- 0:00Speaker 1: The Relatables podcast is hosted by myself, Audie Clark aka Mummy,
- 0:03Speaker 1: and my partner in crime is the Jake Craig aka Daddy,
- 0:06Speaker 1: who's still not here, but we're just thinking about it.
- 0:10Speaker 1: I think this is the longest break we've ever had
- 0:12Speaker 1: from each other. It's well over a month. But next
- 0:15Speaker 1: week we are back together in normal recordings and that
- 0:18Speaker 1: will be the first episode back as this episode is
- 0:21Speaker 1: still another trip down memory lane. I really liked the
- 0:24Speaker 1: last one and how it turned out, I guess just
- 0:27Speaker 1: a bit of reflection and today's episode Jake has actually picked.
- 0:31Speaker 1: But before we get into that, I just want to
- 0:33Speaker 1: plug our Patreon and this is probably the most important
- 0:37Speaker 1: plug there's ever been for our Patreon because it's the
- 0:40Speaker 1: last time you can ever get the membership for five
- 0:43Speaker 1: dollars and what you get is the next episode every
- 0:46Speaker 1: single week, and exclusive episode the book Club five days,
- 0:49Speaker 1: early extended versions of Dilemmas and other episodes, and the
- 0:53Speaker 1: community over there. The baddies over there are baddying, and
- 0:57Speaker 1: you can lock your price in for five dollars because
- 0:59Speaker 1: the prices are raising, And to touch on that point,
- 1:01Speaker 1: if you are already abaut your membership price will not change,
- 1:05Speaker 1: so lock that in before. We raised them in about
- 1:09Speaker 1: a week or two. But getting to the episode today, guys,
- 1:13Speaker 1: Jake has picked it. He said, we were talking about
- 1:15Speaker 1: it and he said, I was like, oh, what's a
- 1:16Speaker 1: good episode that like you really remember, like left the
- 1:20Speaker 1: mark in your brain, And he said, the first time
- 1:22Speaker 1: we did the Bare Minimum four men. So this episode
- 1:26Speaker 1: came out in twenty twenty four on the thirteenth of May,
- 1:31Speaker 1: so it's a long time ago. And this kind of
- 1:34Speaker 1: started a bit of a snowball effect because the Bare
- 1:36Speaker 1: minim for men went super viral for us, which we
- 1:39Speaker 1: are very grateful for. And I think we got a
- 1:43Speaker 1: lot of new listeners from that. So we owe quite
- 1:46Speaker 1: a bit to the Bare Minimum four Men. And also,
- 1:49Speaker 1: I just guess the concept itself is I guess, sort
- 1:54Speaker 1: of putting men in their place, but also uplifting them
- 1:56Speaker 1: and telling them to raise their standards, like come on,
- 1:59Speaker 1: come on, so Battis, we will see you next week
- 2:02Speaker 1: back in our normal studio, but please enjoy the Bare
- 2:05Speaker 1: Minimum for Men. Coming up on relatables was the bare
- 2:08Speaker 1: minimum for the modern man being there for cuddle time.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Ooh, I like that as much as we aren't. I mean,
- 2:17Speaker 2: I actually liked so. The bare minimum for the modern
- 2:21Speaker 2: woman is it's okay to be the big experience, sometimes.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Relatable. You are listening to relatables. Welcome back, everybody to
- 2:41Speaker 1: another episode today. I am joined on my right by
- 2:45Speaker 1: my better looking, shorter mister Jake Craig. That's started so good.
- 2:54Speaker 2: And to my left is the non car door opening
- 2:57Speaker 2: for his girlfriend Oddie class Hey, don't expose me, I
- 3:05Speaker 2: would like to point out, I don't. We went out
- 3:08Speaker 2: for dinner, Oddie.
- 3:10Speaker 1: My girlfriend.
- 3:12Speaker 2: Sorry, yeah, Oddie, his girlfriend, me, my girlfriend, and some
- 3:16Speaker 2: other friends.
- 3:16Speaker 3: We were leaving, okay, I could see. I could see
- 3:21Speaker 3: them going to their car, and I could see that
- 3:23Speaker 3: he had forgotten, although he never does it, he had
- 3:27Speaker 3: forgotten to open her door for her. And then as
- 3:28Speaker 3: soon as I noticed she was going to have to
- 3:30Speaker 3: open it, it was too late.
- 3:31Speaker 1: I had to.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Called him out.
- 3:33Speaker 1: That's how did to help?
- 3:34Speaker 2: You?
- 3:35Speaker 1: See what I did?
- 3:36Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 3:36Speaker 2: So you jump in and open it through the other side,
- 3:38Speaker 2: you sucking cheat?
- 3:41Speaker 1: Still did it? Wow? I do do it when I
- 3:45Speaker 1: pick it up in her house because it's like I remember,
- 3:47Speaker 1: because as we're walking out of her house, you get
- 3:49Speaker 1: out yeah, you see her card office her cardof First,
- 3:53Speaker 1: I would like to point out that we went and
- 3:57Speaker 1: picked up a puppy, yes the other day, and we
- 4:02Speaker 1: didn't take my car.
- 4:03Speaker 2: So my car, I drive a little tiny car, do
- 4:05Speaker 2: I didn't want to drive a three hours on the
- 4:06Speaker 2: freeway and but my car doesn't doesn't have the clickie fob.
- 4:09Speaker 2: I have to go manually, and so it works in
- 4:12Speaker 2: my advantage because I always remember to open the door
- 4:14Speaker 2: for her. Okay, But we used my girlfriend's dad's car,
- 4:19Speaker 2: and the first, like the morning we were leaving, was
- 4:23Speaker 2: the first time we were getting in it. I went
- 4:25Speaker 2: over and I realized. I was like, oh, I can
- 4:26Speaker 2: open it from here. And I opened it and I
- 4:29Speaker 2: had forgot. I was about to go open my door
- 4:31Speaker 2: and I forgot, and she also had like forgotten, but
- 4:34Speaker 2: I don't know how I did. I quickly locked it
- 4:36Speaker 2: again and she tried to open it and it wouldn't.
- 4:38Speaker 1: I went around. I was like, just be patient, and
- 4:41Speaker 1: so she didn't even know you forgot. I was about
- 4:45Speaker 1: to say, your key technique is kind of a cop out.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Is it, though? Because I don't forget. No, because you
- 4:50Speaker 2: have to do it anyway. You have to unlock her car. Now,
- 4:53Speaker 2: if I unlocked my door, it opens all the doors.
- 4:55Speaker 2: Oh okay, so I can open So I do still
- 4:58Speaker 2: go open her door first?
- 5:00Speaker 1: Give you that? Yeah, how fun. I'll get better. But Jake, today,
- 5:07Speaker 1: I wanted to start things with what's the bare minimum
- 5:10Speaker 1: for the modern man? Yeah? And I thought, because things
- 5:14Speaker 1: are changing in society, the standard for men is very different. Yeah,
- 5:19Speaker 1: so I thought we could compose a bit of a
- 5:20Speaker 1: list to help the dudes out there. I think that I.
- 5:22Speaker 2: Think there's there is some some women out there that
- 5:25Speaker 2: are saying like, no, no, no, I need I need
- 5:28Speaker 2: more than the bare minimum. Right, So we would like
- 5:30Speaker 2: to give you, guys, guys and girls the bare minimum
- 5:34Speaker 2: so you know that that's what you deserve.
