- 1:49Speaker 1: there we are. We are here. Like I said before,
- 1:51Speaker 1: I know, everyone's wondering whether you're talking about why it's
- 1:54Speaker 1: been sitting down and not standing up because this is
- 1:58Speaker 1: a brand new verse of the four All Nerds show
- 2:03Speaker 1: to tired. I mean that's also the case. That's also true,
- 2:07Speaker 1: you know, but nah, I'm not tired. I'm quite energetic,
- 2:10Speaker 1: quite happy, excited to be here because this is the
- 2:13Speaker 1: new version what we are calling Top five, the Top five,
- 2:19Speaker 1: you know. I mean you've probably seen the movie with
- 2:21Speaker 1: Chris Rock and everybody talks top five that are alive,
- 2:24Speaker 1: all those types of things. But that's what this is.
- 2:27Speaker 1: This is the Top five where we will be discussing
- 2:31Speaker 1: Top five of all kinds of things. You know, who
- 2:34Speaker 1: knows what the top five will be during different weeks tonights.
- 2:39Speaker 1: This one is going to cause some controversy. I do believe.
- 2:43Speaker 3: I'm ready.
- 2:44Speaker 1: I like to argue, you know, and just in case,
- 2:47Speaker 1: people thought. You know, we've been all on our political
- 2:50Speaker 1: issue whatever. We getting back to just you know, talking
- 2:52Speaker 1: about some mcuh top five all time film exactly exactly.
- 3:02Speaker 3: And also, don't get a twisted I'm still talk political.
- 3:05Speaker 2: I mean, if you don't like it, you can lurk
- 3:07Speaker 2: in the comments and keep watching and thank you for
- 3:10Speaker 2: the view, appreciate you.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Love you. But yes, today we will be talking our
- 3:14Speaker 1: top five MCU films. You know, we're just going to
- 3:17Speaker 1: keep it to the films, not all the various Disney
- 3:20Speaker 1: Plus series, even the Netflix series. I guess you got
- 3:22Speaker 1: to include them. Now, this does include the Sony Verse
- 3:27Speaker 1: some of it. You know, if it made it, it
- 3:28Speaker 1: made it, you know pretty much. I was consider it.
- 3:31Speaker 3: Was a connection partnership, said this time and putting.
- 3:37Speaker 1: One of the Fantastic Four films in this one. But
- 3:40Speaker 1: I actually almost put the Fantastic Four coming out next
- 3:43Speaker 1: year because that's how much faith I have in that joint.
- 3:46Speaker 3: I mean, that's a lot of faith the sight unseen
- 3:48Speaker 3: for you to be.
- 3:50Speaker 1: Add that ships fab You see Galatus in the back
- 3:52Speaker 1: right here, you know what I mean. If they get
- 3:54Speaker 1: my dog up in here, that's all I need, you know,
- 3:57Speaker 1: it's my favoritt films of all time.
- 3:58Speaker 2: Got you alone on the trailer, Bro, they got they
- 4:02Speaker 2: got ten tickets out of you.
- 4:03Speaker 1: Off off rip, Sam. I am so there, like y'all
- 4:07Speaker 1: have no idea.
- 4:08Speaker 2: All right, so you say top five MCU and so
- 4:10Speaker 2: and because it stuck to the movies, just me myself personally.
- 4:13Speaker 1: We're not doing any series. We'll do another episode where
- 4:17Speaker 1: we do the series. Right now. This is just the
- 4:19Speaker 1: films and we're gonna do our top five. Mine are
- 4:23Speaker 1: kind of you know, five to one, you know, top
- 4:27Speaker 1: down and just has five you know, her top general.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Because I was not going to embarrass myself and try
- 4:32Speaker 2: to rank them in precedents and order, because I know
- 4:35Speaker 2: the moment I hear this back and be.
- 4:37Speaker 3: Like you stupid, that's wrong, and I'm gonna want to
- 4:40Speaker 3: fix it. Like no, I'm I'm going to say it.
- 4:43Speaker 1: This is a like once I started, I was like, oh,
- 4:45Speaker 1: I know what I'm my top five are and then
- 4:47Speaker 1: I pulled up the Wikipedia list of all the joints
- 4:50Speaker 1: and I was like, no, I don't know my top five.
- 4:53Speaker 1: So first let's say, well, both talk about our honorable
- 4:57Speaker 1: mentions films that did not make the top five.
- 5:00Speaker 2: I want to be clear at least about what I
- 5:01Speaker 2: put on this. So it's two things I want to
- 5:03Speaker 2: be clear about.
- 5:03Speaker 1: So one sounds like a caveat already.
- 5:05Speaker 3: It's a cop it is. It is.
- 5:06Speaker 2: It's a caveat because this don't mean like the film
- 5:10Speaker 2: was not incredible or not good or anything like that.
- 5:13Speaker 2: It's just there was something about it that made me mad,
- 5:17Speaker 2: to say the least, right at least for me where
- 5:20Speaker 2: I placed it into the Honora Mentions. I don't know
- 5:22Speaker 2: about you or something about it where I'm like, if
- 5:24Speaker 2: it didn't make me mad or it's just something like
- 5:26Speaker 2: I thought it was phenomenal, but I just had more
- 5:29Speaker 2: reverence for the other ones.
- 5:31Speaker 1: Yeah, that I would go with that. For mine, it
- 5:33Speaker 1: wasn't that made me mad, cause these are all pretty
- 5:36Speaker 1: much exceptional films and my Honorable Mentions. I was like,
- 5:39Speaker 1: it's people mad, you know, and I felt I felt mad,
- 5:43Speaker 1: you know. I kind of made myself mad. I was like,
- 5:45Speaker 1: damn disrespectful.
- 5:47Speaker 2: I found this list actually, And this is the second
- 5:49Speaker 2: point I want to make. I foun this list funny
- 5:50Speaker 2: because you and I have the verse list. Your Honorable
- 5:53Speaker 2: mentions are my top five, My top five of your
- 5:55Speaker 2: honorable mentions. So I was like, if anyone's gonna be argument,
- 5:57Speaker 2: it's gonna be me and you gonna me and you bud.
- 6:00Speaker 1: All right, well bring your honorable mentions first. Let's I've
- 6:03Speaker 1: not looked at them, so all right, I don't.
- 6:04Speaker 2: Have a lot on here. There's obviously the obviously bad movies.
- 6:07Speaker 2: I'm not even gonna mention, right, but the honorable mentions.
- 6:09Speaker 2: This one's gonna pisch y'all off. It is what it is,
- 6:12Speaker 2: Wakanda forever.
- 6:13Speaker 3: Now.
- 6:14Speaker 2: I put this out of an honorable mention because, first
- 6:17Speaker 2: of all, just about almost anything black, I'm going to support.
- 6:22Speaker 3: This shit went hard. I appreciate it.
- 6:25Speaker 2: Coo coo, God went hard. Everything about it was incredible.
- 6:29Speaker 2: I love Sherry stepping up and the whole cast. Angela
- 6:32Speaker 2: bast should have won that, damn Oscar. I will say
- 6:35Speaker 2: that to my grave. But y'all killed Romanda. I will
- 6:42Speaker 2: never ever forget. I understand the reasons. I understand the writing.
- 6:49Speaker 3: Cool Romanda, queen mother. I remember being.
- 6:56Speaker 2: At that press screening where I sat there like like this,
- 7:01Speaker 2: like full blown, like I felt like I wanted to
- 7:05Speaker 2: hurt somebody, Reminda off some drowned. What I just I
- 7:16Speaker 2: as you can see, I'm so mad about that, and
- 7:18Speaker 2: that's why the copyat earlier I no, I will never forgive.
- 7:23Speaker 2: I will never forget, never forgive for that. So that's
- 7:27Speaker 2: one of my honorable mentions. Wakanda Forever. My other honorable
- 7:30Speaker 2: mention was Captain America Civil War Again, phenomenal movie in general.
