- 0:00Speaker 1: Shit the bed.
- 0:01Speaker 2: Howdy, folks.
- 0:02Speaker 1: Come on in.
- 0:15Speaker 3: From the wicks of them fancy britches and sassy little hairdos,
- 0:19Speaker 3: y'all ain't from around here, are ya? This is Sid Hagan,
- 0:23Speaker 3: you're fucking around with Movie Meltdown.
- 0:25Speaker 4: Why don't you just take your mama home some chicken,
- 0:28Speaker 4: and then I won't have to stuff my boot all
- 0:30Speaker 4: up in your ass.
- 0:31Speaker 1: This episode is rated M for Misty.
- 0:42Speaker 3: Yes, that's right, this is a Misty episode, so it
- 0:44Speaker 3: will be laced with profanity even more than usual. If
- 0:47Speaker 3: you're not comfortable with this level of profanity, perhaps this
- 0:50Speaker 3: isn't the episode for you. But we have many other
- 0:52Speaker 3: episodes to choose from that do not feature Misty, and
- 0:55Speaker 3: will probably be far less offensive. Okay, maybe. With that
- 0:59Speaker 3: having been said, on with the show.
- 1:11Speaker 5: It's showtime, folks.
- 1:14Speaker 3: Enjoy the show.
- 1:17Speaker 5: Our nuclear reactor pumping out one.
- 1:20Speaker 6: Million kilowatts of power.
- 1:47Speaker 7: Five more cooling in the containment chamber.
- 1:48Speaker 8: To your stations.
- 1:49Speaker 3: We have a movie meltdown.
- 1:51Speaker 2: I'm not bad. I'm just drawn that way.
- 2:04Speaker 3: What's up?
- 2:05Speaker 7: Welcome to Movie Meltdown. I'm Brian.
- 2:06Speaker 2: I'm Misty.
- 2:08Speaker 9: And I'm Jay.
- 2:09Speaker 7: And we're coming to you live via digital recording with
- 2:11Speaker 7: our wrap-up of this year's Days of the Dead in Indianapolis.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Hells yeah, we are.
- 2:16Speaker 7: So we are recapping all the fun that was Indianapolis
- 2:21Speaker 7: and the creepiness of Days.
- 2:22Speaker 3: Of the Dead.
- 2:23Speaker 2: Did we go last year? Did I go last year?
- 2:26Speaker 7: I don't know what you did. I'm pretty sure I
- 2:27Speaker 7: was there last year.
- 2:28Speaker 2: I can't remember if this was the first year at
- 2:30Speaker 2: the new venue or.
- 2:31Speaker 7: I think so. I don't remember any of the Days
- 2:35Speaker 7: of the Dead being there.
- 2:38Speaker 2: It wasn't a bad place. It was just like.
- 2:40Speaker 7: It's just different. It's readjusting ourselves. We go to so
- 2:44Speaker 7: many of these and we get used to our specifics
- 2:47Speaker 7: of how they run and once in a while they
- 2:50Speaker 7: mix it up. We move the dog's dish and we
- 2:52Speaker 7: get all confused and stuff.
- 2:54Speaker 3: Parking was okay.
- 2:56Speaker 7: Yeah, surprisingly. It's just a big old ordeal. But, would
- 3:03Speaker 7: you like to discuss your activities? You saw Edward Furlong
- 3:09Speaker 7: 10 seconds in. You were like, and there's Edward Furlong.
- 3:13Speaker 2: A greasy little.
- 3:15Speaker 2: Creasy little dooder that he is just wandering around.
- 3:18Speaker 7: Just hanging out.
- 3:19Speaker 9: Still looks kind of like a high school kid.
- 3:22Speaker 7: Yeah. He might be shrinking as time goes on.
- 3:25Speaker 2: Him and Sid Haig both shrinking.
- 3:28Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 3:29Speaker 2: When deleting stature.
- 3:31Speaker 7: Sid's getting up there. So he's still fighting it though, man.
- 3:34Speaker 7: He is out in the world. He's cruising around by himself.
- 3:37Speaker 7: Just like. Getting back to his table. He had a keeper,
- 3:40Speaker 7: didn't he?
- 3:41Speaker 2: That was a person yelling at people.
- 3:42Speaker 7: I don't know if he did. Eventually, I think that
- 3:43Speaker 7: guy just came up and was like, why don't these
- 3:45Speaker 7: idiots get out of his way? Don't they know this
- 3:46Speaker 7: is a dig? Clear a path. Everybody, move. That's essentially
- 3:52Speaker 7: what he did.
- 3:52Speaker 11: Move, bitch.
- 3:53Speaker 7: Get out the way. She looks lovely. We didn't really
- 4:01Speaker 7: want to get involved in her whole life. She has
- 4:03Speaker 7: a lot of guns on these days. Tragedy has ensued.
- 4:07Speaker 2: According to her, was it Twitter? her twitter account i
- 4:09Speaker 2: think so she does have a twitter page apartment complex
- 4:12Speaker 2: or her apartment i don't know if it's specifically her apartment.
- 4:15Speaker 7: Her whole world caught.
- 4:17Speaker 2: On fire so she's been like i think she's been
- 4:19Speaker 2: doing like some uh gofundme account and i think she's
- 4:22Speaker 2: been doing unless she's done more conventions to try to
- 4:25Speaker 2: like rebuild her life and whatnot but.
- 4:28Speaker 7: Yeah it's kind of sad that's why i was like.
- 4:30Speaker 2: I don't i don't know yeah i was like i
- 4:32Speaker 2: don't know that we.
- 4:33Speaker 7: Want to talk right now it's just gonna be sad
- 4:35Speaker 7: and i'll feel sad for you and I am $ 4,
- 4:37Speaker 7: so I can't give you any money, so now I'll
- 4:40Speaker 7: feel bad. So, like, let's just wait. Maybe down the line.
- 4:43Speaker 7: Maybe some other time when you feel better. So, give
- 4:46Speaker 7: to Cheryl and Ben, I suppose. She's rebuilding her life.
- 4:50Speaker 2: I mean, seriously. Hasn't she offered enough to us, you know?
- 4:55Speaker 7: Just for being gorgeous. Super gorgeous. In that time capsule
- 5:00Speaker 7: that is Twin Peaks era. That's really all you need
- 5:03Speaker 7: is just Audrey in her outfit.
- 5:05Speaker 3: Being gorgeous.
- 5:06Speaker 2: She's just dreaming.
- 5:07Speaker 7: Being kind of a jerk and yet somehow still like
- 5:09Speaker 7: super awesome.
- 5:10Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 5:12Speaker 2: We saw Alicia Witt who I was trying to I
- 5:14Speaker 2: couldn't I told boyfriend I'm like oh Alicia Witt's gonna
- 5:16Speaker 2: be there and he's like who's she? What has she done?
- 5:19Speaker 7: No offense, Alicia, he can't remember most things, so it's okay.
- 5:22Speaker 9: We're punching ahead a lot.
- 5:24Speaker 2: Yeah, well, me, I'm like, what the fuck has she done?
- 5:26Speaker 7: Well, it is one of those, it's a weird pull,
- 5:28Speaker 7: because I feel like even people that know her probably
- 5:30Speaker 7: know her from such drastically different things that, like, you're
- 5:33Speaker 7: not going to have one universal, like, oh yeah she
- 5:36Speaker 7: was you know not everybody's gonna have that.
- 5:38Speaker 2: Four rooms with the duct tape on her boobies and
- 5:42Speaker 2: she was the little kid from dune.
- 5:44Speaker 7: Of course again i feel like that's a real specific
- 5:47Speaker 7: pool that a handful of geeks out there would be
- 5:51Speaker 7: like yeah obviously but most people on the street aren't
- 5:55Speaker 7: gonna get that like little girl from dune a million
- 5:58Speaker 7: years ago that now they're remade once and they're remaking
- 6:01Speaker 7: again and So I think we're losing that little girl
- 6:03Speaker 7: from Dune reference as time goes on. But for some people,
- 6:08Speaker 7: she's still the little girl from Dune. We also ran
- 6:12Speaker 7: into your bestest friend.
- 6:13Speaker 2: Which one?
- 6:14Speaker 7: Alyssa Rose.
- 6:16Speaker 2: I saw her from a distance. I didn't approach her.
- 6:18Speaker 7: You walked right past her table. You didn't tackle her
- 6:20Speaker 7: or anything. You were like, let's catch.
- 6:22Speaker 2: Up from last time we saw each other. I saw
- 6:23Speaker 2: her cleavage.
- 6:24Speaker 10: That's all you need.
- 6:25Speaker 7: And the face.
- 6:26Speaker 2: She lives with that face.
- 6:28Speaker 7: That face?
- 6:28Speaker 2: Yep, that's her face.
- 6:29Speaker 7: I just showed it to her right now.
- 6:32Speaker 2: It doesn't need to be shown.
- 6:34Speaker 7: It's just the face.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Either you know the face or you don't know the face.
- 6:37Speaker 7: You know the face and you live in horror or
- 6:40Speaker 7: you're skipping through life not really aware of the evil
- 6:44Speaker 7: that is the face.
- 6:46Speaker 11: Judy.
- 6:48Speaker 9: You make my kid watch out.
- 6:50Speaker 7: Isn't she traumatized enough for God's sakes?
- 6:54Speaker 2: Such a good movie.
- 6:55Speaker 7: We saw Nick Stahl. He was cool.
- 7:00Speaker 2: He was there.
- 7:01Speaker 7: I kind of want to. He seems like he's a
- 7:02Speaker 7: cool dude.
- 7:03Speaker 2: I was kind of bummed that he didn't have any carnivals.
- 7:05Speaker 7: Yeah. See, again, like, not everybody. That's another one of
- 7:08Speaker 7: those you're losing. Like, the handful of people that thought
- 7:10Speaker 7: that was awesome, which didn't seem to be HBO. Or
- 7:14Speaker 7: was that Showtime? I can't remember.
- 7:16Speaker 2: Either way.
- 7:16Speaker 7: Either way, whatever network that was that bailed on him.
- 7:19Speaker 2: Fuckers. Could have at least finished the arc.
- 7:22Speaker 7: Finish out a season and wrap this thing up. But, yeah. So, that.
- 7:27Speaker 7: It kind of sucked.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Even my dentist was talking to me. I had to
- 7:31Speaker 2: go see my dentist again.
- 7:32Speaker 7: Your dentist has become like a regular character on this show.
- 7:35Speaker 2: Because I broke a tooth. I didn't break it on purpose.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Intentionally I had to go see my dentist.
- 7:39Speaker 7: That's her story, but I don't know if anybody out
- 7:41Speaker 7: there is buying it if you know her relationship with
- 7:43Speaker 7: this dentist.
- 7:43Speaker 2: I have no relationship with my dentist other than he
- 7:45Speaker 2: fixes my teeth and is handsome. That's the extent of it.
- 7:48Speaker 2: That is the full extent of our professional relationship. That
- 7:52Speaker 2: was our discussion while I was waiting to be numbed.
- 7:58Speaker 7: How often do you use that in a sentence.
- 8:01Speaker 2: We were talking about carnival because apparently my shirt reminded
- 8:03Speaker 2: him of those we're on a ouija board shirt and
- 8:05Speaker 2: i'm like it's a kind of belief but whatever dude.
- 8:07Speaker 7: I guess the font i don't know i saw that
- 8:10Speaker 7: on the side of a cart rolling by one time
- 8:13Speaker 7: on the way to a.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Freak show have you seen this show carnival like it
- 8:17Speaker 2: was like the like the latest greatest newest i'm like yeah.
- 8:20Speaker 7: He's a little behind the times he's like he's.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Like, I don't know that you're thinking of the same
- 8:24Speaker 2: one I'm thinking of.
- 8:25Speaker 7: I'm like, he just got out of the joint, man.
- 8:26Speaker 7: Cut him some slack. He's behind the times.
- 8:28Speaker 2: I'm like, it's got Clancy Brown. He's like, I don't
- 8:31Speaker 2: know who that is.
- 8:31Speaker 10: Damn it.
- 8:34Speaker 2: And I'm like, it's Clancy Brown. He's like, well, he
- 8:35Speaker 2: was also in Shawshank Redemption. I'm like, I haven't seen that.
- 8:38Speaker 2: He's like, how have you not seen Shawshank Redemption?
- 8:40Speaker 7: You two are not connecting. I don't know about this.
- 8:42Speaker 2: I'm like, Clancy Brown. He's like, well, he's really good
- 8:44Speaker 2: in Shawshank Redemption. I'm like, He's also the voice of
- 8:47Speaker 2: SpongeBob SquarePants' Mr.
- 8:49Speaker 11: Krabs.
- 8:50Speaker 7: That's what I was like. I'm like, how does anyone
- 8:52Speaker 7: in the world not know Mr. Krabs at this point
- 8:53Speaker 7: in life? SpongeBob has been around a long time. It's
- 8:57Speaker 7: taken over most people's lives growing up. You have to
- 9:00Speaker 7: know Mr.
- 9:00Speaker 2: Krabs.
- 9:00Speaker 7: Get this together.
- 9:01Speaker 2: But anyways, had Nick Stahl had anything from Carnival there?
- 9:04Speaker 2: Is it Carnival or Carnival?
- 9:07Speaker 7: I think that's one of those people just, you go here.
- 9:11Speaker 7: I think it was Carnival, but... I've always heard Carnival.
- 9:15Speaker 7: professionally i thought they like pushed it as carnival but
- 9:18Speaker 7: i'm assuming you can skate by on whichever pronunciation you want.
- 9:22Speaker 2: Really but uh yeah if he had had anything there
- 9:24Speaker 2: from carnival i would have i would have considered the
- 9:26Speaker 2: purchase because i didn't buy anything i bought i made
- 9:29Speaker 2: a purchase and a half we're trying.
- 9:32Speaker 9: To control ourselves no it was it was it was
- 9:34Speaker 9: a full.
- 9:35Speaker 2: Purchase but no because i only bought half of the
- 9:37Speaker 2: other part because it was like two bags for five
- 9:39Speaker 2: dollars and i only bought one of the bags so
- 9:42Speaker 2: One bag for $ 2, which is a scam, but apparently.
- 9:44Speaker 7: You're just cheating.
- 9:45Speaker 2: I know. But who else did we see there? You
- 9:48Speaker 2: said you saw Shatner, but I didn't see Shatner.
- 9:50Speaker 7: Oh, yeah, when I was going to secure our location
- 9:53Speaker 7: for our guest this week. And when I was rounding
- 9:56Speaker 7: the corner to come back to where you were, yeah,
- 9:58Speaker 7: here comes Shatner just coming. along, telling a story like
- 10:02Speaker 7: he does, because he's always talking and telling stories. So
- 10:05Speaker 7: whoever his handler dude was that was leading him to,
- 10:08Speaker 7: I don't know, give a talk or go to the bathroom,
- 10:11Speaker 7: whatever the hell he was doing, he was just like
- 10:13Speaker 7: midway into the story and just going at it. So
- 10:15Speaker 7: I'm just like, all right, Shatner, you be you. Keep
- 10:18Speaker 7: on trucking. And he did, right on past.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Who else did we see? It was quite an impressive
- 10:24Speaker 2: array of people at this convention.
- 10:25Speaker 7: Yeah. Michael Biehn was there.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Kathleen Turner was there.
- 10:29Speaker 7: No, we're getting there.
- 10:32Speaker 2: Sergeant Slaughter was there.
- 10:34Speaker 9: He still looks the same after all these years.
- 10:36Speaker 7: He's always been old.
- 10:37Speaker 9: No, I mean, he's not been old. I mean, he's older,
- 10:40Speaker 9: but he doesn't look like he's gotten old.
- 10:44Speaker 2: Like I said, I think he started off old.
- 10:45Speaker 7: Yeah, I think that's it, because somehow he was like...
- 10:47Speaker 7: 40 when we were kids.
- 10:51Speaker 3: He still looks 40.
- 10:52Speaker 7: That's what I'm saying. He might have aged a few years.
- 10:55Speaker 7: He might be in his 50s now, which is a
- 10:56Speaker 7: good trick considering the decades have gone by in the meantime.
- 11:00Speaker 7: That's a pretty good trick.
- 11:02Speaker 9: Mustache still looks the same.
- 11:03Speaker 7: His chin still looks the same.
- 11:05Speaker 9: That little slit of a mouth that he's got still
- 11:07Speaker 9: looks the same.
- 11:08Speaker 7: My question is, do you have a Sergeant Slaughter conspiracy theory?
- 11:13Speaker 7: Have they secretly replaced Sergeant Slaughter?
- 11:17Speaker 2: I do not have a conspiracy on this one. Of
- 11:19Speaker 2: all my conspiracies, this is not one of them because
- 11:21Speaker 2: it's not one of the things I've ever put any
- 11:22Speaker 2: thought into.
- 11:24Speaker 7: As we were road tripping today, we covered a few
- 11:26Speaker 7: conspiracy theories of people that may have been dead and replaced.
- 11:30Speaker 3: So, you know.
- 11:31Speaker 2: That's my Scott Weiland theory. I'm pretty sure.
- 11:34Speaker 7: Sometimes you gotta avril the people and replace them and
- 11:37Speaker 7: keep their career going, you know.
- 11:39Speaker 3: Well, here's the thing.
- 11:40Speaker 9: He looks better than Iron Sheik. Well. How many years
- 11:43Speaker 9: ago did we see Iron Sheik? Iron Sheik was falling apart.
- 11:47Speaker 7: And that's sad, because Iron Sheik's... It's been a long
- 11:49Speaker 7: time ago.
- 11:50Speaker 9: It's sad the amount of... Well, because I really don't
- 11:52Speaker 9: give a shit about wrestling. I never did growing up.
- 11:55Speaker 9: Whenever the wrestling came on TV, I went outside and played.
- 11:58Speaker 9: Because cartoons were over with. But I knew who the
- 12:00Speaker 9: Iron Sheik was. But to go back and read his background,
- 12:03Speaker 9: it's actually kind of sad, you know?
- 12:05Speaker 2: Do you know the background, or are you just going
- 12:08Speaker 2: to leave us hanging on that? You've got to look
- 12:10Speaker 2: it up yourself.
- 12:11Speaker 10: No, he was.
- 12:11Speaker 7: This is some homework, kids.
- 12:13Speaker 3: See, I.
- 12:15Speaker 9: I don't remember if he was Iraqi or Iranian, but
- 12:18Speaker 9: he was an Olympic wrestler. And then he realized, oh,
- 12:22Speaker 9: he came to the United States. Came to the United States. And,
- 12:26Speaker 9: of course, what he gets pin and hold is the
- 12:29Speaker 9: bad Middle Eastern guy.
- 12:31Speaker 7: You're definitely going to be a villain, especially in the 80s.
- 12:33Speaker 7: You're definitely going to be a villain.
