- 0:44Speaker 3: are the Avid Endorsment. Hell everyone, Hello, how are you? Sir?
- 0:50Speaker 4: Email pal? I'm doing pretty well.
- 0:53Speaker 3: I feel like great.
- 0:54Speaker 4: Nothing's new to stop it, keep going, stop it.
- 0:57Speaker 3: You look fantastic.
- 0:59Speaker 4: I recently it was shorn. Yes, I can tell that helps.
- 1:03Speaker 1: Uh.
- 1:04Speaker 4: I don't know that I look less bald, but I
- 1:06Speaker 4: don't look more bald. You know what I mean.
- 1:09Speaker 3: You certainly don't look more bald. Yeah, you know, yes,
- 1:14Speaker 3: it looks though. It looks tight high tight.
- 1:18Speaker 4: Words used to describe me actually on several occasions, both
- 1:22Speaker 4: both one of them. Yeah, no, neither are really true. Honestly, yea,
- 1:26Speaker 4: honestly neither.
- 1:28Speaker 3: How are you I'm good man. You know, had a
- 1:32Speaker 3: few weeks off. I finally went back to work. We
- 1:34Speaker 3: did the country music Crew.
- 1:35Speaker 4: Yeah, how was it?
- 1:37Speaker 3: It was pretty fun man. Actually Kelsey got to come
- 1:41Speaker 3: out that which was cool. However, the day before we
- 1:45Speaker 3: were supposed to go, we actually the morning we were
- 1:48Speaker 3: supposed to go, she got super sick.
- 1:50Speaker 4: Of course she did.
- 1:52Speaker 3: And so then it was like scrambled to change flights. Thankfully,
- 1:58Speaker 3: we were going in a day before we needed.
- 2:01Speaker 4: To go in nice. Nice, so we.
- 2:04Speaker 3: Had a day. Yeah, we had time that we could
- 2:06Speaker 3: have enjoyed in Cosmeo for a day, but she was
- 2:09Speaker 3: super sick. Thankfully, the next day she felt better. Because
- 2:15Speaker 3: the travel day sucked. We had to spend a bunch
- 2:19Speaker 3: more money to not have a direct flight. Get up
- 2:23Speaker 3: at three in the morning. God, and yeah, it was brutal.
- 2:26Speaker 4: You're like, baby, I know you're not feeling well. Are
- 2:29Speaker 4: you ready for?
- 2:30Speaker 3: Are you ready for? Yeah? But at least when we
- 2:32Speaker 3: got into Cosmeo it was beautiful.
- 2:34Speaker 4: Yeah. Nice.
- 2:35Speaker 3: We actually went into the ocean for a little bit,
- 2:37Speaker 3: which was nice. And that morning it was negative twenty.
- 2:42Speaker 3: So to go from that, yeh, that was perfect.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Time.
- 2:44Speaker 4: We got eighty degrees.
- 2:46Speaker 3: It was like one hundred degrees switch it was actually three,
- 2:49Speaker 3: like you know, yes, just it was brutal. So we
- 2:53Speaker 3: got there. That was great. The cruise was super phone.
- 2:56Speaker 3: She she wasn't on last time, so it's really nice
- 2:58Speaker 3: to have her.
- 2:59Speaker 4: That's lovely.
- 3:00Speaker 3: And yeah, one very funny story. We're doing our show.
- 3:04Speaker 3: We were the last night. Okay, so they were on
- 3:08Speaker 3: for seven days. They had been partying, they'd been having
- 3:11Speaker 3: a good time. We're on at six point thirty and
- 3:14Speaker 3: at nine it was just like and that nine o'clock show.
- 3:19Speaker 3: By the end of the show, I was looking and
- 3:22Speaker 3: I saw the most sleep people. Oh yeah, in one
- 3:26Speaker 3: concert I've ever seen in like the fifth row stage right,
- 3:32Speaker 3: there was only like six people left in that row,
- 3:36Speaker 3: and five of those six people were.
- 3:39Speaker 4: Out to be fair lady, probably no.
- 3:44Speaker 3: They were sleep and one lady was like, mouth open
- 3:48Speaker 3: just and we're doing like sea shanties at the end,
- 3:53Speaker 3: and I was trying not to laugh.
- 3:55Speaker 4: Bet did that make you think of back in the day, though,
- 3:58Speaker 4: because that to me, that sounds like the true cruise ship.
- 4:02Speaker 3: Absolutely, dude, so many sleeping folks. It's funny, but usually
- 4:08Speaker 3: it's really old.
- 4:09Speaker 4: And there you know these people had been put through.
- 4:12Speaker 3: The late show and it was the last one, so
- 4:16Speaker 3: I totally get being tired. I was like fighting down.
- 4:19Speaker 4: The older I get, the more I'm like, yeah, yeah,
- 4:21Speaker 4: I understand, I get it. I want to be gone.
- 4:24Speaker 4: Good for you for trying, like.
- 4:26Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, oh for real. One of the nights I
- 4:29Speaker 3: was planning on going and was too tired.
- 4:31Speaker 4: At nine guys, I don't know. So they have changed.
- 4:38Speaker 3: Oh big time.
- 4:39Speaker 4: That's so good. I love that.
- 4:41Speaker 3: But it was fun and now I'm back home for
- 4:43Speaker 3: a while.
- 4:44Speaker 4: So I love it wonderful. Well, welcome back. Have they
- 4:47Speaker 4: been checking out any movies.
- 4:49Speaker 3: I have been checking on some movies, Thank you for asking.
- 4:52Speaker 3: Of course. Big news in the movie world the Academy
- 4:56Speaker 3: Award nominations came out.
- 4:57Speaker 4: Yeah I haven't even as much as I should. I
- 5:00Speaker 4: love it.
- 5:01Speaker 3: Yeah. I was still in the ship when it came out,
- 5:04Speaker 3: so I dove into that one day and one of
- 5:08Speaker 3: them was for a Real Pain. Nice. So yeah. It's
- 5:15Speaker 3: the new film written and directed and starring Jesse Eisenberg
- 5:20Speaker 3: about how he and a close cousin of his played
- 5:22Speaker 3: by Kieran Culkin, go to Europe take a tour that
- 5:26Speaker 3: went to different World War Two sites in homage to
- 5:30Speaker 3: their grandmother who had passed away, and she was a
- 5:33Speaker 3: Holocaust survivor. Acting was great. Kieran Culkin won a Golden Globe.
- 5:39Speaker 3: He's now up for an Oscar for his performance. I'd
- 5:42Speaker 3: imagine he's the front runner. He was a standout in
- 5:46Speaker 3: that movie.
- 5:47Speaker 4: Yeah. Interesting character too, Yeah.
- 5:50Speaker 3: Just like, yeah, it was kind of all over the place.
- 5:53Speaker 3: You didn't really you couldn't like put him in a box.
- 5:56Speaker 3: Jesse Eisenberg is basically playing what I assume is most himself.
- 6:01Speaker 3: He does it quite a bit, like yeah, filled with anxiety,
- 6:04Speaker 3: kind of nerdy, kind of funny, but really good too,
- 6:07Speaker 3: Like I feel really good.
- 6:08Speaker 4: Yeah, I'm with you. I feel like sometimes when people
- 6:12Speaker 4: do that, I'm like, I will kind of play it
- 6:14Speaker 4: off in my head and then I'm like, but that's
- 6:16Speaker 4: still really impressive.
- 6:18Speaker 3: Yeah, or whatever. And it all came from his brain,
- 6:21Speaker 3: which is even more impressive.
- 6:22Speaker 4: Yeah, that's incredible.
- 6:23Speaker 3: I really enjoyed the film and it's currently streaming on Hulu,
- 6:27Speaker 3: So if you guys want to check it out, it's
- 6:29Speaker 3: on the Hula machine.
- 6:30Speaker 4: That's what I was going to use for my streamer,
- 6:32Speaker 4: So head start for all you guys, it's a wonderful film.
- 6:36Speaker 4: It's super fun. I'll just say everything you said. It
- 6:39Speaker 4: was great. I loved it.
- 6:40Speaker 3: Yeah, nice, beautiful. What was the last movie you watched.
- 6:43Speaker 4: I went to the theater and I watched a movie
- 6:47Speaker 4: that was not short. It was called The Brutalist.
- 6:50Speaker 3: You did see it?
- 6:51Speaker 4: Yeah, we went went, We did get sodas. I know
- 6:56Speaker 4: we talked about that on the last part, So I
- 6:58Speaker 4: want to update everyone did it was wonderful?
- 7:01Speaker 2: Uh?
- 7:02Speaker 4: Super long movie. Uh, you know, sharp edges. A lot
- 7:07Speaker 4: of people would call it unpleasant, but I actually liked
- 7:10Speaker 4: the movie quite a bit. That was a joke about brutalism,
- 7:14Speaker 4: got it? Yeah, well okay, well don't don't even crack
- 7:17Speaker 4: a smile, no worries. It wasn't a good joke. I
- 7:21Speaker 4: get it. Sorry. We talked about cruise ships.
- 7:23Speaker 3: I'm right back and right there.
- 7:27Speaker 4: This movie really three and a half hours long. It
- 7:31Speaker 4: is long, but there's an intermission, which I actually like that.
- 7:34Speaker 4: We talked about it. Yeah, three and a half hours.
- 7:37Speaker 4: The intermission was fifteen I think.
- 7:40Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what I was asking. Cool.
- 7:41Speaker 4: I believe that was right, and it even like says
- 7:44Speaker 4: on the you know, on the film and on the screen.
- 7:46Speaker 3: Does it have like a ticker?
- 7:47Speaker 4: It does, which I love that they do that. I
- 7:50Speaker 4: think that's super smart. But yeah, not like a super
- 7:55Speaker 4: pleasant movie obviously.
- 7:56Speaker 3: I mean it didn't see it's heavy.
- 7:58Speaker 4: It is really well acted though. It's a super interesting story.
- 8:02Speaker 4: I was interested to learn it's not really a true story.
- 8:06Speaker 4: It's an amalgamation and then like some some fun touches
- 8:11Speaker 4: put on a kind of true story. It sounds like,
- 8:14Speaker 4: but really interesting story just about you know, an immigrant.
- 8:20Speaker 4: I don't know if they ever say where he's from.
- 8:22Speaker 4: They do, yes, I think that's right. Yeah, I think
- 8:28Speaker 4: that's right. Anyway, they come over after the war and
- 8:33Speaker 4: they were you know, their Jews, so they you know,
- 8:35Speaker 4: were displaced and they were split up from their families
- 8:38Speaker 4: and all the things. And he's a big like the
- 8:41Speaker 4: brutalist is a reference to architecture, and he's an architect,
- 8:44Speaker 4: and it's just about him like making his way, dealing
- 8:48Speaker 4: with past trauma in the new world and like where
- 8:52Speaker 4: there still is you know, prejudice and things. It's very
- 8:54Speaker 4: timely in that way. Interesting. We have two movies that
- 8:58Speaker 4: are coming out right now about this various thing, which
- 9:00Speaker 4: is kind of interesting. Yeah, I mean different, you know,
- 9:03Speaker 4: parts of that story, but part of the overall story,
- 9:07Speaker 4: the kind. The first half is really really good and
- 9:11Speaker 4: super intriguing. The second half is also good, but just
- 9:14Speaker 4: like they lost me a little bit, you know, just
- 9:17Speaker 4: because it's a little long maybe or something. But super
- 9:20Speaker 4: well acted. It's a great movie. It's up for Oscar,
- 9:23Speaker 4: and I think it's the favorite. I wouldn't be surprised
- 9:26Speaker 4: for our best picture. Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised. If
- 9:28Speaker 4: we're talking about it again. It's great. Flisty Jones is
- 9:30Speaker 4: awesome in it, and I feel like it's been a
- 9:32Speaker 4: minute since I've seen her, So that was fun.
