Speaker 3: A little bit of shifting around this morning. I had

Speaker 3: Steven Allan Adams from aug to the newspaper schedule to

Speaker 3: be on the show. We talked about that yesterday, but
• 1:53
Speaker 3: we had to slide in a different guest, and so
• 1:54
Speaker 3: I talked to Steven, and he, being the true pro

• 2:49
Speaker 4: Morning Dave. How are you doing.
• 2:50
Speaker 3: I'm doing fine. Thank you for being here. I know
• 2:51
Speaker 3: there's several things that we want to get to this morning,
• 2:54
Speaker 3: but I do want to talk about the next in
• 2:56
Speaker 3: a series of County cleanup efforts. Now, we had one
• 3:00
Speaker 3: couple weeks ago. The second one is going to be
• 3:02
Speaker 3: in the South Charleston area and that is this Saturday.
• 3:06
Speaker 3: It's located at the intersection of C Street and Fourth Avenue.
• 3:11
Speaker 3: That's behind Speedway there in South Charleston. But we want
• 3:14
Speaker 3: people to understand that just because the you know, the
• 3:17
Speaker 3: setup is in South Charleston, anybody can can come there.
• 3:21
Speaker 5: Yeah, absolutely anyone here in Connall County that wants to
• 3:24
Speaker 5: recycle or get rid of trash debris, whether it's been
• 3:28
Speaker 5: collected in your garage, whether it's in the backyard. You know,
• 3:31
Speaker 5: we get a lot of people saying, thanks for having these.
• 3:33
Speaker 5: My wife's been wanting me to get rid of this
• 3:35
Speaker 5: all year. These are This is why we do this
• 3:37
Speaker 5: because we want to make sure that we offer this
• 3:39
Speaker 5: service to everyone here in Kannall County. And also we
• 3:42
Speaker 5: know that it's going to be environmental in a way
• 3:44
Speaker 5: that a lot of the times, we don't want this
• 3:46
Speaker 5: trash on the side of the road. We don't want
• 3:47
Speaker 5: these tires in the creeks and the rivers. Not only
• 3:50
Speaker 5: is that it doesn't look bad, but it also causes
• 3:54
Speaker 5: flooding down the road and so this really checks a
• 3:57
Speaker 5: lot of boxes. And that's why these kind of commission
• 3:59
Speaker 5: has been proud for for decades now to have these
• 4:02
Speaker 5: county cleanups in the fall and in the spring. I'd
• 4:05
Speaker 5: like to talk a little bit about the numbers from
• 4:06
Speaker 5: trips ago. Yeah, on September seventh, you know, I came
• 4:09
Speaker 5: one here two weeks ago. Talk about it and thanks
• 4:11
Speaker 5: for doing that, because we saw extreme numbers this year
• 4:14
Speaker 5: compared to other falls. We had eight hundred and fifty
• 4:17
Speaker 5: eight cars drive through, dropping off debris, recycling, metal, air conditioners, refrigerators.
• 4:24
Speaker 5: You named eight and fifty eight different vehicles. Well, so
• 4:27
Speaker 5: we count how many vehicles come through. We do know
• 4:29
Speaker 5: that a lot of people like to come in more
• 4:31
Speaker 5: than once. Yeah, and that's perfectly fine.
• 4:33
Speaker 3: So it's still considered a trip, so to speak. It's
• 4:35
Speaker 3: still a one hundred and fifty visits, We'll say.
• 4:37
  Speaker 5: Yes, and that's a that's a lot of cars, it's
• 4:40
Speaker 5: a lot of trash that we looked at. Thirteen hundred
• 4:43
Speaker 5: tires were recycled with the dp's REP program, which we're
• 4:46
Speaker 5: very grateful for them to be there. It's thirteen hundred tires.
• 4:49
Speaker 5: It's not going to be on the side of the road,
• 4:50
Speaker 5: not going to be in our rivers, in our lakes.
• 4:53
Speaker 5: You know, this is something that's it's just good to have.
• 4:56
Speaker 5: We also had twenty three tons. It's twenty three tons
• 5:00
Speaker 5: of metal that was collected just two weeks ago on
• 5:04
Speaker 5: the September seventh. And know, for you, these are astonishing numbers.
• 5:08
Speaker 5: We're seeing more and more, and so we're grateful that
• 5:10
Speaker 5: people are participating because it just makes it easier and
• 5:13
Speaker 5: easier for this kind of commissioner with you know, commission
• 5:16
Speaker 5: Commissioner slot Nick, Commissioner Slango myself, to keep these going
• 5:20
  Speaker 5: every year.
• 5:21
Speaker 3: Wow, that's some incredible numbers. I appreciate you bringing that
• 5:24
Speaker 3: to the table here now. As you said the last
• 5:25
Speaker 3: time you're here, it's probably quicker commissioner to give the
• 5:28
Speaker 3: folks a list of what you don't take rather than
• 5:31
Speaker 3: just what you do. Partial list and correct me if
• 5:33
Speaker 3: I'm wrong in this of what you won't accept gas
• 5:36
Speaker 3: and propane tanks, any hazardous waste or paint chemicals, motor oil.
• 5:42
Speaker 3: And also keep in mind that this is designed for
• 5:44
Speaker 3: residential folks and not for businesses. Other than that, it's
• 5:48
Speaker 3: pretty much anything goes right. And I would say over
• 5:50
Speaker 3: the years they've done this, they've probably had some pretty
• 5:52
Speaker 3: Maybe you should start a list of most unique items.
• 5:55
Speaker 5: Yeah, electronics are accepted. And we have a lot of
• 5:59
Speaker 5: people bringing broken TVs. How many TVs have a bad
• 6:03
  Speaker 5: pixel a line?
• 6:04
Speaker 3: You used to be back in the day, you take
• 6:05
Speaker 3: it and get it fixed. Now it's they're so cheap,
• 6:07
Speaker 3: you're like, well, let's just go buy a new one, you.
• 6:08
Speaker 5: Know, And a lot of times you don't buy a
• 6:10
Speaker 5: new one, you don't get rid of it until you've
• 6:12
Speaker 5: bought the new ones. You get the new one, you
• 6:14
Speaker 5: put it up, you take the old one off, and
• 6:15
Speaker 5: you go, I'll take care of it later. It might
• 6:17
Speaker 5: be sitting in your garage, it might be sitting somewhere.
• 6:19
Speaker 5: Go ahead, pick that thing up. Come bring it this
• 6:22
Speaker 5: weekend in South Charleston, right behind the speedway on the
• 6:25
Speaker 5: C Street and Fourth Avenue.
• 6:27
Speaker 3: And what time do you start again, We're going to.
• 6:28
Speaker 4: Start eight eight am, okay, and it's going to go
• 6:30
Speaker 4: to a four pm.
• 6:32
Speaker 3: I also want to get this in here. I saw
• 6:33
Speaker 3: this in the social media from the city of Nitro
• 6:36
Speaker 3: just down the road. They're also going to get involved
• 6:38
Speaker 3: and they're doing a thing. They're at their public Works
• 6:41
Speaker 3: on Saturday from seven to three, So if that's more community,
• 6:44
Speaker 3: you can go there as well. But we do want
• 6:46
Speaker 3: to you know, you folks have the Commission do a
• 6:48
Speaker 3: great job of having these things at different locations. The
• 6:51
Speaker 3: last one, as you said, was an LVU. This one's
• 6:53
Speaker 3: in South Charleston, but you don't have to live in
• 6:55
Speaker 3: South Charleston. I mean you could live in Saint Albans
• 6:57
Speaker 3: or wherever to take it there this Saturday.
