Transcript
- 0:09Speaker 1: Hello, everyone, Welcome to the Inside the Birds NFL Week
- 0:15Speaker 1: twelve preview.
- 0:16Speaker 2: That's Friday, Week twelve.
- 0:19Speaker 1: That means after we are through with this week, man,
- 0:22Speaker 1: we really hit the last quarter of the NFL schedule.
- 0:27Speaker 2: And I always talk about this time.
- 0:29Speaker 1: This is the last weekend of NFL action before Thanksgiving.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Then you're gonna get a bunch of games. By the
- 0:34Speaker 1: time you hear me on this next show, you'll already
- 0:37Speaker 1: have the Thanksgiving games down, and then you'll have the
- 0:41Speaker 1: Friday Black Friday game down. So by the time you
- 0:45Speaker 1: hear me next there will be a bunch of games
- 0:47Speaker 1: that will already have been played for the following week.
- 0:50Speaker 1: So I want to take this time in the episode.
- 0:53Speaker 1: I will go through all the games, but I'm gonna
- 0:56Speaker 1: do it a little differently. I just want to talk
- 0:58Speaker 1: about where it's stands in the NFL right now, as
- 1:03Speaker 1: we head into the Thanksgiving we get of action, even
- 1:07Speaker 1: though there's still week twelve to go before that, and
- 1:11Speaker 1: I really want to discuss both the AFC and the NFC,
- 1:14Speaker 1: what they look like now and what I think they're
- 1:18Speaker 1: going to look like in a few weeks from now, because,
- 1:20Speaker 1: as I always say, Thanksgiving is the time where the
- 1:24Speaker 1: NFL cream of the crop starts to differentiate itself from
- 1:28Speaker 1: the rest of the league.
- 1:29Speaker 2: Is usually.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Two to four teams in each conference that you have
- 1:35Speaker 1: a very good feeling about that you understand will probably
- 1:38Speaker 1: be there in those late and mid January weekends when
- 1:42Speaker 1: they do the wildcard, Visional Round and conference championship. The
- 1:47Speaker 1: AFC is fascinating me because if you look at the
- 1:50Speaker 1: AFC right now, your top three seeds, all right, I
- 1:55Speaker 1: am not sure though, those are your three best teams
- 1:59Speaker 1: in then, and I'm quite sure that a team that
- 2:03Speaker 1: right now wouldn't even be in the playoffs could potentially
- 2:07Speaker 1: be one of the three best teams in the AFC.
- 2:12Speaker 1: So let's start looking at the ANC right now. The
- 2:15Speaker 1: number one team is the Broncos. They are nine to two.
- 2:19Speaker 1: They deserve it. They are an impressive, impressive team defensively.
- 2:24Speaker 1: They have flaws offensively, but their defense is so good
- 2:29Speaker 1: that it keeps them in games and they don't have
- 2:31Speaker 1: to rely all the time on their defense.
- 2:34Speaker 2: To save the day.
- 2:36Speaker 1: And then the offense can just make a couple of
- 2:39Speaker 1: plays here and there that it needs to make, and
- 2:42Speaker 1: it's not a bad offense. It's just an inconsistent one.
- 2:46Speaker 1: In a lot of ways, the Broncos remind me of
- 2:48Speaker 1: the Eagles. They are excellent defensively, they are sporadic offensively.
- 2:54Speaker 1: But when you look at their schedule and all their
- 2:57Speaker 1: good wins, and they've got plenty of good wins, usually
- 3:00Speaker 1: very close, very tight wins, including their win over the
- 3:03Speaker 1: Eagles of the Link back in Week five, that twenty
- 3:06Speaker 1: one to seventeen win, you know they've got. They do
- 3:09Speaker 1: have an impressive win over the Cowboys by twenty points,
- 3:11Speaker 1: but that to me is not as impressive or as
- 3:15Speaker 1: strong of a win. They beat the Chiefs last week,
- 3:16Speaker 1: I'm sorry, two weeks ago by three. They beat the
- 3:20Speaker 1: Texans by three. Texans are coming on. We'll talk about
- 3:23Speaker 1: them in a second. They have a couple of blowouts.
- 3:26Speaker 1: But even in their two losses, all right, they've lost
- 3:29Speaker 1: to the Colts, who right now are the number two seed.
- 3:32Speaker 2: We'll talk about them a second.
- 3:33Speaker 1: But they all lost to the Colts by one, and
- 3:34Speaker 1: that was really because of a leverage penalty on a
- 3:37Speaker 1: field goal that allowed the Colts to get better field
- 3:40Speaker 1: goal position and make the field goal to win the game.
- 3:42Speaker 1: So that was really a game that the Broncos had
- 3:44Speaker 1: in the bag and just lost it.
- 3:47Speaker 2: And then they lost the following week.
- 3:48Speaker 1: To the Chargers twenty three twenty where their offensive firepower
- 3:53Speaker 1: kind of did them or lack thereof did them in.
- 3:56Speaker 1: But they deserve to be the number one. The difference
- 3:58Speaker 1: I see.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Between the Broncos and the Eagles is the Broncos don't
- 4:03Speaker 2: have the firepower on offense.
- 4:05Speaker 1: There's a reason that they are sporadical offensively, unlike the Eagles,
- 4:09Speaker 1: who have been just trying to figure it out with
- 4:12Speaker 1: all the talent they have. Denver doesn't have a tremendous
- 4:15Speaker 1: amount of offensive talent, not nearly as much as the Eagles.
- 4:18Speaker 1: They have a good offensive line, good young Rooi running
- 4:20Speaker 1: backers getting a lot more play now because Dobbins being out.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Courtland Sutton is as good as a wide receiver as
- 4:26Speaker 1: any in the league. But after that, you know, second
- 4:28Speaker 1: year quarterback Knicks plays well at times, doesn't play well
- 4:32Speaker 1: at times, and then they really don't have a bunch
- 4:35Speaker 1: of true number two, number three, a great pass catching
- 4:38Speaker 1: tight end or anything like that. So they need that
- 4:42Speaker 1: defense to be excellent because there's a reason why offensively
- 4:46Speaker 1: they could be in and out. But you have to
- 4:48Speaker 1: give them credit. They played a lot of tough teams.
- 4:50Speaker 1: They're nine and two.
- 4:52Speaker 2: I won't quabble or quibble with.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Them being the number one seed. If you want to
- 4:56Speaker 1: tell me the Broncos the best team in the AFC,
- 4:58Speaker 1: I'll believe you. But maybe the distance between them and
- 5:03Speaker 1: the number two and number three isn't as wide as
- 5:06Speaker 1: you might see over in the NFC, which we'll get.
- 5:09Speaker 2: To do it a second.
- 5:12Speaker 1: The Broncos are the number one team right now in
- 5:14Speaker 1: the A of C I would put personally.
- 5:17Speaker 2: So here's here's how it looks right now.
- 5:19Speaker 1: If the playoffs started today, the Patriots are number two seed.
- 5:22Speaker 2: They're tied with the Broncos.
- 5:23Speaker 1: Nine and two. I just like the Broncos. The Patriots
- 5:27Speaker 1: have won I believe, seven straight games. They are on
- 5:30Speaker 1: quite a tear. They started off four and two I'm sorry,
- 5:33Speaker 1: eight straight games. So now they're nine and two. Do
- 5:36Speaker 1: they have a bunch of impressive victories in there? No,
- 5:39Speaker 1: to be fair, even their win over the Bills, which
- 5:41Speaker 1: was a very landmark win for them as far as
- 5:45Speaker 1: really emerging earlier in the week five when they won
- 5:47Speaker 1: that game, that was their statement win.
- 5:50Speaker 2: It's a great win.
- 5:51Speaker 1: They didn't beat the Buccaneers weeks ago. Buccaneers were banged up.
- 5:54Speaker 1: That was a good game. But other than that, you
- 5:56Speaker 1: see a lot of Jets, Falcons, Browns, Titans, Saints. So
- 5:59Speaker 1: it's very fair to give them a lot of credit
- 6:01Speaker 1: and really appreciate how Drake May is playing, and appreciate
- 6:06Speaker 1: Trayvon Henderson coming along. Christian Gonzalez a very good corner.
