- 0:00[SPEAKER_01]: Here's the thing, sign, you say yes to everything and everyone except for the things that are most important to you.
- 0:06[SPEAKER_01]: I need no deep down inside.
- 0:08[SPEAKER_01]: You do know all deep down inside.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_01]: No, I should not be saying yes, but I've saying yes, right?
- 0:14[SPEAKER_01]: And what ends up happening most of the time, the people who are closest to you, I get hurt the most.
- 0:19[SPEAKER_03]: Welcome to the Beat till you see it podcast, where we talk about taking messy action, knowing that perfect is boring.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_03]: I'm also Logan, Ply's instructor, and fit this business coach.
- 0:30[SPEAKER_03]: I've trained thousands of people around the world, and the number one thing I see stopping people from achieving anything is self-doubt.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_03]: My friends, action brings clarity, and it's the antidote to fear.
- 0:44[SPEAKER_03]: Each week my guests will bring bold, executable, intrinsic, and targeted steps that you can use to put yourself first and be it till you see it.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_03]: It's a practice, not a perfect, let's get started.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_02]: You guys!
- 1:04[SPEAKER_02]: I'm excited for this conversation.
- 1:05[SPEAKER_02]: It's really fun.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_03]: We've got to talk a lot of things about talking like rock bottoms, divorce, finding a partner, authenticity, true authenticity.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_02]: People, please ain't my people, please are doing this podcast.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_02]: It's so good.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_03]: So, Polish readers, I guess, say he is an author, but you're going to want to read, especially if you are, I know I need to be authentic, but authentic is
- 1:24[SPEAKER_02]: often to see them ruined, we have just a really great conversation around that and I think this is really going to help those who are feeling a little stuck, those who are minor to keep going, those of you who have just kind of lost the way or have been like, why is this happening to me all great stuff in this episode.
- 1:37[SPEAKER_03]: So here is Polish Peter.
- 1:39[SPEAKER_02]: All right, babe, I'm really excited.
- 1:41[SPEAKER_02]: This is gonna be a fun conversation.
- 1:42[SPEAKER_02]: I already know, because I've already talked to this person before.
- 1:44[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, we're just gonna get into a Polish Peter.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_02]: Who are you?
- 1:47[SPEAKER_02]: What are you rock at?
- 1:49[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I'm a Polish Peter.
- 1:51[SPEAKER_02]: Are you Polish Peter is at your formal name?
- 1:52[SPEAKER_02]: Should we give a last name or we just go by Polish Peter?
- 1:55[SPEAKER_01]: No, there is a last name.
- 1:57[SPEAKER_01]: It's called Colot, Peter Colot, but what ended up happening over the years in my industry has been coaching people on things like that, been referred to as Polish Tony, like the name regards to the Tony Robbins, and then they kind of Polish Peter, it kind of stuck with me, so that's what just happened like that.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_02]: I love it.
- 2:12[SPEAKER_02]: You know, Nick, that's how Nick names come about.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_02]: I used to always go by my last name, and then people just called me LL, and I was doing want to be LL, and actually I do.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_02]: It's like a whole altar ego.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_02]: I step into a different power.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_02]: It's super fun.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_02]: So you're an inspiration how do we get here and how did that happen?
- 2:29[SPEAKER_02]: Did you always be someone who's inspiring like a Tony Robbins or was it was our journey they got you there.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_01]: I drink some cool late.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_01]: No, I think what what I mean, I think.
- 2:41[SPEAKER_01]: my whole life.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_01]: I think there was something that I thought was something bigger that I was meant for something bigger.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, there were some kind of a innate kind of a feeling that I wasn't meant to work for someone else.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_01]: It was always something that I needed to know, do my own path kind of a thing.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_01]: So I think there was always something like that.
- 2:58[SPEAKER_01]: And the more I started, especially after 2011,
- 3:02[SPEAKER_01]: I went more into this, you know, because people keep telling me, listen, I think you should be a culture.
- 3:07[SPEAKER_01]: I think you should be the person who's speaking to people because of who you are, your story, I think would benefit a lot of people.
- 3:14[SPEAKER_01]: And when you start looking from the perspective, you start to kind of, you know, they're okay.
- 3:18[SPEAKER_01]: Let's do it with the trident.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_01]: See how it happens.
- 3:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I think we're all meant to step into something bigger than ourselves.
- 3:25[SPEAKER_02]: And some of us follow that calling and some of us get stuck.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_02]: So do you feel like you did something uniquely different that you didn't get stuck like other people?
- 3:34[SPEAKER_02]: Was it scary to try to do something bigger than you?
- 3:37[SPEAKER_02]: What was the journey there?
- 3:39[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, that's a real good question.
- 3:40[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that was true, people do get something stuck.
- 3:42[SPEAKER_01]: And I think for me, it was, think about this way.
- 3:46[SPEAKER_01]: Every single person in the world has something in the story, right?
- 3:49[SPEAKER_01]: And I don't think the story is their meant to just die.
- 3:52[SPEAKER_01]: I think the stories are meant to help other people on their journey because my circumstances might be completely different, but maybe sharing my story with you, maybe will help you give you some kind of different impact that you are going to make different choices in life or inspire you, whatever might be.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_01]: call to do that.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_01]: Now I think a kept me going is a couple of beliefs that I have.
- 4:15[SPEAKER_01]: One, I have a belief that life happens for me not to me.
- 4:18[SPEAKER_01]: So life happens for me not to me that there must be something behind that, you know, I mean, that drives me.
