- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to Hawk Talk with former Seahawks wide receiver
- 0:04Speaker 1: Michael Bumpus. Powered by Seahawks.com. Now, here's your host, Nassau Chobie.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Welcome to another edition of Hawk Talk. We are back
- 0:13Speaker 1: short week as the Seahawks head to Mile High to
- 0:16Speaker 1: take on the Denver Broncos on Thursday Night Football. Fresh
- 0:19Speaker 1: off an unfortunate loss to those San Francisco 49ers.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Those dang Niners.
- 0:25Speaker 1: Oh, my board review again. It was rough, man. I'm
- 0:27Speaker 1: not going to lie to you. That was a hard
- 0:28Speaker 1: loss in Lumen Field. The first home loss in Lumen
- 0:30Speaker 1: Field since October 5th of 2025 against the Buccaneers. Seahawks
- 0:34Speaker 1: had won nine straight games. And there's not a lot
- 0:37Speaker 1: of ways to cut it, man. It was tough. That
- 0:39Speaker 1: was a game the Seahawks absolutely could have won, should
- 0:41Speaker 1: have won. Disappointing division opponent. But, you know, it is
- 0:45Speaker 1: what it is, man. They get paid, too. Yeah.
- 0:46Speaker 3: And they were, what, three and two last year at
- 0:49Speaker 3: the same time of year. So we know how last
- 0:52Speaker 3: year ended. So we can be optimistic. And that's kind
- 0:56Speaker 3: of what I'm leaning on. And I look at the team,
- 0:58Speaker 3: and they're not that far off. I'm like, look, one
- 1:00Speaker 3: play there, one play here. Clean that up. Whereas last year,
- 1:04Speaker 3: you're kind of guessing because you really don't know what
- 1:06Speaker 3: you have. Whereas this year, you know the personnel. You
- 1:08Speaker 3: know the coach. You know the staff. They're going to
- 1:11Speaker 3: fix this thing. Firmly believe that.
- 1:13Speaker 1: Oh, no question about it. I have all the faith
- 1:14Speaker 1: in the world. That's what made it that much more
- 1:16Speaker 1: disappointing is because you're like, these guys are right there.
- 1:19Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 1:20Speaker 1: They have yet to put a full four quarters together.
- 1:22Speaker 1: And I'd be scared about the rest of the NFL
- 1:24Speaker 1: once that happens because they are three and two. And
- 1:26Speaker 1: I promise you, you look at it more three or
- 1:29Speaker 1: four plays. They're five and no easily, but it is
- 1:32Speaker 1: what it is.
- 1:32Speaker 3: Then ESPN still has them fourth in their power rankings.
- 1:36Speaker 2: Yeah. Cause you're right.
- 1:36Speaker 1: Respect is fine. Is there, it's like, okay, we know
- 1:39Speaker 1: that this happened. I mean, even all the national people,
- 1:41Speaker 1: they're like, okay, even if you just look at the
- 1:43Speaker 1: Cooper cup play alone, that could have gone Seahawks way.
- 1:46Speaker 1: I mean, so, A lot at stake that happened there,
- 1:48Speaker 1: but let's get back into it. Before we look forward
- 1:50Speaker 1: to the Denver Broncos, we got to revisit what happened
- 1:53Speaker 1: against the Niners. What did happen?
- 1:57Speaker 3: See, what had happened was what had happened at first
- 1:59Speaker 3: was what had happened was on hot talk.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Man, the Seahawks need to find a way to start
- 2:05Speaker 1: a little bit better than they have the last couple weeks,
- 2:06Speaker 1: at least offensively. Not the way you want to go.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Second week in a row, Sam Darnold's first pass attempt
- 2:11Speaker 1: is picked off, giving the Niners an amazing field position.
- 2:13Speaker 1: Took just four plays for the 49ers to go 18 yards.
- 2:16Speaker 1: Brock Purdy connected with Mike Evans for a two-yard touchdown.
- 2:19Speaker 1: That made the score 7-0 to kick things off.
- 2:21Speaker 3: Yep, then the Hawks will go three and out on
- 2:23Speaker 3: their next possession. But we're given a gift as Jacob
- 2:27Speaker 3: Cowling will bear down.
- 2:29Speaker 2: University of Arizona. I see you, Curtis.
- 2:31Speaker 3: Muffed the punt after being hit by Nehemiah Pritchard, who
- 2:33Speaker 3: keeps making plays, man. And Eric Saubert recovered the fumble.
- 2:36Speaker 3: Emmanuel Wilson would find the end zone six plays later
- 2:39Speaker 3: with a two-yard run, which tied the game at 7-0.
- 2:42Speaker 3: And then the next three drives would end in punts.
- 2:44Speaker 3: Couldn't get things going. The Hawks would add a field
- 2:46Speaker 3: goal to go up 10-7.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Yeah, and then things started going real well again after
- 2:50Speaker 1: forcing another punt. Uh-oh, no. Disaster strikes. Emmanuel Wilson got
- 2:56Speaker 1: fumbled on the first play of that drive. Really good
- 2:58Speaker 1: play by Fred Warner. I mean, the peanut Tillman punch
- 3:01Speaker 1: is just all across the NFL. We saw it in
- 3:03Speaker 1: the Monday night game. You got to hold on to
- 3:05Speaker 1: the rock. Unfortunately, that popped out. Very next play, Christian
- 3:07Speaker 1: Caffrey found the end zone. 11-yard run. That made the
- 3:10Speaker 1: score 14-10. 49ers. The Seahawks would kick a field goal
- 3:14Speaker 1: in the next drive, helped out by a 15-yard penalty.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Late hit, Dre Greenlaw hit Sam Darnold out of bounds.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Then he head-butted Ernest Jones, who didn't have the helmet on.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Tremendous restraint by Ernest Jones and the rest of that
- 3:25Speaker 1: sideline to not swing on anybody after getting head-butted with
- 3:28Speaker 1: not having your helmet on. Greenlaw was ejected from the
- 3:31Speaker 1: game and suspended for a game after that for his
- 3:35Speaker 1: efforts there. Then after Seahawks punt, Seahawks would get pinned
- 3:38Speaker 1: deep in their own territory. and with 13 seconds in
- 3:42Speaker 1: the half bump. Holy smokes. George Lonnie, he fumbled the football,
- 3:45Speaker 1: recovered in the end zone for a 49ers touchdown. Not
- 3:49Speaker 1: the way you want to end the half.
- 3:50Speaker 2: Not at all.
- 3:51Speaker 3: If you hear raves call. The one thing you can't do,
- 3:54Speaker 3: you actually did. I thought there was no way. If anything,
- 3:57Speaker 3: I'm like, all right, it's safety. You know, maybe for safety,
- 4:00Speaker 3: you live to fight another day. All right, so then
- 4:02Speaker 3: the Niners will go into halftime. They're at 21-13. I'm
- 4:04Speaker 3: still feeling good, though. I'm thinking, all right, we get
- 4:06Speaker 3: the football. We'll be just fine. Second half didn't start
- 4:09Speaker 3: very well, though. Sam Darnold was picked off again by
- 4:11Speaker 3: Renato Green, having himself a day. Thankfully, the 49ers would
- 4:14Speaker 3: miss a field goal on the next drive. After Seahawks
- 4:17Speaker 3: field goal, Nehemiah Pritchett would pick off Brock Purdy, which
- 4:20Speaker 3: set up a 16-yard touchdown run by JSN.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Caught that thing, went inside. I was talking to somebody.
