- 0:11Speaker 1: Welcome to Girls Gone Homework, a Hallmark review podcast. I'm Megan,
- 0:13Speaker 1: and I'm a longtime Hallmark fan. I'm Wendy, I'm a
- 0:16Speaker 1: former Hallmark hater. And yeah, I said, this is a
- 0:19Speaker 1: Hallmark review podcast, but we're taking a little mini detour
- 0:23Speaker 1: over to Lifetime today because we are going to be
- 0:26Speaker 1: discussing when I said I Do, which originally aired on
- 0:30Speaker 1: Lifetime on Saturday, May twenty third, and I checked, it's
- 0:33Speaker 1: now streaming on Mylifetime dot com and I didn't have
- 0:37Speaker 1: to sign in or anything to watch it there. Oh
- 0:39Speaker 1: that's great. Yeah, I don't know if that's maybe it
- 0:43Speaker 1: streams there for a limited time. I'm not fully familiar
- 0:45Speaker 1: with the Lifetime streaming availability. If you like what we
- 0:49Speaker 1: do here over on Girls Gone Hallmark, we invite you
- 0:52Speaker 1: to check out our Instagram, which is Girls Gone Hallmark,
- 0:56Speaker 1: where we post our weekly schedule of what we're going
- 0:59Speaker 1: to be reviewed, so if you so choose, you can
- 1:01Speaker 1: watch along with us. Yeah, you probably saw that this
- 1:05Speaker 1: was This review was supposed to drop earlier in the week,
- 1:09Speaker 1: but apologies. Life happens, y'all. I'm hanging by a threat
- 1:16Speaker 1: right now, but I have a feeling I have a
- 1:18Speaker 1: feeling things are gonna, you know, get better in the
- 1:21Speaker 1: next two weeks, week and a half. I think so too.
- 1:25Speaker 1: It's five days. It's fine. Nobody is living or dying
- 1:28Speaker 1: on the availability of a podcast movie review, have it well?
- 1:32Speaker 1: I hope so. And I like to tell myself that,
- 1:34Speaker 1: And I know I tell you that too every once
- 1:36Speaker 1: in a while. But you put a little guilt on yourself. Yeah,
- 1:40Speaker 1: I just you know, we have such loyal listeners, and
- 1:43Speaker 1: I don't want to disappoint anybody. So someone did ask.
- 1:47Speaker 1: They commented, They said it wasn't in my feed, and
- 1:50Speaker 1: I said, it's coming tomorrow, I promise. So thank you
- 1:53Speaker 1: for checking in. That's so nice that you're paying such
- 1:55Speaker 1: close attention. It's coming. You're gonna have a little Saturday bonus. Yay, yay.
- 2:02Speaker 1: Are you ready for synopsis? I am widowed K nine Handler.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Those are hard words to say altogether. First of all, anyway,
- 2:12Speaker 1: Ali rebuilt her life after her husband died on duty.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Devoted to her family and career, She's hesitant to love
- 2:20Speaker 1: again until meeting rescue specialist Sean, who has his own
- 2:24Speaker 1: painful past. Deaf and Brogren directed when I said I'd
- 2:30Speaker 1: his twenty fourth directing credit, and he previously helmed Hallmarks
- 2:33Speaker 1: Welcome to Valentine in twenty twenty three. This script was
- 2:37Speaker 1: written by Bart Barker, marking his twenty first writing credit.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Hey do you know this person? No relation? It's my
- 2:47Speaker 1: maiden name, folks. Sarah Drew stars as Ali. Fans will
- 2:50Speaker 1: recognize her from favorites like Guiding Emily, Branching Out and
- 2:53Speaker 1: Mistletoe Murders. Eric Johnson co stars as Sean. He's appeared
- 2:57Speaker 1: in the Hallmark movie Valentine ever After in twenty sixteen.