• 7:00
Speaker 5: No, we're going to be the one three fall cleanups.
• 7:03
Speaker 5: We've already done the one l F. This is Sell Charleston.
• 7:06
Speaker 5: We do this because we try to spread it out
• 7:08
Speaker 5: as much as possible. Now I'll understand we can't do
• 7:10
Speaker 5: this in the middle of downtown Charleston, R right. I
• 7:12
Speaker 5: mean logistically that would be easiest for everybody, But we
• 7:15
Speaker 5: try to find these locations that we're able to hold it.
• 7:17
Speaker 5: I mean, if you haven't attended one, you should definitely
• 7:20
  Speaker 5: just go and see it. I mean, it's a It's
• 7:22
Speaker 5: magnificent what our Planning and Development Office is able to
• 7:25
Speaker 5: do with so many different partners. You know, we have
• 7:28
Speaker 5: we actually have it where you can bring an AC unit,
• 7:31
Speaker 5: an AC conditioner unit and they'll actually take the free
• 7:33
Speaker 5: on out to make sure that it's able to go
• 7:35
Speaker 5: to either recycling or a landfill. We do lots and
• 7:39
Speaker 5: lots of different things, and again things that we can't
• 7:42
Speaker 5: take that we get a lot of requests for. You know,
• 7:44
Speaker 5: if you've got some paint that you just didn't use,
• 7:46
Speaker 5: all up that paint in that that gallon of a paint,
• 7:49
Speaker 5: you can't bring that. We can't dispose of paint, no
• 7:52
Speaker 5: hazardous materials and no chemicals. But anything outside of that, electronics,
• 7:58
Speaker 5: you know, air conditioners, refrigerators. I said this two weeks
• 8:02
Speaker 5: ago in your show. We had somebody come in and
• 8:03
Speaker 5: bring a little John boat in I mean, and.
• 8:06
Speaker 3: We took care of it.
• 8:06
Speaker 5: Mattresses, you know, things that you have collecting around your
• 8:10
Speaker 5: house that you need to get rid of that sometimes
• 8:12
Speaker 5: it's just difficult to get rid of on trash day
• 8:14
Speaker 5: for yourself. Bring it over to us. We'll take care
• 8:17
Speaker 5: of it. And again this is free for everybody. Nobody's
• 8:20
Speaker 5: going to be charged, and everybody's free to come.
• 8:24
Speaker 3: How many people does it take to pull this off?
• 8:25
Speaker 3: I mean they're actually working that particular day, because I
• 8:28
Speaker 3: would imagine, I mean, there'll be people that just bring
• 8:31
Speaker 3: a box of stuff, but there's also going to be
• 8:33
Speaker 3: people with trailers, and there's gonna be people with their
• 8:35
Speaker 3: pickup trucks loaded down. How many people does it take,
• 8:37
Speaker 3: Commissioner to pull this off?
• 8:39
Speaker 5: Well, it also takes first it starts with our Planning
• 8:42
Speaker 5: and Development office and Dave Workman is our director. He
• 8:46
Speaker 5: does an excellent job with this, He's been doing this
• 8:48
Speaker 5: for years. Then the entire staff will be there. We
• 8:51
Speaker 5: also work with West Virginia and Deep a lot of
• 8:53
Speaker 5: times with their reprogram. Is how we are able to
• 8:56
Speaker 5: recycle the tires. We work with some of the AC
• 9:00
Speaker 5: guys in the area who will come as vendors where
• 9:02
Speaker 5: they will take care of removing the free on from
• 9:05
Speaker 5: these AC conditioners. We work with another group that comes
• 9:08
Speaker 5: in for they just recycle just the electronics and so
• 9:12
  Speaker 5: whether it's a printer or whether it's a cell phone,
• 9:16
Speaker 5: anything that they can be an electronic, they'll take care
• 9:18
Speaker 5: of that. Then we have all of our waste managements
• 9:21
Speaker 5: in the area. I mean, the City of Saint Albans
• 9:24
Speaker 5: helps us. The City of Charleston helps us with these
• 9:27
Speaker 5: packer trucks. They let them let us use them for
• 9:30
Speaker 5: the day. I mean, there's a lot of moving parts
• 9:32
Speaker 5: to this, and I mean the first time that I went,
• 9:35
Speaker 5: when I was first elected, I was astonished just how
• 9:38
Speaker 5: much planning goes into this and how well it's one.
• 9:42
Speaker 5: I mean, you go in, you get The longest part
• 9:44
Speaker 5: is the line itself. Once you get in, they take
• 9:47
Speaker 5: care of you instantly. They will remove all the debris
• 9:50
Speaker 5: out of your car. You don't have to get out,
• 9:54
Speaker 5: it's easy. You literally just walk you You just drive in,
• 9:57
Speaker 5: You sit in your car, they tell you where to
• 9:59
Speaker 5: park it and they'll have everything removed and then you're
• 10:01
Speaker 5: just ear out. And so there's a lot of planning
• 10:03
Speaker 5: to this and they do a great job.
• 10:05
Speaker 3: Talking to County Commission President Lance Wheeler, It's nine to
• 10:07
Speaker 3: seventeen Dave Alan Show and five eighty Live brought to
• 10:10
Speaker 3: you in part by Pinnacle Consultants. They're lead paint inspection
• 10:13
Speaker 3: risk assessment services are designed to identify and to assess
• 10:16
Speaker 3: the presence of lead based paint and buildings and other
• 10:18
Speaker 3: structures using a three phase approach of inspection, sampling, the
• 10:22
Speaker 3: lab analysis, and an assessment report. Visit Pinnacle Corp dot net.
• 10:26
Speaker 3: Because what you don't know ken hurt. You've got a
• 10:27
Speaker 3: couple of text here for you, Commissioner. Right again, let's
• 10:29
Speaker 3: do tex, says Dave ask Lance. He may not know why,
• 10:33
Speaker 3: but all that emptied land there in South Charleston is
• 10:35
Speaker 3: that empty for years and not developed? What a pickup
• 10:38
Speaker 3: junk is going to be behind the speedway I visit
• 10:41
Speaker 3: from Florida, says the texture, and it's been like that forever.
• 10:43
Speaker 3: You know anything about that property?
• 10:44
Speaker 4: Well, first off, they're absolutely correct.
• 10:46
Speaker 5: It has been like that forever, and I don't know
• 10:49
Speaker 5: exactly who owns that. But that's something that we've actually
• 10:52
Speaker 5: been working with recently. And I say recently, I mean
• 10:55
Speaker 5: within the last couple of weeks. We've been looking in
• 10:57
Speaker 5: my office of how we can find this type of
• 11:00
Speaker 5: land and figure out how we can maybe market this
• 11:03
Speaker 5: to developers. Now, this is an early stage, and I
• 11:06
  Speaker 5: wouldn't be talking about it if I didn't get a
• 11:08
Speaker 5: text message about it. But this is something we're working on,
• 11:10
Speaker 5: and we're looking all across this county of different land
• 11:14
Speaker 5: that is opportunity for redevelopment, whether it's a business, whether
• 11:18
Speaker 5: it's residential, whatever it might be. We want to look
• 11:21
Speaker 5: at finding these sites because what we've realized is When
• 11:24
Speaker 5: we talk to developers outside the state and we say, hey,
• 11:27
Speaker 5: would you come to West Virginia, They'll say, well, what
• 11:29
Speaker 5: do you have? They're not going to do the work
• 11:32
Speaker 5: and the due diligence, And I understand that, I respect that,
• 11:35
Speaker 5: but that's on you, that's on us, and so that's
• 11:38
Speaker 5: going to be our job and that's something that we're
• 11:39
Speaker 5: going to be doing moving forward. You're seeing it with
• 11:42
  Speaker 5: our tourism.