- 7:36Speaker 2: I wanted to make sure I mentioned it even though
- 7:38Speaker 2: it wasn't my top five because the best group, best team,
- 7:41Speaker 2: battle giving Smash Brothers, giving everything I ever wanted to see,
- 7:47Speaker 2: like proper generally proper positioning of power sets and what
- 7:51Speaker 2: Niggas is doing and the imagination behind it, like it
- 7:54Speaker 2: looked like like watching animation, you know, or if I
- 7:57Speaker 2: want to watch an animation of them fighting the Marvel
- 8:00Speaker 2: Catchers anyway, fighting.
- 8:01Speaker 3: And what it could what they could pull off from
- 8:03Speaker 3: a live action perspective, they did that, and to really
- 8:06Speaker 3: just see like Niggas was beef like for real.
- 8:10Speaker 2: They supposed to be family, what the news will say family,
- 8:14Speaker 2: and they was beefing like a motherfucker, and like I
- 8:18Speaker 2: won't forget that.
- 8:19Speaker 3: So that's why those were in my honorable mentions.
- 8:22Speaker 1: Well, there we go. Your honorable mentions mine are I
- 8:25Speaker 1: wanted to give a shout out to the whole Guardians
- 8:28Speaker 1: of Galaxy trilogy just because it did not make my
- 8:31Speaker 1: top five, and it hurt me. Did not do that.
- 8:33Speaker 1: Black Panther and Wakanda Forever both one and two also,
- 8:38Speaker 1: surprisingly for me, at least did not make my top five.
- 8:42Speaker 3: This is where we're getting mad at you.
- 8:44Speaker 1: It was not because of Ramanda's death. I'm not one
- 8:48Speaker 1: of the people. I mean, just the other that I was
- 8:50Speaker 1: obnoestly thinking about shout out to my brother Chadwick and
- 8:53Speaker 1: rest in peace to him. That the time when I
- 8:56Speaker 1: was at the press junket for the first Black Panther
- 9:00Speaker 1: and I walked up to talk to Chadwick as it
- 9:03Speaker 1: was ending and he introduces me quickly to Angela Bassett,
- 9:08Speaker 1: and I was like, that's not gonna happen again, Maine.
- 9:11Speaker 1: I mean, one because Chadwick here, and two because Angela
- 9:13Speaker 1: ain't gonna be in no more Marvel movies. So that
- 9:16Speaker 1: hurt me. But you know, at least it did happen.
- 9:19Speaker 1: Hurt so, you know, shout out to both of them,
- 9:21Speaker 1: and that hurts for me that they they're not making it.
- 9:24Speaker 2: But this is where this is where my anger stood
- 9:28Speaker 2: when what kind ofever understood?
- 9:30Speaker 3: But the original Black Panther twenty eighteen. What you're gonna
- 9:34Speaker 3: have to defend out one, my brother, because.
- 9:37Speaker 1: It's just not in the top five.
- 9:39Speaker 2: I'm not going to go into my reasons why I
- 9:41Speaker 2: love it. I just want it because we're gonna get there.
- 9:43Speaker 3: Why it's all right.
- 9:47Speaker 1: The thing is it could easily get in there. It
- 9:50Speaker 1: could easily be in the top five. It's just like
- 9:53Speaker 1: you said earlier. It's I don't know, because it is
- 9:56Speaker 1: one of my favorite joints.
- 9:58Speaker 3: But why isn't the top five? My brother, you got
- 10:00Speaker 3: to be able to think.
- 10:01Speaker 1: I think it might have been sullied by just everything
- 10:05Speaker 1: that's happened with the Black Panther franchise ever since. Yeah, anyway,
- 10:09Speaker 1: it's not in my top five. So and also Honorba mentioned.
- 10:13Speaker 3: Too this was you didn't make it, brother, PhD.
- 10:27Speaker 1: I'm not getting up pad and not in you know,
- 10:29Speaker 1: attacking and breaking down Black Panther. You know, I'm not
- 10:32Speaker 1: turning in my black Yeah, I'm not turning in my
- 10:36Speaker 1: black art like that. It is. It is right there,
- 10:38Speaker 1: And the problem is because you've already mentioned Civil War
- 10:42Speaker 1: you know which is in my top five, and you
- 10:43Speaker 1: already broke down kind of most of what I really
- 10:46Speaker 1: love about it. It's kind of like, well, damn, but
- 10:48Speaker 1: I'm not. I'm still sticking to it. Spider Man Far
- 10:51Speaker 1: from Home is the last one that I wanted to
- 10:53Speaker 1: mention because I loved Jake Jillenhall's performance in it.
- 10:57Speaker 3: Oh yes, mystereo.
- 10:58Speaker 1: Yes, I love a cat, Yeah, I love I love
- 11:03Speaker 1: all three of the Spider Man films. They're also you know,
- 11:06Speaker 1: it's tough for me that they're not in my top
- 11:08Speaker 1: five because those are some of my favorites. I love Tom,
- 11:10Speaker 1: I love Jake, Zendaya, everyone in those films, and that
- 11:14Speaker 1: one is my favorite of the three.
- 11:15Speaker 3: So okay, but it was still honorable.
- 11:18Speaker 1: It's still honorable mention. It does not make it, and
- 11:21Speaker 1: it's it's one of these things, like I said when
- 11:23Speaker 1: I went to the Wikipedia, all of these could be
- 11:25Speaker 1: in the top five on any given Sunday. So you know,
- 11:29Speaker 1: today when we're recording this, these are.
- 11:31Speaker 3: My top five and might change next week.
- 11:35Speaker 1: It could, like I say, Black Panther could be in
- 11:37Speaker 1: there any day of the week. Spider Man Far from
- 11:40Speaker 1: Home could be in there any day of the week,
- 11:42Speaker 1: it could easily knock out most of these. I'd say
- 11:45Speaker 1: Captain American Civil War in my top five is the
- 11:48Speaker 1: one that could most easily get replaced by Black Panther
- 11:52Speaker 1: any of the films. I already mentioned that being said,
- 11:55Speaker 1: let's get into the top five. You want to go
- 11:58Speaker 1: I'm a kick. I think this is both on both
- 12:02Speaker 1: of our list, and it's my number five, and it's
- 12:04Speaker 1: in game Avengers in game, and it's just one of
- 12:09Speaker 1: the most emotional experiences I've ever had in a movie theater,
- 12:13Speaker 1: Like I will never forget scot Lane finding his daughter
- 12:19Speaker 1: and saying, You've grown so big, and I'm just bursting
- 12:23Speaker 1: into tears, you know, like I lost it. And then
- 12:27Speaker 1: when it was over, I just remember, you know, we
- 12:29Speaker 1: went to have lunch and we're sitting there Jamie Righetti,
- 12:34Speaker 1: you know, and it was just like exhausted, you know,
- 12:36Speaker 1: it's like ten years of Marvel storytelling, and then they
- 12:40Speaker 1: stuck the landing. I have, you know, minor quibbles with Endgame,
- 12:45Speaker 1: but I've rewatched them so many times, both Infinity War
- 12:48Speaker 1: and in game, and those minor quibbles are super minor.
- 12:52Speaker 3: If it felt like the Popeye's lady at the end
- 12:55Speaker 3: of a shift.
- 12:56Speaker 1: The man straight up. I felt like the Avengers when
- 13:00Speaker 1: they're eating trauma after the first Avenger movie, when they're
- 13:03Speaker 1: all sitting there eating trauma, just like, yo, what the fuck?
