- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, man, bulet Cap Podcast special guest, the guy
- 0:02Speaker 1: Gee Perico is in here. Man, Welcome, Man, what are
- 0:05Speaker 1: you trying to do this for a while? Man, I'm
- 0:07Speaker 1: glad to finally get you up here. Bro. Man, it
- 0:09Speaker 1: was a rough morning. My fucking car got told and
- 0:12Speaker 1: we're here. My fucking my other car wouldn't start this.
- 0:15Speaker 1: I was gonna draw my low key say if it
- 0:17Speaker 1: wouldn't start. But was it old school? Nah, it's a
- 0:20Speaker 1: twenty twenty. I hadn't drove it in like eight months,
- 0:23Speaker 1: and then I drove it the other day and I
- 0:26Speaker 1: had to get a jump, and then this morning it
- 0:27Speaker 1: didn't start again. I'm like, fuck, Well, look you're here, man, Welcome,
- 0:31Speaker 1: And first of all, you've had an interesting journey in
- 0:34Speaker 1: this music shit right, So like originally I remember, you know,
- 0:39Speaker 1: when you were starting to Buzz, you tapped in with
- 0:41Speaker 1: Fuzz over at Priority. Yeah. Yeah, yeah, the Priority thing
- 0:44Speaker 1: didn't work out at all. I'm not saying it didn't
- 0:47Speaker 1: work out Priority Bill, They shit it like went left right,
- 0:52Speaker 1: but it helped me a lot right right, like they
- 0:54Speaker 1: did good with you. But I just think like obviously
- 0:56Speaker 1: Priority didn't last. Priority didn't. That shit was around for
- 0:59Speaker 1: like a year, right right right then you end up
- 1:02Speaker 1: with rock Nation, which was you know, I feel like
- 1:06Speaker 1: rock Nation is an interesting company because it's so great
- 1:09Speaker 1: at so many things. But I'm not sure the label
- 1:12Speaker 1: side fits la artist. How was your experience because it
- 1:19Speaker 1: was about two years you were there? Yeah, two years?
- 1:21Speaker 1: How was the two years over over there? I mean
- 1:25Speaker 1: the way I look at it, like, you know, outside
- 1:28Speaker 1: of the label, because the label was it was musical chairs,
- 1:30Speaker 1: like they was trying to figure out they got They
- 1:32Speaker 1: went through so many employees. I remember every like it
- 1:35Speaker 1: felt like every nine months there was like everyone the
- 1:37Speaker 1: rock Nation got fired and they hired a bunch of
- 1:39Speaker 1: it was it was. It was crazy. Yeah, sooner than that,
- 1:41Speaker 1: I went to a few different project managers and so
- 1:44Speaker 1: they was trying to figure it that out. But like
- 1:47Speaker 1: my whole thing, like I learned so much being able
- 1:49Speaker 1: to be over there, because I get to I get
- 1:52Speaker 1: to talk to sit in the office with Jay Brown,
- 1:55Speaker 1: and I get to sit with Emory like they like
- 1:58Speaker 1: every day with Emory though calls every more. I just
- 2:01Speaker 1: talked to him this morning, and that's like that's a
- 2:05Speaker 1: billion dollar circle. How often do you get to hang
- 2:07Speaker 1: around a billion dollar circle. So I'm like a fly
- 2:10Speaker 1: on the wall soaking up game and like that part
- 2:14Speaker 1: of the situation was priceless. So so you know, I
- 2:18Speaker 1: don't it was great for me. For you getting off
- 2:23Speaker 1: Rocktation and deciding to go with Empire going to independent route,
- 2:29Speaker 1: what was the deciding point for you? And and were
- 2:32Speaker 1: you like did you ask to get off the label?
- 2:34Speaker 1: Like how did that happen? Yeah? So, I mean naturally
- 2:37Speaker 1: I'm an independent dude, you know what I'm saying. That's
- 2:39Speaker 1: how you got here. I don't like like having to
- 2:44Speaker 1: basically asked for permission to do anything, like you know
- 2:47Speaker 1: what I mean, because like this is this is art
- 2:50Speaker 1: and it's no specific way that you do ship. When
- 2:53Speaker 1: you get with a label, you stuck in this, in
- 2:56Speaker 1: this box, I'll call it the chain of command that
- 2:59Speaker 1: you got to go through this and man, they gotta
- 3:01Speaker 1: understand your idea and then you got to go through
- 3:03Speaker 1: Its a lot. It's too much, you know what I'm saying.
- 3:05Speaker 1: So I never really wanted to sign a record deal
- 3:08Speaker 1: in the first place, you know what I mean. So
- 3:10Speaker 1: you know, as time went on, it was just you know,
- 3:12Speaker 1: time for me to jet. I asked to go and
- 3:15Speaker 1: they real true players. You know what I'm saying. They
- 3:17Speaker 1: let me go. Like I was out, I requested to go,
- 3:21Speaker 1: and I was out in a week. You know what
- 3:23Speaker 1: I mean? Yeah, I think like the type of shit
- 3:27Speaker 1: you make, bro, It's like it's like you being independent
- 3:32Speaker 1: makes the most sense exactly. You stacking up your catalog.
- 3:35Speaker 1: You just kind of keep building on what you have,
- 3:38Speaker 1: that core following that you have. You know what I'm saying,
- 3:41Speaker 1: how has it like? You know, the last year? I
- 3:45Speaker 1: feel like it's been about what nine months since you've
- 3:48Speaker 1: been on the Empire? A year? Yeah? About nine about
- 3:51Speaker 1: nine months? Nine months? Yeah? Yeah? So how has that been? October?
- 3:55Speaker 1: Ten months? It's crazy, it's October ten months, so we're
- 3:58Speaker 1: going on ten months. How's it been? Man? Because obviously
- 4:01Speaker 1: I feel like if the music output has been high
- 4:03Speaker 1: and man awesome, bro, like I could see everything and
- 4:07Speaker 1: you know the thing with Empire that's dope, Like they
- 4:10Speaker 1: get you the rope. You know what I'm saying. You
- 4:12Speaker 1: could either hang yourself with it or climb up you
- 4:14Speaker 1: know what I mean. And it's like, you know, when
- 4:17Speaker 1: you sign with a major label, right, it go like this,
- 4:20Speaker 1: you get your what I should have did when I
- 4:22Speaker 1: signed with the major, I should have took my advance
- 4:25Speaker 1: instead of going to do my shit and Sean, you
- 4:27Speaker 1: know I love cards and shit. Instead of doing that,
- 4:30Speaker 1: I should have spent all that money on the music
- 4:34Speaker 1: and shit myself and just got the money back from
- 4:37Speaker 1: him later. Yeah, because you had to use that budget,
- 4:39Speaker 1: and then that budget you got to pay that back
- 4:42Speaker 1: right on top of the advance. And so I should
- 4:43Speaker 1: have just took the advance and jump started myself. But
- 4:47Speaker 1: see this the thing between indies and majors, well, Empire.
- 4:50Speaker 1: I don't know all indies, but like Empire, and then
- 4:53Speaker 1: I had a situation with priority. Just the thing like
- 4:56Speaker 1: when you sign with a major, they give your advance,
- 4:59Speaker 1: but you gotta have some shit going or you gotta
- 5:03Speaker 1: have the entire office convinced for your budget to even
- 5:06Speaker 1: open up, you know what I'm saying. So you gotta
- 5:08Speaker 1: jump through loops and do a gang of shit to
- 5:10Speaker 1: even get going in the first place, even after you signed,
- 5:13Speaker 1: after you did all the work and sign for them
- 5:15Speaker 1: to approve video budgets and all of this shit gotta
- 5:18Speaker 1: make sense. It's so much shit, so much fucking red tape,
- 5:22Speaker 1: that you gotta cut through Now with Empire, whatever you
- 5:26Speaker 1: fucking sign, whatever your budget is is right there. You
- 5:30Speaker 1: could go get straight to it immediately. You ain't got
- 5:33Speaker 1: to waste no time. Now if you fuck it off,
- 5:35Speaker 1: that's on you. Now. If you do your thing then
- 5:39Speaker 1: I mean naturally, if you're a businessman, you're gonna do
- 5:41Speaker 1: your thing. So I mean that's the great part about Empire,
- 5:45Speaker 1: Like they just let you go. Well speak to that, like,
- 5:47Speaker 1: because I do think a lot of mistakes that get
- 5:49Speaker 1: made is what you just said, right, You got an
- 5:52Speaker 1: advance from a major and maybe you didn't spend it
- 5:55Speaker 1: in the smartest way, and I'm expluraging, and a lot
- 6:00Speaker 1: of people don't realize, like, you know, you get that
- 6:02Speaker 1: advance and your music has to make that much money
- 6:07Speaker 1: back times whatever your terms are. Otherwise the conversations get
- 6:11Speaker 1: dry and well also also otherwise you're you're not gonna
- 6:16Speaker 1: see any money off your music, you know what I mean,
- 6:18Speaker 1: Like that's your big nut and you got to kind
- 6:20Speaker 1: of make that shit stretch, you know what I'm saying.
- 6:22Speaker 1: So what was like, like, if you're if you're you know,
- 6:26Speaker 1: young independent artists watching this, what would be some advice
- 6:28Speaker 1: you'd give them? As far as you know, taking the
- 6:30Speaker 1: advance or I mean, I would say, like with the advance,
- 6:34Speaker 1: invested like straight back in yourself, pay some bills, but
- 6:38Speaker 1: invested straight back into the business. Because at the end
- 6:41Speaker 1: of the day, if the music not going and you
- 6:44Speaker 1: ain't got nothing cracking in the people face and marketing
- 6:47Speaker 1: and going, like what that advance mean, Like you got
- 6:50Speaker 1: chain and some money and some it means zero, you
- 6:53Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. So I would say, like from
- 6:56Speaker 1: my personal experience, I didn't do it. I wish I
- 6:59Speaker 1: would have did it with that specific play. You know
- 7:02Speaker 1: what I'm saying, it'd probably be a different situation right now.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Take the advance and invest it in yourself marketing and
- 7:08Speaker 1: promo videos, digital campaigns like spending on that, you know
- 7:14Speaker 1: what I mean, and make the label open up your
- 7:16Speaker 1: budget or you know. But it's also crazy too because
- 7:20Speaker 1: like once you're on a major label, it seems as
- 7:23Speaker 1: if things get everything gets more expensive, everything is more
- 7:28Speaker 1: like you go into the studio, Like as an independent artist,
- 7:33Speaker 1: you go to the studio. I mean, sure, you could
- 7:35Speaker 1: book my studio for sixty bucks an hour with an engineer.
