- 1:07Speaker 4: one one of our co hosts just didn't hit record.
- 1:11Speaker 4: Let's just say the one who's an amateur and more
- 1:13Speaker 4: of an idiot than the boxing expert didn't hit record.
- 1:15Speaker 4: I don't know it all happens.
- 1:19Speaker 2: I'm glad we're back, and I'm glad we do have
- 1:21Speaker 2: a different guests, though I want you to bring, you know,
- 1:24Speaker 2: intro our guests and bring them on.
- 1:25Speaker 4: But we have a bit of a surprise, a good surprise.
- 1:28Speaker 4: Though we do have a surprise. We get we get
- 1:30Speaker 4: to have a due over on our first time, don't
- 1:32Speaker 4: we wish we could all have a due over on
- 1:34Speaker 4: the first time. So we're going to bring to the
- 1:36Speaker 4: stage a fighter, professional fighter based in Phoenix. So you know,
- 1:41Speaker 4: fellow Arizona, I'm from Tucson or I'm in Tucson rather,
- 1:44Speaker 4: and he's got a fight coming up. Not this weekend,
- 1:47Speaker 4: but if you're listening to this when it comes out Saturday,
- 1:50Speaker 4: April nineteenth, let's not delay. Let's bring in our man
- 1:53Speaker 4: to the stage. Welcome to the ring, Triny, Oho, Triny.
- 1:56Speaker 4: How's it going?
- 1:57Speaker 3: How's it going? Guys? Thanks for having me now.
- 2:00Speaker 4: Thank you so much. We really really appreciate you. How
- 2:02Speaker 4: will you? How are you feeling? You know, I know
- 2:04Speaker 4: you got a fight coming up, you know, what's that
- 2:07Speaker 4: about a week and a half out. What's the feeling
- 2:10Speaker 4: at this point? Like are you stoked? Are you still
- 2:13Speaker 4: kind of is it not ready in your mind yet?
- 2:15Speaker 4: Like Are you always ready all the time?
- 2:17Speaker 5: Tell us I'm always ready. I'm excited. I'm looking forward
- 2:20Speaker 5: to the fight.
- 2:20Speaker 6: It's always like like a holiday for me, like another.
- 2:23Speaker 5: Birthday in the day where everybody gets together, everybody shows
- 2:26Speaker 5: up to the fights. I put on a good show
- 2:28Speaker 5: where everybody has a good time and everybody celebrates. So
- 2:31Speaker 5: it's always a great time. Is something for me to
- 2:33Speaker 5: look forward to always. And I've been losing the weight,
- 2:36Speaker 5: I've been doing great training, giving up with my sparring.
- 2:40Speaker 5: Everything's going great this camp, and I just aford it awesome.
- 2:45Speaker 4: Awesome, And who exactly are you fighting?
- 2:50Speaker 6: He's gonna be thirteen to one. He's a tough fighter.
- 2:54Speaker 5: He has a ton of amateur experience too. And I'm
- 2:58Speaker 5: I'm ready though. We've done our research, and I feel
- 3:01Speaker 5: like I could. At this point in my career, I
- 3:03Speaker 5: could take on anybody, and I should be taking any
- 3:05Speaker 5: fight sick.
- 3:07Speaker 3: Gotcha?
- 3:08Speaker 4: Gotcha? So let me tell you something. I've taken some
- 3:11Speaker 4: boxing classes. I've done a lot of sparing in my day.
- 3:14Speaker 4: Nothing serious. I'm just never good at it. Got my
- 3:17Speaker 4: ass kicked a lot. I gotta be honest with you,
- 3:19Speaker 4: but it was a lot of fun. I did it
- 3:20Speaker 4: for fun. I never thought that, you know, I would
- 3:22Speaker 4: do be anything professional. I'm thirty nine, so like I'm
- 3:25Speaker 4: nobody's champ. Let's let's be real about it. But it
- 3:27Speaker 4: was a lot of fun. It was a lot of
- 3:29Speaker 4: hard work. And I have a lot of questions for
- 3:30Speaker 4: somebody that really does this, you know, professionally in a ring.
- 3:34Speaker 4: You know, I have a million questions. But let's see.
- 3:37Speaker 4: Let's say let's say I was twenty to fifteen years
- 3:39Speaker 4: younger and I wanted to actually go from a boxing
- 3:43Speaker 4: gym to be in an event in a ring, you know,
- 3:46Speaker 4: with with spectators and stuff. What's that process? I've never
- 3:49Speaker 4: known how a guy goes from just you know, hitting
- 3:51Speaker 4: a bag and sparring in a ring to being inside
- 3:54Speaker 4: being at an event.
- 3:55Speaker 3: What's that?
- 3:56Speaker 5: Well, well, first of all, we all get our ass kick,
- 3:59Speaker 5: and it's just coming back, keep getting your ass kicked
- 4:02Speaker 5: until you don't get your ass kicked anymore.
- 4:04Speaker 3: And that's usually the process with that. No worries on that.
- 4:08Speaker 4: I got that work, and.
- 4:11Speaker 6: Uh, I know it all just starts with showing up
- 4:15Speaker 6: at a boxing gym.
- 4:17Speaker 5: I talked to the coaches seeing, you know what what
- 4:20Speaker 5: they're what they're what the coaches are like, like if
- 4:23Speaker 5: they have other amateur fighters going to amateur shows and stuff.
- 4:27Speaker 5: Because it all starts with the amateurs, and you know,
- 4:31Speaker 5: you let them know your intentions. If your intentions is
- 4:34Speaker 5: to be a fighter right away, you let them know
- 4:36Speaker 5: your intentions and just to establish.
- 4:39Speaker 6: That, like to keep an eye on you.
- 4:42Speaker 5: And yeah, they won't give you mitwork or anything right away,
- 4:44Speaker 5: but as long as you're showing up every day, you're
- 4:46Speaker 5: showing you you have the drive, the passion to be
- 4:49Speaker 5: in the gym and to put in the work and
- 4:52Speaker 5: just show up consistently. Eventually, Uh, a coach or two
- 4:56Speaker 5: will see you and and they'll start giving you that mitwork,
- 5:00Speaker 5: seeing what you're about, start seeing if you really committed
- 5:02Speaker 5: to it, start showing you a thing or two here
- 5:04Speaker 5: and there, and it goes from there. Eventually you know,
- 5:06Speaker 5: you'll find yourself an amateur fighter too. And then that's
- 5:10Speaker 5: when we really get tested to see if you have
- 5:13Speaker 5: it in you to be a fighter, to stand on
- 5:15Speaker 5: that stage with the people watching and fighting and uh,
- 5:21Speaker 5: and you just you just keep it going.
- 5:23Speaker 4: From there, gotcha? So from the amateurs, you know, is
- 5:28Speaker 4: that something that what's then jumping off process from that.
- 5:31Speaker 4: I mean, does somebody have to kind of is it
- 5:33Speaker 4: like other sports we get scouted, you know, somebody like
- 5:35Speaker 4: a scout doing for a little league or anything like that, Like.
