- 3:21Speaker 1: it lately. Bro. I'm trying, man, I'm having a resurgence. Man.
- 3:25Speaker 1: I love podcast, Love the podcast. I love what you're
- 3:29Speaker 1: doing with Jim, Thank you, thank you, and I love
- 3:32Speaker 1: the just the vibes of the getting fit give me,
- 3:36Speaker 1: give me. It's you and me, Jim, Dave. Yeah, we all,
- 3:43Speaker 1: we all, you know, coming together, working out, you know,
- 3:47Speaker 1: doing music, you know, motivating inspiring people. How many people
- 3:52Speaker 1: around the world want to work out, want to take
- 3:54Speaker 1: care of themselves? How many people say around uh, you
- 3:58Speaker 1: know New Year's Eve? What you know? Everybody resolution is
- 4:02Speaker 1: going to be. I've seen it. Listen today. Just today
- 4:07Speaker 1: I stopped to see my guy, Steve LaBelle Shout out
- 4:11Speaker 1: to my brother Steve. Shout out to Steve, shout out
- 4:13Speaker 1: to Elimonading Van Eys. I went there. Did you go
- 4:16Speaker 1: to his rehab as well? I didn't go to the rehab,
- 4:18Speaker 1: but I went to Lemonade right and Van Eys And
- 4:23Speaker 1: one of the dudes that worked there said to me, Man,
- 4:25Speaker 1: you inspired me, man to work. Get me back in
- 4:28Speaker 1: the gym. Wow, I'll go in the gym because I
- 4:30Speaker 1: watch y'all. So the thing the thing about that is
- 4:33Speaker 1: is like I didn't. I always worked out on and
- 4:38Speaker 1: off all my life. Like I never worked out for
- 4:45Speaker 1: more than like six seven months at a time. Though,
- 4:47Speaker 1: right you man, I will always be on and off,
- 4:50Speaker 1: you know, you know two months, you know, I'm going
- 4:53Speaker 1: strong for two three months and then I fall off.
- 4:55Speaker 1: But the thing about when you got a group of
- 4:57Speaker 1: people that you work out with and y'all got things
- 4:59Speaker 1: and come, it motivates you. So the fact that I
- 5:03Speaker 1: might get up in the morning and we got a
- 5:04Speaker 1: group chat, that we all be in a group chat,
- 5:07Speaker 1: and and and when I see like fab in the gym.
- 5:11Speaker 1: It makes me want to get up and go to
- 5:13Speaker 1: the gym, like, all right, fuck it. The homies is
- 5:15Speaker 1: in there, because we'll be checking on each other no
- 5:17Speaker 1: matter what. Like, so I'm in LA. You know, anybody
- 5:22Speaker 1: could be anywhere. I was going to the gym while
- 5:25Speaker 1: I've been here, okay, And just because we all in
- 5:28Speaker 1: that group chat what's up, what we're doing. Get that money,
- 5:31Speaker 1: no matter what, no matter where you at, get it. Accountability. Man,
- 5:35Speaker 1: the homies. Yeah, a couple of homies it and you
- 5:38Speaker 1: like the results, You like how you feel, you like
- 5:39Speaker 1: how your body feels after that. So it's cool. That's dope.
- 5:45Speaker 1: Motivating a lot of people. Man, I think too, like,
- 5:47Speaker 1: like I just started training and I feel like it.
- 5:51Speaker 1: You know a lot of people trainers expensive, but I'm like,
- 5:53Speaker 1: I feel like I'm not paying the training. I'm paying
- 5:56Speaker 1: them because if I'm paying them, so I feel like
- 5:57Speaker 1: I have to go right. It gives you that mon
- 6:00Speaker 1: do to be in He'll be in my phone like, bro,
- 6:02Speaker 1: what the fuck you need that push? You gonna do
- 6:03Speaker 1: it on your own right, And that's the thing everybody,
- 6:05Speaker 1: And that's the thing about having a trainer. Jim Jones
- 6:10Speaker 1: is like a trainer, yes, us, like like now we're
- 6:15Speaker 1: doing these today, like super sets. He's an animal, like
- 6:18Speaker 1: he wants to he wants he's been yoked for a while. Yeah,
- 6:22Speaker 1: he's he's he's he's crazy with it. But the thing is,
- 6:26Speaker 1: the average person might feel like they need to get
- 6:29Speaker 1: in the gym with a trainer because that's the motivation
- 6:32Speaker 1: that they need. That trainer is going to be on
- 6:33Speaker 1: your line early in the morning, like, yo, get up,
- 6:36Speaker 1: let's go, get up. You need that push. We all
- 6:39Speaker 1: need that push some time. And well, when you're actually
- 6:41Speaker 1: working out, hold you over the fire, right, you know,
- 6:44Speaker 1: when you're working out alone, you might you ain't going
- 6:46Speaker 1: as hard as you go. If someone's like, no, two more,
- 6:49Speaker 1: three more, Hell no, you cheat yourself a lot, yourself
- 6:52Speaker 1: a lot. I know I do one hundred percent. I
- 6:54Speaker 1: think everybody does. The fact I'm good, I'm good. I
- 6:57Speaker 1: think I got did something something, something better than sweat. Yeah,
- 7:01Speaker 1: you don't go home, yeah exactly. Are you doing anything
- 7:04Speaker 1: on the diet, like are you are you trying to
- 7:06Speaker 1: eat right? Going and off with that though, that's the
- 7:08Speaker 1: toughest part. Yeah, yeah, yeah, that is. I just did
- 7:11Speaker 1: like a seven day liquid diet. Like I was just
- 7:15Speaker 1: doing protein protein shakes and protein balls for seven days.
- 7:19Speaker 1: I just did that. That was it. Yeah, I wasn't
- 7:22Speaker 1: touching nothing else. But the thing is is like balance.
- 7:24Speaker 1: The problem with that is that, like I lost like
- 7:26Speaker 1: seven pounds and then you know, you get right back
- 7:30Speaker 1: into eating the same stuff that you was. You know
- 7:33Speaker 1: that you ain't eating seven days, so you kind of
- 7:36Speaker 1: put it back home. But excuse me. I like to
- 7:39Speaker 1: do a lot of cardio. I like to have my
- 7:43Speaker 1: heart pumping. I like to bust that sweat because I
- 7:46Speaker 1: feel like cardio is just important than anything else. Yeah,
- 7:49Speaker 1: you know, you never know, we might have to be
- 7:51Speaker 1: wrestling some niggas every now and then. You know what
- 7:53Speaker 1: I mean, You never know this has happened. It's happened.
- 7:57Speaker 1: This has happened. Of course. Speaking of that, you are, uh,
- 8:01Speaker 1: in my opinion, probably the most infamous slapper and hip.
- 8:06Speaker 1: When I think of just rappers getting slapped or checked,
- 8:10Speaker 1: I just think of eight hand to guy. How would
- 8:16Speaker 1: we rate the Will Smith slap? That was a nice slap,
- 8:19Speaker 1: that was, But I looked at it close. I don't
- 8:24Speaker 1: think his palm connected. Almost think he held back a bit.
- 8:28Speaker 1: I don't know if he held back, But what happened
- 8:30Speaker 1: was that he went up, So he went up high
- 8:35Speaker 1: right and Chris rock rolled with it. So I think
- 8:40Speaker 1: when he when he when he was moving his face
- 8:42Speaker 1: like that, I feel like he missed the palm because
- 8:45Speaker 1: I saw it the slow motion, and I felt like
- 8:48Speaker 1: his fingers caught him. I don't know if he caught
- 8:52Speaker 1: the whole right, because if you I mean, it probably
- 8:55Speaker 1: would have been because Chris took it like a cham
- 8:57Speaker 1: but he, like you said, I don't think he got
- 8:59Speaker 1: because if you get hit with the palm, Paul, is
- 9:01Speaker 1: that PAULM That paem is different. It's different. The poem
- 9:04Speaker 1: is different. When you catch him with that with Paul
- 9:06Speaker 1: and father his daughters is different. It's different, all right, Paulma,
- 9:13Speaker 1: father his daughters. It is different. It's so I don't
- 9:17Speaker 1: know if he caught that. I think he caught just
- 9:19Speaker 1: I looked at the the slow motion of it when
- 9:23Speaker 1: you h I mean, obviously, when I first saw it,
- 9:25Speaker 1: I was like, because I saw a card of live
- 9:28Speaker 1: I was like, I thought that, yeah, I thought it
- 9:30Speaker 1: was a bit or something. It was fake me too.
- 9:33Speaker 1: But then but then the second time he started screaming
- 9:36Speaker 1: and you could hear his voice cracking. I'm like, oh, no,
- 9:38Speaker 1: that's That's when i knew it was real because he
- 9:40Speaker 1: smacked him and then he talked down to him, right,
- 9:43Speaker 1: So he smacked him, walked away. The smack looked fake
- 9:48Speaker 1: right right, because I'm looking at it on Instagram. When
- 9:53Speaker 1: he got when when the footage came out of what
- 9:56Speaker 1: he said afterwards, is when we really knew it was real.
- 9:59Speaker 1: When he was like, keep my wife's name out your mouth. No,
- 10:05Speaker 1: we've all heard people, We've all screamed like that at somebody. Yeah,
- 10:09Speaker 1: that's when you tie it. Yeah, that's when you tie it.
- 10:12Speaker 1: That's when you fed up. Enough's enough, enough's enough. That's
- 10:15Speaker 1: when you fed up with a lot of shit. And
- 10:16Speaker 1: it's just like man like ty Do, tired of playing
- 10:20Speaker 1: with you niggas. Keep my fucking wife's name out your
- 10:22Speaker 1: fucking mouth. Period. It's almost like Chris Rock just wore
- 10:28Speaker 1: everybody is all the memes from the last few years,
- 10:31Speaker 1: all the people making jokes. It's like Chris Chris Walk,
- 10:34Speaker 1: he just held the blunt of all of that. I
- 10:38Speaker 1: love Chris Rock. Chris Rock. Actually, one of my favorites
- 10:41Speaker 1: as fall as comedians is concerned. He's like in my
- 10:43Speaker 1: top two actually to me and Tim and Chappelle's stand
- 10:46Speaker 1: up wise stand up, I'm talking about strictly stand up.
