Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Off the bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Hands to Hester, and Hester, yep, got it, five out
- 0:07Speaker 2: of five.
- 0:07Speaker 1: From carrying each other to a natty to carrying each
- 0:10Speaker 1: other on the air.
- 0:11Speaker 3: Flynn is back to throw for the end zone.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Goal.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Live from the Raising Cane Studio, it's Off the Bench.
- 0:19Speaker 3: I can't stand it.
- 0:28Speaker 4: Welcome back here off the bench. Our number three on
- 0:32Speaker 4: a football Friday. And it's kind of like the football Friday. Everybody,
- 0:38Speaker 4: the juices are flowing. It's not like a billion degrees outside.
- 0:42Speaker 4: It's still 78 degrees here in the capital city. We
- 0:46Speaker 4: are very close to the gates of LSU here at
- 0:49Speaker 4: Rouse's on Burbank. Come check us out. We're here for
- 0:52Speaker 4: another hour. Just locking it in, getting ready, smelling the food.
- 0:57Speaker 4: My sushi guy back there working his tail off. So
- 1:00Speaker 4: come grab some stuff. Come check us out over here
- 1:02Speaker 4: at Rouse's. I want to tell you about our friends
- 1:04Speaker 4: over at Bayou Automotive, bayouautomotive.com. If you're driving around listening
- 1:08Speaker 4: to us, maybe you went to carpool, maybe you're driving
- 1:11Speaker 4: to work, maybe you're going to get a little breakfast,
- 1:13Speaker 4: whatever it is, and you're looking around your car like, man,
- 1:15Speaker 4: this is a piece of junk. I'm ready for a
- 1:17Speaker 4: new car, a new vehicle. Well, there's no better place
- 1:19Speaker 4: to do it than Bayou Automotive, a fantastic dealership over there.
- 1:24Speaker 4: in La Paz, but you don't have to go there.
- 1:26Speaker 4: Guess what? You can go shop for that brand new
- 1:28Speaker 4: car from the comfort of your own home, and maybe
- 1:30Speaker 4: you can shop for that new car in the comfort
- 1:32Speaker 4: of your current vehicle, right there on that iPhone, that smartphone,
- 1:36Speaker 4: whatever you got. You just order it. They got two
- 1:38Speaker 4: full-time drivers on staff. They will drive it right to you.
- 1:41Speaker 4: Doesn't matter. It's so easy. They make the process. Completely easy.
- 1:45Speaker 4: And you can look cool even if you're Jake's age.
- 1:47Speaker 4: And you're not cool to your teenage kids. One of us. Well,
- 1:52Speaker 4: you can get a car that makes you look cool
- 1:54Speaker 4: or makes you go fast or sits more people. It
- 1:56Speaker 4: doesn't really matter.
- 1:57Speaker 3: You see it out there.
- 1:57Speaker 4: I see it, Bronco.
- 1:58Speaker 3: You see that all black Bronco.
- 2:00Speaker 4: I see you.
- 2:00Speaker 3: You see it.
- 2:01Speaker 4: Go to bodyautomotive.com.
- 2:03Speaker 3: All right. It is nine o'clock on a football Friday.
- 2:06Speaker 3: So that starts our number three, as Matt said. And well,
- 2:09Speaker 3: we like to play our favorite games at 9 a.m.
- 2:13Speaker 3: And so we'll start it off with a little what's
- 2:15Speaker 3: the ticket. We'll also have a little pontoon parlay in
- 2:19Speaker 3: the next segment. We'll break down LSU and the New
- 2:23Speaker 3: Orleans Saints one final time. And then we'll get to
- 2:26Speaker 3: your questions, of course, with a little Ask the Bench
- 2:29Speaker 3: brought to you by Dos Equis to wrap it up. Now,
- 2:33Speaker 3: I will say this, and maybe we start doing this
- 2:35Speaker 3: a little bit because it's actually pretty fun to do
- 2:37Speaker 3: it in the NFL as well as far as, like,
- 2:40Speaker 3: what's the ticket. There's some crazy prices in the NFL.
- 2:44Speaker 3: We're not going to do that. But next week I
- 2:46Speaker 3: do want to add maybe this to what we do because, like,
- 2:50Speaker 3: the highest ticket in the NFL this weekend– The Bears
- 2:55Speaker 3: and Vikings, $ 250. Okay. To get into the stadium. So,
- 3:00Speaker 3: that's a pretty big ticket in the NFL. And last week,
- 3:05Speaker 3: it was, like, even more.
- 3:06Speaker 4: I was wondering if you were going to say that
- 3:08Speaker 4: was a big ticket or a low ticket. I don't
- 3:10Speaker 4: even know how to compare them.
- 3:11Speaker 3: Like, $ 250, I mean, a lot of times in, like,
- 3:14Speaker 3: the college, like, what's the ticket? It's usually somewhere in
- 3:17Speaker 3: the $ 125 range. Like, unless you have something crazy.
- 3:20Speaker 4: But usually, NFL... stadium seat less than a lot of
- 3:24Speaker 4: colleges do as well so actually i've never even looked
- 3:27Speaker 4: at an nfl ticket.
- 3:28Speaker 3: Price 250 bucks um so you're not gonna have like
- 3:31Speaker 3: the the four dollar tickets like you have in the
- 3:34Speaker 3: nfl although this one is surprising the lowest ticket in
- 3:38Speaker 3: the nfl thirty dollars for commanders and cowboys division rivals
- 3:44Speaker 3: cowboys typically have yeah in dallas Cowboys typically have a
- 3:48Speaker 3: good crowd. They are not happy about that loss to
- 3:50Speaker 3: the Giants. So the cheapest ticket, $ 30.
- 3:52Speaker 4: Cowboys better win that one. There's a lot of preseason
- 3:56Speaker 4: hype towards them. If they don't win that and they
- 3:58Speaker 4: go 0-2 in their division, they're just going to be upset.
- 4:02Speaker 3: I will say this. Saints-Ravens, one of the highest tickets
- 4:06Speaker 3: in the NFL. $ 139, cheapest ticket to get into that game,
- 4:09Speaker 3: Saints and Ravens. All right, but we're not here to
- 4:11Speaker 3: talk about NFL ticket prices. That's maybe next week. Let's
- 4:15Speaker 3: do college ticket prices. And if you're new to the show,
- 4:18Speaker 3: what's the ticket? It is a top 25 game. It
- 4:22Speaker 3: only has to involve at least one top 25 team.
- 4:25Speaker 3: We go across the country. We've been doing this for
- 4:27Speaker 3: eight years now. What is the lowest get-in price and
- 4:30Speaker 3: what is the highest get-in price? And we'll always start
- 4:34Speaker 3: with the lowest ticket price. And by the way, no
- 4:40Speaker 3: LSU and Ole Miss is not on the table today. Okay.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:43Speaker 3: That'd be easy. We're not doing easy here. So that's
- 4:46Speaker 3: off the board. Get it out of here. Yeah.
- 4:48Speaker 4: Okay.
- 4:49Speaker 3: We're going lowest ticket price, Alondra and Tay-Tay. Here we go.
- 4:54Speaker 3: Is it Miami at Wake Forest? Is it Georgia at Arkansas?
- 5:00Speaker 3: Is it Buffalo at Penn State? Is it Portland State
- 5:05Speaker 3: at Oregon? Is it Troy at Missouri? Or is it
- 5:10Speaker 3: UTEP at Michigan? So Miami, Wake Forest, Georgia, Arkansas, Buffalo,
- 5:16Speaker 3: Penn State, Portland State, Oregon, Troy, Missouri, UTEP, and Michigan.
- 5:22Speaker 3: And we'll start back in studio with Alondra and Tay-Tay.
- 5:28Speaker 2: So last year, Tay-Tay brought up if it's Miami, it's
- 5:30Speaker 2: probably the lowest ticket. But I think that it being
- 5:33Speaker 2: in Wake Forest also makes that more likely. I think
- 5:37Speaker 2: they care more about baseball than they do football up there.