- 5:39Speaker 5: There's no that's the difference with Boxing's not really no
- 5:44Speaker 5: fine line. Professional boxers have a wide why the whitest
- 5:49Speaker 5: the range of skill sets from from the top of
- 5:52Speaker 5: the top to the low of the low. When you
- 5:57Speaker 5: feel like you're ready to become a professional after you
- 6:01Speaker 5: know certa amount of amateur fights, you hop in there
- 6:04Speaker 5: and you do your thing and you try to do
- 6:07Speaker 5: the best to show you the best of your abilities
- 6:09Speaker 5: on that professional stage. And it's a lot different when
- 6:12Speaker 5: no head gear, smaller gloves, and it's all different fighting
- 6:15Speaker 5: staff too for amateurs.
- 6:18Speaker 4: Juremany when I did my sparring, it was just with
- 6:20Speaker 4: some bros on the weekend. You know, nobody was trying
- 6:22Speaker 4: to knock you out, but nobody wore headgear. And I
- 6:25Speaker 4: had a thing, but I wasn't going to come in
- 6:27Speaker 4: and being the only one with it, because then I'd
- 6:28Speaker 4: be like, I'm no coward, right, Like, if these guys
- 6:31Speaker 4: are going to do it, it was stupid, But I
- 6:33Speaker 4: don't know they were doing it. But yeah, so how
- 6:37Speaker 4: long have you actually what did you get into boxing?
- 6:39Speaker 6: How long you've been I had my first amateur fight
- 6:41Speaker 6: when I was fourteen.
- 6:43Speaker 5: My first uh my coach at the time, Jose Benavitez,
- 6:48Speaker 5: that's who taught me my first two years of boxing,
- 6:50Speaker 5: started off my amateur career and all that. So I
- 6:53Speaker 5: was fortunate to have such a such a good prominent.
- 6:57Speaker 7: Coach teach me the fundamental teaching, the basics starting on
- 6:59Speaker 7: my career, and I'm grateful that to this day we
- 7:03Speaker 7: take things that we've learned from me and my dad,
- 7:05Speaker 7: who's down my coach, we.
- 7:08Speaker 6: Take things that we've learned from them and bring with
- 7:11Speaker 6: us today.
- 7:13Speaker 4: Awesome, awesome, you know that's uh. I think boxing is
- 7:17Speaker 4: the coolest part in the world, the hardest sport in
- 7:19Speaker 4: the world as well. And when I started into it,
- 7:22Speaker 4: I got into it in my mid thirties, like I said,
- 7:24Speaker 4: for fun, so again, no way too late to be
- 7:27Speaker 4: anybody's champ. But what stood out to me the most
- 7:31Speaker 4: is how there's so much to it. If everybody thinks,
- 7:34Speaker 4: like your boxer, you gotta be strong, you gotta be
- 7:35Speaker 4: able to punch, and you gotta lift weights, whatever, No,
- 7:37Speaker 4: it's cardio, it's strength from head to toe, legs, it's diet,
- 7:41Speaker 4: it's everything. What would you say the hardest part of
- 7:44Speaker 4: training to be a fighter would be out of all
- 7:46Speaker 4: those things because I was a big cardio guy and
- 7:48Speaker 4: never I did weights because I wanted to get stronger,
- 7:51Speaker 4: but that was never really my thing. But yeah, what's
- 7:54Speaker 4: what would you say for you like the difficult the
- 7:56Speaker 4: most difficult part of staying in shape getting fight ready?
- 7:59Speaker 5: Since exactly that staying in shape, staying fight ready. The
- 8:03Speaker 5: most important part about boxing and the most hardest part
- 8:05Speaker 5: is discipline, staying disciplined in.
- 8:07Speaker 3: And outside of the gym. I'm outside the gym.
- 8:10Speaker 5: You can't be partying with friends, you can't be drinking,
- 8:12Speaker 5: you can't be you know, messing around.
- 8:15Speaker 3: You gotta stay on way. You gotta stay disciplined.
- 8:17Speaker 5: You got to show up to the gym every day,
- 8:19Speaker 5: you know, several times a day even, and you just
- 8:23Speaker 5: got to keep sticking to it and show you your
- 8:25Speaker 5: dedication and your drive to to accomplish your goals that
- 8:29Speaker 5: you have. And it's a good thing too, even if
- 8:32Speaker 5: you're not taking boxing serious, to follow.
- 8:34Speaker 6: Those same principles throughout life.
- 8:37Speaker 4: Sure, agreed. So where's where's the line like between somebody
- 8:42Speaker 4: that has it and does it? I mean you said
- 8:44Speaker 4: show up to the gym every day? Is it seven
- 8:46Speaker 4: days a week? Literally? And then on top of that,
- 8:48Speaker 4: is that like an hour or two hours? Is it
- 8:50Speaker 4: four hours at the gym? Like how do you go
- 8:52Speaker 4: from somebody's really really into boxing, dedicated and then somebody
- 8:57Speaker 4: who just is going to live it is going to
- 8:58Speaker 4: be a professional, Like where where's the disconnect?
- 9:02Speaker 3: Well?
- 9:02Speaker 5: First things first is having a schedule. Like my schedule is,
- 9:06Speaker 5: you know, every day, three.
- 9:08Speaker 3: Times a day.
- 9:10Speaker 5: I have Sundays on my day off, Saturdays I train once,
- 9:15Speaker 5: but Monday through Friday it's every day, three times a day.
- 9:19Speaker 5: I wake up early, get my running and get my
- 9:21Speaker 5: you know a little bit of cardio in. I come
- 9:24Speaker 5: back home, I rest, I wake up again at eleven twelve,
- 9:27Speaker 5: I'll go back to bed, take of the map, wake
- 9:29Speaker 5: up again at eleven twelve, do my boxing training for
- 9:32Speaker 5: at least two hours, get back home, rest up again,
- 9:35Speaker 5: and do my strength conditioning at five point thirty.
- 9:38Speaker 4: Who that's a whole day, Your whole day is decade.
- 9:42Speaker 3: Yeah, I don't.
- 9:43Speaker 4: Want to monopolize the conversation. It's super excited to have
- 9:46Speaker 4: you here. But lease Jamison, please, do you have any
- 9:48Speaker 4: questions for our guest here?
- 9:49Speaker 5: No?
- 9:49Speaker 2: I do. You seem very mentally focused and strong. That's
- 9:53Speaker 2: very good to see. Where does that come from? Because
- 9:56Speaker 2: you're very everything's a strict regimen, very focused on ask
- 10:00Speaker 2: and there's a lot of expectations and you've seen the
- 10:02Speaker 2: man everything very well.
- 10:03Speaker 3: What does that come from?
- 10:06Speaker 5: I have a good relationship with my dad and that's
- 10:09Speaker 5: a big determining factor in that you know, there was
- 10:13Speaker 5: times when we had nothing and and he stayed focused,
- 10:16Speaker 5: he stayed locked in on on on everything in life
- 10:20Speaker 5: where we barely had a house sometimes and he never
- 10:24Speaker 5: he never wavered, he never hesitated. He always just looked
- 10:27Speaker 5: ahead and said taking one step back to take two
- 10:30Speaker 5: steps forward. So I've been in way worse positions in
- 10:33Speaker 5: life and and everything, and I just know that at
- 10:35Speaker 5: the end of thea everything's gonna be okay as long.
- 10:37Speaker 6: As you stick to the plan and UH tough through it.
