- 0:19Speaker 1: rand I'm doing the opening time.
- 0:21Speaker 2: Whoa, yeah, that is intense.
- 0:23Speaker 1: Let me just one more time. Tell me if it
- 0:25Speaker 1: was good.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Hello, my randall, you're blasting.
- 0:29Speaker 1: For your headphone down. Keep this. Don't cut it. I
- 0:32Speaker 1: want everybody to hear how it really is. Okay, do
- 0:35Speaker 1: not cut in the stacy. We're odd. This is live,
- 0:38Speaker 1: but I want to do it one more time and
- 0:39Speaker 1: without you interrupting me. Okay, Hello, my loves, beautiful people,
- 0:44Speaker 1: this is give them Lalla with Brand.
- 0:47Speaker 2: That was pretty good.
- 0:49Speaker 1: Thank you.
- 0:49Speaker 2: I was going to say, hello, my little bambinos. I'm
- 0:55Speaker 2: feeling very in the spirit of just all things. Baby.
- 0:58Speaker 2: All I do all day long is look at Okay,
- 1:01Speaker 2: so I'm gonna be real, real, real right now. I
- 1:05Speaker 2: on my Instagram used to like when you go to
- 1:08Speaker 2: the explore page, it was like full of useless information
- 1:13Speaker 2: about like who's breaking up with who? Who just made
- 1:16Speaker 2: one hundred million dollars off of what? And I was like,
- 1:21Speaker 2: you know, I need to change the algorithm. Like I'm
- 1:23Speaker 2: feeling very motherly and all I want to see on
- 1:25Speaker 2: my Explore page are puppies and hedgehogs and babies. So,
- 1:32Speaker 2: you guys, for like four hours straight over my birthday weekend,
- 1:37Speaker 2: I literally just looked through images of baby hedgehogs, babies,
- 1:44Speaker 2: puppies and liked all these images. So now when you
- 1:47Speaker 2: go to my explore page on Instagram, that's all you see.
- 1:50Speaker 2: I have no idea what's happening on the planet except
- 1:52Speaker 2: for what these little puppies have done all day long.
- 1:56Speaker 2: It's the best. I feel great about it.
- 1:58Speaker 1: What's a hedgehog?
- 1:59Speaker 2: They're like almost looks like a baby porcupine.
- 2:02Speaker 1: So it's just one of your little cute pages. It's
- 2:04Speaker 1: so cute because you stalk dogs, Dailey, I know that
- 2:07Speaker 1: now it's.
- 2:08Speaker 2: And you know what, I'm totally I have come to
- 2:10Speaker 2: the realization that my baby will never be as cute
- 2:13Speaker 2: as a little baby puppy. It is what it is.
- 2:15Speaker 2: I don't think anybody.
- 2:16Speaker 1: My god, No, I don't think my god, oh my god,
- 2:19Speaker 1: oh my guess what.
- 2:21Speaker 2: I'm also going to tell you this, your baby will
- 2:24Speaker 2: never be as cute as a little baby puppy.
- 2:26Speaker 1: I'm going to disagree. I'm gonna I'm gonna disagree, laughing disagree. True,
- 2:31Speaker 1: this is bullshit.
- 2:32Speaker 2: Look up a little baby lab or golden retriever, and
- 2:36Speaker 2: you tell me you have seen a baby, but you.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Just tell me. Want you to look at me in
- 2:40Speaker 1: the face right now and just say that you've just
- 2:42Speaker 1: told the world aka your fans, yeah, that our baby
- 2:48Speaker 1: will never be.
- 2:48Speaker 2: As I'm also telling them about won't be as cute.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Oh my god, no baby ever will be as cute
- 2:56Speaker 2: as a little puppy.
- 2:58Speaker 1: I am pivoting right now to this conversation and I
- 3:02Speaker 1: am leaving it at this Our baby, but it will,
- 3:05Speaker 1: our baby will be cuter than any damn dog ever
- 3:09Speaker 1: on this.
- 3:10Speaker 2: Planet once I see it. Look, look at my mom,
- 3:13Speaker 2: Lisa Goes. Both of us are dog people. I thought
- 3:16Speaker 2: even Lisa Vanner Pump would be like, there's no baby.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Okay, moving on, I'm done with this conversation. What I
- 3:22Speaker 1: do want to talk about. What I do want to
- 3:25Speaker 1: talk about. Zala's very dramatic. There was a cord that
- 3:29Speaker 1: bothered her, so she flicked it away like she was
- 3:32Speaker 1: protecting us from the army.
- 3:34Speaker 2: Because since I got prego, I feel like my eyes
- 3:38Speaker 2: are sensitive. My hearing is that everything's just heightened, so
- 3:41Speaker 2: like little buzzing noises. I'm like, what is it? What
- 3:44Speaker 2: is that. Okay, I want the light is just too bright.
- 3:47Speaker 1: I want to talk about it from the other side
- 3:49Speaker 1: of the coin. Yeah, since you've been pregnant, you have
- 3:52Speaker 1: had that what they call that glow, that happiness you have.
- 3:55Speaker 1: I've seen that. The other side of that, the other
- 3:58Speaker 1: side of that gloat. Now, the other side of that
- 4:00Speaker 1: clowe is the hormones are an overdrive.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Oh my gosh.
- 4:06Speaker 1: I mean when I say overdrive, I'm being kind. Yeah,
- 4:08Speaker 1: why don't you share the level of hormones that you're
- 4:12Speaker 1: feeling as a expecting mother? Just how are you different
- 4:16Speaker 1: in these ten weeks do you feel you know, so
- 4:19Speaker 1: future mothers and other mothers that have been through this,
- 4:23Speaker 1: you know, how are you dealing with the hormones?
- 4:26Speaker 2: Well, I think that this is you asking that even
- 4:29Speaker 2: though it's like something that in this very moment, we
- 4:33Speaker 2: can be like, your hormones are crazy. I think it's
- 4:36Speaker 2: really important for us to talk about the fact that
- 4:38Speaker 2: that's why I brought it up. You're my hormones are
- 4:41Speaker 2: out of whack. And I would be lying if I
- 4:43Speaker 2: said I wake up and I think that life is
- 4:45Speaker 2: just awesome and I'm pregnant and I'm going to be
- 4:47Speaker 2: a mom right, I wake up and I'm like, I'm
- 4:51Speaker 2: really sad and I feel depressed, and I need to
- 4:53Speaker 2: talk to somebody. And then I'll go through the day
- 4:57Speaker 2: and I kind of start, you know, reminding myself or
- 4:59Speaker 2: trying to like, you're very lucky, you're very blessed. And
- 5:03Speaker 2: even though I know these things, hormones are a very
- 5:06Speaker 2: tricky thing.
- 5:07Speaker 1: And they're powerful, and then they yes, and I and
- 5:10Speaker 1: I want to add that just because you are healthy,
- 5:14Speaker 1: thank God, and you you know, have a roof over
- 5:16Speaker 1: your head and all those things, hormones are a real
- 5:20Speaker 1: thing and you aren't going through that. And it's and I,
- 5:23Speaker 1: being your partner, watched you more so than normal. Let's
- 5:28Speaker 1: call it really struggle a little bit with the ups
- 5:31Speaker 1: and downs, you know, high low, high low. And I
- 5:35Speaker 1: just want people to know, and I want you to know.
- 5:37Speaker 1: But I tell you this already, is that it's okay
- 5:39Speaker 1: and that we're in it together. You know, this is
- 5:42Speaker 1: just how it is. And at the end of the day,
- 5:44Speaker 1: it's I think it's okay to feel the way you're feeling.
