- 0:02Speaker 1: This is a Bramble Jam podcast. Welcome to Girls Gone Hallmark,
- 0:23Speaker 1: a Hallmark review podcast. I'm Megan and I'm a longtime
- 0:27Speaker 1: Hallmark fan. I'm Wendy. I'm a former Hallmark hater. Today
- 0:31Speaker 1: They're back, Baby. We have our first official listener mailbag
- 0:35Speaker 1: episode post the Way Home, and y'all are the ones
- 0:40Speaker 1: who made this happen. So thank you so much for
- 0:42Speaker 1: your comments and emails letting us know your thoughts on
- 0:46Speaker 1: what's going on in the Hallmark world. And I want
- 0:48Speaker 1: to start it off strong because we received so many
- 0:54Speaker 1: comments from a variety of people after we discussed a
- 0:59Speaker 1: shirtless and Walker in The Reluctant Royal, and as I
- 1:05Speaker 1: was editing that clip, my mind was like, wait a minute,
- 1:10Speaker 1: we've seen shirtless people. Do we not recall shirtless Stephen?
- 1:15Speaker 1: Who's our I'll play that clip in a moment. But
- 1:18Speaker 1: to the many, many, many people who wrote in to
- 1:20Speaker 1: remind us that Andrew Walker himself was shirtless in a
- 1:23Speaker 1: recent movie in the opening of Three Wise Men and
- 1:26Speaker 1: a Baby, You're right. We knew that, and we knew
- 1:30Speaker 1: it so much that it ended up in our first
- 1:32Speaker 1: impressions of that episode, said in the countdown to Christmas
- 1:37Speaker 1: preview episode that this movie was a love letter to
- 1:40Speaker 1: Hallmark fans, and Hallmark confirmed that with their opening shot
- 1:43Speaker 1: of Andrew Walker shirtless. I mean that scene was so
- 1:49Speaker 1: funny from go was really funny, right, Oh yeah, I
- 1:54Speaker 1: know they know he's look at Yeah, I mean like
- 1:58Speaker 1: when he was doing his yoke opposes or whatever he
- 2:01Speaker 1: was doing. I'm like, the man is like forty two
- 2:03Speaker 1: years old. He looks hot, hotter than you know what.
- 2:08Speaker 1: And meanwhile, I am forty three and you know what
- 2:10Speaker 1: I did before recording this episode. I went to physical
- 2:13Speaker 1: therapy and when I came home and climbed the stairs
- 2:18Speaker 1: so I could walk into my closet to record this
- 2:20Speaker 1: episode that we're recording remotely because our children are home
- 2:23Speaker 1: from school. My legs were like jello after forty minutes
- 2:27Speaker 1: of wait, need to get our lives together, dude, so good,
- 2:32Speaker 1: I have the number of Andrew Walker's trainer please. Oh
- 2:39Speaker 1: my god. First of all, I'm so embarrassed. That was
- 2:43Speaker 1: for three wise men and a baby. Yeah. November third,
- 2:46Speaker 1: twenty twenty two. Oh boy, my apologies. Andrew Walker. Well,
- 2:51Speaker 1: we watch a lot of movies, so I can't remember
- 2:53Speaker 1: what are you apologizing for objectifying him that I forgot
- 2:56Speaker 1: that he was shirtless. Oh sure, shirt sure. I just
- 3:01Speaker 1: feel like I need to call us out a little bit. Sure,
- 3:05Speaker 1: let me play the clip of when Stephen Who's r
- 3:09Speaker 1: himself was shirtless in Jane Mysteries Too Much to Lose.
- 3:15Speaker 1: Oh no, it's me who should be afraid this time.
- 3:19Speaker 1: What was your first impression of too Much to Lose?
- 3:22Speaker 1: I'm so sorry, but this is the weakest of the bunch. Oh,
- 3:27Speaker 1: I like your game show, Thank you. My first impression
- 3:32Speaker 1: is with Steve, who's our listening last week when we
- 3:36Speaker 1: said take your shirt up, listen. That as the only
- 3:40Speaker 1: highlight in this movie for me. Wow, this was the
- 3:45Speaker 1: what's the word? This was the cream of the crop
- 3:47Speaker 1: for me. I'm gonna call us out further because we
- 3:52Speaker 1: got another email from Melissa that says love your podcast
- 3:56Speaker 1: and look forward to it each week. In regards to
- 3:58Speaker 1: your comment about a shirtless Andrew Walker, Victor Webster was
- 4:03Speaker 1: shirtless in The Summer Villa when he dove into a
- 4:06Speaker 1: pool in France. That's the only other time I can
- 4:09Speaker 1: recall a shirtless character in a Hallmark movie. Take note, Melissa,
- 4:14Speaker 1: there are others apparently Are you ready for me to
- 4:18Speaker 1: point out that we knew that too? First impression? Is
- 4:27Speaker 1: this peak Victor Webster? Hod damn? Yeah? All I think
- 4:31Speaker 1: about is that pool scene. Sorry wo wowe sowie. Yeah,
- 4:36Speaker 1: he looks great. Yeah, I'm so embarrassed. Not only did
- 4:41Speaker 1: we mention each and every one of those times in
- 4:43Speaker 1: an episode, it's in our first impression every single time. So,
- 4:50Speaker 1: oh my god. I think we know two things to
- 4:52Speaker 1: be true. One we are absolutely guilty of objectifying these
- 4:56Speaker 1: Hallmark actors, and two we have the memory of dish totally.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Can I go off script here a little bit? Oh sure?