- 12:34Speaker 9: Yeah, he was the villain, but he was actually a
- 12:36Speaker 9: pretty nice guy.
- 12:38Speaker 2: Kind of turned him into a dick, though, because he
- 12:39Speaker 2: was like.
- 12:41Speaker 9: That wasn't him. That was his handlers. The last time
- 12:44Speaker 9: that was like, delete the photo. Delete it now! That
- 12:47Speaker 9: wasn't him.
- 12:48Speaker 7: A convention many, many years ago that we went to.
- 12:51Speaker 7: He was sitting at his table and some random dude
- 12:54Speaker 7: was taking pictures of him at his table without his permission.
- 12:57Speaker 7: And his handler got a little aggressive about it.
- 13:03Speaker 2: I think there was somebody else that I was excited
- 13:04Speaker 2: to see. I'd be like, oh my god, look at
- 13:05Speaker 2: that person, look at that person.
- 13:06Speaker 10: And I can't remember who it was.
- 13:08Speaker 9: Godzilla.
- 13:09Speaker 7: Godzilla. New Godzilla. Not original Godzilla.
- 13:12Speaker 2: On fire Godzilla.
- 13:13Speaker 7: Rest in peace original Godzilla.
- 13:14Speaker 9: Not brand new Godzilla.
- 13:15Speaker 3: Well, new word.
- 13:16Speaker 7: On fire Godzilla.
- 13:17Speaker 2: That's what they had him listed as.
- 13:18Speaker 9: Yeah, he was the fire Godzilla.
- 13:19Speaker 7: Burning Godzilla.
- 13:21Speaker 10: Burning Godzilla.
- 13:21Speaker 2: I was close.
- 13:23Speaker 7: We saw Michael Biehn. His wife. I've seen him many
- 13:26Speaker 7: times over the years.
- 13:27Speaker 2: The Biehn's behind, I don't know.
- 13:28Speaker 7: Michael Biehn, I believe.
- 13:29Speaker 13: Biehn?
- 13:30Speaker 2: Like, like, like kidney beans? Lima beans?
- 13:34Speaker 7: You can ask him next time you see him.
- 13:37Speaker 2: Garbanzo beans?
- 13:39Speaker 7: Newt was there. For a while, Newt wasn't doing stuff anymore,
- 13:43Speaker 7: so I think she's... Or hadn't for years, and then
- 13:45Speaker 7: started doing them, I think, a few years ago, but
- 13:48Speaker 7: did not. She's another one of those that kind of...
- 13:52Speaker 7: Really great performance as a kid, and then went, you know,
- 13:54Speaker 7: this is just not really for me. I believe she's
- 13:57Speaker 7: a teacher now.
- 13:58Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 13:59Speaker 7: Just kind of got out of the business other than
- 14:01Speaker 7: the occasional convention.
- 14:02Speaker 2: A lot of kid actors probably shouldn't have made that call.
- 14:06Speaker 7: A lot of them just.
- 14:07Speaker 2: Edward Furlong?
- 14:08Speaker 7: It's a.
- 14:11Speaker 7: I'm leaving Edward out of this. But yeah, it's a
- 14:13Speaker 7: rough life, rough career to get into. So, you know,
- 14:17Speaker 7: sometimes you want to make that call and be like,
- 14:19Speaker 7: I don't think I want to get involved. This is
- 14:21Speaker 7: a whole lot to deal with. And I just want
- 14:23Speaker 7: to go to grade school, man. Go eat my sandwich
- 14:27Speaker 7: at lunch.
- 14:28Speaker 2: Have my nap time.
- 14:29Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 14:31Speaker 7: Come home and watch cartoons.
- 14:32Speaker 3: I don't want to have to go to work. Shit,
- 14:33Speaker 3: I'm a kid.
- 14:35Speaker 14: Oh, yeah.
- 14:35Speaker 7: Do you want to tell them about your purchase?
- 14:37Speaker 2: I did buy a purchase today. I can't remember the
- 14:39Speaker 2: guy's name. What's his name, boyfriend?
- 14:42Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 14:43Speaker 7: Just because it's, like, again, a special level of, like,
- 14:46Speaker 7: dorky horror person. Like, you have to be, like, several
- 14:49Speaker 7: levels of dorky horror person to, like, fully embrace how
- 14:53Speaker 7: awesome this is.
- 14:55Speaker 2: I saw it. I'm like, because most of the movies,
- 14:56Speaker 2: I'm like, I've seen this shit. I've seen that. I've
- 14:59Speaker 2: been to enough conventions. I mean, I've seen a lot
- 15:00Speaker 2: of the stuff.
- 15:01Speaker 9: Well, the name of it is One Man Riot, but
- 15:06Speaker 9: I think his name's Marty because it says Marty Riot McEwen.
- 15:11Speaker 2: But it's Riot, R-I-E-T, if you go to look for
- 15:13Speaker 2: him in any kind of online location.
- 15:18Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 15:19Speaker 2: One Man Riot, R-I-E-T.
- 15:21Speaker 9: He's on the Instagram.
- 15:23Speaker 7: I try to explain to people after you've seen so
- 15:26Speaker 7: many different conventions, especially when you get into sub-genres of
- 15:30Speaker 7: here's horror and you have tons of... After a while,
- 15:32Speaker 7: I've seen so many tables and so many things. And
- 15:36Speaker 7: there's so many movies that I do want, but I
- 15:38Speaker 7: don't have money for. So I just try not to
- 15:40Speaker 7: look at them anymore because it's frustrating. So I just
- 15:42Speaker 7: try to not overly immerse myself into, ooh, look at that.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Ooh, look at that.
- 15:46Speaker 7: Because it's too much. You don't have any room for stuff.
- 15:49Speaker 7: I don't have any room for it. And I don't
- 15:51Speaker 7: have any money for it. It has not stopped me yet.
- 15:53Speaker 7: At this point, yeah, Misty still looks for her stuff.
- 15:56Speaker 7: But it's occasionally you're walking by and you're like, whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 16:00Speaker 7: I haven't seen that before. What is that?
- 16:01Speaker 2: And I saw it. And it was like a beacon.
- 16:04Speaker 2: And I was drawn. I'm following it to you. Because
- 16:06Speaker 2: this guy had the most glorious collection. It was like
- 16:10Speaker 2: black light, like the black light posters.
- 16:13Speaker 7: Velvet.
- 16:14Speaker 2: But there's not really velvet. It's like flock. Black light posters,
- 16:18Speaker 2: but they're all horror movies. Like horror movie posters. Like
- 16:21Speaker 2: they had like Beetlejuice and he had.
- 16:24Speaker 7: But they were like original art versions of it. Because
- 16:27Speaker 7: it wasn't just like the original poster. Like he had
- 16:30Speaker 7: done his own artwork in that.
- 16:32Speaker 9: It's really good.
- 16:33Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 16:33Speaker 9: And he had what? Return of the Living Dead. He
- 16:36Speaker 9: had like Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th.
- 16:40Speaker 2: Did he have an Evil Dead?
- 16:41Speaker 9: He had an Evil Dead.
- 16:44Speaker 2: Just a whole variety. Did you already say the.
- 16:48Speaker 7: Friday the 13th?
- 16:49Speaker 3: Yes, I did.
- 16:50Speaker 9: But the one that drew you in.
- 16:51Speaker 2: He had like a smaller size, like almost 8 by 10,
- 16:55Speaker 2: maybe a little bit smaller.
- 16:56Speaker 9: More like 10 by 10.
- 16:58Speaker 2: That's not square.
- 16:59Speaker 10: No.
- 17:01Speaker 2: But anyways, it's a smaller size version and it's The
- 17:05Speaker 2: Lost Boys. But, like, it's all the bad vampires. Like, it's, like, David.
- 17:10Speaker 2: I can't for the life of me remember the other.
- 17:12Speaker 7: Other guy and other guy and other guy.
- 17:14Speaker 2: Alex Winter's character. And that one Brooke guy. And the
- 17:19Speaker 2: guy who passed away already. But it's all, it's, like, it's, like,
- 17:22Speaker 2: the cutesy style. It's, like, ridiculously cute. We have seen
- 17:27Speaker 2: him at conventions before. Because he does, like, the Halloween, like,
- 17:29Speaker 2: the Valentine.
- 17:30Speaker 7: They're like the old school style of Valentine's.
- 17:33Speaker 9: From back in the day.
- 17:34Speaker 3: Yeah, like the old 1920s.
- 17:35Speaker 2: But it's like with horror, like, you know, like with war, like,
- 17:39Speaker 2: like Freddy and like Jason and Pinhead and Sam from
- 17:42Speaker 2: Trick or Treat. And there's an Elvira and it's just
- 17:46Speaker 2: all like the retro style, like because of the old
- 17:49Speaker 2: Valentine's that you would see. But it's black light poster, flocked,
- 17:55Speaker 2: with the flocking in it. And it's, oh, it's the
- 17:58Speaker 2: cutest goddamn thing I've ever seen in my entire life.
- 18:00Speaker 2: I saw it and I was just like, I need
- 18:01Speaker 2: that in my life.
- 18:03Speaker 9: And then you bought a bag.
- 18:04Speaker 2: I bought a bag. Because he had these bags, he
- 18:07Speaker 2: even made these bags, and they were like, it looks
- 18:10Speaker 2: like an old school trick or treat bag. But it's
- 18:12Speaker 2: got Sam from Trick or Treat on it. And I
- 18:16Speaker 2: had to have it, and oh my god.
- 18:17Speaker 9: Yeah, two for five, and you had to be difficult
- 18:19Speaker 9: and only want one.
- 18:20Speaker 2: I only want one! What am I going to do
- 18:21Speaker 2: with two?
- 18:23Speaker 7: Double fist trick-or-treating. More for me!
- 18:27Speaker 2: I'm going to lose it. I don't lose things. I
- 18:31Speaker 2: temporarily misplace them, but I don't lose them.
- 18:35Speaker 7: But it was awesome. I would hang it with my
- 18:38Speaker 7: old-school Blacklight poster of that King Cobra wrapped around the
- 18:41Speaker 7: planets of the universe.
- 18:42Speaker 3: Oh.
- 18:43Speaker 7: That was still maybe the most epic Blacklight poster I'd
- 18:46Speaker 7: ever seen, and it hung in my room for years.
- 18:48Speaker 2: Apparently, he also does commission work for regular black velvet paintings.
- 18:52Speaker 7: So if you'd like to commission him to do a
- 18:54Speaker 7: version of us in Blacklight so we could have our
- 18:56Speaker 7: own show version, I'm assuming this isn't happening. But feel
- 19:00Speaker 7: free to get this ball rolling.
- 19:02Speaker 2: Apparently, he also does tattoo work in Nashville, I think.
- 19:05Speaker 2: I think that's where he's from is Nashville. And from
- 19:08Speaker 2: what I've seen on his Instagram page, it does absolutely
- 19:10Speaker 2: amazing work. I love this guy's art. He's fantastic. I
- 19:14Speaker 2: think his website is onemanriot.com. R-I-E-T. Fantastic shit. Check it out, dude.
- 19:22Speaker 9: One Man Riot.
- 19:23Speaker 2: I love it. Like I said, it was only $ 10
- 19:27Speaker 2: for a black light poster of the Lost Boys. And
- 19:32Speaker 2: it's a small, manageable size, too, so if you don't
- 19:34Speaker 2: have that much room, Much like me, I have this problem.
- 19:37Speaker 2: I have a lot of shit. I have little wall
- 19:38Speaker 2: space left. So this, to me, is the perfect size.
- 19:43Speaker 7: We were discussing this earlier on the car ride, which
- 19:45Speaker 7: is none of us ever want to have to paint again.
- 19:48Speaker 7: So my strategy was for you. keep buying stuff, keep
- 19:51Speaker 7: hanging stuff on the walls. Eventually, you'll cover so much
- 19:54Speaker 7: of the wall, you don't need to paint again because
- 19:56Speaker 7: you'll never see anything behind there.
- 19:58Speaker 9: He does some pretty awesome tattoo work, too.
- 20:00Speaker 2: I told you, right?
- 20:01Speaker 9: Yeah, I'm looking at his tattoo work right now. Some
- 20:05Speaker 9: of it's done in the cutesy style. Some of it's
- 20:07Speaker 9: done in just kind of a normal style.
- 20:09Speaker 2: He had a very graffiti style, too.
- 20:10Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 20:11Speaker 9: But, I mean, his Phantom of the Opera looks fucking awesome.
- 20:17Speaker 2: Totally pimping this guy's stuff.
- 20:18Speaker 9: Really, really good.
- 20:20Speaker 2: He's one of the few people that I was just like,
- 20:23Speaker 2: I don't buy a lot of stuff anymore at conventions.
- 20:27Speaker 2: I usually don't. Yeah, I mean, and I've always liked
- 20:33Speaker 2: Days of the Dead because it's one of those They
- 20:35Speaker 2: have cool stuff. They have great names. But it hasn't...
- 20:38Speaker 2: I don't know if it's just... Hasn't caught on as
- 20:41Speaker 2: well as some of them. Because it never seems... There's
- 20:44Speaker 2: people there. But it's... You're never like, oh my god.
- 20:48Speaker 9: You're not assholes to elbows.
- 20:50Speaker 2: Yeah, because I get very stressed. And I have very
- 20:53Speaker 2: bad anxiety. And at some conventions, I just can't handle.
- 20:56Speaker 2: Because it's just... It's too much.
- 20:59Speaker 9: It's very claustrophobic.
- 21:01Speaker 2: And while, yes, there are... I mean, there was quite
- 21:02Speaker 2: a few people there today. But it seemed manageable and
- 21:05Speaker 2: it didn't seem like it was out of control. They've
- 21:07Speaker 2: always seemed like it's like, I don't know how they
- 21:09Speaker 2: do things different, what they do.
- 21:11Speaker 7: That's what I was going to say. It's also... He
- 21:13Speaker 7: does Black Mask Company.
- 21:16Speaker 9: It's a brainchild of him and steviepmask.com. I've got their
- 21:21Speaker 9: sticker on my fucking welding hood. Yeah, that's who they are.
- 21:26Speaker 7: Yeah, I think that's a big part of it is
- 21:27Speaker 7: like the managing of Everything of the way you lay
- 21:30Speaker 7: it out, the way you set things up, the way
- 21:32Speaker 7: you run the whole show, the way you manage the crowd.
- 21:35Speaker 7: It keeps things from getting out of control, which you keep. Again,
- 21:39Speaker 7: you go to a lot of shows, you see things
- 21:41Speaker 7: done wrong equally as much as you see them right.
- 21:43Speaker 2: You see things done wrong a lot more than you
- 21:46Speaker 2: see things done right.
- 21:47Speaker 7: It's good to see when somebody does it the right way.
- 21:52Speaker 7: Bonus points for that. So we will get back to
- 21:55Speaker 7: the big finale with the other special guest from this event.
- 21:59Speaker 7: But before that, we also haven't heard you on the
- 22:03Speaker 7: show for a little while because you were touring the country.
- 22:06Speaker 2: We went on Grand Adventures.
- 22:08Speaker 7: You had several that have movie tie-ins and other random
- 22:13Speaker 7: Hollywood-related festivities. So do you want to recap some of
- 22:17Speaker 7: your favorite events of your trips?
- 22:19Speaker 2: Oh, it was a grand adventure. It was two and
- 22:22Speaker 2: a half weeks long. My boyfriend likes to say it
- 22:23Speaker 2: was a month. It was two and a half weeks.
- 22:25Speaker 7: It seemed like it was a month. You kept posting
- 22:26Speaker 7: pictures on Facebook. I was just like, I don't think
- 22:29Speaker 7: they're coming back. I think this is just it. We're
- 22:31Speaker 7: just going to get Facebook feed from here on out.
- 22:33Speaker 2: It's weird because when you're in the middle of it,
- 22:35Speaker 2: you're like, this has been moving on forever. But as
- 22:38Speaker 2: soon as you get back, you're like, how did we
- 22:39Speaker 2: ever fucking leave? It was like, was this a fever dream?
- 22:42Speaker 2: Because it was, like I said, it was just, there
- 22:44Speaker 2: was just so much.
- 22:44Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 22:47Speaker 2: The first couple days we didn't really do like a
- 22:49Speaker 2: whole lot that would be like movie geek related we
- 22:51Speaker 2: went to like oklahoma and like hey.
- 22:54Speaker 9: There's a whole movie called oklahoma we got stuck in
- 22:57Speaker 9: a pretty huge rainstorm we got well all the flooding
- 22:59Speaker 9: in oklahoma we got stuck in that almost uh amarillo
- 23:05Speaker 9: smells like cow shit yeah we were in amarillo for
- 23:07Speaker 9: a while visitants of friends uh and then that long
- 23:11Speaker 9: drive from amarillo to vegas.
- 23:14Speaker 2: Um Vegas is always an extravaganza.
- 23:16Speaker 9: Vegas is always Vegas.
- 23:17Speaker 2: It's always an event. It's always....
- 23:20Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 23:20Speaker 2: Again, it's one of those things where I thought it
- 23:23Speaker 2: would be... We've been before, so I knew what to
- 23:26Speaker 2: expect this time. But the first time we went, I
- 23:28Speaker 2: was so prepared to be overwhelmed. And it really wasn't
- 23:31Speaker 2: that bad because the first time we went was off-season.
- 23:34Speaker 2: A little bit more on-season this year. It's a little
- 23:36Speaker 2: bit more stressful. But there's two things that takes me
- 23:40Speaker 2: to Vegas. I could probably do without... I don't care
- 23:42Speaker 2: about the casinos.
- 23:43Speaker 7: Again, most of what's in Vegas, I kind of don't
- 23:46Speaker 7: care about. Of all the places I want to go,
- 23:48Speaker 7: it's pretty far down on the list, except for one
- 23:51Speaker 7: of your things.
- 23:54Speaker 2: The one, we went and saw Penn and Teller again.
- 23:57Speaker 7: I'd go to see Penn and Teller.
- 23:58Speaker 2: I adore Penn and Teller. Usually, I don't care for magicians,
- 24:02Speaker 2: but he juggles, and it's fantastic, and they're so fucking funny,
- 24:05Speaker 2: and he's so delightful, and they still go out after
- 24:08Speaker 2: their shows and take pictures and autograph for everybody who
- 24:11Speaker 2: wants it, which is like Who fucking does that?
- 24:14Speaker 7: Not everybody. Especially not everybody that's reached sort of the
- 24:17Speaker 7: level of fame and success that they have.
- 24:20Speaker 9: They'll stand out there and talk to their fans and
- 24:22Speaker 9: sign autographs until everybody's gotten an autograph.
- 24:26Speaker 10: You know.
- 24:28Speaker 2: They'll be out there.
- 24:29Speaker 7: And Penn has really long arms, so he can take
- 24:31Speaker 7: selfies pretty well.
