- 0:10be a farmer. This is my chicken coop and I
- 0:12come out here every day to record a podcast to teach
- 0:16distinctions, possibilities, new ways of thinking, and just bring
- 0:20some joy into the world. So welcome to the coop and let's
- 0:23start your day off in a fantastic way.
- 0:27Hey everybody, good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:30It's a little noisy. She's got a lot to say today.
- 0:34In any event, let's talk about this hurricane that keeps making
- 0:39everybody crazy. And the point of this is how
- 0:42much we need to be certain as humans.
- 0:46So we keep looking and watching. And I'm one of these people who
- 0:49is like an avid, oh, I want to see where the storm is going.
- 0:52I want to see what's going on. I want to see what's happening.
- 0:55So I keep checking, checking, checking, checking.
- 0:57And, you know, the spaghetti models, that's the thing for
- 1:00those of you who don't live near where there's hurricanes, they
- 1:02constantly talk about these spaghetti models that will say
- 1:05and track and say it's going to go this way, it could go this
- 1:08way, it could go that way. And it turns out, you know, it's
- 1:11going to do whatever it wants to do.
- 1:12And there's not a heck of a lot we can do about it.
- 1:14It's just going to do what it's going to do.
- 1:17And for the last four days I've been watching it.
- 1:21Now there are two, the others it's, it's not even a hurricane
- 1:24right now. It's it's a tropical disturbance
- 1:26that could turn into one. And there's a major one that's
- 1:30like right off in the Atlantic. But it's not going to turn this
- 1:34way according to what they're saying.
- 1:35Now they're saying it's going to just turn out because of this
- 1:38pressure and they give you all this technical stuff.
- 1:41But this one they were worried about and continue to be like
- 1:43monitoring very closely is in it down somewhere South of Florida.
- 1:50It's still in the islands. It hasn't gotten itself
- 1:53organized. It's got sand in it.
- 1:55There's all kinds of things that they tell you.
- 1:57And here's The funny thing about this information.
- 2:00I will listen to the information over and over and over and over
- 2:02and over, trying to learn more. But why?
- 2:06Why am I doing that? Well, because I want to make
- 2:08sure I'm quote UN quote prepared.
- 2:10Now, any of you who listen to me regularly, do you have any
- 2:14question in your mind that if there was a pop up hurricane, I
- 2:18wouldn't be prepared? I mean, let's just face it, I
- 2:22always have more than enough of everything.
- 2:25Like that's just my belief system.
- 2:27I got very scared by that when I was little with my mom, Like she
- 2:31would always be like, Oh well, we don't have this or we don't
- 2:33have that. And I'm always like, how do we
- 2:35not have these things? And it made me just turn into a
- 2:37person that feels like, OK, I always have to make sure I have
- 2:41myself stocked up. So my house is stocked.
- 2:45There's no question about it. My have enough water based on
- 2:51the fact that we don't drink the city water.
- 2:54I have enough water. I have a generator.
- 2:57There is nothing for me. I have enough chicken food.
- 3:00I have enough of everything. And I don't mean just for a week
- 3:04like I have enough that it could last.
- 3:07Like I've been teased that I might have an apocalypse pantry.
- 3:10I don't have it that bad, but I do have a lot.
- 3:13I could. I could easily say that I would
- 3:16not have to buy food for a month and take care of my family.
- 3:20Now that may sound crazy but it's just the way I'm hardwired.
- 3:23So I don't fight it anymore and I just go with it.
- 3:25But back to the certainty thing. So this, this keeps going on and
- 3:29on all weekend long. And I'm I'm still watching it.
- 3:32And then they're telling us now like most of them like these
- 3:35spaghetti models, so picture pieces of spaghetti and they lay
- 3:39it all out and they show like all these different computer
- 3:41models that are saying it. And the majority of them, like
- 3:4390% of them are all saying, OK, it just turns and it goes out to
- 3:48the east and it doesn't. It skirts the coast, but it does
- 3:52not hit the coast. So I'm like, OK, but there are
- 3:54still three pieces of spaghetti where it's showing.
- 3:58It touches the coast. And I'm like, what if one of
- 4:00them is that way? And the point of all of this is
- 4:04that even when you think you have control over one of your
- 4:09emotions, that's one of your primary emotions.
- 4:11Let me be the first to tell you it is highly unlikely that it's
- 4:16never going to show up repetitively.
- 4:20Mine does and I know it. So I have to stay on top of it.
- 4:24I have to make sure she's not driving me crazy.
- 4:27So for instance, this over the weekend, I was very, very clear
- 4:32with myself about this situation.
- 4:33And I was like, Nope. You know what we're going to do?
- 4:35We are going to work on learning these new programs that we're
- 4:40learning for video production and what not, just learning them
- 4:43so we have some knowledge and that we can put some stuff
- 4:46together on our own. And I was like, OK, I'm full
- 4:48blown going in and I'm doing it. And it occupied my brain and it
- 4:52took me out of worrying about what this damn storm was doing.
- 4:57It took me worrying about like, OK, I got a message from my
- 5:00truck. My truck actually sent me a
- 5:02message on the app for it saying that I had a tire that was going
- 5:07flat. Amazing, right?
- 5:08I was like so excited my truck told me that because I didn't
- 5:10even know it could do that. And then I started to panic and
- 5:14certainty girls like, Oh my God, there's a hurricane coming.
- 5:17It's not even a hurricane, mind you.
- 5:19And and you don't have a tire fixed.
- 5:21How could that possibly be? And it just threw me into a
- 5:25tizzy. Immediately went on the app,
- 5:26tried to book an appointment, couldn't get the app to load the
- 5:29appointment schedule. I'm like, of course not, you
- 5:32know, like I got so frustrated. So anxieties joined the party
- 5:36and we had quite the interesting party.
- 5:38Point being, you have to manage them the whole time.
- 5:41So I spent the weekend retraining myself, putting my
- 5:45focus on something else. Doesn't mean I didn't think
- 5:47about it. I did, but I didn't think about
- 5:50it 100% of the time like I would have if I hadn't given myself a
- 5:53big thing to learn. So figure out when you're having
- 5:57these issues, what do you have to do to snap yourself out of
- 5:59it? For me, it's always going in and
- 6:01learning or being completely consumed with gardening or
- 6:03something. That's what does it.
- 6:05And before you know it, you're out of your own head.
- 6:09All right, my friends, I hope you have a blessed day and I
- 6:12will see you tomorrow. Bye.