- 9:34Speaker 3: Same.
- 9:35Speaker 4: Adrian Brody is the lead and he's wifle.
- 9:39Speaker 3: He seems like he's the front runner.
- 9:41Speaker 4: Guy pierces in this, and I hope that he wins
- 9:46Speaker 4: an Oscar for his performance. I don't even think he's
- 9:49Speaker 4: I don't think he is either, but I think he
- 9:50Speaker 4: is one of my favorite performances I saw that year
- 9:53Speaker 4: for sure. So yeah, it is super good. It is long,
- 10:00Speaker 4: it is you know, heavy, it's all those things. But
- 10:03Speaker 4: I should still see it in the theater, right, I
- 10:05Speaker 4: think so? Yeah? I think so? Okay, great score too.
- 10:09Speaker 4: I really liked the score a lot. I thought it
- 10:10Speaker 4: was beautiful. So yeah, I think you'll enjoy it. I
- 10:13Speaker 4: think others will too. Just know what you're getting into.
- 10:16Speaker 4: I guess sure, what have you been streaming?
- 10:20Speaker 3: Streaming? I finished the whole season of land Man, which
- 10:24Speaker 3: is on Paramount Plus. I think I had brought it
- 10:27Speaker 3: up when I had started it. Yeah, I love it. Yeah,
- 10:30Speaker 3: pretty great show. It's all done now. So Billy Bob
- 10:33Speaker 3: Thornton is great. Ali Larder is really great. It's the
- 10:37Speaker 3: best thing I've ever seen her do, aside from the
- 10:40Speaker 3: whip Cream Bikini and Varsity Blues.
- 10:42Speaker 4: Which obviously is number one. I mean, great call.
- 10:46Speaker 3: Yeah, but she is like really good.
- 10:49Speaker 4: So she was in it more than we thought too
- 10:51Speaker 4: at the beginning. Yeah, because at first you were I
- 10:53Speaker 4: think you had only seen her on like face, right,
- 10:55Speaker 4: it was like the first Yeah that's right, okay cool. Yeah,
- 10:58Speaker 4: And so.
- 10:58Speaker 3: She becomes a main your characters lovely, but John Hamm
- 11:03Speaker 3: is a small role, Demi Moore has an even smaller role,
- 11:07Speaker 3: but everyone's good. It's basically talking about what it is
- 11:11Speaker 3: to be an oil man in Midland, Texas, and some
- 11:15Speaker 3: stuff gets glorified.
- 11:17Speaker 4: For sure.
- 11:18Speaker 3: The one thing that I like about this more than
- 11:21Speaker 3: the other Tailor Sheridan shows, especially Yellowstone. These people are
- 11:26Speaker 3: for the most part good and you can actually root
- 11:30Speaker 3: for the main characters. Yeah, it's not like there's nobody
- 11:37Speaker 3: you could root for. The people that you do root
- 11:39Speaker 3: for are still super flawed, you know, kind of like
- 11:43Speaker 3: breaking Bad or something. But yeah, if you're looking for
- 11:47Speaker 3: a new show, definitely has some drama and some funny.
- 11:50Speaker 3: It's worth checking out. It's on Paramount Plus. I would recommend.
- 11:54Speaker 4: Love that very fun.
- 11:55Speaker 3: Yeah, how about you.
- 11:56Speaker 4: I just want to say one thing real quick about
- 11:58Speaker 4: a real pain. Did you do you know that the
- 12:00Speaker 4: lady in their group was Jennifer Gray, because I it
- 12:04Speaker 4: took me forever to realize that's who it was. I
- 12:07Speaker 4: was like, who is this beautiful lady? I was like, oh, duh.
- 12:11Speaker 3: Yeah, like a long time, you know, because you think
- 12:14Speaker 3: of her from Dirty Dancing. Yeah, and she had clearly
- 12:19Speaker 3: gotten her nose done and so then it was like
- 12:22Speaker 3: kind of hard to recognize her after that. It was
- 12:25Speaker 3: such a characteristic of her face. But yeah, she was wonderful.
- 12:31Speaker 3: I was like, yeah, see.
- 12:32Speaker 4: More of her. I want to, you know, I don't know, like.
- 12:35Speaker 3: So pretty much the only person I recognized out of
- 12:39Speaker 3: the other you know cast.
- 12:42Speaker 4: Sorry, that was just an aside. I went again to
- 12:46Speaker 4: the theater, so it's not streaming exactly, but I saw
- 12:48Speaker 4: one of them days. Have you heard about this movie?
- 12:51Speaker 4: This is the Key, Key and is a movie that
- 12:55Speaker 4: came out. It was it looks kind of like a
- 12:58Speaker 4: Friday and like a What was the other one? I said,
- 13:01Speaker 4: a little like booksmarty kind of or something too, only
- 13:04Speaker 4: I guess they're older. Anyway, it doesn't matter. A pretty
- 13:07Speaker 4: fun movie. I had a great time with it. It's
- 13:10Speaker 4: definitely like a buddy comedy between these two ladies. You know,
- 13:13Speaker 4: they have ups and downs, but are both like kind
- 13:16Speaker 4: of badasses in their own way while they're trying to
- 13:19Speaker 4: figure things out. There's a such I'm not even gonna
- 13:22Speaker 4: tell you who it is. There is such a funny
- 13:25Speaker 4: cameo part in this that you were gonna love that.
- 13:29Speaker 4: I can't wait till you see it because it's so funny.
- 13:33Speaker 4: It's not exactly a cameo. It's a small part, but
- 13:35Speaker 4: it's really really great. Tons of people show up in
- 13:38Speaker 4: this that are super super fun and it's like, I
- 13:43Speaker 4: don't know, it felt like I thought it was gonna
- 13:45Speaker 4: be zanier than it was, but it was also more
- 13:47Speaker 4: heartfelt than I thought it was gonna be. So it
- 13:49Speaker 4: wasn't like that's not a bad thing, if that makes sense.
- 13:53Speaker 4: But I really liked this movie. I thought was funny
- 13:56Speaker 4: and I thought like these two ladies were great together
- 13:59Speaker 4: and just a great time it was. It was wild.
- 14:02Speaker 3: It looks really fun. Well that's good. I'm glad you
- 14:04Speaker 3: enjoyed it.
- 14:05Speaker 4: That's a good time for sure, and a very different
- 14:08Speaker 4: vibe from the brutalist.
- 14:10Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 14:11Speaker 4: Yeah, we didn't back, but that would have been an
- 14:13Speaker 4: interesting day for sure.
- 14:15Speaker 3: Yes, that would have been Yeah, but it would have
- 14:17Speaker 3: been a long day, long back to backing. Yeah, anything,
- 14:21Speaker 3: but it was fun.
- 14:21Speaker 4: So check out one of them days. It was a
- 14:23Speaker 4: good time. Nice, I will Yeah, Well what do you think?
- 14:28Speaker 3: Roy?
- 14:28Speaker 4: Sorry, I forgot I asked you first, and then I
- 14:31Speaker 4: got scread. I'm pretty dumb. You guys can visit us

- 15:24Speaker 3: every episode and we usually do a top five draft
- 15:28Speaker 3: that pertains to the movie we're talking about, and for
- 15:31Speaker 3: this one, we decided to go with our top five
- 15:35Speaker 3: rich kids in Movies draft.
- 15:38Speaker 4: Hell yeah, this is gonna be fun. There be fun ones.
- 15:42Speaker 4: I can't wait.
- 15:43Speaker 3: There was. We kind of went off the beaten path,
- 15:46Speaker 3: and I'm hoping I'm hoping you didn't as well, because
- 15:50Speaker 3: I feel like you probably just thought of all the
- 15:52Speaker 3: one side.
- 15:52Speaker 1: Ah, I don't know.
- 15:55Speaker 4: We'll find out. We'll find out. I don't know, Okay,
- 15:57Speaker 4: but it'll be a great time. But we're here today
- 16:01Speaker 4: to talk about a rich kid movie that we just
- 16:05Speaker 4: desperately love. I think is the fair way to say it? Right?
- 16:07Speaker 3: Do you think?
- 16:08Speaker 4: Do you think it's fair?
- 16:09Speaker 3: I think so.
- 16:10Speaker 4: Yeah. I'm pausing because I need to look up nineteen
- 16:13Speaker 4: ninety fives. I couldn't remember what here it was. It
- 16:18Speaker 4: never pulled up. But we're here to talk about Billy Madison,
- 16:22Speaker 4: and we had to get a man who I've seen
- 16:25Speaker 4: personally argue between shampoo and conditioner in a bath. A
- 16:29Speaker 4: man who has drawn on his mid torso area, a
- 16:34Speaker 4: smiley face whilst in the sun while drinking a Dacre
- 16:38Speaker 4: or two. Just a beautiful man. So let's welcome him.
- 16:42Speaker 4: Let's bring back Maxwell Fellshime.
- 16:45Speaker 3: What's happening in Maxophone?
- 16:47Speaker 1: Bitch? It's good to see you too.
- 16:53Speaker 4: How you been good?
- 16:54Speaker 3: To have you back? Good?
- 16:55Speaker 1: I've been good.
- 16:56Speaker 4: Yeah, I have been good. What have you been doing?
- 16:59Speaker 3: Uh?
- 17:00Speaker 1: Jeez, it's been a while. Uh playing music.
- 17:05Speaker 3: Like you do?
- 17:06Speaker 1: Took the Nevada bar exam. That was weird.
- 17:08Speaker 4: Yeah you did?
- 17:10Speaker 3: Wow?
- 17:11Speaker 1: I passed.
- 17:12Speaker 3: Yeah, I love it nice.
- 17:14Speaker 1: It was horrible. I don't recommend.
- 17:19Speaker 3: You don't have to worry unless you have to do that.
- 17:22Speaker 4: Even if I go to Lot never taking the bar,
- 17:25Speaker 4: So I'm good.
- 17:27Speaker 1: You go to law school in Wisconsin, you don't have
- 17:29Speaker 1: to perfect there you go.
- 17:32Speaker 3: How long was that process for you? Like you, I
- 17:36Speaker 3: would imagine you had to studied for a long time
- 17:38Speaker 3: A year wow.
- 17:40Speaker 1: From when I like started out all the stuff. Yeah,
- 17:42Speaker 1: I started a little sooner than most people just because
- 17:45Speaker 1: I was also working when I did it. But totally
- 17:48Speaker 1: it was way different than the last time I took it.