- 7:38Speaker 1: They gonna put you at paramount whatever and then you'll
- 7:41Speaker 1: see the bill on your and you're like, wait a minute,
- 7:44Speaker 1: how wait what? Yeah? Yeah, it's like everything even the video,
- 7:49Speaker 1: it's like yo, like like like I was saying, like, bro,
- 7:51Speaker 1: you got here doing doing doing you. You know what
- 7:54Speaker 1: I'm saying. You got your own video people you got
- 7:56Speaker 1: I mean, it's your city, you know what I'm saying.
- 7:58Speaker 1: So I think a lot of people don't realize, like
- 8:00Speaker 1: pay attention to the little details when they do something
- 8:03Speaker 1: like hey man, not every studio session needs to cost
- 8:06Speaker 1: that's three hundred dollars an hour, because before you know it,
- 8:09Speaker 1: you'll be like, uh, they'll send you or you audit
- 8:12Speaker 1: the books or ask how much you spent and they'd
- 8:15Speaker 1: be like, yeah, one point five million, and you'd be like,
- 8:18Speaker 1: wam where the fun where spend? Yeah? How much you spent?
- 8:24Speaker 1: I spent some money. You spent some money, I'm assuming,
- 8:27Speaker 1: so let me be cause like, did you recoup it?
- 8:29Speaker 1: Rock Nation? Nah? Not all the way did they? But
- 8:33Speaker 1: they were cool with just kind of saying you know what.
- 8:34Speaker 1: So it's basically like, uh, they got your catalog that
- 8:37Speaker 1: you dropped over there. Yeah, not on a few dollars,
- 8:40Speaker 1: not a lot though, but you could drop freely now
- 8:43Speaker 1: without having to Yeah, I can do whatever. I'm on
- 8:46Speaker 1: solid on their part. Nah, they like. That's like the
- 8:50Speaker 1: thing about like rock Nation, like I never have anything
- 8:54Speaker 1: bad to say, Like it's dope. People over here like
- 8:56Speaker 1: awesome people for sure, you know what I mean. It's
- 8:59Speaker 1: just I feel like I just didn't have my thing
- 9:03Speaker 1: all the way figured out, and you know, like me personally,
- 9:06Speaker 1: when I got something figured out, I'm aggressively moving in
- 9:09Speaker 1: that direction. So it was kind of like I was
- 9:12Speaker 1: in limbo trying to I was like a fish out
- 9:15Speaker 1: of water in certain situations, you know what I mean.
- 9:18Speaker 1: But like everybody over there great, oh Mars Sherry, Like
- 9:21Speaker 1: I said, Emory is my guy, you know what I'm saying,
- 9:24Speaker 1: So that Emory, I hope one day I interviewed Emory
- 9:29Speaker 1: and talk about his story because his story is crazy. Yeah,
- 9:33Speaker 1: you think about like I mean, I guess maybe just
- 9:37Speaker 1: the perception of what happened, Like he kind of took
- 9:39Speaker 1: it on the chin for hole, you know what I'm saying.
- 9:41Speaker 1: So Hope could stay out and do it stay and
- 9:43Speaker 1: then he gets out and he's brending Rockney's It's it's
- 9:46Speaker 1: so fire. Yeah, shout out to emy. So you've also
- 9:49Speaker 1: been like doing a lot just on the entrepreneur ship,
- 9:52Speaker 1: Like you launched your obviously you got the shirt on. Yeah,
- 9:55Speaker 1: blue T shirt. Blue T shirts becoming a staple. Yes,
- 9:59Speaker 1: this is like the best ship that I fucking created. Bro.
- 10:02Speaker 1: I didn't expect it to do what it's been doing.
- 10:05Speaker 1: But uh man, this shit is crazy. Yeah for people,
- 10:08Speaker 1: I mean, obviously the concept is amazing. Yeah, because you know,
- 10:11Speaker 1: for people who don't know your affiliations, they can google them.
- 10:14Speaker 1: We're not going to talk about them officially. But it's
- 10:17Speaker 1: a white shirt with red lettering, but it says this
- 10:19Speaker 1: is a blue T shirt. Yeah. Yeah. So I mean
- 10:23Speaker 1: when I when I started it, I was sitting in
- 10:25Speaker 1: the back of one of my shops and shit, and
- 10:27Speaker 1: I'm like, man, I want to start something new because
- 10:29Speaker 1: the last ship that I had was the way I
- 10:32Speaker 1: branded it, it was so limited to my hood at
- 10:34Speaker 1: this point that shit is just a click in my
- 10:37Speaker 1: hood at this point, you know what I'm saying. So
- 10:38Speaker 1: it's like, Man, what can I do universal to, you know,
- 10:42Speaker 1: really get the bag and really get through the people
- 10:44Speaker 1: without having to explain a long shit on what this is.
- 10:50Speaker 1: And like, this is self explanatory, like however you take it,
- 10:54Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. At the end of the day,
- 10:55Speaker 1: it's perception, but like you know, so many people, uh
- 11:00Speaker 1: fuck with it, like you know what I'm saying, like, oh,
- 11:03Speaker 1: white guys, young kids, like old ladies, young everybody like
- 11:09Speaker 1: you know, gravitates to the to the blue T shirt ship.
- 11:12Speaker 1: And when I dropped it, it went so crazy, Like
- 11:16Speaker 1: I never had sales like that on anything. You know
- 11:18Speaker 1: what I'm saying. That ship was crazy. No, it's it's
- 11:21Speaker 1: it's dope because I mean you've got the tattoos, which
- 11:23Speaker 1: is fire. I just think it's simple. It's simple, and
- 11:28Speaker 1: it's like clean as fuck to wear. And like you said,
- 11:31Speaker 1: like you know, if someone gets it sow way out sweater,
- 11:34Speaker 1: that's not to explain. Yeah, you know, you know what
- 11:37Speaker 1: I'm saying exactly, Like this is just something where it's
- 11:39Speaker 1: like there's probably kids in Oklahoma rock on that shirt
- 11:41Speaker 1: right now or some ship, you know what I'm saying.
- 11:43Speaker 1: And it's definitely a we gotta we got a nice
- 11:46Speaker 1: little audience out here. Something that I feel like you've
- 11:49Speaker 1: done a good job of doing in LA is working
- 11:53Speaker 1: with a wide spectrum of artists here, And I want
- 11:56Speaker 1: to say you were kind of like the class before
- 12:00Speaker 1: the Roucies and the Hikes and those guys like you
- 12:03Speaker 1: were active before them in the music game. But I
- 12:06Speaker 1: kind of feel like you are a part of that
- 12:07Speaker 1: initial class that was like not as divided as we've
- 12:13Speaker 1: seen LA be in the past. Yeah, definitely. And with
- 12:17Speaker 1: LA hip hop, there's always politics no matter what happens, right, Yeah,
- 12:21Speaker 1: for sure. And you know we've seen street politics equal
- 12:27Speaker 1: artists that want to work with each other not working
- 12:28Speaker 1: with each other in the past, for sure, you know
- 12:30Speaker 1: what I mean. Like I remember talking to c about,
- 12:32Speaker 1: like why you never work with Nipsey and it's obvious,
- 12:34Speaker 1: right yeah. But at the same time, like I feel
- 12:37Speaker 1: like the new generation of Los Angeles artists, to a
- 12:42Speaker 1: higher extent than I've ever seen at least, have done
- 12:46Speaker 1: a great job of either putting that stuff to the
- 12:48Speaker 1: side and working together or just automatically just tapping in
- 12:51Speaker 1: with each other. And obviously there's always going to be
- 12:53Speaker 1: some drama, you know what I'm saying. But what is
- 12:55Speaker 1: it about LA right now that you feel like has
- 12:58Speaker 1: a really united feel to it? You know, naturally, this
- 13:05Speaker 1: is the Gang City, the Gang culture. So like you said,
- 13:08Speaker 1: it's uh, you know, people that I run with might
- 13:11Speaker 1: not get along with. You know, people that I want
- 13:14Speaker 1: to work with run with. But what's going on right
- 13:16Speaker 1: now is like a lot of the artists that's up
- 13:20Speaker 1: be coming not really gang affiliated to a certain extent,
- 13:25Speaker 1: you know what I mean. A lot of people didn't
- 13:27Speaker 1: they didn't grow up gang banging or don't really have
- 13:30Speaker 1: like the super gang bangers around in the mix. And
- 13:35Speaker 1: it's it's it's just a lot more players, a lot
- 13:37Speaker 1: more people about their money, you know what I'm saying,
- 13:40Speaker 1: And the ship and I think it's dope, you know
- 13:41Speaker 1: what I'm saying. I actually was tripping one day when
- 13:46Speaker 1: I when I noticed what was going on. I'm like, shit,
- 13:49Speaker 1: everybody working together and it's no problems, you know what
- 13:52Speaker 1: I'm saying, which is like never happened out here. Hopefully
- 13:56Speaker 1: it keep going. But hopefully it keeps going. It's just like,
- 14:00Speaker 1: you know, a lot of people able to look past it,
- 14:04Speaker 1: and then a lot of people like not wrapped up
- 14:07Speaker 1: in the gang shit so deep that you know, they
- 14:10Speaker 1: letting that shit hinder whatever happened. I wish I was
- 14:13Speaker 1: that good, you know what I'm saying, I'm like, I'm
- 14:15Speaker 1: tied into the shit. Like yre's certain people I'm never
- 14:18Speaker 1: gonna work with, like and they might be cool or whatnot,
- 14:21Speaker 1: but it's just like just like where I come from
- 14:25Speaker 1: and the shit that I believe in, it's like, you know,
- 14:28Speaker 1: it's or I just got to just know that a
- 14:30Speaker 1: person is genuine, you know what I'm saying, Because I
- 14:33Speaker 1: don't want to be doing music with somebody and then
- 14:35Speaker 1: later on they cool with me, but they on some
- 14:38Speaker 1: shit this in my hood or something like, you know,
- 14:40Speaker 1: So I think that's what stopped a lot of shit previously,
- 14:44Speaker 1: and what's bringing shit together is like, motherfucker's not really
- 14:49Speaker 1: like yeah, like you talk to like like kids and
- 14:52Speaker 1: they'll be like, yo, like I really didn't grow up
- 14:54Speaker 1: that way. My uncles were or you know, I grew
- 14:56Speaker 1: up in an area, but like I wasn't active. So
- 14:58Speaker 1: it's a lot easier for me to re across the
- 15:00Speaker 1: aisle and work with you know exactly. And that's dope,
- 15:03Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, because a lot of you know,
- 15:05Speaker 1: like over the years, a lot of people didn't a
- 15:08Speaker 1: lot of people from the previous time didn't grow up
- 15:10Speaker 1: gang banging, but you know, for that image and that
- 15:14Speaker 1: certain thing, and it's surrounding people like they let that
- 15:17Speaker 1: shit hinder shit, Like you know, it's a lot of
- 15:20Speaker 1: It's I can't really name too many artists from Los
- 15:24Speaker 1: Angeles right like in the last even in the last
- 15:27Speaker 1: ten years that actually really grew up gang banging, you
- 15:30Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, like or in the mix, you
- 15:32Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. But you know, Motherfuckers is affiliated
- 15:35Speaker 1: and you know, the image and the people around fuck
- 15:38Speaker 1: sit up. I mean, yeah, it doesn't hurt record tales
- 15:41Speaker 1: for people to believe you're a gang member. Oh that
- 15:43Speaker 1: shit is great, especially for LA artists, Like that's what
- 15:46Speaker 1: this shit is about, like just the land of the
- 15:49Speaker 1: gang bang here in Chicago, you know what I'm saying. Yeah,
- 15:52Speaker 1: it's kind of it's kind of you know, also that's
- 15:56Speaker 1: unfortunate because you know, like you said, like, I'm sure
- 15:59Speaker 1: there's a lot of artists of people who got wrapped
- 16:00Speaker 1: up in some shit they never need to get wrapped
- 16:02Speaker 1: up into just for just for the cloud or the image,
- 16:05Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. It's like, you know, it
- 16:08Speaker 1: is what I was talking to Whack a couple of
- 16:11Speaker 1: weeks ago, and he was like, definitively, like, you know,
- 16:15Speaker 1: I could never in good faith tell anybody to get
- 16:17Speaker 1: involved in gang shit. You know what I'm saying. I've
- 16:19Speaker 1: been there. I took those lumps to be in a
- 16:23Speaker 1: position where I could tell people that's not the way
- 16:25Speaker 1: to go. Like I'm assuming you kind of feel similar.