- 13:06Speaker 1: We just you know, that's exactly how you felt at
- 13:09Speaker 1: the end of End Game, and it was just like,
- 13:12Speaker 1: thinking about it now, it's no perfection. And it also
- 13:14Speaker 1: it's like, like you said about Civil War. It's also
- 13:17Speaker 1: one of those films that contained some of my favorite
- 13:19Speaker 1: superhero fights of all time, like Wanda whooping on Thanos's ass,
- 13:25Speaker 1: kept the Marma whooping on his ass, you know, thor
- 13:28Speaker 1: realizing that Captain America is worthy to hold Joanna. It's
- 13:33Speaker 1: like all these moments, man like, even though I think
- 13:37Speaker 1: the the women coming together as a big corny, I know,
- 13:41Speaker 1: you know, it really inspired young women out there who
- 13:43Speaker 1: loved it. And even though I thought it was a
- 13:45Speaker 1: big corny, it's still fire, you know what I mean,
- 13:48Speaker 1: It's still parts of that scene was still fire, like
- 13:50Speaker 1: the women whipping up on when Wanda shows up and
- 13:54Speaker 1: whoops up on one of Thanos's children, you know, and
- 13:57Speaker 1: what's the name is?
- 13:57Speaker 2: Like, why was she up there all the time, like alright, right, right, now,
- 14:01Speaker 2: get you There's.
- 14:02Speaker 1: So many, It's just I could go on all day.
- 14:04Speaker 1: So yeah, Avengers game.
- 14:05Speaker 2: Since you mentioned it is also on my list and
- 14:08Speaker 2: game I put in.
- 14:09Speaker 3: I put in my little notes. I cried harder because
- 14:13Speaker 3: I cried another one, but I.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Cried harder on this and for the reasons you've stated
- 14:17Speaker 2: about the deepness of emotion and for three words on
- 14:24Speaker 2: your left, I hear that, and I'm balling into it.
- 14:28Speaker 3: Don't matter where I am, I hear that shit.
- 14:30Speaker 2: I'll be like god, damn like the sheer magnitude of
- 14:36Speaker 2: Captain America doing everything he could possibly do, as you mentioned,
- 14:42Speaker 2: so worthy of all of this shit, so honorable.
- 14:44Speaker 3: You got millionre on your like you do.
- 14:47Speaker 2: You was broke down, You was down bad, all your
- 14:51Speaker 2: troops done, all your support gone, your heeler dead, your
- 14:57Speaker 2: tank out of here, everybody, your limit break nothing, nothing,
- 15:04Speaker 2: you got nothing HP at one on your left.
- 15:11Speaker 3: Do you know what that feeling?
- 15:12Speaker 2: And I'm using every analogy for my gaming because do
- 15:16Speaker 2: you know that feeling?
- 15:17Speaker 3: Like I use like like.
- 15:19Speaker 2: You playing Final Fantasy and you on that one motherfucking
- 15:22Speaker 2: boss any game really at this point, but you're on that.
- 15:26Speaker 3: One boss where you fucking played that.
- 15:29Speaker 2: Boss twenty three times you've done, and it's been like
- 15:34Speaker 2: thirty minute long intervals with trying to beat this boss,
- 15:37Speaker 2: and it's always you get close, or you do, you
- 15:40Speaker 2: get you get real far. You do so much effort
- 15:43Speaker 2: and time and strategy, and your ass.
- 15:46Speaker 3: Still don't make it.
- 15:46Speaker 2: But then you finally this one time, that one time
- 15:48Speaker 2: when you on your last goddamn leg, and you just
- 15:51Speaker 2: like it's one fucking combo.
- 15:54Speaker 3: Way damn nigga showed up the whole everybody who gotta
- 15:59Speaker 3: fitish the faded came back.
- 16:02Speaker 2: There's there's nothing like that feeling the mc You cannot
- 16:08Speaker 2: recreate that. I'm gonna have to argue with somebody. I
- 16:11Speaker 2: do not think that's recreatable. No, it's it's not even Yes,
- 16:16Speaker 2: it's a culmination of ten years, and yes there's been
- 16:18Speaker 2: two things since, but there's there's too much history, there's too.
- 16:23Speaker 3: Much energy, there's too much psychic ability.
- 16:26Speaker 2: It's it's it's incomparable to any feeling that you've seen
- 16:31Speaker 2: in cinema, particularly for MCU and in just a cinema
- 16:35Speaker 2: in general too. For for someone who's a fan of
- 16:37Speaker 2: such genres, and things like this and these types of stories.
- 16:40Speaker 1: Like it's never been done before, and it's you know,
- 16:43Speaker 1: I seeing so and I don't I don't expect them
- 16:45Speaker 1: to do it again, and I don't think they should.
- 16:47Speaker 1: I think that's a bad idea to try and chase that.
- 16:49Speaker 1: You know, you do different things, Yeah, because you can't.
- 16:52Speaker 1: You can't do that again. You know, that's hard.
- 16:54Speaker 2: There is to it, And like you said, just just
- 16:56Speaker 2: just obviously coming then, you know, off of what we
- 16:59Speaker 2: saw before, Like it was from like I said, I said,
- 17:01Speaker 2: I cried harder in this Infinity War. I cried, And
- 17:04Speaker 2: we'll get into that later, but this was just the
- 17:07Speaker 2: ps of resistance and maybe this if I was doing
- 17:10Speaker 2: this in order, this probably would have been my number
- 17:12Speaker 2: one because of the way I'm fucking glazing it. But
- 17:15Speaker 2: when I say this was the most incredible thing I've
- 17:19Speaker 2: ever seen from out of the NCU, yeah, it's in
- 17:22Speaker 2: my top five.
- 17:24Speaker 3: One Infinity War where I cried, it was so in
- 17:27Speaker 3: a fucking, really truly high stakes.
- 17:30Speaker 2: Not to say it's never happened, but I'm talking about
- 17:31Speaker 2: in my experience of really watching it, when shit is
- 17:34Speaker 2: really super fucking high stakes and everybody's back is against
- 17:37Speaker 2: the wall, and you're like, they're gonna make They're gonna
- 17:39Speaker 2: make it.
- 17:40Speaker 3: And the niggas do not make it. They George R. Martin,
- 17:45Speaker 3: every nigga there.
- 17:47Speaker 2: It was be I don't know what is the level
- 17:49Speaker 2: of beyond disappointment despair. I've never felt that amount of
- 17:56Speaker 2: despair for some freaking live action comic book heroes.
- 18:01Speaker 3: I said, what do you mean?
- 18:03Speaker 2: He snapped, what do you mean, Hokkani king cha'challah, it's potpourri?
- 18:11Speaker 3: What do you mean, mister Stark? I don't feel so good.
- 18:14Speaker 2: It was just the level of silence I have never
- 18:18Speaker 2: I was in that theater with two hundred people, man, woman, child, dog,
- 18:23Speaker 2: I ain't never heard no type of silence like that.
- 18:26Speaker 2: You would have thought the whole audience got infinity faded
- 18:29Speaker 2: the way that when that shit went to black Banno's won.
- 18:34Speaker 3: I that when it comes to just depth of.
- 18:42Speaker 2: Understanding of hope being snatched from you and you sitting
- 18:46Speaker 2: there like soul what now? Like? I just I never
- 18:51Speaker 2: felt so lost like I was looking at my partner.
- 18:55Speaker 2: I'm my partner, my my neighbor. I said, oh, what
- 18:58Speaker 2: the fuck a we're gonna do now? Maybe if we
- 19:00Speaker 2: sit down to the end credits, you know, we'll get
- 19:02Speaker 2: a glimpse. No Niggas is gone, and there's nothing you
- 19:05Speaker 2: can do about it. And that was the part, as
- 19:07Speaker 2: someone who's very much about control, that's nothing I can
- 19:10Speaker 2: do about it, not to say. And now that's not
- 19:13Speaker 2: necessarily hard to recreate that feeling of like shared despair,
- 19:16Speaker 2: but for the amount of ca and that's the thing,
- 19:19Speaker 2: the number, the number of characters and people and things
- 19:24Speaker 2: that that outwardly and inwardly affected, you know, mentally, socially
- 19:30Speaker 2: the world of the MCU literally like Niggas being blited
- 19:34Speaker 2: for five years, like that whole situation was out of control.
