- 0:23Whoa, hey guys, good evening, it is John
- 0:26C.
- 0:27Morley here, serial entrepreneur.
- 0:28Today's March 3rd, it is, yes, Tuesday all
- 0:34day.
- 0:35It's great to be with you here on

- 0:38finishing up some other things, and I have
- 0:41a great show for you tonight, as always.
- 0:44The book is coming a lot closer than
- 0:48everyone thought, but it's very, very close.
- 0:52We're going to have one more chapter to
- 0:53go, and then I believe we have proofing,
- 0:55and we're done.
- 0:57So, really excited.
- 0:59The chapter that I'm working on now, and
- 1:01then one more chapter, it's A Day in
- 1:02the Life of John, so it's kind of
- 1:04a neat chapter about what I do and
- 1:06stuff like that.
- 1:07And so it's really cool, but I do
- 1:10want to encourage you, if you are new
- 1:12here, first I want to welcome you and
- 1:14thank you for joining me.
- 1:15If you have been here many times before,
- 1:17well, of course, welcome back, it's always great
- 1:18to have people back.
- 1:20We are working on our new website, JCM
- 1:23Academy, that'll be coming, so that's going to
- 1:25be like the home of where Inspirations for
- 1:27Your Life lives.
- 1:28J.
- 1:28Moore and J.
- 1:29Moore Tech Talk Show has, you know, its
- 1:33own website, but now JCM Academy is going
- 1:36to be the home for Inspirations for Your
- 1:39Life, and of course, all the other things
- 1:40like coaching, keynote speaking, and things like that.
- 1:43I know it's been a long time in
- 1:45the planning, but it's finally starting to turn
- 1:48its gears.
- 1:49We're hoping to have everything resolved probably before
- 1:51the end of the month, probably by April
- 1:531st or so, we'll probably have the site
- 1:54up.
- 1:55That's no April Fool's joke, by the way.
- 1:57All right, so if you have not checked
- 1:59out BelieveMeAchieved.com, what are you waiting for?
- 2:02Go check that out right away after the
- 2:04show is over, that is, not now.
- 2:05And yeah, you can get my short-form
- 2:09content, my long-form content, all kinds of
- 2:13other great stuff, like articles, reels, and so
- 2:16much more.
- 2:18All right, so let's kick this show off.
- 2:21Are you ready?
- 2:22I know I am.
- 2:23All right.
- 2:24It's Inspirations for Your Life.
- 2:25In case you guys didn't know that, the
- 2:27whole topic that we're mastering this week is
- 2:30owning your choices, clarity, courage, and calmness.
- 2:35Tuesday, today, March 3rd, we're all about focus,
- 2:40prioritization, and clarity.
- 2:42Oh, who am I?
- 2:43Sure.
- 2:43I'm John C.
- 2:44Morley, serial entrepreneur, engineer, marketing specialist, video producer,
- 2:48podcast host, coach, keynote speaker, graduate student, and
- 2:51a passionate lifelong learner.
- 2:54Yes, ladies and gentlemen, and it's great to
- 2:56be with you here.
- 2:57And pretty soon, a published author, so really
- 3:00excited about that.
- 3:00All right, so today, I'm diving into how
- 3:06focus, prioritization, and clarity convert your intention to
- 3:12measurable results, right, the ROI, and also protect
- 3:16your energy, because I think that's a problem.
- 3:17A lot of people will get somewhere, but
- 3:18then they lose their energy and create this
- 3:22unstoppable momentum that you're going to be so
- 3:24proud of, all right?
- 3:27So focus, ladies and gentlemen, turns intention into
- 3:31measurable results, okay?
- 3:33It doesn't just happen by, you know, snapping
- 3:36your fingers or clapping your hands or yelling.
- 3:39It doesn't happen like that.
- 3:41It happens by purposeful intention, just like myself
- 3:45writing this book.
- 3:46The book didn't just happen.
- 3:47The book happened because of a purposeful intention
- 3:49that I've had for a while, and I
- 3:52said, I got to write this book.