- 10:41Speaker 2: Got you Now when people call you the face of
- 10:43Speaker 2: Phoenix boxing, what does that mean to you?
- 10:48Speaker 5: It was an honor to see, I think on Ring
- 10:51Speaker 5: magazine when when I saw that article.
- 10:54Speaker 6: It was definitely a big honor.
- 10:56Speaker 5: It's something I wanted to war with pride and carry
- 11:00Speaker 5: on my shoulders and keep lifting that dead title up
- 11:03Speaker 5: even further.
- 11:06Speaker 4: Go ahead, Plassy. Yeah, So speaking of Phoenix boxing scene,
- 11:10Speaker 4: you know, so I'm in Tucson and I've been in
- 11:13Speaker 4: Arizona for like twenty years now. I'm originally from Texas
- 11:16Speaker 4: shout out to h Town, but made Arizona my home.
- 11:19Speaker 4: And you know, honestly, like, I don't know a lot
- 11:22Speaker 4: about the Phoenix boxing scene. I know that there's the
- 11:24Speaker 4: brawl in the body of events that I've been to before.
- 11:26Speaker 4: You know, you got iron Boy Boxing you're involved in.
- 11:29Speaker 4: You know, how would you say the scene is in Arizona? Like,
- 11:32Speaker 4: is there a lot of people that fight, a lot
- 11:34Speaker 4: of people that attend. I'm Mexican American, what I always say,
- 11:37Speaker 4: Mexicans love boxing. Arizona has a lot of them. So
- 11:40Speaker 4: it's popular here. But how popular is it really? Being
- 11:42Speaker 4: an insider, like, do you get big crowds coming out?
- 11:44Speaker 4: What's that like?
- 11:46Speaker 6: Oh? Yeah, at least whenever I fight, we bring a
- 11:49Speaker 6: big crowd.
- 11:50Speaker 5: Got a lot of friends, a lot of family, and
- 11:52Speaker 5: a lot of people who just support and show love there.
- 11:55Speaker 5: So I want to give us a big shout out
- 11:57Speaker 5: to them every time. If you ever seen me at
- 11:59Speaker 5: Celebrity Theater, you know, you know that place is going
- 12:01Speaker 5: to be packed.
- 12:02Speaker 6: And every recently having fun, having a good time.
- 12:04Speaker 5: There's a lot of other good up and coming fighters
- 12:06Speaker 5: out of out of Arizona too, so keep an eye
- 12:08Speaker 5: out for them. And we always like to support our
- 12:10Speaker 5: local scene, our local uh local community with.
- 12:13Speaker 3: Fighters, not just in Phoenix, but in all of Arizona.
- 12:16Speaker 5: I think we should, you know, carry each other up
- 12:18Speaker 5: and put our names out there and then help each other.
- 12:21Speaker 3: So I'm a big advocator.
- 12:23Speaker 5: In that, and I think we got a lot of
- 12:26Speaker 5: potential in Arizona right now and good things.
- 12:28Speaker 6: Are coming our way.
- 12:30Speaker 4: That's bad ass, That's absolutely bad ass. How often do
- 12:32Speaker 4: you fight a couple times a year? Or what's what's
- 12:35Speaker 4: where you at you right now?
- 12:36Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 12:37Speaker 6: Usually usually at least three times a year?
- 12:38Speaker 5: Is I try to stay stay consistent, stay really consistent.
- 12:42Speaker 5: My last fight was not even two months ago. I'm
- 12:46Speaker 5: already you know, getting ready for this next one. So
- 12:48Speaker 5: after my last fight, it was a short fight, so
- 12:51Speaker 5: I didn't really have to take too much recovery time.
- 12:53Speaker 5: It was stopped in the third round, and then so
- 12:58Speaker 5: I had I fought on Saturday, I had Sunday off,
- 13:01Speaker 5: Monday off.
- 13:01Speaker 4: And then we're right back in the gym on Tuesday,
- 13:05Speaker 4: right right back at the gym, bro no rest. I
- 13:07Speaker 4: appreciate that the so I did like after the ROWNA,
- 13:11Speaker 4: I turned into a big fat piece of crap. Let's
- 13:13Speaker 4: be honest. I got into boxing, got super into it,
- 13:15Speaker 4: taking lesson. I was doing like six days a week
- 13:17Speaker 4: at my peak. It wasn't like all the time, but
- 13:19Speaker 4: at my peak, I was doing like six days a week,
- 13:21Speaker 4: two two and a half hours in the gym. Because
- 13:23Speaker 4: I loved it. I took some time away to go
- 13:26Speaker 4: back to my roots and focus on getting fat again,
- 13:28Speaker 4: you know, kind of reconnect with the old me. But
- 13:30Speaker 4: but it's something I definitely want to get back to.
- 13:32Speaker 4: But it is a wild life. Like is there so
- 13:34Speaker 4: you started this, like you said when you were when
- 13:36Speaker 4: you were a kid, you know, was there ever a
- 13:38Speaker 4: period where you were like, okay, I still need like
- 13:40Speaker 4: a job and also boxing or like were you all in?
- 13:44Speaker 4: Was it all boxing all the time ever since you
- 13:46Speaker 4: were a teenager? What is that like? Because it's it's
- 13:48Speaker 4: a long it's a long day of if you know,
- 13:50Speaker 4: just training.
- 13:51Speaker 5: Yeah, I know, I've been all in since I was
- 13:53Speaker 5: a kid. But i mean, yeah, obviously you need money.
- 13:55Speaker 5: Sometimes you need a support. I'm luckily to have started.
- 14:00Speaker 5: You know, my professional career started getting paid for it
- 14:03Speaker 5: early on, when I was eighteen nineteen. I became a pro,
- 14:07Speaker 5: so not always boxing always kind of paid a little
- 14:11Speaker 5: bit for my, uh my expenses that I needed, and
- 14:15Speaker 5: you know, in between, I would do you know, things
- 14:17Speaker 5: like Uber Eats deliveries and door dash and stuff. Every
- 14:20Speaker 5: now and then I'll still hop in because I just
- 14:21Speaker 5: find it relaxing sometimes. But okay, I would do that,
- 14:25Speaker 5: you know, just.
- 14:26Speaker 6: To find your extra money to make some bills or something,
- 14:28Speaker 6: you know.
- 14:29Speaker 3: But for the for the most.
- 14:30Speaker 5: Part, I've just been locked in on boxing. And then
- 14:32Speaker 5: now I'm fortunate enough to do it, you know, one
- 14:34Speaker 5: hundred percent. And uh boxing you know, takes cares for everything.
- 14:38Speaker 5: All my sponsors shout out to them. They take care
- 14:42Speaker 5: of for I have great training camps. You know, I
- 14:43Speaker 5: don't have to worry about anything. So I'm very fortunate.
- 14:47Speaker 3: Gotcha, gotcha?
- 14:48Speaker 4: Now that's awesome. So the thing about you know, like
- 14:53Speaker 4: I said, if you're you were into boxing, you know,
- 14:56Speaker 4: all in when you were a kid. But what if
- 14:59Speaker 4: somebody is like, I'm twenty five, you know, and I said,
- 15:02Speaker 4: it is getting into it? Not me again, because I'm old.