- 16:28Speaker 1: My whole thing with the you know how I look
- 16:31Speaker 1: at it is uh, because the gang is a community.
- 16:36Speaker 1: First of all, who do we just talk to this
- 16:37Speaker 1: said gang bang wasn't necessarily a bad or being in
- 16:40Speaker 1: a gang rather necessarily isn't a bad thing. Yeah, d
- 16:44Speaker 1: Smoke just said, it's definitely and it doesn't start as that, right,
- 16:47Speaker 1: It's definitely not because the gang is naturally the community,
- 16:51Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. And you know, everybody from
- 16:55Speaker 1: the gang since the beginning of time is not a
- 16:57Speaker 1: fucking killer, you know what I'm saying, or or even
- 17:00Speaker 1: not people that commit crimes. Like I got big homies
- 17:03Speaker 1: that my whole entire life knowing them. They had jobs
- 17:06Speaker 1: and they was family men, but you know, they was
- 17:10Speaker 1: a part of the community and they showed they support
- 17:13Speaker 1: which is necessary, you know what I mean, and helping
- 17:16Speaker 1: like younger homies find their way. You know what I'm saying. Now,
- 17:20Speaker 1: if if everybody from the area just decided to, man,
- 17:24Speaker 1: fuck this shit, I ain't talking to nobody, I ain't
- 17:26Speaker 1: dealing with where does that leave the people that come next,
- 17:29Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. So it's like a real
- 17:32Speaker 1: thin line. But I definitely wouldn't tell nobody to go
- 17:35Speaker 1: kill nobody, or go do no shit like that or
- 17:38Speaker 1: commit no crimes. I would say, like, all right, if
- 17:41Speaker 1: that's where you're from, you know, represent where you're from,
- 17:45Speaker 1: But you don't have to be a fucking gang banger.
- 17:47Speaker 1: You could be a doctor, a lawyer, fireman, a fucking
- 17:51Speaker 1: cop if you want to, you know what I'm saying.
- 17:53Speaker 1: But you know, I wouldn't just say like fuck the
- 17:57Speaker 1: hood like that, you know what I'm saying. I would say,
- 17:59Speaker 1: like crips and bloods originally started as like community organizations,
- 18:05Speaker 1: right like you're like you said, like, I mean, you
- 18:07Speaker 1: know that's what That's one way to look at it,
- 18:09Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. But like when you really
- 18:12Speaker 1: think about it, like it was like just a gang
- 18:14Speaker 1: of young dudes fifteen fourteen sixteen, like doing knucklehead shit
- 18:19Speaker 1: in the community, you know, what I mean. I mean,
- 18:22Speaker 1: it didn't start off as some killing shit like we
- 18:24Speaker 1: killing each other, but you know it was definitely like
- 18:27Speaker 1: always at odds with some type of shit. That's how
- 18:30Speaker 1: crip really started, you know what I mean, like it
- 18:34Speaker 1: get deep. I don't even want to go into that.
- 18:36Speaker 1: But hey, so let me ask you this because this
- 18:38Speaker 1: is something I had to learn. Had had to teach
- 18:39Speaker 1: me this when I first moved to La. Not what
- 18:45Speaker 1: hats are okay to wear anywhere in La. I know
- 18:48Speaker 1: there's only a few La hat Black La black LA
- 18:51Speaker 1: heads always like black LA Hat's the only one. But
- 18:55Speaker 1: you know, like I'm black LA hat. That's really it.
- 19:00Speaker 1: The Diamondback that right there, Uh, Campa Bay TB Santana
- 19:04Speaker 1: black you know what I mean, twenty bloods you know
- 19:08Speaker 1: what I mean are the Arizona Diamondbacks avalon anthis park.
- 19:16Speaker 1: You know, a black LA had it's the safe, safe bet. Yeah,
- 19:24Speaker 1: black La had is probably as neutral as it kid,
- 19:26Speaker 1: you know what I mean, at least if you're gonna
- 19:30Speaker 1: in the valley. If I haven't had any issues in
- 19:32Speaker 1: the valley, Oh yeah, the valley. You know, it's dope
- 19:35Speaker 1: about the valley. So when I got out of I
- 19:37Speaker 1: got out of prison and shit in twenty fourteen twenty
- 19:40Speaker 1: the end of twenty thirteen, I was living in a
- 19:44Speaker 1: studio on a hundred nighth in Broadway, and somebody have
- 19:49Speaker 1: got a hold of my social and shit. While I
- 19:51Speaker 1: was in jail and fucked my running your show. Nobody
- 19:54Speaker 1: would rent me no apartment, like my credit was fucked up.
- 19:57Speaker 1: So I finally got a spot a day before, a
- 20:00Speaker 1: day before my homie just got off the Feds, Like
- 20:02Speaker 1: a day before they took how many homies was it?
- 20:05Speaker 1: Seventy two homies to the Feds? Wow? So the day
- 20:08Speaker 1: before I got an apartment in the Valley and Sherman
- 20:11Speaker 1: Oaks and shit, and basically the Valley is like what
- 20:14Speaker 1: kept me out of trouble in the mix and helped
- 20:17Speaker 1: me transition into the music and the business. Because had
- 20:20Speaker 1: I studyed in LA, I probably would have like just
- 20:23Speaker 1: been in trouble. Yeah, people don't like everyone comes, you know.
- 20:27Speaker 1: And it's crazy too because like you know, I was
- 20:30Speaker 1: just talking to d Smoke about this. We're talking about
- 20:32Speaker 1: how like a lot of people come to LA and
- 20:34Speaker 1: they think it's the place where you come get your packs,
- 20:36Speaker 1: you come fucking hit mail rows and then you end
- 20:39Speaker 1: up getting robbed, right right. It's tricky. It looked cute,
- 20:42Speaker 1: it looks beautiful all here, but it's like everyone does
- 20:44Speaker 1: the same shit. They come to LA. They ran a
- 20:47Speaker 1: fucking some nice ass car. Yeah, they go to cookies, yeah,
- 20:52Speaker 1: and then they try to go yeah they you know,
- 20:55Speaker 1: and it's like and then on the other end there's
- 20:58Speaker 1: people who move. Everyone moves to the valley. I feel
- 21:02Speaker 1: like everyone is either in North Hollywood like like here,
- 21:05Speaker 1: but this is a valley where it's not La though,
- 21:07Speaker 1: No it's not. People don't realize that, like, and I
- 21:10Speaker 1: think that's like, like you could be comfortable wearing a
- 21:13Speaker 1: lot of shit in the valley. I'm not saying that.
- 21:14Speaker 1: You know, there's some areas over here shitty in North
- 21:17Speaker 1: Hollywood that are sketched. You know, they got some gangster spots,
- 21:20Speaker 1: you know, coma obviously van eyes. But I feel like
- 21:23Speaker 1: a lot of people don't realize like the level of
- 21:27Speaker 1: comfort to just walk freely where certain shit is not
- 21:29Speaker 1: the same over on this side of the mountain. This
- 21:33Speaker 1: is actual LA. This is like not this is the
- 21:35Speaker 1: free world right here, basically the valley, Like it was
- 21:39Speaker 1: like when I got over here. Bro, it was like
- 21:41Speaker 1: a culture shock, you know what I'm saying. Like I
- 21:44Speaker 1: always stayed like on the outskirts of the city, but
- 21:46Speaker 1: my whole life always been, you know, something centered in
- 21:49Speaker 1: the hood spots, whatever's going on, whatever we're doing. Like
- 21:53Speaker 1: so when I came here, it was like, Damn, this
- 21:55Speaker 1: shit is smooth, you know what I mean. I had
- 21:57Speaker 1: the time to like really just figure myself out and
- 22:00Speaker 1: figure my thing out. Put you know, LA for motherfuckers
- 22:03Speaker 1: that don't know, like LA is basically when you cross
- 22:07Speaker 1: I ain't even gonna say Olympic Pico, south of Pico,
- 22:10Speaker 1: that's l A, you know what I mean, that's what
- 22:14Speaker 1: like north of Pico, Like that's not really not that's
- 22:18Speaker 1: like it's nice. Mail Roads don't even count as LA.
- 22:21Speaker 1: That's like it's West Hollywood at the moment. Are you
- 22:24Speaker 1: still living in l A in the valley? Now? I
- 22:28Speaker 1: got I got a spot in the valley, in a
- 22:31Speaker 1: spot in l A. I was gonna say, like, well,
- 22:35Speaker 1: not in l A, l A. I got a spot
- 22:36Speaker 1: in fucking West Hollywood, right West hollywoods High right now. Yeah,
- 22:41Speaker 1: everybody getting robbed over there. You see the video of
- 22:45Speaker 1: the guy. You see the video of the guy in
- 22:46Speaker 1: the Lamello ball jersey and they try to run up
- 22:49Speaker 1: on him and he was served. I was like, yo, bro,
- 22:52Speaker 1: it's it's wild because I feel like like that that
- 22:55Speaker 1: that influx of money, that influx of cash in the ghetto,
- 22:59Speaker 1: Like it was like I wasn't around when crack came out,
- 23:02Speaker 1: but I heard stories. I'm thinking maybe this was similar.
