Transcript
- 0:19And now, the Mob Guys, Craig Coglianese and Wayne Dolcefino,
- 0:37on KSEV Radio.
- 0:44This is the Mob Guys on KSEV radio. I am Craig Coglianese. He is Wayne Dolcefino.
- 0:52We were singing My Way in the way it was...
- 0:55But if we weren't, I was.
- 0:57I was also singing it.
- 0:58You couldn't hear me.
- 0:58You didn't have your headphones on yet.
- 0:59But the minute I heard you singing it, I was like, you know what?
- 1:02Screw it.
- 1:02I'll do it too.
- 1:04So yeah, we're ready to go on today's show.
- 1:06Did you watch Talarico last night?
- 1:09I did.
- 1:10And what were your immediate thoughts?
- 1:13Well, look, I think he's a really, really nice guy.
- 1:18He comes off as a really nice guy.
- 1:21He does.
- 1:22Yes.
- 1:22He comes off as a faithful guy. Although it's not mine.
- 1:27Right.
- 1:28Right. No, but I'm not.
- 1:31Well, no, I mean, I would say the question about abortion and the answer about the Bible
- 1:38is where I lose him on faith. But he does seem like a guy who believes whatever his faith is.
- 1:43Right. I mean, look, I gotta tell you, I was watching and one of my chat groups,
- 1:51You know, besides for the, you know, the porn sites, one of my chat groups is What's Your
- 1:56Point, which is a Fox 26 show, a Sunday show that I've done on a number of occasions.
- 2:03I stopped doing it for a while because I just couldn't handle stupid liberals, but you know,
- 2:08it's kind of hard to teach those people.
- 2:11But about halfway through, Bill King, who is a guy who ran for mayor, right, who's sort
- 2:17of an independent kind of Republican.
- 2:20Smart guy.
- 2:21But smart guy, very smart guy, said at one point texted, Talarico is hitting it out of
- 2:28the park.
- 2:30And if that is the typical independent, even skew Republican, a little bit person, I call
- 2:40it the Cornyn people.
- 2:41Right. What he thought is what a lot of them think.
- 2:50Like, last night, they sort of went over the whole, they sort of ignored the six
- 2:56sexes to two sexes transformation. I also hated the format.
- 3:03Sure. I thought the format was bad. I thought the follow-up question,
- 3:11when they do like the breakdowns,
- 3:13the talking head breakdowns after it,
- 3:14say nobody challenged him on any of the stuff
- 3:17that he actually really deserved to be challenged on.
- 3:20So did it come off beneficial to Talarico
- 3:24for people who have no idea
- 3:25what the right questions to ask last night were?
- 3:28Yeah, but it's not,
- 3:30I don't think he was asked the right stuff.
- 3:31And honestly, even the question about the flu,
- 3:34and I was like, yeah, how crazy is all that?
- 3:36They just kind of moved on from it.
- 3:37It benefited him without being more pressing.
- 3:40There was all like that, that Catholic voter on, I don't remember her name, but I'm Catholic,
- 3:46it's really important abortion and stuff.
- 3:48And then there was, there's not this challenge.
- 3:51They said, well, the voters are going to challenge Talarico.
- 3:54I didn't really hear it challenge.
- 3:57I heard the, please tell us that when you become a Senator, you're not going to just
- 4:02vote with the New York, California, Chicago crowd.
- 4:06And he gave the answer that, like, if I was going to script an answer in advance of what
- 4:13I was going to say, and I don't do that very well because I just sort of say what I think
- 4:19at the time I thought it without thinking about what it means five minutes from now.
- 4:24But he said, I am not running to be a senator for the Democratic Party.
- 4:31I am running to be a senator for all people.
- 4:34All people, the two gender people, the five gender people, the binary people, the non-binaries.
- 4:43Why not?
- 4:43They, the thems, the he's, the we's, the guys.
- 4:47It was like, of course you are.
- 4:50But we all ... I'm hoping people are smart enough to say, of course you're going to vote
- 4:58with the Democrats every time.
- 5:00James Talarico, who is a very liberal guy, I also kept on hearing him say that while
- 5:08he was in the legislature, he was the most bipartisan guy in the history of Texas government.
- 5:17How many times did he say that?
- 5:18I've worked with Republicans.
- 5:21I like Republicans.
- 5:22I do this.
- 5:23I do this.
- 5:24I pass this.
- 5:25I pass this bill.
- 5:26Well, one of my problems with this election, and I say this as a guy who, you know, sort
- 5:32of keeps up, but I'd be honest with you, most people don't even know what happens in the
- 5:36legislature.
- 5:37They know the end, but they don't really know the sausage in the middle.
- 5:42Talarico has cast thousands of votes, I imagine, even after its couple of years in committees.
- 5:49Right now they're building a committee and they die.
- 5:52I I have yet to hear a
- 5:57Discussion or a campaign about not what he says
- 6:02But what he does the best thing the Republicans can do with Talarico right now is to
- 6:10Try to destroy his alleged authenticity
- 6:14Mm-hmm. Amen because he's because
- 6:17Amen.
- 6:18Whether it's just BS or whatever he is,
- 6:20or he's good at it, or he's,
- 6:22look, he's a glib guy, he's, look,
- 6:24don't take it any way, people who underestimate,
- 6:28who go like straight to the, is he gay,
- 6:30is he like, does he wear women's dresses, nonsense?
- 6:34If we get past that, and just talk about
- 6:37how somebody votes on the issues of the day,
- 6:41I have no idea.