- 5:36Speaker 1: And more exactly. Yeah, you want to start on me,
- 5:40Speaker 1: you go first. Okay, what's the bare minimum for the
- 5:42Speaker 1: modern man? Planning romantic dates? Often?
- 5:46Speaker 2: Hey? I like that simple. It's not hard, it's not hard.
- 5:49Speaker 2: It's really okay if you really think about it. Yeah,
- 5:52Speaker 2: some guys are just like, oh, I don't like doing that.
- 5:54Speaker 2: I mean, I think who doesn't actually enjoy going out
- 5:58Speaker 2: for a nice dinner and you're also not doing it
- 6:00Speaker 2: for them? Yeah, you're not doing it for yourself. You
- 6:02Speaker 2: do it for them. And this is what you do.
- 6:05Speaker 2: TikTok nice nice restaurants wherever you live in my area.
- 6:10Speaker 2: Someone's made a video about it online book two weeks,
- 6:15Speaker 2: five minutes maximum.
- 6:16Speaker 1: And who doesn't like nice food? I love the.
- 6:19Speaker 2: Act of actually going out, getting dressed up together, looking
- 6:22Speaker 2: good together, gassing each other.
- 6:26Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 6:28Speaker 2: I've got a couple. I've got a few simple ones
- 6:29Speaker 2: and a few like a little bit more intricate, but
- 6:30Speaker 2: I'm gonna go simple first, the bare minimum for the
- 6:33Speaker 2: modern man buy her flowers?
- 6:36Speaker 1: Love it? Yeah? Simple? And again I've got the similar
- 6:39Speaker 1: one I said, grocery shopping. Flowers are little gifts here
- 6:42Speaker 1: and there randomly, just pick them up. It's not hard,
- 6:44Speaker 1: it's not hard at all.
- 6:45Speaker 2: And it's always like, yeah, but what's she gonna get me?
- 6:47Speaker 2: What's the guy version of flowers?
- 6:48Speaker 1: You know what?
- 6:48Speaker 2: Fucking nothing? We don't need that ship.
- 6:53Speaker 1: That's a great point.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Honestly, we've done it before. We've asked everyone what's the
- 6:57Speaker 2: guy with fucking nothing?
- 7:00Speaker 1: Just fair? I like that one. What's the bare minimum
- 7:04Speaker 1: for the modern man? Being an emotional outlet for your girl?
- 7:08Speaker 2: Oh when she's venting. No logical solutions, all right, no
- 7:15Speaker 2: logical solutions. Be there emotionally, yes, be there emotionally bare
- 7:19Speaker 2: minimum for the modern man. Look at what face creams
- 7:23Speaker 2: and other ship she uses. All right, and buy her
- 7:26Speaker 2: a double to have in your bathroom. Wow, pack atoletry's
- 7:31Speaker 2: bagge all the time.
- 7:31Speaker 1: That's so smart, that's all. Imagine you did that, and
- 7:36Speaker 1: then in.
- 7:37Speaker 2: Your bathroom she's You're at her house, maybe she's packing
- 7:39Speaker 2: a bag to come to your house, and you're and
- 7:41Speaker 2: she's and she's packing up. You're like, well, you don't
- 7:43Speaker 2: need that. You don't need that, you don't need that.
- 7:44Speaker 2: She's like why, and she's like, I have it at
- 7:46Speaker 2: my house for you. The only thing with that. Sometimes
- 7:49Speaker 2: it's very very expensive that stuff. I'm talking just like
- 7:51Speaker 2: face creams, like face wash.
- 7:53Speaker 1: I would even just say toothbrush and toothpaste, stuff like that. Yeah,
- 7:56Speaker 1: just simple things. I wouldn't go.
- 7:58Speaker 2: Look, I'm thinking like if it's if it's over thirty bucks, if.
- 8:01Speaker 1: You really loves it, some of those creams get us
- 8:05Speaker 1: like two hundred dollars. It's fucking crazy.
- 8:07Speaker 2: Yeah, you got that Keels. Shit, I'm not paying I'm
- 8:10Speaker 2: not playing for keels.
- 8:12Speaker 1: What's the bare minimum for the modern man kind of
- 8:15Speaker 1: goes in hand with the last one. Being in touch
- 8:17Speaker 1: with your emotions. Yeah, being able to talk about how
- 8:21Speaker 1: you feel. Yeah, that's a big struggle for a lot
- 8:23Speaker 1: of guys.
- 8:24Speaker 2: Yeah. Actually, yeah, sometimes it's a little scary. I think
- 8:28Speaker 2: the biggest thing for me is the one thing that
- 8:31Speaker 2: makes me not want to talk about feelings, Like, one
- 8:33Speaker 2: of the biggest things is that I just I'm so
- 8:37Speaker 2: I'm a little bit scared about how they will react
- 8:42Speaker 2: because I don't want to word it improperly. Oh you
- 8:45Speaker 2: know what I mean, not being able to articulate it.
- 8:47Speaker 1: I don't want to.
- 8:48Speaker 2: I don't ever want to be like, oh you do this.
- 8:51Speaker 1: I might even changed being in touch with your feelings
- 8:53Speaker 1: to trying to be in touch with your feelings. Yeah.
- 8:55Speaker 1: I think it's the effort in trying to talk about
- 8:57Speaker 1: your feelings and they should appreciate that, even if you
- 8:59Speaker 1: do spit it out wrong.
- 9:00Speaker 2: Yeah, agreed, agreed, bare minimum for the modern man went
- 9:04Speaker 2: at a restaurant pull her chair out for her?
- 9:07Speaker 1: Is that it? That's it? Yeah?
- 9:09Speaker 2: Just agree, gentlemen being a gentleman and pull the chair.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Agree, What is it.
- 9:13Speaker 2: When you're going up as a dude. I don't know
- 9:15Speaker 2: what goes on in your mind. It's not is it
- 9:18Speaker 2: not cool? Like when I was eighteen nineteen twenty, There's
- 9:20Speaker 2: no way in the world I'll be doing something like that.
- 9:22Speaker 2: Is it because I'm not confident? I honestly think it's
- 9:24Speaker 2: just because I didn't know.
- 9:26Speaker 1: But I knew the thing of romantics, Like you pull
- 9:28Speaker 1: the chair, I knew the chair.
- 9:30Speaker 2: I don't think I've ever been afraid to do that.
- 9:31Speaker 2: I think I just always forget. I've never I've never
- 9:34Speaker 2: thought that.
- 9:35Speaker 1: I think I was afraid. No afraid.
- 9:37Speaker 2: I don't think I was never afraid. I was just
- 9:38Speaker 2: always I just forgot it.
- 9:40Speaker 1: Yeah, that's funny.
- 9:42Speaker 2: It's also a little bit awkward as all, because it's like,
- 9:44Speaker 2: so when you pull it out and she sits down,
- 9:46Speaker 2: do you then help her push it back in or
- 9:48Speaker 2: do you just let her scooch in on her own.
- 9:50Speaker 1: I've seen Russ from friends do it and he like
- 9:52Speaker 1: scooches you back in and it looks so awkward. We
- 9:55Speaker 1: don't want to be like, what's the bare minimum for
- 9:58Speaker 1: the modern man being there for cuddle time? Oh?