• 11:42
  Speaker 4: You know.
• 11:43
Speaker 5: I brought in Kerry Smith with our new executive director
• 11:45
Speaker 5: for CVB. She's more than just sending out ads and
• 11:48
Speaker 5: telling people to come here. We're looking at how can
• 11:51
Speaker 5: we use her to find those hot spots of people
• 11:54
Speaker 5: coming into the state, people living in a state and
• 11:57
Speaker 5: showing this to developers and saying, hey, we have something
• 12:00
Speaker 5: as here, we have an investment that is prime opportunity
• 12:03
Speaker 5: for you. Are you willing to put that money in?
• 12:05
Speaker 5: And I think if we do that work on the
• 12:07
Speaker 5: back end, then we're going to be able to start
• 12:08
Speaker 5: really seeing here in the next couple of years some
• 12:11
Speaker 5: real development here to Connall County. But it's going to
• 12:13
Speaker 5: take some time. And this site that was just mentioned
• 12:16
Speaker 5: this is a good one to look at.
• 12:17
Speaker 3: Tex says, where can we dispose of old rush to
• 12:20
Speaker 3: pro paying tanks for grills?
• 12:22
Speaker 4: You know, that's a great question.
• 12:23
Speaker 5: I don't know where you can do that, but if
• 12:25
Speaker 5: you will call my office at the County Commission asked
• 12:28
Speaker 5: for Megan East at my assistant, we'll get an answer
• 12:31
Speaker 5: for you on that one.
• 12:32
Speaker 3: All right, just call the County Commission Texter before we
• 12:34
Speaker 3: let you go. What else is going on? I know
• 12:36
Speaker 3: there was the commission, some of the commissions took part
• 12:39
Speaker 3: in a groundbreaking of the old Caski property yesterday. I've
• 12:41
Speaker 3: got a little news out of about that. I'm going
• 12:43
Speaker 3: to get in that a little bit to a little
• 12:45
Speaker 3: bit later on what's going to go on there, But
• 12:47
Speaker 3: it's pretty big for downtown Charles.
• 12:48
Speaker 5: Let's talk about a piece of property that was actually
• 12:51
Speaker 5: owned a lot of people don't know is owned by
• 12:52
Speaker 5: Charleston Aaray Alliance, which is a partnership economic development with
• 12:56
Speaker 5: the county and the City of Charleston. And what we
• 12:58
Speaker 5: did was we saw that we owned a building that
• 13:02
Speaker 5: needed a lot of deferred maintenance. It needed a new roof,
• 13:05
Speaker 5: it needed a new AC and an air conditioning unit.
• 13:08
Speaker 5: For that isn't five thousand like it is ten thousand
• 13:10
Speaker 5: or fifteen thousand for your home. This is a you know,

Speaker 5: the Caski Building, how could we not have just saved that.
• 13:43
Speaker 5: It was just going to cost taxpayer so much money.
• 13:46
Speaker 5: There's no need for that. Let's give it back to

• 18:21
Speaker 3: do want to mention that you're in town for a
• 18:23
Speaker 3: variety of things. One of those things is you're going
• 18:24
Speaker 3: to be opening up your new campaign headquarters thirty eight
• 18:26
Speaker 3: to twenty mccorkil Avenue. Two openings I understand today, one
• 18:30
Speaker 3: from noon to two, and then you're going to come
• 18:32
Speaker 3: back for the second round I guess from six to eight.
• 18:35
  Speaker 4: Talk about that.
• 18:36
Speaker 10: That's correct, it's actually a thirty eight to twenty two mccorkel.
• 18:39
Speaker 10: We decided, well, I mean, we've been running in this
• 18:41
Speaker 10: campaign since January, and running a statewide campaign from Wheeling
• 18:44
Speaker 10: is challenging just given our geographic location. We've been spending
• 18:48
Speaker 10: so much time on the road. So we really felt
• 18:49
Speaker 10: that having a more central location for this final stretch
• 18:52
Speaker 10: made sense. We found a space that works. It's a
• 18:54
Speaker 10: pretty visible location there on mccorkel, and so we've had
• 18:58
Speaker 10: a lot of folks down here offering to volunteer, help
• 19:01
Speaker 10: us make calls and postcards and all the other stuff
• 19:02
Speaker 10: you have to do in the closing stretch of a campaign.
• 19:04
Speaker 10: So it just made sense. We're gonna open that today
• 19:07
Speaker 10: at noon and then again at six. I'm really excited
• 19:10
Speaker 10: just to get, you know, a southern base of operation
• 19:13
Speaker 10: for us so we can be down here and work
• 19:14
Speaker 10: out of this office going forward, because we need to
• 19:17
Speaker 10: and during this last what is it now, forty eight
• 19:19
Speaker 10: days of this campaign, you know, we need to be
• 19:21
Speaker 10: you know, where the voters are meeting them in their locations,
• 19:24
  Speaker 10: and there's a lot of voters down here. There's a
• 19:26
Speaker 10: lot of voters in a Huntington area so we're gonna
• 19:27
Speaker 10: be down here a lot. You know, the folks up
• 19:29
Speaker 10: at Wheeling pretty much have a pretty good idea of
• 19:31
Speaker 10: who I am, but I need to make sure that
• 19:32
Speaker 10: the folks down this part of the state know as well.
• 19:34
Speaker 3: And who are you. I mean, you've been on the
• 19:36
Speaker 3: show in the past, but I want people to if
• 19:38
Speaker 3: a case they didn't, he just give us the basic
• 19:39
Speaker 3: bio on Glenn Elliott.
• 19:40
Speaker 10: Sure, I'll try to give you the condensed version. Born
• 19:42
Speaker 10: and raised in Wheeling, it's my hometown. Went to I
• 19:45
Speaker 10: went away to college, and then I landed an internship
• 19:48
Speaker 10: with Senator Robert Byrd back in the nineteen nineties, first
• 19:52
Speaker 10: job out of college. Worked with him for five years.
• 19:56
Speaker 10: Really shaped my views on a lot of things. In
• 19:58
Speaker 10: the power of this particular it seat to help West Virginia.