- 6:09Speaker 1: Mike Frable has done an excellent job, probably a candidate
- 6:12Speaker 1: for Coach of the Year. I mean, it's been a
- 6:13Speaker 1: long time now since the Patriots have you know, since Honestly,
- 6:18Speaker 1: the Patriots have been irrelevant, franchised basically since Tom Brady left.
- 6:23Speaker 2: They're struggling to pick up the pieces.
- 6:25Speaker 1: They've gone through guys like Jacoby Brissett and Matt Jones
- 6:28Speaker 1: and all sorts of quarterbacks and finally hit on one
- 6:32Speaker 1: in Drake May.
- 6:32Speaker 2: So good job by them.
- 6:34Speaker 1: But I don't think they're the second best team in
- 6:36Speaker 1: the AC and I think that when it comes down.
- 6:38Speaker 2: To the playoffs, I would be surprised.
- 6:41Speaker 1: I wouldn't be surprised if they got knocked off a
- 6:44Speaker 1: little early.
- 6:44Speaker 2: The third seed is the Colts. The Colts deserve it,
- 6:47Speaker 2: they're eight and two.
- 6:47Speaker 1: But what concerns me about the Colts, and we're gonna
- 6:50Speaker 1: learn a lot about them this week.
- 6:52Speaker 2: What concerns me about the Colts is you start.
- 6:55Speaker 1: To wonder, is the Daniel Jones coach gonna turn back
- 7:00Speaker 1: into a pumpkin at some point? And he played so
- 7:03Speaker 1: well for you know, six or seven weeks, and then
- 7:06Speaker 1: you got the complimentary football. He gave the complimentary footballall
- 7:11Speaker 1: to this elite running game of Jonathan Taylor, the offensive
- 7:14Speaker 1: line good, the defense been good.
- 7:16Speaker 2: They trade for Swaz Gardner.
- 7:17Speaker 1: But their last two weeks, you know, they turned them
- 7:19Speaker 1: all over six times. Week nine against the Steelers, they
- 7:21Speaker 1: lost that game. We talked about it.
- 7:22Speaker 2: I actually thought it was impressive.
- 7:24Speaker 1: Of them only to lose twenty seven to twenty despite
- 7:27Speaker 1: turning the ball over that many times. And then two
- 7:31Speaker 1: weeks ago, going into the buy they kind of had
- 7:33Speaker 1: to squeak out a victory over a very bad Atlanta
- 7:36Speaker 1: Falcons team. Well, I'll say this, a very disappointing Atlanta
- 7:40Speaker 1: Falcons team. And you know, it's fair to call them bad.
- 7:42Speaker 1: They're three and seven and the things are getting worse
- 7:45Speaker 1: for them. And we'll get to that a little bit,
- 7:47Speaker 1: but so they went to the buy we're not really
- 7:49Speaker 1: playing their best football. And now now the Colts at
- 7:54Speaker 1: eight and two come out and they have to play
- 7:58Speaker 1: in Kansas City on Sunday against the Chiefs team that
- 8:03Speaker 1: is trying to save its season.
- 8:06Speaker 2: Right now, the Chiefs.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Are the ninth they will be in ninth ninth best
- 8:11Speaker 1: record in the conference, so they're looking up at Jacksonville,
- 8:16Speaker 1: who they lost to already for that number seventy seed.
- 8:19Speaker 2: So they are five and five. You know that they
- 8:22Speaker 2: are going to be.
- 8:24Speaker 1: As motivated and determined as they ever will to win
- 8:28Speaker 1: this game. And it's at home, and not surprisingly, all right,
- 8:33Speaker 1: not surprisingly, the Chiefs are.
- 8:36Speaker 2: The favorite to win the game by three and a half.
- 8:38Speaker 2: This is it's been a very weird year.
- 8:40Speaker 1: You've heard probably talk about a lot a lot of
- 8:43Speaker 1: strange lines. But yes, the Chiefs at five and five
- 8:46Speaker 1: are three and a half point, for not one half,
- 8:49Speaker 1: three and a half point favorites over the Indianapolis Colts
- 8:52Speaker 1: who are eight and two. So that just goes to
- 8:56Speaker 1: show you how people view this matchup. And if if
- 9:00Speaker 1: the Colts lose this game and go to eight and three,
- 9:03Speaker 1: I think that will illustrate my point about being concerned
- 9:06Speaker 1: about how much of a powerhouse they really are. Now
- 9:09Speaker 1: they should still be able to win the AFC South.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Depends on what Jacksonville is gonna do.
- 9:15Speaker 2: I'm not. You guys know I'm not. There's six and
- 9:16Speaker 2: four Jacksonville.
- 9:18Speaker 1: If they win this week, you know, I get get
- 9:20Speaker 1: their seventh win, then you know, it becomes sort of
- 9:25Speaker 1: and the Chiefs don't win, and then they're only one
- 9:28Speaker 1: day behind.
- 9:29Speaker 2: So we'll see, we'll see what happens when we get there.
- 9:32Speaker 1: You obviously don't have to worry about the Tennessee and
- 9:35Speaker 1: but there is no team that you do have to
- 9:36Speaker 1: worry about. And after they beat the Bills on Thursday night,
- 9:40Speaker 1: the Houston Texans improved to six and five. If you've
- 9:44Speaker 1: listened to me all year long, I have talked about
- 9:47Speaker 1: the Texans like they are my baby. Okay, when they
- 9:50Speaker 1: were owing three with a five point loss to the Rams,
- 9:54Speaker 1: a one point loss to the Box, and a touchdown
- 9:57Speaker 1: loss to the Jags. When they're owned three, you heard
- 10:00Speaker 1: me say, this defense is so good and it is
- 10:03Speaker 1: getting wasted by an offense that is so bad. Now
- 10:08Speaker 1: they've they've figured some things offensively, they are still not great.
- 10:13Speaker 1: Obviously c J. Stroud has missed the last three games
- 10:16Speaker 1: Davis Mills has started, but they've won all three, including
- 10:20Speaker 1: an impressive win over the Bills.
- 10:22Speaker 2: Now the Bills are we'll get to them in a second.
- 10:25Speaker 2: They are not the.
- 10:26Speaker 1: Bills that we've expected. They have real issues on offense.
- 10:29Speaker 1: The defense has always been always, always been better coached
- 10:34Speaker 1: than it is talented, I would say, and this year
- 10:38Speaker 1: and the defense.
- 10:39Speaker 2: Has always relied on an offense.
- 10:41Speaker 1: That could score thirty thirty five points just by what
- 10:44Speaker 1: you know, Josh Allen rolling out of ben. But offensively,
- 10:48Speaker 1: the Bills are sporadic this year. So they have some
- 10:52Speaker 1: big games and then they have games against the Texans
- 10:54Speaker 1: again with a very good defense, and they lose twenty
- 10:57Speaker 1: three to nineteen. So now the Texans, who zero to
- 11:00Speaker 1: three and two and four have worked their way back
- 11:04Speaker 1: and there are six and five, and they get a
- 11:08Speaker 1: little mini pie, and then they will play the Colts
- 11:11Speaker 1: the following week in a game that I will be
- 11:13Speaker 1: talking about till like How's come Home, Because if the
- 11:17Speaker 1: Colts lose to the Chiefs and they go to eight
- 11:21Speaker 1: and three and they play the Texans by the way
- 11:26Speaker 1: at home, it'll be in Indianapolis following week Week thirteen,
- 11:29Speaker 1: and if the Colts lose that game and get to
- 11:31Speaker 1: eight and four with the Texans at seven and five,
- 11:35Speaker 1: now you've got a very interesting AFC South race because
- 11:41Speaker 1: guess who the Texans play in the last week of
- 11:44Speaker 1: the season in Week seventeen. I'm sorry, Week eighteen at home.
- 11:49Speaker 1: I'm sorry this game, I'm sorry. The game against the Colts, yeah,
- 11:52Speaker 1: is at this week, is at Indianapolis or next week,
- 11:55Speaker 1: but the last game of the year will be at Houston.
- 11:59Speaker 2: So if the text.
