- 0:58Speaker 3: GNX Luther. A.K.A. God Secret Gardener.
- 1:02Speaker 1: A.K.A.
- 1:03Speaker 3: Draymond Green Arrow.

- 1:10Speaker 2: What's going on?
- 1:11Speaker 1: I mean, I straight up came with one A.K.A. And
- 1:14Speaker 1: this man just over here, you know, flaming me out
- 1:17Speaker 1: right now. Immediately with the fire booster gold off top.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Some of these are just from the last time I
- 1:27Speaker 2: was on. I forgot to do my new AKs.
- 1:29Speaker 3: I was like, oh, snap.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Man, GNS Luther. It's a lot going on in here
- 1:33Speaker 1: right now. But yes, we are here to talk Lanterns finale.
- 1:37Speaker 1: We are live on YouTube. If you're in the chat,
- 1:40Speaker 1: please let us know how you feel about it. We
- 1:43Speaker 1: want to talk about it. We are going to come
- 1:44Speaker 1: back tomorrow, of course, with the bid full review. We
- 1:47Speaker 1: got some bid special guests for that. It's been a
- 1:50Speaker 1: long series. Thank you to everyone, man, who's been supporting
- 1:54Speaker 1: us on YouTube. We dropped two interviews with Justin Britt
- 1:57Speaker 1: Gibson and with Vanessa. God damn it. blanking on names
- 2:05Speaker 1: right now, but you know what I'm saying. You know what?
- 2:07Speaker 3: You're going to edit that in. It's going to be great.
- 2:10Speaker 1: It's going to be great. Everybody's going to be like, oh, snap. Yeah.
- 2:12Speaker 1: They know exactly what I'm talking about. The chat's going
- 2:15Speaker 1: to help me out because we had the writers of
- 2:17Speaker 1: the show on, basically.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 2:19Speaker 1: It's been amazing. I saw that, man. That's great.
- 2:21Speaker 2: I love that they're being so vocal and they confirming stuff.
- 2:25Speaker 2: I feel like y'all was getting a little gaslit on
- 2:29Speaker 2: the social media about some of the theories and stuff
- 2:32Speaker 2: and some of the themes. But when the writer come on,
- 2:34Speaker 2: it'd be like, nah, it was set it off. You know,
- 2:37Speaker 2: it's like, OK, so we not reaching.
- 2:39Speaker 1: It really is. Justin, and now that the series is
- 2:43Speaker 1: over and, you know, if you're watching this right now,
- 2:45Speaker 1: obviously it's massive spoilers. But I'm going to say this.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Justin Britt Gibson has been emailing me. And at one
- 2:51Speaker 1: point he emailed me about two weeks ago because we
- 2:54Speaker 1: actually had to edit something out of his interview. Because
- 2:57Speaker 1: he hinted at something and he was like, yo, can
- 2:59Speaker 1: you please edit that out? Because I really don't want
- 3:01Speaker 1: to insinuate something either way. Right. And then in that
- 3:05Speaker 1: same email, he's like, you know, and off the record,
- 3:09Speaker 1: Hal Jordan is dead. And I was like, bro, you'd
- 3:12Speaker 1: have to tell me off the record or not. I
- 3:14Speaker 1: didn't need to know. Oh, my God. I didn't need
- 3:17Speaker 1: the confirmation. Because we discussed it on the episode in
- 3:21Speaker 1: a way, like I say, where he was hinting at it.
- 3:23Speaker 1: And so he, you know, he wanted to let me
- 3:25Speaker 1: know because I was like, I was the one when
- 3:27Speaker 1: he started, he started hinting at something else, basically. He
- 3:30Speaker 1: was talking about something wholly else, but I related it
- 3:32Speaker 1: to Hal Jordan. I was like, so that means, and
- 3:35Speaker 1: he was like, I can't say anything. And so then
- 3:38Speaker 1: in the email, he let me know, look, Hal is dead.
- 3:41Speaker 1: I don't know what the plans are for the future,
- 3:43Speaker 1: but as far as the end of season one, Hal's dead.
- 3:46Speaker 1: So for the last two weeks, I've been sitting on
- 3:48Speaker 1: that knowledge and really hoping that the brother was lying
- 3:51Speaker 1: to me.
- 3:52Speaker 3: Man, no, that hurts. I know that had to hurt.
- 3:56Speaker 1: For two weeks, Rod, since episode, what's it, eight? So since, yes,
- 4:02Speaker 1: eight and seven, since episode six aired, I've known that
- 4:04Speaker 1: Hal Jordan was like officially dead. Like I've known it
- 4:08Speaker 1: and I've sat on it and I've seen all the
- 4:11Speaker 1: theories in the world and Me and my man, shout
- 4:14Speaker 1: out to my brother Joe. We were going back and
- 4:15Speaker 1: forth this week about it. And I was just like,
- 4:18Speaker 1: you know, he had all these theories and I'm just
- 4:20Speaker 1: sitting there like, yeah, well that nigga dead, bro.
- 4:22Speaker 3: Ain't no, ain't no. I was definitely a truther.
- 4:26Speaker 2: I thought they was going to open this rib cage
- 4:29Speaker 2: up and find that crystal heart or whatever. Cause they
- 4:33Speaker 2: never really showed in the autopsy when they, you know,
- 4:35Speaker 2: go in there and get in the gut. So I
- 4:36Speaker 2: was like, well, why would they not show us that?
- 4:39Speaker 2: It must be a secret, man. They showed that man
- 4:42Speaker 2: get capped to the dome. I said, oh, Lord, he's gone.
- 4:47Speaker 3: No.
- 4:48Speaker 1: To the dome. And what it really was, it was
- 4:53Speaker 1: the fact that, you know, in the preview for this episode,
- 4:56Speaker 1: they were showing off all the shots of, you know,
- 4:59Speaker 1: the dude of Hal rising up from the ground. Had
- 5:02Speaker 1: Sinestro talking about you didn't need to die in vain. Mm-hmm.
- 5:07Speaker 1: And so I was sitting there hoping against hope. Me too, man.
- 5:10Speaker 1: It's crazy because.
- 5:13Speaker 2: Maybe it's because you know you from Texas I'm from
- 5:15Speaker 2: North Carolina maybe it's because I'm from the south the
- 5:20Speaker 2: amount of racism Hal had was not the deal breaker.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Not at all.
- 5:25Speaker 3: For the level of racism that I'm using.
- 5:29Speaker 1: It was light work.
- 5:30Speaker 3: I was like, yeah, he could be a football coach.
- 5:33Speaker 2: Like, if you told me he was the SEC football coach.
- 5:36Speaker 3: Like, you know what I mean? He know how to
- 5:37Speaker 3: do stanky leg and everything.
- 5:39Speaker 1: No, I would be like, no, he didn't qualify. His
- 5:41Speaker 1: racism was way too light. Yeah.
- 5:43Speaker 2: I was like, you know, he's not the kind of
- 5:47Speaker 2: person I would ever, if someone was like, is Hal
- 5:49Speaker 2: Jordan racist, I wouldn't be like, no. but he is
- 5:52Speaker 2: the kind of person where I would be surprised if
- 5:54Speaker 2: he was like yeah he uh you.
- 5:57Speaker 3: Know I think Hal might be in the clan I'd
- 5:58Speaker 3: be like.
- 5:58Speaker 1: Nah that ain't Hal nah ain't no way ain't no.
- 6:04Speaker 2: Way he might get a little tight lip when his
- 6:07Speaker 2: neighborhood get too many black people in it but he
- 6:09Speaker 2: won't he not the type to move.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Hal's like a little less racist than the guys who
- 6:14Speaker 1: owned Sal's pizza shop not even Sal's more racist what's
- 6:19Speaker 1: his name the son The son, yeah, exactly. Your favorite
- 6:23Speaker 1: ball player, Michael Jordan. Your favorite singer, Michael Jadson. Prince,
- 6:27Speaker 1: et cetera. But when too many black people move into Brooklyn,
- 6:31Speaker 1: then it's a problem.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Right, right.
- 6:33Speaker 2: I mean, honestly, he gave vibes this week. I know
- 6:36Speaker 2: that Kyle Chandler used to play a coach.
- 6:38Speaker 3: On Friday Night Lights.
- 6:40Speaker 2: But at the end, that moment he had with John
- 6:42Speaker 2: felt like when he used to coach them kids up
- 6:45Speaker 2: and had me in my feelings.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Man. That junior hit a lot different this time, boy.
- 6:51Speaker 1: That junior, you know, it's all about context. Because that
- 6:55Speaker 1: junior was terrible early this season. And that junior, I
- 7:00Speaker 1: love you too, junior was.
- 7:02Speaker 3: Shout out to acting, bro. Because it was several moments.
- 7:06Speaker 2: Like, it was several moments on this show that I
- 7:10Speaker 2: was like, oh, they brought the acting full circle.
- 7:12Speaker 3: And that was one of them. Because, like, you can
- 7:15Speaker 3: write that on paper all day.
- 7:17Speaker 2: But it's the performance that made that junior hit different.
- 7:19Speaker 3: Cause it was all them other juniors that made that
- 7:22Speaker 3: one good.
- 7:22Speaker 1: You know what I mean? That part. No, for real.
- 7:27Speaker 1: All right. Uh, we got to get into it. So,
- 7:30Speaker 1: I mean, just, you know, this is like I say,
- 7:32Speaker 1: this is our instant reactions. I'm reading some of the
- 7:34Speaker 1: chat right now, but Rod, just what did you think
- 7:37Speaker 1: of the season? And then let me read some of
- 7:39Speaker 1: this chat real quick while you just, you know, give
- 7:41Speaker 1: your thoughts on the season.
- 7:42Speaker 3: Um, for me, man, uh, I enjoyed the season.
- 7:46Speaker 2: Um, I didn't know what to expect coming in. It's
- 7:49Speaker 2: definitely not like any other comic book show that I've watched.
- 7:52Speaker 2: It kind of feels almost like how Andor was with
- 7:54Speaker 2: Star Wars for me, where it was like, we're not
- 7:57Speaker 2: going to get a bunch of space battles, and this
- 8:00Speaker 2: isn't going to be glamorous. It's really more True Detective
- 8:03Speaker 2: than it is DC superhero stuff.
- 8:08Speaker 3: But ultimately, man, the acting performances.
- 8:12Speaker 1: And the.
- 8:12Speaker 2: Mystery and keeping me guessing, it just made the series
- 8:16Speaker 2: worth it. And I actually really liked John's arc and
- 8:21Speaker 2: it not being a simple thing of him just getting
- 8:24Speaker 2: that green ring.