- 3:01Speaker 1: You know it just cursed me that Eric Johnson is
- 3:03Speaker 1: the name of Jessica Simpson's ex husband. Yes, no relation,
- 3:07Speaker 1: I'll s there merry. Clint and Lisa Black serve as
- 3:09Speaker 1: executive producers on the film. The script was reportedly inspired
- 3:12Speaker 1: by their hit song from nineteen ninety nine, when I
- 3:16Speaker 1: Say I Do I Have I know I added it here,
- 3:20Speaker 1: but can we get into some Clint and Lisa Black
- 3:23Speaker 1: fun facts please? You know I saw Clint Black in
- 3:26Speaker 1: concert at what was then the Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim
- 3:30Speaker 1: in the nineties. Was he fantastic fan freak fantastic? This
- 3:35Speaker 1: song when I Say I Do was his thirteenth and
- 3:40Speaker 1: this is what this is what the Internet tells me,
- 3:42Speaker 1: his final Billboard Country number one single, Like, he hasn't
- 3:48Speaker 1: had a number one country single since nineteen ninety nine,
- 3:52Speaker 1: but he was kind of a man of the nineties.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Thirteen number one's is a lot. I agree, But is
- 3:57Speaker 1: he not making music anymore? I don't listen the country music,
- 4:00Speaker 1: so I don't really know. I don't think he's putting
- 4:03Speaker 1: out new music. No made movie. They made a movie
- 4:06Speaker 1: about a twenty seven year old song, Fair, Fair Fair,
- 4:11Speaker 1: A great song, by the way, a great song and
- 4:14Speaker 1: one like I knew, like all the lyrics totally. As
- 4:18Speaker 1: soon as they started playing it, I belted it out. Yeah.
- 4:21Speaker 1: I've been singing it for days because two my dogs
- 4:24Speaker 1: really appreciated it. God and my family's like shut up ready,
- 4:29Speaker 1: he he. I was gonna say, CO sang the song.
- 4:33Speaker 1: That's not the word, is it? CO performed? He duetted, duetted,
- 4:38Speaker 1: that's the word with his wife, Lisa Hartman Black. She
- 4:42Speaker 1: was a recording artist as well, but this was her
- 4:44Speaker 1: one and only number one song. This song did win
- 4:48Speaker 1: an Academy of Country Music Award award and had a
- 4:53Speaker 1: Grammy nomination, and Clinton wrote the song about his wife
- 4:58Speaker 1: eight years after they'd been married. Oh that's so nice.
- 5:02Speaker 1: I know she still loves her. I love it. I
- 5:05Speaker 1: love it. Hey, Wendy, what was your first impression of
- 5:07Speaker 1: when I said I do. I felt a little bit
- 5:10Speaker 1: duped because Lifetime has trained me to expect felonies and
- 5:14Speaker 1: not romance, so that's what I thought we were getting here.
- 5:21Speaker 1: I was under no such pretenses. And my first impression is,
- 5:24Speaker 1: no one does an emotional breakdown like Sarah Drew. I
- 5:27Speaker 1: have some thoughts about it. Oh, oh, you know on TikTok,
- 5:31Speaker 1: I often get served clips of television shows. That's not
- 5:34Speaker 1: really your TikTok algorithm, is it. No, it's not one
- 5:38Speaker 1: that I get often is Grey's Anatomy. And I did
- 5:41Speaker 1: recently get the April Kipner learns her baby has a
- 5:45Speaker 1: terminal illness in utero and watched her process that in
- 5:53Speaker 1: sixty second clips on TikTok. Did Sarah Drew ever wash
- 5:57Speaker 1: she ever nominated for her role on Grays? I don't know.
- 6:02Speaker 1: I don't know. I wonder why she left the show
- 6:06Speaker 1: she killed off? I don't know. She she was not
- 6:08Speaker 1: killed off. No, she wanted to go make that Hallmark coin.
- 6:13Speaker 1: I can't imagine she's making more on homework than she
- 6:15Speaker 1: was on a what's the name of that? Showrunner, Shonda
- 6:19Speaker 1: ry thank you on a Shonda Rhyme's joint. I don't know.
- 6:23Speaker 1: Sarah Drew was not individually nominated. However, she did receive
- 6:27Speaker 1: an Emmy nomination as director for The Gray's Anatomy B
- 6:31Speaker 1: Team digital spinoff series What Oh, I'm not shading her.
- 6:37Speaker 1: I'm like, I'm shading that project. What the heck is that?
- 6:40Speaker 1: What year was that? Don't know? Don't know? Is that? Like?
- 6:44Speaker 1: Come on over to our YouTube channel for even more
- 6:46Speaker 1: Grey's Anatomy content. According to the aioverview, she left due
- 6:52Speaker 1: to creative reasons and a need to downsize the cast,
- 6:55Speaker 1: and the abrupt ending did blindside her character. Oh oh,
- 7:00Speaker 1: that's too bad or blindsided the actress. They do bring
- 7:03Speaker 1: her back, and she and Jackson reunited at the end
- 7:06Speaker 1: or not at the end, but in later seasons she leaves,
- 7:09Speaker 1: she gets married, and then later they get her back
- 7:11Speaker 1: together with her once you love Jackson? Got it? Spoiler
- 7:16Speaker 1: alert for not is this show even airing stuff? Yeah?