- 5:40Speaker 2: So I'm going to go Miami.
- 5:41Speaker 4: At Wake Forest. Jake, real quick, did you say the
- 5:44Speaker 4: game was at Arkansas or at Georgia? It's at Arkansas.
- 5:48Speaker 5: Okay, yeah, I'm going to go Georgia at Arkansas. That
- 5:51Speaker 5: program has given up. There was a golf course out
- 5:53Speaker 5: there in the Fayetteville area that said, hey, don't want
- 5:56Speaker 5: to go watch the game? Come play a round of
- 5:57Speaker 5: golf with us for only $ 25. They are done. I'm
- 6:00Speaker 5: going to say that at home, Arkansas is the lowest
- 6:03Speaker 5: ticket price.
- 6:05Speaker 3: Dang. Like that?
- 6:08Speaker 4: That's a good one, too. Okay, I'm going to go.
- 6:12Speaker 4: I thought about UTEP Michigan because of the size of
- 6:15Speaker 4: the stadium, but I guess coming off a win. I'm
- 6:17Speaker 4: going to go.
- 6:18Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, the big house, right?
- 6:20Speaker 4: I'm going to go Buffalo at Penn State.
- 6:23Speaker 3: All right, we'll go with the most expensive ticket, and
- 6:25Speaker 3: we'll work our way down to the least expensive ticket.
- 6:29Speaker 3: At the highest ticket here in the lower category, it
- 6:32Speaker 3: is Miami at Wake Forest. $ 63 gets you into that game.
- 6:38Speaker 3: Coming in next is going to be UTEP at Michigan.
- 6:43Speaker 3: $ 25 gets you into that game. Coming in next would
- 6:47Speaker 3: be Troy at Missouri. $ 19 to get in price. The
- 6:53Speaker 3: next one would be Georgia at Arkansas, $ 13 to get
- 6:58Speaker 3: into that game. Moving on, it would be Buffalo at
- 7:02Speaker 3: Penn State, $ 12 to get you into that game. And
- 7:06Speaker 3: the lowest ticket involving at least one top 25 team
- 7:09Speaker 3: this week, Portland State at Oregon for $ 11. So a
- 7:14Speaker 3: single dollar beats out the Buffalo at Penn State. So
- 7:18Speaker 3: Portland State, Oregon. Oregon coming off an embarrassing loss to
- 7:22Speaker 3: Oklahoma State. Portland State's 0-3 already on the year. $ 11
- 7:26Speaker 3: gets you in to the stadium.
- 7:29Speaker 4: That's Oregon giving up.
- 7:30Speaker 6: Is it time?
- 7:31Speaker 4: Is it time for our guy Dylan? I think it's time.
- 7:34Speaker 3: Wait.
- 7:36Speaker 4: Dylan Rola.
- 7:37Speaker 6: Is that?
- 7:37Speaker 4: Okay, so last year he played for Nebraska.
- 7:40Speaker 3: Right.
- 7:42Speaker 4: This year he just transferred to Oregon.
- 7:44Speaker 3: Oh, yeah, that's right. Yeah.
- 7:45Speaker 4: That's right.
- 7:46Speaker 3: Breaking news?
- 7:47Speaker 4: Breaking news.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Wait, because Dante Moore went to the NFL, right?
- 7:49Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 7:52Speaker 4: No, he actually just got back to Oregon.
- 7:54Speaker 3: That's crazy. That's crazy.
- 7:56Speaker 4: Yeah, it's wild. Dante Moore actually has not improved any.
- 8:00Speaker 6: No. Yeah. He's not.
- 8:01Speaker 4: Hadn't looked very good.
- 8:02Speaker 3: He's not.
- 8:03Speaker 4: It's time for Dylan Rowland. The experiment, the Dante Moore
- 8:06Speaker 4: experiment is over, okay?
- 8:08Speaker 3: There you go. Some are saying it.
- 8:09Speaker 4: Some are saying it.
- 8:10Speaker 3: And Matt Flynn's the one saying it.
- 8:11Speaker 4: Still in time.
- 8:12Speaker 3: All right, so let's go to the highest ticket. And LSU,
- 8:16Speaker 3: Ole Miss, you're off the board.
- 8:17Speaker 4: Yeah, because you're like 800.
- 8:19Speaker 3: Okay. Right now, LSU at Ole Miss, the get-in price,
- 8:23Speaker 3: two feet inside the stadium. This isn't the most expensive ticket.
- 8:27Speaker 3: That would be a much larger number. The cheapest ticket
- 8:30Speaker 3: right now, $ 620.
- 8:31Speaker 4: Whoa!
- 8:33Speaker 3: Is that our record? I think it is. Last week
- 8:36Speaker 3: there was.
- 8:36Speaker 2: A $ 475.
- 8:37Speaker 3: We had a whiteout at Penn State that was like $ 425. Before.
- 8:42Speaker 3: Last week there was one Texas Ohio State was $ 475.
- 8:46Speaker 3: That set the record for the highest we've ever had
- 8:48Speaker 3: in our eight year run of what's the ticket. That
- 8:50Speaker 3: has been beat. It is now LSU at Ole Miss.
- 8:53Speaker 3: $ 620 to get All 10 piggies inside the stadium there.
- 9:00Speaker 4: All 10 piggies.
- 9:01Speaker 3: I like that. All 10 piggies. All right. Here are
- 9:03Speaker 3: the list of games because, again, that one's off the board.
- 9:06Speaker 3: That's easy. We don't want easy here. Is it Houston
- 9:09Speaker 3: at Texas Tech? Is it Florida State at Alabama? Is
- 9:15Speaker 3: it SMU at Louisville? Is it Michigan State at Notre Dame?
- 9:22Speaker 3: West Virginia at Virginia? UTSA at Texas. So Houston, Texas Tech,
- 9:30Speaker 3: Florida State, Alabama, SMU, Louisville, Michigan State, Notre Dame, West Virginia, Virginia, UTSA, Texas.
- 9:38Speaker 3: We'll throw it back to studio. Taytay Alondra, highest ticket
- 9:43Speaker 3: in the country.
- 9:45Speaker 2: This one I really don't know, but I think I'm
- 9:50Speaker 2: going to go with Michigan State at Notre Dame.
- 9:56Speaker 6: Perfect.
- 9:58Speaker 5: That was in between two. I'll go the other one.
- 9:59Speaker 5: I'll take Houston at Texas Tech.
- 10:03Speaker 3: All right.
- 10:05Speaker 4: So, Elijah went Michigan State, Notre Dame?
- 10:08Speaker 3: Yeah, and then Tay-Tay went Houston at Texas Tech.
- 10:11Speaker 4: Man, this is a challenging one because there's so many
- 10:13Speaker 4: poo games out there. Some bad games this week. When
- 10:17Speaker 4: you're throwing UTSA into this one. OK, let's go. I'm
- 10:24Speaker 4: going to go SMU at Louisville. All right.
- 10:27Speaker 3: We'll start with the lowest and we'll work our way
- 10:29Speaker 3: all the way up to the top ticket in the country.
- 10:33Speaker 3: Coming in last here in the high category, Florida State
- 10:36Speaker 3: at Alabama. Thirty three dollars for that game. Next up
- 10:41Speaker 3: is SMU at Louisville. That one is $ 34. $ 34? 34 bones.
- 10:46Speaker 3: Come on, Louisville. Coming in next, Houston at Texas Tech, $ 81.
- 10:53Speaker 3: Get you into that game. In third here, West Virginia
- 10:58Speaker 3: at UVA, $ 83. Get you into that game. At number two.