- 4:27Speaker 3: I said, the average receiver in the league would catch
- 4:30Speaker 3: and get north-south, get what you can. He caught, went inside,
- 4:32Speaker 3: and said, I'm trying to get this money, get this touchdown.
- 4:35Speaker 3: Ran that thing in. Great run after catch.
- 4:36Speaker 1: There's a great still shot if you look at it.
- 4:38Speaker 1: It's Fred Warner, Hall of Famer. You have Lenore in
- 4:41Speaker 1: the back. There's three Niners defenders. And then someone on
- 4:43Speaker 1: social media was like, JSN scores on this play. Because
- 4:47Speaker 1: he puts that move on Fred, gets inside, touchdown. Great
- 4:49Speaker 1: play by JSN. It's only a matter of time. You
- 4:51Speaker 1: can't bottle him up. He's going to make plays in
- 4:53Speaker 1: every single game, and he did there. The 49ers would
- 4:56Speaker 1: give the ball right back after Debo Samuel fumbled. Kind
- 4:58Speaker 1: of an awkward play. He went down, and he just
- 4:59Speaker 1: went motionless. It looks like the hamstring is hurting him,
- 5:02Speaker 1: so he's probably going to be out for a little bit. Unfortunately,
- 5:05Speaker 1: the Seahawks could not take advantage of great field position,
- 5:07Speaker 1: had to settle for a field goal. That made the
- 5:09Speaker 1: score 26-21. And then Bob, the 49ers put together probably
- 5:13Speaker 1: their only really good drive of the game. 12 plays,
- 5:16Speaker 1: 74 yards, ending with a seven-yard touchdown to Brandon Cooks.
- 5:19Speaker 1: Then Mike Evans would catch a two-point conversion. That made
- 5:22Speaker 1: the score 29-26, Niners. Yeah, and Hawks would answer with
- 5:27Speaker 1: a field goal. They tied it at 29.
- 5:28Speaker 3: So the 49ers would put together another drive and kick
- 5:31Speaker 3: a 44-yard field goal with 1-56 remaining. Making a score 32-29.
- 5:36Speaker 3: You got the ball. Let's see what you do. The
- 5:38Speaker 3: Hawks look like they had things going when Sam Darnold
- 5:41Speaker 3: connected with Jason for a 35-yard completion in the first down.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Fives are good. We're feeling good.
- 5:46Speaker 3: But you get to third and 10, and Jason dropped
- 5:49Speaker 3: a football that he will catch. I told you 9
- 5:52Speaker 3: out of 10 times. You're like, nah, 10 out of
- 5:53Speaker 3: 10 times. He's catching that football. That was unfortunate. And
- 5:57Speaker 3: then the fourth down comes by. You get Cooper Cupp
- 6:01Speaker 3: on the sideline. He's fighting for yards. He dives for it.
- 6:04Speaker 3: the first down marker, but there's an invisible window or
- 6:07Speaker 3: glass on the sideline, and as soon as that ball
- 6:10Speaker 3: touches that glass, it is out of bounds, so it's
- 6:12Speaker 3: not where he lands. It's where he crosses that little plane.
- 6:15Speaker 3: Different than the end zone. That would be all she wrote.
- 6:18Speaker 1: That being said, though, I think the whole play would
- 6:20Speaker 1: have been differently because, in my opinion, no one will
- 6:22Speaker 1: convince me this otherwise. I think the official thinks he
- 6:25Speaker 1: stepped out of bounds. That's why he immediately, just monsterfully
- 6:27Speaker 1: is like, nope, the other way. If he waits and
- 6:31Speaker 1: they spot the ball and they have a conversation... I
- 6:33Speaker 1: think the spot is different. It's semantics, right? That's not
- 6:37Speaker 1: why the Seahawks lost. I do think the Seahawks, I
- 6:40Speaker 1: don't think that was the right outcome of that play.
- 6:42Speaker 1: It is what it is. Because you can look at
- 6:44Speaker 1: other things. Even on that same play bump, if there
- 6:47Speaker 1: isn't pressure on Darnold, he hits Cooper Cup in stride.
- 6:50Speaker 1: It's an easy first down. That's just kind of how
- 6:53Speaker 1: the game went, and things didn't go the Seahawks' way.
- 6:56Speaker 1: After looking at the film, looking at all the plays...
- 6:59Speaker 1: knowing how many things that the Seahawks gift-wrapped to San Francisco,
- 7:03Speaker 1: what'd you learn about the Seahawks after week five?
- 7:05Speaker 3: I learned that somebody else needs to step up as
- 7:08Speaker 3: a pass catcher. We need a consistent number two. And
- 7:12Speaker 3: the running backs combined had six receptions, and Cooper Cupp
- 7:17Speaker 3: and Rasheed Shaheed had four. And a lot of that
- 7:19Speaker 3: was because of checkdowns, because there was nothing there. Sam's
- 7:21Speaker 3: getting in trouble. He got a check down, throws it
- 7:22Speaker 3: to the running back. But we're still looking for that guy,
- 7:25Speaker 3: you know?
- 7:26Speaker 2: It's going to be.
- 7:27Speaker 3: Cooper Cup, Rasheed Shaheed, or maybe even Torrey Horton. He
- 7:29Speaker 3: only got 11 snaps, but they're still searching for that
- 7:32Speaker 3: number two, that solidified number two.
- 7:35Speaker 1: Yeah, and that guy's on this team. That's the thing.
- 7:38Speaker 1: When we started this season, we were raving about the
- 7:42Speaker 1: opportunity to have Jason, Cooper Cup, Torrey Horton, and Rasheed
- 7:45Speaker 1: Shaheed on the field at the same time. Is A.J.
- 7:48Speaker 1: Barner going to step up and be the top tier
- 7:50Speaker 1: of tight ends in the league? Elijah Arroyo in his
- 7:53Speaker 1: second year, is he going to be? The talent's there.
- 7:55Speaker 1: I mean, look at Torrey Horton. I believe he has
- 7:57Speaker 1: 13 receptions or 14 or whatever in the league. Six
- 7:59Speaker 1: of them are touchdowns. Rashid Shaheed, we know that person
- 8:04Speaker 1: is there. It just hasn't come to fruition yet, so
- 8:06Speaker 1: I'm interested to see how that's going to go out there.
- 8:08Speaker 1: And I just learned, you know, this team will be
- 8:12Speaker 1: in every game. I knew that already, but it doesn't matter,
- 8:14Speaker 1: it seems like. The last two years, you can play
- 8:17Speaker 1: the worst game you can. You can turn the ball
- 8:18Speaker 1: over four or five times. We've seen it happen. And
- 8:21Speaker 1: in none of those games, usually when you turn the
- 8:22Speaker 1: ball over five times, okay. You just had a bad game,
- 8:24Speaker 1: got blown up by 25.
- 8:25Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a wrap.
- 8:26Speaker 1: Nope, even with the Rams last year, you have a
- 8:28Speaker 1: field goal to win. Each of these games, the Seahawks
- 8:30Speaker 1: are right there. So, like I said earlier, when they
- 8:34Speaker 1: figure this out, watch out. When all three phases of
- 8:36Speaker 1: the ball are playing at a high level together, it
- 8:39Speaker 1: can be dangerous for this team. Anyway, on Sunday, we
- 8:42Speaker 1: did see a lot of people making plays.
- 8:45Speaker 2: Touchdown, Seahawks! Playmakers.