- 15:04Speaker 4: I'm talking about somebody that's younger gets into it, really
- 15:06Speaker 4: likes it. Is it a thing that is it even possible?
- 15:09Speaker 4: Like do they Is it like a I'm not gonna say,
- 15:12Speaker 4: don't chase your dream, but you know, in your opinion,
- 15:14Speaker 4: and what is it like for somebody that's kind of older,
- 15:16Speaker 4: because boxing, you know, you'll get twenty nine, you're basically
- 15:19Speaker 4: a senior citizen. What's your take on somebody's ability to
- 15:22Speaker 4: become pro? Maybe not a superstar, maybe not you selling
- 15:24Speaker 4: out you know, arenas or anything like that, but to
- 15:26Speaker 4: be legitimately in the ring.
- 15:29Speaker 5: When I started, I started at fourteen, I felt like
- 15:31Speaker 5: I was starting. My dad always told me there's these
- 15:34Speaker 5: kids who started boxing since I was six years old.
- 15:36Speaker 5: They be't doing it really amateurs. So since they was
- 15:38Speaker 5: six eight years old, I just had to work that
- 15:40Speaker 5: much harder to catch ups than you told me. And
- 15:43Speaker 5: even before I turned pro, I put in that work.
- 15:45Speaker 5: I worked my ass off, and I felt like I
- 15:48Speaker 5: did catch up and surpassed them, and my careers just
- 15:52Speaker 5: kept going forward from that. I haven't slowed down yet,
- 15:54Speaker 5: So I feel great and I don't think anything's impossible.
- 16:00Speaker 5: So for anybody who still get into it, it's gonna
- 16:02Speaker 5: be harder, harder than I had it, harder than anybody's
- 16:05Speaker 5: had it. If you're starting, you know, at twenty five,
- 16:07Speaker 5: twenty six or whatever, that's my age. Now, you're gonna
- 16:09Speaker 5: have a lot of catching up to do. I'm like, lead,
- 16:11Speaker 5: you got to ship it to me that easy. But
- 16:15Speaker 5: I do believe you could do it. You know, You're
- 16:16Speaker 5: just gonna have to be patient, though. You're gonna have
- 16:18Speaker 5: to dedicate a lot, a lot of time, a lot
- 16:20Speaker 5: of energy, and pretty much your whole life to it.
- 16:22Speaker 4: If you want to jump into the state awesome, awesome Jameson,
- 16:25Speaker 4: please you know, don't, yeah take over? No, I got you,
- 16:28Speaker 4: I got you.
- 16:29Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 16:29Speaker 2: You gotta catch your breath. As a wader that's in it,
- 16:33Speaker 2: you know, always training, always ready. Is there a like
- 16:38Speaker 2: a plan for the future or do you take things
- 16:40Speaker 2: like fight by fight? So do you have like a
- 16:42Speaker 2: plan like saying, hey, next week fights are doing this
- 16:45Speaker 2: this and that and this is the goal or are
- 16:47Speaker 2: you more focused on each fight as it comes.
- 16:50Speaker 5: Each fight as they come. You know, the the toughest
- 16:53Speaker 5: opponent is opponent that's right in front of you. So
- 16:56Speaker 5: I'm gonna take my opponents one by one and uh
- 16:59Speaker 5: where about.
- 16:59Speaker 3: What comes comes after that.
- 17:00Speaker 6: But we're always stay ready like I said, and we
- 17:02Speaker 6: stay ready for that.
- 17:03Speaker 3: Phone call for whatever.
- 17:04Speaker 5: You know, if somebody drops out of one of those
- 17:06Speaker 5: world title fights, We're gonna be ready to step up
- 17:08Speaker 5: at all times.
- 17:09Speaker 6: So I'm just looking forward to it for opportunities like that.
- 17:13Speaker 2: Is there a place that you want to fight out,
- 17:16Speaker 2: like a city or location that you want to fight
- 17:18Speaker 2: out that you haven't yet.
- 17:22Speaker 5: Well, all my fights have been in my hometown right now,
- 17:24Speaker 5: and it would be really cool ideally to bring a
- 17:27Speaker 5: world title to Phoenix, to my hometown.
- 17:31Speaker 6: So if I could fight for that over here.
- 17:32Speaker 5: You know, we're working on bringing these these big crowds
- 17:35Speaker 5: to the local shows, and I just want to keep
- 17:39Speaker 5: bringing these big crowds and showing up and showing people
- 17:42Speaker 5: that we can bring a big title over here.
- 17:44Speaker 6: And I want to represent from my city.
- 17:47Speaker 2: Well, I live in Vegas, so I'm right next door.
- 17:50Speaker 2: I would love to see you here. However, I don't
- 17:52Speaker 2: mind going out there. It's an hour fight, four hour drives,
- 17:56Speaker 2: so whatever works, let me know, we'll make it work.
- 17:59Speaker 6: But the Vegas is right here. It's like my second home.
- 18:02Speaker 5: We're over there all the time for sparring and stuff
- 18:04Speaker 5: like that, So I would in mind vegasy there.
- 18:05Speaker 6: I like that place.
- 18:07Speaker 2: Now, question, how do you stay focused out here? Because
- 18:09Speaker 2: I've been here twenty something years and I've seen a
- 18:11Speaker 2: lot of boxes come here and they're not focused on
- 18:16Speaker 2: Oh there's a reason I don't. I don't live in Vegas.
- 18:19Speaker 2: Let me say that right now.
- 18:19Speaker 4: My name is the classic alcoholic. Let's make that clear.
- 18:21Speaker 4: But go ahead.
- 18:24Speaker 2: Here and they can't stay out the casinos and the clubs. However,
- 18:28Speaker 2: when you come here and work out, how do you
- 18:29Speaker 2: stay focused?
- 18:31Speaker 6: Well, my dad's my coach. So if I'm coming here,
- 18:33Speaker 6: I'm coming with my dad.
- 18:34Speaker 3: He's gonna be with me.
- 18:35Speaker 5: He's and have his eyes on me on all times,
- 18:37Speaker 5: and he's not let me do none of that. But also,
- 18:39Speaker 5: I've never been really really big into drinking in the
- 18:41Speaker 5: party and stuff. I like to just chill in my
- 18:43Speaker 5: room and play video games.
- 18:44Speaker 6: At the end of the day, and that's okay.
- 18:46Speaker 5: That's what I'm gonna do if I'm in Vegas. That's
- 18:48Speaker 5: what I'm doing when I'm at home. That's why I got,
- 18:50Speaker 5: you know, a nice mic, a nice little setup over
- 18:52Speaker 5: Here's that's what I do. So I don't I don't
- 18:56Speaker 5: like to pretend I'm somebody I'm not. I don't want
- 18:58Speaker 5: to go over there and try to be at the
- 19:00Speaker 5: club all crazy. I'm just focused on what I need
- 19:04Speaker 5: to and I got all this support, all these people
- 19:07Speaker 5: on my back, So why would I, you know.
- 19:08Speaker 6: Mess that up for fun night in Vegas or two.
- 19:11Speaker 2: You know, you'd be surprised. Man, everyone comes in with
- 19:14Speaker 2: that mindset. It takes a really strong individual to keep that.
