Making Movies by Dire Straits
Making Movies captures a songwriter coming into full possession of his powers. This is an album that explores romantic disillusionment and urban alienation through vivid character studies. Mark Knopfler had always possessed a gift for imagery, but Making Movies finds him weaving complete emotional journeys rather than impressionistic sketches.
