- 0:06Speaker 1: What's up, everybody. This is Gil. He listen. I've just
- 0:08Speaker 1: found this word online about fasting and the importance of it.
- 0:13Speaker 1: And at some point you wonder in your life why
- 0:16Speaker 1: something has failed or why something is you're having struggles
- 0:21Speaker 1: in this particular area, and this guy explains why that happens.
- 0:26Speaker 1: And he says that, and the way he explains it
- 0:29Speaker 1: is that your professional, your personal life, all the aspects
- 0:33Speaker 1: of your life as the advance forward. If your spiritual
- 0:37Speaker 1: life is not advancing at the same time, then God
- 0:41Speaker 1: will disallow all this physical, the physical mental part of
- 0:47Speaker 1: your life to lag behind because He wants your spiritual
- 0:50Speaker 1: life to advance first. And as your spiritual life advances,
- 0:55Speaker 1: your personal, professional, every other part of your life will
- 0:59Speaker 1: keep up. So this was a great way to explain fasting.
- 1:02Speaker 1: I've never understood it in that manner, and it makes
- 1:06Speaker 1: a lot of sense for me, being a person who's
- 1:08Speaker 1: just constantly searching for God, searching for or trying to
- 1:12Speaker 1: build a relationship with Jesus, trying to bring the Holy
- 1:15Speaker 1: Spirit into my life. So anyway, this is my gift
- 1:17Speaker 1: to you for today. Please listen to it, let me
- 1:19Speaker 1: know what you're thinking the thoughts later, The.
- 1:22Speaker 2: Second key is fasting. The scripture says, and she did
- 1:26Speaker 2: not eat. Now, I gotta give it to you. The
- 1:28Speaker 2: Bible does not say that she fasted. It just says
- 1:30Speaker 2: she did not eat. And they didn't say in here
- 1:33Speaker 2: because she believed for a miracle.
- 1:35Speaker 3: She did not eat because she was so broken.
- 1:37Speaker 2: She did not eat because she was so hungry for
- 1:39Speaker 2: God to give her an answer.
- 1:41Speaker 3: And that's what fasting is.
- 1:43Speaker 2: The season of fasting that we are in right now,
- 1:45Speaker 2: the twenty one day Fast.
- 1:46Speaker 3: I want to invite you.
- 1:47Speaker 2: If you have not participated in this, or you have
- 1:50Speaker 2: never participated in fasting, or you brushed it up and
- 1:52Speaker 2: you said that's just not for me, I.
- 1:54Speaker 3: Want to encourage you to take time to fast.
- 1:57Speaker 2: If you cannot do a full fast, meaning you're upstate
- 2:00Speaker 2: completely from food, you know, do a partial fast, do
- 2:03Speaker 2: a fast way you eat once a day or once
- 2:05Speaker 2: in three days. Do something for the next two weeks. Why,
- 2:09Speaker 2: Because it's a key. Jesus says, this kind will not leave.
- 2:14Speaker 2: By prayer and by fasting. There are certain kinds of doors,
- 2:19Speaker 2: there are certain kind of challenges, There are certain kind
- 2:22Speaker 2: of levels in God for you and for me that
- 2:25Speaker 2: cannot be accessed. God is not the problem. He closed
- 2:30Speaker 2: it not because he's trying to say you're not welcome
- 2:32Speaker 2: in this level of your life. He closed it not
- 2:35Speaker 2: because he's saying you don't deserve this level in your life.
- 2:38Speaker 3: He closed it not because he's.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Saying, you know what, you're not educated enough, you're not
- 2:43Speaker 2: connected enough. God closed it because God doesn't want you
- 2:47Speaker 2: to arrive here without your spiritual life rising up. So
- 2:51Speaker 2: he placed keys inside of you and inside of me,
- 2:53Speaker 2: and he's like, when you make your spiritual life your
- 2:56Speaker 2: best life, I will cause that to open.
- 2:59Speaker 3: Access to I've closed in your life.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Come on, somebody, I'm feeling like pleaching. I want to
- 3:06Speaker 2: challenge you to take time to fast. Now do you
- 3:09Speaker 2: have to fast? Of course you don't. You also don't
- 3:12Speaker 2: have to eat.
- 3:14Speaker 3: That's the amazing part. You get to eat and you
- 3:17Speaker 3: get too fast.
- 3:18Speaker 2: You get too fast, and fasting helps us to humble
- 3:23Speaker 2: ourselves before God. Fasting is more than abstaining from food.
- 3:26Speaker 2: It's also leads us into godly living.
- 3:29Speaker 3: We should.
- 3:29Speaker 2: You know the quote that was circling online and it
- 3:32Speaker 2: is definitely by people who usually don't fast. You know,
- 3:34Speaker 2: if you're fasting and gossiping. Go ahead and eat, and
- 3:37Speaker 2: I'll give you a better version. If you're fasting and gossiping,
- 3:40Speaker 2: go ahead and stop gossiping.
