- 0:00Speaker 1: For all you med bastards loving the Big Show podcast
- 0:05Speaker 1: Get Up Even Closer.
- 0:07Speaker 2: On Instagram, YouTube and TikTok for raw doggets for to
- 0:11Speaker 2: seven every weekday on radio Roar dogg Man, Raw Dogget
- 0:17Speaker 2: Oh go on, let's go?
- 0:18Speaker 1: Oh there we go?
- 0:19Speaker 2: There you go? Good stuff?
- 0:21Speaker 1: How we game? Fellas? You are good?
- 0:22Speaker 2: Pretty good? Actually?
- 0:23Speaker 1: Yeah? Good? Yeah?
- 0:23Speaker 3: Cracking back into it's warm up here, didn't I have
- 0:25Speaker 3: you noticed that about Auckland it's toasty?
- 0:29Speaker 2: Well, there's a shithole. No, it's in winter.
- 0:34Speaker 1: I agree, man, thank you.
- 0:36Speaker 3: The weather on that day was terrible, but then I
- 0:39Speaker 3: went to the pub on Saturday, which was all good.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Baby.
- 0:43Speaker 1: It was actually a nicer day in Fatissy the day
- 0:46Speaker 1: we left.
- 0:47Speaker 4: This is what we do, though. You go somewhere where
- 0:49Speaker 4: it's your hometown and you're real stoked about it, like Todunger,
- 0:51Speaker 4: for example, and then you guys say it's one of
- 0:53Speaker 4: the shittest places in New Zealand and then nice to
- 0:55Speaker 4: cut for it.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Sure, I yeah, I'm not a fan of toad on it.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Oh right, No, we're concentrating on Wellington now.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Yeah, nor Wellington.
- 1:05Speaker 3: It's not it's not my place to defend, but oh absolutely.
- 1:09Speaker 3: I could never live there again. And it's a goddamn
- 1:11Speaker 3: shame what has happened to that city. Yes, it is
- 1:14Speaker 3: a goddamn shame because they have gutted it. All the
- 1:17Speaker 3: job losses from government something like fifteen thousand, what percentage
- 1:21Speaker 3: of those have come out of Wellington. But when you
- 1:23Speaker 3: lose fifteen thousand jobs and then there's not that many
- 1:25Speaker 3: people going to restaurants, and there's not that many people
- 1:27Speaker 3: going to bars, and they all close down, and now
- 1:29Speaker 3: your town is full of insane people's screaming. Yes, it's honestly,
- 1:35Speaker 3: man like, what the fuck are we doing in this country?
- 1:37Speaker 3: When you can let that happen to your capital city
- 1:39Speaker 3: or any city, Because the same happens down here on
- 1:41Speaker 3: Queen Street, It's like, for sure, it's pretty fucked.
- 1:46Speaker 1: I felt for a long while now, the last few
- 1:49Speaker 1: years that have been down to Walley that she's getting
- 1:51Speaker 1: very shabby. And I said that a couple of years ago.
- 1:54Speaker 1: It's very run down and grungy, and you know, which
- 2:00Speaker 1: is not necessarily a bad thing, but in this case
- 2:02Speaker 1: it is. When you combine it with freezing cold weather,
- 2:06Speaker 1: pounding rain and.
- 2:07Speaker 4: Wind, I just couldn't believe for an hour after us
- 2:10Speaker 4: walking in the wind, which was Jason's idea.
- 2:12Speaker 2: By the way, my ears to be fear. It was
- 2:16Speaker 2: a five minute walk, it felt like an hour in
- 2:19Speaker 2: that headwind. Actually what ears for an hour afterwards?
- 2:22Speaker 1: Walking back from that actually was worse. Mind you, we
- 2:26Speaker 1: had the wind at our back, it was better. Yeah,
- 2:27Speaker 1: we had the wind at our back, but it was passing,
- 2:29Speaker 1: it was raining heavier.
- 2:30Speaker 4: I just I love when we came up with staircase
- 2:33Speaker 4: by the You're probably used to it to something though,
- 2:35Speaker 4: but you can't that staircase. You gotta walk on that
- 2:37Speaker 4: giant concourse and it was genuinely the strongest wind I'd
- 2:40Speaker 4: ever felt. We're all just laughing the whole way. Yeah,
- 2:42Speaker 4: it was great.
- 2:43Speaker 1: I got back to my hotel room after that.
- 2:46Speaker 2: Who just pulled?
- 2:49Speaker 1: No?
- 2:49Speaker 2: Whatever? Sure sure you didn't.