- 11:08Speaker 3: Michigan State and Notre Dame at $ 89. And so that
- 11:12Speaker 3: means the top ticket in the country, the highest get-in
- 11:15Speaker 3: price in the top 25, is UTSA at Texas for $ 115. Because, again,
- 11:24Speaker 3: we took LSU and Ole Miss out of it. $ 620
- 11:27Speaker 3: to get into that contest. So the highest ticket this week,
- 11:32Speaker 3: UTSA at Texas. The lowest is Portland State at Oregon.
- 11:37Speaker 2: That is so dumb because who wants to go watch
- 11:40Speaker 2: UTSA get routed by Texas? Pay money to go do that?
- 11:45Speaker 3: I get it. But, you know, Laundrie, you know how
- 11:48Speaker 3: it is. Texas, number one team in the country now.
- 11:50Speaker 3: They're feeling themselves after last week. They're going to have
- 11:52Speaker 3: the cowboy hats and cowboy boots and big belt buckles
- 11:55Speaker 3: on in the crowd doing the hook'em.
- 11:58Speaker 4: Hook'em.
- 12:00Speaker 2: Hook'em.
- 12:02Speaker 4: All right.
- 12:02Speaker 3: That's going to do it for What's the Ticket?
- 12:04Speaker 4: Interesting.
- 12:05Speaker 3: When we come back.
- 12:06Speaker 4: 620.
- 12:07Speaker 3: It's time for the pontoon parlay.
- 12:11Speaker 4: Holy moly.
- 12:11Speaker 3: We're going to throw out some winners, and it's going
- 12:13Speaker 3: to hit. It's just going to be the wolf pack.
- 12:17Speaker 3: Anytime we try to throw a fifth member into the
- 12:19Speaker 3: wolf pack, it doesn't go well. The only time we've
- 12:21Speaker 3: hit when it's been the wolf pack. So the wolf
- 12:23Speaker 3: pack will give you the four plays, the four winners
- 12:26Speaker 3: on the pontoon parlay when we come back here live
- 12:29Speaker 3: from Rouse's. Off the bench. All right, when you need
- 12:33Speaker 3: reliable waste service from a local company, call our friends

- 13:45Speaker 1: Purple and gold to the core. This is Off the

- 13:52Speaker 1: things Louisiana sports.
- 13:59Speaker 3: Welcome back in OTB. Here live from Rouse's on Burbank
- 14:04Speaker 3: and Lee. Feeling energetic now. Here in hour number three.
- 14:10Speaker 4: Feeling a little spicy. Almost like I went to Rejuvenate.
- 14:12Speaker 3: Oh. RejuvenateMedical.com, 13 locations across Louisiana. You know they got
- 14:17Speaker 3: one in that state to the right of us as well.
- 14:20Speaker 3: So 13 total locations, RejuvenateMedical.com. We don't say that. We
- 14:24Speaker 3: ain't saying it today. Not today. Not on this show.
- 14:27Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 14:27Speaker 4: If you're looking at the state, it's to the right.
- 14:29Speaker 4: If you're looking from the state, it's to the left.
- 14:31Speaker 3: Exactly.
- 14:31Speaker 6: Yep.
- 14:33Speaker 3: Go to rejuvenemedical.com. Look, have a consultation. Get your blood drawn.
- 14:38Speaker 3: Easy process. Five, ten minutes tops. And then they bring
- 14:41Speaker 3: you back and you have that consultation and they already
- 14:43Speaker 3: have the plan ready to go for you. Sit you down.
- 14:46Speaker 3: Walk you through it. I can't encourage you enough to
- 14:49Speaker 3: go get it done. And there's not a reason for
- 14:52Speaker 3: you to not feel youthful. There's not a reason for
- 14:55Speaker 3: you not to have energy when they can put you
- 14:57Speaker 3: on a plan for success. Go to rejuvenemedical.com today to
- 15:00Speaker 3: get that started. All right, it is now time for
- 15:03Speaker 3: the pontoon parlay. All right, so we are going to
- 15:07Speaker 3: give you our four plays for the weekend. We each
- 15:11Speaker 3: give you a pick. We don't let anybody in the
- 15:13Speaker 3: wolf pack anymore. All right, the only time we've hit
- 15:16Speaker 3: is when it's been the wolf pack. All right, so
- 15:17Speaker 3: we're going to give you a four-team parlay. Go ahead
- 15:22Speaker 3: and take it to the bank responsibly.
- 15:25Speaker 4: Yeah, at your own risk. This is not financial advice.
- 15:28Speaker 4: All right, let's... Just as we see it.
- 15:31Speaker 3: Let's throw it back to studio in downtown Baton Rouge
- 15:34Speaker 3: with TayTay and Alondra to give us their picks for
- 15:36Speaker 3: the pontoon parlay.
- 15:38Speaker 2: I feel like we really have to redeem ourselves because
- 15:40Speaker 2: I think that Richard maybe was the only one that
- 15:43Speaker 2: hit last week, and Taylor. So somebody who's not even
- 15:47Speaker 2: in the foxhole hit in TayTay. So I think I'm
- 15:52Speaker 2: going to go with Two Texas teams, Houston versus Texas Tech,
- 16:00Speaker 2: number 22 versus number 13. And they both played Oregon
- 16:05Speaker 2: State and had very similar finishes. Houston just put up 77.
- 16:09Speaker 2: I know Southern, but they still put up 77 points
- 16:12Speaker 2: against them, held them to six. They have a really
- 16:14Speaker 2: good defense. Still not completely sure what Texas Tech is
- 16:17Speaker 2: going to end up being. So I'm going to take
- 16:21Speaker 2: Houston to cover in that game. I think the line
- 16:23Speaker 2: was seven.
- 16:24Speaker 6: And a half.
- 16:25Speaker 7: Yep, 7.5.
- 16:26Speaker 2: So I'm going to take Houston plus 7.5.
- 16:28Speaker 5: All right, we're going to go out to College Park, Maryland.
- 16:32Speaker 5: The Terps taking on the Virginia Tech Hokies. Now, Maryland's
- 16:36Speaker 5: won its last 16 games against non-conference opponents. I don't
- 16:40Speaker 5: really think that matters this weekend because they've lost 12
- 16:42Speaker 5: of their last 13 as an underdog. Virginia currently a
- 16:46Speaker 5: three-point favorite. They've looked good under James Franklin, and also
- 16:49Speaker 5: James Franklin hates Maryland. He was head coach in waiting,
- 16:52Speaker 5: if you remember, all the way back in 2008. A
- 16:55Speaker 5: new athletic director said no, and he's been on a
- 16:57Speaker 5: war path. He's 9-2 all-time against Virginia Tech, 6-1 head-to-head
- 17:02Speaker 5: against Mike Loxley. Loxley's only win over Franklin was back
- 17:06Speaker 5: in the 2020 season during the pandemic. Last time they
- 17:10Speaker 5: faced off, James Franklin beat Maryland by over 30 points.
- 17:13Speaker 5: I think Virginia gets it done once again. I'm taking
- 17:15Speaker 5: the Hokies. Minus three to cover against Maryland.
- 17:20Speaker 3: All right. So, Flynn, a little recap there.
- 17:24Speaker 4: Yeah, we got Houston plus seven and a half at
- 17:26Speaker 4: Texas Tech.
- 17:27Speaker 3: Houston plus seven and a half. Remember that game's tonight,
- 17:30Speaker 3: so go ahead and get these plays in.
- 17:32Speaker 4: Virginia Tech minus three versus Maryland.
- 17:37Speaker 3: Virginia Tech.
- 17:39Speaker 4: Taylor, we definitely obviously remember that James Franklin was the
- 17:42Speaker 4: coach in waiting over in Maryland. We definitely remember that
- 17:45Speaker 4: from 2008. Man, how could you not? That was national news, bud.
- 17:51Speaker 4: You were like four.
- 17:53Speaker 3: Relax.
