- 0:34SPEAKER_00: I'm Rami Yousuf.
- 0:35SPEAKER_03: Oh, it's Elmo's Elma.
- 0:36SPEAKER_03: Mr.
- 0:37SPEAKER_03: Rami, what does salam alaykum mean?
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: Well, salam means peace, and it's a way to say hello in Arabic.
- 0:42SPEAKER_03: Oh, cool! Oh, salam alaikum, everybody!
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: Elma and I are here to wish all of you a happy Arab American Heritage Month.
- 0:49SPEAKER_03: Yeah, happy Arab American Heritage Month.
- 0:52SPEAKER_00: I'm so proud of my Arab heritage, and I'm so happy to share this month with my fellow Arabs and Elma.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: So thanks, Habibi.
- 0:59unknown: Oh, wait a minute.
- 1:00unknown: What's Habibi?
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: Oh, it's an Arabic word for a special friend.
- 1:05SPEAKER_03: Really?
- 1:05SPEAKER_03: Uh well, happy Arab American Heritage Month, Habibi.
- 1:10SPEAKER_03: We love you.
- 1:14SPEAKER_03: Isn't that true?
- 1:15SPEAKER_04: Can I tell you that I the entire time I'm like this?
- 1:18SPEAKER_04: Like I'm four.
- 1:20SPEAKER_04: I had so many of my friends message me that clip with the day that it came out.
- 1:24SPEAKER_04: I think it's the cutest thing ever.
- 1:28SPEAKER_04: One, because obviously it's Sesame Street.
- 1:30SPEAKER_04: So, like, who doesn't love Sesame Street?
- 1:33SPEAKER_05: I know.
- 1:33SPEAKER_04: But we we found a few people who, you know, are that right now.
- 1:36SPEAKER_05: The dude MAGA, MAGA had an epic meltdown.
- 1:39SPEAKER_05: I know they lost their their minds.
- 1:42SPEAKER_05: Like this I don't know why.
- 1:45SPEAKER_04: They're just fucking haters.
- 1:47SPEAKER_04: I know why.
- 1:48SPEAKER_04: But I just thought that that was like honestly, whoever, you know, decided that they were gonna do this, I think it's the most genius thing ever.
- 1:55SPEAKER_04: You know, I'm I mean, who's not?
- 1:57SPEAKER_04: I'm all for like you know, inclusivity, and I'm I just think it was the sweetest way to celebrate for for Sesame Street to shout out like Arab American Heritage Month.
- 2:06SPEAKER_04: No, and I'm so glad for sure.
- 2:07SPEAKER_04: And I'm so glad that it was Rami Youssef because like who doesn't love?
- 2:10SPEAKER_04: I mean, I know a lot of I love Rami Youssef.
- 2:11SPEAKER_04: I think he's awesome.
- 2:13SPEAKER_05: He's he he's okay, he's not my favorite.
- 2:17SPEAKER_05: I mean, haram, I like him.
- 2:18SPEAKER_04: We love Rami Yousuf.
- 2:22SPEAKER_05: I like I like him.
- 2:23SPEAKER_05: I don't know about love.
- 2:24SPEAKER_04: No, I think I th I thought that that was one, I thought he was perfect for this.
- 2:28SPEAKER_04: Two, I thought that whole clip is great.
- 2:30SPEAKER_04: He he's I thought the whole clip was perfect, and you know what?
- 2:34SPEAKER_04: What I think is crazy.
- 2:36SPEAKER_04: It's not crazy, it's expected.
- 2:38SPEAKER_04: I just think like what else are these crazy people gonna like vilify?
- 2:43SPEAKER_04: Like, what else?
- 2:44SPEAKER_04: It's freaking Elma.
- 2:45SPEAKER_05: I mean, I have I have a couple of tweets.
- 2:47SPEAKER_05: Do you wanna?
- 2:47SPEAKER_05: I don't know if you saw them because Henan is not like chronically online as much as I am, and it is part of my job.
- 2:54SPEAKER_04: I'm not chronically on like X like you are.
- 2:57SPEAKER_05: I don't I hate X.
- 2:59SPEAKER_05: It's Twitter F him, I'll never call it X.
- 3:01SPEAKER_05: Anyway, look at this asshole.
- 3:02SPEAKER_04: Like, that's crazy.
- 3:03SPEAKER_04: That's crazy.
- 3:04SPEAKER_05: So this guy says, disgusting.
- 3:06SPEAKER_05: Sesame Street is part of the Islamification of your kids.
- 3:09SPEAKER_05: Okay, all of this just for just because Elmo said salamu alaikum and habibi.
- 3:16SPEAKER_05: Yeah, okay.
- 3:17SPEAKER_05: Now check out the next one.
- 3:20SPEAKER_05: All right, this is from Libera Crat.
- 3:23SPEAKER_05: Okay, it says Sesame Street is beyond super ultra mega woke.
- 3:28SPEAKER_04: Woke.
- 3:29SPEAKER_05: Yeah, Elmo's now teaching American children what habibi means.
- 3:33SPEAKER_05: Salamu alaikum on the set where literally I'm sorry, like I'm getting old, like I'm reading this, but like I have to like Salamu alaikum on the set where we literally used to learn our ABCs.
- 3:46SPEAKER_05: They're pushing this on our kids while erasing America's history.
- 3:50SPEAKER_05: Holy crap, man.
- 3:51SPEAKER_05: Like all of this for a for for for a 40-second video.
- 3:58SPEAKER_04: What is honestly, honestly, again, I'm not surprised.
- 4:02SPEAKER_04: It's I'm not surprised, I'm not disappointed.
- 4:04SPEAKER_04: I just think it's I think it's so dumb.
- 4:05SPEAKER_04: I think it's so dumb.
- 4:06SPEAKER_04: I think part of what makes this country super awesome is the fact that we're all so different.
- 4:12SPEAKER_04: Everybody, right?
- 4:13SPEAKER_04: I do love that, and I do love that they chose habibi as one of the words.
- 4:17SPEAKER_04: I think it's awesome.
- 4:18SPEAKER_04: Like salam, salam alaikum, salam, I get it, amazing, right?
- 4:22SPEAKER_04: I love the way that it was translated, actually.
- 4:24SPEAKER_04: Both of them, I think it's I think it's great, but I love that habibi was one of the words because that is like kind of like the universal Arabic word for all of us.
- 4:30SPEAKER_05: Like it doesn't matter what your background is, we all say habibi, right?
- 4:33SPEAKER_05: Yeah, and Elmo's so cute.
- 4:34SPEAKER_05: I love Elmo.