- 4:26[SPEAKER_01]: The other thing I have this belief that and sometimes that, you know, help me, sometimes that didn't really help me is that
- 4:37[SPEAKER_01]: When I sometimes talk to my students and this is not the best of analogies, but at some point I came up with and I just keep using it.
- 4:43[SPEAKER_01]: Imagine if you're standing in front of a dry wall and you're banging your hand against the wall, something is going to give.
- 4:49[SPEAKER_01]: Either you're going to stop banging your hand against the wall or the dry wall is going to break through.
- 4:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_01]: And we still look like not giving up.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_01]: Maybe something you need to pivot a little bit.
- 4:57[SPEAKER_01]: But if you don't give up in life, I think you will be able to accomplish a lot more and drive you more towards what you've meant to be here on this earth for.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_01]: You know what you're going to your calling, sort of speak.
- 5:10[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, like you just got to keep going.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_02]: I do think some people get to a wall and they go, oh, this is a sign that I'm not meant to do this.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_02]: That's what I hear people, oh, that was that door closed and that door closed is must not be meant for me.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_02]: Or it's leaning on a hallway, that door, you know what I mean?
- 5:29[SPEAKER_02]: But so how do you know if you're supposed to keep going or if you have hit the wall and you're gonna break?
- 5:36[SPEAKER_02]: What's the signs that you look for to keep going?
- 5:39[SPEAKER_01]: That's a really good question as one of those things that we all are trying to figure it out, right?
- 5:44[SPEAKER_02]: That's helping you have the answer.
- 5:45[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, that's all right.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, let's bring somebody else on the park because maybe somebody else will know.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_01]: No, but I think what I've discovered up to this point is this people when they stop.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_01]: Why am I stopping am I stopping because there is a fear that's driving that decision?
- 6:01[SPEAKER_01]: right and worry or whatever might be.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_01]: If it's some kind of a negative, you know, emotion, negative decision, negative, something, I think that's a us just stopping, not because we're not meant to go through a door.
- 6:14[SPEAKER_01]: And also there might be people around you or
- 6:18[SPEAKER_01]: things that are happening around you that gives you this pattern that says you're going down the wrong direction.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_01]: And what ends up happening is the pattern around you says keep going and you feel like, Oh, I don't know if I can do this.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if I am ready for this.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_01]: You know, all of a sudden you get a call that you want to be speaking in front of 10,000 people when you've spoken front of, you know, 500 at most ever, and this is collectively speaking.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 6:48[SPEAKER_01]: You know, you're like, how am I going to do this?
- 6:51[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_01]: But you know, maybe this is an opportunity that you've been kind of working towards.
- 6:56[SPEAKER_01]: So, it requires some faith, it requires courage, right?
- 7:00[SPEAKER_01]: So, I think it requires the courage, requires this little bit of a faith.
- 7:05[SPEAKER_01]: I think that tells you that you're going down the right direction.
- 7:08[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, I've heard some people go, I want to speak on these big stages and then that they won't say yes to a stage of 10 people and it's, well, if you've never spoken front of 10, it's hard to speak about 100.
- 7:17[SPEAKER_02]: You know, recently I actually taught a class for over 300 people.
- 7:21[SPEAKER_02]: And there was some people like, oh my god, like I want to do that.
- 7:24[SPEAKER_02]: You get, you get guess what?
- 7:26[SPEAKER_02]: I had to teach, to have high people first.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_02]: And then at some point, that got to be 20 people.
- 7:31[SPEAKER_02]: And then at some point, the number was 50.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_02]: And then this earlier this year, I had the biggest number of people in one class was 85.
- 7:37[SPEAKER_02]: And if I hadn't had the 85, I couldn't have taught 300.
- 7:39[SPEAKER_02]: I wouldn't know what to do with 300 people.
- 7:41[SPEAKER_02]: You have to build a muscle up.
- 7:43[SPEAKER_02]: And I agree like there's that, okay, we have to take a journey back though, because you have a story.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_02]: So, you know, before you became a optimism, helping coach inspiring people to find their way.
- 7:55[SPEAKER_01]: Well, so I was born in Poland during the communist Poland was communist them at that particular point then in 89 got abolished.
- 8:02[SPEAKER_01]: I came here tonight, say it's when I was 14 at 91, not because I wanted to, is because my mom was already here, and this wasn't an end of opportunity, money grows in Trisier.
- 8:12[SPEAKER_01]: By the way, I kid you not Leslie, I actually as the kid growing up, I had to believe that there was money trees in here.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_01]: I imagine my disappointment when I came here or here is the other thing.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_01]: One, there is no money trace.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_01]: There is a different conversation about that.
- 8:28[SPEAKER_01]: But when I was flying over here to United States at 14 years old on a plane, they played two movies.
- 8:34[SPEAKER_01]: The first movie was by Eddie Murphy, who was coming to America, coming to America.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_01]: Probably complete coincidence right had to be complete coincidence Yeah, and the second one was Eddie Morphe movie as well, and that I was Beverly Hills cop when he was in LA.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, oh my god I am resisting coming here, but I'm looking at this movie and I'm you know what this might not be so bad You got palm trees which are law palm trees.
- 9:03[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you got beautiful
- 9:04[SPEAKER_01]: guys, skyscrapers, sports cars, right?
- 9:08[SPEAKER_02]: Where did you end up in Ohio?
- 9:10[SPEAKER_02]: Did you get to LA?
- 9:11[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I ended up in Detroit.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_02]: I think there's a palm tree, and it's right.