- 12:00Speaker 1: Are either tied or one game behind already with a
- 12:03Speaker 1: win over the Colts going into the final game of
- 12:05Speaker 1: the year, you would almost look at the Texans and
- 12:07Speaker 1: say they might be the favorite to win the AFC South,
- 12:10Speaker 1: despite how good of a start that the Indianapolis Colts
- 12:15Speaker 1: get it off too. So if you ask me right now,
- 12:19Speaker 1: who are the best teams and the three best teams
- 12:22Speaker 1: in the city, one of them I haven't even talked about,
- 12:24Speaker 1: and I fully expect. I note that the Ravens are
- 12:28Speaker 1: on a march right now. Right They've won four straight games.
- 12:33Speaker 1: Probably the most impressive win was over the Bears, But
- 12:35Speaker 1: to be honest with you, even though Miami, Minnesota, and
- 12:38Speaker 1: Cleveland don't look impressive.
- 12:39Speaker 2: Miami just Miami beat Miami handled the Bills a couple
- 12:42Speaker 2: of weeks ago.
- 12:42Speaker 1: Miami is the type of team that can sneak up
- 12:44Speaker 1: on you, and they throttled the Ravens throttled them. Okay's one, two,
- 12:49Speaker 1: two out of two straight games, with three out of four,
- 12:52Speaker 1: they're not good. But my point is the Ravens were
- 12:55Speaker 1: up against the wall at one and five, and then
- 12:58Speaker 1: they beat the Bears, good Bear, good, good good win,
- 13:00Speaker 1: fourteen point win, two and five. Then Miami three and five,
- 13:04Speaker 1: then Minnesota four and five. Then they beat the Browns
- 13:07Speaker 1: their divisional you know, division rivalry.
- 13:09Speaker 2: Wasn't a pretty win, but they won.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Now they're five and five and guess who they have
- 13:13Speaker 1: this week? The Jets, Yeah, the Jets, followed by the Bengals. Now,
- 13:18Speaker 1: the Bengals game will be interesting because that will be
- 13:21Speaker 1: the week that Joe Burrow makes his return, So the
- 13:24Speaker 1: Ravens could be six and five. The Bengals are still
- 13:26Speaker 1: the Bengals even with Joe Burrow there. Certainly got they
- 13:30Speaker 1: certainly can score points. But the Ravens win that game,
- 13:34Speaker 1: they get the seven and five then they played the
- 13:36Speaker 1: Steelers and the Bengals again. It's very possible that you
- 13:40Speaker 1: could see the Ravens winning their next four right and
- 13:44Speaker 1: getting to nine and five. Then you got Patriots, Packers, Steelers.
- 13:47Speaker 1: The Ravens are very good. They're a little bit banged
- 13:50Speaker 1: up again on defense, so I have some concerns. But
- 13:53Speaker 1: if you ask me right now, how different could the
- 13:56Speaker 1: top three seeds look as in the AFC from now
- 14:00Speaker 1: to four weeks from now, five weeks from now, it
- 14:03Speaker 1: could very easily. My outlook be Broncals one, Ravens two.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Now you know what, it'll still be still be the Patriots.
- 14:15Speaker 1: They're gonna have all right, let me restart this. As
- 14:18Speaker 1: far as who I think are the best teams, it
- 14:20Speaker 1: won't be seating wise not seating, but who will be
- 14:23Speaker 1: the three best teams in the AFC in four to
- 14:26Speaker 1: five weeks? I could see it being the Broncos, the
- 14:29Speaker 1: Ravens and the Texans.
- 14:31Speaker 2: Hey it's Jeff Mosher.
- 14:32Speaker 1: And if you have a family and kids at home,
- 14:34Speaker 1: like me, you always want them to be fully protected.

- 14:48Speaker 1: why wouldn't you. Traditional security systems only react after a

- 15:36Speaker 1: security system at simplysafe dot com slash bird. That's simplysafe
- 15:41Speaker 1: dot com slash bird. I just look at the other
- 15:44Speaker 1: teams and I say, can Indianapolis keep this up?
- 15:48Speaker 2: Is newing good enough?
- 15:50Speaker 1: Because there's a schedule with tell you they haven't faced
- 15:53Speaker 1: too many tough opponents. Are they good enough to withstand
- 15:58Speaker 1: the any playoff caliber teams? Because the Patriots the rest
- 16:01Speaker 1: of the way have the Bengals, then the Giants, then
- 16:04Speaker 1: another rematch against the Bills. I mean Week sixteen Ravens
- 16:08Speaker 1: will be a very very interesting game. We're all start
- 16:11Speaker 1: to get part of my answer by the way I
- 16:13Speaker 1: came to Baltimore. And if the Ravens win that game
- 16:16Speaker 1: and are continuing to be on the winning streak, I
- 16:18Speaker 1: think it'll prove me right about the Broncos, the Ravens,
- 16:21Speaker 1: and the Texans as the three best teams in the AFC.
- 16:27Speaker 1: I'm not telling you right now that the Colts are done.
- 16:30Speaker 1: I think a lot will be determined over the next
- 16:32Speaker 1: few weeks. Again, this Kansas City game is huge for them.
- 16:37Speaker 1: Have concerns, but I'm not gonna.
- 16:38Speaker 2: Just throw out the fact that they're eight and two.
- 16:41Speaker 1: But Chiefs, Texans, Jaguars after the bye week for the Indianapolis,
- 16:47Speaker 1: well not they just have.
- 16:49Speaker 2: Their bye weeks.
- 16:49Speaker 1: Chiefs this week, Texans followed by Jaguars followed by Seahawks.
- 16:55Speaker 2: Okay, Seahawks are a really good team. So I think
- 16:58Speaker 2: when you look at the Colts schedule, you say, hey, great,
- 17:01Speaker 2: you're great.
- 17:02Speaker 1: You're eighting too, But any little slide here, they certainly
- 17:06Speaker 1: can lose a couple of these games over the next
- 17:09Speaker 1: four or five weeks, and the tide my turn in
- 17:12Speaker 1: the favor of the Texans. Now, I could also be
- 17:14Speaker 1: completely wrong about the Texans.
- 17:17Speaker 2: Strap will come back.
- 17:19Speaker 1: They get this little mini bike because they played Thursday night,
- 17:22Speaker 1: and maybe he just is having a bad you know,
- 17:24Speaker 1: continue to have a bad year, or doesn't have the
- 17:26Speaker 1: little spark that Davis Mills seem to supply. It's not
- 17:29Speaker 1: like Mills was lighting up the scoreboard, by the way,
- 17:32Speaker 1: but they were moving the chains. They have found something
- 17:34Speaker 1: with Woody Marks, the rookie at usc As. They're running
- 17:37Speaker 1: back Nico Collins playing. Whether it's the defense, their defense
- 17:41Speaker 1: is so so good.
- 17:44Speaker 2: I still don't know how they have twenty nine points
- 17:45Speaker 2: to the Jacks.
- 17:46Speaker 1: But every once in a while you have a bad game,
- 17:48Speaker 1: but their defense is tremendous.
- 17:50Speaker 2: And if they can get.
- 17:51Speaker 1: A little bit of offensive firepower from CJ. Stroud when
- 17:55Speaker 1: he comes back, this can be a very dangerous team.
- 17:58Speaker 2: I want to remind everybody the Texas. We're in the playoffs.
- 18:00Speaker 1: Last year, played the Chiefs in the I want to
- 18:04Speaker 1: say divisional round or was it? Well, yeah, the Dolphins, right,
- 18:08Speaker 1: and then they lost to the Chiefs in the divisional
- 18:10Speaker 1: round last year. Is that that's not right? Give me
- 18:13Speaker 1: one second on this, guys. I'll remember exactly what they did.
- 18:18Speaker 2: They beat the Chargers. They beat the Chargers. That was
- 18:21Speaker 2: an impressive win. They smoked the Chargers.
- 18:24Speaker 1: In the first round by round thirty two to twelve,
- 18:27Speaker 1: and then they only lost to the Chiefs by nine
- 18:30Speaker 1: twenty three fourteen. And if you remember, there were some
- 18:33Speaker 1: pretty brutal calls in that game in terms of roughing
- 18:36Speaker 1: the passer against my homes and everything as there typically is.
