- 1:09Dayna Roselli: Welcome to Vegas Reveal.
- 1:11Dayna Roselli: This is episode 254, and again we are in season six.
- 1:16Dayna Roselli: Excited to start our sixth season.
- 1:19Dayna Roselli: We just did a new podcast last week to kick off the year, and we're moving right along.
- 1:23Sean McAllister: That's kind of crazy, isn't it?
- 1:25Dayna Roselli: Mm-hmm.
- 1:25Dayna Roselli: It really is.
- 1:26Sean McAllister: I can't believe it's been six years.
- 1:27Sean McAllister: And thank you to all of you who have been listening for all of that time.
- 1:31Sean McAllister: If you're a newer listener, we appreciate you too.
- 1:34Sean McAllister: And a reminder, there's a link down in our show notes where you can text us your thoughts, ideas, feedback, and we're gonna get to one of those listener text messages coming up here in just a minute.
- 1:45Dayna Roselli: First, though, we have to start uh by talking about the fires in California.
- 1:49Dayna Roselli: Obviously, you know, California, Southern California, LA, all like like neighbors to us, like family.
- 1:55Dayna Roselli: Um, our visitors, a large bulk of them come from California.
- 2:00Dayna Roselli: Um, Sean and I appear on KCal every other week and speak to the people of Southern California about Las Vegas.
- 2:08Dayna Roselli: We also have a lot of people who have moved to Las Vegas from Southern California, and obviously it has been such a tough week.
- 2:15Dayna Roselli: Our segment on KCal got canceled, obviously, because they needed to do all hands on deck over there.
- 2:21Sean McAllister: Yeah, I have been uh I've been streaming uh the coverage from KCal uh here at home in Las Vegas, and huge kudos to the entire team at KCal.
- 2:33Sean McAllister: And I know they have uh reporters from CBS stations across the country who have flown in to help with that coverage.
- 2:42Sean McAllister: And obviously, not only KCal, there are other local stations there in Los Angeles who have just done tremendous work in bringing in bringing uh life-saving and uh minute-by-minute information to viewers across Southern California to keep people safe.
- 3:01Sean McAllister: And I think that's a testament to what local news is all about.
- 3:05Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I mean you just it's you can't uh go through a tragedy and a crisis like this liter without local news.
- 3:12Dayna Roselli: You just can't.
- 3:13Dayna Roselli: And um, you know, it's important to see what the community's doing, it's important to see where things like the fire in this situation, where it stands.
- 3:22Dayna Roselli: It's important to see and hear from people and their story and what they need and all that stuff.
- 3:28Dayna Roselli: It just it's really been a lifeline for so many people.
- 3:31Dayna Roselli: You and I have been involved in local news for years and years and years, so we can't reiterate enough.
- 3:36Dayna Roselli: It's important now and always, and we hope people will continue to watch it.
- 3:42Dayna Roselli: You see those reporters and those news anchors really rise above.
- 3:46Dayna Roselli: And, you know, again, like you said, kudos to these stations dropping commercials and just letting the information flow.
- 3:52Sean McAllister: Oh my God.
- 3:52Sean McAllister: It's yeah, non-stop wall-to-wall coverage out there, which is uh not easy to do for people in front of the camera and behind the scenes.
- 4:02Sean McAllister: It's it takes a uh a lot of work and coordination to pull that off.
- 4:06Dayna Roselli: And many times they have, you know, a broadcast live on television, and then they've got this other component, which is like streaming with different talent leading the way there, you know, different uh reporters and journalists out in the field.
- 4:20Dayna Roselli: So it's been interesting to see, and I can only imagine some of those people every now and then need a break.
- 4:26Sean McAllister: Yeah, they do.
- 4:27Sean McAllister: Uh but here in Las Vegas, there has also been an outpouring of uh people, businesses, organizations who have wanted to step in and help.
- 4:38Sean McAllister: I know that's been a sentiment really across the country, people just feeling like, oh my gosh, what can I do for these people and communities that have, I mean, communities just wiped off the map, which is so sad to see.
- 4:52Sean McAllister: But here in Las Vegas, a lot of our resorts have stepped up to offer uh assistance as well.
- 4:58Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 4:58Dayna Roselli: I did notice, and and a lot of them have.
- 5:00Dayna Roselli: So, I mean, I when we pick out a couple or a few, this is not it's not a comprehensive list.
- 5:07Dayna Roselli: No, we just wanted to point out a couple things that came across our inbox that you know we we liked.
- 5:12Dayna Roselli: And one of them was that MGM Resorts has pledged a million dollars um in a donation to support the relief efforts.
- 5:19Dayna Roselli: Love that.
- 5:20Dayna Roselli: They're gonna be allocating funds to the American Red Cross and the Los Angeles Fire Department Foundation.
- 5:26Dayna Roselli: So they're also um, you know, asking any employees that want to give that they're gonna match donations.
- 5:32Dayna Roselli: So love all that.
- 5:33Dayna Roselli: Uh kudos to MGM for that.
- 5:35Sean McAllister: Yeah, and we've seen Resorts World, South Point, Treasure Island, Virgin Resorts, Prim Valley Resorts all offering discounted rates to people who have been impacted by these fires.