- 3:53The true story is that I had another
- 3:55book I wanted to write, but I wasn't
- 3:57ready to write that book yet.
- 3:59So I put that book on a back
- 4:01burner, and I started writing this book, which
- 4:03I thought was more important.
- 4:04It's about how 10 years of my life
- 4:07changed my entire life.
- 4:08So you're definitely going to want to read
- 4:10that.
- 4:11The title will be revealed when we make
- 4:13the title public.
- 4:15That'll be happening, that'll be happening like May,
- 4:22no, it'll happen March 1st, actually.
- 4:25March, let's see, March, no, no, no, no,
- 4:28sorry.
- 4:28It'll happen right about middle to late April,
- 4:31sorry, and the book tour will start right
- 4:33around May 1st.
- 4:35That'll be where the book tour starts.
- 4:37So concentration on one key goal multiplies your
- 4:42impact every single day.
- 4:43But the key, guys, is you have to
- 4:45do it over and over and over again.
- 4:48That's a challenge.
- 4:51Prioritization ensures energy is spent on what matters
- 4:55most.
- 4:56Every choice either moves forward with you, or
- 5:00unfortunately, guys, it drains your time and of
- 5:03course, your precious energy.
- 5:05And there's no real way to understand that
- 5:10until you've been part of a situation.
- 5:13And I think it's important that you understand
- 5:18like, you know, what's happening, why things are
- 5:21going a certain way.
- 5:23And I think that's something that a lot
- 5:24of people, for whatever reason, they just get,
- 5:28I don't know, they get stuck in this,
- 5:29they get stuck in this enigma, they don't
- 5:33know what to do or what to say,
- 5:36and they get in this procrastination jail, basically,
- 5:41which is not a good thing, guys.
- 5:43It's not a good thing.
- 5:45So I want to let you know that
- 5:47you have the tools to do what you
- 5:50want to do, but you've got to have
- 5:53the intention to put those tools to use,
- 5:57all right?
- 5:58Clarity, ladies and gentlemen, simplifies tough decisions.
- 6:03Remove the noise in your life, and you'll
- 6:06see the path very clearly unfold before you.
- 6:09Avoid forbidden distractions.
- 6:11Those time-stealing habits sabotage you silently, whether
- 6:16you're aware of it or not.
- 6:19Concentration multiplies effort, impact, deliberate focus amplifies even
- 6:24small actions.
- 6:27Key actions build unstoppable momentum.
- 6:30Start with high-leverage tasks for compounding success.
- 6:36Clear objectives, ladies and gentlemen.
- 6:38They will guide choices, your daily ones.
- 6:43And you know what?
- 6:44Those daily choices are important because it could
- 6:47turn the overwhelming things that you may have
- 6:49in your life into actionable steps, and I
- 6:52think that's a really important one that a
- 6:56lot of people don't realize, is that when
- 6:59we get overwhelmed, it's like, oh my gosh,
- 7:01where do I go from here?
- 7:02What do I do from here?
- 7:04And I know that that can really take
- 7:07a toll on a lot of people, all
- 7:10right?
- 7:11But the key to getting out of all
- 7:13this is, ladies and gentlemen, intention, intention.
- 7:22That's the key, guys.
- 7:23It's intention.
- 7:28And the key is to do it not
- 7:31just once, but continuously.
- 7:34Avoid overcommitting, guys.
- 7:35I know we want to be nice guys
- 7:36and ladies, but we need to realize our
- 7:39own cup needs to be full.
- 7:42Oh, and if you guys are thirsty, I
- 7:43know I didn't tell you this evening, don't
- 7:45forget to get yourself an RL water or
- 7:47a drink or a snack or fruit or
- 7:50something like that.
- 7:51Feel free to do that, all right?
- 7:54Avoid that overcommitment to protect the focus.
- 7:57Say no, it's a strategic advantage, all right?
- 8:00That's important.
- 8:01And laser focus produces exponential progress.
- 8:06Consistency beats intensity every single time, not just
- 8:10once, guys, but every single time.
- 8:13And when we think about this, it's like,
- 8:17how do I be consistent when I'm not?