- 9:18[SPEAKER_01]: No, there isn't.
- 9:19[SPEAKER_01]: Imagine I had this appointment, right?
- 9:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, also it's a toy when they were going down because I feel like that's about it.
- 9:24[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 9:25[SPEAKER_01]: 91, there was the, you know, Capatric thing later on and all that kind of stuff, right?
- 9:29[SPEAKER_01]: So, there was the whole discussion.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_01]: And then, you know, I went to high school, was learning, because I don't know any English.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_01]: You know, in fact, I remember thinking to myself, I'm in my polish on my polish, right?
- 9:40[SPEAKER_01]: Because the word looks exactly the same, right?
- 9:43[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, talk about confusing, I mean, you know, that's yes.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, God, you know, graduate of high school went to college, got a degree in architecture, which was inspired by my uncle, because he bought his entire house.
- 9:57[SPEAKER_01]: Because you know, that's an obscure my story.
- 9:59[SPEAKER_01]: I'm revealing a lot of the belief system, right?
- 10:01[SPEAKER_01]: That was driving this thing.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_01]: My uncle, and so I'm going to our architecture.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_01]: I graduated high school, I'm a architecture.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_01]: When I actually became an architect here in Michigan, I was developing a building as well.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_01]: I was doing this and ended up finding my wife, got three kids after that.
- 10:16[SPEAKER_01]: We started, you know, one kid, second kid, third kid, you know, and I, in about 2007, you know, a few remember what happened in 2008, but I saw the writing in the wall here, especially in Michigan, because we got to big three.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_01]: And I started my own company on the side, and it was a marketing company to be able to help real estate investors and people in real estate know market themselves.
- 10:38[SPEAKER_01]: But it kind of started seeing the writing in the way I went to it about maybe 2009, full time into that, and I started growing this business, and then in 2010 my wife came to me and she said she wants a divorce, because guess what, Peter got lost.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_01]: and the entire business, by the way, one of the bleeds that drove that was the people pleaser.
- 10:57[SPEAKER_01]: So I make sure everybody's happy, right?
- 11:00[SPEAKER_01]: So there was that conversation.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_01]: And so after that, for about two years, I went into what I called my optimistic depression.
- 11:08[SPEAKER_01]: And when I say that, some people get confused, what does that mean?
- 11:11[SPEAKER_01]: But if you are an optimistic kind of a person, I think you can understand what optimistic depression is, right?
- 11:17[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you're you're constantly thinking there's going to be hope on the other side, but you're depressed on the inside too well yes that and on the inside I remember asking myself the question what the whole is wrong with me.
- 11:30[SPEAKER_01]: Right?
- 11:30[SPEAKER_01]: Because how is it all my whole world basically like crashed for me, I don't know thing.
- 11:34[SPEAKER_01]: You know me what that's wrong with me.
- 11:36[SPEAKER_01]: And when people will come to me is you okay everything good talk to me, right?
- 11:41[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, what my answer was I'm good.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_00]: I'm fine.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, good.
- 11:45[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_01]: People could see it.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_01]: So that's the optimistic depression.
- 11:49[SPEAKER_01]: So during that particular time, I actually went through what I call my awakening and I've learned a lot about myself.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_01]: And because of that, that's when I went into a mastermind that the friend of mine, he's my best friend Jason brought me into this company, co-life on there in the mastermind group, and as I started learning about myself, that's when people are started saying, listen, you should be a coach because you have this way of speaking to people and asking the questions sort of like they call me Frank because I will be can be frank with you.
- 12:19[SPEAKER_01]: I'll be the person who would ask and people what sometimes they need to hear and that's not what they want to hear, you know, I mean, so that's why it prompted that and that's when they kind of a journey started and here I am today.
- 12:31[SPEAKER_02]: Oh my goodness.
- 12:32[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, what a journey that it was a difficult time for a lot of people that 2007, 2008, but also a lot of great things were born from there.
- 12:40[SPEAKER_02]: And so it's interesting.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you for sharing that.
- 12:42[SPEAKER_02]: And I just want to go back to the people, please, or part.
- 12:44[SPEAKER_02]: And then we'll go back to the
- 12:48[SPEAKER_02]: You mentioned it, and I want to highlight people who are people, please, or think, oh, I'm trying to make everybody happy, but in doing that, you make zero people happy, including yourself.
- 12:55[SPEAKER_02]: And so can we talk about what should we, what are the signs your people please are and how do you stop?
- 13:00[SPEAKER_02]: Did you stop?
- 13:01[SPEAKER_02]: Are you still what?
- 13:03[SPEAKER_01]: Well, hi, my name is Polish Peter.
- 13:04[SPEAKER_01]: I'm where we cover people, please, all right.
- 13:08[SPEAKER_01]: So, uh, I don't love your left by that away.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_01]: I think it's awesome.
- 13:11[SPEAKER_01]: Thanks.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_01]: So, here's the thing.
- 13:14[SPEAKER_01]: Sign, you say yes to everything and everyone except for the things that are most important to you.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_01]: I need no deep down inside.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_01]: You do know deep down inside.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_01]: No, I should not be saying yes, but I've saying yes, right?
- 13:27[SPEAKER_01]: And what ends up happening most of the time, the people who are closest to you, I get hurt the most, you know, especially you.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_01]: How do I, you know, deal with that?
- 13:35[SPEAKER_01]: Well,
- 13:36[SPEAKER_01]: When I first started this entire process, one of the things that I did I wrote a vision for my life.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_01]: What I want my life to look like, hmm, okay.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_01]: There's nobody ever tells you to write a vision for your life.