- 5:05Speaker 1: I want to ask you about the Instagram story we
- 5:10Speaker 1: shared recently of a shirtless Luke McFarlane. Oh yeah, looking
- 5:17Speaker 1: fairy race. Yeah, figuring you might as well be on
- 5:23Speaker 1: brand here. He looks good. You cannot tell me. I agree.
- 5:27Speaker 1: That's not a pretty man. Have you watched the new show?
- 5:29Speaker 1: I have, and I really enjoyed it. It is so
- 5:33Speaker 1: good and it's fun to watch because you can tell
- 5:36Speaker 1: that he he's not just acting like a craftsman. Yeah,
- 5:41Speaker 1: like this is his passion. Yeah, so's he's like, look
- 5:44Speaker 1: at this cool toy I have. That's gonna engrave these
- 5:46Speaker 1: words into here. Yeah, I like it a lot. I
- 5:49Speaker 1: like it a lot. But we did receive a message
- 5:53Speaker 1: from a follower on our Instagram who was disappointed, not
- 5:57Speaker 1: at us, they were disappointed at Hallmark for that photo,
- 6:03Speaker 1: to which I replied, Hallmark didn't share this photo originally.
- 6:07Speaker 1: This wasn't from like the Hallmark brand. It was a
- 6:10Speaker 1: magazine cover featuring Luke MacFarlane, and Luke shared it and
- 6:16Speaker 1: I re shared that. The message went on and I'm
- 6:23Speaker 1: not going to get into the specifics about it, but
- 6:25Speaker 1: it was you can guess, Yeah, it was about I
- 6:29Speaker 1: don't think anybody listening who has listened to us for
- 6:31Speaker 1: more than one and a half minutes is surprised by
- 6:35Speaker 1: where we stand. But I think if you can guess
- 6:39Speaker 1: what this person's actual issue was, because it wasn't with
- 6:42Speaker 1: the fact that Luke McFarland was shirtless. As we've pointed out,
- 6:45Speaker 1: many Hallmark actors have been shirtless, and I kind of
- 6:48Speaker 1: don't imagine them sending these messages about and Andrew Walker
- 6:54Speaker 1: married to a lady with two kids. Yes, so just
- 6:58Speaker 1: read between the lines, man. I wish we had a
- 7:02Speaker 1: video podcast sometimes. Those are my thoughts on it. All right,
- 7:08Speaker 1: let's let's move on. We got an Instagram message from Era,
- 7:11Speaker 1: She writes, Okay, so I know this is the smallest detail,
- 7:14Speaker 1: but did anyone else notice that Noah's text to Alice
- 7:19Speaker 1: was in all caps? How rude? And given how their
- 7:24Speaker 1: relationship is already up in the air, that just seals
- 7:27Speaker 1: the deal that they should be over and done with
- 7:30Speaker 1: Team Max all the way. She's referring to the final
- 7:34Speaker 1: episode of The Way Home. Yeah, he's like, can we
- 7:37Speaker 1: get can we talk? Can we talk? Yeah? Did you
- 7:40Speaker 1: did you notice that? Ah? No, I did, And it
- 7:43Speaker 1: made me wonder because the only person I know the
- 7:45Speaker 1: people I know who texts in all caps other than
- 7:48Speaker 1: like my daughter when she's actually yelling something. Oh mg, mom, Yes,
- 7:54Speaker 1: an actual text I received as we were recording, to
- 7:56Speaker 1: which I pointed out, not a great way to send
- 7:58Speaker 1: a text when it's cool kid. Everything was fine, but
- 8:05Speaker 1: like my mother in lawt text like this, Oh interesting,
- 8:10Speaker 1: no punctuation, all caps. So I was like, Dido, who
- 8:15Speaker 1: in the props department was responsible for the creation of
- 8:18Speaker 1: this text? Yeah? And if there's actual intention behind it? Yeah?
- 8:22Speaker 1: And then I'm like, is Noah a time traveler? But
- 8:25Speaker 1: he would In my mind, I was like, is he
- 8:26Speaker 1: actually older? No? No, no, none of this makes any sense.
- 8:31Speaker 1: I noticed it too, and I also found it curious.
