- 0:07a mastermindset coach, creative strategist, and also happened to
- 0:10be a farmer. This is my chicken coop and I
- 0:12come out here every day to. Record A.
- 0:14Podcast to teach distinctions, possibilities, new ways of
- 0:18thinking, and just bring some joy into the world.
- 0:21So welcome to the coop and let's start your day off in a
- 0:24fantastic way. Hey everybody, good afternoon
- 0:29from the very, very, very cold chicken coop.
- 0:33You know, I have to say the weather does feel invigorating,
- 0:36having it be cold because you can't walk outside without going
- 0:39and it kind of makes you jump around and pay attention.
- 0:43But you know, I'm not a fan of this.
- 0:45In any event, today we were talking about pushing through
- 0:49when you know you don't want to. And we're talking about this
- 0:52because I am working on paperwork and it sucks.
- 0:55And I've been doing it for days and days.
- 0:57And right when I was at the end, right when I thought I was
- 0:59finished, I remembered a whole section that we hadn't touched.
- 1:04And I looked at Mark and I said, Hey, do you think you could pull
- 1:07up those accounts so we could take a look at them and what we
- 1:10put on that? And and he was like, Yep.
- 1:12And he says it's so matter of factly.
- 1:14And I'm like, Oh my gosh, I am feel like I'm never going to
- 1:17finish this. And in that moment, I recognize,
- 1:20wait a minute, that is a borrowed trait that I have
- 1:25showing up old patterns from what my mom used to say.
- 1:29And she's like, I'm never going to finish this.
- 1:32It never ends. And I can hear it in my head.
- 1:36And isn't it amazing that after all these years of, you know,
- 1:40I'm a grown woman with children of my own, You know, just think
- 1:45about that. It's still in my head.
- 1:48From what I heard when I was a kid.
- 1:50So often this happens and so often we get trapped by it.
- 1:54So my immediate thing was to jump up and say, Nope, I'm going
- 1:58to go run outside. I'm going to give the girls a
- 2:00snack. I'm going to record tomorrow's
- 2:01podcast because it's going to be way too cold in the morning and
- 2:04I'm going to change my state. So this is an example of how to
- 2:08change your state. So for me, coming to this group,
- 2:11as you all know, is like a reset button for me.
- 2:14I love it. I came out, I brought them some
- 2:15peanuts today, not peanuts that are in a shell, but unshelled
- 2:19peanuts and they absolutely love them.
- 2:21They go crazy when they have them.
- 2:22So I got a big huge bag, a tractor supply of peanuts and
- 2:27they chow on them now. I give them more calories in the
- 2:30winter always because it's important, but I don't like to
- 2:33give them calories that come from corn, which is a very
- 2:37common thing to give farm animals.
- 2:39But it's just like eating, you know, sugar all the time.
- 2:42So instead I give them peanuts and they go crazy for it.
- 2:46And just to watch them get so excited and see them come
- 2:49running, I think they can smell them.
- 2:51But it's a complete change. It's changes my state.
- 2:55And it makes me feel so much more alive when I can do that.
- 2:59And then I can go walk back in. And even though it is late in a
- 3:03on a Sunday afternoon, it's already almost 5:00 and I'm
- 3:06still working on this paperwork. I'm committed.
- 3:08I am sitting there until it is done.
- 3:11And if I have to go, if it hits my bedtime when I will be up at
- 3:143:00 in the morning working on it again because I am committed
- 3:17to getting it in by tomorrow morning.
- 3:20Monday was my deadline that I gave myself and that's it.
- 3:23I'm done. But I'm not going to allow
- 3:25myself to feel overwhelmed by it.
- 3:27And the closer I get, I'm telling myself so close, I'm so
- 3:31close, I'm so close that invigorates me instead of making
- 3:35me feel drained. It's a great technique to try
- 3:38and but you've got to pay attention to what is the
- 3:41language that you're saying to yourself because if you don't
- 3:43know what you're saying to yourself, you're never going to
- 3:45be able to pick up on it. So try it.
- 3:49Look, see, what am I telling myself?
- 3:51What are those little things that are going off in my head?
- 3:54Because if you catch them, you can reframe them.
- 3:56And the minute you can reframe them is when you win.
- 4:00And I always find it better to say, OK, once I ask the question
- 4:04of what am I saying to myself? And I hear it, then I want to
- 4:07find the exact opposite and say it.
- 4:09So if I'm drained, no, I'm exhilarated, I'm filled up.
- 4:13I'm, I'm being, you know, energized, I'm going to say the
- 4:16exact opposite of it. And if you can't come up with
- 4:19what the opposite is, Google something, say what's the
- 4:21opposite of this, and it will give you an answer.
- 4:24And it's it's great because it gives you different ways to
- 4:27think of something. Now, will you have to do this
- 4:294,000,000 times? Yes, you will, because that's
- 4:31how the brain works. Welcome to being human, my
- 4:33friends. So I'm going to take my frozen
- 4:37butt back in the house and I will see you all tomorrow
- 4:40invigorated and done with what I'm doing.
- 4:43All right. I hope.
- 4:44You guys. Have a.
- 4:44Blessed day, bye.