- 4:35SPEAKER_05: But I have a couple of funny tweets that are really that I really liked.
- 4:41SPEAKER_05: Um, and this one is it says, This is Danny, and he uh he says, as an Arab American, this is endearing AF.
- 4:50SPEAKER_05: Okay, which is as fuck, which is true.
- 4:52SPEAKER_05: I mean, I saw this video and absolutely loved it.
- 4:54SPEAKER_05: It was so cute.
- 4:55SPEAKER_05: And I and Elmo is probably my favorite.
- 4:57SPEAKER_05: Every time I watch this, I'm always like this.
- 5:02SPEAKER_05: And then this is my go ahead, sorry.
- 5:05SPEAKER_04: No, no, no.
- 5:05SPEAKER_04: I was just saying, I just think it's like for every for every single one of us, right?
- 5:10SPEAKER_04: Whether you are um an immigrant yourself, you're first gen, a child of immigrant, you know, all of that stuff.
- 5:16SPEAKER_04: This just makes you feel seen.
- 5:19SPEAKER_04: It really does.
- 5:20SPEAKER_05: Yeah, look at this.
- 5:21SPEAKER_05: This is the this is my favorite.
- 5:24SPEAKER_05: This is uh Zara.
- 5:25SPEAKER_05: She says, fun fact, Almo is actually short for Al Mohammed.
- 5:29SPEAKER_05: I saw that.
- 5:31SPEAKER_04: I saw that.
- 5:32SPEAKER_04: I saw it's not for all the crazy people out there, it's not actually short for that.
- 5:35SPEAKER_05: But you know, I'm just saying, but I want to just say one thing because I don't want people to to misconstrue what I said.
- 5:41SPEAKER_05: Like, I like Rami.
- 5:43SPEAKER_05: I I like the actual person, Rami.
- 5:46SPEAKER_05: I don't like the characters, I don't like his character in Rami.
- 5:49SPEAKER_05: No, no, no, because I don't want people coming after me.
- 5:51SPEAKER_05: Because I actually I like his comedy, I just don't like some of the characters he plays.
- 5:55SPEAKER_05: There's a couple of things.
- 5:55SPEAKER_04: I honestly think I honestly think it was it doesn't matter.
- 6:00SPEAKER_04: I think uh Rami was the perfect person to do that clip.
- 6:03SPEAKER_04: I think the whole thing was amazing.
- 6:06SPEAKER_04: I the whole thing, again, I think what it doesn't matter.
- 6:10SPEAKER_04: Like I I personally I love Rami.
- 6:12SPEAKER_04: I forget, put that on the side, right?
- 6:14SPEAKER_04: At this point, I'm glad they chose who they chose.
- 6:18SPEAKER_04: I'm glad that they did this clip because for if I am a 45-year-old adult, right?
- 6:23SPEAKER_04: And this made me grin ear to ear and made me feel like seen, can you imagine what it does for a small child who, you know, is a child of immigrants, is an immigrant themselves.
- 6:32SPEAKER_04: Like, I just think it's the cutest thing.
- 6:34SPEAKER_04: And I think more of that.
- 6:35SPEAKER_04: And I hope we do that for every single, you know, cultural and heritage month that we have throughout the year so that every child can feel the same excitement that you know any kid felt when they saw this clip when it came out this week.
- 6:50SPEAKER_04: So that made me very happy.
- 6:51SPEAKER_05: Like, I didn't yeah, no, I didn't even share like the worst of the tweets because like some of them were just hating on the fact that why Arab Americans even have a month.
- 7:02SPEAKER_04: Like it's just so it's so we have a month because we are contributing members of this society, because a lot of us made this society what it is today, you know.
- 7:12SPEAKER_04: So it's we deserve a month.
- 7:14SPEAKER_04: It's okay.
- 7:14SPEAKER_04: There's nothing wrong with celebrating where you come from and your language and your heritage, right?
- 7:21SPEAKER_04: It I don't understand why people no, people just see it as an attack on their like Americann-ness, whatever that means, right?
- 7:30SPEAKER_04: It's not an attack on anything.
- 7:31SPEAKER_04: Being an American is being appreciative of all of these different people and all of these different cultures that make up the fabric of society.
- 7:39SPEAKER_04: But again, this is MAGA we're talking about.
- 7:42SPEAKER_04: Like, I'm not even Yeah, no, I get it.
- 7:45SPEAKER_04: And then the You know, I have one word for all of this.
- 7:48SPEAKER_05: Yes, absolutely.
- 7:49SPEAKER_05: I agree with you.
- 7:51SPEAKER_05: And then the next story, I mean, it happened like maybe 10 days ago or a week ago.
- 7:55SPEAKER_04: Oh, Coachella.
- 7:56SPEAKER_04: This happened at Coachella, yeah.
- 7:58SPEAKER_04: For all my Coachella, for all my Coachella fans out there, I know we were gonna we're gonna take it like that.
- 8:03SPEAKER_04: Was like super big on social media this past week.
- 8:06SPEAKER_04: There was a lot of really great moments.
- 8:08SPEAKER_04: There was a lot of really interesting, good music moments.
- 8:11SPEAKER_04: Like Coachella is like one of the biggest music of festivals that happens every single day.
- 8:14SPEAKER_04: And definitely some controversy.
- 8:16SPEAKER_04: There's a lot of controversy, right?
- 8:18SPEAKER_04: But I do think, yeah, I do think this, again, you know, since we're talking about Arab American Heritage Month, I think everybody play it.
- 8:26SPEAKER_04: Let me play it.
- 8:26SPEAKER_04: Yeah, hold on.
- 8:27SPEAKER_04: Go ahead.
- 8:27SPEAKER_04: I think I heard someone yodel.
- 8:32SPEAKER_06: Is that what you're doing?
- 8:37SPEAKER_06: I don't like it.
- 8:40unknown: It's my culture.
- 8:42SPEAKER_06: That's your culture, is yodeling?
- 8:45unknown: It's a call, it's a call of celebration.
- 8:48SPEAKER_06: Is this burning, man?
- 8:50SPEAKER_06: What's going on?
- 8:51SPEAKER_06: This is weird.
- 8:53SPEAKER_04: Thoughts, Hanan?
- 8:56SPEAKER_04: You know, honestly, I am so here's the thing.
- 8:59SPEAKER_04: A lot of people are like, oh my god, maybe she just got surprised.
- 9:02SPEAKER_04: You don't have to be rude.
- 9:04SPEAKER_04: Okay, so you were surprised.
- 9:06SPEAKER_04: Let's just pretend you were surprised.