- 19:38Speaker 3: Like that was the craziest I ever seen.
- 19:40Speaker 1: So if anyone, Daniel's never snaps his finger twice in
- 19:43Speaker 1: the comic book, so he's not gonna snap his fingers
- 19:45Speaker 1: because it's.
- 19:46Speaker 3: Not And also it cheapens it.
- 19:47Speaker 2: You can't just be snapping, you know, you're doing smooth
- 19:50Speaker 2: jazz and R and B.
- 19:51Speaker 3: Like, you can't just be doing that. It's a one
- 19:53Speaker 3: time deal.
- 19:54Speaker 1: Now I did have mine in a bit of order,
- 19:57Speaker 1: and now I'm going not to spoil mind be we're
- 20:00Speaker 1: talking Infinity War and Infinity War is my number one
- 20:05Speaker 1: film of d MCU, you know, just because all the
- 20:10Speaker 1: things you just mentioned, but more so even because as
- 20:13Speaker 1: a storytelling, as writing as a script, I just find
- 20:17Speaker 1: it to be fascinating and near perfect. I think it's
- 20:21Speaker 1: really incredible how it is a tragedy, because we often
- 20:26Speaker 1: know get to see this, and we break this down
- 20:28Speaker 1: a lot on the show as well, that most stories
- 20:32Speaker 1: that we see in media in general are in the
- 20:36Speaker 1: term of classical storytelling, their comedies, even if they're an
- 20:41Speaker 1: action movie or whatever. A comedy is a story where
- 20:44Speaker 1: the hero wins and it ends on an upbeat, and
- 20:48Speaker 1: a tragedy is a story where it ends on a
- 20:49Speaker 1: downbeat and the hero does not achieve their goals. And
- 20:53Speaker 1: so it's a very rarety to see that in media
- 20:56Speaker 1: because most things we see with a happy ending. And
- 21:00Speaker 1: then the other side of this is the other rarity
- 21:02Speaker 1: of this is that you don't get to see the
- 21:04Speaker 1: perspective of the antagonist, the typical antagonist becoming the protagonist,
- 21:11Speaker 1: and Thanos, who we would consider to be the villain
- 21:13Speaker 1: of this story, is still the protagonist. Stanos throws on
- 21:16Speaker 1: the mission, co lets the gems and snaps out of
- 21:18Speaker 1: half of the universe. So from Thanos' perspective, it's actually
- 21:22Speaker 1: a comedy because he wins. You know, from our perspective,
- 21:26Speaker 1: it's a tragedy. But from his perspective, he does exactly
- 21:29Speaker 1: what he set out to do in the beginning of
- 21:30Speaker 1: the movie, snap the universe out of a distance and
- 21:32Speaker 1: then sit down on my farm and cook some plantains.
- 21:35Speaker 3: And he had a great fucking day.
- 21:37Speaker 1: Man, he had a great day. Shit was popping, you
- 21:39Speaker 1: know it.
- 21:40Speaker 3: Commercial, you know, like he was so fucking happy.
- 21:43Speaker 1: Lakers beat the SuperSonics, you know what I mean. It
- 21:46Speaker 1: was all good. I didn't even know SuperSonics more. Lacers
- 21:48Speaker 1: beat the thunder, you know what I mean. It was great.
- 21:50Speaker 1: She was popping, they could beat the Celtics. Fucking so
- 21:53Speaker 1: Infinity four it's my number one joint because of that.
- 21:59Speaker 1: And just to you know, get people upset real quick,
- 22:05Speaker 1: I'm going to go ahead and oh no, I'm not
- 22:09Speaker 1: even gonna go to that one yet. I'm gonna go
- 22:11Speaker 1: to Captain America to first Avenger people mad. I don't know.
- 22:16Speaker 1: I don't feel like this film gets near the respect
- 22:19Speaker 1: it deserves.
- 22:20Speaker 2: It doesn't get that much respect. I will say that,
- 22:22Speaker 2: but I don't think people will be mad about that.
- 22:23Speaker 2: I know what the one people will be mad about.
- 22:25Speaker 1: Yeah, well they can, you know, yeah, pretty much. But
- 22:29Speaker 1: Captain America the First Avenger is one of my favorite
- 22:31Speaker 1: MCU films simply because it establishes so much that comes
- 22:36Speaker 1: up in all of the Captain America films, which you
- 22:39Speaker 1: know by relation, then goes into Infinity War and everything else,
- 22:44Speaker 1: and it just showed something another thing that we really
- 22:48Speaker 1: haven't seen done well. It showed how to do Superman,
- 22:51Speaker 1: and I hope that DC and James done take lessons
- 22:55Speaker 1: from this, because it showed how to take a character
- 22:57Speaker 1: who people consider a boi, sedout, a nerd, you know,
- 23:01Speaker 1: goodie two shoes, and make him into someone that everyone
- 23:04Speaker 1: loves and respects, and they become you know, Chris Evans
- 23:08Speaker 1: of the fantastic job of doing it. But the script
- 23:10Speaker 1: once again, and this is why I'm more excited for
- 23:14Speaker 1: Avengers Doomsday and Avenger Sekret War than I ever was
- 23:17Speaker 1: in the past, not because of Robert Downey returning, but
- 23:20Speaker 1: because the script writers from Captain America on through the
- 23:23Speaker 1: First Street Captain America's who also the Infinity War and
- 23:26Speaker 1: Endgame are returning and.
- 23:28Speaker 2: The Captain America series has been solid, And to your point,
- 23:31Speaker 2: I don't think enough people have given it it's due
- 23:34Speaker 2: in terms of respecting like how solid and.
- 23:37Speaker 3: Good it is.
- 23:38Speaker 1: It's like to me, it's battling for best trilogy ever,
- 23:42Speaker 1: you know, like in terms of you know, when you
- 23:44Speaker 1: talk of great trilogys, you talk to put like when
- 23:48Speaker 1: you talk of Lord of the Rings, you know, Star Wars.
- 23:51Speaker 2: I concur I will back you up on that, because yeah,
- 23:55Speaker 2: when you look at it as a even individually, yes, obviously,
- 23:58Speaker 2: but when you look at it as a whole peace
- 24:01Speaker 2: it from a from a technical perspective, it's it's well done, like,
- 24:07Speaker 2: it's well written.
- 24:08Speaker 3: It makes sense in like I.
- 24:11Speaker 2: Said, and this is just technical, right, it just makes
- 24:13Speaker 2: sense in how things happen and why things happen, and
- 24:16Speaker 2: and and obviously there's the creativity behind it. And then
- 24:20Speaker 2: to your point, it's the catalyst for everything else. Like
- 24:24Speaker 2: I don't want to say anything's ever perfect, but it's
- 24:26Speaker 2: the perfect understanding of how to build a character from
- 24:29Speaker 2: scratch within the MEMCU anyway, how to build a character
- 24:32Speaker 2: from scratch. You mentioned that it's also a great archetype
- 24:35Speaker 2: for potentially other characters such as Superman. But I just
- 24:38Speaker 2: think they truly build like the body, the heart, and
- 24:42Speaker 2: soul of a character within the three and they do
- 24:44Speaker 2: it in a way that is fun and if you
- 24:49Speaker 2: actually want to fuck with the character. And I think
- 24:51Speaker 2: to your point, that's why it's actually one of the
- 24:53Speaker 2: strongest trilogies.