- 17:54Speaker 4: All right, we're going to get over here to my pick,
- 17:56Speaker 4: and this one is definitely going to hit. I'm going
- 17:59Speaker 4: to go University of North Carolina.
- 18:02Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 18:03Speaker 4: At Clemson. They are plus three. They're getting three points
- 18:06Speaker 4: versus Clemson, and I get it. There's a lot of
- 18:08Speaker 4: news surrounding these Tar Heels.
- 18:12Speaker 3: What kind of news?
- 18:13Speaker 4: The air licker himself, the mullet-wearing defensive coordinator they had,
- 18:17Speaker 4: he has been dismissed. He has left the team, whatever.
- 18:19Speaker 3: It's okay.
- 18:20Speaker 4: That's going to galvanize that team, and you know what
- 18:22Speaker 4: happens when Bill Belichick stops caring what he's wearing? Did
- 18:27Speaker 4: you see him with that Schmedium sweatshirt on with his
- 18:30Speaker 4: man boobs, stick it out. Like, my goodness, he does
- 18:34Speaker 4: not care what's happening. And when he doesn't care, he
- 18:38Speaker 4: is a dangerous man.
- 18:39Speaker 3: So look out.
- 18:40Speaker 4: Clemson, you're not very good. I'm sorry. You just got
- 18:43Speaker 4: absolutely broken by LSU.
- 18:45Speaker 3: It's Dabo.
- 18:47Speaker 4: He's just whistling by the graveyard right now. The time
- 18:49Speaker 4: is coming for Dabo. This is his last year at Clemson.
- 18:53Speaker 4: UNC plus three.
- 18:55Speaker 3: UNC plus three against the fighting Dabo Sweeney's.
- 19:00Speaker 8: All right.
- 19:01Speaker 2: I like that. I wanted to do UNC Moneyline.
- 19:03Speaker 4: Yeah, that sweatshirt was legit.
- 19:08Speaker 3: I didn't see it. I'm intrigued.
- 19:10Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, it's not appealing for him.
- 19:14Speaker 3: Right.
- 19:15Speaker 4: Shouldn't be wearing it.
- 19:16Speaker 3: But it is for us.
- 19:16Speaker 4: But, like, even though I know he doesn't care, but
- 19:19Speaker 4: at some point you got to care, like, at least
- 19:21Speaker 4: a little. And he didn't care, like, in the slightest.
- 19:24Speaker 4: So they might win by 50. All right.
- 19:28Speaker 3: I like it. they're getting points and they're going to
- 19:30Speaker 3: win by 50.
- 19:32Speaker 4: Uh, all right.
- 19:32Speaker 3: So we have Houston plus seven and a half Virginia
- 19:35Speaker 3: tech minus three UNC plus three. Uh, I am going
- 19:38Speaker 3: to go to the sec with my pick and I
- 19:42Speaker 3: am going to go with a road team in the
- 19:45Speaker 3: sec to cover. I am going in the battle for
- 19:50Speaker 3: a shade of maroon. Give me Mississippi State plus four
- 19:55Speaker 3: against South Carolina. We were told Lenore Sellers was the
- 20:00Speaker 3: prince who was promised, but it's actually Kamario Taylor who
- 20:03Speaker 3: is the prince. Give me Mississippi State plus the four
- 20:07Speaker 3: in my pontoon parlay pick. I actually even thought about
- 20:11Speaker 3: going money line in this one. I feel confident that
- 20:14Speaker 3: Mississippi State is only getting viewed as the Mississippi State
- 20:17Speaker 3: of the past and not what they actually are this year.
- 20:20Speaker 3: I think Kamario Taylor is one of the better quarterbacks
- 20:22Speaker 3: in the country. He's young. He's got things to figure out.
- 20:26Speaker 3: We get all of that. I think he'll figure those
- 20:28Speaker 3: things out, and I think he is going to out-duel
- 20:31Speaker 3: Lenora Sellers in this matchup. Sorry about it, Marler. Go
- 20:35Speaker 3: put some socks on.
- 20:36Speaker 4: And obviously Jeff Levy is going to out-duel Shane Beamer,
- 20:39Speaker 4: the better head coach, by 100%, maybe even 1,000%. Big fan.
- 20:45Speaker 4: I like that. Are they in South Carolina? It's in
- 20:47Speaker 4: South Carolina. Tough place to play.
- 20:48Speaker 3: It's during the day.
- 20:50Speaker 4: Okay.
- 20:50Speaker 3: Steering the day.
- 20:51Speaker 4: It's easy, though. Makes me feel a little bit better
- 20:53Speaker 4: about the pick there. That's right.
- 20:55Speaker 3: Steering the day. So the pontoon parlay here this week,
- 20:58Speaker 3: it is going to be Houston plus 7.5 against Texas Tech.
- 21:03Speaker 3: It is going to be Virginia Tech minus 3 against Maryland.
- 21:08Speaker 3: It's going to be UNC plus 3 against Clemson, and
- 21:11Speaker 3: then Mississippi State plus 4 against South Carolina. So we've
- 21:16Speaker 3: got three underdogs. Mm-hmm. In the pontoon parlay. I believe
- 21:21Speaker 3: last week we had too many favorites. Yeah. Too many favorites.
- 21:24Speaker 4: We were toast. Too many favorites. And to recap, like, look. Yeah,
- 21:29Speaker 4: we're one and two on the pontoon parlay so far
- 21:33Speaker 4: this season. But we're one and one as just the Wolfpack.
- 21:37Speaker 4: Just want y'all to know that. Richard, Devin, we love you.
- 21:41Speaker 4: Love you. But you screwed up the pontoon parlay.
- 21:43Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean.
- 21:44Speaker 4: And y'all's picks might have hit. Richard, yours hit, but.
- 21:47Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 21:48Speaker 8: It threw us off alright that is the Bantam Parlay
- 21:55Speaker 8: this week we will step away we'll give you one
- 21:58Speaker 8: final look one final thought on the Saints and the
- 22:03Speaker 8: Ravens and the Tigers and the Rebels in Oxford and
- 22:07Speaker 8: we'll do that when we come back here on OTB
- 22:11Speaker 8: Off the Bench.
- 22:11Speaker 9: Music From the locker room to the airwaves, it's Off
- 22:38Speaker 9: the Bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn. Welcome back.
- 23:04Speaker 3: It's getting closer, ball.
- 23:06Speaker 4: It's getting closer. Like every minute it gets closer, actually.
- 23:09Speaker 3: I'm going to be like in the hotel room just
- 23:11Speaker 3: like chomping at the bit tomorrow. Just like, can we
- 23:14Speaker 3: get on the bus? Can we get to Oxford? Me,
- 23:18Speaker 3: Ben Mintz, Oklahoma drill right now. Your face. You think
- 23:24Speaker 3: I can beat Ben Mintz in Oklahoma drill? Nope.
- 23:31Speaker 4: All that matters is that our team beats his team.
- 23:34Speaker 3: I would truck Ben right now.
- 23:37Speaker 4: Just for his face this week.
- 23:40Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 23:40Speaker 4: Next week, his face is fine. Yeah.
- 23:43Speaker 3: But this week, truck.
- 23:45Speaker 4: Truck stick. Not happening.
- 23:47Speaker 3: He's made you right in my eyes. Okay. Just letting
- 23:50Speaker 3: you know.
- 23:50Speaker 6: Okay.
- 23:51Speaker 3: It's a deep cut. It's an old deep cut.
- 23:54Speaker 4: It's all those people I ran over.
- 24:04Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 24:06Speaker 3: You did run a power off of a fake field goal,
- 24:10Speaker 3: which is kind of cool. Yeah. But you didn't really
- 24:14Speaker 3: look athletic as you fell down.
- 24:18Speaker 4: Well, I had so much tape and so many ankle
- 24:21Speaker 4: braces on. Like, how could I look that athletic? And
- 24:24Speaker 4: I had offensive line shoes on that game to fit
- 24:27Speaker 4: the ankle brace for that high ankle sprain. Not a
- 24:30Speaker 4: big deal. I was doubtful.