- 17:51Speaker 1: Like the studying stuff is way more advanced.
- 17:53Speaker 4: So that was yeah, like actual programs and stuff, right.
- 17:57Speaker 1: Yeah, and it like learns from what you're learning and
- 18:01Speaker 1: wild wicked advanced. I just had like books in a
- 18:04Speaker 1: weird class before them.
- 18:06Speaker 4: Sure that's cool, man, congrat.
- 18:08Speaker 3: Well, good on you man. That's very impressive. U.
- 18:12Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, hanging, I'm playing a bunch of music we've
- 18:15Speaker 4: got We've got some dates here. February seventh, we're going
- 18:19Speaker 4: to be in Rochester, Minnesota, opening for Nerdy at the
- 18:22Speaker 4: Chateau Theater. February twelve, you'll be at the Showboat Saloon
- 18:26Speaker 4: for the Steak Night Invitational in the Wisconsin Dells.
- 18:31Speaker 3: And are those with the box then as Oh no.
- 18:33Speaker 1: The Steak Night one is Adam Gruel and the Space.
- 18:36Speaker 3: Burritos burritos nice?
- 18:38Speaker 4: Yeah, nice? And then the People Brother's Band February fifteenth
- 18:42Speaker 4: at the Green Room in Minneapol.
- 18:45Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:45Speaker 4: I love that little little Valentine's weekend treat for people
- 18:50Speaker 4: here in Minneapols. Yep.
- 18:52Speaker 1: I learned early on I cannot play a gig on
- 18:54Speaker 1: Valentine's Day becaus there's a lot of problems. Next day
- 18:57Speaker 1: is all good?
- 18:58Speaker 3: You were like, I have learned.
- 19:00Speaker 4: I do it the next day.
- 19:02Speaker 1: Yes, smart, smart, good thinking.
- 19:05Speaker 4: Never, I can always take every one of those anyway.
- 19:08Speaker 1: Uh.
- 19:12Speaker 4: Well, you have a website, right you or directs people
- 19:17Speaker 4: to you?
- 19:19Speaker 1: Yeah, Themaxophone dot com. It just goes to my Facebook page.
- 19:22Speaker 4: Oh that's right. But it's got all the gigs and stuff, right.
- 19:25Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 19:25Speaker 1: Someday I'll make a website.
- 19:27Speaker 4: Yeah, you going it? Readirects? What what more do you need?
- 19:30Speaker 1: Yeah? Go to the Maxophone on Instagram. It's all on
- 19:32Speaker 1: there too.
- 19:33Speaker 4: I love it. That's wonderful. Well, boys, we're here to
- 19:37Speaker 4: talk about a lovely little film that I think is
- 19:40Speaker 4: gonna have one of our longer quote sections. So maybe
- 19:43Speaker 4: we should just get into it because I wrote a
- 19:46Speaker 4: lot down. Yeah, we're here to talk about Billy Madison,
- 19:54Speaker 4: like I said earlier, but Rob, will you get it
- 19:55Speaker 4: started with just a rough synopses?
- 19:58Speaker 3: Yes, manchild Billy Madison has been a spoiled rich kid
- 20:04Speaker 3: all his life and spends his days drinking and partying.
- 20:07Speaker 3: When his father, Hotel Magnet Brian, becomes fed up with
- 20:11Speaker 3: his son's irresponsible ways, he issues an ultimatum. Since Billy
- 20:16Speaker 3: passed all the schooling thanks to his father's influence and bribes,
- 20:20Speaker 3: he must retake and past every grade in twenty four weeks.
- 20:24Speaker 3: Otherwise the business will be turned over to Brian's conniving
- 20:28Speaker 3: associate Eric Eric.
- 20:33Speaker 4: Nice Nice read, Nice read thanks to to Roe's mottos. So,
- 20:37Speaker 4: we've had a few of these lately where it's been
- 20:39Speaker 4: opposite of what we expected. It's really been on a
- 20:42Speaker 4: left field. This one's remember this one.
- 20:44Speaker 1: I thought it was really bad when it came out.
- 20:47Speaker 1: Was it really had really bad reviews and Adam Sandler
- 20:50Speaker 1: was super sad about it, Like, yeah, I dount hated him.
- 20:53Speaker 3: Yep, Like Cisco and Ebert. I don't think they really
- 20:57Speaker 3: warmed up to him until Punchdrunk Love. Really sure, Jack
- 21:01Speaker 3: and Jill No, No, But he got panned for the
- 21:06Speaker 3: first like fifteen movies.
- 21:07Speaker 4: It was really for them, right, I mean, guys, but
- 21:13Speaker 4: you're not shooting high. Yeah, critics, I didn't love it. It's
- 21:17Speaker 4: at a rock so on forty it's tough. Audience members did.
- 21:21Speaker 3: It's rough.
- 21:22Speaker 4: They nearly doubled that up to seventy nine, which that's
- 21:26Speaker 4: even a little lower than I would have thought honestly.
- 21:28Speaker 3: But I mean, you know, if you're seeing it for
- 21:32Speaker 3: the first time, I mean you weren't around back then.
- 21:35Speaker 3: Like I totally get it. But you know, people our
- 21:38Speaker 3: age or love it.
- 21:39Speaker 4: Well, let's find out what we think. It's time for
- 21:41Speaker 4: our hot take.
- 21:43Speaker 3: Honting, that's a hot take. That's a hot take.
- 21:49Speaker 4: I got the sunburn.
- 21:51Speaker 3: Now I have a smiley faced sunburn on my belly.
- 21:55Speaker 4: Nice. Good job, good job, good job, good job. I
- 21:58Speaker 4: would go first. I love this movie a ton. It
- 22:01Speaker 4: was one of my favorites back in the day. I
- 22:03Speaker 4: feel like we were like the perfect age for this movie, honestly,
- 22:07Speaker 4: like it is a classic. He could do like basically
- 22:12Speaker 4: no wrong to me. He was just a weirdo in
- 22:15Speaker 4: the best way. Some caveats, Some of the language doesn't
- 22:20Speaker 4: hold up super great, you know, like we make fun
- 22:23Speaker 4: of the kid with a stutter they can't read. That's
- 22:26Speaker 4: not awesome, but it is funny. And then yeah, there's
- 22:29Speaker 4: just a bunch of other stuff that doesn't hold up great.
- 22:32Speaker 4: But it's old, you know, So what are we doing?
- 22:34Speaker 4: I don't know, it gets as we're doing. But there's
- 22:39Speaker 4: so many bits in this that have been around in
- 22:42Speaker 4: my vernacular and amongst my friend groups. You guys included
- 22:46Speaker 4: yea that, like Honest to God, are like throwaways in
- 22:49Speaker 4: this movie, and I kind of forgot they were even
- 22:51Speaker 4: from it. You know, like some of them just so
- 22:53Speaker 4: so fun one of and it just like the throwaway
- 22:59Speaker 4: bits are so funny. And that is a literal throwaway.
- 23:01Speaker 4: Is the Bradley Whitford throwing the stapler and anger and
- 23:05Speaker 4: hitting his assistant. I did not remember that, and it
- 23:09Speaker 4: it like the music they have under that is so
- 23:12Speaker 4: fun Like the whole thing is just so funny. Anyway,
- 23:15Speaker 4: I love this movie a lot. I think it's super
- 23:17Speaker 4: super hilarious. It obviously hits me with nostalgia from the time,
- 23:23Speaker 4: but truly, truly my hottest take. I actually have a
- 23:26Speaker 4: few for this one. Why would he want to take
- 23:28Speaker 4: over this company? He's living the life. What does he
- 23:31Speaker 4: need to take over this company? Also, we're just gonna
- 23:34Speaker 4: give him the company if he graduates hike school.
- 23:36Speaker 1: What are we doing?
- 23:38Speaker 4: That's crazy? And finally my last one, Eric pulls a
- 23:43Speaker 4: gun on him and threatens to kill him and then
- 23:48Speaker 4: gets to come to graduation. I guess he got you
- 23:59Speaker 4: on the butt. So they were probably like, it's what
- 24:01Speaker 4: it is. But yeah, I don't know how realistic this movie.
- 24:06Speaker 3: So yeah, yeah, I don't know.
- 24:09Speaker 4: That's my hottest take. That's all I got.
- 24:12Speaker 3: Oh hot take, Buddy Scorching, very similar take came out
- 24:18Speaker 3: at the perfect time for me. I loved it when
- 24:20Speaker 3: I was eleven, watched it over and over and over,
- 24:24Speaker 3: and yeah, one that me and my friends would quote constantly.
- 24:28Speaker 3: I can't hear the word chlorophyll yes without immediately thinking moaphil.
- 24:36Speaker 3: It was written by Adam Sandler and fellow SNL Tim
- 24:41Speaker 3: Hurley and looks like it was directed by Tamra Davis
- 24:46Speaker 3: and she did a bunch of music videos back in
- 24:49Speaker 3: the day. And then some silly comedies like CB four.
- 24:53Speaker 3: She did Half Baked, another movie that I quote pretty regularly,
- 24:59Speaker 3: and saw that she I merely does TV.
- 25:01Speaker 4: Now.
- 25:04Speaker 3: I was pretty ready to uh, kind of crap on
- 25:07Speaker 3: this movie for being dumb and sophomoric, but just for
- 25:12Speaker 3: the nostalgia and the quotes alone, I can't do it.
- 25:17Speaker 3: I still love this movie. It takes me right back
- 25:22Speaker 3: to when you know, almost a teenager, and like you said,
- 25:27Speaker 3: Adam Sandler, he just could do no wrong for me
- 25:30Speaker 3: when this came out and the CD they're all gonna
- 25:34Speaker 3: laugh at you. Yeah, Like I just listened to that
- 25:37Speaker 3: over and over and over and it was just like
- 25:40Speaker 3: he had my sense of humor nailed down perfectly. So yeah,
- 25:45Speaker 3: hot Take. I still really enjoy this movie. It was
- 25:48Speaker 3: really fun to rewatch.
- 25:50Speaker 4: Hot Hot Take. Hot All right, MAXI what do you
- 25:53Speaker 4: got baby? Yeah?
- 25:55Speaker 1: I mean it's exactly the same hit me perfect right time,
- 25:58Speaker 1: as like right when I was like, oh I can
- 26:01Speaker 1: like a R comedy. Great, this is so it's like
- 26:04Speaker 1: it was the next like level of dirtiness that was
- 26:07Speaker 1: just like that's what I want at that age, and
- 26:10Speaker 1: prim Adam Sandler, same thing had all the CDs memorize them.
- 26:14Speaker 1: This is probably the movie I've seen the most in
- 26:17Speaker 1: my entire life.
- 26:18Speaker 4: Wow, because I watched it all.
- 26:20Speaker 1: From when I was a kid, Like anytime friends were over,
- 26:23Speaker 1: if there's nothing we would just it would be on.
