- 0:00Speaker 1: It's national Don't Waste My Time Day one more thing.
- 0:04Speaker 2: I'm strong and getty.
- 0:09Speaker 1: Doing this more or less as a public service announcement.
- 0:12Speaker 1: I don't remember when it was that Joe brought us
- 0:14Speaker 1: this information. The first time, I was unaware of it.
- 0:17Speaker 1: I never took it very seriously when I would hear
- 0:20Speaker 1: that it's National Golden Retriever Day or whatever. But Joe
- 0:26Speaker 1: brought us the information that there's a bunch of different
- 0:28Speaker 1: what websites and organizations where you can just pay them
- 0:30Speaker 1: to get on the list.
- 0:32Speaker 2: Right. Yeah, it's like buying a star.
- 0:38Speaker 1: And there's several different organizations that say you'll be the
- 0:41Speaker 1: official day and you give them a thousand bucks and
- 0:44Speaker 1: then they send it to I don't know, to radio
- 0:46Speaker 1: stations and TV stations or whatever. You're making a confused
- 0:49Speaker 1: face there.
- 0:50Speaker 3: No, I'm just I'm listening closely, is what I'm doing.
- 0:54Speaker 1: But you know, you've been on the radio for years,
- 0:56Speaker 1: You've mentioned this before, and usually it's just kind of
- 0:58Speaker 1: a funny conversation start. But they're completely meaningless. They don't
- 1:02Speaker 1: mean anything. I mean like nothing, right.
- 1:05Speaker 3: And there's usually like duplicates.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Oh absolutely, well, let me give you to day and
- 1:10Speaker 1: This is just one of the many national day calendar
- 1:12Speaker 1: organizations where you can sign up. It is National cream
- 1:16Speaker 1: Pie Day. It's also Strawberry Month, so you get those
- 1:22Speaker 1: mixed up.
- 1:22Speaker 2: Hey, do the math. Huh.
- 1:24Speaker 1: It's National Student Nurse Day, you know, and somewhere colleges
- 1:28Speaker 1: across the country they're bringing in donuts or doing whatever
- 1:30Speaker 1: because it's National Student Nurse Day, National Third Shift Workers Day,
- 1:34Speaker 1: It's National have a Coke Day. Coca Cola paid for that,
- 1:37Speaker 1: National Coconut Cream Pie Day. It's National Nurse Day. Oh,
- 1:41Speaker 1: National Nurses Week.
- 1:43Speaker 3: Yes, I saw that.
- 1:44Speaker 4: It's both cream Pie Day and Coconut cream Pie Day.
- 1:48Speaker 1: All right, It's a National Receptionists Day, and it goes
- 1:55Speaker 1: on and on on. So just alerting you to the
- 1:58Speaker 1: fact that this is all complete bs. And I mean
- 2:01Speaker 1: there's nothing wrong with Hey, it's National Barbecue Chicken Day,
- 2:03Speaker 1: so I brought in barbecue chicken. Doesn't make it not
- 2:06Speaker 1: worth eating or whatever. But it's all completely made up.
- 2:09Speaker 1: I mean, you might as well just make it up
- 2:11Speaker 1: in your mind. On the way to work. It's National
- 2:16Speaker 1: your second toes longer than your big toe Day, so
- 2:18Speaker 1: I brought in socks or something.
- 2:20Speaker 4: Now, when Congress declares it. Now that has the official
- 2:26Speaker 4: weight and importance and historical significance.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Nothing.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Yeah, even when Congress declares it, it means nothing. But these
- 2:36Speaker 1: are so again on this particular website. It's tomorrow, so
- 2:39Speaker 1: you can prepare ahead of time. National Home Front Heroes Day,
- 2:42Speaker 1: that's nice. National Alphabet magnet Day. What the hell? What
- 2:46Speaker 1: does magnets you put on your fridge? There's a national
- 2:49Speaker 1: day for that?
