- 0:05Speaker 1: Good morning, good morning, good morning, and welcome, welcome, welcome.
- 0:07Speaker 1: It's time now for one on one with the pro.
- 0:09Speaker 1: But actually I got a pair of pros in here
- 0:12Speaker 1: today from Advanced as Solution. We have Quentin and Jordan
- 0:15Speaker 1: in here with us. Gentlemen, how are you doing today?
- 0:18Speaker 2: Great morning.
- 0:19Speaker 1: First of all, tell us a little bit about your
- 0:21Speaker 1: business and how you got started and all this.
- 0:24Speaker 3: So I started a major corporation in nineteen ninety eight actually,
- 0:28Speaker 3: and they seem to school in San Antonio, to school,
- 0:32Speaker 3: rode to someone for a long time, had my own
- 0:34Speaker 3: route and just decided, you know, it's time to do
- 0:37Speaker 3: it on my own.
- 0:37Speaker 2: So I've been doing this for myself about the last
- 0:39Speaker 2: thirteen years.
- 0:40Speaker 1: Wow, Jordan, and how did you get involved in this?
- 0:43Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 0:44Speaker 1: Same thing.
- 0:44Speaker 4: I was kind of with a big national company for
- 0:47Speaker 4: a while cross paths with Quinton here about a year ago,
- 0:52Speaker 4: and he put me to work and I'm loving every
- 0:55Speaker 4: bit of it.
- 0:55Speaker 1: Well, this is great. You've been the solution for unwanted
- 1:01Speaker 1: best for now Lucky thirteen. Where you located?
- 1:05Speaker 3: Actually we live in Copane, lived in Copan my whole life.
- 1:09Speaker 3: My great grandpa actually he squattered on Indian land. Actually,
- 1:13Speaker 3: didn't get any land.
- 1:14Speaker 2: But he squatted there.
- 1:15Speaker 3: So we're very quite a few generations deep into in
- 1:19Speaker 3: the cocaine area. But I've always worked in Bordersville, so
- 1:22Speaker 3: I have a lot of people I know down here
- 1:24Speaker 3: as well.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Now, tell us a little bit about the company. We
- 1:29Speaker 1: kind of get the idea that you have a solution
- 1:32Speaker 1: for a past, right, but tell us what kind of past.
- 1:33Speaker 3: We're The reason I can remember that name is a
- 1:36Speaker 3: lot of people. I kind of make a joke of this.
- 1:39Speaker 3: People think you should be called Magic Wand Past Control
- 1:43Speaker 3: because they think you can just go in and a
- 1:44Speaker 3: way with WAND and it's all gone, and there's a
- 1:47Speaker 3: solution to The solution is me and you working together.
- 1:50Speaker 3: And there's times I got to say, hey, you kind
- 1:52Speaker 3: of need to clean up, or hey we need to
- 1:54Speaker 3: seal these cracks up or things like.
- 1:56Speaker 1: That, or the problem is going to come back.
- 1:58Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, exactly.
- 1:59Speaker 3: Well you're not going to get rid of it because
- 2:01Speaker 3: they won't roaches, for instance, won't eat bait when there's
- 2:04Speaker 3: all kinds of food laying around.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Sure.
- 2:06Speaker 3: So, and I started this just I kind of want
- 2:09Speaker 3: to be the best, not just the best pest control service.
- 2:12Speaker 3: I want to be the best service company anyone's ever had.
- 2:14Speaker 3: So we really strive to take care of our customers.
- 2:17Speaker 3: We don't really do contracts. We do month to month.
- 2:20Speaker 3: Somebody wants to cancel, then we let them. Sure, a
- 2:24Speaker 3: lot of the big companies do binding contracts and they
- 2:27Speaker 3: tie you in and then they make you buy out,
- 2:30Speaker 3: and I'm just not going to do that. I mean,
- 2:32Speaker 3: people go through things, do they get rid of the problem.