- 5:47Speaker 2: Absolutely, And I just feel for any anybody who's going
- 5:52Speaker 2: through this pregnant. I know that a lot of women
- 5:55Speaker 2: suffer from postpartum. I'm in it, so this is like, Wow,
- 6:00Speaker 2: why am I feeling this way when like, I have
- 6:02Speaker 2: a life inside of me and this is so awesome,
- 6:05Speaker 2: Like why do I feel upset? I don't think, but
- 6:09Speaker 2: I feel for women who when when I hear about
- 6:12Speaker 2: these stories now going through it. It can become torturous
- 6:16Speaker 2: to be inside of your own mind in those moments
- 6:19Speaker 2: when your hormones just really are kicking your ass. So
- 6:24Speaker 2: I'm no doctor, but I want people to know if
- 6:28Speaker 2: you are going through something like this, to definitely reach
- 6:31Speaker 2: out to someone and talk to somebody. I find a
- 6:34Speaker 2: lot of comfort in talking to my mom. My doctor
- 6:39Speaker 2: also knows that I'm you know, up and down frequently.
- 6:44Speaker 2: I haven't come to the conclusion of I should be
- 6:47Speaker 2: back on It's pretty known that I take anxiety and
- 6:52Speaker 2: depression medication. I stopped taking it once I got pregnant
- 6:56Speaker 2: because I was so worried, and now that my hormones
- 6:59Speaker 2: are out of you know, it's funky. I don't. I
- 7:01Speaker 2: don't want to be on a prescription right now with
- 7:04Speaker 2: this new life inside of me. I just I'm like,
- 7:06Speaker 2: if I can talk through these and you're telling me
- 7:09Speaker 2: my hormones are just out of whack and I can
- 7:11Speaker 2: get through this. Let's stick to that script for now.
- 7:14Speaker 1: Well, And I think it's important also the fact you
- 7:17Speaker 1: can acknowledge just take away, you know, just just living
- 7:22Speaker 1: right now in the moment. And I've been with you
- 7:24Speaker 1: a long time. Now you are it's your I mean,
- 7:27Speaker 1: your hormones obviously are playing a huge trick on you.
- 7:30Speaker 1: They're sending you up, they're sending you down. Yeah, I
- 7:33Speaker 1: actually equate it, you know, watching you and somebody who
- 7:37Speaker 1: loves you so much doesn't want to see obviously you
- 7:40Speaker 1: you know, but it's like a washing machine. It's like
- 7:42Speaker 1: you're bouncing like you know, you'll get settled for a second,
- 7:45Speaker 1: we'll get quiet and then boom, you know, and it's
- 7:48Speaker 1: in its little things that are sending you, you know,
- 7:51Speaker 1: up and down. So at the end of the day,
- 7:52Speaker 1: I keep telling you when I when I call you,
- 7:54Speaker 1: I tell you it's okay, and we'll get through it.
- 7:57Speaker 1: You know, we're going to have some tough days, tougher days.
- 8:00Speaker 1: And at the end of the day, though, I always
- 8:02Speaker 1: try to remind you that you know, you're you're growing
- 8:06Speaker 1: a beautiful soul inside you and in six months, We're
- 8:10Speaker 1: gonna have a baby. So we just gotta you know,
- 8:13Speaker 1: we just gotta hang in there.
- 8:14Speaker 2: Which is so crazy because I think about it and
- 8:16Speaker 2: I'm like when I go to the doctor's office and
- 8:19Speaker 2: she has like just walls of newborn babies that she
- 8:23Speaker 2: has delivered, and I'm like, oh, this is just the
- 8:26Speaker 2: best place ever. But then I'll go home, take a
- 8:30Speaker 2: nap and wake up and I'm like, my freedom is
- 8:32Speaker 2: gonna be gone soon. It is such like a mind
- 8:38Speaker 2: f wait. So I'm gonna try to stop cursing as
- 8:41Speaker 2: much because I'm going to be a mom soon. Okay,
- 8:43Speaker 2: don't but don't don't count on it.
- 8:46Speaker 1: But let me tell you. But let me tell you something.
- 8:48Speaker 1: What First of all, I did tell you that when
- 8:50Speaker 1: that baby comes, the running out of the house quickly
- 8:53Speaker 1: and is that's that's over.
- 8:55Speaker 2: But I know, but I'm so addicted to things that
- 8:57Speaker 2: I love. Like I think about how I was with
- 8:59Speaker 2: my dog and it was like we were running together,
- 9:03Speaker 2: you know, we were like little soldiers. So that she's
- 9:06Speaker 2: gonna be me and my boo, my baby, I love it.
- 9:09Speaker 1: I don't think that's gonna be an issue. I mean,
- 9:11Speaker 1: I mean, you treat your dog like a child. So
- 9:14Speaker 1: this is just a step up. It talks back. That's
- 9:17Speaker 1: the only difference.
- 9:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm looking forward to.
- 9:19Speaker 1: That, like how I said it. Yeah, okay, so the
- 9:21Speaker 1: next step in our little baby because we're gonna, We're gonna.
- 9:24Speaker 1: I want to start a regular segment on it.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Wait, was that the first thing? Hold on now, because
- 9:30Speaker 2: you're I know you're going to bring up the gender reveal.
- 9:32Speaker 2: You posted the sonogram picture? Was that the first sonogram
- 9:36Speaker 2: picture you've posted? I think so, dude, he's felling so
- 9:40Speaker 2: much tea. I haven't posted, not.
- 9:42Speaker 1: One, but I only have twelve followers, so it's kind
- 9:46Speaker 1: of like.
- 9:47Speaker 2: It's kind of cute.
- 9:48Speaker 1: I like it, and you like and don't you like that?
- 9:50Speaker 1: I am so into it. I mean that's very cool.
- 9:52Speaker 2: Of course I love that part. Anyway, I didn't mean
- 9:54Speaker 2: to cut you off.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Oh you did, But but the thing is, I cut
- 9:56Speaker 1: you off for the last twenty episodes, so you you
- 9:58Speaker 1: have a lot of cutting off to do to me.
- 10:00Speaker 1: I just want to say that you you just went
- 10:03Speaker 1: to the doctor today. I was on FaceTime with you
- 10:06Speaker 1: today and you gave blood. So this today. I want
- 10:09Speaker 1: to do a baby update every episode, so that the
- 10:12Speaker 1: baby update, I will give it and then you will
- 10:14Speaker 1: confirm it.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Okay.
- 10:15Speaker 1: The baby update is because Lola won't tell you guys
- 10:18Speaker 1: that shit, so I'm just going to do it. The
- 10:19Speaker 1: baby update is she went to the doctor today, she
- 10:22Speaker 1: gave blood, and that is for us to know the
- 10:25Speaker 1: gender correct or and correct that is correct.
- 10:28Speaker 2: But more importantly, it's to see if there's down syndrome
- 10:32Speaker 2: and you know things that that's the most important.
- 10:35Speaker 1: Okay, so share that, share what that test was today.
- 10:37Speaker 2: So it's just a check to see that the baby
- 10:40Speaker 2: is healthy.
- 10:41Speaker 1: Okay.
- 10:42Speaker 2: You know there's obviously things you cannot test for when
- 10:44Speaker 2: it comes out, but a lot lucky enough that science
- 10:48Speaker 2: has allowed us to know if your child will have
- 10:51Speaker 2: downs or not.
- 10:51Speaker 1: So there's probably like there's a lot of things they
- 10:53Speaker 1: can take out of the equation.
- 10:55Speaker 3: Correct.
- 10:56Speaker 2: The gender is the fun aspect.
- 10:58Speaker 1: It was a serious tap, but the gender is the
- 11:01Speaker 1: fun part of it.
- 11:02Speaker 2: Yeah, the gender is the most fun. The other stuff
- 11:05Speaker 2: is kind of you're a little bit nervous until you.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Now, I'm not tell our fans something.
- 11:10Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:10Speaker 1: So the next episode, which will be the baby update episode,
- 11:14Speaker 1: that the big baby update episode, will be at that
- 11:17Speaker 1: point we will know the gender of our child. So
- 11:20Speaker 1: when you're sitting.
- 11:21Speaker 2: There, oh my gosh, it's so weird.
- 11:23Speaker 1: So when you're sitting here looking at me, you know
- 11:26Speaker 1: you're going to know for the rest of your life
- 11:28Speaker 1: whether or not you'll be raising a son or a daughter.