- 8:49Speaker 1: Show them what.
- 8:51Speaker 2: Time it is!
- 8:53Speaker 1: Holy cow! Best in the world, Jason. Five receptions, 102 yards,
- 8:58Speaker 1: one touchdown. He also had to carry for 16 yards.
- 9:00Speaker 1: Also had to tackle because he didn't do it all. Jason,
- 9:03Speaker 1: the fourth player in NFL history with at least 100
- 9:05Speaker 1: receiving yards in a touchdown reception in four of his
- 9:07Speaker 1: team's first five games in a season, joining Pro Football
- 9:10Speaker 1: Hall of Famers Elroy Crazy Legs Hirsch. I know you
- 9:13Speaker 1: guys know about him. 1951 with the Los Angeles Rams.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Randy Moss, that historic 2007 season with the Patriots. And
- 9:20Speaker 1: Jerry Rice in 1989 with the Niners. Jason stepped up
- 9:25Speaker 1: to the podium, and here's another reason why I give
- 9:28Speaker 1: him a ton of credit. We all know if there's
- 9:31Speaker 1: any issues with this team, he's not one of them.
- 9:33Speaker 1: He didn't make one play on one ball that was tough.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Harder catch didn't look, but he knows he makes that
- 9:40Speaker 1: play a million times. He stepped up to the podium
- 9:42Speaker 1: and was the leader. Same with Sam. They don't run
- 9:44Speaker 1: from anything. They step up. That wasn't a day where
- 9:46Speaker 1: they run out the locker room and not talk to
- 9:48Speaker 1: the media. He's like, no, I'm going to own it,
- 9:49Speaker 1: and I'm going to take responsibility for it. something he
- 9:51Speaker 1: doesn't have to do because he's been a dog and
- 9:53Speaker 1: he's our best player on offense. Jackson continues to make
- 9:56Speaker 1: plays and we'll get into it later. If certain in those.
- 10:00Speaker 1: corners aren't healthy.
- 10:01Speaker 2: Oh, come on now. Not Jason and class act, man.
- 10:04Speaker 2: He knows. And he, he'll be fine.
- 10:08Speaker 1: Right?
- 10:09Speaker 2: Not worried about Jason at all. All right.
- 10:11Speaker 3: Ernest Jones, nine tackles, one TFL, one sack, one quarterback
- 10:13Speaker 3: hit one pass, defended in a great play on a
- 10:16Speaker 3: screen pass. And most importantly, he kept his cool in
- 10:18Speaker 3: the sideline. and didn't get himself in trouble. And you
- 10:21Speaker 3: know how hard it is for that team to see
- 10:23Speaker 3: their quarterback get hit late and get pushed all the
- 10:25Speaker 3: way to where the benches are, looking all discombobulated.
- 10:29Speaker 2: Everybody jumped on Greenlaw.
- 10:30Speaker 3: Ernest Jones, one of the first ones, getting his face,
- 10:32Speaker 3: kind of touches his helmet, but then, you know, backs up.
- 10:36Speaker 3: And Greenlaw, with his composed self, head-butted a man without
- 10:41Speaker 3: a helmet on, and he got ejected from the game.
- 10:44Speaker 1: Yeah, and, I mean, Ernest is the leader. I think
- 10:46Speaker 1: Kyle Collins on the huddle today, all these guys have
- 10:48Speaker 1: talked about that. and he sets the tone for that
- 10:51Speaker 1: side of the ball, and he's playing at a high level,
- 10:53Speaker 1: just like this other guy, Byron Murphy, man. Six tackles,
- 10:56Speaker 1: three TFLs, two sacks, three QB hits. Me and you
- 10:59Speaker 1: have been saying it for a long time. He should
- 11:00Speaker 1: have been an All-Pro last year. He's playing at that
- 11:02Speaker 1: level this year. Your America's Game of the Week. We're
- 11:05Speaker 1: going to have three straight primetime games in a row.
- 11:07Speaker 1: I think the rest of the country, if you don't know,
- 11:09Speaker 1: now you're going to know about Byron Murphy.
- 11:11Speaker 2: And he's doing it differently this year.
- 11:12Speaker 3: A little two-point stance he added to his game.
- 11:15Speaker 2: You know what I mean? I love it, man.
- 11:16Speaker 3: You can see the growth in Byron Murphy. How about
- 11:19Speaker 3: Nehemiah Pritchett? Huge hit on special teams that caused a
- 11:21Speaker 3: fumble and interception. He was solid in coverage. What was that,
- 11:25Speaker 3: two games in a row he has an interception? Two
- 11:28Speaker 3: of three, I think it is.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Two of three, yeah.
- 11:29Speaker 3: Like, Nehemiah has come a long way, right? A guy
- 11:32Speaker 3: who was just fighting to be on teams. Last year
- 11:35Speaker 3: does a bit better, and this year he's been called upon,
- 11:38Speaker 3: and they rely on him.
- 11:40Speaker 1: They can trust him, so good for Nehemiah. Yeah, no,
- 11:42Speaker 1: my brain got scrambled for a minute. He had an
- 11:43Speaker 1: interception against the Patriots in that first game.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Patriots, the first game.
- 11:46Speaker 1: First game and then last week. But, no, he's– I
- 11:48Speaker 1: love what I've seen from him because his trajectory has
- 11:51Speaker 1: gone this way. The Seahawks brought in all kinds of
- 11:53Speaker 1: people at his position. And what does he do? He
- 11:55Speaker 1: keeps finding a way to make plays and say, listen,
- 11:58Speaker 1: if I keep making plays, you're going to be on
- 12:00Speaker 1: the field. You keep finding your way around the football.
- 12:02Speaker 1: You promise you'll be on the field. So props to
- 12:04Speaker 1: Nehemiah there. And then Spoon. Four tackles, one TFL, one
- 12:07Speaker 1: pass defended. It might not look like his greatest game,
- 12:11Speaker 1: but the way he tackles people at his size.
- 12:13Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 12:14Speaker 1: And it's just when you see Spoon and someone else
- 12:16Speaker 1: in the open field, you're like, okay, you're confident he's
- 12:18Speaker 1: going to get him down. And Spoon just, he is
- 12:22Speaker 1: the firecracker. He's a starter. He's an igniter. And I'm
- 12:26Speaker 1: excited what we've seen from him so far this year.
- 12:28Speaker 3: He straight tossed Brock Purdy on one of them things.
- 12:31Speaker 3: Scrambling to the left side, just wrapped around, boom, to
- 12:34Speaker 3: the ground.
- 12:34Speaker 2: I'm like.
- 12:35Speaker 3: This dude plays like he's about 205, 210. He's about $ 1.
- 12:38Speaker 2: 75.
- 12:38Speaker 1: He'd be tossing everybody. Running backs. And just like, again,
- 12:41Speaker 1: from like, you look at his body type and you're like,
- 12:43Speaker 1: how are you doing this at the NFL level? Spoon
- 12:46Speaker 1: is amazing at what he does. That was unfortunate. Seahawks
- 12:49Speaker 1: lose the 49ers. They will see them again at the
- 12:51Speaker 1: end of November down there. Santa Clara, the place where
- 12:55Speaker 1: I believe they won the Super Bowl last year.
- 12:57Speaker 2: Yes, they did.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Is that correct?
- 12:58Speaker 2: Mm-hmm.
- 12:59Speaker 1: So Seahawks got their revenge there. I'm sure of it.