- 13:47[SPEAKER_01]: They tell you to have a business vision and business plan.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_01]: Nobody tells you we'll have a vision for your life.
- 13:51[SPEAKER_01]: So I wrote it out.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_01]: What was that vision look like on one piece of paper?
- 13:55[SPEAKER_01]: in present tense.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_01]: And then I created a calendar that I started putting pieces from the vision to my calendar.
- 14:02[SPEAKER_01]: I started putting things in my calendar to make sure that these spots are not taken up.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_01]: So, for instance, morning routine that I have in the morning.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_01]: That's in a calendar.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_01]: Then I put down Twitter in the afternoon.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_01]: I had the gym that I wanted to go ahead the gym.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_01]: Then at six o'clock, it dinner.
- 14:20[SPEAKER_01]: I actually put that in my calendar.
- 14:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, people please, sir.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_01]: We don't do that.
- 14:24[SPEAKER_01]: I actually put in my calendar.
- 14:25[SPEAKER_01]: The end between 10 a.m. and two, three o'clock.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_01]: I, there was my work hours because what ended up happening after my divorce, I wanted to make sure that I want to pick up and drop on my kids at school.
- 14:36[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, the drop-offs and pick-ups started like, you know, nine a.m. and then I started going and seeing, you know, picking up the kids from school about two,
- 14:48[SPEAKER_01]: And the way that I was able to say no to people from that point on is because I knew myself that I was going to have a hard time saying no, I would say when someone will ask me, hey, can you do this for me and I would say, well, let me get back to you, I think that's okay for people to say it and then I would go and I would say, hmm, look at my vision, I go, does this align with my vision is this going to help me with my vision or is going to take me for their way from my vision.
- 15:17[SPEAKER_01]: and majority of the time it will be a no, it will be taken away from it.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_01]: But I would go back and I would say, listen, I would love to do this for you and with you or whatever.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_01]: Because I do.
- 15:27[SPEAKER_01]: That's the people please, aren't you?
- 15:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, however.
- 15:29[SPEAKER_01]: My vision doesn't allow me to do that.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 15:32[SPEAKER_01]: Well, guess what I did?
- 15:33[SPEAKER_01]: I blamed it on my vision.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_01]: I'm no longer the bad guy.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_01]: The vision is.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_01]: And on the end, then we have the discussion.
- 15:39[SPEAKER_01]: But that's how I was able to go and eliminate the whole people, please, or think.
- 15:42[SPEAKER_02]: I, OK, first of all, everyone who needs to literally write down in your notes.
- 15:47[SPEAKER_02]: Let me get back to you.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_02]: Thanks.
- 15:49[SPEAKER_02]: So you can copy and paste it.
- 15:51[SPEAKER_02]: So it's just, you don't even have to think about it.
- 15:52[SPEAKER_02]: Because you're going to think about it.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_02]: And you're going to overthink it.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_02]: And you're going to rewrite it 17 times.
- 15:55[SPEAKER_02]: And you're going to say yes to the thing, because that was faster.
- 15:58[SPEAKER_02]: And then I do love the blaming, it's not alignment with what's going on right now.
- 16:03[SPEAKER_02]: I have, you know, every day someone's pestering for something.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_02]: And I have just been, oh, this, this is not going to, I can't add one more thing to the calendar right now, but I love that you thought about me.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you so much.
- 16:12[SPEAKER_02]: And it kills me because it's like, oh my god, I should, I should be doing more of that.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_02]: I should be doing it.
- 16:16[SPEAKER_02]: All the sheds, right?
- 16:17[SPEAKER_02]: But I pulls Peter, you and I are very similar.
- 16:20[SPEAKER_02]: I definitely think that you have to know who you want to be, where you want to go, and it has to be in your calendar.
- 16:25[SPEAKER_02]: Absolutely, must in your calendar because it's not in your calendar.
- 16:28[SPEAKER_02]: It does not get done, but of course you have to put dinner on in your calendar because if it's if you're someone who's I feel myself, I take care of myself.
- 16:36[SPEAKER_02]: It's got to be in the calendar otherwise you won't, because hello, I'm ADHD and I just realize a
- 16:40[SPEAKER_02]: Why am I so hungry?
- 16:42[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I forgot breakfast.
- 16:43[SPEAKER_02]: I didn't look at my account this morning.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_02]: I really appreciate that you know, there's a course, like the master class and the what's her name who the divorce product is based on.
- 16:53[SPEAKER_02]: She has a course and she says she always thinks people for the work that they did and then she will just say we're moving into a different direction right now.
- 17:01[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you so much for that removed.
- 17:02[SPEAKER_02]: So don't have to explain anything and you can tell of people the new direction.
- 17:05[SPEAKER_02]: You don't have to over explain yourself.
- 17:06[SPEAKER_02]: It's just not an alignment with what is happening in this moment.
- 17:10[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, so now let's go back to the optimistic depression because how did you get out of just the habit of saying you're good everything's great I'm great how did you get to be someone who who isn't fit because that to me that's faking it right that's not to be it.
- 17:33[SPEAKER_01]: Well, one, I had to recognize that I can't hide it, it's impossible to hide it.
- 17:38[SPEAKER_01]: People can see it because they were coming up to me.
- 17:41[SPEAKER_01]: So guess what, the people, please, it aren't me, didn't like that, right?
- 17:45[SPEAKER_01]: Because it gives it what's happens that I, you know, they can see it, you know what I mean?
