- 0:00get laced up let's go it's time for banter with
- 0:04the boys welcome back to banter with the boys
- 0:16Fast laps. Here with me this week, our co -host
- 0:20Joe. Welcome back for another show. Obviously,
- 0:23it's your show too, duh. Donning your Williams
- 0:26racing hat, of course, because Carlos will get
- 0:29into it. Viva. Viva, indeed. And then Max Verstappen
- 0:34shirt. I appreciate your commitment to continuing
- 0:38to wear the Max Verstappen shirt when it matters.
- 0:40I'm glad someone appreciates it. I don't. Are
- 0:44you referring to the someone that's not here
- 0:46this evening? He's the one who got it for me.
- 0:48I'm sure he really appreciates seeing me wear
- 0:50it. But it's a sad day when I have to don it.
- 0:54Indeed. Indeed. Especially on a race as such
- 0:59where... One of the papayas did not finish. Anyway,
- 1:02we'll get into it. We'll get into it. Sad day
- 1:04for Joe. Anyway, Mike's not here this week. He's
- 1:07out doing Mike things. He's what? He's at a concert.
- 1:11Oh, sweet. He's at a concert. He's at a concert.
- 1:13Yeah, we had to switch up schedules a little
- 1:15bit, and unfortunately, schedules collided. We're
- 1:17not filming on the same day. But he's here in
- 1:21spirit. I have notes. He's here in his notes.
- 1:23Trust us. He's here in his notes. Don't worry
- 1:27about that. You'll miss nothing. And Kev, behind
- 1:30the cameras, obviously getting everything done
- 1:32for us, as always. So with that, Kev, let's head
- 1:35right into our Azerbaijan GP recap. Oh, we're
- 1:54back. Sorry. Here we are. We're like waiting
- 1:56on you. Bang, bang. Yeah, you're both looking
- 1:58at me. All right. So our pre -race banter, quality
- 2:00practice, yada, yada. But you got any notes,
- 2:04Joe? I mean, it was a pretty hectic weekend.
- 2:08I did not catch practice. Oh. Oh. Oh, no. I made
- 2:14a ton of notes, and none of them are in my sheet.
- 2:20Which is very interesting. Based on memory. Let
- 2:23me, okay, I'll just say, I'm going to try pulling
- 2:25it up here and see if somehow it just got lost
- 2:27here. For practices at the very least, we had
- 2:31a red flag. We had both McLarens. We had a lot
- 2:33of red flags. That's right. In practice, we only
- 2:36had one, I think. Is it quality we have some?
- 2:38Yeah, I'll talk about that. Because there's some
- 2:40convo to have there. In practice, both McLarens
- 2:46did end up hitting the wall, and both of them
- 2:48messed up their suspension a little bit. I think
- 2:52they were able to, obviously, they got enough
- 2:53fixed and were able to get back out. Okay, that's
- 2:56weird. I just didn't update here. Qualifying.
- 3:01This was a record -breaking qualifying. The most
- 3:04red flags in a qualifying in F1 history. ever.
- 3:10I'm just going to go down the list really quick.
- 3:12Yep, do it up. Albon tags the inside of T1, breaks
- 3:15his front left suspension. That's red flag one.
- 3:18Nico sends his nose into turn one after a lockup,
- 3:20breaks his front wing off, but gets back to the
- 3:22pits. That's red flag two. Gasly locks up, goes
- 3:25straight into the runoff at the same turn, and
- 3:27right behind his teammate, Cole Pinto takes the
- 3:30turn and gives it a little too much juice, sending
- 3:31his rear into the barrier, knocking him off kilter,
- 3:33and sending his nose into the barrier, destroying
- 3:35the front of his car. That's red flag three.
- 3:38Ollie grab walks his Haas to a halt after going
- 3:41slightly wide on T2, knocking into the concrete
- 3:44barrier and deforming his suspension. That's
- 3:46four. Charles goes into the barriers at T15 after
- 3:49locking up while turning to go down the hill.
- 3:52That's red flag five. And finally, Oscar Piastri
- 3:55hits the barriers head on at the turn after the
- 3:58first DRS straight. Red flag six. Six red flags.
- 4:03There was, like, a little bit of, like, I mean,
- 4:06weather was a little weird near the end. It wasn't
- 4:09really raining, but it was kind of, like, sprinkling.
- 4:12It was like a mist. Yeah, kind of. Kind of like
- 4:13a mist. You couldn't see anything, but, like,
- 4:15people were starting to get ponchos on a little
- 4:17bit, and apparently it made the track at least
- 4:20a little bit slippery. God, Franco hit hard,
- 4:22man. Yeah, yeah. So we kind of were kind of attributing
- 4:28that. uh you know oscars and charles at the very
- 4:31least to maybe a slightly damp track but it was
- 4:34a crazy crazy qualifying session probably unfortunately
- 4:38maybe a little bit crazier than the race itself
- 4:40um just because it was very hectic and a little
- 4:43bit long the last five laps are awesome in the
- 4:45race personally yes the last five and then lap
- 4:48one was also pretty interesting i guess can usually
- 4:51be hectic yeah But yeah, that was pre -race.
- 4:56Yeah, I'm just speed running through it there.
- 4:59Oh, yeah. Ouch. Poor Oscar. Okay. Yeah, so that
- 5:04leaves our starting grid to be for Stappen, Sainz,
- 5:06Lawson, Antonelli, Russell, Sonoda, Norris, Hajar,
- 5:10Piastri, Leclerc. You ever think you'd ever say
- 5:13Lawson so high up? I didn't think. Right behind
- 5:17Sainz. Yeah, and then Antonelli. Honestly, those
- 5:20right there. I mean, Antonelli's at least slightly
- 5:22more believable because of the car, right? But
- 5:24for Stappen, Sainz, Lawson, Antonelli. Crazy.
- 5:27Russell, Sonoda. Yeah, it's insane. And then
- 5:30Lando. nps three two spots later like what it's
- 5:34crazy so just kind of a tiny bit of context um
- 5:38the red flag happened this was essentially what
- 5:41like the grid looked like i think norris actually
- 5:43norris was where he was but i believe norris
- 5:45made like the fastest lap of the race and just
- 5:48couldn't get anything better and then verstappen
- 5:50stole it either way i think verstappen made another
- 5:53record -breaking In the race? No, in qualifying.
- 5:58I think he made another track record. I might
- 5:59be off base about Norris. Verstappen made his
- 6:03final lap was the fastest, and Norris could not
- 6:06improve. It was pretty much just Verstappen that
- 6:08improved. I happen to be going through Q3 right
- 6:11now, and the track does look like... It doesn't
- 6:14look dry, but it doesn't look wet. It's just
- 6:17damp a little bit. Slightly damp. Or the M word,
- 6:20moist. Some people hate that word. I'm good.