- 18:40Speaker 1: So look, the Texans to me, with that defense, they
- 18:45Speaker 1: can be a lot like the Broncos. They can just
- 18:47Speaker 1: be really, really tough as things come together for them,
- 18:49Speaker 1: as long as they can move the ball a.
- 18:51Speaker 2: Little bit offensively.
- 18:53Speaker 1: Let's look over, you know, you got the very I
- 18:56Speaker 1: think THEFC is far better from top to bottom than
- 19:04Speaker 1: the AFC. I mean, you have your first three or
- 19:07Speaker 1: four teams here, and again, if the playoffs ended today,
- 19:10Speaker 1: you know the Eagles are number one seed, the Rams
- 19:11Speaker 1: of the two seed, the Bears of the three seed.
- 19:14Speaker 1: I don't know if that's gonna hold. We'll see, but
- 19:16Speaker 1: the Bears have been formidable. But they're kind of like
- 19:17Speaker 1: the Patriots. They've gotten fat off, finally having a quarterback
- 19:23Speaker 1: and some talent and the new head coach, but playing
- 19:25Speaker 1: a pretty soft schedule. However, however, it's not been too
- 19:30Speaker 1: soft schedule. I don't want to take away some of
- 19:33Speaker 1: the impressive Chicago wins. You know, their first win was
- 19:37Speaker 1: at home against the Cowboys, in a game that nobody
- 19:39Speaker 1: thought the Bears were gonna win.
- 19:42Speaker 2: They have.
- 19:42Speaker 1: They smoked the Bengals, scoring forty seven points.
- 19:46Speaker 2: They had.
- 19:46Speaker 1: They did beat the Vikings all right last week at home.
- 19:49Speaker 1: They got the Steelers this week. I know their schedule
- 19:52Speaker 1: wasn't loaded a bunch of great wins, but they've been
- 19:56Speaker 1: impressive nonetheless, and so they're right now the number three seed.
- 20:01Speaker 2: Now, the team to watch, you.
- 20:03Speaker 1: Guys are thinking they're gonna be funny for saying this.
- 20:05Speaker 1: The team to watch is the Detroit Lions.
- 20:07Speaker 2: All right.
- 20:08Speaker 1: The Lions have lost two of their last three games.
- 20:11Speaker 1: They're six and four. They just scored nine points against
- 20:15Speaker 1: the Eagles, last week at the link.
- 20:17Speaker 2: Why are they the team to watch?
- 20:19Speaker 1: Well, let's go through the Detroit line schedule over the
- 20:23Speaker 1: next six or seven weeks here. Okay, first of all,
- 20:27Speaker 1: they don't play a single game in a cold, outdoor environment.
- 20:34Speaker 1: And when the Detroit Lions are inside with all that
- 20:36Speaker 1: speed they have with Williams and with Gibbs, and then
- 20:40Speaker 1: you know, with Goff tending to be a better quarterback
- 20:42Speaker 1: inside than out. Okay, they the schedule aligned so well
- 20:46Speaker 1: for them. It starts off this week at home against
- 20:48Speaker 1: the Giants. The following week at home against the Packers.
- 20:52Speaker 2: That'll be a tough game, it will be. They already
- 20:55Speaker 2: lost the Packers, but that was at Land Bow. Then
- 20:58Speaker 2: they get another three straight home games.
- 21:02Speaker 1: The Eagles haven't had two straight. The Eagles will not
- 21:04Speaker 1: have back to back home games at all this year.
- 21:07Speaker 1: The Lions get three in November, amazingly. Right so, and
- 21:12Speaker 1: of course that's a Thanksgiving game against the Packers, right so,
- 21:15Speaker 1: home versus Giants, home versus the Packers. Then you get
- 21:17Speaker 1: a little mini by there, and then home again the
- 21:21Speaker 1: following week against the Cowboys. Not an easy stretch from
- 21:25Speaker 1: an opponent standpoint, but you're a home you're home in
- 21:29Speaker 1: all three games and you're inside, and then you got
- 21:32Speaker 1: to go play the Rams week fifteen. All right, that
- 21:35Speaker 1: will be a very very difficult game. But we know
- 21:38Speaker 1: la it's a stadium that has a roof and turf.
- 21:42Speaker 1: I mean, I know it's open on the sides and
- 21:43Speaker 1: everything like that, but whether it will not be a factor.
- 21:46Speaker 1: Then they come home to play the Steelers, not a
- 21:48Speaker 1: very good team, but again at home, and then they
- 21:51Speaker 1: play at Minnesota and then their last game of the
- 21:56Speaker 1: year is at the Bear, So they will play six
- 22:01Speaker 1: consecutive games indoors without any weather issues. They have injuries
- 22:07Speaker 1: that will probably start to work out in their favor
- 22:10Speaker 1: as far as guys coming back, especially in the secondary
- 22:13Speaker 1: with Kirby Joseph and with Terry and Arnold and with
- 22:16Speaker 1: their other corner I mean, they've had injuries everywhere, but
- 22:18Speaker 1: they still played some pretty good football, and defensively they've
- 22:21Speaker 1: played decently as well, even with their injuries. So the
- 22:24Speaker 1: Detroit Lines to me are the team that could very
- 22:28Speaker 1: easily make a move here over the next few weeks.
- 22:31Speaker 1: And if it wouldn't surprise me if they overtook Chicago
- 22:34Speaker 1: for that number three seed. I like the Bucks at
- 22:37Speaker 1: six and four. The Bucks got to get healthy. I
- 22:39Speaker 1: guess they're getting god and went back. They need Bucky
- 22:42Speaker 1: Irving back in the worst way. But they have hung
- 22:46Speaker 1: in there. I know that it doesn't look great for.
- 22:49Speaker 2: Them right now they've lost a couple of games.
- 22:51Speaker 1: That this is a team that was once looking as
- 22:53Speaker 1: good as any team in the NFL. They were six
- 22:58Speaker 1: and two at one point two games six and four,
- 23:01Speaker 1: and now they have the Rams this week, so it's
- 23:03Speaker 1: very possible they fall to six and five and everybody
- 23:06Speaker 1: looks at them, the Bucks and says, this isn't that
- 23:09Speaker 1: good a team. Their defense is not that great. They
- 23:12Speaker 1: give up a lot of points. However, let them get
- 23:15Speaker 1: Bucky Irving back, let them get Chris Godwin who'll be returning.
- 23:20Speaker 1: And the bottom line is they're gonna borrowing some major,
- 23:24Speaker 1: major fall from Grace. They're gonna win the NAC South.
- 23:29Speaker 1: So they got the fourth seed locked up. So what
- 23:31Speaker 1: I think will happened was.
- 23:32Speaker 2: We'll be will be the Eagles one s two seed
- 23:35Speaker 2: or flip flop.
- 23:36Speaker 1: It could be the Rams Eagles. By the end of
- 23:38Speaker 1: the year, we'll see Rams Eagles. The three seat will
- 23:40Speaker 1: be the Lions. The four seat will be the box.
- 23:42Speaker 1: Then you got Seattle, uh, Seattle, Green Bay, and San
- 23:46Speaker 1: Francisco right now, five, six and seven.
- 23:48Speaker 2: But again I.
- 23:49Speaker 1: Think Detroit will probably win, so that kicks Chicago probably
- 23:54Speaker 1: into the seventh seed or six or seventh seed. It's
- 23:57Speaker 1: basically gonna be between Chicago, Green Bay, and San Francisco,
- 24:02Speaker 1: with Carolina as an outside chance as those last three seeds,
- 24:07Speaker 1: but I.
- 24:07Speaker 2: Mean those are tough.
- 24:08Speaker 1: I mean San Francisco is seven and four. They have
- 24:12Speaker 1: with all the injuries they've had. The forty nine Ers
- 24:15Speaker 1: at seven and four look thirty times better than the
- 24:18Speaker 1: Jaguars at six and four.
- 24:21Speaker 2: So that's why I.
- 24:22Speaker 1: Said I think the NFC, there's gonna be a team
- 24:24Speaker 1: that doesn't make it that is a pretty good team.