- 13:02Speaker 1: The 49ers are a great team. They're 5-0. So- We'll
- 13:05Speaker 1: see how their season continues, but we got to flip
- 13:07Speaker 1: our attention on a short week to the Denver Broncos.
- 13:10Speaker 1: What's on tap? What's on tap? Three and two second
- 13:15Speaker 1: place in the NFC or AFC West, excuse me, losses
- 13:18Speaker 1: to the chiefs in 49ers, but they beat the Jags
- 13:21Speaker 1: Rams and chargers Broncos talented roster 14, three last season,
- 13:25Speaker 1: just a game away. The Superbowl Bo Nix gets hurt,
- 13:28Speaker 1: breaks his ankle at the end of that divisional crazy
- 13:31Speaker 1: game against the Buffalo bills. They had to start Stidham.
- 13:33Speaker 1: They lose that game. Obviously, Patriots go to Super Bowl,
- 13:35Speaker 1: lose to the Seahawks. They had a lot of high
- 13:37Speaker 1: expectations coming into this season. Haven't quite lived up to them.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Despite their 3-2 record, there is a lot of noise
- 13:44Speaker 1: around Bo Nix, who we'll get into. Offensive, Sean Payton
- 13:48Speaker 1: retook the play calling duties. Never a great sign five
- 13:50Speaker 1: games into a season. They didn't set the world on
- 13:53Speaker 1: fire this last week against the Chargers, but they did
- 13:55Speaker 1: get the win.
- 13:56Speaker 2: Yeah, they did, man.
- 13:57Speaker 3: It was an interesting game, man. The turnovers were a
- 14:01Speaker 3: huge factor in this game, right? The Chargers turned the
- 14:03Speaker 3: ball over three times on Sunday. They were up 17-10
- 14:06Speaker 3: heading to the fourth. They faced a fourth and one
- 14:08Speaker 3: from their 41-yard line, and Herbert was stopped for no game.
- 14:11Speaker 2: Then things fell apart.
- 14:13Speaker 3: Broncos would take advantage of the short field with a
- 14:15Speaker 3: Cortland Sutton touchdown.
- 14:16Speaker 2: They tied it at 17.
- 14:17Speaker 3: Then two plays later, Herbert was sacked and fumbled the ball,
- 14:21Speaker 3: and the Broncos would turn that into three points.
- 14:24Speaker 1: Yeah, and it continued on the next drive. Herbert with
- 14:26Speaker 1: an interception. Pass intended for our old friend Marquez Valdez-Scantling.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Broncos would add another field goal and end the ballgame. Chargers.
- 14:34Speaker 2: Hey, trade Herbert. Trade him. To who? I don't know.
- 14:38Speaker 2: Somebody out there need a quarterback. Trade him.
- 14:40Speaker 1: I mean.
- 14:41Speaker 2: Get him out of there.
- 14:42Speaker 1: They were supposed to compete for the division.
- 14:44Speaker 2: He needs a fresh start.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Man.
- 14:45Speaker 2: Not midseason. I'm talking about when season's over. Listen, I
- 14:48Speaker 2: don't know, man. Get him out of there, man.
- 14:50Speaker 1: There's going to be some soul searching because Harbaugh's a
- 14:51Speaker 1: good coach, but 0-5 is not.
- 14:53Speaker 3: If they have a top five pick, you trade him
- 14:57Speaker 3: and you get one of these young quarterbacks coming out.
- 14:58Speaker 3: Let Harbaugh work his magic with a new guy.
- 15:00Speaker 2: Interesting.
- 15:01Speaker 1: You heard it here first. We'll check back in. Bo Nix, 16-27, 123,
- 15:07Speaker 1: a touchdown, zero interceptions, did lose a fumble. Yeah, it's
- 15:10Speaker 1: not great. Their offense is, if you listen to, I
- 15:14Speaker 1: listened to a little bit of Denver talk radio this week. Oh,
- 15:18Speaker 1: my God. You would think they're on five.
- 15:20Speaker 2: Oh, really?
- 15:21Speaker 1: I mean, the conversation around Bo Nix is insane. I mean,
- 15:24Speaker 1: I've watched him a little bit. There's obviously some struggles there, but, wow,
- 15:27Speaker 1: it is not positive enough. What's going down there? But
- 15:30Speaker 1: let's flip ahead to this head-to-head matchup. Offensively, both teams
- 15:33Speaker 1: kind of middle of the pack to back. Seahawks are
- 15:36Speaker 1: 17th in total offense, 17th in rush offense, 16th in
- 15:39Speaker 1: pass offense, and 8th in points per game at 26.
- 15:42Speaker 1: Looking at the Broncos, they are 30th in total offense,
- 15:45Speaker 1: averaging 269 yards a game, 25th in the run, 25th
- 15:49Speaker 1: in the pass, 26 in points per game at 19.4.
- 15:52Speaker 1: So they are struggling to put up points offensively.
- 15:55Speaker 3: And on the defensive side, the Hawks are second overall,
- 15:57Speaker 3: 11th against the run, second against the pass, and ninth
- 16:00Speaker 3: when it comes to points allowed. This Broncos defense, who
- 16:03Speaker 3: we thought was going to be really good following up
- 16:05Speaker 3: from last year, but injuries and whatnot obviously didn't help.
- 16:08Speaker 3: They are 22nd overall, 29th against the run, 9th against
- 16:13Speaker 3: the pass, and 14th when it comes to points allowed,
- 16:15Speaker 3: allowing 22.2.
- 16:18Speaker 2: Things are a bit different for Denver this year.
- 16:20Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean... You go from they're 14-3 last year,
- 16:24Speaker 1: but people forget they won a crazy amount of one-score games.
- 16:27Speaker 1: A lot of crazy finishes. Now you play a first-place
- 16:30Speaker 1: schedule harder. Obviously, much harder schedule. I mean, they're in
- 16:35Speaker 1: decent shape. They're 3-2. It's not like they're out of it,
- 16:37Speaker 1: but it's definitely not the start, especially when you think
- 16:40Speaker 1: you have your franchise quarterback and you have Sean Payton,
- 16:43Speaker 1: who's an offensive guru, hands the play, calling duties off.
- 16:46Speaker 1: And that's got to be tough to just then come
- 16:48Speaker 1: back to work knowing that that was your job and
- 16:50Speaker 1: essentially take it from you. It's not a great situation there, obviously, offensively.
- 16:55Speaker 1: So we'll see how that kind of continues this week
- 16:57Speaker 1: against a good Seahawks defense. These teams are both AFC
- 17:02Speaker 1: West rivals from back in the day. Let's know the history.
- 17:05Speaker 2: Know your history.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Broncos, they lead the all-time series 35-23. Seahawks have a
- 17:11Speaker 1: 2-0 advantage in the playoffs. We know one of those
- 17:13Speaker 1: was the Super Bowl XLVIII. Old rivals from the AFC
- 17:16Speaker 1: West don't play anymore every four or so years. But
- 17:21Speaker 1: the Seahawks have won four of the last five games
- 17:24Speaker 1: in this matchup. Last game was the start of the
- 17:27Speaker 1: 2024 season, which was the beginning of the Mike McDonald era.
- 17:30Speaker 1: That was also the beginning of the Bo Nix era.