- 2:51Speaker 1: I mean I had the towel there just in case.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Why a towel? Do you even need a towel anymore?
- 2:56Speaker 2: At this point?
- 2:57Speaker 1: Mate? Do I what? Not?
- 2:59Speaker 2: Only does he have a giant downstairs? God should see that.
- 3:03Speaker 1: You should see my ejaculation, As I say, I I
- 3:09Speaker 1: don't indulge in that kind of thing regularly.
- 3:12Speaker 2: So you know, you yourself raise your eye.
- 3:15Speaker 1: Plundering myself. Yeah, but no, but I got into bed,
- 3:20Speaker 1: got a burger.
- 3:21Speaker 2: It would have been seven thirty. Yes, I love that.
- 3:24Speaker 1: Started watching TV and then and I genuinely was going
- 3:28Speaker 1: to meet the Fellers.
- 3:29Speaker 4: Because he was like, let me know where you watch
- 3:31Speaker 4: the Warriors. Yes, and then we found a spot.
- 3:34Speaker 1: But then I realized what it was like outside, and
- 3:38Speaker 1: then it was the Warriors, and I went, yeah, we.
- 3:42Speaker 2: Had a great little spot.
- 3:43Speaker 4: It was me, Pugshn and his sister and we were
- 3:45Speaker 4: little little seat off to the side looking at the
- 3:47Speaker 4: big screen.
- 3:48Speaker 2: With beers on tape.
- 3:49Speaker 1: It looked good.
- 3:49Speaker 2: She bought some some snacks.
- 3:51Speaker 1: It was about three k aways.
- 3:52Speaker 2: So it was like I had to get an uber
- 3:54Speaker 2: and job, big job, too much hotel.
- 3:59Speaker 1: Yeah, she's good.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Yeah, to be fair as well.
- 4:03Speaker 4: After we did the Warriors, Pug's assister drop us back
- 4:07Speaker 4: at the hotel. So it's like ten thirty or something.
- 4:10Speaker 4: Go back up to the room, Pugs. I'll come back
- 4:11Speaker 4: and get you in five minutes and then we'll go out.
- 4:13Speaker 4: I was like, okay, cool, go out. Were just out
- 4:15Speaker 4: to a gig or something.
- 4:16Speaker 2: I don't know. So he comes in.
- 4:17Speaker 4: I'm on the phone to my missus, I don't want
- 4:19Speaker 4: to go out, and then Pugs walks, there's all right
- 4:21Speaker 4: it okay, see actually all right, I have fun get
- 4:25Speaker 4: out in the front and I'm like, I can't be
- 4:26Speaker 4: bothered doing this. As soon as we're open the door,
- 4:28Speaker 4: it's like blowing a gale and I'm just like, oh
- 4:30Speaker 4: my god. Pugs is like, oh, this place is around
- 4:32Speaker 4: the corner. I map at nine hundred meters and I
- 4:35Speaker 4: was like, ah, He's like, you know what, it's Uber.
- 4:37Speaker 4: I'll order an Uber and he's like, oh, it's gonna
- 4:39Speaker 4: be nine minutes. I was like, fuck this, I'm going
- 4:44Speaker 4: to be and I'm ordering an uber. It's pizza and
- 4:45Speaker 4: I'm watching an RL nice man did that exact thing, and.
- 4:48Speaker 1: I'll tell you what happened. Oh Keesy and I met
- 4:51Speaker 1: down at the lobby at nine o'clock. Back next morning,
- 4:54Speaker 1: Mogi and who should stagger in from this big night
- 4:57Speaker 1: on the town? Old? But he was in good shape,
- 5:03Speaker 1: wasn't he? Keys He was in good spirits.
- 5:05Speaker 4: Yeah, it was very similar spirits to her when I
- 5:07Speaker 4: left him at about ten thirty.
- 5:08Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:08Speaker 4: Yeah, he's machine or pug Son. Yeah, just been tripodding
- 5:11Speaker 4: around the Capitol.
- 5:13Speaker 3: Famous and Wellington not imagine huge.
- 5:17Speaker 4: But do you know when you just you realize the
- 5:19Speaker 4: only reason I was going out was to keep Puks
- 5:21Speaker 4: on company. And I was like, we should be doing this,
- 5:23Speaker 4: It'll be fun. And then I just realized, actually, I
- 5:26Speaker 4: don't want to keep pugs on company. I want to
- 5:28Speaker 4: eat pizza and yeah, yeah, yeah, and watch.
- 5:32Speaker 3: I went around to I went around to my family's
- 5:35Speaker 3: place with the wife's family's place.