- 8:34Speaker 1: Wayne says, I'm so glad y'all are continuing these mailbag episodes,
- 8:38Speaker 1: largely because when I went through my sigin Sealed Delivered
- 8:40Speaker 1: Deep Dive and I was listening to your SSD review episodes,
- 8:44Speaker 1: I wish there was a way for me to talk
- 8:45Speaker 1: back in real time. So here's my quick view on SSD.
- 8:51Speaker 1: The Facebook group really came through with this suggestion. The
- 8:55Speaker 1: pilot reeled me in right away, but after going through
- 8:57Speaker 1: the episodes and experiencing the ups and downs, the Christmas
- 9:00Speaker 1: movie won me completely over and I was committed. I agree.
- 9:05Speaker 1: I was definitely team Wendy when it came to thinking
- 9:07Speaker 1: the pageant storyline for Rita was overdone, and I think
- 9:10Speaker 1: the whole series should have ended with the first wedding.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Don't want to spoil it. The latest movie was not
- 9:16Speaker 1: for me at all. It just felt off. What are
- 9:18Speaker 1: you two hoping for with To the Moon and Back,
- 9:20Speaker 1: especially if there's a chance it might be the last
- 9:23Speaker 1: of the SSD movies. Well, I would like to say
- 9:29Speaker 1: that Hallmark has announced an air date for Science Healed,
- 9:31Speaker 1: Delivered to the Moon and Back on Hallmark. There was
- 9:35Speaker 1: a weird kerfuffle in like the Hallmark community about this movie.
- 9:38Speaker 1: A trailer was leaked. It was not a Hallmark trailer.
- 9:41Speaker 1: It was an Australian network. Yeah, an Australian Yes, an
- 9:46Speaker 1: Australian network. And then Australia announced an air date for
- 9:51Speaker 1: this movie. And then I wonder if Hallmark felt like, well,
- 9:54Speaker 1: it's going to be out there, we got to put
- 9:55Speaker 1: it out there, or if Hallmark already had it on
- 9:56Speaker 1: the books, but it will be airing here in the
- 9:58Speaker 1: States on Hallmark Channel, which is different. Yeah, not Mystery
- 10:04Speaker 1: on April twenty sixth. Yeah. Well April is such a
- 10:08Speaker 1: like miss miss smash of movies these and they remember
- 10:14Speaker 1: we talked about it that The nineteenth, the week before
- 10:17Speaker 1: is the it's called it's the Aaron Khill movie. I
- 10:21Speaker 1: can't remember what it's called right now, but it's a
- 10:22Speaker 1: day Spring it's a day Spring like Easter movie. Yeah.
- 10:25Speaker 1: And then there was nothing on the calendar after that. Yeah.
- 10:30Speaker 1: I let me take a deep breath. I don't want
- 10:32Speaker 1: the postables to get mad at me, but me thinks
- 10:35Speaker 1: that homework's just slide in this movie, in here quietly,
- 10:41Speaker 1: let's get it out there and move on, and to
- 10:43Speaker 1: move on. And it makes me sad because if this
- 10:47Speaker 1: is truly the last movie, it needs a proper goodbye. Yeah,
- 10:53Speaker 1: because in the past, when A Taylor's Three Letters came out,
- 10:56Speaker 1: they were doing Facebook Live Yeah with the cast, they
- 10:58Speaker 1: were really promoting the movie. What am I hoping for
- 11:02Speaker 1: with this movie if it is to be the last,
- 11:05Speaker 1: I think we can. I think what we know for
- 11:07Speaker 1: sure that is, even if we're going to get more signed, sealed, delivered,
- 11:10Speaker 1: it's not going to be soon. I don't think anything's
- 11:13Speaker 1: currently being worked on, and so I would like a
- 11:17Speaker 1: fair amount of resolution. I don't want to feel like
- 11:21Speaker 1: our beloved Postables are floating out there with untied ends.
- 11:28Speaker 1: Are there untied ends? Well, we're going into this with
- 11:31Speaker 1: a lot of questions about there was a I believe
- 11:35Speaker 1: a foster situation or an adoption situation, and Shane's pregnant,
- 11:39Speaker 1: so we have some unknown things about babies and what's
- 11:42Speaker 1: going to happen there. And I just i'd like to
- 11:46Speaker 1: I'd like them to all be in a good place. Yeah,
- 11:48Speaker 1: me too. I gotta tell you as much as I
- 11:51Speaker 1: love that series. What I love most about it, and
- 11:56Speaker 1: this is no secret, I freaking love the relationship between
- 11:59Speaker 1: christ and Booth and Crystal Low. I could like watch
- 12:04Speaker 1: a series with just them too. Yeah, give me like
- 12:07Speaker 1: a mystery not a mystery series, because I think they're
- 12:11Speaker 1: so like fun and likable, like they need something kind
- 12:14Speaker 1: of like funny. Maybe that would be fun. I would
- 12:17Speaker 1: love it. Yeah, I like that idea. This next email
- 12:21Speaker 1: comes from Teandra regarding Mystery Island. She writes, just my
- 12:27Speaker 1: two cents one yes, do watch Knives Out even if
- 12:31Speaker 1: you don't like it. I think it will give context
- 12:34Speaker 1: for this genre of movie. Did you watch it yet?