- 10:48Speaker 1: He's like one of my He's like one of my
- 10:50Speaker 1: He's one of them right for me. So, Man, I
- 10:55Speaker 1: don't know if it was. I don't know if it
- 10:57Speaker 1: was a lot of stuff that Will's been dealing with,
- 11:02Speaker 1: because listen, let's keep it real man, And like life,
- 11:05Speaker 1: people got this thing about celebrities where they feel like
- 11:10Speaker 1: celebrities aren't as human as other people and people dealing
- 11:16Speaker 1: with shit. Man, everyday life ship ups downs, you know,
- 11:20Speaker 1: on your quest to chase after your dreams and on
- 11:23Speaker 1: your quest to conquer conquer other other other goals. There's
- 11:28Speaker 1: a lot that you're dealing with, man, Family issues, you know,
- 11:33Speaker 1: expectation issues you know of other people. So it's a lot.
- 11:37Speaker 1: Then you gotta deal with. We living in a time
- 11:40Speaker 1: where we didn't. We didn't used to hear the opinions
- 11:45Speaker 1: of everybody, right, social media made everybody accessible to it.
- 11:51Speaker 1: It's like you can't turn the noise off. Soon as
- 11:56Speaker 1: you open your phone. There's an opinion about you soon
- 11:59Speaker 1: as you and then and the phone has the phone
- 12:03Speaker 1: is is yours, your everything, so to speak, because this
- 12:08Speaker 1: is where you find your media, This is where you
- 12:10Speaker 1: find your news, This is where you find everything. You
- 12:13Speaker 1: want to You want to see what the weather is like,
- 12:15Speaker 1: you gotta check your phone, check your phone. Most people
- 12:17Speaker 1: don't have watches anymore. They got they got an Apple Watch. Right.
- 12:21Speaker 1: Nobody's even worried about what the what the watch say? Right? Right?
- 12:26Speaker 1: So soon as you open up your phone, there's an
- 12:29Speaker 1: opinion about you, there's a statement, there's a thought, there's
- 12:33Speaker 1: a there's a a criticism, there's a joke, there's whatever.
- 12:41Speaker 1: And people, all the celebrities or what have you, on
- 12:46Speaker 1: any level, have to deal with that. And it's like
- 12:53Speaker 1: I have to have a thick faced, black heart mentality
- 12:59Speaker 1: and not allow certain things to ruffle my feathers. But
- 13:05Speaker 1: sometimes at some point people become human and they're not
- 13:11Speaker 1: in the mood to play, you understand. So I'm not
- 13:15Speaker 1: one of them niggas that feel like, oh, you shouldn't
- 13:21Speaker 1: had no problems with violence. I don't believe in that.
- 13:25Speaker 1: I believe that there's a time and a place for everything,
- 13:32Speaker 1: and I believe I mean, we're in like in a
- 13:35Speaker 1: country that was built on violence. That don't preach to
- 13:37Speaker 1: us now about violence when this is the whole culture
- 13:43Speaker 1: of this country in its inception and what went on
- 13:47Speaker 1: here for thousands hundreds of years, not thousands hundreds of years.
- 13:53Speaker 1: And I don't I don't think like I'm not here,
- 13:59Speaker 1: like say, oh he wont for handling his business. Maybe
- 14:02Speaker 1: he should have maybe should have been there or whatever.
- 14:04Speaker 1: But when you're in your mold, you in your mold,
- 14:06Speaker 1: and how you feel is how you feel as a man. Now,
- 14:10Speaker 1: as a man, you feel disrespected, and however you want
- 14:14Speaker 1: to deal with that disrespect is solely up to you, period,
- 14:19Speaker 1: point blank. Yeah. I would say, like, you can't tell
- 14:22Speaker 1: people how to react to this fact. That's the thing.
- 14:25Speaker 1: People got a problem with that nigga say some some
- 14:29Speaker 1: slick shit to you and then you go crazy on him,
- 14:33Speaker 1: and then he'll say, it ain't that serious, nigga. It's
- 14:37Speaker 1: not that serious to you, right, but it's optimum serious
- 14:43Speaker 1: to me. This is maximum serious to me. What you
- 14:48Speaker 1: care about is different than what I care about. Your lines,
- 14:52Speaker 1: your principles, your code is different than mins. So don't
- 14:57Speaker 1: tell me it's not that the reason, oh you had
- 15:01Speaker 1: to do all that fucking right. So that's the thing
- 15:05Speaker 1: that's the difference, and you know that's that's people. I mean,
- 15:09Speaker 1: you know, the somebody will disrespect you and then tell
- 15:12Speaker 1: you you shouldn't have handled them. You meet disrespect with
- 15:17Speaker 1: what with disrespect? Right? I mean at least I mean obviously,
- 15:22Speaker 1: like you said, I guess it's a subjective thing. Depends
- 15:24Speaker 1: on some people can take shit a certain way or
- 15:29Speaker 1: or or be the bigger person. But at the same
- 15:31Speaker 1: time the same time, and then here's the thing on
- 15:34Speaker 1: the flip side to that is people say it was
- 15:37Speaker 1: the joke, that's serious. I understood the joke. Now it's like, okay,
- 15:44Speaker 1: here's the thing. If Jada is really having a what
- 15:48Speaker 1: they say she has a condition, she's not. She's not
- 15:52Speaker 1: losing her hair because she wants to cut it off.
- 15:57Speaker 1: She cuts it off because she has to or whatever
- 16:00Speaker 1: it is. I would saying, you don't make fun of
- 16:02Speaker 1: people for things that can't change. Right, So that's something
- 16:05Speaker 1: you know that's a little bit more deeper because that's
- 16:08Speaker 1: a medical condition. And then you know, you could tell
- 16:11Speaker 1: like so many people like like I just listened to
- 16:12Speaker 1: comments like oh well he was he was laughing when
- 16:15Speaker 1: it happened Yo, Laughing sometimes is a is a defense mechanism.
- 16:20Speaker 1: You ever seen somebody so mad that they laugh like
- 16:24Speaker 1: it's scary? Scar Like that's different. Sometimes you you you
- 16:32Speaker 1: you don't know what, nothing else to do but laugh
- 16:36Speaker 1: in in in the most disrespectful situations. The nigga just
- 16:41Speaker 1: like we're but in your in your mind and in
- 16:44Speaker 1: your heart, you're saying, I'm gonna burn this nigga, Like
- 16:48Speaker 1: that's what you're saying. Like you know, it's crazy. I've
- 16:52Speaker 1: heard you talk about why slapping someone it's so much
- 16:56Speaker 1: more It gets your point across so much more than
- 16:59Speaker 1: if you were to punch somebody. I'm gonna tell you that.
- 17:03Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you the really ship. Ever, when I
- 17:06Speaker 1: was in prison, my man explained this to me, and
- 17:09Speaker 1: I told the story before he said, yo, because you know,
- 17:13Speaker 1: I wasn't. I was locked up in the time and
- 17:15Speaker 1: we was you know, a lot of cuttings, and we
- 17:17Speaker 1: was cut We would be cutting, cutting each other and
- 17:20Speaker 1: ship like that, right, And I was getting I was
- 17:25Speaker 1: trying to go home and I was trying to get
- 17:27Speaker 1: away from some of the ship I was involved in.
- 17:30Speaker 1: So a friend of mine told me some shit about
- 17:33Speaker 1: slapping niggas. He really explained this to me like it
- 17:37Speaker 1: was an art. He said, Yo, man, you can smack niggas.
- 17:41Speaker 1: I said, Yo, when you smack a nigga, he gonna
- 17:42Speaker 1: take that disrespect. He's gonna go crazy. He said. Nah,
- 17:46Speaker 1: he said, when you smack a nigga, why you right
- 17:53Speaker 1: when you talking to him, the average nigga is going
- 18:00Speaker 1: to go into shock. You gotta understand. Fuck with all
- 18:05Speaker 1: these rappers is talking about the average man is not
- 18:10Speaker 1: as valient as they acting like I'm talking about don't
- 18:16Speaker 1: you ain't got time to go get your gun and
- 18:17Speaker 1: all this other shit. I ain't talking about that, And
- 18:19Speaker 1: I'm talking about being straight up violent, fighting, cutting, stabbing
- 18:24Speaker 1: right here on the spot. Everybody not with that, all right,
- 18:27Speaker 1: So if you smack a man, the average person, the
- 18:32Speaker 1: average man is going to go into like a shock,
- 18:34Speaker 1: like oh my god, like his mind is gonna be frazzled.
- 18:37Speaker 1: He just told me because he felt like the audacity
- 18:43Speaker 1: of you to smack him is so shocking. At the
- 18:47Speaker 1: same time, it's fearful because he's saying, damn this nigga,
- 18:52Speaker 1: smack the shit out me. And and that's what That's
- 18:55Speaker 1: what Chris told you exact same exact thing. He explained
- 18:59Speaker 1: this to me many years a goal and the same
- 19:01Speaker 1: thing that Chris Rock displayed is what he what he
- 19:04Speaker 1: was talking about, what he talked about. And it really works.
- 19:10Speaker 1: I've tried it. If Will would have went on stage
- 19:12Speaker 1: and punched him, totally different reaction, even if he would
- 19:15Speaker 1: have took the punch. Sometimes sometimes a punch is different, right,
- 19:20Speaker 1: A smack is more audacious, it's more disrespectful. It's a
- 19:24Speaker 1: psych it's psychological. Chris said, oh shit, wow, Will Smith
- 19:32Speaker 1: just smacked the shit out of me, And this is
- 19:34Speaker 1: what you're talking about. And I tried it. I tried
- 19:36Speaker 1: it many times after that, and it works. I'm telling you,
- 19:39Speaker 1: it really works. Now, that's not to say that that
- 19:44Speaker 1: works for every man. You go like this to some
- 19:49Speaker 1: niggas and it's and they with it. You understand. So
- 19:53Speaker 1: it doesn't It doesn't work with every man. But what
- 19:55Speaker 1: did I say earlier? The average man is not as
- 19:57Speaker 1: violent as he think he is. That a walking person,
- 20:01Speaker 1: it's not a violent person. I don't think everybody's is
- 20:06Speaker 1: equipped or everybody is instinctively violent that way, you understand.
- 20:13Speaker 1: So it fucking works. Got to stop the interview real quick.