- 2:50Speaker 4: I remember what was the one that got real popular
- 2:54Speaker 4: there for a while where they gave you bunches of
- 2:56Speaker 4: different words so you could arrange them and make sentences
- 2:59Speaker 4: on your friends. That was great fun in my house.
- 3:02Speaker 4: That was popular for a while. Yeah, we had those
- 3:04Speaker 4: two when the kids were younger. That's a good time.
- 3:06Speaker 3: I had the inappropriate version.
- 3:09Speaker 2: I've seen that.
- 3:10Speaker 1: This was a lot of fun. That's pretty funny.
- 3:12Speaker 3: I can see you playing that.
- 3:14Speaker 1: Tomorrow's National loss sock Day.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Oh boy, what the hell does that mean?
- 3:18Speaker 1: National Moscato Day? What's moscato? Is that a drink?
- 3:21Speaker 4: It's a sweetish wine, not sweetish sweetish wine.
- 3:25Speaker 3: I do want to know where my socks are going, though.
- 3:27Speaker 1: God, how dang it? Because I buy expensive socks, so
- 3:31Speaker 1: I try to be really careful with it. Yeah, and
- 3:33Speaker 1: they disappear and they're like, that's not possible. It couldn't
- 3:37Speaker 1: have left the house. There's only a few places it
- 3:39Speaker 1: could be.
- 3:40Speaker 3: What the hell I do the laundry, And when I
- 3:42Speaker 3: put them in the wash they were a pair. And
- 3:45Speaker 3: when I took them out of the dryer, one was gone,
- 3:48Speaker 3: and I don't know what happened in between.
- 3:51Speaker 4: Adhered to the leg of a pair of pants you
- 3:53Speaker 4: haven't worn yet. Oh, it's clinging, clinging.
- 3:58Speaker 1: I have found them occasionally inside like fitted bed sheet.
- 4:01Speaker 2: Sure that happens to get down there.
- 4:03Speaker 3: Yeah, but some have just vanished.
- 4:05Speaker 4: Yeah, well, this was a little premature. Since National loss
- 4:08Speaker 4: sock Day is tomorrow, I don't want to steal anybody's thunder.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Tomorrow is also National butter Scotch Brownie Day, which I've
- 4:16Speaker 1: never had. Oh what, never had.
- 4:18Speaker 4: A butter You gotta lead the Add that to the
- 4:22Speaker 4: list of things Jack has never done.
- 4:24Speaker 1: I'd never even heard of a butter scotch brownie.
- 4:25Speaker 2: You're kidding.
- 4:26Speaker 3: No, I haven't either.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Oh, you're abused as a child, so you see you're
- 4:30Speaker 1: a weirdo.
- 4:32Speaker 3: Majority world.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Oh, butter scotch brownie is so good.
- 4:40Speaker 1: And then we'll go to the tenth two days.
- 4:42Speaker 4: Technically it's more an orangey or tanny than a brownie. Oh,
- 4:46Speaker 4: I guess it's a light brownie.
- 4:48Speaker 1: I admire more people who just recognize how things are
- 4:51Speaker 1: going and take advantage of it. So you got a
- 4:53Speaker 1: product or whatever. I mean, like, if we were smart,
- 4:56Speaker 1: we would have given five hundred bucks to some calendar
- 4:59Speaker 1: years ago and and National Radio Talk Show Host Day
- 5:03Speaker 1: or something and made a deal out of it.
- 5:07Speaker 4: Do you remember on your birthday I had the Kansas
- 5:11Speaker 4: I think it was the Kansas Pork producers to clear
- 5:13Speaker 4: you their man of the Year something like that because
- 5:15Speaker 4: you ate so much pork.
- 5:16Speaker 1: Yeah, that's cool, that's a good gift. National Friday, National
- 5:21Speaker 1: clean Up your Room Day is that day, National Washington Day,
- 5:24Speaker 1: which might actually be a thing, National Shrimp Day, m M,
- 5:28Speaker 1: National Military Spouse Appreciation Day, which is not nice but
- 5:31Speaker 1: made up. And then this one National Lipid Day whatever
- 5:37Speaker 1: your lipids are, fat fat fat Day, but again this
- 5:43Speaker 1: was a National dog Mom Day is on Saturday.