- 23:05Speaker 1: Like everybody had a hundred thousand, two hundred thousand, eighty thousand,
- 23:08Speaker 1: everyone hit and everybody discovered mail rolls, and now the
- 23:14Speaker 1: money is gone. It's like, all right, we over here
- 23:16Speaker 1: hit lah shit. Yeah, you know it's crazy. During the pandemic,
- 23:20Speaker 1: like you said, like that Edd, money was that PPP
- 23:24Speaker 1: shit was booming. That shit was awesome. Man. I hear
- 23:26Speaker 1: a lot of people talking shit and talking down on
- 23:28Speaker 1: people that did it. And but it's like, bro, if
- 23:32Speaker 1: a nigga was broke, you'll be talking down on them too,
- 23:35Speaker 1: you broke ass niggas. Ooh, I'm happy Edd, I'll be
- 23:37Speaker 1: hearing niggas saying bitch ass shit like that. But it's like, bro,
- 23:40Speaker 1: like what is motherfuckers to do? He ain't selling crack
- 23:43Speaker 1: to your mama. I can't wait to see like in
- 23:46Speaker 1: like ten fifteen, twenty years, like the documentary about the
- 23:49Speaker 1: pppedd shit, it's gonna be crazy. It's like an era
- 23:53Speaker 1: like everyone was riding crazy, everyone got ice right. It's
- 23:58Speaker 1: people like I know for a act were like dead
- 24:01Speaker 1: ass broke and then like ninety day all out. I'm like,
- 24:03Speaker 1: what the fuck You're driving a fucking Badley? What happened? No? Possibly,
- 24:16Speaker 1: it was pretty easy, and everything was you got to
- 24:18Speaker 1: think about it. The world was froze like I would
- 24:21Speaker 1: work or anything. You know. I had friends who were like, bro,
- 24:24Speaker 1: you got an LLC yo, I'm telling you, look, you
- 24:28Speaker 1: could get like one hundred K. And I'm like, but
- 24:30Speaker 1: I don't. But I'm good. Look, so look that's crazy
- 24:35Speaker 1: you say that. I got like four LLC's, right, well
- 24:38Speaker 1: a little more than that now, But at the time
- 24:41Speaker 1: I had four LLC's and like, I signed up for
- 24:45Speaker 1: one and got a proved for ninety G. I didn't
- 24:48Speaker 1: even take it though. I'm like, man, I don't even
- 24:50Speaker 1: really need that ship. And then I read the stipulations
- 24:53Speaker 1: all my shit legit. I'm like, man, I'm not about
- 24:57Speaker 1: to be checking in and nobody for no fucking ninety
- 24:59Speaker 1: g He's like it was tempting though I wanted to,
- 25:03Speaker 1: but because I just I opened. I just opened the
- 25:06Speaker 1: studio in February of twenty twenty, and then the pandemic hit.
- 25:10Speaker 1: I mean, our ship was booming because all the studios closed,
- 25:13Speaker 1: to at least the major studios closed. Yeah, but we
- 25:15Speaker 1: never closed. I was like, I don't give a fuck.
- 25:17Speaker 1: I just opened this shit. I invested a lot of
- 25:19Speaker 1: my own money in this place. We're going. We don't
- 25:22Speaker 1: have a store front, people don't music not stopping. Yeah,
- 25:25Speaker 1: so we thrived in the pandemic. But I was it
- 25:28Speaker 1: was definitely When it's that much money and it's that
- 25:31Speaker 1: easy to get, it's hard to say no to, which
- 25:34Speaker 1: is why I understand why a lot of people did.
- 25:36Speaker 1: But I, like he said, I think, I mean a
- 25:39Speaker 1: lot of people going to jail now, right, A lot
- 25:42Speaker 1: of people going to gym. And then I thought about
- 25:44Speaker 1: it too, like all right, I do one of these
- 25:48Speaker 1: like I'm fuck that bro, Like, yeah, no, you were smart, man,
- 25:52Speaker 1: I don't want to fuck another car and not already
- 25:54Speaker 1: got like four of the motherfuckers. That's basically what that
- 25:57Speaker 1: would have been, you know what I'm saying. But like yo,
- 25:58Speaker 1: just get a new whip. You say you have a
- 26:01Speaker 1: cars like your weakness. What what what is like your
- 26:04Speaker 1: prize possession vehicle that you have right now? Probably the
- 26:07Speaker 1: VET the C eight. Is that that new one? Yeah,
- 26:11Speaker 1: it's the same with Freddy Gibbs. Probably hasn't. Yeah, yeah
- 26:13Speaker 1: he got a orange, He's got the orange rue. Yeah,
- 26:15Speaker 1: here's just blue obviously. Yeah that makes sense. Yeah, that
- 26:19Speaker 1: thing is like the new Qurvette, because like a Corvette
- 26:21Speaker 1: went from like being like you could get like a
- 26:23Speaker 1: fire one for like seventy five thousand, the new joints
- 26:26Speaker 1: are like north of one hundred and Yeah, it's marked
- 26:28Speaker 1: up their fire though. It's like you're driving a fucking lambow.
- 26:31Speaker 1: It feels like, Yeah, it's definitely a fun car. But
- 26:35Speaker 1: I'm already thinking about a couple other vehicles that i
- 26:40Speaker 1: want in the next few months. I'm like holding back
- 26:44Speaker 1: from I'll be spending too much money, man, I mean
- 26:47Speaker 1: cars are not the most wise investment. Yeah, yeah, so
- 26:51Speaker 1: I'm holding back, but I want to get a I
- 26:55Speaker 1: mean thinking about getting the may Back, the new may Back.
- 26:58Speaker 1: I seen them, Yeah, the twenty one may Back and
- 27:00Speaker 1: like you know what I'm saying, Oh yeah, you're crazy
- 27:02Speaker 1: and then be my next It's just gonna be my
- 27:04Speaker 1: two veo coach fuck around. Just go buy a house
- 27:06Speaker 1: in Santa Clara and rent it out to someone that's
- 27:08Speaker 1: much better place to put your back, right. So that's
- 27:12Speaker 1: that's what I said. I said, I gotta at least
- 27:14Speaker 1: get like this in twenty twenty two. I gotta get
- 27:16Speaker 1: at least like two properties before I do any like
- 27:19Speaker 1: income property though, yeah, warehouse. I need a compound, y'all.
- 27:23Speaker 1: Rent all these houses and recording and need to get
- 27:26Speaker 1: a compound. And bro get a studio. Get up. You
- 27:29Speaker 1: should just get one spot where you have your studio.
- 27:32Speaker 1: You buy all your machinery to make your own shit exactly.
- 27:36Speaker 1: Cut out the middle man man, and then and then
- 27:40Speaker 1: once you make all that money back, then go get
- 27:42Speaker 1: the may back. Yeah. Yeah, you don't need a maybag man.
- 27:45Speaker 1: That shits a I feel like I do. I know
- 27:48Speaker 1: you do, but you don't. I've been having this conversation
- 27:52Speaker 1: with my wife all the time. I'm like, listen, our
- 27:54Speaker 1: cars are paid off. We're good. Like, if there's what
- 27:56Speaker 1: these bitches stops working, we're right right right. The only
- 28:01Speaker 1: car I'm gonna fuck off is the Tesla truck, the
- 28:04Speaker 1: cyber truck. Whenever cyber truck looks crazy, that will be
- 28:07Speaker 1: the stupid purchase I make. That cyber truck is crazy.
- 28:11Speaker 1: But like, bro, it's about thirty cars I want, Bro,
- 28:14Speaker 1: I got a problem. Yeah, it sounds like so I
- 28:18Speaker 1: need to I need to drop a few more projects
- 28:20Speaker 1: and ship. You know what I'm saying. I gonna say,
- 28:22Speaker 1: like when you drop music now, like is the first
- 28:29Speaker 1: of all have you noticed like a difference in the
- 28:33Speaker 1: the like the money you make versus being independent versus
- 28:38Speaker 1: you know, because how many projects did you drop on
- 28:40Speaker 1: rock Nation? Was it two? Uh too? Yeah? And then
- 28:43Speaker 1: you just dropped something that I had about fucking I
- 28:46Speaker 1: record so much? Bro, were you able to keep those
- 28:49Speaker 1: songs projects? I mean I got them, but they sound
- 28:53Speaker 1: like from that time you know, I hear you. So
- 28:56Speaker 1: it's like you know what though, That's something that artists
- 28:58Speaker 1: do a lot, is that they'll have songs that are
- 29:00Speaker 1: old to them but are still fucking fire. Yeah. Yeah,
- 29:04Speaker 1: I probably need somebody to come through and listen to
- 29:06Speaker 1: that ship like this. Yeah, that shit happens all the time.
- 29:09Speaker 1: Like I like, I like here, like I remember tied
- 29:11Speaker 1: all the sign played me his album like two years ago.
- 29:14Speaker 1: It was like the greatest shit I ever fucking heard.
- 29:16Speaker 1: And he didn't put it out for like a year
- 29:18Speaker 1: and a half, and then it came out and it
- 29:19Speaker 1: was still good because he's tied. But I was like swapped.
- 29:22Speaker 1: I hit him. I was like, bro, what happened to that?
- 29:25Speaker 1: Like the album you played me with one? You were
- 29:27Speaker 1: grammy a man? That ship. Man, I'm like, bro, that
- 29:31Speaker 1: it'd be like that once you when you in there
- 29:33Speaker 1: are listening to it so much, for sure, critique and ship,
- 29:37Speaker 1: and you know it gets like that ship. Your own
- 29:39Speaker 1: shit gets played out to you before the world even
- 29:41Speaker 1: hears it, for sure. Yeah. Sure you record a lot now,
- 29:44Speaker 1: Like are you often? Hell yeah, hell yeah. I keep so.
- 29:47Speaker 1: I keep a studio, some speakers in interface everywhere I'm
- 29:51Speaker 1: at at my house, at the studio house, h anywhere.

- 31:23Speaker 1: would say in and out. As soon as you pull
- 31:25Speaker 1: up in that welcome to the the Ocean Side, then it's
- 31:27Speaker 1: in and yeah. It's just like, uh, where I stop
- 31:31Speaker 1: and get food on my way to go DJ at
- 31:32Speaker 1: Flux in San Diego. It's like it's a dope little
- 31:35Speaker 1: beach city. I heard it used to be slummy and
- 31:37Speaker 1: ship now it's nice, you know what I mean? But
- 31:39Speaker 1: military city. Yeah. So the company, the company that I'm
- 31:43Speaker 1: with that I partners in Urban Water. We basically got
- 31:47Speaker 1: water in all the hotels and it's a water company. Yeah,
- 31:50Speaker 1: why that's big. I gotta get you some water ship
- 31:53Speaker 1: some cases come through not Essentia. Yeah, we got we
- 31:56Speaker 1: got much better water than that right there. It's called
- 31:59Speaker 1: Urban Water Company. Yeah. Yeah, So what's the like, what's
- 32:03Speaker 1: the everyone has a like what's special about your water?
