- 0:22Speaker 1: are we.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Going to play the show this week?
- 0:26Speaker 1: So? Man, it's been a lot of amazing things has
- 0:29Speaker 1: happened to me over the years, and not all of
- 0:35Speaker 1: them good. It's been some amazingly bad things that have
- 0:39Speaker 1: happened too. But I just come on in the morning
- 0:42Speaker 1: as a reminder to everybody of the actual goodness of
- 0:47Speaker 1: God that you know, man, that these mistakes that you're making,
- 0:51Speaker 1: that these setbacks that you keep having, that these falls
- 0:56Speaker 1: that keep occurring in your life, that they all leading
- 1:00Speaker 1: you somewhere.
- 1:01Speaker 2: If you just don't ever give up. That's the key.
- 1:05Speaker 1: You can never ever give up because you don't know
- 1:10Speaker 1: how the trip has been laid out for you.
- 1:13Speaker 2: You know, if somebody had told me.
- 1:17Speaker 1: Years ago when I had the dream of being on
- 1:19Speaker 1: TV and then I thought about being a one of
- 1:23Speaker 1: one of the best comedians I could be, you know,
- 1:25Speaker 1: when I when I started if somebody had told me
- 1:29Speaker 1: everything that was gonna have to happen in order for
- 1:33Speaker 1: me to get there, I would have changed it. I
- 1:36Speaker 1: would have I would have said, Okay, well I ain't
- 1:39Speaker 1: gonna be that. How about this? See and no one
- 1:43Speaker 1: can know all of the events of their life ahead
- 1:47Speaker 1: of time. You know, it'd be so nice, wouldn't it.
- 1:49Speaker 1: You know, to prepare for it, see it come, and
- 1:53Speaker 1: be aware of the haters, always knowing when the backstabbing
- 1:58Speaker 1: moment is coming in your life, always knowing when you're
- 2:01Speaker 1: gonna get blindsided by the enemy. Were really great to
- 2:04Speaker 1: know that, wouldn't it. Well, that's not how it works.
- 2:08Speaker 1: So since no one knows exactly the challenges and the
- 2:14Speaker 1: pitfalls and the detours that's gonna beset them, it's it's
- 2:20Speaker 1: it's imperative that you just don't give up. Because see,
- 2:24Speaker 1: knowing these things, we as human beings by nature, would
- 2:31Speaker 1: choose another route. But it ain't the route God God
- 2:34Speaker 1: for you, though. See the route God God for you.
- 2:37Speaker 1: If you if you're trying to do the right thing,
- 2:40Speaker 1: if you're doing the best you can, if you ain't
- 2:43Speaker 1: out here just intentionally just messing over folks, if you
- 2:47Speaker 1: using faith, and that's the belief in things that you
- 2:50Speaker 1: cannot see. If you have something on the inside of
- 2:53Speaker 1: you to keep saying there's got to be more to
- 2:55Speaker 1: life than that, then that's that's you. You, my friend,
- 3:00Speaker 1: have a great chance here. And if you've ever had
- 3:03Speaker 1: that feeling then gave up on it, Just get it back,
- 3:07Speaker 1: Just ask for it back, Just say, hey, man, I'm
- 3:09Speaker 1: getting back to the way I used to be because
- 3:12Speaker 1: there's a change that's available in your life.
- 3:15Speaker 2: But you got to take it. You got to take
- 3:18Speaker 2: a shot at it. Folks.
- 3:19Speaker 1: There's a chance for you to get it right, but
- 3:22Speaker 1: you gotta take a shot at it.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Folks.
- 3:24Speaker 1: There's a chance for you to turn this whole thing
- 3:26Speaker 1: around with God's help, but you gotta take a shot
- 3:30Speaker 1: at it. You see, this decision is yours. The decision
- 3:34Speaker 1: to lay down, to give up, that's yours. It ain't
- 3:37Speaker 1: even just got too hard for me. Life too much, man,
- 3:40Speaker 1: life hard and too much for everybody.
- 3:43Speaker 2: What I got to get you to see?
- 3:45Speaker 1: My father used to always tell me, it says some
- 3:47Speaker 1: best lessons in life, the one your value and learn
- 3:50Speaker 1: the most is about lesson I didn't quite understand that
- 3:54Speaker 1: being young, but I show got it now, ain't no
- 3:58Speaker 1: lesson like a bout lesson you pay for. Those are
- 4:02Speaker 1: the ones that hold to you, that stick to you,
- 4:05Speaker 1: that start turning you into who you're gonna be. Those
- 4:08Speaker 1: are the character builders. See, you got to be forged
- 4:13Speaker 1: to get to where you want to go in life. See,
- 4:15Speaker 1: that's what the challenge is and missteps is for that's
- 4:18Speaker 1: what the failing is about. Now, I know you don't
- 4:20Speaker 1: like it. I didn't. I know you not comfortable with
- 4:23Speaker 1: I wouldn't. I know you wish it was over sooner
- 4:26Speaker 1: than later. I always do. I always want it to
- 4:30Speaker 1: be over sooner than later because the later, Man, it
- 4:33Speaker 1: just seems like it's so much I got to go through.