- 3:43Speaker 3: Come on, somebody, amen.
- 3:45Speaker 2: If you're fasting and you're nasty, stop being nasty. In
- 3:49Speaker 2: Isaiah fifty eight, God did not say, if you're fasting
- 3:51Speaker 2: and your pointing finger, stop fasting.
- 3:52Speaker 3: He is a stop pointing fingers, and said all of.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Us have certain levels among goddliness, and that we need
- 3:58Speaker 2: to get cleansed and delivered from and that's why we
- 4:00Speaker 2: are fastest. Say Lord, expose me, Lord, deliver me, Lord
- 4:03Speaker 2: set me free. Fast thing is not to move God,
- 4:05Speaker 2: but fast thing is to move me to the place
- 4:07Speaker 2: where God can use me and God can speak to me.
- 4:10Speaker 2: And that's exactly what happened to Hannah. The Bible says
- 4:12Speaker 2: that she did not eat, and then later on when
- 4:14Speaker 2: she received a prophetic word from Eli.
- 4:17Speaker 3: Then she went. She was happy and she ate.
- 4:21Speaker 2: So this thing she did, God closed something and she
- 4:25Speaker 2: opened it with her fasting. You may say so, God
- 4:29Speaker 2: sometimes will allow that. You have to understand, God is
- 4:33Speaker 2: far more interested in our spiritual growth than in our
- 4:35Speaker 2: financial growth, with relationship growth and of every other growth
- 4:40Speaker 2: and whatever God can do to provoke, whatever God can
- 4:42Speaker 2: do to invite, to entice and to draw that out
- 4:45Speaker 2: of us, God will do.
- 4:47Speaker 3: May this year be your best year spiritually. May this
- 4:50Speaker 3: year be your best your spiritually. May you don't brag
- 4:54Speaker 3: about what you did for God.
- 4:55Speaker 2: Twenty years ago, five years ago, six years yeah, like
- 4:59Speaker 2: you know a long time I fasted? No, no, no, Make
- 5:01Speaker 2: this be the year. Oh there was a time I
- 5:04Speaker 2: remember I went to prayer.
- 5:06Speaker 3: No, no, no. May this be last week that you did that. Oh,
- 5:09Speaker 3: I remember there was a time I told somebody about
- 5:11Speaker 3: my faith like I was twenty years ago. I was
- 5:14Speaker 3: so bold.
- 5:15Speaker 2: What happened to you? May this be the year when
- 5:18Speaker 2: you were bold for Christ? And for that to happen,
- 5:21Speaker 2: we have to use the keys. The first key is prayer.
- 5:24Speaker 2: The second key is fasting. If you are fasting, I
- 5:28Speaker 2: want to encourage you. You want third in already two
- 5:31Speaker 2: thirds left. You know what fasting helps us with is
- 5:36Speaker 2: to develop a hunger for God. Like you even sense
- 5:39Speaker 2: in the room today there's less of us than maybe
- 5:41Speaker 2: we're there last Sunday. But when you get hungry people together,
- 5:45Speaker 2: we're hungry physically and then we're hungry spiritually, like we
- 5:50Speaker 2: pull on Heaven, come on somebody like they pull, we pull.
- 5:54Speaker 2: And a lot of times we come into church and
- 5:55Speaker 2: we're like man pastors not annointed.
- 5:57Speaker 3: Maybe we're just not hungry.
- 6:00Speaker 2: The worship team, they're just not annoying too loud. The
- 6:02Speaker 2: moment you're complaining and you're too picky, it's usually a sign.
- 6:06Speaker 3: You're not hungry.
- 6:07Speaker 2: My mama always told me when I criticized her food,
- 6:10Speaker 2: she just says, you're not hungry. So if you've been
- 6:14Speaker 2: coming to hungry Jen and at Hungry Jen, you're saying
- 6:16Speaker 2: that you're not getting anything, maybe.
- 6:19Speaker 3: Perhaps I'm not pointing finger. Perhaps maybe what if the.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Problem is not with hungry Jen, Because when you're hungry,
- 6:27Speaker 2: you pull on the anointing. When you're hungry, you pull
- 6:30Speaker 2: on worship. When you're hungry, you pull from other believers
- 6:33Speaker 2: that pray for me. I need healing. It could be
- 6:35Speaker 2: an anybody in this room, and God will manifest his healing.
- 6:38Speaker 2: When Hannah was hungry, she pulled the anointing off of Eli.
- 6:43Speaker 2: He didn't have any anointing. Eli was corrupt. God judged Eli.
- 6:49Speaker 2: How could she pull a prophetic word? Because when you're hungry,
- 6:53Speaker 2: you'll get yourself a word. When you're hungry, you pull
- 6:56Speaker 2: on the annointing. Come on somebody.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Wow right, isn't that amazing? So that's just my gift
- 7:21Speaker 1: to you for today, the importance of fasting. Guys, let
- 7:24Speaker 1: me know what you think.
