Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: By the way, speaking of basketball, Caitlyn Clark now has
- 0:04Speaker 1: the rookie record the history of the WNBA as she's
- 0:09Speaker 1: now going to try to set the all time record.
- 0:12Speaker 1: But twelve games to go. Now, this is happening exactly
- 0:16Speaker 1: how I scripted it. I told you this is going.
- 0:18Speaker 1: They loaded up the schedule front end, front loaded Caitlyn
- 0:22Speaker 1: Clark on a bad team, you know, the worst team
- 0:25Speaker 1: because they drafted her number one. They were going to
- 0:29Speaker 1: load up against better competition. And she played an entire
- 0:34Speaker 1: college basketball season and she didn't play well. And I
- 0:37Speaker 1: said at the time she didn't deserve to be on
- 0:40Speaker 1: the Olympic team. And at the time I felt that,
- 0:44Speaker 1: but she got rest, the schedule not as demanding, and
- 0:49Speaker 1: now you're seeing Caitlyn Clark. And for everybody who talked about, oh,
- 0:53Speaker 1: you know, she's just a shooter's going she's already set
- 0:57Speaker 1: the all time rookie assist record for somebody who's the
- 1:01Speaker 1: greatest scorer in college basketball history, and she is an
- 1:05Speaker 1: increased See I think that was lost on a lot
- 1:08Speaker 1: of people. Her ability to be able to find the
- 1:12Speaker 1: open person, it's something that you're born with and if
- 1:17Speaker 1: you're one of her teammates and she's coming in and
- 1:19Speaker 1: I said at the time, she will try to ingratiate
- 1:22Speaker 1: herself as a teammate by passing first instead of shooting first.
- 1:27Speaker 1: And that's exactly what's happened. And she's played incredibly well.
- 1:31Speaker 1: They've played incredibly well, and I know we want to
- 1:34Speaker 1: make this the rookie of the Year debate. Angel Reese
- 1:39Speaker 1: is a wonderful player. She just had twenty rebounds. She's
- 1:43Speaker 1: a double double guarantee. Absolutely, But anybody who tries to
- 1:47Speaker 1: sell you on this is selling you on something to
- 1:51Speaker 1: get clicks. That's all this is there. This is a phenomenon.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Caitlin Clark is a phenomenon. And if I said to
- 1:59Speaker 1: any of these people who think Caitlyn Clark is not
- 2:01Speaker 1: the rookie of the Year, I'd say, who would you
- 2:03Speaker 1: want to start your franchise with. Now, I'm not going
- 2:06Speaker 1: to put Asia Wilson in there. I'm just saying between
- 2:08Speaker 1: these two, Angel Reese is a wonderful player, but she
- 2:13Speaker 1: does not compare to what and who Caitlin Clark is
- 2:17Speaker 1: when she's on the basketball floor, plain and simple. But
- 2:20Speaker 1: we want to make it a debate, and I think
- 2:22Speaker 1: that that's just to get clicks. And look, Angel Reese,
- 2:27Speaker 1: there's nothing that she does where you go did you
- 2:29Speaker 1: see her other than she plays really, really hard, and
- 2:32Speaker 1: I liken her game to Moses Malone. Moses Malone was relentless.
- 2:37Speaker 1: So it's not that I don't appreciate who she is
- 2:39Speaker 1: or how she plays. There is no one, no one
- 2:43Speaker 1: like Caitlin Clark in the history of the WNBA. I mean,
- 2:49Speaker 1: you had somebody who was the all time leading scorer
- 2:52Speaker 1: in college basketball history who plays for Las Vegas, and
- 2:56Speaker 1: nobody talked about her. Nobody talked about Kelsey, wonderful player,
- 3:02Speaker 1: Nobody talked about her. Caitlin Clark is just different. And
- 3:05Speaker 1: you saw that yesterday again they beat a good team
- 3:09Speaker 1: and she was great. But her ability to get her
- 3:13Speaker 1: teammates involved is what's going to stand out to me
- 3:16Speaker 1: with the rookie season, to remind you of just how
- 3:19Speaker 1: great she is seeing the floor yes point and.
- 3:22Speaker 2: How much does the WNBA like it. The na Fever
- 3:24Speaker 2: look like they're going to make the playoffs. They've been winning.
- 3:26Speaker 2: They're in the seventh spot right now. If the playoffs
- 3:28Speaker 2: were now, the first round would be Connecticut Sun versus
- 3:31Speaker 2: Indiana fever and that's pretty good. That will play nashally well.
- 3:34Speaker 1: That was the first game of the season of her career. Yeah,
- 3:37Speaker 1: it was against Connecticut. Yes, Marvin.
- 3:39Speaker 2: And next season the WNBA All Star Game is going
- 3:42Speaker 2: to be in Indianapolis.
- 3:45Speaker 1: Is that a good thing? I don't Paulie said, no.
- 3:49Speaker 2: I didn't think you needed to do it. The Clark
- 3:52Speaker 2: goes wherever the All Star Game is. You didn't need
- 3:55Speaker 2: to necessarily have You don't need to grow the game
- 3:57Speaker 2: in Indiana. Right now, they're all good Indianapolis with the
- 4:01Speaker 2: state of the WNBA. I was taken Caitlin Clark and
- 4:04Speaker 2: brought her to another city, whatever it may be. And
- 4:07Speaker 2: I know it's an easy it's a layup, no pun
- 4:10Speaker 2: to have in Indiana, They're going to get a monster turnout.
- 4:12Speaker 2: But I'd rather have her on the road, bringing her
- 4:15Speaker 2: game and everyone else's game to another city.