- 6:43He's voted constantly to restrict any sort of,
- 6:46you know, expansion of drilling here in this state.
- 6:49He's very anti-gas, oil,
- 6:52even though he said last night that he's a everything solution.
- 6:55By the way, I want to say one thing.
- 6:57When he said he was running to be a senator for everyone,
- 7:00not the left, not the right,
- 7:01the funniest thing about that is Trump has said that too,
- 7:05because every politician says that,
- 7:08on both sides of the aisle all the time.
- 7:10But President Trump has said it multiple times.
- 7:12He's like, I want to be a president for everybody.
- 7:14Obviously, if it's something you celebrate when Talarico says it, you should celebrate
- 7:19it when Trump says it.
- 7:20But the reason they don't is they know that Trump is going to vote one way and we know
- 7:24that Talarico is going to vote one way.
- 7:26So Trump is not going to vote, but do other ... Yeah, go ahead.
- 7:29So if Republicans get beat really bad, I'm going to run next time.
- 7:33I'm going to campaign on the ... I'm not going to represent every Texan.
- 7:39Only the smart ones.
- 7:42That's great.
- 7:43Need the stupid people vote. Yeah, well, I want if you're stupid vote for the other guy
- 7:47No, and I'm sure we'll play some audio of Talarico as we go here, but I'll be honest like I was
- 7:54Disappointed and I understand Bill King's reaction that you said earlier that he thought it was good
- 7:58I was disappointed that he wasn't challenged more and the only way to have actually done that
- 8:03Especially went to CNN town hall is to get Paxton on a stage with him
- 8:09because if they allow Talarico by himself to control the way in which he represents himself
- 8:16and don't have the opposing, you know, taking shots, hopefully well-prepped person going after his record,
- 8:24no one else is going to do it. I'm not saying that Paxton should do it because I think he's incredibly well-equipped at doing this,
- 8:32but he has to. And I don't think he's going to be bad at it. Yeah, right.
- 8:35At this point after CNN, I think that Paxton has no choice but to debate
- 8:41Talarico somewhere for that to take over from this.
- 8:46If I'm Paxton, I lean into what President Trump says about me.
- 8:52Okay.
- 8:53I can wear an outfit that doesn't match, right?
- 8:57And admit what we all know that he is not pretty like me.
- 9:02Sure.
- 9:02Exactly.
- 9:03He's not a good looking guy like you.
- 9:05He's not a mob guy.
- 9:07No, he's not a mob guy.
- 9:08And so lean into it.
- 9:11Say, look, I'm not running for like, miss congeniality here.
- 9:18I'm running to take Texas values to the Senate.
- 9:24Yes.
- 9:25You started with that commercial in his campaign
- 9:28about this is Texas, this vegan, maybe gay, maybe not,
- 9:34who cares guy is right. Yeah. But you're not trying to close with it. And I don't mean
- 9:41cheap high school shots like you're in my office a lot. You come by visit. I do. And
- 9:48My office is a non-stop stream of cheap
- 9:52immature shots
- 9:53That we discuss
- 9:55We talk about lowest common denominator guy, yeah, right sure I
- 10:02Almost wish I could have been a plant in that audience. I'm a Republican. Let me ask a couple questions
- 10:10What second in time four months ago?
- 10:13Did God come down from you, from the mountain, and tell you there weren't six sexes, but
- 10:21there were two?
- 10:23What was that moment like when you were saying, oh, oh my gosh, yeah,
- 10:27I believe all that. But it's April and God has looked down on me and said, you know what?
- 10:35It's time for two, not six. James, it's time to talk about two. Well, and also I will say this,
- 10:42if you're someone who votes based on faith and I don't know the percentage, I would assume it's
- 10:47higher in Texas than in other places.
- 10:50I do think the abortion question hurt him.
- 10:53And to follow up with the,
- 10:54actually the 10 commandments are pretty definitive
- 10:58that killing people is wrong
- 10:59because he said the Bible is silent on abortion.
- 11:03And I thought that was the best challenge
- 11:05of the people that sat down and asked him a question.
- 11:07That was just that woman in the audience
- 11:09that said, you know what?
- 11:11No, I'm gonna push back on this one.
- 11:14And after the show,
- 11:15because I watched the after shows of these stupid news shows on that kind of a freak.
- 11:20They interviewed her and she said that his answer was no.
- 11:26But that was the wrong answer. And she's right.
- 11:30But there were a ton of those wrong answers. Look, it's fine to go on a show and say that
- 11:36I like puppies and cats just the same. Right. But the but the reality is I don't like cats.
- 11:45Okay, I never really have.
- 11:47They're terrible.
- 11:47I had two cats once and they peed on my bed and I got rid of them.
- 11:52For me, that was a deal.
- 11:55I like dogs.
- 11:57Dogs are great.
- 11:58But if no one says anything, if you say, I love rats, I love snakes.
- 12:04Yeah, well, no, honestly, I have also been on the record multiple times saying that cats
- 12:08are terrible and dogs are great.
- 12:09But if I were to run for Senate of Dogs and Cats, I would say I'm going to be a senator
- 12:14for both sides.
- 12:15I'm going to be senator for all animals.
- 12:17That's right.
- 12:18All cats, the three-legged ones, the ones that pee in Wayne's bed, I will represent
- 12:23them all.
- 12:24All of them.
- 12:24The handicap, the disabled, the faithful, the...
- 12:29We're dividing ourselves into so many subsets.
- 12:32We are.
- 12:34That it's...
- 12:35The environment is very weird because people are very weird.
- 12:42Yeah.
- 12:43It's true.