- 9:07SPEAKER_04: You know, and first of all, first of all, if I someone who would want to at some point attend Burning Man, I'm offended.
- 9:15SPEAKER_04: What does that even mean?
- 9:16SPEAKER_04: What is it?
- 9:17SPEAKER_05: Like, like I didn't even understand that.
- 9:18SPEAKER_05: Like, like, like, do people who attend Burning Man, like, like, does she look down on them?
- 9:22SPEAKER_05: Like, I don't I didn't understand.
- 9:24SPEAKER_04: Definitely.
- 9:24SPEAKER_04: I it was a joke.
- 9:25SPEAKER_04: Like, they're nowhere near, I guess, as classy as like Coachella attendees.
- 9:29SPEAKER_04: She's not a lot of things.
- 9:29SPEAKER_04: That's what I think.
- 9:30SPEAKER_04: So here's the thing.
- 9:31SPEAKER_04: I think that she was trying to be funny, but it was really, really, really offensive, especially when the girl in the crowd said it's a call, it's a call for celebration.
- 9:42SPEAKER_04: At that point, you should have never made that comment.
- 9:46SPEAKER_04: And I know she apologized later.
- 9:48SPEAKER_04: I think you kind of did your damage like in that moment, especially if that's somebody in the crowd.
- 9:53SPEAKER_04: I don't think she really appreciated the fact that the Zagruta, right, was like the that girl was pretty much celebrating her.
- 10:02SPEAKER_04: That was for her.
- 10:03SPEAKER_04: She's excited that this, you know, person that she but she told her this is part of this is part of my culture.
- 10:08SPEAKER_04: Like it's a good cult.
- 10:10SPEAKER_04: I think, but I think even saying that, like, fine, but I think the issue was her, like, she should have stopped when the girl said it's a call, it's a call for celebration, right?
- 10:20SPEAKER_04: At that point, you should have probably realized, oh, shit.
- 10:24SPEAKER_04: You know, this is supposed to be a good thing.
- 10:26SPEAKER_05: But even when she told her this is part of my culture, that's when she should have kind of like it should have clicked in her head, you know.
- 10:32SPEAKER_04: Do you think, do you think that I'm just look, I was trying to give, I was, you know, when you when you watch something and I'm trying to be like as objective as possible.
- 10:40SPEAKER_04: I'm like, okay, so she doesn't understand the fact when she when you say, okay, I was like, let me let me try to give her a pass because she said, Oh, it's my culture, right?
- 10:47SPEAKER_04: Fine.
- 10:48SPEAKER_04: But honestly, she said after that it's a call, it's a call for celebration.
- 10:53SPEAKER_04: That should have immediately, like, if I was on the if I was a Hmara, I had no idea what that is, I would have been like, oh, shoot, this is a good thing.
- 11:02SPEAKER_04: Let me like back it up, right?
- 11:03SPEAKER_04: Let me not, let me not say that.
- 11:05SPEAKER_04: But I think the fact that she was like, What is this?
- 11:08SPEAKER_05: Burning man.
- 11:09SPEAKER_05: Do you think people overdid it, like with the with the controversy, or like people are like, I think people were warned said, like Arabs and North Africa.
- 11:16SPEAKER_04: I think it's so here's the thing.
- 11:17SPEAKER_04: I think you have every right to be offended or not offended by something.
- 11:21SPEAKER_04: It is your personal like I can't tell people, oh, don't be offended, she didn't mean it.
- 11:25SPEAKER_04: I wasn't there.
- 11:26SPEAKER_04: I think it's I would like all of us at some point have been guilty of doing something similar to this.
- 11:33SPEAKER_04: Unfortunately for her, it was a very public forum, right?
- 11:36SPEAKER_04: Again, that doesn't mean I'm excusing it.
- 11:38SPEAKER_04: I'm just saying, like, you know, maybe you should have just critical thinking.
- 11:43SPEAKER_04: Again, all of us at some point in our lives have been guilty of saying something that offended someone else, right?
- 11:49SPEAKER_04: Again, unfortunately, you carry that that weight becomes so much bigger when you're a public figure.
- 11:55SPEAKER_04: And it's why am I counting like this?
- 11:57SPEAKER_04: Who counts like this when you're a public psychopath?
- 12:00SPEAKER_04: I know psychopaths when you're when you're a public figure and when you are in such a large public forum or public setting, right?
- 12:08SPEAKER_05: Like, but I think, but I think it's warranted.
- 12:11SPEAKER_05: I think all the criticism and the controversy that she received is totally warranted.
- 12:15SPEAKER_04: Now, before we start honestly, I think if you're if you're here's the thing, right?
- 12:19SPEAKER_04: Like, think about it like this.
- 12:21SPEAKER_04: Um, the minute that you become famous, right, for whatever it is that you're doing, whether you're singer, songwriter, performer, anything, right?
- 12:31SPEAKER_04: You're gonna draw in criticism.
- 12:33SPEAKER_04: Whether you know you're gonna draw in the good, the bad, and the ugly, right?
- 12:36SPEAKER_04: So if you make a mistake like this and it's super public, unfortunately, and there's no other way around it except for the fact that people are gonna criticize you.
- 12:46SPEAKER_04: Now, the one positive thing about people being upset or not upset is that this thing passes like like super fast.
- 12:54SPEAKER_04: Next week, people will be talking about something else, right?
- 12:56SPEAKER_04: Well, Livy, Liv, I go ahead.
- 12:58SPEAKER_04: I do think, I do think she will, she has probably lost some fans in her fan base.
- 13:03SPEAKER_04: She definitely has a lot of people.
- 13:04SPEAKER_04: After that, after that comment, right, that she made.
- 13:08SPEAKER_04: I do think, however, that like by next week, like no one's gonna care.
- 13:11SPEAKER_04: Honestly, I do think it was dumb.
- 13:13SPEAKER_04: I don't think she should have said that, but I don't think anyone's gonna care by next week.
- 13:16SPEAKER_05: Um, but you know what the good thing about this is is the fact that a lot of people people know what a Zabaruta is now.
- 13:23SPEAKER_05: Exactly, exactly.
- 13:24SPEAKER_05: But I'm gonna share a poll that we did on Instagram and then you can come back with your thoughts.
- 13:27SPEAKER_05: I feel like you have a thought.
- 13:28SPEAKER_05: I feel like you have what you want to say.
- 13:30SPEAKER_05: I do.
- 13:32SPEAKER_05: All right, so I I posted this.
- 13:34SPEAKER_05: Are we canceling Sir Sabrina Carpenter?
- 13:36SPEAKER_05: And then we had 34% of people say yes, she's dead to me.