- 17:50[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 17:50[SPEAKER_01]: So that's one and two, during the whole awakening process, I started looking from all the different beliefs that I've had.
- 17:57[SPEAKER_01]: like I said to myself like what the house wrong with me.
- 17:59[SPEAKER_01]: So my brain went into the conversation while here is the reason why but wrong with you because you got to be gave very careful the types of questions that you ask yourself because brain is going to give it the answer, right?
- 18:11[SPEAKER_01]: What kind of answer is going to give you?
- 18:12[SPEAKER_01]: Well, the one that satisfied the question and it's going to go back to your past and your circumstances and all those kinds of things going to tell you the answer.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_01]: So as I started looking from the perspective, I started discovering
- 18:25[SPEAKER_01]: And then I ask myself, does this help me to get where I want is actually hindering me, because these beliefs are in the place of fear, worry, or they're actually from the place of, you know, abundance that I want to live.
- 18:37[SPEAKER_01]: So then I discover most of them were not, you know, like the people, please, or I think it's there is a fear-based kind of a way of living people, please,
- 18:46[SPEAKER_01]: because for me, one of the big things that I discovered that I wanted to feel important like I matter, like someone acknowledging me, those kinds of things.
- 18:54[SPEAKER_01]: So people, please, they will be able to say yes to everybody because I wanted to be the guy.
- 18:58[SPEAKER_01]: But at the end, it's actually costing me a lot by discovering what's costing me.
- 19:05[SPEAKER_01]: And then I started basically creating a new belief system.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_01]: And I'll getting back to that authenticity,
- 19:14[SPEAKER_01]: Think about when we are four or five years old.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_01]: Were we fearful, probably not, were we curious?
- 19:22[SPEAKER_01]: Heck yeah, we were kids are very curious.
- 19:24[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they're happy, they're in the moment, right?
- 19:26[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, they are just full of whatever.
- 19:29[SPEAKER_01]: So what if I just started doing that?
- 19:32[SPEAKER_01]: You know what if I just got back to that basics of it?
- 19:36[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 19:36[SPEAKER_01]: And I was beginning to be more present, more intentional in life.
- 19:40[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's what helped me get out of this thing because what ends up happening, think about people who are depressed a lot of times they're never in a present moment, they're in the past or in the future.
- 19:50[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 19:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it does.
- 19:54[SPEAKER_02]: It's a, you know, like they say, if you live in the past, you're going to be depressed if you live in the future going to be anxious and it's really hard to be in the present.
- 20:02[SPEAKER_02]: It can be hard to unravel those habits of not just people placing, but also.
- 20:07[SPEAKER_02]: trying to hold everything together when, you know, you don't want people to know that it's not all there.
- 20:13[SPEAKER_02]: So I really appreciate you sharing that because I think it's really helpful.
- 20:16[SPEAKER_02]: You know, you're obviously in a different place now and I would love to hear it.
- 20:20[SPEAKER_02]: You're be it till you see it for attracting the part where you have now because it's not easy to go through the divorce and change like that.
- 20:27[SPEAKER_02]: Like do you want to dive into that?
- 20:29[SPEAKER_02]: Because I read your notes and I thought, oh my god, this is so funny.
- 20:33[SPEAKER_02]: I had a rock bottom in 2013 and single and no par and no place to live and blah, blah, blah.
- 20:40[SPEAKER_02]: And so I was like, OK, if I want to have a great partner in my life, I have to make space for them.
- 20:46[SPEAKER_02]: And I had to, and I was, I had to work extra because I had no, I had a,
- 20:50[SPEAKER_02]: I knew car and I get into place to live in LA and so I was like how am I going to add a partner in this life if there's no life in this life like this is not space so what I did was every morning I poured a two cups of coffee I pour one for me and one for the future partners like I'm gonna be with someone who drinks coffee and I'm making coffee in the morning That's what I'm gonna do and then I protected Thursday night so I'm like okay Thursday nights.
- 21:12[SPEAKER_02]: I will say yes to nothing
- 21:14[SPEAKER_02]: Except for a potential date and if the on the day of I don't have a date, then I'm going to make a I'm going to do something for myself.
- 21:19[SPEAKER_02]: But I'm protecting this for the person I want to be with so that I can actually go on a date to meet someone.
- 21:25[SPEAKER_02]: So what about you how did you how did you become someone who could have someone in your life.
- 21:30[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I loved it.
- 21:31[SPEAKER_01]: By the way, the little things that you the by the way, did you drink that it's second cup of coffee.
- 21:34[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I did.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_02]: I became like I had I'm a two coffee girl.
- 21:38[SPEAKER_01]: All right, so you're like, I need the goal, right?
- 21:40[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, yeah, my day started early, so I just put one in a to go container and one with me and I definitely needed that.
- 21:47[SPEAKER_01]: All right, very cool to listen so the way I approach this this, I wrote a vision for that future wife and I wrote a vision from the perspective of who do I want that person to be like, What are some of the maybe the most right, for instance, I, you know, three kids, so she has to like my kids, my kids have to like her, right, I'm Christian, right, so she's hopefully going to be Christian, I want her to be Christian to, right,
- 22:09[SPEAKER_01]: And so many different things, right?
- 22:11[SPEAKER_01]: And there was must-shoulds, shouldnets, cans, right, all those different things.
- 22:18[SPEAKER_01]: And based on these qualities that I wrote on that piece of paper was a big page, I mean, I don't know, maybe 34 items on there was a huge, you know?