- 12:43Amen. All right, we got to take a break.
- 12:46A lot to get to, a lot to talk about on the Mob Guys.
- 12:49Talarico probably a decent part of the show today,
- 12:52including some clips of what happened last night.
- 12:55Although both of us are in agreement,
- 12:57we wish he had been challenged more,
- 12:59and that's not going to happen unless we get somebody
- 13:01that actually is opposing him in that room.
- 13:04Quick break to the Mob Guys KSEV Radio, Voice of Texas.
- 13:08KSEV Radio, this is the Voice of Texas, 700 AM,
- 13:13and we are the Mob Guys.
- 13:14I am Craig Coglianese.
- 13:16He is Wayne Dolcefino.
- 13:18We're very proud to be Italians.
- 13:20Tomorrow, my cousin will be a third Italian on this show.
- 13:23And then I think next week, we're going to have Steve Toth on
- 13:26as far as guests are going.
- 13:28And we're working on more because you know what's funny, Wayne?
- 13:33Now is the time where they all start reaching out to us.
- 13:35Because now it's that last window of get my message to as many people as possible.
- 13:40Yeah, and that's why I end up, do me a favor, turn on my hand.
- 13:46You always turn it down and I don't know why.
- 13:48I do it during the break so we can talk easier.
- 13:51Stop touching buttons.
- 13:53Anyway, I continue my appeal to Ken Paxton.
- 13:58I invite him on our show.
- 14:00And he doesn't have to even be here.
- 14:01We don't have to like look at him.
- 14:04Let's just talk.
- 14:05Yeah, I if he can he has to sell that he is a man of action
- 14:12You know like a man of action
- 14:15I forget that the movie would that
- 14:19It doesn't matter he's got to be a man of action. Yeah, you've got to say look
- 14:25Trump's right. I ain't the prettiest right
- 14:28and I'm not the selena and and my life isn't like I
- 14:34I made I made mistakes.
- 14:36I made choices.
- 14:36Right.
- 14:37But people understand that people sometimes fall out of love.
- 14:40I mean, it's not like he's out every night with a different stripper.
- 14:44He's been pretty much with that same woman right or wrong for a while.
- 14:52So own it.
- 14:53Yeah.
- 14:54Own it.
- 14:54But but but tell people what you did while you were attorney general.
- 14:59And look, I say this as a guy.
- 15:01I've sued Ken Paxton over records because I think they do a horrible job on public records.
- 15:08Wow.
- 15:09I do.
- 15:10I've criticized him, but I also will support the fact that at the end of the day for me,
- 15:18I don't care as much about Talarico's positions on his own faith or morality or whatever his
- 15:28deal is.
- 15:28That's where my sort of libertarian side comes here.
- 15:31I want to know that the guy I sent there is going to vote the way I would vote.
- 15:37Right.
- 15:38If I was there at the end of the day, that's all that really matters.
- 15:41You can guarantee that Talarico that will not vote for anything.
- 15:48I really want him to vote for not a tougher border.
- 15:52Right.
- 15:53Sure.
- 15:53It's easy to say that.
- 15:54Biden made a mistake. Where were all these people? Where was James Talarico's faith
- 16:00voice when we were letting in every weasel, sleaze bag, criminal that come on in. Hey,
- 16:09you know what? Here's a ticket. Come back in eight years for your trial. In the meantime,
- 16:14have a good time in Iowa, right?
- 16:17Yeah, no, you're right. What's interesting about it to me too is you said how many votes
- 16:23votes is he going to make that actually reflect our values?
- 16:26And you can go as far as to say like Texas values, voter ID is something like 95% of
- 16:32Texans support voter.
- 16:34It's something crazy.
- 16:34I forget exactly what the number is, but it's very high.
- 16:38And Talarico will absolutely not support Save America Act or anything like it.
- 16:42But the way the question was asked, Craig, he got away with it.
- 16:48He did.
- 16:48because nobody asked, look, I asked questions, as you know, for
- 16:53[unclear]. Yeah. So the question would, should have been,
- 16:58why don't you support a law that requires people to show their
- 17:03citizenship to get a voter's ID? They were talking about like,
- 17:07gun permits, right, you can get a voting thing if you have a gun
- 17:13thing, or if you have a tuna fish sandwich, or you have a
- 17:17Walmart gift card, you can get a vote.
- 17:19That's not what Save Act is about.
- 17:22Save Act is making sure that the only people that vote here are citizens.
- 17:28That's what people-
- 17:29That's right.
- 17:29That's the whole solution, the whole problem.
- 17:32It's one of several things that you know when you actually send a Talarico to the Senate,
- 17:37he will absolutely start voting.
- 17:39Look, I've said it, I think, this way sort of before.
- 17:42I think that both of these people,
- 17:45Talarico or Paxton, if they became a senator,
- 17:48is the kind of person that their side of the aisle
- 17:49brings on television for a specific vote
- 17:52where they really stood with the party
- 17:54because both of those guys are gonna be extreme
- 17:56in that corner and you want Paxton
- 17:59because you didn't want Cornyn.
- 18:01Cornyn was a guy who was not gonna be on TV a whole lot,
- 18:04you know, leading a vote on some sort of bill
- 18:05or even bringing a bill forward
- 18:07that a lot of conservatives were excited about
- 18:09because he wasn't that type of politician.
- 18:11Both of these guys intend to be that and we don't want to send the one that intends to be that for the left
- 18:17Can I can I like hawk my company for a minute?