- 13:41SPEAKER_05: Uh 26% said no, she apologized, halas.
- 13:45SPEAKER_05: And then 41% said I don't care.
- 13:48SPEAKER_05: That is, yeah.
- 13:49SPEAKER_05: I don't know.
- 13:50SPEAKER_05: My my son was part of the people that said I don't care.
- 13:54SPEAKER_05: Um, and then my daughter was like, Yes, she's dead to me.
- 13:57SPEAKER_05: I mean, Raya, Raya was like, I don't listen to her shit music anyway.
- 14:01SPEAKER_05: That's what I'm quoting.
- 14:02SPEAKER_05: Okay, that's not my opinion.
- 14:04SPEAKER_05: I mean, I honestly don't know any of her science.
- 14:07SPEAKER_05: Maybe I if I if I hear it somewhere, maybe I'll write about it.
- 14:10SPEAKER_05: I don't know her stuff.
- 14:11SPEAKER_05: Like, I don't follow her, I don't listen to her stuff.
- 14:14SPEAKER_05: She she doesn't really like I just don't.
- 14:16SPEAKER_04: She's definitely she's definitely very popular and a lot of people really like her, right?
- 14:20SPEAKER_04: And her her music is supposed to be about like, you know, female empowerment and all of that.
- 14:27SPEAKER_04: So I just thought it.
- 14:28SPEAKER_04: Yes, but I just and in kind of like a cheeky way, right?
- 14:32SPEAKER_04: Like that's how I would that's how I would put it.
- 14:34SPEAKER_04: I do think it was the the one positive thing for me out of all of this, and it's fine.
- 14:38SPEAKER_04: Like, I'm sure she put out a statement, I'm sure she's sorry.
- 14:41SPEAKER_04: She doesn't strike me as being like a bad human being.
- 14:44SPEAKER_04: She probably was just like dumb in the moment.
- 14:46SPEAKER_04: We all have dumb moments, right?
- 14:47SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 14:48SPEAKER_04: The one positive and put that on the side, whatever.
- 14:50SPEAKER_04: Like I said, she apologized.
- 14:51SPEAKER_04: She's better than a lot of other people.
- 14:53SPEAKER_04: A lot of other people would have been like, nope, I'm not apologizing for anything, right?
- 14:57SPEAKER_04: Anyways, I think the best part of this was that people learned what a Zahruta is.
- 15:01SPEAKER_04: And the videos that came out, you know, from it.
- 15:04SPEAKER_04: I had a friend who sent me a video on Instagram, um, and it was from an Australian woman, like a like a like a white Australian woman, and she was talking about how, you know, her memory of a you know, a Zahruta and the area and you know, the city in Australia where she grew up was predominantly Lebanese immigrants.
- 15:22SPEAKER_04: So every time she would hear that, she said we'd run out into the street in the neighborhood because she's like we always knew that the bride was coming.
- 15:31SPEAKER_04: Like we had to catch the bride coming out of the house.
- 15:34SPEAKER_04: So I thought it was really great.
- 15:35SPEAKER_04: And then in reading the comments, like her video, her video went viral.
- 15:40SPEAKER_04: In reading the comments, the comments were just amazing because then everybody in the comments was sharing their experience, you know, with a Zagrutha or with Zaharit, which is the uh, which is like multiple uh Zahrutas are, you know, Zaharit.
- 15:53SPEAKER_05: Isn't it it's called ulilation, I think?
- 15:55SPEAKER_04: Yes, ulilation in English, yeah.
- 15:57SPEAKER_04: And it's it's really interesting because one person had said um that the first time they were deployed, they were gone for two years and couldn't see their family.
- 16:06SPEAKER_04: And by the time they were coming back home, they um like I I guess the the parents were ill, couldn't receive them at the airport, and they said that this and their entire like um Lebanese immigrant community, right, met him in the airport and there was all these Zagreed to greet him, and that was like the best, like in his neighborhood.
- 16:27SPEAKER_04: That was like the best thing that it was his first experience with Zahreit, which I thought was really cute.
- 16:31SPEAKER_04: So you see all these stories about people's first experience with a Zahruta, and I just thought that was like the best, that was the highlight for me of that whole thing.
- 16:40SPEAKER_04: I'm sorry.
- 16:41SPEAKER_05: Some positive stuff that came out of it, that's for sure.
- 16:43SPEAKER_04: Absolutely.
- 16:44SPEAKER_04: I'm sorry for the the like the girl who, you know, did the Zagruta because she was probably just living her best life, having a great time, right?
- 16:51SPEAKER_04: Um, I'm so glad that she said it's my culture, it's a call for celebration.
- 16:56SPEAKER_04: Because like you get a girl, like celebrate the way that you like, right?
- 17:00SPEAKER_04: I do think it's really awesome that it's now opened the door for other people to realize like what this thing actually is.
- 17:08SPEAKER_04: And you know, now everybody knows what a Zagruta is.
- 17:10SPEAKER_04: Now maybe we can get Elmo to Zagret, and that would be amazing.
- 17:14SPEAKER_05: I think if you get Elmo to Zagret to do a Zagruta, I think um a lot of people in MAGA will will just like their their their heads will explode.
- 17:24SPEAKER_05: They probably won't.
- 17:25SPEAKER_04: Probably just yeah, I just I don't know.
- 17:27SPEAKER_04: I think it's I think it's awesome.
- 17:29SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 17:29SPEAKER_04: I really, really I thought it was cute.
- 17:32SPEAKER_04: I thought it was okay.
- 17:33SPEAKER_05: Are you ready?
- 17:34SPEAKER_05: Are you ready for the um next story?
- 17:37SPEAKER_04: I'm ready for I'm always ready.
- 17:38SPEAKER_04: What's the next story?
- 17:39SPEAKER_04: Tell me.
- 17:40SPEAKER_05: So there is this um Chaldean American.
- 17:44SPEAKER_04: Oh my god.
- 17:45SPEAKER_05: Chaldean Assyrian comedian.
- 17:47SPEAKER_05: His name is uh Paul Ilya.
- 17:50SPEAKER_05: Okay, and he did a stand-up special, okay.
- 17:53SPEAKER_05: Um, and he planned it originally for uh uh for YouTube.
- 17:57SPEAKER_05: Okay, but here I'm gonna play a clip that he did with um I think Basim Yusuf.
- 18:04SPEAKER_05: Hold on one second, and then he'll explain what happened exactly.
- 18:07SPEAKER_01: Why Paul went through like a crazy situation with his special.
- 18:11SPEAKER_01: My special's out right now.