- 11:32Speaker 1: So this so the episode goes from as you refer
- 11:36Speaker 1: to our child right now as an it.
- 11:38Speaker 2: Yes, you can tell it, keep telling me.
- 11:41Speaker 1: She doesn't let me, let me a squid, a baby,
- 11:43Speaker 1: gummy bear, whatever it is.
- 11:45Speaker 2: Now, don't call it him or her. I can call
- 11:48Speaker 2: it whatever you want, him and her.
- 11:50Speaker 1: So the exciting thing is next week you're going to
- 11:52Speaker 1: be looking at me saying my daughter or my son.
- 11:55Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, that's heavy. Oh my god. That is
- 12:01Speaker 2: a large task to take on, a big responsibility, which.
- 12:05Speaker 1: From that point the following episode, we will be updating
- 12:09Speaker 1: our listeners on prepping the nursery, because you can't prep
- 12:15Speaker 1: a nursery if it's an it.
- 12:17Speaker 2: No I can't.
- 12:17Speaker 1: I can't prep a nursery for a gummy bear.
- 12:19Speaker 2: No you can't. However, I love these these stuffed animals,
- 12:27Speaker 2: and people have been giving me a lot of them.
- 12:30Speaker 2: They're like dogs. Yeah, do you remember the name. Well,
- 12:35Speaker 2: they're expensive, that's all I know. I looked at it
- 12:38Speaker 2: and I was like, wait, this person was like me
- 12:40Speaker 2: a lot because this stuffed animal was seventy eight dollars.
- 12:43Speaker 1: Who sent you a stuff animal?
- 12:44Speaker 2: Madison's brother, Well, that's so nice. Yeah, but you bought
- 12:49Speaker 2: me one at the Las Vegas Airport. Yeah, I know
- 12:51Speaker 2: that they got me one too. So now I'm like,
- 12:53Speaker 2: oh my gosh, we were having lunch.
- 12:56Speaker 1: We're having lunch at my favorite.
- 12:58Speaker 2: It's only only natural. Well, yes that I have a
- 13:01Speaker 2: lot of stuffed animal dogs in the room because you know,
- 13:05Speaker 2: it's just fitting.
- 13:05Speaker 1: What's my fried chicken place called in Vegas? I'm a
- 13:08Speaker 1: natural baby.
- 13:09Speaker 2: I don't remember so good. I have no idea.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Well, let's talk about today's guest, because we will make
- 13:14Speaker 1: it all about you for the next nine months.
- 13:17Speaker 2: Oh love when it's about me all the time.
- 13:19Speaker 1: It's your podcast. So but we will talk about the
- 13:21Speaker 1: baby a lot and you being the expecting mother, yeah,
- 13:24Speaker 1: because we will pay homage to you daily. But today
- 13:28Speaker 1: we are going to pivot to our guest, which we
- 13:32Speaker 1: have the incredible Jackie Cruz obsessed obsessed.
- 13:36Speaker 2: I became obsessed with her when I saw her on
- 13:39Speaker 2: the show a little show called Orange is the New
- 13:42Speaker 2: Black on Netflix.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Oh, I think that she's so good. She's so good.
- 13:46Speaker 1: And not only that, I have to tell you something
- 13:47Speaker 1: cool because you're a music aficionado or I think that's
- 13:50Speaker 1: the right word, and you love music. So when Jackie
- 13:53Speaker 1: Cruz was in high school, she worked with will I
- 13:56Speaker 1: AM's producers in a girl group called Crush Velvet. What
- 14:01Speaker 1: that's Jackie Cruse. She don't fuck herround, No.
- 14:04Speaker 2: She's just talented.
- 14:05Speaker 1: Yeah. So I'm excited to have Jackie Cruise, and I
- 14:08Speaker 1: know you you love Jackie Cruise, So I think we
- 14:10Speaker 1: should take a quick commercial break, come back. And she
- 14:14Speaker 1: also had just got married, so we have a lot
- 14:16Speaker 1: to talk about. Oh shoot during COVID. Yeah, okay, we'll
- 14:20Speaker 1: be right back.
- 14:29Speaker 2: We are back, my little benbinos, and we have missed
- 14:33Speaker 2: Jackie kru.
- 14:36Speaker 3: Bay Lucky.
- 14:38Speaker 1: Yes, Jackie. First of all, First of all, congratulations, you
- 14:43Speaker 1: must start out by telling us that you just got married. Correct.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Oh shit, yeah.
- 14:51Speaker 2: I love that response. Oh shit, yeah I did I
- 14:54Speaker 2: did do that. Please tell me how this went down.
- 14:58Speaker 3: Yeah, you guys, this will be the first people that
- 15:01Speaker 3: I talked to about it.
- 15:02Speaker 2: Oh shit, damn spill all.
- 15:05Speaker 1: The team, Jackie, before you tell us. I have to
- 15:07Speaker 1: tell you something. You know, our wedding was supposed to
- 15:10Speaker 1: be April eighteenth, as you probably know, and and because
- 15:13Speaker 1: of COVID, we pushed it back September and then Lalla
- 15:15Speaker 1: called me. I was like, we cannot do this now,
- 15:18Speaker 1: we must do it next year. I'm boat we pushed
- 15:20Speaker 1: the next year. So I just want to hear your experience,
- 15:23Speaker 1: like was that the projected real date or did you
- 15:26Speaker 1: have to move it or did you just improvise?
- 15:29Speaker 3: No, No, I am like hippie vibes, Like I was like,
- 15:34Speaker 3: you know what, COVID is a good excuse not to
- 15:37Speaker 3: invite everybody? You know.
- 15:39Speaker 2: Oh you're smart.
- 15:40Speaker 3: I'm kidding.
- 15:41Speaker 2: I'm not like it.
- 15:42Speaker 3: I'm kidding. I'm kidding. I did get away with it,
- 15:45Speaker 3: but no, I just wanted something small. It was going
- 15:48Speaker 3: to be like this, no matter about if it was
- 15:50Speaker 3: COVID or not, you know what I mean. So like it.
- 15:53Speaker 3: It was sad that I couldn't, you know, invite the
- 15:56Speaker 3: people you know that are older in my family, just
- 15:58Speaker 3: to protect them. But other than that, it was just
- 16:02Speaker 3: beautiful immediate family. Fernando Garcia rosas my podcast.
- 16:10Speaker 1: You know what sucks Jackartith. You know what sucks, Jackie
- 16:13Speaker 1: the fact that you could say your man's name like that,
- 16:15Speaker 1: and Lala's gotta go out there and say randall Emmett.
- 16:20Speaker 1: I mean, it's just I'll changing my.
- 16:22Speaker 2: Name do something.
- 16:23Speaker 1: Wait.
- 16:24Speaker 2: Okay, so he's an artist. How how did you guys meet?
- 16:28Speaker 3: Oh my goodness, this was like six years ago. I
- 16:31Speaker 3: was looking. Yeah, I was actually walking into a place
- 16:35Speaker 3: where I was going to sing at with my guitarist
- 16:38Speaker 3: and Fernando was bartending, and I was like, holy shit,
- 16:42Speaker 3: that guy is fucking hot. But he looks like he's sixteen,
- 16:45Speaker 3: Like what the fuck?
- 16:46Speaker 1: Oh?
- 16:49Speaker 3: Yeah? Then he started he was in sixteen. But then
- 16:51Speaker 3: he started talking to me and he was like, old mommy,
- 16:54Speaker 3: what can I get you? And I'm like, oh god,
- 16:56Speaker 3: oh my god. I was like, where are you from Columbia?
- 17:01Speaker 3: Because I just like broke up with a terrible Columbian.
- 17:04Speaker 3: I was like, where you from Columbia? Because I was,
- 17:06Speaker 3: you know, already pissed. But he had an accent. But no,
- 17:10Speaker 3: he's Mexican, so other than that, like he I guess
- 17:14Speaker 3: he heard me sing and he was like, you know, yeah, totally.