- 8:25Speaker 3: I thought they subverted the.
- 8:26Speaker 2: Whole paradigm and they really changed the way I looked at, like,
- 8:32Speaker 2: I look at John now as a hero. More so
- 8:35Speaker 2: than I would have looked at him if he became
- 8:37Speaker 2: a Green Lantern in the way that they wanted him
- 8:40Speaker 2: to be.
- 8:40Speaker 3: And I thought that was very smart.
- 8:42Speaker 4: Mm-hmm.
- 8:43Speaker 5: Available now at ForAllNerds.com. The Gucci Mandalorian.
- 8:48Speaker 1: The variants.
- 8:50Speaker 5: The Duncan A. The Lion-O-Ritchie. New designs coming soon.
- 8:55Speaker 1: No, I fully agree there that I see him as
- 8:57Speaker 1: a hero. And that was the thing. That's what I've
- 8:59Speaker 1: been telling a lot of people lately. And I know
- 9:02Speaker 1: Vanessa Bade and Kelly, that's the writer we had on
- 9:04Speaker 1: the show. Shout out to Vanessa. And I really can't
- 9:07Speaker 1: wait to email her now because we've been talking as well. Like,
- 9:11Speaker 1: at one point, she emailed me during the season. She
- 9:13Speaker 1: was like, do you love Hal now? And I was like,
- 9:14Speaker 1: I always love Hal, but y'all murdered this man. So, like,
- 9:19Speaker 1: stop emailing me about do I love him or not
- 9:21Speaker 1: when he did. And Justin, I told her the same thing.
- 9:23Speaker 1: I was like, Justin told me something, you know, and
- 9:26Speaker 1: I was hoping it's not true. Right. I didn't even
- 9:29Speaker 1: tell her what it was. I was like, I just
- 9:32Speaker 1: hope it's not true. And so now, you know, it's like, yeah,
- 9:36Speaker 1: I love Hal. Yeah, I love everything about this season.
- 9:39Speaker 1: But that was the thing. That's what people kept. You know,
- 9:41Speaker 1: they were in our comments. Oh, man, I didn't even
- 9:43Speaker 1: lost a listener over it where they were. They hated John.
- 9:48Speaker 1: You know, they hated John's choices. They hated the stewards choices.
- 9:51Speaker 1: They're like, why would you trust this white alien who
- 9:54Speaker 1: comes down here? You know, and I kept making a
- 9:56Speaker 1: point about how, well, if somebody comes down here and
- 9:58Speaker 1: tells me my son's going to be LeBron. I might
- 10:01Speaker 1: listen to him, you know, and they hand me a
- 10:02Speaker 1: big diamond and my family's falling apart. And you tell
- 10:06Speaker 1: me this is the way to save my family because
- 10:08Speaker 1: now I believe my husband, et cetera. I might have
- 10:11Speaker 1: to go with it. You know what I mean? And
- 10:14Speaker 1: like I say, my dad and mom, especially my dad
- 10:16Speaker 1: beat my ass for a lot less than being LeBron. So,
- 10:20Speaker 1: You know, they didn't drop me off in no hoods, but,
- 10:24Speaker 1: you know.
- 10:24Speaker 3: I mean, I didn't need to. He was raised in one.
- 10:27Speaker 1: Thank you. The harsh teaching was there, you know, either way.
- 10:31Speaker 1: It was not like, you know, I was bereft of
- 10:34Speaker 1: any type of, you know, hard lessons in life.
- 10:38Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:38Speaker 1: From a young age. So, you know, like, just like
- 10:42Speaker 1: with the racist hell, it's like the Stewart's parents were
- 10:44Speaker 1: never like, oh, they're evil. I'm just like, oh, they're black.
- 10:48Speaker 2: Yeah i thought and i thought like the show took
- 10:53Speaker 2: it all into account like it's hard for people um
- 10:56Speaker 2: to understand on the other side of the like screen
- 10:59Speaker 2: but it.
- 11:01Speaker 3: Smart writing isn't writing that.
- 11:03Speaker 2: Just makes choices you agree with that characters that just
- 11:06Speaker 2: do what you think they should do that's that's actually
- 11:09Speaker 2: super boring y'all think y'all want that but you will
- 11:12Speaker 2: honestly be disappointed because you already know everything that's gonna
- 11:15Speaker 2: happen So you need characters that can make that gray
- 11:18Speaker 2: area decision and have us going, why do you do that?
- 11:22Speaker 1: What does that mean?
- 11:23Speaker 2: And I thought this show achieved that. And all the
- 11:26Speaker 2: way from the parents down, man, what kind of parents
- 11:29Speaker 2: would raise a person that thinks they don't have fear
- 11:34Speaker 2: that could be a Green Lantern? And what kind of
- 11:37Speaker 2: black parents would do that? I love how it was
- 11:40Speaker 2: so easy for the white guys, because what do white
- 11:43Speaker 2: people really have to fear? When you look around, who's
- 11:46Speaker 2: jumping off of these planes and skydiving? Who's fucking with
- 11:52Speaker 2: bungee cords?
- 11:53Speaker 1: That's not us.
- 11:54Speaker 2: So what would it look like for a black kid
- 11:56Speaker 2: to be raised without fear?
- 11:57Speaker 3: And it's like, oh, all this trauma.
- 11:59Speaker 2: And at the end, especially if you don't get it
- 12:02Speaker 2: this time, I feel like you just didn't want to.
- 12:04Speaker 3: He's light.
- 12:05Speaker 2: This is about the trauma my parents put me through.
- 12:07Speaker 2: This is about literally the fear. Then he realized, oh wait,
- 12:12Speaker 2: my mom probably was absorbing all that fear. So that
- 12:15Speaker 2: for me, like that shit was done in the hug.
- 12:17Speaker 2: When she breathed at the end, she let that breath out. Like,
- 12:20Speaker 2: I don't know, man, unless you stupid. I just feel
- 12:22Speaker 2: like those things was right there and they confirmed them
- 12:26Speaker 2: in the end. And that you don't have to like it,
- 12:29Speaker 2: but that should, you can't say they didn't answer those questions.
- 12:33Speaker 2: Or they wanted you to see his parents as like
- 12:35Speaker 2: super villains and shit. Especially when at the end, he
- 12:38Speaker 2: wasn't even really talking to his parents. So like, you
- 12:41Speaker 2: got that moment. If you were like, man, what they
- 12:43Speaker 2: doing to him is messed up. You got that from
- 12:45Speaker 2: the show, right? He's like, I'm putting my mama first
- 12:48Speaker 2: name on the phone. You know, that means something if
- 12:50Speaker 2: you black. Nobody does that unless it's real bad.
- 12:53Speaker 1: Real bad. And just on that point real quick, and
- 12:58Speaker 1: then I want to get to some of these comments,
- 13:00Speaker 1: but just on that point, it was like, One, Tom
- 13:05Speaker 1: King said it at the end of the show, John
- 13:06Speaker 1: went from being, if he becomes part of the Corps,
- 13:08Speaker 1: he's a cop. And that was the big complaint that
- 13:11Speaker 1: people kept saying that he wanted to be a cop,
- 13:13Speaker 1: that all this was to be a cop. And I
- 13:15Speaker 1: kept saying, this is a journey. This is like you said, Rod,
- 13:17Speaker 1: characters on this journey are going to do things that
- 13:19Speaker 1: you don't agree with. But this is an origin story
- 13:22Speaker 1: for John who we see later. And this is what
- 13:25Speaker 1: it takes to get him there. And then that line
- 13:28Speaker 1: about his mom, when he was saying, my mom held
- 13:32Speaker 1: her breath My brother, my Negro, my everything. That, like,
- 13:40Speaker 1: I can't, you know, my mom has passed. But let
- 13:42Speaker 1: me tell you how it used to bug me out
- 13:45Speaker 1: when I would be home from, you know, like college
- 13:48Speaker 1: or wherever. It didn't matter where in the world I
- 13:50Speaker 1: was at. When I came home, if I went outside,
- 13:54Speaker 1: my mom would be sitting in this chair that's in
- 13:56Speaker 1: our living room. Like, as soon as you walk in
- 13:57Speaker 1: the front door, It's right to the right. There's a
- 14:00Speaker 1: chair right there. And she would be sitting in it
- 14:02Speaker 1: waiting for me to come on. My mom would go
- 14:04Speaker 1: to bed normally, but if I was in town in
- 14:06Speaker 1: her area, she was straight up always. And so that
- 14:12Speaker 1: just hit me because that's just my mom. So on
- 14:15Speaker 1: the level of a mother who's expecting her son to
- 14:17Speaker 1: be Green Lantern and all that, it's man. I think also, I.
- 14:22Speaker 3: Love that he had that realization talking to Carrie.
- 14:25Speaker 1: He basically was like, you kill.
- 14:27Speaker 2: Somebody for your son because you were scared. Like, you
- 14:32Speaker 2: were scared for him, and the terror drove you to
- 14:35Speaker 2: something horrendous, murder.
- 14:37Speaker 1: And he was like, damn.
- 14:40Speaker 3: I was sitting up here thinking, my mom. And, like,
- 14:43Speaker 3: you knew.
- 14:44Speaker 2: Your son don't even know you know. And you did
- 14:47Speaker 2: that to protect him. And I know he had to think, like,
- 14:51Speaker 2: all that shit my mama did, dog.
- 14:53Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 14:55Speaker 2: Like I like moms do horrible things sometimes in the
- 15:01Speaker 2: service of their kids and it meant something that he
- 15:04Speaker 2: got that realization there and yeah I didn't even see
- 15:08Speaker 2: it coming man like I wondered how they would narratively
- 15:11Speaker 2: wrap up that you know the relationship with his mom
- 15:15Speaker 2: I definitely did not have them hugging it out at
- 15:18Speaker 2: the end in my mind and they did it in
- 15:20Speaker 2: a way that made me.
- 15:21Speaker 3: Go damn that was real So real.
- 15:24Speaker 1: So real. All right, real quick, I do want to
- 15:27Speaker 1: address some of these comments because Jameson Childers dropped a
- 15:30Speaker 1: 20-bomb and said, I mean this as a compliment. It
- 15:33Speaker 1: feels like the writers saw the first Inside Out film.
- 15:36Speaker 1: John embracing the willpower and fear among elements remind me
- 15:39Speaker 1: of Riley's emotions, learning to mix and balance each other.