- 22:14Speaker 1: you ever because you've been a part of some I
- 22:17Speaker 1: mean earlier on like like I feel like when you
- 22:19Speaker 1: first got out and when you were running around with
- 22:21Speaker 1: Kim and obviously when you first got on Atlantic the
- 22:24Speaker 1: high headed days, you were a part of some public
- 22:28Speaker 1: altercations yea before Instagram, yeah, right, when we would just
- 22:34Speaker 1: have to read about it on all hip hop dot
- 22:36Speaker 1: Com or whatever the fuck, right, Yea, Yeah, any of
- 22:40Speaker 1: those altercations ever result in you, like maybe ten fifteen
- 22:43Speaker 1: years later, burying the hatchet with any of those because
- 22:47Speaker 1: I think, like, because you had a situation with Berg
- 22:49Speaker 1: right back in the day, it was like yeah, and
- 22:53Speaker 1: I'm like hit hit maker, and Jim Jones got a
- 22:55Speaker 1: whole album coming out, so like and and you're a
- 22:57Speaker 1: different guy, you know, Yeah, like we every day we
- 23:02Speaker 1: were trying to get to a place where we can
- 23:06Speaker 1: be better than before. Right, So I can't like sit
- 23:11Speaker 1: up here and act like I'm I'm this actively involving
- 23:17Speaker 1: myself with some bullshit. You've grown so like the same
- 23:22Speaker 1: guy you were back there, right, It's like it don't
- 23:24Speaker 1: it doesn't even make no sense. So anything that I
- 23:26Speaker 1: went through before, so you got understand, like a lot
- 23:30Speaker 1: of the things that I had been involved with in
- 23:33Speaker 1: the way I was moving, it was because I didn't
- 23:36Speaker 1: know any different. I didn't know any better, Like you
- 23:39Speaker 1: understand where my education is coming from. Only been in
- 23:41Speaker 1: two places in my whole life. I've been in the
- 23:43Speaker 1: street and I've been in prison. That's the only two
- 23:48Speaker 1: places I've ever been in my life. That's it. I
- 23:53Speaker 1: had never been in a in a in a in
- 23:56Speaker 1: a corporate world, had never worked in the corporate America.
- 24:00Speaker 1: I never had a job. Anything that I had done,
- 24:03Speaker 1: you know, in my life involve the streets and involved
- 24:10Speaker 1: when I went to prison. Then you understand what that is.
- 24:13Speaker 1: So what does that teach you? Just two places that
- 24:15Speaker 1: teach you how to be violent and teach you how
- 24:18Speaker 1: to survive. So it doesn't teach you how to handle
- 24:21Speaker 1: your problems diplomatically civilly. Right, So now when I get
- 24:26Speaker 1: in the industry and I'm saying, all right, cool, your
- 24:28Speaker 1: niggas is out here idolizing these guys over here, I'm
- 24:31Speaker 1: the real thing. So when I'm getting into things, my
- 24:36Speaker 1: only action, my own reaction is to deal with it
- 24:39Speaker 1: the way I only know how to. And then people
- 24:43Speaker 1: looking at me like you bugging right, And I'm saying,
- 24:50Speaker 1: y'all don't want the real thing. They're like, nah, you
- 24:52Speaker 1: could look like it and act like it, we don't
- 24:54Speaker 1: really want you to do it, though, And it took
- 24:57Speaker 1: me a while to kind of really get that because
- 25:01Speaker 1: for me, it was it was it was staying in
- 25:04Speaker 1: a lot of relationships and it was kind of like
- 25:07Speaker 1: pushing opportunities away from me. That you definitely had a
- 25:10Speaker 1: stigma early on. But I've known you for a long time,
- 25:13Speaker 1: so I've always and anybody know me, no, I've been
- 25:17Speaker 1: always been solid, always be solid, Always always been solid,
- 25:20Speaker 1: always been humble, always been you know, confident, but always
- 25:23Speaker 1: been who I was, you know, and always been solid. Right,
- 25:27Speaker 1: But you've always had your principles, You've always had right,
- 25:30Speaker 1: you know, look right, I think people know you don't
- 25:33Speaker 1: fuck around with main like and that's that's not a
- 25:35Speaker 1: bad thing, but you know, right, I definitely think that
- 25:37Speaker 1: you you definitely had a stigma, right, But if you
- 25:39Speaker 1: ain't but if you don't, if you don't hit the
- 25:43Speaker 1: top automatically and you got to fight for everything that
- 25:48Speaker 1: you gotta get, then you then when you when you
- 25:50Speaker 1: got that stigma chases the money away. Understand So if
- 25:54Speaker 1: you if you're a nigga that hit straight to the top,
- 25:59Speaker 1: and it gotta deal with you. See, they ain't have
- 26:01Speaker 1: to deal with me. But as soon as I ain't
- 26:05Speaker 1: have a record, then it was like, okay, ship, we
- 26:09Speaker 1: don't have to deal with him. He's not that big,
- 26:13Speaker 1: he's not that hot. So that's the difference. So then
- 26:17Speaker 1: you you actually running the money away. Because when you're
- 26:21Speaker 1: not hot and you're not on fire and you're not
- 26:25Speaker 1: the rapper at the time, then your relationships in your
- 26:29Speaker 1: in who you are help you through that time, right
- 26:34Speaker 1: you understand, like just being who you are and just
- 26:38Speaker 1: having certain relationships can still keep you afloat until you
- 26:42Speaker 1: until you find your next situation, whether that's another record
- 26:47Speaker 1: or another deal whatever, you understand a time, Yeah, that's fair.
- 26:52Speaker 1: I think, like you said, like I think, if somebody
- 26:55Speaker 1: is scorching, but people are willing to look past a
- 26:59Speaker 1: lot of what ever, I mean, a young boy, like
- 27:03Speaker 1: if you if young boy wasn't doing the numbers. People
- 27:05Speaker 1: be like this guy is crazy, like what are we
- 27:07Speaker 1: doing with this guy? But he's stern ship up with
- 27:09Speaker 1: the world. Like when you when you're on fire, you
- 27:10Speaker 1: could do whatever you want to do. When you gotta
- 27:13Speaker 1: when you got a claw and you gotta climb, and
- 27:15Speaker 1: you gotta scramble for everything that you got or everything
- 27:18Speaker 1: that you're trying to get, and they making you work
- 27:21Speaker 1: for it because I ain't. They never made it easy
- 27:23Speaker 1: for me. I had to work for everything. I know, man,
- 27:25Speaker 1: you understand. So people you're doing your nigga like ship
- 27:30Speaker 1: it's crazy too, because like your first album to me
- 27:33Speaker 1: is still one of the more slept on albums. I
- 27:36Speaker 1: know you did a sequel, but that first project, the
- 27:39Speaker 1: way you like put together your story from the first record,
- 27:44Speaker 1: I see. I see people get credit for having that style,
- 27:49Speaker 1: the concept of the project, making it like a movie
- 27:52Speaker 1: and all that, and I say, like, I did that
- 27:55Speaker 1: and falllessly and nobody really talks about it. But the
- 27:59Speaker 1: people who ex oristed with me such a good album,
- 28:02Speaker 1: but they probably great album, and the way we did
- 28:05Speaker 1: it it was like a movie. It told my life
- 28:06Speaker 1: story from the beginning, all the time, and because I
- 28:12Speaker 1: was a fan of actually when people really made albums
- 28:16Speaker 1: that was concepts. In the nineties, there was a lot
- 28:20Speaker 1: of conceptual albums, like people were put together albums that
- 28:24Speaker 1: felt like movies. So I was a fan of that.
- 28:27Speaker 1: Now I wanted to tell my story was very important
- 28:29Speaker 1: to me, right, So I don't get the credit and
- 28:33Speaker 1: I watched people give the same credit to other people
- 28:37Speaker 1: for doing that. But you know what, I don't get
- 28:39Speaker 1: stuck there. I don't get stuck in the fact that
- 28:45Speaker 1: I'm underrated. Right, you understand. I don't get stuck there
- 28:50Speaker 1: because when you when you're stuck on what the problem is,
- 28:54Speaker 1: you're not looking for the solutions. So fuck the fact
- 28:57Speaker 1: that that people that people don't get it. Let's just
- 29:03Speaker 1: keep working, Let's just keep let's just keep pushing, let's
- 29:06Speaker 1: keep opening the doors, let's keep doing things and slowly
- 29:09Speaker 1: and short, slowly, but surely people will see what it is.
- 29:12Speaker 1: And that's what's happening. Now we have the podcast, we
- 29:15Speaker 1: got the you know, the music coming, so it's it's
- 29:18Speaker 1: a lot of shit happening now that wasn't happening for
- 29:20Speaker 1: me two years ago. Was my band Dan on that
- 29:23Speaker 1: album or it was on a tape, right, that was
- 29:24Speaker 1: on a mixtape that is that on Spotify? It might
- 29:28Speaker 1: be I feel like it's something like that. I feel
- 29:30Speaker 1: like every time I hear it, I gotta go on
- 29:31Speaker 1: that Pith might be yeah, because it was that wasn't
- 29:34Speaker 1: around it. That record was crazy on that right, talk
- 29:39Speaker 1: about the Lobby boys ship, because obviously you and Jim
- 29:42Speaker 1: come together doing a collas. He's he's on fire, he's
- 29:47Speaker 1: in his bag. I feel like he's rapping at the
- 29:49Speaker 1: highest level he's ever wrapped that and and that's the thing.
- 29:51Speaker 1: And then and he helped me, right, because you gotta
- 29:55Speaker 1: think musically he had more. He had He had had
- 30:01Speaker 1: a lot more going on than I did, even much
- 30:05Speaker 1: more active. It's been way more active. And it wasn't
- 30:07Speaker 1: that I wasn't working. It was the fact that I
- 30:10Speaker 1: felt like I was. I kept being in situations that
- 30:12Speaker 1: that was not allowing me to touch the people. Meaning
- 30:17Speaker 1: I was dropping projects, you know, And and because I
- 30:21Speaker 1: didn't have the the the push, or the right structure
- 30:26Speaker 1: or the right situation, it wasn't getting there. People will
- 30:31Speaker 1: stay like when you wanna drop something like I just
- 30:33Speaker 1: dropped something three months, I'll just drop something two three
- 30:34Speaker 1: months ago, like you mean, oh, I ain't even know.