- 24:32Speaker 3: You were doubtful even when you were playing. You know
- 24:35Speaker 3: what I'm saying? All right. We're going to give our
- 24:39Speaker 3: final kind of looks at the Saints and the Tigers here.
- 24:43Speaker 3: We'll start with the New Orleans Saints. Matt and I
- 24:45Speaker 3: will give you kind of how we see it going.
- 24:47Speaker 3: Then Alondra and TayTay will back in the studio. It's
- 24:50Speaker 3: going to be a challenge for the Saints and not
- 24:52Speaker 3: really with what they're doing but who they're playing against.
- 24:55Speaker 3: It's a very good Baltimore Ravens team. It is on
- 24:58Speaker 3: the road for a second week in a row. Now,
- 25:00Speaker 3: The injury report for Baltimore doesn't look great. It certainly
- 25:05Speaker 3: is going to have some stars that are going to
- 25:07Speaker 3: be on that injury report. They might give it a go,
- 25:09Speaker 3: but they might not even play. That is a big
- 25:11Speaker 3: advantage for the New Orleans Saints. Seven and a half
- 25:15Speaker 3: point favorite for the Ravens. We talked about it throughout
- 25:18Speaker 3: the show. It was eight and a half. The Saints
- 25:21Speaker 3: are going to be in this game. The Saints are
- 25:22Speaker 3: going to have an opportunity in the fourth quarter to
- 25:24Speaker 3: go try and take a lead. They're going to have
- 25:28Speaker 3: the ball with a chance to either tie it up
- 25:30Speaker 3: or take a lead late. Can they make the play?
- 25:34Speaker 3: Last week, to their credit, they did. You're two-point conversion away.
- 25:40Speaker 3: You got yourself in position to even try a 62-yard
- 25:42Speaker 3: field goal at the end of regulation. This is going
- 25:46Speaker 3: to feel like it's putting a lot of emphasis on
- 25:49Speaker 3: one player, and it is, but some of the issues
- 25:52Speaker 3: the Saints have, if the Ravens don't have Zay Flowers
- 25:57Speaker 3: I think the Saints win. If the Ravens have Zay Flowers,
- 26:00Speaker 3: I think the Saints cover. He means that much, I think,
- 26:03Speaker 3: to this game. And where the Saints, if they had
- 26:07Speaker 3: a deficiency, I would say, obviously, defensive back's been talked about.
- 26:11Speaker 3: Zay Flowers, to me, is going to be the key
- 26:13Speaker 3: to this game. Is he available? Does he play? Also,
- 26:16Speaker 3: Trey Hendrickson might not be available for this game. That's
- 26:19Speaker 3: two big ones. If those guys don't play, I'm telling
- 26:23Speaker 3: you the Saints can win this game.
- 26:24Speaker 4: They can win this game, but they have to start
- 26:29Speaker 4: out hot. Kellen Moore and Tyler Shuck have to take
- 26:32Speaker 4: the next step in their progression as a coach and
- 26:36Speaker 4: as a quarterback. It is time for them to step
- 26:39Speaker 4: their game up.
- 26:40Speaker 3: Yeah, they can do it.
- 26:41Speaker 4: They fell for a damn near 400 yards last week.
- 26:44Speaker 4: But they cannot come out flat in the first half.
- 26:48Speaker 4: If they want an opportunity to be in the game
- 26:51Speaker 4: the fourth quarter, like you said, if they want to
- 26:52Speaker 4: be in the game the fourth quarter... they have to
- 26:54Speaker 4: come out and play good offense. They cannot come out
- 26:58Speaker 4: flat and then hope that there's just not enough time
- 27:01Speaker 4: in two quarters at the end of the game to
- 27:02Speaker 4: go and win against a good team like the Ravens.
- 27:06Speaker 4: So they got to start out. And that's the next progression. Yeah,
- 27:09Speaker 4: they can do everything. Tyler Sheck, you can make every throw.
- 27:11Speaker 4: You can make every play. You're super competitive. And we
- 27:14Speaker 4: love that you got that dog in you to come
- 27:16Speaker 4: back in the fourth quarter and in the second half.
- 27:19Speaker 4: But The next progression for you as a quarterback is
- 27:22Speaker 4: being able to do it for four quarters, doing it
- 27:25Speaker 4: in the first half and being able to run the
- 27:26Speaker 4: offense early on and operate and play like it's the
- 27:30Speaker 4: fourth quarter, even though it's the first quarter.
- 27:32Speaker 3: You've got to do that.
- 27:33Speaker 4: Keep that dog in you. We love it. We know
- 27:36Speaker 4: you're going to be the quarterback here for New Orleans
- 27:38Speaker 4: for a long time. It's time. I know it's only
- 27:41Speaker 4: week two. It's your second year, but it's time to
- 27:42Speaker 4: take that next step. So we can talk about, say,
- 27:45Speaker 4: Flowers and Trey Hendrickson and the defense, blah, blah, blah.
- 27:48Speaker 4: It's going to come down. to that offense. Can they
- 27:50Speaker 4: start out? It doesn't even have to start out fast.
- 27:52Speaker 4: You just have to start out good. You can't start
- 27:54Speaker 4: out historically bad in the first half and then play
- 27:57Speaker 4: historically good in the second half. There's just not enough
- 27:59Speaker 4: time versus a good defense or versus a good team
- 28:02Speaker 4: like the Ravens. So start out fast, play well on offense,
- 28:06Speaker 4: and you're going to give yourself a chance in the
- 28:09Speaker 4: fourth quarter. And if you give Tyler Shuck a fourth
- 28:12Speaker 4: quarter chance, I like those odds.
- 28:17Speaker 3: You like it? I love it.
- 28:18Speaker 2: Boom.
- 28:19Speaker 3: I want some more of it.
- 28:20Speaker 4: Alternate line.
- 28:21Speaker 3: Let's throw it down the studio. Tay-Tay, Alondra, how does
- 28:25Speaker 3: it play out for the New Orleans Saints this weekend?
- 28:27Speaker 5: The Saints are going to have to run the football.
- 28:29Speaker 5: That was the issue for me last week. I mean,
- 28:32Speaker 5: they averaged, I think it was like 3.6 yards per carry.
- 28:34Speaker 5: Tyler Shuck cannot throw the ball 50 times a game.
- 28:37Speaker 5: every single week and expect to win. I'm with you
- 28:40Speaker 5: guys on Zay Flowers. If he doesn't play, I feel
- 28:43Speaker 5: a lot good about it. The question is, can the
- 28:45Speaker 5: Saints run the ball and keep Lamar Jackson and Derrick
- 28:47Speaker 5: Henry off the field? I want to say yes, because
- 28:52Speaker 5: I think the Saints defense is going to step up
- 28:54Speaker 5: a little bit, but I am going to go to
- 28:56Speaker 5: the Ravens. I think Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry are
- 28:58Speaker 5: just going to be a little bit too much this week,
- 28:59Speaker 5: but I think it's close.
- 29:01Speaker 2: Yeah, I think we're all kind of on the same
- 29:03Speaker 2: page here. I think that the Saints defense did well
- 29:06Speaker 2: versus the Lions in the second half of the game,
- 29:10Speaker 2: and they went to overtime. But I was asking y'all
- 29:12Speaker 2: last night, like, are the Lions just not as good
- 29:16Speaker 2: maybe that we originally thought they were? I mean, I
- 29:18Speaker 2: know Jared Goff is awesome, and I guess Taylor's right.
- 29:22Speaker 2: They had two starters on the offensive line that were out,
- 29:24Speaker 2: but it's not enough of a sample size for me
- 29:28Speaker 2: for the Saints, but I do think that they cover,
- 29:31Speaker 2: but I think that the Ravens take this one, if
- 29:34Speaker 2: Zay Flowers is.