- 10:04Speaker 2: I like that as much as we aren't.
- 10:06Speaker 1: I mean, I actually like that cuddle, so I'm hidden
- 10:09Speaker 1: miss Yeah, I'm sometimes there for it, sometimes not, but
- 10:12Speaker 1: being there for them because they like cut of time.
- 10:14Speaker 1: It's sort of the thing they grow fonder when they're together. Yeah,
- 10:18Speaker 1: it's in those moments of cuddling, whereas where grow fonder
- 10:21Speaker 1: when we're apart. Yeah, agreed, agreed, I do agree with you.
- 10:24Speaker 2: I'm a big fan of though, like I don't know,
- 10:26Speaker 2: just kind of you're a bit of a big teddy bear. Yeah,
- 10:29Speaker 2: just kind of like I don't know, just acting like
- 10:33Speaker 2: a baby almost.
- 10:34Speaker 1: Like you should add on yours the bare minimum for
- 10:39Speaker 1: the modern man. It's okay to be the little spoon.
- 10:42Speaker 1: It's okay to be.
- 10:45Speaker 2: The bare minimum for the modern woman. Is it's okay
- 10:48Speaker 2: to be the big spirit sometimes bare minimum for the
- 10:55Speaker 2: modern man. When you're done your meal at the restaurant
- 11:00Speaker 2: and she has a few bites left because you're always
- 11:02Speaker 2: going to finish before her, Yeah, you say you need
- 11:04Speaker 2: the bathroom, but you actually go pay the bill.
- 11:07Speaker 1: Yours are like just cheeky little things that are really smart.
- 11:12Speaker 1: That's really good because normally they're like, oh no, i'll
- 11:16Speaker 1: pay this, you want to split it? Let's avoid the awkwardness.
- 11:18Speaker 2: And then like basically, when you come back from the toilet,
- 11:21Speaker 2: she's done, you just like how you're ready to go. Yeah,
- 11:23Speaker 2: and then you get up to go and she goes,
- 11:25Speaker 2: what about the bill?
- 11:25Speaker 1: And sorted. You know, that's one thing wrong with that me.
- 11:29Speaker 1: If she goes what about the bill, I'll be like,
- 11:30Speaker 1: let's run. I just paid it. So she was like,
- 11:37Speaker 1: but then I seem like a bad boy. True.
- 11:39Speaker 2: True, he also looks cheap.
- 11:41Speaker 1: Oh no, bad boy overrules. The cheapness was the bare
- 11:46Speaker 1: minimum for the modern man. Knowing what you want in
- 11:50Speaker 1: your future.
- 11:51Speaker 2: Oh oh that's such a good point. Every guy's kind
- 11:54Speaker 2: of like, I don't know what I want. I'm going
- 11:56Speaker 2: with the flow. Yeah, the words don't.
- 11:59Speaker 1: They don't lie like that. No, they just want to
- 12:01Speaker 1: know that.
- 12:01Speaker 2: They at least want to know if you plan to
- 12:03Speaker 2: get married one day, you want kids, and you want
- 12:05Speaker 2: to buy a house, or just the simple things.
- 12:07Speaker 1: And even if you don't tell them like say I
- 12:09Speaker 1: don't want to have kids.
- 12:10Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, be honest.
- 12:11Speaker 1: Yeah, from the start, I don't be like, oh I
- 12:13Speaker 1: don't know, you know, like you'll see what happens.
- 12:15Speaker 2: I actually really like that that's a really good one,
- 12:16Speaker 2: because I'm definitely guilty of doing it in the past,
- 12:19Speaker 2: like I don't know, I don't know I'm going to
- 12:20Speaker 2: be in two months, I don't know where I'm going
- 12:21Speaker 2: to be in a year, and just.
- 12:23Speaker 1: Giving them all this like you're going to be with me,
- 12:24Speaker 1: even I've never realized used to do that as well.
- 12:28Speaker 1: It's like I don't know what I'm doing this week.
- 12:29Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, I don't even know what to have
- 12:31Speaker 2: for breakfast.
- 12:35Speaker 1: All right, bare minimum for the modern man? Tell us
- 12:40Speaker 1: she looks beautiful, Yes, you are beautiful. Tell her she
- 12:45Speaker 1: looks beautiful. Man, pretty beautiful, stunning, gorgeous, smart, anything like that. Yeah,
- 12:49Speaker 1: let's go intellectual as well. Yeah, let's go smart, impressive.
- 12:52Speaker 1: I'm proud of you. I'm proud to be your boyfriend.
- 12:55Speaker 1: I'm lucky to be both. I'm lucky to be your boyfriend.
- 12:58Speaker 2: I admire you all that different stuf. Yeah, yeah, I
- 13:01Speaker 2: love you.
- 13:01Speaker 1: Rolls off the tongue. Dude, what's the bare minimum for
- 13:05Speaker 1: the modern man? Being able to take candid photos of
- 13:08Speaker 1: them without the masking? Okay, I'm sorry.
- 13:11Speaker 2: I would like to say, yes, that is something that
- 13:15Speaker 2: you should be able to do. Try again with the
- 13:18Speaker 2: try at least it's the effort being put in that
- 13:22Speaker 2: they will like. They will like the effort. And if
- 13:25Speaker 2: they say, oh, what are you taking photos for? Maybe
- 13:28Speaker 2: and like just be like, just say that you want
- 13:29Speaker 2: them for you.
- 13:31Speaker 1: Because I have.
- 13:32Speaker 2: A theory and I'm really sticking to it that girls
- 13:36Speaker 2: tell you that the photos you take are bad and
- 13:39Speaker 2: you have to take a million of them purely because
- 13:41Speaker 2: you're a boy and social media has told them the
- 13:43Speaker 2: boys can't take photos. I tend to agree, because I
- 13:46Speaker 2: swear to God, what I really want to do is
- 13:50Speaker 2: get me to take a photo her best friend to
- 13:52Speaker 2: take a photo, all right, the exact same one, all right,
- 13:56Speaker 2: and I want and she's gonna like the best friends
- 13:58Speaker 2: one for some reason, and she's gonna.
- 14:00Speaker 1: Hay mine and that's the exact same photo, exact same photo.
- 14:04Speaker 1: Bare minimum for the modern man. Send her funny memes. Yes, yes,
- 14:09Speaker 1: it's like another level to the relationship, and and reply
- 14:13Speaker 1: to her.
- 14:14Speaker 2: You should have put that one. Reply to her memes
- 14:17Speaker 2: another one, bare minim for the modern man. When she
- 14:20Speaker 2: sends you a text message of two questions in a row,
- 14:23Speaker 2: answer both of them. Don't just answer the most recent one.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Have you been caught out doing that?
- 14:29Speaker 2: Yes, I fucking suck at that.
- 14:33Speaker 1: I need to answer both because on text on my
- 14:35Speaker 1: message you can like click up the thing reply to
- 14:38Speaker 1: this one.
- 14:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm pretty Look, I'm pretty good at it.
- 14:41Speaker 1: I'm good at it.
- 14:41Speaker 2: The person I'm not good at it with is my sister.
- 14:44Speaker 1: So at it doesn't matter. What's the bare minimum for
- 14:53Speaker 1: the modern man making an effort with their friends? Oh,
- 14:58Speaker 1: to know them.