- 24:54Speaker 1: And then they're all different, and that's why I love
- 24:57Speaker 1: The First Avenger so much, because it's tone is so
- 25:00Speaker 1: different from Winter Soldier, and people always bring up Winter Soldier.
- 25:03Speaker 1: It's like, oh, the greatest and to me, the First Avenger.
- 25:06Speaker 1: You can't have Winter Soldier without First Avenger because you
- 25:09Speaker 1: can't have it without doing that different tone where it's
- 25:12Speaker 1: this World War one World War two thing where it's
- 25:14Speaker 1: kind of like, yeah, let's go you know joy, yeah,
- 25:19Speaker 1: and that goofiness, but also acknowledging that it is propaganda
- 25:22Speaker 1: and all this. And then it just has like some
- 25:26Speaker 1: of the best casting as well, because Peggy Carter is
- 25:29Speaker 1: introducing that, and my love for her just goes, you know,
- 25:33Speaker 1: to all day and I think she's Yeah, I think
- 25:35Speaker 1: she's phenomenal in the film. You know, I love strong
- 25:39Speaker 1: women action heroes and I think that just establishes her
- 25:42Speaker 1: as that and it's just so well done. And then
- 25:46Speaker 1: Bucky's introduction and the loss of Bucky, which then carries
- 25:50Speaker 1: in the Winter Soldier and then all the way into
- 25:52Speaker 1: Civil War. You know, it's just like that. It's just
- 25:55Speaker 1: such a great trilogy.
- 25:56Speaker 2: It's an incredible foundation, is deep rooted in the lore
- 26:01Speaker 2: of them to you obviously, and you already mentioned him,
- 26:05Speaker 2: but I also want to say him because I fuck
- 26:06Speaker 2: with him.
- 26:07Speaker 3: Chris Evans. Chris Evans.
- 26:09Speaker 2: That's the reason, Like there's there's and there's not going
- 26:13Speaker 2: to be a Captain. I don't even know they would
- 26:15Speaker 2: ever do Captain America again in any capacity that we know, like, well,
- 26:19Speaker 2: we already know he's technically dead or he's just he's
- 26:22Speaker 2: he's Joe Biden.
- 26:22Speaker 3: Now I don't know, but.
- 26:25Speaker 1: Oh, Chris Evans will come back.
- 26:27Speaker 3: That's I was thinking about the old Captain, you know,
- 26:30Speaker 3: when he turned.
- 26:30Speaker 1: Over, he's he's done, he's done to get his youth
- 26:34Speaker 1: back somehow, someway.
- 26:35Speaker 2: Okay, yeah, well, I just and he's also one of
- 26:38Speaker 2: them people. I feel like not to say that no
- 26:39Speaker 2: one else could ever play, but he's one of them
- 26:41Speaker 2: ones as be like, nah, that's Captain America, like the
- 26:44Speaker 2: ones where I feel like, like how we always say
- 26:46Speaker 2: r DJ is Tony Stark is iron Man, Like.
- 26:51Speaker 1: I mean, in my opinion, I don't think any of
- 26:52Speaker 1: these characters should ever be recast, you know.
- 26:54Speaker 2: And that was just you know, I'm just saying, but yeah.
- 27:00Speaker 1: Unless you're gonna have Denzel Washington play T'Challa not to Chaka, no, no,
- 27:05Speaker 1: I mean straight up to'challa, say nothing about it. You know,
- 27:08Speaker 1: Denzel just shows up with his Brooklyn accid.
- 27:11Speaker 3: Oh like like a like the Nu m vib you
- 27:13Speaker 3: just show up and.
- 27:15Speaker 1: Show up suddenly the niggas alive again, you know, just
- 27:19Speaker 1: fuck it if we're gonna go there.
- 27:21Speaker 2: You know, I mean they might do something like that
- 27:24Speaker 2: like how they did with Deadpool. How like niggas just
- 27:27Speaker 2: show you know, the multiverse niggas just show up, like
- 27:30Speaker 2: they take the mask off. They said, well, if this
- 27:31Speaker 2: was in the nineties, remember have you ever seen this,
- 27:34Speaker 2: like it's old mad old me where they were like
- 27:37Speaker 2: if this ship was casting them, she was casting.
- 27:39Speaker 3: A yeah yeah, yeah yeah, and they had Denzel as to.
- 27:42Speaker 1: Oh yeah yeah definitely.
- 27:44Speaker 2: No.
- 27:44Speaker 1: I mean just you know, because everybody cares that, you know,
- 27:47Speaker 1: you know, I'm just want to hurt people anyway. What's
- 27:49Speaker 1: your next one?
- 27:50Speaker 3: Oh, Spider Man, No Way Home. That's the third one.
- 27:54Speaker 2: That's the one, uh where we got the famous real
- 27:59Speaker 2: life pointing at each other meme and all the other stuff,
- 28:01Speaker 2: the Spider Man pointing at each other. I'm a Spider
- 28:03Speaker 2: Man stand in general. Like I grew up watching the cartoons.
- 28:09Speaker 2: Anything Spider Man related I probably knew about or really
- 28:12Speaker 2: fucked with it when I got older, you know, learn
- 28:14Speaker 2: about the comic books and stuff like that. But really
- 28:16Speaker 2: it was about the animation and like all the different characters,
- 28:19Speaker 2: and then obviously Spider Verse and everything, and really Spider
- 28:23Speaker 2: Man No Way Home being able to benefit from sorry
- 28:28Speaker 2: for the pump, the web of media when it comes
- 28:32Speaker 2: to Spider Man, right, like all the different versions of
- 28:34Speaker 2: Spider Man, all the different multiversal approaches of Spider Man.
- 28:38Speaker 3: Spider Verse itself is a monster.
- 28:41Speaker 2: Right, So to have like this really intricate expression of
- 28:48Speaker 2: this character in so many different ways, and then they
- 28:50Speaker 2: pull it all together and then you see, like my
- 28:53Speaker 2: I see my childhood, I see the Andrew Garfield, I
- 28:55Speaker 2: see the what's his other name? Toby maguire, you know,
- 28:59Speaker 2: like that shit. I was fucking blown away seeing that
- 29:02Speaker 2: and really, you know, seeing that in the first time
- 29:03Speaker 2: in the theater, seeing Toby a Spider Man, that Nigga
- 29:06Speaker 2: he was flying in the air like in the Sony
- 29:08Speaker 2: in the in the game, you know, like the games
- 29:10Speaker 2: that we all know in love now, like we ain't
- 29:13Speaker 2: never seen no shit like that in a movie like
- 29:17Speaker 2: that Nigga was doing he was doing in the cartoons,
- 29:19Speaker 2: but in live action, so it had all the nostalgia
- 29:23Speaker 2: that I needed.
- 29:24Speaker 3: Obviously, again I'm a Spider Man standing that way.
- 29:27Speaker 2: I just enjoyed it, like I was happy, Like it
- 29:29Speaker 2: gave me this sense of happiness and joy as I
- 29:32Speaker 2: was watching it. Every scene I was just like refreshing,
- 29:37Speaker 2: or you know, in the words of Yhana, I'm satisfied,
- 29:39Speaker 2: Like I just I'm just very very happy throughout the
- 29:44Speaker 2: entirety of it. I do agree with you on the
- 29:47Speaker 2: second one, Like you know, Jake, his role was fucking amazing.
- 29:50Speaker 2: I liked his mysterio. That shit was fire. But just
- 29:53Speaker 2: as like, in terms of which of those three that
- 29:55Speaker 2: I like the absolute most and what I considered like
- 29:57Speaker 2: really top five shit Spider Man way Home.
- 30:00Speaker 1: Mhm. My issue with No Way Home is the one
- 30:06Speaker 1: thing that I do and I and it is when
- 30:08Speaker 1: I rewatch it, especially at home, is that when it's
- 30:13Speaker 1: the movie stops a lot so you can applause, you know.