- 29:36Speaker 3: The Saints and Ravens and the Lions are tough to
- 29:40Speaker 3: Alondra's point because Buffalo's really good. That was the first
- 29:45Speaker 3: time they played in their new stadium, so it was
- 29:47Speaker 3: turned up to an 11.
- 29:48Speaker 4: The NFL's rigged, right? So they're going to make the
- 29:51Speaker 4: Buffalo win in their new stadium.
- 29:53Speaker 3: They've got a unicorn at quarterback Josh Allen, so it
- 29:57Speaker 3: is a small sample size, but Again, the injury report
- 30:00Speaker 3: for this one is what I'm going to be eye
- 30:02Speaker 3: hustling to see if the Saints can get it done.
- 30:05Speaker 3: All right, it is now time to talk a little
- 30:07Speaker 3: Tigers versus Rebels. All right, so look, we're all going
- 30:14Speaker 3: to pick LSU. It is what it is. We're an
- 30:16Speaker 3: LSU show. We're LSU people. We played for LSU. We're
- 30:19Speaker 3: not going against LSU. I know there's people at our
- 30:21Speaker 3: station that, you know, will pick other teams. It's not
- 30:23Speaker 3: going to be us, too. You'll never see that. It's
- 30:25Speaker 3: probably not going to be anybody in the foxhole. It's
- 30:27Speaker 3: just not how it's going to be. But we're going
- 30:29Speaker 3: to tell you why we are picking LSU, okay? For me,
- 30:32Speaker 3: LSU's defense travels. The Tigers have allowed just 24 points
- 30:36Speaker 3: through two games, including only 10 against Clemson. They held
- 30:39Speaker 3: Clemson under 150 total yards and allowed just one, Matt,
- 30:43Speaker 3: one-third down conversion. That is a championship-level defense, okay? Up front.
- 30:48Speaker 3: Prince Will Umami Ellen leads the country with five sacks,
- 30:52Speaker 3: and LSU's front is creating negative plays without consistently needing
- 30:56Speaker 3: extra pressure. We talked about that all week long, getting
- 30:59Speaker 3: pressure with four, and then when you want to bring
- 31:01Speaker 3: extra numbers, you do it because you want to, not
- 31:04Speaker 3: because you have to. I think the Tigers are going
- 31:06Speaker 3: to make Trinidad Chambliss just uncomfortable enough to make it
- 31:11Speaker 3: where he's going to be playing behind the chains. I
- 31:13Speaker 3: think this is going to be a game where, First
- 31:18Speaker 3: down matters a lot, and LSU's been really good on
- 31:21Speaker 3: first down on defense to create second and longs that
- 31:23Speaker 3: turn into third and longs. Kiwan Lacy is a hell
- 31:27Speaker 3: of a running back. I mean, he is really, really good.
- 31:30Speaker 3: This is going to be the best group of linebackers
- 31:32Speaker 3: I think he goes against, me thinks, this entire year.
- 31:36Speaker 3: So can you control him? If he has 85 yards
- 31:41Speaker 3: on 20-something carries, that is controlling one of the better
- 31:43Speaker 3: players in the country. That is going to be an advantage,
- 31:47Speaker 3: I think, for LSU to have those guys in the
- 31:49Speaker 3: middle of your defense. The biggest point, though, I think
- 31:52Speaker 3: LSU's defense gives the offense the opportunity to not have
- 31:56Speaker 3: to be perfect. They don't have to be perfect. because
- 32:01Speaker 3: the LSU defense does things, and they did it a
- 32:03Speaker 3: week ago, right? We know Sam Leavitt. He's questionable. The
- 32:07Speaker 3: offense committed four turnovers against Louisiana Tech, but LSU still
- 32:11Speaker 3: won 45-14 because the defense refused to let the game turn.
- 32:16Speaker 3: On the road, in an emotional rivalry game, that defense
- 32:20Speaker 3: is the most dependable unit, I think, on the field.
- 32:23Speaker 3: On the field. So Ole Miss will make some plays.
- 32:27Speaker 3: LSU can pressure the quarterback, stop the run, and survive
- 32:31Speaker 3: its own offensive mistakes. If there is mistakes, I'm taking
- 32:34Speaker 3: the Tigers because LSU's defense is the best unit in
- 32:38Speaker 3: this game. That's Ole Miss's offense, LSU offense, Ole Miss defense.
- 32:44Speaker 3: The LSU defense is the best unit in this game.
- 32:47Speaker 3: The Tigers win 27-20 on the road. Oh, baby, I
- 32:48Speaker 3: love it. 27-20 on the road.
- 32:50Speaker 4: I think it's... Everything you said is absolutely correct. The
- 32:58Speaker 4: LSU defense, Blake Baker, they are going to have a game.
- 33:02Speaker 4: We've heard all about it. We know how good the
- 33:04Speaker 4: talent is over at Ole Miss. It does not matter.
- 33:07Speaker 4: That defense is that good. They're going to fly around.
- 33:09Speaker 4: They are going to create absolute chaos. Yeah, there might
- 33:11Speaker 4: be a big play here or there for Ole Miss.
- 33:13Speaker 4: It doesn't matter. But what it all comes down to,
- 33:16Speaker 4: it is the game that everything has been building up to.
- 33:20Speaker 4: It is the game that everybody's talked about since Lane
- 33:22Speaker 4: Kiffin landed here in Baton Rouge. And I'm so tired
- 33:26Speaker 4: of hearing about Ole Miss. I'm so tired of seeing
- 33:29Speaker 4: their fans on social media, all this, all that, the
- 33:32Speaker 4: biggest thing ever to happen to them. All week long, Oxford,
- 33:36Speaker 4: the Grove, college game day, Lane Kiffin coming back. They're
- 33:39Speaker 4: adding security. Hell, they might even throw the National Guard
- 33:43Speaker 4: in there.
- 33:43Speaker 3: Who knows?
- 33:44Speaker 4: They're going to strike the stadium. Everybody up there is angry.
- 33:47Speaker 3: Good.
- 33:48Speaker 4: I hope they are furious because somewhere along the way,
- 33:51Speaker 4: Ole Miss has convinced itself that it is on LSU's level. Guys,
- 33:56Speaker 4: it's Ole Miss. This series has been played for more
- 33:59Speaker 4: than a century, and LSU has spent the overwhelming majority
- 34:02Speaker 4: of it reminding Ole Miss exactly where it stands. Ole Miss, yeah, okay.
- 34:07Speaker 4: Hats off. You won last year. Congrats. hang the banner,
- 34:10Speaker 4: put it right next to the other imaginary championships over
- 34:13Speaker 4: there in Oxford because Saturday night is not about last year.
- 34:16Speaker 4: It doesn't matter what happened last year. You got the
- 34:19Speaker 4: number seven, LSU Tigers. Walk it into Oxford. You got 60,000
- 34:23Speaker 4: people who spent nine months convincing themselves that this is
- 34:26Speaker 4: the biggest football game of their lives, and that's the difference.
- 34:29Speaker 4: For Ole Miss, beating LSU is the season. For LSU,
- 34:33Speaker 4: beating Ole Miss is something you're supposed to do. They
- 34:36Speaker 4: can have the Grove, those chandeliers, all those button-down shirts,
- 34:40Speaker 4: the Brad's and Chad's, Red Solo Cups. They can have
- 34:42Speaker 4: all that stuff, but at 6.30, you got to leave
- 34:45Speaker 4: the cocktail party, and you got to go watch two
- 34:47Speaker 4: teams play football. And LSU is coming to play ball.
- 34:51Speaker 4: You wanted Lane Kiffin back in Oxford? Well, you got him.