- 24:31Speaker 2: I know, which is awesome because the first time we went,
- 24:33Speaker 2: he wouldn't do it because that was Teller's thing. Teller
- 24:35Speaker 2: would take the selfies. So he didn't want to be
- 24:37Speaker 2: like Teller. But then he's like, I was listening to
- 24:39Speaker 2: his podcast. That's one of the few podcasts, the only
- 24:41Speaker 2: podcast I listen to.
- 24:42Speaker 7: She's branching out, guys. Look, she's listening to a podcast.
- 24:45Speaker 2: Listening to a podcast. Listening to Penn Sunday School. But
- 24:49Speaker 2: he's decided he has a new autograph. He's changed his autograph,
- 24:52Speaker 2: which apparently threw his whole, like, management team into a
- 24:56Speaker 2: tizzy because you're not allowed to change your autograph when
- 24:58Speaker 2: you've already been in the business for so many fucking years.
- 25:00Speaker 2: But I had to go get his new autograph, and
- 25:02Speaker 2: apparently he's decided he'd like the selfie now, which is
- 25:04Speaker 2: good because he has, like, these, like, ten-foot-long arms. So, yeah,
- 25:08Speaker 2: he took, like, a whole series of, like, progressively closer
- 25:11Speaker 2: and closer until it's just our noses in the photo.
- 25:14Speaker 2: It's just fantastic. And I think I stepped foot in
- 25:18Speaker 2: an actual casino.
- 25:19Speaker 7: That's for the best, really.
- 25:21Speaker 2: I mean, the first time we went, I think I
- 25:23Speaker 2: lost $ 7 to the extent.
- 25:25Speaker 9: Yeah, yeah.
- 25:26Speaker 2: But this time we didn't even walk into a casino,
- 25:28Speaker 2: did we?
- 25:29Speaker 9: No, no, we didn't.
- 25:30Speaker 2: We walked down Fremont Street, which the only reason we
- 25:32Speaker 2: went to Fremont Street pretty much was to go to
- 25:34Speaker 2: Evil Pie.
- 25:36Speaker 7: Which is, again, based on your photos, the greatest place
- 25:39Speaker 7: on Earth.
- 25:39Speaker 2: It's the best. Legit the most delicious pizza I have
- 25:42Speaker 2: ever consumed in my entire life.
- 25:44Speaker 7: I've been oddly obsessed with Evel Knievel most of my life.
- 25:47Speaker 13: Who hasn't?
- 25:48Speaker 7: So, you know, I'm drawn to that as a concept anyway. Plus,
- 25:52Speaker 7: who doesn't love pizza? So, this all sounds like the
- 25:55Speaker 7: best place on Earth. It's good pizza, too.
- 25:57Speaker 2: It's fucking amazing. And like I said, the entire decor
- 26:00Speaker 2: is like 70s, it's mostly 70s Evel Knievel stuff and
- 26:05Speaker 2: Some other random 70s things, but mostly Evil Knievel.
- 26:08Speaker 9: That and skateboard stickers. It's like heavy Evil Knievel, but
- 26:12Speaker 9: it's also heavy skateboard and punk influence, too. So there's
- 26:15Speaker 9: usually punk rock playing on them.
- 26:19Speaker 7: And on a related note, recently I just stumbled upon...
- 26:23Speaker 7: Playing on cable with Eva Knievel. And god damn, I
- 26:26Speaker 7: love that movie.
- 26:27Speaker 2: It's a great movie.
- 26:28Speaker 7: It is so insane and completely ridiculous.
- 26:30Speaker 9: Every time he slaps that kid.
- 26:32Speaker 1: Awesome.
- 26:32Speaker 9: That always cracks me up.
- 26:34Speaker 7: That's the way to kick off the movie, too. First
- 26:36Speaker 7: thing that happens, like, I'm going to go in and
- 26:37Speaker 7: slap this kid. And then he gives him, you know,
- 26:40Speaker 7: toys and money. And, you know, he's a great guy.
- 26:43Speaker 7: But he also likes to smack a kid every once
- 26:44Speaker 7: in a while.
- 26:45Speaker 2: Sometimes you just got to. There's a giant statue. It's
- 26:48Speaker 2: not really a giant. I guess it's a life-size evil
- 26:50Speaker 2: statue in the back of it. And it's just... It's amazing.
- 26:53Speaker 2: Like I said, if it wasn't for Evil Pie and
- 26:58Speaker 2: Penn & Teller, I would have no reason to go to.
- 27:00Speaker 7: So it's two out of two of your reasons, or
- 27:02Speaker 7: maybe the only reasons.
- 27:03Speaker 3: I would go to Vegas.
- 27:05Speaker 2: Oh, you might also... Like I said, Fremont Street is... Well,
- 27:08Speaker 2: and Hooker's.
- 27:10Speaker 7: That's a given, obviously.
- 27:11Speaker 2: But past several brothels. Not in Vegas, but like.
- 27:16Speaker 7: Just on the outskirts of Vegas, where there are no laws. Yeah.
- 27:20Speaker 2: But, yeah, Fremont Street is like a world unto itself.
- 27:24Speaker 2: It's very much the tourist street.
- 27:26Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 27:26Speaker 2: Because it's closed off. You can't drive down it. But
- 27:29Speaker 2: there are circles in the road, and that's where the
- 27:32Speaker 2: entertainers are. And people who go out there in an
- 27:34Speaker 2: attempt to get your money. But they stay in their circle,
- 27:37Speaker 2: and they're not like magicians. We had a fucking mime.
- 27:41Speaker 2: There was half-naked people.
- 27:44Speaker 7: I mean, it's Vegas. Everywhere you go is half-naked people. Yeah.
- 27:47Speaker 2: I mean, there was a girl, she had the whole
- 27:50Speaker 2: nun outfit, but she was topless.
- 27:53Speaker 9: That was about it.
- 27:54Speaker 7: Yeah, it was just a habit. But then she had pasties,
- 27:56Speaker 7: didn't she?
- 27:57Speaker 9: Or did she have electrical tape? I can't remember.
- 28:00Speaker 2: It was some variety of something sticking on her nipples.
- 28:02Speaker 9: Then you had the old lady.
- 28:05Speaker 3: The really old lady.
- 28:08Speaker 7: Yeah, you're selling me.
- 28:09Speaker 4: All right.
- 28:10Speaker 2: I didn't see her.
- 28:11Speaker 9: You didn't see the old lady?
- 28:12Speaker 7: I don't think.
- 28:12Speaker 2: I don't remember. Maybe I blocked it out.
- 28:14Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 28:15Speaker 2: And there was the legless woman who was out, like,
- 28:17Speaker 2: dancing in the street on her arms, trying to get, like,
- 28:19Speaker 2: she was out, again, in her circle.
- 28:21Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 28:21Speaker 2: But, yeah, and there's just some, in every circle, there's somebody.
- 28:24Speaker 2: And I'm not sure how the whole, according to the pen.
- 28:26Speaker 7: There's a magician.
- 28:27Speaker 9: There's a guy who does juggling.
- 28:30Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 28:31Speaker 7: I'm going by your story. So, to clarify, if they
- 28:33Speaker 7: haven't been there, they've painted a circle. How much bigger
- 28:36Speaker 7: than a person is this circle?
- 28:38Speaker 2: I would say if you held your arms out in
- 28:40Speaker 2: both directions.
- 28:41Speaker 9: Yeah, it's probably about... Maybe a four foot radius?
- 28:44Speaker 3: Yeah, four foot radius.
- 28:45Speaker 7: And they're supposed to stay in that circle.
- 28:47Speaker 9: They have to stay in that circle.
- 28:48Speaker 2: I like this.
- 28:49Speaker 7: I like having a force field to keep the weird
- 28:51Speaker 7: characters away from you, but you can still watch and
- 28:53Speaker 7: be entertained if you want to be.
- 28:54Speaker 2: And there's also people that sit there and make the flowers.
- 28:58Speaker 9: Out of corn husks or something like that.
- 29:01Speaker 2: They make baskets and corn flowers.
- 29:03Speaker 9: But then they've got the bars that are right on
- 29:05Speaker 9: the street. So the seats are right there, and then
- 29:08Speaker 9: you've got girls that are dancing on the bar.
- 29:10Speaker 2: They're not in circles.
- 29:11Speaker 7: They're not in circles.
- 29:12Speaker 9: They're on the bar. And then you've got, there's a
- 29:15Speaker 9: couple of.
- 29:17Speaker 2: There's zip lining that goes down the middle of it.
- 29:19Speaker 9: There's zip lining that's going on above your head, and
- 29:21Speaker 9: then there's like three stages. Three stages where they've got
- 29:26Speaker 9: stuff going on. Yeah, sometimes they have concerts.
- 29:29Speaker 2: With really bad music when we were there.
- 29:31Speaker 7: Yeah. Vegas, it's not necessarily the classiest place, but it's something.
- 29:37Speaker 2: It's entertaining, and like I said, it's... I mean, I
- 29:40Speaker 2: think it's, that's where I enjoy. I don't like, I
- 29:42Speaker 2: don't like gambling. It's like walking around and looking at
- 29:44Speaker 2: people and being like, ooh.
- 29:45Speaker 7: Look at that weirdo. And that's what they say about us, too.
- 29:49Speaker 7: So it's fine. It's a give and take.
- 29:51Speaker 2: Like I said, all kinds of stuff just going on
- 29:53Speaker 2: out there. But, yeah, Penn & Teller. Yeah, I can't even...
- 29:59Speaker 2: They've made movies, so that's kind of movie related.
- 30:02Speaker 7: They've definitely made their own movie and then Penn's.
- 30:05Speaker 10: In a lot of stuff.
- 30:05Speaker 7: If you go back, it's weird going back. You'll be like, wait,
- 30:11Speaker 7: is that Penn Jillette? There's just random movies from the
- 30:15Speaker 7: 80s that you're like, hey, that cab driver, is that
- 30:18Speaker 7: Penn Jillette? Just random bit parts that he just was.
- 30:22Speaker 2: Looking for work back in the day. Everybody has their
- 30:24Speaker 2: one weird celebrity crusher they can't really explain. I can
- 30:27Speaker 2: try to explain it, but he juggles.
- 30:29Speaker 7: But just that doesn't clarify for most people probably.
- 30:32Speaker 2: Just yeah to me that's reason enough but uh yeah
- 30:37Speaker 2: he's they're just yeah and.
- 30:40Speaker 7: Actually hear teller talk he doesn't do it in the
- 30:42Speaker 7: show but.
- 30:44Speaker 2: When you're outside he's like talking to everybody yeah.
- 30:46Speaker 7: I mean he he does it's just not part of
- 30:48Speaker 7: the act the part of the act itself is him
- 30:52Speaker 7: not talking so but yeah on the context of their
- 30:55Speaker 7: show now like he's Again, he doesn't talk within the show,
- 30:59Speaker 7: but when people need him to, they're like, go whisper
- 31:02Speaker 7: how your trick works to that guy. And then he
- 31:04Speaker 7: goes over and does it. So you know he does talk,
- 31:07Speaker 7: it's just not part of the act.
- 31:09Speaker 2: Let's see, and then we left Vegas. We were leaving
- 31:13Speaker 2: Las Vegas, which is also a movie tie-in.
- 31:17Speaker 7: I thought we were going to bust into some Sheryl
- 31:19Speaker 7: Crow right now.
- 31:19Speaker 2: Isn't there a leaving Las Vegas movie?
- 31:21Speaker 3: There is.
- 31:22Speaker 7: Do you want to drink to yourself to death? If
- 31:25Speaker 7: you were Nicolas Cage, you would want to drink yourself
- 31:27Speaker 7: to death.
- 31:28Speaker 2: No, not so much. I'm not Nicolas Cage. Thank God!
- 31:31Speaker 8: I'm leaving Las Vegas Life's.
- 31:38Speaker 11: Too bright Pump, sweat, blackjack on a Saturday night I'm leaving.

- 33:57Speaker 5: Lee, we're doing all we can for you.
- 34:00Speaker 7: We're trying to bring you back down to normal size.
- 34:03Speaker 3: You do think I'm a freak, don't you?
- 34:05Speaker 7: But you know, to me, you're the freak.
- 34:07Speaker 9: The one who's different.
- 34:09Speaker 15: I'm not growing.
- 34:10Speaker 10: You're shrinking.
- 34:11Speaker 4: He started as a normal human being.
- 34:16Speaker 9: But now, each day, he doubles in size.
- 34:19Speaker 3: Where will it stop?
- 34:21Speaker 12: The amazing, colossal man.
- 34:25Speaker 7: Colonel, he's been reported in Las Vegas.
- 34:27Speaker 8: Impossible.
- 34:27Speaker 16: How can it walk 120 miles in only an hour?
- 34:30Speaker 3: Impossible?
- 34:30Speaker 6: Not when you're 60 feet tall.
- 34:32Speaker 12: The amazing, colossal man.
- 34:35Speaker 6: In the mood for hot coffee? When you are, nothing
- 34:38Speaker 6: else will satisfy. Coffee has a flavor, an aroma, a
- 34:41Speaker 6: deep-down satisfying goodness all its own. And our coffee has
- 34:45Speaker 6: something extra. The care with which we brew and serve it.
- 34:48Speaker 7: We should have our coffee. I know you like coffee.
- 34:55Speaker 15: Oh my God, is this a segue to something?
- 34:57Speaker 10: What?
- 34:58Speaker 7: You don't want to run out to Heine Brothers right now?
- 35:01Speaker 15: Actually, now that you mention it, I'm drinking some fine
- 35:03Speaker 15: coffee here, but I feel like enjoying a nice hot
- 35:07Speaker 15: cup from my local Heine Brothers might actually be an
- 35:09Speaker 15: even better idea.
- 35:10Speaker 7: Well, really, you don't even have to leave the house.
- 35:12Speaker 7: You could just have it ordered right to your doorstep.
- 35:16Speaker 9: Really?
- 35:16Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 35:17Speaker 15: I can do that now?
- 35:17Speaker 7: It's not just something you can do. You can also
- 35:20Speaker 7: get a deal from your friends at Movie Mountain.
- 35:23Speaker 3: No way. Movie Meltdown? That's the show we're on, right?
- 35:26Speaker 7: Yeah, this one right now.
- 35:27Speaker 3: Oh, that's awesome.
- 35:28Speaker 15: Hey, insert a sound of me kicking over this table
- 35:30Speaker 15: with this substandard coffee.
- 35:33Speaker 17: There.
- 35:33Speaker 3: Right there.
- 35:34Speaker 15: Yeah, you heard it. And then let's run out, jump
- 35:38Speaker 15: in the car, and then screech sound effect as we
- 35:40Speaker 15: head on down to our local Heine Brothers.
- 35:43Speaker 2: There.
- 35:47Speaker 14: Man.
- 35:48Speaker 3: Subtle. Subtle segue.

- 36:48Speaker 13: You better keep listening or I'll have you killed.
- 36:54Speaker 2: It's part of your problem, you know.
- 37:07Speaker 10: You haven't seen enough movies.
- 37:08Speaker 6: All of life's riddles are answered in the movies.
- 37:13Speaker 5: And now, on with the show.
- 38:12Speaker 2: But then from Vegas, we went to L.A.
- 38:15Speaker 7: All right.
- 38:17Speaker 2: Because, I mean, I had one specific purpose. I wanted
- 38:21Speaker 2: to go to Chris Cornell's grave. That was my.
- 38:24Speaker 7: Dreams of how luxurious and lush it's going to be
- 38:27Speaker 7: when you get there. I'm jumping ahead. Go ahead. Continue
- 38:30Speaker 7: with your story.
- 38:31Speaker 2: Because I love Chris Cornell. I mean, my heart still
- 38:38Speaker 2: hurts today. From that one. That one hurt.
- 38:40Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 38:41Speaker 7: That was rough.
- 38:42Speaker 2: That, you know. So I'm like, okay, we're going out
- 38:45Speaker 2: that way. We're going to go to LA. I want
- 38:47Speaker 2: to go to Chris Cornell's grave. And it's like, oh,
- 38:49Speaker 2: you have all these beautiful monuments and you have all
- 38:51Speaker 2: these beautiful, like, the landscaping and all, like, flowers. Then
- 38:57Speaker 2: you get to Chris Cornell's grave. And it's a tiny
- 39:01Speaker 2: headstone about.
- 39:02Speaker 7: It is surprisingly small. Like, I know people who have
- 39:05Speaker 7: bigger headstones than that.
- 39:05Speaker 2: It's like the size of this placemat that we have
- 39:07Speaker 2: right here. This placemat. And then just a big old
- 39:11Speaker 2: rectangle of gravel.
- 39:13Speaker 7: More gravel than I expected, too. Even when you described it,
- 39:16Speaker 7: I thought maybe just the outline of how big a
- 39:19Speaker 7: casket usually is. No, no. It's much bigger than that.
- 39:22Speaker 18: It's like a double double wide yeah he's got a
- 39:25Speaker 18: double wide sure and then like just gravel for no
- 39:29Speaker 18: not even especially really well maintained like yeah not like
- 39:32Speaker 18: artistically put together like there's some sort of reasoning and
- 39:35Speaker 18: aesthetic purpose.
- 39:37Speaker 7: Behind it no i mean maybe he had some reason
- 39:40Speaker 7: did he come up.
- 39:41Speaker 2: With this plan i don't know when i was complaining
- 39:44Speaker 2: to boyfriend about just how fucking depressing it was He
- 39:47Speaker 2: looked it up, and, like, shortly after he was buried,
- 39:50Speaker 2: it was just grass. It was, like, his headstone and grass.
- 39:54Speaker 2: It looked like a regular old headstone. But then, like,
- 39:57Speaker 2: I read a thing about it. They had, like, had to, like,
- 40:00Speaker 2: section it off for a while. Like, people were, like,
- 40:02Speaker 2: they were worried people were going to, like, get into it.
- 40:04Speaker 2: Because there was, like, this whole thing about how maybe.
- 40:07Speaker 7: More conspiracies.
- 40:09Speaker 2: Yeah, which is... This one, actually, if you actually dig
- 40:11Speaker 2: into it, does have a little bit of viability. But
- 40:13Speaker 2: they had to, like, chain it off and, like, so...
- 40:16Speaker 2: But I'm like, first of all, what good is it
- 40:19Speaker 2: going to do to dig him up? He's fucking cremated.
- 40:21Speaker 7: You can't. So you say, but maybe you're part of
- 40:25Speaker 7: the conspiracy.
- 40:26Speaker 2: Anyway, so yeah, we were at the cemetery and then
- 40:29Speaker 2: we're like, well, fuck, we're already here. And I look
- 40:31Speaker 2: over and I'm like, well, fuck, there's Anton Yelchin's right there.
- 40:35Speaker 2: You know, we were in like the celebrity part.
- 40:37Speaker 3: Oh, Anton.
- 40:38Speaker 2: That's one of the most tragic fucking stupid ways to die.