- 18:20So after this election, I would suggest that the Texas Republican Party fire all its media people
- 18:29right
- 18:30You remember when we started doing this show I said
- 18:34Was years ago, right? Yeah, you and I met yeah, I said
- 18:37But the Republicans every day on social media should be showing me something that is either
- 18:45cheaper or better than it was.
- 18:50There are so many things that have been done.
- 18:54The oil and gas thing, you mentioned it, right?
- 18:57Talarico got sort of a pass.
- 18:58Like, I love oil and gas.
- 19:00I love everything.
- 19:01I'm an everything solution guy.
- 19:03No, you're not.
- 19:04I love those hydrocarbons.
- 19:05Please, I want as many hydrocarbons as I can.
- 19:09Right?
- 19:11Yeah.
- 19:12And we should have been shoving that up as you know what for the last month.
- 19:16They should have played audio of him over the last few years saying how, you know, the
- 19:20But it wasn't that deal.
- 19:21It wasn't that kind of show.
- 19:22I know.
- 19:23And that was a Talarico pep rally.
- 19:25Right.
- 19:25It was.
- 19:26And that's where you need a Paxton standing on stage being like, you've said multiple
- 19:30times that you think oil and gas is hurting Texas and needs to be stopped
- 19:35more or less. Here's your quote. Here's your quote, Ponyboy. We do have a call. We have Mark
- 19:40calling from Chapel Hill. He wants to comment about something. Mark, what do you
- 19:43want to say? Yeah, well I wanted to, I appreciate the show guys, but I wanted to say...
- 19:49You talk about Paxton coming out and Wayne made a comment about him being a man of action.
- 19:55Unless you've lived under a rock in the state of Texas for the last four, six years,
- 20:00there's no, I mean, his actions dictate that he's a man of action, no pun intended.
- 20:06He's done more for the state of Texas and the constituency than any Attorney General previously.
- 20:13I mean, he's a, and I don't, I'm not one of these guys that whistled by the graveyard.
- 20:18I am 100% confident Paxton.
- 20:21Talarico will not get within five, six points of his Paxton.
- 20:25Interesting.
- 20:25I mean, there are idiots out there to vote for Talarico, but I'm not at all concerned
- 20:29that Paxton is not going to be our next senator.
- 20:31Man, I really hope you're right about that.
- 20:33Yeah, and don't misunderstand what I'm saying.
- 20:37I know, and you know, right, you're somebody that pays attention.
- 20:42most people don't pay attention and they pick up headlines here and there.
- 20:49There are a lot of people that haven't even started getting engaged in this.
- 20:53Do I agree with you that Paxton will pull it off?
- 20:56I hope so and I think you may be right.
- 20:59That doesn't excuse the kind of campaign that has been run.
- 21:06Nothing is guaranteed to Republicans.
- 21:10I don't disagree with that, but let me ask you a serious question.
- 21:14Both of you.
- 21:15Have you ever heard, and maybe you have because of your profession, but I've never heard of
- 21:21Gina Hinojosa.
- 21:22Is Abbott afraid that somehow if people come out to vote for Talarico, then it's going
- 21:29to be a pull through for Hinojosa?
- 21:31Is that what they're concerned with?
- 21:33Because I never heard of this person.
- 21:34Yeah, Gina Hinojosa is somebody who's a good person.
- 21:38that I'd never heard of at all.
- 21:40And I doubt, maybe Wayne did know.
- 21:42Go ahead.
- 21:43No, but in an election, and again,
- 21:46look, I don't believe polls, right?
- 21:48I lie to pollsters.
- 21:50I don't believe, I do.
- 21:51I lie to pollsters.
- 21:54Right, somebody will put that out and just say,
- 21:55I lie to pollsters.
- 21:57Yeah, I really like those left-winged freaks
- 21:59as the ones I want.
- 22:01But I will say this,
- 22:04if the polls are fairly accurate,
- 22:07Well, and it seems like internally the Hispanics are in Texas are moving away from the Republicans
- 22:13Yeah, because they don't like the way ice has done his job if that is true
- 22:18It is very possible that a woman who is Hispanic
- 22:23Could do well if you look at our local elections here, but Chapel Hill, it's kind of loud
- 22:28Let's let's put them on hold for a second. Yeah there if you've got an Hispanic name
- 22:33like you could be like you could be dead.
- 22:37If you have an Hispanic name in this town,
- 22:41you're gonna get 30, 35% of the vote
- 22:42because you're gonna go, oh, there's that white guy.
- 22:45And there is my fellow Hispanic person.
- 22:47I wanna say one other thing though,
- 22:48because I always dismiss the polls.
- 22:50I very much agree with the caller
- 22:51that the polls are crap
- 22:52and with you that the polls are crap.
- 22:54But I do pay attention to a couple things
- 22:56that I think can reinforce what the polls seem to be saying
- 23:00to make me more likely to believe that some mixture of it is true money and then also
- 23:06Kalshi.
- 23:06I'm really interested in the betting markets and how they go now because I don't think
- 23:10they're influenced politically.
- 23:12Those guys want to make money.
- 23:13Kalshi seems to think that Talarico will win Texas.
- 23:17The betting money is on him and then the money being flooded into Texas right now by the
- 23:22Republican Party, by Trump super PAC, by so many different things indicates something
- 23:27Something very different than what was true before, which is the party seems to think
- 23:33more money is necessary to win this fight.
- 23:36I really don't think that the average Texan would vote for Talarico, that the average
- 23:42Texan's values are reflected in Talarico, but if there's not a huge turnout, and if
- 23:47a lot of this money and a lot of these expectations wind up being accurate, there is a chance
- 23:52that Talarico can somehow sneakily win something he doesn't deserve to win.