• 20:01
Speaker 10: I went to law school at Georgetown, did the big
• 20:04
Speaker 10: law firm thing for a while in DC, but kind
• 20:06
Speaker 10: of got tired of that. Moved back to Wheeling in
• 20:08
Speaker 10: two thousand and nine. In my thirties, and I really
• 20:11
Speaker 10: got involved in, you know, bringing Wheeling back. Wheeling was
• 20:14
Speaker 10: a city, like so many that had a very you know,
• 20:16
Speaker 10: vibrant mid twentieth century then saw a lot of industrial
• 20:19
Speaker 10: decline and then which led to the decline of our
• 20:21
Speaker 10: downtown by the end of the twentieth century. And so
• 20:24
Speaker 10: I got involved, bought an old vacant building and Wheeling
• 20:27
Speaker 10: made up my home and my project that got involved
• 20:29
Speaker 10: in city politics. Ran from mayor in twenty sixteen, I
• 20:32
Speaker 10: got elected, got re elected in twenty twenty. I couldn't
• 20:34
Speaker 10: run for a third term, but I mean I was
• 20:36
Speaker 10: planning really to step aside from politics, and then Senator
• 20:39
Speaker 10: Mansion I announced that he wasn't going to seek reelection,
• 20:42
Speaker 10: and I really thought of a lot about the seat.
• 20:43
Speaker 10: A Number one, I used to work in the Senate.
• 20:45
Speaker 10: I know how it works. I know you know what
• 20:47
Speaker 10: you can do with that seat. And also I've worked
• 20:49
Speaker 10: with a Senator Mansion and Senator Capital in my capacity
• 20:51
Speaker 10: as mayor of Wheeling, So I have an appreciation for
• 20:53
Speaker 10: what cities need. And I really felt like I was
• 20:56
Speaker 10: the right candidate at the right time. I recognize I'd
• 20:59
Speaker 10: likely be running again very popular governor, but I really
• 21:02
Speaker 10: think if Western new voters look at this campaign and
• 21:05
Speaker 10: look at the two choices that they have, there's really
• 21:07
Speaker 10: no doubt about who is more qualified.
• 21:09
Speaker 3: Talking again with the US sent the candidate Glenn Allie.
• 21:12
Speaker 3: And you've been talking a lot as you've been out
• 21:14
Speaker 3: on the road and social media and so on and
• 21:16
Speaker 3: so forth, Glenn, about the financial issues of Governor Justice.
• 21:20
Speaker 3: I'll give you a chance to weigh in on that.
• 21:21
Speaker 4: If you wish well. I mean, look, you know we
• 21:25
Speaker 4: are Being a US senator is an honor.
• 21:28
Speaker 10: And if you have a record of not paying your taxes,
• 21:31
Speaker 10: not paying your bills, taking money from your employees' health
• 21:34
Speaker 10: insurance premiums to use on some other purpose, that is
• 21:38
Speaker 10: the image we're going to be sending to Washington as
• 21:40
Speaker 10: a reflection on West Virginia. I don't think that's what. Look,
• 21:44
Speaker 10: our state has an image problem nationwide to begin with,
• 21:47
Speaker 10: sending someone there who's so who's just so riddled with
• 21:50
Speaker 10: with ethical lapses and financial improprieties, and sending someone there
• 21:55
Speaker 10: who quite frankly, doesn't put in the work. The governor
• 21:58
Speaker 10: rarely shows up in Charleston here to do it like
• 22:00
Speaker 10: the job he currently has. He tries to do that
• 22:02
Speaker 10: job from Louisbourg. You cannot be an effective senator from Lewisbourg.
• 22:07
Speaker 10: You have to actually go to Washington and put in
• 22:10
Speaker 10: the work, and I think if someone is so compromised
• 22:13
Speaker 10: with debts to Russian and Saturaba in other places, I
• 22:17
Speaker 10: doubt even get a security clearance to get intelligence briefings.
• 22:20
Speaker 10: As a US senator, I don't think he is who
• 22:22
Speaker 10: we want to send to Washington to represent our state.
• 22:25
Speaker 10: I recognize that he is popular, but it's mostly popularity
• 22:28
Speaker 10: based on him going around handing out checks with his
• 22:32
Speaker 10: folksy platitudes and you know, taking photo ops with a dog.
• 22:35
Speaker 10: He's not really if you listen to him. He rarely
• 22:37
Speaker 10: says much of substance. He doesn't put in the work.
• 22:39
Speaker 10: He doesn't even get to work. He hasn't even put
• 22:42
Speaker 10: in the work getting to know members of his own party.
• 22:44
Speaker 10: He has a supermajority Republican legislature right now, and he's
• 22:47
Speaker 10: having a hard time convincing them to do a tax cut.
• 22:49
Speaker 10: When did that ever happen? You know, there's just not
• 22:53
Speaker 10: a work ethic there that's going to translate into being
• 22:56
Speaker 10: an effective senator. Whether you like Senator Bird or not,
• 22:58
Speaker 10: whether you like Senator Match or not, you cannot argue
• 23:01
Speaker 10: that there are two men who showed up each and
• 23:03
Speaker 10: every day, who built relationships across the aisle, you know,
• 23:06
Speaker 10: who are able to deliver for this date.
• 23:08
Speaker 4: I don't see any of those ingredients of governor justice.
• 23:10
Speaker 10: So I do think if people look at this race,
• 23:12
Speaker 10: look at my record at Wheeling of bipartisan and accomplishments
• 23:14
Speaker 10: of working across the aisle. You know, in Wheeling, which
• 23:17
Speaker 10: is a pretty conservative community, it's not exactly some liberal
• 23:20
Speaker 10: enclave like some cities might be dismissed. As Wheelings a
• 23:24
Speaker 10: culturally conservative city. We have been able to work together
• 23:28
Speaker 10: to do a lot of things with seven to zero
• 23:29
Speaker 10: votes from members of council who spanned the political spectrum.
• 23:33
Speaker 10: I'm very proud of my record. I can work with
• 23:35
Speaker 10: the other side. I can work across the isle. So
• 23:37
Speaker 10: folks look at me, I think they're going to see
• 23:38
Speaker 10: there's really it's an easy choice to make this November fifth.
• 23:42
Speaker 3: For his part, Glenn the governor is claiming that a
• 23:45
Speaker 3: lot of fuel on the fire, if you will, about
• 23:47
Speaker 3: its financial problems and problems related to the Greenbrier and
• 23:50
Speaker 3: other justice companies. A lot of this is being done
• 23:52
Speaker 3: strictly for political purposes. That's what he would say.
• 23:55
Speaker 10: What would you say that is, look, you want to
• 23:59
Speaker 10: talk purposes any other business and small business owners know this.
• 24:04
Speaker 10: If you run a retail business that sells alcohol or
• 24:07
Speaker 10: is engaged in the lottery, and you don't pay your
• 24:10
Speaker 10: sales tax, you don't turn your sales taxes over to
• 24:13
Speaker 10: the state after you collect them, you lose those licenses immediately.
• 24:16
Speaker 10: And yet the Greenbrier continues to actually sell alcohol and
• 24:20
Speaker 10: have a casino in it despite being about three million
• 24:23
Speaker 10: dollars delinquent a turning over at sales taxes. So who's
• 24:25
Speaker 10: benefiting from politics here? People in the state tax department
• 24:28
Speaker 10: actually work for the governor, and that's probably why he's
• 24:30
Speaker 10: been given special treatment. He's benefiting from politics. He's not
• 24:34
Speaker 10: being persecuted for it. The idea that your personal financial
• 24:37
Speaker 10: improprieties aren't fair game when you're running for office of
• 24:39
Speaker 10: United States senator is ludicrous. Our voters deserve someone who's
• 24:44
Speaker 10: not going to embarrass the meeting every day and who's
• 24:46
Speaker 10: going to live by the same rules that they.