- 30:37Speaker 1: And that's like that really bothers you when you put
- 30:40Speaker 1: your work, you put your art, your art out here,
- 30:45Speaker 1: and then you you dealing with a label, whether that's
- 30:48Speaker 1: independent or you're dealing with distribution, and they put it
- 30:53Speaker 1: out and yet nobody knows. So me and Jim always
- 31:01Speaker 1: talked about doing the Lobby Boys projects project back when
- 31:04Speaker 1: when when Puff and and Ross would say that they
- 31:08Speaker 1: was the Bugatti Boys. So me and him had a
- 31:11Speaker 1: record back then and we said he said on the record,
- 31:13Speaker 1: he said, shout out to the Bugatti Boys. But me
- 31:16Speaker 1: and Main or we the Lobby Boys. And we always
- 31:19Speaker 1: tell this years ago. You know, we got to do
- 31:21Speaker 1: an album together. We always talked about that. But you know,
- 31:24Speaker 1: sometimes the hardest thing in the world is to get
- 31:25Speaker 1: too artist to be on the same page at the
- 31:27Speaker 1: same time. Of course, so you know, years go by
- 31:31Speaker 1: and then you know our relationship was just just got
- 31:33Speaker 1: strong and strong through the years. But you know, I
- 31:36Speaker 1: hit him one day. I was just in that mode
- 31:38Speaker 1: after the pandemic, and I said, Yo, I'm almost ready, bro. Mentally,
- 31:42Speaker 1: I just needed to get there once I got my
- 31:44Speaker 1: podcast rolling, I wanted to get that, you know, solid.
- 31:48Speaker 1: I wanted to have other things going on other than
- 31:50Speaker 1: just music. I wanted to have other components and you
- 31:54Speaker 1: know what I mean. So I got that rolling, and
- 31:56Speaker 1: then I called him and said, Yo, listen, I'm ready.
- 32:01Speaker 1: Let me go in the studio first though, and get
- 32:04Speaker 1: some ship off my chest. And and I did like
- 32:10Speaker 1: four fist six records and he came down. He was
- 32:12Speaker 1: just like, oh, let's go, and we and we just
- 32:15Speaker 1: started banging ship out every day and and the project
- 32:19Speaker 1: is we found the formula, man, like we got it
- 32:22Speaker 1: like this is I mean, this is uh, this is
- 32:25Speaker 1: gonna be very serious. I guarantee you this is uh.
- 32:28Speaker 1: You're gonna love it. Man. I would love to hear
- 32:31Speaker 1: you like locking with like kind of like what Jim
- 32:35Speaker 1: did with the heat Makers for for Capo, with like
- 32:37Speaker 1: a produce, like one producer and just give me, like
- 32:41Speaker 1: who the producer? Man, we gotta find him as an alchemist.
- 32:45Speaker 1: Me and scram Jones would be hard like me and
- 32:49Speaker 1: me and he me and what's the name for the
- 32:52Speaker 1: heat Makers just talked about doing that. I don't want
- 32:55Speaker 1: to hear no club ship from you. I don't want
- 32:57Speaker 1: to hear no radio ship from you. I want you
- 32:58Speaker 1: to talk that fucking talk. But you know the thing
- 33:01Speaker 1: is this though, so with the lobby boys, it's not
- 33:05Speaker 1: really that's some clubs like but you gotta understand that's
- 33:12Speaker 1: that's that's why I am done and you're actually at
- 33:15Speaker 1: the clubs. Yeah, Like I make music for who of
- 33:18Speaker 1: who I am, right, So it's like I want to
- 33:22Speaker 1: be able to go out and hear like the dre
- 33:25Speaker 1: I was outside niggas. So a lot of niggas that
- 33:28Speaker 1: make a lot of the underground ship like that. They
- 33:30Speaker 1: niggas that just their lifestyle is different. I like the
- 33:36Speaker 1: women and I like the parties. I like the outside.
- 33:40Speaker 1: You know, I probably don't go out as much as
- 33:43Speaker 1: I used to, but that's my lifestyle. I like that,
- 33:47Speaker 1: you understand. And you know you would see me places,
- 33:51Speaker 1: you know, New York, La all over and you would
- 33:54Speaker 1: see me outside usually an I thought with women like
- 34:00Speaker 1: women man, and you know, I like that have a
- 34:03Speaker 1: good time. So sometimes the music is going to reflect that,
- 34:05Speaker 1: which is fine as far as like just catalog wise,
- 34:10Speaker 1: like you have a bunch of catalog but like with
- 34:13Speaker 1: the like when there's guys like gym or the Griselda
- 34:17Speaker 1: guys dropping so often? Is that something you're interested in doing? Like,
- 34:21Speaker 1: you know what year I got to put four projects.
- 34:23Speaker 1: So so what happened is that now that I see
- 34:28Speaker 1: the game has changed and now that this Lobby Boys
- 34:30Speaker 1: shit is going to really help me, right, it's gonna
- 34:33Speaker 1: help me a lot. So I'm already three projects in,
- 34:38Speaker 1: so I already have my two next projects ready. So
- 34:42Speaker 1: you're already so were videos and every clip's ready ready? Wow?
- 34:47Speaker 1: So the clips. So once the Lobby Boys hit you
- 34:50Speaker 1: heard the first record, right, lobby bys an have them
- 34:52Speaker 1: like cool? So you know we we we about to
- 34:55Speaker 1: drop another one. We got to drink with fab or
- 34:57Speaker 1: Fave yo, we we we it's coming. Once that happens,
- 35:01Speaker 1: and once we get through that cycle, I got another
- 35:04Speaker 1: one waiting, and then I got another one waiting. I
- 35:07Speaker 1: think that's the way. That's the only way to go.
- 35:09Speaker 1: And I like it now because we can still it's
- 35:11Speaker 1: fun now because we can still do you can still
- 35:14Speaker 1: do all that music and still go over here and
- 35:17Speaker 1: do my podcast and do other things. So that's what
- 35:19Speaker 1: I like about today. It's the fact that you can
- 35:22Speaker 1: have so many different components to who you are so
- 35:24Speaker 1: what your brand is that you can still do it.
- 35:27Speaker 1: We just did to deal with Fox Souls. I saw that. Yeah,
- 35:30Speaker 1: kitchen talk exactly. And it's not about me being a rapper, right,
- 35:33Speaker 1: So this is this is the things that I like,
- 35:35Speaker 1: what's funny because like once, I mean, obviously Joe's always
- 35:39Speaker 1: done like some sort of version of like podcasting or
- 35:41Speaker 1: vlogging or whatever. But you know, I always thought guys
- 35:45Speaker 1: like yourself, guys like fat Joke, guys like Nori before
- 35:48Speaker 1: Noorri did drink Jink Champs, I was like, man, like,
- 35:51Speaker 1: I would like to hear these guys interview people. These
- 35:53Speaker 1: guys talk like You're like, there was always one of
- 35:56Speaker 1: those guys on that list. So when you started your ship,
- 35:59Speaker 1: I was like, fine, yeah, you know what I mean.
- 36:01Speaker 1: Like it took me a minute. People were saying that
- 36:04Speaker 1: to me. They was like, yo, you you need to
- 36:06Speaker 1: do a podcast, and I was like, all right, cool,
- 36:08Speaker 1: I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna do it. And I
- 36:09Speaker 1: was always and then look years ago it was me
- 36:12Speaker 1: and Uncle Murder. We had did a deal with Revolt
- 36:16Speaker 1: where we had a show. It was called Brooklyn Boys,
- 36:20Speaker 1: I think, and we shot two episodes, but it never
- 36:22Speaker 1: came out, and it was nothing to do with with
- 36:24Speaker 1: with us. It was whatever Revolt was going through at
- 36:27Speaker 1: the time. So I was just trying to find I
- 36:32Speaker 1: was taking meetings, people was coming at me about doing podcasting,
- 36:35Speaker 1: and I was trying to figure out what I what
- 36:39Speaker 1: I wanted, what I wanted wanted it to be about it,
- 36:42Speaker 1: and how I wanted to present it. And you know
- 36:45Speaker 1: what it is, It's like you just wind up procrastinating
- 36:49Speaker 1: when you're looking for this, and you're also looking for
- 36:52Speaker 1: excuse as to why you're not you haven't started it
- 36:54Speaker 1: right because you're like, I can't do it like that.
- 36:56Speaker 1: They gotta be like this treasure, and you keep over
- 36:59Speaker 1: overthinking and then overthinking and over analyzing that you never
- 37:02Speaker 1: do shit. So I'm sitting on quarantine. I'm at home.
- 37:10Speaker 1: I'm saying shit, fuck. I just went and bought me
- 37:15Speaker 1: some studio equipment from my house, learned how to engineer
- 37:19Speaker 1: a little bit, and started to recording myself. Then I say,
- 37:23Speaker 1: you know what, We're gonna shoot the podcast in the kitchen.
- 37:29Speaker 1: Were going because we always hang out in the kitchen.
- 37:32Speaker 1: In the street, the first place you go is the kitchen.
- 37:35Speaker 1: It's the beginning. It's the beginning of shit, right. The
- 37:38Speaker 1: kitchen is where you go. And I'm like, fuck, I
- 37:43Speaker 1: don't know how I'm gonna do it. We're gonna paint
- 37:45Speaker 1: this wall. We're just gonna do it. And and that's
- 37:49Speaker 1: what it was. We just did it. And I made
- 37:51Speaker 1: all those mistakes and kept going and kept going and
- 37:54Speaker 1: kept going and kept going to the greatest thing you
- 37:56Speaker 1: could do is just keep going. That's what I tell everybody.
- 37:59Speaker 1: The problem is is I mean, dude, obviously, I've been
- 38:02Speaker 1: doing terrestial radio forever, so like I planned on doing
- 38:05Speaker 1: like the bootleg Head podcast while I was also doing radio.