- 6:22I was fine. But yeah, anyway, okay. All right,
- 6:27well, let's get into it here. Who should we start
- 6:30with? Let's go, well, Alpine. Okay, so. Franco
- 6:36actually was having a somewhat okay race for
- 6:39a while, and then the little thing with Albon
- 6:41and then just really couldn't recover from that.
- 6:44To Franco's defense, that was Albon's fault,
- 6:47but it's unfortunate. Right, it's an unfortunate
- 6:50scene, but Gasly also didn't do anything. The
- 6:55only thing he was able to do at the end was pass
- 6:57Franco. I mean, that's it. I just put Alpi needs
- 7:01to be relegated to F2 in here. I thought you
- 7:04were referencing Colapinto, but you mean the
- 7:06whole team. The whole team. That's crazy. Well,
- 7:10I like Gasly, obviously. That's no question.
- 7:12I don't hide that, but the whole team. Let's
- 7:17see. I mean, okay, Aston too. Also not a very
- 7:21awesome day. I mean, Stroll, kind of similar
- 7:23to Franco, was kind of like up in that P11 to
- 7:27P13 range for a minute. I don't really know what
- 7:31happened. I don't know if it's a mixture of strategy
- 7:33because we saw a lot of different strategies.
- 7:35A lot of teams kind of used different strategies
- 7:38between the two drivers for sure more so than
- 7:41I feel like in other races is what it felt like
- 7:43to me anyway. I don't know. I didn't check the
- 7:44numbers on that. But as far as like, you know,
- 7:48Mercedes kind of feels like a good example of
- 7:51that. Racing Bulls kind of feels like a good
- 7:52example of that. You know what I mean? Yeah,
- 7:54definitely. And then Alonzo never really. Other
- 7:59than almost rear -ending Oscar at the start of
- 8:01the race, Alonso really didn't. too much no you
- 8:04know i mean it was a quiet day for aston yeah
- 8:06it was i mean i mean it's more of the same it
- 8:08kind of feels like it was a quiet day for half
- 8:11the pack really really um until again like i
- 8:14said at the end there where it was we'll get
- 8:16into that here in a minute actually because that's
- 8:17kind of exciting what does he have for hoss does
- 8:19he have anything interesting for hoss no he doesn't
- 8:21update this but they they nothing really happened
- 8:24for hoss i think no i'm just saying did he send
- 8:26you anything oh no no no no no notes on hoss
- 8:29nope dang no notes on hoss nope i just put Yeah,
- 8:33it was a day. It was a race. They raced it. They
- 8:37were there. They showed up. Okay, so now let's
- 8:41get into the nitty -gritty here. Let's do it.
- 8:43Let's do it. Let's not do Williams. Technically,
- 8:47they would be next because Albon's 13, but we'll
- 8:50save it because Sainz got three because he's
- 8:52cool. Excuse me. All right. I mean, kick Sauber.
- 8:56We didn't talk about them yet. Also another kind
- 8:58of a tough day. Again, half the pack kind of
- 9:01had a tough day. But Bortoletto had an okay drive.
- 9:05Bortoletto? Oh, Kicksalber, yeah. Kicksalber,
- 9:07yeah. I was thinking of someone else, sorry.
- 9:09Or a different team, my bad. All good, all good.
- 9:11Another bottom tier. I just kind of put in here,
- 9:13he continues to show us, watch out for 2026.
- 9:17Yeah. You know what I mean? With all the unpredictability
- 9:20that we have going into 26 as far as who's going
- 9:23to perform. Gabby's really starting to kind of
- 9:27end the season well and seems like he's getting
- 9:29more consistent, which is kind of fun to watch.
- 9:32But other than that. For me, not anything crazy
- 9:36for kick this race. I know we're keeping it short
- 9:40on some of these, but seriously, this is one
- 9:43of the most uneventful races. Pretty much, yeah.
- 9:46It's fairly uneventful. I like this track, though.
- 9:49I forgot because it was so early in the race.
- 9:51I actually want to go back to Aston really quick.
- 9:53I also very much like Baku. Alonzo kind of screwed
- 9:57over by Piastri a little bit at the start. It
- 10:01was obviously... He did jump it. He jumped it
- 10:05because I think he was probably watching Piastri
- 10:08versus the lights a little bit, or maybe he just
- 10:10saw him at the periphery and then jumped. I mean,
- 10:13yeah, you've got to watch the lights, but at
- 10:14the same time, if you're that far back, it is
- 10:16probably quicker to watch the person in front
- 10:18of you. It might be. Yeah, it might be. But he
- 10:20did jump start because he was running off of
- 10:22Piastri. He technically didn't gain an advantage,
- 10:25but he did still get a penalty, so that also
- 10:28did not help his race. I don't think it would
- 10:31have really made that much. of a difference in
- 10:33terms of points but i thought i'd call that out
- 10:35anyway tough break for alonzo it you know stuff
- 10:38happens we can't not give him a penalty right
- 10:41it's just kind of falcos for sure nope 100 racing
- 10:44yep racing uh ferrari real quick um yeah i don't
- 10:52know i mean it it felt like it could have been
- 10:54a better day i mean charles was kind of running
- 10:56okay hamilton was kind of right in that p8 to
- 11:00p10 area for most of the day um but i think charles
- 11:06not being able to get into that pack that we
- 11:08saw there at the end where it had um oh who was
- 11:12it It was Liam, Yuki, Lando, and then it was
- 11:16Hamilton, actually, that was trying to chase
- 11:18them down, too, in that pack in the last, like,
- 11:20five, six laps. That was exciting to me, actually,
- 11:24and I can't wait to talk about Liam, of all people,
- 11:26actually, once we get to that point. But I don't
- 11:30know. I feel like that's a disappointing day
- 11:31for Ferrari. I feel like they had some opportunities.
- 11:35Or do you think that's where the car is? That
- 11:37is exactly where it is. Man, disappointing day
- 11:41for Ferrari, I definitely will agree, but I think
- 11:43a really good day for Hamilton. I mean, 12th
- 11:45to 8th, pretty good. There was just a very quick
- 11:48moment. He tried giving the place back to Leclerc
- 11:51at the very end of the race, but unfortunately
- 11:52didn't slow down enough, so he got the points.
- 11:55Yeah, I saw that. They said that he tried, but
- 11:58then the one commentator, I think it was, was
- 12:01like, well, it doesn't seem like he tried very
- 12:03hard. He didn't try very hard, yeah. That's funny.
- 12:05I think it was a pretty good day for Hamilton.
- 12:08I mean, he got into the points. He drove as good
- 12:11as a player. It's a good point. You know what
- 12:13I mean? At least you got into points. I think
- 12:15it's interesting you kind of keep alluding to
- 12:17kind of like the last five laps of the race.