- 12:36Speaker 1: Not yet, but I will okay. Number two, murder is
- 12:39Speaker 1: the point of this genre. Think Agatha Christie novels or
- 12:43Speaker 1: murder she wrote where so many people die in Cabot Cove.
- 12:46Speaker 1: There's a conspiracy theory that Jessica Fletcher is a serial killer. Wow,
- 12:51Speaker 1: that would be wild? Would it is? Number three A
- 12:55Speaker 1: bit of convolution with lots of side characters and ancillery
- 12:59Speaker 1: secrets and red herrings is also the point to keep
- 13:02Speaker 1: you guessing until the end and finally then at the end,
- 13:05Speaker 1: a meety Daniel MA, did I say it right? Yes?
- 13:09Speaker 1: Or wrap up is used to answer all of the
- 13:12Speaker 1: questions raised throughout listening from Kansas Teandra thoughts on Mystery Island.
- 13:18Speaker 1: I just don't think it was one of the better
- 13:20Speaker 1: mystery movies. But I have stated time and time again
- 13:24Speaker 1: that I'm not the right critic for some of these
- 13:26Speaker 1: movies simply because I don't think I super enjoy the genre.
- 13:32Speaker 1: But what I was saying, and what she's referencing is
- 13:35Speaker 1: I was like, look, I need to figure out if
- 13:36Speaker 1: it's the genre that I don't like or this particular execution.
- 13:40Speaker 1: I'm watching a new show on Netflix called The Residence,
- 13:44Speaker 1: which is like a comedy murder mystery, which I'm enjoying
- 13:49Speaker 1: the hell out of. I like it. I think you might.
- 13:53Speaker 1: It's certainly worth giving it one episode. It's a murder
- 13:57Speaker 1: mystery set in the White House. But I am going
- 14:00Speaker 1: to watch Knives out. I need to figure out do
- 14:04Speaker 1: I like this sort of thing or is it just
- 14:06Speaker 1: not for me? It may just not be for me.
- 14:10Speaker 1: That being said, I don't think Mystery Island, regardless, was
- 14:12Speaker 1: the most well executed of mysteries well, and I don't
- 14:15Speaker 1: think we're too off on our opinion because I think
- 14:18Speaker 1: some of our podcasting counterparts felt the same way. Yeah. Yeah,
- 14:23Speaker 1: let's take a good break and we'll come right back
- 14:25Speaker 1: with more listener messages. Yeah yeah. We have an email
- 14:38Speaker 1: from Alison regarding Royal movies, also a little bit of
- 14:42Speaker 1: Mystery Island talk. She says, I tried hard to watch
- 14:44Speaker 1: Mystery Island from the first movie, just couldn't get into
- 14:46Speaker 1: it and turned it off by the second commercial. Seem
- 14:48Speaker 1: like a bad eighties movie. Can't believe they made three. Yeah,
- 14:52Speaker 1: we haven't seen the third movie yet. There's a third
- 14:54Speaker 1: Mystery Island that is already made. Yes, ma'am, oh, I
- 14:57Speaker 1: was not aware. Allison goes on to say, I'm hit
- 15:00Speaker 1: or miss with Royal movies, but Royalish was so cute,
- 15:03Speaker 1: a different spin on Royal movies. Thank you my daughter. No, no,
- 15:09Speaker 1: I still think of like Meghan's like her. I gave
- 15:12Speaker 1: it four stars. I think Yeah, my reaction reaction was
- 15:16Speaker 1: so funny. My daughter would have loved the Princess. I
- 15:20Speaker 1: loved the two leads and the daughter too. Three Royal
- 15:23Speaker 1: movies in a row was a bit much, though. Hoping
- 15:27Speaker 1: for some good Spring movies. If you haven't listened to
- 15:30Speaker 1: a Royalist review. The last like two minutes are pure chaos.
- 15:33Speaker 1: Where we're reading the movie, the dogs chime in. It's
- 15:36Speaker 1: really funny. We even got a YouTube comment about it,
- 15:38Speaker 1: like thanks for the silliness in this episode. I really
- 15:40Speaker 1: needed it, So give those a listen. Our next email
- 15:45Speaker 1: is from Francisco, and I can't tell you how happy
- 15:47Speaker 1: this makes me because I thought Francisco was just the
- 15:51Speaker 1: way home listener. Yeah, that we've looped him in, I'm
- 15:55Speaker 1: very excited. He writes. First, Windy, how are you holding
- 15:58Speaker 1: up with Royal Months? Lol? I didn't hate Royal Month,
- 16:03Speaker 1: and I know going into it, I was like, I
- 16:06Speaker 1: don't want to do it, y'all. There was a Reddit
- 16:08Speaker 1: comment about it. There, there was you shoot it to
- 16:13Speaker 1: me how people were like, I'm so tired of girls
- 16:15Speaker 1: gone Hallmark complaining about the Royal movies. That's right, I
- 16:18Speaker 1: try to be real anonymous over there on Reddit. Well,
- 16:20Speaker 1: they don't still don't know who you are, true, but
- 16:23Speaker 1: we see you. We saw your comments, and we're not
- 16:28Speaker 1: whining about the Royal movies. But I was leading into
- 16:32Speaker 1: it because I historically don't enjoy a Royal themed movie.