- 5:36Speaker 1: So they made it because I was I was very concerned.
- 5:42Speaker 3: She said there was no mouse whatsoever. Wow, which is amazing.
- 5:46Speaker 3: It must have been a dead on headwind. Yeah, so
- 5:48Speaker 3: the only way to explain it because it was much worse,
- 5:51Speaker 3: wasn't it at that time?
- 5:52Speaker 1: And it was terrible.
- 5:52Speaker 3: But anyway, they got in and so we went around
- 5:55Speaker 3: to the sister in law's place and there was a
- 5:58Speaker 3: couple of sister in law's, two sister in law's, a
- 6:01Speaker 3: couple of brother in law's, a cousin, a grandmother. All
- 6:06Speaker 3: of them were them, so it was nice. One of
- 6:08Speaker 3: the sisters and her partner were leaving the next day
- 6:12Speaker 3: four o'clock in the morning to go to They're after
- 6:15Speaker 3: Spain and.
- 6:15Speaker 2: Shit, there's a lot of people doing it. Not me, obviously,
- 6:19Speaker 2: but a lot of people.
- 6:20Speaker 3: Why would you, Yeah that wanting, and I pretty much
- 6:23Speaker 3: just yawned my way through the entire.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Evening.
- 6:27Speaker 3: Left about nine point thirty, went back to the hotel
- 6:30Speaker 3: there and just wanted to have a.
- 6:33Speaker 2: Sleeping Yeah you know what I mean by yourself? No, yes,
- 6:37Speaker 2: so you stay here.
- 6:38Speaker 3: I'm off and thought that would be good to sleep,
- 6:41Speaker 3: but then, of course I woke up at four o'clock
- 6:43Speaker 3: in the morning.
- 6:44Speaker 2: So I'm just lying there, and.
- 6:45Speaker 3: As we discussed last week, my wife's got quite a
- 6:47Speaker 3: few rules around it were not rules, but she doesn't
- 6:50Speaker 3: like being disturbed, you know, with the bottle of water,
- 6:54Speaker 3: the lid, you know, there's all that sort of shit
- 6:57Speaker 3: that goes on. So I'm lying there for a couple
- 6:58Speaker 3: of hours. Can't you have my phone? Because that's cost
- 7:03Speaker 3: too much light that wakes her up and she's going
- 7:07Speaker 3: to my mess And also I don't think she took
- 7:10Speaker 3: it with her then. But also I'm trying to go
- 7:12Speaker 3: back to sleep and it didn't work anyway. I go
- 7:13Speaker 3: to about six or so I thought, oh fuck this,
- 7:15Speaker 3: I'll go to the gym, and so I got up
- 7:17Speaker 3: to go to the gym, but of course the gym
- 7:18Speaker 3: doesn't open till seven, so I had to wait around
- 7:21Speaker 3: for half an hour for that to open, and then
- 7:23Speaker 3: did a quick workout. Was sort of back at the
- 7:25Speaker 3: hotel bar about quarters away, and the missus was she
- 7:28Speaker 3: was up and I was giving her a sleeping and
- 7:31Speaker 3: she sort of thought, well, I thought we were staying.
- 7:35Speaker 3: I thought we were waking up together in the hotel room.
- 7:38Speaker 3: But I'm also like, well, but what time are you
- 7:42Speaker 3: were you going to wake up? Eight nine? How long
- 7:44Speaker 3: do I lie there unable to do anything? And of
- 7:47Speaker 3: course as soon as I got up, then she decided
- 7:49Speaker 3: that she was going to get up. So then we're
- 7:51Speaker 3: everyone's in a horror of a mood.
- 7:54Speaker 2: And you wonder why you bother the big shirt wee
- 7:58Speaker 2: days from four on Radio Big Show podcast.
- 8:04Speaker 3: So anyway, we got through that and then had a
- 8:06Speaker 3: great day. Went to Parrot Dog out at Lowell Bay
- 8:10Speaker 3: Great Bar, and here we should have yearn about that joint.
- 8:14Speaker 3: Good place, but I had heaps of mates turned up
- 8:16Speaker 3: there and yeah, lovely time Sunday about one or two.
- 8:22Speaker 2: Yeah, bloody good. Good, So you are on the Saturday
- 8:25Speaker 2: you did this bloody awesome, Yeah, bloody good bloody awesome.
- 8:29Speaker 2: I enjoyed.