- 5:46Sean McAllister: Also, uh comedian Josh Wolf, who performs over at Jimmy Kimmel's Comedy Club, uh, recently did a special performance where all the proceeds were donated to the wildfire relief efforts.
- 5:59Sean McAllister: And I did see one post on social media um that said something to the effect of every single man and woman who are out there fighting these fires should never have to pay for another cuff cup of coffee or meal for at least a year.
- 6:15Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 6:15Dayna Roselli: I agree.
- 6:17Dayna Roselli: I mean, you know, and all these types of situations are where our first responders really elevate and volunteers.
- 6:24Dayna Roselli: Yes.
- 6:24Dayna Roselli: There are people who are, you know, maybe a retired firefighter who's like, I'm gonna jump in and help now.
- 6:29Dayna Roselli: You know what I mean?
- 6:30Dayna Roselli: And things like that.
- 6:31Dayna Roselli: Steve Gutenberg's out there, actor Steve Gutenberg, helping clear cars off the road.
- 6:36Dayna Roselli: And he's really, you know, and and we're friends with his wife, uh, acquaintances.
- 6:40Dayna Roselli: I worked with Emily back in Elmira, New York, and I've been keeping in touch with her.
- 6:44Dayna Roselli: But it's interesting to see everyone come together.
- 6:46Dayna Roselli: And she just said, you know, Steve is so passionate about this.
- 6:49Dayna Roselli: Um, also just wanted to mention it's interesting, everyone's take, you know, oh, it's celebrity homes and blah, blah, blah.
- 6:54Dayna Roselli: You know, at this time, just we need to put all that aside.
- 6:57Dayna Roselli: People are people.
- 6:58Dayna Roselli: Uh, your house is your house, your possessions are your possessions.
- 7:02Dayna Roselli: And I do feel for the most part, people have really been able to put that inside and go, this is just everyone's human and they're affected.
- 7:11Dayna Roselli: Doesn't matter how much money.
- 7:12Dayna Roselli: I mean, there's people like Paris Hilton who she lost one of her homes.
- 7:15Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 7:16Dayna Roselli: And she's also giving, started a charity and is, you know, started with a pledge of$100,000.
- 7:22Dayna Roselli: She's using her platform to go to all the animal shelters.
- 7:25Dayna Roselli: I mean, you know, I think a lot of people, a lot of celebrities that have spoken out, devastated losing their home, also making note that listen, I know I'm gonna be able to rebuild, but memories were lost.
- 7:42Dayna Roselli: And yes, it's just still traumatic to see your whole neighborhood, your whole community go up.
- 7:48Dayna Roselli: It doesn't matter who you are or how much you're gonna do.
- 7:50Sean McAllister: No, it doesn't.
- 7:51Sean McAllister: It doesn't.
- 7:52Dayna Roselli: And all the workers in that community, all the cafes, I mean, there's so it goes so beyond celebrities.
- 7:57Dayna Roselli: I just think sometimes when you don't live in this part of the country, you hear Hollywood in Los Angeles, and all you think is La La Land.
- 8:04Dayna Roselli: And it's just full of people rolling in it and you know, making movies.
- 8:10Dayna Roselli: And that's not the case.
- 8:11Sean McAllister: Well, and a lot of people who lived in these communities bought these homes decades ago in the 70s and 80s, before these parts of the state were you know, had skyrocketing real estate values.
- 8:26Sean McAllister: Right.
- 8:27Sean McAllister: And so, you know, even along the beach, there were small little beach homes, cottages, yeah, really, yeah, um, that people lived in.
- 8:37Sean McAllister: And, you know, those weren't the multimillion dollar celebrity homes.
- 8:42Sean McAllister: No.
- 8:42Sean McAllister: So there were a lot of people, just like you and me, who were impacted and who are having to navigate through this now.
- 8:50Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it's really, really, really sad.
- 8:52Dayna Roselli: And a lot of history gone too.
- 8:53Dayna Roselli: A lot of historic places have been um leveled to the ground.
- 8:57Dayna Roselli: So we'll keep you updated on that.
- 8:59Dayna Roselli: I mean, you know, we aren't there right now, but I know a lot of our listeners from around the world always like to kind of know our perspective and and how it stands.
- 9:07Dayna Roselli: Um, a quick conversation we were gonna have um is just, you know, wondering if a lot of people move to Las Vegas now, you know.
- 9:14Dayna Roselli: We always say how amazing Las Vegas is, and then we always go, well, let's not tell everyone because we don't want everyone to move here.
- 9:20Sean McAllister: We we like it to be our little secret.
- 9:21Dayna Roselli: Yeah, but um in this case The secrets out.
- 9:24Dayna Roselli: I know, the secrets out, and and we will see, you know, Las Vegas is a fabulous place to live, fabulous place to visit, and uh we can't speak, you know, high highly more highly than we usually do of how wonderful it is to live here, and we feel we feel blessed for that.
- 9:40Sean McAllister: Yeah, but I do have a feeling that there are going to be a a decent number of people who've been displaced who end up relocating here to Las Vegas, especially if you know the film industry, yeah, um, if all the tax credits are passed and and film studios set up shop here like they they plan to do.