- 16:38Speaker 1: I don't like mystery. It's okay to have things that
- 16:40Speaker 1: we like. Spoiler we do have a royal movie in
- 16:44Speaker 1: the fan favorite lineup for April. Uh huh. I loved it.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, what have you all done to Wendy?
- 16:53Speaker 1: What has happened? Okay, he writes, Okay. Even though I
- 16:57Speaker 1: am a fan of Andrew Walker, I was really there
- 17:00Speaker 1: for Emily de Raven. I am a fan of Lost
- 17:03Speaker 1: I just rewatched it last summer, and also a fan
- 17:06Speaker 1: of Once Upon a Time, but it was kind of
- 17:09Speaker 1: a letdown. I didn't think they had no chemistry, but
- 17:13Speaker 1: she seemed almost like a supporting character instead of a
- 17:17Speaker 1: co lead, and I didn't feel I was rooting for
- 17:20Speaker 1: them like in the movie Return to Office. That being said,
- 17:25Speaker 1: I felt the father son relationship was something I was
- 17:27Speaker 1: more interested in it ending successfully, and I liked its
- 17:33Speaker 1: gradual development. To wrap up the email, I thought you'd
- 17:36Speaker 1: mention this in your did you see that? Part? But
- 17:41Speaker 1: there was a scene at the end of the stables
- 17:43Speaker 1: where the Duke said to Johnny that some horse was
- 17:46Speaker 1: being given a cousin who'd fallen in love with an
- 17:49Speaker 1: American girl. Was that an Easter egg for a previous
- 17:52Speaker 1: Royal film and which one was that. I thought it
- 17:55Speaker 1: was a little interesting. Okay, so I'm guessing Francisco didn't
- 17:58Speaker 1: watch all three of these movies, correct, because that was
- 18:02Speaker 1: an Easter egg correct for Royal Ish. Yes, now, we
- 18:08Speaker 1: didn't mention this in Royalish, but I was a little
- 18:12Speaker 1: disappointed that Royalish did not include like it, there was
- 18:17Speaker 1: no follow through the first movie, the Royal we references
- 18:22Speaker 1: the next two, then the reluctant Royal references Royalish. They
- 18:26Speaker 1: reference the characters. Obviously, they're not referencing them as movies.
- 18:29Speaker 1: They're all tied together, and then nothing in Royalish. I
- 18:32Speaker 1: wanted something unless we missed it, but I don't think
- 18:34Speaker 1: there was any mentions this. Yeah, it's something that you
- 18:36Speaker 1: would wanted though, Yeah, tie together, but like, how give
- 18:41Speaker 1: me your pitch? I mean, I don't know. They're at
- 18:44Speaker 1: the end they're talking to is she gets her horse,
- 18:47Speaker 1: and she's like, oh wait, she gets the horse. Maybe
- 18:51Speaker 1: they do mention it when she gets the horse that's
- 18:54Speaker 1: from the Duke of such and such. Maybe they do.
- 18:59Speaker 1: I I felt like it was less obvious in that moment.
- 19:02Speaker 1: I don't remember you know that, do you remember the
- 19:05Speaker 1: final scene where she gets the horse like they were like.
- 19:08Speaker 1: She was like, but Rose has a horse and he
- 19:09Speaker 1: was like, that's yours. Yeah, so maybe they do tie
- 19:13Speaker 1: it all together. But yes, that's the reference from the
- 19:18Speaker 1: Reluctant Royal Francisco. So we had an email from cl
- 19:25Speaker 1: about who Claire could be and theyreking about the way home. Yes, okay,
- 19:31Speaker 1: I mean the season is over gone and forgotten. I know,
- 19:35Speaker 1: I know. The first email in regards to who the
- 19:38Speaker 1: identity of Claire could be on the way home says,
- 19:43Speaker 1: maybe Casey is Nick and Claire's daughter from the future.
- 19:47Speaker 1: We don't yet know how Claire fits in, but she
- 19:49Speaker 1: could be a Landry, maybe Colton's brother's child. So then
- 19:54Speaker 1: I responded, interesting thought, but either Nick or Claire would
- 19:58Speaker 1: need to be a Lander for that to fit. So
- 20:00Speaker 1: who's Claire the child of Colton's long lost brother? And
- 20:04Speaker 1: then cl responded The theory is Claire is Colton's brother's child.
