Today, I thought we'd stay at the park but look up a little. Luna: Oh? What do you mean? Lucas: See that person over there? They're flying a kite. 放風箏. Luna: 放風箏. That's flying a kite. Lucas: Exactly. 放 means to fly or to release, and 風箏 is kite. Together, 放風箏. Luna: So 放風箏 is the verb phrase. And the thing itself is 風箏. Lucas: Yes. Let's say it together. 風箏. Luna: 風箏. Lucas: And the kite is going really high. 好高. Luna: 好高. So 好 means very, and 高 is high. 好高. Lucas: Perfect. So if you want to say I want to fly a kite, you say 我想放風箏. Luna: 我想放風箏. Lucas: Great. And if you want to ask someone if they've flown a kite before, you can say 你放過風箏未啊？ Luna: That's a bit long. Break it down? Lucas: Sure. 你 is you. 放過 means have flown. 風箏 is kite. 未啊 is like yet. Then I ask, 你放過風箏未啊？ Lucas: Yes, I have. 我放過. And I point to the kite and say, 個風箏好高. Luna: 個風箏好高. The kite is very high. Lucas: Right. Now let's practice swapping roles. You point to the kite. Luna: 我想放風箏. Lucas: And I ask, 你放過風箏未啊？ Luna: 未啊，我未放過. Not yet, I haven't flown one. Lucas: Oh, then let's fly one together! 一齊放風箏啦！ Luna: 一齊放風箏啦！Let's fly a kite together.