- 38:10Speaker 1: But I'd always been like, man, I was supposed to
- 38:12Speaker 1: do something with Nordy because Nordy had was working on
- 38:16Speaker 1: his drink Champs network. So when I had announced I
- 38:18Speaker 1: was gonna do my podcast, nor he had hit me like,
- 38:20Speaker 1: don't do it yet, I'm gonna sign you to my
- 38:22Speaker 1: shit ended up not working out whatever. So then I
- 38:26Speaker 1: was like, all right, well, if I'm gonna launch this,
- 38:28Speaker 1: I really need to make sure the first guest is
- 38:30Speaker 1: fucking crazy, Like I gotta make sure. And I just
- 38:33Speaker 1: would say I pecked myself out for like two years
- 38:36Speaker 1: then the pandemic happened. I'm still a real I'm still
- 38:39Speaker 1: a real to this day. But we can't go into
- 38:42Speaker 1: the radio station. We can't do in person interviews. The
- 38:45Speaker 1: IG live interviews were fucking trash. So I'm like, I
- 38:49Speaker 1: just bought a recording studio. These motherfuckers can't tell me
- 38:52Speaker 1: what I do at my place. And I was like,
- 38:55Speaker 1: let me just get you know, Freddie Gibbs is one
- 38:57Speaker 1: of my best friends. I was like, let me just
- 38:58Speaker 1: get fred to come on and shoot the shit with me,
- 39:00Speaker 1: and we're just gonna drop it. And the shit went
- 39:01Speaker 1: crazy for one hundred and sixty episodes in into a
- 39:06Speaker 1: year and a half. Dope. We got to stop the
- 39:08Speaker 1: interview right now. Listen, man, I gotta say about blue Choo.
- 39:12Speaker 1: Our good folks at blue Choo, one of our sponsors
- 39:14Speaker 1: for the podcast, and a product that I use. All
- 39:16Speaker 1: right now, everyone thinks that, you know, maybe taking a
- 39:20Speaker 1: product like blue Choo, which has the same active ingredients
- 39:23Speaker 1: as Cialis and viagra, is a thing. It's not a thing.
- 39:26Speaker 1: It's very normal. You might have anxiety, you might have stress.
- 39:30Speaker 1: You need that confident to get your fuck on right.
- 39:32Speaker 1: Trust me, you want to lay Thor's hammer down on
- 39:36Speaker 1: that puss, you know what I'm saying or that, but hole,
- 39:38Speaker 1: whatever you're into, let me tell you some the best
- 39:41Speaker 1: part about blue Choo. Not only is it in a
- 39:43Speaker 1: chewable form, but you know, when we think about going
- 39:46Speaker 1: to the doctor's office and getting a prescription for something
- 39:49Speaker 1: like this, we think about it as maybe an embarrassing
- 39:52Speaker 1: conversation to have, an awkward conversation to have. Well, blue
- 39:56Speaker 1: Choo is an online prescription service. There's no visits to

- 40:18Speaker 1: all forms of ed all right. And let me tell you,

- 40:23Speaker 1: just want to impress a young lady, you gotta pop
- 40:26Speaker 1: that blue Choo. Man that have your dick. It might
- 40:29Speaker 1: add a half an inch to your dick. Your dick's
- 40:31Speaker 1: never been so in your fucking life. I mean it serious.
- 40:34Speaker 1: Ain't be it serious? Yo? Even if you just want
- 40:37Speaker 1: to jerk off and just be like, yo, this is nice.
- 40:40Speaker 1: It's fucking amazing. So go over to blue Choo. It

- 41:20Speaker 1: show the shout out to blue Choo. Let's get back
- 41:22Speaker 1: to the interview. But like you said, man, if you
- 41:24Speaker 1: really it's very much, procrastination is like the biggest right,
- 41:29Speaker 1: and that's start anything anything like starting a business though,
- 41:34Speaker 1: anything working out being an artist and being an artist,
- 41:38Speaker 1: anything anything that that that that's creative. Anything that takes effort.
- 41:45Speaker 1: Most people don't. It's easy to just get up and
- 41:49Speaker 1: do do what you told. It's easy, super easy, and
- 41:52Speaker 1: just follow instructions because you don't have to think. For that,
- 41:56Speaker 1: there's no there's no there's much effort. There's a program.
- 42:00Speaker 1: I gotta be up at seven, I gotta be out
- 42:02Speaker 1: out the house by eight when I get to work.
- 42:03Speaker 1: I moved these boxes here, or I stocked this shelf right,
- 42:06Speaker 1: so it doesn't take it doesn't take much. And and
- 42:09Speaker 1: that is most of the world, like most of the
- 42:11Speaker 1: population you know, is our followers. And that's the thing.
- 42:18Speaker 1: It takes much more courage to get up and do
- 42:21Speaker 1: something that is more challenging, or to do something that
- 42:25Speaker 1: outside of your comfort zone. That's the key to feel me.
- 42:28Speaker 1: It's scary. You had to like for you, it was
- 42:32Speaker 1: like trial and error. I'm sure with the pocket everything, everything,
- 42:34Speaker 1: my whole career, my whole life. I came home from prison,
- 42:37Speaker 1: I said, I'm gonna do this music ship. I didn't.
- 42:38Speaker 1: I didn't know nothing. I didn't know I didn't really
- 42:40Speaker 1: have music friends. I didn't. I didn't I didn't have
- 42:43Speaker 1: real uh studio experience. I'm not coming from a music background,
- 42:47Speaker 1: and and and when I came in, there was no
- 42:50Speaker 1: other rappers that had done what I had done. It
- 42:52Speaker 1: was no other artists that was ever that ever didn't
- 42:55Speaker 1: the amount of time that I had done that that
- 42:58Speaker 1: was successful. None. I'm one of one. Yeah at that time. Yeah,
- 43:03Speaker 1: no other artists had had had There was no other
- 43:08Speaker 1: artists that was in the music business that had done
- 43:15Speaker 1: a large amount of prison time that became successful artists
- 43:19Speaker 1: after prison after prison. That's real. Yeah, people had small
- 43:23Speaker 1: bids a year or two here, you know, but yeah, no,
- 43:25Speaker 1: that's real. Nah, No, nobody, what is your uh? You know?
- 43:29Speaker 1: Because New York in general right now we're on fire,
- 43:33Speaker 1: on fire, we don't fire. Shout out to the you know,
- 43:36Speaker 1: the homie Nams who we've had coming up on the
- 43:38Speaker 1: show since twenty seventeen. He was just with me. He
- 43:42Speaker 1: it's always been an incredible artist. He got fucking bars
- 43:46Speaker 1: like his personalities. Yeah, I like that guy. And he's
- 43:49Speaker 1: somebody who stayed down too, because he's been doing this
- 43:51Speaker 1: ship for a minute, stay down long enough to come up,
- 43:55Speaker 1: you know what I mean. And like I said about
- 43:57Speaker 1: this era, were living in social media. You don't know
- 43:59Speaker 1: how you're gonna get it. He got hot off of
- 44:01Speaker 1: just being him being himself, being funny on social media,
- 44:05Speaker 1: which led people back to his music. So and the
- 44:07Speaker 1: music checked out. Good music in this good music. Yeah
- 44:11Speaker 1: that's real. I mean, obviously Buffalo Boys are killing the
- 44:13Speaker 1: shout told definitely. We got Grizzeld on the album. Oh
- 44:16Speaker 1: that's gonna be big. We got Gazeld on album like
- 44:19Speaker 1: who all from Griselda like everyone, Benny Way on one
- 44:23Speaker 1: joint and we got Benny on another joint. Oh that's big.
- 44:26Speaker 1: That's big man, Benny jointed crazy, Benny's on fire right. Yeah,
- 44:29Speaker 1: I love Benny. How are you? Like? I feel like
- 44:33Speaker 1: what what they've done is very much kind of like
- 44:37Speaker 1: it's kind of like a renaissance of like the ship
- 44:39Speaker 1: we kind of grew up loving in terms of like,
- 44:42Speaker 1: you know, sound, just sonically and just I just appreciate
- 44:45Speaker 1: that straight and I just appreciate like they don't like
- 44:48Speaker 1: I'm like, you know, Benny's got records that like have
- 44:52Speaker 1: like big artists on them, but like I don't, like
- 44:54Speaker 1: I've never heard them force a radio record or like
- 44:58Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. Like it's like they're like yo,
- 44:59Speaker 1: this is what we do. But like I said, it
- 45:02Speaker 1: all it all goes back to your lifestyle. It all
- 45:05Speaker 1: goes goes back to the type of person you are.
- 45:07Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying you You know you playing
- 45:12Speaker 1: with pistols and getting money in the street, then that's
- 45:14Speaker 1: probably what you're gonna talk about, you know. And if
- 45:17Speaker 1: you know, eating pussy and having three sims was your?
- 45:22Speaker 1: Was your what you was doing on Lisia, that's gonna
- 45:24Speaker 1: come out to in the music, you know what I mean?
- 45:26Speaker 1: Shout out to you. What's the most amount of women
- 45:30Speaker 1: at once that Matos had at one time? Nothing? Six?
- 45:37Speaker 1: Maybe six? So a sevensome? Technically seven? Are you the
- 45:41Speaker 1: seventh or the fi that's the seventh? That's that's maybe five?
- 45:45Speaker 1: Between five and I want to say five or six?
- 45:48Speaker 1: So six or seven some? Definitely five, though I can't remember.
- 45:51Speaker 1: I can't figure out if it was. So when you're
- 45:54Speaker 1: fucking five chicks, it's a lot of work. Obviously the
- 45:58Speaker 1: girl's got to be handling each other as well. There's
- 46:01Speaker 1: only so much not fun all the way, I was
- 46:03Speaker 1: gonna say, like it almost feels like more work than
- 46:06Speaker 1: it is it. What's it worth? Is it fun? I
- 46:09Speaker 1: guess is my question? Or is it kind of like
- 46:13Speaker 1: a lot of that ship is like your ego, your
- 46:15Speaker 1: appet site, your mind. You have to look at food
- 46:17Speaker 1: and be like, yo, I want that, and your eyes
- 46:21Speaker 1: is doing more than with your stomach and hole every day.
- 46:24Speaker 1: So it's kind of like, you know, the thought and
- 46:29Speaker 1: idea of having all these women and one time sounds amazing,
- 46:33Speaker 1: sounds crazy. It's just it's just wild, you know, And
- 46:39Speaker 1: so I mean it works, it made it work. It works, Yeah, happens.
- 46:44Speaker 1: But all that's just you know, that's Alisia. Do you
- 46:51Speaker 1: make sure the girls know each other first? Like? Are
- 46:53Speaker 1: they all homies? This doesn't happen all the time. I
- 46:57Speaker 1: don't want you to the one time it did happen.
- 46:59Speaker 1: Give me this. Are you convinced six chicks to fuck
- 47:02Speaker 1: you at the same time? Yeah? They? Uh damn. I'm
- 47:06Speaker 1: trying to think it was if it was five or
- 47:08Speaker 1: six you got that one chick who like wrangles them
- 47:10Speaker 1: all up. Let's just say it was five, Okay, five
- 47:14Speaker 1: I was I was out. I had a girl that
- 47:19Speaker 1: used to like to have girls around all the time.
