  [SPEAKER_00]: for now because they do not have a pick until the second round, 56 overall.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But he did make sure to mention for now.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He is not ruling out trading up back into the first round.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Is it possible?

  [SPEAKER_00]: I definitely think it's possible.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But it's definitely possible for the Jaguars to move from 56 back into the first round or from 56 earlier.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Day two of the draft starts at 33 overall.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars have pick 56.

  [SPEAKER_00]: There's a lot of picks in between the start of day two and in 56.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So they could definitely move up on day two as well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, not ruling out anything which shouldn't be a surprise, they try to stay James Gladstone mentioned this.

  [SPEAKER_00]: These guys, you can tell that they have fun with each other, like they're enjoy being around each other.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's just a refreshing dynamic, and I'm not here to say whether that's good or bad.

  [SPEAKER_00]: James Gladstone and Liam Cohen, it's a lot different than any other staff coaching staff front office.

  [SPEAKER_00]: We've known that, but it's been a little while since, you know, they've been in the media room together.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And so it was just fun.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's fun being in there.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's light-hearted, yet like more informative.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You can tell they have respect for the media

  [SPEAKER_00]: And by extension, respect for the fans.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If you're giving the media insightful answers, you're giving the fans insightful answers.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And I personally really do respect that.

  [SPEAKER_00]: James Ladsson, one interesting thing talked about.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They kind of encourage the water cooler type conversations within their building.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They don't want it to feel like a boardroom meeting when they're discussing prospects with discussing position groups or different dynamics.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They want it to feel more less formal.

  [SPEAKER_00]: more casual, serious, but casual in the conversation because he thinks that you can get more to like the root of what someone is actually trying to communicate in that setting easier than you can if you're feeling like you're having to censor yourself or filter yourself.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So I think that that's really cool to hear just a fun kind of philosophical thing from James Gladstone.

  [SPEAKER_00]: will be limited through the offseason program.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And during the offseason program, teams don't have to provide practice report, injury report, or anything like that.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So you're not going to be seeing that consistently, but he'll essentially be limited through the offseason program, which is OTAs and mini-camps, and then expectation.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Again, according to James Ladszone, is to get back to real football stuff for training camp.

  [SPEAKER_00]: for Travis Hunter and they still fully expect him to play both sides of the ball based on what they've said I think he can look a little bit more at corner back than wider seaver think that also makes sense based on the roster construction and where his skill set lies at this point Right, I think right now you look at Travis Hunter you say well Based on his tape last year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think he's a top 10 corner back in the league based on his tape last year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think he's probably

  [SPEAKER_00]: somewhere in the 30 to 45 range at wide receiver and that's not based on upside that's based on like what I saw on tape last year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think the biggest issue was just timing with some of the stuff precise timing in certain situations.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, I cannot wait to see him back on the football field.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But fans need to understand he's going to be limited until training camp.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And I would expect for the first few days of training camp.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of like a ramp up period.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They'll be getting him ramped up throughout the off season.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That's what being limited is.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And he is an exceptional athlete from an endurance standpoint, stamina, all that stuff.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Watching Travis Hunter play football is fun.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Rhino Haller and asked James Ladsstone to trade out what's the deepest position in the draft.

  [SPEAKER_00]: a little bit of a roundabout answer, but I think you could infer that he was suggesting defense event might be the deepest position in the draft or at least is a deeper position than some other positions.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Edge, which I think that aligns with Jaguar's needs.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Certainly, I've been talking about the Jaguar's needing to add past rush.

  [SPEAKER_00]: all off season.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And so, part of that can be adding edge.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They like to any struggle.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They like be Jay Green.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I like those guys too.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think you want more competition.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You want more depth.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You want guys that, you know, just to go and green, we're on draft of free agents.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars are a team that if they had valued them that highly, they would have just drafted the guys, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: So can you go find some people to draft that maybe you think have a higher upside, a higher ceiling, whatever it may be?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Gladstone did say like, when it comes to the draft, it,

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's not about necessarily finding someone all the time that is going to have an immediate starting role, usually and especially when you're at 56 beyond 50 and the draft is exactly what he said.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You're looking for players that can contribute in year one.

  [SPEAKER_00]: and grow into bigger roles moving forward.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You're usually not finding players after the top 50, he said, that are like year one, come in and start and have a huge role.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And the Jaguars don't really need someone to come in and start and have a huge role.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They need contributors.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Guys that can contribute in different ways, can they find guys that can contribute to the past rush and prove the offensive lined up and have projectable roles moving forward.

  [SPEAKER_00]: beyond the trenches.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe that linebacker is obviously something you look at with losing dev and Lloyd.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Depth that wide receiver, something you look at certainly.

  [SPEAKER_00]: but he did say edges deep, there's a lot of guys that can rush the passer and he said that's gonna be fun to watch in the first round kind of how that goes, but I would imagine they're keen on some of those guys and he did say positions or areas of the roster that they are looking at, they feel are deep in this draft.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So they feel like what they're hunting up as he would say.

  [SPEAKER_00]: aligns with kind of what is available in this draft and there's a lot more to get into and there's just a couple more things I'm going to talk about but.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I highly encourage it's fun and entertaining and informative to listen to James Gladstone and Liam Cohen.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So I highly encourage, go watch the actual whole thing.

  [SPEAKER_00]: These are just like my top takeaways that I wanted to highlight on the channel here.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But I asked him a couple of questions.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I asked how much they study tendencies and needs of other teams and like how that affects their strategy and Gladstone answered pretty much.

  [SPEAKER_00]: verbatim how I expected him to like they do pay attention to that a lot that helps them kind of gauge where a player may or may or may not be available what a team in front of them might do.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's critical part of their process especially when you're talking about pick 56 and beyond like last year they didn't have to wait at all they got to pick number two right they knew exactly what they're

  [SPEAKER_00]: what who's going to be available when there's 55 picks before you're picking which of course they might get up and move and pick before that but they might not and so if there's 55 players selected figuring out what is the likelihood that this player is available not available

  [SPEAKER_00]: Do we need to move up for a player?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Could we potentially move back for a player?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Could we move back from where we're at right now and still get the player we want based on what we know about these teams and what they need and what their tendencies are that are right behind us.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Same thing about moving up.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then they also study their own tendencies and try to make it to where they're unpredictable as well.

  [SPEAKER_00]: kind of like an actual coaching staff.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Which is fun.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He made that analogy there.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I also asked how they handle if they perceive a player

  [SPEAKER_00]: If they, if they have a ranking on a player where they have, I didn't get this specific with the question, try to keep it a little bit more on the rails, but like, let's say they had a second round grade on someone, but based on what they're seeing around the web, based on what they're seeing or hearing from other coaching staffs or other team's scouting staffs, general managers, whatever.

  [SPEAKER_00]: if they perceive that they're much higher on a player than the rest of the league is, how do they handle that?

  [SPEAKER_00]: And essentially,

  [SPEAKER_00]: I do think that that is a factor for them like they wait a little bit, but they're going to take players that they think can help them win games.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And Liam kind of joked with James after that and was talking about, you know, draft grades and all that.

  [SPEAKER_00]: James said, I didn't get grades in elementary school and I don't care about getting good grades now.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's about wins and lawsuits, about helping find players that can help us win football games.

  [SPEAKER_00]: not a lot of people were pecking Kayla Ransal at pick 88 and that's exactly what the Jaguar's did and I think that that raised some eyebrows and so I think they're legit about that.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If they have a great on a player and they think it's the right time, they're going to go get them.