- 20:09Speaker 1: She likely does not even know her connection to the
- 20:12Speaker 1: town at this point. At some point in the future,
- 20:14Speaker 1: Nick and Claire moved to Port Haven. Claire and her
- 20:17Speaker 1: future child, Casey, both with Landry blood, would then have
- 20:22Speaker 1: access to the pond. If I was writing the show,
- 20:25Speaker 1: this is Cel saying this. That is how I would
- 20:27Speaker 1: have it all connect. Cel's a showrunner. I'm telling you,
- 20:33Speaker 1: I'm telling you. They're listening. So I found that to
- 20:38Speaker 1: be an interesting theory, and when we hadn't heard before,
- 20:40Speaker 1: which is why I thought it was important to include
- 20:42Speaker 1: it here, even though we are kind of like, you know,
- 20:44Speaker 1: wrapping up The Way Home. Yeah, but I think it's
- 20:47Speaker 1: fun to still talk about theories because now I think
- 20:50Speaker 1: everybody's doing probably like the real big fans are doing
- 20:54Speaker 1: like a full season rewatch again, trying to pick up
- 20:57Speaker 1: all the little clues along the way, and then they're
- 21:00Speaker 1: still the theories are still working overtime in their minds.
- 21:05Speaker 1: So I love to hear them continue to email us. Yes,
- 21:09Speaker 1: there are a couple more the Way Home thoughts coming up.
- 21:14Speaker 1: And the next email is from Eric about Sam case
- 21:18Speaker 1: to Jacob Alice Parallel that we talked about this in
- 21:23Speaker 1: in the final mail backup. Yeah that's right, Eric, rights,
- 21:26Speaker 1: my ladies thought to help continue the mail bag with
- 21:29Speaker 1: the thought on the problem with the Sam case to
- 21:32Speaker 1: Elliott Alice Parallel. When Elliott took the phone call from
- 21:36Speaker 1: Kat in the first season, it was from it was
- 21:39Speaker 1: Alice that was missing. But when Sam took the phone
- 21:42Speaker 1: call from Dell in the last episode, it was not
- 21:45Speaker 1: Case that Dell was worried about. It was Jacob. Yeah,
- 21:51Speaker 1: they're just pointing out it's not a perfect parallel, right,
- 21:53Speaker 1: like right, which correct, it's not he does right, So
- 21:57Speaker 1: the parallel isn't quite parallel, at least not in this
- 21:59Speaker 1: in of course, there are other well discussed hints that
- 22:03Speaker 1: Sam and Casey are connected. Who knows, maybe the parallel
- 22:07Speaker 1: will end up being Elliott slash Alice to Sam slash Jacob. Also,
- 22:13Speaker 1: my wife came up with a term for traveling back
- 22:16Speaker 1: in time in non chronological order, as Alice did episodes ago. Backstitching.
- 22:24Speaker 1: Apparently this is something that's done in knitting. Question mark
- 22:27Speaker 1: might be a good term to use. Love the show,
- 22:32Speaker 1: Eric and nowel in Iowa. Oh, this is my friend
- 22:35Speaker 1: Eric in Iowa. Hi, go hawks backstitching. I do like
- 22:41Speaker 1: that because that's what that felt like. I was like,
- 22:44Speaker 1: Reryan Rewrye, you remember, Like that's literally like felt like
- 22:48Speaker 1: how my brain was going. Do you have any thoughts
- 22:50Speaker 1: on the Sam Casey connection and how it might play out?
- 22:57Speaker 1: I don't there is a connection. I don't know what
- 23:00Speaker 1: it is. I my gut tells me there's some Sam
- 23:04Speaker 1: Jacob connection. I just find it odd that Jacob would
- 23:08Speaker 1: be around Sam so much in this season and never
- 23:11Speaker 1: say something to anybody, Given the amount of time they've
- 23:14Speaker 1: spent hashing out all of their relationships and who knows
- 23:17Speaker 1: who from when, that seems odd to me that Jacob
- 23:21Speaker 1: never would have brought it out and I'd be like, Yo, Mom,
- 23:24Speaker 1: I know Sam from that seems your XX. Yeah. So
- 23:30Speaker 1: that that is my one little bump in that scene
- 23:34Speaker 1: that I can't make it make sense. I can tell
- 23:37Speaker 1: you what I need in season four is way more Casey.
- 23:42Speaker 1: Oh yeah. I need a full blown story arc ten
- 23:45Speaker 1: episodes long. Yeah. We need Casey to be strongly involved
- 23:49Speaker 1: in season four. I need to understand more about them,
- 23:51Speaker 1: what their connection is to all of these people, what
- 23:53Speaker 1: are they doing, why are they back in time? I
- 23:55Speaker 1: need to know all of it. Yeah, me too. I
- 23:58Speaker 1: gotta tell you I just saw on Facebook today in
- 24:02Speaker 1: one of the big The Way Home face book groups.
