 1: So it's gonna be all it's gonna be all download
- 10:08Speaker 1: now then right.
- 10:09Speaker 2: And that is the way it should be that's the
- 10:10Speaker 2: way it should have been this is the way that's
- 10:12Speaker 2: the way that's the way it should be.
- 10:13Speaker 1: But it takes a long time in my brief xbox
- 10:16Speaker 1: career doesn't it take like no it moves.
- 10:18Speaker 2: Faster Once you download it, it moves faster.
- 10:20Speaker 1: No, I'm saying it takes a long time to download
- 10:22Speaker 1: a game.
- 10:23Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 10:25Speaker 5: It can.
- 10:25Speaker 1: I didn't know if I was doing something wrong when
- 10:27Speaker 1: I first downloaded my games.
- 10:29Speaker 4: Oh, no, that's the right thing to do. The big
- 10:31Speaker 4: issue now is how much bigger the games are getting
- 10:33Speaker 4: and how much hard drive space the actual console is
- 10:36Speaker 4: going to come with. Because, like, the standard PlayStation has
- 10:39Speaker 4: 825 gigs of space, and the newest Call of Duty
- 10:42Speaker 4: game is 200 gigabytes. So that's, like, I know that's
- 10:46Speaker 4: not standard for every game, but let's say you have
- 10:48Speaker 4: four games that are like that. You can only have
- 10:50Speaker 4: four games on your PlayStation? That's ridiculous.
- 10:53Speaker 2: I thought Xboxes were like one terabyte and two terabyte Xboxes.
- 10:59Speaker 1: Yeah, probably. For sure.
- 11:00Speaker 4: I'm just talking about the cheapest PlayStation. I'm guessing that
- 11:03Speaker 4: in general, people either get the Xbox Series S, the
- 11:06Speaker 4: cheaper one, or the cheap PlayStation, which is the digital
- 11:09Speaker 4: one for $ 399. What's the difference.
- 11:11Speaker 2: Between those two and the ones that are coming out?
- 11:14Speaker 4: They're the same thing. So there's the Xbox Series S
- 11:17Speaker 4: and the Xbox Series X. There's more differences between those,
- 11:19Speaker 4: but literally the only difference between the two PlayStations is
- 11:22Speaker 4: one comes with a disk drive and one doesn't. Okay.
- 11:27Speaker 2: I'm an Xbox guy. What's the difference between the two?
- 11:32Speaker 4: Do you have a 4K TV?
- 11:34Speaker 2: I do own a 4K TV.
- 11:35Speaker 1: Of course he does.
- 11:35Speaker 4: So then you're going to want to get an Xbox
- 11:37Speaker 4: Series X because the lower grade one does not have
- 11:41Speaker 4: 4K support. That's the big difference. The better one with
- 11:44Speaker 4: a disk drive that's bigger, that's slightly more expensive, does
- 11:47Speaker 4: have 4K support.
- 11:48Speaker 2: What about 3D and virtual?
- 11:52Speaker 4: Currently, there's no VR or 3D stuff for the Xbox.
- 11:56Speaker 4: There's 4K up to 120 frames per second support if
- 12:00Speaker 4: your TV has a high refresh rate. Other than that,
- 12:03Speaker 4: you've got to go PS. I'm broke. The Oculus Quest.
- 12:07Speaker 4: I've been saying it. I'm just saying this thing is
- 12:10Speaker 4: the absolute shit. If you're going to go VR, get
- 12:13Speaker 4: the Oculus.
- 12:14Speaker 2: I am well aware. They even have a new Star
- 12:16Speaker 2: Wars game coming out for the Oculus. When you're blasting,
- 12:19Speaker 2: when you're freaking two-gunning that shit like John Woo.
- 12:24Speaker 1: But don't I need a PC for that?
- 12:25Speaker 4: No, you don't. It's a standalone product. And the Oculus
- 12:28Speaker 4: Quest 2 just got announced. You can get your pre-order
- 12:31Speaker 4: right now. Well, I know they're not sponsoring me yet.
- 12:33Speaker 2: Right?
- 12:34Speaker 1: Come on, Oculus. By the way, I have an Oculus,
- 12:37Speaker 1: but I never used it because the one I have
- 12:39Speaker 1: needed to be set up with a PC. And I
- 12:41Speaker 1: don't know how to do that. And it's one of
- 12:44Speaker 1: those things that just I never.
- 12:45Speaker 2: Got around to.
- 12:46Speaker 4: I totally get that.
- 12:47Speaker 1: But if it's a standalone thing, color me intrigued.
- 12:50Speaker 4: It is standalone. You know what? If you're interested in
- 12:53Speaker 4: VR at all, I just got to say it is
- 12:55Speaker 4: such an incredible experience that it completely... It is one
- 12:58Speaker 4: of those things with every step in terms of how
- 13:00Speaker 4: we interact with technology and video games. It was one
- 13:03Speaker 4: of those things that just completely blew my mind. It
- 13:05Speaker 4: was an instant compliment.
- 13:05Speaker 1: If the good folks at Oculus want to send all
- 13:07Speaker 1: four of us, we'll be glad to talk a whole
- 13:09Speaker 1: lot about it.
- 13:10Speaker 8: Absolutely.
- 13:12Speaker 2: I'll talk about Oculus all day.
- 13:14Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 13:15Speaker 2: And all night, listen, you guys.
- 13:16Speaker 1: Got- We could do a whole one where we're all
- 13:20Speaker 1: in the same virtual world, a whole podcast.
- 13:23Speaker 2: We literally could.
- 13:24Speaker 8: Can you do that?
- 13:24Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 13:25Speaker 4: We can meet up. Yeah, they have what's called big
- 13:26Speaker 4: screen VR, and we can all have the same room.
- 13:28Speaker 1: Wait, hold up.
- 13:28Speaker 2: Let me ask you a question.
- 13:29Speaker 5: Please.
- 13:29Speaker 2: If I'm playing a certain game, and it's like, you
- 13:32Speaker 2: know how when you play PlayStation or Xbox, you go
- 13:36Speaker 2: into these big rooms, and now you guys are all
- 13:38Speaker 2: playing missions together.
- 13:39Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 13:39Speaker 2: Can you do that with Oculus?
- 13:40Speaker 4: There are a couple games that offer multiplayer.
- 13:42Speaker 1: Yes, we got to do that.
- 13:43Speaker 2: Are you kidding me?
- 13:44Speaker 4: I'm not kidding you at all.
- 13:45Speaker 1: We can all meet up in the virtual universe.
- 13:47Speaker 2: Do they have the Ready Player One suits yet that
- 13:49Speaker 2: you can put on and you can feel every touch?
- 13:51Speaker 4: No, they don't have the hat-off suits yet. They don't yet.
- 13:54Speaker 2: Well, call me when they have that.
- 13:55Speaker 6: That's what I want.
- 13:56Speaker 2: I'm waiting for that.
- 13:57Speaker 4: I'll let you know.
- 13:58Speaker 2: Oh, my God, Zach. We could virtual hug.
- 14:00Speaker 1: We could freaking upstairs, downstairs. Oh, I will virtual whop
- 14:03Speaker 1: on you.
- 14:04Speaker 2: Oh, my God. And I would receive that virtual whop.
- 14:07Speaker 1: I'll hit, like, there'll be, like, Control-X for whop to
- 14:10Speaker 1: whop on Donald. And then I'll just whop all over you.
- 14:12Speaker 2: Oh, my God. If it was Control-X, you know how
- 14:15Speaker 2: you just keep pressing the X button over and over
- 14:17Speaker 2: and over and over again? Remember that game Decathlon where
- 14:20Speaker 2: you had to press it really fast to make things run?
- 14:22Speaker 2: There was a computer game. I would do that to you.
- 14:24Speaker 1: When I was in college, there was a computer game
- 14:26Speaker 1: where it was a sex game. And to have sex,
- 14:29Speaker 1: you moved the mouse really fast.
- 14:31Speaker 2: Was it called Leisure Suit Larry and the Land of
- 14:33Speaker 2: Lounge Lizards?
- 14:34Speaker 1: No, although I did love those games.
- 14:35Speaker 2: Sierra.
- 14:36Speaker 1: Did you guys play Sierra games when you were kids?
- 14:39Speaker 9: Yeah, absolutely, dude.
- 14:40Speaker 4: Sierra was amazing.
- 14:41Speaker 1: Oh, my God. Sierra games were amazing. Police Quest.
- 14:45Speaker 8: Yeah. Space Quest.
- 14:47Speaker 2: Space Quest.
- 14:48Speaker 1: And by the way, for hints, they used to have
- 14:50Speaker 1: a hotline you have to call because I would be
- 14:52Speaker 1: so stuck. And my parents would be like, what the
- 14:56Speaker 1: fuck are you doing? What are these charges? But I
- 14:58Speaker 1: was addicted to a drug. I'd be like, make sure
- 15:00Speaker 1: no one's looking. And then I'd call the hotline. And
- 15:04Speaker 1: you would have to go. For those of you who
- 15:05Speaker 1: are young, you're probably like, what the fuck is he
- 15:07Speaker 1: talking about? This is way before the internet and the
- 15:10Speaker 1: computers are what they are. You'd have to go on
- 15:12Speaker 1: the hotline and be like, find the scene where you
- 15:14Speaker 1: were lost. And it would give you the clue. And
- 15:17Speaker 1: it was charging you some astronomical rate to get the hint.
- 15:20Speaker 2: Like 99 cents a second.
- 15:21Speaker 1: Whatever it was. And I would be on there and
- 15:23Speaker 1: be like, I'm sorry, mom. I'm like, like, like out loud,
- 15:26Speaker 1: even though she wasn't in the room, I'm like, I'm
- 15:27Speaker 1: gotta do this. I'm lost in police quest. But anyway,
- 15:32Speaker 1: this sex game, this is like 90, late nineties. And
- 15:36Speaker 1: it was, um, and the fact, and you're having sex
- 15:39Speaker 1: and the faster you move the mouse, you're having sex.
- 15:41Speaker 1: And I had this born again, Christian roommate who wasn't
- 15:44Speaker 1: in the room in our, in my dorm room. and
- 15:47Speaker 1: he literally is out of a movie. He opened the door,
- 15:49Speaker 1: and I'm just jamming this mouse, trying to win, because
- 15:52Speaker 1: you win when the computer people have an orgasm. And literally,
- 15:57Speaker 1: he opens the door to show his very religious, nice
- 16:01Speaker 1: girlfriend the room, and I'm in there just jamming my mouse,
- 16:05Speaker 1: just jamming it. And I turn around, just straight out
- 16:08Speaker 1: of a movie, and I'm frantically trying to get out
- 16:10Speaker 1: of the game, and all you hear is like, ah!
- 16:14Speaker 1: And I'm like, escape, escape, escape. And literally out of
- 16:18Speaker 1: the movie, he's like, we'll come back.
- 16:20Speaker 4: We'll come back.
- 16:23Speaker 2: Later.
- 16:23Speaker 8: Oh, no.
- 16:23Speaker 6: That was so awkward.
- 16:25Speaker 2: Do you still talk to that roommate, Zach? No, no.
- 16:30Speaker 4: I'm shocked.
- 16:31Speaker 2: He said you must.
- 16:33Speaker 1: He was a very nice guy, but we just weren't
- 16:35Speaker 1: on the same page.
- 16:37Speaker 4: Sounds like it.
- 16:38Speaker 1: Because, you know, the whole, he believed that I was
- 16:42Speaker 1: going to go to hell. And so it was kind
- 16:43Speaker 1: of hard to get along.
- 16:44Speaker 6: It's hard to start a relationship at that point.
- 16:46Speaker 1: It's hard to get along, really.
- 16:48Speaker 2: Anytime another human being actually says to you, you're going
- 16:52Speaker 2: to go to hell, it's kind of hard to freaking continue.
- 16:55Speaker 1: Where do you go from there? I once dated a
- 16:57Speaker 1: born-again Christian woman, and she was great. But I said
- 17:00Speaker 1: to her, kind of trying to make a joke, I said,
- 17:02Speaker 1: I mean, how can this really go anywhere? I mean,
- 17:05Speaker 1: you think I'm going to hell. And I said, what
- 17:08Speaker 1: can I say? I hope you're wrong. And the most
- 17:10Speaker 1: sincere face, she went, I hope I am too.
- 17:15Speaker 6: Abort mission.
- 17:16Speaker 1: Get out of there. And I was like, escape, escape.
- 17:20Speaker 2: We should probably get into the show. We should probably
- 17:27Speaker 2: get into the show.
- 17:27Speaker 1: Count us in, Donald. Count us in.
- 17:29Speaker 2: Five, six, seven, eight.
- 17:35Speaker 8: I got to say something.
- 17:36Speaker 1: This is a fucking amazing episode.
- 17:39Speaker 8: I laughed a lot.
- 17:41Speaker 1: Once again.
- 17:43Speaker 2: I laughed my ass off. I texted Bill.
- 17:47Speaker 8: I said.
- 18:02Speaker 1: I said, Bill, we are at 220, what is it, 221, 222? 221, yep.
- 18:07Speaker 1: I said, we are at 221, and we are all
- 18:11Speaker 1: in the groove. This episode is, I think, the best
- 18:14Speaker 1: of season two.
- 18:16Speaker 2: You think so?
- 18:16Speaker 1: I'm going to go out and say it.
- 18:18Speaker 2: I really did enjoy this episode.
- 18:19Speaker 1: It's got a little bit of everything. It's got heart
- 18:22Speaker 1: with Carla's, with Carla. By the way, I was thinking
- 18:26Speaker 1: as I was dialing in, I have no idea what
- 18:27Speaker 1: percentage of the audience is actually watching the show along
- 18:30Speaker 1: with it. Or just listening. And we have no way
- 18:34Speaker 1: to measure that. But so anyway, that's irrelevant. It has
- 18:40Speaker 1: the Judy's, Carla's mom's death and the wedding that they're
- 18:46Speaker 1: about to have in the hospital with Turk. So it's
- 18:48Speaker 1: got heart. But then it's got so much funny stuff.
- 18:51Speaker 1: It's got a whole lot of sexy stuff with Amy Smart.
- 18:55Speaker 1: there's just some hilarious stuff. I mean, that has some
- 18:58Speaker 1: of the funniest stuff of season two in it. And
- 19:00Speaker 1: I just, I don't know. I just, I had one
- 19:01Speaker 1: of these moments like, I think this is the best
- 19:02Speaker 1: episode of season two.
- 19:04Speaker 2: Okay. Well, let's get into the recap.
- 19:06Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 19:08Speaker 2: I want to call it the recap. But then, you
- 19:11Speaker 2: know what? Then Daniel has to make up all of
- 19:12Speaker 2: these damn theme songs and stuff like that.
- 19:14Speaker 4: Oh, I don't mind.
- 19:15Speaker 2: Whatever. Okay, well, then let's get into the recap.
- 19:19Speaker 1: Daniel is a DJ. I'm sure that he doesn't mind
- 19:22Speaker 1: taking a few minutes and making up a little.
- 19:25Speaker 4: No problem.
- 19:26Speaker 1: Here we go. And go.
- 19:28Speaker 2: Tasty coma wife is back and she is naughty.
- 19:31Speaker 6: Yes, she is.
- 19:32Speaker 2: Carlos' mom dies prompting her to want to get married ASAP.
- 19:35Speaker 2: Elliot admits she's already bought herself a wedding dress. Plus,
- 19:39Speaker 2: Ted the lawyer and Dr. Kelso want everyone to take
- 19:41Speaker 2: it easy on how they deliver information to patients. Sometimes
- 19:45Speaker 2: because of pressure and or angst, We make decisions without
- 19:48Speaker 2: using our better judgment. This usually causes more pain and misery,
- 19:52Speaker 2: not just for us, but for others too. If we're lucky,
- 19:55Speaker 2: we have people in our lives who care about us
- 19:57Speaker 2: enough to tell us like it is. But in the end,
- 20:00Speaker 2: you have to have the awareness and the ability to accept, receive,
- 20:07Speaker 2: You have to have the ability and the awareness to
- 20:10Speaker 2: accept and receive the information, even if it's not what
- 20:13Speaker 2: you want to hear. Amen. Well said.