- 30:17Speaker 2: That.
- 30:18Speaker 1: And that's the problem with Deadpool and Wolverine, which does
- 30:20Speaker 1: it way worse. Like No Way Home is definitely infinitely better,
- 30:24Speaker 1: infinitely better than dead Pool Wolverine in that aspect, but
- 30:28Speaker 1: it still suffers from it because when them dudes come
- 30:30Speaker 1: through the portals, it is like there's a moment of
- 30:33Speaker 1: silence their meal, like waiting for you to applaud, you know.
- 30:38Speaker 1: And in the theater it was insane, like I'm screaming,
- 30:41Speaker 1: jumping out of my seat, you know, like oh ship,
- 30:43Speaker 1: they pulled it off, you know. But then when I
- 30:45Speaker 1: watch it the home, there is that. But then there's
- 30:47Speaker 1: also the moments, you know, the little moments like Doc Art,
- 30:51Speaker 1: you know, telling him it's good to see you get
- 30:54Speaker 1: my boy, you.
- 30:54Speaker 2: Know, like fuck nostalgia, like yeah, yeah, the hair standing
- 31:01Speaker 2: on a type stuff.
- 31:02Speaker 3: I was like, like the whole Aunt May thing that
- 31:05Speaker 3: that broke me.
- 31:05Speaker 1: I'm gonna I.
- 31:06Speaker 3: Ain't gonna hold you.
- 31:07Speaker 2: That shit broke me. That moment anyway, how she how
- 31:10Speaker 2: they took her out, Like I was like, again they
- 31:13Speaker 2: did one of them others like this ship is not
- 31:14Speaker 2: supposed to happen like moments.
- 31:16Speaker 1: You know, that was a bit dulled for me, just
- 31:18Speaker 1: I mean it was still, you know, effective, but I'd
- 31:20Speaker 1: already played The Spider Man PS. Four when they merked
- 31:24Speaker 1: aunt May spoilers for like I don't know how many
- 31:26Speaker 1: years old yeah late now, Yeah, but they merk at May,
- 31:30Speaker 1: and they merk on May in a way even more
- 31:32Speaker 1: so like where it was like I can't believe y'all
- 31:36Speaker 1: niggas really did that. You know, it was just it
- 31:38Speaker 1: was the exact it was. The choice was made to
- 31:41Speaker 1: save the city or save a May. And you're like, well,
- 31:44Speaker 1: he's gonna save all May. This is Peter Parker. You know,
- 31:46Speaker 1: he gonna have to sacrifice some few regular people, you
- 31:49Speaker 1: know to save all May. Like nope, he doesn't, and
- 31:52Speaker 1: all May dies. And that was yeah. So because of that,
- 31:56Speaker 1: I still go with a Jade's joint, I.
- 31:59Speaker 2: Feel again just from I think it was fan service
- 32:02Speaker 2: dealt well, especially for an anime fan. You know a
- 32:05Speaker 2: lot about fan service, but this this was done. This
- 32:09Speaker 2: is probably the best way you can come out on
- 32:12Speaker 2: this on this side, but all.
- 32:15Speaker 1: Also for my top five, like I said this, so
- 32:19Speaker 1: this is pretty much finishing it up for me. I
- 32:21Speaker 1: will mention, you know, Captain American Civil War because, like
- 32:24Speaker 1: you said, you know, one of the greatest, if not
- 32:26Speaker 1: the greatest superhero battle of all time. To me, it's
- 32:29Speaker 1: all the little things. It's like Black Panther running faster
- 32:33Speaker 1: than anyone, you know, other than like Cap. You know,
- 32:37Speaker 1: it's all it's the little speed things and things like that.
- 32:40Speaker 1: It's like Giant Man the way he moves compared to
- 32:42Speaker 1: the rest of them. All those little things, just so
- 32:46Speaker 1: much little stuff that I just loved it. But also
- 32:49Speaker 1: the fact that in this movie they managed to introduce
- 32:52Speaker 1: Black Panther and Spider Man. If people forget that, you know,
- 32:56Speaker 1: they reintroduced Spider Man to the MCU and they introduced
- 32:59Speaker 1: Black Panther in this film, and both of them have
- 33:02Speaker 1: fire ass introductions and you're in love with their characters immediately.
- 33:06Speaker 1: So Captain American Civil War gets and then to final
- 33:10Speaker 1: it up for that movie, it breaks down to, like
- 33:13Speaker 1: you said, that final fight between Iron Man and Cap
- 33:16Speaker 1: and that shit is like damn like the mcu is
- 33:19Speaker 1: really at you know edge now and these niggas friends,
- 33:23Speaker 1: you know, not I ain't friends no more. And it's
- 33:25Speaker 1: just like what the fun Man, you know, like y'all
- 33:28Speaker 1: was supposed to be buddies, and you know that's not
- 33:30Speaker 1: fixed until end game, you know what I mean. And
- 33:34Speaker 1: that's like that was that's a big but now.
- 33:37Speaker 2: Social political implications, yes, but now my final and the
- 33:43Speaker 2: one that's probably caused controversy.
- 33:44Speaker 1: But if you're a fan of this show, you already know.
- 33:47Speaker 1: Iron Man three just one of the greatest films of
- 33:51Speaker 1: all time, you know what I mean. Like to mean,
- 33:54Speaker 1: in fact, we're coming up on the holiday season, so
- 33:57Speaker 1: I'm definitely giving it the rewatch. You know, it's one
- 33:59Speaker 1: of my favorite Christmas movies, right up there with die
- 34:01Speaker 1: Hard iron Man three. Robert Downey does his best work
- 34:05Speaker 1: as Tony Stark in the Iron Man three. Well, these
- 34:09Speaker 1: are the Spider Man films. I think it's I think
- 34:11Speaker 1: it's his relation with you know, being a mentor that
- 34:13Speaker 1: really helps them, and the relationship between him, the mechanic
- 34:17Speaker 1: and the kid is just one of my favorites on
- 34:20Speaker 1: screen because you're so used to these little cute, smart
- 34:24Speaker 1: precocious kids showing up in films and the older people
- 34:29Speaker 1: just loving them. And it said you have Tony Start, alcoholic,
- 34:32Speaker 1: PTSD going through trauma. Yes, I mean that's clear. That
- 34:38Speaker 1: is the Tony Start that I grew up on in
- 34:40Speaker 1: the comic books. Like I've talked about this before, the
- 34:43Speaker 1: very first comments I grew up reading word Tony Start
- 34:46Speaker 1: going through the worst of the album. Yeah, he was
- 34:49Speaker 1: full on it was horrible shit. And this doesn't come
- 34:53Speaker 1: close to it. The cartoons, nothing has ever come close
- 34:55Speaker 1: to those comments. But just by them touching on it
- 34:58Speaker 1: like that, I was pretty high, you know. I was like, Yo,
- 35:01Speaker 1: this is is some you know, dope. And then just
- 35:03Speaker 1: his relationship with the kid and you know, him driving
- 35:07Speaker 1: off and leaving him in the cold, you know, like
- 35:10Speaker 1: my dad is.
- 35:11Speaker 2: Just did you did you love you some Sir Ben
- 35:16Speaker 2: Kingsley as man.
- 35:18Speaker 1: Yes, And that's another.
- 35:19Speaker 3: One regardless, I will say that.
- 35:23Speaker 1: And I'm one of those people where it's like I
- 35:26Speaker 1: am his af fans, you know, because I feel like
- 35:30Speaker 1: there's a lot of entitlement amongst fans and the idea
- 35:34Speaker 1: of telling creators what to do, or like the idea
- 35:37Speaker 1: that we have to see a character like Mandarin, who
- 35:40Speaker 1: is just ridiculously problematic, you know, I mean, just just
- 35:46Speaker 1: horribly problematic in their original incarnation. The idea, yeah, the
- 35:51Speaker 1: idea that we have to see this, you know, Asian
- 35:54Speaker 1: Man running around with rings on his fingers, you know,
- 35:58Speaker 1: blasting it iron Man like a damn gump. You know,
- 36:02Speaker 1: I didn't need to see that. So when Ben Kinsley
- 36:05Speaker 1: gets revealed and it's just pure comedy, I'm here for it.
