Transcript
- 0:02Speaker 1: You're from Brandon, right, Chel to Jeremy.
- 0:10Speaker 2: This is twenty one year old Brandon Reisner standing alongside
- 0:14his two parents. For the last six hours, Brandon has
- 0:19been on the run from police after brutally killing his
- 0:23best friend.
- 0:24Speaker 3: You help the pants head back toward calling away.
- 0:30Speaker 2: And as Brandon's parents learn their son is an alleged killer,
- 0:34all they can do is pray as they patiently wait
- 0:38for their son's fate.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Right, Joel, Jeremy, I have to say it out here?
- 0:45Speaker 4: Would you like to talk and private?
- 1:09Speaker 2: On a cold November morning in twenty twenty two, a
- 1:12ditched Toyo de Prias would be discovered by officers in Rome, Georgia.
- 1:17Speaker 5: There's nothing, That's what I was looking for. There's nothing.
- 1:22Speaker 2: Why this car was ditched in the middle of a
- 1:24creek is something police were yet to figure out.
- 1:28Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't think you didn't he No, Okay, so
- 1:33his names Aaron Davis, supposed to be coming Rome seeks
- 1:37of friends and going to Alabama Sea and drug. I
- 1:40don't think you may there. No, I wonder where that
- 1:44Why is car down there?
- 1:45Speaker 1: Crazy thing is there's nothing, I mean, there's no acceleration.
- 1:49Speaker 5: It's almost like it just broke off in here or something.
- 1:52Speaker 6: Yeah, did it go all the way up in park
- 1:55or something?
- 1:56Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean it's day's lights. I don't like it's
- 1:59but it ain't running running. I rolled over here to
- 2:02see what was going on.
- 2:03Speaker 7: Hey, you down a train out the trash.
- 2:05Speaker 2: A tow truck would eventually come and lift the vehicle
- 2:08out from the creek, and upon searching the license plate number,
- 2:12they would discover it belonged to twenty one year old
- 2:16Aaron Davis. Luckily, the town of Rome, Georgia, is relatively
- 2:21small and officers were already familiar with the name, so
- 2:25Lieutenant Sailors would give Erin's father a call a few
- 2:28minutes later.
- 2:32Speaker 5: Okay, can you see he maybe you can get a
- 2:34hotel in checking William two words, Carl's supposed to be
- 2:40pets down the car abandon there he Yeah, it's actually
- 2:44off for a little bitch. We're in the process of
- 2:46getting it out. I don't think there's anybody in it
- 2:48right now.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Erin's car being ditched is just as much of a
- 2:52mystery to his father as it is for the police. However,
- 2:56he did have some useful details he was able to
- 2:58give the lieutenant following this call. The night prior to
- 3:03this footage, Aaron went to visit his longtime friend Brandon Reisner.
- 3:08The two had been friends since middle school and their
- 3:11friendship continued all the way through college. Aaron had just
- 3:14recently graduated from Brigham Young University, so his over sixty
- 3:19mile travel to visit Brandon was meant to celebrate the
- 3:22new start to adulthood. But ever since Aaron had left
- 3:27for Brandon's house, nobody had heard from him, and his
- 3:31phone would go straight to voicemail. All of these strange
- 3:38mysteries would lead Aaron's father to file a missing person's report,
- 3:42and an investigation to find Aaron would officially begin. First,
- 3:48and most obviously, police would give Brandon Reisner a call,
- 3:52as he was supposedly the last person to have been
- 3:54in contact with erin.
- 3:56Speaker 5: Hey, I'm ltena Sayler was wrong. Place you do right today?
- 3:59Speaker 8: Yes?
- 3:59Speaker 5: I am.
- 4:00Speaker 4: I'm looking for my friend right now.
- 4:01Speaker 5: Yeah, that's what I was coming about. I don't know
- 4:04you hadn't heard from him.
- 4:05Speaker 3: I have not.
- 4:05Speaker 4: I've tried calling him and it's just concentrated the voicemail.
- 4:08Speaker 7: And I heard he was at Heritage Park, So that's
- 4:11where I'm at right now, so I'm gonna I'm looking around.
- 4:14Do you guys know where the car was?
- 4:16Speaker 5: Yeah, it was in a ditch over there. What's the
- 4:19last time you saw Aaron? I saw him last night
- 4:23about what time.
- 4:25Speaker 7: Well, we started drinking around like twelve, and he started
- 4:30throwing up pretty bad.
- 4:32Speaker 5: He told me to leave him alone.
- 4:33Speaker 7: I guess I woke up around and that's when I saw.