- 20:17Speaker 4: Amen.
- 20:17Speaker 1: Well said. Maybe we should just change it to you
- 20:20Speaker 1: do it in 47 seconds.
- 20:21Speaker 2: Okay, that's fine. Well, you're going to cut the part
- 20:23Speaker 2: where I mess up, right?
- 20:25Speaker 1: Oh, yeah. No, I think we should leave it.
- 20:26Speaker 2: Fuck you. That doesn't make sense.
- 20:29Speaker 1: We like to show the audience all the seams.
- 20:31Speaker 8: No.
- 20:33Speaker 2: No, well said.
- 20:34Speaker 1: I got to tell you, Donald. It's Donald, right? I
- 20:37Speaker 1: got to tell you, what an episode.
- 20:39Speaker 2: What an episode.
- 20:40Speaker 1: What an episode. And I mean, as a straight person,
- 20:45Speaker 1: I must say that Amy Smart in lingerie mounting me
- 20:51Speaker 1: is a piece of art.
- 20:53Speaker 2: Yeah. You know, when watching this, this is one of
- 20:56Speaker 2: those episodes where I was like, this motherfucker.
- 20:59Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 21:01Speaker 1: I was even like this motherfucker. I'm watching it going,
- 21:04Speaker 1: what a job. What a job. What a job. Being
- 21:07Speaker 1: paid extraordinarily well to have Amy Smart mount you in lingerie.
- 21:10Speaker 2: Can't beat that with a baseball bat.
- 21:13Speaker 1: Although I'm so neurotic that when she was doing that,
- 21:15Speaker 1: I was like looking at the scar I have on
- 21:18Speaker 1: my chin. You know, I'm tied up. JD is tied
- 21:21Speaker 1: up on the bed and she's in a very sexy
- 21:24Speaker 1: outfit and she's mounting me. And all I could see
- 21:28Speaker 1: was the scar on my chin.
- 21:31Speaker 2: I think that's most actors when they watch themselves.
- 21:34Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 21:36Speaker 2: You know, I did a movie with a very wonderful actress.
- 21:42Speaker 2: She actually is one of the few people in the
- 21:44Speaker 2: world to have an EGOT. Her name is Whoopi Goldberg. Oh, yeah.
- 21:48Speaker 1: Thunderous applause for Whoopi. We love Whoopi here at the show.
- 21:52Speaker 2: I once told her, I was like, you know, I loved,
- 21:57Speaker 2: all of the movies you made when I was growing up. Like,
- 22:00Speaker 2: a lot of what you did shaped how I am now.
- 22:04Speaker 2: You know what I mean? Me wanting to be an
- 22:06Speaker 2: actor and everything like that. You made the type of
- 22:07Speaker 2: movies I wanted to be in. She said it's funny,
- 22:10Speaker 2: because when I look at that stuff, she's like, thank
- 22:12Speaker 2: you very much, first of all. But when I look
- 22:14Speaker 2: at that stuff, what I see is, oh, I think
- 22:18Speaker 2: I looked... I don't like the way I looked in
- 22:20Speaker 2: that scene, or, you know, I don't... I was on
- 22:25Speaker 2: my period that day or whatever it is. You know
- 22:27Speaker 2: what I mean? And you're exactly right. You're in a
- 22:31Speaker 2: scene with the lovely Amy Smart. You guys have great
- 22:34Speaker 2: chemistry together. The scene works, obviously. And all you can
- 22:40Speaker 2: think about is, oh, I don't like the scar on
- 22:42Speaker 2: my chin.
- 22:42Speaker 1: Well, I think also I just feel like next to
- 22:44Speaker 1: Amy Smart, it was like Beauty and the Beast. I
- 22:49Speaker 1: just felt very unattractive.
- 22:51Speaker 2: I disagree with you wholeheartedly.
- 22:53Speaker 1: Well, thank you. No, I'm saying it's more of what
- 22:55Speaker 1: you're saying what Whoopi said. It's like, you know, I'm
- 22:58Speaker 1: not usually obsessed with that stuff. When I watch myself back,
- 23:02Speaker 1: whether it's something I'm directing or I'm in someone else's thing,
- 23:04Speaker 1: I'm like, okay, it is what it is. But there's
- 23:06Speaker 1: times when I get, you know, like any human being going, oh,
- 23:10Speaker 1: what's that thing on my fucking chin? Oh, who was
- 23:12Speaker 1: doing my hair that day? What the hell happened?
- 23:14Speaker 2: I'm like, yeah, well, yeah. I understand that. You know.
- 23:17Speaker 2: I don't understand the hair part because my hair is
- 23:19Speaker 2: usually the same and everything. Anyway, yo, holy shit. Tasty
- 23:23Speaker 2: Coma Wife is naughty.
- 23:24Speaker 1: Yeah, Tasty Coma Wife is naughty.
- 23:24Speaker 2: She got you tied up. Got you tied up.
- 23:28Speaker 1: She likes drama and she likes naughty shit. She wants
- 23:31Speaker 1: to get into it.
- 23:32Speaker 2: She wants you to... She's the type of person that's like,
- 23:36Speaker 2: spank me harder, Demi.
- 23:38Speaker 1: I love how down Amy was with all this.
- 23:40Speaker 2: She was so.
- 23:41Speaker 1: First of all, she's very funny in this. And there's
- 23:43Speaker 1: one moment later where she... She does this move I've
- 23:45Speaker 1: never even seen before. She licks both of her fingers.
- 23:48Speaker 2: Did you see that? Yeah, and then she rubs the air.
- 23:50Speaker 2: It's like she grabs the air with her.
- 23:52Speaker 1: I almost thought in my brain, I thought, maybe she
- 23:55Speaker 1: was going to do a lick and then touch her nipples.
- 23:58Speaker 1: And then she went, oh, no, it's primetime TV. Let
- 24:01Speaker 1: me just grab the air.
- 24:03Speaker 2: Maybe.
- 24:06Speaker 1: I don't know what she was up to, but it
- 24:08Speaker 1: was delicious. It was delicious. And it was very funny.
- 24:12Speaker 1: And I don't know. I'm here to say, if you're
- 24:16Speaker 1: Amy's agent, however much she's working, she should be working
- 24:19Speaker 1: more because she is funny and talented. And she did
- 24:23Speaker 1: a great job. I wish, J.D., there were more episodes.
- 24:26Speaker 1: But I think this is the last one. I keep
- 24:28Speaker 1: saying that.
- 24:28Speaker 2: I'm not sure. I didn't realize she'd done this.
- 24:30Speaker 1: This is the last one. This next episode is all
- 24:32Speaker 1: about Ryan Reynolds.
- 24:34Speaker 2: I didn't realize she had done so many episodes, dude.
- 24:38Speaker 2: I didn't know that.
- 24:39Speaker 1: She's great.
- 24:40Speaker 2: She's amazing. She's great.
- 24:41Speaker 1: How about 58 seconds in, I get an Elliot's there,
- 24:44Speaker 1: and I've got rope burns on my wrist.
- 24:47Speaker 5: Yes.
- 24:47Speaker 1: And Elliot's looking like, what the hell is that? And
- 24:49Speaker 1: I go, it's my new watch band. It's made out
- 24:52Speaker 1: of cat.
- 25:00Speaker 2: It's so quick on your toes. I know, so quick.
- 25:03Speaker 1: And then, oh my God, how about us all laughing
- 25:05Speaker 1: at Wang? Vera Wang.
- 25:07Speaker 2: Did you laugh? Well, when they said it, did you
- 25:09Speaker 2: not laugh?
- 25:10Speaker 1: Yeah, because Wang is a funny word.
- 25:11Speaker 2: I'm sorry. It's funny.
- 25:12Speaker 1: It is. I'm sorry. Wang is a funny euphemism for penis.
- 25:15Speaker 2: Yes, it is.
- 25:16Speaker 1: But I just love... I love that we're like these
- 25:19Speaker 1: doctors and we're laughing at the word wang. Like... And
- 25:22Speaker 1: I love the laugh.
- 25:22Speaker 2: It's like... Like somebody can't hear that. You know what
- 25:29Speaker 2: I mean?
- 25:30Speaker 8: I feel like.
- 25:30Speaker 1: I don't know about you other 45 and 46-year-olds listening,
- 25:34Speaker 1: but I will still laugh at the word wang. I'm sorry.
- 25:36Speaker 1: I'm sorry if I'm too immature.
- 25:39Speaker 2: Yeah. There's nothing wrong with laughing at wang.
- 25:43Speaker 1: Wang's funny.
- 25:43Speaker 2: Wang's funny, dude. Wang's funny. It's just....
- 25:50Speaker 1: Todd's first Air 5. I don't know how many Air
- 25:52Speaker 1: 5s there are in the whole series, but Todd delivers
- 25:55Speaker 1: his very first Air 5 here.
- 25:57Speaker 2: Do you know this because of Scrubs Wiki?
- 25:59Speaker 1: No, I didn't. I just know that I hadn't seen
- 26:01Speaker 1: one before.
- 26:01Speaker 2: Oh, okay. Maybe this is a question. Can we ask
- 26:05Speaker 2: Scrubs Wiki, or is this a problem?
- 26:08Speaker 1: No, I mean, we haven't used him in a while,
- 26:09Speaker 1: and we did buy a lot of attention from him
- 26:12Speaker 1: with the Funko Pops.
- 26:13Speaker 2: So let's ask him right now.
- 26:14Speaker 1: So Trevor.
- 26:16Speaker 1: How are you? I hope you're enjoying the Funko Pops.
- 26:19Speaker 1: I hope they haven't been sold on eBay. I think
- 26:21Speaker 1: this is the very first time that Todd ever air
- 26:24Speaker 1: fives anyone. Is that true?
- 26:27Speaker 2: Trevor, I have one last question.
- 26:28Speaker 1: Go ahead.
- 26:28Speaker 2: I had to be that guy.
- 26:30Speaker 1: Go ahead.
- 26:30Speaker 2: But is there a number, a count on how many
- 26:33Speaker 2: times Todd air fives? Is that something that you guys,
- 26:37Speaker 2: that can be found on Scrubs Wiki?
- 26:39Speaker 5: Hi, Zach and Donald. The Funko Pops and I are
- 26:41Speaker 5: doing well here in Colorado. Todd has had many unrequited fives,
- 26:45Speaker 5: but this is the first air five. Over the series,
- 26:48Speaker 5: Todd names 51 different fives, and yes, all of them
- 26:51Speaker 5: are named on Scrubs Wiki. This is the only standard
- 26:54Speaker 5: air five, but he gives a skeptical air five in
- 26:57Speaker 5: season six and a fairy five in My Princess.
- 27:00Speaker 1: Thank you, Trevor. Thank you, Trevor. It feels like you're
- 27:03Speaker 1: giving him a large assignment, but maybe Trevor will go
- 27:05Speaker 1: for it. We did give him signed Funko Pops. He
- 27:09Speaker 1: has the only JD signed Funko Pop in existence.
- 27:12Speaker 2: It's priceless.
- 27:13Speaker 1: Priceless. At least a G, G and a half.
- 27:18Speaker 2: You get a G and a half for that shit, dude.
- 27:19Speaker 1: So not priceless. Priceful? There's a price.
- 27:25Speaker 2: But you make the price, is.
- 27:27Speaker 1: What I'm trying to say. All right, this janitor, this
- 27:29Speaker 1: shorts thing, I've said before, is the funniest thing to me.
- 27:34Speaker 1: And I've said this before, so sorry, I'm repeating myself.
- 27:37Speaker 1: But if you look at the season two blooper reel
- 27:39Speaker 1: on YouTube, I could not get through this moment. I
- 27:42Speaker 1: just thought Neil... Everything related to Neil and shorts, I
- 27:45Speaker 1: just thought was so funny. And I didn't know, I'd
- 27:49Speaker 1: forgotten that JD put the shorts on multiple times. All
- 27:55Speaker 1: I remembered was the end moment where I'm like, look,
- 27:58Speaker 1: I'm a doctor. I can't wear shorts to work. And
- 28:00Speaker 1: he says the beloved line, the good Lord didn't bless
- 28:04Speaker 1: my wife with all her fingers. She only has pointer
- 28:08Speaker 1: and thumb pinky. And then he does a little gesture.
- 28:14Speaker 1: that's the part where I was just cracking up laughing
- 28:17Speaker 1: but um but yeah JD wears those scrub short shorts
- 28:20Speaker 1: multiple times and um and they're dirty because they.
- 28:23Speaker 2: And they get dirty right because he throws them in
- 28:25Speaker 2: the trash.
- 28:26Speaker 1: He throws them in the dumpster and then he finds
- 28:29Speaker 1: the janitor finds him and he goes mentirosa liar why
- 28:33Speaker 1: is the janitor all of a sudden speaking Spanish in
- 28:35Speaker 1: a dumpster we don't know um The other thing I
- 28:39Speaker 1: had forgotten, which is so fucking funny, at 10 minutes,
- 28:42Speaker 1: and he goes, I thought we were shorts buddies. You
- 28:45Speaker 1: know the schedule. Monday, Tuesday, shorts. Wednesday, we wash them. Thursday, Friday, shorts. Weekends, optional.
- 28:51Speaker 1: I'll be wearing shorts.
- 28:57Speaker 4: I love it.
- 28:59Speaker 2: I laughed at a couple of, I laughed, well, okay,
- 29:01Speaker 2: so I laughed at the whole janitor story, but I
- 29:03Speaker 2: also laughed at the Ted-Doug storyline.
- 29:07Speaker 8: Yes.
- 29:07Speaker 2: Which had me rolling.
- 29:08Speaker 5: Yep.
- 29:09Speaker 2: Somehow Ted and Doug have now bonded over a week.
- 29:13Speaker 2: They have a weekend bike ride that they go on
- 29:16Speaker 2: every weekend. This episode. Where they ride bikes and vent
- 29:20Speaker 2: to each other about how much they hate Dr. Jules.
- 29:24Speaker 1: Yeah. By the way, we hear about a few activities
- 29:27Speaker 1: outside of the hospital in this episode. There's also a nurse.
- 29:30Speaker 2: Roberts above ground.
- 29:33Speaker 1: By the way, and Ted specifies her above ground pool party.
- 29:38Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 29:39Speaker 2: We're and but. But that's where Dr. Cox, that's the
- 29:41Speaker 2: last time Dr. Cox got violent.
- 29:43Speaker 1: Yeah, he says, I wrote it down because it's so funny.
- 29:45Speaker 1: Cox says, I might just rip off that tie off
- 29:48Speaker 1: your neck and jam it down your esophagus. And Ted goes,
- 29:51Speaker 1: I think you proved at Nurse Roberts above ground pool
- 29:53Speaker 1: party that that doesn't solve anything. Oh my God. This
- 30:01Speaker 1: episode had me rolling. I had so many laugh out
- 30:03Speaker 1: loud moments. Sam, fucking Sam Lloyd is hilarious.
- 30:06Speaker 2: He's hilarious in this episode. And then finally at the
- 30:08Speaker 2: end when he's like, when we're all there, everybody's listing
- 30:11Speaker 2: their problems and he goes, I'm sterile.
- 30:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 30:13Speaker 2: And they look at him and he's like, I think
- 30:15Speaker 2: it's because of the bike ride.
- 30:17Speaker 1: No, but before he goes, my, my, uh, what does
- 30:19Speaker 1: he say? My, my swimmers, my, my little guy circles.
