- Lucas: Welcome back to Learn Danish with Fexingo. I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna. Ready to review our ordinal numbers? Lucas: Yes. We learned first through twelfth in the last few episodes. Let's practice. Luna: Okay. First is 'første', second 'anden', third 'tredje'. Lucas: Good. Fourth is 'fjerde', fifth 'femte', sixth 'sjette'. Luna: Seventh is 'syvende', eighth 'ottende', ninth 'niende'. Lucas: Yes. Tenth 'tiende', eleventh 'ellevte', twelfth 'tolvte'. Luna: Let me try all: første, anden, tredje, fjerde, femte, sjette, syvende, ottende, niende, tiende, ellevte, tolvte. Lucas: Perfect! Now let's use them. If someone asks 'Hvornår er din fødselsdag?' — When is your birthday? Luna: Min fødselsdag er den tredje marts. My birthday is March third. Lucas: Great. And if you live on a certain floor? 'Hvilken etage bor du på?' — Which floor do you live on? Luna: Jeg bor på femte etage. I live on the fifth floor. Lucas: Excellent. Now a sentence with 'first': 'Det er første gang, jeg prøver det.' — It's the first time I try that. Luna: Det er første gang, jeg prøver det. Hmm, that's useful. Lucas: And 'He came second in the race' — 'Han kom på andenpladsen i løbet.' Luna: Han kom på andenpladsen i løbet. Second place. Lucas: You got it. Let's do a quick drill. I'll say a number in English, you say the Danish ordinal. Luna: Okay, hit me. Lucas: First. Luna: Første. Lucas: Fourth. Luna: Fjerde. Lucas: Seventh. Luna: Syvende. Lucas: Eleventh. Luna: Ellevte. Oh, that one's tricky. Lucas: You nailed it. If Fexingo has been helping you make actual progress with Danish, we want to keep it ad-free. We deliberately don't run ads on these. If you want to support that choice, the link is buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. Luna: Yeah, it's a great way to support the show without any interruption. Lucas: Let's keep practicing. What about twelfth? Luna: Tolvte. That one's also a bit different. Lucas: Yes, but you said it right. Now, a little phrase: 'Det er den tolvte december.' — It's the twelfth of December. Luna: Det er den tolvte december. I can use that for my birthday? No, mine is third. Lucas: Exactly. Keep practicing these. They're very common in dates and rankings. Luna: I will. Thanks, Lucas. Lucas: You're welcome. Practice these till we chat again. Hej hej! Luna: Hej hej!