- 40:41Speaker 2: And I'm just because I mean, he was so talented.
- 40:45Speaker 7: Previous episode just going on and on about how awesome
- 40:48Speaker 7: he is in green room and so many other movies.
- 40:51Speaker 2: That was a great movie but yeah that one just
- 40:54Speaker 2: how that's such a fucking stupid way to die that's
- 40:58Speaker 2: not even like i'm just like how that's like really
- 41:01Speaker 2: you get crushed by your own fucking car it kind
- 41:04Speaker 2: of sucks that's so horrible and.
- 41:06Speaker 7: Being as young as he was and as talented as
- 41:08Speaker 7: he was it's like it's such a waste it's yeah
- 41:11Speaker 7: it's a shame.
- 41:12Speaker 2: Yeah he was so just He was so adorable and
- 41:15Speaker 2: just so talented.
- 41:16Speaker 7: And, you know... And has an impressive headstone.
- 41:19Speaker 2: Yeah, he has a fucking life-size fucking bronze statue of himself. Like,
- 41:25Speaker 2: within spitting distance of Chris Cornell's tiny.
- 41:29Speaker 7: Gravel farm.
- 41:31Speaker 2: I'm like, really? You know, it's like, maybe that's just...
- 41:34Speaker 2: I don't know. I mean, he wasn't really an extravagant,
- 41:37Speaker 2: you know. I mean, I don't know Chris Cornell. I
- 41:40Speaker 2: don't know jack shit about him as a person. I
- 41:42Speaker 2: never met the guy. i don't know i mean maybe
- 41:45Speaker 2: we all feel like we do a little bit through
- 41:46Speaker 2: his music but we don't know him but he wasn't
- 41:50Speaker 2: really like a fancy guy no i wouldn't say so
- 41:52Speaker 2: so maybe i could i wouldn't even be okay with
- 41:55Speaker 2: like the small little but the fucking pile of gravel
- 41:59Speaker 2: what the fuck is this i don't know what's going
- 42:02Speaker 2: on with that but then we were trying to like
- 42:04Speaker 2: like findagrave.com trying to figure out who else we can
- 42:08Speaker 2: find and we were like Like, Alfred Hitchcock was supposed to...
- 42:11Speaker 2: I think we found him. My other main goal was
- 42:16Speaker 2: Darren McGavin's there.
- 42:17Speaker 3: Yep, definitely.
- 42:18Speaker 7: Need to see Darren McGavin.
- 42:19Speaker 2: So that one, we were, like, looking at the coordinates,
- 42:21Speaker 2: trying to, like, map our way there. And then we
- 42:24Speaker 2: were trying to find a vampire.
- 42:26Speaker 3: Of course.
- 42:27Speaker 2: And for the life of us, we were kind of like, findagrave.com
- 42:32Speaker 2: does not have her physical location. So I'm like, all right, well,
- 42:35Speaker 2: after we find Darren McGavin... boyfriend's in the car trying
- 42:38Speaker 2: to figure there's very little fucking phone service in the
- 42:42Speaker 2: middle of the cemetery.
- 42:43Speaker 9: Which is weird.
- 42:47Speaker 7: It's like who's.
- 42:47Speaker 2: Making phone calls from there well.
- 42:49Speaker 17: No I mean maybe more than you realize it's not
- 42:53Speaker 17: like we're in a fucking like Bermuda Triangle it's not
- 42:57Speaker 17: like we're surrounded by mountains it's right in the fucking
- 43:01Speaker 17: middle of fucking LA.
- 43:02Speaker 7: Is it a dead zone it.
- 43:05Speaker 2: Apparently is oh yeah nice So yeah, I find Darren McGavin's,
- 43:10Speaker 2: which kind of sucks because the way the sun was
- 43:12Speaker 2: coming down at that point, I couldn't get a good
- 43:13Speaker 2: picture because it was behind the headstone. But Darren McGavin's
- 43:17Speaker 2: a fucking icon. You can't not go to his.
- 43:20Speaker 7: He's amazing.
- 43:20Speaker 2: He is. So as I'm going back to the car,
- 43:23Speaker 2: I'm like, oh shit, there's a vampire right there.
- 43:26Speaker 7: It gives me a little comfort to know they're hanging
- 43:28Speaker 7: out together.
- 43:29Speaker 2: Were they friends in the real world?
- 43:31Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 43:32Speaker 7: I don't know, but they seem like, you know, the
- 43:34Speaker 7: Night Stalkers hanging out with Vampyr. It seems all right.
- 43:37Speaker 7: It seems like it all goes together.
- 43:38Speaker 2: And like, if you're standing at Chris's pile of rocks,
- 43:41Speaker 2: they're like diagonal to the left-hand side is Toto. So
- 43:45Speaker 2: you can see Toto.
- 43:46Speaker 7: That seems good, too. We all need Toto hanging out.
- 43:48Speaker 2: Like, if you're facing, like, the road, there's Toto here.
- 43:51Speaker 2: If you're facing the lake, because there's a lake on
- 43:53Speaker 2: the other side, that's where Anton is. Anton's also facing
- 43:56Speaker 2: the lake. But then we found Judy Garland.
- 44:00Speaker 7: Is he skipping rocks? He's got a whole supply of
- 44:02Speaker 7: them right there.
- 44:04Speaker 2: Dude, seriously.
- 44:06Speaker 7: Judy Garland.
- 44:08Speaker 2: You can't skip gravel rocks. They're not flat. They're just gravel.
- 44:12Speaker 7: Anton's pretty talented.
- 44:13Speaker 8: He was talented.
- 44:14Speaker 2: He could probably make it work. Him and Chris probably
- 44:16Speaker 2: could have worked on that a little bit together. Maybe
- 44:18Speaker 2: they're all hanging out. We found Judy Garland. She's in
- 44:20Speaker 2: the mausoleum. There's a lot of mausoleums.
- 44:25Speaker 7: Get me one of them mausoleums.
- 44:27Speaker 2: I can't remember. We saw Cecil B. Demented.
- 44:29Speaker 7: I mean, I was just discussing John Waters earlier. So,
- 44:34Speaker 7: you know, it's usually the way I process it now.
- 44:37Speaker 7: But Cecil B. DeMille is also very awesome and groundbreaking.
- 44:41Speaker 7: And I'm not trying to.
- 44:42Speaker 2: Be disrespectful about Chris's pile of rocks. I'm just very confused.
- 44:46Speaker 7: Again, if it had a specific reason, if it was
- 44:49Speaker 7: something that he, like, specifically laid out beforehand that, like,
- 44:52Speaker 7: you know, when I die and this is, you know,
- 44:54Speaker 7: some sort of meaning that it has to me, like,
- 44:56Speaker 7: it'd be fine, I guess. But since, like, even you're
- 44:58Speaker 7: a fan and you don't know anything about that, I
- 45:00Speaker 7: don't know. It seems like if you put it out
- 45:02Speaker 7: there more to the fans, it wouldn't be such a
- 45:04Speaker 7: weird question that it's allowed.
- 45:06Speaker 2: Maybe I'm specifically a fan of the music. I don't
- 45:09Speaker 2: know the guy. You know, I don't know what his
- 45:12Speaker 2: personal request would have been.
- 45:14Speaker 9: Yeah, you know, I mean, maybe he just didn't want
- 45:16Speaker 9: anything big.
- 45:18Speaker 2: But even still, if it had just been, like, grass,
- 45:20Speaker 2: I would have been okay with it.
- 45:23Speaker 9: I don't know why they put gravel down there.
- 45:25Speaker 7: I have no idea.
- 45:27Speaker 9: It was kind of odd, but when we looked it up,
- 45:32Speaker 9: they had grass there at one point. And at one point,
- 45:35Speaker 9: they had all kinds of stuff around his gravestone. Like flowers. Flowers,
- 45:40Speaker 9: a guitar, all kinds of stuff. And then when we went,
- 45:44Speaker 9: it was just maybe they were cleaning stuff up.
- 45:46Speaker 13: I don't know.
- 45:47Speaker 9: You never know. I mean, his wasn't as extravagant as Yeltsin's.
- 45:51Speaker 2: Anton.
- 45:52Speaker 9: Anton Yelchin.
- 45:53Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 45:54Speaker 9: And it definitely wasn't as extravagant as, which Ramone was that?
- 46:00Speaker 7: Was it Dee Dee? No. Dee Dee?
- 46:02Speaker 3: Jody?
- 46:02Speaker 2: Dee Dee?
- 46:03Speaker 4: Joey?
- 46:03Speaker 2: Joey?
- 46:05Speaker 9: Hold on.
- 46:08Speaker 2: Yeah, because like also like.
- 46:10Speaker 9: Right next to him.
- 46:11Speaker 2: Not right next, I'd say like maybe 20 feet away.
- 46:13Speaker 9: Well, yeah, you couldn't see it because it looked like
- 46:15Speaker 9: it was right next to him.
- 46:17Speaker 7: But yeah.
- 46:17Speaker 9: It was so fucking huge.
- 46:20Speaker 2: But who else did we see? Who else's headstones? Did
- 46:22Speaker 2: we see anybody else's?
- 46:23Speaker 9: Johnny Ramone. Johnny Ramone's.
- 46:27Speaker 7: Fucking huge.
- 46:29Speaker 9: It's like life-size.
- 46:30Speaker 7: So he's a neighbor to Chris Cornell.
- 46:33Speaker 2: Yeah, he's life-size from the thighs up, but fucking Anton
- 46:36Speaker 2: Yelchin's the entire body. And it looks good.
- 46:40Speaker 7: You know?
- 46:41Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 46:41Speaker 2: I mean, again, because he died young. So, I mean,
- 46:43Speaker 2: you get to have a good looking bust when you're,
- 46:45Speaker 2: you know. That's so fucking sad. But then after we
- 46:49Speaker 2: left there, I had to do like the nerdy stuff
- 46:52Speaker 2: because we were in L.A. So, God damn it, I'm
- 46:54Speaker 2: going to go to where Guns N' Roses film their shit.
- 46:56Speaker 2: You know, I'm going to go to the fucking corner
- 46:58Speaker 2: where Axl gets off the fucking bus.
- 47:00Speaker 12: Wait a minute.
- 47:00Speaker 9: Now, where do we have dinner first?
- 47:02Speaker 2: Well, I was going to get the Guns N' Roses
- 47:04Speaker 2: stuff covered first and then work my way through other
- 47:06Speaker 2: stuff we did.
- 47:06Speaker 11: Okay, okay.
- 47:08Speaker 2: The corner where Axel gets off the bus in Welcome
- 47:10Speaker 2: to the Jungle. Because I mean, that was, I had
- 47:12Speaker 2: already been thinking of that one. But I mean, because
- 47:15Speaker 2: my original plan when I was 12 years old was
- 47:17Speaker 2: I was going to go to LA, marry Axel Rose,
- 47:19Speaker 2: we were going to eat food at the fucking Rainbow,
- 47:22Speaker 2: because it's in all, not in all their videos, but
- 47:23Speaker 2: it's in several of their videos, and it's like a
- 47:25Speaker 2: big place, you know, where they hung out there and
- 47:29Speaker 2: all that. So yeah, we went to the corner where
- 47:31Speaker 2: Axel got off the goddamn bus in the very opening
- 47:34Speaker 2: scene of Welcome to the Jungle, right across, like, like,
- 47:37Speaker 2: here's the corner, like, right across the street, is in
- 47:39Speaker 2: the video, also, Welcome to the Jungle, where Slash is, like,
- 47:42Speaker 2: kind of passed out, sitting on the, like, street in
- 47:45Speaker 2: front of, like, the glass front store that has all
- 47:48Speaker 2: the TVs. Did you see the picture I posted of him?
- 47:51Speaker 7: Probably.
- 47:52Speaker 2: Anyway, so, yeah, there's, now it's, like, a vintage clothing store, and, like,
- 47:56Speaker 2: the TVs are gone. Like, how are you not, like,
- 47:59Speaker 2: you could, like, that should be, like, promotion right there.
- 48:03Speaker 10: You know?
- 48:04Speaker 2: So, yeah. I sat in the same vicinity that Slash
- 48:07Speaker 2: sat while he was passed out.
- 48:09Speaker 7: As you got over there, did you have, like, a
- 48:11Speaker 7: piece of straw in your mouth? I did not.
- 48:16Speaker 2: They don't have straw in L.A., and I didn't bring
- 48:18Speaker 2: it with me from Indiana.
- 48:18Speaker 7: You'd have to be riding in on the bus with it.
- 48:20Speaker 2: I mean, all, like, the bench is different, and, like,
- 48:24Speaker 2: the street signs are different, but it's the same, you know,
- 48:27Speaker 2: it's the same fucking corner.
- 48:28Speaker 7: Spirit of Axel is everywhere, man.
- 48:30Speaker 10: So, yeah.
- 48:31Speaker 2: Earlier that evening, we did eat at the Rainbow Barn Grill,
- 48:33Speaker 2: which is the most expensive fucking grilled cheese sandwich I've
- 48:36Speaker 2: ever eaten in my entire life.
- 48:38Speaker 7: But was it that good?
- 48:39Speaker 2: It was okay. I mean, literally, for, like, I had
- 48:42Speaker 2: a grilled cheese sandwich as far as you had what?
- 48:46Speaker 7: I think I had a turkey sandwich.
- 48:47Speaker 9: I had a club.
- 48:49Speaker 3: Didn't I?
- 48:51Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 48:51Speaker 2: It was over $ 50.
- 48:52Speaker 3: Jesus.
- 48:56Speaker 7: And this didn't come with, like.
- 49:00Speaker 2: I didn't get a lap dance from Axl Ernie.
- 49:01Speaker 7: Gold or sexual favors or anything else that came with it?
- 49:04Speaker 7: You already passed it in Las Vegas.
- 49:06Speaker 2: It was an $ 11 bar fee. I had, like, a
- 49:09Speaker 2: fucking Coke. Why am I getting charged a bar fee?
- 49:11Speaker 9: Because you didn't drink.
- 49:13Speaker 2: Is that how it works?
- 49:13Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 49:14Speaker 2: I mean, the place was cool as shit to be
- 49:15Speaker 2: in there. It was dark like a fucking cave. it
- 49:17Speaker 2: was red like most of the lights were red and
- 49:19Speaker 2: there was just like the walls were covered in pictures
- 49:22Speaker 2: of like celebrities and.
- 49:23Speaker 9: Like tiny booths and stuff like that it.
- 49:26Speaker 2: Was it was just but it was a fucking rock
- 49:28Speaker 2: star place you know definitely a rock star place But yeah,
- 49:32Speaker 2: so I was like, that was part of my thing.
- 49:33Speaker 2: I wanted to go. I wanted to eat. I was like,
- 49:36Speaker 2: we're going to LA. We're going to do Guns N'
- 49:37Speaker 2: Roses things. We're going to go to the fucking Rainbow
- 49:39Speaker 2: Bar and Girl. I'm going to go see the Whiskey
- 49:41Speaker 2: A Go-Go. I didn't go in there because their shirts
- 49:44Speaker 2: were stupid. We went by the Roxy, you know, went
- 49:48Speaker 2: to the Troubadour. Again, I walked in long enough to
- 49:50Speaker 2: buy a shirt there because at least the Troubadour, I
- 49:53Speaker 2: got to at least go buy a shirt. It was
- 49:54Speaker 2: like 20 bucks. You can't fucking hardly buy a t-shirt
- 49:56Speaker 2: for 20 bucks anymore. But, uh, their shirts were cool. But,
- 50:00Speaker 2: you know, like, the basic rock star things, you know,
- 50:02Speaker 2: and all the, you know, like, hardcore Guns N' Roses
- 50:06Speaker 2: nerd fan things. And then, uh, somewhat tied to other
- 50:10Speaker 2: movie nerd things, Corin Nemec, who I adore more than
- 50:16Speaker 2: most people.
- 50:18Speaker 7: If you're not one of those people, go look him up.
- 50:22Speaker 7: Figure out what he was in.
- 50:23Speaker 2: He's fucking Parker Lewis. Parker Lewis can't lose.
- 50:27Speaker 7: You might be following him on Instagram.
- 50:29Speaker 8: Who knows?
- 50:30Speaker 2: He is one of the most entertaining Instagrams. He is
- 50:32Speaker 2: such a nerd. He's always posting little cartoon emojis of himself.
- 50:35Speaker 2: He's got his dog. He's a cool dude. But apparently
- 50:41Speaker 2: he does graffiti. so i messaged him on the twitter
- 50:45Speaker 2: i didn't i posted on his page i'm just like
- 50:46Speaker 2: dude i'm gonna be in la i'm a fan i
- 50:48Speaker 2: just want to delete you know where where could i
- 50:50Speaker 2: see your art while i'm in town i'm just you
- 50:54Speaker 2: know i'm a big nerd pretty much so he like
- 50:57Speaker 2: messaged me back he's like well it's here and here
- 50:59Speaker 2: you know i guess like he just gave me like
- 51:00Speaker 2: i mean i'm sure there's more locations of it out
- 51:02Speaker 2: there but i guess he gave me like a well
- 51:05Speaker 2: this is like within a block of each other so
- 51:08Speaker 2: He didn't have me running all over town. He gave
- 51:10Speaker 2: me a very easy locale. It's right off Melrose or something.
- 51:13Speaker 2: I went there and my boyfriend dropped me off on
- 51:16Speaker 2: the middle of the street and I had to walk
- 51:17Speaker 2: down alleys in LA by myself.
- 51:20Speaker 9: You're not that dangerous.
- 51:21Speaker 2: You don't know you weren't there.
- 51:23Speaker 9: I went behind a couple of the alleys.
- 51:25Speaker 7: It must be dangerous. There's graffiti.
- 51:28Speaker 3: Oh, my.
- 51:29Speaker 9: It's like the highlands.
- 51:31Speaker 7: Someone will snatch my purse.
- 51:32Speaker 3: It's the highlands.
- 51:34Speaker 2: I probably left my purse in the car. I might
- 51:36Speaker 2: have had my phone on me this time.
- 51:37Speaker 7: Were you clutching your pearls the whole time?
- 51:40Speaker 2: Because when your boyfriend drops you off on the corner of, like,
- 51:42Speaker 2: Sunset in the middle of L.A. and you forget your
- 51:44Speaker 2: phone in the car, that is a real fucking, oh,
- 51:46Speaker 2: my God, I'm going to shit myself moment. Because you're like,
- 51:48Speaker 2: I'm going to die.
- 51:49Speaker 9: Because I went to call her and the fucking phone
- 51:51Speaker 9: rings in my glove box. And I sat there and
- 51:54Speaker 9: I shook my head. I was like, you've got to
- 51:55Speaker 9: be fucking kidding me. Out of all the places to
- 51:59Speaker 9: fucking forget your phone in the middle of goddamn L.A. So, luckily,
- 52:03Speaker 9: I circle around the block and park and my car
- 52:06Speaker 9: is not too hard to see, so.