- 30:25Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 30:25Speaker 1: Scrubs. Wiki said, uh, One of the things it said
- 30:28Speaker 1: is this is the first episode where the lawyer admits
- 30:31Speaker 1: that he's sterile.
- 30:35Speaker 2: Fred, rerun Barry. Hold up. Wait, wait.
- 30:36Speaker 1: Don't get to Fred yet.
- 30:38Speaker 2: Okay.
- 30:38Speaker 1: We got to talk about the goosebumps I had when
- 30:41Speaker 1: Judy Reyes just drops. Her mom died.
- 30:45Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 30:46Speaker 1: And we always say this, but we'll say it again.
- 30:48Speaker 1: Judy Reyes is such a good actress and she brings
- 30:52Speaker 1: the heart and the Bill always used to say, she
- 30:57Speaker 1: grounds the show. You and I can get so silly,
- 30:59Speaker 1: and some of the ancillary characters can get so silly,
- 31:02Speaker 1: but then there's always Carla who's grounding it. And this
- 31:05Speaker 1: show proves that, this episode, because there we are being
- 31:08Speaker 1: as silly as ever. I mean, literally, we're about to
- 31:10Speaker 1: talk about Fred Rerunberry doing dances, and there's Carla, and
- 31:15Speaker 1: she just goes, my mom died. And everyone just drops
- 31:19Speaker 1: into reality. And I was just very moved. probably because
- 31:23Speaker 1: there's been a lot of death in my life and
- 31:25Speaker 1: friendship circling around people who need love. But the looks
- 31:29Speaker 1: on all of our faces when we just kind of
- 31:31Speaker 1: like looked at her and dropped in with her and
- 31:34Speaker 1: gave her love. And I don't know, I just found
- 31:37Speaker 1: that was very, I got goosebumps and I thought it
- 31:38Speaker 1: was just very, it just showed how quickly the show
- 31:41Speaker 1: can go from Fred Berry dancing to having goosebumps and
- 31:45Speaker 1: tears in your eyes. You know what I mean?
- 31:46Speaker 5: Oh, absolutely.
- 31:47Speaker 2: Absolutely. I was very impressed with Turk also in this
- 31:51Speaker 2: episode and how he was selfless about everything. I kept
- 31:54Speaker 2: waiting for him to make a joke every time he
- 31:56Speaker 2: was comforting her.
- 31:57Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 31:58Speaker 2: You know what I mean? And he never does. He
- 32:03Speaker 2: was always very supportive of Carla and her loss. And
- 32:09Speaker 2: that was very impressive, especially on a show where we're always.
- 32:15Speaker 2: Telling jokes. We took this part of the show very seriously.
- 32:18Speaker 1: Yeah, and Turk is like the dream fiancé boyfriend in
- 32:23Speaker 1: that he's, I don't know, he's just saying all the right,
- 32:25Speaker 1: you know, Turk who can often put his foot in
- 32:27Speaker 1: his mouth is saying all the things anyone who just
- 32:30Speaker 1: lost their mom would want to be said. He says
- 32:33Speaker 1: that beautiful thing about let me be there to fill
- 32:36Speaker 1: up some of the bowl that she, I forgot the
- 32:38Speaker 1: wording of it, but that was beautifully written and well delivered.
- 32:42Speaker 1: Your acting is really good in this episode.
- 32:43Speaker 2: Oh, you are such a sweetheart. Go on.
- 32:45Speaker 1: But Judy Ray is, just sorry, because she has more
- 32:48Speaker 1: emotion to do than you, just a few times.
- 32:51Speaker 2: Amazing.
- 32:51Speaker 1: Fucking Judy. Judy, Judy, Judy.
- 32:54Speaker 2: Crushed.
- 32:55Speaker 1: All right, Fred Barry, for those of you who don't know,
- 32:58Speaker 1: was the star of a show called What's Happening.
- 33:00Speaker 3: Hey, Raj!
- 33:02Speaker 8: Hey, Raj!
- 33:03Speaker 2: Hey, hey, hey!
- 33:05Speaker 1: And Me and Donald's Childhood was a seminal sitcom about
- 33:10Speaker 1: a family living... Where did they live?
- 33:13Speaker 5: Oh, shit.
- 33:14Speaker 2: Oh, wow.
- 33:14Speaker 1: Joelle, we're going to put you to work.
- 33:15Speaker 2: I want to say it was Philadelphia.
- 33:18Speaker 1: I don't remember what city it was, but they didn't
- 33:20Speaker 1: have much money, and they were friends, and it was
- 33:23Speaker 1: about their lives... And as a white kid growing up
- 33:27Speaker 1: in the suburbs, it, like good times, opened my eyes
- 33:31Speaker 1: to a world I didn't have any connection to or
- 33:34Speaker 1: know anything about in a hysterical way. And I loved
- 33:38Speaker 1: what's happening, dude. It was one of my favorite shows.
- 33:40Speaker 2: I used to laugh so hard.
- 33:41Speaker 5: St.
- 33:41Speaker 2: Louis. St. Louis, thank you. I used to laugh so hard.
- 33:47Speaker 2: There are so many parts of the show that I
- 33:49Speaker 2: remember still to this day. When they go to the
- 33:52Speaker 2: Doobie Brothers concert and they bootleg it, With one of
- 33:56Speaker 2: those tape decks that you use to record notes with.
- 34:00Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying? We're sitting in the concert
- 34:03Speaker 2: with one of those things to try. That one, freaking
- 34:07Speaker 2: Dwayne singing, comma, comma, comma, comma, comma, comma. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 34:16Speaker 2: Freaking rerun doing the dance at the talent show and
- 34:18Speaker 2: winning it. And then after that, always dancing. Wait, we
- 34:21Speaker 2: have a correction. Roger's laugh. We have a correction.
- 34:24Speaker 1: There's a correction from Joelle. Never mind. They lived in Watts,
- 34:27Speaker 1: Los Angeles.
- 34:28Speaker 2: Oh, shit. Let's correct that.
- 34:32Speaker 1: Yeah. They lived in Watts. That's a big difference. I
- 34:35Speaker 1: remember a really funny episode where... Was it Rerun who
- 34:39Speaker 1: got a credit card? And he didn't really understand the ramifications.
- 34:44Speaker 1: And as I recall, Rerun just got a... Someone got
- 34:47Speaker 1: to him with a credit card and he just started
- 34:48Speaker 1: buying tons of shit. And they all came over. And Rerun,
- 34:51Speaker 1: who had no money, these guys all... had no money
- 34:54Speaker 1: and the house was full of stuff Rerun had bought
- 34:59Speaker 1: with his credit card. And I just remember, even though
- 35:02Speaker 1: God knows how many years ago it was, I remember
- 35:04Speaker 1: there was a scuba tank.
- 35:07Speaker 8: In the room.
- 35:08Speaker 1: So amongst the things he had gone crazy with his
- 35:10Speaker 1: credit card, he bought a scuba tank.
- 35:12Speaker 2: But that's not all he bought. Remember, he bought the
- 35:14Speaker 2: juicer also. And he juiced bologna. And at the end,
- 35:20Speaker 2: he had juiced bologna in a bag or something like that.
- 35:22Speaker 1: We should do a special episode of Fake Doctors, Real
- 35:25Speaker 1: Friends where we do a rewatch of a What's Happening episode.
- 35:28Speaker 2: Oh, man, that'd be great. Or Sanford and Son. Or
- 35:31Speaker 2: Sanford and Son.
- 35:32Speaker 1: Yeah, but I didn't watch Sanford in the Sun. That
- 35:34Speaker 1: was a little bit earlier in terms of the time.
- 35:37Speaker 1: I didn't watch that as much. But what's happening was
- 35:40Speaker 1: the sweet spot for me. I watched every episode. Remember
- 35:43Speaker 1: when Raj was a nude male model for people that
- 35:47Speaker 1: were like sketching in a class?
- 35:48Speaker 2: Oh, in the art class.
- 35:49Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 35:50Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 35:51Speaker 1: And there was Shirley.
- 35:52Speaker 2: Shirley. Yeah. Shirley. And Dee, the sister.
- 35:54Speaker 1: Dee.
- 35:55Speaker 2: Ooh, Raj.
- 35:56Speaker 1: I'm telling you.
- 35:56Speaker 3: Mama.
- 35:56Speaker 2: I'm going to tell Mama.
- 35:58Speaker 1: Right. And Mama was amazing. I forgot the actress's name
- 36:01Speaker 1: who played her. She was incredible. Will you find that
- 36:04Speaker 1: out for me, please? What a cast. So if you've
- 36:07Speaker 1: never heard of it, I don't know. Go on YouTube.
- 36:09Speaker 1: Watch a clip. Maybe it won't translate now because it's old.
- 36:12Speaker 1: But I loved it. Anyway.
- 36:14Speaker 2: So did I.
- 36:15Speaker 1: So Fred Berry had these hilarious dances he would do.
- 36:20Speaker 1: And what you see in this episode is this. So J.D.
- 36:24Speaker 1: 's fantasy, they tease that it's going to be a
- 36:28Speaker 1: threesome because J.D. says, oh, my God, he's looking at
- 36:31Speaker 1: Amy Smart and Sarah Chalk together. He goes, I can't imagine.
- 36:35Speaker 1: Seeing these two together, you can only imagine what I'm thinking.
- 36:38Speaker 1: And you think it's going to be something sexual. And
- 36:39Speaker 1: it's Amy Smart and Sarah Chalk with Fred Berry in
- 36:43Speaker 1: his outfit, in matching outfits, doing his famous rerun dance.
- 36:48Speaker 1: So that was really funny. And then we cut later
- 36:51Speaker 1: to what I imagine your bachelor party is going to be.
- 36:54Speaker 1: And it's all of us dancing. And a lot of
- 36:56Speaker 1: our crew guys are in there, including Michael Spiller, who
- 36:58Speaker 1: directed this episode, is in there. I saw my stand in,
- 37:02Speaker 1: Scott Rabideau. Was Deontay in there?
- 37:04Speaker 2: Deontay was definitely in there.
- 37:06Speaker 1: Yeah, I think Franklin Godbetter, our AD.
- 37:08Speaker 2: Godbetter, one of our ADs. Yeah. A lot of the
- 37:11Speaker 2: people that worked in the film department or in the
- 37:16Speaker 2: lab with editing and stuff like that, they were down there.
- 37:19Speaker 1: So it was a good opportunity for a lot of
- 37:21Speaker 1: people to be– I guess it was all men because
- 37:23Speaker 1: it was supposed to be the bachelor party. So we
- 37:24Speaker 1: all got to do the rerun dance with Fred Berry,
- 37:27Speaker 1: which was really cool.
- 37:28Speaker 2: And we all got to wear the costume too, which
- 37:30Speaker 2: was great also.
- 37:31Speaker 8: Oh, man.
- 37:31Speaker 2: With the fedora and everything.
- 37:33Speaker 1: But, I mean, if you had told little Zach that
- 37:35Speaker 1: he was going to A– be doing the rerun dance
- 37:40Speaker 1: with rerun one day. The same week that Amy Smart
- 37:44Speaker 1: and lingerie would mount him. Tears, tears to.
- 37:48Speaker 2: His young eyes. Dreams do come true.
- 37:55Speaker 1: All right, we've got to go to break. We've got
- 37:56Speaker 1: to go to break. Thank you all for being here.
- 37:58Speaker 1: We love you.
- 37:59Speaker 2: Yeah, we're so excited that we get to do this
- 38:01Speaker 2: for you guys, man. And your appreciation of this show
- 38:05Speaker 2: is well received. We appreciate you 100%. Yes. So on
- 38:08Speaker 2: that note, please listen to some people selling you stuff.
- 38:11Speaker 1: We'll be right back.
- 38:12Speaker 2: Scrubs Rewatch Show with Zach and Donald.
- 38:17Speaker 8: And we're back!
- 38:25Speaker 2: Hey, guys. I'm sorry, guys.
- 38:26Speaker 4: Hold on. Pause for a second.
- 38:27Speaker 2: Sorry.
- 38:27Speaker 4: Some shit's fucking up on my computer.
- 38:28Speaker 1: Hold on.
- 38:29Speaker 4: One second.
- 38:29Speaker 5: Hold on.
- 38:29Speaker 2: Oh, Jesus. We're going to see your phone.
- 38:32Speaker 9: Interrupting the Interruptive. Playing music for the Interruptive. All right.
- 38:36Speaker 2: Here we go.
- 38:37Speaker 3: I hope you do a little music for Interrupting Bill.
- 38:39Speaker 3: I'm interrupting the Interrupting Bill.
- 38:40Speaker 4: Five, six, seven, eight.
- 38:41Speaker 2: No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Turn that shit off.
- 38:46Speaker 3: So I just wanted to get that over with quick.
- 38:49Speaker 3: I wanted to interrupt the Interrupting Bill with five, six, seven, eight.
- 38:52Speaker 3: I mean, it's not a well thought out one, but.
- 38:54Speaker 3: Now we're back to the other.
- 38:56Speaker 9: Interrupting Bill.
- 38:59Speaker 8: He may have his own theme song.
- 39:00Speaker 9: Welcome back, guys.
- 39:02Speaker 1: I want to start.
- 39:03Speaker 3: By saying that this podcast isn't for you. When I
- 39:10Speaker 3: first came up with the idea of this podcast and
- 39:15Speaker 3: having you guys occasionally host it, it wasn't so Zach
- 39:18Speaker 3: could go.
- 39:19Speaker 9: To London or Donald could golf with his kids. It
- 39:22Speaker 9: was so week after week.
- 39:25Speaker 3: You can provide people with content with my podcast for
- 39:28Speaker 3: them to listen to. So I'm glad you're back. But
- 39:31Speaker 3: let's not let a week go by like that again.
- 39:36Speaker 3: Today's question is about recurring jokes. And just so you know,
- 39:42Speaker 3: I know you're going to talk a lot about the
- 39:44Speaker 3: thumb pinky scene with Neil Flynn. And I would hope
- 39:49Speaker 3: that you guys would mention innuendo because it's one.
- 39:52Speaker 9: Of the classic Todd lines.
- 39:53Speaker 3: But I will ask you right now, if you can
- 39:57Speaker 3: figure out what the writing staff's favorite recurring joke was
- 40:02Speaker 3: that started.
- 40:04Speaker 9: In this episode.
- 40:06Speaker 3: And to give you one clue, it is something in
- 40:11Speaker 3: the writer's room that we imagined what that event would
- 40:14Speaker 3: be like for quite some time.
- 40:17Speaker 9: I will give you another clue if you can't get it.
- 40:21Speaker 1: What the event would be.
- 40:25Speaker 2: What is he talking about, Tom? I don't know, dude.
- 40:30Speaker 6: A joke that started in here was originally in the
- 40:32Speaker 6: writer's room and became... This is the first time we
- 40:34Speaker 6: see it is in 221.
- 40:36Speaker 1: A joke that they laughed a lot about in the
- 40:38Speaker 1: writer's room of what it would be like.
- 40:41Speaker 2: To go to. Where did we go?
- 40:44Speaker 1: Well, there's the.
- 40:46Speaker 2: The wedding. The wedding at the hospital. Right.
- 40:51Speaker 1: Any of you listening know? Are you thinking at home
- 40:54Speaker 1: what the answer is? There's probably a lot of you
- 40:56Speaker 1: screaming at your listening device right now, and you know
- 40:59Speaker 1: the answer. I don't know. Let's hear another clue, Daniel.
- 41:02Speaker 1: This is a little cryptic.
- 41:03Speaker 4: I'm going to play a little more.
- 41:05Speaker 2: Okay.
- 41:06Speaker 3: Your other clue, if you need it. If you don't,
- 41:08Speaker 3: you can skip this, Daniel and Joelle.
- 41:11Speaker 2: Hey, guys.