- 17:33Speaker 1: That day, the Seahawks won that game 26-20. Kind of
- 17:36Speaker 1: a weird game. They had to overcome two safeties in
- 17:38Speaker 1: that game. Geno Smith threw an interception. He had a
- 17:41Speaker 1: decent day, 18-25, 171. One touchdown, one pick. He also
- 17:45Speaker 1: had like a 34-yard rushing touchdown, which I think was
- 17:48Speaker 1: by far the longest of his career. Ken Walker at
- 17:51Speaker 1: 103 yards and 20 carries in touchdown. Zach Charbonnet added
- 17:53Speaker 1: a 30-yard touchdown reception. Tyler Lockett, six receptions, 77 yards.
- 17:58Speaker 1: And Julian Love, little defensive player with 12 tackles, a TFL,
- 18:01Speaker 1: and a pick. Bo Nix in his first NFL game
- 18:05Speaker 1: was 26-42, 138-0 touchdowns and two interceptions. Hope to see
- 18:09Speaker 1: a little bit more of the same. Very interesting to
- 18:12Speaker 1: read some of those names because that feels like now
- 18:14Speaker 1: like 50 years ago.
- 18:15Speaker 2: It does, man. It does.
- 18:16Speaker 3: What's up, Tyler Lockett? Hope retirement is good. Did he
- 18:19Speaker 3: officially retire yet?
- 18:21Speaker 1: I believe so. The only thing, I mean, I don't
- 18:23Speaker 1: know if he officially put it out there, but I've
- 18:25Speaker 1: seen him doing his thing. He had a really cool
- 18:26Speaker 1: social media video where he is like got some like
- 18:29Speaker 1: VR glasses on and he's like selling a house. But
- 18:32Speaker 1: like through receipt. Anyway, Tyler Lockett always doing his thing.
- 18:35Speaker 1: One of our favorites throughout the years. Let's see what's
- 18:38Speaker 1: going on in the NFC West.
- 18:39Speaker 2: What's the word?
- 18:43Speaker 1: Westside!
- 18:43Speaker 2: Where my soldiers at?
- 18:45Speaker 1: Westside!
- 18:45Speaker 2: And the Seahawks are the NFC West champs again.
- 18:47Speaker 3: What's the word in the West on Hawk Talk? Those
- 18:52Speaker 3: day niners on top of the division right now. 5-0,
- 18:55Speaker 3: Hawks right behind them, 3-2. The Rams behind them, 2-3.
- 18:58Speaker 3: And the Cardinals are 1-4. Let's visit this Bills-Rams game. Man,
- 19:04Speaker 3: the Bills, West Coast tripping. I think they got the
- 19:06Speaker 3: Chargers next.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Yeah, they're staying.
- 19:07Speaker 3: So they're staying out there. But, man, outside of the
- 19:10Speaker 3: Seahawks game, this was the best game of the week.
- 19:12Speaker 3: It was a crazy back and forth game that saw
- 19:15Speaker 3: six straight touchdown drives in the second half, including the
- 19:18Speaker 3: Rams tying the game with five seconds left in regulation.
- 19:21Speaker 2: The game went to overtime with the Rams winning the toss.
- 19:23Speaker 3: The bills took the ball and Josh Allen connected with
- 19:26Speaker 3: Khalil Shakir for 57 yard game. It looked like it
- 19:30Speaker 3: was going to be a touchdown, but he just barely
- 19:33Speaker 3: got tripping on the next play.
- 19:34Speaker 2: James could fumble the ball, giving the ball right back
- 19:36Speaker 2: to the Rams.
- 19:38Speaker 1: At this moment. I think anyone who's a Seahawks fan
- 19:41Speaker 1: or anyone who just watches the Bills goes, I knew it.
- 19:45Speaker 1: I knew it. Bills are going to blow it again,
- 19:47Speaker 1: just like they always do in these situations. Big games
- 19:49Speaker 1: are going to. find a way to lose. Coming into
- 19:51Speaker 1: that game, Josh Allen was 0-7 in overtime games leading
- 19:54Speaker 1: into it, but not so fast. Stafford leads them right
- 19:59Speaker 1: down the field. They go to kick a field goal.
- 20:01Speaker 1: It is blocked by Greg Russo. Then Josh Allen, they
- 20:04Speaker 1: get the ball back, takes the game into his hands.
- 20:05Speaker 1: Two big QB runs, sets up a Tyler Bass game-winning
- 20:09Speaker 1: field goal. And they found a game that they usually
- 20:11Speaker 1: always lose. Now, it's the regular season. For them, they're unfortunately,
- 20:16Speaker 1: at this point, he can only be judged what he
- 20:18Speaker 1: does in the playoffs. It's almost like these games don't matter,
- 20:20Speaker 1: even though they do. But might be a huge confidence
- 20:22Speaker 1: builder there. I mean, if you're Cook and you fumble
- 20:25Speaker 1: twice and you watch that happen, and Josh Allen just
- 20:28Speaker 1: did his thing. Cook, he ran for 111 yards, two tuds,
- 20:31Speaker 1: but two fumbles there. Stafford, he went crazy stat-wise. 40, 54, 383,
- 20:34Speaker 1: three touchdowns. Now thrown for 150 touchdowns and two touchdowns.
- 20:40Speaker 1: For two franchises, only QB to ever do that.
- 20:42Speaker 2: And Puka did his thing, too. Yeah.
- 20:44Speaker 3: Puka, career high, 17 receptions for 138. I think their
- 20:48Speaker 3: franchise record was 19. I can't say that I wasn't
- 20:51Speaker 3: low-key hoping he got it just to see a receiver
- 20:53Speaker 3: do his thing.
- 20:54Speaker 2: And he had a touchdown.
- 20:55Speaker 3: Devontae had two touchdowns reception. That's all he does. And
- 20:58Speaker 3: the Rams will host the 1-4 Cardinals on Sunday. So
- 21:03Speaker 3: they'll probably improve to 3-3.
- 21:06Speaker 1: I would assume so.
- 21:07Speaker 2: But you never know.
- 21:08Speaker 1: That's why you play the games. I think... For everyone,
- 21:10Speaker 1: the Rams, we can see the talent. But for everyone
- 21:13Speaker 1: anointing them champs, I'll say each and every week, you
- 21:15Speaker 1: can't win a Super Bowl in June. So it's just
- 21:18Speaker 1: interesting to me, man, because I just want to see
- 21:19Speaker 1: how they handle adversity as the year goes on. They
- 21:22Speaker 1: have an easier stretch on paper for the next four
- 21:25Speaker 1: or five weeks. So we'll keep a close eye on
- 21:27Speaker 1: what the Seahawks or what the Rams are doing. Seahawks
- 21:29Speaker 1: will not play them until Christmas Day. So a long time.
- 21:32Speaker 1: A lot of things would happen before that matchup. You
- 21:35Speaker 1: mentioned the Cardinals. The Lions came down to Arizona, and
- 21:38Speaker 1: they put a whooping on them. Being a 45-21, they
- 21:41Speaker 1: were losing by 31 points at one point. And the
- 21:44Speaker 1: crazy thing is they marched right down the field and scored.
- 21:46Speaker 1: They were up 7-0 to start this game. Would end
- 21:49Speaker 1: up getting outscored 45-14 the rest of the way. Brissette
- 21:53Speaker 1: threw three touchdowns, almost 300 yards. He had an interception.
- 21:55Speaker 1: Decent day for him. Love, he isn't putting up the
- 21:59Speaker 1: numbers that you would have hoped for at that high
- 22:00Speaker 1: draft pick. 12 carries, 22 yards. Trey McBride's still doing
- 22:04Speaker 1: his thing. He'll be an all-pro. He'll stack up all
- 22:06Speaker 1: the numbers. His team is going to win a lot
- 22:08Speaker 1: of games, though. Nine receptions, 66 yards, and a touchdown.