- 4:38Speaker 4: That his car's gone.
- 4:39Speaker 5: All right, Well, if y'all hear from him, let us know, Okay, Yeah,
- 4:42thank you.
- 4:45Speaker 2: Brandon's story made complete sense, and he even claims to
- 4:49be actively looking for Aaron at the time of the
- 4:51phone call, as any good friend would do. It seemed
- 4:54like Brandon was clearly the person they needed to speak
- 4:57to further in order to get to the bottom of
- 4:59Aaron's disappearance, so a few hours later, they showed up
- 5:03unannounced at Brandon's house to get more answers about what
- 5:07happened the night before, this time face to face.
- 5:13Speaker 6: Hey, it was going on. I'm after going with the
- 5:15right place from and we're following up on all this.
- 5:17Can you walk me through what's going on? Just make
- 5:19sure we're all the same bag. We started drinking around
- 5:23twelve yesterday. Yeah, it's you and Aaron, right, Yeah, anyone
- 5:27else for you guys?
- 5:31Speaker 4: And I had bought some red wine.
- 5:33Speaker 9: Yeah okay, here started drinking red wine.
- 5:40Speaker 4: It doesn't drink too often. So yeah, he had gone
- 5:42upstairs and was just peeping.
- 5:44Speaker 7: Everywhere into the toilet's like standing up a.
- 5:49Speaker 3: H.
- 5:50Speaker 10: And I went downstairs. He doesn't need any help. I
- 5:56went downstairs, dropped a bottle my m H. And I
- 6:02went to the urgent care this morning, took a shower
- 6:05once a bit, okay, and then we'll go one to
- 6:08two am.
- 6:10Speaker 4: And this car's gone.
- 6:11Speaker 2: Despite Brandon's strange demeanor, Aaron's actions last night connect with
- 6:16the ditched car and lack of response for the last
- 6:18twelve hours. If Erin was a light drinker and got
- 6:21heavily intoxicated, who knows what he could have done, well,
- 6:24completely by himself.
- 6:26Speaker 11: So how long have you and Aaron been in friends?
- 6:28We bet when I was okay, he became more like
- 6:34close friends. I'd say, like freshmen.
- 6:38Speaker 6: We're still trying to find him. I don't know, you know,
- 6:40he may just be staying at a hotel, sleeping off.
- 6:43Whatever appened last night, it doesn't miss, sure that mean
- 6:45he's in danger or anything like that. You have any
- 6:47problem with those?
- 6:48Speaker 5: Checkond and so.
- 6:49Speaker 6: No problem, No ferocious iguanas or anything. You never know, man,
- 6:55people have all kinds of pads.
- 6:57Speaker 2: The officer would search the house and find some interesting discoveries.
- 7:02Several doors would be locked, specifically the door leading to
- 7:05Aaron's room, where he supposedly threw up several times. This
- 7:10was strange, so Brandon would be called inside to help
- 7:14get them up to Aaron's room.
- 7:16Speaker 6: Come on, coming in here with me so you can
- 7:17just show me where I'm going a lot. Yeah, this
- 7:20makes a little bit easier. The bathroom is up there
- 7:22that he was up checking in.
- 7:24Speaker 5: I got you. We'll follow out. Lord.
- 7:29Speaker 6: Is that what's in the laundry right now? I guess okay.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Officers would notice a strong chemical smell coming from the
- 7:38room and find excessive amounts of cleaning supplies, but all
- 7:42of that would mean nothing compared to what they found next.
- 7:52Speaker 6: There's a significant amount of blood next to the bed,
- 7:55too decent, more than just vomit all way over here.
- 8:03Looks like I've been there a while, but he could
- 8:05have been thrown out.
- 8:06Speaker 5: Blood.
- 8:06Speaker 6: I guess it's weird to be throwing out blood like that,
- 8:10not to mention if he had alcohol poisoning, you would
- 8:12have been able to get up and move around this morning,
- 8:16especially at two or three in the morning.
- 8:18Speaker 4: Hord Powder right thereto.
- 8:22Speaker 2: The cops are starting to find the whole scenario awfully suspicious.
- 8:28The odd story from Brandon, the puddles of blood in
- 8:32Aaron's room, the hundreds of dollars worth of cleaning supplies.
- 8:36It seems as though Brandon, since the officer's suspicion arising,
- 8:40as well as when Aaron's room was being searched, he
- 8:43decided to do this.
- 8:53Speaker 5: Oh get out.
- 9:08Speaker 3: Now, he's up the pants, head back forwards, Callingwood somewhere
- 9:28between laport and I mean these houses.