- 15:42Speaker 1: Let me tell y'all, Inside Out is one of the
- 15:44Speaker 1: greatest films ever made. It's one of my favorite scripts.
- 15:47Speaker 1: If you haven't, if you can, Google Inside Out script
- 15:50Speaker 1: and read it as well as watch it. Fucking incredible script. Incredible.
- 15:54Speaker 3: Yeah. All right.
- 15:55Speaker 1: Rev Nunn, Wimpson dropped five and they said, Rod, your
- 15:57Speaker 1: analyst is right, but you overestimate the media literacy of
- 16:00Speaker 1: the average viewer. This show was excellent. Much love to
- 16:04Speaker 1: this channel. Much love to you. Thank you for that
- 16:06Speaker 1: love right there. Thank you. I also want to address
- 16:08Speaker 1: somebody else. They left a comment earlier, RC something. They
- 16:11Speaker 1: said that a few weeks ago, they said, obviously, Ben,
- 16:14Speaker 1: Noah is the Manhunter and I barked on them or whatever.
- 16:18Speaker 1: It was probably you're used to the word obviously. I'm
- 16:20Speaker 1: going to let you know. Because whenever you do something
- 16:23Speaker 1: like that to me, it's like, yeah, bro, as a writer, yeah,
- 16:26Speaker 1: you can guess that Noah is probably. But obviously is
- 16:30Speaker 1: where you're taking it too far with me. Yeah. You
- 16:32Speaker 1: know what I mean?
- 16:33Speaker 2: I think also, like, in type, it's two different things
- 16:37Speaker 2: about it. Like, the first is when something's in type,
- 16:41Speaker 2: the way that you respond to it. Like, I'm adding
- 16:44Speaker 2: context and I'm adding, like, you might have meant it, like,
- 16:47Speaker 2: in a funny way, like, obviously. And I would have
- 16:50Speaker 2: been like, ah, ha, ha, you crazy, bro. But, like,
- 16:53Speaker 2: I'm going to read it, like, obviously, like, hey, dumbass.
- 16:57Speaker 3: You should know that. It's like, hey, bro, calm down
- 16:59Speaker 3: a little bit.
- 16:59Speaker 1: Not too much.
- 17:00Speaker 2: You're supposed to like my show. But, yeah, we do
- 17:02Speaker 2: that to ourselves, which is funny. But, yeah, the second
- 17:06Speaker 2: thing is, like... I don't think it was obvious.
- 17:10Speaker 1: No, it's not.
- 17:12Speaker 3: If it was obvious, I feel like we wouldn't have
- 17:14Speaker 3: finished the show.
- 17:15Speaker 2: It's almost like, oh man, the last episode sucked. I
- 17:19Speaker 2: saw everything coming. I thought that was a possibility. I
- 17:25Speaker 2: just didn't feel like it was the only possibility. And yeah, man,
- 17:29Speaker 2: what a possibility it was. And also like, Obviously, it's
- 17:33Speaker 2: kind of wild because they said the way that the dude,
- 17:37Speaker 2: they said the way that he was conceived was when.
- 17:39Speaker 3: She got her finger fixed.
- 17:41Speaker 1: Yes.
- 17:42Speaker 3: So, like, I don't know that that's obvious. You know
- 17:44Speaker 3: what I mean?
- 17:45Speaker 1: Yeah. I mean, I didn't think that. I knew that,
- 17:47Speaker 1: I figured that Zoe had some way of impregnating her.
- 17:50Speaker 1: You know, I did not figure that Noah was a
- 17:52Speaker 1: real boy or any of that type of shit.
- 17:55Speaker 3: Yeah, but obviously it's.
- 17:57Speaker 2: Doing a lot, though, because like I'm just saying it
- 18:01Speaker 2: was a fantastical leap of science that she had this baby.
- 18:08Speaker 3: It wasn't like obvious.
- 18:11Speaker 1: All right. Shout out to everybody. We got a bunch
- 18:15Speaker 1: of people in the chat. But of course, Janicia, lock
- 18:18Speaker 1: it down. You know, Joseph, all the fam. It's a
- 18:22Speaker 1: lot of people out there right now. So yeah, if
- 18:24Speaker 1: you have any more questions, please, you know, let us
- 18:27Speaker 1: know something else because I saw this earlier. I know
- 18:30Speaker 1: Zoe or Zoe, they brought it up and I, I
- 18:33Speaker 1: immediately thought they said the same thing, but I immediately
- 18:36Speaker 1: went to threads. I mean, the minute the show was over,
- 18:39Speaker 1: I went to threads and posted this. I said, before any,
- 18:42Speaker 1: you comic book fans jump in, John is far, from
- 18:46Speaker 1: the first lantern to change the oath. Colors, yeah. The oath, colors, anything.
- 18:52Speaker 1: John is far from the first lantern to ever do that.
- 18:56Speaker 1: In fact, we talked about it earlier on the show
- 18:58Speaker 1: this season. There's a lantern who comes from a set
- 19:01Speaker 1: there of space that does not have light. So the
- 19:03Speaker 1: idea of him black as night means nothing to them.
- 19:07Speaker 1: And so their whole oath is all about sound and
- 19:09Speaker 1: vibration and things of that nature. Oh, okay. That's dope.
- 19:13Speaker 1: Very dope. And so- And what I love, because I'm
- 19:16Speaker 1: sitting there as soon as Hal's like, well, Chainsaw, I'm like,
- 19:18Speaker 1: this man is about to change that word blackest. I
- 19:21Speaker 1: knew it immediately. Immediately, bruh. Immediately. I was like, ain't
- 19:26Speaker 1: no way they ain't going to have John stay in
- 19:28Speaker 1: blackest night with a straight face. Like, ain't no goddamn way.
- 19:33Speaker 3: That was the first thing to go.
- 19:35Speaker 1: John was like, ain't no way, nigga. Oh, man. Yeah,
- 19:43Speaker 1: so I immediately wanted to address that because I knew
- 19:46Speaker 1: that the comic book fans were gonna be coming with
- 19:48Speaker 1: that nonsense I saw somebody else say that nothing happened
- 19:53Speaker 1: this episode but that's the same type of people who've
- 19:55Speaker 1: been dissing this season.
- 19:57Speaker 2: All along because like honestly like mind honestly like it
- 20:02Speaker 2: made me think about something that's become like a trope
- 20:04Speaker 2: and a complaint with Marvel shows which is that They
- 20:08Speaker 2: can't end a show without some super big boss battle
- 20:11Speaker 2: type thing. And people were starting to be like, oh,
- 20:14Speaker 2: it's making it predictable. Like episode seven and eight is
- 20:17Speaker 2: just going to be, you know, all the special effects,
- 20:20Speaker 2: all the CGI, all the big monsters and all that stuff.
- 20:23Speaker 2: I still remember that Secret Invasion finale. It was like, oh,
- 20:28Speaker 2: it felt like such a trope. And this subverted the trope, man.
- 20:32Speaker 2: And honestly, to me, they stuck the landing because there
- 20:35Speaker 2: was always a true detective tone to this show. It
- 20:38Speaker 2: wouldn't have been right if we cut to him. He
- 20:40Speaker 2: had a green suit on. He was flying around making...
- 20:43Speaker 2: You know what I'm saying? It would have felt like, man,
- 20:46Speaker 2: y'all really changed the whole tone just so y'all could
- 20:50Speaker 2: fit this into the... It would have, to me, felt
- 20:52Speaker 2: like James Gunn was interfering. Like, hey, man, I appreciate
- 20:55Speaker 2: what y'all did, but I'm going to need y'all to
- 20:57Speaker 2: go ahead and make them fight like a monster or something.
- 21:00Speaker 3: I appreciate that it ended exactly like that.
- 21:02Speaker 2: And I look forward to seeing, like, honestly, I look
- 21:05Speaker 2: forward to seeing John later in like, like what is
- 21:08Speaker 2: he going to look like? Save that for the big screen.
- 21:11Speaker 2: Cause like Aaron Pierre is a star and I don't.
- 21:14Speaker 1: Want y'all to like, I love that he did this.
- 21:16Speaker 2: HBO is, you know, great, great premium television, but you know,
- 21:21Speaker 2: you gotta be careful shooting your bullets on TV and
- 21:24Speaker 2: trying to be a movie star. Cause a lot of
- 21:26Speaker 2: times people like, if you, do too much on TV.
- 21:29Speaker 2: It's like, you can't get to be a star on
- 21:31Speaker 2: this big screen. So hopefully like them saving the suit
- 21:35Speaker 2: and all that for like a movie or something would
- 21:37Speaker 2: be kind of dope to see him show up. Like, okay, he,
- 21:40Speaker 2: our boy made it. He's graduated. He's fully a hero
- 21:44Speaker 2: in this universe now.
- 21:45Speaker 1: And that's, that's what it is. It's like, it's even
- 21:48Speaker 1: better because one, like you said, it would have just
- 21:51Speaker 1: completely changed the tone. And I thought that was going
- 21:53Speaker 1: to happen. I swore.
- 21:54Speaker 2: I was, I was worried for a second. I was like,
- 21:57Speaker 2: I thought I was like, Maybe I want to see
- 21:59Speaker 2: him then. But the way they ended, I was like, no, no, no,
- 22:02Speaker 2: don't do it.
- 22:02Speaker 3: Don't do it.
- 22:03Speaker 1: Yeah, perfection. And even when he, you know, he's about
- 22:06Speaker 1: to fly, I'm like, finally, he's going to fly. I
- 22:07Speaker 1: knew that was coming. And I thought, okay, maybe when
- 22:10Speaker 1: he floated up, he's going to put the suit on
- 22:12Speaker 1: and then fly off. But then when he didn't, I
- 22:15Speaker 1: was like, oh, no suit. But then just like you said,
- 22:17Speaker 1: it's even doper because it gives something people to wait for.
- 22:20Speaker 1: It gives them that, okay, now... Man of Tomorrow comes out.
- 22:24Speaker 1: John's done up here in a suit. You know, we're
- 22:26Speaker 1: going to wait for it. There's going to be all
- 22:27Speaker 1: the hype around it. People, you know, just itching for details.
- 22:30Speaker 1: They're going to have some yellow in it. All that
- 22:32Speaker 1: type of thing. And we'll wait and see.
- 22:35Speaker 2: Also, I didn't want to, like, honestly, I didn't want,
- 22:39Speaker 2: it would have felt out of character for him to
- 22:41Speaker 2: go put on the suit.
- 22:42Speaker 3: Like that's not who he is, man.