- 8:22Things around me are falling apart.
- 8:27Well, you look at what you're doing now
- 8:30and you focus on the good in your
- 8:33life, right?
- 8:34That's probably the most important thing.
- 8:36Prioritization, ladies and gentlemen, prevents energy leakage.
- 8:40Misaligned tasks are hidden drains on your productivity.
- 8:45And the thing is, most people don't realize,
- 8:48I talk about this in my book, by
- 8:49the way, most people don't realize that these
- 8:52hidden holes that we have, these taps, I'll
- 8:56call them, they're draining us.
- 9:00And it really doesn't come full circle until
- 9:05either it causes us to shut down by
- 9:07force or forces us to take a rest
- 9:10or something like that, or possibly gets us
- 9:14to see a different light.
- 9:16But many people don't take their body's cue
- 9:22seriously.
- 9:22Oh, I can push it, I can push
- 9:24it, I can push it.
- 9:25What happens in your car if the car
- 9:28is on E?
- 9:29Well, depending on what kind of car you
- 9:31have, you might have 10 miles, you might
- 9:35have 12 miles, you might have three miles,
- 9:38two miles, one mile, or you might have
- 9:41zero miles.
- 9:43Yeah, you're riding on fumes, so that's not
- 9:45good.
- 9:46Clarity, ladies and gentlemen, reduces uncertainty.
- 9:49And confident decisions come from understanding the priorities.
- 9:54What are your priorities in life?
- 9:56Do you know what they are?
- 9:57Or do you constantly get befuddled by, well,
- 10:02I just got to do everything that I
- 10:03have to do, and hopefully everything will catch
- 10:05up.
- 10:06That's not the way to do things, guys.
- 10:10We have to realize that what you're doing,
- 10:15you're doing for you, you're not doing it
- 10:17for other people.
- 10:18Now, when you do something good and you
- 10:20make a change in your life, I got
- 10:21to promise you, other people are going to
- 10:24get curious to say, hey, what are you
- 10:25doing?
- 10:27It's the subtle effect that has more empowerment
- 10:32than, hey, look at me, look at me,
- 10:34look at me.
- 10:35When you're quiet and you have that subtle
- 10:38effect, it changes you.
- 10:42It changes you.
- 10:44Focus routines, guys, strengthen the habits in your
- 10:47life.
- 10:48Repetition creates reliability and it builds a mental
- 10:52muscle, just like I do weights every day.
- 10:55When you focus on something, when you concentrate,
- 11:01when you do something consistently like that, you
- 11:05build your mental muscle.
- 11:07And when your muscles get stronger, they serve
- 11:10you a lot better.
- 11:13Avoid shortcuts, guys, that compromise the success, that
- 11:17you're on the path to attaining.
- 11:20True progress is built, it's not hacked.
- 11:24I know a lot of people that, you
- 11:27know, they see success and then they mock
- 11:32it.
- 11:33You remember, guys, I was talking about a
- 11:35story where I literally went into these Facebook
- 11:38groups and I was just blowing out of
- 11:41the water in them.
- 11:42Now, I don't say this to brag, I
- 11:43say this to let you know what happened.
- 11:46So this one particular group that I was
- 11:47in, I became like the top level, I'm
- 11:51going to say in less than a month
- 11:54or two.
- 11:56It got so bad with the people in
- 11:58the group that they thought I was spamming
- 12:00the group, but I wasn't.
- 12:01I was putting out content that actually educated
- 12:05people and got great interactions.
- 12:07I had 5,000, 10,000, 20,000
- 12:10comments.
- 12:13One person makes a comment to me saying,
- 12:16you know, stop your spam.
- 12:19I messaged them and I say, it's not
- 12:21spam.
- 12:22I said, it's educational posts.
- 12:27And every time I posted, they'd be like,
- 12:29oh, here's another spam post.
- 12:32And I said to him, you know, why
- 12:34don't you post something?
- 12:36He came back to me and says, I
- 12:38do, they don't go anywhere.
- 12:40So the fact that you're jealous that my
- 12:43content is resonating with people, that's not good.