- 22:11Speaker 1: And then Marvin Harrison bump. Thoughts on the Marvin Harrison trade?
- 22:15Speaker 2: I like it. I said it.
- 22:17Speaker 1: For both?
- 22:17Speaker 3: I said get out of here. Yeah, I think he
- 22:19Speaker 3: just needed a new spot, and then what? Arizona gets
- 22:21Speaker 3: a second-round pick, which might be a high pick for them.
- 22:24Speaker 1: You know what I mean?
- 22:25Speaker 3: Might be like 37 or something like that. So I
- 22:28Speaker 3: think both teams needed this, right? Texas needed a receiver.
- 22:32Speaker 3: Arizona needed just that energy out the locker room, and
- 22:35Speaker 3: they get a second-round pick.
- 22:36Speaker 2: I think it worked out for both teams.
- 22:38Speaker 1: Just weird to me though i just feel like when
- 22:40Speaker 1: especially when the floor took over i was like okay
- 22:41Speaker 1: i thought that was the fresh start he needed but
- 22:44Speaker 1: obviously things were still not working down there in the
- 22:47Speaker 1: desert hate to see it but we'll see how marvin
- 22:49Speaker 1: harrison continues the pressure's on man because all your ohio
- 22:53Speaker 1: state buddies are either pro bowlers.
- 22:55Speaker 2: Or all pros olave jsn um.
- 22:59Speaker 1: Anyone who's in the room um garrett wilson garrett wilson
- 23:03Speaker 1: um What's his name that played in Detroit? I mean,
- 23:05Speaker 1: there's just all these different guys that are in the
- 23:06Speaker 1: room at one point. I mean, it's unreal.
- 23:08Speaker 2: And Jeremiah Smith is on his way.
- 23:11Speaker 1: I think so. Yeah. To win a Heisman maybe.
- 23:13Speaker 2: Yeah, for real. Come on now. He nice, nice.
- 23:16Speaker 1: That water up there in Columbus is something else. But
- 23:19Speaker 1: let's flip our attention back to these Denver Broncos. Time
- 23:22Speaker 1: to man up. Hey, who you got?
- 23:24Speaker 2: Who you got?
- 23:25Speaker 1: You know what time it is.
- 23:25Speaker 2: Man up.
- 23:26Speaker 1: Man up, brother.
- 23:27Speaker 2: Man up.
- 23:27Speaker 1: Man up on Hawk Talk. He's been a lightning rod
- 23:30Speaker 1: for controversy right now. Bo Nix taking on the Seahawks defense.
- 23:34Speaker 1: Nix is in his third season as starting quarterback for
- 23:36Speaker 1: the Broncos, drafted in the first round of the 2024 draft,
- 23:39Speaker 1: when about a million QBs won in that first round.
- 23:42Speaker 1: As a rookie, threw for 3,777 yards, 29 touchdowns, 12 interceptions,
- 23:44Speaker 1: also had 430 yards on the ground, four touchdowns. Last year,
- 23:46Speaker 1: very similar, 3,931 yards, 25 touchdowns, 11 interceptions, 350-plus rushing yards,
- 23:48Speaker 1: and five touchdowns. That effort took them to the AFC
- 24:00Speaker 1: Championship game like we talked about. They had won their
- 24:02Speaker 1: first AFC West title since 2015, and the Chiefs had
- 24:05Speaker 1: won nine in a row at that point. But right
- 24:08Speaker 1: now the heat is on. Like I mentioned, people are
- 24:10Speaker 1: all over him right now. You listen to Denver's Poor
- 24:12Speaker 1: Stock Radio. You listen to ESPN, Dan Arlosky. He's what
- 24:15Speaker 1: he said about Bo Nix. He said, here's the thing.
- 24:17Speaker 1: Bo is one read panic. What I mean is if
- 24:21Speaker 1: the number one option isn't there, if the number one
- 24:24Speaker 1: option is there, he's cool. If it's not, he starts
- 24:26Speaker 1: to panic. Not good. So you have all these different
- 24:29Speaker 1: people analyzing what they're seeing from him. Mind you, he's
- 24:32Speaker 1: coming off an injury. So that's another factor we have
- 24:34Speaker 1: to think about it. And his numbers aren't just, like, god-awful,
- 24:37Speaker 1: but they're not great. 97 to 162, 942 yards, six touchdowns,
- 24:41Speaker 1: three interceptions. But you would think he's throwing 100 the
- 24:45Speaker 1: way people are talking about him right now. We watched him.
- 24:48Speaker 1: If you were from this area, you saw him in
- 24:49Speaker 1: Oregon for a while. He was at Auburn. He's been around.
- 24:53Speaker 1: I think he's 27 or 26, 27 years old at
- 24:55Speaker 1: this point. So it'll be interesting to see what the
- 24:57Speaker 1: Seahawks can do. And if you are struggling, this is
- 25:00Speaker 1: not the defense you want to see, especially at guys
- 25:02Speaker 1: like Byron Murphy on that defense. So let's see what happens, man.
- 25:05Speaker 3: Murphy's doing his thing. Of course, Leo is being violent
- 25:09Speaker 3: in there. And the Hawks, man, they're ninth in scoring defense, right?
- 25:12Speaker 2: Allowing 21 points per game.
- 25:13Speaker 3: And they are second in passing defense line, 150 yards
- 25:16Speaker 3: per game. Should be a rough day for Bo Nix,
- 25:18Speaker 3: but you never know. Got to play those games. All right,
- 25:20Speaker 3: let's talk about our quarterback, Sam Darnold, against his Broncos defense.
- 25:23Speaker 3: He's not coming off his best performance. He was 18
- 25:26Speaker 3: of 29, a buck 95, one touchdown, two interceptions. He
- 25:29Speaker 3: was also sacked a season high five times. I think
- 25:32Speaker 3: that's the most he's been sacked as a Seahawk, honestly.
- 25:35Speaker 3: So far in 2026, he's completing 64% of his passes
- 25:38Speaker 3: for 755 yards, seven touchdowns, and an early five interceptions.
- 25:44Speaker 3: His QB rating is 90.3, and he's been sacked nine
- 25:47Speaker 3: times on the season. Got to clean some things up, man,
- 25:50Speaker 3: but I think– We have good reason to believe Donald
- 25:53Speaker 3: could have a big game against the Broncos. The Broncos
- 25:56Speaker 3: are ninth in pass defense, allowing 202 yards per game,
- 25:59Speaker 3: but they're missing two of their top corners. Got Riley Moss,
- 26:02Speaker 3: who let the NFL pass a defendant in 2025-19.
- 26:05Speaker 2: He's dealing with a rib.
- 26:06Speaker 3: And then the Broncos have also been without four-time Pro
- 26:09Speaker 3: Bowler and two-time first-team All-Pro Patrick Sertain. So this could
- 26:13Speaker 3: be an opportunity. You know, missing some guys, take advantage.
- 26:15Speaker 3: But in the day, it's about you. Good decisions, catch
- 26:18Speaker 3: the football, but you can't take advantage of a situation.
- 26:21Speaker 1: Yeah, it looks like Moss was limited earlier in the week.
