- 0:23chickens. Hey everybody.
- 0:28Good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:31Today, I want to talk to you about judging yourself and I
- 0:35know it's a human thing. Let me just be very clear about
- 0:38it. We all judge ourselves and it
- 0:40actually isn't a bad tool to have in your tool belt because
- 0:44again, it stops you. I've said this before but it
- 0:47stops you from doing stupid things when you use the right
- 0:50way, but it's also detrimental to your well-being when it's
- 0:54overused. It's kind of like salt if you
- 0:57put too much salt on something and you get so used to eating,
- 1:01Before you know it you have hypertension and high blood
- 1:04pressure and all kinds of problems and you have to
- 1:06eliminate salt from your diet and you're like I don't want to
- 1:09eliminate salts also, great. Well if you used it in the right
- 1:12amounts in the beginning it would be great.
- 1:14But you didn't you ever used it and therefore you took it out of
- 1:16your realm of possibility, and it's kind of like judgment.
- 1:21We spend so much time beating ourselves up.
- 1:25And judging ourselves and nine times out of ten are judgments,
- 1:30are Inaccurate, because they're jaded there, we keep them to
- 1:34ourselves because we spend so much time in our heads, talking
- 1:38to ourselves and unrwa Source Feliz.
- 1:41Oh, we, we have skewed views of things.
- 1:45And, unless you kind of expand your views, those skewed views
- 1:49have a huge effect on how you see things.
- 1:52It's kind of like if you've ever heard the phrase, you know,
- 1:55you're never, really completely well-rounded until you travel.
- 2:01And I absolutely agree that travel has a huge impact on your
- 2:07view of the world. When you take the time to go and
- 2:10do some traveling, it doesn't even mean that you have to
- 2:11travel far but just getting out of your own bubble and seeing
- 2:16things differently. There is a tremendous impact on
- 2:20being able to get out and see how other people live, what they
- 2:24experienced, what their days are like and it shifts how you view
- 2:29the world. So So think of it that way in
- 2:32your head, if you don't get out of your head and see how other
- 2:35people are doing it or engage in other ideas, which is why
- 2:38learning is so important. Even if you can't physically
- 2:41travel, to change your points of views.
- 2:44Books are your best friends with this because you hear other
- 2:48people's perspectives and then you have another way to see the
- 2:52world. So for instance, one of my very
- 2:54first Endeavors into, this was my, you know, going and
- 2:59listening to Tony Robbins my very First time because I was a
- 3:02participant at all of his events before I ever worked for him.
- 3:06And when I went to my very first event and I sat there and
- 3:09listened, it was a business event, it was one day event in
- 3:12Boston, and I was so enamored with his points of view of how
- 3:17to see sales in a different way. I couldn't imagine how I had
- 3:24been seeing it and how I felt about it and then I went and
- 3:28compared it to, you know, his His?
- 3:31What I how I was seeing it compared to his.
- 3:33And no wonder I was not doing well in it.
- 3:36No wonder. I was you know, failing every
- 3:39day because of my points of view, and when you know, you
- 3:42change your perspective, everything changes.
- 3:45And once I learned that I could keep diving in and changing this
- 3:51over and over and over, boy, I will tell you that key
- 3:56distinction shifted my life. It's like, you just have to keep
- 4:01On going and keep looking for different things and stop
- 4:04judging yourself about where you are because it's not going to
- 4:09help you get to where you want to go.
- 4:11If that makes sense, we spend so much time wrapped up in that
- 4:17bubble of ourselves that we don't get the chance to expand
- 4:21and say, okay, well is this is this the only way that I should
- 4:26be seeing this because this feels really harsh and I'm
- 4:29judging myself. And that results in many toxic
- 4:34things in our lives. It's part of the reason why
- 4:37where we see so many people, taking antidepressants.
- 4:40It's part of the reason why we see so many suicides, it's part
- 4:44of the reason why there's so much alcoholism and drug abuse
- 4:48in this country, because we are constantly judging ourselves,
- 4:51and it's not just this country. I say that.
- 4:53I realize I had people from all over the world listening, and I,
- 4:56it's everywhere, and it's not just here, but it is a, there is
- 4:59a lot of it. Is here.
- 5:01And I think that if we could find a way to be kinder to
- 5:06ourselves and take in a little bit of Grace into these things,
- 5:12that we tell ourselves, we would be profoundly better off and
- 5:18that Grace begins with that knowledge of saying, am I being
- 5:22too hard on myself? And what's another way that I
- 5:25could think of this? What's another way that I could
- 5:28view this? And I will encourage Urge, you
- 5:31completely, encourage you all the time to read audibles, do
- 5:37whatever you need to do, but take in information and taking
- 5:40ideas from other people. It's part of the reason why I
- 5:43wanted to do this podcast, because I want to reach as many
- 5:46people to give other perspectives because that's what
- 5:50helps how create happiness inside of us.
- 5:54When we have the opportunity and the perspectives to see things
- 5:58differently, all of a sudden, The Judgment doesn't have such a
- 6:02hold and it also doesn't have such horrific outcomes in our
- 6:05lives. So please stop pause, give
- 6:09yourself a break, judging yourself while it has its
- 6:13benefits in some areas, too much of it is like salt and please do
- 6:17not overuse it. And remember, the more
- 6:20perspectives you have, the less power, the Judgment has.
- 6:23So keep pouring into yourself in different ways and I promise
- 6:28you, you can break the cycle of this.
- 6:30And change. How you give yourself a break
- 6:34change, how you see yourself and change your days.
- 6:36All right, my friends. I will see you tomorrow.
- 6:38Bye.