- 9:59Sean McAllister: Right.
- 10:00Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 10:01Dayna Roselli: Um, and we're you know, Las Vegas is still open for business.
- 10:04Dayna Roselli: So come visit us.
- 10:05Dayna Roselli: Um, and we had one of our visitors ask us a question via text.
- 10:10Dayna Roselli: You can text us, we have a link in our show notes.
- 10:12Dayna Roselli: Again, we don't get your number, so you gotta add like your name and where you're from if you want to.
- 10:16Dayna Roselli: If not, it's fine.
- 10:18Dayna Roselli: We can't text you back, but we can talk about it in the show.
- 10:20Dayna Roselli: So we had a message and it said, Hi, Vegas Revealed, love your show.
- 10:26Sean McAllister: Thank you.
- 10:27Dayna Roselli: I love the Park MGM Casino and Resort, but don't love their rooms.
- 10:31Dayna Roselli: Do you know if the rooms will be updated in the future?
- 10:34Dayna Roselli: And that came from a listener in Redwood City, California.
- 10:38Sean McAllister: So we reached out because we always tell you if you don't know, if you write in with a question and we don't immediately know it, we will get the answer for you.
- 10:48Sean McAllister: So we reached out to MGM Resorts International, and uh we are told that there are no immediate plans to remodel the rooms over at Park MGM.
- 10:58Sean McAllister: Um but they will keep us posted uh if and when those plans do come together.
- 11:04Sean McAllister: I will say, however, this is one of the newer, the most recently remodeled uh resorts on the Las Vegas strip.
- 11:14Sean McAllister: I mean, Park MGM has been Park MGM for I don't know, five years now, maybe before that, five, six, seven.
- 11:23Sean McAllister: Um maybe several years.
- 11:25Dayna Roselli: Yeah, several years more, maybe longer.
- 11:26Dayna Roselli: Yeah, because when I lived at Veer that was a long time ago.
- 11:31Sean McAllister: Yeah, because I guess it has been a while since the Monte Carlo has gone away.
- 11:35Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I think it's been around a long time, we just time flies.
- 11:37Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I don't know.
- 11:38Sean McAllister: It just still feels new to me for some reason.
- 11:40Sean McAllister: Maybe because it's a smokeless casino and it just smells new.
- 11:44Sean McAllister: Um, but my cousin uh sent me a text just the other day.
- 11:48Sean McAllister: He and his wife came into town for a really quick trip and uh he said, Hey, we're in town if you can, you know, pop out to meet up with us.
- 11:57Sean McAllister: Schedules didn't allow that, but he said we stayed at Park MGM because last time my cousin was in town, I said, Hey, you know, Park MGM is a great property.
- 12:07Sean McAllister: If you're looking for a place to stay next time you're here, you should stay here.
- 12:10Sean McAllister: They loved it.
- 12:11Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 12:12Dayna Roselli: So and this person says they love it too.
- 12:15Dayna Roselli: They just wish the rooms were updated.
- 12:17Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 12:17Dayna Roselli: So here's a little solution.
- 12:19Dayna Roselli: I have a solution.
- 12:20Sean McAllister: Okay, what's your solution?
- 12:21Dayna Roselli: Well, I think there's a tram, right, that connects to ARIA, and this is keeping it within the MGM family.
- 12:25Dayna Roselli: Yeah, there is.
- 12:26Dayna Roselli: Maybe you stay at Aria.
- 12:28Dayna Roselli: And if you love the park MGM, you're right next door.
- 12:32Dayna Roselli: You can pop on the tram, go back and forth.
- 12:34Sean McAllister: There you go.
- 12:34Dayna Roselli: So maybe you check out the Aria rooms and see if that's a better fit for you.
- 12:38Sean McAllister: Look at that.
- 12:38Sean McAllister: Vegas revealed bringing solutions to the table.
- 12:42Sean McAllister: And answers.
- 12:44Dayna Roselli: And answers.
- 12:45Dayna Roselli: All right.
- 12:46Dayna Roselli: Well, um, hey, we went to the opening of Caspians.
- 12:49Dayna Roselli: And boy, when we posted about this, I can't even tell you the number of direct messages I got on Instagram of people saying, Is that the old Cleopatra's barge?
- 12:58Dayna Roselli: And the answer is yes.
- 12:59Dayna Roselli: So Cleopatra's barge around for years and years, just part of classic Caesar's Palace.
- 13:05Dayna Roselli: The the barge kind of stuck out right there in the hallway.
- 13:08Dayna Roselli: They even had the the little the water and the moat.
- 13:10Sean McAllister: The moat, yeah.
- 13:11Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 13:11Dayna Roselli: And I think when they opened it, what is that iconic picture of Goldie Han smashing the like the bottle of the water?
- 13:17Sean McAllister: Oh, yeah, to christen the christen the barge.
- 13:20Dayna Roselli: Is it called the hull or whatever it is?
- 13:22Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 13:22Dayna Roselli: Um, yeah.
- 13:23Dayna Roselli: So I mean it's been around forever.