- 32:07Speaker 1: The pH levels? The or is it just good water?
- 32:10Speaker 1: I mean it's like there's water snobs. So we got
- 32:12Speaker 1: spring water, alkaline water, uh CBD water. What a CBD
- 32:16Speaker 1: water is like just for us? Basically, Yo, there's some
- 32:20Speaker 1: fucking THHC water that I saw at the dispensary and
- 32:23Speaker 1: I was like, who the fuck is stupid enough to
- 32:24Speaker 1: drink a fucking highest ship bro? Again, you can't. You
- 32:29Speaker 1: can't get rid of that high right, drink it. Let
- 32:33Speaker 1: me tell you a story about an edible bro to
- 32:35Speaker 1: save my life. Like, if I didn't eat this edible bro,
- 32:38Speaker 1: we wouldn't be sitting here having this interview. It wouldn't
- 32:40Speaker 1: be no gepri eco nothing, so I can talk about it.
- 32:45Speaker 1: This is fucking twelve years right, So we wash about
- 32:50Speaker 1: to go hit a lick basically, And I'm not a
- 32:53Speaker 1: robber or a jacker or any of that ship. I'm
- 32:55Speaker 1: like a hustler, player, pimp, you know what I'm saying,
- 32:57Speaker 1: gangster Like that's my thing. You know what I'm saying.
- 33:00Speaker 1: I know how to hustle it up. But uh so
- 33:02Speaker 1: I was already out of my lane, you know what
- 33:04Speaker 1: I mean. But at the time, like I was down,
- 33:07Speaker 1: you know what I mean, just took a loss and shit.
- 33:09Speaker 1: So we go sculpe the shit out and shit, and
- 33:12Speaker 1: it's like a dispensary before. They was popping up everything.
- 33:15Speaker 1: So every dispensary that was around that time was booming.
- 33:19Speaker 1: So we go in check it out and dude, give
- 33:23Speaker 1: me a fucking a peanut buttered like oatmeal type cookie.
- 33:28Speaker 1: That's an edible though, right, And we hadn't stopped and
- 33:31Speaker 1: got nothing to eat. We just been on one all day,
- 33:34Speaker 1: so I'm hungry as fuck. I knocked the cookie back.
- 33:36Speaker 1: It was cookie, knocked the whole cookie back. Right. By
- 33:40Speaker 1: the time we get back to the hood, I'm tweaking.
- 33:43Speaker 1: I can't sit still. I'm like, I'm thinking too much.
- 33:47Speaker 1: I'm looking at everybody, my mouth white and shit. I'm like, fuck,
- 33:50Speaker 1: I'm tripping, right, so I try to lay down. We
- 33:54Speaker 1: finally got food. I couldn't even eat. Nigga's like, gee,
- 33:57Speaker 1: you treat you acting weird, bro. I'm like, I know
- 33:59Speaker 1: this fucking edible. So long story short, they leave out
- 34:03Speaker 1: the dog go to hit the lick. I ain't seen
- 34:04Speaker 1: them niggas since then. Oh and this was about twelve
- 34:07Speaker 1: years ago. I ain't seen them niggas since. I ain't
- 34:12Speaker 1: heard from him or nothing. Wow, you know what I mean?
- 34:14Speaker 1: So what happened? Yeah, who knows? What happened to you?
- 34:18Speaker 1: The edible saved me, man, damn straight up yup. I
- 34:23Speaker 1: had a time where I had an edible that I
- 34:26Speaker 1: was only supposed to have like an eighth of but
- 34:28Speaker 1: I did the same thing. It was so fire, and
- 34:31Speaker 1: I ate the whole fucking edible. I was tweaking, Bro,
- 34:35Speaker 1: I was hallucinating. I was uh, I was it was.
- 34:39Speaker 1: It was like I was like going to a concert
- 34:41Speaker 1: and I was supposed to interview both the artists of
- 34:43Speaker 1: the concert. So I eat the edible and the first
- 34:50Speaker 1: it was a yellow Wolf and Rich concert. So Rich
- 34:53Speaker 1: is one of my close homies, and so I eat
- 34:55Speaker 1: the edible. I don't feel nothing right. So I'm on
- 34:57Speaker 1: the bus, I do the interview whatever. I'm like, Man,
- 34:59Speaker 1: I ate it. I don't feel shit. Bro, I'm chilling,
- 35:01Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. She's like, cool, I'm about
- 35:03Speaker 1: to go on stage. So we go. We going to
- 35:05Speaker 1: the show, and as soon as this fool goes on stage,
- 35:08Speaker 1: kick bro. Like, I couldn't move my legs. Bro. My
- 35:12Speaker 1: legs felt like I'm like with my boy and I'm like, Bro,
- 35:15Speaker 1: I can't walk. My legs feel like they're playing it
- 35:17Speaker 1: into the ground. And then every everyone in the in
- 35:22Speaker 1: the concert. I could hear everyone's conversation like I could,
- 35:26Speaker 1: like it's probably a thousand people at this show. I
- 35:30Speaker 1: look across the room and like, hone in on someone
- 35:34Speaker 1: having a conversation at the bar in the middle of
- 35:37Speaker 1: a concert happening, and here exactly what the fuck they're saying,
- 35:40Speaker 1: Like I had superpowers, yo. Then I look up on
- 35:44Speaker 1: stage Rich is performing and next to him there's an
- 35:48Speaker 1: animated Garfield the Cat, like a statue with slot machine
- 35:55Speaker 1: eyes going through like with dollar signs in his eyes,
- 35:58Speaker 1: and I bro I started freaking the fuck out, and
- 36:01Speaker 1: then like everything that could have happened that made my life,
- 36:04Speaker 1: like like I like, if you were tripping, all the
- 36:06Speaker 1: weird shit that could have actually happened in front of
- 36:08Speaker 1: you that night actually happened. Like some Native American dude
- 36:12Speaker 1: like walked up on me and started freaking out, like
- 36:14Speaker 1: asking me for my photo and started telling me like
- 36:16Speaker 1: about his tribe and shit. And this dude was like
- 36:19Speaker 1: Native like fucking cat all kinds of fucking shit on
- 36:22Speaker 1: his head, and I was like, I didn't think he
- 36:25Speaker 1: was real. So I was telling my boy, I'm like,
- 36:28Speaker 1: do you see this in front of the guy. I'm like,
- 36:31Speaker 1: do you see this motherfucker right in front of me?
- 36:34Speaker 1: The guy's like, I hello, I'm right here, and I'm like,
- 36:37Speaker 1: are you real? Bro? It was I was puked. It
- 36:40Speaker 1: was the brigain. Yeah, that was the last time I did.
- 36:45Speaker 1: I've done edibles in like very small doses, but like
- 36:48Speaker 1: that night. And then there was a night me and
- 36:50Speaker 1: Freddie did uh. We were in Texas and I did
- 36:54Speaker 1: shrooms and an edible and he did shrooms and I
- 36:57Speaker 1: thought I thought they were RUMs. Is the shit? No, no, no,
- 37:01Speaker 1: for sure, Yeah, I got some shrooms for if you
- 37:03Speaker 1: need him. But uh, but no, I did a I
- 37:05Speaker 1: did shrooms and an edible. We were uh. Freddie Gibbs
- 37:11Speaker 1: went out there to do Joe Rogan in Austin, so
- 37:13Speaker 1: I went with him and we went to a comedy
- 37:16Speaker 1: show and I was like, you know what, Joe Rogan's coming.
- 37:20Speaker 1: I started doing shrooms because of Joe Rogan. I was like,
- 37:23Speaker 1: fred let's eat some fucking shrooms. So we fucking each
- 37:25Speaker 1: take like we eat a lot of fucking shrooms. But
- 37:28Speaker 1: I had also eaten a lot of edibles. Like I
- 37:31Speaker 1: was just on some fucking shit. I was out of town.
- 37:33Speaker 1: I was drinking. I was eating that, bro the worst.
- 37:37Speaker 1: It was like the most paranoid, freaked out night of
- 37:38Speaker 1: my life. Bro. We're in this fucking bar on Sixth
- 37:42Speaker 1: and I thought that these dudes were gonna kill Fred.
- 37:44Speaker 1: I was like, he says, some ship in my ear,
- 37:47Speaker 1: like hey, and this all happened, Yo, Watch the motherfucker's
- 37:51Speaker 1: over there man. Wow man, Bro. And you know when
- 37:54Speaker 1: Fred when he's drunk, he's wild man. He's drunk and
- 37:58Speaker 1: on shrooms. And so he's like, Yo, I'm gonna go
- 38:01Speaker 1: peep the back door of this bar, make sure we
- 38:03Speaker 1: got an exit route. And I'm like, so he's telling
- 38:07Speaker 1: me that there's some dudes like Iron eyeing him right,
- 38:09Speaker 1: and we're in Texas. I don't know no bunny in
- 38:11Speaker 1: fucking Texas, And all I could think of was, Fuck,
- 38:14Speaker 1: we're gonna die like Pop Smoke died. We're gonna die
- 38:16Speaker 1: like Pop Smoke died. And I'm gonna be with this motherfucker.
- 38:18Speaker 1: I might die too. Bro, I'm like losing my fucking bud.
- 38:24Speaker 1: And I'm like, Brian, Brian Moses is our homies, a comedian.
- 38:26Speaker 1: I'm like, Bro, did he just tell me to look
- 38:29Speaker 1: out and this guy is not doing ship. I'm supposed
- 38:32Speaker 1: to be like his muscle. I'm like, it's me and
- 38:33Speaker 1: him and a girl. And I'm like, so it's on
- 38:36Speaker 1: me to like, I'm fucking tripping balls. How am I
- 38:39Speaker 1: supposed to help in this if we get into some ship,
- 38:41Speaker 1: I'm in no use here. It was. It was a
- 38:45Speaker 1: terrible night, but yeah, edibles for me after that night,
- 38:47Speaker 1: I'm good. Shrooms. You fuck with shrooms? Yeah, well, I
- 38:53Speaker 1: got too many shrooms one day though. I took too
- 38:55Speaker 1: many strom in a shower, right, and I said, I'm
- 38:58Speaker 1: gonna I'm gonna stop taking them broke, because I see
- 39:00Speaker 1: how people get spacey off of that ship. Right. I'm
- 39:03Speaker 1: in the shower and I got the face towel in
- 39:06Speaker 1: my hand and I looked down at it and I
- 39:09Speaker 1: was like, man, people treat me just like this face towel.