- 19:17Speaker 2: Now you've got a good circle around you, so it
- 19:20Speaker 2: seems like everybody knows they roll, and everybody's in this
- 19:22Speaker 2: for the right thing. So I think you're gonna be
- 19:24Speaker 2: all right. But a lot of people, man, you'd be surprised.
- 19:26Speaker 2: A lot of people come out here with you know, saying, oh,
- 19:29Speaker 2: I'm just here to work, and they can't stay focused.
- 19:31Speaker 2: But it is very good that you do come here
- 19:33Speaker 2: and get your work in. Like I said, if you're
- 19:34Speaker 2: not in the clubs, you're not in the scene. You're
- 19:36Speaker 2: gonna be all right cause a lot of boxers are
- 19:38Speaker 2: out here. Not everybody's able to stay here. Some people
- 19:40Speaker 2: gotta go back home.
- 19:41Speaker 3: So it is.
- 19:44Speaker 4: Somebody get eighty six from Vegas, I guess.
- 19:46Speaker 2: Right, not not even you know what, Sometimes the powers
- 19:49Speaker 2: that be got to take them out because they're spending
- 19:51Speaker 2: to bunch of money and wasting time. Like you're here
- 19:54Speaker 2: for work. You're not here for partying, Like this is
- 19:56Speaker 2: all work related activities. You're here to stay in shape.
- 20:00Speaker 2: Like you mentioned the spar workout, strategize. It's a business trip,
- 20:04Speaker 2: and a lot of times guys just do not understand that.
- 20:07Speaker 2: So it is good, is refreshing here, someone actually come
- 20:10Speaker 2: here and taking care of business.
- 20:12Speaker 5: That's exactly what I tell everybody when I tell it, Yeah,
- 20:14Speaker 5: I'm gonna be Vegas for a week. I can't do
- 20:15Speaker 5: this or whatever. You're like, oh, that sounds fun. I'm like, no,
- 20:18Speaker 5: this business trip, guys, it's a word trip stall work.
- 20:20Speaker 3: We're not We're not. I'm not having fun. I always
- 20:24Speaker 3: see it.
- 20:26Speaker 6: Oh, just meal preps, small meal preps, saw portions.
- 20:29Speaker 5: And you know, just just staying on it, trying to
- 20:33Speaker 5: maintain a balanced diet and uh eating enough, you know,
- 20:37Speaker 5: making sure you keep your away good.
- 20:38Speaker 4: Okay, so I guess some more boxing questions, of course,
- 20:44Speaker 4: but uh you mentioned something that I want to take
- 20:46Speaker 4: them to a bit of different direction. Stay at home,
- 20:47Speaker 4: play video games. You know, I want to know about
- 20:49Speaker 4: where your life is outside of the ring. You know,
- 20:51Speaker 4: what what are you playing?
- 20:52Speaker 6: Like?
- 20:52Speaker 4: For you A PS five guy, Xbox guy? What are
- 20:53Speaker 4: you at? What do you like?
- 20:55Speaker 6: I have PS five, I played PC. I've mentioned the
- 20:57Speaker 6: old games too.
- 20:58Speaker 3: I play just a little bit of everything. I'm I'm
- 21:01Speaker 3: a big gamer since.
- 21:02Speaker 5: I was little, so I always I always try to
- 21:04Speaker 5: play a little bit of everything nowadays cause I don't
- 21:06Speaker 5: want to lose that lose that title. You know that
- 21:09Speaker 5: I'm a big gamer, so I gotta stick to it.
- 21:12Speaker 5: And I like card games too. I'll go to the
- 21:14Speaker 5: card shops sometimes, play some card games friends or have
- 21:18Speaker 5: a good time. Like like I said, I stay out
- 21:20Speaker 5: of the drinking at the partying when I'm in especially
- 21:23Speaker 5: when I'm in training camp double down, and I just
- 21:27Speaker 5: I just use training camps as a way to you know,
- 21:30Speaker 5: I got all this time to play video games now
- 21:31Speaker 5: when I'm not training.
- 21:33Speaker 4: So, speaking of that, do you play like are you
- 21:36Speaker 4: the kind of places like Call of Duty online or
- 21:37Speaker 4: do you like, you know, games that are not online
- 21:41Speaker 4: like the Script I like the script story, I like
- 21:43Speaker 4: the campaign.
- 21:43Speaker 5: Yeah, me too, I like I like single player focused games.
- 21:47Speaker 5: So every now and then I'll hop on online game
- 21:48Speaker 5: with my friends. But I'm a big single player like
- 21:50Speaker 5: RPGs and stuff.
- 21:52Speaker 4: Nice. What's it? What's your franchise? Are you a Fallout guy?
- 21:54Speaker 4: I love Fallout?
- 21:55Speaker 3: Oh, Fallout's good.
- 21:57Speaker 5: I never got too into Fault yet yet, I say,
- 22:00Speaker 5: because I plan on getting.
- 22:01Speaker 6: Into it eventually. I know it's one of the one
- 22:03Speaker 6: of the greatest, you know, franchises.
- 22:05Speaker 4: Part Part three I think is a good one to
- 22:07Speaker 4: get into because it's good that one is for p
- 22:10Speaker 4: S three, I think, Yeah, but if you go back
- 22:13Speaker 4: to that one, that's one of my favorite stories. But yeah,
- 22:16Speaker 4: so then what are other friends that you're into?
- 22:18Speaker 6: What are just like a persona Final Fantasy?
- 22:21Speaker 5: A lot of the Japanese ones I really like, uh,
- 22:26Speaker 5: Eldin Ring obviously can't go wrong with the Souls games.
- 22:32Speaker 4: I want to. I want to.
- 22:33Speaker 3: Those are very hard.
- 22:34Speaker 5: It was very hard, just a little bit every like,
- 22:37Speaker 5: like I said, any I try to get any new
- 22:40Speaker 5: new new releases coming out and stuff, or I get
- 22:42Speaker 5: really big into.
- 22:44Speaker 4: I'm like a casual gamer. Like I'll get super into
- 22:47Speaker 4: a game for like a few months and then I
- 22:48Speaker 4: won't touch my system for like honestly sometimes a year.
- 22:51Speaker 4: I use it mostly play four K movies, That's what
- 22:53Speaker 4: I use.
- 22:55Speaker 6: But play.
- 22:57Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm a guy who like I love boxing, you know,
- 23:00Speaker 4: my favorite sports, the only sport I really care about.
- 23:01Speaker 4: But well, ronn it. I can talk me to Gains,
- 23:03Speaker 4: I can talk Star Wars and I hear you're into
- 23:05Speaker 4: you said, Cargoons, You're into Magic the Gathering.
- 23:07Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, big, big into Magic the Gathering. I go to.
- 23:10Speaker 5: There's a card shop, like not even a light light
- 23:13Speaker 5: down the street from me. So like I'm there Mondays
- 23:16Speaker 5: and thursdays of their Magic Night Saga head over there
- 23:19Speaker 5: and play Guard games over there with So made a
- 23:21Speaker 5: bunch of friends over there.
- 23:22Speaker 6: It's cool.
- 23:23Speaker 5: They actually went to my last fight too, a lot
- 23:25Speaker 5: of the guys from the shop. So they had a
- 23:27Speaker 5: good time over there too.
- 23:28Speaker 3: It was a good time. They're good friends.