- 41:12Speaker 3: Thank you for continuing to come through on my podcast
- 41:15Speaker 3: on a.
- 41:16Speaker 9: Day-to-day, week-to-week basis.
- 41:17Speaker 1: Hi, Bill.
- 41:19Speaker 9: The other clue is it's about Nurse Roberts and her
- 41:21Speaker 9: home life.
- 41:23Speaker 1: Oh.
- 41:24Speaker 2: It has to be. We might have talked about the
- 41:25Speaker 2: opening round pool party.
- 41:26Speaker 1: No, it's something she says. I didn't even write it down,
- 41:29Speaker 1: but she says something about her husband and how he's
- 41:33Speaker 1: not allowed to use the oven.
- 41:38Speaker 8: Is his name Lester?
- 41:39Speaker 1: I think her husband's name is Lester. She said she's
- 41:43Speaker 1: on the phone. This is what she gets in trouble
- 41:45Speaker 1: for because she barks at a patient who wants a pillow.
- 41:47Speaker 1: And she said something about Lester. You know I don't
- 41:50Speaker 1: want you using the oven when I'm not home. Let's
- 41:53Speaker 1: see what it is.
- 41:53Speaker 2: Let's see what it is.
- 41:55Speaker 7: All right.
- 41:55Speaker 3: Our favorite recurring joke in the writer's room was about
- 41:59Speaker 3: Nurse Roberts' above-ground pool party and how any time it
- 42:03Speaker 3: was ever mentioned, it was obviously an all-time off-the-hook party.
- 42:09Speaker 9: I love that the giant shindig was at her.
- 42:11Speaker 3: House, and I love– that it was not a pool party,
- 42:15Speaker 3: but it was an above ground pool party.
- 42:17Speaker 9: Cause there's Roberts pool is above ground. I miss you guys.
- 42:21Speaker 2: I love you.
- 42:22Speaker 9: Uh, welcome back.
- 42:24Speaker 1: We love you too, Bill.
- 42:26Speaker 2: Oh, that's funny.
- 42:26Speaker 1: I gotta say, I didn't realize that nurse Roberts above
- 42:30Speaker 1: ground pool party was always like off the hook.
- 42:33Speaker 2: I said it though. I said nurse ground nurse Roberts
- 42:36Speaker 2: above the ground pool party. You said no, no, no, no, no.
- 42:39Speaker 1: You were right. I was looking for a deeper cut, but,
- 42:41Speaker 1: but yeah, you're right. Um, Nurse Roberts above ground pool
- 42:44Speaker 1: party does come up multiple times throughout the series. And
- 42:47Speaker 1: whenever it does, it's always like, shit went down. Like,
- 42:50Speaker 1: it was crazy.
- 42:51Speaker 2: Well, he chokes the shit out of Ted at the party.
- 42:54Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 42:55Speaker 2: And it didn't help. It did whatever they were arguing about.
- 42:58Speaker 2: And him choking Ted, it didn't help. So, yeah, that
- 43:01Speaker 2: sounds awesome.
- 43:02Speaker 1: I don't think JD and Turk were ever invited to
- 43:05Speaker 1: said party.
- 43:06Speaker 2: I don't think they were. I don't think they were.
- 43:07Speaker 2: Say it again?
- 43:10Speaker 1: What's the matter? Tell her to come say hi. Okay,
- 43:12Speaker 1: come say hi. Tell her to come say hi.
- 43:15Speaker 2: We have the exterminator here.
- 43:19Speaker 5: Hi.
- 43:19Speaker 1: Hi, Casey.
- 43:20Speaker 6: Hi.
- 43:21Speaker 1: Put the headphones on her, Donald, so we can.
- 43:23Speaker 8: Talk to her.
- 43:23Speaker 6: I can hear you.
- 43:24Speaker 9: You're so loud.
- 43:26Speaker 1: How are you doing?
- 43:27Speaker 2: I'm good. I'm good.
- 43:28Speaker 6: How are you?
- 43:28Speaker 1: Are you bringing the exterminator into this room?
- 43:31Speaker 2: Yes.
- 43:32Speaker 1: Oh, that's going to be exciting. This is Juan. Hi, Juan.
- 43:35Speaker 1: Have Juan come say hi. Hi, Juan. Hi, everyone. Hi. Hey,
- 43:40Speaker 1: I think Juan might exterminate my house, too.
- 43:43Speaker 6: No, Juan comes to your house, too.
- 43:44Speaker 2: Oh, hi, Juan.
- 43:45Speaker 1: Tell him it's me.
- 43:47Speaker 4: Hey, Juan.
- 43:49Speaker 1: How are you, man? That's great. Juan does a great job.
- 43:54Speaker 6: Yeah, we love Juan.
- 43:55Speaker 2: Oh, there you go. You got her on the show.
- 43:59Speaker 1: Yeah, we want you on the show more and more.
- 44:01Speaker 2: Oh, yeah?
- 44:01Speaker 1: I started spinning. I got my Pelotons. I know, but
- 44:05Speaker 1: you won't let me know your name so I can
- 44:06Speaker 1: follow you.
- 44:07Speaker 3: I know.
- 44:07Speaker 1: Casey wanted to know my username, and I was like,
- 44:10Speaker 1: first of all, I suck so bad. Let me get
- 44:14Speaker 1: going a little bit before I start handing out my
- 44:16Speaker 1: username and let you know how bad I am.
- 44:18Speaker 9: Yeah, work yourself up because I'm very competitive.
- 44:21Speaker 1: Have you done this? I found a gal I like.
- 44:23Speaker 1: She's a British gal, of course, and her name's Leanne,
- 44:27Speaker 1: I think. And she does a pop one because I
- 44:30Speaker 1: like to work out to pop music. Hell yeah. And
- 44:33Speaker 1: she was good. She was good.
- 44:35Speaker 2: What's the guy's name?
- 44:37Speaker 7: Oh, Cody.
- 44:38Speaker 1: Cody.
- 44:38Speaker 2: If you get a chance, do Cody. That is the business, man.
- 44:43Speaker 1: He might be too hard for me.
- 44:44Speaker 2: He is one of the funniest people I have ever
- 44:47Speaker 2: listened to and rode a bike.
- 44:48Speaker 1: I'm going to write that down.
- 44:50Speaker 6: I have to literally, when Donald does the bike, I
- 44:52Speaker 6: have to come upstairs and check to make sure he's
- 44:54Speaker 6: actually riding because he's laughing hysterically the entire time he's
- 44:58Speaker 6: on the bike.
- 44:59Speaker 1: Donald, do you phone that shit in or do you
- 45:00Speaker 1: really go for it?
- 45:02Speaker 2: I really go for it. Casey goes, like, extremely hard, though.
- 45:05Speaker 1: Well, look at her. Look at her. I mean, Casey,
- 45:07Speaker 1: you're a walking ad for fucking Peloton. Look at her arms.
- 45:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 45:10Speaker 6: Boom.
- 45:11Speaker 1: Got the guns.
- 45:12Speaker 6: I'm very competitive with the board. Like, I try to, like,
- 45:15Speaker 6: pass people.
- 45:16Speaker 1: Hey, Peloton.
- 45:18Speaker 2: I love that. She tries to get into the hundreds.
- 45:20Speaker 1: Like, you know what I mean?
- 45:21Speaker 2: That's dope.
- 45:22Speaker 1: I want to tell the people at Peloton, if any
- 45:24Speaker 1: of you are listening, that Casey Cobb should literally be
- 45:26Speaker 1: your spokesperson because she has never looked so damn good ever.
- 45:31Speaker 2: Aw, thanks, Zach. You know, that's... Peloton.
- 45:34Speaker 1: They're looking for fake.
- 45:36Speaker 2: Doctor real friends advertising.
- 45:39Speaker 1: Well, we're giving it to them for free right now.
- 45:42Speaker 2: We are giving it away for free, but we have
- 45:43Speaker 2: the perfect person for you to pay.
- 45:46Speaker 1: Tasty Cobb.
- 45:47Speaker 8: Thank you, guys.
- 45:48Speaker 1: All right. We got to get back to it.
- 45:50Speaker 4: Take care, Casey.
- 45:51Speaker 2: I'll see y'all later.
- 45:51Speaker 5: Bye.
- 45:53Speaker 1: See, everybody. She's about to take the headphones with her. See, everybody,
- 45:57Speaker 1: we share everything, Dal and I, even exterminators.
- 45:59Speaker 4: Love it.
- 46:00Speaker 5: We do.
- 46:02Speaker 1: Yeah, so I tried Leanne and she's bubbly and British
- 46:07Speaker 1: and she even has, I haven't done it yet, but
- 46:10Speaker 1: she has a musical theater ride. I was like, you
- 46:12Speaker 1: had me at Hello. You had me at Hello.
- 46:16Speaker 2: Oh my God. Oh, what?
- 46:17Speaker 1: Donald, you gotta do it. There was like a Disney
- 46:19Speaker 1: song in there. Oh my gosh.
- 46:20Speaker 2: I bet you the Disney song is let it go.
- 46:22Speaker 2: You know, that's the number one freaking.
- 46:24Speaker 1: No, I think it's an Aladdin. I think it's an
- 46:26Speaker 1: Aladdin one or something.
- 46:27Speaker 2: Gotta keep one jump ahead of the bread line. One
- 46:30Speaker 2: skip ahead of the hop.
- 46:32Speaker 1: But you know how you can.
- 46:33Speaker 2: I think I'll take a stroll around the block.
- 46:36Speaker 1: Donald, Donald, you know how you can put on filters
- 46:39Speaker 1: so you can put on, just put on, you can
- 46:41Speaker 1: choose what music you want. Anyway, you can choose the
- 46:43Speaker 1: teacher and how long you want to go, what level
- 46:46Speaker 1: you're at and the type of music. And I put
- 46:48Speaker 1: all that in and Leanne singing show tunes came up
- 46:52Speaker 1: and I was like, okay, but I haven't done it yet.
- 46:56Speaker 4: Get me on that one.
- 46:57Speaker 6: What's the best musical to work out to? Like if
- 46:59Speaker 6: you had to pick a musical.
- 47:00Speaker 2: Oh, it would have to be, listen, when I was,
- 47:02Speaker 2: and this is gonna, this is gonna, when I was,
- 47:05Speaker 2: I was doing this play in San Diego, Picasso at
- 47:09Speaker 2: the Le Pen Agile written by Steve Martin. I listened
- 47:13Speaker 2: to La La Land, like it was going out of style, dude.
- 47:18Speaker 2: Like it was going out of style. Everything was, when
- 47:21Speaker 2: I was working out, City of Stars, are you shining
- 47:26Speaker 2: just for me? But do-do-do-do-do, City of Stars.
- 47:32Speaker 1: Donald went through a period where he would get drunk
- 47:35Speaker 1: on a plane and then start tweeting how pissed he
- 47:40Speaker 1: was about the end of La La Land.
- 47:43Speaker 2: She's ungrateful she's ungrateful that.
- 47:46Speaker 1: Dude did everything I would just be I'd be looking
- 47:48Speaker 1: at my Twitter and I'd be like oh shit he's
- 47:51Speaker 1: drunk on the airplane again and I bet his tears
- 47:53Speaker 1: in his eyes because he's watched the end of La
- 47:55Speaker 1: La Land and he's like it just pissed me off
- 47:57Speaker 1: yeah it pissed me off go ahead do your tirade for.
- 48:00Speaker 2: The people do your tirade for the people for the
- 48:02Speaker 2: people for the people who love La La Land and
- 48:04Speaker 2: is also pissed off at the end we have a
- 48:07Speaker 2: new segment called things that upset Donald about the end
- 48:10Speaker 2: of La La Land They broke up, right? Granted, it
- 48:13Speaker 2: was his fault. He was supposed to be at the show.
- 48:16Speaker 2: He didn't make it. He was all about himself.
- 48:19Speaker 5: Yes.
- 48:20Speaker 2: But he redeems himself by freaking taking the call from
- 48:24Speaker 2: the casting director, driving all the way to Colorado.
- 48:29Speaker 1: Right.
- 48:30Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 48:31Speaker 6: What happened?
- 48:32Speaker 8: Wait.
- 48:33Speaker 2: Wait, is Boulder? Boulder City?
- 48:35Speaker 1: No.
- 48:35Speaker 4: Boulder's in Colorado.
- 48:36Speaker 1: You're correct.
- 48:37Speaker 2: Is it? No, because it was something else.
- 48:38Speaker 6: Is it Denver or Boulder that he goes to?
- 48:40Speaker 2: No, it's Colorado.
- 48:41Speaker 4: They're both in Colorado.
- 48:42Speaker 1: Irrelevant. He takes a long drive.
- 48:44Speaker 2: He takes a long drive. And the reason why he
- 48:48Speaker 2: knows it is because it's the house across from the
- 48:50Speaker 2: library in this small town that she lives in. So
- 48:54Speaker 2: he finds her, delivers the message. Yo, look, you got
- 48:58Speaker 2: an audition for a big casting director. This is huge.
- 49:02Speaker 1: We know the movie.
- 49:03Speaker 2: You're going. And she's like, I'm not going. He's like, well,
- 49:06Speaker 2: I'm going back tomorrow. You can ride with me. He
- 49:08Speaker 2: takes her to said audition. She auditions for the show.
- 49:13Speaker 1: And that's the best song in the whole movie.
- 49:15Speaker 8: Go ahead.
- 49:16Speaker 2: I disagree.
- 49:17Speaker 1: It's not the best song in the whole movie.
- 49:18Speaker 2: I disagree. It's a one-er.
- 49:19Speaker 1: And she cries. Go ahead.
- 49:21Speaker 2: Anyway, she slays the audition.
- 49:26Speaker 1: Emma Stone. Love her.
- 49:27Speaker 2: Gets the part. At the end of it, she says
- 49:30Speaker 2: to him, what's going to happen between us? And he's like, well,
- 49:34Speaker 2: you know, we're just going to have to see what happens.
- 49:36Speaker 2: Because when you get this part, and she's like, if
- 49:39Speaker 2: I get this part, And he's so supportive. He's like, no,
- 49:41Speaker 2: when you get this part, you're going to have to
- 49:43Speaker 2: give it everything you got. Because the part takes her
- 49:47Speaker 2: all the way to Paris, where she's going to have
- 49:49Speaker 2: to live for a year. They're going to film. She's
- 49:52Speaker 2: going to live there first, where they develop it. And
- 49:54Speaker 2: then they're going to film it there. The part's totally
- 49:57Speaker 2: catered to her. So at the end of it, she's
- 49:59Speaker 2: going to look like the biggest movie star. She goes
- 50:02Speaker 2: to Paris. It cuts to five years later.
- 50:05Speaker 1: Go ahead.
- 50:08Speaker 2: She hasn't seen this dude since he told her, since
- 50:12Speaker 2: they said, I love you at the freaking observatory, the
- 50:16Speaker 2: Griffith Park Observatory, where they last spoke.
- 50:22Speaker 1: I'm already getting sad. I'm literally getting sad.
- 50:25Speaker 2: She accidentally walks into... His jazz club, which she thought
- 50:35Speaker 2: he would never do because he was such a wild card,
- 50:38Speaker 2: and he even changed the name to the name that
- 50:40Speaker 2: she wanted him to change it to, walks in, sits
- 50:46Speaker 2: in the front fucking row.
- 50:49Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 50:51Speaker 2: Surprise! Look who's here! And not only am I here,
- 50:56Speaker 2: not only, right, it's a big movie star that you
- 50:58Speaker 2: used to date, that you were in love with, that
- 51:01Speaker 2: I told you I loved you, that you could, you
- 51:02Speaker 2: know what? If it wasn't for you, I wouldn't be
- 51:04Speaker 2: where I'm at right now. But here I am, accidentally,
- 51:10Speaker 2: with my husband, who I have now had a kid with,
- 51:14Speaker 2: and I've forgotten all about you. And he takes her
- 51:18Speaker 2: on this little journey.
