Houston Christian University is grieving the loss of its beloved president, Reverend Robert Sloan Jr., who died at 77 after a massive stroke. Leading HCU since 2006, he transformed the school into its most successful era—expanding enrollment, academic offerings, and campus life while sparking a spiritual revival. Before HCU, he shaped Baylor University for a decade, launching its theological seminary and spearheading the “Baylor 2012” vision.