- 22:45Speaker 2: He's a man of like some bear, like whatever it
- 22:47Speaker 2: takes to get the job done, but he's not a
- 22:49Speaker 2: man of flexing.
- 22:50Speaker 3: Yeah. He's not like, Oh, they wait till they see
- 22:52Speaker 3: me in. Let me fly to the crib and in
- 22:55Speaker 3: the suit.
- 22:55Speaker 2: Like, like when he came in with the ring, they
- 22:57Speaker 2: was impressed, but they wasn't, it wasn't like, that's all
- 23:00Speaker 2: it takes.
- 23:01Speaker 3: And even he didn't act like, ah, you see my ring,
- 23:04Speaker 3: you know, like that's not him. That's not him.
- 23:07Speaker 1: And that's the thing because it, It also goes back
- 23:10Speaker 1: to what we've been saying. The Green Lantern Corps are police.
- 23:13Speaker 1: And so he's rejecting that. He's like, nah, I'm not
- 23:15Speaker 1: a police. I'm a superhero. So I can't wear the
- 23:19Speaker 1: uniform of a cop. I can't wear that uniform. I
- 23:22Speaker 1: have to come up with my own thing. Just like
- 23:24Speaker 1: God has his own variation on it.
- 23:26Speaker 2: And the way he talked to God, bro. Like he
- 23:28Speaker 2: was talking nasty to that man.
- 23:30Speaker 1: The comments are talking about it. We got to talk
- 23:32Speaker 1: about it.
- 23:34Speaker 2: That man had no charge in his ring and told
- 23:37Speaker 2: that dude with a straight face, Come take it from me.
- 23:41Speaker 2: And God said, you know what, bro? I got somewhere
- 23:44Speaker 2: to be, man. You know what I'm saying?
- 23:48Speaker 1: You want some of this old man?
- 23:50Speaker 3: No.
- 23:51Speaker 2: No. Let me get out of here, man. And he
- 23:54Speaker 2: still don't go do what he told him to. Go
- 23:56Speaker 2: tell the people on Ola the exact message he relayed.
- 23:59Speaker 1: The exact message. He going to relay that shit word
- 24:02Speaker 1: for word. He going to say it mad as hell.
- 24:05Speaker 3: That's crazy. They really did like power levels, but no
- 24:10Speaker 3: fighting and no power.
- 24:12Speaker 1: The funniest shit is in Man of Tomorrow, Guy ain't
- 24:15Speaker 1: going to have a go-to. Right. I put money on it.
- 24:18Speaker 1: I put money on that, dude.
- 24:20Speaker 2: And if he do, John gonna say something.
- 24:23Speaker 3: If he have that go-to, John would be like, what
- 24:26Speaker 3: I tell you about that go-to?
- 24:27Speaker 1: He ain't even gonna have a go-to. It's just gonna
- 24:29Speaker 1: be unsaid. It's just gonna be that strong. He might
- 24:32Speaker 1: have a new haircut, everything. Next time we see Guy Gardner.
- 24:35Speaker 3: He can't have a new haircut, man. He can't have
- 24:37Speaker 3: a new haircut. That's the Guy Gardner classic.
- 24:39Speaker 1: He got eventually got rid... I mean, look, I'm a
- 24:41Speaker 1: Guy fanatic, but eventually I thought he did get rid
- 24:43Speaker 1: of the bowl cut.
- 24:44Speaker 3: That douchebag haircut is my shit, bro.
- 24:46Speaker 1: Yeah, I love Guy. I wish they'd even give him
- 24:49Speaker 1: the more comic accurate where he got like the... He
- 24:52Speaker 1: has a vest and these big ass boots.
- 24:54Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 24:55Speaker 1: I love guys. So ridiculous. Yeah, guy's always been one
- 24:59Speaker 1: of my favorites.
- 24:59Speaker 2: And Nathan Fillion doing a good job of being that guy, bro.
- 25:02Speaker 3: He's incredible. He's so annoying, but so fun.
- 25:06Speaker 1: And so right. You know, he's like, he's a good
- 25:09Speaker 1: person underneath all that. And Nate gets that perfectly. Like,
- 25:13Speaker 1: even though he hates it, he gonna go say what
- 25:15Speaker 1: he said. And I think even though he was mad
- 25:19Speaker 1: about it, he even knew that what Jon was doing. Like,
- 25:22Speaker 1: he knew that Jon was gonna dig that dude up.
- 25:24Speaker 3: And he wasn't going to do shit about it anyway.
- 25:26Speaker 4: No.
- 25:27Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying?
- 25:27Speaker 2: Because if he really wanted that smoke, man, we saw
- 25:30Speaker 2: him step to Superman. So if he really wanted that smoke,
- 25:34Speaker 2: he would have stepped to John.
- 25:35Speaker 3: He didn't want that, man.
- 25:37Speaker 1: I love it.
- 25:37Speaker 2: But yeah, I love God. And I love that my
- 25:41Speaker 2: man John not afraid of God. He was like, listen, man,
- 25:44Speaker 2: everything you got is because I gave up this ring.
- 25:47Speaker 1: So what we going to.
- 25:48Speaker 3: Do is you going to... He said, I'm not your
- 25:50Speaker 3: errand boy. No, but you there's. I said, oh my God,
- 25:53Speaker 3: he is talking nasty to the cops.
- 25:57Speaker 2: Talking real mean to the cops, bro.
- 26:00Speaker 1: And told him, go tell your chief what I said.
- 26:03Speaker 3: You know what I said, yeah. Run tell that, exactly
- 26:06Speaker 3: what I said.
- 26:07Speaker 1: Run back to the station and let them other bitches
- 26:10Speaker 1: know what I said.
- 26:11Speaker 3: I got the ring. It was like, they're going to
- 26:14Speaker 3: clean everybody they can to put you down.
- 26:16Speaker 1: Okay. All the other fat ass pigs back at the station.
- 26:20Speaker 1: Y'all go oinking together and go tell them what I said.
- 26:23Speaker 3: Smell bacon.
- 26:24Speaker 1: What?
- 26:26Speaker 3: Oh shit.
- 26:27Speaker 1: Run.
- 26:28Speaker 3: Nah, that was, that was dope, man.
- 26:30Speaker 2: I'm so excited to see, uh, see him in a
- 26:33Speaker 2: movie where they really got the CGI budget.
- 26:35Speaker 3: Cause I know his shit finna be pop off screen, bro.
- 26:38Speaker 1: Man. Uh, real quick, Jameson children's dropped another 20. And
- 26:41Speaker 1: they said another thought, the show took the Oh six
- 26:44Speaker 1: casino Royale approach. Let's show who John Stewart is before
- 26:48Speaker 1: he becomes Green Lantern.
- 26:49Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Same way. Casino Ryle showed us the origin of James
- 26:52Speaker 1: Bond as it becomes 007. You know, I've never seen
- 26:55Speaker 1: casino Royale. Really?
- 26:58Speaker 3: Oh, that's my one.
- 26:59Speaker 1: I think I've watched part of it, but I read
- 27:01Speaker 1: the script before I saw it. And so when they
- 27:03Speaker 1: got to that man, you know, getting beat, you know,
- 27:06Speaker 1: in the, you know, in the nether regions.
- 27:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 27:10Speaker 1: I was like, I'm not watching.
- 27:12Speaker 3: That was some wild torture, dude.
- 27:14Speaker 1: I read the script and I'm like, I'm not watching.
- 27:16Speaker 2: They really, like, when they said they was doing a
- 27:17Speaker 2: grittier James Bond, like.
- 27:19Speaker 3: That was the scene they definitely wrote first.
- 27:21Speaker 4: Yo, what's up, fam fam? It is I, Tatiana King.
- 27:24Speaker 4: And I want y'all to know that I need you
- 27:27Speaker 4: to do me a favor. Please share this show. You're
- 27:29Speaker 4: listening to us. You're watching us. But you're gatekeeping. And
- 27:33Speaker 4: I don't understand why you're doing that. I really need
- 27:36Speaker 4: you to share with your friends.
- 27:38Speaker 3: Share with your mama.
- 27:39Speaker 1: Share with your cousin.
- 27:39Speaker 3: Share with everybody.
- 27:40Speaker 4: Because if you're like me, you love to share the joy.
- 27:43Speaker 4: And it's really important that you do that. So please
- 27:46Speaker 4: tell people about For All Nerds.
- 27:48Speaker 1: I love you.
- 27:49Speaker 3: And they was like, all right, we're going to write
- 27:51Speaker 3: a whole movie around this shit. Because I was like,
- 27:53Speaker 3: how did you get here, dude?
- 27:55Speaker 1: There's no way. I can't remember if that's in the book.
- 27:58Speaker 1: I think that's in the book, because I've read the
- 27:59Speaker 1: Casino Royale book as well. Yeah, and I want to
- 28:02Speaker 1: say that's all.
- 28:03Speaker 2: They must have been like, we're going to take it there.
- 28:05Speaker 2: I mean, I love that movie, though.
- 28:07Speaker 3: That's one of my favorite movies. But, oh my God, bro.
- 28:11Speaker 1: You're right.
- 28:11Speaker 3: That was disgusting. What kind of man thinks like that?
- 28:16Speaker 3: You know what I'm saying?
- 28:17Speaker 1: Well, I mean, you know. As soon as you.
- 28:19Speaker 2: Like, all right, man, go get the bottomless chair. Like, yo,
- 28:22Speaker 2: henchmen don't look at you like, hey, bro, hold up.
- 28:25Speaker 1: It's just like when Macon was like, go get my charcoal.
- 28:29Speaker 2: Hey, man, you don't want to just like pull his
- 28:31Speaker 2: fingernails off or something?
- 28:33Speaker 3: Nah, bro, go get the bottomless chair. Give me a
- 28:35Speaker 3: sack of nickels. I'm finna go to work.
- 28:38Speaker 1: Nah, go get the charcoal. I'm going to show him
- 28:40Speaker 1: my dick.
- 28:40Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 28:41Speaker 1: Well, watch this. Watch this.
- 28:43Speaker 2: That's the outtake we need is we need Makin' setting
- 28:46Speaker 2: up the scene before John and them get in there.
- 28:51Speaker 2: We need like a five minute sketch of him being like,
- 28:53Speaker 2: all right, everybody be quiet, man. Hey, somebody put my
- 28:56Speaker 2: clothes up, bro.
- 28:57Speaker 1: Hold on. Turn the lights down. All the different type
- 28:59Speaker 1: of art. We don't know what he works in. You know, charcoals.