- 14:59Speaker 2: Ship, that's a good I would say I lack in
- 15:02Speaker 2: that area.
- 15:02Speaker 1: I think so too a little bit. It's just like,
- 15:05Speaker 1: as a guy, I can definitely do better. It's just
- 15:08Speaker 1: like I don't know, just I don't know why we
- 15:11Speaker 1: don't do it. Yeah, I don't have an answer.
- 15:13Speaker 2: I kind of want just making an effort of you
- 15:16Speaker 2: want to be part of their life.
- 15:17Speaker 1: I guess it's not just being there, being present.
- 15:19Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, if they have no friends and come lucky,
- 15:25Speaker 2: I'm our only friend.
- 15:27Speaker 1: My last one is bare minimum for the modern man.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Just use your brain, use your just in the situation
- 15:36Speaker 2: you're in, Just just use your brain.
- 15:39Speaker 1: Please. It's there for a reason.
- 15:41Speaker 2: Yeah, you have it for a reason. You know right
- 15:43Speaker 2: from wrong? You know what's disrespectful? You know what's going
- 15:46Speaker 2: to make her happy, you know what's going to make
- 15:47Speaker 2: her sad.
- 15:48Speaker 1: Just use it. That's funny. Jake's last one was kind
- 15:52Speaker 1: of very responsible. Yeah, my one, on the other hand,
- 15:56Speaker 1: what's the bare minimum for the modern man being able
- 15:58Speaker 1: to make each other finish?
- 16:00Speaker 2: Oh? Yeah, hopefully, hopefully.
- 16:12Speaker 1: Try try That's all you can do. Okay. Up next
- 16:22Speaker 1: is girl next Door or man eater? Jake, I wanted
- 16:26Speaker 1: to ask you to clarify what is a man eater?
- 16:28Speaker 1: What is a man eater? Okay?
- 16:30Speaker 2: A man eater is someone that looks like they're gonna
- 16:33Speaker 2: eat you up, spit you out, and break your heart.
- 16:35Speaker 1: All right, That's what a man eater is.
- 16:36Speaker 2: And the girl next door is a girl next door
- 16:40Speaker 2: is like I would say, you know that there's a song,
- 16:42Speaker 2: a Taylor Swift song where it's like she wears shorts, skirts,
- 16:46Speaker 2: I wear T shirts, She's cheer captain and I'm on
- 16:49Speaker 2: the bleachers. In that song, Taylor Swift is the girl
- 16:53Speaker 2: next door and she.
- 16:55Speaker 1: Is the man eater.
- 16:56Speaker 2: The girl that she says is she's describing and what
- 16:59Speaker 2: we do on YouTube, it's get send in a couple
- 17:01Speaker 2: of pictures and we've got to figure out whether or
- 17:02Speaker 2: not they are a girl next door a man eater.
- 17:04Speaker 2: So if you want some visuals, head on over to YouTube.
- 17:07Speaker 2: Otherwise the episode is going to be the same throughout. Okay,
- 17:11Speaker 2: our next contestant is there's no way I'm pronouncing that.
- 17:17Speaker 1: We've got as that can't be her name. There's no way.
- 17:22Speaker 2: Alf half Papa do Polu half half Papa Dopolu. Let's
- 17:28Speaker 2: call it Papa, Let's call it Papa. Papa said absolutely
- 17:32Speaker 2: love the podcast. Have my permission to use my instuaff
- 17:35Speaker 2: a Girl next Door versus man Eater?
- 17:37Speaker 1: Picture one, Picture one, hmmm, spicy the dress? Is that
- 17:45Speaker 1: the little cut inside like the torso? Do you know
- 17:50Speaker 1: what stands out for me? What's it called? Wing? The
- 17:52Speaker 1: stuff on top of your eyelid shadow vibes chuck it
- 17:58Speaker 1: ere like that orange eye shadow. Don't you reckon?
- 18:00Speaker 2: I feel like slick back with the ponies. I slip
- 18:02Speaker 2: back bun yeah, less man, need to slip back. Ponytail
- 18:06Speaker 2: is like I'm giving you something to hold on too.
- 18:08Speaker 1: I'm reading all the signs, the eye shadow, that little
- 18:11Speaker 1: cut in her torso? Did that? Yeah? I'm going to say.
- 18:15Speaker 2: Picture one, Picture two, this is matrix is fun.
- 18:21Speaker 1: Let me tell it. It's the leather jacket. I've never
- 18:23Speaker 1: seen anything not gonna lie. I really like that. I
- 18:26Speaker 1: rate it. I really like that. I rate it. But
- 18:28Speaker 1: I tell you what I feel like.
- 18:30Speaker 2: If I asked around on a date, she'd she'd be
- 18:32Speaker 2: expecting five stars, you know, she'd be expecting me to
- 18:36Speaker 2: bring her like a fucking bracelet, like a guoccy bracelet
- 18:40Speaker 2: as a gear. It's the black and Black goals, black
- 18:43Speaker 2: sonnies would man, I'd want to dodge her like the
- 18:47Speaker 2: matrix I'm coming. And Picture three it's a bit of
- 18:53Speaker 2: like a I don't know what they've found, a flowy
- 18:56Speaker 2: flamingo he dress.
- 18:58Speaker 1: Like the flowers on the front. Were they flowers? What
- 19:01Speaker 1: do you call it? Like it's called like a tinsel. Yeah,
- 19:04Speaker 1: she's giving me like Russian model vibes. You know what
- 19:08Speaker 1: that vibe is.
- 19:10Speaker 2: I'm gonna say, man Eater All three was that our
- 19:13Speaker 2: first sweep?
- 19:14Speaker 1: I think it is a clean sweep, clean sweep of
- 19:16Speaker 1: man Eater the whole way, Papa or sorry, but we're
- 19:21Speaker 1: looking in manaid. The caption was Merry Christmas, you feel
- 19:27Speaker 1: the animals. That's man Ata as fuck. Agreed, Agreed, belave.
- 19:34Speaker 2: It to that. You know what to do if you
- 19:35Speaker 2: want to get rated. Submitted on Instagram.
- 19:44Speaker 1: Okay up. Next is the lemmas sent in by you guys,
- 19:49Speaker 1: and this one's title is juicy Tea Alert. Last year
- 19:54Speaker 1: my brother's twenty first I got tipsy and ended up
- 19:57Speaker 1: hooking up with a mutual friend. Before things he got heated.
- 20:00Speaker 1: I asked if he still had a girlfriend and he
- 20:02Speaker 1: said no, but the next morning he confessed he had lied.
- 20:06Speaker 1: Now he occasionally messages me begging for a repeat performance
- 20:10Speaker 1: because it was in quotes so good. I've told him
- 20:15Speaker 1: to back off unless he's single, but he's been persistent
- 20:18Speaker 1: until recently. Fast forward till today. He and his girlfriend
- 20:22Speaker 1: are no longer together, but still expecting a baby in November.
- 20:27Speaker 1: So do I spill the tea and tell his girlfriend
- 20:30Speaker 1: about his antics, potentially wrecking his future family plans? Or
- 20:34Speaker 1: do I just sit on the door, she said? Or
- 20:37Speaker 1: do I just sip on the tea and stay out
- 20:39Speaker 1: of it. I have zero interest in him sexually anymore,
- 20:41Speaker 1: but I can't help but wonder if I'm the only
- 20:43Speaker 1: one he's been getting cozy up to. What's your take?