- 52:07Speaker 2: I just stood where you dropped me. I'm like, eventually
- 52:11Speaker 2: he'll come back to where I am.
- 52:12Speaker 7: I waited.
- 52:13Speaker 9: Luckily, I've got a pretty decent sense of direction.
- 52:17Speaker 7: Luckily, some guy came up and was like, hey, you
- 52:20Speaker 7: new in town? He was like, I got some change.
- 52:23Speaker 2: I got some change. If I had some more change,
- 52:26Speaker 2: I could buy me a cheeseburger.
- 52:29Speaker 7: That is actually what you heard.
- 52:30Speaker 2: That's the most panhandled I got in all of L.A.
- 52:34Speaker 7: Which is good because I get more than that here.
- 52:36Speaker 2: A very vague, hey, if you got some change, I
- 52:39Speaker 2: could get me a cheeseburger. Considering the amount of homeless
- 52:44Speaker 2: people we saw and the amount of tents of homeless people, yeah,
- 52:47Speaker 2: we didn't get any.
- 52:48Speaker 9: It's pretty sad out there. They've got a pretty big
- 52:51Speaker 9: homeless epidemic going on. And a lot of it's like.
- 52:54Speaker 9: A lot of it's like kids, like teenagers. Again, that's the.
- 52:58Speaker 7: Dream of every kid.
- 52:59Speaker 16: I'm going to move to Hollywood and be a big star.
- 53:01Speaker 16: Or OD on the street. 98% of those kids are
- 53:05Speaker 16: not the ones that become big stars. There's like a
- 53:07Speaker 16: little fraction that go get regular jobs and just, it sucks.
- 53:11Speaker 7: And now I live here.
- 53:11Speaker 14: Oh, well.
- 53:12Speaker 7: And then the rest of them are out in tents
- 53:14Speaker 7: on the side of the road.
- 53:15Speaker 9: Or like you said, OD in the street. Or OD
- 53:17Speaker 9: in the street, which is what we saw.
- 53:19Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 53:20Speaker 2: I didn't have my body poking sticks, so I was
- 53:22Speaker 2: not prepared.
- 53:23Speaker 13: Uh-oh.
- 53:24Speaker 7: Why did you leave the house without your body tokens?
- 53:26Speaker 9: You know, we don't know if they were dead or not.
- 53:28Speaker 9: But chances are they probably were pretty close. I'm pretty
- 53:31Speaker 9: sure they got Narcan'd.
- 53:32Speaker 2: Yeah, because we were walking to the boyfriend's dinner. And
- 53:35Speaker 2: as we're walking down the street in Chinatown in L.A., like,
- 53:38Speaker 2: here comes, like, at least two ambulances coming towards us.
- 53:42Speaker 7: I'm like, oh.
- 53:43Speaker 9: That person was sitting on the sidewalk when we walked
- 53:46Speaker 9: past them. And they were not moving. And then we
- 53:49Speaker 9: came back and they were still not moving. And they
- 53:52Speaker 9: called the ambulance.
- 53:52Speaker 7: The ambulance was... I don't know.
- 53:55Speaker 9: Did they move when the... I don't know.
- 53:57Speaker 2: By then the crowd got too thick so I couldn't
- 53:58Speaker 2: really see. And then you were wanting your rice. So
- 54:00Speaker 2: we kind of like, well, food first. But yeah, back
- 54:04Speaker 2: to what I was talking about. Corin Nemec and his...
- 54:09Speaker 2: For an actor doing graffiti, it was pretty.
- 54:11Speaker 7: Yeah, you showed me pictures. It's surprisingly well done. In general,
- 54:16Speaker 7: when I see, mostly in our town where People just, like,
- 54:19Speaker 7: spray some random lines and pretend like they're a graffiti artist.
- 54:22Speaker 7: And it's sad. That's my thing. I'm like, if you
- 54:24Speaker 7: want to do graffiti, that's fine, but at least be good. Like,
- 54:28Speaker 7: get some practice in and go, like, actually put something
- 54:31Speaker 7: good up, which is what his are. Like, his are
- 54:33Speaker 7: really well done.
- 54:34Speaker 9: A lot of the art over there was full-on just
- 54:38Speaker 9: fucking mind-blowing graffiti.
- 54:40Speaker 2: And his is, like, it's in the alley. It's on
- 54:43Speaker 2: the back of, like, there's a couple stores that his, like,
- 54:46Speaker 2: I don't remember the name of his, where he told
- 54:48Speaker 2: me the name of the place where it was. But
- 54:50Speaker 2: like I said, the art itself was amazing. Most of
- 54:53Speaker 2: it was off Melrose.
- 54:54Speaker 9: Yeah, two of them were off Melrose.
- 54:56Speaker 2: I'm sure.
- 54:57Speaker 9: Was that the only two we went to go see
- 54:58Speaker 9: were the two off Melrose?
- 54:59Speaker 2: It was behind American Vintage on Curson and Melrose and
- 55:02Speaker 2: behind Posers on Melrose near Vista. That's what he texted.
- 55:05Speaker 2: That's what he messaged me.
- 55:06Speaker 7: She's reading her tweet from Coronemic, so be jealous. He
- 55:11Speaker 7: tweeted right at her.
- 55:12Speaker 2: Yeah, directly at my name. But apparently his street tag name,
- 55:16Speaker 2: because apparently he doesn't sign them with his name, obviously.
- 55:19Speaker 3: Nobody does.
- 55:19Speaker 9: I'm Parker Lewis.
- 55:22Speaker 2: But his name's like Pike or something. So if you
- 55:24Speaker 2: see any Pike graffiti.
- 55:25Speaker 9: Piker Lewis.
- 55:30Speaker 2: But yeah, so what else? Did we do anything else
- 55:32Speaker 2: in LA?
- 55:34Speaker 9: We tried to get next to the Hollywood sign and
- 55:36Speaker 9: realized that you can't get anywhere even close to the
- 55:38Speaker 9: Hollywood sign.
- 55:40Speaker 2: Tried to go up to the observatory, but you have
- 55:41Speaker 2: to pay like $ 8 to park, and I'm just like.
- 55:43Speaker 9: Okay, parking, if you've never been to LA, parking is
- 55:46Speaker 9: fucking goddamn ridiculous.
- 55:48Speaker 7: Here's a big surprise. Traffic sucks, parking non-existent. So, yeah,
- 55:51Speaker 7: you never saw that coming.
- 55:53Speaker 9: Yeah, well, you know, the traffic was bad, but it
- 55:56Speaker 9: wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.
- 55:59Speaker 9: I thought it was going to be a lot worse
- 56:01Speaker 9: than what it was. But when you've driven in Bangkok traffic,
- 56:06Speaker 9: everything is not as bad as Bangkok traffic.
- 56:09Speaker 2: Did we do anything else in LA? We did the Velveteria.
- 56:12Speaker 9: Yes, we did the Velveteria.
- 56:14Speaker 7: That's very fitting for, again, for people who know our taste.
- 56:19Speaker 2: We saw Lucy.
- 56:20Speaker 9: Yeah, we looked down and there's Lucy.
- 56:21Speaker 7: Lucy is on display. Again, if you're listening over many
- 56:26Speaker 7: years now, you know Lucy. She's a legend in her
- 56:30Speaker 7: own right. This guy had a big framed face.
- 56:32Speaker 2: Picture talking about like the harry dean stanton fest yeah
- 56:36Speaker 2: and there's lucy sitting there and i'm.
- 56:37Speaker 7: Just like a couple of years ago yeah if you
- 56:40Speaker 7: went to harry dean stanton fest in the kentucky theater
- 56:43Speaker 7: where they have it every year the whole lobby was
- 56:45Speaker 7: set up as a show of nothing but black velvet
- 56:48Speaker 7: paintings of harry dean stanton and all these different roles
- 56:51Speaker 7: or just him and his personal life and like They
- 56:53Speaker 7: were amazing, and it was awesome, and who doesn't want
- 56:55Speaker 7: a black velvet painting of Harry Dean Stanton?
- 56:57Speaker 2: Because this guy had several of them at the Velvet Trophy.
- 56:59Speaker 2: It's the same guy who brought them.
- 57:01Speaker 7: Yeah, he pretty much got all the artists, I guess,
- 57:03Speaker 7: I mean, there might have been, I think there was
- 57:05Speaker 7: at least somebody from the area that had done a
- 57:07Speaker 7: few of them, but a lot of them, this guy
- 57:09Speaker 7: came from LA, where he runs this entire museum of
- 57:12Speaker 7: black velvet paintings.
- 57:13Speaker 2: Oh, it was so delightful.
- 57:14Speaker 7: And set up the whole thing for, yeah, for when
- 57:17Speaker 7: Lucy did the show there.
- 57:18Speaker 9: He didn't have all of his stuff out. He has
- 57:21Speaker 9: a vast collection of velvet paintings but because the space
- 57:26Speaker 9: he's in he's in chinatown uh it's a.
- 57:29Speaker 2: Much smaller place than what he had moved from he
- 57:31Speaker 2: had like a larger place so like when you walk
- 57:33Speaker 2: in there's like literally.
- 57:34Speaker 17: Like you have to like you can like just stack
- 57:36Speaker 17: something like go flip through the paintings.
- 57:38Speaker 9: Yeah yeah he's got him kind of i've.
- 57:40Speaker 7: Kind of wondered like looking at his photos because he
- 57:43Speaker 7: always has new stuff coming in and new specific themed
- 57:46Speaker 7: shows and i'm like If he's still keeping them every time, like,
- 57:49Speaker 7: where are they going? Like, there's only so much.
- 57:52Speaker 9: He's got a warehouse or something. You'd have to, yeah.
- 57:53Speaker 9: He says he kind of cycles through stuff. He takes
- 57:56Speaker 9: things off the wall and puts them up.
- 57:57Speaker 3: And stuff like that.
- 57:58Speaker 2: And he will tell stories. And he's interesting. He was
- 58:02Speaker 2: an interesting guy.
- 58:02Speaker 7: Yeah, he's an interesting guy. So, what's that called again?
- 58:05Speaker 2: That's the Velveteria.
- 58:06Speaker 7: So, definitely go hit that up.
- 58:08Speaker 2: We also hit up the, do you have any more
- 58:10Speaker 2: to add about the Velveteria? Oh, no.
- 58:13Speaker 9: We hit up Chinatown and we hit up Little Tokyo.
- 58:16Speaker 2: Oh.
- 58:17Speaker 3: And what?
- 58:18Speaker 2: The Museum of Death.
- 58:19Speaker 9: The Museum of Death. Yeah, we went to the Museum
- 58:22Speaker 9: of Death on my birthday.
- 58:23Speaker 7: That seems fitting, sure.
- 58:26Speaker 9: So, that's pretty awesome. They don't really let you take
- 58:29Speaker 9: pictures there, so no pictures of the Museum of Death.
- 58:33Speaker 7: Just know there was death.
- 58:34Speaker 2: Lots of it.
- 58:35Speaker 9: And a museum of it.
- 58:36Speaker 2: Well, because when you first walk in, you have the
- 58:38Speaker 2: serial killer room, which has a lot of memorabilia and collections.
- 58:42Speaker 2: letters scattered throughout the place there's like letters and like.
- 58:46Speaker 9: Artwork that they've sent um and then that kind of
- 58:49Speaker 9: leads into an area of uh executions where.
- 58:52Speaker 2: They have video like live third world live obviously but
- 58:55Speaker 2: like yeah they have running video.
- 58:57Speaker 9: Of like like third world executions.
- 59:00Speaker 2: And it's not fucking around they are fucking brutal well.
- 59:04Speaker 9: I mean it's life. That's what happens in other countries.
- 59:08Speaker 9: But don't go in.
- 59:09Speaker 2: There thinking they're going to sugarcoat it.
- 59:10Speaker 7: In any way.
- 59:11Speaker 2: No.
- 59:11Speaker 9: Well, you know, here's the thing. You know, we live
- 59:14Speaker 9: in a very sheltered country. So you get to see
- 59:19Speaker 9: how things really go on in other countries where people
- 59:22Speaker 9: get dragged out in the middle of the street, stripped
- 59:24Speaker 9: naked and stoned to death with large rocks. Or they
- 59:28Speaker 9: get their heads cut off. or their hands cut off,
- 59:31Speaker 9: or get shot in front of a big group of people.
- 59:35Speaker 9: That's shocking to us. Well, some of us. But it's
- 59:40Speaker 9: kind of an everyday occurrence for some people.
- 59:43Speaker 7: Depending on where you are.
- 59:44Speaker 9: Depending on where you're from. It's kind of not very uncommon.
- 59:50Speaker 9: But then it goes into the autopsy room.
- 59:53Speaker 2: Which, I mean, I watch a lot of stuff, and
- 59:55Speaker 2: it takes a lot to make me kind of like, Yeah.
- 59:58Speaker 9: Misty kind of was like, alright, alright.
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: They're showing live... Again, I keep wanting to say live.
- 1:00:04Speaker 2: They're showing actual footage of.
- 1:00:06Speaker 9: They're like autopsy videos.
- 1:00:09Speaker 7: How do they do them?
- 1:00:11Speaker 2: Instructional videos.
- 1:00:12Speaker 9: Yeah, it's like instructional videos on autopsies.
- 1:00:15Speaker 2: I could not do that.
- 1:00:16Speaker 9: Cut people open, pulling out their organs.
- 1:00:18Speaker 2: Plugging up orifices.
- 1:00:21Speaker 7: Sometimes, these are things you gotta do.
- 1:00:23Speaker 2: All the.
- 1:00:25Speaker 2: Like, everything else doesn't bother me. Like, the tools and, like,
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: the equipment.
- 1:00:29Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:00:29Speaker 2: But when you actually see it, I'm just like, okay.
- 1:00:31Speaker 9: Because that's, yeah, you're like, well, yeah, you're like, oh,
- 1:00:33Speaker 9: that's actually, that was a person.
- 1:00:35Speaker 2: You know, and that's, I don't know. I guess I'm
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: so used to, like. What you're seeing is a reenactment.
- 1:00:44Speaker 7: Again, we watch tons of horror movies. When you know
- 1:00:47Speaker 7: it's special effects and sometimes you're like, oh, that.
- 1:00:50Speaker 4: Looks super realistic.
- 1:00:51Speaker 7: But when it is real, it changes the game.
- 1:00:54Speaker 2: We see faces actually getting peeled.
- 1:00:56Speaker 7: And I'm just like, whoa. It's a little different.
- 1:00:59Speaker 2: It takes a lot to get me to that. I
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: wasn't like, oh my god, I'm going to throw up.
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: I'm just like, okay, I'm going to go to the
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: next part. I can look at this case over here.
- 1:01:07Speaker 9: I think the biggest thing is just how rough they
- 1:01:09Speaker 9: are with the damn body. I'm like, I mean, you're dead,
- 1:01:13Speaker 9: of course.
- 1:01:13Speaker 2: You gotta work this elbow and you gotta work this.
- 1:01:16Speaker 9: Holy shit, man. They're rolling them over and, you know,
- 1:01:21Speaker 9: I was like, damn.
- 1:01:23Speaker 10: All right.
- 1:01:23Speaker 9: Well, you know what? Just fucking cremate me because I
- 1:01:26Speaker 9: don't want any of that shit.
- 1:01:27Speaker 2: But yeah, and then it goes into like a lot
- 1:01:28Speaker 2: of like, again, a lot of the. You know, more
- 1:01:32Speaker 2: things that happen in other countries. And, like, you end
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: up with the section that's all drinking the Kool-Aid.
- 1:01:41Speaker 10: Oh, the Jim Jones.
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: You end up with that, and you end up with
- 1:01:43Speaker 2: the others. The whole room that's, like, devoted to the.
- 1:01:46Speaker 9: Manson family.
- 1:01:47Speaker 8: No.
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: The Nike people.
- 1:01:51Speaker 3: Oh, yeah.
- 1:01:52Speaker 9: The Branch Davidians.
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:01:54Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 1:01:55Speaker 7: Brought to you by Nike.
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: Well, because they have, like, this whole display room set
- 1:01:58Speaker 2: up that it's, like, two bunk beds with, like.
- 1:02:01Speaker 7: People all.
- 1:02:01Speaker 9: Dressed in the actual, I don't know if it was
- 1:02:04Speaker 9: the actual clothing.
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: I think some of it was.
- 1:02:07Speaker 9: They've got, I'll tell you what, the Museum of Death's
- 1:02:09Speaker 9: got a lot of actual stuff. Just right offhand that
- 1:02:15Speaker 9: I can think right now, the lead singer for Christian Death,
- 1:02:21Speaker 9: which I cannot remember his damn name.
- 1:02:23Speaker 7: What is his name?
- 1:02:24Speaker 2: Because they had like a whole section devoted to him. Yeah.
- 1:02:27Speaker 2: Which we tried to find him at the graveyard, but
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: he was in one of the mausoleums that was locked
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: up because we got there kind of late.
- 1:02:32Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 1:02:33Speaker 2: Roz Williams.
- 1:02:34Speaker 7: Roz Williams.
- 1:02:35Speaker 8: Okay.
- 1:02:36Speaker 7: So, I don't know.
- 1:02:39Speaker 9: I guess he was friends with the guys who ran
- 1:02:43Speaker 9: the Museum of Death, but they actually have like the
- 1:02:47Speaker 9: cabinet door handle that he hung himself off of and
- 1:02:52Speaker 9: I mean, they've got.
- 1:02:55Speaker 9: Shit.
- 1:02:57Speaker 7: G.G.
- 1:02:57Speaker 3: Allen.
- 1:02:58Speaker 9: They've got a lot of G.G. Allen shit.
- 1:03:00Speaker 2: They had the clothes he was like.
- 1:03:01Speaker 3: He was.
- 1:03:01Speaker 9: Wearing when he died, yeah. So, they have... Apparently, he
- 1:03:07Speaker 9: was friends with them, too. So, they've got a lot
- 1:03:09Speaker 9: of his stuff.
- 1:03:10Speaker 7: So, the moral is, don't be friends with these guys.
- 1:03:13Speaker 9: Well, I think they had already... We're like, well, we're
- 1:03:16Speaker 9: going to donate our stuff once we kick off, you know? So,
- 1:03:19Speaker 9: you guys get it all.
- 1:03:20Speaker 2: It was just... Like I said, there was a lot
- 1:03:21Speaker 2: of letters from serial killers, like people, like Jeffrey Dahmer,
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: you know. I don't think it was somebody who actually,
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: it was some lady he was writing to about how
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: her letters was the only thing that got him through
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: the day, you know. And I'm just like, I didn't
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: save you from that guy or beat the shit out
- 1:03:39Speaker 2: of you today.
- 1:03:40Speaker 10: No.
- 1:03:40Speaker 7: Jeffrey was a complicated dude.