- 7:19Speaker 1: It is? Oh, guys, I remember watching the pilot for
- 7:24Speaker 1: Gray's Anatomy when I was thirty. I'm forty eight now.
- 7:36Speaker 1: Movie not If you don't listen to Adrian, you don't
- 7:39Speaker 1: know why that's funny. Tell me what you liked about
- 7:41Speaker 1: this movie. Well, I did enjoy Sarah Drew and Eric
- 7:46Speaker 1: Johnson quite a bit. I'm not familiar with Eric Johnson.
- 7:49Speaker 1: We might have watched that. No, we did not ever
- 7:52Speaker 1: watch that movie that Goes In because it was way
- 7:55Speaker 1: pre us, way pre Girl's Gone Hallmark. Maybe it sounds
- 8:03Speaker 1: familiar to me because we just did like a Valentine's
- 8:06Speaker 1: movie Deep Dive, earlier this year, and it probably came
- 8:09Speaker 1: across our radar Autumn reser Is He's co star that nice.
- 8:15Speaker 1: I thought they were real nice together, and like I
- 8:19Speaker 1: said in my first impression, my first impression I was
- 8:22Speaker 1: I was expecting like this guy to try to like
- 8:24Speaker 1: murder her. So so I halfway through, You're like, man,
- 8:29Speaker 1: he has not giving me sinister vibes at all, totally
- 8:31Speaker 1: all I've heard flags everywhere watching it with like my
- 8:34Speaker 1: arms crossed, like I'm disappointed at the entire time. And
- 8:37Speaker 1: then at one point I did text Meg and I
- 8:39Speaker 1: was like, Okay, this movie's not bad. But I did
- 8:42Speaker 1: believe that these two characters wanted to be together and
- 8:47Speaker 1: every time they were on screen together. They do have
- 8:50Speaker 1: a very nice chemistry. And I will say points to
- 8:54Speaker 1: Lifetime for remembering that adults in love occasionally do things.
- 9:03Speaker 1: You know, yeah, you know, they were like in bed
- 9:07Speaker 1: together one morning, whatever, Like, let's acknowledge that two attractive
- 9:11Speaker 1: adults have hormones and aren't just exchanging chaste kisses. Yes, exactly.
- 9:20Speaker 1: I don't think it ruined the movie by any means.
- 9:24Speaker 1: It still felt quote family friendly. Yes, in my opinion, Yes,
- 9:29Speaker 1: that was my first What do you have any comments
- 9:31Speaker 1: about these two? I really loved them too. Another dynamic
- 9:35Speaker 1: I liked in this movie was the parent child family dynamic.
- 9:40Speaker 1: So good. The scene in the hospital when Ali is
- 9:44Speaker 1: yelling at her dad innis so real, right, She's just
- 9:47Speaker 1: like so frustrated, and she's just like, sit down and
- 9:50Speaker 1: stay there and listen to the doctors. Do not add
- 9:53Speaker 1: anything else to my plate at this moment, please. It's
- 9:57Speaker 1: so real. And then later in the movie when she
- 10:00Speaker 1: finally gets her dad to agree to her son Benjamin
- 10:03Speaker 1: moving in to kind of help out, and she gets
- 10:05Speaker 1: him to agree under the guise of like it'll help
- 10:07Speaker 1: mom out. As she's leaving, she's like, I love you
- 10:10Speaker 1: and he's like I love you too. And it's just real.
- 10:13Speaker 1: You get frustrated with the people in your life and
- 10:16Speaker 1: you still it's okay at the end. I agree. These
- 10:19Speaker 1: were some of my favorite scenes between Ali and her dad.
- 10:24Speaker 1: You know, I think because of this stage of life
- 10:28Speaker 1: that weird and when your parents are still your parents
- 10:32Speaker 1: but you start to become like responsible for you a
- 10:37Speaker 1: little bit or like, you know, that role reversal sneaks
- 10:41Speaker 1: up on people. And I just thought Sarah Drew's character
- 10:45Speaker 1: of Ali, like this was a nice storyline to incorporate
- 10:50Speaker 1: in this movie. The woman has a lot of stuff
- 10:52Speaker 1: going on, a lot of things. Like we've said, what
- 10:56Speaker 1: we've wanted from Hallmark movies is characters have layered lives,
- 10:59Speaker 1: and this woman had a layered life. Absolutely, so it
- 11:04Speaker 1: was very realistic and it felt very real to me.