- 23:56Let me, I can let the, I'll go ahead.
- 23:58If the Cornyn people stay home.
- 24:01Yeah, we're screwed.
- 24:01Because right now, Paxton's polling about 86% among Republicans.
- 24:06Yeah.
- 24:07He's got to be in the 90s.
- 24:08If those Cornyn, like sort of rhinos, whatever you want to call them, they stay home.
- 24:14We're screwed.
- 24:14Go ahead.
- 24:15I want you to respond to that because it's not just the polling that convinces me the
- 24:18number is going to be closer than 4% to 5%.
- 24:22Yeah.
- 24:22Well, again, I get the polling and there's polling and then there's polling of likely voters and there's action people got to get off their ass and go and vote.
- 24:30And most of these Talarico loudmouths are not going to get up and go vote.
- 24:35I hope not.
- 24:36The Republicans go vote like they will in the midterms.
- 24:39It's typically older people like myself that are going to go out and make the effort to vote.
- 24:43So I'm convinced Paxton has got it locked up.
- 24:46Fair enough. Well, thank you for calling me back if I'm wrong.
- 24:48No, no, no. No, I don't want you to be wrong.
- 24:51Thank you very much for the call.
- 24:51Yeah, from your mouth to God's ears.
- 24:53Yeah, please.
- 24:55Yeah, and I don't, again, don't want any of that to be true.
- 24:58I just think that it's more than polling at this point.
- 25:00There is money and there is betting markets and there's all these things that seem to
- 25:04all think that Talarico has a real shot to win Texas, which a couple months ago sounded
- 25:10crazy to a lot of us and now seems more and more likely to potentially be possible.
- 25:16All right, we'll take...
- 25:17Go ahead.
- 25:18It's the Mob Guys on KSEV Radio.
- 25:20All right, we'll take a break.
- 25:21We'll come back with more after this.
- 25:23Now back to KSEV Radio and the mob guys.
- 25:26Hey, all right.
- 25:27Well, we got more calls.
- 25:29I believe this is a fairly regular caller to the station.
- 25:32His name is David.
- 25:33Let's bring David on.
- 25:34I believe if this is the right David, he's the guy in California and he doesn't want
- 25:38to talk about anything we're talking about.
- 25:39He wants to talk about something else, which is okay.
- 25:42David, what do you want to talk about?
- 25:45Well, you know, as you're talking about politics...
- 25:48We are.
- 25:49You know, one of the tricks that America has never really taken advantage of is to make the politicians do something before election day, not wait for some promises.
- 26:00Sure.
- 26:00Let's get them to do something before election day.
- 26:03Well, hold on, David.
- 26:05So by that, you mean the ones in charge, because the ones who are running who aren't in power can't do anything.
- 26:11You're talking about the ones in charge.
- 26:13Sure.
- 26:13Yeah.
- 26:14And I think that really hurt Kamala Harris' presidential run,
- 26:16is that she was saying what she was going to do as the Vice
- 26:19President, continue.
- 26:22Right.
- 26:22So as the headlines in the Forbes magazine
- 26:27and business times, all sorts of different business magazines,
- 26:32have been noting that the hospitals
- 26:35are shutting down like crazy.
- 26:38Texas is about to lose 84 different hospitals and that comes to 51% of the rural hospitals
- 26:49in Texas are going to shut down because of that big beautiful bill.
- 26:53Oh gosh.
- 26:54Now wait a minute David.
- 26:56He's going to save money.
- 26:57Now wait a minute David.
- 26:58David, I want to...
- 26:58David, hold on.
- 26:59Hold on David.
- 27:00I want to do this as a back and forth.
- 27:02I want to be respectful to each other.
- 27:03I promise I'll let you talk.
- 27:04You got to let me respond to some of what you said.
- 27:05You said the reason these hospitals are closing is the big beautiful bill. Do you think that's a fair complete?
- 27:13Description of why they're actually closing well the truth though Wayne is there are hospitals that are closing
- 27:19So it's it's that's what all the now, but do you read well hold on you could believe I had no
- 27:25Do you read more than the headline David do you go into the content of the article and read it?
- 27:29Absolutely.
- 27:30Okay, so what are the other reasons that the hospitals are closing other than a pullback
- 27:35on Medicare spending?
- 27:36What are the other reasons that they're closing?
- 27:38The cost of living has gone up so high and nobody's raising a bit of a wage.
- 27:41See, this is the problem.
- 27:43The reason that they're closing is they have staffing issues, is they have care issues,
- 27:47is that there's a lack of patients in some of these hospitals.
- 27:49The choice to close some of them in rural areas is that they're not actually performing
- 27:54well and when you pull back federal funding you lose crappy hospitals.
- 27:59There are still hospitals in the area of every single person in Texas if you need one.
- 28:04Even the rural people, they didn't lose all their...
- 28:07Sorry, go ahead.
- 28:07We're pretty cavalier.
- 28:08You're pretty cavalier with the lives of 51% of the rural hospitals.
- 28:13They have hospitals they can access, David.
- 28:16Oh, I want you.
- 28:17Oh my God.
- 28:18Okay.
- 28:18Look, can I be cavalier for a second?
- 28:20Yes, please.
- 28:21I want to be cavalier.
- 28:22Yeah. Right. So we passed a bill that said if you want this, you have to be legally here
- 28:31and you have to get off your arse and work to get the benefit. Right. All the, I mean,
- 28:40we are so mean, right, that we actually expect someone to do something.
- 28:47That was Russell.