- 5:47Speaker 3: I appreciate that one.
- 5:49Speaker 1: Oh I don't like do not like that term?
- 5:52Speaker 2: You did?
- 5:52Speaker 3: Make sure I bring my fir mom mug tomorrow.
- 5:54Speaker 1: Unless you gave birth to that dog and you have
- 5:57Speaker 1: video to prove it. I do not want to hear
- 5:59Speaker 1: anybody and so a dog mom, Well if that happened,
- 6:02Speaker 1: uh is the father here? Well, Satan is the father.
- 6:06Speaker 2: He couldn't be here if you do have video, I
- 6:08Speaker 2: don't want to see it. Right, Oh my god?
- 6:10Speaker 4: Can you imagine it just gives birth to a dog,
- 6:13Speaker 4: You'd have nightmares for the rest of your life. It
- 6:15Speaker 4: can mean somebody is now producing that via AI as
- 6:19Speaker 4: we speak.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Ugh, so terrible.
- 6:24Speaker 1: National Babysitters Day, National Train Day, National Twilight Zone Day,
- 6:27Speaker 1: whatever that is? National Miniature Golf Day. National Archery Day
- 6:31Speaker 1: is Saturday. National Foam Rolling Day. Finally, I have a
- 6:37Speaker 1: phone roller.
- 6:38Speaker 3: I love my phone roller.
- 6:39Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 6:40Speaker 1: National Eat what you Want Day, That's every day in
- 6:42Speaker 1: my world.
- 6:43Speaker 2: Please. Yeah.
- 6:44Speaker 1: I'm kind of just curious to see what is on
- 6:46Speaker 1: Mother's Day? National sapphire Day. Mother's Day, it says here,
- 6:51Speaker 1: National fiberl Majalia Awareness Day, whatever that is, National nutty
- 6:56Speaker 1: Fudge Day, National odometerter Day. Wow, National odometer Day. What
- 7:03Speaker 1: the hell is that?
- 7:05Speaker 2: How do I know? How far?
- 7:06Speaker 1: How did they get that going? What am I supposed
- 7:09Speaker 1: to do. Hmmm, National Limerick Day with there once was
- 7:14Speaker 1: a man from Nantucket. But this does remind me this
- 7:18Speaker 1: is worth doing. The last several Mothers Days, look for
- 7:22Speaker 1: the articles. They'll be online Saturday night in the New
- 7:25Speaker 1: York Times, in the Washington Post, a whole bunch of
- 7:28Speaker 1: down with Mom sort of columns in the newspaper. That
- 7:32Speaker 1: has become a thing the last couple of years.
- 7:35Speaker 3: I've missed that.
- 7:36Speaker 4: Should celebrate motherhood because that makes women without children feel bad.
- 7:41Speaker 2: That crapper, just.
- 7:45Speaker 1: A way to turn Mother's Day into something negative. It's
- 7:47Speaker 1: it's a variety of different ways they go about it.
- 7:50Speaker 1: I didn't have kids, and I've never been happier, So
- 7:52Speaker 1: a long column about that, you know, just crap like that,
- 7:56Speaker 1: and so just.
- 7:57Speaker 4: Constant clickbait and pandering to various constituencies. It's just so tiresome.
- 8:02Speaker 1: Yeah, and you will hear. I'm guessing this has been
- 8:05Speaker 1: the last couple of years. Is there any chance this
- 8:07Speaker 1: has been stamped out the whole woke? Yeah, National mirth,
- 8:11Speaker 1: chest feeding people or whatever they call.
- 8:13Speaker 4: It, chest feeders. Oh, this is interesting. The day after
- 8:17Speaker 4: Mother's Day is National Punch. A columnist in the face
- 8:19Speaker 4: day huh, don't punch anybody.
- 8:22Speaker 2: It was a joke.
- 8:26Speaker 3: Well, I guess that's it.