- 17:20Speaker 3: And then like we broke up actually last year for
- 17:24Speaker 3: like what no, a year and a half. And then
- 17:28Speaker 3: he had this dream about me and it came to
- 17:31Speaker 3: me through like his brother's like girlfriend and she's like
- 17:35Speaker 3: you want to hear this, and I'm like, I hate, man,
- 17:37Speaker 3: I fucking hate I want to hear nothing. Right and
- 17:41Speaker 3: then and then I fucking read it and it was
- 17:44Speaker 3: like the most beautiful like scenario, and like I'm like, fuck,
- 17:48Speaker 3: I'm gonna call him. And then this Christmas or last Christmas,
- 17:53Speaker 3: we started talking again and he proposed because I was like, yo,
- 17:56Speaker 3: I don't want a boyfriend. I don't want no man,
- 17:59Speaker 3: like nothing. And I was like I'm dating a lot
- 18:01Speaker 3: of people right now, and he's like, well let the
- 18:03Speaker 3: best man win.
- 18:04Speaker 2: Wow, he was up for the challenge.
- 18:07Speaker 1: I like this guy. Oh yeah, he's cool.
- 18:09Speaker 3: And then finally, you know, I was like, you know,
- 18:12Speaker 3: if you want to marry me, that's a different question,
- 18:15Speaker 3: but I don't want a boyfriend. So awesome.
- 18:19Speaker 2: She's like, I don't want to man or boyfriend, but
- 18:21Speaker 2: a husband now that I will take.
- 18:23Speaker 1: I'm going to just say something right here, Jackie, you're
- 18:25Speaker 1: a straight up badass to I mean, that's pretty badass.
- 18:29Speaker 1: That's like I want nothing.
- 18:31Speaker 2: But that's a real man too, to be like, all right,
- 18:34Speaker 2: let's do this because most men quote unquote boys four
- 18:39Speaker 2: years you know, Damn, I'm so happy for you.
- 18:42Speaker 3: So here did your mom too? Like my family's a matriarch,
- 18:47Speaker 3: like my mom's hafa, like the boss. And he asked
- 18:50Speaker 3: my mom and she said yes, And I said, what
- 18:53Speaker 3: the hell did you tell her? He's like, I promised
- 18:56Speaker 3: her to love you forever. And I was like.
- 19:00Speaker 2: To go, I have chills. That is so sweet. Yeah,
- 19:04Speaker 2: And then where did you guys get married? You said,
- 19:07Speaker 2: you said you're a bit of a little hipster, so
- 19:09Speaker 2: how did you?
- 19:10Speaker 3: Yeah, I know, in Mexico, in Mexico, and it was
- 19:14Speaker 3: like the most I don't know, it's like our little
- 19:18Speaker 3: secret spot that I don't want to like say right now,
- 19:20Speaker 3: but I'll have to say anything you don't want to say.
- 19:23Speaker 3: But I was just like I wanted to disappear with
- 19:27Speaker 3: my family for like, you know, I wanted to disappear
- 19:30Speaker 3: with him. And we disappeared in Mexico for like a month,
- 19:34Speaker 3: and then the last week we invited like twelve people
- 19:38Speaker 3: and they came and stayed with us in the villa,
- 19:41Speaker 3: and I created the wedding in the month that I
- 19:44Speaker 3: was there by just meeting people and saying, hey, you
- 19:47Speaker 3: think I could get married here and they're like, yeah, sure,
- 19:51Speaker 3: Like it was just like that. I hired local people.
- 19:54Speaker 3: I just flew out my photographer and one of my
- 19:57Speaker 3: best friends is my makeup artist, Elena. So that was
- 20:00Speaker 3: it and it was beautiful.
- 20:03Speaker 2: You're so cool, Like that is the coolest thing I've
- 20:06Speaker 2: ever heard. I just went to much like no stress
- 20:09Speaker 2: at all. And can I tell you there is no
- 20:13Speaker 2: culture that I adore more than Mexican culture. I like,
- 20:17Speaker 2: I'm obsessed with it. So I can only imagine the
- 20:22Speaker 2: love and the passion and the fun that went down
- 20:25Speaker 2: during that time.
- 20:27Speaker 3: A beautiful indigenous ceremony, spiritual. We had you know, the shaman.
- 20:32Speaker 3: She was incredible and she sang to us, and there
- 20:35Speaker 3: was a you know, a drummer and someone you know,
- 20:39Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 20:40Speaker 2: Are you at any point gonna show videos of this?
- 20:43Speaker 2: Oh yeah, okay, because I'm dying to see it. Oh
- 20:46Speaker 2: my god, you see.
- 20:48Speaker 3: It soon because I'm coming to y'all soon.
- 20:51Speaker 1: So yeah, that's right, I'm gonna see you. Wait, are
- 20:54Speaker 1: you coming by the way, that we're gonna switch gears
- 20:56Speaker 1: down to that.
- 20:57Speaker 2: I have hold on. I have to know this. I
- 21:00Speaker 2: have one question before, like Randa likes to say, we pivot,
- 21:04Speaker 2: did you guys write your own vows?
- 21:07Speaker 3: Absolutely?
- 21:08Speaker 2: Oh.
- 21:09Speaker 3: It was funny because my uh, the girl was like
- 21:14Speaker 3: from a conason and I'm like, nah, girl, I wrote
- 21:17Speaker 3: this down and She's like no, no, no, and I
- 21:21Speaker 3: was like no, and then she started singing AHM, and
- 21:25Speaker 3: I'm like trying to say my vows. Yeah, it was
- 21:28Speaker 3: like a comedic moment. But yeah, I definitely wrote them
- 21:31Speaker 3: and he wrote his and we both cried. It was
- 21:34Speaker 3: just it was beautiful. I really recommend that.
- 21:37Speaker 2: I fully agree.
- 21:38Speaker 1: I already I've already written sane. Yeah, I have to
- 21:43Speaker 1: polish it up, but I'm like ready to go.
- 21:45Speaker 2: Oh, I'm ready to go too. I'm well, I'm so
- 21:47Speaker 2: happy for you Jackie.
- 21:49Speaker 3: Well, I also want you guys to promise me I'll
- 21:51Speaker 3: take you to my little hiding spot in Mexico. We
- 21:53Speaker 3: go together to celebrate Yeah, this movie that's gonna come
- 21:57Speaker 3: out soon.
- 21:58Speaker 1: And by the way, by the way, Jackie, I'll provide
- 22:00Speaker 1: the jet and you just show us the spot.
- 22:03Speaker 3: Will go Randall. You know I've never been on a jet.
- 22:06Speaker 1: Right, stop that bullshit, Jackie. Right now, I break you
- 22:08Speaker 1: right now, I'm breaking that ship right now, Jackie, I
- 22:12Speaker 1: need to treak it. I will break that ship right now.
- 22:15Speaker 1: Nobody's allowed to get on the mic with me and
- 22:17Speaker 1: tell me they are a virgin private jet person. So
- 22:20Speaker 1: I am. Yeah. We are going. So we're gonna pick
- 22:23Speaker 1: a trip, you and your man, me and Laala. We
- 22:26Speaker 1: won't go super far because Lala is pregnant, but we'll
- 22:28Speaker 1: go somewhere somewhere fun.
- 22:30Speaker 3: Oh my god, congratulations. I didn't know that.
- 22:33Speaker 2: Thank you, Mama. It's I just say it's lazy. Yeah, dude,
- 22:38Speaker 2: it's an exciting time. Yes, people are getting married and
- 22:42Speaker 2: making babies during COVID. There's a there's a little bit of.
- 22:45Speaker 3: Good during this coming out of it, and you know what,
- 22:48Speaker 3: the world, the world is healthier. I gotta be honest
- 22:51Speaker 3: with you, Like the corals, you know, everything is like
- 22:55Speaker 3: I don't know, growing back, yeah, thriving.
- 22:58Speaker 1: We need it, you know, we needed, Jackie. We need
- 23:00Speaker 1: like a reset. You know, we just did a reset.