- 39:13Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, Just use me and throw
- 39:15Speaker 1: me on it, you know what I'm saying. I'm like, wait,
- 39:17Speaker 1: hold up, bro I'm fucking tripping. Yeah. Nah, you know, shrooms, Uh,
- 39:23Speaker 1: they're changing. I mean people like if you if you
- 39:25Speaker 1: do that, have you heard of doing a hero's dose?
- 39:27Speaker 1: A heroes though, how much is that? It's supposed to
- 39:30Speaker 1: be at least the eighth but I think it's two eighths. Yeah,
- 39:33Speaker 1: I've done hero dose. Yeah, if that's what that is,
- 39:36Speaker 1: I think it's two eighths. That's a lot. And it's
- 39:39Speaker 1: supposed to be like like the changing your life amount
- 39:43Speaker 1: of shrooms, Like you do it and you just like
- 39:46Speaker 1: work through all the problems in your life, like it's yeah,
- 39:49Speaker 1: it makes you like it kind of makes you a
- 39:51Speaker 1: little too calm sometimes for me, Like I don't like
- 39:55Speaker 1: being that calm. What got you in? What got you
- 39:59Speaker 1: into doing shrooms? Because most rappers are very uh they
- 40:01Speaker 1: think it's like meth. Like if I bring up, like,
- 40:04Speaker 1: hey you do shrooms, a lot of rappers like, what
- 40:05Speaker 1: the fuck is wrong with you? Broh. I'm like, bro,
- 40:08Speaker 1: it's not. I didn't ask if you smoke crack. So
- 40:10Speaker 1: I walked into Uh, I walked in the studio one night.
- 40:13Speaker 1: Well I had been seeing it around and shit, I
- 40:15Speaker 1: walk in the studio one night with my partners and
- 40:18Speaker 1: shit big they big dudes too, and everybody in there
- 40:21Speaker 1: got sunglasses on and shit right, and I'm like, damn,
- 40:26Speaker 1: what's going on in this motherfucker? Right, And I'm used
- 40:29Speaker 1: to being around like I grew up on the East Side.
- 40:31Speaker 1: I'm used to motherfuckers being on coke all the whole shit.
- 40:35Speaker 1: So I'm like, damn, maybe everybody up in here on
- 40:37Speaker 1: blow or something, right, And like somebody said something and
- 40:43Speaker 1: everybody just started laughing and it just turned in. It
- 40:46Speaker 1: was like super quiet. I guess people was quiet because
- 40:48Speaker 1: I walked in and I'm like the sober guy. Yeah,
- 40:54Speaker 1: and then they said something. Everybody started laughing and they're like, yeah,
- 40:57Speaker 1: we on shrooms, whoo whoo. So I took a little
- 40:59Speaker 1: piece and I didn't feel I was scared though it
- 41:02Speaker 1: took like a super small piece, didn't feel anything. So like,
- 41:05Speaker 1: as months progressed and ship like I'll be taking more
- 41:09Speaker 1: and more. And then that last time I took so
- 41:12Speaker 1: much like I was fucking tripping. It was awesome, though,
- 41:15Speaker 1: but I don't think I could be that cool. Have
- 41:18Speaker 1: you heard of d MT? Nah? So DMT is like
- 41:23Speaker 1: that's the closest thing to looking like smoking crack, but
- 41:28Speaker 1: it's so. D MT is it's a molecule that your
- 41:32Speaker 1: brain produces when you're born and when you're dead, so
- 41:36Speaker 1: when you die, DMT gets released when you when you're born,
- 41:39Speaker 1: it gets released. So there's a frog that sweats d
- 41:45Speaker 1: MT that's based in the in Arizona, the desert right right,
- 41:49Speaker 1: So they take it off a frog, so and then
- 41:53Speaker 1: they actually the obviously, uh in the Amazon the frogs
- 41:57Speaker 1: there as well. But you smoke DMT. You have to
- 42:01Speaker 1: freebase it though, so you literally have you literally have
- 42:05Speaker 1: to smoke it from out. You literally have to smoke
- 42:07Speaker 1: it from a crack pipe just you know, obviously there's
- 42:10Speaker 1: no crack, but it is like, uh, you smoke d MT,
- 42:17Speaker 1: you hit the you hit the pipe, and then you're
- 42:19Speaker 1: just you're just gone for fifteen minutes in another planet.
- 42:23Speaker 1: And people say that like it expands your mind to
- 42:26Speaker 1: like realize like how small in the world you are,
- 42:31Speaker 1: Like it opens like a portal to like it's I
- 42:34Speaker 1: fucked that because it's like once you certain people get
- 42:38Speaker 1: too smart and then they just like hear like it's
- 42:42Speaker 1: the purpose in life and things that they need to do.
- 42:45Speaker 1: Just like I feel like, I mean, you might be
- 42:50Speaker 1: down for DMT though in the right in the right setting,
- 42:52Speaker 1: I'm kind of like not like super heavy on shrooms,
- 42:56Speaker 1: Like I don't trying them. A couple of times did
- 42:58Speaker 1: a lot one time and was like, yeah, I'm kind
- 43:01Speaker 1: of cool, but like, I don't, bro, I feel like
- 43:05Speaker 1: that shit just I like grew up around drug addicts.
- 43:08Speaker 1: I'm from the ghetto. You know what I'm saying. Everybody
- 43:11Speaker 1: is a fucking addict to something. Alcohol for sure, for sure,
- 43:14Speaker 1: coke uh weed as like recD weed is nothing that
- 43:19Speaker 1: don't feel as far as like so it's like, bro,
- 43:24Speaker 1: certain drugs that take you somewhere and open your mind
- 43:28Speaker 1: up and bring you somewhere. I feel like it kind
- 43:30Speaker 1: of like steals. It's still your passion for whatever you're
- 43:33Speaker 1: trying to do, like you just fine with existing. However,
- 43:37Speaker 1: that's just me from the outside looking in at certain
- 43:39Speaker 1: people that I know like that just found that special
- 43:43Speaker 1: place in the world, Like it's just happy and cool
- 43:46Speaker 1: and fuck that. I still need my motivation. Yeah, I'm tripping,
- 43:52Speaker 1: like fuck this, we gotta get this done. And you
- 43:54Speaker 1: know what I mean, I need that. Talk about your
- 43:58Speaker 1: relationship with Grido because you obviously you know all three
- 44:01Speaker 1: Grito's got twelve thousand songs that no one's heard yet.
- 44:05Speaker 1: Free my boy Grito, So me and Greedo got a
- 44:07Speaker 1: whole project together, right, So when Greto was because you know,
- 44:11Speaker 1: Greto been out for a long time. Yeah, for a
- 44:14Speaker 1: long time. He's been out for a long time. But
- 44:16Speaker 1: when he started blowing up as Greto and like, motherfuckers
- 44:20Speaker 1: was only you know what I mean? Uh, I remember
- 44:23Speaker 1: he was talking that shit, y'all. I just did twelve
- 44:25Speaker 1: songs today. I did twenty songs today. So I'm like,
- 44:29Speaker 1: the next time we get in the studio, like I'm competitive,
- 44:32Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. Like that's how the g
- 44:34Speaker 1: Worthy project came about. We would talk about that, but
- 44:37Speaker 1: like when we get in the studio, I'm like, man,
- 44:38Speaker 1: this is motherfucker not about to run circles around me
- 44:41Speaker 1: in here, you know what I'm saying. So every time
- 44:43Speaker 1: a beat came on, I'm trying to rush into booth
- 44:46Speaker 1: because he just he here the beat and he just
- 44:49Speaker 1: casually walks into booth and comes out in five minutes
- 44:54Speaker 1: with the shit done, you know what I'm saying. So
- 44:57Speaker 1: when everything come on, I'm trying to in there, you
- 45:01Speaker 1: know what I mean. And we at the end of
- 45:03Speaker 1: the night, we ended up with a project. One of
- 45:04Speaker 1: the songs came out on first A good Job First,
- 45:10Speaker 1: FK first he dropped. He dropped one of the songs
- 45:13Speaker 1: that we did that night, and we still probably got
- 45:17Speaker 1: about like fifteen songs in my computer and shit probably
- 45:22Speaker 1: dropped some more of that ship. But that's basically what
- 45:24Speaker 1: that so his creative processes. Have you ever seen anyone
- 45:27Speaker 1: record that fast? Because I mean from what ts tight
- 45:30Speaker 1: no TK was telling me, Like the amount of songs
- 45:32Speaker 1: he has, it's insane. Yeah, Like it's almost like you
- 45:38Speaker 1: don't believe it until you see, Like damn, I like
- 45:41Speaker 1: this guy drops music like still out in the machine.
- 45:44Speaker 1: I think he just learned how to just have a conversation,
- 45:47Speaker 1: not like he just learned how to be like one
- 45:49Speaker 1: with the music, if that makes sense, Like because like
- 45:53Speaker 1: he bro he's I know for sure he's not thinking
- 45:56Speaker 1: hard about nothing. The beat come on, he talked, and ship,
- 46:00Speaker 1: yeah walk in and then walk back out like you
- 46:04Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. The only time I seen him
- 46:06Speaker 1: like like pressure and that ain't even pressure was like
- 46:10Speaker 1: when he pressing the engineer like give my ship. Sounded right,
- 46:14Speaker 1: like you know what I'm saying. But outside of that,
- 46:16Speaker 1: he like that niggas like water, like just what are you?
- 46:21Speaker 1: The joint project that you're sitting on. Is there any
- 46:25Speaker 1: sort of idea when that's gonna We've been talking about it,
- 46:28Speaker 1: and she's on your album a couple of times, right, Yeah,
- 46:31Speaker 1: he on there. He called me one day and Ship
- 46:34Speaker 1: and and he's like, man, put out some of that Ship.
- 46:37Speaker 1: And I thought about it, So I took jay Nauri
- 46:41Speaker 1: actually took a piece from one of the joints and
- 46:44Speaker 1: mixed it in and too sexy and and uh, we
- 46:49Speaker 1: just had a conversation and Ship. We was talking. I'm like,
- 46:51Speaker 1: I'm gonna record it, you know what I'm saying. And
- 46:53Speaker 1: we just talking Ship, and I chot pieces from the
- 46:56Speaker 1: conversation and put them inserts on certain songs and Ship,
- 46:59Speaker 1: how's he doing? Uh? You know, how's the spirit? Bro?
- 47:03Speaker 1: He fucking he better than me. Put it like that.