- 29:02Speaker 1: We got finger paints. We got watercolors. We got everything.
- 29:06Speaker 1: Give me a canvas. Yes.
- 29:11Speaker 3: Hey, light some incense. Light some incense, bro. Turn the
- 29:14Speaker 3: heat up.
- 29:15Speaker 1: And y'all can't start laughing. You know what I mean?
- 29:19Speaker 2: No matter what he say, bro, no matter what I say,
- 29:21Speaker 2: don't act crazy again. Don't nobody start laughing because I'm
- 29:24Speaker 2: going to start laughing.
- 29:28Speaker 1: I got to keep a straight face when I show up.
- 29:31Speaker 2: He probably had to make sure he had on sweatpants first.
- 29:35Speaker 2: so he was like I gotta be you know I
- 29:37Speaker 2: can't be cold in here you know.
- 29:40Speaker 3: Like I gotta flex on this man.
- 29:44Speaker 2: Alright he coming hurry up yeah bro that shit that
- 29:49Speaker 2: was such a true detective ass that's definitely some TV
- 29:53Speaker 2: shit cause they was like we wanna do this scene
- 29:55Speaker 2: but we wanna relay this exposition but we need to
- 29:59Speaker 2: do it in a way that's visually interesting.
- 30:01Speaker 1: I need to be in the room.
- 30:03Speaker 3: For the punch up when somebody was like, I got it, yo.
- 30:06Speaker 3: I got it. Check this out.
- 30:10Speaker 1: That would have been me. Because in the room, I'm
- 30:13Speaker 1: definitely guaranteed to come with the wildest ideas.
- 30:16Speaker 2: That's the pitch that gets rejected for me.
- 30:19Speaker 1: That's the one where I'm like, what if he was naked? Man,
- 30:22Speaker 1: shut up, man.
- 30:24Speaker 3: Real ideas, man.
- 30:25Speaker 1: That one don't count. I need real ideas. when we
- 30:31Speaker 1: said blue sky we did not mean blue sky fam
- 30:35Speaker 1: you're gone too far all right um wow man any
- 30:41Speaker 1: other thoughts on this episode because yeah it's you know
- 30:44Speaker 1: i yeah we could be here all.
- 30:46Speaker 2: Night yeah man i think the main things i i
- 30:50Speaker 2: i do still wonder like i don't feel like we're
- 30:53Speaker 2: done with sinestro And I.
- 30:55Speaker 1: Do wonder if we get to, right.
- 30:57Speaker 2: And even with Hal being quote unquote dead, I don't
- 31:02Speaker 2: think they had Sinestro say, I could bring you back
- 31:05Speaker 2: to life.
- 31:06Speaker 1: Yes.
- 31:07Speaker 3: For it to not mean anything.
- 31:09Speaker 1: Yes.
- 31:10Speaker 2: So season two, I'm looking forward to that. I hope they,
- 31:14Speaker 2: you know, definitely get a season two. And I was
- 31:16Speaker 2: wondering like where they would possibly take a season two.
- 31:19Speaker 2: some sort of like resurrection of hal jordan situation some
- 31:23Speaker 2: sinestro uh some john back in the spotlight i would
- 31:27Speaker 2: love to see that i've heard ideas about um uh
- 31:31Speaker 2: doing a not an ensemble but uh the thing um
- 31:34Speaker 2: the thing where you have a different cast each year
- 31:36Speaker 2: i forget what it's called yeah but i heard the
- 31:39Speaker 2: idea of like maybe they'll even follow two different landers
- 31:41Speaker 2: afterwards I'd be interested to see that, too. Like, if
- 31:46Speaker 2: John graduates to the DCUT, like, movies, and that's where
- 31:50Speaker 2: Aaron Pierre gonna be from now, but they find two
- 31:53Speaker 2: more Green Lanterns and do another True Detective Green Lantern thing,
- 31:57Speaker 2: it could be interesting.
- 31:58Speaker 3: So, I don't know.
- 31:59Speaker 2: I'm looking forward to just wherever they take it, because
- 32:01Speaker 2: I was totally satisfied with this, and I don't know
- 32:04Speaker 2: where they're going next. And that's, to me, the best
- 32:07Speaker 2: feeling coming off a season like this is I actually
- 32:09Speaker 2: don't know the next step.
- 32:11Speaker 1: Yeah. I... We'd like to see more Aaron Pierre on
- 32:14Speaker 1: the small screen. I can't lie.
- 32:16Speaker 4: I'm like.
- 32:16Speaker 3: I mean, he's great.
- 32:17Speaker 1: Yeah, and just like Vanessa and Justin and a lot
- 32:20Speaker 1: of people we've been talking about and why I have
- 32:23Speaker 1: such trepidation about the new X-Men film is because I've
- 32:27Speaker 1: become such a fan, especially when you see series like
- 32:30Speaker 1: this where you get to explore a character, where you
- 32:33Speaker 1: get to explore them, you know, in a way that
- 32:35Speaker 1: you just cannot do on a television show. So that
- 32:38Speaker 1: being said, yeah, I... I wouldn't mind an anthology approach, right? Yeah,
- 32:43Speaker 1: that's it. Anthology. Where it's like a whole different cast
- 32:45Speaker 1: every season, like American Horror Story, a whole different story.
- 32:50Speaker 1: What I would even like is not to do True
- 32:52Speaker 1: Detective next season, where it's another theme. You know, like
- 32:57Speaker 1: perhaps we get a little more budget and we do
- 32:58Speaker 1: a little more space.
- 33:00Speaker 3: Hey, I'm with that.
- 33:01Speaker 1: Yeah, or just whatever, you know, but just not like,
- 33:04Speaker 1: I definitely don't want to see him in a small
- 33:05Speaker 1: town again. I don't want to see... you know, them
- 33:08Speaker 1: solving a murder mystery, or, like, I felt like that
- 33:11Speaker 1: was the problem with True to Death of Season 2,
- 33:13Speaker 1: was they were trying to replicate, you know, the success
- 33:16Speaker 1: of Season 1, and they really didn't have, and I
- 33:18Speaker 1: know this is kind of the same thing for Lanterns,
- 33:21Speaker 1: I know they have ideas, but they were really planning
- 33:25Speaker 1: to make this one season, then see what happens. Oh, okay. Yeah,
- 33:28Speaker 1: and the one season was aimed at getting John into
- 33:31Speaker 1: a space where at the end of it, he's ready
- 33:34Speaker 1: for Man of Tomorrow. You know, that was the, that
- 33:37Speaker 1: was like, That's what Vanessa and them said. That was
- 33:39Speaker 1: like the main thing that went in concerned, you know,
- 33:42Speaker 1: the overall DCU. They had to have him in a
- 33:44Speaker 1: space where he fits into Man of Tomorrow. So that
- 33:49Speaker 1: was accomplished. And then beyond that, they could tell whatever
- 33:51Speaker 1: story they wanted. Now, I know that Chris Mundy and
- 33:55Speaker 1: all of them, they've said, you know, we do have
- 33:57Speaker 1: ideas for season two. Yeah. But it was not planned
- 34:00Speaker 1: that way. And that's why I kept telling people.
- 34:02Speaker 2: Okay.
- 34:03Speaker 1: Like, when people had all these other ideas, I was like, nah,
- 34:06Speaker 1: I don't know about that because a lot of this
- 34:08Speaker 1: stuff is going to get wrapped up in eight.
- 34:10Speaker 2: I would be fine with them if this was it. Like,
- 34:14Speaker 2: because I just thought it was a good story. If
- 34:17Speaker 2: they do a season two, like I said, I'm cool
- 34:21Speaker 2: with wherever they take it. And that's just because off
- 34:24Speaker 2: of the strength of I felt this season was so strong.
- 34:27Speaker 3: If you bring these people.
- 34:28Speaker 2: Back, then I'm like, yeah, tell the story. If you
- 34:32Speaker 2: pull up with two different Landers, I would fuck with
- 34:33Speaker 2: that too. If you pull up with Aaron Pierre Part 2,
- 34:37Speaker 2: I'm fucking with that too. There's really nothing they could
- 34:40Speaker 2: do short of casting like Mark Wahlberg that would make
- 34:43Speaker 2: me be like, I'm not going to watch season two.
- 34:45Speaker 1: Jesus.
- 34:49Speaker 2: I'm trying to think of what they could do. It's
- 34:51Speaker 2: not much they could do that would make me be.
- 34:53Speaker 3: Like, yeah, I'm out.
- 34:56Speaker 1: It's not much.
- 35:01Speaker 2: It may be like Tyler Perry presents Green Lanterns 2
- 35:05Speaker 2: I'll be like alright y'all push that one I can't
- 35:07Speaker 2: do that.
- 35:13Speaker 1: Madea has a lantern and shit oh my god Madea
- 35:17Speaker 1: is mogo.
- 35:22Speaker 3: I'm about to pull up a ring up in her over.
- 35:24Speaker 2: Her like nah nah we good we good It's over.
- 35:30Speaker 1: It's over. Y'all won it wonders.
- 35:34Speaker 3: Y'all had a good run.
- 35:38Speaker 1: Peace. Man, man. Remember Lanterns? What a show. Yeah, that
- 35:42Speaker 1: was cool.
- 35:42Speaker 3: What about season two, man? I don't remember season two.
- 35:45Speaker 3: I don't think they did that.
- 35:46Speaker 1: It's like Heroes.
- 35:50Speaker 3: Great season one.
- 35:51Speaker 1: Only season. That's the only season I ever know. I
- 35:55Speaker 1: didn't know there was more than one season of Heroes.
- 35:57Speaker 1: Don't talk to me about it.
- 35:58Speaker 2: I learned a lot from heroes. That was when I
- 36:00Speaker 2: finally learned, like, what the difference in.
- 36:02Speaker 1: The budget was.
- 36:03Speaker 2: Remember when they got to the end with Siler, they
- 36:06Speaker 2: closed the door for that fight?
- 36:07Speaker 3: I said, hey, man, hold up.
- 36:10Speaker 1: You can't do that. We just got the two of
- 36:12Speaker 1: y'all in here. Fire and ice.
- 36:15Speaker 2: Closed the door? Like, how you gonna close the door? Like, nah, man,
- 36:18Speaker 2: he got all the powers. We ain't got no money.
- 36:21Speaker 3: For all the powers, dude.
- 36:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I learned a lot from that. Shout out to Landers,
- 36:25Speaker 2: because I never felt the budget, but... If you look
- 36:28Speaker 2: at this show, it was very efficient in how it
- 36:30Speaker 2: uses resources.
