- 0:05Good evening, and welcome to this special New
- 0:08Year's edition of Voices of Life from the Church
- 0:14for Life. Good evening, and welcome to this special
- 0:20New Year's Eve edition of Voices of Life from
- 0:23the Church for Life. I'm Pastor David, and I'm
- 0:26honored to spend these final moments of 2025
- 0:29with you as i listen outside the church i hear
- 0:33fireworks going off everybody getting ready to
- 0:36celebrate the new incoming year but tonight is
- 0:40like like unlike any other night the calendar
- 0:44is turning the clock is ticking and we stand
- 0:49together on the edge of something new there is
- 0:54the final breath of the year a sacred moment
- 0:59between what has been and what will be tonight
- 1:07we're not rushing we're not pretending and we
- 1:12are not performing we are instead reflecting
- 1:16honestly courageously and with faith this new
- 1:25year's eve message is called The good, the bad,
- 1:30and the ugly. Ending well, beginning new. Every
- 1:38year tells a story. And this one, this past year,
- 1:43has been no exception. There was good, moments
- 1:48that lifted your spirit, people who surprised
- 1:51you with kindness, opportunities you didn't even
- 1:56expect. And breakthroughs you prayed for. There
- 2:02was also bad. Disappointments. Plans that fell
- 2:07apart. Relationships that got strained. And doors
- 2:13that closed. And yes, there was ugly. The kind
- 2:20of moments we don't post about. The mistakes
- 2:25we wish we could erase. The emotions we tried
- 2:29to hide. And the battles no one else saw. But
- 2:36here's the truth. God was present in every chapter.
- 2:41Not just the beautiful ones. Not just the triumphant
- 2:45ones. But the messy, painful, and complicated
- 2:50ones too. Psalm 34 says, The Lord is close to
- 2:59the brokenhearted. Not just the joyful. Not just
- 3:04the strong. But the brokenhearted. Tonight, we
- 3:12name the year honestly. Because God meets us
- 3:16in truth. Let's begin with the good. Think back
- 3:25over the past 12 months. What were the things
- 3:31that made you smile, even once? What gave you
- 3:37strength? And what reminded you that God was
- 3:44still working? Maybe it was a restored relationship.
- 3:53Maybe it was a new opportunity Maybe it was a
- 3:59moment of peace in the middle of chaos and Maybe
- 4:04it was simply the fact that you made it through
- 4:07Gratitude is not denial Gratitude is recognition
- 4:15It says God I see you. I see what you did. I
- 4:27see you carried me. I see how you provided. Tonight,
- 4:34celebrate the good. Not because the year was
- 4:39perfect, but because God was faithful. Now we
- 4:47turn to the bad. The disappointments, the losses,
- 4:55the things that didn't go the way you hoped.
- 5:02This is part of the year we often try to skip
- 5:05over. But to heal, it requires that we're honest
- 5:13with ourself. Maybe you faced financial strain.
- 5:20Maybe you battled loneliness. Maybe you prayed
- 5:27for something that didn't happen. And maybe you
- 5:31felt stuck, unseen, or overwhelmed. God does
- 5:40not ask you to pretend. He invites you to bring
- 5:44the truth to Him. Psalm 62 says, Pour out your
- 5:52heart before him. Not the edited version. Not
- 5:57the polished version. The real one. Tonight we
- 6:04acknowledge the bad and that we're not going
- 6:10to dwell on it. But we are going to release its
- 6:14power over us. That is how we deal with the bad.
- 6:24And then, then there's the ugly. We could say
- 6:29the really, really bad, but we're going to use
- 6:32the word ugly. The moments we regret. The choices
- 6:40we wish we could undo. The words we wish we hadn't
- 6:45said. The habits we fell back into. The anger.
- 6:53the fear, and the shame. Everyone has an ugly
- 7:01chapter. Everyone. But hear this clearly. Your
- 7:11ugly moments do not disqualify you from God's
- 7:15love. In fact, they qualify you for His grace.
- 7:22Romans 5 says, Where sin is increased, grace
- 7:28increased all the more. God doesn't run from
- 7:33your mess. He runs toward it. Tonight, we bring
- 7:40the ugly to God. Not to hide it, but to let him
- 7:46redeem it. And we do this together. As the clock
- 7:54moves toward midnight, we must decide what comes
- 7:59with us into the new year. And what must stay
- 8:04behind. What we have to leave behind. Some things
- 8:10cannot follow you into tomorrow. They're destructive.
- 8:17What are those things? The bitterness. The guilt,
- 8:24the shame, the fear, the self -doubt, the lies
- 8:36spoken over you, and the weight you were never
- 8:42meant to carry. Isaiah 43 says, See, I'm doing
- 8:52a new thing. Do you not perceive it? To receive
- 8:58the new, you must release the old. Tonight is
- 9:04not just a countdown. It is a letting go. A new
- 9:14year is not magic, but it is a marker. A reminder
- 9:20that God writes new chapters. You don't step
- 9:26into a new year alone. Christ goes with you.
- 9:32Christ goes before you. And Christ surrounds
- 9:36you. Hebrews says, Jesus Christ is the same yesterday,
- 9:44today, and forever. The calendar changes, but
- 9:52his faithfulness does not. Walk into the new
- 9:58year with hope. Not because you know what will
- 10:02happen, but you know who goes with you. Let us
- 10:14pray. Gracious God, As this year comes to a close,
- 10:21we bring you the good, the bad, and the ugly.
- 10:30We thank you for every blessing. We surrender
- 10:35every burden. We release every regret. Tonight
- 10:42we choose forgiveness. We choose healing. We
- 10:51choose hope. Renew our minds. Restore our hearts.
- 11:00Lead us into the new year with courage and faith.
- 11:07Amen. Thank you for spending this New Year's
- 11:15Eve with Voices of Life from the Church of Life.
- 11:19As you step into a new year, remember, God is
- 11:24not finished with you. God is not disappointed
- 11:27in you. And God is not distant from you. He is
- 11:32with you in every moment that is coming. Join
- 11:38us tomorrow for our special New Year's Day. We're
- 11:44looking forward to celebrating the new year and
- 11:48what we have in store. We'll be starting a 12
- 11:51-week series, and I hope you will listen in on
- 11:54that. I'm Pastor David, and this has been Voices
- 11:59of Life. Grace and peace to you tonight and in
- 12:05the year ahead. I look forward to being with
- 12:09you again soon. Thank you and good night.
