- 0:00Speaker 1: This is Kiss Breakfast.
- 0:02Speaker 2: Hey, here's Nat with a hit of celebrity gossip.
- 0:05Speaker 3: Yeah, so there was a celebrity that kind of tried
- 0:07Speaker 3: to pull the do you know who I am card.
- 0:09Speaker 4: Don't you know who I am?
- 0:10Speaker 3: Not in those exact words, but more so their lawyer
- 0:13Speaker 3: that tried to pull the celebrity card to get them
- 0:16Speaker 3: out of the charges that they were on or get
- 0:18Speaker 3: the charges lessened.
- 0:19Speaker 4: So, you know Rick Ross, the rapper? And he's known for, oh,
- 0:23Speaker 4: that's his noise. You know how all rappers have a noise?
- 0:26Speaker 4: His is, oh.
- 0:27Speaker 1: He just mainly features on stuff, right? Unless you're really
- 0:29Speaker 1: into rap.
- 0:29Speaker 4: That big song, Every Day I'm Hustling, that's him. That's
- 0:33Speaker 4: his biggest, what he's known for.
- 0:34Speaker 3: But if you're into rap, he's done a song called
- 0:36Speaker 3: Aston Martin Music. He featured on Monster with Kanye West
- 0:40Speaker 3: and Jay-Z and all that. So he's a big deal,
- 0:42Speaker 3: but bigger in the US because they have a bigger
- 0:44Speaker 3: hip hop scene over there. So he was arrested at
- 0:47Speaker 3: his home in Miami last week because he was accused
- 0:50Speaker 3: of domestic violence.
- 0:51Speaker 4: Against his girlfriend.
- 0:53Speaker 3: So he pleaded not guilty to the charges and a
- 0:57Speaker 3: video from court is going viral because his lawyer basically
- 1:00Speaker 3: said to the judge, like he was trying to say
- 1:03Speaker 3: he should be treated a little bit differently to a
- 1:05Speaker 3: normal case because he's a celebrity and he's sitting there
- 1:07Speaker 3: in a jumpsuit.
- 1:08Speaker 4: Like we need to look at this as like a
- 1:11Speaker 4: celebrity kind of thing.
- 1:12Speaker 2: That's disgusting.
- 1:12Speaker 4: Let's have a listen to what happened. Mr.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Roberts is a celebrity, so I don't know. So what
- 1:19Speaker 1: does that mean?
- 1:19Speaker 2: I don't know to whatever degree Your Honor can, but
- 1:22Speaker 2: I'd ask that his release be expedited.
- 1:24Speaker 3: He's in a red jumpsuit, and for purposes of his safety,
- 1:27Speaker 3: I don't know what Your Honor can do.
- 1:29Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:29Speaker 3: Hi, Mr. Roberts. I have no idea who you are,
- 1:31Speaker 3: except there's somebody here in the court who's going to
- 1:33Speaker 3: be treated fairly just like everybody else here.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Abso-bloody-lutely.
- 1:36Speaker 4: Because the I have no idea who you are.
- 1:39Speaker 1: Yeah, but it's not relevant.
- 1:40Speaker 3: But also, I'm a celebrity, so can we get.
- 1:43Speaker 1: That lawyer is shit.
- 1:44Speaker 3: What are you.
- 1:45Speaker 4: He's an idiot.
- 1:46Speaker 1: He's a celebrity.
- 1:47Speaker 3: It would have been Rick Ross saying, oh, like, you know,
- 1:50Speaker 3: I'm a celebrity and I'm sitting here like this.
- 1:52Speaker 4: They're treating me like this. Like, he's a rapper. He
- 1:55Speaker 4: show ponies around.
- 1:56Speaker 3: He's wearing, like, in the photo I've got here, he's
- 1:58Speaker 3: wearing 65 gold chains.
- 2:00Speaker 4: That's the way they act.
- 2:02Speaker 1: How good was that judgment? She's like, I don't care.
- 2:04Speaker 4: Yeah. Right?
- 2:05Speaker 1: And you should have.
- 2:06Speaker 4: I'm glad she didn't.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Totally.
- 2:08Speaker 3: 1-800-RESPECT is available for free 24-7 domestic violence support in Australia,
- 2:12Speaker 3: just in case you need it.
- 2:14Speaker 4: Also, Marcelo Hernandez. Now, he's an American actor.
- 2:17Speaker 3: And comedian that you'd probably know mostly from SNL, but
- 2:20Speaker 3: also if you watch that new Kevin Hart movie on
- 2:23Speaker 3: Netflix called 72 Hours, he was in that. But anyway,
- 2:26Speaker 3: he was a guest on Amy Poehler's podcast and he's
- 2:30Speaker 3: what we call these days a short king.
- 2:33Speaker 4: He's 5'8.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Right.