- 12:20I actually, personally, I think that the first
- 12:22like six to ten were probably the most exciting
- 12:25for me. It was probably more exciting than the
- 12:26last. And that's when we saw really the Ferraris
- 12:31rather doing something like they were getting
- 12:33past because they started so far behind. They
- 12:35were starting to get past some of those like
- 12:37slow runners that got. You don't happen to. And
- 12:40I don't expect you to know this. You don't happen
- 12:42to know what tire they both started on, do you?
- 12:44Oh, I mean, I could find out really quick here,
- 12:47I think. I'm just I'm just curious because, you
- 12:49know, you saw somebody like George Russell who
- 12:51started on the hard that went that worked out
- 12:54very, very well for him, obviously. I don't know.
- 12:59I thought they did show you. I thought they did
- 13:03too. I was just curious if maybe one of them
- 13:06was on a hard at all. No, I definitely erased
- 13:10the strategies for sure on this one. I can't
- 13:15complain if I'm Ferrari, I guess, but for me...
- 13:20Personally, I was a non -Ferrari fan. I kind
- 13:22of expect them to be a little bit higher, so
- 13:23I hope they keep trending upwards as we get towards
- 13:26the end of the season. Is Lewis Hamilton's contract
- 13:30only for one year, too? No, no. I thought they
- 13:33only did for one. Okay, they did sign him multi
- 13:35-year? Okay. I'm almost positive that. Okay,
- 13:39I couldn't remember if they only had him for
- 13:40one or not. That's probably right. Why would
- 13:42he leave then? There's no way. It's for two seasons.
- 13:482025 and 2026. With the possibility of an extension.
- 13:54Everybody's got the possibility of an extension.
- 13:56What the hell? They say it's a multi -year. Two
- 14:03seasons is technically multi -year. I don't know
- 14:05if maybe there's also he has an out after second.
- 14:10Maybe Ferrari's like, oh, we're going to keep
- 14:11you on for a while, but you haven't out for some
- 14:14reason. If you want to retire or whatever, but
- 14:17that'd be the only out. Unless you want to get
- 14:20out to go somewhere else. If you want to jump
- 14:22ship to Aston, it's okay. No, that'd be weird.
- 14:24All right. Yeah, I kind of want to save McLaren
- 14:30for close to the last two. Okay, let's do Racing
- 14:32Bulls. isaac getting into points was awesome
- 14:36he was up a little higher but hey we'll take
- 14:38a p10 so here's the thing with liam at the end
- 14:42of the race now it's not like it didn't feel
- 14:44like yuki was trying was really charging that
- 14:46hard to me per se or trying that hard to get
- 14:49around him i think yuki was kind of content finishing
- 14:52where he was without the possibility of wrecking
- 14:54and now you wrecked you and and possibly liam
- 14:58which Red Bull as a whole doesn't look good,
- 15:01right? So I don't know if you're even thinking
- 15:02about that. Probably not in that moment, right?
- 15:04But it didn't seem like he was attacking him.
- 15:05Anyway, I still want to give Liam his flowers.
- 15:08I mean, he really was fighting off Yuki there
- 15:10and held to get P5. I thought Liam actually raced
- 15:15a solid race all day. absolutely i mean he got
- 15:20not just points but like decent points right
- 15:23right no for sure qualified really really well
- 15:26it's best ever start um and kept it high up in
- 15:30the points yeah that's that's not a that's not
- 15:33a result to scoff at and then yeah having your
- 15:35teammate finishing points too i'll be slightly
- 15:37lower um very good day for for v carb um very
- 15:42good day for lawson and yeah the battle of sonota
- 15:44is interesting i think It's not like I was on
- 15:48the edge of my seat, right? No, absolutely not.
- 15:49I wasn't by any means, but I was extremely intrigued
- 15:52by it because I really just wanted to see what
- 15:54Liam was going to do. And then, of course, the
- 15:57commentators are playing into it, right? They're
- 15:59like, oh! Yuki's coming up on Liam and they're
- 16:02racing for their F1 careers. It's like, no, probably
- 16:05not actually. Not in this particular race. Yuki's
- 16:10like, I want to be in that car. Liam's like,
- 16:14get away from me. It's a curious slot. As far
- 16:20as skill level and how they go about maneuvering,
- 16:23I don't know how you look at a driver to bring
- 16:26them up to the parent team. The big sister team,
- 16:31I guess. We're going to call it the big sister
- 16:33team? The Max Bowls? The Max Bowls are the big
- 16:36sister team? The thought also crossed your mind.
- 16:39Do they make Lawson give it to Sonota? See if
- 16:44that ever would have happened. I'm jumping on
- 16:47your train then at that point. That's BS! I'm
- 16:50kind of angry you're not already on my train.
- 16:52You think about it, there's literally no reason
- 16:55for them to do that. They need G -Carb to get
- 16:58points. Red Bull is not going to get like yuki
- 17:02gets like another three points oh big whoop right
- 17:05right right right but no it was just for me it
- 17:09was cool to see liam finish the race that way
- 17:12yeah you know what i mean because he's kind of
- 17:14holding up yuki who then was holding up lando
- 17:16arguably we'll get to lando um and then who is
- 17:21who is holding up hamilton and hamilton was kind
- 17:23of catching up to him now of course they're all
- 17:25discombobulated up there close racing it's Hamilton's
- 17:30going to catch him no matter what at that point.
- 17:31But once he got up there, he didn't do anything.
- 17:33But just being able to hold all those guys back
- 17:35was impressive to me. Oh, man, should we rip
- 17:40the Band -Aid off on McLaren? I think we have
- 17:42to, yeah. I think let's rip the Band -Aid off
- 17:44on McLaren. What an opportunity that was presented
- 17:52to Lando that just he didn't take it, man. He's
- 17:57still what? 30 points back? Maybe not that many.
- 18:00No, I think it's a little bit more than that.
- 18:03And considering Oscar didn't even get to finish
- 18:06the race, dude, what an opportunity. A little
- 18:09less than 30, yeah. I don't know. I'm disappointed
- 18:14for Lando. I'm not a McLaren fan, obviously,
- 18:16but I'm disappointed for Lando to at least not
- 18:19try to make that race more interesting. Yeah.
- 18:22You know what I mean? And it's not necessarily
- 18:23all him, you know what I mean? But it's... yeah
- 18:26it's it's unfortunate i don't think he i mean
- 18:29it sucks first off that oscar retired right obviously
- 18:31yeah he i mean it's he said that he felt like
- 18:35the car felt really good before he crashed in
- 18:37qualifying and then yeah he just has i mean it
- 18:40was just i mean like such a horrible start off
- 18:44the line just like stuck there not moving and
- 18:46then crashing before the end of the lap it's
- 18:49like i'm just i'm truly i still have no idea
- 18:52what happened like yeah i think he's got a scrub
- 18:55that entire thing from his brain. He's got to
- 18:58pretend like Baku does not exist. And with where
- 19:00Lando finished, and that's really your only competitor
- 19:02right now for WDC, you're pretty much going to
- 19:05have constructors locked up. You didn't this
- 19:06week because of your ass, but you know what I
- 19:09mean? They had an opportunity to win this weekend.