- 12:47You know what he did?
- 12:49He told the admin.
- 12:51I was only there a few months, making
- 12:54a pretty big name for myself.
- 12:57And he was there probably years.
- 12:59I didn't like the fact that my name
- 13:02kept popping up for him.
- 13:05But you know what, guys, you're going to
- 13:06get this in life.
- 13:07You're going to get people that try to
- 13:12get you to act with haste, to act
- 13:20with no integrity, to act because it'll make
- 13:28you less successful.
- 13:30It's pretty bad when people out there are
- 13:34trying to give you help on how to
- 13:37become less successful.
- 13:38I don't know what to say about that,
- 13:40guys.
- 13:41I think that's just downright wrong, right?
- 13:43Downright wrong.
- 13:45But people do it every day.
- 13:50They do it every single day.
- 13:54And that's an important thing to realize, that
- 14:00it happens every single day.
- 14:04You have to be mindful of these things.
- 14:10And you have to understand that your deliberate
- 14:13choices that you make every day in your
- 14:17life, set the benchmarks, plant the pillars for
- 14:26what you're building.
- 14:28And I want to tell you something else.
- 14:31Never stop building.
- 14:33Keep building your entire life.
- 14:36If people tell you that you shouldn't build
- 14:39or people tell you you shouldn't do this
- 14:40or do that, if you're growing and you're
- 14:43helping others, there are a lot of people
- 14:45in this world that unfortunately are, sad to
- 14:48say, jealous.
- 14:50Makes me think of a song.
- 14:52You remember Nick Jonas?
- 14:52Jealous.
- 14:55It just blows my mind how that happens.
- 14:59So I was in this chat with this
- 15:01guy.
- 15:03And I was telling him I've been really
- 15:05busy.
- 15:06I'm working on my master's and my PhD.
- 15:10And he goes, well, and then I have
- 15:13a book coming out.
- 15:13He goes, oh, well, my, okay.
- 15:20So it was like, can you top this?
- 15:24And the sad part was, he was well
- 15:29over a teenager.
- 15:30He was practically even almost an adult, maybe
- 15:32close to my age, maybe a little younger.
- 15:34And that's how we act.
- 15:38That's what social media is about.
- 15:41I think that's the wrong reason for social
- 15:43media.
- 15:43Social media is designed to bring people together.
- 15:48Yeah.
- 15:49Yeah.
- 15:50It's designed to create a culmination.
- 15:56Ladies and gentlemen, these people, whether they're on
- 15:59Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, whatever, you don't get a
- 16:02lot on LinkedIn.
- 16:04You get on LinkedIn is you get the
- 16:06people trying to tell you, oh, I looked
- 16:08at your profile and you know, you're gonna
- 16:11be a great fit.
- 16:12And can you send me your WhatsApp number?
- 16:15Nope, block.
- 16:17Why is it that people on LinkedIn feel
- 16:21they have to pitch you?
- 16:24Don't they know that by doing that, we're
- 16:26gonna click one button and say block?
- 16:29Don't they know that?
- 16:32But they keep pushing.
- 16:35Is it because they don't know?
- 16:38Or is it because they like the feeling
- 16:41of getting rejected?
- 16:43I'm not sure.
- 16:45Attention, ladies and gentlemen, to management is a
- 16:48modern superpower.
- 16:51You know, when I have conversations with a
- 16:52lot of these people on LinkedIn, I never
- 16:56pitch anybody.
- 16:58I listen to the conversation intelligently.
- 17:01I give some feedback.
- 17:02I ask some questions.
- 17:04They might ask some questions back.
- 17:05And I usually respond back with two or
- 17:08three sentences.
- 17:09They might send me a book and I
- 17:10send two or three sentences.
- 17:14I think when your motive is not to
- 17:20dominate, but just to be present, other people
- 17:25become aware of that.
- 17:27And it might go from a stranger to
- 17:32maybe a LinkedIn connection to maybe even somebody
- 17:37who's respected in the industry.
- 17:40Ladies and gentlemen, I wanna tell you right
- 17:42now, guard your mind like it's a rare
- 17:45resource.