- 23:02Speaker 3: And I think all of us because we're always like
- 23:05Speaker 3: what's next, What's next? What's next, Like we never really
- 23:08Speaker 3: appreciated the moment. Like I've been watching your IDs and
- 23:12Speaker 3: you You've had beautiful moments with your with your daughters lately,
- 23:16Speaker 3: you know what I mean, Like you really wouldn't have
- 23:19Speaker 3: had that time before.
- 23:20Speaker 1: I appreciate it. And I'm going to tell you something.
- 23:21Speaker 1: I've had more quality time with my partner here, I've
- 23:25Speaker 1: had more quality time with my children. Lala is always
- 23:28Speaker 1: living ten steps forward and I'm living thirty steps forward.
- 23:31Speaker 1: And for the first time, we don't have to live
- 23:33Speaker 1: one hundred thousand steps forward. I mean we obviously, you know,
- 23:37Speaker 1: we played more pickleball together. We watched more movies and
- 23:39Speaker 1: TV shows. I would have never seen the seventeen thousand
- 23:43Speaker 1: episodes of television that Lala and I cuddled and lay
- 23:46Speaker 1: in bed and watched if this hadn't happened.
- 23:48Speaker 2: That's true.
- 23:49Speaker 3: I love that we have to find the light in
- 23:51Speaker 3: the dark times. I guess you know.
- 23:53Speaker 1: I'm pivoting to the career right now, right, all right,
- 23:57Speaker 1: So Jackie, I need people to hear because you are
- 24:00Speaker 1: a boss. You're a boss both in acting and in music.
- 24:04Speaker 1: Just give me a snapshot, you know, I know you
- 24:07Speaker 1: started out in high school with like will I AM's
- 24:09Speaker 1: producers and had a girl group or or a music group.
- 24:12Speaker 1: Tell me how that hall started and how you got
- 24:16Speaker 1: to where you are, Like what was your journey? Your path?
- 24:19Speaker 3: Oh my god, my journey was crazy. Like I told you,
- 24:23Speaker 3: I came here at fifteen from the Dominican Republic. Like
- 24:27Speaker 3: I was the only Dominican here really, Like there was
- 24:30Speaker 3: one and I'll name her Donya Ramirez.
- 24:32Speaker 1: Oh my god.
- 24:33Speaker 3: Yeah, and I spoke to her. I was I think
- 24:36Speaker 3: I was a co check girl when she was in
- 24:39Speaker 3: Fat Albert or whatever. And I was like, I'm Dominican too.
- 24:42Speaker 3: I want to sing an act and she was like, girl,
- 24:44Speaker 3: you can do it. And I fucking will always remember
- 24:46Speaker 3: that shit that she like was like, you know, really
- 24:49Speaker 3: really beautiful heart, and she like called me and gave
- 24:52Speaker 3: me advice. But yeah, but like it was hard because
- 24:56Speaker 3: I didn't have any friends. You know. I came here
- 24:58Speaker 3: like eleventh grade, like you know, people thought I was
- 25:01Speaker 3: cool or whatever because I was like from a different
- 25:03Speaker 3: country that they thought was in New York. I'm like, nah,
- 25:06Speaker 3: it's not a New York son, It's like the Caribbeans.
- 25:10Speaker 3: They're like, oh, they never heard of it, you know,
- 25:14Speaker 3: back then, that's what happened, you know, and I guess
- 25:17Speaker 3: you know, I went into this Hamilton High school, which
- 25:21Speaker 3: actually I know that one of your other uh my coach,
- 25:26Speaker 3: well and my co stars and another actor in your movie. Uh,
- 25:31Speaker 3: he also went to that high school. And he was
- 25:33Speaker 3: popping at that time.
- 25:34Speaker 1: Wait, which hurt. Oh, awesome, that is so cool.
- 25:40Speaker 3: We went to like that music academy or whatever, and
- 25:44Speaker 3: that's awesome. Yeah, and I you know, he was popping
- 25:47Speaker 3: back then, you know, and I was just like, wow,
- 25:50Speaker 3: that's so cool. He goes to my high school. But
- 25:51Speaker 3: we weren't in classes together. But regardless, like you know,
- 25:55Speaker 3: I was. My mother always was very strict with me,
- 25:58Speaker 3: and you know, I came into this La scene Matt early,
- 26:02Speaker 3: and you know, kids were mad independent, you know, they
- 26:05Speaker 3: had their own money and we didn't. You know, I
- 26:07Speaker 3: received paysos, not you know, dollars, so I had like
- 26:11Speaker 3: paysos coming from the Dominican Republic. So we had this
- 26:14Speaker 3: little studio apartment in Koreatown and then my mom you know,
- 26:18Speaker 3: moved in her like now husband, and I was just like, Mom,
- 26:22Speaker 3: I can't you know, be like a teenage girl in
- 26:25Speaker 3: a studio, living in the kitchen, so like, I'm moving
- 26:28Speaker 3: out and I met this like girl because I had
- 26:31Speaker 3: two jobs. I was like the cashier at Baja Fresh
- 26:34Speaker 3: at the Beverly Connection, oh yeah, and then wow yeah.
- 26:38Speaker 3: And then I was the co check girl in Hollywood
- 26:41Speaker 3: and Highland for this club called Level three or Club
- 26:46Speaker 3: one seven and it was like a fifteen and over
- 26:48Speaker 3: year old club or whatever.
- 26:50Speaker 1: Yeah damn yeah.
- 26:52Speaker 3: And there was like all these Disney kids, so I
- 26:54Speaker 3: felt good. I was like, you know, like you working
- 26:57Speaker 3: co check, meeting all these cute little Disney celebrities seven
- 27:00Speaker 3: Evan you know whoever. Like I'm dating myself now, but AnyWho.
- 27:04Speaker 3: Long story short is that I met this girl and
- 27:06Speaker 3: I moved out, and you know, I told my mom,
- 27:10Speaker 3: who changed her life for me, you know, like I
- 27:13Speaker 3: don't like what you tell me to do, so I'm moving.
- 27:17Speaker 3: She's like, you want to go, Jackie, go, but don't
- 27:20Speaker 3: fucking come back. Sorry. I don't know if I can
- 27:21Speaker 3: say that.
- 27:21Speaker 1: Everybody say what you want here.
- 27:23Speaker 3: He was just like, you know, being an adult is
- 27:25Speaker 3: not easy. Just don't come back. And I was like, fine, mom,
- 27:28Speaker 3: my ride is outside. It was like a Honda Civic.
- 27:31Speaker 3: I was mad and pressed and as I didn't have
- 27:33Speaker 3: a ride, so I was just like cool, long story short,
- 27:36Speaker 3: is it? That fucking ride got me into a major
- 27:39Speaker 3: car accident And like at sixteen, like I like flew
- 27:43Speaker 3: out of the car because I wasn't wearing a seapot
- 27:45Speaker 3: and I had immediate like brain surgery and you know,
- 27:49Speaker 3: a coma. I wasn't gonna live and then like I
- 27:52Speaker 3: random left. Yeah, So, like I talked about it in
- 27:56Speaker 3: my album and I have a song called Melly sixteen
- 27:59Speaker 3: because there was this little girl in a wheelchair who
- 28:02Speaker 3: like came up to me and was like, you're so
- 28:04Speaker 3: pretty when I had like a shaved head and like
- 28:07Speaker 3: pretty much not a face, and that just changed my life.
- 28:11Speaker 3: So I dedicated my song to her, and she's in
- 28:15Speaker 3: my actual music video which is called Melly sixteen and
- 28:18Speaker 3: my album. So yeah, so that's really how it all
- 28:22Speaker 3: started kind of, and like I kind of gave up
- 28:24Speaker 3: on acting because in Hollywood, you know, they're just used
- 28:27Speaker 3: to seeing like maybe the Mexican like look and there,
- 28:31Speaker 3: they don't really understand that Caribbean we're just mixed with
- 28:34Speaker 3: like Africa and indigenous and you know, Spanish, so like
- 28:39Speaker 3: we look different, and all of us look all different,
- 28:42Speaker 3: you know, colors, So they didn't really understand why I
- 28:45Speaker 3: had this long, curly hair and I could speak fluent
- 28:47Speaker 3: Spanish and I didn't look Mexican, you know. So that's
- 28:50Speaker 3: why I gave up on acting. Wow, focus on music. Yeah,
- 28:54Speaker 3: and music brought me to New York.