- 26:26Speaker 1: And then like even through college, I kept watching it
- 26:29Speaker 1: and I even had like a drinking game for this
- 26:31Speaker 1: movie that we would play. So I can't remember all
- 26:36Speaker 1: of them. So there was a social every time they
- 26:39Speaker 1: did everyone. Every time someone said, oh do Hill rules,
- 26:42Speaker 1: you had to drink. There at the end, there's the
- 26:44Speaker 1: part where they're chanting, and that's like no one ever
- 26:48Speaker 1: survived this whole game. Whenever the penguin was in, I
- 26:52Speaker 1: know that was one of them. Whenever Chris Farley was in,
- 26:56Speaker 1: that was one of them. So there's the part at
- 26:58Speaker 1: the end where they meet. There's something great ones when
- 27:00Speaker 1: he graduates to do a big social. But the biggest
- 27:03Speaker 1: one was if you quoted it before the thing happened
- 27:07Speaker 1: in the movie, you had to drink. So that was
- 27:09Speaker 1: the one that ever got everyone because everyone wanted to
- 27:11Speaker 1: do all the quotes and stuff. That's kept people from
- 27:14Speaker 1: talking throughout the whole thing. Uh, there's maybe some other ones,
- 27:17Speaker 1: but I think that was most of them. Yeah, so
- 27:20Speaker 1: like all through college and then I probably watched it
- 27:23Speaker 1: like once a year just for funds, like I'll put
- 27:25Speaker 1: it on and I don't know, it's so good, and
- 27:28Speaker 1: since I've seen it so many times this time through,
- 27:31Speaker 1: I decided to at the end, I went and searched
- 27:34Speaker 1: out all the deleted scenes because I I remember I
- 27:38Speaker 1: had seen one of them. It was like a kickball
- 27:39Speaker 1: game between him and all the staff at his house
- 27:42Speaker 1: and they're playing kickball, and I don't remember when I
- 27:44Speaker 1: saw it, but I'm like, oh, there's deleted scenes out there,
- 27:46Speaker 1: and I went to watch him most of them. It
- 27:48Speaker 1: makes sense why they cut him out, but they definitely
- 27:51Speaker 1: made like, you know what, how when Nita's always hitting
- 27:55Speaker 1: on him, it was much more like aggressive and moless
- 28:00Speaker 1: like her.
- 28:00Speaker 4: She was just going hard.
- 28:01Speaker 1: And I'm like, oh, yeah, so more like way dirtier
- 28:06Speaker 1: like hitting on him and then she like gets mad
- 28:08Speaker 1: at anyone who's like like a love interest. It's pretty funny,
- 28:12Speaker 1: it was. That was kind of the funniest plot line
- 28:14Speaker 1: that got deleted. But other than that, yeah, yeah, I
- 28:21Speaker 1: love that. But yeah, I love, love love this movie.
- 28:24Speaker 1: And you know, you say you want to hate on
- 28:26Speaker 1: because sophomore and stuff. I'm sophomore, so I love it. Yeah,
- 28:30Speaker 1: I can never hate this movie. It's to me, it's
- 28:33Speaker 1: it's nearly perfect. It's so funny.
- 28:35Speaker 4: But I love that.
- 28:37Speaker 3: I love that.
- 28:38Speaker 1: Yeah, And I say, I stay stuff from this all
- 28:40Speaker 1: the time. And now I'm in a weird position, like
- 28:44Speaker 1: since I do music, there's like younger kids that I
- 28:47Speaker 1: play with and stuff now and I will say this
- 28:49Speaker 1: and they'll just be like and I have to explain.
- 28:52Speaker 1: I'm like, and it's so many habits. I'm like, you
- 28:54Speaker 1: haven't seen mads. Oh man, guys, it's good and I
- 28:59Speaker 1: have to explain this scene and it's just not good
- 29:01Speaker 1: and you have to explain it and it's just like.
- 29:03Speaker 3: No, you can't trust me.
- 29:05Speaker 4: It's great And that's so stupid. You're like it is,
- 29:08Speaker 4: but that is part of why it's so fun. I
- 29:10Speaker 4: don't know, and the your generation.
- 29:12Speaker 1: I think this is really probably a super offensive movie too,
- 29:15Speaker 1: like you talked about. So I'm like when I say
- 29:17Speaker 1: this is my favorite movie, this best movie, like they're
- 29:20Speaker 1: gonna like think less of if they I'm just kind
- 29:23Speaker 1: of like not telling anyone. So I'm just like, if
- 29:25Speaker 1: you know, you know, if you.
- 29:26Speaker 3: Don't whatever, I'm a product of my time.
- 29:28Speaker 1: Leave me alone. Yeah, I definitely have like jokes that
- 29:34Speaker 1: I tell people and if they laugh at it, then
- 29:36Speaker 1: we can hang out. Like so it's like a kind
- 29:39Speaker 1: of a litmus test movie.
- 29:41Speaker 3: I think, yeah, I.
- 29:45Speaker 4: Love it, love it all. Right, Well those were hot
- 29:48Speaker 4: takes by everyone. Let's go and talk about our performance.
- 29:52Speaker 3: Let's name the dude the dude.
- 29:55Speaker 5: I'm the dude, So that's what you call me, you
- 29:58Speaker 5: know that, or his dudeness or duder or you know,
- 30:04Speaker 5: el duderino if you're not into the whole brevity thing.
- 30:07Speaker 1: Next, so he got for the dude, that's got to
- 30:10Speaker 1: be Adam Sandler. I mean, yeah, I think I'm with you.
- 30:14Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I think you're right.
- 30:16Speaker 1: He's so funny in this I don't know, and he
- 30:19Speaker 1: carries the movie and he's in like every scene, and.
- 30:21Speaker 4: He has always been able to tell the line of like,
- 30:24Speaker 4: yes he's stupid, you know, like all these things right,
- 30:28Speaker 4: but also he has the sweetness about him that like
- 30:31Speaker 4: you like him even if he's being a moron. I
- 30:33Speaker 4: don't know, Like he does that so well, I feel
- 30:36Speaker 4: like this is like his.
- 30:37Speaker 1: I mean, I know, it's his second movie, because I
- 30:39Speaker 1: think he did that like Overbord or whatever it's called first.
- 30:43Speaker 4: Before this too. I think was it Okay.
- 30:46Speaker 3: Maybe it was it was ninety four because we tried
- 30:49Speaker 3: to do it last week. Yes, that's right, couldn't find
- 30:52Speaker 3: it anything.
- 30:52Speaker 1: It's like this and then it went happy Gilmour after this,
- 30:56Speaker 1: but like he slowly like deluded himself towards like much
- 31:00Speaker 1: more family friendly and you could tell he had much
- 31:03Speaker 1: more like studio notes and like this needs to be
- 31:05Speaker 1: more broad appeal, and it just declined for me. And
- 31:08Speaker 1: this is like the one where it's just like pure
- 31:10Speaker 1: like this is what I think is funny. This is
- 31:12Speaker 1: so stupid to me, but I love it. It seems
- 31:14Speaker 1: like it's his most pure like self expression. And that's
- 31:18Speaker 1: why I love this one like more than almost anything
- 31:20Speaker 1: in the way he acts in this one, like it
- 31:23Speaker 1: totally got way labor And then he made a comeback recently,
- 31:26Speaker 1: I think with some of his more dramatic movies and stuff.
- 31:28Speaker 4: But for sure I love that.
- 31:31Speaker 3: Yeah, he's one of a kind. Just the balls you
- 31:36Speaker 3: have to have to go in and out of voices
- 31:39Speaker 3: like that and so ridiculous. It's just yeah, just like
- 31:51Speaker 3: one of.
- 31:51Speaker 1: The deleted scenes, he's doing like pull ups in gym
- 31:53Speaker 1: class and he's just doing that noise with every put
- 31:56Speaker 1: up is so funny.
- 32:01Speaker 4: That's great. It works every time. I love it.
- 32:04Speaker 3: It totally works. It shouldn't but it does. That's great.
- 32:09Speaker 4: Corrects well, nice, queen, sweet for the dude. Then it
- 32:11Speaker 4: sounds like, let's go talk about some of these other proks.
- 32:14Speaker 4: Let's name the Tucci the Tucci. Hello, who do you
- 32:19Speaker 4: got for this one?
- 32:19Speaker 1: Max? I had Bradley Whitford so good. I mean I
- 32:26Speaker 1: had like honorable mentions and stuff like prag Chris Farley
- 32:29Speaker 1: and I didn't write her name down the female lead, uh,
- 32:33Speaker 1: And I love Norma John but he's like the perfect
- 32:36Speaker 1: bad guy. And apparently this was supposed to be Philip
- 32:40Speaker 1: Seymour Hoffman and he got the role and then he
- 32:44Speaker 1: turned it down and like Adam Sandler called him personally
- 32:47Speaker 1: to like ask him why, and he's like, he just said,
- 32:50Speaker 1: I just didn't want to he didn't want to do it.
- 32:52Speaker 1: He didn't.
- 32:53Speaker 4: I'm just out. Yeah.
- 32:55Speaker 1: And then so then Bradley Whitford got it, and I
- 32:57Speaker 1: don't know, I think he's great. I mean, I yes,
- 33:00Speaker 1: Philip Seymour Hoffman could maybe be.
- 33:02Speaker 3: I mean, he can play a mean guy, but.
- 33:06Speaker 1: This dude's like so like cartoon weasel, Like he's just
- 33:10Speaker 1: like over the top, like no one could ever be
- 33:13Speaker 1: that bad. Like it's great, It's perfect for this absurd movie.
- 33:17Speaker 4: I love that pick.
- 33:18Speaker 3: Yeah, so totally, yeah, yeah, I just recently saw that
- 33:22Speaker 3: Adam Sandler was in an interview talking about that how
- 33:25Speaker 3: he was trying to convince Philip Seymour Hoffman to do it,
- 33:28Speaker 3: and he's just like no, but I'm glad you liked
- 33:31Speaker 3: my audition. It's so funny. Anything Chris Farley is in,
- 33:38Speaker 3: he's gonna either be the dude or the teach for me.
- 33:42Speaker 3: He can do no wrong. He was funny every time
- 33:45Speaker 3: he was on screen. And for sure I quote him
- 33:50Speaker 3: the most too from this movie.
- 33:52Speaker 4: And yeah, I love I love that's great.
- 33:57Speaker 5: Uh.
- 33:58Speaker 4: Teresa Merritt, we already mentioned her. She's so good.
- 34:03Speaker 3: I mean, yeah, she.
- 34:04Speaker 4: Just like calls him on his stuff, like you can
- 34:07Speaker 4: tell that her and him are very close and have
- 34:09Speaker 4: been for a long time. You know, like almost that
- 34:11Speaker 4: mother figure that's going on.
- 34:15Speaker 3: She's just wonderful, creepy mother figure.
- 34:18Speaker 4: But yeah, indeed, indeed. And then special shout out to
- 34:21Speaker 4: Norm MacDonald and Mark Beltzman. Oh they were so deadbeat friends.
- 34:26Speaker 4: They were great. They were just so funny.