- 36:09Speaker 1: And I know that that's another reason why I love
- 36:11Speaker 1: Iron Man three and why it hurts a lot of people.
- 36:14Speaker 1: But to me, it's like, nah, man, you can still
- 36:17Speaker 1: read those comments. I've like the acts of Vengeance when
- 36:21Speaker 1: Mandarin was firing Iron Man. That's some of my favorite issues.
- 36:25Speaker 1: They're still great, but this version fantastic. Top five.
- 36:31Speaker 2: Yeah, not my favor, yes, one one of the the
- 36:35Speaker 2: one Iron Man movie that I do not like Door
- 36:38Speaker 2: like the least, but still one of the hardest suit
- 36:41Speaker 2: up scenes. That's one thing they always try to one
- 36:44Speaker 2: up themselves with the Iron Man suit up scenes, and
- 36:47Speaker 2: that's when you.
- 36:47Speaker 3: Have the briefcase suit.
- 36:48Speaker 1: Right, No, that's too but that's two.
- 36:50Speaker 2: Okay, well then you don't get this one then, but uh,
- 36:53Speaker 2: but they.
- 36:54Speaker 1: Do keep a movie. Don't worry about it. You ain't
- 36:56Speaker 1: got it. You ain't got to defend. You ain't got
- 36:58Speaker 1: to defend three for.
- 36:59Speaker 2: Me, Well, no, I'm it's not defending. It's not defending.
- 37:01Speaker 2: It's not defending. I was, it's no defense whatsoever. It
- 37:04Speaker 2: was just me saying that I vehemently disagree. Actually, but
- 37:08Speaker 2: it has some hard suit up scenes, and I will
- 37:10Speaker 2: say that you don't even.
- 37:13Speaker 3: Remember the suit, remember I do.
- 37:15Speaker 2: I thought I thought that. I really thought that was
- 37:17Speaker 2: three though with the this is the one where he
- 37:21Speaker 2: falls off the sky and.
- 37:23Speaker 1: That's three that well, no, but he no, he's not
- 37:26Speaker 1: even in the suit when he falls off the star.
- 37:28Speaker 3: No, I know, that's what I'm saying. Yeah, yeah, I
- 37:30Speaker 3: literally said that he's falling in terminal velocity.
- 37:35Speaker 1: No, he's not in the suit though it's a bunch
- 37:36Speaker 1: of other people fall of the sky. He's remote controlling
- 37:39Speaker 1: the suit.
- 37:39Speaker 2: I said, he fell at terminal velocity, like just there
- 37:42Speaker 2: and the suit builds around him.
- 37:44Speaker 1: No, no, that's avengers, damn ya.
- 37:49Speaker 3: Then this gets nothing. Sorry.
- 37:51Speaker 1: Yeah, No, Three is the scene with the suitors when
- 37:55Speaker 1: the plane blows up, a bunch of people fall out
- 37:57Speaker 1: of the plane and then he's remote control on the suit.
- 38:01Speaker 3: Oh okay, yeah, okay, okay, okay, okay, ye. Nah, I've
- 38:05Speaker 3: been sorry, brouh. I just don't all good, but I
- 38:08Speaker 3: do fuck with Sir Ben Kingsley.
- 38:10Speaker 1: All right, Well, let's finish up your top five.
- 38:12Speaker 2: Then my oh yeah, my final top five. This was
- 38:18Speaker 2: actually a surprise for me because I did what you did.
- 38:20Speaker 2: I pulled up the entire list of the history of
- 38:22Speaker 2: the MCU, and I actually put I couldn't figure out
- 38:26Speaker 2: which one because there was stuff. I was annoyed by
- 38:29Speaker 2: it by some of them. But it's a wonder that
- 38:33Speaker 2: they made this shit work. Guardians of the Galaxy three
- 38:36Speaker 2: and Guardans of the Galaxy two and and I put
- 38:38Speaker 2: them in top five because I didn't.
- 38:41Speaker 3: Know shit about Guardians of the Galaxy.
- 38:44Speaker 2: I kind of knew about Rocket, but that's fucking it. Like,
- 38:47Speaker 2: I didn't know shit about these characters. I didn't give
- 38:49Speaker 2: a care about all these characters. When it was like, yeah,
- 38:52Speaker 2: this nigga's a fucking you know, deciduous forestry, I'm like.
- 38:56Speaker 3: What are you talking about? He what?
- 38:59Speaker 2: Like, Like none of the shit made sense to me
- 39:01Speaker 2: and for them, the level of creativity and understanding and
- 39:05Speaker 2: also just what they say gumption that it takes to
- 39:09Speaker 2: just believe that you can make a fucking story like
- 39:11Speaker 2: this work, and they made it work, and they've been
- 39:15Speaker 2: with the Guardian series generally has been consistent. There has
- 39:18Speaker 2: been annoyances throughout all of them but Peter Quill.
- 39:23Speaker 1: But.
- 39:24Speaker 2: Overall it's just been one of the series that I
- 39:27Speaker 2: was just like, they really fucking did that for me,
- 39:29Speaker 2: And like I said, they it was the one series
- 39:31Speaker 2: war I didn't know nobody and I was still gravitated
- 39:35Speaker 2: to the story. I still gravitated and cared about where
- 39:38Speaker 2: most of them were going and what happened.
- 39:40Speaker 1: To most made that point, that's really interesting, right, people
- 39:43Speaker 1: hate Peter Quill because of Infinity War. You did not
- 39:47Speaker 1: hate Peter Quill and Guardians of the Galaxy, You know
- 39:50Speaker 1: what I mean.
- 39:50Speaker 2: Well, I'm gonna be real with you. I never really
- 39:52Speaker 2: fucked with him in general. I disliked him after Infinity War,
- 39:56Speaker 2: but I didn't really care for him to begin with,
- 39:59Speaker 2: Like he was never min my favorite. He just gave
- 40:01Speaker 2: He's just very white, Yeah, and it just wasn't for me.
- 40:04Speaker 1: And I think that's the other thing people don't fuck
- 40:06Speaker 1: with Chris whatever.
- 40:09Speaker 3: He's the worst Chris, So it doesn't matter, Yeah.
- 40:12Speaker 1: Chris Pratt, Yeah, people don't fuck it, And so I
- 40:14Speaker 1: think that's it because it's really I think that's the
- 40:17Speaker 1: funny thing. And I think, like I liked star Lord
- 40:20Speaker 1: and Gomora, you know, I think that's what it is.
- 40:23Speaker 1: I like them. I try to ignore Chris Pratt. Yeah,
- 40:27Speaker 1: I mean, and I think he's really good at star Lord.
- 40:29Speaker 2: Too, So sure's you're not wrong about people hating him
- 40:33Speaker 2: more because of what his idiotic idiocy. But I didn't
- 40:37Speaker 2: really rock with him to begin with, so it was
- 40:40Speaker 2: just more of the same for me.
- 40:41Speaker 3: I was like, oh, Peter, but what about Rocket? I e.
- 40:44Speaker 3: And Guarding the Galaxy Volume three? That was heartbreaking.
- 40:47Speaker 2: That whole background about Rocket, how he you know, how
- 40:50Speaker 2: he was built up by the high evolutionary right just
- 40:54Speaker 2: where he came from and where he like that was
- 40:57Speaker 2: so goddamn sad like and I, like I said, Rockets
- 41:01Speaker 2: probably my favorite.