- 19:12Didn't quite happen. Nothing really changed per
- 19:16se, so I think you're right. You have to completely
- 19:19forget about Baku and just move on. So now the
- 19:26point difference is 25. So to reach Piastri,
- 19:31Lando has to basically do what Piastri did and
- 19:34win a race with Piastri DNFing. He had the opportunity,
- 19:38though. I'm hoping to not see PSG DNF again.
- 19:42Because I don't want to see a championship won
- 19:45that way either, you know what I mean? Per se.
- 19:47But it would be interesting. It would even the
- 19:51odds a little bit. Even if PSG does DNF in Singapore,
- 19:54I'm going to knock on wood here because obviously
- 19:56I don't want that to happen. But if he does and
- 19:59Norris wins, that brings them equal. And now
- 20:03they're fighting for the championship again.
- 20:04Right. which would be crazy. And that's so like,
- 20:07it's inner team fighting for the entertainment.
- 20:09Please give it to me. Entertainment value off
- 20:12the charts. Right. Uh, uh, entertainment value
- 20:19off the charts. Right. I had to digest that one
- 20:21for a second. Um, but yeah, hopefully that doesn't
- 20:25happen. Lando. Yeah. Unfortunately take the advantage.
- 20:27Just a really bad McLaren race. Like just straight
- 20:30up. It, it worries me for the next couple of
- 20:33races. I am. maybe i'll wait singapore's a toss
- 20:37-up too singapore's a little bit of a toss -up
- 20:39um mclaren has been okay here uh mercedes has
- 20:45been pretty okay here but i mean like they've
- 20:48been good at like cold tracks not hot tracks
- 20:51but like but like history shows that mercedes
- 20:54shows up so yeah it's kind of it's a bit of a
- 20:56toss -up you're right um right who's next you
- 21:01want to talk about mercedes all right all right
- 21:02all right Yeah, Mercedes is cool. I mean, frick.
- 21:07Oh, no, we have to talk about Williams first.
- 21:08No, Mercedes. We have to talk about Mercedes.
- 21:10We'll go Mercedes. We'll go Mercedes, yeah. Great
- 21:13race. I mean, both drivers, really, truly. But
- 21:16George Russell really put on a show for me. Just
- 21:20consistent, real consistent race. Antonelli had
- 21:23a hiccup kind of early on, but he really found
- 21:25his groove. I mean, finishing P4 right now for
- 21:29Antonelli, I'm not looking for anything more.
- 21:31That is perfectly fine, especially if George
- 21:33is in podium. Yeah. You know, at least, you know.
- 21:38That was a great race. I guess I'm trying to
- 21:39figure out what else I'm looking for from Antonelli
- 21:41in this first year. I mean, that's took care
- 21:43of the car. You didn't get any penalties. You
- 21:45raced a clean race. Sweet. Really good points.
- 21:50What more can you really ask for? You could ask
- 21:52for a podium, but not at the cost of your car.
- 21:55How far back was he behind Carlos? I don't think
- 21:57he was even going to sniff him, was he? I don't
- 22:00think he was that close. I thought he was a little
- 22:03close. He was reeling him in, but not like...
- 22:06He was... He was actually only two seconds. Two
- 22:10and a half seconds away. He was getting there.
- 22:13I guess two seconds looks farther away. when
- 22:17they're going mock jesus yeah um but yeah no
- 22:20curious to see um and russell finds his way into
- 22:23the podium once again i i would imagine both
- 22:25these drivers get re -signed next year i mean
- 22:28why wouldn't they i would imagine you know um
- 22:31and if they do i'm really excited about mercedes
- 22:35next year actually yeah if they bring the same
- 22:38two drivers back Yeah. You know what I mean?
- 22:40Yeah, everybody's getting in a new car. Yeah,
- 22:42I get all that. Second year Antonelli is exciting.
- 22:44I think it would be exciting to watch. I think
- 22:46second year, all these drivers are going to be
- 22:48really interesting. I think it's a really good
- 22:51rookie class. It's been an honor. It's been an
- 22:53honor. It's been an honor. All right. Let Williams
- 22:58just do it up, man. Let's go. Once again, Williams
- 23:02either has two cars doing really poorly, two
- 23:06cars doing just OK, or one car doing pretty good.
- 23:09And that's it. I mean, with a crazy qualifying
- 23:13lap and bringing it home only one place down,
- 23:17signs like he killed it. He absolutely killed
- 23:20it. He did exactly what you do. He pretty much
- 23:22had a flawless race. He just kept it where he
- 23:24needed. He managed to the people around him.
- 23:29Obviously, he let Russell through, but not much
- 23:33you can do in that situation. He's in a Williams.
- 23:37He really didn't want to, but... i mean the restart
- 23:42they had a restart and he he kept it like yeah
- 23:45crazy crazy good racing from science he was battling
- 23:48i think he was battling you're talking the restart
- 23:50at the way beginning yeah way beginning i think
- 23:52he was battling lawson for a little bit actually
- 23:54antonelli because i think antonelli got ahead
- 23:56of lawson and he started going for signs and
- 23:58i think he was just battling antonelli for a
- 24:00little bit there um so yeah i thought it was
- 24:03a really good race from signs albon um getting
- 24:06that penalty after hitting colapinto sucks um
- 24:09sucks a lot um you know like i said williams
- 24:14is just one or the one or the other it seems
- 24:17like yeah no that i forgot about that restart
- 24:21i'll talk about it more when we talk about max
- 24:23but god he's He pisses me off. He's just so damn
- 24:29good. All right, all right, all right. Well,
- 24:31actually, we are talking about Max. Yeah. Right?
- 24:34Is that it? Dang. They need to do more in the
- 24:38race so we can talk more. Truly. Well, and Mike's
- 24:41not here, you know. Yeah, that's true. Anyway,
- 24:44but Max Verstappen getting the win. That's why
- 24:46you're wearing the Max shirt. I'm wearing the
- 24:47Max shirt. It felt right. I don't know why. He
- 24:53felt like he was excited about it, which was
- 24:58kind of fun for me. You know what I mean? He
- 25:00jumped into the mechanics and was talking to
- 25:04George and Carlos in the... What do we call the
- 25:09room? Cooldown room? I actually have to agree
- 25:13with you. It's cool to see him like, I don't
- 25:17want to say refreshing. we just got done watching
- 25:20an entire season yeah of straight dominance no
- 25:24it's not refreshing but it's like it's cool to
- 25:27see that side of him like he's still excited
- 25:29about it like it's he still gets joy out it's
- 25:31not just another day in the office anymore right
- 25:33um yeah it's cool to see any driving it's cool
- 25:36to see any driver like that um but he i mean
- 25:38he deserved the win uh that restart that's what
- 25:41i want to talk about real quick that restart
- 25:42he just I feel like you never really know when
- 25:46he's going to go. He was waiting for a while,
- 25:49too. He went almost to the longest point you
- 25:52could. I never really felt like I've seen him
- 25:56weave that much. Yeah. You know what I mean?