- 8:30Speaker 3: It was great seeing all my mates and all that
- 8:31Speaker 3: sort of stuff. But yeah, Jesus Christ, fuck, you don't
- 8:36Speaker 3: want to you don't want to love there. I mean,
- 8:39Speaker 3: you're just it's you love it. But it's hard work, yes,
- 8:43Speaker 3: and it looks like it's more hard work than it's
- 8:45Speaker 3: ever been because I lived there and it's prime best music,
- 8:48Speaker 3: best bars, best restaurants, and now all of those are
- 8:51Speaker 3: closed and it's just cold and windy. Yes, still love it, but.
- 8:55Speaker 1: Yeah, good stuff man. And then we get home made
- 8:59Speaker 1: easy and it's immediate drama and then drama, but then drama.
- 9:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 9:05Speaker 1: I felt for you. Actually, when you sit bed, I
- 9:07Speaker 1: was like, ah, because the admin of getting just getting back.
- 9:12Speaker 4: And it's work travel too. So it's a Saturday, you're
- 9:14Speaker 4: coming home from work. It's all the sadmen just sitting
- 9:18Speaker 4: at the airport mucking around most of the time. But
- 9:20Speaker 4: then you get home finally, yeah, which is fine your
- 9:24Speaker 4: land and you're just like, I'm going to half an
- 9:27Speaker 4: hour silent uber trip all the way.
- 9:29Speaker 2: Home and someone's driving. You're homeless with this.
- 9:32Speaker 4: My wife messages me and she's like, I'm in the area,
- 9:34Speaker 4: I can pick you up if you want, And I
- 9:35Speaker 4: was like, how are you going to be great? And
- 9:37Speaker 4: then as I landed, tourn my phone and she's like,
- 9:39Speaker 4: oh no, I've lift my lights on my cars?
- 9:41Speaker 2: Did I need?
- 9:42Speaker 4: I'm stranded outside smart on your hunger and I'm like.
- 9:46Speaker 2: Oh, And I'm like, can have you got any jump
- 9:48Speaker 2: of leads? Know?
- 9:49Speaker 4: Can you try to find some? There's nothing, there's no
- 9:52Speaker 4: one around, and I'm like, there, don't find some? And
- 9:55Speaker 4: so we figured out. I asked out uber driver. I said,
- 9:58Speaker 4: if I tap year with the company logging, would you
- 10:02Speaker 4: jump start our cars?
- 10:03Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 10:04Speaker 2: Yes, sweet, And she's like that you won't be able
- 10:05Speaker 2: to access it because the cars parked in front Jill.
- 10:09Speaker 4: So I was like, well, what the what, what the
- 10:11Speaker 4: hell are we doing here? Then I was just like
- 10:12Speaker 4: so over it and just want to be on the couch,
- 10:14Speaker 4: hungover doing nothing. But we sold it, and her trying
- 10:18Speaker 4: to help me out turn into a performance.
- 10:20Speaker 1: I I got home.
- 10:23Speaker 2: That's good, I've got a performance one as well.
- 10:25Speaker 1: And my wife we were moving my one of my
- 10:30Speaker 1: girl's beds out of her flat, which my wife would
- 10:32Speaker 1: already down in the van, but then actually, don't worry
- 10:36Speaker 1: about putting the bed in my other daughter's room because
- 10:38Speaker 1: we've got to take her bed out and I'll help
- 10:40Speaker 1: you when I get home. God, why did I do
- 10:43Speaker 1: that for in terms of, you know, saying help him? Yeah,
- 10:47Speaker 1: because we started doing it as soon as I got home,
- 10:49Speaker 1: and I immediately dropped the bed on my foot. Lots
- 10:53Speaker 1: of EFFI and Jeffery.
- 10:54Speaker 2: All that time at the gym. Jason, you're still weak
- 10:56Speaker 2: as playing.
- 10:57Speaker 1: I know, I kind of am, but I it's one
- 11:00Speaker 1: of those things where I lift it and I didn't
- 11:01Speaker 1: quite have a good enough you know, when beds are
- 11:03Speaker 1: quite awkward to.
- 11:04Speaker 2: Hold if you don't know what you're doing.
- 11:06Speaker 1: And yeah, just slapped and did foot but we got
- 11:09Speaker 1: it done.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Do that to yourself and aussy never Yeah, because I'm
- 11:14Speaker 2: a back.
- 11:15Speaker 3: Yeah I had one. How about this one? How about
- 11:18Speaker 3: this one? I'll be interesting to get your thoughts at radio.
- 11:23Speaker 3: Who's in the right and who's in the wrong. I
- 11:24Speaker 3: don't know if it is, maybe it might be. So
- 11:28Speaker 3: we get home, we're like, you know, a little bit
- 11:30Speaker 3: under the weather that it's been a busy day and
- 11:34Speaker 3: it's okay, what are we going to have for dinner?