- 26:23Speaker 1: Sertain did not practice on Monday and Tuesday. So we'll
- 26:27Speaker 1: see what happens moving forward. Obviously, if he's not out there,
- 26:29Speaker 1: it's a big advantage to the Seahawks. But you mentioned
- 26:31Speaker 1: Darnold had been sacked five times bump. He's been pressured
- 26:34Speaker 1: on 42.7% of his dropbacks, fifth highest in the NFL.
- 26:38Speaker 1: He's also been hit more than any other quarterback 20%
- 26:41Speaker 1: of the time. So that needs to get corrected this week.
- 26:44Speaker 1: I think it's a collective effort offensively for everyone to
- 26:48Speaker 1: play a little better run game offensive line. But it's there.
- 26:51Speaker 1: We've seen it. It is a proven track record, like
- 26:54Speaker 1: you've been saying all week, why we're not concerned. Everyone
- 26:57Speaker 1: on that offense, you're only missing Anthony Bradford in terms
- 27:00Speaker 1: of the offensive line coming back, right? The receivers, they're
- 27:03Speaker 1: going to be fine. They just got to put it
- 27:05Speaker 1: together on, I was going to say Sunday, hopefully on Thursday.
- 27:08Speaker 1: So we'll see there. Looking at the running game for
- 27:11Speaker 1: the Broncos, J.K. Dobbins, he set a rough, rough go
- 27:15Speaker 1: to start his career. Six seasons in the NFL, really
- 27:17Speaker 1: had a promising rookie season. and then just a slew
- 27:20Speaker 1: of injuries, like Torres ACL and meniscus, Torres Achilles, sprains ACL,
- 27:24Speaker 1: had a list, Frank. Back to back. I mean, it's
- 27:27Speaker 1: been brutal. And during his time, he's three years with
- 27:29Speaker 1: the Ravens, one year with the Chargers, two seasons with
- 27:32Speaker 1: the Broncos. Solid player when healthy so far. He has
- 27:34Speaker 1: been healthy for him, knock on wood, playing all five games.
- 27:37Speaker 1: Rushed with 229 in a touchdown, so nothing to set
- 27:39Speaker 1: the world on fire. But he's the only one doing it.
- 27:42Speaker 1: RJ Harvey only has 56 rushing yards. He's the next closest.
- 27:45Speaker 1: Broncos ranked 25th in rushing yards. Bo Nix is usually
- 27:49Speaker 1: a factor in their run game as well. But I'm
- 27:52Speaker 1: saying advantage Seahawks. Seahawks have not allowed a 100-yard rusher
- 27:55Speaker 1: franchise record 31 consecutive games, 34 including the playoffs. And
- 27:59Speaker 1: I think this is a matchup where you shut down
- 28:02Speaker 1: the run, you make it hard on Bo Nix, it
- 28:04Speaker 1: could be a long day for them.
- 28:05Speaker 3: Yeah, it could be, man. He's still a young quarterback, right?
- 28:08Speaker 3: He's still trying to figure some things out. So confuse
- 28:10Speaker 3: the young man. Put some pressure on him. Let's talk
- 28:12Speaker 3: about their receivers. Jalen Waddell, who they traded a lot for.
- 28:15Speaker 3: Cortland Sutton. and Evan Ingram against the Seahawks secondary. The
- 28:19Speaker 3: Broncos made a big splash this offseason, trading for Jalen Waddell.
- 28:22Speaker 3: Waddell was the sixth overall pick in 2021 and has
- 28:26Speaker 3: recorded three 1,000-yard seasons in his first five years in
- 28:30Speaker 3: the league, including a career-high 1,356 yards and eight touchdowns
- 28:34Speaker 3: in 2022. Waddell is one of 16 players in the
- 28:37Speaker 3: NFL to record at least 1,000 yards seasons since 2021.
- 28:42Speaker 3: Waddle has recorded 58 catches, 744 yards in each of
- 28:46Speaker 3: his first five NFL seasons and caught 64 passes for
- 28:50Speaker 3: 690 and six touchdowns in 2025.
- 28:53Speaker 2: So far, the year has been good for Waddle.
- 28:55Speaker 3: He's been all right. He's the leading receiver over there.
- 28:57Speaker 3: 18 receptions, 204 yards, one touchdown. But he's a guy
- 29:01Speaker 3: who can get you. He's one of the fastest guys
- 29:03Speaker 3: in the league. We saw him when he was with
- 29:05Speaker 3: Miami a few years ago. He's had his moments. So, yeah,
- 29:09Speaker 3: you got to watch him. And then The OG Corlin Sutton.
- 29:12Speaker 3: I can't believe we're calling him an OG already. How
- 29:14Speaker 3: long has he been in the league?
- 29:15Speaker 1: Well, when you've been in the league nine years, you
- 29:16Speaker 1: get to be OG.
- 29:17Speaker 2: Is he SMU?
- 29:19Speaker 1: Yes. I'm pretty sure. Shout out, Jim Mueller. 3,000-yard season
- 29:25Speaker 1: in the NFL. He's gotten in the Pro Bowl twice,
- 29:27Speaker 1: including last season. Last year, 74 for 1,017. Seven touchdowns.
- 29:32Speaker 1: Big target. Makes some plays on the football. But when
- 29:34Speaker 1: you look through their numbers, I mean, it makes sense
- 29:37Speaker 1: why people are questioning So 11 receptions, 104 yards, one
- 29:40Speaker 1: touchdown between the two. These are both pro bowl guys
- 29:43Speaker 1: in the production. Just hasn't been there. We're not seeing
- 29:45Speaker 1: it through the air and in the past game. So
- 29:47Speaker 1: you definitely see some frustration there probably. And then Evan Ingram,
- 29:50Speaker 1: I know he's a tight end, but he's in his
- 29:51Speaker 1: 10th season. So another guy who's, who has, has a
- 29:54Speaker 1: lot of receptions in this league, he's at least 400
- 29:56Speaker 1: receiving yards in eight of nine seasons. Pro Bowl or twice.
- 29:59Speaker 1: So far this year, 10 receptions, 121, one touchdown. A
- 30:02Speaker 1: lot of their guys are in that realm. So this
- 30:06Speaker 1: group hasn't put up good numbers, but they have the
- 30:07Speaker 1: talent to do it. They're getting ready for this game. Seahawks,
- 30:11Speaker 1: we know, have the second-best pass defense in the NFL
- 30:13Speaker 1: on just 150 yards per game. So it should be
- 30:15Speaker 1: an interesting matchup again. I think advantage Seahawks on that one.
- 30:18Speaker 2: Yeah, man.
- 30:19Speaker 3: Line them up. Knock them down. Let's get it. Let's
- 30:22Speaker 3: talk about our receivers. Jason, Cooper Cupp, Rasheed Shaheed. Of course,
- 30:26Speaker 3: we know last week with Jason did five for 102,
- 30:29Speaker 3: a touchdown, a carry for 16, and a play he
- 30:32Speaker 3: wishes he could have had back over the shoulder, a
- 30:34Speaker 3: little post, corner, just couldn't get his hands on it.
- 30:37Speaker 3: Through four weeks here is where Jason is ranked in
- 30:40Speaker 3: the NFL. Receiving yards first, receiving touchdowns first, longest reception first,
- 30:45Speaker 3: receiving yards per game first, yards per touch first, and
- 30:48Speaker 3: a humble fifth when it comes to yards from scrimmage.
- 30:52Speaker 1: Is that okay?
- 30:54Speaker 2: I will accept that.
- 30:55Speaker 1: To add off that bump, I just saw this from NextGenStats.