- 25:58And he was doing it almost the whole time, and
- 26:01I feel like he never really does it that long.
- 26:03You saying that reminded me. I have a vivid memory
- 26:06of me watching the race and seeing him do that
- 26:08and seeing signs like he was warming his tires
- 26:11for a while, but for the last 30 seconds of him
- 26:14waiting for Max to restart, he was just steady,
- 26:17waiting, waiting. And I was like, oh, signs is
- 26:19locked in. He's just waiting. Well, and everybody
- 26:22else started accordion. behind him because max
- 26:24just out here doing what he wants yeah he's yeah
- 26:28he's got that he's got restarts locked down he
- 26:31knows what he's doing like yeah exactly he's
- 26:34just he's just like he's like no i gotta warm
- 26:36up the tire guys oh i'm already two seconds away
- 26:38like that's just how it goes yeah no and like
- 26:41he he got away immediately a second and a half
- 26:43off signs like just yeah immediately yeah immediately
- 26:46so like i remember watching him be like yeah
- 26:48i mean there was no way dude what are you supposed
- 26:50to do yeah if your signs are anybody in that
- 26:53you see verstappen qualified first and and a
- 26:56williams in second you're like oh verstappen's
- 26:58winning the race It just is. That's what's going
- 27:00to happen. In a place like Baku? Nah, there's
- 27:03just no way. It says here, read note from Mike.
- 27:07Oh, yeah. I'll go ahead and pull that up. Talk
- 27:09about Yuki. Yuki, yeah. So the only thing for
- 27:13Yuki is, I mean, great race, right? P6. I'm taking
- 27:15that from Yuki all day, considering what we've
- 27:17seen from him this season in the Red Bull. My
- 27:21thing is, is I do wish, now, when I was talking
- 27:23about Liam, you know what I mean? It was different.
- 27:26But I do wish. The thing that Mike said must
- 27:31be spicy. I'm sorry, please. Yeah, I'll go on.
- 27:35The thing about Yuki is... Dang, messed up my
- 27:38train of thought. I'm so sorry. You look frustrated
- 27:40over there. It's okay. Dang, where was I going?
- 27:44Oh, I just wish you would have gave a little
- 27:45bit more to Liam there. You know what I mean?
- 27:48Oh, like tried getting there a little bit more?
- 27:50Right, but I feel like, again, he was just comfortable.
- 27:51Like you said, what's another few points going
- 27:53to do for Yuki at this point? You know what I
- 27:55mean? Or you crash out and get nothing. Do you
- 27:57think Yuki was comfortable, or do you think Lawson
- 28:00was just keeping away from him? There was a couple
- 28:03times Yuki had DRS the whole time. end of the
- 28:07race right but he still just couldn't find the
- 28:10right line i don't know yeah i think lost managed
- 28:13pretty well so like he felt like he really did
- 28:15it felt like he really doesn't like him like
- 28:17yeah i have tire despair so like he gets close
- 28:19i'll just go away no big deal right right i felt
- 28:22like there's a lot of that i think for a lot
- 28:23of drivers kind of racing each other sure What's
- 28:27Mike's comment? He literally read the comment,
- 28:31turned the phone upside down, and slammed it
- 28:34on the table. So you heard a slam. That was Joe
- 28:36slamming his phone in disgust. I almost don't
- 28:38want to say this just in spite of him, but I'm
- 28:41going to because I think it's good content, I
- 28:45guess. Oh, God. Quote from Mike. While I am an
- 28:50Oscar Piastri fan, Max is now as close to Oscar
- 28:53as Lando was to him last year. I am now rooting
- 28:57for Max Verstappen to win WDC in a huge comeback.
- 29:00It would be so epic. Okay. Wow. In that short
- 29:06little bit, there's a lot to unpack there. Yes.
- 29:09I was not thinking this exact same thing as him,
- 29:13but I was thinking... In kind of the same vein,
- 29:16but in a different mindset, I am really worried
- 29:19Max is going to have a comeback. This season?
- 29:23Yes. I fear McLaren is falling apart a little
- 29:27bit. I know they've only had, like, maybe two
- 29:29iffy races, but, like, they haven't. Yeah, but
- 29:33more so recently, right? They just haven't looked
- 29:36as strong as they had recently. Yeah, they haven't
- 29:39looked as strong as they did earlier in the season.
- 29:42So, if it's not been winning this, I'm like,
- 29:45dude. His word epic is true. Like, that would
- 29:50be crazy epic. out of the realm of possibility
- 29:53that max could do it and that i'm not rooting
- 29:56for that i don't want that to happen but it really
- 29:58worries me that it could happen he's already
- 30:00a legend but could you imagine it's unfortunate
- 30:02you are now an f1 god it's unfortunate that it
- 30:05would be a sick comeback right it's like it would
- 30:08be like a sick comeback but it's like he's had
- 30:10his moment it's so annoying to a new person right
- 30:13i want to see an oscar or orlando i want to see
- 30:15a new wdc sure i'd be i'd even be okay it'd be
- 30:19scary again i'd be okay even got second right
- 30:21that'd be fine a lot has to happen for him to
- 30:24get first right he has to do more than win every
- 30:27race like if he wins every race and lando and
- 30:31oscar get p2 p3 in any order i still think oscar
- 30:35wins sure i don't think that matters yeah so
- 30:38a lot has to happen but like when mclaren fails
- 30:41they fail a lot that's another thing i want to
- 30:42talk about mclaren as well lando's the only mclaren
- 30:46on the track and they give him that pit stop
- 30:48for the second weekend in a row are you kidding
- 30:52me a a bad tire swap are you kidding me mclaren
- 30:56what is that what is that they're making their
- 31:00decision bro He's not even on track. Oscar's
- 31:04not even in the garage. That's how bad it is.
- 31:07Oscar's track side on a different turn where
- 31:09he crashed. Watching his phone. Watching the
- 31:11race on his phone. His feet up. That's how bad
- 31:13it is. That was like probably like, I mean, that
- 31:16and the Lando kind of like the whole, what was
- 31:19it? Zandvoort like trio that were kind of like
- 31:21had their head and they were sitting on that
- 31:22and that like top like track side driver out
- 31:27moments for me. Just like watching them either
- 31:29like watching the race. or in a little bit of
- 31:31pain and sorrow. You hate that? Watching Oscar
- 31:34sit there on his phone? No, I thought it was
- 31:36hilarious. Would you rather have been with the
- 31:39team trying to help Lando or do you think that's
- 31:42out of the realm at this point? I'd do the same.
- 31:45I mean, come on. You had a horrible start and
- 31:48then you crashed into the wall lap one. It's
- 31:49like, no, I'm just going to go ahead and stay
- 31:51here for a second. He needs some alone time.