- 11:36Speaker 3: Let's get uber eight.
- 11:38Speaker 2: So this is the oh yeah, no, I order it.
- 11:42Speaker 3: I order it, and then I tell the wife it's ready.
- 11:49Speaker 3: It's really the guy's here. She goes outside. The guy's
- 11:53Speaker 3: not there. Look at the app he is here. Oh no,
- 11:56Speaker 3: hang on a minute. I've had it delivered to entirely
- 11:58Speaker 3: the wrong place. So have had it delivered to Wellington
- 12:03Speaker 3: where where we picked our dog from up Swashies Actually Swashy.
- 12:09Speaker 3: Our mate was down at Swashy, so we met him
- 12:10Speaker 3: there to pick the dog up. So now the food's
- 12:12Speaker 3: been delivered to Swashy swash right. The guy won't, can't,
- 12:17Speaker 3: can't get the guy on the phone, any of that
- 12:18Speaker 3: sort of carry on. So anyway I send Now, this
- 12:21Speaker 3: is the question. I send the misses down to pick
- 12:23Speaker 3: it up. Should I be sending her down or because
- 12:26Speaker 3: it's my bugger up? Technically, should I began down to
- 12:28Speaker 3: get it?
- 12:29Speaker 1: You should be going down to get it?
- 12:30Speaker 3: Okay, Well, the truth is that she ordered it, she
- 12:32Speaker 3: buggered it up, and yet I was Yeah, I was
- 12:35Speaker 3: the one that had to go down and get it.
- 12:37Speaker 2: So how do you work it now? Should it should
- 12:40Speaker 2: have been me that picks it up? Or should it
- 12:41Speaker 2: be here?
- 12:41Speaker 1: It should be here?
- 12:42Speaker 2: No, it should be me.
- 12:43Speaker 3: And that situation for that is because if she goes
- 12:46Speaker 3: to pick it up and she gets it, God knows
- 12:48Speaker 3: what she's going to find at the other end. If
- 12:50Speaker 3: anybody's going to get killed, keysy, it should be me.
- 12:52Speaker 4: But also, yeah, there is that situation in our relationship.
- 12:55Speaker 2: I would always be the guy that picks it up.
- 12:58Speaker 2: That's just how it is.
- 12:59Speaker 4: Because it's been a shambles. You go sort it out,
- 13:03Speaker 4: whereas I did it. Oh, you've made this a mess.
- 13:05Speaker 4: Sort it out, sort out yourself. Yeah, exactly right. It's
- 13:07Speaker 4: such a weird thing. And that's just it's a dynamic
- 13:10Speaker 4: that you just understand. You've completely bagged it up. This
- 13:14Speaker 4: is going to be a ship show. I guess we'll
- 13:16Speaker 4: see you later. I'm just going to stay home.
- 13:18Speaker 2: Do you know.
- 13:18Speaker 3: It is a weird thing, but yes, and that's how
- 13:20Speaker 3: it goes. It's one of the things, that's one of
- 13:22Speaker 3: the things you get.
- 13:23Speaker 2: What would you have done, Jason?
- 13:24Speaker 1: I would have gone to get it. But we have
- 13:27Speaker 1: that thing like when we're picking our daughter up and
- 13:29Speaker 1: it's eleven o'clock at night and it's like I'll go babe,
- 13:33Speaker 1: and she'll go, no, no, you've been doing this and
- 13:35Speaker 1: this and this, and our going more than one. It's
- 13:38Speaker 1: not no. I can do it and I'll do it
- 13:42Speaker 1: biggywn and you look you're ready tired.
- 13:46Speaker 4: But you work in radio and do a four while
- 13:50Speaker 4: I'm actually doing a job that helps people.
- 13:52Speaker 1: Never weirdly enough never no.
- 13:56Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, she should, yeah, one hundred percent.
- 14:00Speaker 3: Because sometimes but then you'll bring up the dog squad
- 14:03Speaker 3: money and before you know.
- 14:05Speaker 1: It, it's been a busy couple of weeks. So she's
- 14:07Speaker 1: a bit more, you know. She gets four day weekends
- 14:10Speaker 1: every week, all right, yeah, and two half days, which
- 14:15Speaker 1: is still more than I work in a week.
- 14:19Speaker 4: And she's doing an actual proper job. Yes, hey, listen
- 14:22Speaker 4: to the Huducky Big Show four to seven. You listening
- 14:25Speaker 4: or watching on YouTube right now?
- 14:28Speaker 1: Thanks mate. Yeah,
