Union Pacific No. 616, a 1907 locomotive resting in Nampa’s Lakeview Park since 1958, has taken its first major restoration step: asbestos removal using specialized wet containment methods. Now safe, the Treasure Valley Historical Railroad Society plans to evaluate its boiler with ultrasonic testing.