- 17:47Because if you don't, people will exploit it.
- 17:51And by exploiting it, they're also gonna take
- 17:54your energy and drain you.
- 17:57Prioritize results, guys, over busyness.
- 17:59I know we want to show we're busy,
- 18:02but who do we need to prove we're
- 18:03busy to?
- 18:04Nobody.
- 18:05Prioritize the results, ROI.
- 18:07Motion is not always progress.
- 18:09Looking busy is not always success.
- 18:12It's an illusion to you and other people,
- 18:17but it's not always success.
- 18:20Clarity allows confident action knowing your why makes
- 18:27the how easier.
- 18:28I love that, guys.
- 18:31If your why can make the how easier,
- 18:33that's an amazing thing.
- 18:38One task, guys, just one task at a
- 18:42time will maximize impact.
- 18:47Multitasking kills momentum.
- 18:48I don't know if you know that.
- 18:49So many companies want you to multitask, but
- 18:52really what you're doing is you're dividing yourself
- 18:55into like a million pieces.
- 18:56And when you do that, you know what
- 18:57happens?
- 18:59You're not giving your undivided attention.
- 19:02I would rather have five minutes of your
- 19:05undivided attention than 40 or 60 minutes of
- 19:09your non-undivided attention.
- 19:13You're probably not even gonna remember what I
- 19:15was talking to you about in that, let's
- 19:18say, 40 minutes.
- 19:19But in that five or 10 minutes of
- 19:21undivided attention, just to me, it's gonna make
- 19:27sense.
- 19:28It's gonna show you the value that I'm
- 19:30trying to offer you.
- 19:32Avoid the mental clutter.
- 19:35It happens everywhere.
- 19:37Personal, business, volunteering.
- 19:40Declutter your mind to focus on what actually
- 19:44matters.
- 19:46Align actions with long-term goals.
- 19:50Small daily decisions compound into destiny.
- 19:56Clarity reduces hesitation.
- 19:58Confident decisions, well, they generate immediate results.
- 20:04When you show confidence, it's not something you
- 20:09brag about.
- 20:11It's a presence that's there that people sense.
- 20:18You're a bit around somebody who, let's say,
- 20:21is very calm, very well-mannered, and respectful,
- 20:27but knowledgeable, but also not trying to raise
- 20:30their voice louder than yours.
- 20:32In fact, when you raise your voice, they
- 20:37lower theirs.
- 20:40Makes you something like, I understand, sir, that
- 20:43you're upset, or I understand, Joe, that you're
- 20:45upset, and I'm here to help if you
- 20:53want my help.
- 20:56So there's no reason you should stand around
- 20:58and get kicked like a punching bag.
- 21:07And what I learned not too long ago
- 21:09is that one of the most precious skills
- 21:12you can have is executive tempering.
- 21:17All right, John, what is tempering?
- 21:20Tempering is holding back with a presence.
- 21:27That's wild.
- 21:29So when somebody sees that I'm tempering a
- 21:32situation, it could be an argument, a disagreement,
- 21:35they don't put as much fuel into it.
- 21:39See, I'm not trying to win an argument.
- 21:41I'm trying to just be present, listen to
- 21:45the other party, share my side.
- 21:47I might win, I might lose, but to
- 21:49me, it's not an argument unless two people
- 21:52are fighting.
- 21:54If one person's saying something, okay, I understand
- 21:58what you're saying, and I'm just curious.
- 22:03I'm sure you have a reason for stating
- 22:06that.
- 22:07What is it, and what makes you feel
- 22:10that way today?
- 22:13They're gonna go bonkers.
- 22:15They're gonna be like, huh?
- 22:17I'm yelling at you and I'm expecting you
- 22:20to, you're expecting me to what?
- 22:26Yell back?
- 22:28I don't do those things.
- 22:30That was stuff I did in high school.
- 22:35I don't do those things anymore.
- 22:39Well, if I'm not gonna argue with you,
- 22:43then how are we gonna get anything settled?
- 22:46Who says we have to settle anything?