- 34:29Speaker 3: They were great at so I didn't know at the time,
- 34:34Speaker 3: like I wasn't into a Christmas story growing up, but
- 34:39Speaker 3: that's that's so Darren McGavin is Brian Madison and yeah,
- 34:46Speaker 3: so I didn't know him at all like back then,
- 34:49Speaker 3: but apparently he was like a pretty big name that
- 34:52Speaker 3: at the time. The one person who did not work
- 34:56Speaker 3: for me at all and I always thought it was
- 34:59Speaker 3: weird was the principal.
- 35:01Speaker 4: Yeah, Josh, most of I never.
- 35:06Speaker 3: Principle right, Yes, dude, the whole wrestling thing and a
- 35:11Speaker 3: different I'm still horny just like like I never I
- 35:16Speaker 3: was just like that dude, you're scared us, scared us.
- 35:21Speaker 1: Yeah, I do love that part at the end where
- 35:23Speaker 1: he's like he's like, are you okay? And he just
- 35:26Speaker 1: keeps rambling on. He just like walks away. He's like,
- 35:29Speaker 1: I'm kind of hungry.
- 35:31Speaker 4: So great.
- 35:36Speaker 3: Yeah, he weirded me out since for thirty years.
- 35:39Speaker 4: Another person who I mean we mentioned but who also
- 35:42Speaker 4: made me feel weird for different reasons, Bridget Wilson Sampris
- 35:46Speaker 4: just she was.
- 35:47Speaker 3: So pretty on her Oh hugeush?
- 35:51Speaker 1: Is that the love interest?
- 35:52Speaker 3: Yeah, Veronica Cavon.
- 35:57Speaker 1: Spy was really weird.
- 35:58Speaker 3: She was, Oh, I like true, Miss Slippy, Thank you
- 36:01Speaker 3: get older, Miss Slippy.
- 36:05Speaker 4: Miss Slippy was high for the.
- 36:08Speaker 3: Putting the glue on the face and it's like Miss
- 36:11Speaker 3: Slippy in her dancing.
- 36:15Speaker 4: Yeah, it's so good.
- 36:17Speaker 3: She was a lot.
- 36:18Speaker 4: She's wonderful.
- 36:20Speaker 3: And then the you know, they have the hot mom
- 36:23Speaker 3: you're like kind of into but then she's like the
- 36:25Speaker 3: mucus queen and queen is yours. That was always weird.
- 36:30Speaker 4: That's strange, strange. Yeah, there's a bunch of great people. Yeah,
- 36:39Speaker 4: I think that was all I wrote down though.
- 36:42Speaker 3: Yeah, Sae. Well, let's go and pick our favorite scene,
- 36:46Speaker 3: and let's choose the dingus das is quite simple, really,
- 36:52Speaker 3: Dingus Dingus.
- 36:53Speaker 2: I can talk about my dingas all night long.
- 36:56Speaker 4: Max, what's your favorite? Very difficult. That's a hard time
- 36:59Speaker 4: with this one.
- 37:00Speaker 1: I have three of them and I don't know so
- 37:06Speaker 1: the one I want to pick is just because like
- 37:08Speaker 1: I don't know why, this like makes me laugh so much,
- 37:10Speaker 1: and I watch this is one where I'd like rewind
- 37:12Speaker 1: it and watch it over and over again. Is when
- 37:14Speaker 1: he just it makes no sense. He just does that
- 37:16Speaker 1: dance on the stairs, like the music starts.
- 37:19Speaker 5: You.
- 37:22Speaker 1: It's so funny. It makes no sense, like it's just
- 37:26Speaker 1: all of a sudden he hears music and then he
- 37:28Speaker 1: does this dance and then walks away. It's so funny.
- 37:31Speaker 1: And I probably watch that scene like that's one where
- 37:33Speaker 1: all like like we gotta watch it again, or like.
- 37:35Speaker 4: We'll just like throw.
- 37:38Speaker 1: But otherwise it'd probably be like the end of the
- 37:41Speaker 1: decathlon thing. I don't know if that's all one scene,
- 37:43Speaker 1: and you know, it's kind of like a culmination, but
- 37:46Speaker 1: I love that and and the just that whole thing
- 37:50Speaker 1: we can talk about. The only other one I had
- 37:55Speaker 1: was like the dodgeball scene. That's kind of like the
- 37:57Speaker 1: very like one of my very first ones, like right
- 38:00Speaker 1: when that starts work because he's just like his first
- 38:02Speaker 1: day and stuff, and it just like it's it perfectly
- 38:06Speaker 1: shows like, oh, this is an adult in great school.
- 38:10Speaker 1: But I think I'll stick with the dance on the stairs.
- 38:14Speaker 3: That's amazing. I had definitely thrown on there. The end
- 38:19Speaker 3: of the decathlon. Yeah, that's so funny. But for mine,
- 38:25Speaker 3: I just said anytime Chris Farley's on screen the who
- 38:28Speaker 3: would eat thirty bag lunches and then he is just
- 38:30Speaker 3: sitting there and just laughing as he's laughing too, so
- 38:36Speaker 3: good mouthful of food, just laughing. And I did the
- 38:44Speaker 3: that whenever I would have to like take my shirt
- 38:48Speaker 3: off or something.
- 38:51Speaker 1: Absolutely, I think that's the character you revert to back
- 38:55Speaker 1: in the days when like you were drinking and we
- 38:58Speaker 1: were in like Robin start mode, like.
- 39:03Speaker 3: You talk.
- 39:06Speaker 1: Ye, like when you fell through the stairs. You're definitely.
- 39:10Speaker 3: Yeah right, help me, yeah, huge, huge, huge.
- 39:23Speaker 1: He's your inner, He's your inner, He's like inside of you,
- 39:25Speaker 1: like even he's a part of it.
- 39:28Speaker 4: Absolutely.
- 39:29Speaker 3: Billy Madison was the movie you've seen the most. Tommy
- 39:32Speaker 3: Boy is the one I've seen the most, Bye by
- 39:34Speaker 3: a lot.
- 39:36Speaker 1: That's how I have.
- 39:38Speaker 3: Yeah, what do you got?
- 39:41Speaker 4: Well? I mean I also had the Decathlon. I'm with
- 39:45Speaker 4: you guys on that for sure. This one is such
- 39:48Speaker 4: a small scene on a rewatch, but I laughed at
- 39:51Speaker 4: it so hard and I do think of it every time,
- 39:54Speaker 4: so I guess I'll have to at least put it
- 39:55Speaker 4: out there. But the flame, the flaming bag of poop,
- 39:58Speaker 4: it also happens right away Oh yeah, it's so funny.
- 40:02Speaker 4: And I thought that was the funniest thing that had
- 40:05Speaker 4: ever been put on film. I think the.
- 40:07Speaker 3: First absolutely like, this is brilliant.
- 40:10Speaker 4: It doesn't get any better, dude.
- 40:12Speaker 3: From from the cut, cut his dad, that's right, dad
- 40:17Speaker 3: saying I sure hope he can find what he's looking for.
- 40:20Speaker 3: And then it's the cut.
- 40:22Speaker 4: Yeah so good. But it's like a minute and a
- 40:26Speaker 4: half or something like, but.
- 40:28Speaker 3: It's yeah so good, Oh dude, And we've all quoted
- 40:32Speaker 3: so many of those in that.
- 40:34Speaker 4: Like the old lady, Oh my god, the.
- 40:37Speaker 3: Old lady, the old man, everything that they say.
- 40:41Speaker 4: That's a good.
- 40:43Speaker 3: Don't tell me about business woman.
- 40:50Speaker 1: Oh should we just try to recite this whole movie ourselves?
- 40:53Speaker 1: Oh my, I seriously think this is one. Maybe maybe
- 40:58Speaker 1: I could.
- 40:58Speaker 4: It's up there for sure, certainly with a little bit
- 41:01Speaker 4: of prompting, I could like, yes.
- 41:05Speaker 3: I love that.
- 41:08Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 41:09Speaker 3: The only other one I threw down was the peeing
- 41:12Speaker 3: your pants bit because that was actually that kind of
- 41:15Speaker 3: sweet and it was you know, had all the ghost
- 41:20Speaker 3: quotes with that as well. And yeah, the Sloppy Joe scene,
- 41:25Speaker 3: just because I cannot think of anything else when Sloppy
- 41:30Speaker 3: Joe's are mentioned. I made him extra sloppy. Yeah, so
- 41:35Speaker 3: so good.
- 41:36Speaker 4: As someone who worked throughout my school time, I said
- 41:42Speaker 4: that as a lot, a lot, and I never felt
- 41:46Speaker 4: bad about it. Yeah, did you guys know I was
- 41:49Speaker 4: voted favorite lunch lady of the two thousand and two
- 41:52Speaker 4: senior class. That's that's not a joke.
- 41:57Speaker 1: In high school, Wait, how do you you they had
- 42:01Speaker 1: students working as lunch lady.
- 42:03Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, I worked with my My mom was a
- 42:05Speaker 4: lunch lady and I worked with her and me and
- 42:08Speaker 4: another guy and we worked there, I don't know, for
- 42:10Speaker 4: like four years or something.
- 42:13Speaker 1: That's inconceivable if that happened in our school, like they
- 42:16Speaker 1: would get either heckled or they would give away so much.
- 42:20Speaker 4: Stuff like oh yeah yeah, yeah, I was out like
- 42:24Speaker 4: a little We had this. It was like you get
- 42:27Speaker 4: burgers and like candy and stuff. That's where we worked.
- 42:32Speaker 4: It really wasn't a big deal, but yeah, they as
- 42:34Speaker 4: a joke. They voted me a favorite lunch lady when
- 42:37Speaker 4: I was a junior, and I liked it nice.
- 42:42Speaker 1: Is there pictures of you wearing the uniform and stuff?
- 42:44Speaker 4: Yeah? Probably somewhere. I had to wear a hairnet and
- 42:46Speaker 4: that's when I had lots of Oh yeah, I want
- 42:50Speaker 4: to see those pictures so bad. I'm sure I have
- 42:53Speaker 4: them somewhere. I'll try to dig them up next time
- 42:55Speaker 4: i'm home.
- 42:55Speaker 1: Put them into the episode right here.
- 42:57Speaker 4: I don't think I'll make it all of them, but
- 42:59Speaker 4: maybe we'll see. But yeah, I wore a hairnut and
- 43:03Speaker 4: I had just all the hair at that point.
- 43:05Speaker 3: And so lunch Lady Land, when Adam Sailor did that,
- 43:09Speaker 3: you must have loved that.
- 43:10Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, I didn't listen to his albums as
- 43:13Speaker 4: much as you guys did, so, but yes, I did
- 43:17Speaker 4: know about it, and it was talking about a lot,
- 43:20Speaker 4: so yeah, sure, anyway, that's neither here.
- 43:22Speaker 1: One of my go to karaoke songs is medium Pace.
- 43:25Speaker 1: They rarely have it at karaoke, but if they do,
- 43:30Speaker 1: amazing because it starts out so beautiful and slow and
- 43:33Speaker 1: no one really knows. Maybe you'll see a couple of
- 43:35Speaker 1: people be like oh no, but then he goes from
- 43:38Speaker 1: zero to like a hundred in one.
- 43:40Speaker 3: Sentence, and it's amazing.