- 51:19Speaker 1: Now, you're mad that part of your drunk airplane La
- 51:23Speaker 1: La Land tirades used to be, why didn't she fly
- 51:28Speaker 1: him over or fly? Why didn't she make an effort
- 51:30Speaker 1: to have him in her life now that she became rich?
- 51:34Speaker 2: As soon as that movie was done, she should have
- 51:37Speaker 2: been like, hey, look, it's over with. What are you
- 51:42Speaker 2: doing with your life? And he should have been like, oh,
- 51:45Speaker 2: he gave her the space. Look, someone once told me,
- 51:48Speaker 2: if you love someone, it's meant to be. If you
- 51:51Speaker 2: love someone, set them free. If they come back, it's
- 51:54Speaker 2: meant to be, right? Yeah. He set her free.
- 51:58Speaker 1: But sadly... What I thought was so beautifully tragic about
- 52:03Speaker 1: it is that I thought it was real life. You
- 52:06Speaker 1: can go that deep with someone and then life takes
- 52:09Speaker 1: you all the way over there and all of a
- 52:11Speaker 1: sudden you're on a different trajectory. And that's what's so
- 52:15Speaker 1: heartbreaking about it because when they come together in that
- 52:17Speaker 1: jazz club, Damien Chazelle brilliantly takes you on a little
- 52:22Speaker 1: daydream of what life could have been. That's the most
- 52:24Speaker 1: heartbreaking part of the movie for me.
- 52:26Speaker 2: That's why it's so heartbreaking because at the end of it,
- 52:29Speaker 2: you see you could have had all of the stuff
- 52:31Speaker 2: that you have now and you would have been happy
- 52:34Speaker 2: like you are now and it would have been with
- 52:37Speaker 2: the guy that supported you To get to where you
- 52:41Speaker 2: are right now.
- 52:42Speaker 1: But that relationship, Donald, might have been more confrontational and mercurial.
- 52:47Speaker 1: And maybe she's not in something maybe as passionate and sexy.
- 52:52Speaker 1: But she's happy. She has peace. She's content. She's got
- 52:56Speaker 1: a nice husband and a baby. And she's got this
- 52:58Speaker 1: huge career. And I think it's a debate about like...
- 53:02Speaker 1: Are you going to go with the person that drives
- 53:04Speaker 1: you fucking crazy and makes you want to pull your
- 53:06Speaker 1: hair out, but also you have such passion? Or are
- 53:08Speaker 1: you going to choose the life of like, I want
- 53:10Speaker 1: to be more Zen. I want to be in a
- 53:13Speaker 1: common place.
- 53:13Speaker 2: Well, he turned out. And that's the other thing, though.
- 53:16Speaker 2: He turned out to be that guy, though, also. He
- 53:18Speaker 2: didn't turn out to be the dude that was a
- 53:20Speaker 2: wild card. He turned out to be the safe bet.
- 53:23Speaker 2: You know what I mean? He got the club done.
- 53:26Speaker 2: He was very responsible about it all. He hired a
- 53:28Speaker 2: bunch of people.
- 53:29Speaker 1: He changed his whole life around for her.
- 53:31Speaker 2: For her. To impress her. Well, not necessarily. I don't
- 53:34Speaker 2: know if it was to impress her. But she showed
- 53:36Speaker 2: him an idea of what he could be. And he said, yo,
- 53:42Speaker 2: you know what? I like that idea. And this is
- 53:44Speaker 2: somebody who everybody was trying to be like, yo, look, dude.
- 53:47Speaker 2: You're doing this all wrong. The way you should do
- 53:49Speaker 2: it is this way. And he wasn't open in receiving
- 53:51Speaker 2: anybody else's idea of how they thought he should be.
- 53:55Speaker 2: But he was open to hers. And he does it.
- 53:59Speaker 2: And she comes back and sees it. You know, when
- 54:02Speaker 2: she walked out of that place, she had to be
- 54:04Speaker 2: all confused.
- 54:05Speaker 1: Of course. Well, she does that. She does that.
- 54:07Speaker 2: And he had to be all confused too, man. I
- 54:09Speaker 2: know this is a Scrubs rewatch podcast.
- 54:11Speaker 1: No, I'm sorry. But this can go on for the whole- Listen,
- 54:15Speaker 1: I would like to change the show to every week
- 54:18Speaker 1: we analyze La La Land.
- 54:20Speaker 4: No, wait.
- 54:21Speaker 1: Listen, we're almost done. I just want to say this
- 54:23Speaker 1: last part. She gives that look back in the club
- 54:26Speaker 1: that clearly says, oh, fuck. what might my.
- 54:31Speaker 8: Life have been.
- 54:32Speaker 2: I don't know if that's the look back she gives.
- 54:34Speaker 1: Oh, well, that's what's up for interpretation. In fact, my father,
- 54:37Speaker 1: my late, great, amazing father, who loved the movie very much,
- 54:42Speaker 1: thought it was kind of like what might be, like
- 54:47Speaker 1: still could happen.
- 54:49Speaker 8: Oh.
- 54:49Speaker 2: That's what Casey's father says, too. Casey's father's like, she
- 54:53Speaker 2: looks back at him like, you know, There's still some
- 54:57Speaker 2: magic here.
- 54:58Speaker 1: I'm probably going to see you soon or one day.
- 55:02Speaker 1: For me, what's even more heartbreaking and beautiful about it
- 55:05Speaker 1: is it's the period at the end of a sentence.
- 55:08Speaker 1: It's look back like what a time we had and
- 55:12Speaker 1: now I'm gone. And that just fucking breaks my heart.
- 55:14Speaker 2: And he's not reluctant about it. He's the one that
- 55:17Speaker 2: has already let go, obviously. Like he goes to work
- 55:20Speaker 2: every day and her face is plastered on the wall
- 55:23Speaker 2: of his jazz club, dude. Every day he walks by
- 55:27Speaker 2: her face as he's walking into his club.
- 55:30Speaker 1: There's a great song called Some Other Time. It's an
- 55:32Speaker 1: old standard. And the lyric is something like, oh, well,
- 55:36Speaker 1: we'll catch up. Some other time.
- 55:40Speaker 2: Well, there's another one called I'll See You Next Lifetime
- 55:42Speaker 2: by Erykah Badu. And it's like, I guess I'll see
- 55:45Speaker 2: you next lifetime. Oh, I am such a sucker for that.
- 55:49Speaker 7: No hard feelings.
- 55:50Speaker 1: I am such a sucker for that. I really, really,
- 55:55Speaker 1: really love that movie. And I don't have any patience
- 55:59Speaker 1: for anyone that doesn't.
- 56:00Speaker 2: You know, I really do love that movie too. I've
- 56:02Speaker 2: had a lot of people try to convince me otherwise
- 56:04Speaker 2: not to love the movie.
- 56:05Speaker 1: Well, it does feel like, I feel like whenever a
- 56:07Speaker 1: film is super successful, of course it's going to become
- 56:11Speaker 1: polarizing because that's just what happens. But I, for me,
- 56:16Speaker 1: I was so moved by it and I just thought
- 56:19Speaker 1: the whole thing was so beautiful that I, for the
- 56:22Speaker 1: first time since I was maybe a teenager, I was
- 56:24Speaker 1: like wanting them as human beings to be together. Like,
- 56:28Speaker 1: you know, all these teenagers, they stand the couples that
- 56:31Speaker 1: are in movies together and all that. I felt that
- 56:33Speaker 1: I remember feeling legit sad that Ryan Gosling and Emma
- 56:37Speaker 1: Stone were not together in real life because I so
- 56:39Speaker 1: was invested in them as a couple.
- 56:42Speaker 2: That's like the notebook.
- 56:44Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 56:46Speaker 2: They really dated after. That was after you saw the notebook.
- 56:50Speaker 2: You were like, those two got to be together in
- 56:51Speaker 2: real life, man. There's no way those two.
- 56:53Speaker 1: Ain't really dating. I remember feeling melancholic that they were
- 56:58Speaker 1: not ever going to be together in real life.
- 57:01Speaker 2: So silly.
- 57:03Speaker 1: But that's great art. That's great art. It gets you
- 57:05Speaker 1: all riled up. Go ahead, Daniel.
- 57:06Speaker 4: All I was going to add is that I think
- 57:08Speaker 4: the value of them not being together is that it
- 57:12Speaker 4: promotes the conversation that we're having right now. It allows
- 57:14Speaker 4: everybody to have kind of different feelings and thoughts about
- 57:16Speaker 4: how it goes. Because no one is going to... Let's
- 57:18Speaker 4: say they get together at the end. No one is
- 57:20Speaker 4: going to watch that movie and say, I think they
- 57:22Speaker 4: should have broke up. I think she should have stuck
- 57:24Speaker 4: by and broke up. The fact that they do, it
- 57:26Speaker 4: promotes this kind of what could have happened conversation. And
- 57:29Speaker 4: it's less easy that way. It shouldn't be just Prince
- 57:32Speaker 4: Charming gets the princess at the very end. And I
- 57:34Speaker 4: think when you have a story that defies that convention...
- 57:37Speaker 4: you promote a lot more conversation like we're having right now.
- 57:39Speaker 6: It's also a wonderful narrative about timing. Like this idea
- 57:42Speaker 6: that like, had he been this guy the whole time,
- 57:44Speaker 6: they would have had that wonderful ending, but they both
- 57:47Speaker 6: had to grow as people. And I think they both
- 57:50Speaker 6: grew better apart than they were, than they ever grew together.
- 57:53Speaker 6: You're just always at each other's necks. And as beautiful
- 57:56Speaker 6: as the gesture of coming out to Colorado was, was
- 57:59Speaker 6: it enough to make up for the like three, three
- 58:01Speaker 6: and a half years there together where it's just chaos
- 58:03Speaker 6: and madness?
- 58:03Speaker 1: Mental torment.
- 58:04Speaker 6: Oh my God, no.
- 58:06Speaker 2: Well, it wasn't mental torment. They seemed to be having
- 58:09Speaker 2: a good time until he went on the road and started.
- 58:16Speaker 1: Becoming a successful musician. It's very hard to date a
- 58:20Speaker 1: touring musician.
- 58:21Speaker 2: Anyway, my point to the whole thing is I love
- 58:25Speaker 2: that movie. It kind of reminds me of Casablanca and
- 58:28Speaker 2: the fact that at the end they go separate and
- 58:30Speaker 2: for years to come people will be arguing why They
- 58:34Speaker 2: should have stayed together or why it was right for
- 58:36Speaker 2: them to be separated.
- 58:38Speaker 1: It's a beautiful device because he's able to– Chazelle is
- 58:41Speaker 1: able to have his cake and eat it too. Because
- 58:44Speaker 1: if you make a movie like that, the audience is
- 58:46Speaker 1: going to be furious if they don't get together at
- 58:48Speaker 1: the end. But then it's less artful because it's like, oh,
- 58:51Speaker 1: it's just commercial. So he's able to have his cake
- 58:54Speaker 1: and eat it too. He doesn't have them end up together,
- 58:56Speaker 1: but shows you the beauty of what it would have
- 58:58Speaker 1: been like if the timing was right, like Joelle. I mean,
- 59:01Speaker 1: I'm sure everybody listening can think of someone in their
- 59:04Speaker 1: life that passed through that you think, oh my God,
- 59:07Speaker 1: what might have been if that timing was different? and
- 59:11Speaker 1: and i think that's why it tapped into so many
- 59:13Speaker 1: people's heart cages this.
- 59:15Speaker 2: All comes from this all comes from uh How did
- 59:22Speaker 2: this conversation begin?
- 59:23Speaker 1: I was talking about how you went through a period
- 59:26Speaker 1: where you got on the plane and drunk tweeted about
- 59:28Speaker 1: La La Land.
- 59:29Speaker 4: But it was because we were talking about the... the Peloton,
- 59:33Speaker 4: and how there's the musical theater and what's the thing
- 59:35Speaker 4: that would get you the most time.
- 59:35Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, there you go.
- 59:36Speaker 4: Which I also have a different answer for.
- 59:38Speaker 1: What's that?
- 59:38Speaker 2: Go ahead. Let's go to that.
- 59:40Speaker 4: Wicked, Defying Gravity, and Popular. You get those going, and
- 59:45Speaker 4: I will pump for hours.
- 59:46Speaker 1: Great one.
- 59:48Speaker 2: Did you say Popular, too? Did you say Popular also?
- 59:50Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 59:51Speaker 4: Well, Popular is just one of the songs in Wicked,
- 59:53Speaker 4: but it's just like that and Defying Gravity.
- 59:55Speaker 2: I know what both of them are.
- 59:58Speaker 1: I didn't know that Daniel was a musical theater head
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: like us.
- 1:00:01Speaker 4: You know, I had my days.
- 1:00:03Speaker 2: You're gonna be popular.
- 1:00:04Speaker 6: You guys know Not Thoroughly Modern Millie?
- 1:00:07Speaker 3: Yes.
- 1:00:08Speaker 6: Which has the most upbeat, high-kick energy songs.
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: I saw that once with Lee Sutton Foster. I have
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: to say something, though. There's a video that you have
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: to watch if you're listening. Go look on YouTube. Kristen
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: Chenoweth playing the Hollywood Bowl, which, if you don't know,
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: is an enormous outdoor venue in Los Angeles. And it's
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: probably the coolest place to do a concert.
- 1:00:29Speaker 4: 100%.
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: And she, I don't know if it's a plant and
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: even if it is a plant, I don't care because
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: it's so amazing. She sings the song from Wicked. Because
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: I knew you, I haven't changed. And she says, I
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: can't sing this alone. I don't have a Dina here.
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: Can I bring someone up? And she brings up a
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: woman who's a high school music teacher. Have you guys
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: seen this video?
- 1:00:55Speaker 6: Yes.
- 1:00:55Speaker 2: Great video.
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: She's a high school music teacher. And even if it's
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: a plant, who cares? She's still a high school music teacher.
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: And she comes up and she sings... And with Kristen
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: Chenoweth at the Hollywood Bowl in the most beautiful, holy shit,
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: goosebump way.
- 1:01:11Speaker 2: My heart.
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: You have to see it. It's so moving and beautiful.
- 1:01:15Speaker 5: We'll get up right after this.
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: All right, should we go to break and then come
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: back with a guest?
- 1:01:18Speaker 4: Yes, they're here and ready to go.
- 1:01:20Speaker 2: We still have so much more to come back to.
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: We have. We have a lot to talk about. This
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: became a La La Land podcast, but that's not sometimes
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: shit happens. We love you.
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: We'll be right back. Sometimes it's every day is sun.
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: We'll be right back. All right, and we're back.
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: I think about that day. We're back, we're back, we're back.
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: I left him at a Greyhound station west of Santa Fe.
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: Bring the guest in, guys. We were 17, but he
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: was sweet and it was true.
- 1:01:50Speaker 4: Nat is on his way.
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: That guest better like La La Land or they're in trouble.
- 1:01:54Speaker 4: I'll tell you what, if he doesn't like La La Land,
- 1:01:55Speaker 4: he loves scrubs.
- 1:01:57Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:01:57Speaker 2: There he is, Matt!
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: Matt! Hey, Matt.
- 1:02:03Speaker 2: There he is.
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: Hi, Matt.
- 1:02:06Speaker 8: What's up, everybody?
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: Welcome to the program, Matt.
- 1:02:09Speaker 2: Welcome.
- 1:02:11Speaker 8: Matt, how do you say your last name?
- 1:02:12Speaker 2: West Fallon?
- 1:02:12Speaker 8: West Fallon.
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: Welcome to the program.
- 1:02:16Speaker 2: Give it up to Matt Westphalen.
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: Matt Westphalen getting his standard Oprah introduction from the Donald.