- 13:25Dayna Roselli: Great spot.
- 13:26Dayna Roselli: It's always been a lounge, it's always had a little dance floor, then it converted into a live music venue.
- 13:32Dayna Roselli: Matt Goss had his show there after he left.
- 13:35Dayna Roselli: Uh, David Perico and different kinds of bands would come in there and do live music.
- 13:40Sean McAllister: I think Wayne Newton performed there for a while.
- 13:43Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 13:44Dayna Roselli: So that was going on.
- 13:46Dayna Roselli: I think COVID happened.
- 13:47Dayna Roselli: They kind of closed it and never reopened it, right?
- 13:49Sean McAllister: Right.
- 13:50Dayna Roselli: Then they decided, you know what, we're just gonna gut the whole thing.
- 13:53Dayna Roselli: So when we went, we were like, is this gonna like look anything like the barge?
- 13:57Dayna Roselli: And no, it's not even so.
- 13:59Dayna Roselli: This is an entirely new, brand, new, cut gutted, remodeled concept.
- 14:06Sean McAllister: Yeah, there is no uh barge that is integrated into the the new design.
- 14:11Dayna Roselli: No.
- 14:12Sean McAllister: Um, it's a really pretty spot.
- 14:14Dayna Roselli: It is.
- 14:15Dayna Roselli: I really did like it.
- 14:17Dayna Roselli: Um, you you have the sidebar there that's still kind of the same, but then you open that door that has a painting on it and you go into a big picture frame.
- 14:24Dayna Roselli: Yeah, you go into like a speakeasy lounge, it's not huge in there, which I love, but it's big enough.
- 14:30Dayna Roselli: And you feel like you've kind of walked into this little, you know, kind of back in the day, but still modern uh place where everyone's hanging out and and you're in this secret spot.
- 14:42Sean McAllister: You are, and the music in there is it's great.
- 14:45Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 14:46Sean McAllister: I know our our our friend Ben Carey is uh part of the house band over there at Caspians, and we saw another friend, Justin Carter, who was up there uh performing for the opening night as well.
- 14:58Sean McAllister: They are both phenomenal, and then of course, Sammy Hagar headlined the night.
- 15:04Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that was cool, right?
- 15:05Dayna Roselli: And and it's called Caspian's Rock and Row.
- 15:08Dayna Roselli: And I said to you, what's row?
- 15:09Dayna Roselli: Because I'm not fancy.
- 15:10Dayna Roselli: And you said caviar.
- 15:11Sean McAllister: Yeah, fish eggs.
- 15:12Dayna Roselli: Fish eggs.
- 15:13Dayna Roselli: So I'm like, okay.
- 15:14Dayna Roselli: But but like you mentioned, the the live music was great, and the people were talking about, you know, some pretty good rock and roll, upbeat music.
- 15:22Dayna Roselli: So then I looked further and I'm like, okay, so it's always gonna have that kind of music.
- 15:27Dayna Roselli: It's right, they're gonna have rock live music.
- 15:31Dayna Roselli: So I like that.
- 15:32Dayna Roselli: It's different.
- 15:33Dayna Roselli: I wouldn't, I didn't expect that because you're like, it's speakeasy and it's you know, couches, and yeah, but then it's like, okay, and we're gonna hear some rock and roll.
- 15:42Sean McAllister: Right.
- 15:42Sean McAllister: So I stepped outside of the uh speakeasy and went back outside to the lounge when you were still inside, and I got a text from you, and you were like, Oh my god, this band that's performing right now is like one of the best bands that I have ever heard.
- 15:58Dayna Roselli: So good.
- 15:59Sean McAllister: And that was our buddy Ben's band.
- 16:01Dayna Roselli: Yes, and we had just talked to Ben at Jason Al Dean's opening.
- 16:04Sean McAllister: Right.
- 16:04Dayna Roselli: And I didn't notice it was him because he has his head down playing that guitar, his hair was hanging, you know, and I'm like, oh, it is Ben.
- 16:12Dayna Roselli: But I wasn't like paying attention or looking at who it was, you know, and I was like, oh my gosh, yeah.
- 16:16Dayna Roselli: I mean, so they're great.
- 16:17Dayna Roselli: Are they gonna be so when we when we were talking to him?
- 16:19Dayna Roselli: I think he said they're gonna continually be playing there, right?
- 16:22Sean McAllister: Yeah, yeah, they are like the house band, and then there's gonna be uh other uh performers, musicians brought in as well, right?
- 16:31Sean McAllister: But they're gonna be there.
- 16:32Dayna Roselli: And I feel like this music's for everyone.
- 16:34Dayna Roselli: I was standing there with Perez Hilton, you know, the celebrity blogger and gossip columnist, and you know, he's times 10.
- 16:41Dayna Roselli: Perez always elevated, and we had to stop because Perez said, I love this song, and oh my god, they this band is so good.
- 16:49Dayna Roselli: And he had to record it for his, you know, for his coverage because he was like, This is so good, and he loved it, and he was singing the words, and I was like, Yeah, I mean, and then everyone kind of so I mean this is music for everyone, it is great, it really is a great vibe in there.