- 47:06Speaker 1: I'm not stressing. He popping that shit. He talking like
- 47:10Speaker 1: he out on the streets, you know what I'm saying.
- 47:12Speaker 1: So I know when he get out, he's not gonna
- 47:15Speaker 1: have a problem getting straight back into it. Like he
- 47:19Speaker 1: like a special, one of a kind type motherfucker. Like
- 47:22Speaker 1: I ain't never seen nobody like him, you know what
- 47:24Speaker 1: I mean. Yeah, I thought one of the doper moments
- 47:26Speaker 1: that I saw kind of the original verses was him
- 47:29Speaker 1: and RJ and nobody got hurt at the Novo. Yeah,
- 47:32Speaker 1: I was fire. That was fire. That was super far
- 47:35Speaker 1: and he woke my game up about a lot of
- 47:37Speaker 1: shit too, like what just basically like, uh, just me
- 47:43Speaker 1: being like back to like being a fucking gang banger
- 47:47Speaker 1: from the streets. Like sometimes the uh, the mentality of
- 47:53Speaker 1: that a carry over into this. But this ain't that,
- 47:56Speaker 1: and that ain't this, you know what I'm saying, So
- 47:58Speaker 1: like being able to free entry the twol you know
- 48:02Speaker 1: what I'm saying, is real difficult. That's why you don't
- 48:05Speaker 1: see a lot of artists like myself or with the
- 48:08Speaker 1: background like myself cracking or on the scene. It's because
- 48:12Speaker 1: their eparate. It's too fucking real, you know what I'm saying.
- 48:18Speaker 1: And it took a while for me to understand that, Bro,
- 48:22Speaker 1: this is entertainment. All these niggas doing this shit, these
- 48:25Speaker 1: niggas cripping extra hard and blooding extra hard. It's a costume.
- 48:30Speaker 1: It's for the you know what I'm saying, so like
- 48:33Speaker 1: and me coming from the real life and like shedding
- 48:37Speaker 1: blood for this shit. Sweat tears years of my life,
- 48:41Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, actually putting in work for
- 48:43Speaker 1: the ship and like living it. It's like, you know
- 48:46Speaker 1: that part of me is hard to turn that part
- 48:48Speaker 1: of me off and accept they're separate. Yeah, accept the
- 48:52Speaker 1: entertainment aspect of it. Like motherfucker's acting super hard and
- 48:56Speaker 1: like they this and that, you know what I'm saying.
- 48:57Speaker 1: So that's why a lot of like real ones not
- 49:01Speaker 1: in a mix, you know what I'm saying. So I've
- 49:03Speaker 1: just been learning how to accept it, you know what
- 49:04Speaker 1: I'm saying. And you know that was probably hard, like
- 49:09Speaker 1: because you're very difficult. You get into the hip hop
- 49:11Speaker 1: world and like you said, there's a lot of perceived
- 49:15Speaker 1: gangsters involved, but it's separate, right. It's like, look, there's
- 49:20Speaker 1: the entertainment industry and then there's the other shit, and
- 49:23Speaker 1: it's hard to mix both and make it because I mean, really,
- 49:28Speaker 1: you're more of a target when you become a public figure,
- 49:31Speaker 1: you know what I mean. For sure, you're more of
- 49:33Speaker 1: like you know, I mean, shit, all the rico shit
- 49:35Speaker 1: that's happening, all the fucking that shit is so that
- 49:38Speaker 1: shit is so fucking spooky, bro, it's insane. They could
- 49:41Speaker 1: just snatch you up and say that you're doing some
- 49:44Speaker 1: if they feel like it, say you're doing some criminal shit,
- 49:47Speaker 1: Like who really, what successful artists or successful business man
- 49:51Speaker 1: really has time to run a function in street gang
- 49:55Speaker 1: or street activity. Like now, if you got tied to
- 49:58Speaker 1: this shit, you can't help that. And then nine times
- 50:01Speaker 1: out of ten, you're not gonna turn your back on
- 50:03Speaker 1: your people. So yo, Like my presence, my presence in
- 50:08Speaker 1: the street life right now with my homies and shit
- 50:11Speaker 1: is just for sheer motivation and like, bro, we need
- 50:14Speaker 1: to be doing this, this and this fuck that it's
- 50:18Speaker 1: no life into the shit that's been going on for
- 50:21Speaker 1: I just told my homie the other day, Bro, like
- 50:23Speaker 1: one of my young homies, like, Bro, you're not Bro,
- 50:27Speaker 1: You're not gonna be special or do anything different, or
- 50:31Speaker 1: you're not gonna be who you want to be doing
- 50:35Speaker 1: the same shit that been going on in the hood
- 50:37Speaker 1: for the last fifty years, you know what I'm saying, Like, Bro,
- 50:40Speaker 1: we got homies from since sixties seventies that kill niggas
- 50:45Speaker 1: and do the crazy shit and go to jail forever.
- 50:48Speaker 1: Like what makes you think that you're gonna stand out
- 50:50Speaker 1: and be special doing the same exact shit and we
- 50:52Speaker 1: know that outcome. Bro. Yeah you already seen this movie
- 50:55Speaker 1: play out. There's people who did this for you just
- 50:57Speaker 1: to show you like, yeah, yo, it's decades of seeing
- 51:00Speaker 1: it though. Bro. We got hundreds of homies, maybe a
- 51:04Speaker 1: thousand homies in jail with life and like they wish
- 51:07Speaker 1: they wouldn't have did this shit. So it's like, bro,
- 51:11Speaker 1: and that's why that's why my transition into this shit,
- 51:15Speaker 1: Like sometimes it's difficult, but when I look at that,
- 51:17Speaker 1: it's like, all right, I could be doing this and
- 51:20Speaker 1: be stuck in and out of prison. Who wants to
- 51:22Speaker 1: do that? Who gives a fuck about that? You know
- 51:24Speaker 1: what I'm saying. It's like, all right, do something different?
- 51:27Speaker 1: What can I bring different to the hood. So my
- 51:28Speaker 1: presence is bringing that different shit and making it cool,
- 51:33Speaker 1: Like all right, let's do music, let's do clothes, do
- 51:36Speaker 1: all right? You water? You don't rap? Or yeah, water,
- 51:39Speaker 1: you don't rap? All right? Uh, you don't even want
- 51:43Speaker 1: to be in the entertainment shit. Okay, it's real estate,
- 51:45Speaker 1: it's other business shit like, and it's fine. You steal
- 51:48Speaker 1: a homie, you still cool, Like fuck with niggas talking
- 51:52Speaker 1: about you know what I'm saying. You know what it is, manute.
- 51:53Speaker 1: I think it's a lot of it is there is
- 51:55Speaker 1: feeling like you, like you, everyone is guilty of trying
- 52:02Speaker 1: to fit in, trying to fit in and being and
- 52:04Speaker 1: feel like they're included. And I had to I had
- 52:08Speaker 1: a difficult time with that ship when I came into
- 52:11Speaker 1: this because you know, naturally I'm in the forefront of
- 52:14Speaker 1: all the ignorant shit, and then when I transition over,
- 52:18Speaker 1: now I'm missing it and I'm not there, and then
- 52:21Speaker 1: it's people saying slick shit when I ain't around, like
- 52:24Speaker 1: that shit. Was very difficult transitioning over and being able
- 52:28Speaker 1: to accept it. But it's like, once you get over
- 52:31Speaker 1: into the transition, it's all worth it, because motherfucker's gonna
- 52:35Speaker 1: follow success and want to be like success regardless, you
- 52:38Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. Was it hard also to ignore
- 52:41Speaker 1: when you hear someone saying some wild shits, Very fucking
- 52:44Speaker 1: difficult because you got a lot to lose while the
- 52:47Speaker 1: motherfucker probably talking crazy and got shit to lose. Bro
- 52:49Speaker 1: Very difficult, and I had to realize that, like, all right,
- 52:52Speaker 1: my contribution to the area, like there's always been one
- 52:56Speaker 1: million from the jump, you know what I'm saying, like
- 52:59Speaker 1: I keep spot for homies to go to and shit
- 53:01Speaker 1: for people to go to. So nine times out of ten,
- 53:03Speaker 1: somebody lending a negative opinion about me ain't even had
- 53:09Speaker 1: any contribution to the area in a positive or negative way,
- 53:12Speaker 1: like in any type of way that makes a difference anyway.
- 53:16Speaker 1: But yeah, that shit was like super difficult for me
- 53:19Speaker 1: to uh, I hear all that shit, you know what
- 53:21Speaker 1: I'm saying. And at first it was super difficult to
- 53:25Speaker 1: turn the other cheek because I'm used to the action,
- 53:27Speaker 1: like nigga, what's happening? But bro, I worked entirely too
- 53:30Speaker 1: hard and you got a lot more to lose. Man.
- 53:33Speaker 1: It's and it's not only me. Yeah, it's like a
- 53:35Speaker 1: lot of people. Partner that's working with me, and he
- 53:38Speaker 1: putting in these fucking hours with me, you know what
- 53:40Speaker 1: I'm saying, and other people that believe in me and
- 53:42Speaker 1: might be invested, and they got families, and so it's
- 53:46Speaker 1: bigger than me at this point. So for me to
- 53:48Speaker 1: go backwards and do some dickhead shit not only like
- 53:51Speaker 1: fuck letting people down. I'm I'm fucking people shit up,
- 53:55Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, And you know, people could
- 53:57Speaker 1: be anywhere it's a big world. Like it's so many
- 54:00Speaker 1: different ways to make money, and like the music game
- 54:03Speaker 1: is like worse than a fucking Loto. You'll win a
- 54:05Speaker 1: lot over before you fucking be big. And this ship,
- 54:08Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. So, you know, I think
- 54:11Speaker 1: about that too. That's some real shit. There's so many rappers.
- 54:15Speaker 1: I don't know. I think it's Spotify. There's like I
- 54:18Speaker 1: forget how many songs a week it uploaded. It's something,
- 54:20Speaker 1: it's something ridiculous close to them. It's a few hundred thousand,
- 54:24Speaker 1: it's a lot, and you gotta think like, okay, and
- 54:27Speaker 1: being able to cut through that, like to even be
- 54:29Speaker 1: in the top couple hundred people or the top thousand people,
- 54:34Speaker 1: like that's fucking huge. Yeah, that's that Shit's it's almost impossible, right, Yeah,
- 54:41Speaker 1: talk about the g Worthy shit? G Worthy? Oh yeah,
- 54:43Speaker 1: so the g Worthy that was another night that was crazy.
- 54:48Speaker 1: So when I walked in, we walked in the studio
- 54:52Speaker 1: and I was like, I had like a cold, so
- 54:54Speaker 1: I got night whil trying to like open my shit up,
- 54:57Speaker 1: you know what I mean. And then as soon as
- 54:59Speaker 1: I walk in, this was the first night I met Cardo.