- 22:28[SPEAKER_01]: And because I had this very elaborate conversion, and by the way, one of the guy Jason Vogel,
- 22:34[SPEAKER_01]: He actually encouraged me to do this and I resisted it for a very long time and then you finally found the wife I'm like, well, maybe there's something to that, you know, so I finally wrote it and Found this girl in January of 2016 and we started dating it.
- 22:49[SPEAKER_01]: She was meaning these kind of qualities What had me be able to go and find this girl because at the end of this vision that I wrote I had to ask myself a very sobering question and that is this
- 23:02[SPEAKER_01]: Who do I need to become in order for that woman to actually show up in my life?
- 23:07[SPEAKER_01]: Right.
- 23:07[SPEAKER_01]: Because if I'm a deadbeat and I don't want a deadbeat, then guess what?
- 23:11[SPEAKER_01]: She's probably not going to look for a deadbeat.
- 23:13[SPEAKER_01]: So who do I need to become in order for the woman to show up in my life?
- 23:17[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 23:17[SPEAKER_01]: So that's the things that I started putting into my life to create this, you know.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_01]: For instance, one of the things I use to do as a people pleaser is this best foot forward kind of a thing right when we go meet someone yeah I would show up differently like come all put together whatever might be.
- 23:36[SPEAKER_01]: What I've discovered is that actually doesn't work very well for me.
- 23:40[SPEAKER_01]: So I just like, let's be authentic, right?
- 23:43[SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
- 23:43[SPEAKER_01]: People say you have to wait two days to call the girl after you steer.
- 23:47[SPEAKER_01]: Well, we went on a date, right?
- 23:49[SPEAKER_01]: I texted her, you know, the next morning and then say, how is everything?
- 23:53[SPEAKER_01]: You know what I mean?
- 23:53[SPEAKER_01]: So you start breaking the rules of what the society says, how it needs to be.
- 23:58[SPEAKER_01]: Because if it's the right person, guess what, she's not going to carry there, right?
- 24:02[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_01]: And that's what basically started it all.
- 24:06[SPEAKER_01]: And here's the thing crazy thing Leslie.
- 24:08[SPEAKER_01]: But the first, the girl in January dating her, she didn't align because she was not emotionally available for me.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_01]: Guess was not the inner vision emotional available.
- 24:18[SPEAKER_01]: So then we went our separate ways, found another girl and was like a march, a pro of that year.
- 24:25[SPEAKER_01]: And June 1, we started dating and we started dating and I know that she's very political.
- 24:30[SPEAKER_01]: you know, and I'm like, man, she talks about politics a lot.
- 24:35[SPEAKER_01]: And I'm, well, if political views are my political views are sort of similar.
- 24:40[SPEAKER_01]: And I go in my vision, guess what's not under the political views.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_01]: So I added that in there about it.
- 24:46[SPEAKER_01]: I'm not looking probably category of a shot, right?
- 24:49[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_01]: So we kept dating and today we're married.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_01]: So it's, you know, I mean, it's when you look for that perspective.
- 24:56[SPEAKER_02]: I love this story because I think I went to a college where all the girls rode down the list of what they want in someone and I was just okay.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_02]: that's great.
- 25:04[SPEAKER_02]: You do need to know where you're going.
- 25:06[SPEAKER_03]: We all have to have a map.
- 25:08[SPEAKER_02]: But also, so many people don't then look at what they need to attract that person.
- 25:14[SPEAKER_02]: And when you're, if you're finding that you're not attracting the right person, there is it's a hello.
- 25:18[SPEAKER_02]: It is you think it's not something, a lot of the blame, the dating pull out there, but it's like, yes, and also if you keep attracting that person, there's something you're putting out into the world that
- 25:30[SPEAKER_02]: We either repel people or we attract them and I wanna repel people who are not for me always all the time.
- 25:36[SPEAKER_02]: I don't want to be someone who's a magnet for things I don't want.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_02]: So I love that you really, okay, I love this and this is what I want, but I need to be the person who this person would want.
- 25:44[SPEAKER_02]: And then it's true.
- 25:46[SPEAKER_02]: People don't realize that when a relationship doesn't work out, it's not like a failure.
- 25:50[SPEAKER_02]: It's just information on,
- 25:52[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I didn't realize how important this thing was to me or actually I didn't realize that this thing was a should but it has to be a must because I thought it would I'd be okay with it, but I'm not and that's it's just all information that we have to go out and we get to do and we get to figure out we learned about ourselves, Danie's people I love that so much.
- 26:08[SPEAKER_02]: I think that's so cool.
- 26:09[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 26:10[SPEAKER_01]: That's why I said like it's impossible.
- 26:12[SPEAKER_01]: There's a big missing element when people don't do this.
- 26:14[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that's like, who do I need to become?
- 26:15[SPEAKER_01]: I think that people on the rest of the question because they're kind of worried and afraid of what they might what the answer might be.
- 26:20[SPEAKER_01]: And they're not willing to grow into that person.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 26:23[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 26:24[SPEAKER_02]: Well, because I mean, letting go of stories, that don't serve you.
- 26:28[SPEAKER_01]: Exactly.
- 26:29[SPEAKER_01]: Because these stories, some shape will form.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_01]: They do serve them.
- 26:31[SPEAKER_02]: That's why they're holding on to them.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_02]: I agree.
- 26:34[SPEAKER_02]: I agree.
- 26:35[SPEAKER_02]: Polish Peter, what are you most excited about right now?
- 26:38[SPEAKER_01]: What all the one thing I'm most excited about is the book that I've released last year.