- 31:52At the wall. At the wall he crashed. I need to
- 31:55think about what I've done. For the entirety
- 31:58of the race. Max could do it. That's what's scary.
- 32:03It's crazy. I think what made me have such a
- 32:09guttural reaction is that he's rooting for Max.
- 32:12That is... crazy to me i i him and i have shared
- 32:17the opinion that max has grown on us a little
- 32:19bit i don't hate him as much as i used to that's
- 32:21what happened to lewis for me because when i
- 32:22first got into it i hated lewis because he was
- 32:25so effing dominant and then as soon as max started
- 32:28winning i was like god i'd really like to see
- 32:30lewis win again yeah i'm like what happened to
- 32:32me Yeah. Because I didn't like how Lewis treated
- 32:34some people, you know, even and all that. Same
- 32:37thing with Max. Max started winning, felt like
- 32:40he was treating people weird. I was like, what
- 32:42is going on? Him not winning all the time makes
- 32:44him feel more like a person. I think like maybe
- 32:46that's what it is. I still recognize he's probably
- 32:49the greatest of all time. Like, unfortunately,
- 32:51like Mac could be the greatest of all time. And
- 32:54that's just how it is. Better than Lewis Hamilton.
- 32:57Yeah. All said and done. Like, I don't think.
- 33:01This is tough. No, I was about to say, I don't
- 33:06know if I'd even put Alonso in the same conversation
- 33:10anymore. It's hard because we're looking at peak
- 33:13to peak, and I'm not seeing that. I'm just seeing
- 33:15them racing right now, and it's very obvious
- 33:17Max is better. But I'm saying when they're done
- 33:20and you can go back and look peak to peak. I
- 33:22started watching F1 in the dominance of Max,
- 33:27so it's hard. I'd have to really go back and
- 33:30watch a lot and just see the moves they made.
- 33:34Louis was crazy dominant, too. He was. It makes
- 33:38you wonder, like, obviously it's not just the
- 33:40car. I mean, I think a lot of it was the car,
- 33:43but a lot of it had to be Louis as well, right?
- 33:46And also, I mean, the cost caps weren't a thing,
- 33:49so Mercedes could spend to the moon if they wanted.
- 33:51Yeah, so that all aside, it's going to be an
- 33:56interesting six, five weeks, right? Because we're
- 34:02on 21 now, I think. One, two, wait, one, two,
- 34:06three. We still have seven weeks. Seven weeks?
- 34:10Including Singapore, yeah. Oh, man, there's a
- 34:12lot of time for him to make a move. A lot of
- 34:14time for Max Verstappen to win the WDC. That's
- 34:16what I'm saying. That's what I'm saying. Wow.
- 34:20Well. I can't believe he sent that to me, and
- 34:23I had to read it. You did. It's unfortunate.
- 34:27I mean, he's got a point. It is. Norris was nowhere
- 34:32close to Max by the end of last season. But,
- 34:35I mean, it's Max Verstappen, right? Right. What
- 34:40if he finishes two? Is that still just as crazy?
- 34:44I would think so. It's pretty crazy. Don't get
- 34:47me wrong. It's not as crazy as coming back and
- 34:49winning WDC. But it's still pretty wild. It's
- 34:50pretty crazy. It'd be pretty disappointing to
- 34:52not see both McLarens up there after so hard
- 34:54they were. 100%. And after the pure dominance.
- 34:57The first half of the season. I mean, literally
- 35:00peer dominance. Yep. I mean, yeah. So Max is
- 35:03currently 44 points away from Norris and 69 points
- 35:08away from Pastry. Again, a lot would have to
- 35:13happen. Yeah, a lot would have to happen, but
- 35:15it is not out of the realm of possibility. So
- 35:18with that, I believe that kind of wraps up. I'm
- 35:22going to go home and ponder that now. You should.
- 35:24That's crazy. Just take a moment and ponder.
- 35:27That's crazy. No, not right now because my thinking
- 35:29is really slow, so we'll be here in silence for
- 35:32a while. You know what? We're not even going
- 35:36to go into news because we only got one little
- 35:39thing, and then, Kev, what we'll do is we'll
- 35:41head right into the Singapore preview after this
- 35:44here. The only little bit of news that really
- 35:46came out, if you will, whatever, you know, rip.
- 35:52Rest in peace to Lewis's dog, Roscoe, who, like
- 35:56we were talking before we even started recording,
- 35:58just kind of became a staple of the grid. You
- 36:01know what I mean? So, yeah, rest in peace, Roscoe.
- 36:05I mean, part of the fam. More recognizable than
- 36:07some of the drivers that we've had. Dude, probably,
- 36:10yeah. Probably. Yeah, he was a legend. You know,
- 36:14obviously he watches this podcast, so, you know.
- 36:17big condolences to to lewis thoughts with do
- 36:19you think people would know who maza maza pin
- 36:21is over like roscoe only because of how crazy
- 36:25spins yeah he's got the name right i'm trying
- 36:28to think of a driver that maybe of the last couple
- 36:32years that roscoe might be more popular oh roscoe
- 36:35is definitely way more popular than logan sorry
- 36:37logan do but well that's the given right that's
- 36:40the default thought Thoughts with Lewis? Lewis
- 36:46came out and said he lost his best friend. It
- 36:48was really tough. It's truth, man. Pets are family.
- 36:54With that, Kev, let's head right into our Singapore
- 36:57GP preview. And I am here to bring you up to
- 37:15speed for the Singapore GP this year called the
- 37:19Formula One Singapore Grand Prix 2025. No name
- 37:23sponsor. Yeah, that's kind of weird. I'm not
- 37:26used to that. It's usually like Singapore Airlines
- 37:28Grand Prix, but it's just Singapore Grand Prix
- 37:31this year. Are you sure? Yeah, I checked. I'm
- 37:32showing Singapore Airlines. Oh. Is that for 2025?
- 37:36It says Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix.
- 37:40For 2025? Yeah. Oh, okay. Singapore Airlines.
- 37:43So maybe. When I looked at F1 TV, it just said
- 37:47Singapore. Yeah. And this is where I usually
- 37:48get the names. Oh, well. I don't know. Schmelti,
- 37:51what's weather look like? I'm still pulling it
- 37:54up here. Okay. I'll say my fun fact then. Yeah.
- 37:57This was Formula One's first night race. And
- 38:00I think I've mentioned this before. It's a crazy
- 38:02fact. Due to the physical demands of the service.
- 38:04in the climate a driver can lose as much as three
- 38:07kilograms that's 6 .6 freedom pounds during the
- 38:11race 6 .6 Man, I need to race F1 races. That's
- 38:18my answer. That's my answer, bro. That's all
- 38:21I got to do. I made this note, and I was like,
- 38:22oh, I could make a joke about, like, yeah, I
- 38:23should probably race F1. That's all we got to
- 38:26do, Joe. That's all we got to do. We just got
- 38:27to race. It's easy, honestly. The weather's looking
- 38:29iffy, right? Oh, really? So Friday, Saturday,
- 38:32you got 40 % chance of rain right now. Sunday
- 38:36race day goes down to, like, 14 % chance of rain.