- 23:30Speaker 4: Now nice, Okay, Now I gotta know, So, what's that like,
- 23:33Speaker 4: because you know, I'm a nerd to like I said,
- 23:34Speaker 4: I I do. I do this podcast and then I'm
- 23:37Speaker 4: a host on our guest rather on my friends Star
- 23:40Speaker 4: Wars podcast from time to time. So what's it like
- 23:44Speaker 4: for your magic gathering friends to show up to boxing?
- 23:46Speaker 4: Are they like? Is it cool? And they kind to
- 23:48Speaker 4: feel out of place? You know what?
- 23:51Speaker 5: They loved it because obviously it is different. They are
- 23:53Speaker 5: a little out of place, but that's what makes it
- 23:55Speaker 5: so exciting too, I feel like and yeah, they had
- 23:58Speaker 5: a great time. They showed up to the after party too.
- 24:00Speaker 5: They're excited to talk to me about it, and you
- 24:03Speaker 5: know they had a good time.
- 24:05Speaker 6: There's there's a good good amount of them too, so
- 24:06Speaker 6: they're all having fun together.
- 24:08Speaker 4: Do you want to give a shout out to the
- 24:09Speaker 4: car shop here? You know support the is a local business.
- 24:12Speaker 3: Yeah, shout outs to Northern Valley Games. I've been in there.
- 24:16Speaker 5: You know, that's where I first got my first magic
- 24:18Speaker 5: deck from. And they've they've been, you know, help me
- 24:21Speaker 5: out the whole trip when I was learning magic.
- 24:23Speaker 4: North Valley Games. Is that in in Phoenix or there's
- 24:27Speaker 4: a location.
- 24:27Speaker 6: In Phoenix and there's a there's a location of me, so.
- 24:31Speaker 4: Games, I'll check them out. I go to Phoenix pretty
- 24:33Speaker 4: pretty often. That was there a couple of weekends ago
- 24:34Speaker 4: for a concert, So I'll definitely check them out and
- 24:36Speaker 4: we'll see, yeah, pick up some stuff. So uh bringing
- 24:39Speaker 4: it back to boxing and James, and you got something
- 24:41Speaker 4: because I got something here for you.
- 24:43Speaker 2: So I do. I want to For the fans that
- 24:46Speaker 2: don't know, they just tune on the TV and so
- 24:49Speaker 2: you walk out the ring, handle business and go home.
- 24:52Speaker 2: But can you give us behind the scenes of a
- 24:54Speaker 2: fight day, day of a fight, waking up to getting
- 24:58Speaker 2: to the arena, can you give us an in depth
- 25:01Speaker 2: detail of that whole day?
- 25:04Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure.
- 25:06Speaker 5: I usually wake up in the mornings, my dad will
- 25:09Speaker 5: go to first watch, get a good breakfast. I like
- 25:12Speaker 5: a big breakfast before my fight, durd of the day
- 25:15Speaker 5: of my fight. Like a big breakfast but healthy, easily digestible.
- 25:20Speaker 5: I'll have like a Greek yogurt with a bunch of
- 25:23Speaker 5: like granola fruits and stuff. And then I'll have a
- 25:27Speaker 5: oatmeal too with that decent size too, all of that
- 25:32Speaker 5: and then they'll get me nice and.
- 25:35Speaker 6: Full and then I just eat light the rest of
- 25:38Speaker 6: the day until the fight.
- 25:38Speaker 3: Pretty much.
- 25:39Speaker 5: But yeah, we'll go to have a big breakfast over there,
- 25:42Speaker 5: and I come back home, I take a nap, I
- 25:45Speaker 5: sleep relax, you know. I try to sleep and take
- 25:48Speaker 5: a long as long as of a nap as possible.
- 25:50Speaker 3: Before the fight.
- 25:51Speaker 5: We usually show up to the venue at like four
- 25:55Speaker 5: or five. We get there, we get checked up by
- 25:58Speaker 5: the doctor in the back, all that fun stuff, and
- 26:02Speaker 5: then I'm just chilling in the dressing room until the fight.
- 26:05Speaker 3: Really, it's really just a relaxed day and nothing crazy.
- 26:07Speaker 6: Apps. Try to stay focused, try to see opt in.
- 26:12Speaker 3: Awesome. Yeah.
- 26:13Speaker 4: I when I was doing my peak training, I was like, wait,
- 26:16Speaker 4: weighing food, like had a little weight scale and everything that.
- 26:19Speaker 4: I was like, it's wild. I've never done anything like that.
- 26:22Speaker 4: It was kind of it was kind of an experiment,
- 26:23Speaker 4: but to see like how hardcore I could get into it. Uh,
- 26:26Speaker 4: Like I said, I fluctuated, you know, the the like
- 26:29Speaker 4: the Facebook meme, the thing that the grand piece put
- 26:33Speaker 4: up there. It's like nothing tastes as good as skinny feels. Okay, Yeah,
- 26:36Speaker 4: no one thing, bro like that. I agree, no one thing.
- 26:40Speaker 4: But there's a lot of shit that you could eat
- 26:41Speaker 4: a lot.
- 26:42Speaker 6: Yeah, I have a big sweet tooth.
- 26:44Speaker 5: So dieting is one of the hardest things for me
- 26:47Speaker 5: because I just I love chocolate.
- 26:49Speaker 4: Okay, do you have a cheat day? Is that depends.
- 26:53Speaker 5: Depends you know, it depends on my on my weight
- 26:55Speaker 5: at the time. You know, I just feel it out
- 26:57Speaker 5: for how I feel like if if I'm not, if
- 26:59Speaker 5: i'm I don't have room for a cheat little snack
- 27:02Speaker 5: or something, I won't I won't take it. But if
- 27:03Speaker 5: you know, if I'm doing good on weight this week
- 27:05Speaker 5: or whatever, I'll have like a little chocolate bar or
- 27:08Speaker 5: cookie or something nice.
- 27:10Speaker 3: Nice.
- 27:12Speaker 4: Great, So probably my last one. But Jameson please jump
- 27:16Speaker 4: in so curious you said you don't really think about
- 27:18Speaker 4: the future. It's you know, one fight at a time.
- 27:20Speaker 4: I mean, I'm not probably I'm gonna assume that you
- 27:23Speaker 4: always think about wanting to be a champ, Like you said,
- 27:25Speaker 4: you know, want to bring about But if there was
- 27:28Speaker 4: a call for somebody to cancel the call, is there
- 27:30Speaker 4: one name that you're like, I want to take that guy,
- 27:32Speaker 4: that guy I want to I want to if I
- 27:34Speaker 4: think and I could bring him down. Do you have
- 27:36Speaker 4: a name?
- 27:36Speaker 5: There's no one name, but I will right now if
- 27:40Speaker 5: you give me that call anybody at a one hundred
- 27:42Speaker 5: and forty pound way class, we're taking that fight, anyone
- 27:45Speaker 5: taking that fight, anybody, anybody.