- 28:56Speaker 2: Okay, So what how old were you when you went
- 28:59Speaker 2: to New York for music?
- 29:00Speaker 3: So I went to New York for music, maybe twenty three,
- 29:04Speaker 3: and I gave up acting and I started at fifteen.
- 29:06Speaker 3: Imagine I had my car accident.
- 29:08Speaker 1: What a loss to our community? You know what I mean?
- 29:10Speaker 1: You waitning, I mean, I'm saying. I'm serious. You don't
- 29:13Speaker 1: at that time, Like at that time, you decide you
- 29:15Speaker 1: just get down because of the opportunity. You don't feel
- 29:17Speaker 1: as there. You go to New York and then you
- 29:20Speaker 1: get into the music scene, right what you're already into.
- 29:22Speaker 1: But I mean, now, what happens in New York? Well,
- 29:24Speaker 1: you know what, let's say, quick break, We're gonna come
- 29:26Speaker 1: right back at two seconds. Now, I want to hear
- 29:29Speaker 1: all of this. This is awesome.
- 29:33Speaker 2: We're back with Jackie Cruz. Okay, so you are now
- 29:36Speaker 2: twenty three at this time and you're in New York
- 29:41Speaker 2: doing music. Now, tell me did people understand more of
- 29:46Speaker 2: like because I know that New York now has a
- 29:52Speaker 2: very heavy dr population. Were they more receptive of where
- 29:57Speaker 2: you come from? They always had it right, yeah, New York,
- 30:01Speaker 2: Like I.
- 30:01Speaker 3: Was born in Queens, Like New York always has the
- 30:04Speaker 3: Dominican the Puerto Rican like okay, really heavy. But it
- 30:07Speaker 3: was like, you know, the movies are made in California, you.
- 30:10Speaker 2: Know, but you probably, I mean you come out to
- 30:12Speaker 2: Californian you probably felt like there was no place for you.
- 30:15Speaker 2: People didn't understand like where you're.
- 30:17Speaker 3: At because remember that I'm coming from the Dominican Republic,
- 30:20Speaker 3: and right when you're this little girl and watch TV,
- 30:22Speaker 3: you just think of Hollywood, you know, totally you don't
- 30:25Speaker 3: think of like New York. Which that's why I said
- 30:28Speaker 3: I was probably the only Dominican who didn't move to
- 30:30Speaker 3: New York and was in California, right, Right.
- 30:33Speaker 2: So when you got to New York, did you feel
- 30:35Speaker 2: like like I'm home, I feel comfortable and content here.
- 30:39Speaker 3: Yeah? Because like there was also like a Broadway show
- 30:44Speaker 3: called In the Heights and they were all about like
- 30:46Speaker 3: it's a Dominican story.
- 30:47Speaker 1: Do you know that my friend Do you know that
- 30:49Speaker 1: my friend Andrea Burns was in in the Heights?
- 30:52Speaker 3: Really?
- 30:52Speaker 1: Yes? Wow? You know?
- 30:54Speaker 3: Oh my god, my.
- 30:55Speaker 1: Friend Andrea Burns, which was one of my best friends
- 30:57Speaker 1: growing up. We went to the New World School of
- 30:59Speaker 1: the Arts of Miami together and she still is a
- 31:02Speaker 1: big Broadway person. And the first time I ever heard
- 31:05Speaker 1: of into into the Heights was her. And she's her
- 31:08Speaker 1: family's his mother's Venezuelan and the fathers. You know, uh,
- 31:13Speaker 1: just a Jew like me.
- 31:17Speaker 3: But you know, you know that's that's what like called
- 31:20Speaker 3: me again. Like I love to sing it's my heart,
- 31:23Speaker 3: it's my soul, and that's who I truly am. But
- 31:26Speaker 3: I also love to play all these different people because
- 31:29Speaker 3: I have. It's an outlet for me and like to
- 31:32Speaker 3: be honest, like I missed it. And there was this
- 31:35Speaker 3: girl that you know, I was waitressing at Lavo. I
- 31:37Speaker 3: opened up Lavo. Wow, and Knowheppenberg is still yeah. Boys
- 31:44Speaker 3: call them, Yeah, they're my there are my people. You know,
- 31:47Speaker 3: I love them. And you know, Noah always believed in me.
- 31:50Speaker 3: He's like one day Jackie, I see it and he
- 31:53Speaker 3: always told me that, And you know, Melissa always. She
- 31:56Speaker 3: would actually his wife would always come to my shows
- 31:59Speaker 3: at the big where I sang, and they would be
- 32:01Speaker 3: like five people and one of them was Melissa.
- 32:04Speaker 1: Oh my god, amazing. Yeah.
- 32:06Speaker 3: These are my like my they're my heart, like they're
- 32:08Speaker 3: they're true people.
- 32:09Speaker 1: I just I just want to tell you one thing.
- 32:11Speaker 1: Noah and Jason and Noah always just like our buddy
- 32:15Speaker 1: David Grutman in Miami. You know those are just yeah,
- 32:18Speaker 1: me too. Yeah, but I'm saying those are like people.
- 32:20Speaker 1: They're like they are on top of the world. And
- 32:23Speaker 1: even when I was coming up and didn't have much,
- 32:26Speaker 1: and I'm sure you felt the same, they treated me
- 32:29Speaker 1: the same as they treat me today as they did
- 32:31Speaker 1: twenty something years ago.
- 32:32Speaker 3: So I lacktly when I was a waitress for them,
- 32:36Speaker 3: you know, like I was his friend first, then I
- 32:39Speaker 3: was his waitress and then you know, I can't really
- 32:41Speaker 3: hang out with them too much because of you know,
- 32:43Speaker 3: work issues. But then but they were still always respectful.
- 32:47Speaker 3: They believed in me. They were you know, Melissa was
- 32:49Speaker 3: my friends. And then now like shit, they get me tables,
- 32:53Speaker 3: you know what I mean, Like they're the best. And
- 32:56Speaker 3: you know, Dave Grutman is the one who gave me
- 32:58Speaker 3: my first well he recommended me for my first waitressing
- 33:01Speaker 3: job in Miami.
- 33:02Speaker 2: Oh wow, that's amazing. And they probably all knew that
- 33:05Speaker 2: you were gonna be someone great someday. And it feels
- 33:08Speaker 2: good when people who who see celebrities all the time
- 33:12Speaker 2: and then they look at you and you like, you know,
- 33:14Speaker 2: you haven't quite made it yet, and they're like, you're
- 33:16Speaker 2: gonna make it one day. You're like, damn, you.
- 33:18Speaker 1: Really think so? But it shows their character, don't Yeah.
- 33:21Speaker 3: And it just makes you believe that you are, you know.
- 33:23Speaker 3: So like that's why I give him so much credit. Literally,
- 33:26Speaker 3: he could be busy as hell and he'll always text.
- 33:29Speaker 3: So I always got to give a shout out to
- 33:31Speaker 3: my people because let me tell you something. I was
- 33:33Speaker 3: working as a waitress season one, two and three at
- 33:36Speaker 3: Lavo before I got fired. But we'll talk about that late.
- 33:41Speaker 3: But yeah, like you know what I mean, Like Orange
- 33:44Speaker 3: didn't pay me until later on until you know, the
- 33:48Speaker 3: show kicked off and they were like, oh, we got
- 33:50Speaker 3: something here. And it was a test, you know. The
- 33:53Speaker 3: first season was a test and they picked out the
- 33:55Speaker 3: people they wanted to write for. But the reason why
- 33:58Speaker 3: I got the show was because I missed, you know, acting,
- 34:01Speaker 3: and one of the girls had a manager and she
- 34:03Speaker 3: was like, see my manager, and the manager's like cool.