- 9:30Speaker 6: No go up to the house, get in the backyard.
- 9:33Speaker 12: Possible ten forty three suspect, run back for night, Give
- 9:44me more units.
- 9:48Speaker 2: Unfortunately, officers lost sight of Brandon. He officially managed to
- 9:52escape the police, at least for now. Desperate for any
- 9:57leads that might aid in finding Brandon, Lee began going
- 10:01door to door around the neighborhood, questioning witnesses who might
- 10:04have caught a glimpse of where he had fled. During
- 10:06this effort, one officer encountered a neighbor who happened to
- 10:09be on a call with Brandon's father, Jeremy. Quickly, the
- 10:13officer took the phone to speak with him directly.
- 10:16Speaker 5: Thanks, sir, I'm the ken of Silent Rome's lease.
- 10:18Speaker 4: Ahright am I Jeremy Reisner, the homeowner?
- 10:21Speaker 5: Yeah, Brandon's father. Yeah, we're probably gonna need to talk
- 10:24to Brandon. Do you know where he is?
- 10:26Speaker 3: Oh?
- 10:26Speaker 8: I thought he was still at home now and earlier
- 10:29we had told him maybe a drive around the areas
- 10:31where they normally hang out and try to look for
- 10:33him for Aaron, We'll keep trying to get hold of them.
- 10:37We're still about an hour away, working our way there.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Even Jeremy was clueless regarding Brandon's whereabouts, and seemingly so
- 10:45was everyone else, as an entire hour would go by
- 10:48with Brandon nowhere to be found.
- 10:59Speaker 3: Thanks, that's.
- 11:02Speaker 4: So I realized you might not be answer this question.
- 11:04Answer their suspicion that Brandon was involved in or something.
- 11:11Speaker 5: They're suspicion of.
- 11:12Speaker 4: Something happening beyond get Well, we don't know that your
- 11:18life friends. We called back.
- 11:21Speaker 13: After the boy's mom called us, we called back when
- 11:25did the last see I guess.
- 11:26Speaker 4: He left during the night. That's all we did. He
- 11:29went to look for him where the car was reported. Yes,
- 11:33powers of you have our number?
- 11:35Speaker 5: Yes? Yes, yeah.
- 11:37Speaker 2: Well, trying his best to assist the police with the investigation,
- 11:41Jeremy would return to his house, where he discovered Brandon's phone.
- 11:45Up until that point, Jeremy had been doing everything he
- 11:49could to help the police track down his son. However,
- 11:52after finding the phone, his cooperation came to a sudden stop.
- 11:57He refused to hand the phone over, leaving police to
- 12:00had he seen something on it or was he hiding
- 12:03something far more unsettling. But before we get to that,
- 12:07Jeremy is not alone in facing a tragedy. Unfortunately, it
- 12:11can happen to any of us. Take event Torrens. She
- 12:14was walking home from work in Philadelphia when a truck
- 12:17struck her without warning. Morgan and Morgan fought for her
- 12:20in court and won her nearly twelve million dollars. If
- 12:23you're seriously hurt, your injury could be worth millions. With
- 12:26over one thousand attorneys, Morgan and Morgan will fight to
- 12:29give you the best results if you become their client,
- 12:32and unless you win. They do it all for free.
- 12:35In just the past few months, Morgan and Morgan has
- 12:38helped hundreds of people. One car crash victim in Florida
- 12:41won a verdict worth twelve million dollars and another in
- 12:44Philadelphia twenty six million dollars. That was forty times more
- 12:49than their insurance offered. So if you ever got seriously injured,
- 12:52your case could be worth millions and it takes only
- 12:55a few minutes to see if you have a case.
- 12:57You can start your claim with Morgan and Morgan by
- 13:00visiting www dot forthpeople dot com slash insanity found in
- 13:05the description, or by scanning the QR code on the
- 13:08screen from your phone's camera. With that said, let's get
- 13:11back to Jeremy, who would go on to discover Brandon's
- 13:14phone while searching around the house. This was a huge
- 13:17discovery for the investigation as it could help trace where
- 13:20Brandon could have gone off too. But unfortunately, Jeremy was
- 13:24unwilling to give up the phone to cops until he
- 13:27could better understand the situation. After all, Brandon is his
- 13:31son and he is innocent until proven guilty, so giving
- 13:34up the phone could be a tragic mistake. Again, hours
- 13:39go by with no further leads or clues as to
- 13:42where Brandon went. What Jeremy managed to find on Brandon's
- 13:46phone during this period will forever remain a mystery. However,
- 13:51when police spoke to him again, his demeanor would shift dramatically.