- 47:23Speaker 1: She has some girls, and it was just one girl
- 47:26Speaker 1: that we didn't know and I want to say, yeah,
- 47:31Speaker 1: it was one girl that we didn't know and then
- 47:33Speaker 1: we bought her around and yeah, I mean girl. See,
- 47:35Speaker 1: the thing about women is that they click easier than men.
- 47:39Speaker 1: This is true, you know, especially girls who are kind
- 47:41Speaker 1: of like right, they friendly each other, they really buy curious, right,
- 47:47Speaker 1: so they click quicker than niggas do. Like you or
- 47:51Speaker 1: you need this alcohol, some hookah, some hookah. Yeah, and
- 47:55Speaker 1: they clicking some booze and some hookah, woves and hooker.
- 48:01Speaker 1: That's it. From there, it's off to the races. Hey,
- 48:04Speaker 1: how you man over there? Yeah? I know, Oh you know,
- 48:07Speaker 1: what's the name? Oh? What's your page? They following each
- 48:11Speaker 1: other and then turn around and kissing. Wow, this is yeah,
- 48:15Speaker 1: it's amazing is life? You know. I'm just trying to
- 48:20Speaker 1: think how like physically like that would work. That's like
- 48:23Speaker 1: an orgy low keys, like pretty much what it is
- 48:26Speaker 1: some real pharaoh shit though my kingship. It doesn't happen
- 48:30Speaker 1: every day. That's not regular. Once a lifetime. I mean
- 48:33Speaker 1: like two is once a lifetime is solid. Two is regular.
- 48:36Speaker 1: Two is regular for you. It's for anybody, how many
- 48:40Speaker 1: I don't know about for anybody? Two is regular for
- 48:42Speaker 1: any that's really regular. Girls, give me the over under
- 48:45Speaker 1: on how many threesomes you think you've had in your
- 48:47Speaker 1: entire life? That's what's that number? That's north of fifty,
- 48:52Speaker 1: under fifty. Definitely more than fifty. You've had more than
- 48:57Speaker 1: fifty threesomes? Of course, that's not that's that's pretty regular. Like,
- 49:01Speaker 1: that's pretty standard, standardard standard, Maino. Shit, that's no, it's
- 49:06Speaker 1: not about me. It's about you. No, it's not about me.
- 49:08Speaker 1: That's not standard. You're serious. Yeah, bugget your bugget no,
- 49:14Speaker 1: your bugget no, your bucket. That's a standardifty. I've had
- 49:18Speaker 1: a handful of those situations. What's a handful? Less than ten? Okay,
- 49:25Speaker 1: more than five, less than ten, somewhere in that range.
- 49:27Speaker 1: Now you're north fifty standard, brother, Like, that's I mean,
- 49:31Speaker 1: we're talking about we're talking. We're talking about uh time. Okay,
- 49:39Speaker 1: so okay, okay, listen to the maut here. So if
- 49:41Speaker 1: you've had more than fifty threesomes on the low end,
- 49:47Speaker 1: that's a hundred chicks are we knocking on? Are you
- 49:52Speaker 1: Maino Chamberlain? Damn? I can't what you know up north
- 49:56Speaker 1: of a thousand chicks in your life. I won't say
- 50:00Speaker 1: that would you say more or less than a thousand.
- 50:02Speaker 1: I'm not gonna say anything. Listen. What I'm gonna say
- 50:05Speaker 1: is this. I mean, you already put a number of
- 50:06Speaker 1: the threesomes. It's fifty a lot of threesomes. It's just
- 50:13Speaker 1: had it happened fifty times. This is what you're saying.
- 50:17Speaker 1: You have fifty different threesomes. But this that's the amount
- 50:20Speaker 1: of time. That's maybe some girls might be the same,
- 50:23Speaker 1: some cast members in these states consisted, right, Okay, right, okay,
- 50:28Speaker 1: that's what I'm saying, right exactly. So here's the thing
- 50:35Speaker 1: that's in a like fifteen how long I've been home?
- 50:39Speaker 1: What year did you come home? Two thousand and three,
- 50:42Speaker 1: So that's nineteen years ago. That's crazy case. So this
- 50:45Speaker 1: isn't an expanse of nineteen years. So is that that many?
- 50:49Speaker 1: Is that's not that much? I mean, I'm thirty five,
- 50:52Speaker 1: and it's not that much. Listen, I respect it. It's
- 50:55Speaker 1: not a it's not a it's not a big thing
- 50:57Speaker 1: when you because because like I feel like we do
- 50:59Speaker 1: kind of know mano to always have a bad chick around.
- 51:03Speaker 1: Is it kind of funny to be like, when you're
- 51:06Speaker 1: dealing with that many women and you are Mano, you
- 51:09Speaker 1: have to be Eskimo brothers with a lot of other rappers.
- 51:12Speaker 1: What does that mean? That means you guys both sucked
- 51:14Speaker 1: the same chick for certainly for certain right, Like, has
- 51:18Speaker 1: that ever happened where you may be like we're fucking
- 51:21Speaker 1: around with because I know I have another good friend
- 51:24Speaker 1: of mine who's kind of similar to you in terms
- 51:27Speaker 1: of just always with a and he he's like had
- 51:30Speaker 1: like beefs with NBA players like other rappers. Like, is
- 51:34Speaker 1: that something that's happened with you? Yeah, especially see the
- 51:37Speaker 1: rappers is a little more cool about it. It's the
- 51:40Speaker 1: ball players. They really get in their feelings all the time.
- 51:42Speaker 1: Married ask ball players all the time like listen, I
- 51:46Speaker 1: don't not even just married anything like with a ballplayer
- 51:51Speaker 1: they get they get a little bit crazy about it,
- 51:53Speaker 1: like it's I heard James Harden's like that. I don't know.
- 51:56Speaker 1: I never uh you never smashed one of his chicks,
- 51:59Speaker 1: I mean not that, not that I know of. No,
- 52:02Speaker 1: maybe so you had a did you have a problem
- 52:04Speaker 1: with a specific player ever, like where it was like no,
- 52:09Speaker 1: but I think a specific player had a problem with me, right, Yeah,
- 52:17Speaker 1: he's a funny guy. Give me the team of the
- 52:21Speaker 1: year and give me one guess. Yeah, I can't give
- 52:26Speaker 1: you the team man like, but I tell you what.
- 52:28Speaker 1: I tell you what though, like I think that they
- 52:31Speaker 1: was feeling some kind of way about me. Though the
- 52:33Speaker 1: girl was telling me she was like, oh yo, this
- 52:35Speaker 1: nigga said that. You know, you don't speak to him
- 52:37Speaker 1: when you see him. I'm like, I ain't even see
- 52:38Speaker 1: that nigga. Matter of fact, I don't even know what
- 52:41Speaker 1: that nigga look like. Yeah, I just know the name
- 52:43Speaker 1: because he's tall. It's so funny because that is such
- 52:50Speaker 1: a real thing. There's like I got homies in the NBA,
- 52:53Speaker 1: and they got real issues with other players, and it's
- 52:56Speaker 1: always over girls that everyone fucks. It's always over and
- 53:01Speaker 1: it's and a lot of times I got a homie
- 53:05Speaker 1: who has problems with another player and that player is
- 53:09Speaker 1: married with kids and it's mad that his side chick is.
- 53:12Speaker 1: I'm like, you got bro, Like, what the fuck is? Yeah? Yeah, yeah,
- 53:17Speaker 1: that's that's that's interesting. They don't I don't know this.
- 53:20Speaker 1: It's different. I never had a problem with an artist though,
- 53:26Speaker 1: I never I never had a problem with rapper. That's
- 53:28Speaker 1: that's I think most of the time, artists kind of
- 53:30Speaker 1: know what it is, right, It's like, look but yeah, bro,
- 53:32Speaker 1: like you know I'm trying to Yeah. I mean it's
- 53:38Speaker 1: funny that when you when you when you when you
- 53:41Speaker 1: when you might be dealing with a chicken, and you
- 53:43Speaker 1: you run across the texts and you see all and
- 53:46Speaker 1: you see who be texting like, oh wow this is interesting.
- 53:50Speaker 1: Wow damn you got a lot of blue checks in
- 53:52Speaker 1: your dms there. So this nigga be begging wow crazy.
- 53:57Speaker 1: I know I probably got caught like that plenty of times.
- 53:59Speaker 1: I know somebody rolled over and said, oh, let me see, man,
- 54:03Speaker 1: look at this nigga nasty like mano does not give
- 54:10Speaker 1: a fuck. And I love it, man, I love it.
- 54:14Speaker 1: You know. Another trend that happened during the pandemic was
- 54:16Speaker 1: a lot of artists. Tiger launched an only fans only. Uh,
- 54:21Speaker 1: what's the ruby? Rose launched an only fan Tiger was
- 54:24Speaker 1: fucking on his ship though, Yeah, uh was that something
- 54:28Speaker 1: that ever came across your mind. I don't got that heart.
- 54:31Speaker 1: I don't got the heart to do that. And he
- 54:34Speaker 1: don't give a fuck. That's obviously when you don't listen.
- 54:37Speaker 1: He publicly dated a seventeen year old or she was
- 54:39Speaker 1: sixteen when they were dating. Yeah, he definitely don't give
- 54:42Speaker 1: a tiger, don't care. Yeah, people like that. Though. A
- 54:47Speaker 1: part of me admired him because I was like, you,
- 54:51Speaker 1: you so free in your mind. Yeah, that's a different
- 54:54Speaker 1: type of freedom. You gotta be free. You got a
- 54:57Speaker 1: zero shame, right, that's a that's admirable. And now I'm
- 55:01Speaker 1: not saying, go fucking dated seventeen year old, But I'm
- 55:03Speaker 1: just saying the fact that you could be up there
- 55:05Speaker 1: fucking on video on video and then and you have
- 55:08Speaker 1: a single on the radio right now, and yeah, it's crazy,
- 55:11Speaker 1: like you cannot Yeah, that's different. And he always be
- 55:13Speaker 1: getting repolled and shit like that, and he just never
- 55:15Speaker 1: ever seem like he gave give a fuck. That's no
- 55:19Speaker 1: what I'm saying, Like, No, I'm just saying, right, I
- 55:24Speaker 1: think that's how right this happened, whatever, I mean, whatever
- 55:27Speaker 1: he was going through. What I liked about people like
- 55:31Speaker 1: him is that it just never seemed phased. I like that.