- 36:31Speaker 1: Yes, extremely efficient because and that's what made it so cool.
- 36:35Speaker 1: When we did see constructs and stuff, it was a
- 36:37Speaker 1: cool thing. And it's like, save that for the movie
- 36:40Speaker 1: because we've already seen that. And for people all, you know,
- 36:42Speaker 1: that's what's funny. It's so funny. It just goes back to,
- 36:46Speaker 1: you know, the audiences for the most part do not
- 36:51Speaker 1: know what they want. And you have to show them
- 36:54Speaker 1: the way because Everyone always complains, me being one of them,
- 36:58Speaker 1: that every Marvel movie ends with a blue light laser
- 37:01Speaker 1: flying down from the sky in the third act, and
- 37:04Speaker 1: a big CGI fest of a fight that you can't
- 37:07Speaker 1: tell who is who, and none of the character development
- 37:10Speaker 1: matters after that.
- 37:11Speaker 3: Right.
- 37:12Speaker 1: And this is pure character development through eight episodes with,
- 37:16Speaker 1: you know, nary CGI and all that, and people are mad. Yeah, bro.
- 37:20Speaker 3: It's... You cannot win.
- 37:23Speaker 2: Yeah, you can't really please people 100% of the time.
- 37:27Speaker 2: You just have to do the best work you can.
- 37:30Speaker 2: Some people will get it, and some people will appreciate
- 37:32Speaker 2: it later, man. I feel like that happens, too, where
- 37:34Speaker 2: people get something they don't like and be like, actually,
- 37:37Speaker 2: we were kind of cooking with season one of Landers
- 37:40Speaker 2: now that I'm looking at the next thing that I
- 37:42Speaker 2: don't like.
- 37:43Speaker 3: I saw a few detractors here and there, but I
- 37:45Speaker 3: just blame.
- 37:51Speaker 2: Threads for showing me that shit. Cause they didn't even
- 37:54Speaker 2: have no motion. Like it wasn't like a whole lot
- 37:57Speaker 2: of people was agreeing or anything. I was like, bro, you,
- 38:00Speaker 2: it's like, they just come on the timeline to get
- 38:01Speaker 2: beat up. Like, I don't even know why they do.
- 38:03Speaker 2: It's like, ah, I watched one second of Landers, man.
- 38:06Speaker 2: And PS sucks. I'm so bored. And then everybody just
- 38:09Speaker 2: jumps them. I'm like, I guess that's why they doing it.
- 38:12Speaker 1: Cause I don't know.
- 38:13Speaker 3: This shit got like high Metacritic scores.
- 38:16Speaker 1: Like, you know, credit. Yeah. People like it.
- 38:19Speaker 3: I don't know. It's going to be all right.
- 38:21Speaker 1: It's exceptional. Daniel Jones said, I feel like they have
- 38:24Speaker 1: set up multiple things they can do that can open
- 38:28Speaker 1: up a lot from Guardian's side to see a story
- 38:30Speaker 1: of them choosing a person like Kyle to go with John.
- 38:33Speaker 1: Definitely not Kyle Rayner, I don't feel like. Kyle Rayner
- 38:35Speaker 1: is too good-hearted a dude, but I do feel that.
- 38:39Speaker 3: Like you said, you almost have to change the genre
- 38:42Speaker 3: of the show.
- 38:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 38:44Speaker 2: Because Kyle would stick out in a true detective setting.
- 38:48Speaker 1: Yes, he would. But at the same time, like Guy
- 38:51Speaker 1: Gardner did say, they're going to bring an army on you.
- 38:54Speaker 1: And that is one unanswered question, I'll say, because I
- 38:57Speaker 1: guess it was answered in a way is that what
- 39:01Speaker 1: was up with Leigh-Anne the Guardian? Because I always thought
- 39:04Speaker 1: that they were a rogue guardian or something, but I
- 39:07Speaker 1: guess that's not the case. And the Guardian just ain't
- 39:10Speaker 1: shit universally. And that worked.
- 39:13Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, yeah, actually, yeah, that's not a plot
- 39:16Speaker 3: hole at all.
- 39:18Speaker 1: Answer my whole question.
- 39:19Speaker 2: That's actually the simplest solution. And what I had assumed
- 39:23Speaker 2: from day one. So, yeah, okay.
- 39:25Speaker 1: All of them made shit. Yeah, okay, that works.
- 39:27Speaker 2: Yeah, like, that was one thing about this show, man.
- 39:30Speaker 2: You cannot call it copaganda. Like, this shit was the
- 39:33Speaker 2: cops are bad, whether they space cops or not. Like,
- 39:37Speaker 2: you cannot trust them motherfuckers. And, yeah, even the whole
- 39:42Speaker 2: idea of them coming to beat down John because he's
- 39:45Speaker 2: appointed himself the guardian of Earth.
- 39:47Speaker 3: Is pretty fucking ridiculous.
- 39:49Speaker 1: Why?
- 39:49Speaker 3: Why would y'all, why would you need to beat him down?
- 39:52Speaker 1: No, you're right. You're right. And that's his point. When
- 39:55Speaker 1: he tells him, if you search in your hearts, because
- 39:58Speaker 1: that's what they said to his mom.
- 39:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 40:00Speaker 1: So it's all, you know, and that's what he's saying. Like,
- 40:03Speaker 1: so no, I don't even think that's, I don't think
- 40:04Speaker 1: that's the case. I don't think.
- 40:06Speaker 3: Y'all were going to give him a ring.
- 40:08Speaker 2: So either you trust him or you don't like, so
- 40:11Speaker 2: while you took him through all that shit to try
- 40:13Speaker 2: to make him steal a ring, he got a ring
- 40:15Speaker 2: on his own.
- 40:16Speaker 3: The ring y'all wanted him to steal. He got it anyway.
- 40:19Speaker 3: And he's like, I'm just going to protect earth.
- 40:21Speaker 2: And if y'all stand out and I won't even be
- 40:23Speaker 2: in your way, guy, go do your thing. We shouldn't
- 40:25Speaker 2: even run into each other, which felt more like a,
- 40:28Speaker 2: that felt like a direct, command that didn't feel like
- 40:30Speaker 2: he was when he said we won't i'm i'm a
- 40:34Speaker 2: hundred percent sure we won't run into each oh yeah
- 40:37Speaker 2: no that was that didn't feel like yeah that yeah
- 40:40Speaker 2: exactly that.
- 40:41Speaker 3: Wasn't like oh if i see you working over there
- 40:43Speaker 3: i'm gonna move it felt like if.
- 40:44Speaker 1: You see me coming you should move yeah that was
- 40:47Speaker 1: like you know if you're over here investigating something on
- 40:50Speaker 1: earth and i show up you fly away.
- 40:52Speaker 2: Yeah and we shouldn't we should never have to run
- 40:54Speaker 2: into each other as long as you know like It's
- 40:57Speaker 2: like you break up with your ex and you be like,
- 40:58Speaker 2: this is my grocery store.
- 40:59Speaker 3: You go to the other one. And we should never
- 41:01Speaker 3: run into each other.
- 41:02Speaker 1: Ever again, bro. This is the last time we see
- 41:05Speaker 1: each other, fam. I don't expect, you know, perhaps I
- 41:08Speaker 1: don't expect to see you in Manna tomorrow, you know. Yeah, exactly.
- 41:13Speaker 1: That might be John writing him out of the script
- 41:16Speaker 1: right there. That would be funny.
- 41:19Speaker 3: Guy ain't even in that shit?
- 41:21Speaker 1: Oh, man. Oh, my God. The fanboys will lose it, boy.
- 41:27Speaker 2: I would low-key lose it because I love John.
- 41:30Speaker 1: I love him. I love him.
- 41:32Speaker 2: However many times I can see John... get up in
- 41:35Speaker 2: guys face I'm with it like that's why I know
- 41:39Speaker 2: you said he not gonna have to go to but
- 41:40Speaker 2: I kind of want him to have it because.
- 41:42Speaker 3: That's the kind of shit I want John to check.
- 41:44Speaker 2: His ass on every time I see him getting checked
- 41:47Speaker 2: by John.
- 41:48Speaker 1: I told you about that right yeah what did.
- 41:50Speaker 2: I tell you about the two like something like that
- 41:53Speaker 2: like they have a little exchange and then right before
- 41:55Speaker 2: John leaves like and what did I tell you about
- 41:57Speaker 2: that too.
- 41:57Speaker 1: No no uh cashing lock said John aka Earth Beboke
- 42:02Speaker 1: Like you see God put the tooth back on when
- 42:05Speaker 1: John leaves.
- 42:11Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what we need.
- 42:12Speaker 2: We need him to pull up with like Superman is
- 42:15Speaker 2: there talking to God. John pulls up and we see
- 42:19Speaker 2: we low key see him try to snag for the tooth.
- 42:24Speaker 1: John's going to be here.
- 42:25Speaker 3: Hold on a second.
- 42:27Speaker 1: Come back out the bathroom window. Right. He can't get
- 42:30Speaker 1: it off.
- 42:30Speaker 3: He tried to do the whole scene with his mouth
- 42:32Speaker 3: kind of closed.
- 42:33Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 42:36Speaker 3: He's like, you normally got a whole lot of shit
- 42:39Speaker 3: to say.
- 42:39Speaker 1: Go ahead and say something, guy. All right, Chet, before
- 42:46Speaker 1: we do get out of here tonight, you know, any other,
- 42:48Speaker 1: I just want to know what y'all thinking. What do
- 42:50Speaker 1: y'all think for season two, you know, going to future
- 42:53Speaker 1: of John, what y'all think of the season overall? I
- 42:56Speaker 1: will say this. I do like the open-endedness of the
- 43:00Speaker 1: lantern having that bit of yellow in it. You know
- 43:03Speaker 1: what I mean? Yeah. Like, and even Halle Graham saying
- 43:07Speaker 1: to him, you know, don't be afraid to be afraid,
- 43:09Speaker 1: you know, and him realizing that his mom was afraid,
- 43:13Speaker 1: you know, and all that. And that fear. And it
- 43:14Speaker 1: made her strong. Yes. And that fear is part of it.
- 43:18Speaker 1: And so I like that. And I like, honestly, I
- 43:21Speaker 1: like them going. I don't want to say this to
- 43:24Speaker 1: make a lot of people mad, but the more they
- 43:27Speaker 1: go away from the comics, the more I'm kind of
- 43:29Speaker 1: with it. You know, like I don't, I've, I think
- 43:33Speaker 1: the emotional, I mean, the, the Lancers are cool to
- 43:36Speaker 1: different Lancer colors, but they got to do it right.