- 18:12SPEAKER_01: You can watch on YouTube, and uh I put my own money into it.
- 18:16SPEAKER_01: And it's so hard to get things seen organically, so you gotta put ads behind it, right?
- 18:20SPEAKER_01: Every ad got rejected.
- 18:22SPEAKER_01: And the reason why they got rejected is because in the special I do a joke where I mentioned Donald Trump.
- 18:28SPEAKER_02: He actually sent me what YouTube sent him, and they told him that you cannot really impersonate Donald Trump or mention him in that ad because that would be considered political advertisement.
- 18:38SPEAKER_01: They said you have two options.
- 18:40SPEAKER_01: Option one is you have to re-upload the special and bleep out Donald Trump's name.
- 18:47SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, why are they treating Donald Trump's name like the N-word?
- 18:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 18:51SPEAKER_01: I'm like, Trump, please.
- 18:53SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 18:56SPEAKER_01: And the other thing I have to do is I have to apply for election advertising certification.
- 19:02SPEAKER_01: Right?
- 19:02SPEAKER_01: Now, look, I don't want to have any beef with Donald Trump.
- 19:04SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't want him to kidnap the president of my house.
- 19:08SPEAKER_01: You know, and my wife is Venezuelan too.
- 19:11SPEAKER_01: So he's like, we've done this before.
- 19:12SPEAKER_01: I know exactly.
- 19:14SPEAKER_01: Basically, it's really sucks for like independent creators because it's like I I basically have to rely on organic reach to get people to watch this.
- 19:21SPEAKER_01: I put on Facebook immediately, so it's on Facebook.
- 19:24SPEAKER_01: It's on Facebook, anybody over the age of 50 can watch it.
- 19:28SPEAKER_05: It's crazy.
- 19:29SPEAKER_05: I don't know if you guys anyway.
- 19:31SPEAKER_05: Um so basically they took down, they didn't they didn't allow her to to promote it or to put ads behind it because he mentioned Trump.
- 19:41SPEAKER_04: Well, I mean, this kind of you know shows you the uh ownership of the media landscape now, doesn't it?
- 19:47SPEAKER_05: Mm-hmm.
- 19:48SPEAKER_04: Like both mainstream and digital media.
- 19:51SPEAKER_05: I know.
- 19:52SPEAKER_05: And they told him, like, you know, you you heard him say, like, if if he bleeps it out, then they can do it.
- 19:57SPEAKER_05: But um, I I just think that's wild.
- 19:59SPEAKER_05: And it's not political.
- 20:00SPEAKER_05: Like, I I saw the thing yesterday, like I watched it on Watermelon Plus.
- 20:03SPEAKER_05: So Watermelon Plus has his entire um his special, they have it on for free.
- 20:09SPEAKER_05: Anyone, even if you're not a subscriber, even if you don't, you know, you can just watch it for free.
- 20:13SPEAKER_05: But I saw yesterday, there's nothing like crazy.
- 20:17SPEAKER_04: Like his jokes are so like they're they're an oddie, they're very idea again.
- 20:23SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I don't, I don't even think this is about him specifically, as much as it is, it goes to show you like the ownership of the media landscape and like what and when I say media, I mean like I said, mainstream media, digital media, and what we're actually up against, right?
- 20:37SPEAKER_04: Just not not you and I, but like us as as as mankind, right?
- 20:42SPEAKER_04: Citizens of this great nation, what we're up against.
- 20:45SPEAKER_05: It's like I'm gonna blame I'm gonna blame, I'm gonna blame our low numbers on the media landscape in this country, okay.
- 20:55SPEAKER_04: That's one way to put it, except it's not.
- 20:58SPEAKER_04: But uh, yeah, it's not.
- 21:00SPEAKER_04: But I I do think it's it's kind of a it's like it's I have one word for it, like autof, haggate the it if haggate the it if it's disgusting, actually.
- 21:09SPEAKER_04: It's really disgusting.
- 21:10SPEAKER_05: It's a whole new world out there, dude.
- 21:12SPEAKER_04: It is a whole new world out there, and it's and it's hilarious that you like this is so timely.
- 21:16SPEAKER_04: We were so last night, um, I went to see uh Mo Ahmed at the DC Improv, right?
- 21:22SPEAKER_05: Oh, I wanted to ask you, how did it go?
- 21:24SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it and it's it went great, and it's amazing that you and I were talking about this today because like I had no idea about this Paul Ilya story until Lena brought it to my attention.
- 21:32SPEAKER_04: She's like, Oh my god, did you see this?
- 21:33SPEAKER_04: I was like, No, I have no idea.
- 21:34SPEAKER_04: And it's interesting because we were to actually like Mo had a whole set, like not set, but part of his monologue.
- 21:40SPEAKER_04: And I wouldn't want to say stand up because really some of it is just the monologue, like he's just having a conversation with the audience.
- 21:46SPEAKER_04: And I love the DC Imperov because it's such an intimate little setting.
- 21:49SPEAKER_04: It's a basement of a building, so it's like such a you know, yeah, yeah, little space.
- 21:53SPEAKER_04: And yeah, and you can like you can pretty much see the whole space when you're at on the stage.
- 21:58SPEAKER_04: Um, and he was just Talking yesterday about how he felt like kind of similarly, right?
- 22:03SPEAKER_04: Like because he spoke his truth, because he did it things exactly the way he wanted to on season two of Mo, that like that's it.
- 22:11SPEAKER_04: It's gonna be like like people essentially in Hollywood, like we're not ready, and just in the media, we're not ready for what he did.
- 22:18SPEAKER_04: They're not ready to face that type of truth.
- 22:20SPEAKER_04: They're not ready to know that, like, you know, Palestinians exist as people.
- 22:25SPEAKER_04: It's not even just Palestinians exist as people, it's because like they're but it's more than just, but what he said yesterday was very it was it was awesome because it was more than just that.
- 22:33SPEAKER_04: He's like, it's you know, Palestinians, it's the immigrant experience, it's just so many things that he discussed.
- 22:39SPEAKER_04: But I will say, like, one thing that I loved in his monologue yesterday was actually the reactions, the audience reaction.
- 22:47SPEAKER_04: Because we had one one guy that was sitting um behind us, and he was just like, you know, do you as long as you're happy, like and you believe in what you're doing, just do you.
- 22:56SPEAKER_04: And he's like, people will always support you.
- 22:58SPEAKER_04: And I was like, what a wonderful like dad comment to make.
- 23:01SPEAKER_04: Like, yeah, no, definitely supportive.
- 23:04SPEAKER_04: Like, yeah, but it was it was a really good, it was a really good show.