- 28:50To do something in exchange for the benefit.
- 28:53Yes.
- 28:54And there's a million and a half people.
- 28:56So if a hospital is making all its money on fake lazy people, fake citizens, then I'm
- 29:06sorry.
- 29:07But in the big beautiful bill, whatever they call that bill, well, I thought it was a dumb
- 29:13name when they did it, but whatever.
- 29:14But in that bill, they set aside tens of billions of dollars for rural hospitals.
- 29:22So the rural hospitals could be closing because, as you said, and this is an immigration question,
- 29:30that a lot of the nurses, we're having trouble finding nurses, and a lot of the nurses are
- 29:34coming from the Philippines or wherever they come from.
- 29:40That's an immigration issue.
- 29:42But if you're a hospital and you spend all this money on equipment and people, and like
- 29:46once a week someone comes in with a gunshot because they shot themselves while they were
- 29:53bailing hay, right?
- 29:54It's not like the big city where people shoot each other for nonsense, right?
- 30:00Maybe that's also why you go out of business.
- 30:03Well, here's the thing though, and we can bring David back on in a second.
- 30:06He says 80, okay, we won't bring that back.
- 30:09He says 84 rural hospitals are closing.
- 30:11That's not true.
- 30:12They're in financial jeopardy of closing.
- 30:14Only 21 rural hospitals in Texas have closed
- 30:17since the start of 2025.
- 30:18Out of the 153 we have in this state.
- 30:22And all of the hospitals that have closed
- 30:23have done it because they had staffing issues.
- 30:26They had all kinds of financial threats
- 30:28that went well beyond the big, beautiful bill.
- 30:31And honestly, or because they're in rural areas,
- 30:33this is the type of headline
- 30:35that makes a liberal person like David claim Trump wants to kill people and it's
- 30:41so far from the truth it's so irrationally disconnected to the reality
- 30:46and every study I've looked at that dives into this topic says that any
- 30:51person in rural Texas has easy access to a hospital it's not like the the
- 30:55commute has gone from five minutes to an hour and a half if you live rural it
- 31:00might take you 35 minutes 45 minutes to get somewhere but they haven't closed
- 31:03them to the degree that someone just doesn't have one anymore. That's the other thing David wants to say.
- 31:08Go ahead. Okay, before we bring David back on, I just want to say that I want the rural people to
- 31:14suffer. I think that's really the truth. He is getting. No, we should be honest. Okay. That
- 31:22our goal is to make sure that if you live in a ranch raising food and cattle, yeah, providing
- 31:29for the country. That I want your family to suffer in the dead of night because the hospital,
- 31:35because I want to close your hospital to make you die. That's what he's really saying. That's
- 31:42what he's trying to claim is happening. David, if you want to respond, you say 84, it's actually 21,
- 31:48there's others that are at risk of closing that have not closed yet, and you simplify this
- 31:52conversation to say that we're cavalier with lives when it's not accurate, that anyone in
- 31:57Texas doesn't have access to a hospital within a similar distance to anyone that closed.
- 32:04David, you're up like I say, you're you creeps are you're not conservative.
- 32:10A conservative would beg to have a hospital within 50 miles.
- 32:15You're trying to put all your house.
- 32:17That made no sense.
- 32:18And I don't know why I don't know why you have to I don't know why you have to go to
- 32:21like insults.
- 32:22I don't.
- 32:22Yeah, I didn't call him a creep.
- 32:24I didn't call him an idiot.
- 32:25He seems like an idiot, but I didn't call him one if I didn't call the left
- 32:30How are we not conservative you're not you're not intelligent let's let him go
- 32:35It's fine. He can go because it just doesn't make any sense the way David does that look
- 32:40I want to campaign. I want a hospital on every block
- 32:45farmer Road 23
- 32:47Okay, that makes him happy.
- 32:49They what?
- 32:50Well, and honestly, that is, I really feel like, that's a very good example of the game
- 32:55that gets played in media so often.
- 32:57Where the headline is, Trump is closing 84 hospitals in Texas.
- 33:0121, not 84.
- 33:02A lot of the other ones that are struggling, not doing it just because of the big beautiful
- 33:05bill.
- 33:06And our healthcare system is broken.
- 33:08And one of the ways to fix it is actually to stop wasting money that's getting sent
- 33:12places that aren't doing a good job.
- 33:15You want good places to succeed.
- 33:16not bad places.
- 33:18Hey, go ahead.
- 33:18Yeah, go ahead.
- 33:19We need to provide health, it's a human right.
- 33:23Right.
- 33:24If you have a farm and there's not another farm for five miles, I think we should require
- 33:31hospitals to open up halfway between your ranch and the other guy's ranch.
- 33:37Why don't we just have the state pay to put one emergency care doctor at every farm throughout
- 33:42the country?
- 33:43Why don't we just have your own individual hospital?
- 33:45And you know what my biggest frustration is?
- 33:47Is like I hear a Talarico last night say, healthcare is a human right.
- 33:55Great.
- 33:56How much is that going to cost?
- 33:58And how do you do that without raising taxes?
- 34:01I would have asked the question to Talarico, would you commit tonight to not raising my
- 34:07taxes?
- 34:08You know what's really interesting about that?
- 34:09When I was living in Chicago, I got a emergency appendectomy when I was like 23 or something.
- 34:14And I just went to the closest hospital to me, and I remember talking to a host at a
- 34:18radio show that I was producing at the time.
- 34:20And when I told him which hospital in Chicago I picked, he was like, oh, oh, that wasn't
- 34:24a good call.