- 43:39Speaker 1: You know, if they do it on the simple way
- 43:40Speaker 1: that a lot of people want it to be, I
- 43:42Speaker 1: don't think that's going to work out.
- 43:43Speaker 2: And it wouldn't, it definitely wouldn't fit this style of
- 43:45Speaker 2: show to do something that simple. Like he just put
- 43:47Speaker 2: on the, he just turned yellow. He got a yellow suit.
- 43:50Speaker 2: Like people wouldn't buy it anyway. Um, although I will
- 43:55Speaker 2: say the one thing that does irk me a bit,
- 43:58Speaker 2: even though I know why he did it.
- 44:01Speaker 1: Hmm.
- 44:01Speaker 3: Giving an old girl the 300K was.
- 44:04Speaker 1: That came up in the chat earlier. There was a
- 44:06Speaker 1: lot of discussion about that. I'm not going to lie.
- 44:09Speaker 3: Didn't feel great about it.
- 44:11Speaker 1: But I get it.
- 44:13Speaker 3: Why only her?
- 44:15Speaker 1: There we go. That's my biggest thing.
- 44:19Speaker 2: If you want to do reparations, it seems like the
- 44:21Speaker 2: whole town would get reparations, not this one person. There
- 44:25Speaker 2: was no big secret reveal other than John feels regret
- 44:30Speaker 2: for his role in what happened in the town, but we.
- 44:33Speaker 3: Kind of knew that.
- 44:34Speaker 2: So, you know, and I guess maybe to tell us
- 44:36Speaker 2: like 300 K ain't nothing to a big player like him.
- 44:39Speaker 3: Like, I guess that's, that's what's up. I don't know.
- 44:42Speaker 2: He gonna be the first, like he the Bruce Wayne
- 44:45Speaker 2: of the, of the, of the lanterns.
- 44:47Speaker 3: I don't, you know, but.
- 44:48Speaker 2: Still it was, I guess for me, I was kind
- 44:51Speaker 2: of like, oh yeah, I guess she did want that money.
- 44:54Speaker 3: I don't know why I thought something deeper.
- 44:55Speaker 1: Was going to happen. yeah somebody a lot of people
- 44:59Speaker 1: said they were cool with just a note being black
- 45:02Speaker 1: craft media okay yeah being black and craft media said
- 45:05Speaker 1: they were cool just a.
- 45:06Speaker 2: Note yeah but that was just a note i said
- 45:09Speaker 2: yeah don't give a.
- 45:11Speaker 1: Shit no that's that's not a hero.
- 45:14Speaker 2: You think you're trying to extort who you think i'm
- 45:16Speaker 2: still sorry i'm the yellow lantern i'm still sorry and
- 45:20Speaker 2: you ain't getting nothing That's more Orange Land Yeah that
- 45:25Speaker 2: wouldn't have felt That would have been red That wouldn't
- 45:27Speaker 2: have felt right.
- 45:28Speaker 1: No that's orange That greed Orange Yeah the greed Yeah
- 45:33Speaker 1: mine mine mine That's your pal gift.
- 45:37Speaker 3: Not my money 300,000 girl I smell broke out here
- 45:39Speaker 3: That Donna.
- 45:40Speaker 1: Not worth 300,000 Go ahead now Oh broke ass T-Mu
- 45:43Speaker 1: Annie Shout out to Jason LaJolly who called her T-Mu Annie.
- 45:55Speaker 2: T-Mu Annie?
- 45:55Speaker 1: That's hilarious. The son came out tomorrow for her though, so.
- 45:59Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 46:00Speaker 1: She made it, bro. Yeah, and I felt the same way, Rod.
- 46:03Speaker 1: It was more like, what about the rest of the town,
- 46:06Speaker 1: you know?
- 46:06Speaker 3: Right, yeah.
- 46:07Speaker 1: This one shorty just 300K now.
- 46:10Speaker 2: I can see if maybe she was like, and I'm
- 46:12Speaker 2: going to give this to all the orphans and some shit.
- 46:14Speaker 3: She just was like, I got 300K. I'm about to quit. Like,
- 46:18Speaker 3: y'all get your own eggs.
- 46:21Speaker 1: I'm out.
- 46:23Speaker 3: I'm rich, bitch. I had the money, y'all. I was
- 46:26Speaker 3: pulling people around.
- 46:29Speaker 1: That's how I felt with her. You gonna come back
- 46:33Speaker 1: like 10 years later, she gonna be at Macon Ranch.
- 46:36Speaker 1: That shit gonna be fixed back up.
- 46:38Speaker 2: I don't know how much you follow football, but they
- 46:46Speaker 2: put The former coach of the Carolina Panthers and I
- 46:50Speaker 2: think Nebraska's current coach, Matt Rule, had a cameo in
- 46:54Speaker 2: this episode. Yeah, he was in the stands. Yeah, he
- 46:58Speaker 2: was one of the Nebraska scouts.
- 47:01Speaker 1: Oh, nice, nice. Yeah.
- 47:03Speaker 3: Who gave him the hat?
- 47:05Speaker 1: Was that a coach or something? He gave him the hat.
- 47:07Speaker 1: He had a line. He gave him the hat. That
- 47:09Speaker 1: man can't act.
- 47:11Speaker 3: He can't act, dude.
- 47:13Speaker 2: And they undefeated right now they five and oh but
- 47:16Speaker 2: they play indiana this weekend and i'm just saying if
- 47:18Speaker 2: they lose their memes is coming buddy oh oh your
- 47:22Speaker 2: coach would have your coach was at the your coach.
- 47:25Speaker 3: Was on lanterns that's why he had no game plan.
- 47:28Speaker 1: This week i missed college football that was all fixed
- 47:30Speaker 1: like they ain't losing this weekend yeah um Yeah, but anyway,
- 47:35Speaker 1: my man, no, that strip, you know, he might be
- 47:38Speaker 1: undefeated on the field, but that strip is whooping his ass.
- 47:40Speaker 3: It whooped his ass, man.
- 47:42Speaker 1: It whooped his ass, man. I was wondering, because that
- 47:45Speaker 1: man's delivery was terrible.
- 47:47Speaker 3: They forced him in there so hard, dude.
- 47:51Speaker 1: You forgot what I had to put you on.
- 47:52Speaker 3: Right. See you in Nebraska, son. I'm like, okay, get
- 47:59Speaker 3: out of here.
- 48:00Speaker 1: Oh my God, that was ridiculous. I didn't know, but
- 48:03Speaker 1: that explains it. Oh, that's Rule. Oh, somebody said in
- 48:08Speaker 1: the chat, that's Rule. Yeah, Matt Rule. Yeah, I know
- 48:11Speaker 1: the name. He used to coach the Panthers. He was trash.
- 48:15Speaker 2: So that's why I'm like, get this fool off my screen.
- 48:19Speaker 1: I'm not like, you know, I don't watch college football enough,
- 48:23Speaker 1: but to me, it's like, this whole shit seems fixed. Like,
- 48:26Speaker 1: Y'all choose the teams y'all play. Y'all be playing people,
- 48:29Speaker 1: you know, who obviously ain't going to beat you. And
- 48:32Speaker 1: then it's like, oh, here's a big game this week,
- 48:35Speaker 1: you know? And it's like, what? Like, now, fam? No,
- 48:39Speaker 1: this shit is lit.
- 48:39Speaker 3: It is crazy that you could.
- 48:41Speaker 2: Like, if you could pick your own opponents, you should be, like,
- 48:44Speaker 2: 10-1 every year.
- 48:44Speaker 1: Thank you. Like, yeah, that's what I don't say. It's like,
- 48:47Speaker 1: it just makes no sense. Like, or the one game
- 48:50Speaker 1: you lost was against a good team, you know? Like,
- 48:52Speaker 1: of course.
- 48:53Speaker 2: It's crazy now because they got the... nil shit in
- 48:57Speaker 2: the transfer portal like you really can see like like
- 49:01Speaker 2: this is the dream right like indiana is actually a
- 49:04Speaker 2: good team now like that used to be impossible like
- 49:07Speaker 2: indiana what right they even got.
- 49:10Speaker 3: People that's allowed to play football out.
- 49:12Speaker 2: There or whatever and then bam the money came in
- 49:14Speaker 2: they found them some boys. So, I'm saying, Matt Rule,
- 49:20Speaker 2: be careful Saturday player because these pictures coming back on
- 49:23Speaker 2: your ass.
- 49:24Speaker 1: Wait, this Saturday?
- 49:25Speaker 3: Yeah, they play this Saturday. They didn't win a championship
- 49:28Speaker 3: last year.
- 49:29Speaker 1: I'm going to be at Comic-Con. I won't even have
- 49:31Speaker 1: time to watch.
- 49:32Speaker 3: Well, you'll see the memes. You'll see the memes when
- 49:34Speaker 3: you get out.
- 49:35Speaker 1: Yeah, I can't wait.
- 49:36Speaker 3: If they lose, I mean, because they going to, boy,
- 49:39Speaker 3: they going to go in on his ass.
- 49:41Speaker 1: He took a chance, buddy.
- 49:43Speaker 2: Shit, low key, if they would have been like four
- 49:45Speaker 2: and one right now, they would have memed them up already.
- 49:47Speaker 3: They just happened to not lose, so can't nobody get them,
- 49:50Speaker 3: but it's coming.
- 49:51Speaker 1: We going to see. And on that note, yes, this weekend,
- 49:55Speaker 1: D43 in Artist Alley. I and the rest of the
- 49:58Speaker 1: For All Nerds team will be down there all weekend.
- 50:02Speaker 1: New York Comic Con. D43, it rhymes. You like that. Bars.
- 50:07Speaker 1: Artist Alley, D43. It's going to be me and Stephen Harris.
- 50:12Speaker 1: Right next to us is DC Crownson, the author of
- 50:17Speaker 1: Harriet Tubman's Demon Slayer. Steph I Will is right behind us.
- 50:23Speaker 1: We got this whole area locked down with blackness. It's
- 50:25Speaker 1: really crazy. It's going to be beautiful. Artist Alley, all
- 50:29Speaker 1: weekend long. Everyday New York Comic Con, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
- 50:33Speaker 1: So make sure you come through. Say what up, all that.