- 13:56Speaker 4: What's status?
- 13:58Speaker 14: So for fortyfouns found a cell phone that trying?
- 14:01Speaker 8: You want to turn that over to us?
- 14:03Speaker 14: Maybe?
- 14:03Speaker 4: Okay, I do My God says yes. But at the
- 14:06same time, yeah, I mean, we don't know.
- 14:07Speaker 14: We'll probably need to go through it and see at
- 14:10least maybe where he's the end today, there is a
- 14:12significant amount of blood in that upstairs bedrain on the coffee.
- 14:17But I wanted to be straight up with you knocking
- 14:20on Fine.
- 14:21Speaker 4: I appreciate that. Do you have a warrant that would
- 14:25include the phone?
- 14:26Speaker 14: No, we'd have to get one of something. We couldn't
- 14:29go into it without that. Some tacks back and forth,
- 14:34maybe something help. And you know, I know I'm see him,
- 14:36you know, but I can't. I can't promise you that
- 14:39I know I was in there. So I want you
- 14:42as I know as a father, I understand that.
- 14:46Speaker 4: All right, Well, yeah, I'm gonna keep walking.
- 14:49Speaker 2: Something had changed Whatever was on that phone had to
- 14:54be disturbing, and the officer seemed to have caught onto
- 14:58this as well.
- 15:00Speaker 6: Because he doesn't know what's going on. But he seemed
- 15:03a little shocked that we're at his house.
- 15:04Speaker 8: You know.
- 15:05Speaker 6: He seemed respectful in the sense that he was okay
- 15:07with us being at his house and do what we
- 15:09needed to do. I can't really get a feel for him.
- 15:12He may just be covering for his kid. He's gotta
- 15:14be in having the phone not being shattered. Tells me
- 15:18that his son hated it to him, so he got
- 15:20the phone. Tells us study found the phone but doesn't
- 15:23want to give it to a subouser.
- 15:25Speaker 4: Tice messages out there.
- 15:27Speaker 6: Probably he was selling rated there were him asking where
- 15:32if anyone had seen air.
- 15:34Speaker 4: I wondered that's text.
- 15:35Speaker 11: For sent since we've been to Garvell.
- 15:37Speaker 2: These officers were spot on with their theory. On the phone,
- 15:41Brandon would leave an array of horrifying notes, such as
- 15:46his screen became a gargle as he swallowed his tongue.
- 15:50I like dark places where my mind melts. It feels
- 15:53so good and I feel so cool. My brain's a
- 15:57waterfall running out of my nose, Like drool. I can
- 16:00turn myself on in the blink of an eye. They
- 16:02notified me as the smartest man alive. Additionally, he would
- 16:07leave it to do list following the murder of Arin.
- 16:10One schedule last three songs. This was in reference to
- 16:13his YouTube channel, where he would post his music. Two vacuum,
- 16:18three laundry, four, shower in my shower, five, take bath tomorrow.
- 16:25One text Rachel that Arin threw up horribly. I think
- 16:29there was some blood in it. Two I woke up
- 16:32and he was gone. Whether or not these exact messages
- 16:36were what alarmed Jeremy is unknown, but something on that
- 16:41phone made it clear to him that Brandon had killed Arin,
- 16:46and just an hour later, Jeremy would call police, detailing
- 16:51that he was with Brandon and that he was willing
- 16:54to surrender and turn himself in. So twenty five minutes later,
- 16:59Brandon and his parents would arrive at the station.
- 17:02Speaker 1: You're we're Brandon, Rachel, Thank you.
- 17:07Speaker 3: Yes, m.
- 17:30Speaker 1: Rachel, jeremyn have set out here. I'm gonna take thee
- 17:34back there and yeah, we'll talk. Man, would you like
- 17:37to talk in private?
- 17:40Speaker 4: You mean, since it's gonna be out the okay, I'll
- 17:45be right back out with you.
- 17:46Speaker 1: Okay, m anything in your pockets that I need to
- 17:58know about? H waling keys was real quick? Anything else?
- 18:03H sorry about that?
- 18:06Speaker 5: Go ahead.
- 18:06Speaker 2: See Now that Brandon was secured, the detective would sit
- 18:15him down to try and get a basic confession or
- 18:17any information that might ease the path to conviction.
- 18:21Speaker 1: All right, I gotta say, I'm detecting your work here
- 18:25throng pet of course, detective or yeah that's me. So
- 18:30before we get started, guts some play for work you
- 18:33gotta fill out.