- 55:35Speaker 1: That's admirable. Do you feel like because I do feel
- 55:39Speaker 1: like there was a in hip hop A dark age
- 55:43Speaker 1: of twenty seventeen twenty eighteen is when I think shit
- 55:46Speaker 1: got goofy for a while, SoundCloud, the ex the Takashi shit, Like,
- 55:53Speaker 1: I just feel like it was a real goofy era
- 55:54Speaker 1: of shitty rapp popping where it's more about antics, more
- 55:57Speaker 1: about Instagram bullshit than it was about the actual music.
- 56:01Speaker 1: I feel like we've kind of gotten through that. It's
- 56:04Speaker 1: back to rapping everybody's back. It feels good. I feel
- 56:08Speaker 1: like the pandemic helped a bit. But what's how difficult
- 56:13Speaker 1: was it for you to kind of be who you are?
- 56:17Speaker 1: And like, you know, at the time, you know, you
- 56:20Speaker 1: think of like who was like screaming they were the
- 56:22Speaker 1: king of New York. It was this guy with rainbow
- 56:23Speaker 1: hair and not even even get into his specific situation,
- 56:26Speaker 1: but like just being Mano and like watching where the
- 56:28Speaker 1: music industry went and how it kind of went so
- 56:31Speaker 1: far away from authenticity and kind of what you bring
- 56:33Speaker 1: to the table. Was like, what was it like to
- 56:35Speaker 1: do with that? But this is this is why I'm
- 56:37Speaker 1: still here. It's because I was able to still be
- 56:39Speaker 1: myself no matter what you understand, I was still able
- 56:44Speaker 1: to withstand some of some of the things that was
- 56:46Speaker 1: going on because you got to understand and know that
- 56:49Speaker 1: some of the ship that be happening is just it's
- 56:50Speaker 1: just it's a date on it. It's just it's just
- 56:53Speaker 1: a faed It's just this despiration date on so much
- 56:56Speaker 1: of this ship, right, So I kind of always know that,
- 57:00Speaker 1: like this ship is not forever, you know what I
- 57:02Speaker 1: mean This some of the ship is gonna is gonna
- 57:04Speaker 1: gonna gonna blow by, and we were gonna we're gonna
- 57:08Speaker 1: be like, oh remember what it's gonna get to that.
- 57:11Speaker 1: So the only thing I could say for me and
- 57:16Speaker 1: to keep me away from being frustrated or angry with
- 57:18Speaker 1: the industry because not things not going away I would
- 57:21Speaker 1: want them to go is just you know, like you're
- 57:25Speaker 1: in a boxing ring, stay focused on what's in front
- 57:27Speaker 1: of you, you understand, Stay focused on your opponent. I
- 57:31Speaker 1: don't be looking at other niggas. I don't really be
- 57:35Speaker 1: not in the competition with with nobody. The only person
- 57:37Speaker 1: I'm in competition with is the person in the mirror,
- 57:40Speaker 1: you understand. So he's the person that I gotta deal
- 57:43Speaker 1: with because at the end of the day, who am
- 57:45Speaker 1: I battling? I got to battle my own demons in
- 57:47Speaker 1: the dog at night, I gotta battle. It's me versus me,
- 57:51Speaker 1: you understand like it ain't nothing else. I'm my only opponent.
- 57:55Speaker 1: I just told that to my boy. I was telling
- 57:56Speaker 1: him like, because you know, I have a friend who
- 58:00Speaker 1: always just bringing up what other people in his similar
- 58:03Speaker 1: space are doing. Can't do that. That'll that'll fuck you around,
- 58:07Speaker 1: it'll fuck you up. And I think when I was
- 58:10Speaker 1: super young, I would really like feel like I should
- 58:12Speaker 1: have I should be doing, like I'm better than what
- 58:15Speaker 1: this guy's doing in my you know, radio ship. But
- 58:18Speaker 1: like you know, like once you start, once you get
- 58:20Speaker 1: rid of that mentality, right, that a way, yo, it
- 58:24Speaker 1: literally will change your life, right if you just worry
- 58:26Speaker 1: about what is it? Like you said, well you can control, right,
- 58:29Speaker 1: I control what I can control and everything else. What's
- 58:32Speaker 1: going on over here with this person they got shit
- 58:34Speaker 1: to do with me. Good for them. I'm happy for him.
- 58:36Speaker 1: I walking the club and the new hot niggas dead
- 58:39Speaker 1: and they're like, oh my god, man, I'm like, all right, cool,
- 58:42Speaker 1: fuck it. I'm right here too though, in that pocket watch.
- 58:44Speaker 1: And should I have you fucked up? Man? You worried
- 58:46Speaker 1: about what other niggas is doing, how much other niggas
- 58:49Speaker 1: is making. When niggas came out because I would. I
- 58:51Speaker 1: had to. We all full victims some of these things sometimes, right, Yeah,
- 58:56Speaker 1: it's not. It's about staying there, right, because I had
- 58:59Speaker 1: like and this nigga came after me. He used to
- 59:02Speaker 1: just man, this nigga used to want to be next
- 59:05Speaker 1: to me. Now he up here. You understand how to
- 59:08Speaker 1: fuck this nigga get past me. I had to get
- 59:12Speaker 1: out of that because the more I thought about that,
- 59:15Speaker 1: the more frustrated I became. And when I became frustrated,
- 59:19Speaker 1: I became insecure. So when you're insecure, you can't you
- 59:24Speaker 1: can't move, you can't you can't produce. You don't know
- 59:27Speaker 1: what to do. You don't know how to make music.
- 59:28Speaker 1: You don't know how to talk, you don't know how
- 59:30Speaker 1: to speak, you don't know how you're not confident. Once
- 59:34Speaker 1: you lose your confidence, you you lose everything like this
- 59:37Speaker 1: not even like you just a fucked up nigga. So
- 59:40Speaker 1: so you can't be caught up in the ship that
- 59:47Speaker 1: you can't control. I'm in my car, right, and if
- 59:52Speaker 1: I'm in my car, I'm in my lane. Right. I
- 59:55Speaker 1: can't be driving my car and looking in the lane
- 59:58Speaker 1: next to me because what I'm gonna crash. That's some
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: real shit. I think it's almost like some grown man
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: shit though. To get there, you gotta fuck niggas stink.
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: My odds is on the road like shit. Man. Sometimes
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: I think, damn, I wish I had my where my
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: head is right now ten years ago. Yeah, but you
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: know what, we developed the way we listen. But here's
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: the thing. If you sometimes you know you gotta go
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: through that to get to where you're at today. So
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: it's like, that's right, It's okay, it's the journey. And
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: it's no better time than the present time. So you
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: know your car's moving though, right it may not be
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: going as fast as this one of that one, but
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: it's moving. And in life, were always in the same place, right,
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: We're always in the same place. This is the place
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: that we're in In life, we always in the middle.
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: And what I mean by that is this, there's always
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: people that's doing better than you, and always people that
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: you're doing better than. Always it's like you always, no
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: matter what, no matter what. Yeah, you gotta one hundred million,
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: is somebody with two hundred million, you understand, you got
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: three hundred million, it's somebody with a billion. So I mean,
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: what's up, yo, We got to stop the interview real quick.
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: Shout out to our presenting sponsor, odds Socks. Baby, hey man, listen,
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: all I keep on my ass is odd Socks Draws.

- 1:01:15Speaker 1: why because they are the most comfortable socks in the world.
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: And I'm not just saying this because they promote the podcast.
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: I'm telling you the socks are crazy. Uh. They got
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: all the licenses. Look, they got Halloween socks, they have
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: Back to the Future socks. They got fucking Twizzler socks,
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: old dirty bastard socks, rip to ODB all right. They
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: also got their draws if you want to wear some
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: underwear with pizza on them, whatever you need. But my
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: favorite are the odd socks are basics, Baby, These are
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: just the plain boys. These, to me are the most

- 1:02:20Speaker 1: to odds soxofficial dot com save twenty percent off using
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: that promo code bootleg keV. Let's get back to the
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: interview for you kind of being like a personality. I mean,
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: you've always been a personality. I've always loved when you
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: would go on your rants from the car on Instagram.
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: I mean, but just in terms of like really being
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: you know, you have a podcast as successful. Now, how
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: different does that have you approaching the entertainment industry because
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: you're kind of on the other side of it as
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: well as still doing the artist shit. But I feel
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: like now like there might be people who have never
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: heard your music who might come up to you now
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: and be like, I love what I love your this
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: episode of your podcast. It's a different thing. That's the
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: great thing about the time when is that you don't
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: it's not just about the music, It's about a brand.
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: So now that you know, I don't have to just
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: focus solely on music. I can focus on all the
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: other things that I got going on. Right, So we
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: talked about fit lit, we talked about lobby boys, we
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: talked about you know, kitchen talk. These are different components.
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: You know, it's so many things that we can do
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: at the same time. You know, it's different components. Right.
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: So the fact that I could, you know, I could,
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: I could come out here, you know, I could just
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: you know, jump on this show with Macy yesterday and
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: performing live in front of NBC and turn around and
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: promote my podcast the next day. You did the record
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: with Macy yesterday, Well, we performed it yesterday on the
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: show that she got, Well, we performed the live on NBC.
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: The biggest look I've asked, I saw you never never
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: did nothing like that, you know, on on on that
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: type of stage. So that was a big look for me.
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: You know, the fact that I could do that and
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: still turn around and push the podcast, go to the gym,
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: do that, do all the other ship I got going on.
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: This is the greatest time. Man, It's the best we're
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: talking about. I Mean, look, we think of someone like
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: your biggest records t Pain. What is Pain doing everything
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: he wants to do? This is what I'm saying. This
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: motherfucker's hosting television shows. There you go, his Twitch is popping,
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: his podcast, and he's still dropping crazy music. It's about
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: a brand. You don't got to ever leave the music.
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: It's not sports. I just like the fact that the
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: stigma of like artists doing other ship right, because you know,
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: we used to think like, well, if you have a podcast,
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: you're washed, or if you're doing reality TV. But I
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: feel like nowadays, this is what we're doing, right. I
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: think people kind of got out of that. That's a
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: good hundred. I think that thought about old well, this
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: nigga washed up. That's why he's doing that old music.