- 20:47Speaker 2: WHOA wait?
- 20:50Speaker 1: Okay, are they're not together anymore, the guy and the girl. No,
- 20:53Speaker 1: but they've got a baby, so like, potentially there's a
- 20:55Speaker 1: family going on there.
- 20:57Speaker 2: Look, because they're not together. Depending on how it ended,
- 21:03Speaker 2: she may have caught him cheating with someone else anyway,
- 21:05Speaker 2: and it's ended. I would say, does this girl say
- 21:08Speaker 2: she knows the girl?
- 21:10Speaker 1: No? I ah, okay? Should she just stay out of it?
- 21:13Speaker 1: You slept with him on a night out.
- 21:14Speaker 2: You didn't know we had a girlfriend, and then it
- 21:17Speaker 2: come out that he had a girlfriend. Really you kind
- 21:20Speaker 2: of if you were going to tell her, you really
- 21:22Speaker 2: could have should have told her then? Yeah, exactlytead of
- 21:24Speaker 2: waiting till now.
- 21:26Speaker 1: But does she have a right to know? Is the
- 21:27Speaker 1: girlfriend who's having her baby his baby? I mean, because
- 21:30Speaker 1: they're not together. No, she just sit on it? Should
- 21:36Speaker 1: she sit on it again? I'm kidding, I'm kidding, Im
- 21:39Speaker 1: kidding on gidding, on gidding. Should she sip on the
- 21:43Speaker 1: tea as she would say if I was her?
- 21:47Speaker 2: Okay, So I've just had sex with this guy and
- 21:50Speaker 2: as he would say, round of applause, was great.
- 21:56Speaker 1: He's asking to do it again. I'm like, no, you're
- 21:58Speaker 1: taking like this is the wrong thing to do. And out.
- 22:00Speaker 1: Fast forward. I find out they've broken up and they're
- 22:03Speaker 1: having a kid together. But I feel like there's something
- 22:05Speaker 1: in me that just wants to tell this girl what
- 22:07Speaker 1: a dad of the child's going to has been doing.
- 22:11Speaker 1: Maybe maybe if you should tell her in case they
- 22:14Speaker 1: do get back together in the future, I say leave it.
- 22:17Speaker 1: You can leave it.
- 22:18Speaker 2: I say leave it because if they're a chance for
- 22:20Speaker 2: going to get back together in the future, that means
- 22:21Speaker 2: that kid's going to have a non broken family.
- 22:24Speaker 1: Good point. I would say, leave it.
- 22:26Speaker 2: I am agreeing it's unfortunately he's a shit dude, Yes,
- 22:29Speaker 2: but now there's.
- 22:30Speaker 1: A kid involved. I agree the benefit of the kid. Yeah,
- 22:32Speaker 1: leave it. Definitely leave it. Leave it, simple as that. Okay,
- 22:42Speaker 1: up next, Guys, we often preach for a man to
- 22:45Speaker 1: be in touch with their feelings and be an emotional
- 22:49Speaker 1: outlet for their girl. Yeah.
- 22:51Speaker 2: Notdy and I I wouldn't say we're the most in
- 22:54Speaker 2: touch of our feelings, but we do.
- 22:55Speaker 1: We do well. We preach trying and that's what we're
- 22:58Speaker 1: going to do right now. So we both going to
- 23:00Speaker 1: say a time when we've both been hurt in.
- 23:04Speaker 2: Life, and I would like to point out so we
- 23:07Speaker 2: get a lot of dilemmas about it. So I think
- 23:10Speaker 2: it's kind of like a cool It would be someone
- 23:13Speaker 2: that has a dilemma sitting that we may not have
- 23:15Speaker 2: read yet that's about them being hurt and maybe hearing
- 23:18Speaker 2: about us being hurt, and then how we dealt with
- 23:21Speaker 2: it or how we didn't deal.
- 23:22Speaker 1: With it good or or something. Yes, yeah, yeah, yea, yeah, yeah.
- 23:25Speaker 1: It's just opening up a little bit. And hopefully I've
- 23:28Speaker 1: never said mine. Really, he's going to go first. Yeah, thanks, Okay,
- 23:34Speaker 1: a time when I've been hurt. It's quite recent really,
- 23:38Speaker 1: So I've mentioned on the podcast before that my dad
- 23:43Speaker 1: has prostate cancer and there was a period of time
- 23:48Speaker 1: there where he wasn't looking that good. And however, right
- 23:52Speaker 1: now he's actually in remission and there's not many symptoms,
- 23:55Speaker 1: almost point zero, which is really really good. But there
- 23:58Speaker 1: was a period of time there where like it wasn't
- 24:00Speaker 1: looking good, and there on the cards were a timeframe
- 24:03Speaker 1: of how long you'd have left to live, and in
- 24:06Speaker 1: my head, I was I was thinking there's no I
- 24:11Speaker 1: was dwelling in my head that I might lose my dad.
- 24:13Speaker 1: And I don't think there's any way like any person
- 24:16Speaker 1: can ever prepare for that, and when I was really hurt,
- 24:19Speaker 1: it was just like thinking of what life would be
- 24:22Speaker 1: like without him. So my dilma hasn't really happened yet,
- 24:25Speaker 1: but it's something that every person will eventually have to
- 24:28Speaker 1: go through, and I don't think they can prepare for it.
- 24:30Speaker 1: And I don't think as a son, there's probably not
- 24:33Speaker 1: another man in the world I look up to rely
- 24:36Speaker 1: on and he's a shoulder to lean on other than
- 24:39Speaker 1: there's no other person I admire one dad, yeah, as
- 24:43Speaker 1: much as my dad, And I'd never have the I've
- 24:46Speaker 1: never had the thought before of like, what's my life
- 24:49Speaker 1: going to be like when my dad's not here? Do
- 24:51Speaker 1: you think about that? You know? And I was really
- 24:53Speaker 1: really sad, And every time I think about it even
- 24:55Speaker 1: brings my eyes to a little bit of a water
- 24:58Speaker 1: because I'm like reality, Yeah, it was nearly a reality,
- 25:02Speaker 1: and I'm not prepared for it, and I don't think
- 25:04Speaker 1: anyone ever can be prepared for it. And I was
- 25:06Speaker 1: just like, fuck, like this is just like life, Like
- 25:08Speaker 1: everyone goes through it and everyone gets through it, but
- 25:10Speaker 1: like I don't want to face that anytime soon.
- 25:14Speaker 2: Honestly, No, Yeah, that is ins I feel like, can
- 25:17Speaker 2: you even even let's say, when you're older, do you
- 25:20Speaker 2: reckon you're ever ready for it?
- 25:22Speaker 1: That's what I thought. I was like, surely everyone's parents
- 25:25Speaker 1: die and like when they're like thirty and then it happens.
- 25:28Speaker 1: But I don't think you can prepare for it. Yeah,
- 25:30Speaker 1: Like I'm twenty four almost and I'm just like twenty
- 25:33Speaker 1: fourth too early. Yeah, I think so, But it happens
- 25:35Speaker 1: to a lot of people. We've had friends who's lost
- 25:37Speaker 1: their parents.