- 1:03:42Speaker 2: But, yeah, they had letters, they had art, and there's
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: just so much stuff. They had a whole room devoted
- 1:03:48Speaker 2: to Manson.
- 1:03:48Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:03:49Speaker 2: Some of his art and stuff like that, and stuff
- 1:03:51Speaker 2: that he had made, and some of the, like, there
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: was this huge quilt on the wall. Boyfriend walked by it, like.
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: Several times.
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: He's like, oh, well, it's got swastikas on it.
- 1:03:59Speaker 8: Jesus.
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: Because it was made by the girls.
- 1:04:04Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: And they're just like, I didn't realize there were swastikas
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: all over it. And I'm like.
- 1:04:09Speaker 9: Well, I mean, when you're right up close to it,
- 1:04:11Speaker 9: you don't really see it until you back up. They
- 1:04:15Speaker 9: had some stuff on the Black Dahlia murder.
- 1:04:17Speaker 2: They had OJ stuff.
- 1:04:19Speaker 9: They had some of OJ stuff, yeah.
- 1:04:20Speaker 7: All kinds of stuff.
- 1:04:21Speaker 9: I think that was the end of pretty much what
- 1:04:25Speaker 9: we did in L.A.
- 1:04:27Speaker 2: Was it?
- 1:04:28Speaker 18: Yeah.
- 1:04:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I think it was.
- 1:04:30Speaker 7: Well, that's what I thought was our tie-in for this,
- 1:04:33Speaker 7: because you've got your whole trip to Hollywood and all
- 1:04:36Speaker 7: your crazy Hollywood tie-in stories. And this week at Days
- 1:04:39Speaker 7: of the Dead, we talked with a Hollywood A-lister. Yay!
- 1:04:43Speaker 7: I mean, back in the day.
- 1:04:44Speaker 2: Not Edward Furlong?
- 1:04:45Speaker 7: There was not Edward Furlong. No offense, Edward, but let's
- 1:04:49Speaker 7: not even pretend. Back in the day, there was no
- 1:04:52Speaker 7: bigger female lead than Kathleen Turner. So the fact that
- 1:04:56Speaker 7: we could convince her to sit down and talk for
- 1:04:58Speaker 7: a few minutes was kind of awesome. So I think
- 1:05:02Speaker 7: we're going to get to our special guest right now
- 1:05:04Speaker 7: and go sit down with Miss Kathleen Turner.
- 1:05:29Speaker 11: All right.
- 1:05:30Speaker 7: Well, I usually try to start early on and kind
- 1:05:32Speaker 7: of get a sense of how people got to, you know,
- 1:05:35Speaker 7: what they were interested in and what led them to
- 1:05:36Speaker 7: the industry they work in. And usually it's pretty early on.
- 1:05:41Speaker 7: They kind of attach themselves to their fandom. But from
- 1:05:45Speaker 7: what little I know, your family was a little different.
- 1:05:48Speaker 7: Was the arts not encouraged for you?
- 1:05:51Speaker 10: No, no one in my family had ever been in
- 1:05:53Speaker 10: liberal arts. Or should I say performing arts? Yeah.
- 1:05:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:06:00Speaker 10: No, heaven's to bet you when I went, I was
- 1:06:02Speaker 10: at high school in London. And I moved there, well,
- 1:06:05Speaker 10: we all moved there from Caracas, Venezuela. And it was
- 1:06:09Speaker 10: already in my mind that, you know, I wanted to act. But,
- 1:06:13Speaker 10: of course, when I got to London and saw the
- 1:06:16Speaker 10: theater there, well, that was it. I was a goner,
- 1:06:20Speaker 10: you know. I think the first night I was in London,
- 1:06:23Speaker 10: I snuck out of the hotel and got a really
- 1:06:26Speaker 10: cheap ticket, you know, up in the gods in the
- 1:06:28Speaker 10: theater room. And it just hit me, well, I could
- 1:06:35Speaker 10: make my living doing this. I guess it never quite
- 1:06:38Speaker 10: occurred to me that way before.
- 1:06:39Speaker 7: I think that's, yeah, that's a defining moment for everybody.
- 1:06:43Speaker 10: We knew that we all had to make our way.
- 1:06:45Speaker 10: We didn't have any money or anything, so we were
- 1:06:47Speaker 10: all going to have to pay our rent. But thinking, oh,
- 1:06:50Speaker 10: my God, I could pay my rent this way.
- 1:06:52Speaker 7: It's better than most jobs out there, I suppose.
- 1:06:55Speaker 10: I love it.
- 1:06:57Speaker 7: So were you initially drawn to just like theater?
- 1:06:59Speaker 12: Oh, yes.
- 1:07:00Speaker 7: Or was it, were you like growing up, were you
- 1:07:01Speaker 7: into film as well? It was all theater?
- 1:07:03Speaker 10: No, I grew up mostly in Venezuela and everything, so
- 1:07:06Speaker 10: there was very little in English. And I took a
- 1:07:09Speaker 10: couple of years to speak Spanish well enough to really
- 1:07:12Speaker 10: be able to watch films. No, I've always been a reader, honestly.
- 1:07:17Speaker 10: But then I moved to New York, you know, right after...
- 1:07:21Speaker 10: I finished college. Well, hell, my car was packed already.
- 1:07:25Speaker 10: They gave me the diploma. I said, send it to
- 1:07:27Speaker 10: my mother. Thank you.
- 1:07:28Speaker 7: You're ready to go.
- 1:07:29Speaker 10: I was ready. And then, I don't know, in the
- 1:07:32Speaker 10: first year, it took about six months to get an
- 1:07:36Speaker 10: off-Broadway play. Or rather, I should say off-off. And then
- 1:07:40Speaker 10: about ten months to get a soap opera. And then
- 1:07:45Speaker 10: in eleven months, I was on Broadway in Gemini. So,
- 1:07:49Speaker 10: I was racing to the studio at 6 o'clock in
- 1:07:52Speaker 10: the morning and then racing to the theater at 6
- 1:07:55Speaker 10: o'clock at night. And when you're 22, you can do
- 1:07:58Speaker 10: that stuff. Yeah. It was great. It was absolutely great.
- 1:08:02Speaker 7: Again, there's not as much going on with that anymore,
- 1:08:04Speaker 7: but that is such a training ground for actors.
- 1:08:06Speaker 10: It was good training for camera. I'd never done any
- 1:08:08Speaker 10: camera work.
- 1:08:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:08:09Speaker 7: So as you moved into, like, were you specifically looking
- 1:08:12Speaker 7: to move towards film eventually?
- 1:08:14Speaker 10: No, I always thought film kind of happened to me. Well,
- 1:08:18Speaker 10: there were these three casting directors, these three women. There
- 1:08:21Speaker 10: was one great, you know, sort of the grand dame
- 1:08:24Speaker 10: of casting directors at that time named Marion Dowdy, I think, yes.
- 1:08:28Speaker 10: And she had three protégés. And they, unbeknownst to me,
- 1:08:34Speaker 10: they evidently had a bet on who would get me
- 1:08:37Speaker 10: in the first film, you know. I guess that's productive
- 1:08:42Speaker 10: for you, at least. Yeah, Wally Nesita won because she
- 1:08:45Speaker 10: cast Bite.
- 1:08:47Speaker 7: I mean, that sort of launched you so far ahead.
- 1:08:51Speaker 7: It's a leading role in what became a really big movie.
- 1:08:54Speaker 10: Yeah, they were pretty scared. you know i think it
- 1:08:57Speaker 10: was fox yeah they were pretty scared about oh no
- 1:09:02Speaker 10: why oh heck anyway who knows um it was long
- 1:09:06Speaker 10: enough ago um yeah i mean to risk so much
- 1:09:09Speaker 10: on a complete unknown but then bill had only done
- 1:09:12Speaker 10: one film and hadn't come out yet that was altered
- 1:09:15Speaker 10: states yeah So, really, he wasn't unknown, too, at that point,
- 1:09:19Speaker 10: as far as they were concerned.
- 1:09:21Speaker 7: And then, like, that's really the first feature directing for
- 1:09:25Speaker 7: Lawrence Kasdan.
- 1:09:25Speaker 10: What I found out years later, really, was that George Lucas,
- 1:09:32Speaker 10: who was the ultimate producer, was the one who said, uh-uh,
- 1:09:37Speaker 10: it's these two. I mean, I've always had to... When
- 1:09:41Speaker 10: I finally got to meet him, I finally got to
- 1:09:44Speaker 10: thank him.
- 1:09:44Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:09:45Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:09:46Speaker 7: Yeah, he definitely was already working. Yeah, okay, I didn't
- 1:09:48Speaker 7: even write him to that point, but yeah.
- 1:09:50Speaker 10: Well, Larry had written for him, right?
- 1:09:52Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:09:53Speaker 10: So they knew each other well.
- 1:09:54Speaker 7: And then what were you like, as you got into
- 1:09:57Speaker 7: that role, again, it's such a different kind of a role,
- 1:10:00Speaker 7: specifically for like a woman in that time period. Like
- 1:10:04Speaker 7: you didn't see a lot of female leads at that point.
- 1:10:07Speaker 10: Well, you're talking about a body, yeah. Well, not only that,
- 1:10:11Speaker 10: I think that, you know, it was really a breakthrough
- 1:10:14Speaker 10: on sexuality in film. Yeah. We never had anything quite
- 1:10:17Speaker 10: like it. And I think we were very brave.
- 1:10:22Speaker 7: Yeah, definitely.
- 1:10:23Speaker 10: Yeah, it was kind of like, well, either they'll love
- 1:10:25Speaker 10: us or I'll never work again.
- 1:10:26Speaker 7: Just, I had a few to hit, so I wanted
- 1:10:30Speaker 7: to jump around. I was always a huge fan of
- 1:10:33Speaker 7: Romancing the Stone. That's, Such a big ordeal to get
- 1:10:36Speaker 7: involved in just as far as so much action. And
- 1:10:39Speaker 7: were you prepared for going into that much physical shit?
- 1:10:42Speaker 7: I mean, at least you grew up in a different climate.
- 1:10:45Speaker 10: Before I got rheumatoid arthritis, I was a really serious
- 1:10:51Speaker 10: athlete and loved it. Loved throwing myself around. I mean,
- 1:10:55Speaker 10: they had to stop me from doing stunts, you know.
- 1:10:58Speaker 10: Michael had to say, no, no, the insurance. Oh, shucks.
- 1:11:03Speaker 10: They wouldn't let me swing across the gorge, you know.
- 1:11:07Speaker 10: No fun. And then we kept losing taste because I'd
- 1:11:11Speaker 10: crack up. I'd be laughing when I was supposed to
- 1:11:13Speaker 10: be terrified, you know. But I was having a ball.
- 1:11:16Speaker 10: And I grew up in South America, so yeah. It
- 1:11:19Speaker 10: was very comfortable for me, kind of a little bit
- 1:11:22Speaker 10: of going home. And Michael needed another, you know, person
- 1:11:26Speaker 10: who was bilingual because he had most of the actors,
- 1:11:30Speaker 10: several of the actors, didn't speak English really. And I
- 1:11:34Speaker 10: don't know how he thought he was going to direct them. Well,
- 1:11:38Speaker 10: that was... Still Robert Zemeckis.
- 1:11:40Speaker 7: Yeah, that's again pretty early for him. Was he prepared
- 1:11:44Speaker 7: for everything you guys had to do?
- 1:11:45Speaker 10: Bob Zemeckis, yes. Yeah, he had it all planned out.
- 1:11:49Speaker 10: He had all the camera work plotted out. I just
- 1:11:51Speaker 10: don't think he had any idea what was going to
- 1:11:53Speaker 10: happen with the acting. He's kind of one of those
- 1:11:56Speaker 10: directors out of UCLA film school, you know, are so
- 1:12:00Speaker 10: fascinated by the camera and then turn to you and go, Okay,
- 1:12:04Speaker 10: you do what you do now.
- 1:12:08Speaker 7: Yeah. I mean, that's kind of what Lucas was sort
- 1:12:10Speaker 7: of known for. He was way more concerned with setting
- 1:12:13Speaker 7: up the blocking and everything. And then, okay, now you
- 1:12:16Speaker 7: guys act.
- 1:12:17Speaker 10: Right, right.
- 1:12:19Speaker 7: And then, I mean, that was such an amazing sort
- 1:12:22Speaker 7: of chemistry between you and Michael Douglas. So is it
- 1:12:25Speaker 7: something that was there?
- 1:12:26Speaker 10: Quite honestly, yeah. Yeah, no, we hit it off right off.
- 1:12:29Speaker 10: But it was honestly Danny DeVito, too.
- 1:12:31Speaker 7: I mean, don't forget.
- 1:12:32Speaker 10: He was in all three films I directed, War of
- 1:12:35Speaker 10: the Roses. And so really kind of after hours, Danny
- 1:12:39Speaker 10: and Michael were the oldest of friends. They roomed together
- 1:12:43Speaker 10: when they first went to New York. And so they
- 1:12:46Speaker 10: kind of let me into their club. So even if
- 1:12:49Speaker 10: we weren't in scenes and everything together with Danny much,
- 1:12:53Speaker 10: I mean, we did get some, of course, but there was,
- 1:12:58Speaker 10: it was just such a camaraderie. It was just, I mean,
- 1:13:01Speaker 10: those guys just, We're so tight, you know, and they
- 1:13:05Speaker 10: let me in the club. It was really fun.
- 1:13:09Speaker 7: And then how different is it, like, again, you go
- 1:13:11Speaker 7: through the first two movies there and then change gears
- 1:13:15Speaker 7: and have Danny come in and change?
- 1:13:17Speaker 10: I try to change gears every film.
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:13:19Speaker 10: So, well, which makes it difficult sometimes, I think, for
- 1:13:24Speaker 10: people to put my body of work together, you know,
- 1:13:26Speaker 10: because if you really look at the filmography, uh, each
- 1:13:32Speaker 10: film is almost directly the opposite of the one before.
- 1:13:35Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:13:36Speaker 10: So after body, he came the man with two brains,
- 1:13:39Speaker 10: which is a comedy and a spoof. Right.
- 1:13:43Speaker 7: Carl Reiner.
- 1:13:43Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 1:13:44Speaker 10: And then, oh, genius. He's a, I love him. So,
- 1:13:48Speaker 10: and then, um, came romancing.
- 1:13:51Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:13:52Speaker 10: Uh, and then crimes of passion. And I have to
- 1:13:55Speaker 10: tell you that like, um, My God, we were all
- 1:13:59Speaker 10: very upset. I was going to do Crimes of Passion.
- 1:14:01Speaker 10: I said, no, no, no. It's Ken Russell.
- 1:14:03Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:14:04Speaker 10: I want to work with Ken Russell. Now, Anthony Perkins
- 1:14:07Speaker 10: was less than optimal, but anyway, the point being that
- 1:14:12Speaker 10: each one is quite different to the one before. So
- 1:14:15Speaker 10: I will run into people who say, you know, they
- 1:14:18Speaker 10: say I loved Pritzy's Honor. I say, well, thank you.
- 1:14:22Speaker 10: Did you see Accidental Tours? Oh, God, yes, I loved
- 1:14:24Speaker 10: Accidental Tours. Okay. Okay. and it's like they don't connect
- 1:14:28Speaker 10: them up because I don't do the same character or
- 1:14:32Speaker 10: style all the time which to me is the point for.
- 1:14:36Speaker 7: You I mean if nothing else it makes it more
- 1:14:37Speaker 7: interesting but definitely for somebody to then like take in
- 1:14:40Speaker 7: all of your work it's not just you like which
- 1:14:44Speaker 7: is something that becomes difficult like you look at even
- 1:14:47Speaker 7: some really big actors and sometimes they just play themselves
- 1:14:50Speaker 7: and that's what they do but yeah if you can
- 1:14:53Speaker 7: kind of adapt and move on it's interesting it's fun
- 1:14:57Speaker 7: To really do something different, had you ever done voiceover
- 1:15:00Speaker 7: work before Jessica Rapp?
- 1:15:02Speaker 10: Well, I did for like, oh, I'd recorded some books,
- 1:15:06Speaker 10: I think, and BBC used to bring me over to
- 1:15:09Speaker 10: do some radio drama.
- 1:15:12Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:15:13Speaker 10: But nothing like this. Nothing like matching my voice and
- 1:15:17Speaker 10: creating the face and the breath of a cartoon. Yeah.
- 1:15:23Speaker 10: You know, it was really most interesting. I mean, Bob
- 1:15:25Speaker 10: used to send me sort of videos of different stages
- 1:15:31Speaker 10: they were at you know when they were just doing
- 1:15:33Speaker 10: the line filming and how they would place a structure
- 1:15:38Speaker 10: so that Bob had a focus and all this stuff
- 1:15:43Speaker 10: but then when it got down to really I mean
- 1:15:45Speaker 10: the body was pretty well determined and everything but you
- 1:15:47Speaker 10: can't finish the face and I thought you know when
- 1:15:50Speaker 10: I I said my god you're making her boobs so
- 1:15:52Speaker 10: huge I said you know what why don't we put
- 1:15:55Speaker 10: in some big breaths like i have them bounce you
- 1:16:00Speaker 10: know so i got to do stuff.
- 1:16:02Speaker 7: Like that fans thank you i'm sure yes there are
- 1:16:05Speaker 7: a lot of jessica rabbits here today it is amazing
- 1:16:07Speaker 7: how much how much it's still kind.
- 1:16:10Speaker 10: Of my goodness a lot of guys yeah.
- 1:16:13Speaker 7: Several yeah well then uh one of the other ones
- 1:16:17Speaker 7: and i actually talked to to john waters about a
- 1:16:20Speaker 7: year or so ago so we he was they were
- 1:16:22Speaker 7: about to re-release serial mom so he went into a
- 1:16:24Speaker 7: lot of that but i guess what was What was
- 1:16:26Speaker 7: your take on Serial Mom? It's, again, a very different
- 1:16:29Speaker 7: role for you than what you've done.
- 1:16:30Speaker 10: I laughed every day. It was a little difficult to read.
- 1:16:36Speaker 10: When I started to read it, you know, John said
- 1:16:38Speaker 10: it to me. I live in New York always. And
- 1:16:40Speaker 10: I started to read it. I got to about where
- 1:16:42Speaker 10: she pulls the liver out, and I went, oh, I
- 1:16:44Speaker 10: don't think so.
- 1:16:45Speaker 7: Uh-uh, uh-uh, uh-uh.
- 1:16:47Speaker 10: I put it down. And then I went back to it.
- 1:16:50Speaker 10: I don't know why. And I just kept reading until
- 1:16:54Speaker 10: she bashed the woman's head in. Come on, come on.