- 23:07SPEAKER_04: But it kind of just goes in line with what you just shared about Paul Iliot.
- 23:11SPEAKER_04: Like, you can't be you like even making a joke now is like you I mean, and this whole thing about political content, you and I know that that's crap.
- 23:21SPEAKER_04: It's not political censorship.
- 23:23SPEAKER_05: But that's that's just the um it's their way to censor it.
- 23:27SPEAKER_05: It's their way to censor it.
- 23:27SPEAKER_05: That's the fine print that they're using.
- 23:29SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah.
- 23:30SPEAKER_05: To it's their way to censor him.
- 23:31SPEAKER_05: To do that, you know, to get away with doing bullshit like this, you know.
- 23:35SPEAKER_05: Um, and then speaking of censoring, uh my former colleague uh Ahmad Chihabid Dean, and I think a lot of people follow him.
- 23:44SPEAKER_04: Oh, yeah.
- 23:45SPEAKER_05: Uh he's been arrested in Kuwait.
- 23:49SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 23:50SPEAKER_05: He's been in in uh prison or jail, they've been detained him for March.
- 23:56SPEAKER_05: Yeah, March 2nd or March 3rd.
- 23:58SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 23:58SPEAKER_05: And no one like I I think his family and friends knew, but they were trying, like, I guess they were working behind the scenes to um help get him out to release him, and they were getting nowhere.
- 24:11SPEAKER_05: And apparently he hasn't even been able to see a lawyer.
- 24:14SPEAKER_05: Like they haven't even been able to get a lawyer.
- 24:16SPEAKER_05: I didn't know that.
- 24:18SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 24:18SPEAKER_05: And so that's why they went public.
- 24:20SPEAKER_05: Like, so we found this out a few days ago.
- 24:23SPEAKER_05: Um, and you know, he has a huge following on social media.
- 24:26SPEAKER_05: Like, he's he's been very vocal since day one.
- 24:29SPEAKER_05: Like, and and the reason they detained him, the Kuwaiti authorities, is because he shared uh a video of a US fighter jet um crashing, crashing in Kuwait.
- 24:43SPEAKER_05: Okay.
- 24:43SPEAKER_05: And what's crazy about that is like this the these videos, it's there and and and images that he shared, they're in the public domain.
- 24:51SPEAKER_05: So like I'm saying, I thought they uh was it like it wasn't like from his phone or something.
- 24:56SPEAKER_05: No, no, no.
- 24:57SPEAKER_05: He just he just shared what's out there already.
- 25:00SPEAKER_04: Not that not that that still would warrant for him to go to jail.
- 25:02SPEAKER_05: I just I'm asking it.
- 25:04SPEAKER_05: Of course not.
- 25:04SPEAKER_05: No, no, I get what you're saying.
- 25:06SPEAKER_05: I get what you're saying, but like it's crazy.
- 25:09SPEAKER_05: Like, like I I I don't understand, like it's I we live in a we live in a crazy, crazy time.
- 25:14SPEAKER_05: It is sure.
- 25:15SPEAKER_04: It really is.
- 25:15SPEAKER_04: And for anybody who doesn't know, um, who doesn't know Ahmed, Ahmed had like a really strong presence on Instagram.
- 25:23SPEAKER_04: He was super he's he's always been uh uh super vocal about you know Palestinians' right to resistance and existence.
- 25:31SPEAKER_04: And ever since October 7th, he's been even more vocal.
- 25:34SPEAKER_04: Not that he was, you know, but no, it's just it just the larger reach and and you know more pushing information.
- 25:42SPEAKER_05: And I am just this for me, it's you were shocked, you sent it to me because I had posted something about him and you were like really upset and shocked about it.
- 25:52SPEAKER_04: You know, it's baffling to me that this is like that you're gonna, I mean, look, don't get me wrong.
- 26:02SPEAKER_04: People in the Gulf countries, I guess, go to prison for all kinds of reasons or get detained for all kinds of reasons.
- 26:08SPEAKER_04: What's really blowing my mind is the fact that like you were just said, like he has he hasn't had a any, like he hasn't seen a lawyer.
- 26:16SPEAKER_04: I'm baffled by the fact that they detained him for something that's publicly available that you could really pull up from anywhere.
- 26:22SPEAKER_04: Because at first I thought was like, oh, like he had exclusive footage or something.
- 26:25SPEAKER_04: It's not even that.
- 26:27SPEAKER_04: So it's it's wild.
- 26:29SPEAKER_04: It's wild.
- 26:29SPEAKER_04: It is.
- 26:30SPEAKER_04: We live in we live in really, really wild times where it's really scary how few people know the truth and want to share it, and how many people know that they're splitting lies, they're okay with spreading lines, and they want the lies.
- 26:49SPEAKER_04: I'm sorry, they want the rest of us to believe it.
- 26:51SPEAKER_04: And if you continue to try to spread the truth, then all of a sudden you're not a good person anymore.
- 26:55SPEAKER_04: Like we have to take you out.
- 26:56SPEAKER_05: Yeah, and it's also about control.
- 26:58SPEAKER_05: That's 100%.
- 27:00SPEAKER_05: It's all about control.
- 27:01SPEAKER_05: But I just want to say, inshallah, like hopefully, hopefully he gets out soon.
- 27:05SPEAKER_05: But I am gonna include in the YouTube description um a link to the um the committee to protect journalists has a petition.
- 27:14SPEAKER_05: You can sign it.
- 27:15SPEAKER_05: Um, I'm gonna post that in our YouTube description.
- 27:18SPEAKER_05: I mean, like, I don't know if these people care about a petition, but like we gotta do our part, right?
- 27:23SPEAKER_05: We we gotta try.
- 27:24SPEAKER_05: I know Hanan, you don't think that those things work, but that's not true.
- 27:29SPEAKER_04: It's not that.
- 27:29SPEAKER_04: I just I don't know.
- 27:30SPEAKER_04: It just I am I guess it's not about those things working or not.
- 27:34SPEAKER_04: I'm just very, very I'm like when I learned about this, I was shocked, you guys.
- 27:38SPEAKER_04: I'm not even gonna, I'm not even kidding.
- 27:40SPEAKER_04: I was when I saw this and I sent like and I messaged Lena, I was like, what the heck?
- 27:44SPEAKER_04: And then she was like, Yeah, no, it just it just became public.
- 27:48SPEAKER_04: And I'm like, March 3rd, that's like that's like it was still Ramadan.
- 27:53SPEAKER_04: Like it that's how long that this has been.