- 25:38Speaker 2: We've got yeah, we've got quite a few actually, think
- 25:42Speaker 2: like five friends, I think so. Some of them have
- 25:45Speaker 2: lost their parents and then some of them have parents
- 25:47Speaker 2: with it.
- 25:48Speaker 1: And I was just I was just thinking to myself.
- 25:49Speaker 1: I was like, there's no possible way I can ever
- 25:51Speaker 1: be ready for this. No, And it made me really
- 25:54Speaker 1: sad to like what life would be like without this
- 25:56Speaker 1: man in my life. Yeah. Fuck man. My message would takeaway.
- 26:01Speaker 1: Just tell the people around you love them, and make
- 26:04Speaker 1: the most of them while they're here, because they're not
- 26:05Speaker 1: here forever. Get your prostate checked. Yeah, yeah, that's a
- 26:07Speaker 1: good thing for men, even though we don't have a
- 26:08Speaker 1: lot of men listening. Get checked early. I'm going to
- 26:11Speaker 1: have to because it's genetic it's a genetic thing. Yeah,
- 26:13Speaker 1: so when when will you get checked? When you get
- 26:15Speaker 1: checked at thirty, But I even might get it earlier.
- 26:16Speaker 1: I could.
- 26:17Speaker 2: I could have sworn that it was up to like fifty.
- 26:21Speaker 2: Now really I could be wrong, but.
- 26:25Speaker 1: All the a lot of things we can'cer if you
- 26:26Speaker 1: get it early, you can treat it, you can yeah
- 26:29Speaker 1: yeah yeah, so.
- 26:31Speaker 2: Yeah, right, well that's see, that's that's something you know
- 26:35Speaker 2: about Audi now this is Yeah, that's the thing. We
- 26:37Speaker 2: kind of I feel like we wanted to be some
- 26:39Speaker 2: some sort of personal on the podcast. Yeah, mine would
- 26:43Speaker 2: be this is it's also very personal. It's like but
- 26:48Speaker 2: it's like I don't know, it's kind of like.
- 26:49Speaker 1: Part of I guess my life, and.
- 26:55Speaker 2: Like because it also happened to me, I think it's
- 26:59Speaker 2: like I should be allowed to talk about it. I'm
- 27:03Speaker 2: going to go in like a series of events almost.
- 27:05Speaker 2: So Audio and I went traveling up I think I
- 27:09Speaker 2: think I've told you you're gonna know what I'm saying
- 27:12Speaker 2: for the first bit, and I think I have told
- 27:14Speaker 2: you the second bit. So Audio and I went traveling
- 27:18Speaker 2: up the East Coast, Australia.
- 27:21Speaker 1: And when we left they had a girlfriend and.
- 27:26Speaker 2: I was just like probably pretty young, pretty dumb, pretty immature,
- 27:30Speaker 2: and I just wanted to go traveling with body, and
- 27:34Speaker 2: then also didn't like want to have a time frame
- 27:37Speaker 2: and when I'd be home. And so this is what
- 27:39Speaker 2: I was telling her as well, like I was being
- 27:41Speaker 2: pretty fucking bad boyfriend of the sense of like I'm leaving.
- 27:45Speaker 1: And I don't know when I'm coming back, and.
- 27:50Speaker 2: COVID was happening pretty heavily down here where we are,
- 27:53Speaker 2: and we were running away from it almost we were
- 27:55Speaker 2: getting pretty lucky, and so we were traveling and then
- 27:59Speaker 2: I don't I stayed together for the first couple of weeks,
- 28:02Speaker 2: and then we got to a place up in ne
- 28:03Speaker 2: thear Early Beach or up pretty fun north somewhere, and.
- 28:09Speaker 1: She ended up giving me an ultimatum like either either
- 28:11Speaker 1: come home or we're fucking breaking up. And so I
- 28:13Speaker 1: was like, well, I don't want to come home, and
- 28:16Speaker 1: and so then for the first so.
- 28:18Speaker 2: We broke up, and like I think I was like
- 28:20Speaker 2: I was like sad, but also like our relationship had
- 28:22Speaker 2: slowly been coming to an end, like I look back
- 28:24Speaker 2: at it now and I don't like, I mean, I
- 28:26Speaker 2: wouldn't say a cringe, but I just look back at
- 28:28Speaker 2: it now and I'm just like.
- 28:29Speaker 1: We knew, one hundred percent.
- 28:31Speaker 2: We knew, and it's just funny to think how young
- 28:34Speaker 2: and done we were to hold onto it and not realize.
- 28:37Speaker 1: But this is what you do it. You always do
- 28:38Speaker 1: that when what you hold onto it for as long
- 28:40Speaker 1: as possible.
- 28:40Speaker 2: I suppose that's just what you do. Yeah, first love,
- 28:42Speaker 2: first proper love. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, I definitely thought so.
- 28:46Speaker 1: Ah.
- 28:47Speaker 2: So then after a few weeks of us breaking up,
- 28:52Speaker 2: I didn't even know, like I was sweet for a while,
- 28:57Speaker 2: and then I can't say how it happened, but I
- 29:02Speaker 2: just it's like a fucking literal switch in my brain
- 29:05Speaker 2: flicked all of a sudden, missed her, and then I
- 29:11Speaker 2: have a feeling what happened was. I think she just
- 29:13Speaker 2: messaged me by saying like hey, after a couple of weeks,
- 29:15Speaker 2: like hey, how are you, and the like that's what
- 29:19Speaker 2: I must I guess must have flicked the switch.
- 29:21Speaker 1: I remember, like your demeanor was a complete shift, like
- 29:24Speaker 1: it was weird, happy and bubbly, like traveling, and then
- 29:27Speaker 1: you're like, oh fuck, and I could see it. I
- 29:29Speaker 1: saw the change in you.
- 29:30Speaker 2: Yeah. It was just I cannot even explain it, because
- 29:34Speaker 2: so then all of a sudden, I had this feeling
- 29:37Speaker 2: of missing her and thinking I fucked up. And then
- 29:41Speaker 2: and like randomly was like I'd rather be traveling, like
- 29:43Speaker 2: I don't know, I'd rather fucking her, like fly up,
- 29:46Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 29:47Speaker 1: It was dumb.
- 29:48Speaker 2: And then and then so I called my step mom
- 29:53Speaker 2: and I was talking to her about it because I've
- 29:55Speaker 2: grown up with divorced parents, so I've had this skew
- 29:57Speaker 2: if view on it for the longest time, and like
- 30:01Speaker 2: if you're marriage and all that, and I thought that
- 30:02Speaker 2: I didn't want to be with anyone forever. I had
- 30:04Speaker 2: that whole thought process that we get dilemmas all the
- 30:06Speaker 2: time of like, oh, do I need to break up
- 30:08Speaker 2: with the person I'm with now because it doesn't really
- 30:09Speaker 2: work out when you're young in twenty and then do
- 30:12Speaker 2: I need to be alone for a while and grow
- 30:13Speaker 2: and then get in a relationship when I'm later in
- 30:15Speaker 2: my twenties and and then that's going to work out
- 30:17Speaker 2: because I have more life experience, Like that's what That's
- 30:19Speaker 2: what my mindset was. And so then I think she
- 30:22Speaker 2: like I was on the phone with my step mom
- 30:24Speaker 2: was crying and she was just like, hey, you just
- 30:27Speaker 2: got to do what you fucking want to do, Like,
- 30:28Speaker 2: if you want to get back together, whether just say
- 30:29Speaker 2: you want to get back together, what do whatever you
- 30:30Speaker 2: want to do.