- 24:07Speaker 1: It was a picture. It was remember we talked about
- 24:10Speaker 1: in that final episode where it looks like Casey's getting
- 24:14Speaker 1: the baby off the Banks, and because it's only like
- 24:17Speaker 1: a shot of their hair and we're like, oh, that
- 24:21Speaker 1: looks like Casey's hair. Well, this person in the Facebook group,
- 24:25Speaker 1: not our facebook group, showed another picture from Cat. I
- 24:29Speaker 1: don't even know what seasons it's from. The jacket is similar,
- 24:33Speaker 1: and I was like, Oh, I can't have it being
- 24:36Speaker 1: Cat picking up this baby off the banks. I want
- 24:39Speaker 1: it to be Casey. Agree, I do too, Okay, I
- 24:42Speaker 1: don't want Cat involved in that scene. No, we need cats.
- 24:45Speaker 1: Cats done enough. I need Casey. I need Casey to
- 24:49Speaker 1: be strongly involved in the actions were exploring in season four.
- 24:54Speaker 1: Another message from Era, who said, thought i'd send some
- 24:57Speaker 1: thoughts for a future mailbag episode on Royal Ish. I
- 25:01Speaker 1: actually really loved this movie. Other than Hallmark, my other
- 25:04Speaker 1: big interest is Disneyland and theme parks. I actually listened
- 25:07Speaker 1: to a lot of theme park podcasts and follow a
- 25:10Speaker 1: lot of theme park influencers. So seeing the meshing of
- 25:13Speaker 1: my two loves was so heartwarming for me. Was it
- 25:16Speaker 1: a super low budget version of Disneyland? Sure, but it
- 25:18Speaker 1: was so charming. Plus, the actress who played Princess Rose
- 25:22Speaker 1: really brings this movie together. She's really quite an impressive actor. Already.
- 25:26Speaker 1: Plus her mom is in the Girl's Gone Hallmark group.
- 25:28Speaker 1: How cool is that. The icing on the cake of
- 25:31Speaker 1: this movie was when they danced to Once Upon a
- 25:33Speaker 1: Dream and when he came back to surprise her at
- 25:35Speaker 1: the end. Such a sweet moment and a wonderful song choice.
- 25:38Speaker 1: Definitely all the feels for me. You know how I
- 25:42Speaker 1: feel about Disneyland, So okay, actually that's not true, Wendy
- 25:49Speaker 1: when it's also a former Disneyland hater, because do you
- 25:51Speaker 1: remember when you had your Disneyland pass and you were like,
- 25:53Speaker 1: I actually really like it here, and we went several
- 25:56Speaker 1: times and we were all out on the merge. Yes,
- 25:59Speaker 1: you're right. I enjoying moments of Disneyland is I don't
- 26:03Speaker 1: get into the fairy princess stuff Like that's not for me.
- 26:07Speaker 1: And I think that reins into like the royal stuff.
- 26:10Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. I do. I
- 26:13Speaker 1: like Disneyland. I like I like getting treats at Disneyland. Sure,
- 26:18Speaker 1: I don't like watching like families who are supposed to
- 26:20Speaker 1: be having the best time of their lives like screaming
- 26:22Speaker 1: at each other because their freaking mind. Yeah that's not
- 26:25Speaker 1: funny either, And I don't like the long lines. That's
- 26:29Speaker 1: why when you have a pass and you can just
- 26:31Speaker 1: go for like a couple of hours and not feel
- 26:33Speaker 1: like you have to make the most of your time
- 26:36Speaker 1: and get your money's worth all of that. Yes, yeah,
- 26:40Speaker 1: those days of passes are long gone for me. It's
- 26:44Speaker 1: too expensive. Mm hmm. Anyway, I know you love Disneyland.
- 26:49Speaker 1: What's your favorite treat from Disneyland? A caramel apple? Really?
- 26:55Speaker 1: I like a tiggertail. It's like marshmallow with the care
- 27:00Speaker 1: and then chocolate on top. Camel apples are super messy,
- 27:03Speaker 1: you know, because they have chocolate on them too, So
- 27:05Speaker 1: I like them at home. I like to take it
- 27:07Speaker 1: at home and enjoy it too. I also like the
- 27:10Speaker 1: churro toffee. I hate churros, you know that. Yeah, but
- 27:14Speaker 1: there's no actual churro. It's just a cinnamon sugar, white
- 27:18Speaker 1: chocolate toffee. It's a delic Oh. I can get down
- 27:21Speaker 1: with that. Yeah. There's no fried action. Yeah, and that's
- 27:24Speaker 1: what I don't like is the fried part of it.