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: He is in the house.
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: Matt, I'm going to say from looking at the background
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: of your camera that you like a lot of the
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: same things Donald does. There looks to be some action
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: figure type action happening back there.
- 1:02:40Speaker 8: Ooh. Oh, yeah.
- 1:02:43Speaker 7: My house is, a friend of ours called it the
- 1:02:45Speaker 7: Pop Culture Palace.
- 1:02:49Speaker 8: My bedroom is all like.
- 1:02:50Speaker 7: Ready Player One, some How to Train Your Dragon and stuff.
- 1:02:55Speaker 8: My living room is all Kevin Smith, all B.U.S.Q. stuff,
- 1:03:00Speaker 8: a bunch of posters.
- 1:03:01Speaker 7: We got another room that's all John Hughes, Richard Linklater.
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: Don't you forget about me.
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: Hey, I didn't think you were going to throw Gilmore
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: Girls in at the end. That seems like a turn, Matt.
- 1:03:17Speaker 2: It is.
- 1:03:19Speaker 7: My wife, Kendra, she got into it late just a
- 1:03:23Speaker 7: couple of years ago and fell in love.
- 1:03:24Speaker 8: And then she's hooked everybody else.
- 1:03:27Speaker 7: And now our kitchen is Luke's Diner and Wow. Now
- 1:03:32Speaker 7: she's doing art for a monthly fan box, Gilmore Girls stuff.
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: Wow.
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: I got to check out this Gilmore Girls. I've never
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: seen a single episode.
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: Neither have I. Apparently they talk.
- 1:03:43Speaker 1: Really, really fast. I know the shtick is that they
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: talk incredibly fast and very wittily like no one else,
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: no one really could in real life. But that's a
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: convention that they use, right? Oh, yeah. But apparently it's great.
- 1:03:56Speaker 8: It's fantastic.
- 1:03:57Speaker 7: It was one of those things where like, She was
- 1:04:00Speaker 7: watching it and getting into it. And the next thing
- 1:04:02Speaker 7: you know, I'm sitting down and I start asking questions.
- 1:04:06Speaker 8: And then she's like, you go to your room and
- 1:04:08Speaker 8: you watch it. So I don't have to answer all
- 1:04:10Speaker 8: these questions.
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: Matt, do you watch Cobra Kai?
- 1:04:15Speaker 8: It's fucking awesome. It's so good.
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: You watch Cobra Kai?
- 1:04:20Speaker 8: Hells yeah.
- 1:04:21Speaker 2: Yeah!
- 1:04:23Speaker 7: I actually wrote that down as one of the things
- 1:04:25Speaker 7: to bring up was Cobra Kai.
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: I love that show. I love that show.
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: That's all Donald wants to talk about.
- 1:04:31Speaker 2: By the way, I love the new Mandalorian season.
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: I love how wide your tastes span, Donald, I have
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: to say. Because, of course, we all know the eye
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: of the storm for you. But you do span from
- 1:04:42Speaker 1: Cobra Kai to La La Land and everything in between.
- 1:04:45Speaker 2: Yeah, dude, I'm eclectic.
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: Except you don't really watch Breaking Bad. But let's not
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: bring that up because it's a sore subject.
- 1:04:53Speaker 8: Matt, you didn't watch Remember the Titans?
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: I know, but Matt, I have. I have seen it.
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: Don't bring up past wounds, Matt, please.
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: That's the only movie that I've been in that he's seen.
- 1:05:05Speaker 2: I don't even think he's seen Clueless before, to be honest.
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: No, I have seen Clueless. I have seen Clueless.
- 1:05:10Speaker 7: Clueless is fantastic because the lip bite is one of
- 1:05:13Speaker 7: my favorite things.
- 1:05:14Speaker 2: Oh, you're a sucker for a lip bite.
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: Man after my heart.
- 1:05:17Speaker 8: I am team lip bite.
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: Yeah, I put in requests. I put in requests for
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: lip bites all the time at my house.
- 1:05:22Speaker 8: I do the same thing.
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: Matt, do you have a question for either one of us?
- 1:05:29Speaker 7: I do. I actually have a question, and you all
- 1:05:32Speaker 7: are welcome to answer. It would be your top five
- 1:05:36Speaker 7: favorite 80s movies.
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: Top five, wow. In the interest of time, why don't
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: we say top three? Okay, Donald, go ahead.
- 1:05:47Speaker 2: Okay. My top five 80s movies. What year... Did Boys
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: in the Hood come out? That's 1990?
- 1:05:55Speaker 6: Ooh.
- 1:05:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:05:56Speaker 4: I think that's- 92, I think.
- 1:05:59Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:06:00Speaker 8: 91.
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: Okay. Well, then it's definitely Do the Right Thing. 89's
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: the number! Another summer!
- 1:06:06Speaker 8: Ugh!
- 1:06:07Speaker 2: Can't get no double! Okay, so Do the Right Thing.
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: Weird Science. Preach. Adventures in Babysitting.
- 1:06:21Speaker 8: Oh!
- 1:06:23Speaker 2: The Empire Strikes Back.
- 1:06:25Speaker 8: I was waiting.
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: And then Raiders of the Lost Ark.
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: Okay. All right, Joelle, you want to go?
- 1:06:36Speaker 6: Oh, I'm going to pick up Raiders and Empire because Avi.
- 1:06:40Speaker 6: I'm going to.
- 1:06:41Speaker 2: Oh, I fucked up. E.T.
- 1:06:43Speaker 5: E.T.
- 1:06:43Speaker 8: Also.
- 1:06:44Speaker 2: I got to take one of those off. E.T. is
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: up there too. Sorry. No problem.
- 1:06:47Speaker 6: No problem. Okay. Does Terminator make the cutoff? I think
- 1:06:52Speaker 6: it does.
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: Yeah, it does. Hell yeah, that's 80s.
- 1:06:54Speaker 6: I'll say Aliens, even though it's not my favorite version
- 1:06:58Speaker 6: of Alien, the franchise. It is a solid movie. And
- 1:07:03Speaker 6: I will end with, oh, I think Witch Meryl Streep
- 1:07:08Speaker 6: is my favorite. Is it Silkwood?
- 1:07:11Speaker 2: Just don't say freaking Bridges over Madison County.
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: That's later. That's 90s, I think.
- 1:07:16Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:07:18Speaker 6: I think Silkwood makes the cutoff. I'm not sure if
- 1:07:20Speaker 6: that's 70s or 80s, but I love that movie.
- 1:07:21Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: Daniel, you don't have to do five. You can do three.
- 1:07:24Speaker 2: You took six. Man, there's so many good ones in
- 1:07:27Speaker 2: the 80s.
- 1:07:27Speaker 4: There were a lot of really good movies. I'm going
- 1:07:29Speaker 4: to steal a couple. 16 Candles, E.T., Karate Kid. Those
- 1:07:36Speaker 4: are definitely my three.
- 1:07:37Speaker 2: Daniel, you don't watch Cobra Kai?
- 1:07:41Speaker 4: I'm getting there.
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: I have a lot of VR flesh. Listen, when he
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: said 80s movies... I know this is sort of silly,
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: but I kind of went to like the John Hughes,
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: my brain went to the John Hughes world. I wasn't
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: thinking of like Star Wars, Raiders. So my first three
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: things that came to my mind, well, two were that oeuvre,
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: which is real genius and weird science. And then the
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: last was Beverly Hills Cop, which has got to be.
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: 80s, right? Yeah, but there's so many other ones that
- 1:08:11Speaker 2: are worthy of this list. Let me just name a
- 1:08:13Speaker 2: couple that didn't make it.
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: Don't obey the fucking rules.
- 1:08:17Speaker 2: Romancing the Stone. Romancing the Stone didn't make it. Tootsie. Tootsie, dude.
- 1:08:24Speaker 2: Come on, man.
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: Don't you yell Tootsie at me. Matt, what are yours, please?
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: Let's limit it to five, Matt.
- 1:08:33Speaker 8: My number one.
- 1:08:34Speaker 7: which is also my number one favorite movie of all
- 1:08:36Speaker 7: time is Big Trouble in Little China.
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: By the way, Matt, did you notice in Donald's last
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: Instagram post that I was dressed as Kurt Russell in
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: that movie on Halloween? I don't know if you noticed
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: that or not.
- 1:08:54Speaker 8: Yeah, I did.
- 1:08:55Speaker 7: I got a huge kick out of that. I freaking
- 1:08:58Speaker 7: loved it. That was, it was, fantastic.
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: Donald and i went to a halloween party at kate
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: hudson's house and i had no idea what i was
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: going to be in but i knew kurt russell was
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: going to be there so i thought i'm just going
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: to go big or go i'm.
- 1:09:14Speaker 8: Did you talk in like the John Wayne impression?
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: No, no, I didn't do that. I just had a
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: pretty darn good outfit on.
- 1:09:24Speaker 2: Matt, do you know why he didn't do that? Because
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: he had never seen the movie. No, that's bullshit.
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: Of course I'd seen the movie.
- 1:09:29Speaker 2: You've seen Big Trouble in Little China?
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: Of course I have. Why do you fucking insult me?
- 1:09:32Speaker 2: Because I don't think you see a movie like that, dude.
- 1:09:35Speaker 2: Movies like that don't seem to float your boat. There
- 1:09:38Speaker 2: was no music in that movie. There was no dancing
- 1:09:40Speaker 2: in that movie. It wasn't West Side Story.
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: You dishonor me.
- 1:09:46Speaker 8: This is true.
- 1:09:49Speaker 2: Daniel, see what he did there? He took your word.
- 1:09:51Speaker 4: I did.
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: I took his what you're talking about, Willis.
- 1:09:54Speaker 2: He took your what you're talking about, Willis.
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: I took your what you're talking about, Willis, and I
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: repurposed it.
- 1:09:58Speaker 4: I like it. Not bad. All right, go ahead.
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: Go ahead, Matt.
- 1:10:07Speaker 8: Sorry.
- 1:10:07Speaker 2: Wait, hold up. Before we go forward, what was your
- 1:10:09Speaker 2: favorite part about Little Big Trouble in China?
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: No, we don't have time for that, dude.
- 1:10:12Speaker 8: We're so over.
- 1:10:13Speaker 2: It doesn't matter. It's not going to make the show.
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: All right, Matt, continue.
- 1:10:17Speaker 8: Let's see.
- 1:10:19Speaker 7: Number two, The Princess Bride.
- 1:10:22Speaker 8: Oh, man.
- 1:10:23Speaker 2: That's 90s. That's got to be 90s. No, that's 80s. What?
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: Dude, look at Matt's house. I think he knows what
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: movies came out.
- 1:10:30Speaker 4: He's definitely not messing about.
- 1:10:33Speaker 2: Oh, that's a good one.
- 1:10:35Speaker 8: Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
- 1:10:37Speaker 2: Oh, that would be in mind.
- 1:10:38Speaker 4: Of course, another classic.
- 1:10:40Speaker 8: Empire, of course.
- 1:10:42Speaker 7: And then my five is tied between Bill and Ted
- 1:10:48Speaker 7: and Transformers, the movie.
- 1:10:50Speaker 8: Oh, the animated movie.
- 1:10:52Speaker 2: Oh, my gosh.
- 1:10:52Speaker 8: I love that movie.
- 1:10:53Speaker 2: You got the touch. I know that movie by heart.
- 1:10:57Speaker 8: You got the power.
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: Ooh, there you go, Matt.
- 1:11:03Speaker 2: Yes, Matt. Sing. I know that movie by heart, like
- 1:11:07Speaker 2: literally by heart. Hot Rod, there's a hole in the shuttle.
- 1:11:11Speaker 8: What? Decepticons. Die, Autobots.
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: I had the Optimus Prime Transformer action figure thing when
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: I was a kid. And I had the... Decepticons. What's
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: the bad guy's name?
- 1:11:29Speaker 8: Megatron.
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: Megatron turned into a gun. Yeah, dude.
- 1:11:33Speaker 4: That's right.
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: Wouldn't probably be that way in 2020.
- 1:11:35Speaker 4: No, it would not.
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: Oh, shit. He got the.
- 1:11:38Speaker 2: Autobots on his arm.
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: He got the insignia. He has a giant Autobots tattoo.
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: Autobots face their battle to destroy the evil forces of
- 1:11:48Speaker 2: the Decepticons.
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: What a song. um all right good one matt um
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: what else you got another question for.
- 1:11:56Speaker 7: Us um well since we talked about gilmore girls earlier
- 1:11:59Speaker 7: i noticed there was a lot of references to it
- 1:12:01Speaker 7: on scrubs i was wondering if somebody on the writing
- 1:12:03Speaker 7: staff was a fan and maybe that's why those got
- 1:12:06Speaker 7: dropped in on occasion i think.
- 1:12:08Speaker 2: This is a bill lawrence question because i don't believe
- 1:12:10Speaker 2: bill really did like gilmore.
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: No i don't think it was bill but it is
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: a good time to bring back the ask bill segment
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: we haven't used in a while He's.
- 1:12:18Speaker 2: Going to be mad about it, but I think this
- 1:12:19Speaker 2: is a good question.
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: Listen, let's be blunt. You think he's going to be mad?
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: The guy doesn't mind attention. Bill, Bill, what's the deal
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: with Gilmore Girls? Why did it come up so much?
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: Was there someone in particular in the writer's room who
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: was a fan? Why so much Gilmore Girls talk?
- 1:12:41Speaker 9: The answer is no, but with explanation. There was no one.
- 1:12:44Speaker 3: That especially loved the Gilmore Girls in our writer's room,
- 1:12:47Speaker 3: though we all thought it.
- 1:12:48Speaker 9: Was a good show. We did think, as a writing staff,
- 1:12:51Speaker 9: that J.D.
- 1:12:51Speaker 3: And Turk loved the Gilmore Girls because they spoke so
- 1:12:55Speaker 3: fast and they spoke so true. But what we will
- 1:12:59Speaker 3: tell you is that we decided early on in the
- 1:13:01Speaker 3: writer's room that Turk and J.D.
- 1:13:04Speaker 9: Loved TV.
- 1:13:05Speaker 3: Turk could sing the theme to Sanford and Sons and
- 1:13:09Speaker 3: do his own words. They both fantasized about doing the
- 1:13:14Speaker 3: rerun dance. They said, hey, hey, hey, what's happening, Raj?
- 1:13:17Speaker 2: J.D.
- 1:13:17Speaker 3: 's original fantasy guy was Jimmy Walker from Good Times.
- 1:13:24Speaker 3: They knew every line to Fletch.
- 1:13:27Speaker 2: J.D.
- 1:13:28Speaker 3: Even had a fantasy with Cheers is the Theme Song
- 1:13:30Speaker 3: about writing about how sitcoms make you feel better. So
- 1:13:36Speaker 3: they were two guys that loved television. um and made
- 1:13:41Speaker 3: a thousand television references but i bet you i could
- 1:13:44Speaker 3: pick a couple that there we did even more often
- 1:13:47Speaker 3: than um uh gilmore girls we only did gilmore girls
- 1:13:51Speaker 3: like five or six i'm not gonna do it we
- 1:13:54Speaker 3: only did gilmore girls a couple times but man they
- 1:13:56Speaker 3: love tv.
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: Thank you bill for that thoughtful answer and for not
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: trying to do another five six seven eight oh he's
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: gonna try All right, Matt, now it's time for everybody's
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: favorite segment. People are talking about this from Los Angeles
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: to Timbuktu. It's time to.
- 1:14:18Speaker 2: Fix Your Life! Yeah, buddy.
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: All right, go ahead, buddy. How can we fix your life?
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: We're ready.
- 1:14:26Speaker 8: So you guys have kind of already started on that.
- 1:14:30Speaker 8: I have been since.
- 1:14:31Speaker 2: Then you're welcome. You're welcome.