- 50:35Speaker 1: I know Regine, lock it down. Janese, all them people
- 50:38Speaker 1: probably be up in there. So, you know, you never know.
- 50:40Speaker 1: So come through.
- 50:42Speaker 3: That's what's up.
- 50:43Speaker 1: Chat, I think that's about it. Anything else before we
- 50:46Speaker 1: get out of here, let me know in the chat.
- 50:48Speaker 1: And thank you to everybody. This has been crazy. We're
- 50:51Speaker 1: going to keep it going. We got Vision Quest coming
- 50:53Speaker 1: back next week. We do have our full review of
- 50:56Speaker 1: this show, which will be dropping Tuesday at 10 a.m.
- 50:59Speaker 1: That's going to be a big one. Got some big
- 51:02Speaker 1: special guests on that. Tom King is flaking on me, y'all.
- 51:07Speaker 1: I'm going to put it out there. I'm going to
- 51:09Speaker 1: put it out there. Tom King. Let's go. Get out
- 51:12Speaker 1: of here. Shout out to Tom King. I was at
- 51:14Speaker 1: Baltimore Comic Con. I talked with him there and he
- 51:17Speaker 1: gave me his assistance people and I think it's because
- 51:21Speaker 1: it's the same reason we were, and I can reveal
- 51:23Speaker 1: this now, we were supposed to have Breanne Gibson, another
- 51:25Speaker 1: of the writers on the show last week, but Bre
- 51:27Speaker 1: got caught up with some, she's working on a new
- 51:30Speaker 1: Damon Lindelof show and they had some emergencies. Okay. So
- 51:33Speaker 1: she couldn't come on and then she was like, yo,
- 51:35Speaker 1: this show's ending, so I don't really feel right coming
- 51:37Speaker 1: on next week. Right. But shout out to you. I
- 51:40Speaker 1: was still like, yo, I don't give a fuck. Come on, Bre. Right, yeah.
- 51:43Speaker 1: We still talking, Landers. But shout out to them. Shout
- 51:46Speaker 1: out to Bre. Shout out to Vanessa. Shout out to Justin.
- 51:48Speaker 1: Shout out to Damon Lindelof. Like, for real, fucking shout
- 51:51Speaker 1: out to Damon Lindelof, man, because he's really helped us
- 51:54Speaker 1: get a lot of these people on here. He's been
- 51:56Speaker 1: a big supporter of Fall Nerds ever since we met him.
- 51:59Speaker 1: And he's one of the few, you know. Yeah, he's
- 52:02Speaker 1: one of the few white men I would really stand
- 52:03Speaker 1: up for in this industry, straight up and down. Yeah,
- 52:05Speaker 1: for real. Yeah, he's a real one, dog. Yeah, and,
- 52:08Speaker 1: you know, this has been incredible work on this show.
- 52:10Speaker 1: Shout out to everybody involved. I loved it. Like I said,
- 52:14Speaker 1: we'll be back with Vision Quest. Let me see what
- 52:16Speaker 1: the chat has. Rod, any last words? You know, let
- 52:18Speaker 1: them know where you find me.
- 52:20Speaker 2: The Black Guy Who Tips is our podcast. We also
- 52:23Speaker 2: have a Patreon.
- 52:24Speaker 3: Join that.
- 52:25Speaker 2: We do a nerd show every three weeks called The
- 52:27Speaker 2: Nerd Off. And we just get on there and talk
- 52:30Speaker 2: like this, man.
- 52:31Speaker 3: It's always a good time.
- 52:33Speaker 2: And if you like TV show reviews like the one
- 52:36Speaker 2: we're doing right now.
- 52:38Speaker 1: Check out This Too Much.
- 52:40Speaker 3: T-O-O Much.
- 52:41Speaker 1: It's a podcast I do with my friend.
- 52:43Speaker 2: Bossy Ickby, and we are currently doing The Drop, a
- 52:47Speaker 2: Snowfall saga.
- 52:48Speaker 1: Oh, man.
- 52:49Speaker 3: Check that out, man.
- 52:50Speaker 1: Are you watching it? No, if I never finish Snowfall,
- 52:54Speaker 1: can I jump on The Drop?
- 52:56Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 52:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 52:57Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 52:58Speaker 1: I think, yeah, you should be able to hop on without.
- 53:01Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 53:01Speaker 1: It's like a separate story. You got it.
- 53:03Speaker 3: Did you have much snowfall you watch?
- 53:05Speaker 1: Not far. Once Saint decided to shoot his boy in
- 53:08Speaker 1: the park, that's when I was like, yeah.
- 53:10Speaker 3: Then you know enough. You know enough.
- 53:11Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 53:13Speaker 3: It's just like, you know what I'm saying?
- 53:15Speaker 2: Like, you know all the character archetypes.
- 53:17Speaker 3: So you got right in.
- 53:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 53:18Speaker 1: Yeah, definitely.
- 53:19Speaker 4: Okay.
- 53:19Speaker 1: Okay. Because I want to. Because I've heard it's good
- 53:21Speaker 1: and it's about the music business, which I love.
- 53:23Speaker 3: And it's not as evil as Snowfall.
- 53:25Speaker 1: Thank you. Because like I said, when Saint shot his
- 53:27Speaker 1: boy in the park, I was like... It's just like,
- 53:29Speaker 1: for one, look, I know there's Snowfall fans, but the
- 53:31Speaker 1: show was... Snowfall had these great things. The music was
- 53:35Speaker 1: fucking incredible. When they put more bounce to the ounce,
- 53:38Speaker 1: my mind was making crack. I was like, this is
- 53:41Speaker 1: such genius levels of thinking that I was amazed. But
- 53:45Speaker 1: Then when you have RZA, you know, as the crack wizard,
- 53:47Speaker 1: it's like this show is, you know, this show is silly.
- 53:50Speaker 3: They took some flights of fancy.
- 53:51Speaker 1: Yes.
- 53:52Speaker 2: They took some flights. Once in a season, they was
- 53:54Speaker 2: good for some weird shit.
- 53:56Speaker 1: Yeah. And so when you have that and then you
- 53:58Speaker 1: have darkness like Saints shooting his boy in the back
- 54:01Speaker 1: when he could have done a million other things.
- 54:04Speaker 2: The thing with Franklin is that he had the devil
- 54:07Speaker 2: inside him. Yes.
- 54:09Speaker 1: And that's what the whole show is. Yeah, I know.
- 54:12Speaker 2: The whole show is the slow reveal that this man
- 54:15Speaker 2: had the devil inside of him the whole time.
- 54:17Speaker 3: You really be fighting against it in season one.
- 54:20Speaker 1: Like, nah. He got the devil in him in season one.
- 54:25Speaker 2: But like in episode one, you like this nerd.
- 54:30Speaker 3: So I guess he gonna become like the kingpin of
- 54:32Speaker 3: the block. Nah, brother. He's about to become the kingpin.
- 54:39Speaker 3: he's about to.
- 54:40Speaker 1: But then he ends as the king fiend right yeah
- 54:43Speaker 1: yeah eventually but i'm just saying bro you see the
- 54:46Speaker 1: darkness in that man's heart bro they really don't spare
- 54:48Speaker 1: you no so.
- 54:50Speaker 2: I feel you that like i got through it all
- 54:52Speaker 2: but yeah that was tough uh that that when he
- 54:56Speaker 2: was killing the homies and.
- 54:57Speaker 1: Shit yeah no i can't and like i said i've
- 54:59Speaker 1: already watched the wire too many times i'm like Yeah.
- 55:02Speaker 3: Well, it's not The Wire.
- 55:03Speaker 1: No, I know. And that's what I mean. And The
- 55:04Speaker 1: Wire has enough of black people shooting each other. Oh, yeah. Oh, nah.
- 55:09Speaker 3: The Wire hurt.
- 55:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 55:11Speaker 1: And that's what I mean. I didn't need to see
- 55:12Speaker 1: that again on a lesser level.
- 55:14Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 55:14Speaker 3: I feel you on that.
- 55:15Speaker 1: I feel you.
- 55:16Speaker 3: Well, so far, so far, none of that. The Drop not.
- 55:20Speaker 2: It's more music based so far. So hopefully it don't
- 55:24Speaker 2: get that dark.
- 55:24Speaker 1: Somebody in the chat said Nebraska plays Indiana this week.
- 55:27Speaker 1: They about to get spanked.
- 55:28Speaker 3: That's what I said.
- 55:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 55:30Speaker 3: That's what I said.
- 55:31Speaker 1: The meme's coming. Oh, we got a big game this week.
- 55:35Speaker 3: The meme's coming.
- 55:36Speaker 2: Oh, this is going to be our new quarterback because
- 55:38Speaker 2: you know that boy that played a quarterback in this
- 55:41Speaker 2: show is like five foot one. Like, he too little
- 55:45Speaker 2: played quarterback anyway, so they about to be pulling that
- 55:48Speaker 2: quarterback footage on y'all.
- 55:49Speaker 3: It's going to be crazy if you lose this week.
- 55:52Speaker 1: All right. All right. Yeah, Chet, thank you all. Like
- 55:59Speaker 1: I say, we will be back Tuesday. You know, that
- 56:01Speaker 1: drops Tuesday, 10 a.m. Make sure you're here for the live.
- 56:04Speaker 1: A bunch of other stuff this week. I'm not sure
- 56:06Speaker 1: when exactly because there's so much stuff going on. But sometime,
- 56:10Speaker 1: probably tomorrow, probably Monday at some point, I will be
- 56:13Speaker 1: on live, you know, just talking shit, getting ready for
- 56:15Speaker 1: New York Comic Con, playing some music, doing some other stuff.
- 56:18Speaker 1: And all week, we got a bunch of stuff dropping.
- 56:20Speaker 1: Probably do a bunch more lives. We'll be live from
- 56:23Speaker 1: the con. It's going down, so it's a lot of
- 56:26Speaker 1: stuff going on. Thank you, like, the support, the love
- 56:29Speaker 1: has been absolutely phenomenal for all of this Lanterns coverage,
- 56:33Speaker 1: for For All Nerds, for everything we do. Thank you
- 56:36Speaker 1: so much. If you're new to the channel and you
- 56:38Speaker 1: haven't already, make sure you hit that subscribe, hit that like,
- 56:41Speaker 1: all that good stuff. Rodimus, anything else?
- 56:45Speaker 3: Nah, that's it, man. Appreciate you having me. Always have
- 56:47Speaker 3: fun being here.
- 56:48Speaker 1: Oh, man, it's always a blessing, brother. Thank you very much.