- 2:35Speaker 3: They don't really need you sometimes anymore, especially if money's
- 2:38Speaker 3: tied Sure.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Now, the way you came in here, invited, of course
- 2:43Speaker 1: to the company. You find this a little bit easier
- 2:46Speaker 1: than the big mega companies, don't you? Oh?
- 2:49Speaker 4: Most definitely. Yeah, you know, we do a lot of
- 2:51Speaker 4: things more service focused. Like like Quentin said, we're a
- 2:56Speaker 4: service company, not just a pass control company. We're here
- 2:59Speaker 4: to do a service, get it done. A lot of
- 3:01Speaker 4: those corporations are really focused on the money. We're not
- 3:05Speaker 4: as focused on that. We're folks to get the customers
- 3:08Speaker 4: taken care of.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Uh.
- 3:10Speaker 4: And then I love love working for Quinning and don
- 3:13Speaker 4: with advanced past solutions one hundred times better than the
- 3:17Speaker 4: big companies.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Well, it sounds like you're you're working just like you
- 3:21Speaker 1: would expect someone to do in your hometown, your home area,
- 3:24Speaker 1: your home region. We're gonna we're gonna work as partners.
- 3:27Speaker 1: We're gonna work as friends, and we're gonna find d
- 3:29Speaker 1: D a solution. There you go, it's right there on
- 3:33Speaker 1: the badge.
- 3:33Speaker 3: But there's something I I I figure every day I
- 3:37Speaker 3: get to go see friends I haven't seen from month,
- 3:40Speaker 3: or I gotta meet friends.
- 3:42Speaker 2: I haven't met yet.
- 3:42Speaker 3: So we got to meet so many new people and
- 3:45Speaker 3: it's such a cool experience to get to know people.
- 3:48Speaker 3: I have one family in South Coffee that I've been doing.
- 3:51Speaker 3: I've done five generations of their family. Wow, five generations,
- 3:55Speaker 3: and you know, you just it's beyond a customer.
- 3:58Speaker 2: You become friends. You you developed relationships with people, and
- 4:02Speaker 2: that's that's kind of what we're all supposed to have.
- 4:04Speaker 3: Right, We're supposed to come together and help each other
- 4:06Speaker 3: and and care about each other.
- 4:08Speaker 1: So right when it comes to the pests, I'm just
- 4:13Speaker 1: gonna start out with bugs. We start there. Where do
- 4:17Speaker 1: we go from there? Yeah?
- 4:18Speaker 4: So you know, we do anything general from a general
- 4:21Speaker 4: pest control service with your you know, your spiders, crickets,
- 4:25Speaker 4: mole crickets, millipedes, beetles, everything all the way up to ants.
- 4:31Speaker 4: Then we get into mice. Bed bugs is a really
- 4:34Speaker 4: big one. And you know, what we do for a
- 4:37Speaker 4: bed bug treatment, I guarantee is a hundred times different
- 4:41Speaker 4: than regular companies. We're doing every crack, crevice, every inch
- 4:44Speaker 4: of a room, not with just a spray. We have foams, dusts,
- 4:50Speaker 4: everything will get done with that job. So we do
- 4:53Speaker 4: quite a bit of a wide variety of pests, not
- 4:56Speaker 4: just our regular general.
- 4:58Speaker 1: So when you do like the ed bug thing, you're
- 5:01Speaker 1: doing it the first time to be the last time exactly.
- 5:04Speaker 4: Yeah, So what we do is we do one treatment.
- 5:07Speaker 4: Two weeks later we do the exact same treatment, so
- 5:11Speaker 4: we can pretty much get every crack and ensure that
- 5:14Speaker 4: we get every every crack done.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Now they call it and passed for a reason, they're unwanted, yes.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Right right.
- 5:20Speaker 3: Something else we have and when we did the home
- 5:23Speaker 3: show in Cofferville, we have dogs. We do not have dog,
- 5:27Speaker 3: but we have a guy that comes in with bedbug dogs.