- 11:09Speaker 1: I think so too. And can I just say like
- 11:12Speaker 1: their dialogue was real good. It was mostly between like
- 11:17Speaker 1: Ali and her dad. They had a very nice, casual,
- 11:21Speaker 1: realistic dialogue like you're pissing me off right now, and
- 11:23Speaker 1: you're pissing me off and they would say stuff like
- 11:26Speaker 1: that to each other. Like this is very non hallmarky,
- 11:29Speaker 1: but also very kind of realistic as well. So I
- 11:33Speaker 1: just appreciated it a little like for me, loved the
- 11:36Speaker 1: daughter's gen z vocabulary vibes are potentially sus made me lol.
- 11:41Speaker 1: I just thought it was great and fun. I liked
- 11:45Speaker 1: this is a little like for me. I liked that
- 11:48Speaker 1: Ali was still grieving the death of her husband and
- 11:53Speaker 1: it wasn't treated like a problem that needed to be
- 11:56Speaker 1: solved before she could move on in a new relation. Like,
- 12:00Speaker 1: she still shows up for her job, she still shows
- 12:03Speaker 1: up in parenting, she still shows up with decision making
- 12:06Speaker 1: and helping her parents. Like, I appreciated that while she
- 12:11Speaker 1: was still grieving, life still went on. Yeah, it's just
- 12:14Speaker 1: something she needs to live alongside. Exactly, I have one
- 12:20Speaker 1: last like that is going to turn into like a
- 12:23Speaker 1: little bit of a conversation piece if I may. Yes,
- 12:27Speaker 1: So I really enjoyed the search and rescue profession O
- 12:33Speaker 1: me too. So on Hallmark we get stories with bakers
- 12:38Speaker 1: and and owners and Christmas tree farm people. I'm not
- 12:42Speaker 1: sure we well, I don't want to say never, but
- 12:46Speaker 1: search and rescue teams I know we get the occasional
- 12:49Speaker 1: like first Responder movie, but search and rescue question mark.
- 12:54Speaker 1: I can't nothing's clicking off hand right right now? Email
- 12:57Speaker 1: us at Hello at Girls Gone hamewark if I am
- 13:01Speaker 1: missing something in the resume of Hollmark. But let me
- 13:05Speaker 1: get on. I enjoyed the energy that setting gave to
- 13:11Speaker 1: the AAOV. Yeah, I liked it. But then it started
- 13:16Speaker 1: to get me thinking about first responders in a way
- 13:20Speaker 1: that I've never really given any thought to it. Huh.
- 13:25Speaker 1: I was wondering about the spouses and families of first responders.
- 13:31Speaker 1: Are they just white knuckling every shift that their loved
- 13:35Speaker 1: one goes on, like every late night call, every rescue mission. Like,
- 13:40Speaker 1: I don't know if I could live in that heightened
- 13:45Speaker 1: state of fear that something might happen. Yeah, no, the same,
- 13:50Speaker 1: I feel the same. That would be really hard for
- 13:52Speaker 1: me to You need a good team behind you to
- 13:55Speaker 1: be able to do it well. Totally. So I'm so curious,
- 13:58Speaker 1: Like if any of our listens, we don't have to
- 14:02Speaker 1: read anything on air or whatever, but I'm so just curious. So,
- 14:06Speaker 1: like what that process is. Oh, yeah, you are a
- 14:09Speaker 1: spouse or a first responder or in law enforcement, or
- 14:12Speaker 1: where how are you functioning during your day? You know,
- 14:15Speaker 1: this storyline of I can't be in a relationship with
- 14:20Speaker 1: someone who's putting their life on the line daily is
- 14:22Speaker 1: not new to me. I couldn't name a specific project,
- 14:26Speaker 1: but I do know that I've definitely read books where
- 14:28Speaker 1: this was the storyline. For whatever reason, this person had
- 14:31Speaker 1: lost a parent or just couldn't live with that fear
- 14:37Speaker 1: every day. And yeah, I think it certainly comes from
- 14:41Speaker 1: a real place. I'm going to go on and talk
- 14:44Speaker 1: about it more in my wishes. That's where I wanted
- 14:47Speaker 1: to leave my likes. Well, I want to say two things.
- 14:50Speaker 1: One on the search and rescue topic, I think you're
- 14:53Speaker 1: right that even outside of Hallmark, we don't get a
- 14:56Speaker 1: lot of search and rescue content, and there's so much
- 14:58Speaker 1: first responder I mean, how many police, hospital, firefighter frontline
- 15:04Speaker 1: shows are there? There's room in that market for a
- 15:08Speaker 1: search and rescue situation, and I'm sure there has been,
- 15:11Speaker 1: but it doesn't dominate the way some of these other
- 15:14Speaker 1: professions do. Agree. My last full like is as much
- 15:18Speaker 1: as I think I was supposed to find this movie
- 15:21Speaker 1: full of quote yucky love stuff, name that movie, I
- 15:25Speaker 1: cannot oh best friend's wedding. Oh, I think maybe some
- 15:29Speaker 1: have may have found this movie cheesy. I kind of
- 15:32Speaker 1: was in on the romance of it all. I was
- 15:36Speaker 1: in the mood to take that sort of content in.