- 24:28Speaker 1: And by the way, I know the forty nine Ers
- 24:30Speaker 1: did lose to the Jags in Week four, but again
- 24:33Speaker 1: the forty nine ers have been as banged up. They've
- 24:35Speaker 1: lost everybody on defense posta Warner, They've lost guys in
- 24:39Speaker 1: the secondary, they lost their backup to Warner.
- 24:42Speaker 2: All right, he's been heard.
- 24:43Speaker 1: They've lost. They still haven't had Brandon i Yuk played.
- 24:46Speaker 1: They lost Kittle for a few weeks. They lost Shirt Jennings.
- 24:48Speaker 1: I mean, amazingly McCaffrey state healthy, Pierceoll has been out.
- 24:51Speaker 1: I mean Mac Jones had to start what five games.
- 24:55Speaker 1: The forty nine Ers are a good team, and they've
- 24:57Speaker 1: had a case scheduled too, all right, so I look
- 25:00Speaker 1: at them as a seventh seat, and as green Bay
- 25:02Speaker 1: right now as a sixth seed, but that could be
- 25:04Speaker 1: you know, Seattle to Chicago, and you look over in
- 25:08Speaker 1: the AFC Chargers Buffalo Jags five.
- 25:11Speaker 2: To six, seven flood teams.
- 25:12Speaker 1: The Chargers, Chargers are in a tough spot. I said
- 25:17Speaker 1: last week, I thought that the Chargers are in for
- 25:21Speaker 1: a second half slide because they lost both of their
- 25:25Speaker 1: offensive tackles. In fact, I think I said it two
- 25:27Speaker 1: weeks ago after the beat the Dealers twenty five to ten.
- 25:30Speaker 2: No, yeah, I said it last week. I said, I
- 25:33Speaker 2: feel like the.
- 25:33Speaker 1: Chargers will probably beat the Jaguars head into the buy
- 25:37Speaker 1: to get to eight and three. But then I worried
- 25:41Speaker 1: about them down the stretch when they had to put
- 25:43Speaker 1: the Eagles to Chiefs, the Cowboys and Texans and Roncos.
- 25:45Speaker 2: Well, their slides started early.
- 25:46Speaker 1: They lost, They got absolutely throttled by the j Jaguars,
- 25:51Speaker 1: thirty five to six, the same Jaguars team that every
- 25:53Speaker 1: week I talk about here on the show and say
- 25:55Speaker 1: that I don't like.
- 25:56Speaker 2: Well, they throttled the crap out of the Chargers.
- 25:59Speaker 1: So now that Chargers seven and four, and they'll get
- 26:03Speaker 1: a gift against the Raiders coming out of the buy.
- 26:06Speaker 1: I imagine they'll be able to win that game, go
- 26:08Speaker 1: to eight and four, but with their offensive tackles out
- 26:11Speaker 1: and that offense going to struggle, the good luck finding
- 26:16Speaker 1: three more wins among Eagles, Chiefs, Cowboys, Texans, Broncos, and
- 26:20Speaker 1: I don't know how many wins it's gonna take to
- 26:21Speaker 1: get to hold on to that seventh seed or I'm sorry,
- 26:24Speaker 1: they're in the fifth seed right now at six and two.
- 26:26Speaker 1: But again, Houston and Kansas City and Baltimore, they're all
- 26:30Speaker 1: on the outside looking in. Now all those teams are
- 26:32Speaker 1: capable of erasing their deficit against the Chargers to get in. Hey,
- 26:36Speaker 1: I still like a good night out, but I'm not
- 26:38Speaker 1: always in the mood to drink. And that's why I
- 26:41Speaker 1: looked for a great alternative and I found one. It's

- 28:05Speaker 1: be a very fascinating race that Chargers have to figure
- 28:08Speaker 1: out a way that they're two of their best players
- 28:12Speaker 1: Joe Altner Sean Slater right, two backups at offensive tackle.
- 28:16Speaker 1: It sounds like they're keeping back down the guard. They
- 28:19Speaker 1: gotta figure out a way to get offense and keep
- 28:22Speaker 1: Justin Herbert protected because when he has to do too much,
- 28:25Speaker 1: he gets hurt. He runs, he takes hits, and if
- 28:28Speaker 1: he starts taking a bunch of hits, they are not
- 28:30Speaker 1: going to be the same team as the one team
- 28:33Speaker 1: that I feel like I was right about a couple
- 28:35Speaker 1: of weeks ago when I said watch out, they might
- 28:37Speaker 1: be in for a major, major slide.
- 28:40Speaker 2: So right now, the top three teams to.
- 28:42Speaker 1: Me in the NFC the best teams, the Rams, the Eagles,
- 28:50Speaker 1: and to me, I'm really you know, it's either Detroit
- 28:52Speaker 1: or Seattle. I'm very anxious to see how Tampa Bay
- 28:55Speaker 1: plays when it gets healthy, but it might be one
- 28:57Speaker 1: of those years where they just don't get everybody healthy.
- 29:00Speaker 1: I don't know about Green Bay, even with getting Jayden
- 29:04Speaker 1: Reed back soon, not this week, They'll get them back soon.
- 29:06Speaker 1: They're certainly formidable, but I think something's missing from them
- 29:11Speaker 1: as far as on the first team out, which I
- 29:15Speaker 1: think they'll be in. You know, Carolina Cowboys, we'll see.
- 29:20Speaker 1: I just I just don't know if they have enough. Obviously,
- 29:25Speaker 1: the Cowboys have to make their move right now, and
- 29:28Speaker 1: I think we'll know.
- 29:29Speaker 2: A lot about the Eagles. They're eight and two by
- 29:33Speaker 2: the time I do this next show.
- 29:34Speaker 1: They're gonna play two games. They're gonna played the Cowboys
- 29:37Speaker 1: Sunday and they're gonna have played the Bears on Black Friday.
- 29:43Speaker 1: So if the Eagle go to and Oh and get
- 29:46Speaker 1: the ten and two, they're the best team in the
- 29:47Speaker 1: NFC and making them a strong case of the best
- 29:49Speaker 1: team in the NFL. And you can't stay but their
- 29:53Speaker 1: offense anymore.
- 29:54Speaker 2: You just can't.
- 29:55Speaker 1: If they get to ten and two, you got we
- 29:57Speaker 1: all got to stop just worrying about the offensive slide.
- 30:00Speaker 1: It doesn't mean with the Super Bowl, no, but if
- 30:02Speaker 1: they get to tend two and beat the Cowboys and
- 30:05Speaker 1: then beat the Bears, then they have made a case
- 30:07Speaker 1: with their strength of schedule wins with right now, is
- 30:09Speaker 1: the best in the league of fifty strength of victory
- 30:13Speaker 1: teams of fifty percentage, All right, then you just say
- 30:19Speaker 1: there's nothing more they can prove. It doesn't matter if
- 30:21Speaker 1: they have flaws. They are ten and two, they'll be
- 30:24Speaker 1: the best team in the NFL if that's the case.
- 30:26Speaker 1: If they go one in one, it means they either
- 30:34Speaker 1: lost to an average Cowboys team, which would validate some concerns,
- 30:41Speaker 1: but then and then beat a Bears team that again
- 30:43Speaker 1: is a little bit inflated. They're not as great as
- 30:48Speaker 1: the schedule may look. Okay, but you go one and one.
- 30:51Speaker 1: So when if they go one on one in that stretch,
- 30:52Speaker 1: that means one of those two things happened, or it
- 30:56Speaker 1: means they beat the Cowboys and lost to the Bears.
- 30:59Speaker 1: So either one will if they go one on one
- 31:02Speaker 1: over the next two games kind of will open up
- 31:04Speaker 1: a little bit of a question, and not about how
- 31:07Speaker 1: could they or if they're going to be a top seed,
- 31:10Speaker 1: but more about is there a distance between them and
- 31:13Speaker 1: teams like the Rams and the Seahawks, Okay, and maybe
- 31:17Speaker 1: even the Lions as they make their ascent over the
- 31:20Speaker 1: second half of the year.
- 31:21Speaker 2: In a rematch would be very interesting.
- 31:24Speaker 1: If they go oh and two, which is the most
- 31:27Speaker 1: unlikely scenario, and they're eight and four, folks, it's going.
- 31:31Speaker 2: To be a discussion.