- 27:56SPEAKER_04: And the fact that like, and it's crazy because you know, it's when I sent this to Lena, I was like, I haven't seen anything from Ahmed on Instagram in a while.
- 28:03SPEAKER_04: Like, what happened?
- 28:04SPEAKER_04: And when I went to look, like, his accounts are not there anymore.
- 28:08SPEAKER_04: Like, nothing, nothing.
- 28:09SPEAKER_04: It's like they erase this person, except when you search for him, he comes up because he was he's done other interviews and things like this, but his actual profile is like not there anymore.
- 28:18SPEAKER_04: So I was very just taken aback and very disappointed that I'm just like, I don't know, man.
- 28:24SPEAKER_04: I I think I'm also really disappointed because I was like, not the Kuities.
- 28:29SPEAKER_04: You guys expected more, right?
- 28:32SPEAKER_04: I really expected more.
- 28:33SPEAKER_04: I really did.
- 28:34SPEAKER_04: I really expected.
- 28:35SPEAKER_05: I think at the end of the day, I think at the end of the day, we have to be, we have to remember that that governments aren't the people and people aren't the governments, and that can go anywhere.
- 28:44SPEAKER_05: Oh, it's not just absolutely like you know what I mean.
- 28:46SPEAKER_05: It whether it's here or overseas or any country in any way in any any continent, really.
- 28:53SPEAKER_04: I just I just thought it was like I don't know.
- 28:56SPEAKER_04: I know, I know.
- 28:57SPEAKER_05: You and I spoke about that.
- 28:58SPEAKER_05: It's like, oh, really?
- 28:59SPEAKER_04: You guys especially because, like, you know, I uh I don't know, across all of the different countries in the GCC, like every look, or just in the Gulf countries in general, people have lots of freedoms and lots of limitations.
- 29:14SPEAKER_04: I don't even want to talk about it, but just Kuwait in general, they were really like ahead of the times on a lot of things.
- 29:19SPEAKER_04: Like they're one of the first one of the first Gulf countries, for example, to have like women participate in parliament, right?
- 29:25SPEAKER_04: Like it's just they're they're like a really inclusive society.
- 29:27SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 29:28SPEAKER_04: It's there is look, there is a wave of change happening across the whole world, and I don't like it.
- 29:34SPEAKER_04: I don't like it one bit.
- 29:36SPEAKER_04: When people are when people are mad at Elmo, that's a problem, right?
- 29:40SPEAKER_04: When when yeah, when people think that Zagruta and Yodling are the same, that's that's a problem.
- 29:47SPEAKER_04: Um, and then when you just put people in the show for sharing show out there, wallah for sharing the truth of what happened in the real world, like that's I don't know what's gonna be coming of this world.
- 29:58SPEAKER_04: But in short, in short, right?
- 30:01SPEAKER_05: Honest, like I mean, like I wanted to talk about him just to bring up attention and I'm gonna keep posting about him, inshallah, because like that's just effed up, dude.
- 30:10SPEAKER_04: I really hope I really do hope that there's like um somebody finds a resolution and he's like released because honestly, this is crazy.
- 30:15SPEAKER_04: It's crazy.
- 30:16SPEAKER_05: I think there's a lot of work on it, like there's a lot of um there's efforts obviously by friends and family, but also his colleagues too and former colleagues.
- 30:24SPEAKER_05: So um I mean, I would hope so.
- 30:26SPEAKER_05: I would really hope so.
- 30:27SPEAKER_05: I really we used to work in the same um company together, but we we were never really friends.
- 30:33SPEAKER_05: But like I'd see him in the hall and stuff.
- 30:35SPEAKER_05: We'd say hi and whatever, but like we were never really like close.
- 30:37SPEAKER_05: But it was just like, dude, come on.
- 30:39SPEAKER_05: Like, I I think like it doesn't matter if I know him or not, or if it's you know what I mean?
- 30:43SPEAKER_05: It's no no no no no like like journalism, journalism, especially now in this in this time, like during during this crazy time that we're in, it's so so crucial.
- 30:56SPEAKER_04: But honestly, even if that wasn't, even if his intent wasn't that this was journalism, if he was just a regular person posting this, that still doesn't work him being detained, right?
- 31:05SPEAKER_04: He's actually in a he's actually like we can say he can say alhamdulillah, he's in a privileged position that he has, you know, that he is a journalist and that he has this following, that he has peers and former colleagues and family and friends who are all willing to like step up and do this.
- 31:21SPEAKER_04: It's just you shouldn't be detained for like sharing things that are like publicly available.
- 31:25SPEAKER_04: That's just whether you're a journalist or not, right?
- 31:29SPEAKER_04: So, but it's my god, it's like every time we take one step forward, we take three steps back.
- 31:35SPEAKER_04: But yeah, I kind of like this episode.
- 31:37SPEAKER_04: This was like a hodgepodge of many things, but really the theme was you know, minus obviously the story on Ahmed, but yeah, you know, thank you guys for joining us for this like hodgepodge of stuff.
- 31:46SPEAKER_04: Lena and I remote today because we needed to make sure that we got the episode done this week.
- 31:50SPEAKER_05: So it was crazy, yeah, and instead of putting it off like this, sorry.
- 31:55SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's okay.
- 31:56SPEAKER_04: Instead of putting it off, we're like, let's just get her done because we do have lots of we always have lots of stuff to talk about.
- 32:01SPEAKER_04: But again, I just wanted to say happy Arab American Heritage Month to all of those who are of Arab American Heritage.
- 32:09SPEAKER_04: Um, you know, I'm I'm glad that we're in this together, you guys.
- 32:14SPEAKER_05: I really am I really am and then and let me know how you guys like this format today.
- 32:19SPEAKER_05: Like I did it in segments and I'm trying to, you know, make it more interesting for you guys.
- 32:23SPEAKER_05: So if you prefer this, I mean we got some good feedback about the last episode.
- 32:27SPEAKER_04: We did, we get some great feedback about the last episode.
- 32:30SPEAKER_05: So we'll try to mix it up for you guys.
- 32:31SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I I think the last I always love when we have guests on, especially when they're friends, because it's just like a fun hangout.
- 32:38SPEAKER_04: That's true.
- 32:39SPEAKER_04: No, she she was she was amazing, very elected.
- 32:42SPEAKER_04: We really did, yeah.
- 32:43SPEAKER_04: She really was, and it's um it's something that we I think in our community don't talk about enough.
- 32:50SPEAKER_04: So it's nice to have somebody talking about it.
- 32:52SPEAKER_04: But we really need to close up this episode, you and I.
- 32:55SPEAKER_04: Like we need to wrap this up.