- 15:39Speaker 1: I didn't find it cheesy. Have you seen reviews that
- 15:42Speaker 1: people thought it's cheesy. I haven't actually read a single review.
- 15:45Speaker 1: I just think sometimes when we get into the dramatized
- 15:49Speaker 1: love of it all, I don't know. Okay, so tell
- 15:53Speaker 1: me why you're on the fence. I want to talk
- 15:55Speaker 1: about the fight. Yes, let's talk about it. I can't
- 15:59Speaker 1: decide how I feel about Ali getting mad that Sean
- 16:05Speaker 1: didn't fight for her. Now, I thought on screen, it's
- 16:10Speaker 1: a great fight. I love the way they yell at
- 16:12Speaker 1: each other. It's fun to watch. But she told him
- 16:16Speaker 1: three times. First she doesn't need guys that she works with.
- 16:19Speaker 1: Then she needs to take things slow. Finally, she tells
- 16:22Speaker 1: him she's too much for him. She doesn't have anything
- 16:24Speaker 1: to offer him, and she pushes him away when her
- 16:26Speaker 1: dad's in the hospital and she feels like she's just
- 16:29Speaker 1: going to be taking more than she has to give. Right,
- 16:32Speaker 1: he listens to her and gives her the space that
- 16:35Speaker 1: she asks for, and then she shows up and she's like,
- 16:38Speaker 1: you didn't fight for me. He kissed yeah, yeah, And
- 16:41Speaker 1: I thought, great, fight right, And I love when she's
- 16:45Speaker 1: like I needed you. I just loved that scene so much.
- 16:49Speaker 1: And then the kiss that follows really was a great
- 16:52Speaker 1: smoochio mater moment for me. But where do you land
- 16:56Speaker 1: on that? Should he have fought for her or did
- 16:58Speaker 1: he do the right thing? I have a real problem
- 17:02Speaker 1: with women who who act like they don't or who
- 17:08Speaker 1: tell you they don't need you but secretly want you
- 17:12Speaker 1: to chase after them. Uh huh, fight for you, fight
- 17:15Speaker 1: for them. I don't like that. I don't like any
- 17:18Speaker 1: of that business at all. Either say I'm confused about
- 17:22Speaker 1: it and I don't know where I'm landing, or choose
- 17:26Speaker 1: one way or the other, like we cannot be together
- 17:28Speaker 1: or we are together. I it feels like a game
- 17:32Speaker 1: to me. I'm just I'm not into that at all. Yeah,
- 17:36Speaker 1: I hear that. So when she was like I wanted
- 17:39Speaker 1: you to fight for me, I was like, oh, give me,
- 17:41Speaker 1: I'll break. I was arms folded across me, pissed watching
- 17:45Speaker 1: it well, because she was so good about setting her
- 17:48Speaker 1: boundaries in other ways, and then in this circumstance, she
- 17:53Speaker 1: doesn't communicate clearly, No, not at all, because the conversation,
- 17:57Speaker 1: the breakup conversation, could have been more the conversation that
- 18:01Speaker 1: they have in this moment where she's like, I feel
- 18:04Speaker 1: like I'm going to be a burden to you. They
- 18:05Speaker 1: could have skipped all of this, I agree, where he
- 18:08Speaker 1: could have just said, look, that's just how relationships work,
- 18:10Speaker 1: you know, it's ebb and flow, and sometimes you need
- 18:13Speaker 1: more than you can give and that's just the way
- 18:15Speaker 1: it goes. But they had to have the fight for
- 18:17Speaker 1: the dramatics of it all. Yeah, and this is where
- 18:20Speaker 1: like a roll my eyes sometimes, sure, because they feel
- 18:24Speaker 1: like checkboxes to me when they're writing a script. Mm hmmm. Yeah.
- 18:36Speaker 1: So we're full on in wishes now, Yeah, I have
- 18:40Speaker 1: a few. I was annoyed with a couple things, the
- 18:47Speaker 1: pace of things in terms of like these two are
- 18:53Speaker 1: fully in love with each other. I just felt like
- 18:55Speaker 1: escalated very quickly when Sean goes out on his mission,
- 19:01Speaker 1: his search and rescue mission, and he's not in communication
- 19:04Speaker 1: for several hours and she's stressed out right, and he
- 19:08Speaker 1: comes first, thing he's got to do, I gotta go
- 19:10Speaker 1: see Ali, right, and she's pissed in this moment his
- 19:15Speaker 1: he proposes, how is that going to make the situation
- 19:20Speaker 1: any better? Well, he proposes and says, I'll quit my job.