- 30:31Speaker 1: She was like, she was good about it, and so.
- 30:33Speaker 2: Then I I think I told my girlfriend I want
- 30:36Speaker 2: to get back together.
- 30:37Speaker 1: She was like, oh, I don't know. My ex girlfriend sod.
- 30:40Speaker 2: I told my ex girlfriend I will get back to
- 30:41Speaker 2: She's like, oh, I don't know. And I was like, well,
- 30:43Speaker 2: I'll come home and I don't want to see you.
- 30:45Speaker 2: So I just de said to Oddie, don't want to
- 30:46Speaker 2: go home, which sucked. And then Audi was fucking so
- 30:48Speaker 2: good about it.
- 30:50Speaker 1: And then.
- 30:52Speaker 2: I went home, like, drove back down, went home.
- 30:55Speaker 1: And then when I.
- 30:56Speaker 2: Got home, I told her I was home and she
- 30:59Speaker 2: was like, oh, I'm going through COVID. She was staying
- 31:03Speaker 2: at a family friend's place that she'd known since she
- 31:05Speaker 2: was like born and.
- 31:09Speaker 1: Never thought of him as a threat, by the.
- 31:10Speaker 2: Way, and so she goes, okay, like cool, whatever, and
- 31:19Speaker 2: she went and she was staying there for the week.
- 31:20Speaker 2: So I got home for a full week I didn't
- 31:22Speaker 2: see her, and then she finally came home and we
- 31:27Speaker 2: saw each other blah blah blah hung out and then
- 31:29Speaker 2: in the end, like it was, she just was like
- 31:32Speaker 2: she just didn't want to and so I ended up
- 31:33Speaker 2: being like really heartbreaking from it from the breakup. And
- 31:37Speaker 2: then I think we were home for a while just fucking.
- 31:41Speaker 2: It was maybe a month had maybe a month after
- 31:45Speaker 2: I was home or something like that, and I do
- 31:47Speaker 2: remember this is what happened. Someone had messaged me on
- 31:51Speaker 2: Instagram as in like a kind of like it wasn't her,
- 31:55Speaker 2: it was just like a girl he had messed with Instagram,
- 31:57Speaker 2: and I was messaging you about it and I said,
- 32:00Speaker 2: I'm just not sure if I want to go through
- 32:02Speaker 2: with anything yet out of respect for X person max girlfriend.
- 32:05Speaker 2: And then Audie goes, I think, I don't know if
- 32:08Speaker 2: you said this, but he was kind of like, noah,
- 32:10Speaker 2: fuck that bitch.
- 32:10Speaker 1: I got something to tell you. I remember that. He
- 32:14Speaker 1: was like, oh no, I don't remember.
- 32:16Speaker 2: He was like, she's been sleeping this guy from Sydney,
- 32:19Speaker 2: and I was like.
- 32:19Speaker 1: Oh no, I was so because I found out. I
- 32:23Speaker 1: found out and I didn't tell you because I knew
- 32:25Speaker 1: it would break her. And then this girl, like this
- 32:28Speaker 1: pretty girl, like I said, she wanted to hang out
- 32:30Speaker 1: with you and you're like, oh, I can't do it
- 32:31Speaker 1: out of respect, and then I was like fuck yeah,
- 32:36Speaker 1: I'm telling him.
- 32:37Speaker 2: And so then he told me, you know, I was
- 32:39Speaker 2: made it worse. I was like heartbroken, heartbroken. I needed
- 32:42Speaker 2: to hear it obviously. I was like I was like heartbroken, heartbroken,
- 32:45Speaker 2: and so and then after it was like that was
- 32:51Speaker 2: really I would say, that's like the most heartbroken I've bin.
- 32:55Speaker 2: I remember telling my parents and like, because I just
- 32:58Speaker 2: knew that there was no way I was going to
- 32:59Speaker 2: be able to like how fucking depressed I felt. And
- 33:02Speaker 2: so I remember telling my parents what happened, and they
- 33:03Speaker 2: was sturdy new and then it was just kind of
- 33:07Speaker 2: like they were just like, yeah, fuck, it is what
- 33:08Speaker 2: it is. Like they were supportive, and I was just like,
- 33:10Speaker 2: you're actually is what it is. And so I just
- 33:13Speaker 2: ended up going about my days or whatever and I
- 33:16Speaker 2: just and it was just like fucking I just would like,
- 33:20Speaker 2: it's the most heart wrenching thing. And then so a
- 33:25Speaker 2: few months went by and we got up to Christmas
- 33:28Speaker 2: and I was still.
- 33:30Speaker 1: Like getting over it.
- 33:32Speaker 2: Ah, I definitely was nowhere near over her. This is
- 33:37Speaker 2: twenty twenty war and so twenty twenty one, and then
- 33:46Speaker 2: I found out that she started dating the guy and
- 33:48Speaker 2: I was like, holy shit. I was like, how did
- 33:49Speaker 2: you move on so quick? I was like, this is crazy.
- 33:51Speaker 2: I was like in my head, I was like, you
- 33:53Speaker 2: know what, fuck, I hope that does.
- 33:54Speaker 1: Not work out for you.
- 33:55Speaker 2: I was like, it doesn't work out. I was like,
- 33:57Speaker 2: you moved on too quick. I doesn't work out for you.
- 33:59Speaker 1: Blah blah blah.
- 34:00Speaker 2: So basically I was like heartbroken. I couldn't sleep for
- 34:03Speaker 2: the longest time because the heartbroken the first time, and
- 34:05Speaker 2: then I was starting to get good and then I
- 34:06Speaker 2: find out she starts dating this guy again. I went
- 34:08Speaker 2: through a few weeks of just shitty sleep.
- 34:10Speaker 1: I was sleeping shit heartbroken. And then.
- 34:15Speaker 2: My sister came to visit Australia for Christmas. And this
- 34:24Speaker 2: is the part that I was unsure about telling on
- 34:26Speaker 2: the podcast. My mom, for like a lot of my life,
- 34:31Speaker 2: has struggled with.
- 34:34Speaker 1: Addiction.
- 34:36Speaker 2: And when my sister came for she came from Canada.
- 34:42Speaker 2: When she came, she came out and then just I remember, like,
- 34:46Speaker 2: so I was still kind of fresh heartbreak. It's for
- 34:49Speaker 2: the second round of it finding out she dating the guy,
- 34:51Speaker 2: and then my sister comes in. Like the day after
- 34:54Speaker 2: my sister comes, she comes out to where I was
- 34:56Speaker 2: stat we're both in at my parents' house. She comes
- 34:57Speaker 2: into my room, she was like, have you spoken.
- 34:59Speaker 1: A And I was like what.
- 35:02Speaker 2: I was like no, She's like, oh, I was messaging
- 35:05Speaker 2: her she's and she's like fucking going on about how
- 35:12Speaker 2: she misses us, and then she's so sorry for everything
- 35:15Speaker 2: she's done to us, and I was like what. And
- 35:18Speaker 2: then she goes. And then I tried to call her
- 35:20Speaker 2: and tell her everything's all good, but she won't answer.