• 24:47
Speaker 3: Do to Dave Allanchell and five Andy lie Bright to
• 24:50
Speaker 3: you apart by husbands, pizza this much as your favorite hustands,
• 24:53
Speaker 3: get a large eighteen inch pepperoni pizza and a Nata
• 24:55
Speaker 3: and chocolate chip cookie for twenty three, eight ninety nine,
• 24:57
Speaker 3: would you be open to a debate with all Justice good?
• 25:00
Speaker 10: As we've called for one, will continue to call for one.
• 25:02
Speaker 10: I was encouraged to see in the governor's race that
• 25:06
Speaker 10: Patrick Morrisey agreed to debate Stave Steve Williams. I think
• 25:08
Speaker 10: that will be very informative. We've seen at the presidential
• 25:11
Speaker 10: level just how important debates are. Look at the last
• 25:13
Speaker 10: two debates. They've both been in some respects life altering
• 25:16
Speaker 10: for this camp. I mean for those campaigns. You know,
• 25:18
Speaker 10: I would welcome the chance to debate Governor Justice anywhere, anytime.
• 25:21
Speaker 10: He can even bring his dog if he wants, as
• 25:23
Speaker 10: long as I can bring mine. But I do think,
• 25:25
Speaker 10: you know, voters deserve the opportunity to This is an
• 25:27
Speaker 10: important seat for West Virginians. You know, we talk a
• 25:30
Speaker 10: lot about the presidential election, but I would argue that
• 25:32
Speaker 10: the Senate race and the governor's race are the two
• 25:34
  Speaker 10: most important races.
• 25:35
Speaker 4: On the ballot this fall. Especially.
• 25:37
Speaker 10: You know, someone who can be elected senator can serve
• 25:39
Speaker 10: for a long time. And really, if you look at
• 25:41
Speaker 10: the track record of Bird and Mansion, they both were
• 25:44
Speaker 10: able to get re elected and actually can continue to
• 25:48
Speaker 10: actually build respect within the Senate and deliver for West Virginia.
• 25:52
Speaker 10: You know that's what the seat can do. But you
• 25:54
Speaker 10: got to get it right. You don't want to elect
• 25:56
Speaker 10: someone who is not going to put in the work
• 25:57
Speaker 10: and it's just going to use it as a vanity
• 26:00
Speaker 10: job for a year or two and then resign.
• 26:01
Speaker 4: That's not the way to get value out of this
• 26:03
  Speaker 4: US Senate seat.
• 26:04
Speaker 3: Do you think, sir, and the others have said this,
• 26:07
Speaker 3: do you think that if he is elected he will
• 26:08
Speaker 3: not serve the full six.
• 26:09
Speaker 10: I don't see how he could. Just quite frankly, you
• 26:13
Speaker 10: don't see the work ethic now, you don't see physically.
• 26:17
Speaker 10: You just don't see someone who looks like he's very healthy.
• 26:19
Speaker 10: You know, being a senator is not like being a governor.
• 26:22
Speaker 10: The world doesn't stop for you and revolve around you.
• 26:24
Speaker 10: You can't be up forty to fifty minutes late for
• 26:26
Speaker 10: every event that you said, oh, like you do when
• 26:28
Speaker 10: you're a governor. He's always late for his press conferences.
• 26:31
Speaker 10: He doesn't respect others people's time. But the Senate doesn't
• 26:34
Speaker 10: stop and wait for you. There's one hundred people in
• 26:35
Speaker 10: the Senate, ninety five of them think they should be president.
• 26:38
Speaker 10: There's a lot of egos there. The world does not
• 26:40
Speaker 10: wait for you. You can't go there thinking the world
• 26:42
Speaker 10: owes you a favor like he sometimes does. I don't
• 26:44
Speaker 10: think it's going to translate into affect the Senate career,
• 26:47
Speaker 10: and I don't think he's got the sambay to make it.
• 26:48
Speaker 3: Six years when you signed up to run, Glenn, you
• 26:52
Speaker 3: knew that having the D after your name in West
• 26:55
Speaker 3: Virginia in twenty three, twenty twenty four is going to
• 26:58
Speaker 3: be difficult. There will be those I have a text
• 27:02
Speaker 3: actually that said something to this effect that said the
• 27:04
Speaker 3: text was a vote for him as a vote to
• 27:06
Speaker 3: keep Schumer in power as Senate leader.
• 27:08
  Speaker 11: No way.
• 27:08
Speaker 3: What do you say when you're out campaigning to people
• 27:10
Speaker 3: in West Virginia is a solidly read state. It's getting
• 27:13
Speaker 3: rid of two more counties Clay in Summer's just Fliperd.
• 27:16
Speaker 3: What do you say to those people that say, well,
• 27:18
Speaker 3: I'm not going to vote for you, Glenn Elliott because
• 27:20
  Speaker 3: you have a D after your name and I don't
• 27:22
Speaker 3: like and fill in national names here, Pelosi, Schumer. Whatever,
• 27:26
Speaker 3: What do you say to those people?
• 27:27
Speaker 10: Look, this particular Senate seed has been held by for
• 27:30
Speaker 10: the last sixty five years by two Democrats who definitely
• 27:33
Speaker 10: did not go walk lock stepping vera.
• 27:35
  Speaker 4: With their party.
• 27:36
Speaker 10: I'm the same type of guy. I'm not afraid to
• 27:38
Speaker 10: stand up to my party if my party's not helping
• 27:39
Speaker 10: Western GENI. In fact, I was very vocal early this
• 27:42
Speaker 10: year when the Cleveland Cliffs facility closed down a weird
• 27:45
Speaker 10: and in calling on President Biden to overturn the decision
• 27:47
Speaker 10: of the International Trade Commission. I challenge anyone to find
• 27:50
Speaker 10: one example where Jim Justice is willing to stand up
• 27:54
Speaker 10: to his party on anything. He is the one who
• 27:56
Speaker 10: is who's completely tied to his party on everything I will.
• 28:00
Speaker 10: I would never be afraid to stand up to my
• 28:02
Speaker 10: party if I thought they're going to hurt West Virginia.
• 28:05
Speaker 10: The National Democratic Party is not helping me in this race.
• 28:07
Speaker 10: I'm doing this race on my own, and I'm certainly
• 28:09
Speaker 10: if I get elected, I'm not going to be beholden
• 28:11
Speaker 10: to anybody. You know, I identify as a Democrat because
• 28:14
Speaker 10: I grew up with pictures of Franklin wrote Franklin Roosevelt
• 28:17
Speaker 10: on my grandparents' wall. You know, the Democratic Party to
• 28:19
Speaker 10: me is a party of underdogs of the working class.
• 28:22
  Speaker 4: That's what I am.
• 28:23
Speaker 10: I think the party has sometimes drifted. I drifted away
• 28:26
Speaker 10: from that in the way it's perceived. I think we've
• 28:28
Speaker 10: let Republicans define us as what we're not. But look
• 28:30
Speaker 10: at my record and Wheeling, look at what we've done there.
• 28:33
Speaker 10: We've gotten things done in a bipartisan way. You know,
• 28:35
Speaker 10: I would do the same thing as a senator. So
• 28:36
Speaker 10: I hope people can look past just party. You know,
• 28:39
Speaker 10: party a party, you know, different whims or whatever. Different
• 28:43
Speaker 10: things become newsworthy this year next, where overtime things change,
• 28:47
Speaker 10: but character does it.