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: The quickest one.
- 1:14:35Speaker 8: Yes, exactly.
- 1:14:37Speaker 7: Since right before COVID started, I wasn't going anywhere on
- 1:14:41Speaker 7: top of being safe, but my wife and youngest son
- 1:14:44Speaker 7: are both type 1 diabetics who.
- 1:14:46Speaker 8: Are very high risk.
- 1:14:48Speaker 7: So we were super safe and cautious about everything. And
- 1:14:52Speaker 7: I started, you know, I'm stuck at home. I'm working
- 1:14:54Speaker 7: from home. And so I started, you know, I'm finally
- 1:14:58Speaker 7: going to try to lose some weight and get in shape,
- 1:15:01Speaker 7: get that blood pressure down. So I started going on,
- 1:15:04Speaker 7: on runs and your guys' podcast has been in my
- 1:15:07Speaker 7: ears almost every time I run.
- 1:15:10Speaker 8: So I'm down more than 30 pounds so far.
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: Well done.
- 1:15:18Speaker 4: Oh, I want.
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: To add war games to my list. Speaking of turning
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: the key.
- 1:15:22Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:15:22Speaker 8: Sorry, guys.
- 1:15:24Speaker 7: I'm feeling much better, but I've gone now, um, over
- 1:15:29Speaker 7: 80 days now working out and intermittent fasting and but
- 1:15:34Speaker 7: this is the longest i've ever gone since my wife
- 1:15:36Speaker 7: was pregnant with my oldest son who's 17 since i
- 1:15:39Speaker 7: gained sympathy weight when she was you know eating with
- 1:15:42Speaker 7: our first child and i still hadn't gotten rid of
- 1:15:44Speaker 7: it and i always fall off and end up like
- 1:15:47Speaker 7: find an excuse not to work out one day and
- 1:15:49Speaker 7: that turns into several days the next thing you know
- 1:15:52Speaker 7: i'm sitting on my ass eating cheetos you know so
- 1:15:55Speaker 7: any tips you guys have to Stay motivated in a
- 1:15:59Speaker 7: situation like that to not give up, to keep pushing through.
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:16:04Speaker 2: Go ahead, Zach.
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: It all comes down to the whiteboard that we preach
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: about a lot on the show. What I do, and
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: I do this every week. Well, you could do it
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: two ways, multiple ways. It's kind of reverting back to
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: when you were a kid and your parents would give
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: you a sticker for doing something positive.
- 1:16:20Speaker 7: Right.
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: It's about having a streak. So what I do is
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: I create a box of Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: And it's just simple. It's just boxes on a whiteboard.
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: But when I go to the gym and I do
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: my workout, I go and I give myself a smiley face, right? Now,
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: I do not want a fucking blank in that. I
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: want to keep my streak going. It's like the kids
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: on Snapchat. They're keeping their streaks going. I do not
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: want a break in that. And when I do, when
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: something happens and I don't do it, I feel shitty.
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: And I go and I put a big red X. Now,
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: you can do this. Another way I've done this is
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: just print out a printable calendar and buy some cheap
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: stickers off of– I've done this, by the way, when
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: I wanted to take alcohol breaks, too, because sometimes I
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: feel like, you know what? I'm drinking too much. I
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: should be. And I'll do it with I'll just get
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: a printable calendar and I'll literally put on stickers every day.
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: I don't drink or in this case, every day that
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: I work out. And I know it's silly, but it
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: taps back into what we the way we felt as kids.
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: And you're like, I don't want to. Are you kidding me?
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: I'm not going to fuck up my sticker today. I
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: want to get my sticker. I want to get my
- 1:17:22Speaker 1: smiley face. And that really has helped me. Another thing
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: a very expensive shrink told me that I'll pass on
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: to you for free is that he said not to
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: let one little dip or one little failure day set
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: you on a trajectory of going, oh, fuck it. All
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: is lost. Like that's that's bad. Like you're going to
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: if you have a day where you miss something came
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: up or maybe you just said, fuck it, whatever. Don't
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: let that then crumble the whole thing. Don't let that
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: spin you all out. Acknowledge it happened and then get
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: back on the horse.
- 1:17:53Speaker 2: That's great.
- 1:17:54Speaker 8: I like that a lot.
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: Donald, do you have anything to add?
- 1:17:56Speaker 8: That's done well for me so far.
- 1:17:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:17:59Speaker 8: Not missing a day and then being like, you know what?
- 1:18:01Speaker 8: That was just one. I'll get back at it.
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:18:05Speaker 2: You know, I struggle with this myself, Matt. And so
- 1:18:08Speaker 2: what Zach just said, I took to heart. You know
- 1:18:11Speaker 2: what I mean? I know how you feel as someone
- 1:18:15Speaker 2: who struggles with weight loss and gaining weight. My issues
- 1:18:19Speaker 2: are once I taste it, I got to taste it again.
- 1:18:22Speaker 2: You know what I mean? It's like, I I'm addicted to,
- 1:18:25Speaker 2: I'm addicted to it. So yeah, man, I, as far
- 1:18:28Speaker 2: as doing that, I don't have any tips other than
- 1:18:31Speaker 2: what Zach just said. I want, I'm going to try
- 1:18:34Speaker 2: them myself. You know what I mean?
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: I don't think I want to add is that Donald
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: constantly puts himself in a tricky situation from my perspective
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: by having it in the house. If I have a
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: pint of Ben and Jerry's in my freezer, it's going
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: to get fucking eaten. It's just not, it's like, a
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: coke head having coke on his desk. It's not going
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: to work. So I don't have it in my house. Now,
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: if I'm in a phase where I'm like, this is,
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: by the way, I'm not saying I don't indulge. This
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: is in a phase where I'm like, like trying to
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: get in shape like you're kicking ass losing weight when
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: I'm in a phase of like okay come on buddy
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: let's fucking get back at it I won't have Ben
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: and Jerry's in my house I won't have those things
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: that you can't you know for Donald it's like fried
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: chicken like I wouldn't have fried chicken in my house
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: that'd be crazy because I'd eat it so you gotta
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: you gotta put yourself in a position where the only
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: thing to eat is baby carrots and GT's kombucha and
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: things that are healthy and not fatty you know what I.
- 1:19:28Speaker 2: Mean That's the problem though, man. So I said, you
- 1:19:31Speaker 2: know what? I'm going to take all of those things
- 1:19:32Speaker 2: out of the house. And I took them all out
- 1:19:34Speaker 2: of the house and then I learned how to make them.
- 1:19:36Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: Then don't have the ingredients to make them in your house.
- 1:19:41Speaker 2: But everything can be made from natural ingredients though, dude.
- 1:19:45Speaker 2: I can make freaking a cake. from flour and sugar, motherfucker.
- 1:19:50Speaker 2: And everybody needs that.
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: I know, but they take more time, dude. It's like,
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: it's like, but if you're sitting down to make a cake,
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: then you're not really trying.
- 1:19:57Speaker 5: Come on.
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: It's like, but if there's a juicy ass cake in
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: your fridge.
- 1:19:59Speaker 8: You know what you're doing.
- 1:20:01Speaker 7: It's easier to just grab, like in my house, we
- 1:20:04Speaker 7: got lots of sugary stuff because my wife and son
- 1:20:06Speaker 7: are diabetic. We have to have stuff so they can
- 1:20:08Speaker 7: get their blood sugar up. So that's always around and
- 1:20:11Speaker 7: it's so much easier just to be like, yeah, I'll just,
- 1:20:13Speaker 7: you know, just grab one real quick. But when you
- 1:20:15Speaker 7: have to really think.
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: Matt, you're going to think I'm joking, but what if
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: they put that in a cheap safe that you didn't
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: know the combo to?
- 1:20:25Speaker 2: Well, I mean.
- 1:20:27Speaker 7: I would say that could work. However, I'm the one
- 1:20:29Speaker 7: who has everybody's passwords for everything.
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: I'm sure your wife and kid.
- 1:20:35Speaker 2: That would be a hilarious scene. Just Matt in the
- 1:20:38Speaker 2: room with the safe, just trying to break that shit open.
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: I know. They actually have a padlock top for Ben
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: and Jerry's pints. I mean, it's kind of like a
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: joke because obviously you can just fucking rip that thing open.
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: But they sell a padlocked top for Ben and Jerry's.
- 1:20:59Speaker 8: I know what I would use to break it. I've
- 1:21:00Speaker 8: got this right here.
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: Matt just brought a... I have to tell what's going on.
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: Matt just raised a giant Thor hammer into frame.
- 1:21:11Speaker 2: With the OKC Thunder.
- 1:21:12Speaker 8: I work part-time for the Oklahoma City Thunder. That's right.
- 1:21:15Speaker 8: I'm part of their hype squad.
- 1:21:17Speaker 2: Oh, right on. That's dope. When you look at the
- 1:21:20Speaker 2: Houston Rockets, when the Houston Rockets lost to the Los
- 1:21:26Speaker 2: Angeles Lakers the way that they did, how did that
- 1:21:28Speaker 2: make you feel? Let's be honest.
- 1:21:31Speaker 6: Matt?
- 1:21:32Speaker 5: It hurt.
- 1:21:33Speaker 8: It hurt because... It.
- 1:21:34Speaker 2: Hurt when the Houston Rockets lost?
- 1:21:37Speaker 8: Well, no, no. It hurt.
- 1:21:39Speaker 7: It felt good that they lost, and it felt good
- 1:21:42Speaker 7: to see that the inferior beard.
- 1:21:46Speaker 8: went down as opposed to mine.
- 1:21:49Speaker 7: But it's it was weird because like so this i've
- 1:21:53Speaker 7: been doing it since 2012 and uh i this was
- 1:21:57Speaker 7: going to be my last year and then because of
- 1:22:00Speaker 7: covid like i couldn't risk it didn't know what what
- 1:22:02Speaker 7: was going to be doing but when they said we're
- 1:22:04Speaker 7: going to be doing just online i was like i
- 1:22:06Speaker 7: can do that i can do that from home so
- 1:22:08Speaker 7: i was able to keep extending this season and then.
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: Is there a way, Matt, is there a way we
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: could see or our listeners could see you in action?
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: Is there a YouTube event or anything?
- 1:22:19Speaker 2: Well, now you can't. That's why I'm saying it hurt
- 1:22:22Speaker 2: because they lost and now he can't do the freaking thing.
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: Oh, but I'm just saying, is there a video of
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: him being a hype man somewhere?
- 1:22:28Speaker 7: I have videos and I can tweet you guys. But
- 1:22:33Speaker 7: for years, I'm like the fat Thor.
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: That's funny. But now you're going to be skinny Thor.
- 1:22:41Speaker 8: That's the plan.
- 1:22:42Speaker 7: And the Thunder is actually how I became friends with
- 1:22:46Speaker 7: the Rob, the Todd, Rob Macchio.
- 1:22:48Speaker 8: He's a big NBA fan.
- 1:22:50Speaker 5: Nice.
- 1:22:50Speaker 8: And I'm actually rocking one of his old 5'5 shirt feet.
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: Mental bodies. We love Rob. We got to have Rob
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: on the show. Joel, we got to maybe, the beginning of,
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: we're about to go into season three. We got to
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: do Rob beginning of season three.
- 1:23:08Speaker 2: Copy that.
- 1:23:09Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely.
- 1:23:10Speaker 7: I told him I was going to be on today
- 1:23:12Speaker 7: and he told me, he's like, you got this, you'll
- 1:23:13Speaker 7: crush it.
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: Well, you did crush it. You did crush it. Not
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: only are you a great guest, Matt, but also I
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: think you're an inspiration to a lot of people. I mean,
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: so many people battle weight and it doesn't matter what
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: weight you're starting at. There's so many people listening and
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: I know Donald and I battle wanting to stay healthy
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: and And I think you're a real inspiration because even
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: during COVID, you said, fuck it, I'm going to get
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: it done. And you did it. And I think I'm
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: really proud of you.
- 1:23:43Speaker 2: That being said, you're welcome.
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: You're welcome.
- 1:23:46Speaker 8: You're welcome.
- 1:23:47Speaker 2: We just fixed your life.
- 1:23:49Speaker 8: Thank you.
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: All right, Dan, give him a thunderous applause. And Matt,
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: thank you so much for coming on the show.
- 1:23:56Speaker 8: Are you guys cool if I give a quick shout
- 1:23:58Speaker 8: out real quick?
- 1:23:59Speaker 2: Yeah, go ahead.
- 1:24:01Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:24:01Speaker 7: Um, I've my, my younger brother, Justin is an ER
- 1:24:05Speaker 7: doctor in Denver.
- 1:24:06Speaker 8: Uh, so he's out there, um, fighting the COVID.
- 1:24:11Speaker 7: Um, we keep in touch very often and we have
- 1:24:14Speaker 7: like a group text between him and my other brothers,
- 1:24:16Speaker 7: like keeping each other motivated.
- 1:24:17Speaker 8: Now we're all trying to lose weight. My brother is jacked.
- 1:24:20Speaker 8: He's like this.
- 1:24:21Speaker 7: So he's already done, but the rest of us have
- 1:24:24Speaker 7: tried to get on his level.
- 1:24:25Speaker 8: So I wanted to give him a shout.
- 1:24:28Speaker 7: Out, um, for, you know, I mean, being a doctor
- 1:24:31Speaker 7: and being out there and all this craziness and everything
- 1:24:34Speaker 7: to help people and helping me get in shape and
- 1:24:37Speaker 7: the rest of my family. And I also, I have
- 1:24:43Speaker 7: a podcast called do it, Doug. It's a Kevin Smith
- 1:24:46Speaker 7: fan podcast. So, you know, I'm not trying to, I'm just, Sorry,
- 1:24:50Speaker 7: I'm getting a little excited. I got all this stuff
- 1:24:51Speaker 7: written down.
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: Matt, we try and limit the guests to two plugs.
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: You got a shout out and a plug.
- 1:24:58Speaker 8: This one is for Donald, a friend and rest friend
- 1:25:01Speaker 8: of the game. He works at compbook.com.
- 1:25:03Speaker 7: He is giving Josie and the Pussycats the Shea Serrano
- 1:25:06Speaker 7: treatment and doing.
- 1:25:08Speaker 8: A book on Josie and the Pussycats.
- 1:25:09Speaker 9: Oh, nice.
- 1:25:10Speaker 2: That's awesome.
- 1:25:11Speaker 7: I told him that I would drop that, but hopefully
- 1:25:14Speaker 7: he'll try to reach out.
- 1:25:15Speaker 8: And get some interviews with you or something. But he
- 1:25:18Speaker 8: is working on that as we speak.
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: Matt you are cut off you are cut off from
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: shout outs but you're an awesome guest and stay healthy
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: and let's keep in touch.
- 1:25:30Speaker 7: Sounds good can we take a picture real quick let
- 1:25:32Speaker 7: me get fly for.
- 1:25:33Speaker 2: You hold up let me get fly this.
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: Is a practice because we're doing our group photo today.
- 1:25:38Speaker 8: Perfect thank you guys so much.
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: Bye Matt thank you Dan thank.
- 1:25:42Speaker 8: You all easy what a great guy good work Joelle.
- 1:25:50Speaker 2: So I have a question.
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:25:54Speaker 2: When JD accidentally breaks the glass table, realizing that his
- 1:25:59Speaker 2: relationship with tasty coma wife is probably at an end.
- 1:26:02Speaker 2: He accidentally, it's not on purpose that he breaks the
- 1:26:05Speaker 2: glass table, but it breaks.
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: It riles her up.
- 1:26:07Speaker 2: And it riles her up. Have you ever been in
- 1:26:12Speaker 2: a relationship like that where you're like, look, I know
- 1:26:15Speaker 2: this isn't going to go anywhere. but I'm not ready
- 1:26:17Speaker 2: to let go yet.