- 17:03Sean McAllister: By the way, uh I ran into the general manager of Caesars Palace over there, and I found out that uh, you know, there was that barge piece that stuck out into the hallway at Caesar's Palace that had the you know, the woman on the front, like uh like old ships did.
- 17:19Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and they have a couple lamps in there on the um that's like that too.
- 17:24Dayna Roselli: Yeah, whatever.
- 17:25Dayna Roselli: It's like the serpent with the no-shirt.
- 17:27Dayna Roselli: Oh that's what we'll call it.
- 17:28Sean McAllister: That woman who was on the front of the the ship, they have her in storage.
- 17:33Sean McAllister: Oh, good.
- 17:33Sean McAllister: So she may make another appearance somewhere at Caesar's Palace because people would go by and rub the breasts for good luck.
- 17:43Sean McAllister: That was a tradition.
- 17:44Dayna Roselli: That's how you win the slot machine.
- 17:46Sean McAllister: That's how you win.
- 17:47Sean McAllister: That's how you try to win.
- 17:49Dayna Roselli: That's how you try to win.
- 17:51Dayna Roselli: If it works for you, then you think that's the reason that you won.
- 17:53Dayna Roselli: Yeah, exactly.
- 17:54Dayna Roselli: And then you'll be back.
- 17:55Dayna Roselli: Well, I love that.
- 17:56Dayna Roselli: I'm glad that they don't, you know, I would assume they wouldn't get rid of some of those pieces.
- 17:59Dayna Roselli: So it will be interesting to see because it didn't light up, so it can't go to the neon boneyard.
- 18:03Sean McAllister: No, it can't.
- 18:04Sean McAllister: But um But they can hang her somewhere.
- 18:06Dayna Roselli: Yeah, they could.
- 18:07Dayna Roselli: So we'll see.
- 18:08Dayna Roselli: All right, I love that.
- 18:08Dayna Roselli: Hey, wanted to point out the row part, uh, the caviar.
- 18:12Dayna Roselli: So, so the the bartenders are great.
- 18:14Dayna Roselli: They have the sidebar, um, but also they have a caviar menu.
- 18:17Dayna Roselli: So we're talking rock and row literally.
- 18:20Dayna Roselli: And I was glanced at the menu, and you know how I glanced, by the way, I looked at the Vegas Near Me app.
- 18:25Dayna Roselli: They've already updated.
- 18:26Dayna Roselli: Uh, if you want to get the Vegas Near Me app, it's free.
- 18:28Dayna Roselli: They also sponsor the podcast, but we love all the information.
- 18:31Dayna Roselli: I went in and I typed in Caspians and clicked on the menu.
- 18:36Dayna Roselli: And so they do have everything.
- 18:38Dayna Roselli: They have caviar bumps, caviar lobster rolls, oysters on the half shell with a caviar bump, caviar tacos.
- 18:46Dayna Roselli: So it's a whole thing.
- 18:48Sean McAllister: I had a caviar, I had a caviar bump and a caviar double egg.
- 18:53Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that was good.
- 18:54Dayna Roselli: Yep.
- 18:54Dayna Roselli: I remember we had those together.
- 18:56Sean McAllister: And maybe a little taco.
- 18:57Sean McAllister: I think I had one of the little tacos too.
- 18:59Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 18:59Dayna Roselli: I did see there's a reservation link there on the site.
- 19:02Dayna Roselli: So you might, if you want to like go in and do the caviar thing, you might want to make a reservation.
- 19:06Dayna Roselli: I did try and find to see because I was curious.
- 19:08Dayna Roselli: Is there like a cover charge?
- 19:10Dayna Roselli: But I didn't find one.
- 19:11Dayna Roselli: So I think it's just if you do the reservation and you're gonna do ordering and you want to sit with a group or two of you, you want to might maybe make sure that you have a spot.
- 19:20Dayna Roselli: So go on to the website and and do that.
- 19:23Dayna Roselli: But yeah, I think it's gonna do great.
- 19:25Dayna Roselli: I'm excited to go back and sit and chill and watch that band.
- 19:28Sean McAllister: Agreed.
- 19:28Dayna Roselli: Sammy was great as well.
- 19:29Dayna Roselli: Sammy's just everywhere lately, but he's got a residency coming up too.
- 19:33Sean McAllister: Over at uh at Park MGM at Dolby Live.
- 19:36Sean McAllister: Right.
- 19:36Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 19:37Dayna Roselli: We also mentioned quickly on a podcast that we went to see Villa 66, a new suite at Resorts World.
- 19:42Dayna Roselli: And we know that you know what?
- 19:45Dayna Roselli: Even if you can't stay in the suite, everyone likes to know what it looks like, what it's like.
- 19:51Dayna Roselli: Well, and and so we actually did an interview when we were there at Resorts World, and we're like, ah, we should share this because people like to know the details.
- 19:58Dayna Roselli: We also went to the palaces, which describe that for us, Sean.
- 20:02Sean McAllister: Okay, so there are a few of these palaces over at Resorts World.
- 20:07Sean McAllister: They're up to 15,000 square feet of indoor-outdoor space.
- 20:13Sean McAllister: Uh, I mean, full it's essentially like walking into a house.