- 1:16:56Speaker 10: And I put it down again and then I went
- 1:16:59Speaker 10: back to it again. So finally I thought, okay, there's
- 1:17:01Speaker 10: something happening here that I can't just dismiss it. So
- 1:17:04Speaker 10: I called John and said, I need to know how
- 1:17:07Speaker 10: you're going to shoot this. Because it could be a
- 1:17:10Speaker 10: gore fest or it could be a great comedy.
- 1:17:12Speaker 7: Yeah, on the page it could read very different than
- 1:17:15Speaker 7: what we got.
- 1:17:15Speaker 10: Yes, yes. And so he jumped on a train and
- 1:17:18Speaker 10: came up to New York to convince me. how he
- 1:17:21Speaker 10: was going to shoot it, and I said, well, okay then.
- 1:17:24Speaker 10: And it was as funny as I thought it could be.
- 1:17:26Speaker 7: He's amazing as a person. How is he as a
- 1:17:29Speaker 7: director to work with?
- 1:17:30Speaker 10: You know, well, as a person, and it crosses into
- 1:17:35Speaker 10: as a director, obviously, he has the most extraordinary gift
- 1:17:39Speaker 10: of taking, essentially, what could be very unattractive people and
- 1:17:44Speaker 10: making you care about them. I don't mean just physically,
- 1:17:48Speaker 10: I mean.
- 1:17:49Speaker 7: They're written to be horrible sometimes.
- 1:17:51Speaker 10: Yeah, Beverly is really not your shiny, you know. But
- 1:17:59Speaker 10: he thought I could, you know, pull it off and
- 1:18:02Speaker 10: be this absolutely loving, conservative mother, you know, who just
- 1:18:08Speaker 10: saw this as quite righteous. And I gotta say, I just...
- 1:18:13Speaker 10: We lost so many takes with one of us laughing.
- 1:18:15Speaker 10: It was just.
- 1:18:18Speaker 7: The other thing I'd seen, I know early on, you'd
- 1:18:21Speaker 7: always been compared a lot to a young Laura McCall.
- 1:18:24Speaker 10: Oh, when we met each other, you should have heard
- 1:18:27Speaker 10: that one.
- 1:18:27Speaker 7: Yeah, and then what was your comment to her?
- 1:18:30Speaker 10: Well, she said, I went over to introduce myself because
- 1:18:35Speaker 10: I don't play these games of who's going to break first.
- 1:18:38Speaker 10: I just went right over and said, I'd love to
- 1:18:41Speaker 10: meet you. My name's Kathleen Turner. And she said, oh, yes.
- 1:18:45Speaker 10: She said, I hear you're the young me. I went, no, that's...
- 1:18:50Speaker 10: not possible. There is no one. You are unique. But
- 1:18:55Speaker 10: then we started this game because we'd run into each
- 1:18:58Speaker 10: other a lot, you know, around the theaters and stuff.
- 1:19:01Speaker 10: And I'd say, good evening, Ms. Picard. And she'd say,
- 1:19:04Speaker 10: good evening, Ms. Turner. And I'd say, how are you
- 1:19:06Speaker 10: this evening? She said, very well, thank you. It was
- 1:19:10Speaker 10: like a how low can you go game. And we left.
- 1:19:14Speaker 7: Yeah. But that's what I mean. Maybe not quite as specific,
- 1:19:19Speaker 7: but I did want to ask you, like at this point,
- 1:19:21Speaker 7: what do you think of... Like the new crop of
- 1:19:25Speaker 7: young actresses out there. Who is kind of moving into
- 1:19:27Speaker 7: like that impressive stage?
- 1:19:28Speaker 10: I don't know. You know, I really hate to name
- 1:19:31Speaker 10: names and stuff. I just don't think it's fair.
- 1:19:33Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:19:33Speaker 10: And I'm bound to forget someone.
- 1:19:35Speaker 7: Or just things that you liked, you know, recent performances.
- 1:19:40Speaker 10: Well, there are many. There are many I like. No,
- 1:19:43Speaker 10: I really don't like to name names. I don't think
- 1:19:45Speaker 10: it's fair.
- 1:19:46Speaker 7: Yeah. Well, I mean, I think what's really interesting that's changing,
- 1:19:49Speaker 7: and this is having just seen Booksmart, it's like we're
- 1:19:52Speaker 7: seeing such a great new crop of female directors coming out.
- 1:19:55Speaker 10: Well, not enough.
- 1:19:56Speaker 7: Yeah, but I mean, it's making a movement.
- 1:20:00Speaker 10: The greatest real advance has been in digital photography and editing.
- 1:20:06Speaker 10: So that, I mean, instead of having to have the
- 1:20:09Speaker 10: hundreds of thousands of dollars you need to have a
- 1:20:11Speaker 10: Panamision camera, you can indeed, you know, for much less money,
- 1:20:16Speaker 10: have extraordinary quality filmmaking. And the problem, I mean, now
- 1:20:21Speaker 10: the festivals are growing in importance and all of this
- 1:20:25Speaker 10: is good. The problem is still, the bottleneck is still distribution,
- 1:20:30Speaker 10: which is controlled still by the studios. Now, when we
- 1:20:34Speaker 10: break that, you know, then we'll have a wave of
- 1:20:39Speaker 10: filmmaking that can get out to the public. I love
- 1:20:42Speaker 10: to go to be on a jury on festivals and stuff, yeah?
- 1:20:45Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:20:46Speaker 10: And so I get to see extraordinary things that will
- 1:20:49Speaker 10: never get to the public.
- 1:20:51Speaker 7: Oh, yeah.
- 1:20:53Speaker 10: And which I'm very glad I could see. Yeah.
- 1:20:57Speaker 7: I mean, that's changing so much. Like the industry, just
- 1:21:00Speaker 7: from the technical part of it, has changed so much
- 1:21:02Speaker 7: in the last 20 years.
- 1:21:04Speaker 10: It opens it up so much to people. I mean,
- 1:21:06Speaker 10: you really couldn't make a film without a hell of
- 1:21:09Speaker 10: a lot of money. Yeah. people and crew before and
- 1:21:14Speaker 10: now you.
- 1:21:14Speaker 7: Can independent films looked like independent films even in the
- 1:21:19Speaker 7: 80s and early.
- 1:21:19Speaker 10: 90s no now you wouldn't necessarily know.
- 1:21:21Speaker 7: Now you can shoot on your iPhone and put it
- 1:21:23Speaker 7: in theaters and it's well there's a few trying that
- 1:21:27Speaker 7: now so if you're into experimental it's getting close but
- 1:21:30Speaker 7: yeah so Well, as far as, you know, is there
- 1:21:33Speaker 7: anything you want to tell people that you're working on or,
- 1:21:35Speaker 7: you know, tell people to go find a book out
- 1:21:38Speaker 7: there or stuff that you've got?
- 1:21:39Speaker 10: Oh, well, as I say, I do most of my
- 1:21:41Speaker 10: time reading, but I'll tell you, I did in the fall,
- 1:21:44Speaker 10: I shot a show for Dolly Parton's series Heartstrings. Yeah.
- 1:21:51Speaker 10: And so each show is, each little movie is based
- 1:21:55Speaker 10: on one of her songs. And so she asked me
- 1:21:58Speaker 10: to do Au Bon, who's a, She called me up.
- 1:22:02Speaker 10: She said, now, these songs are real important to me.
- 1:22:05Speaker 10: She said, you know, old bones. She lived up the mountain.
- 1:22:11Speaker 10: And we kids, we just thought she was a witsy woman. But,
- 1:22:13Speaker 10: you know, of course, she wasn't really. Anyway, and she
- 1:22:17Speaker 10: went on to tell me. So I said, well, yeah,
- 1:22:20Speaker 10: you know. I mean, I never thought of playing a hillbilly,
- 1:22:23Speaker 10: a mountain hillbilly or anything. But, oh, my goodness. I
- 1:22:29Speaker 10: had five layers of age makeup on and body padding.
- 1:22:32Speaker 10: And I swear, it took an hour and a half
- 1:22:34Speaker 10: to get that shit off my face. Oh, I'm sorry.
- 1:22:36Speaker 10: I can't say that.
- 1:22:36Speaker 2: Oh, you can.
- 1:22:37Speaker 10: Oh, okay, good. And I'm glad it took that long because,
- 1:22:40Speaker 10: I mean, you couldn't rip it off anyway. But it
- 1:22:43Speaker 10: was sweet and fun. And it really, I got to
- 1:22:47Speaker 10: tell you, I love that woman's view of America. I mean,
- 1:22:50Speaker 10: she just thinks that the good, you know, will be
- 1:22:54Speaker 10: done goodbye and the bad will not. Yeah.
- 1:22:57Speaker 7: I mean, she's another one of those that, like, is
- 1:22:59Speaker 7: such a– she has a distinctive voice in songwriting, but
- 1:23:03Speaker 7: then everything else she's attached to. She's just got such
- 1:23:06Speaker 7: a– and it is interesting, again, coming from the hills
- 1:23:09Speaker 7: like she did. Like, again, it could be a different thing,
- 1:23:12Speaker 7: but I think much like the John Waters, she puts
- 1:23:14Speaker 7: a good spin on it.
- 1:23:14Speaker 10: I'll tell you one story she told me. She said
- 1:23:17Speaker 10: that she was up visiting old bones once because they
- 1:23:24Speaker 10: was 12, so she was always hungry. And Bones would
- 1:23:27Speaker 10: give her a cookie or something. And one time old
- 1:23:30Speaker 10: Bones said, Miss Dolly, you are anointed. So I went home.
- 1:23:37Speaker 10: I said to my mama now, Mama, what's anointing? And
- 1:23:41Speaker 10: she said, well, that means it's by God. So you see,
- 1:23:44Speaker 10: old Bones was the first one to know. Isn't that sweet?
- 1:23:49Speaker 7: And that opened up, yeah, the rest of the world.
- 1:23:52Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:23:53Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:23:53Speaker 7: Well, anything else you want to share with people?
- 1:23:55Speaker 10: Oh, well, also now I'm doing Michael Douglas' very bad
- 1:23:58Speaker 10: ex-wife on the Kaminsky Method. Chuck Lorre wrote me in there. And,
- 1:24:03Speaker 10: I mean, it's as if, you know, they hadn't died
- 1:24:06Speaker 10: at the end of War of the Roses. You know,
- 1:24:07Speaker 10: this is still going strong, guys.
- 1:24:09Speaker 7: The chemistry and the fighting.
- 1:24:11Speaker 9: Is still there.
- 1:24:12Speaker 10: I tell you, we have such fun.
- 1:24:15Speaker 7: Well, that's awesome. All right. Well, thank you for joining us.
- 1:24:17Speaker 10: My pleasure. All right.
- 1:24:18Speaker 7: Thank you.
- 1:24:19Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 1:24:47Speaker 2: Miss Jessica Rabbit.
- 1:24:48Speaker 7: Jessica Rabbit.
- 1:24:49Speaker 3: She was.
- 1:24:49Speaker 2: It's such a great movie. That movie is like aged
- 1:24:52Speaker 2: tremendously well.
- 1:24:54Speaker 10: Yeah.
- 1:24:55Speaker 7: Again, it is one of those. I mean, I guess
- 1:24:56Speaker 7: it helps because half of it is in cartoon land.
- 1:25:00Speaker 7: But being a period piece, like it is almost something
- 1:25:03Speaker 7: set in the real world. Like it was telling that
- 1:25:07Speaker 7: story of when California wasn't connected to the rest of
- 1:25:11Speaker 7: the world by a highway. And when the whole country
- 1:25:14Speaker 7: started changing, when you saw highways... just sort of changing
- 1:25:18Speaker 7: that mentality of being able to drive. It's not like
- 1:25:20Speaker 7: one little street from here to there going from small
- 1:25:23Speaker 7: town to small town. Like it really did revolutionize the
- 1:25:26Speaker 7: whole country and travel. And as someone who just drove
- 1:25:30Speaker 7: across the country, you know, like it really changed the
- 1:25:33Speaker 7: way everything happened. So especially adding a nice, like organized
- 1:25:36Speaker 7: crime angle to it and like people scamming to get
- 1:25:40Speaker 7: money off of the system. Like it's, it's a fascinating
- 1:25:42Speaker 7: story that like is only like, livened up by adding
- 1:25:46Speaker 7: a bunch of cartoon characters to it. So, yeah, Who
- 1:25:48Speaker 7: Framed Roger Rabbit is an amazing film.
- 1:25:51Speaker 2: Like I said, and considering how old it is now,
- 1:25:54Speaker 2: it still fucking looks good. It has held up remarkably.
- 1:25:57Speaker 2: It looks amazing. I don't think they could make that
- 1:25:59Speaker 2: movie today.
- 1:26:00Speaker 7: Probably not, and if they did, it would look really
- 1:26:02Speaker 7: bad CG, where that was those, like, not really early, early,
- 1:26:08Speaker 7: but it's still pretty early even for, like, blue screen technology. So...
- 1:26:11Speaker 7: When they've started working in the blue screen background and
- 1:26:15Speaker 7: then finding a way to put real props in the
- 1:26:17Speaker 7: scene with the actors and then animate over top of them,
- 1:26:21Speaker 7: that's all amazing watching that now.
- 1:26:24Speaker 9: Well, see, for you guys, it's Who Framed Roger Rabbit,
- 1:26:27Speaker 9: but for me, it's Jewel of the Nile and Romancing
- 1:26:32Speaker 9: the Stone.
- 1:26:33Speaker 7: That's what I said.
- 1:26:34Speaker 2: In the mid-' 80s.
- 1:26:35Speaker 7: Romancing the Stone was one of those I saw on
- 1:26:37Speaker 7: cable and was just like, what is this? This is awesome.
- 1:26:40Speaker 7: I never saw it. It's so much fun.
- 1:26:43Speaker 9: Oh, my God. It was during the whole time of
- 1:26:45Speaker 9: when the Indiana Jones and all the adventure movies came out.
- 1:26:50Speaker 7: But all the others sucked, and this one didn't. Most
- 1:26:53Speaker 7: of them did suck. Yeah. Because you were like, yeah,
- 1:26:55Speaker 7: this is a ripoff. This one wasn't trying to be
- 1:26:57Speaker 7: a ripoff. It just had an adventurous kind of a guy,
- 1:27:00Speaker 7: but it was set in modern day, more or less,
- 1:27:02Speaker 7: and it was really well-developed characters, too, because it's not
- 1:27:06Speaker 7: really about him. Joan is the main character. It really
- 1:27:11Speaker 7: does center around her and what she does. does throughout
- 1:27:14Speaker 7: the movie is the through line, and Jack's just kind
- 1:27:18Speaker 7: of there.
- 1:27:19Speaker 9: And I think that's what my mom recognized her for.
- 1:27:22Speaker 7: Yeah, it's kind of unusual, especially for early 80s, you know,
- 1:27:25Speaker 7: to be having a strong female lead, you know?
- 1:27:27Speaker 9: Yeah, because my mom asked what we were doing this week,
- 1:27:29Speaker 9: and I showed her, and she was like, oh, oh,
- 1:27:30Speaker 9: Kathleen Turner, she's famous!
- 1:27:33Speaker 7: That's what I said when I was like, hey, I
- 1:27:35Speaker 7: can actually sit down. All right, let's do this. So
- 1:27:37Speaker 7: I was... I was pretty thrilled to put that together.
- 1:27:40Speaker 7: So a big thank you to Kathleen for sitting down
- 1:27:43Speaker 7: and being part of the show. All right. Anything else
- 1:27:47Speaker 7: going on for you?
- 1:27:49Speaker 9: We didn't do anything really movie related in San Diego,
- 1:27:51Speaker 9: did we?
- 1:27:52Speaker 11: No.
- 1:27:53Speaker 9: You saw some beach squirrels out there.
- 1:27:55Speaker 2: Beach squirrels. Holy shit. Beach squirrels. I didn't know that
- 1:27:57Speaker 2: was a thing. And we were walking along in Carlsbad, California.
- 1:28:00Speaker 2: I'm walking on the beach because there's the ocean and
- 1:28:02Speaker 2: I'm walking towards the garbage can to throw away my
- 1:28:05Speaker 2: paper plate that had my fucking peanut butter sandwich with
- 1:28:07Speaker 2: my Doritos. Holy shit there's squirrels on the beach And
- 1:28:12Speaker 2: they're everywhere And I'm like.
- 1:28:15Speaker 7: They got little sunglasses on and little beach towels.
- 1:28:18Speaker 2: Dude Right by the sidewalk there was this big cluster
- 1:28:20Speaker 2: of rocks That went all the way down to the
- 1:28:22Speaker 2: beach Fucking little squirrels everywhere One of them only had three.
- 1:28:25Speaker 7: Legs And he was the most adorable He was.
- 1:28:28Speaker 2: Because everybody knows that animals are cuter When they are
- 1:28:31Speaker 2: missing a limb If they miss two, holy shit, it's
- 1:28:34Speaker 2: beyond ridiculous. But don't go out and maim your animal
- 1:28:36Speaker 2: just because I said less legs is cuter.
- 1:28:38Speaker 7: Just be nicer to the ones that are missing.
- 1:28:40Speaker 2: One. Exactly, they have a rough life. I mean, this
- 1:28:42Speaker 2: guy was pretty fat, so he obviously didn't have.
- 1:28:44Speaker 10: It too rough.
- 1:28:45Speaker 7: Well, again, then everybody's like, look how cute he is,
- 1:28:47Speaker 7: and they gave him food, so he's eating Big Macs
- 1:28:49Speaker 7: on the beach.
- 1:28:50Speaker 9: Down in San Diego, we back up Highway 1.
- 1:28:55Speaker 2: San Diego was the most aggressively we got panhandled the
- 1:28:57Speaker 2: whole time. Hey, you got any money?
- 1:28:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 1:29:00Speaker 2: I'm like, well, I'm just walking down the street.
- 1:29:02Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:29:02Speaker 2: Hey, you got any money? I'm like, what even like,
- 1:29:04Speaker 2: you know, nice.
- 1:29:06Speaker 7: Which is like abrupt.
- 1:29:07Speaker 9: Yeah. I can fit into San Diego pretty good.
- 1:29:11Speaker 7: So.
- 1:29:12Speaker 9: If I learn to speak Spanish.
- 1:29:14Speaker 2: You get yelled at for not answering people. Yeah.
- 1:29:18Speaker 9: Some lady thought I worked at a street vending booth
- 1:29:21Speaker 9: and she started yelling at me about how something works.
- 1:29:24Speaker 9: She's like, why is he ignoring me? And the other
- 1:29:27Speaker 9: lady's like, what? I was like, huh? It's like, he
- 1:29:30Speaker 9: doesn't work here. It's like, oh.
- 1:29:35Speaker 7: Well, you better get back to work then. You found
- 1:29:38Speaker 7: yourself a job and you didn't even know it.
- 1:29:40Speaker 2: Then we went to the nightmare that is San Francisco.