• 28:48
Speaker 4: You know, work ethic doesn't change.
• 28:51
Speaker 10: If you look at my record, I think you could
• 28:53
Speaker 10: easily sort of leave yourself of any concerns that I'm
• 28:56
Speaker 10: going to be some part as a hack, I would
• 28:58
Speaker 10: definitely not look at this job is too important to
• 29:00
Speaker 10: put party above West Virginia and the country.
• 29:04
Speaker 3: You have a website or social media. Where's the best

Speaker 3: So thank you very much, Creuton. I appreciate it. Texa says,

Speaker 3: that was a long text. I'll get to that after

Speaker 3: we talked to Jill Garret. How you doing, Jill?
• 33:45
Speaker 14: I'm doing great. How are you?
• 33:47
Speaker 3: Thank you for being here today because I know it's
• 33:49
Speaker 3: not a busy couple of days for you, little bit.
• 33:50
Speaker 3: I mean, all right, so I gotta say this. I
• 33:53
Speaker 3: have you on the show. A couple of days ago.
• 33:56
Speaker 3: You left my show to go get married and then
• 33:59
Speaker 3: went to the ballpark, because right, yep, Okay, write this down.
• 34:02
Speaker 3: This may be the only time in history, I guess,
• 34:05
Speaker 3: has ever left my show to go get married.
• 34:06
Speaker 14: Yeah, it's part of the baseball life. I married Carlos Masa.
• 34:11
Speaker 14: He's a relief pitcher on The Dirty Birds. We've known
• 34:13
Speaker 14: each other for about three years and just kind of
• 34:16
Speaker 14: did a small elopement because he's from Venezuela. So you
• 34:19
Speaker 14: need to get that green card process started.
• 34:22
Speaker 3: Well, there you go, and of course I'm sure there'll
• 34:25
Speaker 3: be other parties, probably after the season.
• 34:28
Speaker 14: Definitely a big religious ceremony in Los Angeles, where my
• 34:30
Speaker 14: parents are from, in November.
• 34:31
Speaker 3: All right, good good stuff. All right, well, congratulations, thanks you.
• 34:34
Speaker 3: So the Dirty Birds continue their playoff run. Last night
• 34:37
Speaker 3: they lost to Gastonia. So the series is now tied
• 34:40
Speaker 3: at one apiece and shifts to Gastonia tomorrow night. Tomorrow night,
• 34:44
Speaker 3: So let's talk about that. I want to talk about
• 34:46
Speaker 3: that game one the other night of that series, twelve
• 34:49
Speaker 3: innings and the batter was hit, is that right correct?
• 34:53
Speaker 3: And took his base at that end of the game.
• 34:55
Speaker 14: Yep. So four hours, eleven minutes, crazy game one to
• 34:58
Speaker 14: start off the playoffs, and it was Jared Carr batting
• 35:01
Speaker 14: in the bottom twelve inning, West Virginia native got hit
• 35:04
Speaker 14: with the bases loaded and that ended the ball game.
• 35:06
  Speaker 3: I didn't realize he was a West Virginia nat. I
• 35:08
Speaker 3: guess I just didn't put two and two together. That's
• 35:10
Speaker 3: that's pretty good stuff right there. And then you come
• 35:12
Speaker 3: back to go Mark Ballpark last night, didn't were you guys?
• 35:14
Speaker 3: Delayed by rain at all. Didn't you know?
• 35:16
Speaker 14: It rained a little bit during the game, But that's
• 35:18
Speaker 14: the beauty of turf. We never have to worry about
• 35:20
  Speaker 14: tilves too.
• 35:20
Speaker 3: As long as you'll have lightning, you're in good shape.
• 35:22
Speaker 3: Exactly so, But you lost the game last night. What
• 35:24
Speaker 3: was the final score?
• 35:24
Speaker 14: Seven to the final score? That one was tough. Our
• 35:27
Speaker 14: bats did come alive. We were out hitting them, but
• 35:30
Speaker 14: just couldn't string hits together to get runs. There were
• 35:32
Speaker 14: a few errors in the field, and it would have
• 35:34
Speaker 14: been nice to go into Gastoni with a two game lead,
• 35:37
Speaker 14: but we're still tied up. It's anyone's ballgame.
• 35:39
Speaker 3: So again, the next game will be tomorrow night. And
• 35:42
Speaker 3: one of the questions that I get is people ask, well,
• 35:45
Speaker 3: when they're on the road, how do I follow the team?
• 35:47
Speaker 3: I know you folks do a great job in your
• 35:49
Speaker 3: social media, but if they want to watch, they want
• 35:50
Speaker 3: to listen. How is that possible?
• 35:52
Speaker 14: Absolutely so. Flow Baseball is where all Atlantic League games
• 35:55
Speaker 14: are streamed. You can watch, you can listen there. I
• 35:58
Speaker 14: will be traveling as a fan to go soport my
• 36:00
Speaker 14: husband and the team, but you can listen to Noah.
• 36:03
Speaker 14: He's the voice of Gastonia. He's it does a great job.
• 36:05
Speaker 14: If you go to flow baseball dot com, you can
• 36:07
Speaker 14: subscribe there and watch the games.
• 36:09
Speaker 3: So it's the best of five and we're tied at
• 36:12
Speaker 3: one apiece, so all the rest of the games will
• 36:14
Speaker 3: be in Gastonia, right.
• 36:15
Speaker 14: Correct, So Friday, Saturday, and then if necessary Sunday. If
• 36:19
Speaker 14: we win, then we are in the championship series home
• 36:22
Speaker 14: games Tuesday and Wednesday.
• 36:23
Speaker 3: All right, that's what I wanted to ask you, and
• 36:24
Speaker 3: I know, as I said when you were on the
• 36:26
Speaker 3: show just a couple of days ago, Jill, how superstitious
• 36:29
Speaker 3: sports people can be, especially baseball. There's no other sport
• 36:32
Speaker 3: like baseball when it comes to tradition, superstitions. We got
• 36:35
Speaker 3: to do no jinxes or anything like that. So we
• 36:37
Speaker 3: don't want to get ahead of ourselves. But if you
• 36:39
Speaker 3: do win the series, then you'll have a championship series
• 36:43
Speaker 3: with at least how many games.
• 36:45
Speaker 14: In true games at home?
• 36:46
Speaker 3: With two games at home. Who's the top team in
• 36:49
  Speaker 3: the other division?
• 36:50
Speaker 14: Right now, York is leading Lancaster. So York is up
• 36:53
Speaker 14: two games to nothing and they're about to go home
• 36:56
  Speaker 14: and play, so.
• 36:57
Speaker 3: Very good chance and they can go either way. That's
• 36:59
Speaker 3: why they play the game, Jill, But but very good
• 37:02
Speaker 3: chance it's gonna be York possibly talking about this Gastonia team.
• 37:05
Speaker 14: Gastonia is really good. They're a tough team to beat
• 37:08
Speaker 14: at home. That's why we wanted to have be two
• 37:09
Speaker 14: games up in the series. But I think it's their
• 37:13
Speaker 14: bats that really come alive. They start off slow, but
• 37:17
Speaker 14: they can score a lot of runs at the end
• 37:19
Speaker 14: of the game, and that's what puts a lot of
• 37:21
Speaker 14: pressure on our bullpen. They're a good team, they've only
• 37:24
Speaker 14: lost a few games at home, and they have the
• 37:26
Speaker 14: best record overall in the entire league.