- 43:42Speaker 1: From that word on, everyone's like what.
- 43:46Speaker 3: Yeah. If they don't know what it is, it really tracks.
- 43:49Speaker 3: It's really funny.
- 43:50Speaker 1: It's hard if you don't know what it is.
- 43:56Speaker 4: Wonderful. That's a watful. I want to do karaoke with
- 43:59Speaker 4: you so badly. Okay, any other scenes we feel like
- 44:04Speaker 4: we have to bring up. There's so many little.
- 44:06Speaker 3: Bits in this, but I mean I feel like, so yeah,
- 44:09Speaker 3: so many things are gonna come up in quotes. But
- 44:12Speaker 3: I feel like we all kind of talked about the
- 44:13Speaker 3: end of the Catholic and I feel like that's probably
- 44:16Speaker 3: like then for that, the climax for that. Yeah.
- 44:21Speaker 4: Nice. Well, let's move on to this quote section.
- 44:23Speaker 3: It's time to show me the money, Show me the money,
- 44:28Speaker 3: show me, show me.
- 44:35Speaker 4: Show me. Uh well, Max, you might as well say
- 44:38Speaker 4: a few, because I have a crap ton, so go
- 44:40Speaker 4: for it.
- 44:41Speaker 1: Oh man, there's so many I'm gonna like. So some
- 44:45Speaker 1: of the ones that I think are like I could
- 44:47Speaker 1: quote this whole movie and I do it all the time.
- 44:49Speaker 1: One that I do all the time, especially like when
- 44:51Speaker 1: playing music, if anyone like plays something awesome, I just
- 44:54Speaker 1: do that one where he's like, he's good, it's all
- 45:00Speaker 1: crappy and.
- 45:01Speaker 3: Then he's just.
- 45:03Speaker 1: I do so many times that one. The one I
- 45:07Speaker 1: do a ton is like it was it's like an
- 45:09Speaker 1: eight R line, but it's like there's a part where
- 45:11Speaker 1: his buddy he's like talking to his buddy and as
- 45:13Speaker 1: at one of the graduation parties and he's just spraying
- 45:16Speaker 1: this kid with oh my god, I talk about all
- 45:18Speaker 1: the time in the in the eight r is the
- 45:21Speaker 1: kid going like are you mister.
- 45:25Speaker 4: Mister?
- 45:26Speaker 1: I say that all the time when like weird people.
- 45:29Speaker 4: Say so many of these I don't even know you.
- 45:33Speaker 4: It's like so fun that yeah, yeah, that's.
- 45:37Speaker 1: You want some of this milk sideburns. I say that
- 45:39Speaker 1: a lot o Yeah, obviously the goo I throw a
- 45:44Speaker 1: ton of goozer very often anytime I'm like like saying
- 45:49Speaker 1: the letter are or if I can't im like are
- 45:51Speaker 1: you going to the.
- 45:55Speaker 2: Time?
- 45:56Speaker 1: And then I always finish it. Yeah, I always finish it.
- 45:58Speaker 1: The other ladies will.
- 46:03Speaker 4: I'll be a snack pack.
- 46:04Speaker 1: I do that one a lot. I do a ton
- 46:07Speaker 1: of like I'm glad I called that guy and I'll
- 46:11Speaker 1: let someone else read the whole quote from the principle,
- 46:13Speaker 1: but like that one, that one's perfect for it. And
- 46:17Speaker 1: that dude is a writer from Sara Night Live. Like
- 46:21Speaker 1: you can tell I can't remember his name.
- 46:23Speaker 3: Isn't that downy?
- 46:24Speaker 1: Isn't that that might be might be, but he I know,
- 46:29Speaker 1: he helped write skits on his albums, and then he's
- 46:32Speaker 1: also in a bunch of like Norm McDonald movies and stuff,
- 46:35Speaker 1: and he was like he was the dude who is
- 46:36Speaker 1: Jack Handy? And yeah, yeah, yeah, you can tell that
- 46:42Speaker 1: line is like a writer's line. It's so eloquent, but
- 46:45Speaker 1: like it's so funny and just so skate.
- 46:48Speaker 4: Well, there's some funny that'll come up later that's really fun.
- 46:56Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 46:56Speaker 1: Those are kind of the main ones I got, but
- 46:57Speaker 1: like this whole movie, like I don't know, it's like infinite,
- 47:01Speaker 1: so many quotes that I use all the time, and
- 47:04Speaker 1: it's just like any there's like certain things that trigger
- 47:06Speaker 1: some of them or situations and it's like automatic, like
- 47:09Speaker 1: I just it just happens. It's in my subconscious, so
- 47:13Speaker 1: do this is one of things like if I have dementia,
- 47:15Speaker 1: I'll remember songs and probably quotes from this movie like
- 47:18Speaker 1: those are burned in way deep in the.
- 47:20Speaker 4: Scenes, and I'm such like a parrot about it because
- 47:22Speaker 4: if someone like you said, if someone says like are
- 47:26Speaker 4: you know or something like, I'll just go right into
- 47:28Speaker 4: it right like that's the on rap into.
- 47:31Speaker 1: You know, Like I said, it's weird. I'm never like
- 47:33Speaker 1: around people, not that many anymore, who finish it or
- 47:36Speaker 1: know it. So it does lead these really weird parts
- 47:40Speaker 1: where I say this thing that makes no sense, and
- 47:42Speaker 1: like these, what.
- 47:45Speaker 3: Why did you say that makes sense? You're scaring us? Yeah, dude,
- 47:52Speaker 3: pretty much. I don't say it very much anymore, but
- 47:55Speaker 3: I used to a lot, and it was that Veronica fun.
- 47:59Speaker 3: It's one P eight I know from experienced dude, if
- 48:04Speaker 3: you know what I mean, I know you don't, well,
- 48:07Speaker 3: not me personally, but a guy I know him and
- 48:09Speaker 3: her got it on. Wait, No they didn't know. They didn't. No, no,
- 48:14Speaker 3: they didn't, but you could imagine what it'd be like
- 48:17Speaker 3: if they did. Right, everybody on good, great grand wonderful.
- 48:24Speaker 4: No yelling on the buck I'm screaming. No yelling on
- 48:28Speaker 4: the bus always got me too. I loved it so much.
- 48:31Speaker 1: I have a Mendela effect on that one. I have
- 48:33Speaker 1: been forever saying great Grand trick of the day, and
- 48:37Speaker 1: I watched it again. Oh that's way wrong. I don't
- 48:40Speaker 1: know why that was that one, but I was like, oh,
- 48:43Speaker 1: that's completely wrong. I've been misquoting.
- 48:45Speaker 3: That one for so Yeah, that's funny.
- 48:47Speaker 4: Does he say that about the banana later?
- 48:49Speaker 1: Grand wonderful? Oh he does, that's where it comes from.
- 48:55Speaker 4: I wonderful today. That's funny.
- 49:04Speaker 3: Hey, look, everybody, Billy Peter's pants. Of course, I peed
- 49:07Speaker 3: my pants. Everyone my age piece and pants. It's the coolest. Really, Yes,
- 49:11Speaker 3: you ain't cool unless you pee your pants. Hey, look,
- 49:14Speaker 3: Ernie Pete his pants too, all right. That kid is
- 49:17Speaker 3: so funny, by the way, that little chubby kid.
- 49:21Speaker 4: Yea, he was gres.
- 49:23Speaker 3: He was so funny. Dude, yeah, so funny. And you
- 49:30Speaker 3: can just hear like, yeah, but the if your pants
- 49:37Speaker 3: is cool, consider me Miles Davis. Guys, that was the
- 49:42Speaker 3: grossest thing I've ever heard in my life. That was
- 49:47Speaker 3: great Today was always hor And then he gets the
- 50:02Speaker 3: ear bowl and he's going on and on about it
- 50:05Speaker 3: he can't hear, and then it ends with so hot
- 50:09Speaker 3: I want to touch the heine. That was always I
- 50:17Speaker 3: swear to God, I'm sick. I can't go to school.
- 50:19Speaker 3: If you're going to stay home today, you can help
- 50:21Speaker 3: me shave my arm pits.
- 50:23Speaker 4: Oh my god, I'll go to school.
- 50:30Speaker 3: Oh just the back to school, to school to prove
- 50:35Speaker 3: to that that I'm not a fool. Yeah, I did
- 50:37Speaker 3: that all the time. If there is any attempt for
- 50:43Speaker 3: either contestant to cheat, especially with my wife, who is
- 50:46Speaker 3: a dirty, dirty tramp, I'm just gonna snap. That guy's
- 50:52Speaker 3: whole backstory is amazing. And then when you look at
- 50:56Speaker 3: the decathlon, like the Jeopardy categories and it's all like
- 50:59Speaker 3: my wife Trump and there's like six of the categories
- 51:05Speaker 3: about his cheating wife. And then I'll end just with
- 51:11Speaker 3: oh my god, old man Clement's hate sheer he comes,
- 51:16Speaker 3: Who the hell is it? What do you want? Judas
- 51:18Speaker 3: Priest Barbara, it's one of those flaming bags again. Don't
- 51:22Speaker 3: put it out with your boots, Ted, don't tell me
- 51:25Speaker 3: my business, devil woman. Call the fire department. This one's
- 51:28Speaker 3: out of control. Back poop again, he called the poop.
- 51:36Speaker 3: This is the best night of my life. Oh get
- 51:38Speaker 3: you damn kids for this.
- 51:40Speaker 1: You're all gonna die up to that.
- 51:42Speaker 4: He's like, you're all gonna die, like he puts the
- 51:46Speaker 4: the schwab before it.
- 51:50Speaker 1: Dron like that costume on that guy is so funny, perfect,
- 51:56Speaker 1: it's so good, so good.
- 52:00Speaker 4: Gee, I can't wait till I go to high school.
- 52:02Speaker 4: Don't you say that don't you ever say that, stay here,
- 52:07Speaker 4: stay as long as you can. But the love of God,
- 52:11Speaker 4: cherish it.
- 52:12Speaker 3: You gotta cherish it. You know, the cheeks just like.
- 52:16Speaker 4: Oh my God, it's so good, so very intense, really
- 52:20Speaker 4: really good.
- 52:22Speaker 5: God give me.
- 52:23Speaker 4: The answer is really great. I love that anytime he.
- 52:27Speaker 3: Just screams basically, it's also she puts the clothes back on.
- 52:31Speaker 4: Yes, Also the beginning part when he's like I think
- 52:37Speaker 4: Eric says some snotty line to him and he's like
- 52:39Speaker 4: a shut up, and then he's just like sawry Daddy,
- 52:45Speaker 4: I always cracked it up.
- 52:46Speaker 3: I love that.
- 52:47Speaker 4: The line that we haven't said, that we've all you know,
- 52:50Speaker 4: danced around is the mister Madison, what you've just said
- 52:53Speaker 4: is one of the most insanely idiotic things I've ever heard.
- 52:57Speaker 4: At no point in your rambling incoherent respond were you
- 53:00Speaker 4: even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought.