- 38:39But it's warm -ish. It's like 87 degrees Fahrenheit.
- 38:43But it's going to be humid. as heck heck heck
- 38:47so still looking out for probably a tough race
- 38:51the rain poses an interesting man that qualifying
- 38:55is going to be very interesting if it's a race
- 38:57at night or midday there it's night night there
- 39:00so i mean obviously the temp starts going down
- 39:04we're looking at 83 82 but still 20 20 to 35
- 39:07chance of rain oh man okay mercedes uh singapore
- 39:12never fails to disappoint at least a little bit
- 39:15something something crazy happens even if it's
- 39:17not really on track something crazy will be in
- 39:20the points oh my gosh um all right Our starting
- 39:24grid last year was Norris to Verstappen, Hamilton
- 39:28to Russell. Lando holds the lead through T1 with
- 39:31Max behind, battling Lewis for second place almost
- 39:33immediately. He keeps it as they get to T2. A
- 39:37couple cars abort the turn and head off track,

- 40:09Verstappen, starts to complain of a front wing

- 40:22the same wing, damage minimal or mitigated. Tires!
- 40:25Tires! After taking his pit stop and ending up
- 40:30behind both Mercs, Piastri starts to make some
- 40:32moves to get back to the podium, first on Hamilton

- 40:55is filled with clips of drivers brushing against
- 40:57the wall and some close calls with the barriers.
- 40:59K -Mag retiring on lap 60, only two laps away
- 41:01from the finish, and Landl finishing a cool 22
- 41:04seconds ahead of Verstappen in second, with Danny
- 41:07Rick taking the fastest lap for his Red Bull
- 41:09team on his last F1 race ever. His last race
- 41:13ever. I forgot about that. Our finals, Norris
- 41:16Verstappen, Piastri, Russell, Leclerc, Hamilton,
- 41:19Sainz, Alonso, Hulkenberg, and Perez. This is
- 41:23actually another fun one for me on the game.
- 41:25I don't hate Singapore. I used to be really...
- 41:29Mike, this is one of Mike's best tracks. He loves
- 41:31Singapore. I used to be pretty bad at Singapore.
- 41:33It's kind of like off and on, I feel like, through
- 41:35the games. But I think this game, I feel pretty
- 41:37good about it. Okay, okay. I love night races,
- 41:41by the way. Yeah, they're fun. It just... You
- 41:44see the spark so much more and that excites me.
- 41:47Like fire, fire, fire. Yeah. But yeah, interesting.
- 41:55The weather's interesting. How last race ended
- 41:58is interesting or not ended, but the results
- 42:00of last race is interesting. Heading into this,
- 42:03it's kind of tough. Like you said, interesting.
- 42:06It is tough because the... I feel like the podium's
- 42:10been fairly different, like, for the last couple
- 42:13of years. I kind of mentioned this already. I
- 42:16feel like, I mean, their car shouldn't be suited
- 42:19to it, but Mercedes is typically pretty close
- 42:22up there. McLaren's typically okay. Max is usually
- 42:25not great at this track, although he's wanting
- 42:28to break through this. Well, he's got to win
- 42:29the WDC this year, so he's going to have to win.
- 42:31So you're going to have to put him in one, Joe.
- 42:33But are you going to end up having two McLarens
- 42:36on your podium or not? Is this the first race
- 42:38in a long time? That's a great question. I actually,
- 42:43I'll try coming up with some sort of outline
- 42:46for my predictions before coming. I didn't do
- 42:48anything at all because I just don't know. I
- 42:50want to kind of base it off of what you guys
- 42:51do. I don't know either. Well, and Mike and me
- 42:54are tied still because I think I put everything
- 42:56in right here. So we all just got one point because
- 43:00of Max. Yep. None of us picked him to win. Man,
- 43:02the one weekend you don't pick George. Dude,
- 43:05for real, man. That's rough, dude. I wonder where
- 43:10I'm going this week. Who goes first between you
- 43:15and Mike? Did we make Mike go first last time?
- 43:19Because it was the first time we were sitting
- 43:23at tied. Because we were tied last week, too,
- 43:24obviously. And that would have been the first
- 43:27time. Oh, yeah, that would have made sense. You
- 43:28did make him go first last week. Yeah. I think
- 43:31you should go first. I mean, because it doesn't
- 43:33matter. Because it doesn't matter. Oh, I guess
- 43:34it does matter because then you would know his
- 43:36prediction. But that's okay. But he didn't know
- 43:39mine when he made his. That's true. So I should
- 43:41go now. Yeah. All right. That's a good point.
- 43:42Glad we figured that out. Hey, that's a really
- 43:44good point. Glad we figured that out. That's
- 43:45a great point. Glad we figured that out. Okay.
- 43:47So, hmm. So what do I do? Ding, ding, ding, ding,
- 43:55ding, ding. It's tough. I don't envy you. I feel
- 44:06like I can't really use last year. This year
- 44:09feels different. McLaren wasn't fully dominating.
- 44:13Well, they were towards the end of the year last
- 44:15year. That's when they started turning on. They
- 44:18were pretty good at this track last year. Gastry
- 44:20got up to the podium and Lando finished 22 seconds
- 44:23ahead of Verstappen. F, dude. I don't know who
- 44:28I want here. And now it's weird because McClaren...
- 44:31It's weird because Austin crashed last week.
- 44:32That's weird to me. And he crashed because of
- 44:34a lockup. He did. Yeah, he did. And he had a
- 44:37bad week and all and all. But I think if he's
- 44:40a champion, he's going to be able to wash that
- 44:43out. And he's going to come back. And it's going
- 44:51to go, dang, I don't like this. Can I just feed
- 44:54you a little info just to like... George has
- 44:56also proven to be pretty good at this track.
- 44:58George is on my podium. Yeah. Okay, cool. He's
- 45:00on my podium. I was hoping someone would do it.
- 45:02He's definitely on my podium. I feel dumb not
- 45:05to put him on the podium. He's gotten pretty
- 45:06unlucky at this track. Right. But he's done pretty
- 45:09well, I feel like. I'm going to go. Dang. I'm
- 45:14going to go Lando George Oscar. Ooh, there it
- 45:19is. You don't have Max on your podium. That is
- 45:25crazy. He'll be four. He's going to be right
- 45:27there. I don't know, dude. Maxwell Verstappen
- 45:30could absolutely win this race. But again, not
- 45:33historically great for him. Before you're right.
- 45:35Yeah, it isn't. Yeah, what's Mike's? Can you
- 45:38guess what his is? I haven't looked at it either.