- 4:37Speaker 1: But let me tell you something, Man, if you can,
- 4:40Speaker 1: if you can forge your way through it and understand
- 4:43Speaker 1: that you are forged in life, I don't know. I
- 4:47Speaker 1: was on TV in one time and I was doing
- 4:49Speaker 1: one of my motivational speeches, and I began to wonder
- 4:55Speaker 1: about this experience I had at Ford Motor Company and
- 4:59Speaker 1: my last job the auto industry started going down. My
- 5:02Speaker 1: last job was in the foundry, and my job was
- 5:06Speaker 1: to stand at the end almost where the engines first
- 5:12Speaker 1: come out of the furnace. See, the engines are poured
- 5:15Speaker 1: into a mold. It's hot, melted down metal whatever they
- 5:19Speaker 1: call it, larva or whatever. They pour it into a
- 5:21Speaker 1: mold and it goes into this furnace that's extremely hot.
- 5:26Speaker 1: And my job was after the heat was applied to
- 5:30Speaker 1: the engine block, it would come through and it would
- 5:35Speaker 1: go through a hardening stage. With the way it was hardening,
- 5:37Speaker 1: they would cool it. Suddenly they would flush.
- 5:40Speaker 2: It with water. It was just blast water on it.
- 5:43Speaker 1: But the fire and the high temperature is what made
- 5:48Speaker 1: the engine block solidify it because it's got to get
- 5:52Speaker 1: real hot, get melted down first.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Then it's got to get poured into a mole.
- 5:57Speaker 1: Then it's got to be pressure hit with water and
- 6:00Speaker 1: all of this and then it and it's real hot.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Now it's still hot even though this water been shatter.
- 6:06Speaker 1: But when it comes out the end of the side,
- 6:08Speaker 1: there's a lot of flashing in it. It flashing is
- 6:11Speaker 1: a metal from that to drip through the cast of
- 6:13Speaker 1: molding on it, just like flex of extra pieces of metal.
- 6:18Speaker 1: My job was to hit this engine block in the front,
- 6:23Speaker 1: which this huge heavy rubber mallet knock all the flashing
- 6:28Speaker 1: off the front and when it came around back to bam,
- 6:32Speaker 1: hit it real hard again on the backside, and that
- 6:36Speaker 1: became the core of what the car is. A car
- 6:40Speaker 1: without a great engine is nothing. It's just a pretty
- 6:43Speaker 1: looking vehicle over there. But if it can't do what
- 6:46Speaker 1: it was made to do because the engine blocked and cracked.
- 6:49Speaker 1: So you can have a car look real good, but
- 6:51Speaker 1: if it freezes an engine block cracked your car, you
- 6:54Speaker 1: could it's over man.
- 6:55Speaker 2: You got to get a new block. The block is
- 6:57Speaker 2: the core.
- 6:58Speaker 1: But in order for you for the car to do
- 7:00Speaker 1: what it's got to do, it's got to have a
- 7:02Speaker 1: strong enginet it. In order for the engine to be strong,
- 7:05Speaker 1: it's got to be forged and steel come through fire,
- 7:08Speaker 1: get poured in a mole, cooled off, heated, knocked around,
- 7:13Speaker 1: beat on the front end, beat on the back end,
- 7:15Speaker 1: and order for it to be what it's gonna be.
- 7:17Speaker 1: The mall of the story, folks, is you got to
- 7:20Speaker 1: get forged in fire to be what you're gonna be.
- 7:24Speaker 1: You got to get beat up, you got to get
- 7:27Speaker 1: pressure washed, you got to have heat on you, you got
- 7:29Speaker 1: to get melted down, you got to get pulled into
- 7:32Speaker 1: a mole, that's how you become who you are. So
- 7:36Speaker 1: the tough things that you're going through, the difficult challenges
- 7:39Speaker 1: and the setbacks. I know a brother who went to prison, ma'am.
- 7:42Speaker 1: And the whole reason he ended up going to prison
- 7:45Speaker 1: because he was looking out the little window, looking out
- 7:47Speaker 1: in the yard at him working out. And then the
- 7:50Speaker 1: next thing you know, man, this brother decided that he
- 7:52Speaker 1: was gonna go out there and work out. Well, guess what,
- 7:55Speaker 1: he's one of the top trainers in country.
- 7:57Speaker 2: Today, he took the Steve Harvey Morning Show