- 19:24Speaker 1: I know. But I'm like, bro, I know, say you'll
- 19:27Speaker 1: quit the job first. And then it just was I
- 19:32Speaker 1: was like, proposing does not change anything. It does not
- 19:35Speaker 1: change anything. And then he's like, I'm gonna quit my
- 19:36Speaker 1: job for you, and you know, grand gesture kind of
- 19:41Speaker 1: liked it. He's fighting for her, right, yes, because if
- 19:45Speaker 1: she doesn't want him to be in danger all the time,
- 19:48Speaker 1: he's I feel like this gesture he's showing I'm fighting
- 19:52Speaker 1: for the relationship. Of course, that unravels because it's not
- 19:56Speaker 1: who he is, Like he's you know, designed to be
- 20:00Speaker 1: this search and rescue guy, and her mom lays it
- 20:04Speaker 1: on a little bit thick for her in terms of that,
- 20:07Speaker 1: you know, well, with good reason, I think I agree
- 20:11Speaker 1: to you, Like I don't think a person should, you know,
- 20:14Speaker 1: I do not. I can't go either way. I don't
- 20:15Speaker 1: think a person should walk away from their job just
- 20:19Speaker 1: to satisfy their partner. There's got to be some sort
- 20:23Speaker 1: of work around here. And in the end, he goes
- 20:28Speaker 1: back to his job, does he not? Oh yeah, so
- 20:32Speaker 1: where are we at? Okay, what's the work around? Like?
- 20:36Speaker 1: What have we settled on? So everything you said the
- 20:39Speaker 1: timeline of their relationship feels so clunky to me. We
- 20:43Speaker 1: go from Sean calling into the radio show to ask
- 20:45Speaker 1: for advice to them having dinner together. I guess we're
- 20:48Speaker 1: meant to assume that he called and asked her out.
- 20:51Speaker 1: But what led her to change her mind about going
- 20:52Speaker 1: out with him? We don't see any of that. I
- 20:55Speaker 1: would like to have seen that, because it was a
- 20:57Speaker 1: sicking point for them. Then we get them on to
- 21:00Speaker 1: them and spending time together. They're flirting, they're smiling, They're
- 21:02Speaker 1: in a very relationshippy place, holding hands, and then he
- 21:04Speaker 1: asked her to be his girlfriend. She's like, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 21:08Speaker 1: I gotta take things slow. And I was like okay.
- 21:11Speaker 1: But then to the I quit my job for you, No,
- 21:14Speaker 1: I don't I agree with you that. I think it's
- 21:17Speaker 1: a it's a nice grand gesture, sure, but as soon
- 21:19Speaker 1: as he did it, I was like, I don't like that,
- 21:21Speaker 1: because well, it's nice that he was willing to do
- 21:24Speaker 1: it for the relationship. I feel like she had to
- 21:27Speaker 1: know I can't ask you to say goodbye to this
- 21:30Speaker 1: huge part of yourself. And I think for me, the
- 21:32Speaker 1: most glaring part of this is there's never any discussion
- 21:36Speaker 1: of Allie leaving her job, and she puts herself in
- 21:39Speaker 1: danger too, as evidenced by the end of this movie. Yeah,
- 21:42Speaker 1: but Sean's not like spun up about her being at work.
- 21:46Speaker 1: I agree, Ali's the one with the quote problem. I agree. However,
- 21:51Speaker 1: it feels to me because Ali's children lost their father
- 21:54Speaker 1: in an accident, not because of his job in an accident.
- 21:57Speaker 1: But it seems to me like if she she's going
- 22:00Speaker 1: to take issue with her potentially losing someone else, why
- 22:05Speaker 1: at no point is she like, I can't have my
- 22:07Speaker 1: children lose me. Why at no point is that a
- 22:10Speaker 1: thought or a discussion. I don't think a person who
- 22:13Speaker 1: has a dangerous job should inherently be required to quit
- 22:16Speaker 1: that job because they have children, because we need people
- 22:19Speaker 1: to do these jobs and it is a huge sacrifice
- 22:22Speaker 1: on the part of the families. But for someone like
- 22:26Speaker 1: her who was so intent on you can't have a
- 22:28Speaker 1: dangerous job because it scares me find it interesting that
- 22:31Speaker 1: she never thinks about, like, well, what would it do
- 22:34Speaker 1: to my kids they lost their second parent. Yeah, totally.