- 26:42[SPEAKER_01]: I just want to make an impeccable people's lives and be able to help them grow in their own life.
- 26:46[SPEAKER_01]: So that's the thing that kind of that's my next mission in life kind of thing.
- 26:51[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_02]: So cool.
- 26:52[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 26:53[SPEAKER_02]: We'll tell us about the book.
- 26:54[SPEAKER_02]: Right in a book is not easy.
- 26:55[SPEAKER_02]: You had to become a writer.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 26:57[SPEAKER_01]: I'm going to talk to her in that writer.
- 26:59[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 27:01[SPEAKER_02]: How'd you go for me to talk her to a writer?
- 27:03[SPEAKER_01]: Well, I would tell you this one day at a time, kind of a thing, I started with just one paragraph, one paragraph, one paragraph and then ended up being a book, like a 40, 3000 board book, and I was super, I even surprised myself, I was like, what no way?
- 27:15[SPEAKER_02]: I don't even know how many words are in a regular book, how is that a lot?
- 27:18[SPEAKER_01]: No, so this is about 180 some pages.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, it's a good size book.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, okay, all right.
- 27:23[SPEAKER_02]: Authentic self free breath.
- 27:24[SPEAKER_02]: I love it.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_02]: Okay.
- 27:25[SPEAKER_01]: Authentic self free breath.
- 27:26[SPEAKER_01]: So I love it.
- 27:27[SPEAKER_01]: It's my own journey.
- 27:28[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_01]: I'm looking to help people get back to our authenticity.
- 27:31[SPEAKER_01]: That's the whole book.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_02]: It's okay.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_02]: I want it because I love, I want only authentic people in my life.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_02]: And then also because of the internet, the authenticity word has been,
- 27:42[SPEAKER_02]: totally bastardized ruined, but I don't think I think it's still important to have.
- 27:48[SPEAKER_02]: So what does authenticity mean to you?
- 27:49[SPEAKER_02]: How do we know that we're being authentic?
- 27:53[SPEAKER_01]: When you true to yourself, you know what I mean?
- 27:55[SPEAKER_01]: Think about it this way, we all know deep down inside whether this, the who we are is actually like, if you feel like there's something missing, you know, I have this question like something soft, something's missing, something is not there.
- 28:09[SPEAKER_01]: Do you know that you're not being your authentic self?
- 28:11[SPEAKER_01]: And then the other aspect is that if you're living from the stories of what the world told you to be, how you need to be.
- 28:19[SPEAKER_01]: And we all have this because at some point, Johnny, when he was in the second grade, he raised their hand and he was all excited to give an answer that 2 plus 2 equals 3, you know, I mean, and whole class laugh, and now Johnny decided and I'm never going to raise my hand again, I'm never going to speak up because, you know, I want to make sure 100% that I'm right.
- 28:39[SPEAKER_01]: That's you being in authentic, you know, because now because the world told you that you need to you made the decision that I cannot speak up.
- 28:46[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's what happens for a lot of people that keeps them away from being fearless, to being courageous, being going out there and making things happen in life, you know, because I think we all can impact somebody else's life.
- 28:58[SPEAKER_01]: So when you start looking from that perspective, you know, I had to
- 29:04[SPEAKER_01]: When I went through after the divorce, I noticed that a lot of the stuff that I was being, it was in the authentic, because I wanted, I felt like there was deep down inside.
- 29:13[SPEAKER_01]: I was supposed to be doing something else or being someone else, but I was just performing.
- 29:18[SPEAKER_02]: There you go.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_01]: That's the work.
- 29:20[SPEAKER_01]: It's not about performing.
- 29:21[SPEAKER_01]: It's about being.
- 29:22[SPEAKER_01]: I think most people are performing, especially on social media.
- 29:27[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, well, that's what it's for.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, exactly, I mean, my favorite compliment, my lessons I've heard this before, was I was, it was a 2019, I want to say, and I was in Australia, and I had finished teaching these workshops, and I wanted to go to this one store before it closed, and so the host would drive me to the store.
- 29:44[SPEAKER_02]: And we're having some fun, we're in the traffic, whatever, and the host is, you're the same person in real life that you are online.
- 29:51[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 29:52[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 29:53[SPEAKER_02]: I don't actually don't know how to be anybody else.
- 29:55[SPEAKER_02]: I don't actually know how to do that.
- 29:57[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe that's the audio HDMI.
- 29:58[SPEAKER_02]: Like I don't actually, I really don't know.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_02]: I can only really be myself.
- 30:02[SPEAKER_02]: And so thank you for that.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_02]: And it's, it's difficult because what happens is people get rewarded for performing.
- 30:07[SPEAKER_02]: Just like little Johnny, learn, don't raise your hand.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_02]: You'll get laughed at.
- 30:11[SPEAKER_02]: Other people learn.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_02]: I get attention if I perform.
- 30:13[SPEAKER_02]: And so it's hard for people to be authentic because
- 30:18[SPEAKER_02]: you know, there's these pressures to be something else or pulling you to be something else.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_02]: So I agree a lot of people do perform into the being.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_02]: So that's, I like, I think, authenticity is when you're being.
- 30:30[SPEAKER_02]: I love it.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 30:31[SPEAKER_01]: Just think about, I used to hate my accent.
- 30:34[SPEAKER_01]: I want to get rid of it as much as possible, actually, because I will tell you that do events around the country now, right?
- 30:40[SPEAKER_01]: We, you know, as I speak in front of people, my team, because we have a team that runs it, there is in the back of the room, there is a think of Peter reasons.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_01]: The words and phrases that Peter says that maybe people don't understand or sound something different.