- 34:06Speaker 3: And my first audition was for Flaka. And there's also
- 34:10Speaker 3: another girl that worked with me that was like this
- 34:13Speaker 3: feisty Latina uh and I'm gonna color out Karina.
- 34:16Speaker 1: I love you.
- 34:17Speaker 3: She would get that crazy and like I would imitate her.
- 34:21Speaker 3: You know, I was like, don't fuck with my three m's,
- 34:23Speaker 3: my mama, my man. She said, my mama, my man,
- 34:26Speaker 3: and my money. You fuck with my money to that bitch.
- 34:29Speaker 3: She would literally talk like that right, Oh my god.
- 34:32Speaker 3: I love her, And then she would have a crush
- 34:35Speaker 3: on the like manager and she's like I saw you
- 34:37Speaker 3: talking to my man. I was like, girl, he's just
- 34:39Speaker 3: teaching me how to use like micros and she's like, oh,
- 34:43Speaker 3: did you say anything about me? Like she's fucking nuts.
- 34:46Speaker 3: So like when I auditioned for Flaka, it was Karina
- 34:50Speaker 3: that I was like embodying.
- 34:51Speaker 2: No, you're channeling a girl that you knew from Like
- 34:55Speaker 2: that's awesome, Yes, yes, that's my girl, yo.
- 35:00Speaker 3: And now she's she finished high school. You know, she
- 35:03Speaker 3: had a tough upbringing, but like she's living her dream
- 35:07Speaker 3: right now, and I call her like Flacka's future, you know, yeah,
- 35:10Speaker 3: because you know she got out of the of that world, right.
- 35:15Speaker 2: I think everyone fell in love with you when you
- 35:19Speaker 2: stepped onto Orange is the New Black, because every time
- 35:23Speaker 2: you stepped onto the screen, it was like you were
- 35:27Speaker 2: just infatuated with what you brought to that character. I'm
- 35:31Speaker 2: being dead serious. I remember I first started watching Orange
- 35:34Speaker 2: Is the New Black when I moved to LA seven
- 35:38Speaker 2: years ago. I don't remember how many seasons y'all had
- 35:41Speaker 2: at that time, but I just remember I was like,
- 35:44Speaker 2: this show is single handedly making me feel like I'm
- 35:48Speaker 2: gonna make shit happen out here. Like I don't know how,
- 35:51Speaker 2: but I'm feeling less depressed.
- 35:53Speaker 3: Yeah, because we're finally we see like us kind of
- 35:56Speaker 3: like we get to see us on TV, which we
- 35:59Speaker 3: don't usually see right.
- 36:01Speaker 2: In the backstories of everybody, Like I think Jenji Cohen
- 36:05Speaker 2: is just absolutely fucking brilliant. I mean that had to
- 36:09Speaker 2: be just like it's surreal moment when they're like, oh,
- 36:12Speaker 2: by the way, like we are gonna was it? Or like,
- 36:14Speaker 2: did you guys not know that Orange was gonna be
- 36:16Speaker 2: that big, No.
- 36:18Speaker 3: We like this is when Netflix was still like mailing
- 36:22Speaker 3: you like CDs. Oh shoot yeah, Like my cousin was like, oh,
- 36:30Speaker 3: I'm gonna have to pay for that shit, Like is
- 36:33Speaker 3: that like what she's like? Is that a web series?
- 36:36Speaker 3: Like I got mad? I got made fun of? Like seriously, wow,
- 36:39Speaker 3: Well now he's laughing.
- 36:41Speaker 1: Out right exactly. You tell him, Jackie. I gotta tell you.
- 36:45Speaker 1: People don't know. Jackie's like a huge deal besides being
- 36:48Speaker 1: an actress. People know you, but you're a huge deal
- 36:50Speaker 1: of music. I've seen you perform at football stadiums like
- 36:55Speaker 1: it's nobody's business. Nobody's business.
- 36:59Speaker 3: That's it was scary. You got to act like it's.
- 37:04Speaker 1: All right now. I just want to tell people that
- 37:06Speaker 1: are listening because people I don't know if they know,
- 37:08Speaker 1: but you know, we just after six months of being
- 37:11Speaker 1: shut down on my first movie I'm directing Midnight, which
- 37:15Speaker 1: people have heard about, and they've had a meal her
- 37:17Speaker 1: Sean and Machine on Kelly and Megan Fox. Jackie has
- 37:20Speaker 1: been part of this cast from the jump. It's just
- 37:23Speaker 1: we've been shut down and we actually resume filming now.
- 37:26Speaker 1: So Jackie is about to collab with her friend Randall
- 37:32Speaker 1: so there we go.
- 37:33Speaker 3: Gosho, yo, do you know that I've been dreaming about
- 37:37Speaker 3: this like the whole twenty twenty oh man, Like I
- 37:40Speaker 3: was supposed to be in Puerto Rico. I was already
- 37:43Speaker 3: supposed to be on your jet.
- 37:44Speaker 1: I doubt that's true, Jackie. You were already supposed to
- 37:48Speaker 1: be on that jet. But you know what, the world
- 37:49Speaker 1: came to a halt and we are now going to
- 37:52Speaker 1: try to push it forward again.
- 37:54Speaker 3: So anyway, I'm so excited.
- 37:55Speaker 1: We're ready, Jackie. We're ready for you. Yeah, we're ready
- 37:58Speaker 1: for you, and and you're going to crush it. You
- 38:01Speaker 1: I've always known you were going to crush it and
- 38:02Speaker 1: I was lucky to get you. And you were such
- 38:05Speaker 1: a bench in the whole process. So thank you.
- 38:07Speaker 2: When he told me that you took that role, I
- 38:10Speaker 2: was like, oh my, I san girl out. Not over
- 38:13Speaker 2: very many people, but there are certain people that I
- 38:17Speaker 2: just there's something about them where I'm like.
- 38:19Speaker 3: You know what, la la, I do believe you because
- 38:21Speaker 3: when we first met, you were a fucking like gem,
- 38:25Speaker 3: like such a sweetheart. I gave you my number that night.
- 38:28Speaker 2: We did did Yeah, No, you and I hit We.
- 38:34Speaker 3: Have some you know, mutual friends in common. I know, yeah,
- 38:38Speaker 3: like I worked at SIR before I moved to like
- 38:41Speaker 3: New York.
- 38:42Speaker 2: Yes, how the fuck did we not? Yes, she worked
- 38:46Speaker 2: at SIR?
- 38:47Speaker 1: Stop this bullshit? Are you seriously like.
- 38:51Speaker 3: I like raised Lulu? No, I'm kidding yo, like I
- 38:57Speaker 3: used to like Lulu. Like her first three words was Mama, dada,
- 39:01Speaker 3: and Jackie, I'm not kidding you.
- 39:03Speaker 1: You could ask here, Oh wait, how did we not
- 39:06Speaker 1: start this conversation?
- 39:08Speaker 2: I feel like and I have spoken about this so
- 39:10Speaker 2: many times, Like I just like didn't even think about
- 39:13Speaker 2: it when you detail.
- 39:15Speaker 3: That organically, because you know, wait.
- 39:19Speaker 1: Who did when you worked at SIR? When you worked
- 39:21Speaker 1: at SIR? Who else worked there from the existing cast?
- 39:24Speaker 1: Do you remember? Like was Jack's there? Tom Sandoval?
- 39:28Speaker 3: No, Jack's wasn't fair, But I knew about him because
- 39:31Speaker 3: we had mutual friends and he liked Christina. You like
- 39:35Speaker 3: Christina Christina Kelly. I know Christina Kelly was there when
- 39:38Speaker 3: I worked there. We know it's like one of my
- 39:43Speaker 3: best friends.
- 39:44Speaker 2: So Jackie is like dear friends with this amazing chick
- 39:50Speaker 2: named Kelly. Kelly and I used to hang out every
- 39:53Speaker 2: single day because she had a big dog and I
- 39:56Speaker 2: had a big dog, so they would run around in
- 39:59Speaker 2: her backyard. And now Kelly lives in Texas, best friends
- 40:03Speaker 2: with Danny, Shay and Madison and they all work at
- 40:05Speaker 2: the same restaurant. How small is this world. I'm just
- 40:09Speaker 2: putting that out there. It's crazy.