- 1:29:42Speaker 2: I would never want to go back there again. Well,
- 1:29:47Speaker 2: we did our, I guess the movie's geekiest thing we
- 1:29:49Speaker 2: did in San Francisco.
- 1:29:50Speaker 9: Alcatraz.
- 1:29:51Speaker 2: I wasn't where I was going, but okay. I was
- 1:29:53Speaker 2: going with Chinatown.
- 1:29:53Speaker 10: Oh, yeah, yeah.
- 1:29:54Speaker 7: Chinatown.
- 1:29:55Speaker 9: Big Trouble Little Chinatown.
- 1:29:56Speaker 7: I mean, you know, Chinatown's a movie.
- 1:29:59Speaker 9: Big Trouble Little Chinatown.
- 1:30:01Speaker 7: Escape from Alcatraz.
- 1:30:02Speaker 9: These are all movies.
- 1:30:03Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 1:30:04Speaker 2: You know, to Alcatraz, there was a lot of people.
- 1:30:06Speaker 2: We were on a boat. We were on a boat.
- 1:30:08Speaker 9: Yeah, we were on a boat.
- 1:30:09Speaker 7: Did you cram your face through the side of the
- 1:30:10Speaker 7: wall like Clint Eastwood?
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:30:12Speaker 9: There's a shit ton of people that go to Alcatraz
- 1:30:15Speaker 9: every year. I'll tell you that. Missy did a really
- 1:30:17Speaker 9: good job of cropping everybody out of the damn pictures
- 1:30:20Speaker 9: that she took. Because there is a lot of people
- 1:30:22Speaker 9: and there are boats landing like every half hour full
- 1:30:25Speaker 9: of people. And it was just, it's a, yeah.
- 1:30:31Speaker 7: Wow.
- 1:30:32Speaker 9: There's a lot of people. Just driving through San Francisco
- 1:30:36Speaker 9: too is very, uh.
- 1:30:38Speaker 2: Clusterfucky?
- 1:30:39Speaker 7: Uh, yeah.
- 1:30:42Speaker 3: You know.
- 1:30:42Speaker 2: Something I never want to do.
- 1:30:43Speaker 9: A lot of, a lot of Construction was going on and.
- 1:30:47Speaker 2: Oh, we didn't talk about where we stayed when we
- 1:30:49Speaker 2: were in L.A. Oh, yeah.
- 1:30:52Speaker 9: That's right. I forgot about that.
- 1:30:53Speaker 2: You never even got the picture photoed up, did you?
- 1:30:55Speaker 9: No, I don't. It's still on my phone.
- 1:30:56Speaker 7: I didn't even think about it.
- 1:30:58Speaker 9: I keep forgetting.
- 1:31:00Speaker 2: Because you can't tell from the photo the significance that
- 1:31:03Speaker 2: it has.
- 1:31:04Speaker 3: Nope.
- 1:31:05Speaker 7: Actually, hold on. That is a motel.
- 1:31:06Speaker 10: Hold on a second. You talk about.
- 1:31:11Speaker 9: Finding parking in San Francisco is just as bad as
- 1:31:16Speaker 9: trying to find parking in L.A., only a little bit worse,
- 1:31:20Speaker 9: because they do have free parking spots in certain areas,
- 1:31:24Speaker 9: but the free parking is far away from anything you
- 1:31:26Speaker 9: even want to see.
- 1:31:28Speaker 7: Well, of course. That's why it's free.
- 1:31:29Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 1:31:30Speaker 9: That's why it's free. So everything near where you want
- 1:31:32Speaker 9: to see, parking meters are generally like, oh, jeez, they're
- 1:31:37Speaker 9: like a dollar for like 15 minutes. You know, some
- 1:31:41Speaker 9: shit like that.
- 1:31:41Speaker 10: It's expensive.
- 1:31:42Speaker 7: Sounds like a bargain, sure.
- 1:31:44Speaker 11: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:31:45Speaker 1: Uh-huh.
- 1:31:48Speaker 9: That's the hotel we stayed at.
- 1:31:49Speaker 7: Okay.
- 1:31:54Speaker 2: I was looking at hotels on Hotels.com and I saw
- 1:31:57Speaker 2: this one and I'm like, first of all, it was
- 1:31:59Speaker 2: a cheap hotel.
- 1:32:00Speaker 7: Dirt cheap?
- 1:32:01Speaker 2: It was dirt cheap.
- 1:32:02Speaker 9: Because we're cheap.
- 1:32:04Speaker 2: And as I was reading the reviews and they were like,
- 1:32:08Speaker 2: This is the hotel from the Dirty Deeds Done Dirt
- 1:32:09Speaker 2: Cheap album. I don't know why they're not selling that more.
- 1:32:12Speaker 2: Why are they not advertising that this is the fucking
- 1:32:15Speaker 2: hotel from ACDC's Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap? Why is
- 1:32:20Speaker 2: that not your fucking main selling point?
- 1:32:23Speaker 9: Well, here's one of the main reasons. One, because it's
- 1:32:25Speaker 9: in Pico Riviera, which is a high, high Latino community.
- 1:32:32Speaker 9: So generally, white people don't go in Pico Riviera.
- 1:32:36Speaker 2: I'm looking at the album cover right now.
- 1:32:38Speaker 7: There's a bunch of white people there.
- 1:32:39Speaker 10: Look at them.
- 1:32:40Speaker 9: How many fucking years ago was that? A long damn
- 1:32:43Speaker 9: time ago. A whole bunch of white people on that cover.
- 1:32:49Speaker 9: If you're in Pico Riviera and you're white.
- 1:32:51Speaker 2: I'm kind of bummed now because according to this album,
- 1:32:53Speaker 2: they have waterbeds.
- 1:32:54Speaker 10: What?
- 1:32:56Speaker 7: You kind of missed your window on the waterbeds.
- 1:32:58Speaker 2: King-size waterbeds. We're head at Angel's Hotel.
- 1:33:01Speaker 7: Wait a minute, wait a minute, wait a minute.
- 1:33:02Speaker 2: That's the lobby.
- 1:33:04Speaker 9: Where's the lobby? Oh, that is the lobby, isn't it?
- 1:33:07Speaker 9: Who the fuck's got a Citroen? Do they even bring
- 1:33:12Speaker 9: Citroens here?
- 1:33:12Speaker 2: Apparently they did for the Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap
- 1:33:16Speaker 2: album cover.
- 1:33:16Speaker 7: Oh, I see.
- 1:33:17Speaker 3: Waterbed.
- 1:33:18Speaker 9: Yeah, you know, they probably had problems with that.
- 1:33:21Speaker 7: Probably.
- 1:33:22Speaker 9: And they moved the sign, too. The sign wasn't on
- 1:33:24Speaker 9: the lobby. Now it's out. Because the sign that was
- 1:33:28Speaker 9: on the lobby is now further out.
- 1:33:31Speaker 2: But it's the same place.
- 1:33:32Speaker 9: It's the same place, yeah. And really, Pico Riviera is
- 1:33:36Speaker 9: actually kind of a, I thought it was kind of
- 1:33:38Speaker 9: a neat little town. I mean, it's still part of LA,
- 1:33:41Speaker 9: but yeah, if you're scared of being a minority, you
- 1:33:48Speaker 9: probably shouldn't go there. But, you know, if you used
- 1:33:51Speaker 9: to be in a minority, then it's not that big
- 1:33:53Speaker 9: a deal. Best donuts ever. Best donuts ever. Yeah, because
- 1:33:57Speaker 9: I think they've only got like a 4% Only 4%
- 1:34:00Speaker 9: of the population in Pico Rivera is white. So, what
- 1:34:04Speaker 9: was the name of the donut place?
- 1:34:07Speaker 7: Yum Yum Donuts?
- 1:34:08Speaker 9: Or Yum Yum Donut Shop?
- 1:34:10Speaker 8: Yes.
- 1:34:11Speaker 9: Is that a franchise?
- 1:34:12Speaker 2: I have no idea, but Yum Yum Donut Shop, at
- 1:34:15Speaker 2: least the one in Pico Rivera, or down the street
- 1:34:17Speaker 2: from our hotel if it's actually fucking delicious.
- 1:34:20Speaker 9: Is it Pico Rivera or Pico Riviera?
- 1:34:22Speaker 7: Whatever.
- 1:34:23Speaker 2: I don't know, but the package says fabulous.
- 1:34:27Speaker 7: It must be fabulous.
- 1:34:31Speaker 9: Maybe it is Pico Rivera. All this time I've been
- 1:34:33Speaker 9: calling it Riviera. I am so just not even right.
- 1:34:39Speaker 7: Well, you know what?
- 1:34:39Speaker 9: I don't pronounce things right most of the time. But
- 1:34:42Speaker 9: it's like right next to East LA.
- 1:34:45Speaker 2: Went to Chinatown where they had a huge statue of
- 1:34:47Speaker 2: Bruce Lee.
- 1:34:47Speaker 7: Which was an extravaganza.
- 1:34:49Speaker 9: Well, yeah, it's Chinatown.
- 1:34:52Speaker 3: That's awesome.
- 1:34:54Speaker 2: Trying to make sure I got everything covered because I
- 1:34:55Speaker 2: don't want a missing thing too awesome. I did walk
- 1:34:57Speaker 2: down the street and I saw Only two stars because
- 1:35:00Speaker 2: I didn't walk down the streets of L.A. because parking sucks,
- 1:35:04Speaker 2: so boyfriend wasn't going to park and walk somewhere. So
- 1:35:06Speaker 2: I only saw two stars worth mentioning. I passed by
- 1:35:11Speaker 2: Tom Jones, the star, and George A.
- 1:35:13Speaker 7: Ramirez.
- 1:35:14Speaker 9: Well, like I said, parking is like, what, a dollar
- 1:35:16Speaker 9: for 15 minutes?
- 1:35:17Speaker 2: If you could even find parking.
- 1:35:18Speaker 9: If you could even find a fucking meter. Anywhere near
- 1:35:21Speaker 9: where we wanted to go was already filled up. And
- 1:35:25Speaker 9: they are very militant about parking. Towing people off as
- 1:35:28Speaker 9: soon as their time runs out. So, you know, it
- 1:35:33Speaker 9: was a lot of me just, you know, kind of
- 1:35:34Speaker 9: drive by and then dropping her off and then circling
- 1:35:37Speaker 9: the block and picking her up.
- 1:35:39Speaker 7: You know.
- 1:35:40Speaker 9: Having a, like.
- 1:35:41Speaker 2: I had to get my squish pennies, goddammit.
- 1:35:42Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 1:35:43Speaker 9: Having to park in areas that weren't actually parking areas.
- 1:35:45Speaker 9: Pretending like I was looking at my phone trying to
- 1:35:47Speaker 9: figure out where to go.
- 1:35:48Speaker 2: Yeah. I just want to say that roads all across
- 1:35:51Speaker 2: the country suck, so anybody who wants to bitch about
- 1:35:53Speaker 2: Indiana can fuck off, because you know what? We just
- 1:35:56Speaker 2: drove to California, so roads suck everywhere.
- 1:36:00Speaker 9: Anywhere there's a big city, it's going to suck. It's
- 1:36:03Speaker 9: going to suck worse.
- 1:36:04Speaker 2: We drove through the middle of goddamn nowhere, and roads
- 1:36:06Speaker 2: still sucked.
- 1:36:08Speaker 9: It sucks worse if you've got a slam dirt nasty
- 1:36:11Speaker 9: car with coilovers.
- 1:36:16Speaker 7: So, in addition to Kathleen, thank you to Days of
- 1:36:19Speaker 7: the Dead for letting us come hang out and be
- 1:36:21Speaker 7: part of the show. They've got, I'd say, you know,
- 1:36:25Speaker 7: come back next year. Like, you know, I tell people
- 1:36:27Speaker 7: with a lot of these places we go. But this one,
- 1:36:29Speaker 7: you don't even have to wait that long because they've
- 1:36:31Speaker 7: lined up a whole series of them.
- 1:36:33Speaker 2: They're everywhere now.
- 1:36:34Speaker 7: So, they're, yeah.
- 1:36:35Speaker 2: They were even in Vegas when we were in Vegas.
- 1:36:37Speaker 2: We almost went.
- 1:36:38Speaker 7: They're following you.
- 1:36:39Speaker 2: Because we almost went because it had somebody's boyfriend we
- 1:36:43Speaker 2: actually got excited about for like five minutes, but I
- 1:36:44Speaker 2: knew it wasn't going to last.
- 1:36:46Speaker 9: Well, no, I still would have been excited about it.
- 1:36:48Speaker 1: I just.
- 1:36:50Speaker 9: We were in Vegas, and I figured we were trying
- 1:36:52Speaker 9: to set some other stuff up because I was meeting
- 1:36:54Speaker 9: some guys from the Element group.
- 1:36:55Speaker 2: So instead of going to the convention, we spent the
- 1:36:57Speaker 2: entire afternoon driving around taking photos of Elements.
- 1:37:02Speaker 9: Which is mostly just my car.
- 1:37:04Speaker 7: Which is a vehicle, if you're not familiar with it.
- 1:37:06Speaker 3: It's a car.
- 1:37:08Speaker 2: Yeah, him and some guy that we just met driving
- 1:37:10Speaker 2: around taking pictures of the two of their cars together.
- 1:37:13Speaker 9: In different spots in.
- 1:37:16Speaker 7: We talk about a lot of dorky things. That's equally
- 1:37:19Speaker 7: as dorky as the rest of the stuff we do.
- 1:37:21Speaker 9: It's car dork stuff.
- 1:37:22Speaker 7: It's a different mode, but equally as dorky. So yes,
- 1:37:28Speaker 7: they followed you to Vegas. We were just in Indianapolis.
- 1:37:31Speaker 7: They're coming to Louisville.
- 1:37:33Speaker 2: Are they going to be in Atlanta too?
- 1:37:34Speaker 7: They're going to be in Charlotte. They're going to be
- 1:37:36Speaker 7: in Dallas. They're going to be in Chicago and eventually
- 1:37:39Speaker 7: back in Atlanta. So yeah, they are always working on
- 1:37:42Speaker 7: another one. So go to days of the dead.com and
- 1:37:46Speaker 7: see which city you need to go to and what
- 1:37:48Speaker 7: guests are going to be there. All that aside, it's
- 1:37:51Speaker 7: been a great day. So we got to go see
- 1:37:54Speaker 7: celebrities and hang out with the superstar and.
- 1:37:57Speaker 2: Bought some cool, awesome lost boys art.
- 1:37:59Speaker 7: Bought some cool artwork, went to the bookstore. Of course, anytime,
- 1:38:04Speaker 7: anytime we're out in the world, we start looking for
- 1:38:06Speaker 7: bookstores and which that just means I can go buy toys.
- 1:38:09Speaker 7: And so I, again, I have to buy small toys,
- 1:38:12Speaker 7: but I, Legos. I'm looking for Legos is what I'm saying.
- 1:38:16Speaker 7: Minifigures is all I can afford. They have giant sets too,
- 1:38:19Speaker 7: but I can't do those.
- 1:38:20Speaker 3: So just a.
- 1:38:21Speaker 7: Few minifigures at a time. I'm making progress.
- 1:38:24Speaker 3: All right.
- 1:38:25Speaker 7: Well, I'd say that is the way to cap off
- 1:38:27Speaker 7: this awesome day. Otherwise, that about does it we will
- 1:38:30Speaker 7: return next time same geek feed thanks for listening bye
- 1:38:33Speaker 7: y'all see ya.
- 1:38:35Speaker 14: You had plenty money 1922 you let other.
- 1:38:40Speaker 11: Women make a fool.
- 1:38:43Speaker 3: Of you.
- 1:38:50Speaker 14: Why don't you do.
- 1:38:54Speaker 8: Right Like some other man do Get out.
- 1:39:07Speaker 11: Of here Give me some money too You're sitting down
- 1:39:22Speaker 11: and wondering what it's all about If you ain't got
- 1:39:29Speaker 11: no money they will put.
- 1:39:32Speaker 2: You out Why don't you.
- 1:39:35Speaker 8: Do right Like some other.
- 1:39:41Speaker 1: Man do Get out of here Get me some money
- 1:39:59Speaker 1: too Now.
- 1:40:04Speaker 12: If you had prepared twenty years ago You wouldn't be
- 1:40:14Speaker 12: a wanderer now from door to door.
- 1:40:18Speaker 10: Why don't you do Like some other.
- 1:40:25Speaker 1: Man do Get out of here Get me some money.
- 1:40:32Speaker 14: Too Get out of here. Get me some money too.
- 1:40:56Speaker 3: Why don't you do the life like some other man?
- 1:41:37Speaker 9: What did you misread?
- 1:41:40Speaker 2: You get excited about people that you think are going
- 1:41:41Speaker 2: to be like.
- 1:41:42Speaker 7: At the next one coming up, and it's the one
- 1:41:44Speaker 7: after that.
- 1:41:45Speaker 2: Because you see it and you're like, okay, coming up,
- 1:41:48Speaker 2: coming up. Oh, wait, no.
- 1:41:49Speaker 9: Well, I usually don't know.
- 1:41:50Speaker 3: You guys tell me.
- 1:41:51Speaker 9: And then for the rest of the week, I still
- 1:41:53Speaker 9: don't know until we're there.
- 1:41:54Speaker 7: And then you're there and you're like, who's that?
- 1:41:56Speaker 9: I'm like, who is this again?
- 1:41:57Speaker 7: Damn it, we already covered this.
- 1:42:00Speaker 2: Welcome to my life.
- 1:42:03Speaker 9: And again, it's not because... They're not important.
- 1:42:07Speaker 7: No, no.
- 1:42:07Speaker 9: Or the movies aren't important.
- 1:42:08Speaker 7: That's never the case.
- 1:42:10Speaker 9: I've just been hit in the head a whole lot.
- 1:42:11Speaker 7: Brain doesn't work exactly normal.
- 1:42:14Speaker 11: It's okay.
- 1:42:14Speaker 9: It's traumatic brain injuries.
- 1:42:16Speaker 2: Well, if you'd quit running about at the mouth like
- 1:42:18Speaker 2: you do.
- 1:42:20Speaker 9: Stop hitting me.
- 1:42:20Speaker 7: He's having enough problems.
- 1:42:22Speaker 9: Don't make it worse.
- 1:42:25Speaker 2: Domestic abuse is never okay.
- 1:42:27Speaker 3: Yeah, we're just joking.
- 1:42:28Speaker 7: It's not really a thing.
- 1:42:29Speaker 3: Don't do that.
- 1:42:30Speaker 7: In any direction. Guys, girls, leave each other alone.
- 1:42:32Speaker 2: Unless he's snoring really loud.
- 1:42:34Speaker 7: That's between you guys. I'm staying out of this.
- 1:42:38Speaker 2: He doesn't remember.
- 1:42:39Speaker 9: I just wake up sore the next day. I get
- 1:42:44Speaker 9: beat in my sleep.