- 18:34Speaker 2: The detective would start the interview by getting Brandon's basic
- 18:37information and contact addresses.
- 18:39Speaker 1: So I'm gonna read you some stuff before we get started. Okay,
- 18:42you have the right to remain silent. Have the rats
- 18:44talked to a lawyer for advice before you are asked questions,
- 18:46and have him with you during questioning.
- 18:49Speaker 4: I would lucky you would lack a lawyer. All right,
- 18:53sit tip just a minute.
- 18:56Speaker 2: Brandon was smart. He knows nothing, he says. The interrogation
- 19:01room will go on to help him in court, so
- 19:04he decides to keep his mouth shut. Well, this is
- 19:08unfortunate for the detective. Brandon's parents are more than willing
- 19:11to have a discussion with him, so instead he turns
- 19:15his attention over to them to try and get the
- 19:17information that he's looking for.
- 19:34Speaker 4: But thank you.
- 19:41Speaker 3: As well. Going on now.
- 19:45Speaker 14: Something that we can thank you, Bob.
- 19:51Speaker 4: You sorry to shure you. I can try to show you.
- 19:55Speaker 14: You can kind of show us a general area.
- 20:00Speaker 4: Cemeterium turned left trend something like.
- 20:07Speaker 2: Sure, this statement from Jeremy was crucial information to track
- 20:12down Aaron's body. But as valuable as this information is,
- 20:17the detective recognized the importance of capitalizing on the opportunity
- 20:21to gather as much from Jeremy as possible, while he
- 20:24remained cooperative. With this in mind, he shifted his focus
- 20:28to delving deeper into Brandon's personal life before turning to
- 20:32search for the body.
- 20:35Speaker 4: For knowledge.
- 20:36Speaker 13: Because you have an anxiety attacks seven thoughts? Who was
- 20:42having visions?
- 20:44Speaker 9: Make me say, I guess my occasions right, I'm going
- 20:47to call Brandon this morning.
- 20:50Speaker 4: Checks for.
- 20:55Speaker 11: So they are great.
- 20:57Speaker 4: He didn't want now.
- 20:59Speaker 9: Sure that's all we heard. Hour goes by ors, mom
- 21:05calls us all right, brand so you know, and virtual
- 21:16parent and runaway that's probably as.
- 21:24Speaker 13: Yes, trusts a kid pass a kid and with that
- 21:34comes with ce people say that I'm sorr. They don't understand,
- 21:39and so I love with that.
- 21:41Speaker 2: This raises the possibility that his actions may have been
- 21:45influenced by mental instability. However, it's important to consider the context.
- 21:51Jeremy's statements could be an attempt to have Brandon plead
- 21:54insanity in court. Therefore, it's essential to approach these claims
- 21:59with a grain of as they may not fully reflect
- 22:02the reality of the situation. Regardless, police now had an
- 22:06approximate location of where Aaron's body should be, so all
- 22:10hands went on deck to search the cemetery Jeremy had described.
- 22:15Aaron was found buried in the cemetery behind a secluded
- 22:20area in the back of the property. Even worse was
- 22:24that his body was wrapped inside the very sheets he
- 22:28slept on in Brandon's house. The speculation had come to
- 22:32an end. Brandon Reisner was a cold blooded murderer. Right
- 22:38after this discovery, Brandon was placed under arrest for the
- 22:42murder of Aaron Davis and transported to the local prison,
- 22:46but the cops found his behavior very unconventional.
- 23:05Speaker 4: Let them follow their restructed.
- 23:10Speaker 5: This is pretty god.
- 23:12Speaker 4: If you want well, no, we're talking to you.
- 23:17Speaker 5: You got your idea.
- 23:20Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 23:22Speaker 2: Officers stated that Brandon remained eerily calm while being transported
- 23:27and seemed completely unfazed by the entire situation. And while
- 23:31Brandon had been successfully captured and the case had seemingly
- 23:35came to a successful conclusion, officers had one tragic duty
- 23:40to complete. Before the end of the day break the
- 23:43news to Errand's parents that their son had been murdered.
- 23:49Speaker 3: Many flesh here, I don't know a whole lot.
- 24:01Speaker 4: Restless O, why do that.
- 24:21Speaker 10: We need?
- 24:21Speaker 3: My son?
- 24:28Speaker 2: Aaron was a recent college graduate and a good kid
- 24:31with a bright future ahead of him. His sudden death
- 24:34is nothing short of an evil, horrifying act on Brandon's behalf,
- 24:39and justice had to be served for Aaron's and his
- 24:43family's sake,