- 55:01Speaker 1: We've been talking on the phone and shit, you know,
- 55:03Speaker 1: Cardo he up on everything new that's up and coming,
- 55:08Speaker 1: anything that's a thing, Like he just got some sense
- 55:12Speaker 1: on how to like, Oh yeah, that's so he up
- 55:15Speaker 1: on everything new. So this was my first time. And
- 55:17Speaker 1: then just meeting them as soon as we walk in
- 55:20Speaker 1: jokes bagging, I felt like we've been knowing each other
- 55:23Speaker 1: for years, bros, you know what I mean. And Jay
- 55:27Speaker 1: Worthy had already started on a song, so the competitiveness
- 55:31Speaker 1: in me woke up inside. I'm hot, Oh this nigga?
- 55:35Speaker 1: What all right? So now it's like we basically in
- 55:39Speaker 1: my mind, I didn't say it out loud. I don't
- 55:41Speaker 1: know what he was thinking, but every time something come on,
- 55:44Speaker 1: I'm trying to get on there first. That's why sometimes
- 55:46Speaker 1: you hear him first, sometimes you hear me first. That's
- 55:49Speaker 1: like who ate. At that time, I was still riding
- 55:51Speaker 1: my wraps. And then while we're doing this Cardo, Polyester,
- 55:56Speaker 1: Diamond Ortiz, they over there making the beats. So we
- 55:59Speaker 1: did all all that ship in one night one night,
- 56:01Speaker 1: and the next the next day we did the album cover.
- 56:05Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. Wow, So this was like
- 56:07Speaker 1: a one night process, you know, what I mean, and
- 56:09Speaker 1: we was just all in there, just were joking, having
- 56:12Speaker 1: a good time, but just the aggressive competitive spirit was
- 56:17Speaker 1: also there, and that shit was till this day. That's
- 56:20Speaker 1: like some of my top streaming ship. That's what everybody
- 56:23Speaker 1: you know a lot of Yeah, Cardosh got had a
- 56:26Speaker 1: great run just doing full projects with people and yeah,
- 56:30Speaker 1: you know, running it up Larry. He just drops up
- 56:32Speaker 1: with Larry June, right, that's Friday. Yeah, Cardo was amazing. Man,
- 56:35Speaker 1: he just he got something about him. Man. Yeah, Cardo,
- 56:40Speaker 1: you know, I think he's under appreciated too. We talk
- 56:42Speaker 1: about the best producers. Yeah's Cardo definitely up there. He's
- 56:46Speaker 1: up there for sure. Who are you a fan of
- 56:48Speaker 1: right now? In LA? That's that you're maybe not you know,
- 56:51Speaker 1: did you just not anybody who's maybe under you, but
- 56:54Speaker 1: just someone who you just can acknowledge, Like, man, I
- 56:56Speaker 1: really fuck with their ship. I mean I'm really I'm
- 56:59Speaker 1: enjoying the whole LA scene right now. Like I love
- 57:02Speaker 1: what uh, I love what rumble like rambles fire like
- 57:07Speaker 1: rumble like rumble like definitely like like Draco came and
- 57:11Speaker 1: changed the game, you know what I'm saying, And then
- 57:13Speaker 1: I feel like rumble was taking it to like adding
- 57:17Speaker 1: his twist on it. You know what I'm saying. That
- 57:19Speaker 1: got everybody rapping like him, Like love what Rumbo doing.
- 57:22Speaker 1: I love what Draco doing. I love what Rouchie and
- 57:25Speaker 1: Shike doing. I love what a man. It's so many
- 57:29Speaker 1: people like right now on the come up. That's that's
- 57:32Speaker 1: out here far oh g Z killing you know what
- 57:35Speaker 1: I mean. I hate starting to name names because you
- 57:40Speaker 1: know what I mean. But uh, like I'm just I'm
- 57:43Speaker 1: really a fan of the whole city, you know what
- 57:44Speaker 1: I'm saying, Like I'm for the just La ship, Like
- 57:48Speaker 1: I'm like a diehard La nigga. You know what I'm saying. Yeah,
- 57:51Speaker 1: it's crazy, Like Draco, like the output he has is
- 57:55Speaker 1: also insane. Yeah, I don't even know how many he
- 57:57Speaker 1: got out last year. We interviewed him like a can'tgu
- 58:00Speaker 1: I don't even think he meant on for a year yet. No,
- 58:02Speaker 1: he hasn't and he's put out six albums. It's fucking insane.
- 58:06Speaker 1: It's like Jesus man, Guys, it's a lot. I hope
- 58:10Speaker 1: him and We're gonna have Hiking Broutchi up your next
- 58:12Speaker 1: I hope they figure out their issues, you know, because
- 58:15Speaker 1: I was like, the first body make more money that way?
- 58:17Speaker 1: Hey for sure, man, what is next for you? Man? Uh?
- 58:24Speaker 1: I got a lot of it. I got a few
- 58:25Speaker 1: things on my sleeve, you know what I mean. But
- 58:27Speaker 1: more music, another project. So like with the everything that
- 58:31Speaker 1: I'm in dropping, I ain't even really spend no money
- 58:33Speaker 1: on marketing at all. So the top of the year,
- 58:36Speaker 1: we're just going crazy heavy marketing. I'm opening up, I'm
- 58:40Speaker 1: spending the budget, you know what I mean, the top
- 58:42Speaker 1: of the year. So we're just gonna finish off the
- 58:44Speaker 1: year probably another project or two. I got something the
- 58:47Speaker 1: collab project besides the Greed. Do you have any other
- 58:50Speaker 1: any other artists you want to try to collab with them? Yeah,
- 58:51Speaker 1: it's a it's a few people that I'm working on
- 58:54Speaker 1: and working with, you know what I mean. It's gonna
- 58:56Speaker 1: be dope when we when we announce it and ship,
- 58:58Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. So, I mean next year,
- 59:00Speaker 1: I just wanted to just level everything up and then
- 59:03Speaker 1: I've been shooting these short films and ship. So I
- 59:05Speaker 1: got a couple of short films that I'm about to drop.
- 59:07Speaker 1: Oh fire, Yeah, I want to get into the acting.
- 59:09Speaker 1: I did a couple of movies. Uh, I did like
- 59:11Speaker 1: two movies last year. I did a movie this year,
- 59:14Speaker 1: you know what I mean, like some actual real movies.
- 59:16Speaker 1: You know what I mean? Are you getting like what what?
- 59:18Speaker 1: What kind of roles is are you getting? Like type
- 59:20Speaker 1: casted is like the game. Yeah, the first ship I
- 59:24Speaker 1: did was a It was type cast and they had
- 59:27Speaker 1: me being I kind of hated it because it's like
- 59:29Speaker 1: you got me playing a La dude like I'm at
- 59:33Speaker 1: I'm like the epitome of La gangster. Like you don't
- 59:36Speaker 1: got to tell me what to say, like that's what
- 59:39Speaker 1: you do. Yeah, I'm gonna give you the raw, uncut shit.
- 59:42Speaker 1: But like the last movie that I did was U
- 59:46Speaker 1: and I think it might turn into a TV series,
- 59:48Speaker 1: So I'm gonna be a real current character. Yeah, fucking
- 59:52Speaker 1: Vanessa del Rio, which is like one of the first
- 59:55Speaker 1: ethnic porno stars ever, Like before her, it was nothing
- 59:59Speaker 1: but white girls and shit. She like Afro Latina from
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: out the seventies, like just doing like crazy porn and
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: should do some research. So yeah, I'm in her bio
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: pic and oh ship, Yeah, oh that's fire. I'm in
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: our bio pick. It's like some pictures floating around and
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: that they promoting the movie where I got the afro
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: and the bail bottoms and ship. So that might be
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: that might that's the one that I end up being
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: a series. Yeah, that's fire. Yeah, that's an interesting story. Yeah.
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: So you know, I'm in there doing my thing, you
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: know what I mean? And uh, yeah, I'm in there
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: doing my thing and uh and then the ship that
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: I'm working on, Like, I got a couple of movies
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: just like type Cast, and then I got some you
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: know that I want to expand on that because I
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: really want to do this acting ship, bro, you know
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: what I mean. Yeah, we just watched you Smoke video
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: the other day. You were in it. That's the longest
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: video I've seen a long time. Yeah. Yeah, I was
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: fun when we did that video too. Yeah, everybody was there.
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: You are j I was like like, this is fire.
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: What your like relationship? Did you have a relationship with
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: d Smoke prior to him obviously getting the notety from
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: being on the show. Yeah, So D Smoke actually box
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: at Broadway Boxing Gym, and you know that's where my
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: studio was under there and my first store was also
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: up under there. So I met him like years before
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: he blew up. And I didn't even know he was
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: talented like or sung or anything. I just know he
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: was a boxer. Nigga. That fuck nigga's up, you know
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: what I'm saying. And I remember you had a boxing
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: match like one day that I had to pop up
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: down there and ship and he kicked somebody ass, you
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: know what I mean. And then I don't know if
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: they want us to say this yet, but me, d
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: Smoke and David Gross actually owned that building. Now, oh
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: congrats and in the boxing gym or spoiler alert, I
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: hope they're not mad at fire Yeah, so we uh
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: you bought the building so yeah yeah yeah, and we
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: we own a Broadway boxing so it came with a business.
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: So now you smoke business Parders yep. Oh that's fire
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: Man yep. And the crazy thing like we were speaking
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: on it like bro, like if the opportunity ever present itself,
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: I love to own that building. He liked me too,
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: And the opportunity presented itself like sixty days later, Wow,
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: and we in there, you know what I mean. So
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: the building that means a lot to both of you guys. Yeah, super,
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: because I changed my whole life right there in that building.
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: Like from a hunt from the valley to one hundred
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: and eighte every day. That's where I transition into all right,
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: out of having to do criminal ship, Like all right,
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: and now I'm creating opportunities for people in the area.
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: You know what I mean. Scrats, Man, that's huge. That's
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: what I look. You know, that's a that's a nice investment.
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: That's not a that's not a may back. It's a
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: super dop investment. So and that's why I say I
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: want to give me a may back. Man, He's like, yeah,
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: I made a good one. Now immunicate bad. But but yeah,
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: I'm definitely gonna uh looking to grab other properties and shit,
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: like I gotta I got like a nice I think
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: this is the first time of my life, Like I
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: got a like serious future plan and it's actually like
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: beyond possible. But the numbers is so big and crazy,
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: like it's like I'm in a great position right now. Yes, man, congratulations,
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: uh looking forward to the new music. Yeah, and man,
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: thanks for pulling up man, thanks for having me