- 22:37Speaker 1: Or I mean what about this? Maybe this is naive,
- 22:40Speaker 1: but isn't there risk every day in losing somebody you loved. Sure,
- 22:44Speaker 1: of course, anybody could get hit by a car or
- 22:46Speaker 1: is not what happened to her husband. I can't in
- 22:49Speaker 1: a car accident. I don't remember exactly. I thought he
- 22:51Speaker 1: died in the line of duty, but I don't. I
- 22:54Speaker 1: don't remember. Oh, but I'm just saying like life is unpredictable.
- 22:58Speaker 1: So the fact that she so can't function because he's
- 23:03Speaker 1: out on a job too much for me. Because you
- 23:09Speaker 1: could get mauled by a dog in your front yard,
- 23:11Speaker 1: you know what I mean. I'm like, what, yeah, what
- 23:15Speaker 1: It's like, I'm not going to go to X, Y,
- 23:18Speaker 1: and Z locations because those events are dangerous. Well, it's
- 23:23Speaker 1: dangerous to exist in the world. Yes, yeah, yeah exactly.
- 23:27Speaker 1: And my maybe final wish of this movie is that
- 23:32Speaker 1: we kept just going back and forth over over like
- 23:36Speaker 1: I love you, I can't do this, I want this. No,
- 23:37Speaker 1: I can't do this. This changes everything? What Yeah? So
- 23:42Speaker 1: I don't know if it would have this worked better
- 23:45Speaker 1: as a series. No, No, yeah, I agree, I don't.
- 23:50Speaker 1: I'm not asking for that either. I just maybe in
- 23:53Speaker 1: like the eighty minutes or whatever it gets seventy five,
- 23:57Speaker 1: how long an hour and a half movie. Maybe we
- 24:00Speaker 1: could have cut some stuff. I don't know. Yeah, I agree,
- 24:03Speaker 1: I agree. My other wishes go to don't turn the
- 24:07Speaker 1: podcast off. But I'm not sure we needed the Clint
- 24:10Speaker 1: and Lisa cameo, oh, I agree. I think it would
- 24:14Speaker 1: have made now. It was cute. They were fun. I
- 24:17Speaker 1: found Clint very charming in the way he was all
- 24:19Speaker 1: in on their relationship. It was sweet, the way they
- 24:21Speaker 1: talked to him. All that was fine. They did a
- 24:24Speaker 1: great job. I'm just not sure that it was needed.
- 24:26Speaker 1: And I think it also Rather than Sean a man
- 24:31Speaker 1: who lives in the year twenty twenty six calling into
- 24:34Speaker 1: a radio show, it was giving doctor Laura right, it
- 24:38Speaker 1: was getting sleepless in Seattle a little bit. Why did
- 24:41Speaker 1: he not just talk to his friend Brett played by
- 24:45Speaker 1: Ronnie Road Junior. Why couldn't he have just said, man,
- 24:48Speaker 1: this is why got going on. He could have just
- 24:50Speaker 1: said ask her out, man, yeah, shoot your shot. That
- 24:53Speaker 1: conversation seems so much more organic to me. And then
- 24:56Speaker 1: they bring it back in like, oh, Clinton, Lisa sient, okay, whatever.
- 25:00Speaker 1: You don't know where the flowers that your wedding came from? Yeah,
- 25:03Speaker 1: where these flowers come from. Finally, this is also Clinton
- 25:07Speaker 1: Lisa's shade, but it's not really I love this song.
- 25:10Speaker 1: I said it earlier. Great song. The title does not
- 25:15Speaker 1: relate to the title to the content of this movie
- 25:18Speaker 1: at all. Oh tell me more. It has nothing to
- 25:20Speaker 1: do with them getting married, true. I mean they get married.
- 25:24Speaker 1: That's all what this movie's about. It's their commitment to
- 25:27Speaker 1: each other. Sure, I suppose. I suppose great song, though
- 25:31Speaker 1: let's talk. Did you see that? I really don't have
- 25:34Speaker 1: one other than Grover was my favorite. Grover was great,
- 25:38Speaker 1: although Grover does kind of disappear halfway through this movie,
- 25:40Speaker 1: like there's no Grover for sixty percent of this movie.
- 25:44Speaker 1: But when Grover's like standing over the area where she
- 25:46Speaker 1: has fallen in, Grover's like, first of all, Growver is
- 25:49Speaker 1: a girl, which is so funny. I love it. She's
- 25:51Speaker 1: like whoof whoof Woofer? He's like, oh, is mama down there?