- 2:34Speaker 4: So he's a shorter man.
- 2:36Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:36Speaker 3: And he had a message for all people, Gen Zs
- 2:39Speaker 3: in particular, because Gen Zs are the ones that are
- 2:41Speaker 3: now branding them as short kings.
- 2:44Speaker 4: Back in the day, us millennials were just like, oh,
- 2:46Speaker 4: that guy's tiny, you know.
- 2:47Speaker 3: But now there's like a resurgence of the short man
- 2:50Speaker 3: because of people like Tom Holland who's shorter than his
- 2:52Speaker 3: wife Zendaya and like, you know, there's Gen Z's that
- 2:56Speaker 3: are praising short kings. But Marcelo has a message for
- 3:00Speaker 3: all those people.
- 3:01Speaker 4: Take a listen.
- 3:02Speaker 5: I just want you to know Gen Z loves short guys.
- 3:04Speaker 4: Yes, but why, right? Why?
- 3:05Speaker 1: That's the question. Because they love short kings. Out of
- 3:08Speaker 1: guilt of what they've done to the shorts for years.
- 3:10Speaker 3: The shorts.
- 3:11Speaker 4: And you know what?
- 3:11Speaker 1: Now we don't care. On behalf of the shorts, we
- 3:14Speaker 1: don't care.
- 3:14Speaker 3: The shorts.
- 3:16Speaker 1: We don't care what you want to say to us,
- 3:17Speaker 1: short king. Like, I need that. I taught myself to
- 3:21Speaker 1: have self-esteem because you wouldn't give it to me.
- 3:24Speaker 4: Okay.
- 3:25Speaker 1: Women in their bio talking about must be six feet
- 3:27Speaker 1: to ride this roller coaster.
- 3:28Speaker 3: That is very short king behavior.
- 3:32Speaker 4: He's getting his back up. Yeah.
- 3:34Speaker 1: But what is he, five?
- 3:35Speaker 4: 5'8, which I don't think is super, super short.
- 3:38Speaker 2: No, like 5... What would you say is short for
- 3:41Speaker 2: a dude? Like 5'5, 6?
- 3:44Speaker 5: My very first boyfriend was the same height as me,
- 3:47Speaker 5: so he would have been like 5'7. Maybe we were 5'6.
- 3:49Speaker 4: At the time.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Yeah, until you grew. And he didn't grow anymore.
- 3:54Speaker 5: He was short for a dude.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Five sixes, yeah.
- 3:56Speaker 1: I've looked it up.
- 3:57Speaker 3: I've looked up the average height of both men and
- 3:59Speaker 3: women in Australia. So I guess you could argue anything
- 4:02Speaker 3: shorter or taller than those figures mean you're short or tall.
- 4:05Speaker 4: So in Australia, for men, the average height is 5'9
- 4:08Speaker 4: to 5'10. So average. I actually thought it would be taller.
- 4:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:11Speaker 3: And then for women, it's 5'3 and a half to 5'4,
- 4:15Speaker 3: which means I at 5'5, which I thought was average,
- 4:17Speaker 3: I'm tall.
- 4:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:19Speaker 1: You are for a woman, but you are actually tall.
- 4:22Speaker 4: For a woman. I am a giraffe, basically.
- 4:24Speaker 3: I'm 5'7.
- 4:26Speaker 2: Right, because your boyfriend was 5'6, 5'7.
- 4:29Speaker 1: Yeah, that's tall for a chick. Is it?
- 4:32Speaker 2: Yeah, there's not many girls around that are that tall.
- 4:35Speaker 5: I am probably one of the, like, it depends, different
- 4:38Speaker 5: girl groups, but I'm one of the shortest in one
- 4:40Speaker 5: of the girl groups.
- 4:40Speaker 4: You have two sons.
- 4:42Speaker 2: Yes.
- 4:42Speaker 3: I mean, I feel as if it's one of those
- 4:44Speaker 3: things where, like, I'm going to be a parent, obviously,
- 4:46Speaker 3: but I'm having a girl, so I wouldn't want her
- 4:48Speaker 3: to be super tall because then she stands out.
- 4:51Speaker 4: It's the opposite, right? You don't want a short guy
- 4:53Speaker 4: or a tall girl.
- 4:54Speaker 1: I want to know that, right?
- 4:55Speaker 2: For men, and obviously we were talking about the short kings,
- 4:58Speaker 2: most men would want to be 6'4, if they could be,
- 5:01Speaker 2: or around that, right? So for a woman, what would
- 5:04Speaker 2: your ideal height be?
- 5:06Speaker 4: Mine is what.
- 5:07Speaker 3: I am, 5'5.
- 5:08Speaker 4: I like 5'7.
- 5:09Speaker 5: And I think it's interesting because both my parents are
- 5:11Speaker 5: both 5'11. So my mum and dad.