- 45:41It's spoilered on Discord, so I haven't seen
- 45:43it yet. I think he has. Max has got to be on
- 45:46there. Because he wants Max, I think it's going
- 45:49to be Max. Lando. Max Oscar Lando. I don't think
- 45:55he ever puts Lando above Oscar. Right. You think
- 45:58it's going to be Max Oscar Lando? Yep. That sounds
- 46:01good to me. It was Oscar Max Lando. Oscar Max
- 46:05Lando. So he splits the McLarens. Okay. Okay.
- 46:11Interesting. Are you putting two papayas on your
- 46:14podium? Yes, I am. And it's going to be Max,
- 46:17then. It's going to be Max, then. It's going
- 46:19to be Lando, Max, and Oscar. Okay. Wait. Oh,
- 46:23man. Max and Oscar. Do I want to put Oscar ahead
- 46:28of Max? You'd be the only one with Oscar in second,
- 46:34so if he does get second, you get the bonus points.
- 46:36That's true. I'm going to do that. That's a good
- 46:37point. What am I doing? What an idiot. You're
- 46:40only two points behind us. What am I doing? I
- 46:42promise. I think Max, this might be the year
- 46:45he wins. Well, none of us picked him to win.
- 46:47So I feel a little safe about that. And at least
- 46:49you have him on the podium. Unlike me. I think
- 46:51he's going to come back this year. But if George
- 46:53gets on the podium, who does George push? If
- 46:56George gets to the podium, who does he push out
- 46:58of your guys' podium? That's Max, I think. So
- 47:00here's what I'm thinking. Listen to this. And
- 47:03hey, listen to this. I think either Max is on
- 47:09the podium or he's in sixth. I truly think he's
- 47:13doing really well or he's stuck low. yeah yeah
- 47:16it's just not working out because that's just
- 47:19how it goes right but progressively every year
- 47:22he's gotten better and better at this track so
- 47:24i think this might be the year he breaks the
- 47:26curse i mean max has been on the podium the last
- 47:28three races we would be of this year yeah of
- 47:32this year yeah of this year yeah yeah before
- 47:35that it was a two race hiatus then he was second
- 47:38and then before that was a two race hiatus so
- 47:40he's he's oh god it was a three race hiatus It
- 47:45was a four -race hiatus. No, because I see him.
- 47:48Red Bull Ring, Silverstone, Spa, Hungara Ring.
- 47:53Four races. Red Bull Ring. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
- 48:00He's back on the upswing. It was five races.
- 48:04Nuh -uh. Spain. Yeah. Six? No, no. I meant in
- 48:09a row. Sorry. In a row. One, two. Oh, there's
- 48:12Canada. Canada's in there. There it is. Okay.
- 48:14No, I was skipping over Canada for some reason.
- 48:16We always forget about Canada. I had my blinders
- 48:17on. Okay. Interesting. So then that means he's
- 48:20due to not hit the podium this race. Is that
- 48:23right? He's hit the podium three races in a row.
- 48:26Is that right? Well. Well. Guess George is just
- 48:30going to have to knock him off the podium. I
- 48:32mean, if you didn't say George, I was going to
- 48:36say George. So because I did. I feel okay. I
- 48:39just wanted him somewhere in one of our podiums
- 48:42because I truly believe he's good at this. Yeah,
- 48:45exactly. When you get the point, I'm going to
- 48:48be like, I did that. Okay, sounds good. I just
- 48:52want to be valid in my thinking that he's good
- 48:55at this track. That's all I want. Fair, though.
- 48:58I'm only two points away. I already feel like
- 49:00I've lost this thing. There's seven races left.
- 49:03We just established there's seven races left.
- 49:06And right now... With Oscar crashing last race?
- 49:09I just run so bad. With guys like Mike claiming
- 49:12that Max and is cheering Max on to go win the
- 49:15WDC, there's a lot that could happen even within
- 49:17our predictions. If he's rooting for Max, this
- 49:20is not how Max does it with Oscar and Landon
- 49:22on the podium. That's not how it works. Although
- 49:24I guess predicting and rooting are two different
- 49:26things. Whatever. No, you stay on that. You stay
- 49:31on that soapbox job. All right. Well, or we could
- 49:36see a Red Bull Red Bull. We could see a Ferrari
- 49:38come in and take a podium. They are also fine
- 49:40with that. Also hit or miss here. I would like
- 49:42to see that. And I'd only like to see that because
- 49:44it makes me feel better about the start of next
- 49:46year. I want to see five teams coming out of
- 49:49the gate. Just neck, neck. What am I trying to
- 49:53say? Just neck and neck. I would like to see
- 49:55that, too. A lot of neck and going. This is obviously
- 49:58just a friendly little, friendly little, like,
- 50:01not really a bet even. I just want to get your
- 50:02opinion here. Okay, I was like, don't say friendly
- 50:04like that after I just said there's a lot of
- 50:05neck and going on. Whoa! What kind of podcast
- 50:09are we turning this into? Singapore's tough,
- 50:15right? Singapore's tough. Do we see any of the
- 50:18rookies bow out during the race? i feel like
- 50:21we have a pretty tough bunch here i don't know
- 50:23if we see any of them like like bow out or do
- 50:26we see anyone like if it is it's franco and it's
- 50:30only because the car's poop okay you know i mean
- 50:33that's kind of the vibe i got right now like
- 50:35currently it's because i've god i've really been
- 50:39liking what gabby's doing lately I have so much
- 50:41respect for them when they go racing here because
- 50:43after they get out of the track, after they get
- 50:45out of the car, they're, like, covered. Like,
- 50:47they've been in a swimming pool. Oh, yeah, yeah,
- 50:49yeah, for sure. Me, too, when I play the game.
- 50:54I'm just so focused. All right. We better close
- 50:58this thing up. I'm starting to get unchained.
- 51:00All right. What are we doing? All right, Joe.
- 51:04You said that last pod too. To close? What are
- 51:08we doing? I was over there laughing. You said
- 51:12that, right? Tonight's the football pod. What
- 51:16are we doing? What Joe's doing is he's going
- 51:20to go home. I'm going to go home. Thanks for
- 51:22coming all the way over here though. It's not
- 51:24that far. I'm happy to be here. It was a lot
- 51:29of fun. Sweet, as always. We were able to hold
- 51:32down the fort without Mike. We should probably
- 51:34just not have him back. Nice, done. You've got
- 51:38to be listening to this. Of course, thanks for
- 51:40being here. As you do naturally in this dwelling.
- 51:46Wow, we need to close the show. Mike, we'll see
- 51:49you next week. Do we have a show next week? No,
- 51:52we don't. We'll see you in two weeks, Mike. Well,
- 51:55I won't. I will. Joel, we'll see you sooner than
- 51:58that. I've got to move on. Don't forget to like,

- 52:10next week. I just said not next week. In two
- 52:12weeks. Not next week. We have to go. This is
- 52:18not an outro. It's just bad. We will catch you