- 53:04Speaker 4: Everyone in this room is now tummer for having listen
- 53:07Speaker 4: to it. I award you no points, and may God
- 53:10Speaker 4: have mercy on your soul. Okay, that's simple wrong, would
- 53:13Speaker 4: have done just fine. But okay, the.
- 53:16Speaker 1: Last sentence is what makes it so funny for me.
- 53:19Speaker 1: Make God have mercy on yourself and.
- 53:22Speaker 4: Make God have mercy on your soul.
- 53:27Speaker 1: In my brain, I do the shampoo line every time
- 53:29Speaker 1: I use shampoo every time.
- 53:32Speaker 3: Every time. I love it.
- 53:33Speaker 4: Every time shampoo.
- 53:36Speaker 3: My wife.
- 53:37Speaker 1: My wife has a friend whose last name is Swan,
- 53:39Speaker 1: So every time I see her, I like, stop looking
- 53:41Speaker 1: at me.
- 53:43Speaker 3: Every time looking at me. That might be the quote
- 53:46Speaker 3: of the movie, like a million times's like, yeah, never gets.
- 53:50Speaker 4: Old, stop looking at me. Also, when they break out
- 53:56Speaker 4: in song, it's so funny because you can break a speirit.
- 54:00Speaker 4: You can even do you have any more? Come?
- 54:03Speaker 3: More?
- 54:03Speaker 4: Come more?
- 54:04Speaker 1: Come more?
- 54:05Speaker 3: Come more? Come?
- 54:06Speaker 4: Do you have any more?
- 54:08Speaker 3: Come? When the clown gets up, I bet you thought
- 54:14Speaker 3: that I was dead. I haven't ridged my head.
- 54:22Speaker 4: So good. I love that whole scene. I should have
- 54:25Speaker 4: said it actually for that. Let's see. Uh so it's
- 54:31Speaker 4: the last day third grade and you have your teacher
- 54:33Speaker 4: alone in your tent. What do you want to do? Well?
- 54:37Speaker 4: I can think of three things I'd like to do.
- 54:39Speaker 4: One would involve some ice cubes and a nine iron.
- 54:41Speaker 4: Two would in club, would include a buffalo, really live
- 54:46Speaker 4: or stuff preferably stuffed for safety sake, of course. And
- 54:51Speaker 4: three we bring back those ice cubes and switch it
- 54:53Speaker 4: over to a pitching wedge and then just just to
- 54:55Speaker 4: crack me up.
- 54:58Speaker 1: What did you imagine they were doing that stuff?
- 55:00Speaker 4: I have no idea hitting ice cubes with the clubs.
- 55:06Speaker 4: I don't know they wanted a little more water. I
- 55:09Speaker 4: don't know.
- 55:11Speaker 3: But dude, when Carl then comes in, I say that,
- 55:14Speaker 3: good Car, I say that quite a bit.
- 55:20Speaker 4: Yeah, yes, Carl, good to see you. Absolutely comes up.
- 55:25Speaker 4: Oh that's really fun.
- 55:27Speaker 3: Another one that I would say quite a bit is.
- 55:30Speaker 4: Did you see that guy's bills?
- 55:32Speaker 3: Yeah? They were weird looking.
- 55:36Speaker 4: Uh, that silly penguin is back. It's too damn hot
- 55:40Speaker 4: for peng Wind just be walking around out here. I
- 55:43Speaker 4: got to send it back to the South Pole. Call
- 55:46Speaker 4: the zoo.
- 55:49Speaker 1: Very often, do the business, yess.
- 55:56Speaker 4: Also Newdi magazine day was a lot brote mye a
- 56:00Speaker 4: lot magazine? What day is it?
- 56:05Speaker 3: October's magazine?
- 56:10Speaker 1: So there's this one outtake scene that was really weird there.
- 56:14Speaker 1: I don't know. I just thought of this, probably because
- 56:15Speaker 1: of the pigeon dunch things. But they were like in
- 56:18Speaker 1: it was in grade school and they were in a
- 56:21Speaker 1: locker room like changing like gym class and Ernie's all
- 56:24Speaker 1: like covered up, and there's like one of the o'doyle
- 56:28Speaker 1: kids and some of the other kids are like making
- 56:30Speaker 1: fun of him or whatever. And then Billy comes in
- 56:33Speaker 1: because they're like making fun of him because I guess
- 56:35Speaker 1: because he has a little wiener. And then Billy Madison
- 56:37Speaker 1: comes in. He's like hey, and they're all like staring,
- 56:42Speaker 1: and he's like, what's up, dude, how's it going? What's up?
- 56:46Speaker 1: And then this little like nerdy African American kid walks
- 56:49Speaker 1: by and they're all like looking at him, and then
- 56:52Speaker 1: Billy Madison like shies away into the locker.
- 56:55Speaker 3: Wow.
- 56:56Speaker 1: I think they kind of because it was weird to
- 56:57Speaker 1: beat him with kids making it room.
- 57:00Speaker 3: So funny though, Yeah, it makes sense why that is
- 57:04Speaker 3: really funny.
- 57:05Speaker 4: That's really funny. Another one I really liked was the
- 57:09Speaker 4: old lady when she's just just like, what is a horseshoe?
- 57:14Speaker 4: What does a horseshoe do?
- 57:16Speaker 1: Already?
- 57:16Speaker 4: Horse socks? Is anybody listening to me? So good?
- 57:22Speaker 1: I do that, anybody?
- 57:29Speaker 4: It's just so dominant. I love it so much.
- 57:36Speaker 3: I'll turn this damn bus around. That'll end your precious
- 57:39Speaker 3: field trip pretty damn quick.
- 57:42Speaker 4: The redness that he achieves and that is really he's
- 57:47Speaker 4: just like in his mouth. Ah, we mentioned chlorophyll at
- 57:52Speaker 4: the top, but that line is so good. And then
- 57:54Speaker 4: when he follows it with you, No, I will not
- 57:57Speaker 4: make out with you.
- 57:59Speaker 3: I learn not to make out with you.
- 58:03Speaker 4: Whatever I said so many times in inappropriate moments. No,
- 58:07Speaker 4: I will not make out with you. It's out of nowhere.
- 58:11Speaker 4: Love it. Oh, really good stuff. That's a lot the schloppy.
- 58:19Speaker 4: Joe's kind of said that.
- 58:22Speaker 3: Yeah, we kind of mentioned that. There's something we've mentioned already,
- 58:25Speaker 3: but oh my god.
- 58:26Speaker 4: It's just just watch the movie.
- 58:28Speaker 3: I like them all, watch them. Well, let's let's move on.
- 58:33Speaker 3: Let's move on to bugs boohoo moments, the crying game.
- 58:38Speaker 3: I probably should have put one in there because maybe
- 58:41Speaker 3: back in the day you found some stuff I can't admit.
- 58:46Speaker 3: I mean, it's usually this last time. So that's why
- 58:49Speaker 3: I'm going with zero.
- 58:51Speaker 1: Yeah, me too, I'm gonna be super shay. Yeah, I'm
- 58:55Speaker 1: just trying to think if there's even any maybe like
- 58:58Speaker 1: the Ernie where he have oute but that's the only
- 59:01Speaker 1: thing that.
- 59:01Speaker 3: Is funny though.
- 59:03Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I was worried before watching this. I'm
- 59:08Speaker 4: happy to report it was none. It feels appropriate that
- 59:11Speaker 4: there's okay, yes it does. I feel like we'd really
- 59:14Speaker 4: have to be looking ourselves in the mirror a little
- 59:16Speaker 4: bit for like, what are we doing here?
- 59:19Speaker 3: Pal, come on now?
- 59:22Speaker 4: But yes, there was a nun. This is a zero.
- 59:26Speaker 4: Let's go through and get some movie trivia thoughs. There's
- 59:28Speaker 4: quite a few of these. During the school bus scene,
- 59:31Speaker 4: Chris Farley turning bright red in aggravation was improvised, and
- 59:35Speaker 4: according to Adam Sandler, Chris, before filming the scene, down
- 59:40Speaker 4: six entire cups of espresso, and he would do that
- 59:43Speaker 4: in most of his other movies to maintain his trademark
- 59:46Speaker 4: manic energy.
- 59:48Speaker 3: I had heard that with Tommy Boy too, like he
- 59:51Speaker 3: would just have like fifteen cups of coffee and just
- 59:55Speaker 3: like he was just crazy.
- 59:57Speaker 4: I would die, I think, yeah, yikes.
- 1:00:00Speaker 3: But well they only got to thirty three true.
- 1:00:03Speaker 4: Chris Barley's quote the good, great grand wonderful is the
- 1:00:08Speaker 4: same quote that his character gave in Airheads, which we
- 1:00:10Speaker 4: the aforementioned, which that was fun, uh turing the dodgeball scene,
- 1:00:16Speaker 4: which we maybe should have brought up to because that
- 1:00:18Speaker 4: was pretty funny. Now you're all, that's right, you did? Yeah, yeah,
- 1:00:22Speaker 4: now you're all in big trouble. Adam Sandler hit the
- 1:00:25Speaker 4: kids with the dogball as hard as he possibly could.
- 1:00:28Speaker 4: They had to edit away to cut away quickly after
- 1:00:32Speaker 4: each hit, so they didn't show the children crying.
- 1:00:37Speaker 3: So bad. It's so bad, but it was so funny.
- 1:00:44Speaker 4: You can tell he's given it.
- 1:00:45Speaker 3: He's given it as all for sure. But just the
- 1:00:49Speaker 3: were like, well we got to and it wasn't any
- 1:00:51Speaker 3: like nut shots, Like he was just getting these kids
- 1:00:53Speaker 3: in their legs.
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: And I just have another quote we never texted me
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: when she reads that story about a dog.
- 1:01:00Speaker 4: Oh my god, you get your find that talk. Yes,
- 1:01:09Speaker 4: let's get a recess or whatever. Time for recess?
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: Uh colors the duck blue?
- 1:01:16Speaker 4: Oh yeah, I love the blue tuck. Frankly, I just
- 1:01:19Speaker 4: wanted to see a blue tuck. She's like, it's a
- 1:01:23Speaker 4: great talkastic.
- 1:01:30Speaker 3: Yes, but miss Slippy's car is green. Okay, sorry, but.
- 1:01:39Speaker 4: The kids did I have one more? After he did
- 1:01:42Speaker 4: hit him like crazy with with the dodgeballs. But the
- 1:01:46Speaker 4: kids did love to play with him, often jumping and
- 1:01:49Speaker 4: tackling him and stuff, so they were having a nice time.
- 1:01:51Speaker 4: I guess so. Bradley Whitford apparently has never seen this
- 1:01:57Speaker 4: movie after it was released, or didn't for a while,
- 1:02:01Speaker 4: and according to his brother, people would just often walk
- 1:02:05Speaker 4: up to him and shout business evics, and he said
- 1:02:10Speaker 4: he was very.
- 1:02:12Speaker 3: Love for a while. Oh dude, he's had this whole
- 1:02:16Speaker 3: run like West Wing and like.
- 1:02:25Speaker 4: Adam Sandler said that Billy is the closest I've ever
- 1:02:28Speaker 4: come to playing myself, which is brave to say, honestly.