- 30:54[SPEAKER_01]: Okay, not allowed to say the word shift because it sounds like something else.
- 30:59[SPEAKER_02]: Okay?
- 31:01[SPEAKER_01]: However, guess what?
- 31:02[SPEAKER_01]: Do you think that stops me from being me kind of a thing?
- 31:06[SPEAKER_01]: No.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that's what I think is missing in life.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_01]: That authenticity, that just being, because people are always looking from the perspective, I need to looking good, right?
- 31:17[SPEAKER_01]: I think that's another thing that drives the loudest conversation.
- 31:20[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I think that's so interesting.
- 31:22[SPEAKER_02]: I, you know what, I don't know a single person who likes to sound of their voice and I don't know, you know, I'm always I don't have an accent and then I go places that, you know, I do have an accent, I love your accent.
- 31:33[SPEAKER_02]: What are you talking about?
- 31:34[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know because I'm from California and I don't have an accent, but the people on the south, you sound here from California.
- 31:39[SPEAKER_02]: So, haha.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, my gosh.
- 31:43[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I think, you know, with some of fun about this pollish Peter is we're all going to be on a journey and the more we learn about ourselves, the better we get at being ourselves.
- 31:54[SPEAKER_02]: You know, so thank you for going on this with us and sharing your book and your story with us.
- 31:58[SPEAKER_02]: We're going to take a brief break and find out what people can find you follow you.
- 32:01[SPEAKER_02]: Be inspired by you.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_02]: All right, pollish Peter, where do you hang out?
- 32:05[SPEAKER_02]: Where can they buy your book?
- 32:06[SPEAKER_02]: Where can they learn more about how to
- 32:09[SPEAKER_01]: Well, they can find the box.
- 32:11[SPEAKER_01]: But I think you so much lazy for having me.
- 32:13[SPEAKER_01]: It was great in being here.
- 32:14[SPEAKER_01]: They can find the book at my authentic rebirth.com.
- 32:18[SPEAKER_01]: That's my authentic rebirth.
- 32:19[SPEAKER_01]: They can pick up the book and just pay for shipping and handling there.
- 32:22[SPEAKER_01]: Or literally anywhere the books are solved.
- 32:24[SPEAKER_01]: Like Amazon, bars and novels, and you were, and you want to hear more of this accent.
- 32:29[SPEAKER_01]: You want to hear more of this kind of, you know, my shift kind of videos Instagram channel that I'm constantly under.
- 32:35[SPEAKER_01]: It's called authentic self rebirth.
- 32:38[SPEAKER_01]: That's the name of the channel.
- 32:39[SPEAKER_02]: I love it.
- 32:40[SPEAKER_02]: Okay, you've given us some really great tips.
- 32:42[SPEAKER_02]: I mean, quite honestly, like people can be a TELACA with most of what we just talked about, but what bold, executable intrinsic or targeted steps can people take to be a TELACA?
- 32:51[SPEAKER_01]: be it till the see it, be literally every day, be with yourself, like getting front of the camera or getting front of the mirror and just be with yourself and see when you are feeling comfortable uncomfortable and you know what, what ends up happening because most people do not like looking at themselves, right?
- 33:09[SPEAKER_01]: and do not like being with themselves so every single day I would say getting front of the camera or getting front of the mirror that you just be with yourself and just be quiet.
- 33:18[SPEAKER_01]: I do use to sometimes I do this exercise in our events and if you want to do this do that with your spouse or someone that's very close with you.
- 33:26[SPEAKER_01]: Stand or sitting front of someone that's maybe I don't say put away from you and just look at each other quietly without saying anything for five minutes it will be the one of the longest minutes in your entire life.
- 33:42[SPEAKER_01]: And you're going to see so many different emotions, so many different things in each other.
- 33:49[SPEAKER_01]: And it's one of the most powerful exercises that I've done with people because you don't say anything, but you are talking the entire time.
- 33:56[SPEAKER_01]: That makes sense.
- 33:57[SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
- 33:58[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_03]: Oh, I agree.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_03]: People don't sit with other thoughts very much, and it's true.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_03]: I definitely have no idea that my job would be looking at myself and I can't rest.
- 34:09[SPEAKER_02]: You know, you've got to do it.
- 34:11[SPEAKER_02]: You've got to do it so you can get over the things that you don't like about yourself, and also get excited about the things you do like about yourself.
- 34:18[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, so I think that's a really a really good thing.
- 34:21[SPEAKER_02]: And I also...
- 34:23[SPEAKER_02]: I think so many of us are so busy in our head we're never with ourselves.
- 34:26[SPEAKER_02]: So I love this, I love this action, so great.
- 34:29[SPEAKER_02]: Polish Peter, you are fabulous, you guys go get his book and share with Polish Peter and myself, what were your takeaways, what landed with you?
- 34:36[SPEAKER_02]: Share this with a friend who needs to hear it.
- 34:37[SPEAKER_02]: Maybe you have an optimistic depressed friend who just needs to be called out in a kind way.
- 34:41[SPEAKER_02]: They won't know until they get to this part that that's why you send it to them.
- 34:44[SPEAKER_01]: Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.
- 34:46[SPEAKER_02]: And you know, I think we all have a lot of us have people pleasing to work on, you know, and it's one of the biggest things you can do for yourself.
- 34:53[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you for your inspiration, your tips, your wonderfulness.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_02]: And until next time, everyone, be it till you see it.