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: And you still got ignorant, ignorant people that are but
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: the general publish people are trying to recoup still record
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: deals that they signed. The general the general public, I
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: think that they kind of understand that so to speak,
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: because we we've watched so many artists do so many
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: different things. You know, we watch how Mary is on
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: a hit television show and then the super music and
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: then put an album out right and still doing she
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: did the Super Bowl so you can do different various
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: different things. And and here's the thing. The whole uh,
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: the whole conversation about who's relevant and what's relevant is
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: being changed every day. You understand, like, you know, when
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: you got artists like a Jim Jones still was able
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: to push out a hit. Right now, you understand music
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: is relative, man, you know what I mean. So it's like, say, who,
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: this guy's not relevant, Well, he's relevant to the people
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: that love him. Yeah, his fan base. There you go.
- 1:06:11Speaker 1: Now that might be it might not be the little
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: baby fan base, but that's cool. That's okay, that's ok
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: You know what, well, you know what too is different
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: now is your independence is now. I feel like more
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: artists understand how important it is. That's where maybe, like
- 1:06:32Speaker 1: ten or fifteen years ago, you cool off. You're still
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: tied to this shitty major label and they're not gonna
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: let you drop whenever you want, as opposed to now.
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: If you're if you're Jim and you you yeah, Jim
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: has been to me relevant for I never stopped being relevant,
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: and I feel like he's put out some of the
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: best projects of the last I mean the last few years.
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: I mean, we could you know, uh. And I feel
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: like if maybe Jim was on like fucking Deft Jam
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: or something or Atlantic or something like, it might have
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: been like you knows, he's in a situation where I
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: want to go do a full project with Harry Froud
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: and the people who are gonna appreciate it are gonna
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: appreciate right. And that's and that's what I had to
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: get into my mind, understanding that appeal to the people
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: that love you. Yeah, now through social media, that's gonna
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: help you gain new fans every day. For it may
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: not be from the music, maybe from the way I
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: talk or the podcast. So it's it's a great time
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: and it's just poling from all these from all different areas. Man.
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: And then you got you know, Jim just put out
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: We Set the trans which is on radio. What I'm
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: talking about, how this late in the game, still still
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: putting out hits bad Joe, fad Joe. And trust me,
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: I'm about to be about to hurt something everybody like
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: Like like I was telling you, Man, I just would
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: love to see you run up that. Just run it up, man, Matt.
- 1:07:56Speaker 1: When you say you got three projects ready to go,
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: it's good to hear. No we're gonna run up. I
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: had to really understand that. But I had to really regroup.
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: Sometimes you gotta sometimes you gotta reset, man, You gotta
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: reset in order to to really compete the way you
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: want to observe observed, right, and then you gotta get busy.
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: So now I'm now I'm in it. I'm in a
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: I'm in a different space, and people can see the difference.
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: You're in to get busy space? Who for you? Like?
- 1:08:26Speaker 1: Who are the younger artists that you actually listen to
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: and appreciate? Man? All of them? Like? Who's like if
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: I checked your Spotify, who's the most? Who you've bumping
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: the most? That's that's not you know of your era
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: or later? I mean, ship man, what's my era? Right?
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: What would you consider my era is people who've come out?
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: How about in the last five I've been bumping dirt
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: all week, Dirk, Okay, right, but dirt been around, has
- 1:08:54Speaker 1: been around it. You know what I'm saying. People forget
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: dirt been around a minute. That's what I'm saying. I've
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: been bumping dirt. I love Baby, No, Baby's amazing. All
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: of the young niggas from New York definitely all the
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: Young Niggas from New York. FAO is on fire. Yeah
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: five yeos is my guys, like this is that's really
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: uh my god, I think it. It's it's crazy, but
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: it's also dope. That like it really took that Kanye
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: verse people to realize how dope of a rapper he was,
- 1:09:23Speaker 1: because I feel like people who knew knew like people
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: a long time that he really could rap right And
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: I don't And and I tell him that, like he
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: don't know. He don't sound like nobody else. He's crazy.
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: He has his own style and and it's really dope,
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: and people really gonna see The record that we have
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: with him is a smash. Yeah, that's a smash. This
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: is what i'milling. Listen to what I'm telling you on
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: your album on the Lobby Boys project, it's a smash.
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: Listen to what I'm telling video done, record is done
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: is coming? How are you guys dropping the Lobby Boy's project.
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: So we did a deal with one off PM. One
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: r PM they distributed a couple of my boys. So
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: we did a deal with them, and we got a
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: lot of dope features on them. Man, Like I told you,
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: we got a five year old on there, fab On there, Grisel,
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: dere uh young and may on I'm dropping on April
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: was coming soon and yeah and then and then on
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: April twenty knfe is the day we got Yeah, why
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: did you never go anywhere like like like really like
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: dive into acting because I feel like you could kill it.
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: I mean people ask me that I do do roles
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: when I when I catch it right, So whenever I
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: catch a role, I come, I come to l A.
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: I feel like you never really dived in. I didn't
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: because when I started to see that, to me, it
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: was a more of a struggle than the music. I
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: mean a lot of a lot of these young a
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: lot of these young actors are not really getting paid. Well.
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: You got a leg up on them though, because your
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: may now don't mean nothing in it in that world.
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: So that's the thing people think that it does. It does.
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: There's got to be a recurring wrong power get you.
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: It gets you, It gets you in the door. But
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: it's not a lot. It's not. When I saw that,
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: I came out to LA and I had some active
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: friends and I've seen that they it really wasn't what
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: I thought it was. It made me feel like I
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: didn't want to pursue it as hard. So what I
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: want to always be involved with the producing things. So
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: if I'm going to act in it, you know, hopefully
- 1:11:31Speaker 1: I'm involved with it with the creative because that's where
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: the meat and potatoes is at. So I got things
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: that I created myself that I'm trying to find homes
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: for that I'm trying to find places to put out.
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: So the thing about just chasing that, because that's a
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: whole different grind. You know, you might go on fucking
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: one hundred, you know, this is what I'm saying, And
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: it takes a lot of times. So when you shoot
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: in one movie, that's that takes. I was out here
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: at last April shooting the movie and for like two
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: weeks every day. I like it. But I got a
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: lot of respect for the ones that that's what they
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: do right, And it's just not my grind. Right because
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: the actor told me, told me, actor friend of mine
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: told me, as soon as they yell cut on that movie,
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: I'm unemployed. Yeah, and then I gotta keep the next thing,
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: you understand, So because yeah, because like not most actors,
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: ninety nine point nine percent of actors who are in
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: shit don't get residual income off of That's what I'm saying.
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: Like there's not a star neither true. So you might
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: see such such in this movie, such and such this movie.
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: We not really doing that well in life, you understand.
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: So you know you just hired you just hired help.
- 1:12:56Speaker 1: You prefer to be behind the scenes, fucking right. You
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: know what's crazy is I do think that what's missing
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: from TV right now. When I was growing up, we
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: had OZ. Then there was the show Prison Break. There's
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: not a good fucking prison show right now. This guy
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: wants the worst prison Did you watch OZ? Of course
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: I did. Was fucking crazy. I just had Leon on
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: my show. He was in and Prison Break was souper.
- 1:13:19Speaker 1: I mean for treble. I never watched Prison two seasons.
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: Am I missing the show? I never watched Prison. Oh,
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: I've heard about Mayor of Kingstown with Jeremy Renner. I've
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: heard about that paramount plus that's that's as a prison joint.
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: I heard it's good the Mayor of Kingstown. It's got
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: Hawkeye from the main I know where that is. Shout
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: out to Jeremy Renner that it's fire. The same guys
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: who do Yellowstone. I didn't watch them. Yellowstone is good
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: to fire watching some gangster cowboys ship. Yeah yeah, Yellowstone
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: is like the Wire but like in Montana, the ran
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: thug down ship. Bro. Yeah, I know German Runner. I
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: remember when he was in the town, the town with
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: Slaine Slaine was in the town. Yeah, shout out to
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: Slaine Man Slain Slain. The white boy, that chevy whit
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: dude who also was rapping. He was just putting it
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: out a static selector. He's like in the movie. Yeah,
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: I remember. In fact, he's a rae. He was a
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: rapper first Wow slang. Yeah from Boston. Shout out to Boston.
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: The town was fire, Yeah, shouts. That might be Ben
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: Affleck's best movie. Is it his best movie? Or the
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: other one was the other one with him and Matt
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: Damon That won't all the awards with Robin Williams, the
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: first one that pop them off. You've never seen it.
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: I don't even know what the fuck it's called. All
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: I know is he just bought an eighty million dollar
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: house with j Lo. So Ben Affleck is winning, you
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. Well, listen, bro uh. Lobby Boys
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: in April, Lobby Boys in April kitchen Salt. Everything's happening, man.
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: How often do you put out episodes of Kitchen Talk
- 1:14:58Speaker 1: every week? So once a week and once week sometimes
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: I miss, We might miss a week. You know, I
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: was gonna say, like, sometimes is it like yo, this
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: week is lit? And and I know what I like
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: about your podcast is it is not necessarily a guest
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: based show, right sometimes you know, but we we have
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: more guests now because people just like to see other
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: people all. But sometimes we do two episodes a day
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: like so some sometimes I might have two different guests
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: on one day and then you'll spread those out, yes,
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: put them out. You know. Sometimes I might I've done
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: three episodes in one week to have them come out
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: like that, So I just have them like that. But
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: the consistency is what is? What is? What is? You know?
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: With people? It's important. Yeah, it's very important. So you know,
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: I got an episode coming out Thursday. Who helps you
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: with because what's important is like getting those social media
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: clips from the podcast together? You got you got that
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: team that just handles all me. I got a whole team,
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: the whole squad, a whole producers, videos, the whole scene.
- 1:16:03Speaker 1: I got people that helped me with the guests. I
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: got you know, people that shoot. I got edited, I
- 1:16:09Speaker 1: got a sound person, I got the whole team. Graph
- 1:16:13Speaker 1: fix everything. We'll listen, go support. Yeah, I know you
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: got other ship coming that you probably can't talk about it.
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: You talked a little bit about it off camera. Little
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: TV show situation coming maybe with the homies. Yeah, we'll see, Yeah,
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: we'll see, you know, shout out the fit lit lyoys.
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: You already know, man, there it is badly may know. Yeah,
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: boom