- 34:25And it was relatively cheap, and it was, you know, I didn't wind up, like, you know, getting
- 34:29screwed financially, but I'm pretty sure they didn't do a good job.
- 34:32To this day, I've had two other surgeries to fix hernias that occurred because of it.
- 34:36And part of me even wonders if I even needed it.
- 34:39And so we have to be honest.
- 34:41There are hospitals that are great at the job that they do and there are hospitals that are not and by and large the ones that
- 34:47Will be closing are the ones that are in rural areas that people themselves don't even go to because they don't think the care is
- 34:53Very good. God. You're sounding so like
- 34:57conservative like the notion that some people are better at their jobs and others and we should we should fix that
- 35:06We should, for the stupid people, we should provide them government intelligence support so they're not quite as stupid.
- 35:15That's what makes everything better. If you give people free money from the government, of course they do their job better.
- 35:21We've seen that before. Quick break, a lot more. KSEV radio, it's the mob guys on The Voice of Texas.
- 35:28You know, or as our last caller, what was that
- 35:38guy's name?
- 35:39David, David in California.
- 35:41David called me a creep.
- 35:42He did.
- 35:42And you know what, David?
- 35:44Yeah, I'm a creep.
- 35:45Yeah, so.
- 35:45Okay.
- 35:46And you're an idiot.
- 35:48Can we move on?
- 35:49Yeah, we have more calls.
- 35:50Keep going.
- 35:51Dale is calling in.
- 35:52Dale, what do you want to say?
- 35:55Well, Chris, I think.
- 35:56Craig.
- 35:56My name is Craig.
- 35:59I think we can start off by saying that you and I aren't going to agree on policy.
- 36:02We know that.
- 36:04But you said something.
- 36:05Can you at least agree on what my first name is?
- 36:09Yeah, Craig.
- 36:10I said yeah.
- 36:11Craig, because I want you to interview me.
- 36:12My name is Craig Dale.
- 36:15Oh, well you know what?
- 36:18Let's start over again.
- 36:19All right, let's see.
- 36:20Okay, here we go.
- 36:20We're not going to agree on other stuff, but let's get my name.
- 36:22Okay, go ahead.
- 36:24You said that you made the comment that
- 36:26Talarico is gonna win a race that he
- 36:30doesn't deserve. I don't think he's gonna win.
- 36:32I think he's got a real chance to win.
- 36:34I didn't say he's going to win.
- 36:36But you said at a race he doesn't
- 36:38deserve, well to me, if I was a Republican,
- 36:42I wouldn't say does Paxton deserve to win this race?
- 36:45Yes. Because he's really not campaigning.
- 36:48Okay, now he didn't. To me, effort should
- 36:50It's a lot, but it's like he what he started campaigning a week ago
- 36:55Wow, so he I will respond I will respond to you and we can do this as a back-and-forth
- 37:00The reason that Paxton deserves to win is that he better represents the average Texan in his values and their values and the reason
- 37:07Talarico does not is because even though right now and actually it's only been about a couple weeks that he's been doing this
- 37:13He claims as though he's further in the middle all of the evidence all of the voting and all of the previous
- 37:18audio from things he said, you know, when he's represented Austin, have
- 37:23demonstrated that he's not in the middle, he's on the left, and he's
- 37:26misaligned with the average Texan. That's why one deserves to win and one
- 37:30does not. Go ahead, Dale. Well, then I guess you're saying that the average
- 37:35Texan talks about faith in family and moral values, but it's really not that
- 37:41important to you, so you're gonna go ahead and vote for Paxton. I believe... Hold on, hold on, Dale. I
- 37:48Do you think that's true?
- 37:52Well, we run in different circles.
- 37:54Do you think that's true?
- 37:55No. Do you think that's true?
- 37:57I'm not asking about your circle.
- 37:59I don't care about your circle or my circle.
- 38:01Does the average Texan support abortion?
- 38:03Yes or no?
- 38:07No, but I don't know if you make the whole thing.
- 38:08Okay, so which of the two candidates supports abortion?
- 38:12Is it Paxton or is it Talarico?
- 38:15Well, of course it's Talarico.
- 38:16Okay, does the average Texan believe that oil and gas
- 38:20is an important industry that we need to do
- 38:22as much as possible to lift up in this state?
- 38:25Does the average Texan believe that?
- 38:28No.
- 38:29That's where you're wrong.
- 38:30That's where you're wrong.
- 38:31The average Texan understands the financial value
- 38:34because a lot of Texans in a lot of rural areas
- 38:36work in energy.
- 38:37So not only do they understand it,
- 38:39they're probably somewhat connected to it.
- 38:41So again, they understand the value in propping it up.
- 38:43Talarico has fought hard against it up until the other night when he claimed to be an energy for everybody.
- 38:50Was it interesting to hear him disagree with himself last night because of how much Talarico believes that oil and gas is an area that could hurt him in this election?
- 39:00Did you watch the CNN town hall last night?
- 39:03No, I did not.
- 39:05But again, it goes back to the, it goes back to, you're telling me all these things you
- 39:10hear from Talarico.
- 39:12So that means that you're hearing him.
- 39:14That means that it's out there.
- 39:15So I'm not sure what you mean by.
- 39:17Okay.
- 39:18Can I, can I, yeah, go ahead, put them on hold.
- 39:21Can I, can I be honest for a second?
- 39:23If Paxton could not talk and could only sit in a chair, I look at me, I say inappropriate
- 39:30things.
- 39:31If he can sit totally disabled in a chair, I would vote for him.