- 20:18Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 20:19Sean McAllister: A house away from home, but you have this whole outdoor, you have a pool, you have a patio area, you have palm trees, they can bring in private chefs to do a dinner, put a spread outside.
- 20:32Sean McAllister: I mean, they are nice.
- 20:35Dayna Roselli: They're nice.
- 20:36Dayna Roselli: And we got to go inside, which is rare, and we got to see Villa 66.
- 20:41Dayna Roselli: So while we were there at this party, we said, hey, Shannon McCallum, vice president of hotel operations, come talk to us about these suites and how exclusive they are and why you have them.
- 20:54Dayna Roselli: And so we did just that.
- 20:55SPEAKER_01: Well, you know, Villa 66 was something that has been under development for a little while because it was vacant until this time.
- 21:03SPEAKER_01: It was built at the time that we opened the hotel, but we never really opened it up.
- 21:08SPEAKER_01: And this is really to focus on our casino guests and those guests that are looking for something a bit more exciting that is out of the ordinary.
- 21:17SPEAKER_01: We are very luxurious as a property, and you can see it with the palace that we have here.
- 21:22SPEAKER_01: But Villa 66 is an exciting location where you can come and gather as a group, you can plug in a DJ.
- 21:30SPEAKER_01: It has special lighting that has been put in the suite that can really give you that party atmosphere, high up in the clouds, looking over the strip.
- 21:40SPEAKER_01: So it really is an amazing new offering for us here at the property.
- 21:43SPEAKER_01: And it is important to have these offerings, right?
- 21:46Dayna Roselli: I mean, I don't think people realize that if you don't have something that a certain group wants that's coming in and wants to spend some money, they'll go somewhere else.
- 21:54SPEAKER_01: Absolutely, everybody's looking for a different experience, and I think that this is such a great addition to the luxury.
- 22:00SPEAKER_01: Suites that we already have.
- 22:01SPEAKER_01: Again, the view is just spectacular, looking from the north end of the strip.
- 22:06SPEAKER_01: And our guests have this exciting experience that they can then gather together and really bring people together in such a beautiful location with luxurious surroundings.
- 22:18SPEAKER_01: And um, the palace is something that's been here.
- 22:20SPEAKER_01: Tell me where we're standing now.
- 22:22SPEAKER_01: Tell us about this.
- 22:23SPEAKER_01: Well, palaces that we have here at Resorts World are very unique because they have outdoor spaces.
- 22:29SPEAKER_01: In Las Vegas, that is something that people are looking for to spend time out in the beautiful weather.
- 22:35SPEAKER_01: And our palaces that you see here behind us have pools.
- 22:39SPEAKER_01: We have three palaces.
- 22:40SPEAKER_01: Two of them are three bedrooms, one is the four-bedroom.
- 22:44SPEAKER_01: Up to 15,000 square feet of space indoor and outdoor.
- 22:48SPEAKER_01: We can have chefs brought in and do outdoor meals.
- 22:51SPEAKER_01: It really is a special location.
- 22:53SPEAKER_01: And for those notable guests that will stay with us, it gives them the privacy that they need in order to be able to enjoy themselves in luxury.
- 23:01SPEAKER_01: But still feel like they're in Vegas.
- 23:03SPEAKER_01: Absolutely.
- 23:03SPEAKER_01: They're part of everything.
- 23:04SPEAKER_01: They can step outside of their room and have everything that Vegas has to offer.
- 23:08SPEAKER_01: But here they can relax and enjoy themselves.
- 23:12SPEAKER_01: You guys have been open how many years now?
- 23:13SPEAKER_01: It's 2025.
- 23:14Dayna Roselli: What are you doing?
- 23:15Dayna Roselli: 2021.
- 23:15Dayna Roselli: Three and a half years.
- 23:16SPEAKER_01: Three and a half years we've been open.
- 23:18SPEAKER_01: So when it's gone like this, it really has.
- 23:20SPEAKER_01: And it's exciting to see how we're continuing to evolve at the property and bring these new offerings into place.
- 23:27Sean McAllister: And by the way, I love that uh Villa 66 has an Alaskan king bed.
- 23:34Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 23:34Dayna Roselli: Wasn't that cool?
- 23:36Sean McAllister: That is extra long because they say when NBA players come to town, a lot of times their feet hang over the edge of the bed.
- 23:43Sean McAllister: So these Alaskan king beds can accommodate extra tall people.
- 23:48Dayna Roselli: Which, you know, we have a lot of in Las Vegas.
- 23:51Dayna Roselli: Because we have a lot of sporting events and a lot of teams that come in.
- 23:54Dayna Roselli: I mean, even that whole, I don't know how tall rugby players are.
- 23:57Dayna Roselli: Remember they had that whole rugby team come in for the well, I mean they're all the rugby teams to come in for the tournament, and they were big guys.
- 24:04Sean McAllister: They're like six foot easy plus.
- 24:07Sean McAllister: Six foot plus.
- 24:08Sean McAllister: They're big.
- 24:09Sean McAllister: They're giant people.
- 24:10Dayna Roselli: Well, they were staying at resorts world, and now they have Alaskan King beds for them.