- 34:55Speaker 4: You got him Saturday night, except this time he's walking
- 34:57Speaker 4: on that field with the LSU Tigers. They can boo
- 35:01Speaker 4: until they get tired, exhausted, drunk, hungover, until they're blue
- 35:05Speaker 4: in the face. They can scream. They can throw a tantrum. Hell,
- 35:08Speaker 4: they can even have Morgan Freeman narrate the whole damn thing.
- 35:11Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 35:12Speaker 4: The whole game if they want. None of this is
- 35:13Speaker 4: going to matter. Going to Oxford, walking to their stadium,
- 35:16Speaker 4: beat Ole Miss' ass, take the Magnolia ball, remind everybody
- 35:20Speaker 4: in Mississippi of something they should have learned a long
- 35:24Speaker 4: time ago. You are not LSU.
- 35:26Speaker 6: LSU, 34-21.
- 35:26Speaker 3: All right.
- 35:27Speaker 4: Like that, Moose? Like that score?
- 35:29Speaker 2: 34-21?
- 35:40Speaker 4: I don't know where they got all this twisted. When
- 35:41Speaker 4: did they decide that they are on LSU's level? Because
- 35:45Speaker 4: they won a game? I'm so tired of hearing them.
- 35:49Speaker 4: I'm so tired of seeing them. Shut them up. Because
- 35:53Speaker 4: in two years, they're going to be back to, you know,
- 35:56Speaker 4: eight wins. Eight wins is going to be about normal
- 35:59Speaker 4: for them in a couple years. They'll be irrelevant.
- 36:01Speaker 3: All right.
- 36:02Speaker 4: Like a fart in the wind.
- 36:03Speaker 3: Let's throw it back to studio. Tay-Tay and Alondra.
- 36:07Speaker 2: I'm with Matt. I am so sick of Ole Miss
- 36:10Speaker 2: and this high horse that they have suddenly got on
- 36:13Speaker 2: that Lane Kiffin put them on.
- 36:15Speaker 3: And guess what?
- 36:15Speaker 2: Lane Kiffin's not there anymore. You have Pete Golding, which
- 36:18Speaker 2: no disrespect to him. I'm sure he's a great person,
- 36:21Speaker 2: but I'm also sick of all the hype that Pete
- 36:23Speaker 2: Golding is getting. And I am not impressed by this
- 36:28Speaker 2: defense at all. So I think that LSU is going
- 36:30Speaker 2: to run all over them because duh. And then also
- 36:34Speaker 2: their offense is, Like, obviously, they're strong suit, but our
- 36:40Speaker 2: defense is a lot better. And I think that we
- 36:43Speaker 2: are going to smack them around and it's going to
- 36:45Speaker 2: be so much fun. And I really want them to
- 36:47Speaker 2: get off of their high horse. And I think we'll
- 36:49Speaker 2: knock them off. And I think that LSU wins this
- 36:52Speaker 2: game 35. I thought 27 at first, but I think
- 36:57Speaker 2: I'm giving Trinidad and Kewan too much credit.
- 36:59Speaker 3: I'm going to go 35-21 LSU.
- 37:03Speaker 4: I like it.
- 37:03Speaker 5: And Matt, I think you were way too generous about
- 37:05Speaker 5: saying in two years that they're going to fall off
- 37:07Speaker 5: as a program. I think that's coming. And if you
- 37:10Speaker 5: guys don't want to disrespect Pete Golding, hand up.
- 37:12Speaker 4: I'll do it.
- 37:12Speaker 5: Pete should be Lane's biggest fan because if Lane doesn't leave,
- 37:15Speaker 5: there ain't a program in the country that would hire
- 37:17Speaker 5: Pete Golding to be their head coach.
- 37:18Speaker 4: That's just a fact of the matter. Here's what I think.
- 37:22Speaker 5: Trinidad Chambliss, a lot better quarterback this year than he
- 37:25Speaker 5: was at this point a year ago.
- 37:26Speaker 4: I get that.
- 37:27Speaker 5: But you held this offense to 24 points in Oxford
- 37:30Speaker 5: last season. Your defense is a whole lot better. I
- 37:33Speaker 5: just don't see Ole Miss being able to get to
- 37:35Speaker 5: that 24-point threshold. Love Trinidad. Love Keywon Lacy. Weapons around them.
- 37:40Speaker 5: I've said it all offseason. They lost five of their
- 37:42Speaker 5: six receivers from a year ago. That concerns me with
- 37:45Speaker 5: that questionable defense. I think LSU is going to be
- 37:47Speaker 5: able to run the ball late in the game. I
- 37:49Speaker 5: like LSU 28-17.
- 37:52Speaker 2: I think Ole Miss actually falls off this season.
- 37:55Speaker 4: Ooh.
- 37:57Speaker 3: All right.
- 37:58Speaker 4: LSU's going to break them this weekend.
- 37:59Speaker 3: All right. That is the final prediction for LSU and
- 38:03Speaker 3: Ole Miss and the New Orleans Saints and Baltimore Ravens.
- 38:07Speaker 3: When we come back, we're going to wrap it up
- 38:09Speaker 3: here live from Rouse's, and we're going to do it

- 38:55Speaker 3: It's one day.
- 38:56Speaker 4: As little as one day?
- 38:57Speaker 3: As little as one day. Okay. Like a day.
- 38:59Speaker 4: All right.
- 39:00Speaker 3: Not days. Not plural. We're talking about a single day.

- 39:34Speaker 1: 2007 champs, purple and gold to the core. This is
- 39:52Speaker 1: Off the Bench with Hester and Flynn, Baton Rouge's go-to
- 39:55Speaker 1: for all things Louisiana sports.
- 39:58Speaker 7: All right, welcome.
- 40:10Speaker 3: Back in. It is OTB here live from Rouse's on Burnbake.
- 40:15Speaker 3: And Lee, one final segment here. Well, Ask the Bench
- 40:19Speaker 3: brought to you by Ice Cold Dos Equis. It is
- 40:22Speaker 3: always a great time to go for dos.
- 40:26Speaker 4: I got a bunch of Dos Equis right back here
- 40:27Speaker 4: at Rouse's, too.
- 40:29Speaker 3: Bunches of them.
- 40:30Speaker 4: Already cold. How do you know? Because I like Dos Equis.
- 40:36Speaker 4: I like Rouse's. I like cold beer.
- 40:42Speaker 3: Well said. All right. Hashtag ask the bench. Will LSU
- 40:46Speaker 3: run five personnel, I guess, for the game 0-5? So
- 40:52Speaker 3: I guess we're going no running backs, five tight ends.
- 40:54Speaker 3: All right.
- 40:54Speaker 4: Let's do it.
- 40:54Speaker 3: I love it. Do we have five tight ends? I
- 40:56Speaker 3: don't think LSU has five tight ends, but that's what
- 40:58Speaker 3: 0-5 personnel would be. It would be no running backs
- 41:01Speaker 3: and five tight ends.
- 41:02Speaker 4: Okay. I'm down for it. Why not? Just do it once.
- 41:06Speaker 3: I don't really get why you would, you know, Not
- 41:10Speaker 3: just do it with fullbacks. Just go 50 personnel with
- 41:16Speaker 3: five fullbacks. Hashtag Ask the Bench. Favorite Ole Miss moment
- 41:22Speaker 3: when you were playing?
- 41:24Speaker 4: We got asked this question yesterday.
- 41:26Speaker 3: We did.
- 41:27Speaker 4: I didn't really have an answer because I don't even
- 41:28Speaker 4: really remember any Ole Miss memory because it was so
- 41:33Speaker 4: irrelevant to me.
- 41:34Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 41:35Speaker 4: It wasn't a big deal. I think I scored a
- 41:37Speaker 4: touchdown in their stadium. Um, one time I threw a
- 41:41Speaker 4: touchdown to Benny Brazil at Ole Miss stadium and our
- 41:45Speaker 4: GA at the time, Tracy, Tracy Smith, who was a signaler.