- 39:39If he could not like, if he couldn't walk 10 feet on the campaign trail, I would still vote at the end of the day.
- 39:49And he's entitled to vote for Talarico all he wants.
- 39:51I will vote for the guy who, when the big votes happen, I know that he will vote pretty much like I will.
- 40:03And the other guy will vote against what I want.
- 40:08Yes, I simple as I don't care about his wife. I'm sorry
- 40:13I'm sorry that his marriages and we're gonna that
- 40:17I'm not hiring
- 40:19Like I'm not hiring a priest right now hiring someone to to to pursue
- 40:27The same political things I want you
- 40:30Yeah
- 40:30And I want to ask Dale one more question does the average Texan support border security does the average Texan believe that our border and our
- 40:38state, which deals quite a bit with the fallout of having a wide open border.
- 40:44Does our state or believe in border security?
- 40:45The answer is yes.
- 40:47The average Texan believes in border security.
- 40:49I don't know if Dale is still on hold and if he wants to get his answer to that.
- 40:53I'm still here with.
- 40:53Okay.
- 40:54Yeah, I'm still here with so does Talarico.
- 40:56Talarico does not actually.
- 40:58Talarico's voting record disagrees with what he said last night.
- 41:01But, Talarico's positions on Biden and on every administration that he has been a senator
- 41:09for disagrees with what he's been saying over the last couple months.
- 41:12Go ahead, Wayne.
- 41:13Yeah, and I was going to say that I'd invite Dale to scour the internet and do research and find
- 41:21the clips of Talarico during the Biden administration saying, this is insane.
- 41:29All these criminals are coming in.
- 41:31We need to shut that border down.
- 41:34If he will find me that clip, and I'll take your time tomorrow, he can find the clip.
- 41:45And this goes back to the Republican spin.
- 41:48That spin, dude.
- 41:49It's what people say.
- 41:52How is what he said before Republican spin?
- 41:56When I play Talarico ... I'll do it after we end this call.
- 42:00I will play Talarico in his own voice while he was a representative for Austin saying the things we're saying about him
- 42:07How does us playing his his positions spin his current positions?
- 42:13How does it do that it all like it exposes him as a liar Dale?
- 42:18Okay, if I've heard it a thousand times and I've heard y'all play the clip that uh when Talarico says that we need a
- 42:26Welcome mat at the door right?
- 42:28Correct.
- 42:28He did say that, yes.
- 42:30I've heard that a million times, but you left out right after he said we need to welcome
- 42:34that.
- 42:34But a lock on the door.
- 42:36I've actually played that audio before.
- 42:36We need a lock on the door.
- 42:37I've actually played that audio before.
- 42:39But that never gets...
- 42:39I actually have played that audio on this station before.
- 42:42Hey, I don't wanna welcome that.
- 42:45Well, you're one of the few that have played it all the way through then.
- 42:48Yeah.
- 42:48I'll have to give you credit for that.
- 42:49Well, I thank you.
- 42:50We also played it on the Amigos.
- 42:52When I produced the Amigos a few weeks ago, we played it.
- 42:54Go ahead.
- 42:56But again, I've started the call saying we're not going to agree on policy.
- 43:01I'm just, your quote, if Talarico wins this race, it's going to be because he could have
- 43:06more effort than Paxton.
- 43:08So I just have a problem with your- Well, no, but he's also-
- 43:11With your quote is saying- You know what, Dale?
- 43:13I'll agree with you there.
- 43:15I don't know if it was money or what, but Paxton has done what he did in the other two
- 43:19rounds of this.
- 43:19He was less prominent than he should have been.
- 43:22He's on the campaign trail now.
- 43:24I went to an event he held here in Houston. I think he may have hired some people who did the Biden campaign
- 43:32He has he has been places he is on the trail he is he's not just sitting at home
- 43:37And he's not saying that he has the flu
- 43:38But he has not done as much in as big of platforms as Talarico has done
- 43:44And I think the reason why partially is there's more platforms that are available only to Talarico and in order for Paxton to get
- 43:51a public platform, he's going to have to debate Talarico.
- 43:55I don't think that's right, Craig.
- 43:56I don't think he has to debate Talarico.
- 43:59To get the biggest platform?
- 44:01Yeah, well, maybe to get the biggest platform.
- 44:02Who's putting him on TV alone?
- 44:04Look, there are plenty of conservative on social media to spread a message.
- 44:10You can buy Facebook ads.
- 44:12You can.
- 44:12You can do all kinds of stuff.
- 44:13If Paxton would sit down with some selected people, I don't care if his campaign pays
- 44:21me to do the interview with him. It wouldn't stop me from asking him the tough questions.
- 44:28But you can't even find a soundbite of Ken Paxton. He has a press conference and he invites
- 44:36reporters and then they ask him questions that aren't exactly what he's having the press
- 44:41conference about and they say, oh, move along, move along. We're not going to answer those
- 44:45questions today. That's the kind of bad messaging. Yeah. And maybe there are why are you afraid
- 44:54of the question? We all know that Paxton cheated on his wife. Right. Come on. Who cares? Stupid.
- 45:00Yeah. Well, I mean, I don't I don't mean who cares. I honestly think that's horrible. But
- 45:05like, I would say who cares in the sense that it's not new news. It's it's obviously a conversation
- 45:09that's been out there. And it doesn't impact his ability to be a senator. It doesn't have
- 45:14correlation to that. I don't care if President Trump had nine wives I wouldn't have cared and I'm not I'm not like a Muslim
- 45:22harem guy I'm just saying. Oh we gotta go we gotta go.