- 35:22Speaker 2: She won't reply, and Johanna said that in the message,
- 35:26Speaker 2: she implied like she's going to miss us, and I
- 35:30Speaker 2: was like what. And so Johanna thinks that she's gonna
- 35:33Speaker 2: fucking kill herself, and so I started freaking out. And
- 35:37Speaker 2: for the longest time, I've had like a bit of
- 35:39Speaker 2: a broken relationship with her because I just have like
- 35:41Speaker 2: struggled to forgive, struggle to forget, and like I do
- 35:43Speaker 2: sometimes like I'm sure anyone that has the same thing.
- 35:45Speaker 2: He's like knows what I mean, But like you'd love
- 35:47Speaker 2: him because you love him, but sometimes you're just like
- 35:48Speaker 2: why the fuck can you not get it?
- 35:49Speaker 1: Under control.
- 35:51Speaker 2: But I remember trying to get a hold of my
- 35:53Speaker 2: mom and I was like fucking tried to call her
- 35:55Speaker 2: and call on her and coll on her Facebook and shit,
- 35:57Speaker 2: and she finally answered, she's like crying on the phone,
- 36:00Speaker 2: and I just remember being like I genuinely, genuinely was like,
- 36:04Speaker 2: oh fuck, like my mom's gonna kill herself because she's
- 36:07Speaker 2: just like relapsed and just can't handle it. And so
- 36:11Speaker 2: then eventually like we got a hold of my aunt
- 36:12Speaker 2: he that lives in the same town. She went over
- 36:14Speaker 2: there and she found her and like, my Mom's still alive, like.
- 36:16Speaker 1: She's all good.
- 36:17Speaker 2: Yeah, but like I just fucking remembered that mixed with
- 36:21Speaker 2: the heartbreak. I remember it breaking me and Joanna, my
- 36:25Speaker 2: older sister. She was kind of all good after that,
- 36:28Speaker 2: but I remember like I like was walking around, I
- 36:31Speaker 2: was like having like heart palpitations, and I went and
- 36:33Speaker 2: I sat down like in this weird like part of
- 36:35Speaker 2: my parents' yard, like hidden, and I just like fucking
- 36:38Speaker 2: cried for like ten minutes, and I was like, what
- 36:41Speaker 2: is going on? And then my dad eventually came around.
- 36:43Speaker 2: He was like, fuck, are you okay? And I just
- 36:44Speaker 2: was like I do I don't know how to take
- 36:46Speaker 2: this a it was like the weird I just couldn't anah,
- 36:50Speaker 2: and then I don't even know.
- 36:51Speaker 1: It's just like.
- 36:54Speaker 2: Why don't know. I went to therapy once and just
- 36:56Speaker 2: like haven't felt the need.
- 36:57Speaker 1: To go back. But that was years ago now, But
- 37:00Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 37:00Speaker 2: I just think like probably a good thing to air
- 37:04Speaker 2: out and people understand that.
- 37:06Speaker 1: You know. I guess we have problems too, Yeah, we do.
- 37:10Speaker 1: We're not perfect by any means, no, yeah, just fucking yeah.
- 37:16Speaker 2: I think the hard I think giving advice on the
- 37:18Speaker 2: hard times is like we've been through them.
- 37:20Speaker 1: Too, I guess. Yeah, everyone has their own stories. What
- 37:24Speaker 1: we could open up about ours? Yours? Yeah, that's that's
- 37:27Speaker 1: a lot. And it's just a role on snowball effect
- 37:29Speaker 1: kind of thing.
- 37:30Speaker 2: Yeah, so what Yeah, it just made its heartbreaking than that,
- 37:34Speaker 2: And I was just like, holy sh it's like that thing.
- 37:35Speaker 1: It's always one thing after another when it rains a pause.
- 37:38Speaker 2: Yeah that's it. Yeah, out of the fucking yeah, you're right.
- 37:41Speaker 1: So sorry. If that was like a boring story, No,
- 37:43Speaker 1: I wasn't boring at all. Boring, But I just I
- 37:45Speaker 1: think it's struggle. I think it's admirable how you opened
- 37:48Speaker 1: up because I know that's a hard thing for a dude,
- 37:50Speaker 1: don't you. Yeah, especially the second part for the longest time.
- 37:53Speaker 2: Yeah, the breakup thing, I don't care if that's out there,
- 37:55Speaker 2: Like the other thing is just it's just like I
- 37:57Speaker 2: was a bit if you about airing out family drama.
- 37:59Speaker 1: But I don't know. I think it's just I guess
- 38:02Speaker 1: everyone has it. That's the part of my life. Everyone
- 38:04Speaker 1: has it. And I think the more you talk about
- 38:06Speaker 1: it and say that you're okay now and your mom's okay.
- 38:09Speaker 2: Yeah, definitely, And like I guess if I don't want
- 38:11Speaker 2: anyone to think, like fuck I hate Jake's mum without
- 38:13Speaker 2: knowing her, like like I love my.
- 38:15Speaker 1: Mom, Yeah, yeah, like I do. I love my mom.
- 38:17Speaker 2: And I'm going to Canada and all that, and in
- 38:21Speaker 2: I've been, I've been to Canada after that, and I'm
- 38:23Speaker 2: going again obviously in June this year.
- 38:26Speaker 1: And I don't know.
- 38:28Speaker 2: I think it's just like I guess, I guess anyone
- 38:31Speaker 2: else that does deal with something like that, it'd be
- 38:32Speaker 2: interesting to know how they deal with it. Actually, to
- 38:35Speaker 2: be honest with you, I assume there's some people out
- 38:36Speaker 2: there that have had parents with struggle, and I always
- 38:38Speaker 2: am really with the work that my sister does. I
- 38:41Speaker 2: always so with the work that my sister does. You
- 38:44Speaker 2: hear about a lot of bat you with families, and
- 38:47Speaker 2: now I am like, I'm very like I understand that
- 38:51Speaker 2: stuff that I've been through is hurtful, but I also
- 38:53Speaker 2: have like this mad like gratefulness after hearing some stuff,
- 38:57Speaker 2: like I've always had a rif of a mad always
- 38:59Speaker 2: had clothes, never been hungry, I've always felt love for
- 39:02Speaker 2: my family. Like the only hurt that I feel is
- 39:04Speaker 2: that my mum struggles with these addictions. And just like
- 39:08Speaker 2: the love for us kids doesn't fix the addiction. But
- 39:11Speaker 2: then you come to feel like the addiction is a disease.
- 39:13Speaker 2: And but like I've never like I've never been hit.
- 39:16Speaker 2: I've always been yeah, like I've had a great upbringing.
- 39:18Speaker 1: Where each problem has the same magnitude to each person. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 39:22Speaker 1: I think it's also it's good to normalize, Like, like
- 39:25Speaker 1: you said, we're not perfect. Everyone has. It's okay to
- 39:27Speaker 1: be hurt and it's good to talk about it. Yeah,
- 39:30Speaker 1: It's like it's just good to get it out of
- 39:32Speaker 1: your system. It's something so beautiful and when humans talk
- 39:35Speaker 1: and you feel better. It's like a weight lifted off
- 39:37Speaker 1: your heart, your chest, everything going on, but yeah, you
- 39:42Speaker 1: want to leave it on that yeah as well. Right,
- 39:51Speaker 1: Oh guys, thanks for listening.