- 5:29Speaker 3: I don't know if you've got to see him or not,
- 5:31Speaker 3: but they will go in and search the house, the
- 5:35Speaker 3: whole house, and tell us.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Exactly where the bugs are. At so.
- 5:39Speaker 3: Most companies will treat every room, and they charge you
- 5:42Speaker 3: for every room that they treat.
- 5:44Speaker 2: We treat the rooms.
- 5:45Speaker 3: That need treated because it's kind of like fixing a
- 5:48Speaker 3: fender that didn't have a din in it. Sure, there's
- 5:51Speaker 3: no reason to fix the whole car, just fix that
- 5:53Speaker 3: one fender. We just treat the areas we know. The
- 5:57Speaker 3: dogs have found the bugs in Jee helped me for
- 6:02Speaker 3: about seven months and we've not had a callback yet.
- 6:06Speaker 5: Money with mind, yeah, the dogs, The dogs save us.
- 6:12Speaker 5: It's a little bit more money up front. But in
- 6:15Speaker 5: the long hault, the peace of mind.
- 6:18Speaker 3: There's something called parapsychosis, which is how what people get
- 6:22Speaker 3: when they find they have Beddoes they just kind of
- 6:24Speaker 3: lose it?
- 6:25Speaker 2: Yeah, they really do. And I think I need a
- 6:27Speaker 2: psychology psychology.
- 6:29Speaker 3: Degree because I've had emotional breakdowns of all kinds of
- 6:33Speaker 3: stress and correct.
- 6:34Speaker 1: People take it as a reflection of themselves and it's
- 6:36Speaker 1: not right.
- 6:38Speaker 3: Or the children are getting bid and then they feel
- 6:40Speaker 3: like a bad parent and they feel like they're dirty.
- 6:42Speaker 2: Well, it's it's not really anything to be ashamed of.
- 6:45Speaker 3: You picked it up at church. I've done churches. Before
- 6:48Speaker 3: you go to church, you come back and you bring
- 6:49Speaker 3: an invited guests. Yeah, you know, it's just it happens
- 6:52Speaker 3: a hotel er. So it's not just like a filthy thing.
- 6:56Speaker 3: Pests come from anywhere anywhere.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Ye oh my god.
- 7:01Speaker 3: You think about an ambulance. I mean, you think about
- 7:03Speaker 3: that they pick up. They can't say, oh you got bugs,
- 7:05Speaker 3: We can't pick you up. So you transfer or even
- 7:09Speaker 3: bet you buy a bed, Well you thankful they're going
- 7:11Speaker 3: to breathe the bed to me. Well yeah, but they
- 7:13Speaker 3: had an old bed on that truck for your new bed.
- 7:17Speaker 1: So you never know, you never know, right, Oh wow.
- 7:19Speaker 1: So we take care of the problem as as specified
- 7:23Speaker 1: as they say when it comes to the pests, they
- 7:26Speaker 1: have little long tails on them. Uh that's a whole
- 7:30Speaker 1: new ball game, isn't it. Mice and stuff like that.
- 7:33Speaker 3: Yeah, So every a lot of companies will use one
- 7:38Speaker 3: treatment plan for everything.
- 7:39Speaker 2: They do the same thing.
- 7:40Speaker 3: They use a wand B and jess are great, but
- 7:43Speaker 3: they have a purpose. So we use exclusion number one.
- 7:47Speaker 3: Try to figure out where they're coming in to an inspection,
- 7:49Speaker 3: trying to figure out where that I'm sorry, mice are
- 7:53Speaker 3: coming in and then mice are in the attic really strong,
- 7:57Speaker 3: so We usually bait the attic real well, and then
- 8:00Speaker 3: we also bait the areas in the house.
- 8:02Speaker 2: Everything is in a lock box.
- 8:04Speaker 3: The road in the side does not have uh secondary poisoning,
- 8:08Speaker 3: So if a dog gets into a mouth, gets to
- 8:11Speaker 3: a mouse, or a cat gets to a mouse that's
- 8:13Speaker 3: being killed, it will not kill that secondary. Yeah, so
- 8:16Speaker 3: something I always trying to tell people because nobody wants
- 8:19Speaker 3: to kill the pet.