- 41:02Speaker 3: I love Rocket as a character.
- 41:03Speaker 2: I just love always being able to see the backstory
- 41:05Speaker 2: and also like having some touching, soft moments from a
- 41:09Speaker 2: character that's always so hard all the time, right and
- 41:12Speaker 2: always cracking jokes and always cussing and just being like
- 41:16Speaker 2: dirty and out there and then just to see like
- 41:19Speaker 2: he was innocent. He was innocent at first anyway, he
- 41:22Speaker 2: was innocent and you know, and then I mentioned also
- 41:25Speaker 2: guardings of the Galaxy value too because of yon Do's story.
- 41:28Speaker 2: Another thing that broke me, like when I was just
- 41:30Speaker 2: like like see and again, yes, I know that's directly
- 41:32Speaker 2: related to Peter Quill, but like that whole thing of.
- 41:34Speaker 3: Yon but but it's like I don't know how I
- 41:38Speaker 3: do it.
- 41:38Speaker 2: But like my mini racist Peter, Yeah, that's look at
- 41:42Speaker 2: everybody else.
- 41:43Speaker 1: And I think that's unfair kind of because I think
- 41:45Speaker 1: it really he does, like you like, he carries that
- 41:50Speaker 1: like Chris Pratt, does you know him? And what's the
- 41:53Speaker 1: actor Michael playing yon Do really carry that shit together?
- 41:57Speaker 1: You know, it's like those two carry those scenes. It's
- 42:00Speaker 1: Michael Rooker, Michael Rooker. It's like that. So it's like
- 42:03Speaker 1: you have.
- 42:03Speaker 3: You know, you have to have some care of the relationship.
- 42:07Speaker 2: And you have, but I have cognitive disinans, like I
- 42:09Speaker 2: don't I care about.
- 42:11Speaker 3: The relationship, but not that one person.
- 42:13Speaker 1: And I think a lot of people do that because
- 42:15Speaker 1: I think that's sadly I'm gonna stick up for Chris
- 42:18Speaker 1: pretty here and say that's unfair, because I really think
- 42:20Speaker 1: he does a great job of making the relationship between
- 42:25Speaker 1: him and y'all.
- 42:25Speaker 2: Do work, y'ah do sacrifices himself and the whole Mary
- 42:28Speaker 2: Poppins thing, and I am your pathy that I was
- 42:33Speaker 2: just like that vismc man mean that when you cry,
- 42:36Speaker 2: like turn off the cameras like that ass.
- 42:39Speaker 3: Because like it was, it was.
- 42:41Speaker 2: And the one thing I'm realizing with all of the
- 42:45Speaker 2: movies in our top five of MCU is that they're
- 42:47Speaker 2: the most highly emotional ones. Generally speaking. They're the ones
- 42:52Speaker 2: that cut us the deepest. They're the ones that made
- 42:55Speaker 2: us feel the most.
- 42:56Speaker 1: Captain America saying telling Peggy you know, I'm gonna be
- 42:59Speaker 1: late for that day and like crushes me, you know,
- 43:04Speaker 1: and her streaming at him and then him turning the
- 43:07Speaker 1: radio office he's going under the ices like that ship
- 43:11Speaker 1: you know, crushes me, like and then when he wakes
- 43:16Speaker 1: up in the future and Nick Fury is like, are
- 43:18Speaker 1: you okay? And he's like, yeah, but you know, and
- 43:21Speaker 1: it's like and then the movie's over, you know, you know,
- 43:29Speaker 1: oh man.
- 43:32Speaker 3: Fu yeah, But you know, all of our picks had
- 43:36Speaker 3: a lot of merits.
- 43:37Speaker 2: You know, even even your I Am in three has
- 43:39Speaker 2: a lot of merit to it, even though I cannot
- 43:41Speaker 2: remember exactly, but uh, that's the one where he got
- 43:48Speaker 2: all the suits, like he just kind of picks it
- 43:50Speaker 2: through it like yeah, And.
- 43:52Speaker 1: That's why a lot of people don't like to the
- 43:53Speaker 1: suits kind of like they get destroyed easily and all
- 43:56Speaker 1: this stuff and people like, see that's the thing. None
- 43:59Speaker 1: of that matters to me. It's like, are you telling
- 44:02Speaker 1: a good story? And that's what they do with Iron
- 44:04Speaker 1: Man three, you know, and the emotion and I like
- 44:07Speaker 1: seeing all those different suits and then I don't need
- 44:09Speaker 1: to see them from more than a few seconds. They
- 44:11Speaker 1: can all get destroyed real quick because it's like, you know,
- 44:13Speaker 1: oh that was cool first second, all right, Also, dut one,
- 44:15Speaker 1: you know so well.
- 44:16Speaker 2: Tony also makes it clear that they're disposable, because Tony
- 44:19Speaker 2: barely give a fuck about.
- 44:20Speaker 3: His own shit.
- 44:20Speaker 1: He one, yeah, he's making a million suits just trying
- 44:24Speaker 1: to get through his trauma.
- 44:25Speaker 2: And so that was like this this suit costs costs
- 44:28Speaker 2: one billion, I'll make another one like it is what
- 44:31Speaker 2: it is, you know, military dutal.
- 44:32Speaker 1: For that, that's our first top five.
- 44:36Speaker 2: That's our first top five. I enjoyed that. I do
- 44:39Speaker 2: want to hear. I know everybody's been commenting below and
- 44:43Speaker 2: saying I vehemently disagree or you know you're right, whatever
- 44:46Speaker 2: it is, like, I do want to hear what people
- 44:48Speaker 2: got to say about did our top five match.
- 44:50Speaker 3: Your top five?
- 44:51Speaker 2: Was it completely different? And then what is your top five?
- 44:57Speaker 2: And I would love to know why. I don't need
- 44:59Speaker 2: like ten paragraphs because I know, I g is not
- 45:01Speaker 2: even that much space.
- 45:04Speaker 3: YouTube. I ain't even got no caracter limits so.
- 45:06Speaker 2: I do, but I would like if you could just
- 45:10Speaker 2: give like a like a cliff note, you know, a
- 45:13Speaker 2: t L d R thing about why you pick what
- 45:16Speaker 2: you pick, that would be nice. But if you if
- 45:17Speaker 2: you don't have no reason, you just say because I
- 45:19Speaker 2: fucking said, so, that's okay too. I just want to
- 45:21Speaker 2: know what people think and also what y'all thought about
- 45:23Speaker 2: what we said. So as better you mentioned like if

- 47:52Speaker 3: Hendricks Jimmy Hendricks Purple Hay.
- 47:54Speaker 2: Specifically, it is the psychedelic space to see revolutionary story
- 48:03Speaker 2: starring h an imagination. Uh, your your version of Jimmy
- 48:08Speaker 2: Hendrix will just say along with the incredible journey that
- 48:13Speaker 2: that character goes through, and it is very respectful and
- 48:16Speaker 2: true to form to what I think is the essence
- 48:18Speaker 2: of Jimmy Hendrix is probably one of the most visually,
- 48:21Speaker 2: is probably one of the most comprehension, not even comprehensive.
- 48:24Speaker 3: I don't even think comprehensives is the right word.
- 48:25Speaker 2: It's probably the one of the most insane things I've
- 48:28Speaker 2: ever looked at, just visually, and then the story, the story,
- 48:33Speaker 2: the words just give you so much comprehension into what
- 48:38Speaker 2: it really means to be a revolutionary I really fuck
- 48:42Speaker 2: with it. And I know people like, oh, you're bias,
- 48:44Speaker 2: you're her sister. I'm like, no, no, no, like it's it's
- 48:47Speaker 2: fucking dope. And but I mean it's as evidenced by
- 48:50Speaker 2: the fact that I think the first run is probably
- 48:52Speaker 2: gone or it's like a few books left.