- 27:26Speaker 1: It's like a toffee dipped in white chocolate with cinnamon
- 27:29Speaker 1: sugar is delish. I also like a corn dog, as
- 27:33Speaker 1: do I. Now, listen this isn't. I'm gonna share it here.
- 27:37Speaker 1: I was recently in Denver. We went to a Denver
- 27:39Speaker 1: Nuggets game and guess what they sold there? Corn dog nuggets.
- 27:43Speaker 1: Pickle dog. That sounds amazing. So it's a pickle uh huh,
- 27:48Speaker 1: hollowed out and then they put hot and then they
- 27:52Speaker 1: depry that in the corn mill. I could get down
- 27:55Speaker 1: with that. I hate the thing. It was a tad
- 27:57Speaker 1: juicy for me, but it was delicious, and everybody around
- 28:01Speaker 1: me watched horrified. Oh I wouldn't wou I would have
- 28:06Speaker 1: been all in on that. My entire family was like,
- 28:08Speaker 1: that's disgusting. I was like, you were wrong. It's very good.
- 28:12Speaker 1: During the holidays at the Jolly Holiday Bakery sells a
- 28:16Speaker 1: Thanks Miss sandwich, which is like a turkey cranberry stuffing
- 28:19Speaker 1: situation that it's delicious as well. Yeah, lots of good stuff. Yeah.
- 28:25Speaker 1: I just like to go eat there mm hmm, just
- 28:28Speaker 1: walk around and look at stuff. I don't really care
- 28:30Speaker 1: about anything else. I like the rides, but I don't
- 28:32Speaker 1: love waiting in line either. Oh. The only ride I
- 28:34Speaker 1: like is that one we played though, buzz Lightyear one. Yeah,
- 28:38Speaker 1: that's the best. And if I'm wrong, You can email
- 28:42Speaker 1: us at Girls Gone Homework at gmail dot com. Our
- 28:44Speaker 1: last email is from Jean. We watched the first Hearts
- 28:49Speaker 1: Around the Table movie this weekend and absolutely loved the
- 28:53Speaker 1: concept for intertwined movies centered around a diverse and proud
- 28:57Speaker 1: foster family are so timely, you meek and powerful. The
- 29:01Speaker 1: scenes with Angie talking to her foster kids bade us
- 29:04Speaker 1: tear up every time, and we can't wait to see
- 29:06Speaker 1: the character of Rory continue to grow. Gotta say though,
- 29:10Speaker 1: in the end, we were on team Billionaire Brady and
- 29:15Speaker 1: then in parentheses, says Tom because it's Brady from the
- 29:18Speaker 1: way Home playing Tom, Yes, rather than Andrew. Tom was
- 29:23Speaker 1: carrying down to earth and interesting, while Andrew was just
- 29:26Speaker 1: too brooding and exercising all the time. When Andrew was
- 29:31Speaker 1: hanging around while Jenna talked to Rory after he ran away,
- 29:35Speaker 1: we were yelling, let them have a private moment. Why
- 29:40Speaker 1: did he have to hang out in that scene? I
- 29:42Speaker 1: hope that Sherry gets a better romance next week now, Megan, Yes,
- 29:47Speaker 1: I saw you up and the Girls Gone Home Homework
- 29:49Speaker 1: Facebook group, Yes asking about this movie because we are
- 29:52Speaker 1: not reviewing. Yes, because I saw some comments positive about
- 30:00Speaker 1: the first Hearts around the Table movie. Now, we're not
- 30:02Speaker 1: reviewing this as a reminder, we're not not reviewing it
- 30:06Speaker 1: because of the movie. We decided ahead of time that
- 30:09Speaker 1: April was going to be a fan favorite month for
- 30:12Speaker 1: planning purposes to work around our own schedules. Then they
- 30:15Speaker 1: announced these movies, so I was just going to just
- 30:19Speaker 1: skip them and pretend that they never happened. But then
- 30:21Speaker 1: I saw positive comments, so I said, Yo, do I
- 30:23Speaker 1: need to watch them. The overall feeling was that they
- 30:26Speaker 1: were better than people anticipated that they would be. A
- 30:30Speaker 1: lot of people kept saying it was better than the
- 30:32Speaker 1: Unwrapping Christmas. It was better than I thought it would be.
- 30:36Speaker 1: I wasn't seeing a lot of people saying this is
- 30:38Speaker 1: a must see, can't miss Hallmark movie. But I do
- 30:42Speaker 1: think people were pleasantly surprised by these Well, I'm super
- 30:45Speaker 1: into a story about foster families, yes, and movies with
- 30:52Speaker 1: diverse characters. Yes, So I may have to put on
- 30:56Speaker 1: my list to watch. Yes, I think I'll check them out.
- 31:00Speaker 1: And that's a wrap on our first official mail bag post,
- 31:04Speaker 1: The Way Home. Once again, these episodes can only happen
- 31:08Speaker 1: with your feedback, so thank you for your emails. You