- 8:20Speaker 1: No, no, no, Do you ever get squirrels in the attic?
- 8:24Speaker 3: Yes, but that's a whole different license, So there's there's
- 8:28Speaker 3: just specialized. There's not many pest companies that do it
- 8:31Speaker 3: because it takes a lot of time to trap them
- 8:33Speaker 3: and then you got to set them free and you've
- 8:35Speaker 3: got to do a lot of conclusion. So it's almost
- 8:37Speaker 3: a separate well, it is a separate license.
- 8:39Speaker 1: Actually, Okay, then I'm not gonna go with do you
- 8:41Speaker 1: get rid of bats in the bill? For different? Right? Well,
- 8:49Speaker 1: why do we get a hold of you for for
- 8:51Speaker 1: consultation and see what you know? Become friends.
- 8:55Speaker 4: You can reach out to us online with Reaper dot
- 8:59Speaker 4: com or as Solutions dot com. That's one good way
- 9:03Speaker 4: to reach out to us.
- 9:05Speaker 2: Our phone numbers nine one eight four four zero eight
- 9:07Speaker 2: seven ninety seven. And I tell people just call us
- 9:10Speaker 2: if you have any questions.
- 9:11Speaker 3: I mean I spend some days quite a few hours
- 9:14Speaker 3: on the phone just talking to people. And there's times
- 9:18Speaker 3: I don't do the service, but it helps them maybe
- 9:21Speaker 3: with their peace of mind because of bed bugs or roaches.
- 9:24Speaker 2: So you know, that's that's kind of what we're here for.
- 9:27Speaker 3: I kind of I started this thirteen years ago and
- 9:30Speaker 3: it's kind of my ministry in a sense. I mean
- 9:33Speaker 3: there's times that we give away pest control. There's times
- 9:36Speaker 3: we help people just because I think that's you know,
- 9:38Speaker 3: giving back, that's what you're supposed to do. And there's
- 9:42Speaker 3: times that it's really hard to help people because they're
- 9:45Speaker 3: not very clean.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Or or it won't help them they will help themselves.
- 9:48Speaker 3: So it's it's a it's a tricky thing to be
- 9:51Speaker 3: able to tell someone, hey, you need to clean the
- 9:52Speaker 3: house in a manner that is not offensive. Sure, but
- 9:56Speaker 3: that's kind of what you need to do at times. Yeah,
- 9:59Speaker 3: and all so when you have roaches and you've had
- 10:01Speaker 3: them for a while, you kind of give up, you know,
- 10:04Speaker 3: you wash your dishes and then you got to wash
- 10:06Speaker 3: them again.
- 10:07Speaker 2: For you anything because it's been bugs on them.
- 10:08Speaker 3: Oh boy, so you have to understand that as well.
- 10:12Speaker 3: The mindset's a little bit different.
- 10:14Speaker 1: It sure is. Well, it's nice to know that we
- 10:16Speaker 1: have you right here in our neck of the woods.
- 10:20Speaker 1: So if you do have a problem that needs a solution,
- 10:26Speaker 1: you can just get a hold of advanced pasts solutions.
- 10:29Speaker 1: And once again, that's what they're all about, a relationship
- 10:32Speaker 1: to create a solution that's tailored for you or your home,
- 10:37Speaker 1: your business. You do businesses, right, Yeah, that's right.
- 10:40Speaker 3: And like I say, the one thing that's really different
- 10:44Speaker 3: is a lot of companies will go in and they
- 10:47Speaker 3: have one treatment plan for everything. And I've followed other
- 10:51Speaker 3: companies that have been spraying a house for a year
- 10:54Speaker 3: for roaches and I go in in a few months.
- 10:56Speaker 2: It takes a few months to actually get rid of
- 10:58Speaker 2: all them. You have a lifecycle.