- 30:58Speaker 1: Jason's accounted for 49% of the Seahawks receiving yards this year.
- 31:02Speaker 1: Highest share by any player through Week 5 since at
- 31:04Speaker 1: least 2016. That's when NextGen started tracking this stuff. So
- 31:08Speaker 1: Jason is obviously out of this world. And again, if
- 31:11Speaker 1: their corners aren't out there, could we see 200? I
- 31:15Speaker 1: said it.
- 31:16Speaker 2: I don't know. Does he have a 200-yard game?
- 31:18Speaker 1: He has a very close.
- 31:20Speaker 2: The Rams?
- 31:21Speaker 1: Very close. But I think it was like high 180s. Yeah.
- 31:25Speaker 2: I think it was the Rams.
- 31:26Speaker 3: All right, so now we got Cooper Cupp, 11 for 129,
- 31:30Speaker 3: one touchdown. He needs two yards to become the 97th
- 31:33Speaker 3: player in NFL history with 8,500 career receiving yards.
- 31:38Speaker 2: Did you find it? It's loading.
- 31:39Speaker 1: I was going to let you know. You're thinking of
- 31:42Speaker 1: the Rams game in 2024. He dropped a pass early
- 31:45Speaker 1: and fumbled, but then went off, and that was when
- 31:47Speaker 1: DK and them were still here. I'm still thinking that,
- 31:49Speaker 1: but I'm just, you know, on the internet.
- 31:51Speaker 2: All right. So let's go to Rasheed Shaheed.
- 31:53Speaker 3: He has three carries for 37 yards and a touchdown,
- 31:55Speaker 3: nine receptions for 96. Somebody other than Jason needs to
- 32:00Speaker 3: step up. I don't care who it is.
- 32:01Speaker 2: Amy Cooper Cup, Rasheed Shaheed, Torrey Horton, A.J.
- 32:04Speaker 1: Barner.
- 32:05Speaker 2: It don't matter.
- 32:06Speaker 3: There's too much talent for there to be such a
- 32:08Speaker 3: drop-off in production with Jason is not doing it. This
- 32:11Speaker 3: might be the week if Sertan and Moss are not
- 32:15Speaker 3: playing on Thursday.
- 32:16Speaker 1: Absolutely. Absolutely. To update you on that, yes, it is
- 32:18Speaker 1: that Rams game we were thinking of, that overtime loss
- 32:21Speaker 1: in 2024. He had 180 yards that game. He has,
- 32:25Speaker 1: I believe now he has 16 games of over 100 yards.
- 32:29Speaker 1: That's crazy. He's got another 96, 96, 95, 93, 94.
- 32:32Speaker 1: I mean, his numbers are pretty insane, but you never know.
- 32:38Speaker 1: I'm just feeling like we're going to get a big
- 32:39Speaker 1: game from Jason. But to your point, though, like everyone's
- 32:42Speaker 1: been saying for a long time, someone else needs to
- 32:45Speaker 1: And not that guys are trying to. It just needs
- 32:46Speaker 1: to come to fruition, right? Everything needs to happen. You know,
- 32:49Speaker 1: as a receiver, obviously, who am I telling? O-line's got
- 32:52Speaker 1: to block. Sam's got to see it. Play's got to...
- 32:54Speaker 1: All of these different things got to happen. I have
- 32:56Speaker 1: to see for that to happen. So hopefully that'll get
- 32:58Speaker 1: done this week because these guys are too talented for
- 33:01Speaker 1: it not to happen. So I'm excited to see what
- 33:03Speaker 1: the Seahawks can do. I feel like even though this
- 33:05Speaker 1: is a very good Broncos team, I feel like this
- 33:07Speaker 1: could be a get-right game for the Seahawks. And it
- 33:10Speaker 1: would be huge to get right with... A little bit
- 33:12Speaker 1: of a mini-bye before you play the Kansas City Chiefs
- 33:15Speaker 1: on Sunday Night Football, which brings us to the end
- 33:17Speaker 1: of the podcast, Path to Victory. How did Seahawks get
- 33:19Speaker 1: it done? At the 45, waits for the snap.
- 33:24Speaker 2: Michael Dixon puts it down.
- 33:25Speaker 1: That kick is away. And that kick is good! The
- 33:29Speaker 1: Seahawks win! It's good! It's a path to victory on
- 33:33Speaker 1: Hawk Talk. First and foremost, Bump, take care of the football.
- 33:36Speaker 1: That's the number one thing. The Seahawks have given away
- 33:39Speaker 1: the ball nine times this season. That's tied for fourth
- 33:42Speaker 1: most in the NFL. Thankfully, the Seahawks lead the NFL
- 33:44Speaker 1: in takeaways with 11 to bounce that thing out. Seahawks
- 33:47Speaker 1: have given up 45 points off of turnovers in the
- 33:50Speaker 1: last three games, including two defensive scores. This can't continue.
- 33:53Speaker 1: And you take those away, the Seahawks are blowing teams out.
- 33:57Speaker 3: And then start fast, please. The Seahawks have only scored
- 34:00Speaker 3: first in one game this year. And that was against
- 34:03Speaker 3: the Cardinals. The Hawks have played from behind in every
- 34:06Speaker 3: other game. It's hard to win that way consistently. And JSN,
- 34:10Speaker 3: keep being JSN. And like we mentioned, someone else, help
- 34:14Speaker 3: out JSN.
- 34:16Speaker 1: Not a broken record. That's the thing. Again, we keep
- 34:19Speaker 1: saying it, but when it happens, it's going to feel
- 34:22Speaker 1: right because we have guys on the team to get
- 34:24Speaker 1: that done. Find your run game. This might be the
- 34:27Speaker 1: key to the game bump. The Broncos are 29th in
- 34:30Speaker 1: the NFL in rush defense. They allow 145 yards per game.
- 34:34Speaker 1: This might be the week to jumpstart that run game
- 34:36Speaker 1: and really build some confidence again to do what you
- 34:39Speaker 1: can and know how you can do it. Because they've
- 34:42Speaker 1: done it this year. You close out a game against
- 34:44Speaker 1: the Cardinals. You have decent running performances several other times
- 34:47Speaker 1: this year, even against the Chargers. So get back to
- 34:49Speaker 1: doing that.
- 34:50Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 34:51Speaker 3: And close these guys out. Take the football away. We
- 34:54Speaker 3: just got to hit all the cliches, okay? Take care
- 34:56Speaker 3: of the football. Be good on third down. Be good
- 34:58Speaker 3: in the red zone. And get after the quarterback, right?
- 35:02Speaker 3: Bo Nix has been struggling this year. So make him
- 35:04Speaker 3: feel that pressure. Get after him. Lock these receivers down.
- 35:09Speaker 3: And I feel good about Thursday night football.
- 35:11Speaker 1: Absolutely. Obviously, you know, you mentioned all those things. The
- 35:13Speaker 1: Seahawks are capable of doing that. I think we know
- 35:16Speaker 1: they're very good in the few losses they've had in
- 35:18Speaker 1: this era responding to them. I expect nothing less. On
- 35:22Speaker 1: Thursday night football, Seahawks traveling to Denver to take on
- 35:26Speaker 1: these Broncos. Me and Bump will be with you next week,
- 35:28Speaker 1: hopefully talking about a Seahawks victory. He's Michael Bump. This
- 35:31Speaker 1: has been Nassau Chobi. This has been Hawk Talk.