- 40:12Speaker 1: By the way, I want to tell you something, Jackie.
- 40:13Speaker 1: Just side note. I text Noah, Jason and Grutman and
- 40:17Speaker 1: I just told them that they have to listen to
- 40:19Speaker 1: our podcasts, and Grutman and Noah within two seconds text back, awesome.
- 40:23Speaker 1: So nice. See that's who they are.
- 40:26Speaker 2: She is. Jackie's such a little gem because when I
- 40:29Speaker 2: first met you, I like, I come off as someone
- 40:32Speaker 2: who like I pretend like I just have all the
- 40:36Speaker 2: confidence in the world. I fake it till I make
- 40:38Speaker 2: it girl, And when I saw you, I was like,
- 40:41Speaker 2: oh my god, I'm obsessed with her, like just she
- 40:44Speaker 2: just has so much talent. There's there's not a lot
- 40:47Speaker 2: that impresses me. But when you're a talented person, that
- 40:51Speaker 2: right there, I'm immediately just in awe.
- 40:53Speaker 3: And so nic my episode is called faked and then
- 40:57Speaker 3: fake it some more.
- 40:58Speaker 2: That's that is awesome.
- 41:00Speaker 3: Like literally, it's it's what it is. But yo, thank
- 41:03Speaker 3: you so much for that love, Like I really do
- 41:06Speaker 3: believe it, and like, you know, I appreciate you and
- 41:09Speaker 3: Randal so much because I watch you guys, and you know,
- 41:13Speaker 3: it ain't easy doing everything that you're doing. And now
- 41:16Speaker 3: you're pregnant, and like you know, I see your makeup, lying, girl, I.
- 41:21Speaker 1: See you know.
- 41:22Speaker 3: We're just all trying you.
- 41:24Speaker 2: We're out here trying to make a dollar, baby.
- 41:26Speaker 3: And I'm telling you, if you don't give up, if
- 41:28Speaker 3: you don't if you just work on your craft and
- 41:30Speaker 3: just don't give up and be the best that you
- 41:33Speaker 3: like for you I'm not trying to be the Army
- 41:35Speaker 3: right now, but like be the best that you know,
- 41:38Speaker 3: like you can be for yourself, Like I criticize myself.
- 41:42Speaker 3: I have grown so much since season one on Orange,
- 41:45Speaker 3: like I am have blossomed, and I have more to blossom. Like,
- 41:49Speaker 3: just don't give up. You know people are always gonna
- 41:51Speaker 3: say she don't think she can act. Well maybe I
- 41:54Speaker 3: can't right now, bitch, but like why, you.
- 41:56Speaker 2: Know it's amazing, right, I love it.
- 41:59Speaker 3: Jack?
- 42:00Speaker 2: Before we let you go, is there anything that you
- 42:04Speaker 2: are working on that you're excited about besides your new
- 42:07Speaker 2: your new marriage, which is like the ultimate thing that
- 42:12Speaker 2: you have coming up that you want to tell us about.
- 42:15Speaker 3: Well, I have this franchise like movie that's coming out
- 42:19Speaker 3: called Trummer's Seven.
- 42:20Speaker 2: Oh that's awesome.
- 42:22Speaker 1: That's awesome, dude.
- 42:24Speaker 2: True.
- 42:24Speaker 3: I filmed it in Thailand like in November of last year,
- 42:28Speaker 3: and like the experience of like touching like elephants and
- 42:32Speaker 3: like working like around such beautiful nature was just like
- 42:37Speaker 3: worth it and it's it was fun. I get to
- 42:39Speaker 3: be an action hero Jackie.
- 42:41Speaker 1: How long are you in Thailand for ten days? That's
- 42:44Speaker 1: amazing that I did a bunch of movies back in
- 42:48Speaker 1: the day in Thailand and it was life changing for me.
- 42:51Speaker 1: So I completely relate.
- 42:52Speaker 2: Do you take me there, Rand when we can.
- 42:55Speaker 1: I'm ready to go. Okay, let's go.
- 42:57Speaker 2: I love it, Jackie. You're the ship for coming on
- 42:59Speaker 2: our podcast.
- 43:00Speaker 3: We love you so bad. Thank you. We can't wait
- 43:03Speaker 3: to see you tomorrow.
- 43:04Speaker 1: Yes, I will see I will see you tomorrow, Jackie.
- 43:08Speaker 3: Right, thank you guys for inviting me and asking me.
- 43:10Speaker 1: Like, we love you and thank you and I can't
- 43:13Speaker 1: wait to see you tomorrow.
- 43:14Speaker 3: I did a freaking ted talk like thank you. Yes,
- 43:17Speaker 3: I appreciate you.
- 43:18Speaker 1: Guys so much. Love, We love you. Thank you, Jack.
- 43:21Speaker 2: I really love her. It's so crazy because every time,
- 43:24Speaker 2: like our guests that come on, I feel like we
- 43:27Speaker 2: know most of them, and then every time we have
- 43:29Speaker 2: them on, I'm like, they're so cool and sweet, like
- 43:32Speaker 2: they don't have to come. You are such a rookie.
- 43:35Speaker 2: I can't even believe it. Like I'm having a really
- 43:38Speaker 2: genuine moment and your phone.
- 43:40Speaker 1: You know, how can I tell you something? You know
- 43:42Speaker 1: how I used to stop that line of mine where
- 43:44Speaker 1: I'd say, oh, don't forget about me with ran Yeah,
- 43:46Speaker 1: rookie got to go away.
- 43:48Speaker 2: Well, you would think that you'd stop being one, you know, right,
- 43:53Speaker 2: stop being a rookie, and it will come up with something.
- 43:55Speaker 1: I'm not a rookie because I am the greatest.
- 43:57Speaker 2: Like thirty something episode.
- 44:00Speaker 1: Greatest talent booker on the face of podcasts.
- 44:03Speaker 2: All I'm gonna say is, look.
- 44:04Speaker 1: Stacey even else, Yes, that's true. Have you ever seen
- 44:07Speaker 1: a podcast come out of the gate thirty episodes in
- 44:10Speaker 1: with the level of talent I brought? So if I'm
- 44:12Speaker 1: a rookie with the damn cell phone, I'm an expert
- 44:14Speaker 1: high level on talent booking.
- 44:16Speaker 2: Okay, let the phone ring, baby, You're right you're right,
- 44:19Speaker 2: letter Ring Rookie.
- 44:20Speaker 1: All right, baby, I have to ask question you know what.
- 44:22Speaker 1: I want to tell you something. An I'll shut up
- 44:23Speaker 1: again because I get excited. You know. I feel like COVID,
- 44:28Speaker 1: you know, slowed a lot of friendships down that we have. Yeah,
- 44:31Speaker 1: and I really miss people like Jackie and we need
- 44:33Speaker 1: to make a little more of an effort to like
- 44:35Speaker 1: get together.
- 44:35Speaker 2: With I have learned during COVID that I value the
- 44:39Speaker 2: friendships that I have, that we pick up where we
- 44:42Speaker 2: left off, that we may have not spoken for weeks,
- 44:47Speaker 2: maybe a couple months, and it's just like we are
- 44:49Speaker 2: right back where we used to be. So I agree
- 44:52Speaker 2: with you, and I also think it's important that we
- 44:55Speaker 2: acknowledge the fact that our guests do not have to
- 44:57Speaker 2: come on our podcast. They do that because they want
- 45:00Speaker 2: and they are badasses for doing that. So just like
- 45:03Speaker 2: our guests, you guys don't have to listen, and you do,
- 45:06Speaker 2: and we love you for that. Thank you for coming
- 45:08Speaker 2: back every single week to listen to us bumpcoms. We
- 45:13Speaker 2: love you and we will catch you next Wednesday.