- 31:32Speaker 1: I don't think that's gonna happen, but hey, I'm just saying,
- 31:35Speaker 1: I'm giving you every single scenario on how we would
- 31:39Speaker 1: view the Eagles.
- 31:39Speaker 2: They're either going to be.
- 31:40Speaker 1: Viewed by the time I do this next show as
- 31:43Speaker 1: unquestionably the NFL's best team is right in that mix
- 31:47Speaker 1: with the Rams in Seattle where there's not as much
- 31:50Speaker 1: distance Detroit, anybody else you want to throw in there,
- 31:53Speaker 1: maybe Tampa when they're healthy, or doomsday scenario, which is
- 31:57Speaker 1: uh oh there, this team can get tripped out. Then
- 32:01Speaker 1: you gotta figure out some things very quickly. The Rams
- 32:05Speaker 1: clearly the second bat the Rams can make an argument
- 32:07Speaker 1: that they're the best team in the NFL. Their strength
- 32:10Speaker 1: of victory is not far behind the Eagles. Eagles are
- 32:12Speaker 1: at five to nine, the Rams are at point five
- 32:15Speaker 1: to one to two. All right, and we all know
- 32:17Speaker 1: that the Rams very easily could have won that game
- 32:18Speaker 1: against the Eagles. They got their field goal blocked. Kind
- 32:20Speaker 1: of crazy things are happening for the Eagles in the
- 32:23Speaker 1: first part of the schedule, but the Rams have been
- 32:26Speaker 1: rock solid spins. But hey, this is a big week
- 32:29Speaker 1: for them as well. And in fact, their schedule will
- 32:33Speaker 1: continue to be difficult. To get the Bucks and then
- 32:36Speaker 1: the Panthers over the next two weeks. All right, it's
- 32:39Speaker 1: not impossible, but they have to play the Bucks at
- 32:41Speaker 1: home and then the Panthers on the road. They get
- 32:43Speaker 1: a lay up after that, somewhat of a layup they get.
- 32:45Speaker 1: It's an NFC West game. But they'll have the Cardinals
- 32:48Speaker 1: in Week fourteen, then that big Week fifteen showdown against
- 32:52Speaker 1: the Lions, which is interesting because I thought, I think
- 32:55Speaker 1: last year they had a huge showdown against the Lions,
- 32:57Speaker 1: if I recall correctly, it was in December, and the
- 33:00Speaker 1: Rams scored like forty one points in that game.
- 33:02Speaker 2: For give me a second, I'll try to check on that.
- 33:07Speaker 2: Oh no, it was the Bills, that's right.
- 33:08Speaker 1: They beat the Bills forty four to two, forty four
- 33:10Speaker 1: to forty two in Week fourteen, and that was sort
- 33:13Speaker 1: of like that statement win that made you realize how
- 33:15Speaker 1: good the Rams tour actually. But they are Rams are
- 33:19Speaker 1: a good, good team. They are so balanced. They have
- 33:22Speaker 1: good offense, good defense. Now, the one thing about the Rams.
- 33:25Speaker 1: I wanted to bring this up. The Rams just put
- 33:28Speaker 1: three starters on IR. They put their offensive tackle, Rob
- 33:33Speaker 1: Havevenstein on IR. They put maybe the best overall player
- 33:36Speaker 1: on their back end, Quinton lake On is like this.
- 33:40Speaker 2: Hybrid Nickels safety guy. They move them all around.
- 33:43Speaker 1: Really good player, excellent player, big part of what they
- 33:47Speaker 1: do defensively. He's on IR, and they're tight end Tyler
- 33:50Speaker 1: Higbee on IR as well. That is pretty significant for
- 33:54Speaker 1: this Rams team, and I'm very curious to see how
- 33:57Speaker 1: they how they handle that because those that's not like
- 34:01Speaker 1: three minor guys. Now, I know they play a bunch
- 34:04Speaker 1: of tight ends. They've been playing four tight ends and
- 34:05Speaker 1: they have some good young ones, but losing three starters
- 34:11Speaker 1: h is not very easy. And then of course you
- 34:13Speaker 1: got there. They're the Sunday night game against the Bucks.
- 34:16Speaker 1: I mean, if ever time for the Bucks to start
- 34:18Speaker 1: to say, all right, look, you know we got all
- 34:20Speaker 1: these injuries and now you got some let's go, let's
- 34:24Speaker 1: go square it off. And see the Rams are seven
- 34:26Speaker 1: point favorites in that game. So those are that That's how
- 34:30Speaker 1: I see the NFC right now. I mean, I think
- 34:33Speaker 1: the Lions are really the sneaky team to watch. I'm
- 34:35Speaker 1: not sure about the Packers. I think the Seahawks are
- 34:38Speaker 1: is good. By the way the Seahawks losing to the
- 34:39Speaker 1: Rams last week and the four interceptions by Darnold and
- 34:43Speaker 1: everything like that, I'm gonna make a similar statement that
- 34:46Speaker 1: I did when the Colts lost this to the Steelers
- 34:49Speaker 1: after their six turnover game. It's amazing and you only
- 34:52Speaker 1: lost by a touch. It shows how good you are.
- 34:56Speaker 1: That game for the Seahawks, losing into the Rams twenty
- 35:01Speaker 1: one to nineteen despite four interceptions actually tells you how
- 35:05Speaker 1: good the Seahawks are.
- 35:06Speaker 2: That they have four.
- 35:07Speaker 1: Interceptions, four turnovers and only lost by two. They had
- 35:10Speaker 1: every opportunity to win that game. That should be in
- 35:12Speaker 1: the back of the Rams minds a little bit and
- 35:14Speaker 1: that should be fuel for the Seahawks as they go
- 35:17Speaker 1: and play the Titans this week, and if they're going
- 35:20Speaker 1: to take their frustrations out, that game could get very,
- 35:22Speaker 1: very ugly. The Seahawks are thirteen and a half point favorites,
- 35:26Speaker 1: even though they're in Tennessee, and Tennessee's got some good
- 35:29Speaker 1: defensive players, But man, Seattle, if you're ever gonna look
- 35:32Speaker 1: at a team and a loss and say, hey, you
- 35:34Speaker 1: guys are really legit, that would be the one. So
- 35:39Speaker 1: that's a look at the NFL. You know, as far
- 35:41Speaker 1: as the games, you know we've got. I told you
- 35:43Speaker 1: the Bears are playing the Steelers. The Steelers are an
- 35:45Speaker 1: up and down team. Rogers is hurt bribe. I guess
- 35:48Speaker 1: he's going to try to play through a left a
- 35:51Speaker 1: fractured left rift, something like that.
- 35:53Speaker 2: That's going to be very tough. I don't know how
- 35:55Speaker 2: they're going to handle that.
- 35:56Speaker 1: I feel like the Bears are again, they're playing a
- 35:59Speaker 1: cake schedule. There's a good spot for them. You hope
- 36:02Speaker 1: they're not looking ahead too much of the Black Friday game.
- 36:03Speaker 1: They're two and a half point favorites over to Steelers.
- 36:06Speaker 1: The Patriots should get the Patriots probably.
- 36:10Speaker 2: I wonder if the Bengals did this.
- 36:12Speaker 1: They practiced Joe Burrow all week, and I wonder if
- 36:14Speaker 1: that was to get New England to prepare as if
- 36:17Speaker 1: Burrow is going to play.
- 36:18Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 36:18Speaker 1: You know, Joe Flacco throws the ball around too, But
- 36:21Speaker 1: either way, Flacco is gonna go. Flacco didn't have a
- 36:23Speaker 1: very good game last week against the Steelers. It may
- 36:26Speaker 1: just be that his steam engine from the first three
- 36:28Speaker 1: starts is gonna diminish it a little bit, but the
- 36:31Speaker 1: soft schedule for the Patriots continues. They will be This is,
- 36:34Speaker 1: by the way, the week where you start to look
- 36:35Speaker 1: at these really good teams that you have questions about
- 36:38Speaker 1: and say, do you slip up somewhere? Did the Patriots
- 36:41Speaker 1: go into Cincinnati and lose a little edge. We'll see
- 36:45Speaker 1: there should be a game that they win their seven
- 36:47Speaker 1: and a half point favorites. I'd said the Lions are
- 36:49Speaker 1: at home against the Giants. Dart once again is gonna
- 36:53Speaker 1: take a back seat, which is the right thing to do.