- 24:15Sean McAllister: And speaking of sports, Dana, we see a lot taking place over at Allegiance Stadium.
- 24:20Sean McAllister: Not only sports, but entertainment.
- 24:23Sean McAllister: Uh we have uh the WWE is bringing WrestleMania to Las Vegas over at Allegiance Stadium this spring.
- 24:32Sean McAllister: And uh Allegiant has uh really done a great job at solidifying itself as one of the premier entertainment venues really anywhere in the world.
- 24:44Dayna Roselli: Yeah, they earned the title this year, well, last year, 2024, um, of Top Stadium in the United States.
- 24:51Dayna Roselli: Isn't that cool?
- 24:52Dayna Roselli: And the number two stadium worldwide for live events.
- 24:56Dayna Roselli: This is all according to Billboard Magazine's 2024 year-end report.
- 25:01Dayna Roselli: So congratulations on that.
- 25:03Dayna Roselli: I mean, just in 2024 alone, they had the Rolling Stones, Morgan Wallin, Pink, Billy Jolen Sting, George Strait.
- 25:12Dayna Roselli: Then you talk about, you know, the Super Bowl and uh so many other tournaments.
- 25:18Dayna Roselli: So, like I mentioned, the National Rugby League, um, they had the the Las Vegas Bowl with USC versus Texas and AM, and that was like sold out, right?
- 25:26Sean McAllister: Oh, huge.
- 25:27Dayna Roselli: Huge.
- 25:28Dayna Roselli: So anyway, it's a great stadium, and kudos to Allegiant here in Las Vegas.
- 25:32Dayna Roselli: It's still new, but we still are award-winning.
- 25:36Dayna Roselli: All right, quick message from Level Up Law.

- 26:09Sean McAllister: All right, let's get to tips now.
- 26:13Sean McAllister: And this week, Dana, we start in downtown Las Vegas in the arts district where a new bar has just opened up.
- 26:20Sean McAllister: It's called Petite Bohème, and it's brought to us by the James Beard award-winning chef James Trees, who also owns Esther's Kitchen, which is in the arts district as well, just a few blocks north of Petite Bohème on Main Street.
- 26:38Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 26:39Dayna Roselli: So this place, I ran into uh one of the partners, Michael McGraw, a longtime friend of mine, when I was at Piero's on New Year's Eve, and he said, You gotta come see the new bar because people are lining up outside before it even opens at 4 p.m.
- 26:51Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 26:51Dayna Roselli: It's open 4 p.m.
- 26:53Dayna Roselli: to 2 a.m.
- 26:54Dayna Roselli: Uh, brand new.
- 26:55Dayna Roselli: And when you walk in, it's really cool.
- 26:58Dayna Roselli: They have original street art in there, eclectic wicker and velveteen seating.
- 27:04Dayna Roselli: It has vintage Parisian rugs and accents.
- 27:07Dayna Roselli: So it's it's really beautiful and very unique.
- 27:10Sean McAllister: And uh Petite Boehm is actually part of uh a broader project.
- 27:17Sean McAllister: They're eventually, uh, pretty soon actually, they're going to be opening Bar Bowm, which is going to be a restaurant and bar that is attached to Petite Boehm.
- 27:28Dayna Roselli: And they also do have outdoor seating, because I know people like to know that with these like pretty like accented strings of cafe lights.
- 27:34Dayna Roselli: They have heaters.
- 27:35Dayna Roselli: About 40 people fit inside, 30 outside.
- 27:38Dayna Roselli: So it is petite, which is a great little intimate space, and it sounds like a great a great bar.
- 27:46Dayna Roselli: So we're gonna get over there um soon.
- 27:48Dayna Roselli: Can't wait to check it out.
- 27:50Dayna Roselli: I hear nothing but great things.
- 27:51Dayna Roselli: So FYI, if you're in Las Vegas, you live here, or you're in town to visit, go check out this latest edition to the Arts District.
- 28:00Sean McAllister: Well, we know that Super Bowl 58 was hosted here in Las Vegas last year.
- 28:05Sean McAllister: This year the game is moving down to New Orleans, but Las Vegas is still the place to be for Super Bowl if you're not actually at the game.
- 28:17Sean McAllister: And there are so many places offering viewing options.
- 28:21Dayna Roselli: Yeah, you know, it's always been that way, right?
- 28:23Dayna Roselli: Because people love to come in and watch the games and so um just uh this is like literally like a dot of the amount of things that there are to do.
- 28:31Dayna Roselli: But I just wanted to point out some things you might want to make reservations for now.
- 28:35Dayna Roselli: You gotta do it early.
- 28:37Dayna Roselli: The Hyper X arena at Luxor is showing the game and having their own special thing in there.
- 28:43Dayna Roselli: You gotta make reservations, grab a ticket.
- 28:45Dayna Roselli: Um, Old Red is doing year two on the strip and having the Super Bowl party.
- 28:50Dayna Roselli: It wasn't it last year, it was like one of their first big things.
- 28:53Sean McAllister: Well, I think it was just before they opened because I think Blake Shelton actually may have had a private viewing party inside Old Red, or there was a private party in there.