- 5:14Speaker 4: Oh, your mum's 5'11.
- 5:14Speaker 5: Yeah, my mum's 5'11. Yeah.
- 5:16Speaker 1: So with heels, she's taller.
- 5:17Speaker 5: Yeah, she never wears heels because then she'll be.
- 5:19Speaker 4: Taller than my dad.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Dad's like, no, I don't feel like a man.
- 5:22Speaker 4: Don't emasculate me, Sal.
- 5:23Speaker 3: I was going to ask, with two sons, can you
- 5:26Speaker 3: tell already if they're going to be tall?
- 5:27Speaker 4: Because Ryan's tall, isn't he? Yes.
- 5:29Speaker 1: Too tall will make her tall.
- 5:30Speaker 4: This is interesting.
- 5:32Speaker 5: So two parents, 5'11. I'm 5'7, and both my brothers
- 5:35Speaker 5: are 6'1.
- 5:38Speaker 4: Yeah, okay.
- 5:39Speaker 1: But you are still tall for a lady.
- 5:42Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:42Speaker 4: Your parents are 5'11. Yeah.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Yeah, but maybe if your dad was 6'4, and your
- 5:46Speaker 2: mum was 5'11, you would have been taller.
- 5:47Speaker 4: But they can be throwbacks.
- 5:49Speaker 3: You see these people, and it's like two short parents,
- 5:51Speaker 3: and the kid's like 6'5. Yeah.
- 5:53Speaker 4: And you're like, how.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Did that happen?
- 5:54Speaker 2: Where's that come from?
- 5:55Speaker 4: The milkman. So your sons, you think, are pretty well,
- 5:58Speaker 4: it's guaranteed they'll be tall.
- 5:59Speaker 5: I think they'll be quite tall, yeah. I think Kobe, definitely.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Thing? Yeah, one of my father's proudest achievements is raising
- 6:07Speaker 2: two sons who clocked over six foot tall.
- 6:09Speaker 5: Yeah, and is your dad not six foot?
- 6:11Speaker 1: Just under.
- 6:12Speaker 2: So I'm wondering if Ryan would be proud if your
- 6:14Speaker 2: boys grow up to be taller than him.
- 6:15Speaker 4: He's a thing, yeah. It's a thing.
- 6:18Speaker 1: How tall is your mum? Oh, probably around Amy's height.
- 6:21Speaker 4: Yeah, 5'7.
- 6:22Speaker 5: 5'7, yeah.
- 6:23Speaker 2: So, yeah, no, I just wonder if the tallness of
- 6:26Speaker 2: both parents adds to it or something.
- 6:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know. I don't freaking know. Yeah.
- 6:29Speaker 4: Who knows? Genetics, eh?
- 6:31Speaker 1: Weird. Oh, you're having a girl.
- 6:33Speaker 2: Girl.
- 6:34Speaker 1: And you're 5'5, and your partner, he's tall, yeah?
- 6:36Speaker 3: 6'3.
- 6:37Speaker 1: I wonder how tall your girl will be then.
- 6:39Speaker 2: 5'7, Amy's height.
- 6:40Speaker 4: That's fine. That's fine.
- 6:42Speaker 3: But if she's tall, she's got to be a sports
- 6:45Speaker 3: person or a model or she's got to use that
- 6:48Speaker 3: height to her advantage.
- 6:49Speaker 4: Basketball, something.
- 6:50Speaker 2: I do know the cutoff for female models. I'm an
- 6:52Speaker 2: expert in this. Oh, yes.
- 6:55Speaker 3: Why do you know that?
- 6:57Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 6:58Speaker 3: 5'9.
- 6:58Speaker 2: So there's no, like, yeah, there's swimwear models and stuff.
- 7:01Speaker 5: As in you can't be that under 5'9.
- 7:04Speaker 2: All those runway models that are female are at least 5'9.
- 7:07Speaker 3: Yeah, it's because as soon as you put a short
- 7:10Speaker 3: girl up on that runway for some reason, you look
- 7:13Speaker 3: stocky unless you're tall.
- 7:14Speaker 4: And also they want the clothes to hang on. You
- 7:16Speaker 4: need the long legs.
- 7:18Speaker 1: Yes, you're right.
- 7:19Speaker 2: But, like, there's swimwear models and stuff that are a
- 7:20Speaker 2: bit shorter.
- 7:21Speaker 4: It's runway particularly.
- 7:23Speaker 1: 5'9, at least.
- 7:24Speaker 4: Okay.
- 7:25Speaker 2: So.
- 7:25Speaker 3: Oh, damn. If you just had two inches on you, Amy,
- 7:29Speaker 3: that's all that was standing in your way.
- 7:31Speaker 5: Victoria's Secret would have been calling off the hook.