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: Of course. Of course. Of course.
- 1:26:20Speaker 2: Of course. Of course.
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: How many times can I say of course?
- 1:26:23Speaker 2: But my question is, what does that do with her
- 1:26:26Speaker 2: then though, man? If all she's missing is that drama
- 1:26:32Speaker 2: and you provide the drama, my whole problem with it
- 1:26:35Speaker 2: was she had this whole time to have the drama
- 1:26:38Speaker 2: with her husband being in a coma and everything like that.
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: But she's addicted to it. She needs there to be tension.
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: She needs there to be danger. She needs there to
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: be an adrenaline rush in order to be turned on.
- 1:26:51Speaker 1: And in this case, we're kind of joking because it's
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: meant to, like, it turns her on sexually. But I
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: think there's plenty of people, male and female, who thrive
- 1:27:03Speaker 1: on there always being conflict or on there always being drama.
- 1:27:07Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:27:08Speaker 2: I can't stand those type of people, man.
- 1:27:09Speaker 1: Oh, it's horrible.
- 1:27:10Speaker 2: I can't be around that type of person, man.
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: It's horrible.
- 1:27:14Speaker 2: Like, I always wonder, how did these motherfuckers get into
- 1:27:16Speaker 2: this loud-ass argument right here? Like, you know what I mean? Like,
- 1:27:22Speaker 2: why do you think that all of us in this
- 1:27:25Speaker 2: area want to be a part of what you guys
- 1:27:28Speaker 2: are fighting about?
- 1:27:29Speaker 1: You know what I mean? You're saying it... Like it's
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: never happened to you. You've never been in a relationship
- 1:27:33Speaker 1: where the person was like causing so much conflict and
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: you're just like, really? Why does there need to be
- 1:27:38Speaker 1: all this?
- 1:27:38Speaker 2: I've gotten out of those types of relationships. That's the
- 1:27:42Speaker 2: relationship that you get out of right away. If you
- 1:27:45Speaker 2: go out with someone.
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: Well, you sometimes, you sometimes endure it because they look.
- 1:27:50Speaker 2: I see this shit on world star. I've been seeing
- 1:27:53Speaker 2: this shit on all these things where the dude takes
- 1:27:55Speaker 2: the young lady out or the young lady takes the
- 1:27:57Speaker 2: dude out, whatever it is. And one of them loses
- 1:28:01Speaker 2: their shit so much that violence or yelling or water
- 1:28:06Speaker 2: being thrown or glass breaking or something like that happens.
- 1:28:11Speaker 2: And the other person still leaves with the person. Get
- 1:28:16Speaker 2: the fuck out of here. I don't want to be
- 1:28:18Speaker 2: with you. Yeah, you got to be out of your mind.
- 1:28:20Speaker 2: If I'm at a restaurant. And you get loud at
- 1:28:25Speaker 2: the restaurant and start yelling at me at the restaurant
- 1:28:29Speaker 2: so everybody can hear. And you do a show in
- 1:28:32Speaker 2: front of all these people and then expect me to
- 1:28:35Speaker 2: take you home or get in the car with you.
- 1:28:37Speaker 2: You're out of your motherfucking mind. You gotta be. crazy.
- 1:28:41Speaker 2: You're crazy. You're, you're, I don't, I don't even want
- 1:28:43Speaker 2: to say it's crazy. Cause, cause that's not even the
- 1:28:45Speaker 2: right word. You're, you're, you're, there's no way that's happening.
- 1:28:48Speaker 2: There's no, in the words of George Bush Jr. There's
- 1:28:52Speaker 2: no way that's happening. You can't fool me twice.
- 1:28:56Speaker 4: There it is.
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: Uh, I thought it was funny when, so JD's trying
- 1:29:01Speaker 1: to like get all these dramatic moments going because it
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: turns Tasty Coma Wife on. And the one that made
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: me laugh the most, he goes, he throws his salad
- 1:29:09Speaker 1: because I don't want salad. That's why.
- 1:29:11Speaker 2: That's funny.
- 1:29:15Speaker 1: And then he's like trying to get in fights at
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: the bar. He tries to get in fights with the
- 1:29:20Speaker 1: little guy. And then it turns out that it's the
- 1:29:23Speaker 1: big guy. And he's like, no, no, it was him.
- 1:29:25Speaker 2: No, no, it was the little guy. Yeah. Oh, man.
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: But it worked. That's when she does her double finger
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: almost nipple lick.
- 1:29:36Speaker 2: Or nipple rub. Whichever one.
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: Yeah. Don't you see? If you go back and watch it,
- 1:29:39Speaker 1: that's what she was about to do. She's like this.
- 1:29:41Speaker 1: And then she's like, that's not appropriate.
- 1:29:43Speaker 2: I'll do that.
- 1:29:48Speaker 1: I love that they kept that in. That was funny. Innuendo.
- 1:29:52Speaker 1: We have to talk about it because Bill requested it.
- 1:29:54Speaker 2: Bill requested it.
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: Great double entendre. Classic Innuendo.
- 1:29:59Speaker 2: In your end, though.
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: They replaced Don't You Forget About Me from Simple Minds
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: in the one I saw. Was yours replaced?
- 1:30:07Speaker 2: Wait, hold up. They replaced Don't Forget About Me?
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: The song is by the band Simple Minds and from
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: Breakfast Club when he puts his.
- 1:30:14Speaker 2: Fist in the air.
- 1:30:16Speaker 4: Hey, hey, hey, hey.
- 1:30:17Speaker 2: Boom, boom, boom, boom.
- 1:30:22Speaker 8: Boom, boom.
- 1:30:24Speaker 2: That's the one. Boom, boom, boom, boom, boom. Don't you
- 1:30:33Speaker 2: forget about me.
- 1:30:36Speaker 8: I've heard her say.
- 1:30:39Speaker 1: Anyway, in my iTunes one, it had been changed.
- 1:30:43Speaker 2: Oh, I didn't know the difference, actually.
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: You didn't notice the song was gone? You watch on Hulu, right?
- 1:30:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:30:50Speaker 1: Oh, maybe on Hulu it's still there. I don't know.
- 1:30:52Speaker 2: It might not be, but I didn't know what the
- 1:30:54Speaker 2: song was originally.
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: No, no, it was Don't You Forget About Me, and
- 1:30:59Speaker 1: now I had some other song that wasn't that.
- 1:31:01Speaker 2: Oh, okay.
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: Oh, how about I convince Elliot that Slut is a.
- 1:31:07Speaker 9: Hey, Slut!
- 1:31:07Speaker 1: And she says it to Eloma, and Eloma goes, what now?
- 1:31:10Speaker 2: What now? But the fact that that's what... I also
- 1:31:15Speaker 2: like that that's one of the things that you use
- 1:31:17Speaker 2: to get Tasty Coma Wife to sleep with you. You
- 1:31:23Speaker 2: turn Elliot into one of her reasons for being jealous,
- 1:31:28Speaker 2: one of her reasons for having trauma. You know what
- 1:31:30Speaker 2: I mean?
- 1:31:31Speaker 1: And Elliot plays along. She slaps me in the cafeteria
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: to play along. By the way, Elliot feels no jealousy
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: at all. I mean, for someone who's going to, who
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: are going to eventually end up together, it's just, it
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: was just interesting that the character is totally fine. She's
- 1:31:48Speaker 1: just not affected by J.D. being in this relationship with
- 1:31:50Speaker 1: this beautiful woman at all.
- 1:31:52Speaker 2: Well, yeah, you know, they don't show her being jealous.
- 1:31:56Speaker 2: I imagine that. I like to think that Elliot was
- 1:31:59Speaker 2: jealous this whole time.
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: Well, she plays it really well for someone who's, you know.
- 1:32:04Speaker 2: Like, did Ross know that Rachel was jealous when he
- 1:32:08Speaker 2: got with Emily? You know what I mean? Like, shit
- 1:32:10Speaker 2: like that. Like, is it easy to see those type
- 1:32:13Speaker 2: of things? We're going on a ride. For the most part,
- 1:32:16Speaker 2: you're telling the story. JD's telling the story of Scrubs.
- 1:32:20Speaker 2: And so we're pretty much seeing what his mind sees.
- 1:32:23Speaker 2: You know what I mean?
- 1:32:24Speaker 1: Oh, so you're saying, but you're not saying, like, the
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: story itself is skewed to J.D. 's perspective.
- 1:32:33Speaker 2: For the most part, I think for the most part
- 1:32:35Speaker 2: it is.
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: No, I mean, the storytelling is, but you're not saying like,
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: I mean, you're not saying like, oh, we're seeing Elliot
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: be unaffected because the story's from J.D. 's perspective and
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: she's unaffected.
- 1:32:46Speaker 2: Well, I think that's a better way. No, I don't
- 1:32:48Speaker 2: think that. I don't think that at all.
- 1:32:50Speaker 1: I don't either.
- 1:32:51Speaker 2: I do believe, personally, that Elliot is affected by all
- 1:32:54Speaker 2: of this and it'll come out later on in the
- 1:32:56Speaker 2: future when she talks about it. She'll make the effort
- 1:33:00Speaker 2: to talk about it. You know what I mean?
- 1:33:03Speaker 1: What's going on up there, Joelle? You're playing with the mug?
- 1:33:05Speaker 6: The gifts I got for my friends came.
- 1:33:07Speaker 5: Oh, nice.
- 1:33:08Speaker 6: They're cocoa mugs from Disney.
- 1:33:10Speaker 5: Oh, nice.
- 1:33:11Speaker 6: Pixar. And when you pour a hot liquid in it,
- 1:33:13Speaker 6: it changes colors.
- 1:33:14Speaker 2: Oh, my God. That's what we want.
- 1:33:16Speaker 1: That's what we want.
- 1:33:17Speaker 9: I know.
- 1:33:18Speaker 6: It's super cute. We're going to figure it out.
- 1:33:20Speaker 2: Because I want this for you guys, too.
- 1:33:21Speaker 1: Joelle, we want that. I want it to be me
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: and Donald. And then when you put hot beverage in,
- 1:33:26Speaker 1: it turns to you guys.
- 1:33:27Speaker 6: I think we have to do one on each side
- 1:33:29Speaker 6: and then it'll go from black and white to color.
- 1:33:31Speaker 6: I think that's how we have to do it. That's
- 1:33:33Speaker 6: how this cup works.
- 1:33:34Speaker 1: I just felt like when we were talking to the
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: merch guys, they were like, oh, those are going to
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: be expensive and no one's going to want to buy
- 1:33:39Speaker 1: them because by the time you manufacture, everyone's going to.
- 1:33:41Speaker 8: Want to buy them.
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: Well, we got a lot of merch coming, by the way.
- 1:33:43Speaker 1: Speaking of merch, a lot of funny stuff in the pipeline.
- 1:33:46Speaker 2: Just in time for Christmas, you're going to get some
- 1:33:48Speaker 2: really cool things. We're not going to give it away.
- 1:33:50Speaker 1: Okay, we're not going to give it away? Okay. And
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: so if you go on our thing and you're like,
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: because we have t-shirts now and other stuff, and if
- 1:33:56Speaker 1: you're like, oh, this is boring, it's just their faces,
- 1:33:58Speaker 1: don't worry. We just want to open the store. We
- 1:34:00Speaker 1: got some funny shit coming.
- 1:34:01Speaker 6: We should tell them where to find that, too.
- 1:34:03Speaker 1: Yes, how do I find it, Sherwell?
- 1:34:05Speaker 6: That's a good question. Let me pull up from Harper,
- 1:34:09Speaker 6: who helps us with all of this stuff. She sent
- 1:34:11Speaker 6: us an email address.
- 1:34:13Speaker 1: Harper's a woman?
- 1:34:14Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: I always thought Harper was a man.
- 1:34:17Speaker 6: Because she conducts herself like business.
- 1:34:19Speaker 1: No no I just I thought Harper was one of
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: those names that could be either or I think.
- 1:34:24Speaker 4: I think it is I.
- 1:34:27Speaker 6: Think it's unisex I think you can use it or
- 1:34:29Speaker 6: whatever yeah sure.
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: Alright what's the address.
- 1:34:31Speaker 6: Where is this link ugh there are a thousand emails
- 1:34:34Speaker 6: you know what guys here's what I'll do I'll put
- 1:34:35Speaker 6: it in our show notes okay.
- 1:34:37Speaker 1: Okay so that way you guys can find it it'll
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: be in our show notes and Donald and I will
- 1:34:41Speaker 1: tweet out about it or something should we take our
- 1:34:44Speaker 1: class picture now while we're still live on the air Now,
- 1:34:46Speaker 1: I think bring your faces kind of close like this
- 1:34:49Speaker 1: so we can get, you know. Donald, come closer. God,
- 1:34:52Speaker 1: you look good. I love you on Westworld. No, get
- 1:34:55Speaker 1: a little closer.
- 1:34:57Speaker 8: Ready?
- 1:34:57Speaker 1: Who's going to do the screenshot? Who's taking the picture?
- 1:34:59Speaker 8: Is it me?
- 1:34:59Speaker 1: Daniel, you are. You're the tech guy, Daniel.
- 1:35:01Speaker 8: One sec, one sec, one sec.
- 1:35:01Speaker 1: Everybody ready?
- 1:35:03Speaker 4: One, two, three. All right.
- 1:35:06Speaker 1: Send those to us and we'll pick them. All right, everybody.
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: That was our class photo. What do you want to say, Donald?
- 1:35:12Speaker 1: Thank you, everyone, for listening. We appreciate you. We love you.
- 1:35:14Speaker 1: Stay safe.
- 1:35:16Speaker 2: Stay safe. Stay vigilant. In the words of the vice president,
- 1:35:21Speaker 2: be kind.
- 1:35:22Speaker 1: Be kind.
- 1:35:22Speaker 2: In the words of Americans out there who are searching
- 1:35:25Speaker 2: for kindness.
- 1:35:26Speaker 1: Yeah, and do unto others as you would have them
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: do unto you. I just made that up.
- 1:35:32Speaker 2: That's good advice. That's good advice.
- 1:35:34Speaker 8: Oh, sorry.
- 1:35:34Speaker 1: Lastly, Cotton Bureau. C-O-T-T-O-N-B-U-R-E-A-U.com. Cottonbureau.com. That's the site that handles

- 1:36:04Speaker 1: And look out for us on the iHeart Music Awards,
- 1:36:08Speaker 1: where Donald and I will be introducing a....
- 1:36:12Speaker 8: A beep.
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: We'll be introducing a beep. All right. Donald, why don't
- 1:36:19Speaker 1: we have either Joelle or Daniel count us in? Because
- 1:36:22Speaker 1: that's an honor. That's a time we bestowed on them.
- 1:36:24Speaker 1: Look at Joelle's face. I think we've got to choose Joelle.
- 1:36:26Speaker 2: No, no, no. Daniel, please.
- 1:36:28Speaker 4: I was excited for Daniel. Nope, nope.
- 1:36:29Speaker 1: You honor him.
- 1:36:30Speaker 2: You honor him.
- 1:36:30Speaker 8: Nope, nope, nope.
- 1:36:31Speaker 2: Joelle, do it.
- 1:36:32Speaker 4: Joelle, you got this.
- 1:36:33Speaker 1: Joelle, you got this. I believe in you.
- 1:36:35Speaker 6: Okay, all right.
- 1:36:35Speaker 8: Here we go.
- 1:36:37Speaker 2: Five, six, seven, eight.
- 1:36:42Speaker 1: About a bunch of docs and nurses and a janitor
- 1:36:45Speaker 1: who loved making asses.
- 1:36:46Speaker 2: He's got stories that we all should know.
- 1:36:51Speaker 9: So gather round to hear our, gather round.
- 1:36:55Speaker 4: To hear our Scrubs Rewatch Show with Zach and Donald.
- 1:36:59Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