- 36:55Speaker 1: Jamison Williams, will Jamison, Jamius Winston, We'll start for the
- 37:01Speaker 1: Giants again. Had an opportunity to win the game at
- 37:04Speaker 1: the end last week against the Packers, didn't do it.
- 37:07Speaker 1: Detroit twelve and a half point favorites. Packers are not
- 37:10Speaker 1: yet fully healthy, They're not getting Jaden Reid back. They
- 37:13Speaker 1: are six point favorites at home against the Vikings. Vikings
- 37:16Speaker 1: are kind of dead and buried.
- 37:17Speaker 2: At this point.
- 37:18Speaker 1: I think that they really need an off season of
- 37:21Speaker 1: JJ McCarthy being healthy, not rehabbing and working with Kevin
- 37:25Speaker 1: O'Connell to really figure out what JJ McCarthy is because
- 37:29Speaker 1: they've won games this year in spite of him.
- 37:31Speaker 2: I think that's fair to say in spite of their
- 37:33Speaker 2: quarterback play. They have one games. But you know, the
- 37:35Speaker 2: Packers going.
- 37:37Speaker 1: Into Lambeau finally getting snapping out of their streak and
- 37:39Speaker 1: getting a win over the Giants are going to be very,
- 37:42Speaker 1: very motivated to put things together. And I know Jacobs
- 37:45Speaker 1: is banged up and it sucks that they lost their
- 37:47Speaker 1: center for the year against the Eagles. I don't know
- 37:49Speaker 1: this will be an easy game because the division game,
- 37:52Speaker 1: but the Packers are really trying to establish momentum right now.
- 37:55Speaker 1: I mentioned Seattle going to Tennessee Indianapolis Chiefs. We talked
- 37:59Speaker 1: about Ravens at home against the Jets. They are thirteen
- 38:03Speaker 1: and a half point favorites. The one thing about the
- 38:05Speaker 1: Ravens that I think is a little bit different, even
- 38:08Speaker 1: in their win streak, you can tell Lamar is not
- 38:11Speaker 1: running as much. You know, he missed all those games
- 38:14Speaker 1: with a hamstring injury. It seems like they have been
- 38:17Speaker 1: determined to make sure he doesn't reaggravate it while these
- 38:20Speaker 1: weeks he's been back, but as soon as he gets
- 38:23Speaker 1: to feel one hundred percent and starts to get his
- 38:25Speaker 1: own running game mixed in, and that could be this
- 38:27Speaker 1: week against the Jets.
- 38:28Speaker 2: We'll see then.
- 38:30Speaker 1: I think you will see the Ravens really really take off.
- 38:34Speaker 1: The Jets are making a quarterback change to Trod Taylor.
- 38:37Speaker 1: The only thing I could say about the Jets is,
- 38:40Speaker 1: you know, they're fighting a little bit harder and maybe
- 38:42Speaker 1: the quarterback change to Tarrod Taylor helps them move the
- 38:45Speaker 1: chains a little bit. You know, they had won two
- 38:47Speaker 1: in a row. They lost to the Patriots, but it
- 38:48Speaker 1: wasn't a blowout. I mean they lost by thirteen, but
- 38:51Speaker 1: it was a close game and then the Patriots tacked
- 38:53Speaker 1: on with a touchdown at the end.
- 38:55Speaker 2: But the Ravens, it will be a whole ball new
- 38:57Speaker 2: ball whacks for them.
- 38:58Speaker 1: But we'll see if Tyrod tayl can get the ball
- 39:01Speaker 1: to Ady Mitchell, the receiver the Jets got in a
- 39:03Speaker 1: trade when they traded Gardner to the Colts, is a
- 39:06Speaker 1: pretty good receiver. He has some drops issues, he has
- 39:08Speaker 1: some other issues, but you know they need some firepower
- 39:12Speaker 1: Garrett Wilson out and Adie Mitchell can give it to him,
- 39:14Speaker 1: and maybe Torot Taylor can get him the ball man
- 39:18Speaker 1: four o'clock, the Browns and the Raiders. I listen, I
- 39:20Speaker 1: know it's Sadr Sanders's starting debut. I must be like
- 39:24Speaker 1: with a one guy in the world that doesn't care.
- 39:26Speaker 1: I mean, I'm just you know who cares. Shad Door
- 39:30Speaker 1: Sanders is, don't.
- 39:32Speaker 2: I don't look at him as some guy who should
- 39:33Speaker 2: have gone in the first round and fell all the
- 39:34Speaker 2: way to the fifth or six. We'll see. I mean,
- 39:38Speaker 2: maybe he'll surprise us all and throw for three hundred yards.
- 39:40Speaker 1: I mean, the Raiders could certainly be the team that
- 39:44Speaker 1: you can do that against. The Raiders are four point favorites,
- 39:46Speaker 1: though at home Jacksonville, Arizona. Now, if I'm right about Jacksonville,
- 39:52Speaker 1: like I've said all year, don't buy into them. They
- 39:55Speaker 1: are they are coming off a very impressive win that
- 39:58Speaker 1: I mentioned against their Chargers. But I have not liked
- 40:02Speaker 1: this team all year long. They've been sporadic. I will
- 40:06Speaker 1: say that their losses mostly have been to some good teams.
- 40:09Speaker 1: Their last three losses have been close to the Texans
- 40:12Speaker 1: by a touchdown to they lost to the they got
- 40:15Speaker 1: killed by the Rams by twenty eight points, and they
- 40:17Speaker 1: lost to the Seahawks. By eight, So you know they've
- 40:20Speaker 1: lost the good teams, and the Cardinals are just the
- 40:22Speaker 1: type of team who've been just taking it on the
- 40:24Speaker 1: chin the last two weeks that I could see delivering
- 40:27Speaker 1: an upset Jacksonville's only two and a half point favorites.
- 40:31Speaker 1: If Jacksonville wants to prove to me that they're for real,
- 40:34Speaker 1: and I don't, who can. I'm sure they don't care
- 40:36Speaker 1: what Jeff Moser thinks. But they win this game, and
- 40:39Speaker 1: they win it pretty convincingly. If they don't, they are
- 40:43Speaker 1: the frauds that I've basically said that they've been all
- 40:45Speaker 1: year long. Eagles Cowboys. We covered that in the Inside
- 40:50Speaker 1: the Birds pregame show. It's already up on the platform.
- 40:52Speaker 1: I got some concerns. I think I don't know whether
- 40:56Speaker 1: Dallas is a one week wonder with that pass rush
- 40:58Speaker 1: against the Raiders or if talent is just talent. And
- 41:01Speaker 1: when you add Quentin Williams to an interior rush that
- 41:04Speaker 1: includes Odegi Zua Kenny Clark, it's pretty good. And then
- 41:09Speaker 1: the edge rushers have really come on. Is this defense
- 41:12Speaker 1: truly better? We will find out, and ken the Eagles
- 41:15Speaker 1: muster some offense, we will find out. The Eagles are
- 41:18Speaker 1: three point favorites in that game. The last four twenty
- 41:21Speaker 1: five game Falcons at Saints. The Falcons have lost Pennix
- 41:25Speaker 1: for the year, They've lost Drake London. They're out, I
- 41:29Speaker 1: mean right now. B John Robinson is really their only
- 41:33Speaker 1: offensive weapon.
- 41:34Speaker 2: We'll see if Kyle Pitts and.
- 41:37Speaker 1: I guess Darnell Mooney can help move the chains. We'll
- 41:39Speaker 1: see what Kirk Crausins have left. The Saints are two
- 41:42Speaker 1: and a half point favorites, and I get it, Shuck
- 41:46Speaker 1: Shuck has looked okay. You know, they had a pretty
- 41:49Speaker 1: I guess good win for them, you would say, against
- 41:52Speaker 1: the Panthers seventeen to seven.
- 41:53Speaker 2: A lot of people didn't think that was gonna happen.
- 41:55Speaker 2: They were off.
- 41:56Speaker 1: Last week in the bye So now they play the
- 41:59Speaker 1: Atlanta Falcons and there's a good chance that they can
- 42:02Speaker 1: win that game.