• 37:29
Speaker 3: And we should be used to Gastonia because we've played
• 37:31
Speaker 3: them now twice. This week we go play them down
• 37:35
Speaker 3: to their place, But then last week we've spent the
• 37:38
Speaker 3: entire week against How many games in a row have
• 37:40
Speaker 3: we played against Gastonia.
• 37:41
Speaker 14: We've now had eight games in a row. So and
• 37:43
Speaker 14: there was there was a benches clearing conversation not overawl
• 37:47
Speaker 14: between the two teams on Tuesday, and that's to be
• 37:49
Speaker 14: expected when you play each other so often throughout the season,
• 37:52
Speaker 14: and that many days in a row. But what's exciting
• 37:54
Speaker 14: about that? I did say that Gastonia statistically is quote
• 37:58
Speaker 14: unquote the best team in the league because of their record.
• 38:01
Speaker 14: But when you play a team so many days in
• 38:03
  Speaker 14: a row, it's up to the baseball guys. It's anybody's
• 38:07
Speaker 14: game at that point. So I have a good feeling
• 38:09
  Speaker 14: going into Gastonia.
• 38:10
Speaker 3: A bitch clearing conversation.
• 38:12
Speaker 14: No, no punches. I don't even think there was any shoving.
• 38:14
Speaker 14: Maybe some like chest touching, you know, but mainly mainly conversation.
• 38:18
Speaker 3: What were they arguing about? What was it called?
• 38:20
Speaker 14: Jake Gatewood he for the Gastonia. He thought it was
• 38:24
Speaker 14: a home run, it was a double. And Stevie Ledesma,
• 38:28
Speaker 14: who was our hero of the game, got out of it.
• 38:30
Speaker 14: There was runners on second and third, nobody out and
• 38:32
Speaker 14: he got out of it unscathed in extra innings. And
• 38:35
Speaker 14: Jake Gatewood had a conversation with our catcher rus for Estrada,
• 38:38
Speaker 14: a strata, very defensive guy, and our entire team came out.
• 38:42
Speaker 14: You support your catcher.
• 38:44
Speaker 3: That's one of the things I love about baseball. I mean,
• 38:46
Speaker 3: you know you and I don't want to be that.
• 38:48
Speaker 3: Gavi says, I just watched it for the fights, like
• 38:49
Speaker 3: people watch hockey. I don't necessarily mean that. But I
• 38:52
Speaker 3: love the fact that, especially with managers and whatnot, how
• 38:55
Speaker 3: they can get up an umpire's face and they can
• 38:56
Speaker 3: kick dirt and whatever. But then afterwards everybody has a
• 38:58
Speaker 3: beer and it's all over with exactly.
• 39:00
Speaker 14: That's I love the game. I especially because baseball is
• 39:04
Speaker 14: not slower, but there's breaks where you can have those
• 39:06
Speaker 14: converse chasenge. I can see Estrawa having conversations at Gatewood
• 39:09
Speaker 14: and I'm thinking, oh man, there's going to be something
• 39:12
  Speaker 14: happening soon.

• 39:36
Speaker 3: just for a moment, because I know what a what
• 39:38
Speaker 3: a baseball fan you are in general. Officially, my Cincinnati
• 39:42
Speaker 3: Rads were eliminated from the playoffs last week. I mean
• 39:44
Speaker 3: it would have taken you know, an act of God,
• 39:46
Speaker 3: the baseball gods and everybody in between to get a man.
• 39:49
Speaker 3: But officially they're now you're a Red Sox fan. Yeah, right,
• 39:52
Speaker 3: because that's where your family's like originally.
• 39:54
Speaker 14: Exactly, that's from there.
• 39:55
  Speaker 5: I wouldn't.
• 39:55
Speaker 14: I mean, working in baseball unfortunately, don't follow baseball as
• 40:00
Speaker 14: closely as I should.
• 40:01
Speaker 3: Yeah, but I mean I think the Red Sox at
• 40:03
  Speaker 3: a decent season.
• 40:04
Speaker 14: Have they have They haven't clinched it, but I saw
• 40:06
Speaker 14: the New York Yankees clinch last night.
• 40:08
Speaker 4: So no, you love that.
• 40:09
Speaker 14: Oh it's been great.
• 40:11
Speaker 3: Well, you know, when it comes time for September and October,
• 40:14
Speaker 3: never count the Yankees out, you know that. I never
• 40:15
Speaker 3: count the Red Sox out. There's something I like, though,
• 40:18
Speaker 3: when it comes to Major League Baseball about having the
• 40:20
Speaker 3: I mean, I wish it were the Reds, but I
• 40:22
Speaker 3: like to have those legacy teams involved, whether it's the
• 40:24
Speaker 3: Yankees or the Red Sox, the Dodgers, those teams. And
• 40:27
Speaker 3: I can tell you that the networks like it too,
• 40:29
Speaker 3: because there's not always a lot of excitement over you know,
• 40:34
Speaker 3: a team from Seattle or Arizona or Tampa or whatever
• 40:36
Speaker 3: they like, those Red Sox Cubs, those teams with the
• 40:39
  Speaker 3: national following.
• 40:40
Speaker 14: There's so much history behind those teams too. In the playoffs,
• 40:43
Speaker 14: and even the Yankees and Red Sox play, it's so
• 40:45
Speaker 14: much fun. I actually got to work the twenty eighteen
• 40:47
Speaker 14: series between those two teams, so it's always a lot
• 40:49
Speaker 14: of fun to see those all right.
• 40:51
Speaker 3: So again, the series is now tied at one game apiece.
• 40:54
Speaker 3: Charleston won game one. Gastonia came back last night to
• 40:57
Speaker 3: win Game two. They're going to travel night and then
• 41:00
Speaker 3: tomorrow six thirty five, seven o'clock, seven o'clock in Gastonia,
• 41:06
Speaker 3: and so we gotta we got we gotta get it
• 41:08
Speaker 3: in gear here. I'd love to have left Charleston with
• 41:10
  Speaker 3: two wins.
• 41:11
Speaker 14: It would have been great. But Friday night tomorrow we
• 41:14
Speaker 14: have David Lebron starting, and he was the one that
• 41:16
Speaker 14: pitched when we clinched last Friday. He pitched eight scoreless innings,
• 41:20
Speaker 14: only giving up one hit and one walk. So I'm
• 41:23
Speaker 14: not too concerned right now. If we can take Friday's game,
• 41:26
Speaker 14: I think we'll be all right, all right.
• 41:28
Speaker 3: Joe Garon, where can people again. Give us that website.
• 41:31

• 41:32
Speaker 14: Yep, go to flowbaseball dot com. That's where you can
• 41:34
Speaker 14: watch the games in Gastonia. And then when we come
• 41:36
Speaker 14: back for the championship series, if you can't come to
• 41:38
Speaker 14: the ballpark, you can watch there too. Now, you said that,
• 41:41
Speaker 14: not me, I'm manifesting it.
• 41:44
Speaker 3: You said it because I wasn't going to go there
• 41:46
Speaker 3: and say we don't want to Jex. But you're the
• 41:47
Speaker 3: one that said when.
• 41:48
Speaker 14: We come back, we're manifested.
