Harbor Seal Walnut Arrives in Iowa
A four-year-old harbor seal named Walnut just arrived in Des Moines after a 1,600-mile journey from LA, accompanied by his associate vet who called the trip “interesting” — not exactly thrilling. Though he’s not yet on display, Walnut’s quarantine is going smoothly, and he’s already mastering tricks like rolling over and tolerating touch — even practicing ultrasounds and blood draws.