- 29:06Sean McAllister: Um, but yes, Old Red is great.
- 29:09Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 29:09Sean McAllister: Three levels of viewing with a massive screen right in the middle.
- 29:13Sean McAllister: Good spot.
- 29:14Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and I think I um when I was reading about it, which I think we're talking about in the TV show as well, is that they're gonna do live music in the morning and then they're making sure to pause the live music so that all three levels can enjoy and watch the game.
- 29:27Sean McAllister: Oh, good.
- 29:27Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and then they'll bring the live music back once the game ends.
- 29:30Dayna Roselli: So don't feel like, oh, it's a live music venue, I won't be able to hear the game.
- 29:34Dayna Roselli: No, you will.
- 29:35Dayna Roselli: So they're doing that.
- 29:36Dayna Roselli: Fountain Blue is doing something at Live and at the Tavern.
- 29:39Dayna Roselli: And then the downtown Las Vegas Event Center is bringing back the biggest big game bash, and that is actually free.
- 29:47Dayna Roselli: You have to be 21 and over.
- 29:50Dayna Roselli: And they basically transform that outdoor venue there into this football haven.
- 29:54Dayna Roselli: Um, they have like uh game day experiences, premium access, they have man caves out there and an all-new ultimate end zone experience.
- 30:06Dayna Roselli: For that, you might want to get more details because I think there are some like different levels.
- 30:11Dayna Roselli: Like if you did wanna uh like up your game, um, but go to DLVC.com backslash event, and you'll see the biggest big game bash 2025 page on there with all the details.
- 30:27Dayna Roselli: So lots of stuff going on.
- 30:29Dayna Roselli: The list goes on and on.
- 30:30Dayna Roselli: Just we say it every year.
- 30:32Dayna Roselli: You gotta book ahead.
- 30:33Sean McAllister: And something else that's cool, uh, Allegiant Stadium is taking part in a a nationwide uh essentially fan fest.
- 30:42Sean McAllister: There are 29 NFL cities across the country that are taking part in this uh Verizon fan fest, and as part of that, you can actually watch the Super Bowl inside Allegiant Stadium.
- 30:55Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that's cool.
- 30:56Dayna Roselli: Why not?
- 30:57Sean McAllister: I mean, that's pretty cool.
- 30:59Sean McAllister: Where it was hosted last year, be in there.
- 31:02Sean McAllister: You can't get more of a football vibe to watch the biggest game in football.
- 31:06Dayna Roselli: Well, and the number one venue in America, and the number two in the world.
- 31:10Sean McAllister: So come here and go to Allegiant Stadium.
- 31:13Dayna Roselli: So should we make our predictions?
- 31:14Dayna Roselli: Who's gonna be in the Super Bowl?
- 31:16Sean McAllister: Oh my gosh.
- 31:17Dayna Roselli: I know my dad would love it to be Bill's Lions because that's what he's got on the game.
- 31:21Sean McAllister: I think Bill's Lions is a good bet.
- 31:24Sean McAllister: Is a a good bet.
- 31:25Dayna Roselli: Bill's Lions.
- 31:27Sean McAllister: Sure, let's go Bill's Lions.
- 31:28Dayna Roselli: Bill's Lions, why not?
- 31:30Dayna Roselli: I mean, listen, odds are the Chiefs will probably make it there.
- 31:34Dayna Roselli: They're really good as usual, but maybe not this year.
- 31:38Dayna Roselli: I'm I'm I would love the Lions.
- 31:41Sean McAllister: The Lions to wait it's it's time for them to do something.
- 31:44Dayna Roselli: And people might say to me, What?
- 31:46Dayna Roselli: You're from Buffalo.
- 31:47Dayna Roselli: Well, we're from Rochester, an hour away from Buffalo.
- 31:50Dayna Roselli: I do like Buffalo.
- 31:51Sean McAllister: And we always have layovers in Detroit.
- 31:53Sean McAllister: So True.
- 31:55Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 31:55Dayna Roselli: Either one.
- 31:56Dayna Roselli: I I'm all for either.
- 31:58Dayna Roselli: I mean, one of those would be nice.
- 31:59Dayna Roselli: It's been a while, right?
- 32:00Sean McAllister: It has been.
- 32:01Sean McAllister: It's been it has been.
- 32:02Sean McAllister: Bill's Lions, I think, would be a good game.
- 32:04Dayna Roselli: Speaking of, we gotta go because we're late to an illumination of last year's Super Bowl sign that was up downtown, is illuminating uh today.
- 32:13Dayna Roselli: We're shooting on a what's today?
- 32:15Dayna Roselli: Tuesday.
- 32:15Dayna Roselli: Um, we're filming on it, we're recording on a Tuesday, and uh, they're about to illuminate the old Super Bowl sign at the Neon Museum.
- 32:22Dayna Roselli: And Sean and I are heading there, and I just got a calendar alert that we're late.
- 32:26Sean McAllister: Yeah, I got the same one.
- 32:27Sean McAllister: So it's time to get on the road, say goodbye, and we'll talk to you next week.
- 32:30Dayna Roselli: Have a great week, everybody.
