- 0:12Today is National Underdog Day, celebrating everyone who's been
- 0:16counted out, overlooked, underestimated.
- 0:19Everyone loves to root for the underdog in the movies and in
- 0:23real life. It can be fun to be the underdog
- 0:26when you know that you have a chance to win.
- 0:29And that brings us to today's quote from Malcolm Gladwell, who
- 0:33once wrote the fact of being an underdog changes people in ways
- 0:37that we often fail to appreciate.
- 0:40It opens doors and creates opportunities and enlightens and
- 0:43permits things that might otherwise have seemed
- 0:47unthinkable. Gladwell's right?
- 0:51Being the underdog isn't just disadvantage, it's
- 0:54transformation. When no one expects you to win,
- 0:59you're free to try everything. Nothing to lose, everything to
- 1:03gain. Underdogs see opportunities
- 1:06others miss. They work angles that the
- 1:09favorites ignore. Being underestimated opens doors
- 1:13that confidence keeps closed. So today, embrace your underdog
- 1:18status, whatever that is, wherever you're counted out, use
- 1:24it. Let it change you.
- 1:26Let it open doors, Let it permit the unthinkable.
- 1:32Because Gladwell's right Underdogs have advantages
- 1:35favorites never see. That's going to do it For today.