- 27:46Speaker 4: I appreciate that, you know. It's something so Jamis and
- 27:49Speaker 4: I here on this show, we we critique the boxing
- 27:51Speaker 4: industry and the scene a lot, but it's because we
- 27:53Speaker 4: love it. It's because we we love the sport and
- 27:56Speaker 4: want it to be better. One common complaint I think
- 27:58Speaker 4: this comes up is that the big h aren't fighting
- 28:00Speaker 4: often enough. So I we really appreciate you saying you
- 28:03Speaker 4: fight three times a year. The biggest names, you know,
- 28:05Speaker 4: they should be fighting more than once a year. Some
- 28:07Speaker 4: guys don't even do that. So but what also, but
- 28:11Speaker 4: here's the thing. You take a big name, you bring
- 28:13Speaker 4: a bill back, are you gonna chill? Are you gonna
- 28:14Speaker 4: be like all right, you know I can wait another
- 28:16Speaker 4: year or two for a fight, or are you gonna
- 28:18Speaker 4: you feel like you're gonna stick to that schedule? Like
- 28:21Speaker 4: I still want more, I'm still hungry. I'm gonna go
- 28:23Speaker 4: out and get it.
- 28:24Speaker 5: I feel like at least owe it to my supporters
- 28:27Speaker 5: and my fans to bring at least one or two
- 28:28Speaker 5: fights a year, even after I havingable.
- 28:30Speaker 6: Title okay, okay, I'm shooting for two fights a year. Still.
- 28:36Speaker 4: I love that you said if I get a work
- 28:37Speaker 4: world You didn't say if I get a world title.
- 28:39Speaker 4: You said even after I get a world title. So
- 28:41Speaker 4: I appreciate that.
- 28:41Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, no.
- 28:43Speaker 4: And that's that's awesome, Jims. You got anything else here?
- 28:46Speaker 2: For a man? I got one last one dream opponent past,
- 28:54Speaker 2: future present. Is there that one opponent where you either
- 28:58Speaker 2: wish you could have fought from yes for a year,
- 29:00Speaker 2: or wish you could fight going forward that you've always
- 29:04Speaker 2: dreamt about or always thought about just in general.
- 29:09Speaker 3: Hmmm, let's see one forty.
- 29:17Speaker 5: I mean, I think Marquez would be just good to
- 29:21Speaker 5: learn off of for me my style. But I feel
- 29:26Speaker 5: like you just can't go wrong with with Mayweather. I mean,
- 29:29Speaker 5: it will be a frustrating fight. I hate fighting them,
- 29:31Speaker 5: but you'll learn so much off that fight that you
- 29:34Speaker 5: know it'll just improve me by you know, so much.
- 29:37Speaker 3: So I feel like I would I would love to fight.
- 29:38Speaker 4: Mayweather iron iron sharp AND's iron. Yeah, okay, just to
- 29:44Speaker 4: quick fall up on that. So you said a frustrating fight,
- 29:46Speaker 4: you learned a lot, but do you think you could
- 29:48Speaker 4: beat them in your prime? And you know, it's prime.
- 29:52Speaker 3: My prime, may other's prime all to see.
- 29:57Speaker 5: I like I said, I think I could beat anybody
- 29:59Speaker 5: right now, but uh, he's one. He's one of the legends,
- 30:02Speaker 5: one of the greatest of all time. And you know
- 30:03Speaker 5: everybody who said, you know, they've had that that they
- 30:06Speaker 5: oh I got I got an answer for him.
- 30:07Speaker 3: I got him. They never came out on top.
- 30:09Speaker 4: So well, you know, one thing I always say, not
- 30:13Speaker 4: just in boxing, but in life, is that we learn
- 30:15Speaker 4: more from our losses than we do from our wins.
- 30:17Speaker 4: So you know, I think, can't be can't be afraid
- 30:20Speaker 4: to lose no matter what.
- 30:21Speaker 5: You know.
- 30:21Speaker 4: I love that you said earlier, even inspiring, even you
- 30:24Speaker 4: you know, seasoned train still get your ass kicked right
- 30:27Speaker 4: from time to time, Like, hey, it happens. So but
- 30:31Speaker 4: here's the thing about boxing that I love. Boxers not
- 30:33Speaker 4: just have to be strong, but they'd be brave and
- 30:35Speaker 4: they can't be scared of of a loss, right, what
- 30:38Speaker 4: do you think?
- 30:38Speaker 3: Yep?
- 30:39Speaker 5: Definitely that's the only way you learn taking risks, and
- 30:44Speaker 5: if you can, you know, come out on top on
- 30:45Speaker 5: all those risks that you're taking, you're just gonna get
- 30:47Speaker 5: so much better off of it.
- 30:49Speaker 4: Awesome, awesome, Well, treating won't take up more of your
- 30:52Speaker 4: time because I know you've got to train or also
- 30:54Speaker 4: get back on the on the PS five. But please
- 30:56Speaker 4: tell the people when your next fight is and uh
- 30:59Speaker 4: we're when and where it's gonna be.
- 31:01Speaker 5: April nineteenth at the Celebrity Theater under the Iron Boy Card.
- 31:06Speaker 5: I'm excited to fight, can't wait to see there.
- 31:08Speaker 4: Hell yeah? And where can people find you on social media?
- 31:10Speaker 4: Do you have Instagram? Twitter?
- 31:11Speaker 3: Like?
- 31:11Speaker 4: What's your Yeah?
- 31:12Speaker 6: You find me on Instagram at trainy eight to a
- 31:17Speaker 6: spinsram training eight a as in training.
- 31:20Speaker 3: Oh, Chue, I appreciate it.
- 31:22Speaker 4: Yeah great, all right, follow training, get tickets to the
- 31:25Speaker 4: Celebrity Theater. Oh yes.
- 31:28Speaker 2: Any sponsors that you want to shout out or anyone
- 31:30Speaker 2: you want to shut out before you head on out.
- 31:32Speaker 3: It's all my sponsors.
- 31:34Speaker 5: They're always, you know, showing up, especially Franco, my dad's friend.
- 31:39Speaker 5: You know, he's one of our biggest sponsors. I'm gonna
- 31:43Speaker 5: shout him out by name though this time because he's.
- 31:45Speaker 3: Been happening out a lot.
- 31:46Speaker 5: I appreciate him and then everything he does for us.
- 31:50Speaker 4: Hell yeah, Franco, thank you for helping out with Training's
- 31:53Speaker 4: career because he brought us to this show and we
- 31:56Speaker 4: really appreciate it. Thank you for being on the Mixed
- 31:58Speaker 4: Company Podcast, Treating. We are appreciate you. You have no idea
- 32:01Speaker 4: and we'd love to have you back and talk about
- 32:03Speaker 4: how the fights went after the fact. If that's cool
- 32:05Speaker 4: with you, Yeah, for sure.
- 32:06Speaker 3: I'm always done.
- 32:07Speaker 4: Absolutely. Good luck, good luck, good luck to Treating, good
- 32:12Speaker 4: luck to Treaty. And I'm gonna finish up really quick
- 32:14Speaker 4: here in the Mixed Company Podcast. Jamis the man. That
- 32:17Speaker 4: was a great interview. Did you like that? That was amazing?
- 32:20Speaker 4: I was mad.
- 32:20Speaker 2: I did not wake up thinking we were gonna have
- 32:23Speaker 2: that interview. I was prepared for anything.
- 32:25Speaker 4: You know.