- 1:02:33Speaker 3: But yeah, that's kind of what Max was too.
- 1:02:37Speaker 4: Though he co wrote the script, Adam Sandler also ad
- 1:02:40Speaker 4: libbed a lot of his performance. Uh and the director
- 1:02:43Speaker 4: Tamara Davis said that it was important to let Adam
- 1:02:47Speaker 4: be Adam and choos right. They nailed it. When Billy
- 1:02:51Speaker 4: Madison apologizes to Danny McGrath for being mean to him
- 1:02:55Speaker 4: in high school, Danny crossed Billy's name off the people
- 1:02:58Speaker 4: to Kill list, you know, the eight other people left
- 1:03:02Speaker 4: on the list, well crew members of the movie. So
- 1:03:05Speaker 4: I thought that was fun.
- 1:03:06Speaker 3: I love that, And we didn't even mention Steve Bmi.
- 1:03:10Speaker 3: He was so great and then he just puts the
- 1:03:12Speaker 3: lipstick on. You're like, yeah, yeah, really, Glad, I called that.
- 1:03:15Speaker 4: Guy, call that guy in the famous insult that the
- 1:03:20Speaker 4: academic to Caathlin Judge gives to Billy after giving his speech,
- 1:03:23Speaker 4: he tells him everyone in this room is now dummer
- 1:03:25Speaker 4: for having listened to you. Jim Downey would often say
- 1:03:28Speaker 4: this for real, apparently to Chris Farley whenever he pitched
- 1:03:31Speaker 4: sketches in the writer's meetings. So that was a lie
- 1:03:35Speaker 4: that you would say, which I think is really funny,
- 1:03:39Speaker 4: especially having heard like David Spade we'll talk about Chris
- 1:03:43Speaker 4: would be so nervous before those pitch meetings and would
- 1:03:46Speaker 4: try to come up with something funny and it just
- 1:03:47Speaker 4: never was, I guess, and it was all like a
- 1:03:50Speaker 4: running bit, really great stuff.
- 1:03:53Speaker 3: Let's see.
- 1:03:54Speaker 4: In real life, Adam Sandler's mom is a nursery school
- 1:03:57Speaker 4: teacher and this is her favorite movie of his way
- 1:04:01Speaker 4: to go Mom, okay a get lunch, Lady Land. We
- 1:04:07Speaker 4: already mentioned from They're All Gonna Laugh at You. One
- 1:04:11Speaker 4: of the students mentions the video game Mortal Kombat, which
- 1:04:14Speaker 4: is a funny scene in himself. But of course Bridge
- 1:04:17Speaker 4: in sanpri Has plays Sony Blade in the film adaptation
- 1:04:21Speaker 4: in ninety five, Mortal Combat was great and I'll hear
- 1:04:27Speaker 4: nothing nothing against it ever, Unlike Billy Adam Sandler donkey
- 1:04:36Speaker 4: come sucks. I disagree. I think it's like the most
- 1:04:39Speaker 4: coherent thing he says ever in the whole movie. Unlike Billy,
- 1:04:44Speaker 4: Adam Sandler went to NYU for college and he studied
- 1:04:49Speaker 4: the method acting at the Strasburg Institute.
- 1:04:53Speaker 3: So that's so nil that he did that before and
- 1:04:57Speaker 3: then he does is yeah they do.
- 1:05:01Speaker 4: I hate Kershieven, I hate all of you. I love
- 1:05:05Speaker 4: that line so much. Oh god, the whole when he's
- 1:05:10Speaker 4: talking gibberish and he's like, nice to see you, Billy,
- 1:05:13Speaker 4: and he's like cabba he.
- 1:05:17Speaker 3: Yea, look, it's so great.
- 1:05:20Speaker 4: I love it.
- 1:05:20Speaker 3: Yeah, that was all I have. Cool. So, Tamar Davis
- 1:05:28Speaker 3: was not the original director. Stephen Kessler was hired at
- 1:05:33Speaker 3: Sandler's request. He began the film and after three days
- 1:05:38Speaker 3: on set, Kessler was fired because they couldn't get any
- 1:05:42Speaker 3: good material out of Sandler and they were running behind.
- 1:05:46Speaker 3: So yeah, Universal brought in Davis because they liked her
- 1:05:50Speaker 3: work on CB four.
- 1:05:52Speaker 4: It worked. Yeah, I could see this crew not being
- 1:05:56Speaker 4: easy to work with, you know, for everybody, so that
- 1:05:59Speaker 4: makes yeah.
- 1:06:05Speaker 3: Charles Bronson turned down the role of Billy Madison's father. Wow,
- 1:06:10Speaker 3: it'd be interesting. Can't picture that really? Sadler originally wrote
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: the role of Eric for Bob oden Kirk, but Universal
- 1:06:21Speaker 3: wouldn't allow it. They didn't want Adam to use the
- 1:06:23Speaker 3: movie as an excuse to invite all of his friends,
- 1:06:26Speaker 3: which he would later do in all the other movies
- 1:06:32Speaker 3: You said the Philip Seymour Hoffman bit Leslie Nielsen was
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: offered the role of Brian Madison, but he disliked the
- 1:06:39Speaker 3: film's humor and past interesting. Bridget Wilson Sampress was only
- 1:06:45Speaker 3: twenty years old during the filming, and Universal thought she
- 1:06:49Speaker 3: was too young to play Veronica. They wanted a slightly
- 1:06:51Speaker 3: older actress to play the role. Carla Gugino was suggested,
- 1:06:56Speaker 3: but Sadler felt he had more chemistry with Wilson Sampress.
- 1:07:01Speaker 3: That was all I had. Cool, Did you have anything else?
- 1:07:04Speaker 4: Max? I know?
- 1:07:07Speaker 3: Uh, well, will there be a sequel?
- 1:07:10Speaker 4: Judgment day not a direct sequel, but maybe they're making
- 1:07:15Speaker 4: Happy gilmore too.
- 1:07:16Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know. I feel like he's like I
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: don't know if he would touch this one, but like
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: he's pulling out, Like I feel like he's moving towards
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: like dirtier stuff. Maybe it's now that his kids holder
- 1:07:26Speaker 1: or something like in his later years, I'll go back
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: to it. And if he's doing happy Gilmore too. I
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: mean maybe what would the plot I feel like to
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: be going back to college or something, going to.
- 1:07:39Speaker 4: College, back to college, like he's been rolling the.
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: Company and he's going to go get a college degree.
- 1:07:44Speaker 4: Yes, sounds fun.
- 1:07:47Speaker 3: It'd be like back to.
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: School with Rodney Dangerfield kind of like some some like
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: but one of my.
- 1:07:52Speaker 4: Karen, you know, foreign conglomerate is going to buy his
- 1:07:56Speaker 4: father's business unless he gets a college degree and figures
- 1:07:59Speaker 4: out how to say or something.
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: Or like now Carl's dying, so he has to actually
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: take the company. Good to c was that part of
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: it was he was giving Carl the company.
- 1:08:10Speaker 3: And he was he was going to be a teacher.
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: Maybe can't get his he can't like get his teaching
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: degree until he gets this goes to college. Sure, that'd
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: be funny, like he's all like straight and normal now
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: and then he goes back to college and drinks and
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: reverts to like old Billy and then has to fight
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: his way out.
- 1:08:28Speaker 4: To find your joy again, Billy. They just hand him
- 1:08:33Speaker 4: sun tan and he squirts a smiley face on his belly.
- 1:08:35Speaker 4: It's like I'm ready.
- 1:08:38Speaker 3: I'm ready. Yeah, i'd watch it.
- 1:08:42Speaker 4: I'll check. We can figure something out something where it
- 1:08:44Speaker 4: would work.
- 1:08:46Speaker 3: Yeah. Well, uh you guys want to play a game. Yeah,
- 1:08:52Speaker 3: I made a game. We did a quotes game. I
- 1:08:55Speaker 3: decided to make a quotes game.
- 1:08:57Speaker 4: Guys.
- 1:08:59Speaker 3: I don't remember what we ended up calling it. What
- 1:09:01Speaker 3: were we calling it? Bukes something? Uh So, I'm going
- 1:09:06Speaker 3: to say a quote from a film, and I want
- 1:09:08Speaker 3: you to give me three things. You're gonna give me
- 1:09:11Speaker 3: the title of the film, the actor who said it,
- 1:09:14Speaker 3: and the character name. Uh So, you can get three
- 1:09:17Speaker 3: points for each quote. If you get any of those wrong,
- 1:09:21Speaker 3: you don't lose any points, but the other person can
- 1:09:24Speaker 3: come in and answer for those points. All of these
- 1:09:28Speaker 3: from a bunch of movies or just this one. Oh,
- 1:09:31Speaker 3: it's from ten different movies, and all of them will
- 1:09:34Speaker 3: have something in common. When you know the theme, you
- 1:09:37Speaker 3: can ring in at any time for a point. So
- 1:09:42Speaker 3: here we go, nam, Oh yes, you ring in with
- 1:09:46Speaker 3: your name? Thank you? Good so I know he was
- 1:09:49Speaker 3: ringing in. Good call you guys. Good to go.
- 1:09:53Speaker 4: Yes, all right, let's do it.
- 1:09:57Speaker 3: Number one. Am you people go back to your shanties, Bukes, Bukes.
- 1:10:05Speaker 4: That's Shooter McGavin from Happy Gilmore.
- 1:10:10Speaker 3: And the Accurate.
- 1:10:11Speaker 4: I can't remember his.
- 1:10:12Speaker 3: Name, but yes, you have those right five Chris four?
- 1:10:21Speaker 4: I remember what I should know it?
- 1:10:24Speaker 3: What Pepe pete? Max?
- 1:10:25Speaker 4: You know it?
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: I want my brain, says Chris McGovern. I don't think
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: that's right.
- 1:10:31Speaker 3: You're close, you got You're close. I'm gonna give Max half.
- 1:10:37Speaker 3: I'm gonna give you two points. Uh it's Christopher McDonald donald.
- 1:10:45Speaker 4: Oh what's Chris though? Hey, look at it?
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: Done right.
- 1:10:47Speaker 4: I'll take that.
- 1:10:50Speaker 3: You got it?
- 1:10:51Speaker 4: People go back to your shafties. We had him do
- 1:10:54Speaker 4: a cameo for us Max when we did Happy Gilmourt
- 1:10:57Speaker 4: was the best, the best we did. It was very expensive.
- 1:11:01Speaker 3: He still goes all out on shoot with Shooter McGavin.
- 1:11:03Speaker 3: It's great. Was it like it was a couple. It
- 1:11:10Speaker 3: was too It was more than we should have spent,
- 1:11:12Speaker 3: but we really want.
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: I had some friends for like their cey to release show.
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: They got one from Gilbert Godfred so he put a
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: He just yelled, yelled about their band.
- 1:11:23Speaker 4: That's really cool.
- 1:11:24Speaker 3: That's pretty great. All right? Number two? Are you keeping score? Beats?
- 1:11:29Speaker 4: I got it?
- 1:11:30Speaker 3: You got it cool? All right. Number two, that's something