- 32:56SPEAKER_04: No, I mean, like, we did a bad job.
- 32:59SPEAKER_04: We're just off doing our own thing.
- 33:00SPEAKER_05: Like they didn't before listen, listen, we did the main segment, and then this is just like the chit chat.
- 33:06SPEAKER_05: We did three main three or four, four main segments.
- 33:08SPEAKER_04: I like why we're just we're all just because I'm I feel like I'm sitting here like having a phone conversation or like a FaceTime conversation.
- 33:15SPEAKER_05: I mean, listen, my hair, with the exception of the roots, looks so good today.
- 33:19SPEAKER_05: MashaAllah Salah Muhammad.
- 33:21SPEAKER_05: Did you did you either?
- 33:27SPEAKER_05: I mean, look at it.
- 33:28SPEAKER_05: MashaAllah Mash.
- 33:30SPEAKER_04: I don't think I don't think anybody is gonna give you any hassan on your hair.
- 33:33SPEAKER_04: Don't worry.
- 33:34SPEAKER_05: What does that mean?
- 33:35SPEAKER_05: Like you don't like the way my hair looks?
- 33:36SPEAKER_05: No, I think it's like I shouldn't worry.
- 33:38SPEAKER_04: I don't think you should worry.
- 33:40SPEAKER_04: I think it's nice, but I don't think you should.
- 33:42SPEAKER_05: That's another way, that's another way for you to say your hair is not that great.
- 33:45SPEAKER_04: Your hair looks wonderful today.
- 33:47SPEAKER_04: Okay, it looks wonderful.
- 33:49SPEAKER_05: Look at all this gray.
- 33:50SPEAKER_05: One of these is gonna go all gray.
- 33:52SPEAKER_05: Mine too.
- 33:53SPEAKER_05: Mine too.
- 33:55SPEAKER_04: No, yours, mashallah.
- 33:57SPEAKER_04: You look good, doesn't it?
- 33:57SPEAKER_04: No, no, no.
- 33:58SPEAKER_04: Mine, mine is.
- 33:59SPEAKER_04: You can see it.
- 33:59SPEAKER_04: You can see.
- 34:00SPEAKER_04: I'm just not, it's just this light is really bright, but it's you can see it.
- 34:04SPEAKER_05: Did I already talk to you about this?
- 34:06SPEAKER_05: No, you didn't.
- 34:07SPEAKER_05: Talk to me.
- 34:07SPEAKER_05: I didn't.
- 34:08SPEAKER_04: Okay.
- 34:08SPEAKER_05: So no, you told me you wanted to change.
- 34:10SPEAKER_05: I'm like, we don't have time.
- 34:11SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 34:11SPEAKER_04: I was gonna tell you, I wanted to change it.
- 34:13SPEAKER_04: We don't have time.
- 34:13SPEAKER_04: And every time I so this shirt is distressed, it's supposed to look like this, right?
- 34:16SPEAKER_04: And every time I wear it, you know, sure enough, someone's like, oh, what's happening?
- 34:21SPEAKER_04: And I'm like, fine, it's ripped.
- 34:25SPEAKER_04: It's supposed to look like this, it's supposed to be distressed.
- 34:27SPEAKER_04: I have a question.
- 34:28SPEAKER_04: Why is it why is it that people have a problem when you wear clothes that have holes in them?
- 34:32SPEAKER_04: Here's here's a question Is it people or is it Arabs that ask you that question?
- 34:36SPEAKER_04: It's Arabs in light of Arab American Heritage Month, yeah.
- 34:40SPEAKER_05: Arabs, what do you have a whole lot of people?
- 34:42SPEAKER_05: What do you have a whole in your pants?
- 34:44SPEAKER_05: No, no, you can't wear something like that in front of an Arab mom or an Arab dad or whatever.
- 34:53SPEAKER_05: You just can't.
- 34:53SPEAKER_05: You're gonna, you're gonna, they're gonna, they're gonna say shit about you.
- 34:56SPEAKER_05: Yeah, Kalit Halaita.
- 34:58SPEAKER_04: That's my favorite.
- 34:59SPEAKER_04: What?
- 34:59SPEAKER_04: Kalit Halaita.
- 35:02unknown: Okay.
- 35:02SPEAKER_04: That means like, okay, so you know how like we you used to put like mothballs in the closet like back in the day, because you or like the cedar block, because it'd be like the little things that like eat your clothes.
- 35:11SPEAKER_04: I don't know what they're called in English moths, I guess.
- 35:13SPEAKER_04: Maybe do they even eat clothes?
- 35:15SPEAKER_04: I have no idea.
- 35:16SPEAKER_04: But they would put holes in the clothes like this.
- 35:19SPEAKER_04: So like every time somebody sees me, they're like, uh, I'm like, yes, that's exactly what happened to my shirt.
- 35:25SPEAKER_05: You know, if I were you, I wouldn't wear that just so people don't talk to me about it.
- 35:30SPEAKER_04: Oh, I just no, I like this shirt.
- 35:33SPEAKER_04: It's really comfortable and soft.
- 35:36SPEAKER_05: Is that how you bought it though?
- 35:38SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 35:40SPEAKER_04: See, you're judging me.
- 35:42SPEAKER_04: You're judging me.
- 35:43SPEAKER_04: I'm sorry.
- 35:45SPEAKER_05: I think it's really how much was it for?
- 35:47SPEAKER_05: How much do you remember how much it was for?
- 35:49SPEAKER_04: No, but I've had it for like I no lie.
- 35:52SPEAKER_04: I probably had this shirt for like 20 years.
- 35:56SPEAKER_04: And so, you know, every time you wash it, it just gets softer and softer and softer.
- 36:00SPEAKER_04: And is it the Who shirt?
- 36:03SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 36:04SPEAKER_05: I don't remember having that many holes in it.
- 36:09SPEAKER_05: This shirt, you remember the shirt?
- 36:11SPEAKER_05: The the shirt it did.
- 36:12SPEAKER_04: I don't remember this whole section being like it always had the it always had these holes in it.
- 36:17SPEAKER_04: I promise you.
- 36:19SPEAKER_04: The fact that you remembered the shirt means I've had it for a long time.
- 36:21SPEAKER_05: Okay, I'm gonna go back to our archives because I know you wore that.
- 36:25SPEAKER_05: There's no way in hell that side, that shoulder part, was that messed up.
- 36:30SPEAKER_04: Maybe not.
- 36:31SPEAKER_05: I think it got caught in the whatever, I'm still wearing it.
- 36:36SPEAKER_04: I don't care.
- 36:37SPEAKER_05: Okay, halas, wrap it up.