- 32:25Speaker 2: It's funny how these things do happen, but I'm glad
- 32:28Speaker 2: it did happen. It's very good to find a young
- 32:31Speaker 2: fighter that's focused. We always come across a lot of
- 32:35Speaker 2: guys that are on BS. I said, I'm not here
- 32:38Speaker 2: for twenty years, so I've seen and heard all kinds
- 32:40Speaker 2: of different stories about all the different type of people. I've heard
- 32:43Speaker 2: stories about Browner, her stories about Sean Porter, which are
- 32:46Speaker 2: like opposite, you know what I mean. So you you
- 32:49Speaker 2: hear you know, you hear and see a lot of
- 32:51Speaker 2: different things, and not.
- 32:53Speaker 4: Everybody comes out here focused like I've seen. You're right
- 32:56Speaker 4: out here. You know, people get a.
- 32:57Speaker 2: House out here, they train out here, but they can't
- 32:59Speaker 2: stay out casino or there. Camp, can't stay out in trouble.
- 33:03Speaker 2: So it's good to see like Pop's got things straight,
- 33:07Speaker 2: you know, boxing that stuff straight. No friction in the camp,
- 33:10Speaker 2: No no random stories about women I crazy going on.
- 33:14Speaker 2: It's good to see like, all right, the main thing
- 33:17Speaker 2: is the main thing, and we don't have that a
- 33:19Speaker 2: whole lot anymore.
- 33:21Speaker 4: Now. I really appreciate that question from me. I guess
- 33:23Speaker 4: it's something I never really considered that. You know. Yeah,
- 33:25Speaker 4: for me, Vegas is like a giant playground. But I
- 33:29Speaker 4: don't know, I guess in my mind kind of like
- 33:31Speaker 4: you said, you know, think of it like this. Think
- 33:34Speaker 4: about it.
- 33:34Speaker 2: If you had millions of dollars in your account, you
- 33:37Speaker 2: can do whatever you always.
- 33:38Speaker 4: Wanted to do.
- 33:39Speaker 2: There's no one that can really stop you, and you
- 33:43Speaker 2: can get whatever you want at any time. And this
- 33:47Speaker 2: is Vegas, so there's no limits on whatever you want.
- 33:50Speaker 2: If you want a five star dinner at two am.
- 33:54Speaker 4: It gets done.
- 33:55Speaker 2: If you want three women that look a certain way,
- 33:58Speaker 2: it gets found. If you want drugs, it gets found.
- 34:01Speaker 2: If you want liquor, it gets brought to you. So
- 34:04Speaker 2: whatever your heart desires, it gets brought to you.
- 34:09Speaker 4: That's yeah. No, I mean you're absolutely right, And I
- 34:12Speaker 4: am aware of that in concept, in theory of course,
- 34:14Speaker 4: because I don't I wouldn't be able to roll like that.
- 34:17Speaker 4: But yeah, I guess in my mind, I'm like, well, yeah,
- 34:19Speaker 4: if you're in Vegas, if you're a big, big name fighter,
- 34:21Speaker 4: you're gonna be on pay per view, HBO whatever, like
- 34:24Speaker 4: you know, you're there to do the thing and you're
- 34:25Speaker 4: not gonna let yourself get sidetracked. But that's not true.
- 34:28Speaker 4: That's actually it's human nature to you know, to just
- 34:32Speaker 4: like I said, anything you want, anytime. How it's so
- 34:35Speaker 4: how can you say no to that? But I think
- 34:37Speaker 4: Treey's got a good head on his shoulders. You know,
- 34:39Speaker 4: family is involved, and like you said, you know, for him,
- 34:43Speaker 4: especially if he fucked this up, you know, he's right
- 34:45Speaker 4: back where he was broke, you know, not having trouble
- 34:50Speaker 4: finding housing, all that stuff, And I'm sure he doesn't
- 34:51Speaker 4: want to go back to that, So.
- 34:53Speaker 2: He ain't going back to the way he sound, and he
- 34:55Speaker 2: ain't going back to that, so he gonna be all right.
- 34:58Speaker 4: Yeah, No, it's really cool getting not just a profighter,
- 35:01Speaker 4: a profighter from Arizona. You know I'm representing here.
- 35:04Speaker 2: Arizona is the face of Phoenix box Ship, the face
- 35:07Speaker 2: of Arizona Boxing, which.
- 35:09Speaker 4: Absolutely, you know that that was really cool and you know,
- 35:14Speaker 4: thank him. I'd like to thank him. I think his promoter,
- 35:16Speaker 4: Emily Gurdin, for setting that up for us. And yeah,
- 35:19Speaker 4: and the other fighters that want to come on the show.
- 35:20Speaker 4: We're not going to come at you like, hey, well
- 35:23Speaker 4: you fucking you know you should be doing this, you
- 35:25Speaker 4: should be doing this, blah blah blah. No, no, no,
- 35:26Speaker 4: we're here to learn from y'all, and we want the
- 35:28Speaker 4: audience to learn from y'all as well.
- 35:30Speaker 2: Yeah, we want to promote the good part of boxing.
- 35:33Speaker 2: The other stuff I don't care about. I don't care
- 35:36Speaker 2: about any of the stuff that gets clicks. I want
- 35:38Speaker 2: to promote the good stuff, the stuff that boxing fans
- 35:40Speaker 2: double upon and be like, I want to learn more
- 35:42Speaker 2: about this person. That's what we want to create here.
- 35:45Speaker 2: We're not trying to create anything pieces or any clickbased stuff.
- 35:48Speaker 4: We want people to do a deep.
- 35:49Speaker 2: Dive on everyone that we interview, everyone that we come across,
- 35:54Speaker 2: and that's what we're up.
- 35:55Speaker 4: That's what we're trying to do here. Absolutely so cool. Well,
- 36:00Speaker 4: I think that's a pretty good for today's episode. Jamison,
- 36:03Speaker 4: Where can people find you on social media? At the
- 36:06Speaker 4: Jamison on Twitter? That's probably the best place.
- 36:09Speaker 2: I don't really do Instagram when it comes to people,
- 36:12Speaker 2: but on Twitter probably the best place.
- 36:14Speaker 4: But nah, I'll be watching fights.
- 36:15Speaker 2: Man, got ESPN Plus, got Paramount Plus, got Netflix, Amazon,
- 36:21Speaker 2: the Zone or Dazen whatever it's called. Got a firestick.
- 36:25Speaker 2: You know the other things that come through the dms
- 36:27Speaker 2: and the emails. Were not going to talk about them.
- 36:29Speaker 2: But yeah, we're gonna watch the fight. So there's a
- 36:31Speaker 2: fight home. We're gonna find a way to watch it.
- 36:33Speaker 2: Got enough TVs to do so, so we're gonna find
- 36:35Speaker 2: a way.
- 36:36Speaker 4: Absolutely, And for any of your first time listeners, you know,
- 36:39Speaker 4: I started off as a craft beer blogger. I love boxing.
- 36:42Speaker 4: I love watching it. It's my favorite sport. But I've never
- 36:44Speaker 4: said I'm an expert. I would never say that Jamison
- 36:46Speaker 4: is a boxing expert. So I want to learn more
- 36:48Speaker 4: about the sport, about the industry. If you're a listener
- 36:50Speaker 4: that has any questions about the sport, about technique, anything