- 41:50Speaker 4: We had these, cause we would do signaling and we
- 41:52Speaker 4: had a joke in practice when I would get in,
- 41:55Speaker 4: he would, we would act like he had mittens on. Yeah.
- 41:58Speaker 4: And so he couldn't like move his fingers out. So
- 42:00Speaker 4: he would signal with mittens on. So like I got
- 42:02Speaker 4: in the game and it was a joke.
- 42:04Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 42:06Speaker 4: So he signaled as a joke. He had mittens on
- 42:09Speaker 4: his hand. And he ran, I think it was his
- 42:11Speaker 4: eye right, 144 go. And I just threw a touchdown
- 42:14Speaker 4: to Benny. Threw the go. Olympian. Shout out, Benny.
- 42:16Speaker 3: That's pretty fast. Shout out to Benny Brazil, our guy.
- 42:19Speaker 3: I don't really know.
- 42:22Speaker 4: 04, 05, I.
- 42:25Speaker 3: Don't even remember what year it was. We were beating
- 42:27Speaker 3: them by, like, 40-something. And they still tried an onsides
- 42:29Speaker 3: kick late in the game. So, like, we were already
- 42:32Speaker 3: all out of the game. And then we had to
- 42:34Speaker 3: go back out there for hands team.
- 42:36Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 42:36Speaker 6: Right.
- 42:36Speaker 3: Me and Joe Adai and a couple of us. And
- 42:38Speaker 3: I remember they kicked the onside kick and I was
- 42:40Speaker 3: the guy, you know, there's a front line and there's
- 42:42Speaker 3: a guy right behind him. I was the guy right behind.
- 42:44Speaker 3: And so I catch it and I just kind of
- 42:46Speaker 3: fall down.
- 42:47Speaker 4: We're up by 40.
- 42:47Speaker 3: And I remember Joe getting so mad at me because
- 42:50Speaker 3: like Joe's like, you had the corner. Like I had
- 42:52Speaker 3: to do is follow me. You to score to return
- 42:55Speaker 3: for a touchdown. I was like, Joe. we're like we're
- 42:58Speaker 3: up by like 45 points and it'd be cool to
- 43:00Speaker 3: have a kick return for a touchdown like on the
- 43:02Speaker 3: log yeah you're like my mind wasn't there my gloves
- 43:05Speaker 3: were off my tape was off my wrist already.
- 43:07Speaker 4: Joe we're not the same guy you know.
- 43:10Speaker 3: Joe you probably could have scored i'm just gonna fall
- 43:12Speaker 3: down here and get back on the bus and get
- 43:14Speaker 3: on the plane uh and then also i remember trending
- 43:17Speaker 3: holiday returning a kick for a touchdown at 07 i
- 43:19Speaker 3: was getting a shot in my rib from dr bankston
- 43:22Speaker 3: When he did it, I remember celebrating and, like, pain
- 43:25Speaker 3: shooting down all the way to my toes. You got shot?
- 43:28Speaker 3: I had, like, a needle in my ribs when I'm
- 43:31Speaker 3: watching the TV of Trenton score in the touchdown.
- 43:32Speaker 4: If that needle goes anywhere near Jacob's ribs, I swear
- 43:35Speaker 4: to God. Rip your arms off.
- 43:37Speaker 3: I came back in the game, though. Actually, recovered an
- 43:41Speaker 3: onside kick in that one, too.
- 43:42Speaker 4: Again, brings up a point.
- 43:43Speaker 3: We were up by a lot still.
- 43:44Speaker 4: Bud Kilmer got a bad rap in that movie because
- 43:46Speaker 4: of the shot stuff.
- 43:47Speaker 3: He did. They happen. He was just trying to get
- 43:49Speaker 3: his guy back on the field. I wanted the shot
- 43:51Speaker 3: every single time. Give it to me.
- 43:54Speaker 4: This is an interesting one. I have to ask the
- 43:56Speaker 4: bench here. Did Jake hear Kiven's explanation of running in
- 43:59Speaker 4: gun versus under? No, but I actually would.
- 44:02Speaker 3: Love to hear that audio.
- 44:03Speaker 4: I'm going to go back.
- 44:04Speaker 3: First thing I do when I get in the car
- 44:05Speaker 3: is find that audio.
- 44:07Speaker 4: Yeah, I'd like to see what that explanation is.
- 44:09Speaker 3: Yeah, me too. As a running back, in my style
- 44:12Speaker 3: of running, I wanted to be in eye formation or
- 44:15Speaker 3: pistol or ace formation.
- 44:17Speaker 4: I'd love to hear an explanation of why college coaches
- 44:20Speaker 4: do the clap count. That's another explanation I'd like to hear.
- 44:24Speaker 4: What is the benefit? Because there has to be a benefit.
- 44:26Speaker 4: People are going to do things because there's a benefit.
- 44:28Speaker 4: I'd like to hear because it's real dumb.
- 44:31Speaker 3: Hashtag Ask the Bench. Will LSU have a spy on
- 44:34Speaker 3: Trinidad Chambliss?
- 44:35Speaker 4: This is more probably a question for you. I think
- 44:37Speaker 4: there's going to be an element of a spy. Spies
- 44:40Speaker 4: come in all different shapes and sizes.
- 44:42Speaker 3: You spy a.
- 44:43Speaker 4: Lot of times when it's man-to-man, sometimes when it's zone.
- 44:46Speaker 4: It's just power by numbers. But, you know, we're going
- 44:50Speaker 4: to run simulated pressures. We're going to be showing pressures
- 44:52Speaker 4: and then the line of scrimmage and then dropping seven,
- 44:54Speaker 4: dropping eight into coverage. So there's going to be strengthened
- 44:57Speaker 4: numbers in the secondary that we'll be able to class.
- 44:59Speaker 4: But I will assume that there will be an element
- 45:02Speaker 4: of a spy, somebody that is roaming, whether it's from
- 45:05Speaker 4: the safety position, linebacker position, hell, it might even be
- 45:08Speaker 4: a defensive end that's dropping. Blake Baker is prepared for this.
- 45:11Speaker 4: Blake Baker is ready for this game, and they're going
- 45:13Speaker 4: to give him absolute fits this weekend. I can't wait.
- 45:16Speaker 3: Go Tigers. Cannot wait. This is going to be awesome.
- 45:20Speaker 3: I look forward to it. It's here. LSU versus Ole Miss.
- 45:26Speaker 3: Tigers by a million. Go Tigers.
- 45:30Speaker 4: Go America.
- 45:32Speaker 3: See you on Monday.
- 45:34Speaker 6: Off the bench.
- 45:35Speaker 4: I want to tell you about our friends over at Caterers.
- 45:40Speaker 4: When you think about Louisiana, you think about energy and
- 45:44Speaker 4: one company helping shape the future. is Cataris. Cataris is
- 45:47Speaker 4: developing the Commonwealth LNG export facility over there in Cameron Parish,
- 45:52Speaker 4: connecting American natural gas with customers around the world. Now,
- 45:56Speaker 4: under construction after reaching its final investment decision in 2026,
- 46:00Speaker 4: the project represents a major investment in Louisiana's future, but
- 46:04Speaker 4: it's about more than just exporting energy. It's about creating
- 46:07Speaker 4: local jobs, supporting local businesses, strengthening communities, and reinforcing Louisiana's
- 46:11Speaker 4: position as one of the world's leading energy hubs. Through
- 46:14Speaker 4: its natural gas production, and the Commonwealth LNG Project, Catarys
- 46:18Speaker 4: is helping build an integrated energy platform that connects domestic
- 46:21Speaker 4: resources with the growing global demand. As construction continues on
- 46:24Speaker 4: Louisiana's Gulf Coast, Catarys is proud to invest in American energy,
- 46:27Speaker 4: American workers, and a stronger economic future. Catarys, connecting Louisiana
- 46:30Speaker 4: energy to the world.