- 25:54Speaker 1: You know? I was like, that was a dog lover.
- 25:56Speaker 1: I was like, would my dog flipper it out for me?
- 26:00Speaker 1: Like Lassie, tell somebody I'm here. Probably not hipper. My two,
- 26:05Speaker 1: did you see that's our? The first rescue scene features
- 26:07Speaker 1: a very prominent green scary when Sean goes to repel
- 26:11Speaker 1: down to rescue the hikers that had fallen. And my
- 26:16Speaker 1: second did you see that? Is simply a question. What's
- 26:18Speaker 1: with Ali's mom and her little dog? Did you even notice? No? No,
- 26:22Speaker 1: she carries a little purse dog around in her arms
- 26:24Speaker 1: everywhere she go ever even realized, and that mom seems
- 26:28Speaker 1: very like down to earth, like it was just funny.
- 26:31Speaker 1: She's just always got this little dog in her arms. No,
- 26:33Speaker 1: never moved. They didn't even like acknowledge the little dog.
- 26:36Speaker 1: I don't remember little Chihuahua like dog. No idea. I'm
- 26:41Speaker 1: going to ask you, huh, did you think it was
- 26:44Speaker 1: when the girls, the daughter's prom date cancels on her
- 26:48Speaker 1: and then Sean gets like the cadet or whatever to
- 26:52Speaker 1: come take her to prom? Did you think that was weird?
- 26:55Speaker 1: I mean yes, because he was kind of like older.
- 26:59Speaker 1: It was he old. I know, he could be nineteen,
- 27:02Speaker 1: I don't know, or in high school. Right, couldn't he
- 27:04Speaker 1: be doing some sort of like I don't know? I thought, yeah,
- 27:07Speaker 1: I thought it was weird. And also like, I don't
- 27:09Speaker 1: want someone to like show up and pity date me
- 27:11Speaker 1: to problem that I've never met before. They're like, thank
- 27:13Speaker 1: you so much for doing this, thank you so much. Yeah,
- 27:16Speaker 1: that would not make me feel good. Yeah, especially in
- 27:19Speaker 1: this day and age, which I don't know if people know,
- 27:22Speaker 1: but like, people can go to prom without dates. Lots
- 27:24Speaker 1: of people do totally. They just go with a group
- 27:25Speaker 1: of girlfriends. So, like, I get that it would be
- 27:29Speaker 1: devastating to be a teenage girl and have your date
- 27:32Speaker 1: bail on you. There are other options, I agree. Are
- 27:35Speaker 1: you ready to rate this one? Yeah? What did you
- 27:37Speaker 1: rate it? I gave it three stars? Oh? I give
- 27:40Speaker 1: it three point seven five stars. Okay, you need more
- 27:43Speaker 1: comedy or action or something. I need more murdery. When
- 27:49Speaker 1: I'm telling you, Lifetime, like I expect stolen babies or
- 27:53Speaker 1: you know, stuff like that. Sure, don't babies? Huh? Are
- 27:58Speaker 1: romances like do Lifetime? Does Lifetime make romance movies on
- 28:02Speaker 1: the regular? I think so? I had no idea. I
- 28:07Speaker 1: think so how it's like a ripped from the headlines
- 28:10Speaker 1: kind of I think, sure, I think that's a lot
- 28:13Speaker 1: of it. I think that's a lot of it. And
- 28:15Speaker 1: that's why I was so excited. I was like, Oh,
- 28:16Speaker 1: Sarah Drew doing something different. Nope, not really, but you
- 28:19Speaker 1: know she's still great. She's still great. Wait were you
- 28:23Speaker 1: going to have a comment on her dramatic moment? Oh
- 28:26Speaker 1: I just didn't like it? Oh so over the top?
- 28:29Speaker 1: I love it. I just love her. Okay, So I
- 28:32Speaker 1: just clicked on a link for Lifetime upcoming movies. This
- 28:35Speaker 1: is a weird IMDb list. It's not. Don't come for me.
- 28:38Speaker 1: I don't even know when these are coming out, but
- 28:40Speaker 1: this happens to be a list of ten upcoming movies.
- 28:43Speaker 1: Some of them have already come out. But the DNA Murders,
- 28:46Speaker 1: Sorority Wars, Buried by My Husband, Deadly House Party, Nanny's
- 28:50Speaker 1: Deadly Secret, Yeah a song to Quelle four, Deadly Crush
- 28:53Speaker 1: is deadly arrangement, deadly therapist, and the perfect step mother.

- 28:59Speaker 1: little little more murder in our Do you want to