• 41:49
Speaker 3: I hope the folks in Gastonia didn't hear that. I'm
• 41:51
Speaker 3: sure that's all right, Joe gear to the dirty words.

Speaker 3: but I do appreciate it. We got to get back

Speaker 3: but it needs to be toned way way back. I
• 46:18
Speaker 3: long for the days when we had boring presidential debates,

• 47:11
Speaker 3: at noon, and the pregame show is going to come
• 47:13
Speaker 3: from Columbus for the Marshall and Ohio State game. And
• 47:16
Speaker 3: if you followed coach Huff over the last twenty four
• 47:19
Speaker 3: to forty eight hours or so, he jokingly jokingly offered
• 47:24
Speaker 3: any Ohio State player all you can eat biscuits from
• 47:27
Speaker 3: tutors if they would transfer to Marshall. And he said
• 47:32
Speaker 3: it as a joke. But this story has now gone national.
• 47:36
Speaker 3: It was on ESPN and it was on other sports
• 47:39
Speaker 3: entities yesterday. So I'm sure Hoppy's going to ask Huff
• 47:42
Speaker 3: about that too. That's a lot of biscuit, you, coach,
• 47:45
Speaker 3: Do you know? Do you know how big lineman are

• 48:28
Speaker 3: a Texter, Texa, Dave, you said, the last Trump assassin
• 48:33
Speaker 3: wasn't Republican. He supported Haley and Ramaswami. If he wasn't Republican,
• 48:37
Speaker 3: he was at least on the conservative side of politics.
• 48:40
Speaker 3: The left and Democrats aren't trying to assassinate Trump. It's
• 48:43
Speaker 3: Republicans and conservatives. Republicans and conservatives need some introspection as
• 48:48
Speaker 3: to why, Yeah, he was a he was registered unaffiliated.
• 48:51
Speaker 3: That's that's the point. I was not getting to his
• 48:54
Speaker 3: political ideology. I was saying that, for the record, he
• 48:56
Speaker 3: was unaffiliated. Tex says West Virginia would become a Muslims
• 49:00
Speaker 3: before legalizing cannabis, says a Texter. Texays all they could
• 49:05
Speaker 3: eat tutors business except for the Mountaineer. True Texas. Mister
• 49:11
Speaker 3: Elliott says a Democratic party is for the underdog. He's correct.
• 49:14
Speaker 3: The party is definitely an underdog in any elections because
• 49:17
Speaker 3: of the extreme views of the party. Governor Justice has
• 49:20
Speaker 3: my vote and will be a great senator as a Texter,
• 49:24
Speaker 3: So I didn't want to follow up on this just
• 49:26
Speaker 3: a little bit. Huntington mayor and Democratic candidate for governor
• 49:29
Speaker 3: Steve Williams made what some people consider to be a
• 49:33
Speaker 3: shocking statement for anyone trying to get elected to higher
• 49:37
Speaker 3: office in West Virginia. Keyword, they're being higher West Virginia,
• 49:41
Speaker 3: of course, as you know, a solidly read state. As
• 49:43
Speaker 3: I mentioned earlier this week, two more counties Clay and
• 49:46
Speaker 3: Summers have now flipped red as well. Mister Williams said
• 49:50
Speaker 3: yesterday that he fully supports the recreational use of cannabis products.
• 49:57
Speaker 3: So I've already had a couple people way in on
• 49:59
Speaker 3: that I would be interested to know. Does that change
• 50:02
Speaker 3: your opinion of Steve Williams? And look, just like I
• 50:05
Speaker 3: told Glenn Elliott and I know both gentlemen. Both gentlemen
• 50:08
Speaker 3: have been on the show. Today was the first day
• 50:09
Speaker 3: I've actually met Glenn Elliott in person. But Steve Williams
• 50:12
Speaker 3: I've known for a number of years. Both good people,
• 50:16
Speaker 3: both great guys. It's going to be a very difficult climate.
• 50:20
Speaker 3: I think that they both realize that and have kind
• 50:22
Speaker 3: of accepted that for either one of them to get
• 50:23
Speaker 3: elected in a state as read as West Virginia. But
• 50:27
Speaker 3: does the fact that Steve Williams the Huntington mayor, and
• 50:30
Speaker 3: again he's going to be on with Hopey to talk
• 50:32
Speaker 3: about this during talk line, does that change your opinion
• 50:35
Speaker 3: of Steve Williams in any way that he now supports
• 50:40
Speaker 3: the recreational use of marijuana in West Virginia. There are
• 50:45
Speaker 3: a lot of people that have no issue with medical marijuana.
• 50:50
Speaker 3: I being one of them. But they draw the line
• 50:53
Speaker 3: at record. I mean, heck, if you are listening to
• 50:56
Speaker 3: Harvey Payton on with Jeff jenkins On as the Lawyer
• 51:00
Speaker 3: at eight thirty this morning on our station, Harvey Payton
• 51:04
Speaker 3: a good friend who leans to be a little bit
• 51:06
Speaker 3: more liberal. By the way, Happy belated birthday to Harvey Payton.
• 51:14
Speaker 3: Even he said he had a problem with the recreational
• 51:17
Speaker 3: use of marijuana. And there are a lot of people
• 51:21
Speaker 3: that support medical marijuana that may not necessarily support the
• 51:26
Speaker 3: recreational use thereof. So in the last and they don't
• 51:30
Speaker 3: have a lot of time, I do have some text
• 51:31
Speaker 3: to get to. But does it change your opinion of
• 51:33
Speaker 3: Steve Williams? Are you more likely to vote for him now?
• 51:36
Speaker 3: Are you less likely to vote for him? Or does
• 51:38
Speaker 3: it matter one way or the other. I think though
• 51:41
Speaker 3: that anyone that supports a recreational marijuana and I tend
• 51:45
Speaker 3: to be more libertarian. I really don't care what people do.
• 51:48
Speaker 3: Needs to realize that as long as you marijuana's got
• 51:51
Speaker 3: to have the same rules as alcohol. So if you
• 51:54
Speaker 3: light up and you get on the road, that's DUI,
• 51:56
Speaker 3: that's driving under the influence, and you are going to
• 52:00
Speaker 3: get arrested as well. You should. Tex says, I would
• 52:03
Speaker 3: encourage Independence to vote libertarian this go around. It's a
• 52:06
Speaker 3: foregone conclusion that Trump will win West Virginia, but those
• 52:08
Speaker 3: of us tired with the status quo have an opportunity
• 52:11
Speaker 3: to do to express that it's time we have a
• 52:13
  Speaker 3: third party option.
• 52:14
  Speaker 9: Of the nation.
• 52:15
Speaker 3: The health of the Republic may well depend on it.
• 52:19
Speaker 3: Tex says the Trump assassin had a Harris bumper sticker
• 52:23
Speaker 3: on his truck in Hawaii. Try again, Texter Texas says, hey,
• 52:27
Speaker 3: they're a Text and Dave site, a poll of elected
• 52:29
Speaker 3: Democrats calling for violence. Then we'll talk about both sides.
• 52:33
Speaker 3: Until then, remember there are very five people on both
• 52:35
Speaker 3: sides of the neo Nazi Riley look at Oregon, says
• 52:38
Speaker 3: a texture which began with recreational pot After only four years,
• 52:41
Speaker 3: they've now restored criminal penalties for drug possession. Brought to
• 52:43
Speaker 3: an end a key portion of one of the nation's