- 11:00Speaker 3: And they actually were there's a customer dat of town
- 11:04Speaker 3: and they were living out of boxes in the utility
- 11:07Speaker 3: room and I said, why are you doing this? Is well,
- 11:10Speaker 3: we've been having someone come for a year and we
- 11:13Speaker 3: still have roaches and we're still getting out there. And
- 11:15Speaker 3: I said, well, you can put the stuff back in
- 11:16Speaker 3: the cabinets because I'm not necessarily gonna spreay everything down
- 11:19Speaker 3: and in a couple of months, three months, whatever it was,
- 11:22Speaker 3: they were pretty much completely irrelocated. So it's it's a
- 11:26Speaker 3: matter of doing things efficiently, you know, like the O saying,
- 11:29Speaker 3: work smarter, not harder.
- 11:31Speaker 1: Oh I'm all about to.
- 11:32Speaker 3: Yeah, And it's easy to go in and spray and
- 11:34Speaker 3: you can be gone in ten minutes. But if you
- 11:37Speaker 3: still have the problem, then you just wasted your money.
- 11:40Speaker 1: Oh indeed, And this is a job that's very rewarding too, Jordan,
- 11:44Speaker 1: very yeah. Yeah.
- 11:45Speaker 4: Like I said, uh, in the beginning, it's it's a service.
- 11:49Speaker 4: So it's not just get in, get out. We want
- 11:52Speaker 4: to get to know our customers and build those relationships friendships.
- 11:57Speaker 4: You know, some customers are like family. You get to
- 11:59Speaker 4: see them once a month, you get to catch up
- 12:00Speaker 4: with them and really build that relationship. And that's that's
- 12:03Speaker 4: the most rewarding part about this job.
- 12:05Speaker 1: And like you said, you've got customers you've been serving
- 12:07Speaker 1: for generations. Yeah, exactly, generations in the whole family.
- 12:10Speaker 3: But one thing I'm really proud of is is if
- 12:13Speaker 3: people don't take our word for it, go to our
- 12:15Speaker 3: Google reviews, yeah, we have some amazing Google reviews from
- 12:20Speaker 3: past customers and even present customers that are still giving
- 12:22Speaker 3: us reviews.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Nice.
- 12:24Speaker 2: Yeah, so it's it's it's a big deal.
- 12:26Speaker 3: And most people, a lot of people do look at
- 12:29Speaker 3: Google reviews when they call you just just kind of
- 12:32Speaker 3: see what they're dealing with.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Advanced past solutions. Advanced past solutions. Write that down. Okay,
- 12:40Speaker 1: except for you in the car, Okay, you just catch
- 12:42Speaker 1: this on the podcast. We want you to driving and
- 12:45Speaker 1: writing at the same time. But keep them in mind,
- 12:49Speaker 1: if not for yourself and maybe for your you know,
- 12:53Speaker 1: your business, or maybe if someone is asking you, hey,
- 12:56Speaker 1: have you heard of somebody who can help us in
- 12:58Speaker 1: this direction on the Well, there's your answer right there,
- 13:03Speaker 1: and it's Advanced Past solutions. Guys. I tell you what,
- 13:06Speaker 1: this is a great first time having you guys on here.
- 13:09Speaker 1: You know, I told him, I said, you know, we're
- 13:11Speaker 1: just going to have a conversation here, and we we're
- 13:15Speaker 1: not going to get into a great, big, old, you know,
- 13:18Speaker 1: grind down interview or anything. We're here to make friends
- 13:22Speaker 1: as well, and we're here to connect not only with
- 13:25Speaker 1: each other, but also with our audience and help them
- 13:28Speaker 1: make some decisions. On what they want as far as
- 13:32Speaker 1: their next pass Control Company, and I'd almost call it
- 13:37Speaker 1: a family.
- 13:39Speaker 2: You know it. Sometimes it becomes closer to some family
- 13:42Speaker 2: at times.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Bet it does well. Quentin and Jordan, I want to
- 13:47Speaker 1: thank you both for being here with us today on
- 13:49Speaker 1: one on one with the pro