- 42:03Speaker 2: Maybe maybe they can blow out the Falcons. Who knows.
- 42:05Speaker 2: We'll see.
- 42:06Speaker 1: And then of course I mentioned Rams Bucks. The Rams
- 42:09Speaker 1: are seven and a half point favorites. Should be, should be.
- 42:12Speaker 1: I'm gonna guess that this is gonna be a high
- 42:13Speaker 1: scoring game. And then the Monday night game, the Panthers
- 42:16Speaker 1: at Niners. With the Niners win that game and they
- 42:19Speaker 1: are seven point favorites. The Niners win that game and
- 42:22Speaker 1: they get to be eight and for four, and what
- 42:26Speaker 1: a great coaching job by Kyle Shanahan and Robert Sala.
- 42:29Speaker 1: You really got to give them a lot of credit
- 42:31Speaker 1: for being seven to four. I know the schedule is
- 42:33Speaker 1: not tremendously difficult, however, it's been tougher than Green Bays.
- 42:40Speaker 1: It's been tougher than the Bears by a lot. The
- 42:41Speaker 1: Bear's strength of wins is point two a five. The
- 42:45Speaker 1: Niners is point three nine to four. So the Niners
- 42:48Speaker 1: strength of wins would be right behind basically Seattle's so
- 42:54Speaker 1: to be eight and four or four, Yeah, with all
- 42:56Speaker 1: those injuries that they had, and then they would improve
- 42:58Speaker 1: to let's see, would that be they would prove the
- 43:03Speaker 1: eight and two in the conference. You got to give
- 43:06Speaker 1: them their the flowers and props for that. So if
- 43:09Speaker 1: they win that game, and it's a big game for
- 43:11Speaker 1: Carolina because then at six and five versus the seven
- 43:15Speaker 1: and four team, if they get to seven and five
- 43:18Speaker 1: and knock the Niners to seven and five, then all
- 43:20Speaker 1: of a sudden, you're tied with the Niners. For the
- 43:23Speaker 1: seventh seed, and you've got the tie breaker. So a
- 43:25Speaker 1: really really big game from Carolina that finally finally got
- 43:30Speaker 1: a big breakout game last week from from their quarterback
- 43:34Speaker 1: Bryce Young against the Falcons. We'll see if that was
- 43:37Speaker 1: just an outlier and if that can continue against the
- 43:39Speaker 1: forty nine ers or if that was just one week.
- 43:41Speaker 1: The one thing I can tell you about the Carolina
- 43:44Speaker 1: Panthers is that McMillan, the wide receiver, is the real deal, folks.
- 43:48Speaker 2: Tet McMillan is excellent.
- 43:51Speaker 1: Him and Mecca Agbuka have been fantastic rookies wide receivers,
- 43:56Speaker 1: just fantastic rookies altogether.
- 43:58Speaker 2: Certainly a name to watch down the road.
- 44:01Speaker 1: And we'll see if Bryce Young can again get better
- 44:03Speaker 1: or if the Panthers wind up finding a different quarterback
- 44:06Speaker 1: in the off seasons and when you can get the
- 44:07Speaker 1: ball to the receivers more, because Ted.
- 44:10Speaker 2: McMillan is the truth.
- 44:12Speaker 1: Hey, Philly fans, game day is stressful enough, parking traffic,

- 45:06Speaker 1: great prices, and an experience made for Philly fans twenty
- 45:10Speaker 1: one and up. All right, Dad, is a look at
- 45:12Speaker 1: the entire NFL picture, the NFL slate, and of course
- 45:15Speaker 1: this week's matchup. I have to do my three picks
- 45:19Speaker 1: and I did. I think I did better last week.
- 45:22Speaker 1: I told you I was really trying to trying to
- 45:25Speaker 1: lock myself in get a little bit better.
- 45:27Speaker 2: I've been doing a bad job.
- 45:30Speaker 1: Last week I lost my first one the Chargers two
- 45:34Speaker 1: and a half against the Jags. I'm so anti Jags
- 45:36Speaker 1: that I actually went against my gut about the Chargers
- 45:39Speaker 1: and picked them and I lost that game. But I
- 45:42Speaker 1: had the Cowboys three and a half over the Raiders,
- 45:44Speaker 1: so I won on that game too, So that made
- 45:49Speaker 1: me one in one.
- 45:49Speaker 2: At the time.
- 45:51Speaker 1: And yeah, because they were one by fifteen and I
- 45:54Speaker 1: had the Bears getting two and a half points at
- 45:58Speaker 1: the Vikings, I couldn't believe the Bears were getting points
- 46:01Speaker 1: at the Vikings. And of course the Bears won that
- 46:03Speaker 1: game outright, So I went to two and one for
- 46:07Speaker 1: the week, and that improved me to fourteen and nineteen
- 46:11Speaker 1: for the year.
- 46:12Speaker 2: I get. I continue to say this in my pick
- 46:14Speaker 2: them league.
- 46:14Speaker 1: I am number one. I've been had a great year,
- 46:17Speaker 1: but when I have to narrow down to just three,
- 46:20Speaker 1: it seems I really struggle. So let me give you
- 46:23Speaker 1: what I got this week. Let me tell you what
- 46:25Speaker 1: I think is going to happen.
- 46:26Speaker 2: Here. I'm actually doing I usually prepare.
- 46:30Speaker 1: I'm doing this one on the fly a little bit
- 46:32Speaker 1: because I just I remember saying to myself, I just
- 46:34Speaker 1: don't know. I wanted the final injury report to come out,
- 46:37Speaker 1: and I wanted to see if there were any lines
- 46:39Speaker 1: that I thought were really advantageous here and nothing, you know,
- 46:46Speaker 1: they're It's hard to say what really jumps out to me.
- 46:49Speaker 1: I kind of like the Bears again, but I've gone
- 46:52Speaker 1: with the Bears a lot lately. So what I'm gonna
- 46:53Speaker 1: do is, I, you know, the Bengals to me without Flack,
- 46:58Speaker 1: go back. I believe they're They're still out Troy Hendrickson
- 47:02Speaker 1: and they are still out. They're out Cameron Taylor, britt
- 47:04Speaker 1: one of the better corners. So I'm gonna I know
- 47:07Speaker 1: it's a big line for a road team, but I
- 47:10Speaker 1: am going to take the Patriots to cover the seven
- 47:13Speaker 1: and a half in Cincinnati. I am going to take
- 47:18Speaker 1: Detroit big line to cover the twelve and a half
- 47:23Speaker 1: against the Giants. I know Detroit's banged up, but again,
- 47:26Speaker 1: the Giants will be starting Winston, They're still without Pulse
- 47:29Speaker 1: and the deebo. I think Detroit coming inside is going
- 47:32Speaker 1: to make a huge difference being at home so much firepower.
- 47:36Speaker 1: So I like Detroit, even.
- 47:37Speaker 2: Though that line is big, and.
- 47:42Speaker 1: You know, Baltimore thirteen and a half that's too big.
- 47:45Speaker 1: Las Vegas get favor.
- 47:47Speaker 2: I don't know. I'm gonna stay away from that game.
- 47:52Speaker 1: At this point, I think you just gotta go with
- 47:54Speaker 1: some really good teams and.
- 47:56Speaker 2: Take your chance that they're gonna win by the spread.
- 48:00Speaker 2: So give me, huh, give me, man.
- 48:09Speaker 1: This is tough, guys, I'm trying to do this on
- 48:11Speaker 1: the fly, and there's a lot of these lines that
- 48:13Speaker 1: I don't really love. Give me New Orleans. Give me
- 48:17Speaker 1: New Orleans at home two and a half over the Falcons.
- 48:20Speaker 1: I mean, the Falcons have so many injuries that I
- 48:22Speaker 1: think it's gonna be really tough for them to move
- 48:24Speaker 1: the ball. So I will take the Saints giving two
- 48:27Speaker 1: and a half to the Falcons. The Saints is two
- 48:29Speaker 1: and a half point favorites. So those are my three picks.
- 48:32Speaker 1: As I say every week, enjoy your football watching. This
- 48:35Speaker 1: has been the Inside the Birds Week twelve preview