- 22:49Who says we even have to be here
- 22:51today?
- 22:54And when you start putting these questions in
- 22:56people's heads, they're like, wait a minute, this
- 23:01is not fun.
- 23:02I'm not getting a rise at this person.
- 23:03I'm pushing their buttons, but they're not reacting,
- 23:07right?
- 23:09When you don't react to someone else's stimuli,
- 23:14they stop pushing.
- 23:15They stop pressing.
- 23:17They start realizing that, hey, I am doing
- 23:22this, but it's not having an effect on
- 23:25this person.
- 23:26It used to, but it's not now.
- 23:29Focused action prevents wasted time.
- 23:34Execution beats endless planning.
- 23:37I know a lot of people that wanna
- 23:38plan forever.
- 23:40The planning procrastinators, right?
- 23:43Avoid distractions.
- 23:45Hijacking attention.
- 23:47Your environment shapes your focus.
- 23:51So if you can be calm, peaceful, someone
- 23:59with intent, you make a difference in your
- 24:03life and everyone else's life.
- 24:06It's not about trying to be the loudest
- 24:10person.
- 24:11No, it's just being present.
- 24:16Prioritization, guys, compounds effectiveness.
- 24:20Stacking high value actions that accelerate your success
- 24:25and hopefully the success of other people.
- 24:28You see, guys, clarity sharpens intuition for complex
- 24:32choices.
- 24:33Clear minds make better calls.
- 24:36Focus prevents regret from missed opportunities.
- 24:41Attention on what matters leaves no room for
- 24:44doubt, guys.
- 24:47Work on aligning your priorities with your core
- 24:51values.
- 24:52When your actions match your values, momentum just
- 24:57becomes effortless and uses basically almost no energy.
- 25:03Clarity ensures consistency in results.
- 25:08See, reliable outcomes come from steady, deliberate effort.
- 25:11Avoid energy-draining shortcuts.
- 25:14Quick fixes often cost more, guys, in the
- 25:18long run.
- 25:20Might seem like you're getting somewhere, but you're
- 25:22really not.
- 25:23Focus effort multiplies outcomes beyond effort alone.
- 25:27Leverage your energy wisely.
- 25:30Prioritization plus clarity, P plus C, create unstoppable
- 25:34progress.
- 25:36The combination of smart choices and decisive action
- 25:39generates compounding momentum.
- 25:42That's a pretty important thing, guys.
- 25:47And as I'm wrapping up here with you
- 25:49guys tonight, remember, focus and clarity.
- 25:55They're not just ideas.
- 25:59They're both actionable choices that you make in
- 26:04your life every single day, every single.
- 26:12So when you make a conscious decision to
- 26:21prioritize intentionally, you protect your energy and you
- 26:31act with deliberate clarity.
- 26:33See, progress compounds quietly, but something happens about
- 26:41the quiet.
- 26:43I had a situation the other day where
- 26:45somebody was a little bit upset because they
- 26:50were doing something wrong.
- 26:54And it's not about pointing out that they're
- 26:56wrong, but it is about getting respect.
- 27:03And I say to people, I understand you're
- 27:05under the gun.
- 27:06I understand you're having a challenge.
- 27:08And I also expect you to act in
- 27:12a professional and courteous manner to me.
- 27:14Otherwise, I'm gonna leave.
- 27:19People go bonkers with that.
- 27:24When you calmly put on your jacket and
- 27:27get ready to leave, they start to get
- 27:30a little nervous.
- 27:30They go, where are you going?
- 27:32Well, I'm gonna leave.
- 27:33There's no point hanging around here with someone
- 27:36just yelling at me.
- 27:41Hopefully that opened your eyes the first time
- 27:43it happens.
- 27:44But the key is not to yell back.
- 27:49No, the key is to deescalate the argument.
- 27:53And it's not an argument if one person
- 27:56is speaking loudly.
- 27:58It's not an argument guys.
- 28:00It's somebody yelling, but an argument takes two
- 28:04people, two people.
- 28:08Remember that guys, it takes two people.
- 28:11Well, this has been fun guys.
